Trump, Drunk Stories, and Jamming Out With John Daly and Kid Rock
Okay, so the fact that you two know each. other. is I guess maybe inevitable, but also. a little shocking. How do you know each. other? Shocking. Well, cuz it's so. perfect. THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING. IT'S. TOO PERFECT. YEAH. YEAH. We can actually have a. conversation with you. I believe it. Manny Man 07 Warwick.
Hills. This is the only friend I have where I'm. the responsible one. No. No. Always. No. More than more than. I am with you, but yeah, you're right. about that. So, you met on a golf course. He came out to Warwick Hills. And uh he. was on the 17th hole. No, we met years before that. I didn't. even golf at. Hi. Hi. And. Yeah, but I hated golf. You're like, "Why don't you golf?" I'm like, "It's. gay.". Did you get a little gayer when you. started? Oh, I'm completely gay now. I LOVE GOLF.
I GOT HIM TO PLAY THE pro-am at Warwick. Hills. And. all he wanted to do was hit a drive down. the middle of the fairway. I did. First shot. absolutely killed it. I had a mic. I didn't really golf at the. time. So, I was just we were just having. fun. He drives my General Lee up there. with my brother. And like. it's just a [ __ ] show. And uh. and so I'm like, "Let's have some fun.". So, I just wear a pair of overalls, crack a beer. And I'm like and you know, the sports writers in Detroit are like, "Do you golf?" I'm like, "Oh, I was. going to go pro, but I did music thing.
got in the way. So, I just focused on. it." I'm just totally bullshitting. And I smack one down the middle. Just killed it. No shoes, overalls. And so now these guys until I hit my. second shot, I had them all convinced. They're like, "Wow, he could have gone. pro." And then after then they figured. it out after I hit another ball. For that 5 minutes. I had them all fooled. He walked really slow getting to that. ball, too. So, that was the first time you guys. hung out? No, we hung out a little bit, but we.
became really good friends probably that. I'd say that week. I ended up staying at. his place in Clarkston for that. tournament every year. at my place every year. I used to have. to like yell. Like one year I was doing. shows and. Oh, Pro Pro. You and [ __ ] were [ __ ] up in the. guest house like just boozing it up like. Who's Who's [ __ ]. His caddy, a South African caddy. Pro Pro, he's funny though. He's funny as [ __ ] but I'm trying to. sleep cuz I got shows the next day and I. don't mess around between shows. Yeah. You know what I mean? Not in the early. years, yeah, it was a little different, but. you know, I stay on my my game and and.
I'm like, "You guys got shut up, man. I. got to play.". What were THEY DOING? AH, FOOTBALL! [ __ ] YOU! HEY, WE STAYED IN THIS LITTLE GUEST room. up top. It had two bedrooms, but. I don't know it it's probably one I love. to cook. Oh, they got lasagna going like. him food all week long, but anyway, his. oven in there is I don't know how old. that something much is, but let me tell. you something. I want that oven. It's old. of the best ovens I've ever cooked in. oven. Or it was. This is my old house in.
outside Detroit. Oh, it was amazing. What did you do? You sold all that? Did. you keep Did you keep the oven? No. That thing's vintage. Sold it all. Pretty much Pretty much everything in. it. I mean, it's signs that are so old when. you go on your property and you don't. keep a vintage oven like that? No, I didn't keep the oven. Oh, man. I kept the signs. I should have stole that son of a [ __ ]. Yeah. I still got the codes. Most people can't appreciate a good oven. from a bad oven. Oh, I can.
So did you kick him out? No, I kind of got hard in the [ __ ] a. little bit because you know, I'm serious. about work and then. And then I think you dropped out of the. tournament. Like something he's like, "My leg hurts. I had to withdraw from. the tournament." Your leg hurts. I'm. like, "That wouldn't be that freaking. handle of vodka you drank last night, would it?". No, that actually helped it. And then he's kind of on the couch. So. never forget this like a little kid. He's like, "And I had a show we're. flying to somewhere, and he's like and I. was pissed at him because. this these shenanigans were going on. I. love him like a brother. But I'm like,
he had me upset, and and he's like. is it okay if I go to the show with you. tonight? I'M LIKE, NO, IT'S NOT OKAY. BECAUSE. OF COURSE HE ENDED UP GOING TO THE SHOW. HAD A GOOD TIME. I love him. Great time. That's amazing. So you're the moderate. restrained advice-giving partner in this. world. Not all the time. Can you name a time when. you felt the pull back? Client attorney privilege. Whatever the hell that thing is.
I would cook him breakfast every day for. the one um Buick open. we were doing. I was like. I get I'd have some eggs made for him, this, that, and the other. Oh, thanks, Bub. You got any Diet Coke? Three Diet Cokes. And I'm like. I actually almost won that one. How many do you drink a day, Diet Cokes? Not as many as Daddy Trump. My God, I. thought I could drink them, but man, he.
can drink them. He's unbelievable. He does put them away. Yeah. I used to put them away. I used to. have about 20, 22 of them a day. 22 Diet Cokes a day? Yeah. So you're getting all your hydration. from Diet Coke? Pretty much. Yeah. Why did you. outlast a camel when it comes if I have. to drink water. I can't stand water. Yeah, I know what you mean. I hate it. See what I'm dealing with here? No, but I mean, when I drink, you know, I'm a Diet Coke-er, there's ice in. there. There's water in there. 100%. So why'd you pull back?
I don't know. I just don't drink as. many. Although I drink a lot of these. now, so it's. Right. Cuz there's no vodka in Diet Coke. Right. Well, unless you pour some in there, but. Did Did your doctor like how many How. many Diet Cokes can you drink a day and. still be healthy? want me drinking any. Really? Yeah. Is it bad for you? Yeah, for bladder, yeah. I mean Trump's like seven in his 70s. Yeah, but he smokes cigarettes, so he. kind of balances it out. Exactly. It's totally right. Well, nicotine and caffeine equal. protein, Tucker. You know, I actually proven that.
That is totally true. I meant to ask you. when we talked earlier. You were talking. about your heroes on the tour, other golfers you admire. Is Is there. anyone you don't like? Bernard Langer. I love Bernard. He's a great guy. He. just kicks my ass. I decided I hate [ __ ] cuz he always wins. all the tournaments. Let's put it at me and Curtis Strange. never got along. What's he like? He just wasn't nice to me. He just. wasn't a nice guy to me. Who would not be nice to you? Yeah, why? He's the nicest guy you've ever met. a rookie. I was a rookie and he just. didn't like rookies. He just didn't like me.
Then I win the PGA 91 and I stole his. caddy at the 91 Skins game. Boatsy? What'd she look like? She's pretty hot now. Boatsy was We won the British Open. together in '95. He came. for me a long time and he passed away. God, it was brutal what he went through. He got robbed and. they beat him up. Next thing I know, he. was in a wheelchair. and he just I don't know what we He got. dementia or something. It was sad. From the beating he took?
Yeah. Where was he robbed? him. At his house in Jacksonville and uh. all the flag He won a He won two US. Opens with Curtis, won a few tournaments. with me. But all his Ryder Cup stuff, all his. flags he took off the poles when he win. See, a caddy will take the flag off the. pole when they win. And the pro sign it and um. but yeah, he. We traveled with him. They uh You want these? No, no. And it all got stolen? Stolen, robbed him, and beat the living. hell out of him. It was sad. And killed him in the end. Raped his wife. I mean, it was sad.
Did they ever get caught? I don't think so. That's horrifying. By the time. Way to lighten the mood, JOHNNY. WELL, SORRY. THAT'S A MOOD. That's a mood. crime you've ever read about? Damn, boy. The one I'm fixing to commit, maybe. I. don't know. Damn, that's awful. Yeah. So, that's the caddy you stole from. Strange? Huh? Did your relationship ever get.
better with him? Not really, no. He just, you know, I'm. still waiting for an apology. Where is he? Who cares? So, you never kind of warmed up to him? Look, I can get along with anybody. Yeah, I can tell. He just didn't like me for some reason. Oh, hey, look here. Go to johndailyshop.com, folks, and get. you a John Daly torch lighter. Look at that thing. We got the little little lighters. My favorite. That's a Richard Pryor lighter right. there. This is the one you like, right here.
hey, if you want crack cocaine or meth. to. Here, that's the one you like. That's it. It's got the blue zipper on it. Creme brulee and crack cocaine. Creme brulee, yeah. So, when you guys go in public, how does. it work? We just walk in like we're just in here. That's what I love about him. Yeah. He doesn't act like Kid Rock, he acts. like Bobby. He's just a friend, we go out to eat. People come up a little bit, but. they most people respect our space, you. know.
People are always like, I love your. security guard. He's cool. Yeah, yeah, that's what they call me, the security guard. Yeah. Have you ever had to hold groupies at. bay? Oh, there's been a few, huh? I just. They're everywhere. Where were you 15 years ago? Are there a lot of groupies in the PGA. tour? Oh my god, yeah. What How are golf groupies different. from. rock and roll groupies? Probably the same, I mean. You think so?
Yeah, they're all trying to tag on to. somebody that's got think they got money. or has money or whatever. Yeah. But, you know, I. I don't partake in um. that lifestyle. I didn't either. Are there Are there. still groupies in rock and rollers or. too. too much awareness? at this stage of the game, you're kind. of like. put them away. Yeah. Yeah, at this stage in your game, of. course. But 15 years ago, like Tiger, "PULL THEM. OUT! PULL THEM OUT! TAKE YOUR PANTS OFF! DO WHATEVER!".
IS THAT still a thing or did Me Too stop. all that? I I don't know. I'm in and out when I. play. No, I. I get in your case, but I mean like guys. who are 32. Yeah, why wouldn't there be? Cuz you Cuz. you know, I think um. I think honestly, like over the years. it's gotten to kind of a I mean, how. could you do anything in this day and. age? Yeah. You know, in terms of I call it having. fun. Right. Like whatever we did wild stuff back in. the day, like there was no victims. Everybody wanted to have fun. Right. just rock and roll, you know, it was.
this that and the other and you know, I. always made it a point myself and with. other people is like if there's wild. stuff happened, like let's treat. everybody very kind. Right. There's no reason to be mean. Of course. Especially in a situation that's weird. Right. You know? So, the weirdest. Everybody was trying to hang out and do. those things when I. I was like playing for 50 people in. Cleveland, Ohio. You know, but it's I don't know. I kind of feel bad for the younger. generation cuz it seems like it was it. was kind of looking back and.
I would think that everybody involved. with with that. with all the madness that was going on. was having a good time. Right. You know, but I was at a strict policy. It's like, "Hey, you don't mess with. somebody's girlfriend or wife.". Like there's just certain things that. are just way out of bounds, you know? But everybody wants to have a good time, especially when you're young. Like but there's just a right and a. wrong way to do it, you know what I. mean? Nowadays, you see kids, it's like, you know, I think they're scared to go. up and tell the girl, you know, like, "Hey, you're pretty.". No, they'll text them. Like, "AH, YOU RAPED ME!" YOU'RE LIKE,
"WHOA! WHOA! I JUST TOLD YOU YOU WERE. PRETTY.". RIGHT. SO, I mean, there's not You can't. really have like. No, I don't know. I've been out of the game. It's the phones, you know? You know, back in the day you didn't have phones. You could. Well, life has turned into a picture. Yeah, it's it's nothing but a picture or. video. You don't You don't go anywhere. People are always like, "What you and. me, him?" They're always looking to get. us doing something wrong. Cuz that makes. the news. Yeah. But if we. you know, give a kid 100 bucks for.
selling golf balls and buy all his. balls, and now you keep him selling, that never gets out anymore. No, of course not. That doesn't get clicks and views. No, it doesn't get any. It's got to be negative. It's got to be bad media. just sad. Everything's turned so. negative. And sometimes I even use it, you know, to like promote things. I'll just go. stir the pot a little bit, whatever I. got to promote, and the media will bite. on the hook. Hey Tucker, I'll drink yours. Would you mind? Would you like one, Bobby? What's that here? Good boy. Why do you call it good boy? Cuz I'm the bad boy of golf, so we.
thought we'd change my image and call IT. GOOD BOY. BY SELLING VODKA? DOES THAT WORK? WELL, if it's. You THINK I'M A BAD BOY? HEY, it says good boy, but you drink. enough of these, you'll become a bad. boy, I promise you. Hey, look at everybody's drinking water. that says liquid death. I know. Really. You kind of just went the other way with. it. What's what. What's the most number of those you've. consumed at once? Oh, I can drink 40 of these in a day. How many? 40, easily. 40? Yeah. I sat with him when I drank three. bottles of vodka.
Confirmed. Back in the day it was like three. bottles of Jack Daniels or Crown, but. since I got cancer I went to vodka, went. to the clear [ __ ] so. Just cuz healthier? Just keeping it healthy. Yeah, I know what you mean. I think. there comes a point in every man's life. you approach that age. it back, just you know, go to two. I'm going from Crown Royal to vodka. and a bottle of vodka, I have cancer. No, I didn't. Do you Do you feel a health improvement. moving from the dark liquor to the light. liquor? No. No. No.
I think doctors are lying about that. When they say no, drink a handle of. vodka instead of the Jack, I don't think. there's any improvement. They say the brown's bad for your body, but hell, I mean. it's bad for your soul. What soul? I got soul. Makes you crazy. I love it. No, whiskey does make you I I. ever since I got off of it. Tequila. I can't drink. I can't drink that. I can't smell it. I've drank tequila three times. I've. been to jail three times. I used to drink the warm in college to.
get a big thing of. Long Island Iced Tea for the golf team. Oh, I remember that. I drank every one. vodka is differently than. I have witnessed than turning a handle. of vodka. up like this, having a vodka drink. Yeah. Right. There's a There's a difference. There's a There's a You've been in jail. three times? Yeah. For what? Uh fighting. It's usually for standing up for. somebody. Yes. To be honest. How many of those fights did you win? I don't know. I was drunk.
You don't even score at that point. A Waffle House, something about Clemons. where young and what was the other one I. can't remember? actually got arrested at Waffle House? Yeah. It's a big story, good talker. That was like before it was cool to get. arrested at Waffle That was before. everybody got arrested at Waffle House. I was standing up. Well, you make I was standing up. up for his girls. He was sponsored by Waffle House for a. while. I love Waffle House. You know what I. You But you know what I did and I think. people should hear this. is what I've always tried to do is take.
a negative and turn it into a positive. Right. It's like so that incident happened and. I had my reasoning and it it was just a. good old fashioned fight. Yeah. Right? Somebody had guns, you know, there was windows dropped and it was. rather violent, you know, things happen, but. you know, it's it's. it's crazy. My record went number one. I. had one number one record in my career. and it was rock and roll Jesus and the. thing went number one the next day. I'm. like. They just keep rewarding me for what. seems like bad behavior. Like but.
know. I went back defending the honor of. a woman at Waffle House. I'm not going. to call that bad. I went back to um. It's a long story but I went back to. that Waffle House much later and had. people come pay money to take a picture, sign autographs and gave it to a local. uh abuse shelter for women. I was like let's do the let's take this. and do something positive out of it. Yeah. You know which I've always tried to have. that mindset. You know, things happen, people get wild, blah blah blah. They. get a little out of hand like.
Yeah, I wish it was more like that. Like. you know, screw you. Here you go. Hey, sorry man. Have you seen the guy you fought? Only in court. Really? He was not happy. Why? He was a rather large black gentleman. Yeah. And uh it was me and my band members and. we're all like little skinny white kids. And. he didn't come out well in that ordeal. Oh, so he was humiliated. bit.
Did you learn anything in prison? What it wasn't prison. It's like jail. for one. No, but when you did the hard time. Yeah, it was like they let us have our. phones. We're like taking like pictures. of the. Are you serious? I'm. What kind of jail. I'm no criminal Trust me, I'm no. hardened criminal from the mean streets. of Romeo, Michigan being raised very. middle to upper class. That's that Did you ever get arrested?
Yeah. I wore the orange suit. How was it? great Hooters ad. What happened? It happened at Hooters. No, it was. actually wasn't even. Wait so you got arrested at Waffle House. and you got arrested at Hooters? Yeah, cuz I didn't have a ride. Yeah. Fair? And the manager was so cool. He said, "Look, I'll put him on my motorcycle. I'll take him back.". I was uh with a. certain great country star. We went on. the road for 3 or 4 days. We were writing songs and stuff and uh I.
had the 100% card. So, of course. I had that card. You got me those cards. Wait, what's a what's a what's a 100%. card? It says on the back of it, if I. remember, Hooters, it's like, "Even. though I make the big bucks. I'm sticking Hooters with. Hooters with with the tab, except for. drinks.". Yeah. They wouldn't pay for your drinks, but. all the food is free. wings. It's the best card on the planet because. Hooters has the best food on the planet. That's a tough sell. You want We'll get you one. Yeah. I've never been to Hooters. one? You've never been to Hooters?
Never. Really? Never. What planet do you live on? know. And I've never been arrested at. Waffle House, and I feel like I've led a. pretty varied and interesting life. But uh. even though I make the big bucks, I'm. sticking Hooters with 100% of the bill, except for the tip. Oh, that's. Except for the tip. Dude, that's almost perfect recall. though. So, that only works at HOA stores. So, like, if you come to the private stores, which is 27 stores. John Daly, Hooters spokesperson. Yeah. That's incredible. Yeah.
That's that's better That's better than. the African American Express card from. American African American Express, the. black card. Yeah. You can't say black card anymore. That thing weighs 10 lb. Wait, wait, so I Sorry, I didn't want to. step on your story. So, you're at. Hooters. and even though you have a 100% card. you wind up leaving on a back of a. motorcycle with a country music star. They got arrested. For a guy was running. his mouth. I was asleep in in my buddy's. bus.
And I got woke up. and uh. get in get out here. I didn't say a word. What are you doing? I was sleeping. Hey, don't give Don't get violent, man. I said, "No, sir. I'm I was sleeping.". Is this the the police? Yeah. And uh where's your ride? I go, "Well, it's in the bus.". And then the guy I was with kind of. kicked me off the bus and. that 100% card paid for all their. drinks, all their food, everywhere we. went. It was during March Madness and he.
wanted to watch the basketball cuz. one of his favorite teams was in there. So, you're just going from Hooters to. Hooters? Well, he was we were going to show to. show and we all love Hooters, so. and I love him today. We're best friends. still, but uh. He says, "I can't have this, you know, I. got this on my bus and all that." I. said, "Dude, whatever. I can get a. flight home, no problem.". And they leave. General Manager comes out. He says, "I'll give you a ride, John. I'll get. you a hotel." And I was going to have. Ona come. get me. We're going to fly home. Puts me in the back of a car because the. other guy was being kind of not so nice.
So, we get to the police station. Misidentity. They thought I was the one raving and. being a lunatic, but it was the other. guy. Comes up. He goes, "Sorry, John. I'm out of here.". So, I stayed. jail cell. Hey, they had ESPN, they had. a meal. It was great. You That doesn't SOUND NO, I YEAH, SO I. MEAN LOOK, I DON'T I DON'T OBVIOUSLY I. DON'T. DRINKING INVOLVED? WAIT, but I was drunk as hell, but I. There you go. But I I went I went to sleep on the bus.
That's. You're sleeping on a bus outside. Hooters, someone wakes you up from a. dead sleep, you're drunk, and then they. just bring you to a prison cell? Yeah. And the chief I met him He found. out who I was. He said, "You can sue the. hell out of us cuz we did mistake the. identity.". Oh, come on. Next next topic. This ain't. going nowhere. I swear to god. He's been thrown out of my shows. No, I got I didn't get thrown out. I had. to sit on the. How do you get thrown out of a Kid Rock. show? I've never been thrown out. We're best. friends. Never been thrown out of a show. no shirt on. He's got a Jim Beam bottle.
tilted like this. Well, I was looking. looking for the crown. I'm like, "Where's John?" They're like, "They had to toss you.". I'm like, "What?". No, they made me sit on the step. Right, yeah. Barely. And I didn't say a word. I was like, "Oh. [ __ ] I don't want to piss him off.". It's just It's just one of those. you were shirtless at a Kid Rock show. I was I had my pants on. I was okay. I. didn't. everywhere. He's got no [ __ ] in his pocket, dude. Yeah, I noticed that.
It's a Kid Rock concert, hell. Girls. take their shirts off, why can't I? I I'd pay to see that. That's called inclusion. Have you Have you been to a lot of his. Equal rights. Let's go politics on this [ __ ]. rights, damn it. Have you been to a lot of his shows? A lot of his, yeah. I've been to shows when he didn't know I. was there. I didn't want to bother him. He goes, "I ain't putting you in that. green room.". Well, come on. The best is in Nashville. We subbed his. dressing room and like saw all these.
people who do these dressing rooms to. impress radio people and stuff and. they're like, "So-and-so group does like. sushi." And they lay out the spread and. they're trying to, you know, like. you know, get in good graces with them, get their songs played, this, that, and. the other. And I'm like, "I'm beyond. that." I'm like, "Fuck it. Put Spam, bologna, some Wonder. Bread, Moon Pies in there, and then put. some liquor in there. Put some vodka, whiskey, and beer.". Oh, but oh, but was Was it Nashville? They were like, "John Daly's back there. making everybody Spam and bologna.
sandwiches.". sandwich. I made a sandwich for your mom. and dad. They was great. It's like his chef. How do you live in modern America like. completely outside the boundaries? Cuz we stay outside the boundaries. We We We just like good people, like-minded people, like Actually, we'll. hang with anybody. We don't care. Somebody's cool, they're cool. That just reminded me of a crazy story. with that. This the cruise we did for like 10. years, the Chillin' the Most cruise. We. had a number one cruise, you know, where.
couple thousand, two, three thousand of. your biggest fans go on there. And there was always people wanting to. do. coverage on it. We let GQ magazine do. one. And that was fine. It was like they. wanted to do reality shows and stuff. I. go, "No, these people are just going to. make fun of my fans and me. This is I. just don't want them around." Well, these two gay kids infiltrated through. another band and they wrote this whole. blog. You could probably Google it. Like. put gay kids Kid Rock Chillin' the Most. Cruise or something. They wrote this.
whole blog about like, "We wanted to go. to the heart of Trump country.". You know, you could see they were going. in there as negative Nancy. And they write this whole article. It. was so endearing cuz at the end they. were like, "We actually had the best time of our. lives.". No one gave a [ __ ] It's like if you're. cool and you want to party, man, come. on. What was it? So, you're on the boat for. a week or whatever it is? It's like four nights or whatever, yeah. Where? It would go to different places, mostly. the Caribbean. You leave out of Miami. I. think we left out of New Orleans.
Couple times. It was but [ __ ] I get. seasick. Yeah. first show was always awesome. I'm on. point. Then that second show I'm like. throwing up in my mouth. Like I can't. get it. It's a trainwreck. So, what's it like to be on a boat with. all your fans? It makes you feel like um. the most blessed, greatest person on. Earth that. these people love you so much and you. love them back and like. and it's it's it's it's crazy cuz. you you feel so good and everyone's.
having such a good time. Like yeah, people are getting messed up, having a. good time, but. guys are opening doors for women, people. are taking care of people when they had. too much to drink. Like everyone's kind. of. for lack of a better term on in the same. boat. Yeah, where else you going. It's just a bunch of like-minded people. having a good time. They don't care. where you're from or what you do. There's people there that work for like. special people in the government. There. was high school principals. Like. you You there's just regular working. class people. There's rich people, like. just like this. And then the bands, you.
know, there's like 12 bands on there. that are all different. I always take an. old school rapper, some country guys, like this, that, and the other. And. everybody's just having the time of. their life. I I I you know, during COVID. we kind of stopped doing them and I'm. I'm pretty confident we always joke like. if I die, people would do this without me. Just to. get together with those people because. they're the ones. that made this. Just like this Rock the. Country thing we're doing. I was talking. to people that we're doing it with. We. want to create a great environment for. them, but I'm like, no one's going to create a better. environment than the people that come.
No, that's totally. That's totally right. Like that's that's going to be the. thing. It's the people. It always is the. people. You know, I'm going to do my. best to entertain them and give them. what they want. So is Jason Aldean and. all the other people, but the people are. going to be what make it. We just got to. give them. If you build it. You know, that type of thing. No, it's totally right. So would you like go down to the bar. after your show and. Oh, yeah. That's the problem. Yeah. Yeah. Casino bar, you want to go see other. bands play. We had comedians on there.
You know, different stuff and you want. to go to all the shows and then. next thing you know, you feel like. you're one of the cruisers and I'm like, "Oh, damn, I got to work.". got to work. Uh it's very tough to maintain because. you're having such a good time with. everybody else. That sounds like a lot. You must have been exhausted by the end. Oh. Never been laid out like that in my life. and Audrey will tell you the same thing. like. the first couple, like maybe first. three, four we did it was like. three, four days to recover. Yeah, I'm.
pretty good at recovery. Like I'm. How do you do it? I'm a seasoned vet. You lay on the. freaking couch. Sit in the sauna. Like but just, you. know, but I would be seasick, too. Like. if you've ever been seasick, I would. rather have the flu. I'd rather be. punched in the face than be seasick. agree with that. And my whole family gets it, you know. I. look at my phone while we're driving and. I'm like, It's terrible. How do you How do you recover after you. have 40 of those? Start drinking again. Is that true? Oh, yeah. Do Do you have like a time limit in the. morning? the horse, you're going to get back on.
that sucker, right? that's right. How's that cigar? It's actually tremendous. Honestly, yeah, it is. Yeah, I don't get to smoke enough of. them. Well, you're going to get plenty of. I try Thank you for that. I'm going to. smoke one every day. So, you don't I mean, even as you age, you don't have problems recovering. Uh not It ain't getting easier. It's not getting easier, but right now, I'm still okay. Cornbread and iced tea has took the. place of pills and 90 proof. Cornbread and iced tea? Oh, Hank Jr. line. Oh, yeah. We used to go to Taco Bell.
on a hangover morning, you know, at like. 10:00 in the morning and order, you. know, four. tacos with extra cheese, big Mountain. Dew, and some chalupas, and then wash it. down with beer and cigarettes, and you. would just say to your body like, "I'm. not. You know, like, "I'm not going to. succumb.". Daddy said. You got to do that 2:00 in the morning, though. Not 10:00 in the morning. No, no, you got to do it 10:00 in the. morning. 2:00 in the morning. 2:00 in the. Because 10:00 in the morning it's so. aggressive that you just say to your. body I mean, I don't drink at all.
anymore, but I used to. just You just have to like reestablish. control. Uh let's say 2:00. Do Do you know what I mean? Like, I'm. not going to kind of put up with that. I don't know what that means. It's 6:00 to 2:00 a.m. is like you're. just getting warmed up. Like, 2:00 a.m. you're like, "All right, let's go.". 10:00 a.m. you're like, Yeah. All right, let's think about this. Yeah, 100. I'm in bed at 10:00 p.m., so. I'm in bed at 10:30. Are you really? I'm up at 3:30, 4:00 a.m. What are you doing at 4:00 a.m.? Checking my emails and stuff. Like, I.
get all my business done. I just get. that time by myself with nobody. bothering me. Do you take a nap? I take a nap every day. Yeah. For how long? 45 minutes to an hour. Do you really every day? Put on a little Bob Ross. Do you Do you really put on Bob Ross? Ah, so calming. Bob Ross, the painter? Yeah, the way his voice I've been doing. it since like when I used to have to. tape it on a. Betamax machine and then I would you. know I was a music nerd.
technical nerd in that space so I. engineered studios and stuff. to this? Do you know who Bob Ross was? Mhm. Uh so I would take those outputs. and put it onto a cassette tape and then. put it in my Walkman. Do you guys know who Bob Ross was? Everybody knows Bob Ross. Everybody knows Bob Ross. So you listen to Bob Ross like a like a. soundtrack? he it's like it's like meditation music. His his voice is just calms me down. You know how you know how I take a nap? Put golf on. Really? That too, that works.
Yeah. No disrespect to the commentators but. man they got the voices that are just. Really I think golf would wind you up. Well they don't show enough shots. Oh, you know when the game's so slow I. got to be putting and he's still oh well. we'll let's we'll come back in a minute. Yeah, they do talk a lot. later he's still hadn't putted. You're. going like okay, there's another. commercial 3 minutes. They talk like all these [ __ ]. Hollywood actors are doing. Have you. noticed this? This is a big pet peeve of. mine. So you're watching some streaming show. or this that and the other and for some.
reason the majority of these people want. to talk like this. Yeah. And you're TRYING TO GET ENGAGED IN THE. SHOW AND THEN the music COMES ON LIKE OH. GOD DAMN IT YOU'RE LIKE GOD DAMN IT. YOU'RE LIKE CAN'T YOU JUST TALK IN a. normal VOICE? IS? I KNOW THAT SOME SCRIPT. know what that is? Sometimes 18 they. have the glass open so if somebody's. putting you can actually hear the echo. If they're talking that's why a lot of. them talk really softly. No I think we're talking on two. different things. In golf I mean. I'm talking about regular like streaming. like movies and [ __ ] like everyone's. like I'm so cool I talk like this.
You're like I can't [ __ ] hear you. Like you're an actor. Maybe you want to. get across the dialogue. I understand. I understand things might. call for a whisper like if a mob guy's. telling something to somebody in the. some whatever show, you're like, but. they all not all, but the majority of. them are like, "Hey, I'm so cool. I talk. like this." I'm like, I can't [ __ ]. hear you. I'm trying to enjoy your show. are you a grandfather now? Uh, twice. I am now. I know, it's unbelievable.
Hey, Junior's got some beautiful kids. Are you Are you a grandfather? Not yet. You're close. Are you encouraging it? You don't have a choice. None of us do. No, let them do what they do. Are you a grandpa yet? I'm not. And I'm bitter about it. You can't be a biblical patriarch until. you're a grandfather. Period. There you go. How old were you when you became a. grandfather? Oh man, my granddaughter's eight and I'm. 52. That's incredible. It gets cold in Detroit.
I had my son when I was 23 and he had my. first grandchild when he was 21. Good for him. We could We could have a chance if I can. keep my [ __ ] together. Maybe I'm five. generations at some point. Easily. You could easily do that. That's. in I. Key point, I got to keep my [ __ ]. together. Do you Do you play guitar? You play. guitar. A little bit. Enough to write. Just enough to write. We've got a guitar. right here. That's a guitar player right there.
No. Look at this thing. What is this for. my granddaughter? It's a baby tailor. I'm having some fun with these drinks. It's good. John Daly, good boy. What was empty?
There you go. Slide it. Slide it, baby. That's awesome. Let me tell you a story. Come on, Johnny. ABOUT THIS SO BAD BOY. When he drinks, he's a good boy. Lord,
there's a lot of joy, and I'm telling. you right now. Only 4.5%. of alcohol. NO ADDED SUGARS, Y'ALL. AND BABY, WE ARE GLUTEN-FREE. YEAH. Come on. Take it, buddy.
That is so awesome. I can't tell you. OUTSTANDING. COME ON. DID. SO, THAT SHIT'S DONE. That was so good. Have you recorded that?
No, I just made it up. Oh, that was amazing. made it up. When you got to gluten-free, then it was. like I wanted to start drinking again. after 21 years. No, you're not having any. I'm drinking. for you. going to. But, uh. that's incredible. Have you guys ever. done alcohol commercials before. together? We never got paid. did one. I just did one. And I am getting paid for this ONE, SO. AND BY THE WAY, will you send him that? Yes. Do you have a drinking problem? TRY GOOD. BOY VODKA. TRY DAILY DRINKS. It's his.
It's his alcoholic drink. How long can you last? Not too many people's out drink me. though, have they? Nobody I've ever seen. How do you do How. do you do that? How do you hit 40 of. those and stay standing? There's no That's what I love about good. boys, there's no carbonation. There's no. bloatness. It's un- This is unbelievable. You piss your brains out on these, which. is a good thing. a good thing. Yeah, well, when you got bladder cancer, you're going to pee a lot anyway, but. Does that increase your. Oh, yeah. I'm sitting here for 30.
minutes and I need to take a piss. I. might have pissed in my pants, I don't. even know it. Oh, [ __ ]. But the But it's not I mean, the. carbonation's probably not the booze. That does not affect you. Are you asking that with a straight. face? I don't know. That was pretty good. I once drank 24 beers on a flight from. Tokyo to Narita. That was my. lifetime. record. And that was a lot for me.
Well, this is definitely. How many hours was that? It's like 12. hours. That's. It's only two. Right, I know, but I'm just saying and I. thought I was kind of impressed by that. that from Vegas to freaking back to. Florida one time. That's impressive. The funniest was we're playing the. I drank that on a flight to Nashville to. Memphis. Phil Mickelson. We're playing the Battle of the Bridges, right? And. it was at lighted golf tournament. I'm. I think it was me and.
Phil. playing Tiger and Hank Haney, I think it. was. Anyway, our John. No, it was Retief Goosen. Retief lit it up, but we got done, right? And it's about a. 400 drive back to the clubhouse in the. cart. I had a six-pack of Miller Lite. back then, ready. Go, T W, you want a You want a beer? Ah, good. I drank all six of them. Gave him the bag that they were in. I. said, "Here, you want to throw those. away?" He goes, "You drank all those?" I. said, "Well, I was thirsty.".
How do you do that? I don't know. Do you punch a hole in the bottom? No, I don't I don't do that. Yeah. People can shoot a beer. One time this. kid from Oklahoma, I'm doing a Boys &. Girls Club tournament at my tournament. uh at my golf course in Dardanelle. This. Oklahoma guy says, And he had a shot He had a beer. Man, shotgunning contest between the kids? That kid from Oklahoma was good, that. 12-year-old. Yeah, he was pretty good. No, this guy. was like, "I bet you 5,000 I could down. a beer before you." I said, "I bet you.
10,000. I could down two beers without using my. hands before you get down with one.". So, I had my bar my girl of Katie come. over and said, "You ready, dude?" So, it's two bottles. of Miller Lite. She's sucking down in my right down. there. I was done. He didn't have half. of his done yet. How do you do that? It's easy. You just got a straight pipe for a. throat. Yeah. Well, now I got the lap band. I. got to can't chug them as like I used. to, but. Does that affect your drinking? Yeah. Well, once it opens up during the day,
then it goes full go like right now. I. could down this in no time. No, you couldn't. He's that guy. I bet you can't. He's like, "I can too.". I bet you can't hit that golf ball at my. neighbor's house, hit his house, and. then do a belly flop in the pool. He's. like, "I can too.". Did it. Did you really? You hit the house with. the golf ball? Well, he didn't like his neighbor. off the like. uh the pool. much. I don't think he liked you guys.
was pissing me off the time. So, he Sparks flying off the like brick. pavers by the pool. And he's like, shh. Sure I can. "Look, I'll hit some balls. You want me to hit some balls?" You had. a bunch of people. Uh what's your boy. that played hockey? Uh your cousin. Um. awesome guy. Chelios? Chelios was there. And I I "Okay, I'll do it as long as you. play some music and play in the pro am. with me.". He thought about it, thought about it, and goes, "All right.". So, I run in my father. I said, "All. right, tour, get ready. Kid Rock's going.
to play in the pro am with me." Put it. down. It was worth it. It was. Did you get him hooked on golf? Yeah. How did you learn. it. The two hardest people that I got. hooked on golf was him and Jamie. Johnson. Yeah, we both we both love it now. Yeah, me and Jamie Johnson the singer? Yeah. Is he a good guy? Uh he's. Oh, greatest guy. Sweetheart. He's the greatest guy. God, he's. talented. Oh, he's so talented. Yes. Yes. He's so talented. He's awesome. One of our favorite people. That's for. sure. He's coming from Miami, Oklahoma.
Going back to Nashville. He came He says. He calls me. He says, "Hey, man, I'm coming to see you." Cuz my house. right off 40 and. I go, "What are you doing?" He goes, "Yeah, I'm going to come play some. golf." I go, "What? No way, you don't play golf." He goes, "Yeah, I need a lesson.". I go, "Oh, here we go.". We sat on the driving range for 4 hours. And uh. sat in the smoke room, had a few drinks, and. and off he went. He goes, "Thank you, bud. Love you. I'll see you at your. tournament.".
He has not missed one of my. charity events. Did he get good? He still struggles cuz Jamie's a Marine. He attacks everything. I go, "You know, you got to. But he commit himself to say He got his. pilot's license. Yeah, he got his pilot's license. He He's He's a smart individual. Oh, brilliant. Very smart. When he sets his mind to. something, he's he's going to do it. Right. Yeah, you want him to talk about planes, let me tell you something. He knows. planes. He knows He's He got He's like, "Rock, when you going to let me take that bird. for a When you going to let me take that. bird for a spin?" I'm like,
"This isn't like, you know, a new dune. buggy. This is not a 172. take it for a spin, per se. No, it's a big plane. He's a sweetheart. But how do you learn golf like in your. midlife? You learn how to pick up. Like anything, I mean. Like I golf with. him and all these pros, you know, in. Majuba, Florida, Dustin and all those. guys, you know, great friends. And I. just learn like, you know, you hit a bad. shot or don't hold the group up. Just. pick it up. Go to the next hole, try hit.
again, hit some shots. It's really a great way I've found. Like. what I love about it is to spend time. uninterrupted in an outdoor setting with. friends. Kind of like hunting. Yes. Yeah. Or something like that. You know, I can. take buddies you know, I went to grade. school with or whatever. We'll go have a. big time at the course. Have some drinks. You know, it's always. beautiful. I love very manicured stuff. and things like that. I'm very organized. person as you said you were and just to. spend that time with friends. uninterrupted with them. That you don't get mad at yourself or. embarrassed when you.
No, I know what I'm good at. It ain't. golf. And they The only club I know he's know. it know he's ever thrown was that Steve. Smith at Jamie's tournament. I've been him a lot of times. He literally threw it right. No, I duffed my shot. I duffed. No, this is on the tee box. I don't remember. I duffed my shot and. Steve's like, "You suck." Blah blah. blah. I'm a partner and I'm like, I was. like, "I'll bet you $100 you can't hit. it past mine." I probably went 20 yards. So he gets his backswing. I take my. driver and I throw it. And he smacks my driver. His ball went. 10 feet. I'm like, "Pay me,
motherfucker.". And then it turned into a [ __ ] show. because I ran over clubs and [ __ ] I. mean. Somebody put sand in somebody's bag. Uh I don't know who that Who did that? Somebody filled up somebody's bag with. sand and you ran over somebody's bag. It. was shenanigans. I was like, "This isn't. golf.". Where was this? Jamie Johnson's in there. Alabama. Down in Mobile, Alabama. No. Montgomery, his golf course. He bought a. golf course, too, after that. Really? And he sold it now, but. What does a golf course. What does that cost? How do you have. It's brutal.
What do you mean? It's probably different It's probably. different pricing in Montgomery, Alabama. than it is in like Long Island, New. York. Wait, is Santa Barbara. My green fees are 40 bucks a round. But if you wanted to buy a golf course. in Arkansas, what would it cost you? Well, it depends on which one it is, but. mine I got, you know, for kind of really. nothing in a way. I mean, it was. the club was struggling and I said I'll. take it over and we built the back nine. in '94, '95. He's got a freaking golf course in. Australia. I'm over touring in.
Australia. He's like, "Oh, hey Bubba, go. to my golf course." I'm like, "Yeah, a. [ __ ] golf course in Australia.". Well, it was my Lloyd Williams. That was. his golf course. Yeah, well, it was your buddy's, but. like you walk in there and you think. it's his cuz he shits everywhere and. there's it's private. There's nobody on. it. Lloyd Williams. Beautiful golf course in the middle of. Australia. I golfed with Shane Warne. God, he was. God, he was a good dude. He was the best. cricket player like. but I didn't know nothing about cricket. Cricket I can't remember you hooked me. up with his stuff. didn't grow up with cricket? No, I didn't grow up with cricket. Cricket cricket was my.
But Shane Shane was unbelievable. He was. like the superstar of Australia. Great. guy. Married Elizabeth Ward, that gorgeous. thing and. Elizabeth Hurley? Hurley, sorry. Elizabeth Hurley. Who's Elizabeth Ward? I don't know. Elizabeth Hurley, but. She's a girl from Darnold. Does she own Montgomery Ward? But she's beautiful. She. I got paired with him in the Dunhill one. year, but anyway, he started one-day. cricket. He was like the baddest cricket player. Like cool dude, man. God bless his soul. that ever lived. He's one of the best.
Yeah, he's one of the best. That's good. Thanks for thanks for. putting me with him. Had a heart attack. At what age? Young. I don't even think he was 50 yet, was. he? I don't know. It was. He died a couple years ago. A little way. a couple years ago. A lot of heart attacks recently. Yeah. Yeah. See, I believe if you keep doing. the same thing. Oh, come on now. You're the last person. I'd expect to take an anti-science. position like that. I had to take that stupid vaccine. [ __ ].
I didn't have to, but it was like they. had me roped in like cuz my dad had. cancer. As cancer like I want to be. around my dad. So, I believed all this. [ __ ] horse [ __ ]. And I But I also came up with the. conclusion, I'm like, Yeah, the [ __ ] I put in my body the last. 25 years, that thing ain't going to. affect me. Exactly what I said. It's exactly what I said. And I'll do it. if I had to. Can anybody prove the election was. stolen? I Apparently not, but just in my. heart, like, there was some shenanigans. going on. I don't know what they were, but.
Just cuz they stopped counting in the. SWING STATES OVERNIGHT? YOU KNOW MORE ABOUT. HAVE A TRUMP AND LOST? IT WAS TOTALLY ON. THE LEVEL. Shut up. Yeah. Why? Insurrectionist. Oh, yeah. Oh, we're Republicans. I'm the erectionist. Hey, we're Republicans. We're Hey, Tucker, we're Republicans. We're racist. and terrorists. Oh, 100%. I'm a Nazi, too, by the way. You know. I'm a transphobic, homophobic, like, claustrophobic, [ __ ] like. You're not claustrophobic or anything. Oh, the greatest thing I'm. claustrophobic, actually. That was true. The greatest thing, that show you did.
with. Whoopi Goldberg, what was that show. called? And that lady, you were on. there, and you called her a. I did that on Fox News. No, no, it wasn't Fox News. Yes, it was. Cuz she called you a racist, and you go, I got a black child, you. [ __ ]. Yeah, exactly. I don't think it went down like that. I was in my hockey tournament with my. granddaughter. I got canceled from a. parade. I did get canceled once from a. parade, but I didn't because I got asked. to do six other parades. I promised my.
granddaughter. she was excited to be in a parade. That's why I was going to do it. Yeah. So, I'm like, we'll find a parade, honey. We found one, this and the other. So, effectively, it didn't cancel me, like, cuz I was turning down parades at that. point. they cancel you? The Cuz I called Joy Behar a [ __ ]. That's what I said. That's fair, though. I mean, truth is a. defense. Man, when you're in this world, when. you're a public figure or whatever, it's. okay to like call somebody out and, you. know, get a little dirty with me. I don't think that if I don't think. there's a single person of 350 million.
in this country who would testify under. oath that Joy Behar is not a [ __ ]. No, she I think she actually said I am a. [ __ ]. course she is. She would say that. That's exactly right. think if you're going to interview one. of the most legendary rock stars that. ever lived, you'd get some information. on him. Why should Joy Behar be exempt from. criticism? Like she can call you a. racist, but you can't point out the. obvious truth that she's a [ __ ] or you. get canceled. No, I can't. I'm awesome at it. Well, I know you are. That's what I did. So, she called you a racist? I don't know what she called me. She. said something about me going to the.
White House. She called you a. and Ted Nugent. They're like, this was a. disgrace or some [ __ ] Whatever she said. and I was just like, poor Steve Doocy. He's like, I got my granddaughter in my. arms. I'm like, I don't mean to curse on your show or. whatever. I'm like, but she's a [ __ ]. And then you know, Steve's all paranoid. He's like, and I love Steve. He's my. neighbor in Florida. Yeah, no. Yeah, I know he is. And they're like, um. He's We come back from commercial. He's. like, you apologize for the language, don't you? I'm like, I do apologize for. that language, not for the sentiment.
Well, exactly. Uh-uh. But also, if you can't point out the. obvious, just right in your face truth. that Joy Behar is a [ __ ]. then you're not a free man. You're a. slave at that. Yeah, yeah. It's totally fine. They call me out, too. It's fine. Like I. said before in our earlier interview, I'm like, what happened to sticks and. stones? I agree. Like, Jesus. Everybody's such a [ __ ] [ __ ]. Yeah. That's like. Do you get asked to do interviews. anymore?
Yeah. That's a good sign, too. Not by. Yeah. I mean, I have turned out This is a. podcast, right? This is a I have turned. out every podcast for the last 3 years. Really? I told everybody I don't do them. But since I love you so much and this is. with my best friend, I'm going to do it. But let me tell you. something. All you people out there, don't be asking me for podcasts cuz I I. ain't doing any more of them unless it's. with you again. That's a tough one cuz everyone's got a. [ __ ] podcast. Everyone's got a podcast. I agree with. that. And uh God bless you. I mean, they're. trying. even know I had a podcast till today,
but I'm honored to have one. I don't I wouldn't call this a podcast. Is it a podcast or not? I have the faintest idea. I don't know. not a podcast. Sorry, but I'm not doing. podcasts anymore. a podcast. Is this a podcast? It's called a. It's a It's a video cast. This is our. This is a John and Bob podcast. out with John, Bob, and Tucker. That's. what it is. Exactly. Yeah, you're just hanging out. We should do our own show. Hell, we we. could make a lot of money. I love that. Could we sponsor it by with food? Oh, we're in. And Joe Bonanno, [ __ ] you. know, he's in. Cigars, you know, my John D. Cigars,
he's got sponsors. We can get this done. And those are really made by the. Bonannos? Dominican, yeah. I have no sponsors. I won't get in bed. with corporate entities cuz that's how. you get canceled. No, but here, my deal is. You got to have like a corporate You got. to be in bed with a corporate entity for. people like to piss at them, and then. they can cancel you. I'm like, yeah, I. don't have any. You have no sponsors? No, not personally. need any. I've had some great ones. I could never get one. I've had some great business deals for. me. I mean, this cigar How good is that. cigar?
He even likes my cigar. To get him to like a cigar or drink that. I have is pretty cuz he's a picky son of. a [ __ ]. [ __ ]. Well, I always give you free [ __ ] well, yeah. Of course he is. Why? He's so. rich. You're the tightest tightest best. friend I've ever known. Hey, let's go. out to dinner. Okay, kid, I'll go out to. dinner with you. Hey, you get the bill. No [ __ ] I always pay the bill. We always pay. We're always back and. forth. pay for everyone. I'll give you that. Yeah, we do. It's cuz we love people. Do you eat at your house? Yeah. That's one of my favorite things to do.
Just have people for dinner. I mean, you could have big dinners at. that house. No, eight. Only eight? Dining room's It's one of my. Dining room's upstairs. The floor spins, overlooks the city, and it seats eight, so six guests. Because you can actually. spend time with people, enjoy their. conversation. with that. You know, having a huge dinner is like. it's tough, you know, to converse with. everybody and, you know, just. No, it's. catch up on things. I don't like to. catch up with people like this. I agree with you.
I'm like, save it. No, I don't need your. Facebook you know, your face tweet. status and like everything you did like. in the last whatever like when I see. you, we'll talk about everything. I love that. great? Yes, I love that. I love memories that don't show up. Yeah. That you actually have to. remember. Yeah. I like turtles. You like. You like what? It's an old [ __ ] some internet [ __ ]. somebody sent me years ago some kid. saying he likes turtles. I'm sorry. No, but a memory's in your brain. Now.
it's on my phone. Social media, it's. everything. It's not really a memory. Well, it also distorts it completely. Yeah. Yes, I'd look at you like you're bucking. the system. I love it like. you know, the thing with Fox went down, they obviously sacrificed you as a. [ __ ] lamb and then you're like you. pop up doing this [ __ ]. I'm like. I can get down with that. Well, yeah, because. you still have a voice. Yeah. You're still getting [ __ ] paid. I'm. like. He's like a. I can get down with that. He's like a He's like a football coach.
He kind of gets fired, but he still gets. paid. Where in the hell I mean, that's. unbelievable. I mean, Nick Saban on. cable news. No, I mean, I did it for too long. Hey, no disrespect to Jimbo Fisher, I. love him to death. A&M coach, 76 million. he's getting paid and he got fired? I. mean. That's a lot. That's a lot of money. That's a lot. Yeah. those corporate heads, too, like you. know, they [ __ ] up and do [ __ ] and they. still get their money. Meanwhile, working class people are like. um. Yeah. Hey.
We didn't have [ __ ] stock options and. [ __ ] and all this stuff like I don't. know. And there's nothing people can do. No, I can sit here and [ __ ] about it. No, I I agree, but it's Yeah. I think it's gotten too expensive for. people to live here. I've noticed. I don't go to the grocery store ever. Well, that's why all the illegal. immigrants and that's why the illegal. immigrants in Chicago and New York I. think I'm going to go back home. Yeah, El Salvador's gotten really nice. Have you been there? Where? El Salvador. Has it? No. El Salvador is one of the worst.
