Can You Outsmart The Traitors’ Producers?
That was a great episode. >> Episode six, a great episode. >> Had it all. Had great traitors, had. twists and turns, and had one of the. all-time great cliffhers as well. All of. which we'll be talking about. >> They certainly delivered on the. cliffhanger. >> Yeah. And a few more people whose heads. are above the parapit who weren't. before. >> Yes. Kenny came to breakfast. Everyone. came to breakfast. >> I mean, holy moly. He was good. >> We got ourselves a traitor there. >> Yeah, we really have. >> I love James just looking at him. Just. going thinking, "Oh, sorry. This is how. you do that, isn't it?
>> Yeah. Amazing. >> It he was as expected. And then there. was a sort of montage of everyone's. crazy theories and James Acasta doing. things like suggesting Michael Romesh. suggesting James Blunt. Leanne is really. lasered in on Ross. >> Yeah. >> Bash v Joanne because she went for him. Yeah. >> Joanne slip up. It's a bad one. It is a. bad one. I I mean part of me was. thinking actually we always talk on. these shows about like what they keep. out of the edit. I wonder whether people. are say because you you can't sort of.
not hawk back to Alan Carr and think is. she just so chaotic and is this all just. a sort of it's this is a brilliant. disguise or is it just Joanne? >> The rest is entertainment is presented. by Octopus Energy whose generation. business backs, builds and manages. renewable energy projects. On screen. though the practicalities of sourcing. power are slightly more negotiable. Certainly in script I mean my favorite. energy source story back to the future. of course they're supposed to have. plutonium they don't have plutonium so.
they were like. >> back in when they go back when they go. back so they need to get 1.21 21 gaw. >> which they get from the lightning strike. which they know is going to happen at. 10:04. Very very clever. Monsters Inc. Now you know where the power source is. Monsters Inc. >> Everything in Monstropolis is powered by. children's screams which is why they. need to sort of harvest them. >> Yeah. May not work in real life. >> on screen. Keeping the lights on does. seem to require an unnecessary amount of. drama. >> Now Octopus Energy Generation has rather. less need for a screenwriter. It backs,
builds, and manages renewable energy. projects with 5.7 gawatt of capacity. across its portfolio. Enough to power. all the homes and businesses of. Birmingham, Leadeds, and Manchester. combined. A slightly more conventional. approach to generating power. It's. tricky for them at the moment because. Richard Grant really threw this whole. show off. It's just about getting back. on its feet now, I think. But yeah, >> they have been shown who the traitors. are very easily. Hannah was clearly a. traitor for lots of reasons. Richard. obviously was clearly a traitor. Um, we'll talk about who they got rid of,
but you know, between Joe and Joanne, both of them seem to be giving them. obvious reasons why they're a traitor, which normally in gameplay you go, that. means they're not. But actually, so far. in this show, it has been the case. The. obvious answer has been the answer, and. so why not go? >> This is ruining it for many, many future. editions of this format. The one where. they told you what was happening. >> Yeah. The one where was obviously the. traces were. >> Joe's Gambit as with every big swing on. this show it backfired. It's he knew it. too as well as soon as he.
>> immediately. >> it was it's so weird if someone like. that who is very clever, very clever, >> very calm actually throughout compared. to many of the other contestants and is. still capable of just having a sort of. brain melt like that. It does show you. what can happen in the you do go insane. in the castle. >> Yeah, I set my own trap. he said. But. again, it's it's it's comedians do a lot. of improv in their sets. They do a lot. of stuff where they're going, "Do you. know what? There's I need to sort of.
heighten the mood somehow and go, I know. what I'll do. >> I'll tell them to recruit me." Just. some, you know, just to kind of get the. atmosphere going. >> And if you were on a tour, you'd just. say, "Yeah, that didn't work the next. night." And not do it again. But. unfortunately, there was suspicions all. over the place. >> Yeah. Poor Joe. >> Ross is now so anxious. That's great. >> He He reminds me I was I was thinking. about this before I was talking to our. producer and I was saying that, you. know, in Stalinrad, both the opposing. generals developed nervous twitches. One. got a really bad eye twitch and the.
other just continually scratched the top. off his hands. I mean that was. Stalingrad, not you know 10 days in. similar 10 days in Yeah. I mean there. similarities. >> I know Anthony Beaver is writing a book. about this series of [laughter]. >> one for the rest of the history fans. there. >> Yeah. But yes, I think there is a level. of anxiety and paranoia now that is. >> Well, isn't it interesting that Ross and. James Blunt seem to be the most anxious. at the moment? Both, you would think. >> Yeah. >> tough guys have a tough guy persona.
Have seen everything, have done. everything, have been in every sort of. difficult, tricky situation. And they. both find themselves, I think, in uh. just slightly crumbling under the. pressure of the thing, which they would. be the last two you would expect. >> Yes. I I'm not I don't think that Ross. Kent would be the last one I expect. because I think there's always a. brittleleness there and that's part of. actually part of him. Yeah, I think so. Um James Blunt now fully identifies as a. singer. [laughter]. >> I'm not a detective. I don't even think. I'm a former army officer. He didn't say.
that. But it's like I I'm literally just. a singer. >> That's you can see behind the eyes he's. going perhaps I wasn't even in the army. cuz it it feel all the evidence is. pointed to the fact I was never in the. army. It really feels like I've thrown. away quite a big career. >> The army career, not the singing career, which I think is safe. >> Uh, but can we talk about Ross and. Leanne a tiny bit because Leanne like a. voice in the wilderness? >> Yeah. >> Is still doggedly pursuing this thing. which is obviously not true in any way. whatsoever. Uh, and she's saying it's.
just you're just around a lot, Ross. You. think yes. We sort of everyone has. >> Yeah. >> commented about that and given their. view as to why that is. And then she. said, "Thing about me is I'm. underestimated." Yeah. >> And I just I'm not picking on her at all. other than to say you get to a point in. life where you realize you are probably. just estimated. >> Don't you think? Like. >> I was so thinking that when I was. watching it, >> some people overestimate you, some. people underestimate you, but by and. large you you are estimated. >> I've been in the one of the biggest girl. bands in the world. She was I was like,
"Yeah, but I mean this is not. necessarily the skill set for deciding. whether or not Ross Kemp has had the. hand on the shoulder." So for example, I. will definitely not underestimate her. talent. I would definitely not. underestimate her ability with her. harmony, with a tune, with a dance, with. with entertainment. But yes, I would. question her talent in working out that. Ross Kemp is so clearly not a traitor. >> Yeah. >> Listen, it's a different skill set. >> It's a very very different skill set. >> If it wasn't a different skill set, that. place would be full of sugar babes. Yeah. >> And and the show would be over in like. in in a day and a half.
Can we talk about the heads. slashquestnaire now in terms of how. successful it was. I thought the some of. the questions were a waste of time. I. wasn't really interested in who had. their head in the clouds. I was. interested in who was considered the. father of the round table and that was a. hair they set running very successfully. >> Yes. Should we get on to Michael Sheen. now or should we deal with the rest of. the challenge? What what what do you. want to do? Cuz that to me that's the. real inciting incident of. >> Yes. I it is the inciting. I can't avoid. it any longer. Let's do Michael. There's. the moment before Michael Sheen became.
self-aware and the moment after he. became not self not self-aware but was. aware that other people were aware of. him. >> Yeah. [clears throat]. >> I think he's really really enjoyed. himself in that castle. >> Yes. >> Just being calm. He's recognizes that. people respect him and that people. listen to him. Not really pushing. anything forward. He's thinking my game. plan here is perfect. And now he's. thought oh I've become an accidental. alpha. >> Somebody has you know I have been. noticed. And Joanne had suggested that. Michael and Miranda were the parents in.
the game and for then him to be. identified as the father of the table on. top of that. >> But my favorite thing about it was and. you can absolutely see it in his eyes. He is torn, utterly torn when he gets. that information cuz he knows two things. at exactly the same time which is, oh. well that's rather lovely. That's nice. It's nice to have that sort of respect. and oh no, I'm in real trouble. >> I'm an actor. I'm incredibly flattered. >> Yes. Yes.
>> Oh my god, I'm an actor and I've been. identified as the father of the round. table. This is danger. >> Both of those things happen at exactly. the same moment. >> And remember, they are always in this. game more suspicious of actors than. anybody. People are so. >> They li think about it. They lie for a. living. As as I always say to Ingred, you know what? You tell the truth for a. living. Am I right? That's acting. That's acting. >> That's lovely. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, >> I'm going to steal that. Um, and okay, so and he's also working on what he. calls our our two big theories. Again,
don't say it. Don't say out loud because. your two theories are useless, which are. Bella was on to something and something. happened in the church with Julie and. Joe. No, neither of these. These are not. >> neither of those things are correct. Yeah. >> In his defense, he's sort of saying that. with in he doesn't really have anything. else to go on at that. So, so he's. going, well, I suppose two things are. sort of and also they're looking for an. excuse. No one wants to vote for anyone. in that place. You can tell, you can. tell how much everyone loves Joe Lyset. And I've yet to meet anyone in the whole. of show business who doesn't love Joe.
Lyset. I mean, he's just a good guy. Yeah. >> Uh and you can tell they're like, "Oh, I'm going to have to vote for Joe." And. I I'm going to have to sit opposite him. I'm going to have to write his name. And. uh by the way, every single person voted. for someone whose name began with Jay, apart from Miranda, the only person. whose name beginning with Jay who didn't. get any votes, James Acasta. But that's. an aside. >> We're going to come back to the voting. Of course we are. Speaking of someone. with names beginning with Jay, Jerry, she is so camp now that it's like she's. Jerry Hall but being played by Jillian. Anderson. I'm absolutely loving it. It's.
hysterical. It's like butter drifting. off of hotcorn. It's like and she said, you know, Joann's made a big mistake. again. She's not wrong about that. >> Yeah. >> And Bash is now like, is Jerry an icon. or a traitor? She's. >> that age old question. >> Yeah. After all this chaos and all this. celebration about the traitors they've. caught, they for, as we said, don't. catch traitors. They find themselves in. the single worst position they've been. in since Joe Lys asked Richard Grant if. he was a traitor. From that moment on,
they were in a strong position. They are. now in a weak position because they got. rid of a traitor. And that turret looks. pretty good now. >> I can't believe I'm going to say that. the turret looks like it's finally by. almost by accident got something. together. >> Yeah. It's like, you know, they bought. Elliot Anderson, you think, "Oh, okay. Okay, this sort of works.". >> Yeah. Kenny just slipped into that so be. so perfectly. >> and so beautifully and everything he did. afterwards, you think for kids, any kids. at home who want to be professional.
traitors in the future, uh, I would say, "Watch this kid.". >> Yeah. >> You know, just watch what he does. Watch. the space he gives himself. >> Yeah. >> You know, >> he's thoughtless. >> He does everything right. >> Yeah. And thinks, what was I doing. earlier? I'll just do that again, but in. a slight. Yeah. It's very, very good. Can I just ask you because I was. interested in this. What theories should. they have? >> Yes, that's a very good question. >> My my Romesh said, "Look, we have to be. honest whether or not they're wrong, but. what is something that you might say, okay, this is something more than I've. just got a bad vibe off you or you know, you you try too hard in task or.
something." Romish is right. Joanne's. votes are suspicious. Very suspicious. >> Um, you know, nei she voted for neither. Richard or Hannah even when it was. really obvious. And there's something. hilarious about her which she was just. like, you know, I'm all about female. friendship and it was so stupid with. Rich. You know, there's perfectly good. reasons for her doing it. Again, Michael's two big theories are not. theories that they should have. >> You've got to have a theory. >> You've got to have something. I think. that Jerry's is good, but that there. should be other things by this stage. We.
are six episodes into. >> I think you have to go back and quote. Professor Joe Mara. >> Yeah. And you have to think about the. big dog theory. You have to think about. how it's produced. You have to think. about what that turret looks like. You. so you know two of the people who were. in there. So you know that Hannah was in. there. You know Richard was in there and. you have to start thinking okay who goes. with that? Or certainly you know that. there were uh right at the very. beginning there were probably two. traitors and one of them was Richard. I'm amazed that they haven't understood. what a big deal in general Maya Jarma is.
and that she actually whether or not. they realize it is a I clearly think. they don't understand. >> what a big kind of cultural deal she is. and therefore she is a big dog I think. >> Oh she's you know you know when you saw. the Maya John doing it you're like oh. wow but they might lots of them might. not know that. Oh, do you think? >> Yes. I think. >> Oh, to me she's like she's absolutely me. as well. The queen of. >> And to lots of the Yeah, but I think. that many comedians has thrown them a. bit, but they should think we're. probably going to have a comedian in.
there. They've stopped talking about. that completely. >> I know. And they absolutely should still. be talking about theory. >> So, here's the theory I would have. I. would say we know at the beginning of. the show the I wouldn't say the. producers because otherwise they. wouldn't keep it in the edit. I would. say at the beginning of the show, Richard is chosen as a traitor with one. other person. Yeah. Let's have a little. think about what that fit would be. It. probably wouldn't be Richard and. Michael. >> It's going to be a woman. >> It's almost certainly going to be a. woman. >> Most likely to be a woman. >> Yeah. Probably someone much younger. >> And probably somebody who has a head on.
their shoulders. Yeah. >> Right. Not an agent of chaos cuz you're. not going to start the whole show with. two agents of chaos. No, it's not. It's. not going to happen. And once you start. putting those parameters into place, there's actually very few names out. there. You know that Hannah was um. recruited, so you know she wasn't there. from the beginning. So you're thinking, well, who is that? So. >> not Joanne, agent of chaos. Not Jerry, agent of chaos. Sharon, probably not. Sharon and Richard, >> they're just not I they're not going to. have gone for it. >> Yeah, I wouldn't have thought so. Who's.
left? Miranda? Yes, possibly. >> Yeah. >> Maya, I mean, >> but I think Miranda almost certainly not. >> give off very very good faithful vibes. and there is an authenticity to it that. is is authentic. But then were I in the. castle and I wasn't under threat and I. had that theory, I wouldn't necessarily. talk about it because why would you at. this stage of the game if I was. thinking? Because my head would always. be I'd go back to my room and I'd be. thinking, >> okay, what are those clowns at Studio.
Lambert trying to pull over on me now? What are they what are they up to? >> How can I avoid possession of the ball. in any way? Yes, exactly. Got. >> three whole episodes till this game. ends. >> And I'd be thinking, okay, I've got. Richard. Who do I put with Richard? >> Yeah, >> that's all I'd be thinking. And if I. thought Maya, >> I'd then spend the rest of the game. getting as close as I could to Maya. >> Yes, >> I'm not threatening Maya. I mean, that's. crazy. >> You mustn't threaten Maya. And and. obviously, you don't know, but she is. now got an incredibly good sidekick. >> Couple of production notes about the.
task as I was watching it. Firstly, it. would have been very possible to. engineer exactly what happened because. they put them in the cars and they knew. which cars they were in and they knew. who'd voted for who and so they knew for. the first two questions for example that. most of the people voted for the right. answer and they knew for the third. question it was mixed. So, I'm. absolutely not saying they that is what. they did, but if you were, for example, having a busy day and you needed to get. that task over with quickly and you. needed not to have a tie break, for. example, it would have been a very very.
easy way to do that. Again, absolutely. not saying that's what they did, but. that's you just think they would have. known cuz immediately they're going, "Oh, I voted for so and so. I voted for. so and so." And it was a it was a. majority each time. And the last one. where obviously they want to give away a. shield, it was much more split. always, always, always with Studio Lab or with. any other production company, they know. it's better if you don't engineer in any. way whatsoever because weird unexpected. things happen. So, I suspect they didn't. do that, but just from a production. point of view, they could have done it. One thing I think they did do knowing.
the murder they had coming up, they. couldn't afford to have a Secret Shield. giveaway. >> No. >> So, it was it was. >> Yes, I see. So, yeah. >> So, they couldn't have half of the. people suddenly out of the uh running. I. mean, it would have been okay because. Maya would have been in that group. anyway, but it's they had to have a. public shield giveaway just so they. didn't ruin their rather fun end of. show, which we will get to. Um, can I. say my favorite bit of pretty much the. whole episode. >> Yeah.
>> Was James Blunt and Ross sitting down. together. Yeah. >> And just having a chat. I found it very, very moving. It's like two fathers whose. kids have started dating and they're. left alone in a room for the first time. together. >> and just sort of going, "So, yeah, it's. uh yeah, I don't know. How did you get. here?" A4. >> Uh yeah. No. Yes. Actually, not not. terrible cuz the B271 is I just. >> There was Steve and Tony from We Solve. Murders in that. Yeah, there really was.
>> I find it very moving as well. They. needed each other. I thought I. >> One of those lovely vignettes. there is. a after. >> you don't get the sense that either of. those two have made sort of like sort of. friendships you know you could obviously. see that Miranda and Joe Lys were loved. each other and blah blah and there and. that there are other alliances and. friendships and people hanging out. there's a male loneliness there. >> there is a male loneliness with both of. them in which I'm sure is not the case. outside the castle but definitely inside. the castle it's a classic case of male. loneliness and I I I sort of liked. seeing them talk to each other but again.
they were they were unable to quite. break through but one of those lovely. vignettes is another beautiful vignette. uh later on in the show which we'll talk. about after the break as well as talking. about the banishment the round table and. as well as talking about that brilliant. brilliant day numan. >> right let's go to a break. [music]. >> this episode is brought to you by our. friends at Lloyds.
>> now let's talk about movie con artists. who are your absolute favorites. >> movie, TV, and book. My answer is the. same and it's Tom Ripley. >> I was going to say him. It's one of the. greatest characters of all time. >> So, from the Talented Mr. Ripley books. by Patricia Highmith, there's five of. them. So, if you like Talented Mr. Ripley, you are in luck. He is like one. of the worst men in the world, but you. absolutely you root for him at all. times. >> Now, of course, deception makes for. excellent entertainment on screen. In. real life, when it's your bank account.
being targeted, the charm somewhat. disappears. >> Yep. Lloyds have invested 100 million. pounds in Darkhorse anti-fraud. technology, which combines intelligent. monitoring and real-time alerts to keep. you safe from fraud. >> Click on their app or visit. lloydsbank.com to find out more about. how Lloyds protects you from fraud. AI. powered scam checks, voice biometrics, and realtime alerts are just some of the. ways Lloyds are protecting you. Based on. Lloyd's banking group data, 2023 to.
2025. Welcome back everybody. Again, I got to. reiterate, classic [music] episode. >> this. Yeah, a lot going on. >> Old school great traitors. >> Yeah, we do know now that the final is. going to be on the 30th of October. So, we'll be. >> reacting to that right after. >> Not me, cuz I'm doing beat Loot Litler. in what what they're already calling the. Barbenheimer of British television. Yes. Where it's Celebrity Traitors, the final. of Last One Laughing and Beat Loot.
Little on the same night. It's an. interesting scheduling choice, >> but R's Entertainment will still be. here. >> Yeah. And I will be here with the. wonderful Tim H, who lots of our um. listeners will know from our Big Brother. episodes, who is absolutely terrific and. who is goes so way back with you, Richard. >> Yes. And he has he has the same skill. set as I do in terms of working out how. brain. >> how someone's produced something. Yeah, exactly. >> Okay, let's go to the round table. Um, open opening gambit was Kenny. Did you. get recruited, Joe? I mean, I mean,
>> he's so ice cold. >> He's so good. >> He's so good. >> If Aaron Sawin was writing the Traitors, that's what he would go, you know what? I'm gonna have Kenny go straight in. saying, "Did you get recruited?". >> I mean, he aced it. >> Yeah, >> absolutely aced it. >> That's a hell of a character note. >> I mean, Joe's defense was pretty good, but he has done an absolutely mad thing. and having been so instrumental in. Richard's mad thing. >> Yeah. >> Let's break out Shakespearean Greek. tragedy. There's something about it that. like oh my gosh the dramatic irony of. saying I literally just asked him and he.
told me he's a traitor and then you've. gone and done something that's just one. rung down from that in terms of. >> it has exactly the same impact and. exactly the same results. >> Clearly it does get to you being in the. castle. >> Yeah. And it is again that thing of. ordinarily you have to look away from. those things. They're too obvious. But. this is a group of faithfuls for whom. the obvious has actually been incredibly. helpful. You know Richard and Hannah. they both sort of knew. So, I absolutely. don't blame them for thinking this has. to be Joanna or Joe surely. I mean, they're showing obvious signs because. everyone else they've got out has been.
obvious. They now find themselves in a. very unfortunate position which is they. have two people in that turret who are. not going to be obvious anytime soon. I. mean, James, by the way, is also playing. a blinder. Whether he can continue to. play a blinder, I'm not sure. But he is. genuinely uh oh my god that brilliant. discussion [laughter] before the round. table again. One of my favorite ever. discussions in traitors where Kenny and. James. >> talking about whether Joe got recruited. and they go that's 5050 room 50/50 just.
James just goes no way of knowing. >> in an empty room not for the benefit of. no one but themselves. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I love that. >> Okay. So again Leanne goes for Ross. >> Ross. Oh boy. I mean Ross is hanging by. a thread now. He's angry at being used. by them is one of the lines. >> The whole weird sort of chivalry, >> let's give the key to the woman thing. You know, I wear my heart in my sleep. He was leaving it, you know, all out. there. >> But also slightly full that was slightly. full of holes that through from Ross.
>> Yes. >> As well because because it's, you know, if if she was a traitor, >> you cannot be expecting logic from this. guy right now. >> But you can't expect logic from anyone. at the moment. [clears throat] But yeah, he is. But it's it's funny because. again, we're talking about perhaps some. of these contestants don't know who Maya. Jama is. Leanne clearly has no idea who. Ross Kemp is because she says, "You seem. to overreact to everything." And he. goes, >> "I wear my heart on my sleeve." And you. think anyone who knows Ross Kemp, anyone. who's watched Ross Kemp react to a. football game is like, "Oh, no. This is. this is quite lowkey Ross Kemp.".
>> But you don't get the sense as I I just. mentioned this bit. I don't get the. sense that he's forming useful alliances. because he cannot let his guard he's so. paralyzed. He can't let his guard down. enough to make those. and Miranda who. said in the previous episode, "Oh, he's. so unknowable." When they were in the. billiard room, she was trying to sort of. get to him and saying, you know, which. which Ross Kemp are you? The one on the. I'm the one on the documentaries, not. Grant Mitchell sort of. >> Yeah, I know. Which is something he's. said to like a million people who's. asked for selfies. Yeah. Who said, "All.
right, Grant." And he goes, "Actually, sorry. Most of my career is actually I'm. a documentarian now.". >> James Acaster again, as you say, he is. playing well now. And he said, "I'm. looking at all the chaotic characters. This is not a bad play from him. It will. add more chaos. >> Yeah. >> Now Joanne again is start Joan's points. are very good. She says, "I do not want. to be like a sheep just holding the same. name.". >> The herd mentality is not useful. >> My god, they're hering in this. I've. never seen hering as much as in this. one. They all do exactly the same thing.
and they say, "We'll be led by the. table." Which was a line from earlier in. the episode. Yeah, it's she is 100%. right in saying you keep saying don't. hurt and then you keep having a go at me. >> for not hurting. And what's the response. to that charge? You don't have one. I. mean because she's absolutely right. I. mean her scatter gun approach is not. landing on anything useful. No, but it's. quite useful to have a scattergun. approach to remind people that you are. allowed to do that cuz actually every. vote pretty much so far has been fairly. cut and dried. >> I've never seen it quite so cut and.
dried as that. >> Yeah. the poor the poor producers trying. to get some jeopardy into these. >> rounds. And that's why I felt like that. the questions in the mission should have. been things like there should have been. a couple more of you know who's the. weakest person in the game or who's the. something that could they may be. thinking we literally can't afford to. introduce yet another layer of paranoia. to this game. >> Can we just calm down for a minute so we. can't? But I I would have done things. that maybe would just kind of cause them.
to have to react or to or different kind. of schisms or whatever to develop and so. that you don't just get these kind of. constant what feels like 15 votes for. one person. >> Yeah, exactly. I mean that that can't go. on forever, I don't think. But but. listen, as you say, they're hurting, but. at some point people they've got to. break out from that. They've got to. they've got to start becoming a bit more. factional. They're just not being. factional at the moment at all. You. know, you were you were saying last time. about that there have been so few gossip. moments or you know kind of oh my god I. have absolutely no idea which way this.
round table is going to go. I think. pretty much before every round table. we've had a fairly good idea of the. direction of travel and certainly by the. time the first five or six people have. voted you have and that's quite unusual. >> and Joe helped them out with a slip up. as well saying I mean I don't you know. just forgetting to say the one thing. >> yeah if I was a traitor then they would. have to. >> No which by the way he did say. >> I mean he actually said it it was very. very round about what he was trying to. say. >> I knew what he was trying to say. >> it was misunderstood and then you're.
like oh I can't. There's absolutely. nothing you can do there. But yeah, he. was he was doomed because of the, you. know, and it's not a crazy way to play. the game, you know. C it certainly keeps. you safe. >> Yeah. >> Because you're not having, you know, let. somebody else have a theory. You sit. behind it. I mean, there are a number of. people there doing, I think, what I was. saying earlier, which is I am going to. keep my theories to myself. I'm going to. fall in line. >> Extreme people. >> Yeah. I'll fall in line about it. It's. getting quite late for them not to have. >> cuz they're not discuss. Well, I think. you could I think you could get people.
to reveal themselves if the votes were. more split here because people would be. fighting for the their corner more and. you could at the moment it's just like. everyone piles in on the same one person. and as a result the round table isn't a. very useful information gathering. exercise which you kind of need it to be. at this point. People must under the. pressure of it stumble into revealing. themselves one way or another or or at. least saying something that's. >> the most useful thing you could be doing. is when the person reveals themselves as. a faithful traitor to be looking at your. fellow players and it's very hard to do.
that. I think probably again you would. be called out for not it's like oh Joe. was just about to say whether there's a. faithful traitor you're not even. looking. >> Yeah. >> You know you'd be like yeah cuz I but. that you want to see the reaction of. people that's the hardest thing. That's. the only Yes, I agree. And Miranda. couldn't vote for Joe cuz she loved him. so much. >> And so she voted for Ross. And James. Acasta said, "Come on, Ross. That is. funny. That is funny." Nope. He did not. find it funny. Ross did not find it. funny. >> Ross is like, "Honestly, I've had enough.
of this. >> I've had it. You needed to get back.". >> It was an unusual choice from Miranda. I. guess I don't know who else you would uh. vote for. By the way, >> she finds him unknowable. We know this. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I absolutely She is. MVP. 100%. >> by quite some way, right? >> Yeah. >> I mean, I like that when she goes, "We. must," and again, this is the problem. when you're in the castle. She's going, "I know that we must not trust our gut. I know that." But then, what if I'm a. genius?
>> She's Yeah, she's she's very She has. been an a brilliant booking. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> She's done very well on it. Um, >> can I give an absolute shout out, by the. way, to to the booker, Ross Phillips, who who did she's done loads of shows. the first ever strictly. So, she books. the celebrities and but it's not just a. booking job. You're also there. >> as the kind of liaison between the you. we talked yesterday about the production. and the talent and you know what hard. relationship that was. >> Uh and and and can be on shows and she's. right in the middle of that and I've. never heard anyone say a bad word about.
her either. People absolutely love Ros. and that's a tough job. She's got all. those people for 10 days all locked up. and she's having to sort of go between. here and between there and between. there. Uh, and Ros is amazing. I'm. hoping that she's in the middle of. casting the third one at the moment. I. don't know if she is. >> By the way, if Ros Phillips is. listening, we were doing a little. trailer for Rest is football and we. stumbled across the fact that Michael. Richards would be the best ever. contestant. >> Michael Richards would be an incredible. booking. Ros, please consider. >> incredible. With someone like that, you. have to think, would you be a great. faithful? Yes. Would you be a great.
traitor? Yes. Micah Richards. >> No shade on the other two except some. shade. >> Oh, they wouldn't want to do it though. Micah, you might be able to persuade. >> Yes. >> What a great job on this series, right? >> Absolutely. I mean, Ross, Jerry, Miranda, Kenny, who people didn't know. Just pulling these names out and putting. them together. I think I think it's been. great. But Miranda, I think, weirdly, might be the best casting of all. And we. we probably wouldn't have predicted. that. >> No, we know we didn't predict that. She. does cry in this. We thought that she.
might [clears throat]. over emotional, but she does cry in. this, but it's very I mean, it's. >> it's really beautiful. Yeah, it was. lovely. >> I thought it was really talking about. how, you know, life is about joy and. laughter and friendship. >> Yeah. >> The the thing about this game is, as I. always say, you don't have to talk about. your personal life in this game. You're. playing this rather high status game and. it's all very glam and, you know, aspirational, but she did actually talk. about her life and what she's gone. through over the past few years. I. thought that was quite you just don't. see it. People don't talk about the. outside in that way. It was it was it.
was good and they sort of did it through. the banisters as to not kind of. interfere on it. >> and she was talking to James and James. was very is a very good person to talk. to about stuff like that again because. he's got he's he's so empathetic but I. thought it was really beautiful. I. thought it sounded very very truthful as. well. >> Uh and I thought god what a lovely. >> thing to watch on television in the. middle of an insane game. She's not. cynical, but as a byproduct, Richard, >> it's very very reinforcing of the idea. of her being a faithful as a byproduct.
Yeah. And I realize she there's no. there's not one% of me suggesting she. did it cynically. No. >> Although the only person she was. massively persuading there that she was. a faithful was James and he already. knows. >> But everyone else knows she cried. If if. someone's cried, everyone's like. Miranda's crying. You you know that. everyone they would have all known it. was happening. >> If it was if it was me, I'd be like, "Yeah, but I tra crying cuz he's a. traitor." They they've been friends in. the turret. Why are they so close? They're so close. They're together every. evening. Oh my god. I would just go in. there and throw anything out. >> I know you would. Um I have to say that.
then when they went back to the bar and. drown was like, "Right, I know nothing. And I've made a big mistake." And Maya. was like, it was a little bit passive. aggressive, you know. Yeah, it was a big. mistake, hun. I thought knowing Joan's. personality. >> I do not I feel that Maya may. >> the gut Joan's amazing gut that may. actually a light on a correct traitor. I. think that she might swing round and say. okay I would like to find out more about. you because she's obviously looking to.
do something different to the group and. she will start saying we've all heard it. and we keep being wrong. we're now going. to do I want to choose someone. completely different. And that moment I. thought was handled in a way that just. might. >> peak her interest in admire next. >> It it sort of feels like whoever Joanne. goes for. it might not be taken as seriously. >> It might not but it will sew some sort. of seed cuz some people are going to. have to start doing this. >> Of course. Of course. We look at Michael.
now and Michael for the first time. >> Michael is aware that his name is. hovering slightly above the pelaton. where he rather it was. He's aware he's. in the little breakaway group at the. front of the course now. Uh and it'll be. interesting to see how he he handles. next week's show. Shall we talk about. that amazing. >> the murder in plain sight? Without any. question the hardest murder in plain. sight task. Can I just. >> I thought it was easy. >> Oh did you? Okay. Can I just just forget. to remind people what it is? Call bored.
to death or bored to death. >> You've got to find that spray which they. do know where that is. Spray it in one. room, whatever room you're going to use. >> Yawn to make them yawn. >> Well, or you have to make them yawn. >> You've got to make them yawn and then. seal it with am I boring you. >> If you think that's easy, >> I think that's which part of that is. difficult. >> Well, touching someone's face is what. Alan Carr has to do with PL, but that's. easy. >> Everybody sees that. Everybody sees. that. So, take me through whether. spraying that perfume is difficult. >> No, it's not. That's not difficult.
>> Okay. >> I think I think making someone yawn is. difficult. >> I really We end with our three heroes, our three musketeers in a room and they. have Jerry. This, by the way, kudos to. the producers and editors for this. beautiful sequence. Miranda's dancing. with uh with Leanne at the same time. >> That doesn't win best cinematography at. the Oscar. at the Academy Awards. Oscars. at the Oscars. >> It was so beautifully put together. So, is it hard to make two people who are.
both over 60 and who have been out in. the fresh air all day doing something. quite physically demanding and then it's. quite late at night in a warm room. You're saying it is difficult to make. either one of those two. >> Well, it seemed to be, didn't it, Richard? >> Well, in the edit. >> Okay, we'll see. I do you think. >> Do you think that would be difficult? I. mean firstly if you yawn someone else. yawns. >> I think. >> poor Maya. >> I don't necessarily and I know people. say that yeah because you're a sociopath.
>> okay. >> what's some of my answers last episode. were quite sociopathic I acknowledge. that um. >> you're not a sociopath. >> but but you're occasionally sociopath uh. presenting. [sighs and gasps]. >> I'll accept it what if nobody yawns. >> well I mean we weren't told at what time. it finishes there's But it was always it. was like the doomsday clock. It was 1. minute to midnight the whole time. >> Yeah. And there's a sand timer. We. didn't mention the sand timer. >> Yeah. >> You know, that's in in this cutaway.
It's not in any of the wide shots. >> Um those people that have produced this. show for a long time. They're aware of. everyone's everyone is literally just. about to go to bed, right? They are all. about to go to bed and they have. stumbled upon the two oldest people in. the castle. Everyone is yawning. Maya. yawned so much. And so. I I think it will be. >> it will they will look back on it. knowing that someone was murdered in. plain sight and actually from the.
editing no you don't think you think. >> not in a million years and also saying. oh god sorry am I boring you is such is. the easiest thing in the world to say. you know someone yours go am I boring. you Jerry I mean it's such an easy task. I think. >> I thought it was by far the hardest so. okay. >> going into a room and spraying a bit of. perfume. Going to an empty room and. spraying perfume. >> But I think making someone you're in is. hard. >> Being in a castle full of people who've. been in the fresh air all day and are. now in a warm castle and and are about.
to go to bed. and then afterwards just having to say. sorry if they managed to put it on. >> You're not having to do a Shakespearean. soliloquy or something. You're not. having to do what Alan had to do or. you're not having to sort of readjust. someone's clothing or pour somebody a. drink. >> Touching someone's face is easy. >> No. No. Much harder. do that in a. heartbeat. >> Yeah, but I could make someone But I can. make someone yawn in a heartbeat and. I've done it a lot of times during my. career. It's one of my specialtities. No, but it's easy to make someone yawn.
Is it? Well, I'll I will give a code. It. is. >> take that off them. If they pull this. one off, I'm impressed. >> It is easy to make a really tired person. yawn. And that's what you're dealing. with there. It's a long day. >> Yeah. >> You know, and they they do have the two. oldest people there. There's no way. they're not yawning. Who do you think. will yawn first, Richard? >> I mean, genuinely, it's completely it's. an absolute but it's a shame because I I. wouldn't want either of them to go. because they they they bring a color to. that uh castle that uh will miss when.
they're gone, but you know, it it. happens a lot. People go in this show. and someone else. >> People die, Richard. People die. >> People do die. Yeah, they do. >> Can't go on forever. >> It can't go on forever. But yeah, some. they were definitely you on. Honestly, I. think that's the um I think that's the. easiest killing in plain sight. of all time. >> Right. Well, we disagree on that, but it. was incredibly watchable. Who knew? >> Oh, it was so brilliant. And you just. knew as we were watching this brand new. format, which is essentially is Last One. Laughing, but for yawns. So, we're.
watching Last One Yawning, and you're. just looking at the the time and you're. going, you're cutting away from this. before anyone yawns, aren't you? You are. leaving this till next Thursday. >> to show me who yawns. I was absolutely. furious but I was furious and at the. same time applauding. >> good but also when it has been it's kind. of tense and there were moments where I. thought I wonder if something was cut. out at this round table or whatever. there James seemed to have a bit of a. wobble in his James Blunt had a bit of a. wobble in his voice but I to end it on.
the most ridiculous like who is going to. yawn here. >> Yeah absolutely brilliant and with three. traitors who are finally. >> worthy of the name. I mean, listen, I. know Hannah was worthy of the mint, but. she was she was she was. a purchase from the beginning. Exactly. But three people who genuinely have no. suspicion on them, who are working. together as a team and have a great. skill set, sitting down with two of the. iconic players in the game, and one of. them is about to yawn and we got to wait. a week to find out. I mean, that's. telly, isn't it?
>> That is television. >> Yeah. I love it. I love it. Congratulations to everyone involved. >> Yeah, we will. It's incredibly hard not. to. We just see you every day at the. moment. But. >> I know it should be on every night this. show. >> We will. >> Not our show, The Celeb Traers. >> Yeah, we will see you next Tuesday. Yeah, we'll see you for a regular. episode next Tuesday, but we'll be back. in next Thursday as well to see who. yawns first.
