The Castle’s Most Obvious Clue
Hello and welcome to this special. reaction episode of The Resters. Entertainment. We're doing Celebrity. Traers episode 4. I'm Marina Hyde. >> and I'm Richard Osman. Hello everyone. Just like uh us, you've just been. watching I'm assuming you've just been. watching the latest episode. Uh we're. going to talk through all of it. The. mistakes that I think are being made, the things I would do next. >> There's one or two, aren't there, Richard? >> I think there's one or two. I think we. don't have the greatest class of. traitors we've ever had for various. different reasons. All of which we will.
be talking about. >> We obviously don't know the ratings for. tonight, but we know that yesterday's. watched live was 10 million. It's. something like a 16 3% audience share. It's in. >> it's like it's 1978 all over again. And. that will consolidate to you know 17 18. million people. So it is definitely. definitely uh you know doing incredible. business. >> A national pastime. >> A national pastime. The rest is entertainment is presented. by octopus energy. Now, cinema always.
really wants reality to cooperate and. ideally on schedule, >> but it often doesn't. Nature is often. the biggest enemy of the filmmaker and. all sorts of film sets, often out in the. open, often on very tight schedules, but. the weather doesn't always make things. easy, right? >> No. Film making is often a negotiation. with the natural world, which and. there's probably only going to be one. winner. My favorite story of nature is. Mad Max Fury Road which got of course is. in that incredible barren Yeah.
wasteland but there had been huge. rainfalls before it and the whole place. was full of vegetation and absolutely. there was just I know there were wild. flowers everywhere. It's like what? >> Yeah. And eventually they had to. relocate to Namibia because Broken Hill. was just too green and that's nature for. you. >> Film making can be very very persuasive. but nature often has the final word. at. Octopus Energy Generation is interested. in wind and sunlight and weather for. other reasons of course energy. generation. Uh it backs builds and. manages renewable energy products across. 435 sites in 21 countries. So this is.
rather more than a passing interest in. the weather. >> I mean I'm not giving the faithfuls 100%. here either because I not in the turret. in the very sort of first scene there. was a reference to something by Maya. which she called the main investigator. group. It's like, well, I don't think. we're dealing with the A team here. [laughter]. >> Yes, exactly. >> Um, and then they in order they decided. to kill Bella to provide what Maya. called the twist that the game needs. >> Yeah. And it was such a bad decision.
You must have there's a there's a basic. rule in Traitors. Never ever ever murder. someone who is going to be banished. unless you absolutely have to. Sometimes. you have there's a triage situation. There's a panic and you have to quickly. hope that people think it's a double. bluff, but there's absolutely never. you have to kill. It's crazy, but it it. comes from the fact we have three. traitors there, two of whom don't. particularly want to be there. >> I have to say, I mean, I don't mean to. sound like my mother who has got a knack.
for telling me this when I least want to. hear it, but James Acastaster looks so. shattered. Like, so shat [laughter] you. look very tired, darling. >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. But really, he looked so tired in. that thing. I was thinking, "Oh, I feel. actually quite concerned for you.". >> Yes. If there's like an expression. beyond heavy uh lies the head that wears. the crown. And his is his is essentially. his his is on the floor. >> And at the end of our own last episode, we did say that they were all sort of. pulling in slightly different. directions. And yeah, they still are, I.
think. And so their twist did did not. prove to be the. >> Yeah. I just I just noticed down. actually towards the end of the episode. that uh that Maya says, "I can't be the. only one out here killing people." Yes, I wrote this down. >> Absolutely right. It's really, really. difficult for her and this game has. still not settled. The Richard thing has. still unsettled everything. And from the. producers point of view, them choosing. James as the traitor, while I want to. see him in the turret, and the more I. see of James Aircaster on the screen, the better.
>> Agreed. >> But it's absolutely thrown the game. If. they had chosen a mole, actually that. turret would be pretty impressive. because you'd have a mole, a Maya. They. you bring Hannah into that and there's. something she can work with, but Hannah. can see something is off. Hannah can see. she's not joining a group that she can. fit neatly into. Right. >> They are they're two reluctant traitors. Yeah. And the problem you you can have a. sort of you can have a lead traitor, a. head vampire as it were, but the others. have to want to do it too. Yeah. And. >> you need henchmen. >> Yes. And they they have to be committed. And it's very difficult for Maya to sort.
of do it all from a standing start and. it's not enough at the moment. Okay. So. the next morning, >> well, let's talk about Bella. Let's talk. about Yes, exactly. They walk in. >> They walk in. Can I just say, are they. still doing the last three at breakfast? >> They did this time around. Yeah, for. sure. I mean, this is Yeah. If you if I. >> They've done it on quite a few, you. know, they did it with Hannah and you. know, they did they've done things. >> Yeah. >> Do they talk about it, but then they. they don't put it in the edit? cuz I am. telling you that Hannah Hannah would. have noticed when Hannah was still a. faithful. She would have noticed it and. said something about it. >> Yeah. She would have noticed that they.
brought in Bash and Blunty. >> Yeah. >> At the same time. So you go on. Well, listen, we we we sort of know what's. happening there. But I do I do think. that's an error. I mean, firstly, I miss. Bella from the game, but also it's. [snorts]. >> Bella would have been voted out at some. point, >> but they have no confidence in their. they don't even have a strategy. They. have the next thing that they're going. to do. They don't have any sense of even. two moves ahead. >> Yeah. And again, it's not any. individual's fault there. It's a it's a. it's the the hold of traitors is a group. dynamic game, but in that turret. particularly, it's a group dynamic game.
And there is zero group dynamic there. There are three people, all of whom are. playing an entirely separate game and. all of whom have entirely separate. internal monologues. >> I agree. >> So, I think that was a mistake. It. probably won't be the last mistake that. is made, but it's certainly. >> on this form. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> The next thing will be a mistake. >> Yes. Uh you were talking while we were. watching about the access of comedians, >> right? The comedians uh we'll leave. James Acaster out of this for obvious. reasons because he's a traitor. Um but. the the rest of them are playing a very.
good sort of under the radar game. Rob. said that him and Romesh we add nothing. to the theories. Now that is actually a. very smart move at this point. >> The second it's a little bit like game. theory. Once you commit to a move, then. someone has to react. Yes. So if you. say, "I think it's Julie or I think. whoever you're going to say,". >> every action brings heat. >> Every every action brings heat. So if. you just don't add anything to the. theories and you just say, "All right, you can play dumb and you can play.
confused," which they are all doing to. some degree and they're doing it in a. funny deflective way. >> That's see that's the key is you have to. bring something to the castle. You have. to bring something. And if you're an. actor, you have to bring something. If. you're someone that people don't know so. well, you have to bring something. If. you're a comedian, you are bringing. something already which is jokes. Yeah. >> And so nobody at any point is saying Rob. and Ramish are quite quiet. They go, "Oh. my god, Robin Roish is so funny." You. know, "Oh, Joey's so funny. Oh, you know. what, Joanne, she's so funny." And that. your job is done. So you can hide under.
>> Well, Joan's got a slightly different. thing, which is that she just is like, "Right, I'm convinced I can read this.". >> And the way she says it is so like, "Okay, I'm not convinced that you can. read this." Well, in fact, we know she's. wrong. cuz she said, "I I'm just going. to trust my instincts." And he go, "The. one thing, Joan, you actually have very. good self-nowledge. You know your. instincts are poor. You abs you. genuinely know your instincts are poor.". And yet and yet, >> so yeah, in general, the comedians are. just they're ve they're being very. clever and deflecting. >> Not a single comedian has been voted.
for. Not a single vote for any of the. comedians, which tells you something. because there's quite a lot of them and. as the game goes on, they're going to. form like a bigger grouping. Yes. within. this game and then actually they they. might have to start pulling their weight. cuz you can't hide forever. It's. definitely the right thing to do uh at. the start and if you can get away with. it, oh my god, what what a bit of. gameplay. At some point you might be. called upon but at the moment when you. got you know James Blunt and Ross Kemp. and Miranda and all of these people but. I know Miranda is a comedian but these.
we're talking sort of about the. standups. When you got those people who. are out there and pushing things and. pushing things and you can just sit. around with Jerry Hall and provide some. light entertainment, then where's the. heat? There is no heat. >> Jerry Hall who has fered James. Acastaster and got absolutely nothing. back from anybody. She has not got. enough purchase on the discourse. Jerry, I'm afraid. >> she has not got enough purchase on the. discourse. >> in some ways, but not in terms of like. being taken seriously as someone who. might have an idea. >> Yeah. Can I talk a little about Jerry. Hall for one second? So, it's it's a. sort of a theory. So, so Hannah is.
playing this game with logic. >> Okay. And sometimes you see that. Yeah. Sometimes you see that on on various of. the iterations of traitors around the. world. You get someone going, "No, I'm. absolutely playing this forensically.". And she's got a spreadsheet and all of. that. And I spoke on um yesterday's. episode about you can't play chess. against a chimp that you you can have. all the kind of facts and data you want, but actually if there's an agent of. chaos. Uh, and Jerry towards the end of. the show, she says, "I still can't get. over the fact that neither me or Hannah.
got murdered." So, if you're Hannah and. you got a spreadsheet, right, the two of. you come back because there has been a. recruitment. Done. That's the end of. that variable, right? You come back, no. one's been murdered because someone has. been recruited. Absolutely. There is. absolutely no evidence whatsoever that. that it would be one of the two the two. of you. Like, it could be any of them. And so Hannah can have all the variables. she wants and have all the spreadsheets. she wants. But when you're dealing with. people who are looking at the facts. differently, Hannah was still kind of.
going, I still think, isn't it weird. that we didn't get murdered? And Hannah. as a mathematician would say, well, no, because the thing is if you didn't get. murdered, it's because there's been a. recruitment. So that's that's squared. off. But you can never square things off. in that sort of. >> want with probability. She doesn't want. to play with probability. [laughter]. No, no, thank you. We have to do one. more breakout because I have to say this. has got to be about the looks that are. being because some of the clothes now. >> Oh my god, it's so great. >> With the exception of a costume show.
like Strictly, you will not see looks. like this. This is now the primo looks. destination on prime time TV. Okay, everyone on this show has a stylist now. if they want one. There is I like it. when they do the sort of the tartan, the. faux fur, the sort of like insane take. on the countryside, which I find quite. amusing, but at the end James Blunt in a. sort of like I wonder which American. city he's working vice in in the year. 1988. What the hell? A sort of lemon. linen suit. >> I like I sort thought it was more.
buttercream, >> you know. It can be whatever. It's a. pastel. We're dealing with an extreme. pastel. I I think we have to enjoy them. while we can. We'll get to that. >> Yes. Um the headband the sweat headband. for the task. I mean. >> but they all look incredible because the. American c or the American traitors they. they all look incredibly styled all the. time and that's absolutely and we had a. bit of that before on traitors and celeb. traitors uh and Claudia obviously always. looks amazing but now it is really part. of the show. What are you wearing? Yes.
>> On any given day. I really like the. people who have not bought into it. So. the people who are still there in plaid. shirts and stuff like that that I like. But my god some. >> are like no I'll do my own clothes. Thanks. Yeah, but other people must have. bought. >> like Joan Collins estates me levels of. luggage like 57 suitcases behind them. trading up in Vanessa airport runway. >> But also there must be in the morning. this must be quite a big operation to. get them all out. >> Yeah, >> because they have to I'm just thinking. as a producer if I'm producing that. breakfast my god that must take a long.
time because you are only as quick as. your slowest contestant on any sort of. game show. So, if someone is still in. their dressing room, everyone is. waiting. And on this, you got you still. got like 19, 18 people, some of whom, you know, are taking a long time to get. ready because they're on television and. they want to look amazing. And by the. way, the show is better because they. look amazing. So, you know that as a. producer as well, >> but my god, by the you you just must. stagger those things. I would hate to.
see the schedule, >> the breakfast schedule, and I would hate. to see how that breakfast schedule. changes through the morning. They call. it breakfast. I there's I think on. Hannah Fry's Insta I think there was. there's some evidence that she walked. into breakfast at about 12 which. >> they do call it a second breakfast I. believe. >> that's a nice time to have breakfast so. yeah one assumes they're having a. breakfast at their lodgings. >> and then the breakfast is a is a TV. breakfast which sometimes is the best. breakfast of all. >> but that in terms of logistics.
is an absolute nightmare if I'm a. producer and I know I've got stuff that. I want to cover and I know that Bella's. not coming back in and make sure just. get reactions from so and so. What order. we put them in? Okay, put those three in. first and then we'll put those two and. then of course we'll leave the ones who. aren't traitors to the end. Uh so we'll. do all of that and then but then you are. sitting there waiting for a runner to. just radio through and just say yes we. have uh everyone everyone is now. traveling and the the time between you. being ready to go you being as a.
producer when you're already amped up. for a morning and you're like I'm. absolutely on today cuz this show is. like it's a producers show so they are. working their socks off and their brain. has to be completely switched on at all. times cuz the story can change in a. heartbeat. They are absolutely it's like. a football game sort of being delayed. for fog that they are amped up. They've. taken all of their um peptides, you. know, every everything is ready to go. and suddenly there's fog and they're. sitting around for like an hour and a. half. The amount of.
>> miniature heroes that must be being. eaten in that gallery while they're. waiting for the last person to get in. their car. It was I would love to see. the miniature heroes budget on this. show. [laughter] My final thing on. breakfast was I I loved Miranda just. saying to Joe, "Stop telling Hannah. things.". >> Yes, >> she's really good in this Miranda. She. is. >> She's really good. >> She might have slightly got over her. skis towards the end of the episode, but. well, I guess we'll get there. >> Yeah. Yeah, we will get to that. Shall. we go to a break and come back? We'll. talk about the task, what it revealed, and then we'll talk about that round.
table, which again, it's just we're not. seeing great gameplay thus far, but. normally we'll see great gameplay from. one of the sides. We've seen we we're. seeing pretty bad game play from each of. the sides. And then we'll talk about the. uh the cliffhanger and what we think is. going to happen there. And that, by the. way, is the first thing I think almost. that the traitors have got right. I. think they picked well. But we will we. will discuss that straight after this. [music].
This episode is brought to you by our. friends at Lloyds. >> Now, let's talk about movie con artists. Who are your absolute favorites? >> Movies, TV, and book. My answer is the. same, and it's Tom Ripley. >> I was going to say him. It's one of the. greatest characters of all time. >> So from the Talented Mr. Ripley books by. Patricia Highmith, there's five of them. So if you like Talented Mr. Ripley, you. are in luck. He is like one of the worst.
men in the world, but you absolutely you. root for him at all times. >> Now, of course, deception makes for. excellent entertainment on screen. In. real life, when it's your bank account. being targeted, the charm somewhat. disappears. >> Yep. Lloyds have invested 100 million. pounds in Darkhorse anti-fraud. technology, which combines intelligent. monitoring and real-time alerts to keep. you safe from fraud. >> Click on their app or visit. lloydsbank.com to find out more about. how Lloyds protects you from fraud. AI.
powered scam checks, voice biometrics, and realtime alerts are just some of the. ways Lloyds are protecting you. Based on. Lloyd's banking group data, 2023 to. 2025. >> [music]. >> Welcome back everybody. Now the mission. was the creepy cabin. Yes. Um that. involved Bash putting his head down some. kind of L to get some. >> Yeah. Good for him. >> Yeah. He he he by the way has.
>> I love him. >> So do I. It's really hard for the young. people in the show. I think that. actually lots of celebrities hate the. idea that anyone younger might be coming. up after them. So they need to kill them. off very quickly. both metaphorically. and perhaps literally. >> I need I need another 18 months without. this person being more famous than me. >> Yeah. >> So, but Bash has got both their respect. and they he's obviously very charming. and they really like him. So, that it's. very good to have been been able to. build alliances cuz it's actually very. difficult to do that. And you saw. someone like Niko last year, they just.
didn't probably understand who he was. So, they just got rid of him straight. away. >> And also, by the way, if anyone's. playing this game properly as a. faithful, which I think some of them. are, don't forget we are seeing edited. highlights. And I don't mean it's a. false narrative, but you don't see. everything that's said by everyone. If. you have anything about you as a. faithful, you now, like we discussed on. the last episode, I said if they do kill. Bella, you have to know for a fact that. Bash is a faithful. You have to he has. not got the personality type to take out. his best mate that early in proceedings.
It's just it just wouldn't happen. So, you have to know that Bash is a complete. faithful. If I was in the game, I he. would be the first person I would seek. out and just say, "Look, >> I know for especially, by the way, if I. was a traitor, >> I'd be like, I I know for a fact now. that you're faithful.". >> Strangely, we haven't Yeah, as we say, we haven't seen it, but. >> yeah, >> the mission, the creepy cabin. Um Hannah. hesitated and let Kenny have the shield. If you do that, I mean to be honest, can.
I just say though, >> it's almost like any behavior around. shields, they retrofit it to become. suspicious later. So, in the same way. that, you know, later in the episode, James Acaster says, you know, putting a. traitor in and pretending that we we've. been consigned here by the traitors, >> it's I've never seen that not backfire. I've never seen any behavior around the. shield almost ever not backfire. >> apart from Harry. Yeah. when people. didn't know he had the shield, >> which was the it's the single time where. I've seen someone use a shield to win.
the entire game. >> We're not seeing the game play of the. likes of this in this game. >> We are not. But it is there's an. immutable rule of traitors and Hannah. proves it there, which is all action. brings heat. Yeah. Okay. I said it. before. All action brings heat. It. doesn't matter what you do. If she goes. for the shield, that's traitorous. behavior. If she hesitates, that's. traitorous behavior. So what can you do? There's nothing you can do. But as a. faithful, you have to understand that. you have to go every imagine she did the. exact opposite. Am I now saying I think.
that's traitorous behavior? Yes, I am. >> So both things that she would have done. there as a fatal, you have to go, okay, both of those things would have made me. think she's a traitor. So I have to. completely disregard that. >> But again, it's hard when you're in. there. You talk to people who've been in. there uh and they are sequestered and. they are just living the game constantly. and that does mess with your brain a. little bit. It is much easier for us to. go, can't you see in this edited show? >> Yeah.
>> What's happening here? But every single. thing you do will bring heat on you. Whether you do. >> uh whether you uh take an active choice. or you refuse to take that active. choice, people will think you're a. traitor because of it. >> Yeah. Uh but that's a lesson for the. faithful which is you have to stop. thinking about those moments unless it's. somebody for example saying I am a. traitor and then not cycling back from. it that you're allowed to take as a as a. sign of guilt but yeah I felt bad for. her but King Kenny is all well quite.
rightly is going under the radar cuz. he's faithful but he seems to be gaining. trust from people turn to him when he. says something people are not kind of. going. >> huh why would you say that Kenny they're. kind of going oh okay brilliant so that. must mean. >> yeah people like him and they respect. him and they yeah he's he again they've. done well these two young people. >> yeah they have because they've tried to. not make themselves main characters. they've just tried to make themselves. useful. >> there are a welter of absolutely nuts so. theories advanced in this. >> let's do let's do nuts so theories.
>> okay okay there are crazy theories going. around so Miranda's got like Julie Ross. and Hannah Hannah obviously that's a. reasonable one but James Blunt's got his. crazy theories and he's very very. convinced by them yes he's very. convinced by the Julie theory again. He. that's his mistake is that he's gone. traitor to Hunter too early. >> Yeah. >> Um. >> which you must never do. Just imagine. yourself in the edit if you're wrong. >> Yeah. >> That's all that's all you must do. >> But the counterweight to all of that is. this ridiculous traitor to instability. But even in the runup to that round.
table, James was saying, "I want to help. the faithful." What. >> I know. >> uh Maya said, "But I don't want her to. go yet about Hannah yet." Okay. She must. be aware that the perma instability is. just Maya just not allowing them to play. in the way that she's seen on all the. other iterations of the show. The. traitors get into some form of groove. and Claudia spend every round table. saying you are making their job so easy. for them. It's rather difficult for her. to know what to say at the start of.
every round table. >> The absolute key is every not the. absolute key because they change the. rules all the time. The key is you. murder somebody unexpected or someone. who deliberately shines a light on. somebody else and then you wait for the. normal people to be voted off in that. round table and then you go back in the. turret and you repeat. >> and that's that's how you play and she. has not been able to settle into that. rhythm. >> at all. There's not been a moment where. she could have thought more than one. step ahead. You know that's it's just. that's that's not the game that's being. played at the moment. It's it's almost.
like everyone is playing what's two feet. in front of them. >> Yeah. >> At all times. >> Even when we got to the round table, I. thought, >> you know, Hannah, she tells the audience. at home in the sort of diary room. I. don't know what that room is actually. called. I don't know what we call it by. But she tells the audience at home her. theories about how the game works. She. does also tell the contestants all the. time, this is how the game works. um the. last name to be mentioned will be this. or that she said that in the diary room.
but there are other things she tells. them at the table. >> that is always meizing it that I again. in a way it's like she can't help. herself it's it's a form of being. >> by the way do it and absolutely you have. to keep saying in that place you do have. to find a way through that place but she. said the key thing is the last person. who gets mentioned the last person who. who is sort of in the air usually gets. >> voted out and she's absolutely right I. mean there's reasons for that but she's. But then having people attacking her at.
the beginning and then everything goes. >> to go back and she decides no actually. I'm going to open myself up again and. I'm going to throw out this Jerry theory. which I of course is going to people are. going to go huh that's weird. So if you. know that you mustn't be the last person. in the spotlight in the round table then. just don't be. >> But she still put herself in. And it was. very interesting that Bash outthought. her. She even when she did all her game. theory and all her this he outthought.
her and then she was just like yeah. that's a good point. >> That is when you know. >> Miranda said Miranda said in the diary. room afterwards or whatever the quiet. part out loud she said I soon realized. we're not going to have the votes for. Hannah. It's like yes oh okay uh you. know the first rule of politics learn. how to count but you don't necessarily. have to say that that's that you know. she kept saying I don't know why I put. that name on the slate. Well, you're. about to come and tell us why you did. cuz you need to be in the slipstream and. you understand that. >> Yeah, exactly. She knows exactly what.
you have to do. I I do think for Hannah. not going for Julie as a mathematician, >> yeah, >> is a mistake. I mean, in the end there. were there was clearly water between. them, but not much. And I mean, hers. could have been the casting vote. >> Going for Jerry felt somewhat eccentric. >> because what what's the play? >> Jerry didn't take it brilliantly, I have. to say. No, >> she's one of those people that takes. like a random vote incredibly. personally. >> I know. Well, this because Jerry is.
playing a game where Jerry is in that. castle and knows she's a faithful. >> Yeah. >> So, if anyone is telling her she's a. traitor, she's like, I mean, come on. I. mean, we we all know that I'm not, right? >> Yeah, that was eccentric. She will, you. know, potentially lead something against. Hannah the next day quite happily. Romesh started saying cuz he doesn't say. a lot around him. He said, "We've. completely flipped on our most. trustworthy person inside of three days, which is Julie." And then we got to. Julie, and we said on our last episode,
our last reaction episode, and in fact, even the one before, she's going too. hard too early. She should have been a. slipstream person. By which I mean, you. just slide in behind the herd and that's. fine. If you do that and you get. anything wrong, if you're then then. you're done. And what she did with. Mahala was that she got something wrong. and then everyone thought and she also. did this bizarre thing all episode where. she kept saying. >> I won't say what's been said to me. because it will protect me. It's like I. I'm starting to feel that you know if we.
have to talk about this thing called. traitor behavior then this everyone's. just going to think any form of. >> surreptitiousness or kind of um subtlety. or anything that is all recognized as. deceit. It's just that's all it is. Yeah. And people just think you're a. traitor. >> And earlier on, again, there is a lot of. mathematics in it. Yeah. >> Is if you are certain about someone. early on when there's 21 people in it, uh as opposed to when there's seven. people in it, you are three times more. likely to be wrong. You just are because.
the numbers are not with you. The odds. that you have picked up on something. >> other than someone saying, "Yes, I am a. traitor." Right? other the odds I'm. picking up on anything else given the. entire history of this show which. presumably people have watched they are. so wildly against you and yet time after. time and again I just think it's human. nature I think you think oh I I've been. put on the show so I've been paid to be. on the show as well I want to be on the. show I want to play it and I'm going to.
play it from the beginning I'm going to. play it from the start and the thing. with this game is don't play it from the. beginning because at the beginning it's. impossible And by the way, >> be a comedian. >> Be a comedian. Just sit back, entertain. the troops. You know, be useful at a. task. But if you are leading the charge. on someone when there's still 18, 19, 20. people in there, it is almost certainly. you who's going to be in trouble. Like I. always say, my granddad's old adage of. police officer, if you're called to a. fight in the pub, don't be the first. through the door. Yeah. You know, it. just just don't be because there's.
there's very very little to be gained. And if you do get something right, it. was probably luck or somebody literally. telling you they're a traitor, which is. what happened here. You You just cannot. play the game in that way. >> Was first through the door with Mahala. and now James is first through the door. with Julie. And he. >> No. And then it's like great. Then then. the dominoes tumble. >> Yeah. Because he said at the end he said. that's my fault. And Miranda said yes. [laughter] Like okay, we didn't have to. vote for her. >> Yeah. But again, it's not because you. you know you you have to play the game.
in a certain way. If you're a traitor, you're definitely not gunning for. people. I mean, you know that. So, anyone who's gunning for people early is. a faithful. You You just know they are. Yeah. And so, but but no one ever ever. ever. >> learns the lesson. It's it sort of feels. like an impossible lesson. I do I loved. Julie. I thought she was great and I. thought she would have been, you know, Bella and Julie are both people I wanted. to see more of. Yeah. >> In the castle, but that always happens. on traitors. It has to because you have. to keep the kind of, you know, the. people who are who are slips through me.
You have to. It's just that's that's the. way the the game works. >> So Julie goes I think it's a shame, but. I think it was sort of inev inevitable. Uh Hannah, I don't think did herself a. huge amount of favors, but again, I just. think it's not for someone who thinks. straight so brilliantly. >> This is Hannah's behavior tells you. everything you need to know about being. on the Traitors. >> Yeah, just as Nick Muhammad did last. year. >> As Nick Muhammad, who is they're both. two of the brightest people you'll ever. meet who absolutely understand game. theory. If both of those two go to.
pieces, it is safe to say that you, I, you would also go to pieces in that. castle. However much we think, oh, you. know what? I think I'd be okay. >> Yeah. What's wrong with them? >> If you're a game player, you would go to. pieces in that castle. >> Yeah, >> that's the that's the truth of the. thing, right? Is just very, very, very. hard. [snorts]. >> Now, the traitors have not covered. themselves in glory, but they're given a. mission at the end of this episode. this. hide-and-seek thing, >> this hide-and-seek. So, it's it's. essentially it's just you have to put.
four people on the short list and we're. going to get 15 minutes of business out. of this rather than two minutes of. business out of this. Uh, and they've. had to choose four people. I. >> with Ingred, I said I'd tell you exactly. who I I would choose. And they chose. three of them. I thought. >> they are roughly now doing the right. thing. So, they chose. >> Romesh, Rob, Leanne, and Ross. I had. Rob, Leanne, and Ross on. >> Yeah. >> my list. >> Can I just say something about Ross. Kemp, which is it's very weird the way.
the heat map just sort of suddenly moves. over. There's no particular reason that. he's done anything. It's just like it's. somehow sort of gravitated towards him. >> for no reason. There's you wouldn't be. able to cite anything he's done. It's. just. >> But I love that, you know, like, you. know, in any kind of if you're watching. Succession or something, there's been a. long running story line and usually it. comes to an end in a big way. Uh, and I. like there was a big story line in this. season of Traitors and it comes to an. end with someone saying, "Oh, so it. turns out Bella wasn't putting that cap. on your head for any reason." Oh, yeah.
Yeah. Done. That's dealt with. You. think, you know, that was quite a big. deal. >> Yeah. >> You know, he talked about that for quite. a long time. That was quite that was. that was that was a huge thing. And you. go, "Oh, yeah. Okay. Yeah, that that. made sense. That was absolutely nothing. at all." So, of those four, here's the. interesting thing. I think Ross actually. looking at the four of them I think. maybe replace him with Michael Sheen and. I and I'll tell you for why Rob they're. absolutely right that someone will. definitely think there's a traitor in. those crypts right of the four they go. oh someone on on the next episode next.
Thursday will definitely go they would. there will definitely be a traitor in. there would one of those people will. definitely be a traitor. >> I think they'll think it's Ross but. >> I no I don't think they will I think. because Ross has had heat put on him. before because like with the with the. digging task and stuff like that. >> I think they'll think. >> if he was a traitor, he wouldn't keep. putting himself in that situation. I. think they'll think it's one of Robin. Romesh. >> I think they'll think one of them. >> they'll revert to some version or.
perversion of the big dog theory that. one of those two must be. >> one of those is a traitor and they have. chosen their best mate as one of the. other people to go in there. That's what. I think they've done. The four of them. though, they had they're given a key. >> Yeah. Right. And one of them can be. saved. >> And and and out of some kind of lie. about chivalry, they gave it to Leanne. >> I quite like I It's hard that, isn't it? Because again, all action brings heat. Yeah. >> If you want it for yourself, that makes. makes you a traitor. If you don't want. want it for yourself, that makes you a.
traitor as well. So at least the three. of them, we can fall back on something, which is there's three men, there's one. woman, there's one woman. Let's give the. key to Leanne. And then that's an. acceptable explanation for anyone around. a round table. So, who um do you think. will be murdered or they will attempt to. murder and I do not believe it will be. Leanne. I believe the key will be. irrelevant. >> If it was me, I would murder Leanne. >> Yes, I know. But I don't think they'll. do it. >> Yeah. So, the Ross, as I say, with the. Ross Kemp thing, I think the absolute. perfect group of people that they could. have put in there is Leanne because why. are you choosing Leanne? That's.
>> weird. So, like a a curveball. Yeah. >> Rob and Romesh are perfect because you. know you can accuse both of them. What. you want in an ideal world is you accuse. both of them essentially. You say, "Oh, we're voting off Rob." Rob stands up and. says, "I'm a faithful." And they go, "Oh, well then it's Robish." Like, so in. a in a perfect world a couple of days, >> you can get rid of two people that way. It. >> doesn't always work out that. But but. that's a tactic at least. I would have. bought in Michael Sheen instead of Ross. And only because.
>> it's that thing of, you know, if you. hear one drip, you don't worry about it. If you hear drip, two drips, you're. like, "Oh my god, is there a drip?". >> Yeah. Um because James already did the. what I thought was quite a clever move. of saying I just you know Michael. there's there's something about him and. then suddenly Michael. >> is one of those four people. All it. takes is for one of the other faithfuls. to go. >> It's interesting that Michael was there. cuz I think J James said oh yeah. actually I think probably Richard would. have chosen Michael that again suddenly. you start to undermine Michael a little. bit. I think he's going to be a useful. person to undermine because he's he he.
he seems to have status in that place. So I would if I were the traitors of I. would not go for Robin Romesh because I. think in an ideal world those two you. can get rid of both of those two just by. putting them in the crypts. >> Yeah, I agree. >> I would not get rid of Ross because. again Ross being in there and not being. voted out you're like huh well that's. interesting and some of the early. suspicion might come back. I would 100%. go for Leanne and just everyone go.
I mean that's crazy. Well, that's that. as a traitor that's. >> I know that it's Leanne because she's. got the key. >> Absolutely. But I'm just saying as a. traitor that's who I would be knocking. on the door of and getting rid of. If. they were to do that, then of course. suddenly there's no murder. And then. that's I mean imagine the hell the next. day when all four of them walk back in. and you're like oh my god that's going. to send people absolutely insane. >> Imagine how tired James Acasta will look.
as well in the turret. >> Yes. Cuz it's like oh god what sorry. what am I. >> can't we do? Yeah. >> What am I doing now? >> Um so yeah I would I would get rid of. Leanne for the reasons I've discussed. I. think Robin and Robish can get rid of. each other uh by you know people. assuming that one of them's a traitor. Who would you get rid of if you were the. traitors? Who would die? >> Yeah. >> Um, well, you've persuaded me of your. argument for Leanne, so I think it would. have to be that. But but together. >> Yeah, I think I think so. Yeah. >> Yeah. But then we'd knock on the door be.
locked and you'll be like, "Brilliant. Thanks for rejecting.". >> Thank you so much. >> Well done. Now we haven't murdered. anyone. >> That is your fault. Like Miranda Miranda. [laughter] said to James Blunt, you'd be. my James Blunt. >> Yeah. Um, yes. You you persuaded me of. the merits of of of Leam, but. >> but I don't think they will. >> No, I don't. I think. >> Who will they go for? Do you think they. go for Ross? I think they'll think he's. suspicious. I think. >> Yeah, I think they Yes, I think they now. know that there's heat. So, I think. you're right that they will pick one of. Robes. >> It's a big call to get rid of Romesh. >> Yeah. >> I mean, he's so good in there. I mean, Robert is as well, but but Romesh, he.
has a certain kind of he really does. have a status about him. So, I wonder if. they'll. >> I'm looking forward to seeing the. discussion of it. >> Yeah, like the really really reluctant. discussion. So, I think. >> that would be very. >> I think they might vote I would vote off. Leanne. I think they might vote off Rob. And then the only question for next. Thursday as well is who goes in the next. round table. And you think maybe maybe. James Blunt. >> Yeah, it's coming for James Blunt for. sure. And it might be enough to take it. off Hannah, >> but it will swing back to her. I would.
have thought in fairly short order. >> I maybe James Blunt versus whoever. suffers the fallout of being in these. >> crypts. And we know not who that is. And. if it's nobody, then it's going to be. absolute carnage because then Hannah. Fry's data points are absolutely all. over the place. But it's again, it. hasn't it slightly hasn't settled. I do. slightly wonder if the moment Julie. said, "Uh, I am a faithful is the moment. the show actually started. The moment. where we're like, oh, okay, look, this.
is for real now. We are getting rid of. faithfuls." They've suddenly put four. interesting people into these crypts. And I know they're not particular team. at the moment, but at least the game has. begun. At least we're in real traitors. territory again now. Um, but uh the next. episode will tell us far more. But I I. cannot see I cannot see those three as a. group of traitors sticking together for. too many more episodes. It's just it. feels they definitely could do cuz. there's enough people that that they.
could be shedding. I just feel like. because two of them don't want to be. there, I think it's going to be very. very hard. >> Yeah. Unless they can com their failure. to commit, they've taken too long to. commit and I think that they just won't. properly cohhere at all now. They're not. going to come together realistically now. as a group because they haven't done so. far and things keep going wrong. >> Final question. >> Yeah. >> Okay. If you're Maya Yeah. >> and Maya wants to be a traitor, Ingress. says she's the only one who got the. memo. >> I know. Hey, >> she's she's the only one who sort of who. who who sort of was at the meeting. If.
you were Maya and those other two fall. by the wayside at some point, >> which two people would you recruit so. you can go right through to the end of. the game, which who who would be a good. turret? I I would absolutely. Yeah, >> Joe Lyset and Yeah, I mean Michael I. think will be a liability to be. perfectly honest with you. Um, >> Bash Kenny. >> Um, Bash would be very good because I. just don't think because you it's such a. strong position that I think Joe Lice it. would fall by the wayside. But her and.
Bash could do the endgame together. perhaps. >> Yeah. Yeah. And again, there's people we. haven't heard as much of Sharon, people. like that. It's hard to know how people. react when when they when they become. traitors, but she if Maya can get at. least one other [clears throat] traitor. who wants to be a traitor. Well, she's. always got murder of a colleague on her. mind because even saying that thing. about um uh Hannah, you know, I don't. want to kill her yet or I don't get rid. of her yet. You know, it's almost like. there has you can feel that she there's. an inevitability for self-preservation.
>> And as viewers, we're saying, "Yeah, I. would." Honestly, Maya, I probably. would, but I I think given one extra. person, I think she she has final three. >> written all over her, final four written. all over her, and then and then then we. see where we go. But uh yeah, I do think. uh I think the game is finally a foot. Uh and next week uh next Thursday, we'll. find out who they chuck out. We will. find out who's going to get uh kicked. off at that round table. Uh and then I.
think the fun really really begins. >> Thanks so much everybody. We look. forward to seeing you again next week. >> Yeah. I can't believe we have to wait. till next Thursday. It doesn't seem. fair. Yeah. They should let us watch. them all now. >> and then we just talk about them. >> Yeah. >> See you next time. Next time. [music].
