The Greatest Coup In Traitors History
[music]. Hello and welcome to this Traitors. reaction episode of The Rest is. Entertainment. I'm Marina Hyde. >> and I'm Richard Osma. Hi everybody. Hello, Richard. How are you?
>> Very, very well. We just watched. Traitors episode 7. >> Episode seven. >> Have a little chat to it. And listen, anyone who entered the sweep stake of. which person leaving traitors would. quote Shakespeare, uh, I think we've all. just won. Yeah, it was of course. >> it was of course Ross Ken, >> our sweet prince. >> He didn't get that. That is quite an. ironic quote, but whatever. I'm not. going to Yeah. To thy known self be. true, which is uh Hamlet. Never mind. We. won't get into his reading of Hamlet, but he departs. He departs the castle.
The thing that he feared most happened. to him, but. >> often the careful what you wish for, right? >> Yeah. But he he didn't realize it was. happening. So perhaps at least he wasn't. thinking, "Oh my god, it's happening to. me right now while it was happening.". >> Yeah. But one of the single most. >> nothing about it, Richard. He would have. known nothing about it. >> Honestly, it was very peaceful. It was. very peaceful. Um Yeah. But one of the. most ironic ever murders in the castle. I think he didn't even need to put a hat. on it. >> Yeah. As James Acastaster, uh, who we're. gonna have to have a whole section on, I.
mean, a whole section towards the end. Um, but he did actually say something he. said which made me think, "Oh, yeah, you're right. It was actually impossible. really for them to get anyone to sort of. there was no strategy to that murder. It. was just anyone. You couldn't choose. It. was anyone who came in." Um, and I I you. know, I know you did you didn't think it. was that hard, but I did think a it was. really hard to do it and b the idea of. strategically targeting that at anyone. specific. >> You can't strategically I just I just. have to stop for one second. If you are.
continuing on this thing of saying that. was a hard murder to do when it was the. single easiest murder in the history of. traitors. >> Okay, we're going to have to disagree. We said last time they're sitting in the. room with two people in their 60s and. 70s who've been out all day and who were. sitting in front of a warm fire in a. library and are about to go to bed and. all they have to do is wait for one of. them to yawn. >> I wonder if Jerry yawned after him. We. didn't see that you Okay. >> Yeah. But it it was edited so.
beautifully and again and the recap was. edited beautifully as well. And I should. tell you why it was edited so. beautifully like that because it took. two seconds. >> It took two seconds. Of course it did. They what? Ross sat down. He's. knackered, >> right? He's been running around all day. He's tired. He's about He is literally. about to go to bed. How much more yawn. friendly do you want somebody to be? He. would have sat down. They would have. said one thing to him. He yawned. James. would have said, "Sorry, am I boring. you?" He gives a smile. Done. And then. we think, "Oh, how are we going to build.
this in the edit?" And they built it. They built it beautifully. >> Yeah. Now, if I was James in that. situation, I would have done the same. thing, which is you're not going to win. that task as the traitors. You're just. not. So, you know what? Just let them. get on and build that, you know, and. build shields. Try and nick a couple of. off it. And if towards the end of the. thing, it looks like everyone's going to. get a shield. Maybe venture out, steal a. couple of bits and bobs. You're not. going to complete that shield. So, if I. was a caster, I would have done the same. thing other than I would have lifted my.
blindfold. the bare minimum. The. absolute bare minimum. >> Feels that feels at least make eye. contact. >> Yeah, he can he can better see their. judgment. >> Feels. Yeah. But that that that feels. that Yes. It would be interesting to. know why he thought, "No, I'm just going. to stay I want to see this.". >> It's like a kid if they got their eyes. shut, then that thing didn't happen. >> Yeah. >> You know, I did not just steal those. sweets. If I if id stos, why are my eyes. shut? >> It feels like in a again in a in a. different grouping of people that would. come back on him. we discover later on.
it doesn't really and again because he's. a comedian and he ended it beautifully. in in in the turret at the end just by. saying in my defense uh for the first. time I really enjoyed being traded. because I enjoyed killing Boss Kemp and. you can see immediately Mera and Kenny. are like a that's nice he's like an. errant son who has come back from. [clears throat] university and he's got. himself a job for the holidays like oh. do you know what actually we're very. proud of you. >> we are returning to him in the second. half because I've got a lot more to say. on how it all ended. >> oh really oh fantastic I should look.
forward to that. >> as the next morning breakfast. Um, Michael, we've got to talk about. Michael's intuitions are very good and. then at the last minute they deviate in. a completely wrong direction. But he he. has very very good instincts. Yeah. >> And but they go wrong when he starts. developing them into theories. But his. instinct that there had been a murder in. plain sight was of course absolutely. correct. >> And so he was mentioning all of them at. breakfast. I liked it when Joanne said, "I've had my suspicions about Leanne. from the start." Okay. Later in this.
episode, Jan will Leanne will say, "We. had to start targeting the chaotic. people in this game." Okay. [laughter]. >> No. By the way, Joanne at the end also. says, "It's time we we start targeting. the chaotic people." You think you want. to be you want to be careful cuz that's. going to be an even more ironic murder. than than Ross Kemp. But I think um the. general theory in the in the turret is. it was a good chaos murder. And I think. it was a good chaos murder. Michael. immediately turns on Leanne. Leanne, by. the way, if this was a murder board in a. police station would would have had.
about five bits of red string pointed. all pointed towards this time. Yeah. Uh. but but none of them stuck in the end. But it seems obvious from outside that. she's not a traitor, but any reason. anyone can have to accuse Leanne of. anything they they tend to take. >> I can't believe she won't be next, but. we'll we'll have to get to that. Um. arguably, we knew we were saying goodbye. to Jerry in this episode because we had. some wallto-wall Jerry Gold throughout. this. Yeah. Um, Jerry's all the Jerry's. all gold. The Monty Dawn, the love for.
Monty Dawn. Um, Jerry talking about. James Blunt. His face is redder than a. fox's ass at Gizbury time. Just stick. her in the next series of True. Detective. I She She was repeatedly. described throughout the episode as. iconic, which I think is their word for. suspicious. >> Yes. >> The celebrity euphemism for suspicious. >> It's It's a celebrity euphemism for. someone who is as famous as me, but. older. >> Yeah. >> And Yeah. And but anyway, we knew I you. could sort of feel she might be going. because she had so much screen time in.
this and and wasted none of it really. >> So Michael turns on Leanne. Then later. on after the uh breakfast this thing so. the whole day was was essentially let's. get Leanne. >> Um and the theory starts being expounded. by Michael. And I'll just say at the end. of this theory that at the end of it. Joanne said that makes perfect sense. which tells you how good a theory it was. that somehow Leanne teaching Miranda to. do a dance was evidence that she was. covering up for the fact that she had.
just murdered somebody. >> Yeah. >> But it's I mean even OJ didn't do that. [laughter]. >> Even OJ didn't go, "Come on, Miranda, let's twerk.". >> Yeah, it Yes. It's it's it's so far. removed from something that a a good. traitor would do and b even further. removed from what Leanne would do that. it's it beggars belief. And as I say, if. you finish your sentence and Joanne. says, "Yeah, that makes perfect sense.". You're like, "Oh god, I've got to I have. to start again.". >> Yeah, he is instinctive. He has the He.
has an instinct that then just goes. wrong at the. >> He has a useful instinct, though. It is. a very useful thing to have. I suspect, by the way, if he hadn't got a shield, which we will talk about, he might have. been in trouble. I think I think I keep. I keep thinking he's the perfect murder. victim for the. >> He can't keep it down now. He says. things all the time and he knows he has. to. Exactly. >> But he he can't stop doing it. >> Yeah. Exactly. He's he's becoming his. own worst enemy and he knows it. He You. can't play the game another way. You. have to at some point. >> start doing stuff and that's what he's. doing. And that immediately makes him. dangerous, I think, because of his.
status. >> Yes. Everyone's being forced into some. sort of a move that was becoming. clearer. >> The mission, the traitor's lair. >> I really like this purely because of how. exposing it was of the traitors and how. much came out from that. And I mean. obviously it led to other sort of plot. lines and Miranda and Joan and the. floorboards and all of this sort of. stuff, but. >> my god I mean by the way Kenny and Maya. who are absolute natives to this era of. television are so good in their diary.
room VT, you know where they're doing. that sort of interstitial stuff. What. are they called again? You tell me. master interviews. >> Yeah, they're master interviews are the. best in the series really. I mean, because they know exactly what they're. supposed to do. And Maya just looking at. the camera saying, I mean, when James. Auster just refuses to move because it. might be incriminating. >> I don't think I mean, listen, I. understand you're between Bash and. Michael Sheen. They're not going to hear. you lift your blindfold. >> Yeah, I'm just looking at the camera. going, "But wow." I mean, just. speechless. Absolutely speechless.
>> Absolutely got away with it at the end. I of course he did. He's James Auster. >> Yeah. I'm going to get to the end of the. episode and say what I think. But I mean. really. >> so this this so this task we we we. talked before there there was a task in. the previous one where that that. involved um in the previous celebrity. traders that involved a winch and things. like that and I say before they do these. tasks they are done 50 times by a team. like everyone will go this this looks. this looks really hard I think it might. be quite hard for the traders to sort of. build this shield so they will test it.
and test it and test it and go oh no. it's it's it's it's pretty easy they'll. work it out eventually because other. people will start building their shield. so they will know exactly the pieces. that they need. Um, we will turn the. lights off like four or five times. It'll be an absolute breeze for the. traitors. It'll take them a while, but. they will work out how to do it. They'll. probably take it in turns to, you know, step across, but they'll work out what. pieces are needed for this shield and. they will win the thing. This was one of. those occasions where the tracers. absolutely broke the format because they.
had zero chance, opportunity, interest. in aptitude for completing this task at. any point and therefore it was really. really really fun as a piece of chaos. and seeing them. >> I'll give you 100 quid if my jama. understood what she was supposed to be. doing. I I will there's no way once she. put the pieces back in the trough. Yeah, I think she just hadn't I I know they go. through the rules and say, "Is everyone. clear? Is everyone clear?" She was. clear. She was not clear on the rules. >> And the only person who probably could. have told her the rules was James. And.
he was going nowhere. But they I think. they stole three pieces of shield all. entirely from themselves. >> Yeah. >> They did not take a single piece of any. shield from anyone else. They had three. pieces of shield on the thing that was. going to make them nine grand. Two of. which were the same. >> Yeah. A couple of halfass little bits of. shield. just no no attempt to fit. together, nothing like that. No, no, no. >> It was really. >> I I enjoyed Kenny's master interview. there when he was talking about the.
footsteps misdirection and he was. saying, you know, I was trying to just. walk up and down and then but but not. maybe not to help James [laughter]. just really absolutely had it. >> But okay, so here's here's the thing. that the task really really showed us. Miranda. So Miranda's role in the task. and it told us a couple of different. things. >> So she's between Joanne and Maya. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So a floorboard moves, right? You. are between Joanne and Maya. Right. You.
are between two people. >> Yeah. >> For the rest of the episode, she. concentrated entirely. >> on Joanne. >> It's a complete Yeah. >> Not at any point did she think, >> "Hold on a minute, though. Maya was the. other side. Maybe maybe I'll talk to. Maya about this. >> But this game is always full of fa. complete failures of imagination that to. the viewer are like there's another. person right there. But to them. >> in the moment exactly she's like it's. it's built on something else that she. thought or she trusts Maya. Absolutely.
For for you know reasons we don't yet. know. Uh, so she absolutely goes in hard. on Joanne and it almost cost her later. on before there's a sort of very weird. kind of final coder to this whole. episode. So I thought, you know, the. round table could have come down to. Miranda versus Joanne. It didn't in the. end because people went in in a in a. different direction, but I would have. loved to have seen it if that actually. became the re-election of that round. table. It would have been fascinating. and it would have been even more. fascinating because sitting across from.
them is Maya who was literally just the. other side of her. >> who logically because she is embarrassed. about how unbelievably badly did they do. the task just thinks I am a goner. She. said she had seven things that she was. going to say. >> to Miranda and she didn't have to say. any of them. Miranda's, oh my goodness, Miranda's way of handling it. As we. said, when you get to the ser stage of. the game, you cannot, even though they. continue to heard in ridiculous ways, and we'll get to it. You can't sit back.
at certain points, unfortunately, you. have to make some kind of move, >> but she her decision to say to Joan in. advance, oh, I'm going to have to say. some things about you. It's like if. someone if someone seems like they're. going to attack you and you sort of try. and war they always say in self-defense, don't pinch them to warn them. Pinch. them like you want to sort of rip their. arm off you. You it is self-defense. But. she was sort of like I'm going to have. to say some things about you later. Oh. no, don't do this. This is. >> Yeah. And by the way, if she had gone.
and said that to Maya, it would have. been a very different conversation. Would have been very friendly, very. gentle. But then Joanne quite rightly, by the way, cuz Joanne is a faithful. The second she's being accused by. Miranda is going, "Well, that makes me. suspicious of you." And Miranda's like, "Huh? >> I don't know why that would make you. suspicious of me. >> I've got a huge crush on Joanne." But. she's a personality type that is going. to come out fighting and then we'll just. think attack is the best form of. defense. Yeah. >> And you can see that. And if you spent. any time with her, >> um, as in we all have spent time. watching [clears throat] her,
>> it was all that was always going to. happen. I think Miranda could have. perhaps predicted that. either have to. save it for the round table or spend the. day getting the numbers and and then. just put and lay it all on the round. table. But saying, "Oh, I'm a bit I'm. sorry, but I'm going to have to do this. later was was not a good strategy.". >> It's not. And then we will get on when. we talk about the round table, we will. get on to debunk gate as well, which. which feels like doubling down on. >> make it worse. >> Yeah. Um after the break, we are going. to talk about that round table. We're.
going to talk about who went. We're. gonna talk about who's gonna go. tomorrow, but we're also gonna talk. about another very unfairly produced. person by the end of the episode, Sharon. Rooney, who turns out to have pulled off. one of the greatest coups in faithful. history and now looks like she might be. being punished for it. So, we'll we'll. talk about all those things straight. after these. [music].
Welcome back everybody to this traitor's. reaction episode of the rest is. entertainment. Shall we talk about. Sharon and the person? I. >> was about to say can we talk about. Sharon because she has emerged again now. everyone's like she's changed and it's. just she's been shy. >> She's got good. >> Yeah, she's got really good. She's been. shy and it's she's been you can see that. she's been kind of not intimidated but. she's sat she's definitely sat back. Yeah, it's a tough room and she suddenly.
has emerged as someone with you know not. brilliant theories but good theories at. the start and then as it turned and now. very good theories. >> Yeah. I mean she says look I love this. game. I love this show. >> Uh and the perfume bottle thing she. spotted it was on the wall and then sort. of kind of goes huh hold on a minute. What if what if this is the thing that. happened? Which never happens in. traitors where they go, what if the. thing cuz always with a with a killing. in plain sight. It's always, yeah, I.
wonder if it was something to do with. the order of words or I wonder if you. had to say a certain word or I wonder if. you brushed up against me. She's going, I wonder if someone sprayed the perfume. bottle and that killed Ross. And you. think, well, I mean, out of New York and. you're absolutely right. She calls. herself the poundro. >> Uh, but you can't say poundro without. saying puo. Yeah, she was really good, but it's difficult because. >> she has now sort of announced herself. >> Everyone is like, you've complet you've. changed. You've changed. >> So to the traitors, she's announced.
herself as somebody who is unbelievably. smart. >> Yeah. >> And to the faithfuls, she's announced. herself, as we always say in the show, as someone who has done something. >> Yeah. >> And dangerous. Never do anything. >> Don't do anything. >> Actually, Joanne says very early on this. show, you got to play like Goldilocks. Not too big, not too small, just in the. middle. So, both sides now distrust her. purely because she got something. unbelievably right. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, >> it's very clever though. >> Well, let's get to the round table. She's got this theory about the perfume. bottle. >> Correct theory.
>> Yeah. She's all ready to say it at the. table and James Blunt takes it off her. and says it for her, which I found a. little bit that he was perfumeplaining. I think. >> he was perfume. >> He was perfume spraying. >> Perfume spain by Lere. >> Yeah. [laughter]. >> For the man in your life. So Miranda. then coming to the table and saying the. bouncing floorboard theory, I've now. debunked it. >> It's like she's the Warren Commission. and people have been waiting like 30. years for her to say what she thought. about the JFK assassination. She goes, >> I'm very very aware that out there in. the culture. >> Yeah, >> the floorboard theory is rife. I'm ve.
I'm tired of sort of seeing conjecture. about it. The many many articles and. opeds in the newspapers. I just want to. report back on my findings. Buffins, it. is debunked. No further questions, but. there were further questions. >> except from Joan who said, "Obviously, you've said it now.". >> You know, >> I mean, you know, there's such an edge. to Joan, which I. >> Great. >> Yeah, it's it's good to see a little bit. of that. Um there's a lot of things that. the celebrities do where you think. >> you're all very very polite to each. other because you're all essentially in.
the same green rooms and you're all in, you know, and there is a certain there's. a difference between the celebrity. format and the civilian format in that. the celebrities are very you know. they're kind of respectful in a way that. >> you it's much more gloves off and Joanna. plays much more like a civilian like. that. She doesn't she's chaotic but she. plays much more like a civilian which I. enjoy. So from Miranda's perspective, and you know, we we've said all the way. through this, she's played brilliantly. This is her first off day, right? And by. the everybody has an off day in this. game. You can't not have an off day. It's it's impossible. But you'll do.
something and because you're feeling. sensitive about yourself, which everyone. does in that place, you sort of try and. make it better and you make it worse. So. this is her first bad day. And the key. when you have a bad day is to survive. the bad day. And in terms of the round. table, she absolutely did it. Even. though we're in a situation there where. and you could see in the edit there. wasn't even oh who who are the suspects. here? It's going to be person X person X. person X. They they absolutely didn't do. that this time because nobody knew who. they were going to vote for. So. everybody was at risk there. If if you. would stop the tape just before that uh.
started could have been what we know. about this cast is that they heard. ridiculously. Our producer Jerry ran the. numbers last week and we'll have to. update them for this episode but I don't. think they're going to make them very. different. something like 83% of people. just vote with a herd and all other. versions we've seen of it in this. country is right down to sort of 60%. >> It's essentially the sort of numbers. that Putin gets in Russian elections. >> It really is. [laughter]. >> Kenny and Bash that red flag of did you.
go to the bar or did you not? >> Clever. Kenny is so good. >> Kenny is so good. >> The walking up and down in the task. Brilliant. the thing with Bash and he's. not even like sort of he's just saying. and he's saying it directly to him to. say just funny because you said that you. were in the bar then you said you. weren't and Bash of course we we know as. a slight missspeaking but but just to. grasp onto that and work out that that. was a thing work out that's a loose. thread that could be pulled. >> he's really really good. >> yeah he is slightly surrounded by idiots. but um not completely um he'll have to.
stick with Maya. >> the thing about being a human being in. this world is we are all surrounded by. idiots at all times because we are. >> and we are them as well I I agree but I. think It's very you can't really fault. how he's playing and it's quite ted some. bits of it might be quite tough. >> but again he will have a bad day. >> Yeah, he will have one. >> Michael Sheen just suddenly says right. we're going to have to keep only the. strong can survive. At which point Jerry. is sort of immediately fingered as you. know someone who's too iconic. Richard, she's too iconic to survive the story.
It was a fascinating point that because. again we have that situation where we'd. say all the time and everyone who. listens to this knows that there's. really no point voting out a traitor. most of the time. Yeah. And certainly. now there isn't any point voting out a. traitor. You can never say that on the. round table or if you do say it it's. it's edited out. That was the closest. you can get and stay in the edit to kind. of saying why don't we just get rid of. people who are kind of bad faithful. If. they're a traitor so be it. But why.
don't we just get rid of people who are. not helping our cause? He he essentially. said that out loud. It was a it was a. dog whistle. >> Yeah. >> But it was uh it was a whistle. Dogs. brutal. >> Dogs around the country that is. >> I found it quite brutal. It it was. fairly brutal. >> Kenny at the end cuz he he's so good at. this kind of playing innocent said why. did everyone vote for Jerry? It's so. good. [laughter]. >> I know. He he honestly left that round. table with Bash liking him more and. everyone just going Kenny was the only. person who saw through it really.
>> and having coax the line out of Joan. Well, we had to start looking at the. more chaotic players. Okay. >> Yeah. And so Leanne survived again there. was a lot of heat on her and this as we. said in the first half the thing about. dancing around and she said and again I. felt so bad for her. She just said I was. just trying to do something nice. >> Yeah. And and she was just trying to do. something nice. She's in a castle, you. know, with all of these people. Everyone. is quite stressed. And she's going, "I. tell you the thing that I can do that is.
going to make people happy, and it's. this." And she would have gone to bed. thinking, >> do you know what? That was really, really lovely. I really, really enjoyed. that. And I really bonded with Miranda. What a nice thing to do. And the next. day, as always on the show, don't do. anything. >> She sings unpunished. >> Why were you. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Why were you teaching Miranda to. dance? That's traitor behavior. surprising it wasn't actually from. Miranda which would should have. compounded the bad day but yes Miranda. was talking to the Alan Joanne said. >> oh you should be a politician Miranda.
>> which is the greatest insult really bad. so there was a brief moment in the round. table where talk turned to the fact that. that perfume bottle was in the library. and talking about who was in the library. okay so we're at a point here on that. round table where we actually have. something Sharon has come up with a. theory that is correct Sharon is Smart. So, who was in that room? Yeah. And it. was I mean, by the way, Maya was in that. room just as she was just the other side. of you, Miranda. But it's very, very. quickly brushed away.
>> Yeah. >> By the traitors and and Maya volunteers. the list of people who are in the room, in fact. >> Yeah. Which is, you know, which is the. right thing to do. >> Absolutely. The right thing to do. Um, so we go around the table once again. Not a single vote for a single traitor. No. >> But, you know, an awful lot of votes for. for Jerry. We obviously know that. Sharon's theory is amazing. Yeah. >> Right. We also know she's done an. amazing job. >> They can't know that really and I don't. think there's evidence where they could. really really know for a fact that that.
that was a thing, you know, because. there's lots of different ways it could. have happened. And we've all heard. theories before about how someone was. killed in plain sight and they were. incorrect. >> So, you can sort of see why that didn't. pay off. So actually the key line in. that um round table was Michael just. saying I wonder if it's time to start. just thinking about who's useful to us. as faithfuls. That's the that's what led. to the uh the Jerry tsunami. >> Yes, we now have to go to the Tara and I. have to talk about James Acaster. This. is another difference I believe in the.
celebrity and civilian version of the. game. The civilians would find a way of. getting him banished because he's he. doesn't put his way. he can't be relied. on. If they must know now that if push. came to shove, he wouldn't defend them. They must think that. They must suspect. it. So I think if they were civilians, they would basically put some words out. and in in the day and then they would. get him banished at the round table. I. think that they would literally try and. do something like the celebrities are.
very different. >> So why do you think it's different here? >> You know, you should play it like it's. the mafia. You've got a liability. You. kind of have to get rid of him. But I. think the celebrities don't do that. because they are all, as I said before, they're Dennisens of the same green. rooms. >> He has a status as well. Yeah. In that. green room. I mean, Maya is sort of the. most famous, but but but in terms of the. job and the seniority or something, there's something about James where they. >> he is iconic. I agree. >> Exactly. And and they pay him respect. I. thought he played it beautifully because. they're of course thinking that. They're.
of course thinking, "Well, we were. worried about James." And then this. thing where he didn't help us at all. I. think this might be an issue for us. But. then he listened to them. He said, "I. know. I know." He explained why he. didn't want to do it. And then when he. said, "In my defense, I am now enjoying. being a traitor cuz I liked killing Ross. Kemp." I don't think he particularly. did. No, >> but it was a very very good thing to. say. He is like when your football team. >> I thought he was keeping the peace for. now and I don't think I think long term. they will not like it. I think he's like.
when your football team signs a striker. and you're desperate for him to be good. because he's scored goals in the Dutch. league and you're like, but what if he. just goes on a scoring run and I think. they see such potential in him that if. they can just sort of put an arm around. his shoulder and get him on side, he's. going to be incredibly useful to them. I. don't think they want to kill him. I. think they really like him. I think they. respect him. I don't think. >> they like and respect him, but he's any. good for their game. He would be a tough. kill, but he is good for their game. because no one's looking at him.
>> Nobody is looking at him. >> Play like he's on the team. So. therefore, >> I mean, he does and he doesn't. He. killed Ross Camp. And what more do you. want to do? If if I had someone on my. team and asked them to kill Ross Kemp. and they did, I'd be like, you know. what? Fair absolute fair play. That is a. that is a hell of a test of loyalty. It's never happened, by the way. But. were it to happen, I'd be like, okay, I. understand you then didn't take your. blindfold off, but to you did kill Ross. Kemp, so I have to give you some props. for that. I feel that they should turn. on him because he's he's too much of a. liability to them. >> I don't think he is. I I think the one.
thing he would not do is turn a. spotlight on either of them. I think his. objections to being a traitor are moral. objections. Uh and I and and I think. >> he would have the same moral objection. to turning on Kenny and Mia. If I was. Kenny or Mia, I would not worry about. James betraying me. Well, he didn't have. a moral compunction to join in the task. >> No, for sure he But again, when he says. this is just a game, he is right. You.
play it how you want. But I do think. that he would not turn on the other two. traitors. And I think if I was in that. turret, I would believe that. >> Okay, who should they murder? They've. got a choice of three. They've got. Miranda, Bash, and Romesh. >> This is a hell of a I mean, >> yes, this is a three-way. I I dotted. around even while we've been talking. Yeah, it's a really really tricky one. As I say, if it hadn't been for the. shields, I think Michael would have been. the one to go. >> Yeah, >> I think that that that would have been. the play there cuz it's quite rare. actually that you you you have like a.
normal murder where you're in the turret. and you get to choose between three. people. It's been a long time since. we've been in that sort of situation. Who will they go for and who should they. go for? And should they have put anyone. else up there? If you were there, would. you have anyone else on your short list? I wonder whether you would kill Leanne. because then it would seem as though I. mean it's a bit route one but it might. it might put the suspicion back onto. Joan or even Michael or any of the. people who sort of. >> Yeah, I think probably I would have put. Leanne in that mix at least. She'd have. been in my three for sure.
>> I think you can't go for Sharon because. she's just come up with a theory that is. correct and you don't want people to. know that she's come up with a theory. that that is correct. Yeah. A few people. have got shields so they're fishing in. in quite a small pool. Joan James and. Michael with the shields. So yeah, hard. to know who else they could have gone. for. >> I think probably Leanne for me. >> Yeah, >> given we know who they have gone for. Miranda Bash and Romesh. >> Huh. >> H. >> I mean. >> probably Miranda. I think I think. they're not sufficiently threatened by.
Bash which they should be but they're. not sufficiently threatened so they. won't. Romesh I I think he's more useful. there because he doesn't have any right. ideas. Um, in fact, I see like to stay. out of the theories. >> Yeah. >> So, I probably Miranda. >> Yes. I think that as I was watching them. in the turret and seeing just watching. the edits. >> Yeah. >> Kenny obviously just accused Bash. Now, if they murder Bash, of course, it. doesn't mean I mean, makes no logical. sense that it would have been Kenny who. did that, but it doesn't need to make.
logical sense. It would mean that the. names Kenny and Bash are some. There's a. connection there. And you know what? who. who wants that connection given that. none of the none of these three are. gameplay moves. None of these three are. if we murder this person then that. person goes out tomorrow. There's not. So what it is is you you're trying to. undermine the foundations of the. faithfuls more than anything else. There's no huge game at play here. Three. big names. If any of them go is a big. it's a big deal, but they have an. equivalence. I think that the three of.
So Bash I think Kenny would be like I. mean honestly I'd rather not if if it's. okay with everyone. Romesh I think we. have the celebratorous thing of. >> I mean you want to keep him in. >> Yeah, >> you want to keep him in because he has. that status and because you know the. comics are kind of falling by the. wayside a little bit. I think you. probably want to keep him in. >> You also don't believe him to be a. threat because he hasn't said anything. credible at any point. >> Yeah. And with Miranda, >> she's too dangerous. >> She's too dangerous. There is the slight.
gameplay move which might work with. these faithfuls. You never know of does. that put any kind of target on either. Joanne or Leanne. I mean it shouldn't. logically but again in the same. >> logically had Miranda's theory been. followed through to its conclusion if. she thought it could have been the. person on the other side. I mean Maya. then you couldn't have done this but. since it never if it enter her. imagination that it could have been. Maya. >> Yeah. It's interesting that though. because Maya you could tell was more. nervous than we had been shown because. she said, "Oh my god, I had all this. stuff.". >> And so if you are, let's say they murder.
Miranda, right? >> Yeah. >> If you are a Michael Sheen or a Sharon. or someone like that and you say, "Look, I know you, by the way, I understand. Miranda. Why did you say the thing was. debunked?" And she goes, "Oh, you know, I had the conversation with Joanne and I. I just felt a bit uncomfortable and I. just thought, you know, I probably am. wrong." So, say she goes and they're. thinking, "Okay, why did Miranda debunk. that theory?" And Jeran goes, "Well, she. talked to me about it and I I I knew I. was a faithful and so but I I maybe I. was quite combative [snorts] with her.". And they say, "Well, did she did she say.
the same thing to you, Maya?" And if she. did, or if she didn't, Maya becomes a. suspect in some way. Maybe if Miranda. goes. So, maybe Miranda is a danger for. Maya in the same way that Bash is is a. danger to Kenny. >> I'd risk it. >> I not much of one. >> I would risk it here. Yeah. >> Yeah. She's too good, Miranda, I think. Yes. And Ramish. >> and she started to make moves. >> Yeah. And she and she put her head above. the paraph. And so there's. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. There's an element that people. might read something Yeah. >> into that. Either way, we're losing a. big player from the game. So this.
episode, Farewell, Lovely Ross, a task. which the production team would have. expected something very different to. happen, which is, oh my god, perhaps. they just need one bit of the shield. left and actually they just very quickly. worked out they couldn't do it at all. So it becomes something different. A. lovely bit of chaos. will not have been. disappointed by how it turned out cuz it. was very exciting. >> It was brilliant. Sharon coming up with. one of the all-time great faithful. things and then being blamed for it and. now uh Jerry going but I mean that was. was going to happen at some point and. now now we have these three big names. >> up for grabs. It's getting interesting.
now. It's getting close. >> Approaching the business end of it, Richard. >> I mean we really are especially tomorrow. if two more people go tomorrow. The. numbers are very very low. We're only. two episodes from the end at that point. It's good momentum now because there, you know, in those early episodes where. sometimes you lose one or even none. >> because of the way the cliffhers have. been structured. Yeah. Now it's going on. at quite a lick. >> Do you see an alliance of faithfuls who. might be able to overcome this trait? Because this traitor block is now it's. gone from very very weak to very very. strong because of Meer and Kenny. Is.
there a group of traitors like can James. Blunt and Michael Sheen team up? I mean. they can't team up with Miranda maybe if. if she goes but but I don't see any sort. of alliance there. All the good. alliances, Bella and Bash, all of these. alliances have gone. Bella, Bash, and. Kenny for various reasons that's gone. There doesn't seem to be a kind of rump. of this faithful who are going to get it. together to really find their way into. this game. You know, Joanne Ramish, I. mean, who is there to lead the charge?
>> There's it. I mean, yes, Michael Sheen, James, I don't I can't James Bond's. wrong about everything. Bless him. So, I. I just can't. But you can be wrong about. as we know he could be wrong about. everything and get all the way to the. final very easily. Yeah. >> You know, but they have been vote he has. been voted for James Blunt and he he you. could he could so easily be the. sacrificial lamb of. >> Yeah. >> tomorrow even. We just don't know. We. don't know how it will play out. [clears throat]. >> Feels to me and you never know with. traitors. It feels to me if I was Maya. and Kenny, I'd be in a very very very. strong position. >> I agree with that.
>> at the moment because we are not far. from the end and nobody nobody's. building up ahead esteem to to work them. out. We'll see what happens tomorrow, I. guess. >> Let's see what happens tomorrow. >> We're going to do another one of these, aren't we? >> Oh, for sure. >> For sure we are. >> We will be here tomorrow. >> uh after episode 8. See you then. >> Bye-bye.
