If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any.
further. >> Hey, let's go. This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful. >> McAfee on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers. You pick. >> Damn it. >> Be a friend. Tell a friend something. nice could change their life.
Hello and welcome to our humble abode, the DraftKings Thunderdome on this GOAT. Wednesday, September 30th, 2026. This. program begins now. >> FOOTBALL IS THE GREATEST. We got. obviously another week of NFL football. kicking off tomorrow night in the AFC. North in Cleveland as Todd Monkin and. Deshawn Watson are hosting the. Pittsburgh Steelers, Aaron Rogers and. Mike McCarthy. Obviously, all eyes are.
on that and storylines are in abundance. in this magical sports world that we are. so lucky to live in. Now, Aaron Rogers, TJ Wad, and that entire Pittsburgh. Steelers team looks vastly different. than they have in recent history. We'll. chitchat with a man who's from. Pittsburgh in a matter of moments about. all of that. and Deshun Watson is able. to win a football game as a starting. quarterback in the year 2026. A lot of. people surprised by all of that. Cannot. wait to see what Prime has in store. Allegedly reporting this morning by a. rat. Uh Kirk Herbstreet's getting an.
extension with Amazon Herby. >> Congrats to uh Herby signing a new deal. with Amazon. We appreciate him. continuing to not only kick off the. football weekend, but obviously being a. part of game day and Saturday night's. college football main event on ABC. What. a legend with how much he has. contributed to sport as a whole. I'm. happy to see him have success as opposed. to a lot of bums that have microphones. in this particular industry. Now, I. usually mind my own. Uh, but if you. thought I was being serious whenever I.
pointed out that Jason Kelce was saying. we about the Philadelphia Eagles, knowing who Jason Kelsey is with the. Philadelphia Eagles at the Monday Night. Football halftime, you have no brain. And uh, I think you should just realize. that. And I I I don't love just the. lying and the stuff that happens on my. name at these days. But just like saying. stuff to continue to add, you know, gas. to a flame that isn't real when you're. in this place and carry as much weight.
as you definitely do. I think it's just. a little bit of uh piling on. And I hope. you all rot all of you. Talks the tables. here at Boston Connor and at Tai. Schmidt. Nine-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler is here. a man who was in the NFL. for uh 12 years, Super Bowl champion. A. man who was uh not only a player, but. also a coach. Now, he coaches folks and. commentates on Arizona Cardinals games. He's been a part of every single. organization that you basically know of. This man's been cut, released, and. resigned 75 times in his NFL career,
ladies and gentlemen. A ship. >> AQ. How you doing, brother? >> I'm doing great. What a week of. football, huh? >> Yeah, football has certainly been. delivering for us. College has been. great. The NFL has been fantastic. And. uh for you, I think you're excited to. see the football that's being played. back in Pittsburgh. Tomorrow night, Cleveland hosts the Pittsburgh Steelers. I think this is a nice classic clash of. AFC North rivals, and they're both. playing good football and seemingly have. juice in the building again about being. good. There's a takeaway, you think, from this past weekend that needs to be. talked about or this season that hasn't.
been hit enough leading into tomorrow. night. Go ahead, AQ. >> Yeah, it's certainly been talked about a. lot. Bully Bowl is back in the Berg. Let's take a look at the Pittsburgh. Steelers. Listen, their offensive line. played their best football that I've. seen since the Pouncy and Dcastro days. I mean, it was incredible to watch. I. turned on the film and it started with. the first play, which we will get to on. this second clip. But on the first play, let's talk about a play that gained. massive attention this week. Right, let's look at the double team on the. left. We're going to see a double team. between Mason McCormack and Frasier.
Zack Frasier, the center out of. >> West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia legend, actually. >> That's right. That's right. So, we get. two double teams. This is a classic duo. play. But right there, high leg gallop. You see him gallop in. He gets. underneath Dexter Lawrence. He's using. his left hand. You do not see it. The. ref used to be placed at the linebacker, but he lifts that left leg up and uses. his shoulder and takes Big Dex back 10. yards. I mean, incredible. >> Is that cheating, though? Cuz I saw a. tweet. Do we Do we have the tweet uh. that I'm sure you've seen the first.
clip, but Mason McCormack was doing this. all game. New technique or illegal? Ask. Joe Goodberry. And I heard a lot of. Bengals fans saying, "This doesn't seem. like what is allowed to happen in a. football game. Is this legal, AQ? And is. this what Dexter Lawrence is going to. have to face, a single leg takedown as. somebody else is lifting up his upper. body? It feels like you offensive. linemen are finding new ways to cheat. every single day.". >> I mean, it is certainly not legal. It is. definitely an illegal move. >> But but my argument all the time is the.
guys on the other side of the line on. the defense, they do a lot of illegal. things, too. They grab shirts to prevent. Jordan Milada from getting out to the. defensive end, which caused a sack in. week one. Right? There's so many of. these things, these little nuances on. every single play that do not get. called. This was genius by him. It's. also genius. And I I don't know if he. knew this going into it, but knowing. where the referee is. The referee used. to be at linebacker depth on the. defensive side, and they have since. moved two guys to behind the offense. So, pretty brilliant move on his part. >> Okay. So, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
offensive line, though, not just the. picking up the legs of Dexter Lawrence. You're thinking that they're playing old. school Pittsburgh Steeler football. again. >> I mean, we were so used to watching the. Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lines. dominate for decades and decades and. decades. That play is awesome. Let's go. to the next clip and the very first play. of this game. Really cool formation. You. see those little circles right there? That's normally where you would put the. tight ends if you were trying to get. chips, but they have them in in this. little diamond formation in the back. field. First play scripted first 15. Let's put Darnell Washington at a tight.
end. He's going to come downhill. There. he is highlighted. Let's get a chip on. their best player. Let's make them know. Set the tone on Dexter Lawrence. We get. the ball out right there. Now, let's. look at Frier down. >> First play of the game. >> First play of the game. We're setting. the tone. We're letting them know. And. then Frier Mouth gets the pancake. Obviously, Jaylen Warren does what he. does. Unbelievable. But listen, first. 15, first play. Your first play should. be the best. You script that. You know. that. This is the game plan. and we're. going to let them know first play we're. getting a chip on you. >> Okay. So instead they move in Friouth in.
Mount Washington and they let Dexter. Lawrence know hey you might not be on. the outside but we're going to chip the. hell out of you all damn day. First play. of the game 6 foot what is he. >> 7 350. >> 315 left shoulder boom through the. sternum. Love everything about it. There. was a lot of uh you know Mike McCarthy. seemingly back in bag, but it all. revolves around being physical. It feels. like is what you're saying. >> It's downhill. I mean, that's what Mike. McCarthy was so good at. It was always. inside zone. It was one back power. It.
was duo scheme when he was in Green Bay. Then Arthur Smith comes to Pittsburgh, right? And he gets him into this wide. zone kind of finesse game. Now they are. back. They are back to doing what they. did for decades. Back to being physical. that when you turn on the tape, there's. not a single person that can turn on. this tape and tell me that the. Pittsburgh Steelers did not out physical. a defense that has been playing. fantastic, have been wreaking havoc in. the Cincinnati Bengals. >> How do you feel tomorrow night's game is. going to go? Just an early prediction on. the Cleveland Browns taking on this. bullying of the Pittsburgh Steelers. >> Well, I think it's really hard for.
anybody to take Deshawn Watson over. Aaron Rogers. I think we start there. But again, this is going to be a classic. offensive line versus defensive line. matchup. I think the Cleveland Browns. have a very good defensive line and. Mason Graham and Malik Collins on the. inside. They got Jared Verse. They've. been doing some weird stuff with Jared. Vers on third down having him stand up. and do this kind of amoeba defense not. really working. I wish they would just. let him get back to rushing the tackle. >> Okay, so other storylines coming out of. this weekend, not just the bully ball. there for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Let's. just chat about the Ravens Cowboys. coming down to the end. You were a coach.
obviously in this league. Uh you're a. coach now on the side. I know you know. situational football inside and out. because you're a center. Um, tell me. about the Cowboys just down the stretch. there. Or is that more so Ravens. execution, too? Because all those bad. things have to happen. Time out at 14. seconds, quick throw out of bounds, uh, tie it up, give R, uh, kick the ball out. of the back of the end zone. Ball comes. out to the 35. Lamar Jackson now has 7. seconds to execute a play that I didn't. know was even possible to execute in 7. seconds. Like, who's it on there? Who's. it on? >> I think it's a little bit of both. I. think you start with the Cowboys. coaching staff. I think that timeout and.
then obviously kicking the ball out of. the end zone. You just kick that thing. in and make them waste a little bit of. time, that game is over. you cannot get. a play going in 4 seconds or 3 seconds. or whatever that would have come down. to. But again, the 14-second timeout was. a massive mistake. I mean, we it's a. very critical mistake and a very. critical point in the game. But again, the the execution of the the get down. play, if you will, for the Baltimore. Ravens being able to complete that pass, get down, get the timeout, and then get. the kickoff. What a kick, too. I mean, unbelievable kick. >> Yeah. Yeah. 56-yd field goal by Tyler.
Loop there in Rio. Obviously, he hits. the sue in real life. Having that type. of forethought before making a 56-yd. field goal, I like that. That tells me. the confidence is where it needs to be. He comes off an ending of a season last. year where it did not go well at all. Actual nightmare scenario for him. Missing against the Pittsburgh Steelers, obviously losing the AFC North title. that evening, not making the playoffs, and then a whole rebuild at the coaching. staff. All. >> potentially because he missed a kick. >> Yeah. Now, there was as we had the.
hammer dad died. What was the name of. that uh father who did the uh the the. holy water on the field gimmick that. potentially made Tyler Loop miss that. field goal? >> Father uh Fitz McGonagal Patrick or. something something along those lines. >> No, his name's Maxillion. I mean, I had. the answer. I was just, you know, trying. to get you into the conversation there. Uh Father Maximillion was down there. throwing the holy water. Potentially. changes the trajectory of the Baltimore. Ravens forever. Tyler Luke makes that. kick. And Tone, I know you don't know.
this yet, but we have big news for Tyler. Loop, don't we? >> Yes, we do. Um, I believe he is. potentially the AFC Special Teams player. OF THE WEEK. >> TONE, GOOD GUESS. Congratulations to Baltimore. Ravens, Tyler Loop, on being the. >> Yeah, they they messed something up. there. >> The graphic. >> Oh, they flipped it. >> Special teams, who cares? Put them on. either side. NFC or AFC. Now we could re. Oh no. Send that out. Let's take that.
down. >> Congrats to these guys. Hey, congrats. Brock Bowers, Huanga, Miles, Bryce. Bejon, Sunny Styles. Round out the six. players of the week. The Ravens are on. the AFC. And the Vikings are in the NFC. So, congrats to Brock Bowers, Huanga, and Tyler Loop being the AFC players of. the week. And Bejon Robinson who went. absolutely crazy. Absolutely crazy. Probably gonna see more of that. Sunonny. Styles, I think he had 13. I believe so. Yeah, whatever the case. was. All over the place. Congrats to.
him. Starting his career in a fantastic. fashion, getting a player of the week. here in week three. And then Miles. Price, wide receiver of the Vikings. He. gets a special teams player of the week. for the NFC. Love giving those. I also. love that we got some real sports like. we got some real playoff atmosphere. H. last night in the NHL. Carolina Hurricanes had their banner. night five o'clock in front of uh 40,000. Kaniacs brother or 30,000 Kaniacs down. there celebrating.
>> the intro for the Stanley Cup down. there. >> They had the Florida Panthers twotime. champions before this. >> Mhm. >> Lot of championship pedigree on that. They had them sit in the bench. Is that. normal? Nick Nikki Skates. Is that. normal that they had them sit out there. for that entire presentation? Yeah, the. sitting out there, the visiting team. sitting out there is normal. What what. wasn't normal to me and this has become. like a new thing is to bring the cup out. and celebrate with it like you've won it. again almost like normally they'll wheel. the cup out just let you know it's.
there. Put it on display. The guys were. skating around with it last night. Jordan Stall Stally was kissing it. The. captain of the Hurricanes, he was. passing around everybody. They were. patting it around. It was a big celebr. Yeah, it was a weird It was very weird. I mean, the celebration was awesome. They obviously earned it. Congrats to. the Kaniacs having a chance to revisit. what it was like to win it like it was. just yesterday and do an entire. presentation. Them having the Florida. Panthers sit out, they introduced every.
person on the team, every coach on the. team, they had a spotlight on everything. and then at the very end and now. boom and Staly comes out with that thing. up over his head, skates around, they. start dancing on there. It was like a. 15minute. I mean, it was so long. It was. They're just sitting there watching that. entire thing. I'm like, you got both the. Kachchuck sitting over there just. watching this entire thing unfold. Forget about Yeah, I certainly an. [ __ ] move, I guess, if you were to. view it that way. But in my head, there. was no way the Panthers were going to.
lose. There was zero chance the Panthers. were going to lose that game. I just. thought having that particular group, I. mean, you got Marshy over, you you got. the Chucks over there. You got a bunch. of dogs in that uh bench over there, having to watch this entire, you know, celebration in their face. Basically, I. I just that felt like an obvious win for. the Panthers. They do get to overtime. So, a point was earned by the. Hurricanes. Panthers inevitably get a. win with less than like 5 seconds left. in the entirety of it. Could have had a. tie ball game uh potentially to start. this entire thing. NHL had a hell of a.
night. They have another one tonight as. the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Flyers. kick off TNT's run uh of their NHL. season. We'll have Wayne Gretzky joining. us in an hour and 17 minutes or so to. chitchat about everything that's taking. place tonight and what we should look. for in this league uh in the NHL this. year. >> Tickets up. >> Yeah, >> for the NHL. >> 106% 102% 103%. Opening night was huge. for the NHL. I assume tonight will be. the exact same. This sport is awesome. Hockey is awesome. And if you want to.
pick up a team that you like either want. to love or hate, Florida Panthers are a. great one. I I mean, they're going to be. a very physical ball club. They're going. to get into fights. They're going to be. in it down the stretch. You're going to. have a chance to win a cup and there's. going to be a lot of people that hate. them, but there's going to be a lot of. people hate them. So, if you would like. to hate them, I think you could do that. If you want to love them, I think you'll. have a great season. The NHL is about to. cook. MLB though last night wildcard. round that thing was electrifying until. what 3:00 a.m. It felt like those games. went on forever. >> Ty. >> Yeah, for sure. And it started when we.
were in the office yesterday. You know, we were watching Philly's Braves and, you know, 3-2 in the bottom of the. eighth inning. Braves, who I think a lot. of people, you know, assume are going to. make a deep run in the playoffs, wondering, hey, what's going on here? and we got kind of our first taste of. true playoff baseball as Austin Riley. hit a three-run homer to put the Braves. up five to three and and kind of uh you. know cap that game. So, we got to see. that. And then the White Socks and the. Astros uh is one game who you know I. think a lot of people just assume. whoever wins this one's probably going.
to lose next round, but still a very. entertaining game. The White Socks win. that one 6-3 and then you know to the. the two night cap games um you know they. they were kind of blowouts. The Yankees. end up beating the Red Sox 9- nothing on. the back of two kids from Massachusetts. Ben Rice, who hit two homers, including. a g a grand slam, and Cam Schlitler, who. just absolutely shoved down the Red Sox. throat like he has done his entire. career. And then in the late game, we. talked about it a little bit yesterday,
if you don't really have a team or you. don't have a dog in the fight, this San. Diego Padres's team is going to be very, very fun to watch. Slam Diego, Fernando. Tatis Jr. in the first inning hits a. massive bomb. PCA almost robs it and. then a few batters later, Mandy Machado. hit a homer. The Padres's end up winning. big over the Cubs. So, kind of. everything we talked about yesterday. Um, a great night to start. And kudos to. the MLB because I feel like in years. past sometimes these would start on like. a Friday or a Saturday and we you'd be.
trying to watch these games in between. college football and the NFL, but. putting it midweek like this where all. you're competing with is the start of. the NHL season, uh, it's been awesome. And we got four more games again. tonight. >> Yeah. In baseball, whenever it matters, it matters. >> Yes. Big time. >> And when it doesn't, it don't. >> You can make that argument. You can. You. really can. because it does seem like. when the lights are the brightest and. the uh playoffs start, all the big stars. show up and it's kind of like why are. these guys playing 162 games? But again,
when the playoffs start, it is it is. fireworks every single game. >> And now what was the stat we learned. yesterday about these wild card series. is? >> Yeah, I believe it was 21 of 24 teams. If they win game one of these best of. three wild card series, they go on to. win the series. >> Oh god, man. Yeah. >> Hey, that's going to happen. But don't. let us win tonight. Don't Don't let us. win tonight. >> You guys had a rough outing, they said. >> Yeah, it was it wasn't great. Uh, a lot. of stuff that you watch as a baseball. casual that doesn't make sense. We pull.
Payton to in the fourth inning, I think, and then the next at bat after boom, give up a home run. I don't know why you. don't run these guys into the freaking. ground if you only have a three-game. series. You're not going to see Payton. again if we lose the entire thing. tonight. And again, if we were going to. win the series, we wouldn't see him till. game two or three. So, he would probably. have about a week off or so. So, it. didn't make much sense to me. But again, that's just me watching from afar. wondering why the hell I'm doing this.
when I got NHL on right after. >> Well, and that might be, you know, a. manager who's in a little over his skis. because on the flip side, Cam Schlitler. threw 117 pitches last night. He is the. AL Sai Young. He's going to be the. Yankees ace. He threw the most pitches. in a playoff game since I believe 2012. when CC Sabathia did it for the Yankees. So that was like a true throwback like, hey, we're basically going to send this. kid out there until his arm throws off. And I don't think you're going to be. seeing too many guys throw 117 pitches. in a playoff game. >> Yeah. Well, we'll see how he responds.
>> You know, we'll see how he responds. If. next game it's not good, I mean, he's. going to get absolutely crushed. >> Well, maybe. But he's got he's got a. full slate of rest now, and he's a young. kid. He's only 25 years old. He's from. the Boston area. Wait, I heard a lot. about the World Baseball Classic wearing. these guys down. He got 117 pitches in. the playoffs. >> He He didn't play in the World Baseball. Classic, so that could be, you know, that could be part of it. >> I want to see a full game. I want, you. know, I don't know how many of those. have ever happened. I just, in my head, I think old school pitchers, these guys. go full games. These guys, you got to. pry the ball out of their hands. They're.
not handing it over until there's. somebody that they think is better with. the ball than they are. CeCe Sebathia. told us what I was going to be handing. it off to Rivera. >> Yeah. Or or nobody. Yeah, he he said uh. like if somebody was coming out to get. me, I'll hand it off to Mariano. Yeah, but other than that, this one's sticking. with me, brother. That's how we're doing. it. Can't even be like that anymore, I. guess. Huh. Cuz all the stats and. analytics. >> Yeah. Guys throw too hard and guys. strike out four innings. That was a. joke. And that's just like, you know, as. an as a Yankees fan, sure. But if if I. was a Red Sox fan, I'd be livid. They're.
talking all season. Again, it was his it. was his first ever playoff start, so. maybe that has something to do with it. But like you could he was getting hit a. little bit but he had only given up one. run to that point. They let him throw. four and a third and it is kind of just. like hey this guy's supposed to be the. ace. Let him kind of let him go earn it. and then they get bit in the ass as soon. as they pull him out of the game. >> Chris Sale absolute beast. Great to see. him friend of the broker. We had a. chance to catch up with him. Okay let's. pivot back to the NFL. Let's talk about. an ace. A real ace ladies and gentlemen.
He's in number one booth for CBS. He was. in Brazil down there in Rio standing in. Brazilian guys piss. That's right, >> ladies and gentlemen. JJ Watt. >> JJ, >> let me find it. Let me stand right here. That was awesome to see. You got after. it though in that gym, I assume you're. drenched. I I don't know how hot it was. If it seems like you really got after. it, you telling the story of trying to. find some shade in a corner and. inevitably standing in these dudes piss, it it brightened my day. I want to let. you know I got a good pop out of it. I I.
assume many others. How long were you in. there, P, before you realized it? And uh. any other stories or mishaps from Rio. that we need to know about? >> Um I was I was in it for about three or. four seconds. I was in it for about. three or four seconds. >> That's a lie. Sounds like you were in. there a minute or two at least. >> Listen listen, I was in there for 3 or 4. seconds, but then as you're realizing. it, you're also realizing like, okay, as. fast as I move out of here, is it really. that big of a deal? Five more seconds.
So, I just meandered out of the corner. It wasn't like a a spider bit my foot. and I jumped out of the corner. It was. like, "Ah, shit.". >> Yeah. >> Uh, and did they all point and laugh? Big big dumb American. How How' they. handle. >> Not a single Nobody Nobody gave me like. a heads up. Nobody. No. But I will say. this about that gym. First of all, incredible gym. Literally overlooking. the ocean. Gorgeous. Um, wow. >> Awesome atmosphere because there's just. something about gymgoers where like it.
was, hey, you know, you need a spot or. you hop in and you help spot somebody. else and everybody was just it was this. cool little flow and respect for. everybody there. It was a it was a. special environment there. >> Yeah, I could imagine a special. environment in Rio as you're working. You were stronger than everybody. Were. you big dumb American? How' you do you. feel like you performed for us or or how. do you think you represent? >> Yeah, we uh we maxed her out. We maxed. her out there. Uh, as you can see there, uh, those numbers are in kilos and they. don't go very high. And so I was doing. math while I was lifting, but then at.
some point I said, you know what? I'm. not going to do any math. I'm just going. to go grab the biggest one. And uh, realized the biggest one wasn't big. enough. So we just hit reps. We just hit. a lot of reps. We hit a lot of reps. >> Thank you for representing. >> Let's go, Jade. >> Hey, we needed that. That's a big deal. As you know, we And I like the thought. of you trying to do math with kilos. I. watched Norcco. I think that's a lot of. cocaine. Uh let me see how many kilos. Uh I think that would be about three. planes worth there. I'm not 100% sure. How heavy did it feel? What was the max.
amount there? And were you by far. >> I think that I think that 85 you're. looking at there. So 2.2 time 85, you. know, somewhere just under 200 lb. >> And were you grunting or was it just. like. >> that might be wrong. I This could be the. disaster on air. Just absolute. >> There's a lot of math. >> Don't worry about that. There's a lot of. those. Were you um were you grunting? Like what what what do you think was. your. >> No, absolutely not. No, absolutely not. No, I hit some squats with that one. Uh. did some single leg RDL's. Uh you know,
some Bulgarian split squats. There's. It's It's like the Flintstones, dude. In. the very back corner there, you can see. they created pulley systems that are. just attached to huge rocks and so. you're just doing like literal Fred. Flintstone push downs. >> It's It's It was pretty cool, man. >> Yeah. I like that you got out and uh. meandered around. Did you head anywhere. else around Rio that we need to know. about? And would you recommend to others. taking the flight? >> It was great. It was great. I have to. say it was awesome. You know, I mean,
people kept telling me like, "Hey, watch. your chain. Like, don't walk around.". I'm like, "If somebody if somebody wants. to try and take this chain off my neck, like, well, all right, let's do it.". >> They just saw me at the gym. They. >> doing I did the super kilos, dude. I. >> didn't have a single issue with any of. that. went up to Christ the Redeemer. Unbelievable view. Unbelievable. Like. there's just an aura about it. It's it's. special. Um and I I think people might. have seen the story that while I was. having my personal moment with Christ.
the Redeemer and just kind of paying my. respects, never in a trillion years thought it. would be Stephen A. Smith to interrupt. the moment. I thought, you know, maybe. you that would be that wouldn't have. been as crazy, but it was it was wild. So ESPN's finest just tapping me in the. belly as I'm talking to old Christ. >> What are you doing? >> I like that. Did you tell him what you. were doing? And he say, "My bad. I will. wait over here." Or what was the. interaction like? >> Well, that's why I had sunglasses on so. he couldn't see that my eyes were.
closed. Um, but I was standing I can't. see if I can get this on the camera. I. was standing like this and I was just. looking up like this. >> Oh. And then it was just was right in. the right in the gut and and like what. the hell. So I looked down and I'm like. I was like he played it cool. He played. he was what's up. >> I had to look down from the Okay. I was. looking down from the big dog. >> I do. I got to be around Stephen A in.
LA. I mean incredible energy whenever. like he's around. It was that's special. The thought though that you're asking. Jesus, maybe just send me a sign, man, that I'm doing it all right and that the. family's okay. Wham! Jesus is really uh. operating in crazy. >> Why was he there? Why was he in Brazil? It was a CBS game. >> Excuse me. We got ESPN Brazil down. there. It does a lot of great work. Okay. And it's uh he took a trip down. He got an interview, I believe, with. Commissioner Goodell. He got to learn.
about their uh entire culture. I saw he. got to meet some folks, dance some. folks. He was representing for uh ESPN. down there. Hey, that we love sports, you know, which we which we certainly. do. I appreciated him just hanging out. there at that stadium though because he. does his show uh first take and he's got. Stephen A. Smith's show just hanging out. that stadium and it looks like he was. just living. >> Yep. >> Then coming right back. >> I mean, he's doing it right, I would. say. >> That's so funny you think of you talking. to Jesus right there, though. >> And then of wearing he was wearing a.
jersey, too. I think he was wearing a. flamingo jersey. He had a hat on. He. also had one earphone in with the wires. >> Uh it was just a a scene. It was just it. was it was a scene. It was. >> Had you ever met him before? Is that. first time meeting him right there in. front of J? >> Yeah. No. Yeah, I I know him a little. bit. Uh so it wasn't like a complete. like wild, but it was just. >> Did you finish your your prayer? Did you. finish your prayer or No. >> Uh it it kind of turned into a little. bit of a picture fest after that. Like I. was in and out. I was in and out.
>> Hey, how you doing? Yeah. Me and Jesus. >> Here it is. Here's JJ and uh Mr. A. Smith having a moment there, you know. Uh. >> where is this from? I haven't seen this. >> That's Stephen A. Smith. Rio, y'all are. keeping me busy. Christ the Redeemer to. Escodaria Celeron. Music exaggerado by. Mcvilla. Okay. Any uh Okay. So, you want. to saw Christ Redeemer? You did the uh. Piss corner at the gym. You uh. >> Brazilian steakhouse. Phenomenal.
>> sword. >> Phenomenal. Yeah. Lots of swords. Lots. of them. >> Green, red, >> forever green. Just until I stand up. Just forever green. Just keep it going. >> So, they do the same way we do it. We. didn't exaggerate that or mocker mock it. and ruin it like everybody says we. >> pretty surprised by that. I thought for. sure there was going to be some. difference. I will say there's their. like sides and salad bar thing, which is. is just trying to get you to eat less. meat. Uh, incredible. Like I mean. gigantic. Incredible. And their meat was.
it was fantastic. I mean the pana. stunning. >> They just had like 50 different kinds. Like I feel like up here we have like. four or five you know. >> that they bring around. >> It was it was like I think like 18 to 20. types they had. It was spectacular. >> J good for you. They never seen a walk. come in there too. Remember he had like. 50 pancakes for breakfast every day of. his life and he had two dinners and then. an extra one. You know dad firefighter. good chef. Mom says, "We got big boys.
here." They start feeding this kid since. he's a child. He was almost made to go. to a Brazilian steakhouse and say, "Hey, for America, Green, I need all of these. swords. I want every sword in my mouth.". >> Mhm. >> I want all your meat in my mouth. Is. that what you were saying? >> All right. All right. All right. >> I don't know how to say in Portuguese. I'm I'm assuming you learned how to say. put that meat in my mouth. In. Portuguese. And that's why we're happy. you were the one representing our. country down there. You're the man for. that. Now, let's talk about being on the. call for a magical moment that happened.
down there. Tyler Loop hits from 56. yards, okay, to win that thing in a. soccer stadium. Hits the Ronaldo Sue, Lamar Jackson sprinting down with him. The entire squad is going down there. Whenever there is so much uh malpractice. happening on the other side for game. management and we love Shotty, we think. Shotti is going to be a great head. coach. these situations do pop up early. in people's head coaching careers and. hopefully they learn from it going. forward. But as you're kind of watching. this all unravel, do you think to. yourself, "Wow, we're about to have a. magical moment here in Brazil." How did.
you kind of in real time think about. what was happening in front of your. eyes? >> Yeah, it was it was pretty wild. I mean, obviously, you see the Cowboys go down. and the way that they handled the the. final little stretch there and the throw. and the clock and everything that came. along with it, but then Lamar being. Lamar and Zay being Zay and executing. that play and also knowing how Jesse. Mentor the seven sec. I mean, it's. literally never been done before in. history. 7 seconds doing that, being.
able to bang the timeout, kick the field. goal. It's the first time in history. it's ever been done. So to be able to. sit there and witness that and see how. they executed it and Lamar being heady. enough and obviously having practiced it. so many times to bang the timeout while. he's sprinting down the field. Uh it was. a wild moment, dude. And that that. entire second half, the stadium was. electric. Like it was they were all. excited for the game and everything was. was fun and the leadup and the buildup. in the first half, but that second half. of the game was unbelievable. And it.
there were fourth down and one stops for. each side. And then you get down to the. goal line and there's the goal line. stand there by Barham where he stops. Derrick Henry and then you know they. drive all the way down the field and. score and it was just back to forth. Boom boom boom and then the final play. sums the whole game up. It was chaos. It. was crazy. Wild game. Awesome game to. call. >> Yeah. Great for Rio. And you know we. assume that the Rio entire community and. region is now Ravens fans. Did it feel. like that as you were watching the game?
Because we saw a lot of different. jerseys in the crowd. Whenever uh the. Colts went over and played in London, it. felt like there was uh NBA jerseys, there was MLB jerseys, there was just. like American sports celebration kind of. happening. Now it's vastly different now. over there. But down there in Rio, what. did you see from the fans that were at. the game? And by the end, did it feel. like it was a Ravens crowd? You know, it's interesting because I. think a lot of people expect Cowboys. fans to take over wherever they go just. because of the history and Cowboys fans. are what they are. But there were a ton.
of Baltimore Ravens fans down there. And. you look at the crowd, there were tons. of Ravens jerseys. They absolutely loved. Lamar in Brazil. He is he was very. clearly a favorite down there. Obviously. Dak and the Cowboys, too. But Lamar was. a big-time fan favorite when he ran out. onto the field for warm-ups. Place went. nuts. I mean, obviously they do the. exact same thing for the Cowboys, but it. was I would say it was at best split. 50/50. It was a really, really good. showing and the Ravens fans should be. proud. I mean, it it kind of goes to. Lamar's quote from the week leading up.
to it where he said, "Dallas is. America's team and that's not America.". So, they they I if you were a fan in. Brazil and that was your first game, you're absolutely hooked for life. I. mean, I don't know how you couldn't be. Just watching that made me think about. how we have had these discussions in the. past about we need the Baltimore Ravens. and Lamar Jackson to get to the Super. Bowl because there's a lot of people. around the world that that's the only. football game they watch every single. year. Could you imagine somebody Lamar. Jackson popping on the screen and just.
being like, I didn't know. So, he's the. fastest guy. He can throw better than. everybody. He's seemingly one of the. best leaders that we have. And what what. else? Uh yeah, he's about to win the. Super Bowl. Wow, I didn't know that was. possible. He would change the world's. view, I think, on football if he was to. play. There was a stat that was uh I saw. the other day as we were getting ready. for Bears Eagles, which we're going to. ask you about here in a second. It's. like Jaylen Herz, I think, averages over. 40 yards a rush or 40 yards a game.
rushing. And I think that's the third. highest in the history of the NFL behind. Michael Vic, Lamar Jackson, and Jaylen. Herz is in there as well. And he's at 30. something this year. It's a little bit. lower than his normal, but like what. Lamar Jackson did to football to us to. Americans whenever Michael Vic as well. But what Lamar Jackson had been able to. do and continue to do if he was just. dropped onto the global sphere like he. was in Rio for the Super Bowl and people. got to watch him do it, especially with. what it seems to be this Declan Doyle. offense, which I think we like in this. Jesse Mentor defense. I think we like. this team, right? Don't I I think the.
Ravens. >> they're very impressive. They're very. impressive. I think they're figuring. things out in their early days. Obviously, in week two, they had the. third and one and some of those things. where they lost to the Saints, but I. think that the more they grow and the. better they get, yes, I think it's a. very impressive staff and obviously a. very talented roster. I mean, we're not. even talking about the defense, Kyle. Hamilton and some of the pieces they. have over there. Um, certainly I I would. imagine that team continues to grow and. they seem to be having a whole lot of. fun. >> And on the flip side, the Cowboys almost. beat them. Yeah. So, the Cowboys also. very good. It's early in the season.
Let's not say everybody's dead forever. Even though we. >> they have so many injuries in the back. end for the Cowboys, man. Like it was. crazy. We knew going into the game that. they had these two safeties down. They. had Kobe Durant down. And then during. the game, I mean DB, you saw like it was. boom boom boom. And all of a sudden. you're like, are you going to have a. human body to put out there at DB? It. was insane. And same with the Ravens at. center. Ravens are down three centers. Like that's that's unbelievable. Yeah, they put Venga Yuani, their first round. pick guard in at center at the end of.
the game. >> Okay, so last question about that. That. sounds crazy that they were this early. in the season and there's already that. many injuries happen. I think Carolina. Panthers just lost both their corners. >> Yep. Yep. >> I think they just lost both their. corners. I mean, that's tough. >> Packers O line, San Fran, Dline, >> San Fran, Patriots have 18 guys on IR as. well. >> Okay. >> Yeah, long season. Hey, let's add. another game, too. >> Need to need to need to add another game. in there. We need to remember these. conversations that are happening after. just week three whenever we're thinking. about how long the season can be. Last.
question for me before the boys have a. bunch. Case Keenum, and I mentioned it. earlier about going back to Monday night. with the Bears and the Eagles. First of. all, Soldier Field was unbelievable. That place was the weather was perfect. The night seemingly went perfect for. Case Keenum and Ben Johnson other than. like a goal line, you know, um mishap. where if Rome catches that, he he has. four touchdowns on the night if Rome. catches that entire thing. So, can you. tell me why you think Case Keenum good? Why you think Ben Johnson is seemingly. inevitable? And are you worried about. the Eagles? Are you pumped about the.
Bears? How do you come out of Monday. night? >> It's a good question, Pat. That's a good. question. First of all, Case Keenum, former teammate of mine, uh, Houston. guy, so certainly have a lot of. connections there and was extremely. happy to see him step in and play so. well and the moment, you know, with his. daughter and everything after the game, like really special stuff. Now you ask. why? Like how is he able to step in and. do that? Case Keenum is the perfect. backup quarterback you could ever ask. for. It is literally the same as having. a quarterback coach in your room.
full-time. And I think any room would. benefit from having Case Keenum in it. And after his career, whenever he. decides to hang it up, I think this is. only going to extend it. But whenever he. does, he is going to be an incredible. coach if he chooses to do so. Now you. add a mind like that with AR that's. still able to do it and you add Ben and. Johnson's offense which can scheme. everything up and all like you have to. drop back red and deliver it. That is. the perfect storm for somebody like Case. Kum to be able to step in and do it so. well and you watched it happen the other.
night. It's it's thoroughly thoroughly. impressive and I'm very happy. I'm. curious to see have they said yet what. they're doing this week? >> Uh I would assume Case is going to play. I I just I know that that can. potentially be a mystery all the way up. until kickoff, which they were kind of. doing this past week. Like we're not. confirming that Case Genum is a starter. Tyson Bean still might play. And I think. for us, it wasn't until like Case Gum. joged on the field that it was like, "All right, it's definitely Case Genum.". So I think they'll probably keep that a. mystery this entire time. I think they. have a lot of faith in Tyson Beijing.
because they paid him, I think, eight or. nine million dollars to be the backup. quarterback. I got a chance to chat with. him. He's obviously a stud, but whenever. you go crazy like that, I don't know how. you don't let him keep playing in the. >> It was cool to see how happy Caleb was. for him, too. Like that just speaks to. like who he is in in the locker room and. everything like that's and it also. speaks to Caleb and how how special he. is to be that happy for a guy to come. in. It was it was cool. >> Zero takeaways first three weeks for the. Philadelphia Eagles defense. Vic Fangio, they're saying it's maybe Vic Fangi. over.
which they've been saying about him for. a long time obviously. What are your. what is your takeaway on the. Philadelphia Eagles defense and. Philadelphia Eagles as a whole who have. wins over the Commanders. Commanders. might be a good football team. They have. no idea Mark was able to get a win. They. have a win over the Titans which. >> they might be a very terrible football. team. True, >> but they are still an NFL football team. So getting a win over them at their home. still notable. Didn't look good against. the Bears obviously with a third string. quarterback. How do you feel about the. Eagles this year? And there's a stat. that I've been saying a lot because I. think it matters. Jaylen Herz has had 10.
different play callers in 11 years of. football. That feels like a lot. >> It's insane. That's insane. And like. that is even if you try hard to keep the. same terminology and even if you try. hard to keep the same concepts and and. adjust them in your own different way, just a different voice, a different. message, a different style. I I don't. think people understand truly how. difficult that really is. And no matter. how great of a player you are, how good. you are at processing information, that. is year after year, it'll wear you down.
Like all you want is one off seasonason. to be like, can I just do the same thing. again? Like, can I please just work on. one thing and try and get just better at. being a quarterback instead of having to. also learn a new encyclopedia? >> Well, also think about maybe that person. learning Jaylen Herz better, you know, like, hey, Jaylen really likes doing. this. I remember last year, which I. don't think they've been able to say one. time. I remember last year when we had. this situation and Jaylen liked it when.
we did this as opposed to doing this, let alone Jaylen learning what this. person likes in certain situations. This. person learning Jaylen as well, who I. think a lot of people have a lot of. opinions on. It's like that could be a. good deal. Is that their big problem or. what do you think about the Philadelphia. Eagles and the NFC East as a whole now? I guess. >> or he doesn't want to give a take on the. Eagles. You you don't know yet because. they win. >> No, I don't. No, I'm I mean I'm gonna be. honest with you. I got home from Brazil. on Monday morning and I was catching up. Like I I was I'm not going to lie to you. and act like I was deep in analysis on.
the game on Monday. >> Okay. All right. All right. All right. I. got you. I got you. >> I'm going off of topline information. here, brother. I didn't break it down. >> I saw that. I saw you zoomed out. Okay. Let's move to some stuff. >> I was trying hard. I was trying hard. I. know Erns played cuz I was very happy. for him. I saw Case Keenum play very. well. I saw Kaylin be happy for him. That's that's about the extent of what I. after a 10-hour flight. checked it all. I apologize. I should have let you just. kind of live in your own life right. there and uh moved along. But the Eagles. are. >> I can make something up if you want. I. like the uniforms they wearing.
Fantastic. >> Good work. Okay. You are a uniform guy. I I think the Soldier Field looked and. sounded electrifying. That's my first. time in there for. >> I saw Jaylen get mad uh after the pick. He got taken out for to get evaluated. and then he got really mad about a pick. >> Yeah. Well, I mean guy's standing out of. bounds when he hits him. Okay. So. obviously huge shot. He gets up now. He. is down for a little bit on his face. there. So I guess the UN has to wonder. much like in the Jackson Dart preseason. game situation. He stayed down for a.
little bit there. Is that because he had. no expectation of that hit coming and he. was like wow I did not expect that to. happen to me. Is he taking a breath or. was he knocked unconscious? Unk. He goes. back into huddle. He's standing in. huddle. Ref comes and grabs him. Sean. Hockey and says, "Hey bud, yep, you got. to go get checked out." That they. started that drive on the three yd line. I I mean that was like a 90 yard drive. that they had had at that point. You get. taken out especially in a game where. you're already Don to the Chicago Bears. and he didn't he went back into the. huddle and they had to pull him out.
there to walk him to the blue tent. So I. don't think he was thrilled to get. pulled out and then obviously you see. Andy Dalton throw a pick to uh rookie. Dylan Theamman out of Oregon and then. Jaylen Yeah, Jaylen got pretty worked. up, pretty upset. He was poking his head. out there too watching the jumbotron as. they were trying to figure out before. the pick even happened. They ran the. ball. Ran the ball. Ran the ball. Okay, third and goal from the two. Let's go. ahead and let the Red Rocket kind of. spin this thing immediately. Worst case. scenario happens. Interception. Jaylen. Herz's very pissed off that he was even. sent there. Still in there. Now in.
there. And they have the ball after a 95. yard drive. I think it was a 95 yard. drive from their own three that got all. the way up there for Natada. That's. tough as a They should have had a red. rocket tush push that thing. >> Yeah. >> You know, they they should have just. went with that. But obviously Monday. morning quarterback's easier or Tuesday. morning quarterback in this particular. case, especially if you're coming from. Brazil. Let's talk about something that. you do know. You got Chiefs Raiders this. weekend. Debut has a question for you. >> Yeah, I know Kurt Cousins getting all. the headlines. He's playing very, very. well through three, but that Raiders. defense, what's your thought on that.
defense? Nine takeaways. The Kobe Dean. has been a monster with his force. fumbles. What's What are you seeing on. tape so far? >> Yeah, I mean I I think that you kind of. look at that and you think about the. Chicago Bears last year and what they. were able to do with all the takeaways. that they had. nine and three games so. far is incredible and you have to, you. know, try and figure out the. sustainability level of that. It is very. clearly something that they harp on and. work on extremely hard. Nico Dean's been. fa fantastic at it um with the picks and. everything that they have on the back.
end as well. It's just can they continue. to sustain that? But everything that. they have going for him at the moment. with Kurt Cousins in the Clint Kubak. offense and how they're managing that. I. mean, Kirk's got three touchdowns each. game for the last three games. Like, it. is it's kind of like what we were. talking about with Case in the Ben. Johnson offense. Like, Clint Kubak's. offense is designed very specifically. for a guy like Kirk Cousins who can come. in, read the progression, hit his back. foot, and deliver on time. And it has. been working extremely well. Very, very.
excited to have a 3-0 versus 3-0 matchup. between the Chiefs and the Raiders. I. believe, if I'm not mistaken, first time. they've ever met undefeated besides week. one, obviously when everybody's 000. >> Mhm. Well, huge news that the AFC West. is seemingly all the way back. I like. that Fernando is just watching this. >> Yeah. >> I like that Fernando is just. experiencing this. Um, I like that he. saw Kirk Cousins fight Max Crosby in. training camp. It feels like he's. getting an incredible education on what. it's going to be like to be an NFL. quarterback, especially in Kubak system.
where the quarterback's going to have to. make a lot of decisions, make a lot of. plays. They have their best roster. We. thought they had their best off. seasonason and signings and somehow the. Ravens who we think are very good. >> This guy right here, this guy right. here, Mike Washington Jr. is making a. push here to get more and more reps. Like he is playing extremely well. Uh. Bowers obviously back and just decides. to go completely off like he normally. does, but no easing back into it for. Bowers. It's they're impressive. And. then oh yeah, they still have Max Crosby. took, you know, took a detour in the. offseason, but still have him and he's.
still doing it at an insane level. So, they are a a good football team. This is. going to be an awesome test and we're. excited to have them on Sunday and kind. of introduce them to America a little. bit. >> Now, on the flip side, this might you. can introduce a new Chiefs team, too. Go. ahead, AQ. >> Yeah. Do you think the Chiefs run game. is here to stay? Do you think they stay. with that type of offense or as Mahomes. gets more and more comfortable with his. knee as the months go on, do you think. it goes back to passing the ball down. the field like they used to? >> I don't I think it stays. I think it.
stays. is I think when you have a. running back like Kenneth Walker and. you're able to use him how they are and. you look at their play action numbers. last year versus this year and what it's. opened up in the play action game and. what they're able to do as Pack gets. healthier, he's only going to continue. to be even more of a weapon on top of. it. I don't think it replaces it because. when they are able to do every single. aspect of the game at the highest level. like they are right now with a run game, play action, and pass, it's it's nearly. impossible to stop. And that's what's so.
dangerous. And I think Eric Benemy is a. massive piece of that. I think that him. coming back and being able to instill. this and obviously having a weapon like. Kenneth Walker, I mean, when's the last. time they had like a true legitimate. strong running threat? They had PCO had. a very good time there. They've had. Kareem Hunt back way back, but this is. as dominant of a run game as they've. had. And you add that to Patrick. Mahomes, it's it's dangerous. >> Yeah. And Tyreek Hill is tweeting. He. wants to get back to cold weather. Uhoh.
>> What does that mean? Huh? What's that. mean? Jage Tyreek Hill training sand. looking fast. >> That would I mean, can he look anything. but fast? >> Well, that's what the cheetah was. worried about, I think. And Drew. Rosenhouse was on uh talking about one. of the college NFL guys. I forget the. exact which fell it was. >> Daquin Wright. >> Daquin Wright. He was on chat about LSU. >> Yeah, he did. he was thinking of going. to LSU um who certainly put him in a. situation. The Drew Rosenhouse convo.
about Tyreek Hill was let's not worry. about when you get back. Let's worry. about how you get back or something like. that. He he their entire narrative is. like let's make sure when you're back. you're Tyreek Hill. Let's not worry. about getting back sooner than anybody. is expecting you to get back if you need. to take more time. >> Is it cold in Kansas City already? >> I don't know. I just I heard a song. about Cleveland. I think it, you know. Yeah. Maybe he's talking about going. >> Did hear that. >> Chicago. >> Hey, shout out to Cleveland, by the way. >> Yeah.
>> Huh? >> Boy, >> I got a. >> What a come up. >> Well, Cleveland Rocks. >> Cleveland. >> You remember that? Drew Carey. >> Yeah, sure do. >> Okay. What's the name of his uh. secretary? >> Oh, I didn't watch the show. I know the. song. >> Jeez. >> Mim me. >> Okay. >> That's. >> I was a King of Queens guy, brother. I. was a King of Queens guy. big. >> the whole lineup after school was dope. >> So. >> JJ's got a lot of Hefernon in him. >> Is that King of. >> All right. Now that's a that's as big of.
a compliment as you can give me, brother. >> Is that uh. >> Kevin James? >> Okay, I know him from Hitch. He's. unbelievable. Unbelievable. >> He also played Sean Payton. >> which was incredible. >> in the documentary. Parker Spooner, one. of the best characters of all time. I'm. not going to keep going King of Queens. if you if you don't know it, but I mean. I'm I'm all in. Uh, so King of Queens. was what year of our lives? When was. that? I I don't think I think I miss. King of Queens. >> High schoolish. >> So, not Home Improvement or Save by the. Bell. >> Uh, after Home Improvement, I think it's.
probably more Everybody loves Raymond. time. >> I would say like 96 to like 2004 in that. range. >> When When did everybody. >> some Seinfeld crossover, but I think. more after Seinfeld. It was after. Seinfeld. >> Seinfeld still doing it. I think what a. run they had. Geez Louise. Curb your. enthusiasm. Has that had enough? >> Still bringing it. >> Still going, Larry. Congrats to him. He. was very anti- punter kicker there for a. little bit, but boy, he is hilarious. >> Got a new show as well. >> Sorry. It's hard not to laugh. TV used. to be incredible. Still is though,
right? >> Yeah. The McConn Woody Harelson show on. Apple TV is awesome. Brothers, it's. >> just different now cuz you used to look. forward to those. >> and everyone would watch it on like. Wednesday night or Tuesday night and. then you'd all talk about it the next. day and now it's just like, you know, you wa you watch it as you come and go. Everyone's at a different spot in it. So, >> sports are kind of the only thing that. really give you that anymore. Yes. You. know, sports are the only thing that. give you the immediate following day. But you're into some show that uh the. all the. >> lioness. >> No, the game of thrones dragons.
>> I watch all those. Game of Thrones, House of Dragons, all of them. >> What's the newest one though? There's a. new one that you guys. >> I'm on the gentleman right now. I'm on. the gentleman. I don't know if anybody's. on the gentleman. Good show. >> What's it all about? >> All right. >> It's on Netflix. It's off on Netflix. Yeah. based off a movie with McConn. actually. >> What's the newest Game of Thrones. episode? >> Seven Kingdoms. >> Yeah, you guys have been watching. I. think that one has like a drop day, right? And then you guys all do the. response afterwards. >> Yeah, that one has a really good one in. It's uh only six episodes per season and. they're also doing it every year. Like.
House of the Dragon is the other one. that came out over the summer, but. that's like years in between seasons. whereas the that Game of Thrones one, Night of the Seven Kingdoms is actually. one per year, which is kind of a game. changer. That doesn't happen as often. It's hard for me to be able to keep up. with all these. I watch uh. >> football and wrestling basically growing. up, you know, but I I would drop into. home improvement. >> Yeah. How could you not? >> Say by the bell. Rest in peace. Principal building. Obviously love what. he did for Bayside. He was at my silence. for president or principal building.
>> Should have been president building. >> He would have been a good president. >> Would have been. >> He used to show up at the indie. wrestling events and they'd offer to pay. him. He said, "Don't give me. >> I hope the tiger, the Bayside Tiger, attends the funeral.". Yeah, AC Slater better be there, too. He. represented the Tigers in a good way. Zack Morris, I hope he goes as well. He. became a lawyer later in life, I do. believe. >> He did. Yeah. Frank, >> what was the rival school? That blue. school? The The blue school where they. stole their bulldog. >> Poor man. >> Oh, man. If anybody gets this, that's a.
good Somebody at home is saying it right. now. >> Pull it. Pull it me. Come on. I spent a. lot. >> school homecoming week. They stole the. bulldog. >> I spent so much time in Bayside High. I. don't know how I don't know this. >> Oh man, this is. >> Valley. Valley Valley High School. >> Valley. >> Valley High School. Valley High School. There it is. Yeah. Yeah. Valley High. School. Rest in peace, Princ. >> Yep. Exactly. Certainly was from. somebody that had never watched Save by. the Bell either. Mitt just came in. Roll.
>> and as soon as he said it, it was like, yeah, that is uh certainly it. Okay, let's move off the Chiefs Raiders game. that you have this weekend. Let's move. past Save by the Bell. I don't know how. we're going to do that. >> No, never. I know. >> I don't know how we're going to do that. Such a good run. Key details about the. Valley High School. Um, Valley High. serves as primary and wealthier arch. rival to Bayside High. Frequently. competing in sports, academic. decathlons, and prank wars such as the. classic season one episode of Save That. Tiger. >> Yeah, Bango.
>> There you go, JJ. One of the classics. for Valley. I don't know if. I don't know if Valley is really. mourning Principal Belding's passing now. that I think. Probably not. >> And I don't like that. >> Probably doing actually probably doing. some hy jinks because he's not in. charge. >> Oh, they better watch that taga. >> Yeah, >> seriously. Valley High School's up to no. good. And I know that they don't care. about Principal Belding's passing and. that disgusts me. >> I agree. >> I don't know why. Hi Jinx just just sent. me man. Hi Jinx. What?
>> It's a good word. It's a great word. Uh, speaking of hy jinks, >> what happened to the Houston Texans? Ty. has a question for you. >> I know Jage, I hate that we've had to do. this every single week that you've been. on here, but where is the panic meter in. Houston right now? I think coming into. the season, we all assume their defense. was going to be phenomenal, and it. hasn't been terrible, but it hasn't been. what we've expected. CJ Stout has. actually played pretty decent, but. they're 0 and3 already. I know they're. the only team that's gone 0 and3 and. came back and made the playoffs, but it.
looks like it's getting pretty late. early for them. Um, where are we at and. do you see them turning things around. this week against the Cowboys? >> Yeah, I mean uh obviously not where you. want to be by any stretch of the. imagination. Um the the familiarity with. being 0 and3 and making the playoffs is. a benefit. It's not something you want. to have to your name, but uh they. clearly know how to do it and they're. just going to have to fight their way. out of it one game at a time. And I. think this weekend with the Dallas.
Cowboys coming to town and it's a big. celebration of the 25 years of the. organization. Um first ever game was. against the Cowboys. So, there's. certainly going to be an atmosphere you. would imagine and hope on on Sunday for. the Texans. And it's now just about. climbing out one game at a time and. trying to get back to 500 and then. building from there, which is what they. did the last time they did this. Um, but. it's I mean, Will Anderson Jr., four. sacks, two strip sacks in this game. The. guy's playing lights out. Unbelievable.
uh isn't getting quite the shine in in. national love that he deserves at the. moment because of the way the team is. performing, but he's been playing. unbelievably well. >> Yeah, we saw him this weekend. We saw. him this weekend down there at the Colts. game. What a win. >> How's the atmosphere up there? >> Well, people said that watching on TV. was terrible because they couldn't. really see anything, especially with our. Anvil Strike uh uniforms because the. shadows. But I will say being in there, it was great to see us win a game. It. was fantastic to win one. Spencer. Schrader, a kid who makes that 53 yard,
55 yard, whatever it was. I forget. There were so many big kicks this. weekend because kickers are so damn good. at this stage of football, which is fun. to watch. He like tweaked his groin in. warm-ups. They were very, they didn't. know how he was going to go about doing. it. I think he goes three for three, ends up hitting a 50 plus yard to win. that thing. I mean, he was a huge piece. of it. Defense, knuck if you buck played. for the first time after DeForest. Buckner made a play and I was just like, this has been sitting here the whole. time. I think that's the first time that. I've heard that. literally as soon as. DeForest Buckner makes a play. I think. they changed who's doing the music in.
the Lucas Soul Stadium. >> Okay. >> How has that not been a staple for his. entire career? >> I I genuinely don't know. And maybe they. have played it in the past, but it. hasn't happened every single time he's. made a play. I'm talking as soon as he. did something, somebody had to play. button on your butt. It was. >> I mean, incredible. >> What a song. >> Yeah. It's just like turn down for what? For you. I mean, it was like immediate. >> Come on. >> It's a layup. >> Yeah. >> I thought that as it was happening. I'm. like, "Genius, whoever's doing this and. how have we not been doing this. forever?" It felt like there was a new. person on the trigger playing the.
playing the songs in this stuff. Was it. a better atmosphere? >> Yeah, >> for sure. >> Was it because we won? >> Probably. >> How the uniforms look in person? How'd. they look? >> Unbelievable. So good. So, so good. Just. the best I've ever seen. You know, they're undefeated, too. So, that's. great. Yeah, >> I I'm happy they weren't like Anvil. Knights and then it was a 1:00 game, you. know, cuz that was a little embarrassing. when we had the Indiana Knights jerseys. and then we actually didn't have a. single night game that entire season.
So, it was forced to be play or be worn. at 1:00. That was kind of a tough little. thing. But the end, >> you got to figure out the shadows. I. mean, just that. >> Okay, WHY DON'T YOU GO TALK TO THE SUN? WHAT WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED to figure out. shadows, pal? What What do you mean? >> They had everything, right? They had. window and roof open. Yeah, I looked. great. >> It felt great. >> It did. >> 68 degrees. Nice. >> Little bit of a stiff breeze, which I'm. thankful I don't have to do what I had. to do in a previous life in there, you. know, because that place does get a bit.
Last question for you about the ball. Comes from the New England area. Go. ahead, Con. >> Yeah, Jay, you've called the Patriots. game, so you've talked to some of the. guys in there, but obviously a big. conversation is Drake May's kind of. regression through these first three. weeks. What do you think's going on? Do. you think it's solvable? Is it more of a. McDaniel's offensive scheme type thing? Is more May decision-m being bad in his. accuracy? What is kind of your entire. take on that? >> I've seen a lot of discourse about it. Obviously, we had their game two weeks. ago and and I mean I I truthfully don't.
have the the best answer for it, but I. do know that as you're studying the game. and you're looking at some of the things. and the tendencies there there's. certainly some things there that can be. prayed upon uh if you're dialing things. up in certain situations. And now. they're not the least obvious things of. all time. Like it's I mean they're. second and eight plus second and seven. plus passing rate compared to the rest. of the league is just extremely high. So. you know certain times you can tee off.
or if they do this after a a stuffed run. or an incomplete on first down then um. there's just some of them that stick out. even more than other situations. And. maybe that's part of it. Maybe it is a. regression. maybe it is um just not. seeing the field as well and not having. AJ Brown, there's all sorts of things. that can play into it, but it it's very. clearly a problem. I mean, even the game. that we had where they beat the. Steelers, uh their defense was the star. of the show that day. It wasn't the. offense. Uh Trayvon Henderson had the. long run, which was great, but it it.
wasn't the passing game that was the. star of the show. So, clearly there is. an issue. I'm not I'm not exactly sure. exactly what it is. Mike Frabel said, you know, whenever you're trying to do. good at golf, you're squeezing the hell. out of that driver and he's you just. need to loosen up a little bit. They say. he's trying to do too much potentially. in between the ears and physically. pressing, I believe, is how other people. would describe it. Is that what Patriots. fans think? Sh think are happening or. no? >> Patriots fans have no idea. They're. freaking out.
>> And the Red Sox lose to the Yankees in a. bad way last night. >> Yeah. If it wasn't for JJ Purka, we'd be. screwed right now. >> JJ Purka had a huge night for the. Bruins, I do believe. I mean, I know. everybody likes to like nobody wants to. hear it either, but like their their. schedule is harder. Like that's just the. truth. Like the the playoff run was kind. of where there were some issues and this. year the schedule is more difficult. So. you're playing tougher teams. They have. another year of film on you. They. they're able to study you a little. better, scheme it up a little better. Like I don't know if you should should. have expected it to be another MVP.
caliber year based off of who he was. playing against last year versus this. year. >> Bruins beat the Rangers three NOTHING. LAST NIGHT. >> HELL YEAH. Congratulations people in. Boston. Something good's happening. You're the best, Jage. We'll see you. this weekend. Chiefs Raiders on the. call. Welcome back to America. JJ Watt, >> we'll be back on the other side. We got. a lot to talk about. Oh yeah, and Wayne. Gretzky is joining us. >> Wayne and GRANDPA ROSSI. >> AND situational report in the trenches. ranking and so much more. Be a friend, tell a friend something nice. You might.
change your life. We'll see you on the. other side. This has become something that's. spectacular. It started as proof that. kicking is not easy. This is a real. pressure moment every single week that I. have been waiting for all off season. And our first contestant is a man named. >> Bruce Mel. >> Big Bruce. >> Big Bruce. >> Big Bruce. >> Home Depot has said they will match. anything that I put on for you for the.
rest of the season. >> All year. >> Yeah. Usually Usually companies don't do. like blank checks. Home Depot said, "We. will match anything you say." So, on. that note, wow, 500,000 from me, 500,000. from Home Depot. $1 million. to start the season. Bruce, >> shout out Home Depot. >> Shout out Bruce. Now, Bruce. Bruce, look. around at your people here. Bruce. Bruce, they would all LOVE TO SEE YOU. TAKE HOME one million dollars this.
morning. Hey, just uh just so we can up. the energy so it feels like Death Valley. a little bit, can we get a uh. >> I thought we said we weren't going to. say that on TV there. >> 1 MILLION. Hold on, Bruce. Hold on.
>> We got to It's week one. >> Yeah, >> it's week one. >> Home Depot. >> It's week one. You got. >> All right, Bruce. >> We can't set precedent that like if you. stink it goes up. So, it's not going to. go up. But what I will say is $250,000. from me, $250,000 from Home Depot. This. is your last effort. $500,000.
Bruce, >> how do you make it go end over end? >> I don't think now's the time to learn. that. I don't know if explode. Explode. through it. Explode through it. >> Hold on, Bruce. Hold on, Bruce. >> Let's take a thought, Bruce. Let's take. a minute. Stanford Steve, do you think. this guy has a chance to make this or. no? Steve, >> I do. >> You find people that have been waiting. through a lightning storm. Do you think. Bruce is gonna be able to make this or. no?
>> They have more faith than I do. 1. MILLION BUCKS BACK ON THE LINE. BRUCE, 500,000 from me. 500,000 from Home. Depot. Good effort, Bruce. Coast is clear for. the first week. Home Depot. I APPRECIATE. YOU SO MUCH STEPPING ON BOARD, BRUCE. Great effort, brother. I appreciate you. signing up to do that. REESE, NO MONEY. to anybody. >> There you go. Good job.
>> The following program is a collection of. students talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic, informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss, or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans in the real. world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further.
>> Hey, let's go. >> This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. on the line with a gorgeous assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers, you. stop. Damn it. >> Your friend, tell a friend something. nice could change their life. >> Hello, beautiful people and welcome back.
to our humble boat, the DraftKings. Thunderdome. on this goat Wednesday. Hour two of the. program begins now. >> FOOTBALL IS THE GREATEST WHIP. Wayne. Gretzky in about 30 minutes. Grandpa. Rossi, two-time World Series champion, will be joining us in about 10 minutes. to chitchat about everything happening. around the MLB wild card that have. started yesterday, continues today into. tomorrow if need be, I guess, as the MLB. playoffs propel themselves into the.
stratosphere, maybe into the moon. yesterday. Big storylines, big stars, big dongs, big baseball. >> Yeah, kind of everything you could ask. for. >> Yeah, I loved it. That's tough table at. Boston Conor and that Tai Schmidt con. man's Red Sox had a pretty good start to. it. And then around like the fourth or. fifth inning, it all just kind of. unfolded as they get their ace off the. mind who's I think an old school guy. If. if they would have told him to throw 200. pitches last night, I think he would. have done that. You guys maybe outthink. yourself. Nonetheless, it is nice to be.
in a position of baseball where I I. understand those strategies. >> Sure. >> I understand what's going on. Like I. think yesterday, uh there was a couple. dongs like the seventh inning, sixth. inning, you know, things were happening. It's like, oh, that's cuz the bad. pitchers are in, >> not the bad pitchers, but you know, not. >> not the. >> super good pitchers. So, like as the. game rolls on, you know, these batters. are seeing it a little bit, kind of. getting a feel for it. And then there's. like a prime position before closer. comes in where there is relief pitchers. in there. And that is where that's why.
those at bats, there's like two of them. in there or the most important at bats. for the entirety of the good hitting. people. It's like me learning baseball. in real time here has made these games a. lot better cuz whenever I was getting. bored at the beginning of some of these, >> sure, >> literally I know this is the pitcher. time. Like, hey, right, >> beginning of these games is the pitcher. time. we are supposed to be bored. because that means the pitcher who has. been chosen to start this entire thing. is cooking. Then once that pitcher is. taken out now we're looking into like. the hitters portion of the game and then.
whenever we close this thing out that's. good on good again there. So I have. learned the flow of baseball last more. now and I think that's why I enjoyed. yesterday so damn much I would say Ty. >> Yeah. No I mean that's that's very. accurate when you have these really good. pitchers. A lot of times in these early. innings, it is really just, hey, let's. try to scratch one across here any way. we can. We really want to work counts to. get the pitch count up. >> to get him out. >> Exactly. And then you do, like you said, when that guy comes out, it's like, hey, this is the this is our advantage zone. here before. And some teams have really. good bull bullpen. So, it's kind of the.
opposite. You know, they might do like a. spot starter where a guy from the. bullpen, you know, he's only going to. throw three innings. So, you need to get. them early before they get their their. real big horses in. But typically, yeah, you have some of these games, it's like. you have one to two innings to score. your runs, and if you don't, then it's. kind of it's a crapshoot late in the. game. And it's kind of like, you know, Dro said yesterday, like you're just. hoping one of your guys runs runs into. one, hits a homer, and that's how you. win. >> Yeah. It was fun to like have that, you. know, like understanding the sport. >> Yeah, exactly. Understand what both.
teams are trying to do here when Yeah. >> Yeah. So, now let's hope that the sport. doesn't stop. Okay. I will watch. >> Don't Don't think about that because. guess what? We're just going to enjoy. through October this year and then in. all likelihood we're not going to have a. season. >> No, no, no. So, I've been watching. Savannah Bananas as well. So, >> that doesn't count. >> I got their rules. I think I got their. rules. Gimmick out is two outs. You. know, you can only score one run per. inning, no matter how many runs you win. by that inning. And then also, we're in. the middle of banana playoffs right now. I don't know if you know that. We're in.
the middle of banana playoffs. I didn't. know that because the real baseball. playoffs are going on right now and I. watched that instead like you know cuz. in like the MLB like Ben Rice and Cam. Schlitler last night they metaphorically. pulled their penises out and put them on. the Red Sox. >> That is not what the once again that is. not too because I think you get extra. runs for that in the banana ball play. >> That is not what the banana ball is. about. Banana ball is about showcasing. baseball in a fun way. On that note, we. need to see you pitching against these. bananas. >> against the bananas. See, but that that. I think that gets misconstrued as well. Like I've said from the get-go like you.
have to be a good baseball player to be. a Savannah Banana. I've never said like. >> No, I agree. But it would be so fun for. Jesse the yellow tux. >> Yellow tucks. Yeah. >> For him to run your clips on the. jumbotron before these Savannah bananas. walk into the batters box. >> Just get booed like crazy. >> You're just stand up there. >> I would assume. I don't know. Unless. you're intentionally hitting them. I I. one of these guys. >> No. Yeah. I I would go in there trying. to strike these guys out. I mean I'm not. running away from anything. I'm not. going to [ __ ] you know, hit the, you. know, like, and guess what? These guys.
play baseball every single day and. they're all like 10 years younger than. me. I'd hope they'd be able to, you. know, make some good contact against me. and rough me up a little bit. >> Now, there's a chance that these guys. right here go yard and yard and yard and. yard and yard and yard and yard on yard. on you. >> Yeah, definitely. >> But there is a chance that you go, >> you start cooking out there. What if you. drop a couple, you know, little noon to. sixes and bang, they got nothing to do. with it. Maybe Tai is the next great.
banana ball pitcher. >> I won't be because you know what you'll. never see me doing is this Mickey Mouse. [ __ ] I'm not signing up for that. I. don't want to do that. I get it. I know. the kids love it and I don't have any. boys so maybe that is is a difference, you know, maybe. But again, I've never. been, so this is really all, you know, I. shouldn't maybe judge before I've. actually been to a game. But as of right. now, um, again, you know, we got the MLB. playoffs. I got I'm I got all eyes. >> I just want to let you know, I've been. to a game. >> I know you said it was awesome. >> Awesome. Incredible time. Fill up the.
stad. They're filled up college football. stadium. >> Hey, guess what? My girls would love it. I know they would. >> And they will. And uh followup, you're. going to have to learn to cuz there's no. baseball coming after this playoff. So, let's enjoy all of this that we have. right now. Uh 9-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler is here. Yesterday, your Florida. Panthers get a huge win over the Caniacs. to start their 84game campaign into the. playoffs for the Stanley Cup. NHL's all. the way back. MLB's happening. Football. obviously cooking. Feels like a.
fantastic time for sports fans across. the. >> Great time for sports. Obviously, hockey. being back like you said, watching that. banner night, watching him come out with. Lorie Stanley. You kind of knew it was a. for conclusion that the Panthers going. to come out to win. New goalie in net. for us. Pitched an absolute shut out. stood on his head. So, love that for the. start. Bark's back. our captain, uh, the. Tachuck brothers. I mean, what more. could you ask for? Starting off with a. hot one. Uh, I love that. And like you. said, MLB playoffs. What's that? >> This guy knows Puck. >> Yes, I mean, are you guys Why you acting. shy? >> I'm not. I'm just saying. >> You were talking puck before.
>> I know. I'm saying people act like or. want to act like you don't know Puck. This guy knows Puck. >> Okay. Thank you. I appreciate that. Also. know baseball, too. So, Sanchez from. Chris Sanchez. We Hey, he got he's on. the bump. Game two. Who talked about it. yesterday? Dro Dro, our skip. He talked. about him been on the bump. So yeah, didn't love them uh starting like that, losing by three. But uh yeah, it's a hot. time for sports. >> Yeah, sports are phenomenal. Tomorrow. night, AFC North, Cleveland Browns host. the Pittsburgh. >> Oh [ __ ] wait. Last night, WNBA playoffs.
fever. >> Oh yeah, >> Caitlyn Clark went off. Kelsey Mitchell. went off. We're obviously uh maybe. slight underdogs against the defending. champ aces. Asia Wilson, she you had a. little run in with with a fan, you know, hostile environment, playoff. environment. Caitlyn hit shot point and. talking [ __ ] to Candace Parker. I love. it right now. >> I was trying to figure out how we go. about talking about everything that. happened in a city in which uh Connor. lives. Uh Dumpy lives. >> I've called home for a long long time.
here outside of it. Uh with the fever in. the aces, I've decided. everybody knows what happened. Okay. All. right, >> we don't need us to dive into this. >> Kudos. >> I don't like the immediate Indiana. people are saying the worst thing you. can imagine right now immediately from. commentators basically. Like. >> we've seen this before in Indiana. Okay. Now, Indiana also a place that sells out. an arena for every WNBA game. So maybe.
not the worst place on earth. Uh maybe. there has been situations in the past. that have taken place in a lot of. different arenas around, you know, the. country and stadiums and certainly maybe. here in Indianapolis with the mega star. Caitlyn Clark coming here and selling. out uh every arena that she goes into. all the time. But I think I think what. gets forgotten in this whole thing, maybe even by some of the people that. cover the WNBA that are at the game and. attacking some of the fans there, this. this is a very committed fan base to the. WNBA. like Fever fans are there. They.
show up. They have rallies. They have uh. outside watch parties. They rent out. restaurants. They They have been an. economic boost for our city, for our. area in a massive way. I mean, an. absolutely massive way. I'm a former. season ticket holder just a couple years. ago. Wasn't able to make it to enough. game. Connor was a season ticket holder. Actually sat Mitt is a current season. ticket holder for the uh Fever. Con man. actually sat directly next to the guy.
who said that foul is on you. Terrible. man for saying this. That foul is on. you. Despicable reaction, I guess. >> Can't do that. Not in a not in a. basketball game. No way. Not if you've. paid. >> tens of thousands of hundreds of. thousands of dollars to be a season. ticket holder to support this team. I I. would just think it would be, you know, very kind of people that are covering it. to not just automatically assume because. you're in Indiana that the worst.
possible outcome has happened. Now, on. that note, I also respect Asia just. being an absolute beast. She's a dog. She's like goat status in this entire. thing. But like any other athlete goes. into crowd because of a point, they. would get. >> absolutely. >> suspended. suspended, but just like the. way people would talk about them and. what would happen would be. So, I like. that Asia was potentially going to fight. that guy. Okay, I like that trait. I. would like my daughter to have that type. of competitive juice, but like you can't. just like.
>> automatically assume this guy's the. worst person on earth because athlete. overreacts to a point in the fourth. quarter of a playoff game, elimination. game for a fever, uh, with one of their. biggest fans. This guy's been a season. ticket holder for years and years and. years. So, I I just I think the way it. was all kind of laid out was certainly. that Fever fans were the worst people on. earth just because they are the worst. people on earth. And instead, we had a. little dust up. There's a little dust up. down there last night. Okay, we move on. Game three. We would like Asia playing.
Okay, we don't Oh, she's 1,000% playing. >> You got to suspend her. >> You have to,000%. >> I'm looking at you, Engle Stone. You. have to suspend her. B. >> Well, sure. If if it I know she's. stepping down at the end of the season. >> Don't let your league go to [ __ ] You. can't have people just running into the. crowd. >> Go all willy-nilly. I mean, like you. said, is this is a playoff environment. This is a win or go home game.
You got to suspend her. I don't like it. because you're right. I I want to beat. the Aces at full strength. I want the. best player on the court, but what's. right is right. I'm sorry. >> Kaylin Clark broke some records last. night. >> She's obviously an absolute superstar. A. lot of conversations about her maybe not. being able to play in WNBA. She's not. that good. The way people talk about. her, she's not that good. Well, she's. been the needle mover. She's been the. merch mover. She's been the new deal. mover. And last night, she was moving.
buckets and assists at a rate that has. never been seen before in the WNBA. And. she's not the only one. Kelsey Mitchell, I think she just scored another 20 and. another 20 and another 20 and another. 20. Aaliyah Boston will give you those. buckets. And then Sophie Cunningham, she. will, you know, >> I'm surprised she didn't actually for. see the ticket hold down. Hey, excuse. me, I'm the one you're supposed to be. fighting here as she gets fouled and. then called for a foul in the same exact. play that led to this entire thing. So, Coach White in the Fever rolling right. now. And last night, I think it'll be a.
good rally for these Fever fans who. there are a bunch of. I I mean, that is. a huge fan base, a passionate fan base, and a lot of people travel from all over. Midwest to come here. So, we are. grateful that Fever in Indianapolis and. it would be cool if they just knocked. off the champs that cuz Minnesota is. supposed to be good this year, right? >> Oh, number one seed. >> Yeah. More history. Last night, first. number one seed knocked off by an eight. seed. >> Wow. >> Yeah. >> Wow. >> Yeah. I don't like what they're doing. Rookie of the year, Olivia Miles on the. internet. >> It's not nice. >> But, uh,
>> hey, welcome. I mean, it's not fair, but. this is just the internet these days. I. guess if anything happens, you're going. to get absolutely cooked. >> So, I don't like that. She had a hell of. a rookie season. >> Great rookie season. >> But, who was the eight seed? to beat the. number one seed. That has to be a bad. team. >> The Liberty, I believe. >> The New York Liberty were wow. into the playoffs. >> They were just kind of. >> Yeah, we knew the Liberty were going to. be Sabrina. Yeah, right. You think. >> Stewie? >> Yeah, right. >> Vanderloot. >> Now, if the Fever are knocking out the. Aces in round one, good luck.
>> Yeah, >> good luck. >> You might have to just give them the. trophy. Maybe in an empty arena though, so. nobody accidentally does this, you know, because we just like the game to be. played. Could you imagine just thinking. about doing this in the middle of a. basketball game to somebody who should. have been uh called a foul? What a You. know what? >> I don't like that guy. >> I mean, Bruce, what this guy has said to. TJ McCollum,
>> that's not his name. His name. is not his name. I'm thinking of Yeah, I. got it. But you're you're [ __ ]. that guy up and down the court. >> I'm thinking of the TJ TJ Ford, the. former Milwaukee Bucks and Texas. Longhorn. Great. Uh. >> pacer too. >> Yeah, he was a Pacer as well. But you. know that guy can do that and they. basically just give him a warning and. this nice gentleman points and we're. going to toss his ass out of the arena. and then bring him back in. Just come. on, get it right.
>> We had some boots on the ground in. there. Obviously, we have season ticket. holders in amongst us here. And I guess. whenever he was getting escorted out. there, it was a big pop for him. And. then as he came back in, I guess there. was a big pop for him as well. A lot of. people around him, you know, that are. probably going to find out what is said, what's not said. And I just think it was. uh a lot of emotions, but I don't like. the immediate. >> Indianapolis, you know what that is. It's like, what. do we know that's what that is? I I. don't We're just looking about who's. sitting. Is he? So, we just think this.
guy's walking around doing that in. public just all day every day cuz he. lives in Indianapolis, Indiana. It's. like that feels like a little bit of a a. stretch, but there has been situations. in the past in sports where things have. gone way too far. Happy it didn't end up. being physical. We move on. Fever. take on Asia Wilson and the Aces in game. three. Game three. >> tomorrow night. >> In Vegas. Yep. They. >> only get one day rest flying across the. country. >> Mhm.
Angel still needs to figure it out. >> It's not her name. >> This is ridiculous. >> 12 year NFL vet. >> That's not her name. It's Kathy. Angelberg. She's a friend of. >> She just negotiated like a how many. billion dollar deal for uh media rights? Seven or eight billion dollar media. rights deal for the WNBA. >> Pretty sure she was the one that got rid. of the McRib at McDonald's. >> She did come from uh some other form of. business. I don't know if she was the. head of McDonald's. >> What a great move. She did work. >> Absolute shite.
>> Yeah. >> What is that? >> No way. >> Did she I don't Did she come from. McDonald's? >> I'm almost positive she worked at. McDonald's. >> I thought it was like Valoid or. something or or. >> she definitely worked at Deote as well, but someone can fact check that. I'm. pretty sure she was maybe on the board. of McDonald's. >> I think she was the first woman ever on. the board or like president of Yeah, she. had a was very high up in McDonald's. >> Kathy Kathy is one of the most. accomplished business women in the. history. No doubt. There's been a couple. things that have happened in her league. that people are just like, "Get this.
woman away from everything.". >> She was a McDonald's board. Uh she was. on the board of directors. Uh. >> do it. >> She was the CEO of Deote, though. That's. what she did before. >> But board of directors, I think she. walked in there and called a board. meeting was like, "We got to we have to. get rid of the McRib. >> And you're pissed about it." Debut said, "Good point.". >> Thank god. >> I like I like the McRib, too. T. >> um. >> how many Mc Ribs that guys probably had. >> I'm starting to wonder what all AQ. didn't like though. You remember?
>> Yeah. Well, and now that I'm thinking. about it, I know that was like the one. non- yucky thing that you know Debbone. Debbone loves the McRib. He has. mentioned that before. >> I'll tell you if she was any part of the. dollar menu creation. >> I heard she got rid of. >> No, she did not. >> What are we doing? The McDouble should. be 329 before tax. >> Mcchick. Oh man, >> the best single cheeseburger. You get. two of those things. Stack those up. Get. a McChick, too. That's three bucks. You. got a burger, chicken burger with.
everything you need on top of it. Oh, I'd like some Big Mac sauce on there as. well. Go ahead and do a Big Mac. Buy. yourself extra lettuce on there. Used to. manipulate that dollar menu like no. other. >> I know. What happened to the restaurant? I love a large fry like five bucks now. >> It's crazy. >> What happened to your restaurant? You. think? >> Oh, I think I know. Anglestone said, "We can squeeze a. couple dollars out of every more. hardworking American ever.". >> Conor, why are you co-signing this? Kathy had nothing to do with this. >> I It just feels like information I.
wasn't presented with before and now all. of a sudden I'm thinking, wait, Englestone did that and tickets of the. Fever Games went up tfold. So, did. Englestone raise the tickets for the. Fever game, TOO? >> NO. MY mind is like. >> Well, maybe maybe because business is. good because Kathy was able to. accomplish that. And uh Ty, I don't I. don't love you calling for a suspension. of the best player in the league, you.
know, especially whenever we got two. Goliaths taking each other on to launch. the WNBA playoffs and the fever in the. Aces right now. >> You know what, rules are rules and if we. don't follow the rules, then we're. barnyard animals. So, I mean, you know, I don't like it either. Again, you think. I want to hear that all that stuff after. the Fever win while they did it when. they weren't playing Asia Wilson in a, you know, in a game go win or go home. game three. I don't want that. But also, I think we just need to we need to make.
sure this league kind of operates like. every other league would. >> I'm not going to read the fan code of. conduct and what the rules are on. players visiting. >> I'm guessing a suspension is warranted. That would be my guess. >> I think you can find anything you're. looking for out there. Uh joining us. live from an attic in Ohio is a man. who's a college football national. champion, Super Bowl champion, fever. super fan, father of 11, and also RDER. Cup winner, AJ Hawk. >> Pretty pretty dramatic night last night. in the WNBA playoffs right here in.
Indianapolis. Brother, >> it was super dramatic. I actually was. watching that live when when she went. into the crowd after Buddy. I was. wondering how it all would play out. Are. people are people calmed down now? Is. everyone all right? >> I think everybody's okay. Yeah, I I. think everybody's okay. Just getting. ready for a big game, three elimination. game where, you know, the Fever have a. chance to say, "Yeah, we're the new. Kings. Quit. Sorry. We are. >> I don't know. We are the top of the. WNBA. We are the top of the WNBA." They. have a chance to do that and uh I'm. excited to see them do. I don't want a.
suspension for Asia, even though it. sounds like some people who are diehard. Fever fans, which I guess I'll hear from. you whether or not you would want that, but I would like to see full strength. It's a playoff atmosphere. It's a little. dust up. The guy, blue collar guy who. worked worked his ass off to get to this. particular position. There's no way he's. calling for suspension either. Let's. just do let's just continue to do both. You know what I mean? AJ, that's how I. feel. >> Yeah, of course. >> You die hard Fever fan though. I don't. know how you feel. >> I am diehard Fever fan. But no, I think. we want to beat them at full strength. Obviously, I think it was mentioned.
earlier in the show like you want to. beat him at full strength. She didn't. make contact with the man. And if she. would have gone out there and poked him. in the eyeball or something or punched. him, then you could talk possibly. sitting her down for a game. >> Now, I think though we all realize like, hey, A's just taller than you, more. athletic than you, stronger than you, and she will, you know, like if you just. happen in public, cross her, she'll I. think she could probably drop anybody. >> He might be eating one. >> Yeah, I think she wanted to do that to. him. >> Ran through that curtain. >> He would have ate it, too.
>> What happened? >> Lady behind that curtain just walking. by. She ran through pop. Yeah, she bring it. But look, you know, these great athletes, you always got to. find some [ __ ] Michael Jordan, all this. waiter said this or these different. athletes, they find [ __ ] Russell. Westbrook, you see this a lot more in. basketball. And I think that's why. people were kind of, I guess, taken a. back cuz you I know I've never seen it. with with Asia Wilson with the, you. know, going into the crowd or some [ __ ]. like that. So, you just assume that. something crazy was said, but then she. came out even after and was like, now he. was pointing at me and walking towards. me. So, you don't. So, it was kind of.
like, okay, yeah, might might have been. an overreaction for sure, but uh I can't. wait for game three. I'll tell you that. much. >> I She didn't touch anybody. Okay. >> But she certainly proved that. Uh let's. let's make sure we know about it. >> Yeah, she is. And I respect the hell out. of that. >> On that note, we need a fever win. >> Basketball justice for the man who's. paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to. watch. >> She's a ticket holder for years. >> Watch the WNBA. Guy loves it down there. Hard worker. I mean, didn't make his. money like in a uh.
>> in an easy way. I mean, this guy out. there doing it and uh. >> he was in the middle of it all last. night. As the WNBA playoffs happening, the NHL drops puck on its season. >> That's right. Oh, >> yeah. >> And an MLB wild card. Joining us now is. a man who has conquered that multiple. times. Two-time World Series champ, former Skip, assistant Skip for Team. USA, ESPN pundit, analyst, living. legend, icon. Ladies and gentlemen, they. call him Grandpa Dave Raw. Yeah, >> how you doing, buddy? >> What up, boys?
>> Dude, yesterday good baseball. I uh I I. don't know if you heard me say it. earlier. I have learned baseball, you. know, through this process through. friends like you and also everybody at. Team USA for being so welcoming and MLB. uh folks being so welcoming. I I feel. like I learn baseball here a little bit. and understand what I'm looking at as. opposed to just a longass game that's. taking forever. there's different. portions of the game where we need to. take advantage of things or we need to. just understand what's happening in real. time. I think that type of patience is.
something that not a lot of sports have, but obviously baseball because of how. many times you fail, you have to have. that. Now, with that being said, as a. super baseball fan, was yesterday the. perfect way to kind of start this or. blowouts with the Yankee Socks and then. inevitably late night your Cubbies just. getting smacked by the Padres's? First. pitch gone. So all the way through, how. did you kind of judge yesterday's action. and uh how should we view it from. outside the baseball world? >> Well, the kind of playoff ball you want. is Philly's Braves, right? Like that was.
that's an epic playoff game to kick. everything off. So you're super pumped, excited. Austin Riley here 100 just oppo. Taco coming back late bottom of the. ninth big at bat and he had struggled. man. He he had he was awful during the. regular season and a guy that uh has had. some moments like this in the. postseason. So big home run for there. Don Magnley goes to his closer Don early. in the seventh. Super early for a closer. but they've been really short uh in. pitching and uh electric in Atlanta as.
you see there and they lock down a game. one win. But uh I thought the White Sox. game was all right. You know, a little. back and forth. It was impressive to see. the young white socks lineup team. Uh. they did a really nice job of going the. other way. I think eight of their 11. hits were up the middle otherwise. You. don't expect that from a young group in. their first playoff game. Really poised, good at bats. Um Will Venal had to. absolutely manage a bullpen. I think. they used uh like six or seven pitchers.
Uh one of their closers had had 54. pitches. His all-time high before that. was 30. So some of these guys really the. strategy went and then you know the. Yankee game was close. Um, I love what. Tulley did. Uh, the story for me was Cam. Schlitler. Absolutely dominant. Uh, broke out the breaking ball as you see. here. Just, uh, nasty stuff. He had an. all-time high in breaking balls as well. You know, you go into that game, if. you're the Red Sox, it's going to be. firm. It's four seam sinker cutter. Um, and he broke out the breaking ball and.
it was absolutely nasty. He was. dominant. Uh, some big hits. Ben Ben. Rice with a four for five day, two. homers. Kind of put it away here. I. didn't love the I didn't love this uh. Miller move. I thought Tulley was. pitching good enough to stay in. He was. only at 84 pitches. He comes in, gives. up the solo shot to Rice with two outs. They make that move and then things kind. of got out of hand after that. But um. you know, the Socks will have their. bullpen fresh. You got Sunny Gray going. today. Uh should be another battle. He's.
going to have a chip on his shoulder. from being in uh New York and not doing. well. And then yeah, Cubby's Cubby's. offense didn't show up. I think the. story is Michael King had a no-h hit bid. uh into the seventh. I mean, he was. absolutely filthy and then the stars. starred last night. The the Tatises, the. Machadoo. Tatis here. All three homers. on the change up from Boyd. I don't know. if they had something on him, but uh PCA. giving it his best, but the Cubs offense. didn't really show up, but uh San. Diego's been on a run late in the.
season, second half, and they've got. some really big-time players that. stepped up in in uh in game one. So San. Diego's a real threat right now, man. That that place has turned into a real. homefield advantage. Different than when. I played. They weren't as good. They've. got stars. The fans are backing them. They're hot. They've got one of the best. bullpens in the game. It is uh another. change up there from Machado. Just. leaned on that one. So, uh fun day with. a lot of lot of good storylines, I. guess. But, uh I love to see the close. ones, I think, like you guys. >> Yeah. And obviously Chris Sale, front of.
the program, playing or throwing the way. he threw was sweet to watch. Philly. Schwarbo had a sweet USA headband on. >> like that uh to kind of get it all. started. Let's go back to the Cubs. Padres's game and what you said there. about Boyd with the change up. So you. said they had something on him. They had. a tell on him like um. >> so he was tipping he was tipping it. somehow. >> I I don't I you know that's the one of. the things you when they're all on on. one pitch you kind of you know you don't. know. I I I didn't I didn't uh I wasn't. locked in on that. But when you look at.
the first one's rough like you start the. first pitch off of the game with a. change up. The change up's made to be. off the fast ball. So like you're just. throwing like a BP heater to start the. game really. It didn't have a lot of. movement on it. You don't have a feel. for it yet possibly. Maybe they knew. Tatis was going to swing and he was. trying to get something out of the zone. and just pulled it a little bit. But um. you know big home run and then Machado. right after that and then Xander Bogarts. who's had had a rough year takes him. deep too down the line on a change up. >> Okay. So can you tell me a little bit. about the uh operation of that maybe? So.
somebody will have it. somebody will. say, "Hey, I was watching." Feels like. whenever he's throwing change up, his. elbow goes out first before it goes up. Is it something like that? Is it how. they hold the ball? Is it uh like. obviously first pitch of the game, you're not expecting that, but what. could it be? And what have things been. in the past that you guys have noticed? >> Yeah, great question. I think like, you. know, there was one guy when I played. that I wasn't good at picking up tips, but uh we we faced a guy I took deep and. like when he worked fast, fast was slow.
So if he went really fast out of his. wind up, he was going to throw you a. breaking ball. But if he like went. really slow, he was going to try to. surprise you with the fast ball. So it. was like you could tell really early. But a lot of guys, if you look like a. lot of guys will flare their glove on. the change up or their the angle of the. change up or the elbow like you talked. about, you can pick it up from the from. the from the back of like the backside. looking in there here. Like if I was if. I was at second base and you could see. my wrist a certain way down would be.
different pitches if there's a guy on. second. There's a lot of different. things. >> Yeah. Yeah. Well, Marcus Strowman used. to we didn't find out till he had a. terrible game against um the Twins, but. he every time he threw a a slider before. he would throw the pitch, he'd be like. stick his tongue out. and we we didn't. know one of one of the guys that he knew. on the other team told him after they. beat the crap out of us and I had to. take him out in like the third inning. But um and he was pitching well at the. time. So they when you get a tell on.
somebody and I don't know like I hate. starting that stuff, but when you see it. all a home run on a change up, it's uh. it just like my my red flags go off as a. former player and manager, it's like, "Oh, I wonder if they had anything on. him." cuz when you when you're preparing. for the playoffs, you're you're you've. got guys in the front office and all. your guys uh underneath the coaches. digging on everything and and that's. something that they try to pick up. >> Man, think about the celebration. whenever they like actually execute on. that. Hey, we got something. This guy's. going to throw us a meatball whenever he. does this. We just have to take.
advantage of it when it happens and. boom, three home runs happen. I. appreciate that insight. Obviously, as. somebody that didn't play, I didn't know. that there was that intricate of details. that could potentially be tipping a. pitch, but it makes sense whenever you. guys are playing 162 games that were. looking for absolutely everything. Tai. has a couple follow-ups for you, Grandpa. >> Yeah, Rossy, just curious, uh, how do. you think like teams that are especially. down 01 in these series, like how will. they deploy their bullpens? Uh, like. tonight with the Socks, you know, I. mean, you mentioned I I agree, you know, I I can't believe they took out Payton.
to as early as they did. And I guess. when you get your ass kicked like that, you don't really have to use any of your. horses in the back end. But like. obviously they want Sunny Gray to go a. little bit deeper. But like for them and. the Yankees, like are you thinking that. we might see them go to the bullpen as. early as like the the fifth inning. tonight just because a like, you know, the Yankees are super fresh and Freed's. still kind of working back from his. injury. And then on the flip side, you. know, with the the Red Sox, they. obviously have the horses back there and. it's do or die. How do you think these. teams, and not just that game in.
particular, but how do you think these. teams are going to deploy their bullpens. tonight? >> Yeah, I think they're going to, yeah, go. all in. Especially like you talked about. the Red Sox. The teams that are down. can't wait around. And the bullpin games. are real. It's hard to size guys up. And. when you have a bullpen like the Red Sox. on the back end, you're going to see. Garrett Wicklock early. You're going to. see Aldis Chapman may be asked to get. multiple. It's like they're going to the. boys. Sunonny Gray's had a phenomenal. season, but he's not he's he's more of a. contact. not a big strikeout guy uh in. that ballpark. The thing that interests.
me about that matchup is uh the Yankees. are kind of doing this platoon advantage. thing, right, left. They've got a ton of. guys on the bench. Uh and and they're. able to to mix and match lefty, righty. So, you're going to see a completely. different infield. Ben Rice will still. DH. Um you're going to see maybe Jazz. Chisum at second base. You're going to. see McMahon at third base. You're going. to see um Gisham in center, probably. Jones again in right, belly in left. Um.
I I know um the catcher still catch like. they're they're going to they're going. to kind of have a completely different. lineup. So that that'll be interesting. to see Garcia first. Sorry. Um so you're. going to have to see how the game goes. with Sunny Gray, but you're not going to. wait around for a a you know any kind of. real deficit. Something happens early, you're going to go and deploy those. guys. All right, AJ has the last. question for you here. Rossy is um. obviously MLB wild card today. What. time? First game.
>> I think all the games are the exact same. time. >> Two o'clock. >> Two, five, eight, and 10. >> I like that. I like that. Great times. >> Yeah. I mean it yesterday was fantastic. Phenomenal. >> 5:00 hockey yesterday as well. >> Yeah. >> I mean it was and it was a banner. ceremony. It's like yesterday delivered. today will as well. Go ahead AJ. The. last question for Grandpa here. >> Yeah. Rossley, could you quickly explain. a little bit how the pitchcom situation. came about? Like when it came in the. league and how it changed, I guess, how. games are played? I know you as a. catcher, it had to affect what you were. doing. How is it different now than it.
was back in the day? >> Well, back in the day, we used to have. all these systems um of like signs like, you know, we're given the the stuff that. we remember, the signs and the catcher's. crotch. Um, I think like now MLB. realized just the sign stealing thing. was was real and people watching on. video with all the cameras that we have. in the game right now. They're watching. video from center field trying to decode. the signs. Um, back in the day like some. simple stuff would be like first sign.
after two. So if I did like 3 1 2 3 it. would be a slider be after the two, right? >> Hold on. Do that again. Let's catch that. thing then. Go ahead. You're going to do. Hold on. Hold on. So you're telling me. right now? All right. So I'm pitcher. You're telling me it's coming when? >> Okay. It So after I when I put a two. down, it's the next sign. So one's fast. ball, two's curveball, three slider, and. wiggle change. Let's just say. >> All right. So if I go one, three, two. Now it's the next sign, which would be a.
three. So you would throw a slider, >> right? Yep. >> And then a lot of times it was shake. If. you shake me off, if it would be it'd be. first sign. Let's say shake shake. I. would say shake last. So, if you shake. me off, I'd go through a dear series of. signs and it'd be the last sign I put. down. So, we'd go fast ball. >> All right, let's do one. Let's do one. here. Let's do one. I like this. Yeah, let's go. Let's go ahead and roll this. >> All right, so we're going to we're going. to go I I'll do my favorite one that I. did with with John Lester is first sign. after three or last. Okay. So, if I.
don't put down a three, it's the last. sign I give. >> Oh, I thought And what if I shake you. off? >> Shake you off. We'll go first sign. >> Okay. All right. Sweet. Okay. >> So, if I go two 2313, what is it? >> Fast ball. >> Nice. >> Yeah. >> If I go If I go 2 two one one three, what is it? >> Slider. >> You're locked in, baby. >> Come on. Come on. I like that. I I was.
going to just shake off if I didn't know. the answer. Anybody's like that one. I. should have just moved. But, uh, yeah, first one after three or last one being. three. Certainly a nice little mental. game. we just had for your pitcher. How. fast are you calling those? Very fast. We're rolling through those. >> Yeah, we're rolling through pretty. quick. There wasn't a pitch clock when I. was in there, but you're you're moving. pretty quickly. You're trying to keep a. rhythm. Um you you like first pitch of. the at bat, you're pretty simple. And. then if you see a guy paying attention, I'd get a little tricky. And sometimes. with like I would set them up to to. learn first sign after the three and.
then a big pitch like a 3-2 pitch with a. man on second. I would go last sign and. now they now the guy's relayed the wrong. wrong sign to the hitter and and you you. might get a might get a bad swing or a. frozen pizza type type thing. Look a. strike out looking. >> I like frozen pizza. >> I like a frozen pizza. >> Yeah, don't we all? I went to Sparrow. actually the other day. It just reminded. me I was I went to 2002 the other day. Yeah, >> I went to a mall uh and it was packed to. the gills. We had samples, Chinese food. samples in the We had Sparrow Pizza.
Still. It was 2002. Hot Topic packed. out. >> Aeraposta was in there. Abbercrombie. Hollister JC Penney. >> That's sick. >> Old Navy. We're locked in, >> dude. It was It was 2002. Everybody in. there w No phones out. It literally I. thought I was back in time. I I was mind. blown. Hat low, sunglasses. I was just. walking through there having a time of. my life. It was like the old days. It. really felt like I was back in my robo. mall just kind of walking around there. trying to figure out life. I wish I. would have played baseball more. I'm.
starting to learn more about it and I. really like it. Thank you for joining. us, brother. Thank you for being a. friend of the program. >> Always a pleasure, boys. Y'all good. luck. Take care. >> Hey, when do you tell them middle finger. fastball? you you're just saying, "Hey, this guy needs to eat one." Or we all we. all kind of understand that. >> when they hit your uh when they hit your. best best player in the head or they. they do something stupid, then you you. start flipping the bird to them really. quick and usually that's a conversation. that happens uh pretty fast. It doesn't. take a lot of doesn't take a lot of. communication to get that one across. >> I like that. Did you ever get like. kicked, you know, because like guy gets.
hit, knows it's you. >> right to there. Yeah. To the pitcher. That ever happened? There's uh well. there was a I mean I know I don't know. how time we got but like in spring. training uh GMO was a pitcher with the. Dodgers and I was a rookie and we go to. the Mets and they had some words in a. game in Vero Beach in spring training. him and Mike Piaza and Mike Piaza he hit. Mike Piaza when we went back there and I. was catching he came in late in the game. smoked Piaza Piaza charged him and it.
got hairy fast. I had to go try to catch. catch run down Mike Piaza and I grabbed. him and uh he I slipped off of him. trying to gra I just saw this big meat. hook just reach back about to smoke uh. my pitcher. I grabbed his meat hook and. went flying into center as the the pile. went towards the dugout and our guy was. running and it was chaos. >> Piaza gives you a hip toss. I love that. >> Just toss me all the way to second base. almost. >> Hey, baseball has a little fight in it. as well. We should show that respect.
Long season. We're in the middle of the. greatest part of it. You're the best, ladies and gentlemen. It's Grandpa. Rossy. >> Hey, Rossy. >> Yeah, cuz a kick to the catcher right. there. >> Oh, yeah. It's happened, too. >> There's a classic clip of that I think. from the miners somewhere, wasn't it? >> Oh, yeah. It's like he sweet chin music. like right to the catcher's chest. >> I mean, yeah, because you're sitting. there. Did the pitcher decide to do this. or is this this person? I think my. natural reaction would be is because of. you. I think that would be my natural. reaction. I I assume cleats the head. there. That's probably pretty punishable.
offense. >> Yeah, >> the head. Yeah, >> I would assume you can't do that in this. entire uh world of baseball. There's. rules, you know. I think you guys said. that banging on trash cans with video, not good. >> Yeah, not great. >> But if you do pick up something, you. kind of do what you got to do. There's a. lot of little intricacies of baseball. Go ahead. I mean, we just saw it happen. in college football with Dante Moore. where his leg was just a little further. back on all of his runs and then when it. wasn't as far back, you knew he was. passing. It's like those things you pick.
up through film and that's one thing, but if they had a guy just like Connor. Stallions picking up, you know, calls. from the other sideline, that's when it. goes too far. >> Yeah. Conor Stallion certainly getting. the credit for being the best uh sign. getter of a long time, allegedly utilize. some electronics. I think that is where. people get mad. >> Yeah. If you could pick it up with just. your brain, good. If you bring in. electronics and you're recording and. you're studying and then you're doing it. in off times as well as on times, I. think that's when people kind of feel. disrespected by it. Now, on that note,
whenever it comes to actual play, your. lineup, like you said, for Dante Moore, I was very fortunate enough to be a part. of a couple uh quarterback meetings that. Payton was a part of. >> And it's like. >> Jim Sorggy, Curtis Painter, those backup. quarterbacks and Payton, they're looking. for a DB to do one thing. Hey, we just. need something. Is he is his right foot. a little bit back? Is he squatting a. little bit more maybe whenever he's. going to play press? Like any piece of. information they could find from film, they were going to try to exploit that. And I assume you guys knew that as well. with everything you did, everything has. to look the exact same. >> Oh yeah, we had coaches quality control.
guys who that's what they look for. They'll watch TV copies listening for. Cadence. Obviously, if you had a former. player like for example, Reggie Wayne. played with Payton for a long time. So. when Pton comes into town, now Pton's. going to change everything for sure. So. you can't get too caught up in it. And. then we had to tell on a guy like Ben. Rothosberger like run past. But okay, what what okay or passing the ball? You. still got to stop the concept. You still. got to make a play. So, it comes down to. execution. But the more you know, pre-. snap, you know, it'll definitely help. you. >> Well, and that's just why I think in. baseball they got so pissed is because. when you play that many games, like you.
are seeing these teams like, you know, if it's a divisional team, like you're. you're playing them like 15 16 times a. year and you're seeing these pitchers a. bunch. So, it's like if you do have a. tell on a guy or you're, you know, just. using film and cheating, it's like, you. know, you're you're automatically. winning that matchup and you might see. that guy four or five times over the. course of the season. >> Let's pivot away from baseball and let's. go to something that dropped puck. yesterday, but tonight it really starts. cuz the Pittsburgh Penguins are playing. Ladies and gentlemen, the man who is.
known as the greatest hockey player of. all time for good reason. I from. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania used to say he. was the second best player or maybe. third best player in the history of. hockey. Then some people as I continued. to say this publicly came up to me and. said, "Hey, do you know if you got rid. of just goals, it's entirely this guy. would still lead the history of the NHL. in points." So, not just like good at. scoring, also good at setting up and. manipulation of defense and also was. willing to hit and also lad of the lads.
This is by far the great one. No. questions asked. Now he's on TV with TNT. talking about the greatness of hockey. Ladies and gentlemen, Wayne Gretzky. >> Nice to see everyone. Thanks for having. me on. And you're right, last night was. a great start. Uh the game couldn't be. in better shape and it's fun to watch. I'm a fan and I love it. It's and you. know tonight Pittsburgh and Philly. Pittsburgh's got some. things to prove after getting beat last.
year upset in the playoffs by the Young. Flyers. So Sid is on top of his game. I. looked to him for him to have another. great season. He's defying age. He gets. better every year. >> How many years did you play in uh the. NHL? How old were you whenever you hung. up the skates finally? I turned pro at. 17, one year in the WHA uh in. Indianapolis and then Edmonton of course. racing and then 19 years. So I got 20. years of professional hockey. Um and you.
know the the great thing about the game. was playing the games. And one of the. reasons I retired was the older you get, the more you have to train. And I just. mentally couldn't figure out, okay, how. am I going to train two to three hours a. day, five or six days a week, and that's. when I knew it was time to retire. Well, the game certainly misses you and the. game is happy that you're back calling. it. Sydney Crosby, I believe in his 22nd. season now all with Pittsburgh. We're. incredibly lucky and thankful that he's. there alongside Gino and Tanganger. That's at 7:30 tonight. Also, Islanders,
Maple Leafs, and Kings and Avalanche. Let's go back to yesterday a little bit. with you talking about the games. Carolina Hurricanes now start their trek. after being world champions for the. first time. Florida Panthers debut a. brand new team with Brady Kachchuck out. there. They had to watch the entire. Stanley Cup banner celebration before. the game even started. Thought it was a. lock for the Panthers. What do you. expect from those two teams, both the. Carolina Panthers and or Carolina. Hurricanes and a Florida Panthers? >> Well, listen, I don't think there's. anything worse than being a Stanley Cup.
champion or Super Bowl champion and then. losing and then the next year you go in. and you have to see your biggest rival. raising the banner. I think that you're. standing on the blue line gritting your. teeth thinking and hoping, okay, I can't. wait to get this game started and try to. win back what we had two years ago. So, you know, Florida, Bill Zito's done an. incredible job putting together a really. good young hockey club and last year was. not really a reflection of their team. They had a lot of key injuries for a lot.
of the year. Matthew Tuchuk is such a. big part of the success of that team. you know, he's such an agitator, but. it's one thing to be an agitator, but. you got to be able to play the game. It's It doesn't do the team any good if. you're just an agitator. But Matthew's a. leader. He scores big goals. He makes. big plays. The two guys that I kind of. relate to when I played were Theo Flurry. was that kind of a player and Shawn. Avery. Those two guys, they were. agitators, but they could play the game. And you got to be able to do that. And.
so now adding Brady, the brother, and. you know, you can see it how close they. are as a family. Their father's a Hall. of Famer. They got two Olympic gold. medals. They got two Stanley Cups now. Um, >> it's a good time for that family to go. buy a lottery ticket. >> I think they already I think they've. already hit it a couple times now. >> Obviously, it's earned and deserved. I'm. excited for Florida Panther to get back. into the conversation of Stanley Cup. alongside obviously the Pittsburgh. Penguins. AJ has a question for you.
Great one. >> Yeah. I'm just curious. Yourself as a. player. When you were playing, would you. attack certain goalies? Like would you. have a book on each goalie? I think like. as football players, we think, hey, you. you're going to play against like. certain defensive coordinators and their. calls and what they're doing. I'm. thinking for you scoring so many goals. and points obviously. Do you have a. specific plan for each goalie as you go? >> Yeah. You know, and I think that the one. thing that I learned about playing. professional sports is I had so much. respect for our coaching staff and I was. like a sponge. and Mark Messi was the. same way and Paul Coffee was that way.
We wanted all the intel that we could. get and you know the game is played at. such a high pace and it's so fast and. it's way faster today than it was back. when we played. But there's always. idiosyncrasies that goalies have whether. he catches right-handed, catches. left-handed, if he likes to go down, if. he opens his legs, uh if he comes out. and challenges you a little bit more. than another guy. So yeah, all that. information is vital because the game is. so fast. Yeah, the it feels like modern. technology as well. We have stats and.
analytics on everything. I think goalies. probably even have stats and analytics. on where guys like to shoot, you know, but how much information. >> Oh, absolut Yeah, absolutely. And the. better the goalie, the more that that. they take in and the more video that. they watch. It's like every other sport, the best athletes and the the the most. unique players on those teams, those are. hardest working guys usually. And take. Sydney Crosby and Ovetchkin. I mean, they're 20 years in and both of them are. still important and imperative to the. success of their team. Um, and that's a.
good thing. And and the other side of it. is we got some great young players now. with Celibbrini and McDavid and. McKinnon. Um, on and on. It's just Bard. and Chicago. It's just a great time for. the National Hockey League and these. kids are really good athletes. >> Ticket sales up last night for the start. of the NHL season across the board in. all the arenas. Hopefully that will. continue because the sport is incredible. and awesome. You just mentioned one name. there and you talk about the next. generation. A lot of pressure. Go ahead, Debbie. >> Yeah, he's talking about Conor McDavid. and if you're a casual outside of.
hockey, you know, everyone says he's the. greatest player of his generation, but. you also, hey, when is he going to win? Well, how much pressure is on him now as. he approaches kind of that 30-year-old. mark. >> Yeah, I'm sure there's a little bit more. pressure right now than there was say. five, six, seven years ago. You know, there's no question he's the best player. of the game. Um the question might be in. a couple years is he go down as the. greatest player ever lived? Uh I always. tell people that Bobby or and Gordy How. are the two greatest players ever lived? Mark Messi was the best player ever.
played uh played with and Mario Mariel. Lemieux was the greatest player ever. played against. So you know corner. there's always a stigma about winning. the Stanley Cup and I know him really. well. Nobody wants to win a championship. worse than he does. So hopefully his. time will come. I know it's not from a. lack of effort or dedication or love of. the sport and I hope one day he gets. that opportunity to lift the Stanley. Cup. He he definitely deserves it. He's. the one guy team sell tickets. He's one. of the players in the league that sells. tickets and you know we desperately need.
him in our game. >> Yeah. Don't we kind of need him with the. Penguins? >> Well, I live in Florida. I'd like to see. him there, but people in Edmonton don't. want him to leave. >> Yeah. People in Edmonton are going to be. pissed that you said it with me. They. just think that I'm uh obviously. >> I think he's I think he's a mainstay. Edmonton. He likes it there. The. organization is a good organization and. they got a chance every year to win and. that's all he wants. And I I don't see. corner leaving Edmonton. >> What? Bousard had five points last. night, I think, to start the entire.
Yeah, pretty good for the Edmonton. Oilers last night. If they don't. >> I think he's the I think he's the first. guy to get a hat-tick as a defenseman in. game one since Mark How. And I think. there was a guy in 1919 that did it. also. First game of the year as a. defenseman. So he's in pretty good. company with Mark How. >> Yeah, I'd say pretty good company. Hatrick and two assists. So I mean we're. we're a part of everything. Absolute. magic with the long stick back there. Edmonson Oilers don't win one though. again. >> I mean it's every offseason, every end.
of season. It's like McDavid, we want to. see him, we want to see him, we want to. see him. Hopefully they're able to get. it done for the good of the sport. Another Go ahead. I I I think the thing I've said on TV. the last few years, they've been to two. Stanley Cup finals and the thing I've. said, and this is what I've hearing out. of the new coaching staff, that you need. a third and fourth line, that you need a. second power play unit. And you know, one line or one guy can't win a. championship. You've got to have 20 guys. pulling on the same rope. And I think. that's what this coaching staff is going. to bring into that team is this is going.
to be a way better team come February. than it is in October. Let's talk about. another Canadian team who's been hyped. up crazy and hasn't won. Go ahead, Con. man. >> Yeah, Wayne knowo. Obviously pass. talking about the Toronto Maple Leafs. It's been pretty ugly, but they got the. number one pick, Gavin McKenna. He made. his debut last night. What' you think. about it? Did you expect it to be what. it was? Bill Nelander goes out there, scores a goal right away, but what do. you think about the Maple Leafs chances. and Gavin McKenna this year? >> Well, listen, they're in a rebuilding.
process. Um, there's no question when. you get the first pick overall that. means you didn't have a very good year. the year before. But my hat goes off to. this young man. You know, it's one thing. to go to Toronto and be the first pick. overall. And there's way more pressure. if you're Canadian boy and you get. dropped in number one by Canada in. Toronto. And I've listened to a lot of. what he said. I've listened to him talk. He seems like he's very mature for 18. years old. Hey, listen. It's going to. take a little bit of time. He's a young. kid. He's not very big, but he's going. to grow and get bigger and stronger. But.
I really like the way he's handled. himself uh with the media and with the. game itself. He's going to be fine. And. I think that the the group in Toronto. has put together a nice little little. hockey club here. I think they're going. to be a better team this year than. people anticipate. >> I uh I hope that for their fans and they. they're viewed as what the Dallas. Cowboys of Canada, right? Always. >> hockey. >> Yeah. The Yankees. The Yankees of. baseball, the Cowboys of of football. It's very similar. It's, you know, people love the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It's it's in Canada, we used to only. have two teams. So in the 40s, 50s, and. 60s, all you watched was either Toronto. or Montreal. And so they have this huge. following right across the entire. country. >> Is Austin still up there? Because I. heard all the Americans want to get the. hell out of Canada. What's that all. about? >> No, that that's not true. U Austin, I. think, really likes it there. He gets. treated great. He's a great player. Um, I don't think it's all the Americans. wanted to leave Canada. It's just. sometimes business comes into play, right? And you know, for Brady Tuk, he.
probably wanted to play with his. brother. Why not? And so, just happens. that he's American boy. >> Yeah, it just so happens. Yeah, I agree. Whenever I got a chance to see him at. that Rams game sitting down, what a. hilarious situation, by the way. Thank. you for the invite up there. Drinks were. fantastic. Stories were legendary. And. obviously sitting right behind Demar D. Rozan and Russell Westbrook and then you. know everybody it's just Wayne Gretzky's. here. I first thing I say is hey all the. Americans are trying to get the hell out. of Canada. He goes no no no don't say.
that don't don't say that. I go that's. what I'm reading. I'm reading all the. headlines. They said get me the hell out. of this country. He go don't don't. It's. been happening for a long time. It's. business. We understand how this goes. Like immediately was like do not. I. appreciate you having to take that. stance or taking that stance, but. >> yeah, they they need to watch Shorzy. Best show on TV. >> The Canadians have such good lingo. >> Canadians are a funny bunch, bro. You. guys are a funny bunch. Now, >> talk about hockey a little bit and you.
know, with uh so many games, 84 this. year, there is a wonder on your guys'. stats on who what matters and when. Go. ahead, Ty. Yeah, Weno, off that point, you know, and it seems like the team. that wins the Stanley Cup every year, like they're getting hot right as the. playoffs start or, you know, the goalie. gets hot. How how much stock should we. take in this first month of the season? Both like as players, like what did you. guys think about it? And then as a fan, like how how much should you be living. and dying with how your team looks in. the first month of the season knowing.
that this is a marathon and not a. sprint? >> It's a definitely a marathon. And I I. say to people, you know, if you start. the season 10 and three, you're in a. good spot. You're you're going to be. solid all year. If you start the year. three and 10, you're playing catchup the. entire year. And then it always seems to. be those teams get unlucky and they get. some injuries and that just curtails it. into a big tail spin. But when I played. and back in the day, rinks were.
different sizes. So like the Boston. Garden was small, Buffalo Auditorium was. small, uh the Olympia was small, Chicago. stadium. So you did everything you could. to get home ice advantage because we had. bigger ice surface. Today, every arena. is the same size. So it doesn't matter. if you play home or on the road now. Uh. players are comfortable playing on the. road. And you know, John Cooper would. tell you and we're good friends and he. would say sometimes it's better to start. on the road in the playoffs because the. players are more together and there's. less to worry about outside of the game.
And so yeah, they want to finish first. or second as high as they can and they. play hard every night. U but it's a long. long season, 84 games. The teams that go. in with the hottest goalie and the least. amount of injuries seem to be the most. successful. I like that you guys were. just kind of running a little outlaw. outfit back then and whatever. When did. >> they get uniform ice? When did they all. get the same ice? >> Um, when the commissioner came in, I. think in '92 when they started to build. the new arenas, he made it sort of a.
rule. Okay. Oh, all the rinks are going. to be the same size. I mean, we played. in Boston Garden. I saw Ray Bour score. from the other side of center and you. thought, "Wow, he scored from the other. side of center." But it was really about. the size of the blue line in any other. arena. Not that he didn't have a great. shot, but it was a difference. And so. when you played Boston in like in the. finals, we wanted home ice advantage to. get that extra game on a bigger ice. surface. And it became important. >> Nets were all the same size cuz I'll. tell you, if you were shooting at a.
different size net than everybody else, I'm going to have to start talking about. this great one. >> Whoa. >> You know, >> I wish I wish the Nets were bigger when. I played. >> Yeah, I think you did just fine, pal. I. think you did just fine. I think they're. fine. >> Last question here. Great one comes from. a Pittsburgh Penguins fan. Go ahead, AQ. >> Yeah, it's been about 10 years since the. Penguins won their last cup and. obviously they've done everything they. can to keep the big three together. You. mentioned, right, >> that Sydney Crosby is defying age. He's. still playing at an elite level. They. got Malcon, they got Latang, they got. Carlson. Do they still have a window to.
win? >> Absolutely. when your leader is the most. dedicated player on the team and when. your leader is the classiest person in. the league probably um everybody follows. that example. So you practice harder, you dedicate yourself to being unselfish. as a teammate. And listen, Pittsburgh. has been so fortunate. They had Mario. Lemieux came in basically saved hockey. in Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He saved the Penguins. And. lo and behold, would we ever think we.
get a guy that's as good and as classy. as Sydney Crosby? And so that city's had. two of the greatest players who ever. played the game and two of the most. important influential people in our game. in that they were important and. imperative for the city of Pittsburgh. and for hockey in that area. >> Well, Wayeno, we can't wait to watch the. season with you. We appreciate you. joining us. Tell Biz and the lads we say. hello and good luck this year. >> All right, thank you guys. You guys have. a wonderful day. Take care, man. >> You're the absolute best. That's Wayne. Gretzky. Yeah, wait. >> Lock off. See you later. Got to hear.
you. >> Doug Goat, legend. >> The best. He's the one that informed me. that hockey was dropping puck this week. He said, "Hey, regular season starts. next week, pal." I was like, "Will you. come on the show?" Yeah. I start booking. it. They show us and then all of a. sudden I'm like, "Hocky's happening. Wayne Gretzky's coming on the show." I. love that man. >> Yeah, >> I absolutely love Wayne. >> He really is. He's so humble in kind. He. was wearing a Grove 23 hoodie there. I. guess that's Michael Jordan's golf. course. >> Yeah. Love spinning out there. Goats. with goats.
>> Oh yeah. >> We continue. Goodbye. Big day shreds. >> You got you got in there. >> You got it. >> I don't think I did. >> I think so. >> You got it. >> It's kind of like delay a game in the. NFL. >> Zero. >> The zero really has to hit. >> It was like the Ravens game. >> Yep. >> No, you know what it was like? And we've. already forgotten about it. >> Michigan. Western Michigan. Yeah, of. course. >> Does anybody care about that now? >> No. No, they got theirs.
>> But Iowa that last second. >> Mhm. >> Touchdown. >> They got theirs. >> That is old football justice right. there, isn't it? >> And now we're heading to Iowa on Friday. >> Boom. >> Hey, I'm pretty pumped up. H, I'm pretty. pumped up about going to Iowa. I'm going. be honest. >> I would say those people are going to be. uh pretty uh, you know, all the kids. They're probably ready now. They're. probably already out there at that. What's the spot called again, Ty? >> Penacrist. >> It's right there. And it's the quad uh. for Iowa, I do believe. >> Yeah. I mean, >> essentially, >> you would call it Yeah, >> it is the quad.
>> That is the the actual name is the. pentacrist, but like if you were. watching like a movie, >> they would say. >> like a college. Yeah, that would be the. quad. >> cuz you're going through a quad. Exactly. To the gymnasium. >> Bingo. Correct. >> Every school's got a quad. >> Now, that is far away from stadium. though. >> No. No. Uh, I'd say it's probably like. um it's like a maybe like a mile walk, a. little longer, like 15 minute walk like. because there are there are dorms on the. other side of the river that are very. close to the stadium, but all of like.
the campus buildings where you would. like go to classes are around where we. are. So, uh, no, it's it's not it's not. too bad. >> Okay, so Friday we're there 11:00 local, noon Eastern. Uh, can't wait to see. everybody chitchat a little bit. gonna. have to curtail how that program goes. Should reach out to some local legends, see if they want to swing by. I got a. lot of friends that went to Iowa. Yeah. >> Now that I'm kind of rattling through. them in my head. A lot of people we. probably got to tell we're coming to. town and we'd like to see them. >> Yeah. It's been a bit overwhelming for. me. I'll be honest. I've gotten like.
10,000 text messages over like the last. like three days just like, "Hey, do you. want do you think this guy's would Pat. want him on the show? Would he want him. on the show?" You know, so. >> Oh, I like to hear that. That makes life. a lot easier. >> Exactly. So, >> thank you whoever's saying that. >> Right. So, uh, yeah, I think we'll have. we'll have plenty plenty of options, I. think. >> Yeah. And we're coming right out of AFC. North football on the night before. >> Exactly. >> Mhm. >> Iowa naturally Steelers fans because you. guys have the same uniforms. >> I wouldn't necessarily say so, but they.
also. >> Bears, Packers fans over there. >> Yeah, Vikings. Um, you know, kind of. kind of all three. But I would say that. they definitely respect the Steelers. because. >> Let's go to Hammer Dod. >> Tony, how are we going to be on Friday? Fresh out of the Cleveland Browns. Pittsburgh Steelers game on Thursday. night in which the Browns have been very. dominant in the past on Thursday nights. >> We're going to be fresh as a daisy, you. know, just eager to get at it and have a. great show on Friday is is my. assumption. Uh no matter what happens on. Thursday night because that doesn't.
control my happiness. >> Are you sure? >> Yes. >> Really? >> Yes. I don't think that's He's being. truthful. >> Yeah, it sounds like a bit of a me. >> He just knows we're all going to get. [ __ ] tuned up on Thursday night. together and then no matter what, Friday. is going to be a great time. >> I am kind of excited for the lads to be. in a city on. >> so pumped. >> on a Thursday night. >> It's like the best part. >> Yeah, we got to figure out what we're. doing there. I think there's been a lot. of plans kicked around. >> I thought they had a Medieval Times. >> They don't. They know Medieval Times. >> I checked again this morning. They do.
>> Says they do. If if there's a medieval. times, I would like to go see. >> And Pentatonics. is going to be there, too. >> Pentatonics is gonna be at the. Pentacest. >> Yep. Every every Friday, every Thursday. night. Yeah. >> Is there going to be any members from. the Pentagon going to be? How about How. about Penta Zero MO? >> I don't know who that is. >> Oh, he's Iowa Hawkeye's George KD's. favorite wrestler. >> He is. >> So, you heard Penta and just immediately. your brain goes, "Oh, I wonder if the. Pentatonics will be there.". >> Yeah. Yeah. I don't I can't remember the. show, but when they were on it, it was.
awesome. The voice. >> No, it was a it was a uh a capella show. or whatever. >> I know what you're talking about. With. Nick Lachche, >> the singer and I kind of similar white. look guy. >> Skinnier Gary Levant. He's got he's got. the high. >> with the. >> Yeah, >> I just know him. They do Christmas music. usually, don't they? >> Very well. And they do anything well. Yeah, they're they're because they're. beatbox plus singing, right? The beatboxers used to have a run. You. remember that? I mean, that was like a. good run. I saw a video of Justin.
Timberlake doing it the other day. Everybody was making fun of him. >> What? >> Why? >> Like for beatboxing or. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Yeah. He's had he's had a rough go. these last couple years. >> Yeah. But when it was happening in real. time, the crowd went crazy. >> He needs to remember that the crowd went. crazy in real time. >> cuz I don't know if he's being told that. right now. >> Yeah, definitely not. >> Kind of a pylon situation. >> They teasing for. >> He was Yeah. I guess I shouldn't. surprise. >> Yeah. >> Unbelievable. >> He did a whole They call me.
>> He did a whole find that. >> You'll find it. It's going to pop up in. your algo now cuz I brought it up. So, I. apologize. You're going to see about a. hundred of these things. He used to. really He used to really get in there. They were killing them for it. There's. some really talented beatboxer. Biz. Marquee. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> He was incredible, right? >> Oh, yeah. >> Doggy doggy fresh. >> Is that the DJ? >> Are people still doing it? Pentatonics. sounds like. >> I mean I guess it's not nearly as. prevalent as it used to be. It'll make a. comeback. Everything does.
>> Yeah. Super wide jeans at the mall. I. bought a pair just because actually. >> Jenkos Aerapostel. >> Oh, perfect. >> Yeah, it was Aerapostel. Is these big. ones? I I. >> had them in my J C Penney bag walking. around the mall. Yep. >> I mean, I was just having such a good. time. >> Were all the stores open? >> All of them packed. >> That's wild. I haven't been to the mall. without having, you know, 50% of them. boarded up. >> Gump, what time was that? Uh we were. just in uh it. >> was like 3:30 Tennessee. >> There it is. Knoxville. We were in. Knoxville, Tennessee. >> I cannot express how packed Hot Topic. was. Wall to wall.
>> packed. We had to do this number here. We do this number here while we were. trying to get to the cool t-shirts in. the back. >> God. Spencer's gifts. >> Uh you know what? >> Had Spencer was great. >> We didn't do the whole mall. The food. court could have been a nightclub. It. was unbelievable. They they actually had. a sports bar round in the middle of it. with all Sparrow as soon as you walk in. >> True New York slice. Happy Big Joe got a. chance to experience a true New York. pizza. He is uh or slice of pizza. He's. former uh New York police officer.
>> So took him home. So he so he got it. So. >> So yeah, it was really I was excited to. buy him a true New York slice for the. first time in his life. It was nice that. we got to enjoy that together. But I'm. telling you, Knoxville, Tennessee, that. mall, thank you. That was just like. We're there for what, an hour and a. half? Probably just walking around. >> Yeah, it was a full day. >> We just just walking around, experiencing it just in real time. Then. like one group noticed um you know, we. were in there and then it's funny how. that works out everywhere we go. You.
know, it's like, oh, now everybody in. the city seemingly knows. So, we had to. get out of there pretty quick, which is. why we didn't experience the entirety of. the mall. There was I mean, there was a. little kids playground area. Mom yelling. at kid. I mean, it was just like. >> Oh, yeah. >> It was 2002 again. I mean, slide in. there. Bunch of kids waiting in line to. get on the slide there. It was crazy. It. was. >> There's a sick mall right by where we're. staying in in the Iowa City area. >> Is it going to be packed out like the. Knoxville Mall? The Knoxville Mall was.
packed. >> That surprises me. I can't remember the. la I can't remember the last time I even. walked in a mall. >> Random groups of teens walking around. >> Really? So, it was back in 2004. >> It really was. Yeah, it felt like that. I think I said that like 10 times to. Gumpy. I'm like, "Bro, this was like a. lot of my high school life right here. Just walking around a [ __ ] mall. Let's go see. Literally, let's go to the. food court. See what type of samples we. got here." Used to hit six laps at the. Monroval Mall uh food court. Get three. different samples. That's 18 bites. That's a pretty good little carryover.
>> There's an orange Julius. >> I did see an orange Julius. >> Triple berry blast with the orange. Julius. Yeah. Oh, yeah. >> Cinnabon has to be Cinnabon. >> Cinnabon was in there. I'm. >> ants. >> Mhm. >> It wasn't. >> Oh, it was ants. Yeah, true. Cell phone. dealer in the middle. >> Oh yeah. >> Working. >> Yep. >> Fix your screen if you need it. >> I actually I didn't like the lack of. effort from one of the hustlers. I. forget what group it was. There was some. It might have been like a little phone. case one walked by. >> Three lads definitely have phones, you. know. Not a word was said to us. And I'm.
just looking at this guy. >> They don't [ __ ] make them like they. used to. Anyway, >> two for one diamond store on the way. out. Of course. >> Nice. >> That was great. >> The car in there that you could win. anywhere. Oo, there was no big giveaway. sign up for a raffle. And there's also. no armed forces sign up. >> cuz I did that to a couple of my friends. while we were walking in the mall. >> They follow up with that whole thing. >> Oh yeah, big time. >> Never forget. >> Couple times. >> Larman family crying their eyes out. >> cuz you signed them. >> What?
>> What? You talked them into going to war. without their parents knowing. >> showed up the store. >> Yeah. Yeah. I was there. I was there. when it was all happened. I do was 100%. bee. I felt terrible. Chris had to. answer a lot of questions, you know. >> Little sister Kelly going Chris going. military. >> I felt terrible. I stopped doing it that. day, you know. I felt so bad. But I did. sign him up for that. >> I think they labeled him a deserter. >> No. No. I did not ruin it, dude. He he. he was very flustered by it all. And I.
felt terrible. I mean, that's what we. used to have to do. I signed my mom up. for so many things. I mean I mean she. was. >> like what what would you sign her up. for? There was like little things you. could sign up in new magazine show up. just Yeah. Hey, >> pyramid schemes. >> Yeah. Whenever somebody's coming to. hustle me to get out of that. conversation, I clearly just sign. people. Yeah. No problem. Bang. Boom. Put me in there. Back in the day. No. followup until there is a follow-up. >> Right. >> Then all of a sudden, Chris Arman can't. go to military because he's got bad. back. So. >> saved him.
So bad. I stopped it. That was a real. wakeup call for me. That was a real. wakeup call for me. That was like a. month beforehand, too. I I mean, that. was I had to really rack my brain on. what was going on. And then I had to. come out and say, >> "It's on me. Hand up.". >> This whole situation, >> I just [ __ ] with my daughter like that. My 15-year-old Navy sent something to. the house. I was like, "Oh, got. drafted.". >> I was like, I couldn't even keep going. Like 10. You saw our eyes well up. I was. like, "Oh, >> we that all these reactions are why we.
have so much respect for the military, brother.". >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. Just like that. That fear of worst. possible outcome is always what some. people think of. So to continue to go. through that massive respect. On that. note, I shouldn't have done what I did. and I stopped immediately. >> Funny prank. >> You learned. >> I had no idea. I mean, just for the. followup of that whole thing, >> shout out to them. All right, let's take. a break on the other side. We got an. offensive line ranking that we need to. talk about. We got some situational. reporting and some good defense that. needs to be chitchated about. And we got.
more headlines that need to be discussed. from around the NFL and from college. football. Is Jeremiah Smith about to win. the Heisman? >> Sure looks like. >> Maybe. >> Arthur Smith is the offense coordinator. >> Mhm. >> Think about that. >> Are they related? >> I think so. >> Yeah. Are they? >> I'm not 100% sure. >> Take care. Give a FedEx deal. >> I don't want to say what I'm thinking. cuz anything's possible. >> Sure. They're both tall. Both wildly. alpha.
>> Yeah, >> maybe. I was thinking they don't look. alike, but. >> jeans are weird. >> Yeah, >> especially nowadays. They're either way. too wide or they're way too tight. I. can't. >> It's true. You may go to a boot cut. >> Well, I started slicing at the bottom, you know, so that I could wear shoes. I. got these cowboy boots that are. literally the only dress shoes that I. have that fit right now. And I got these. tight jeans on and the boots just look. like they're popping out out the side of. it. And I got cowboys that point you. [ __ ] [ __ ].
So I took scissors to them last time. But I can't be wearing those [ __ ]. >> No. No. >> They got those everywhere. >> Yeah. You cannot be wearing those. >> I can't get into those. >> Those are what is now though. I was at. the mall. I was at the mall. >> Oh yeah. >> That is They are everywhere right now. That that is not just like a one. You're. not just going into Hot Topic finding. those pants, okay? Which you used to be. able to. They're always sitting in there. somewhere, you know, alongside great. graphic tea. Fun little mug. Bunch of. little gimmicks here. Some Goth stuff in. the back corner. I think Goth's coming. back because Champagne Poppy.
potentially. Really? >> I think that's kind of happened in this. whole world. But those jeans are. everywhere. Buckle walked into Buckle. Also, Affliction jeans still bringing it. there. >> What? >> Almost bought a pair cuz I had to. >> Affliction still has clothes. >> Oh yeah. >> Dumpy almost got a pair actually. Did. you not Gump? >> Yeah, there's more diamonds on them than. ever. It was incredible. There was a. nice Hazbula shirt, too. >> Yeah, that was right in front row. Affliction has gone through inflation, though. A lot more diamonds. >> Okay. >> A lot more money. >> No, Ed Hardy, unfortunately. >> Yeah, Ed Hardy was the big one.
>> I'm sure we could have found him in. there somewhere. I'm sure we could have. found him in there. >> Von Dutch hat. >> Do you guys know about Extreme Motion? >> No. >> Well, it's a new uh style of jeans. I. believe Levi or Wranglers have. >> Oh, wow. Yeah, I've heard of it. >> I walked into uh JC Penney. >> and a man with one of the best voices. I've ever heard. Well, hello, Mr. McAfee. Welcome to J C Penney. You. looking for anything? I go, that's a. good voice. You should be doing. something with that voice. He goes, thank you. You know, just continues. I.
was like, uh, I'm looking for some. pants, I think, for tomorrow. Have you. seen the extreme motions? Car walks me. back. Walks me. I mean, this is 2002. Customer service. >> with a smile and a great voice. Takes. you back. Boom. These are the extreme. motions. You say, "These are the best. jeans that have been created. They're. actually the pair I'm wearing right now. What you see what they do is they add. extra material to this part right here. >> Okay. >> Right down here. So you got you got an. extra little flap down in between the. thighs. More space right where you need it.
>> Oh wow. >> Bigger ballroom in the hotel. >> These are my favorite jeans. If they. would have had a pair that I could have. fit in, I would have bought them. immediately just because of this guy's. effort. None my size. So I didn't get a. chance to experience them. >> Quads or waist? >> Uh waist. Yeah, quads no longer really a. problem. I'm not doing much legs anymore. kicking anything. Are you doing legs. still? >> Oh yeah. >> You're a psycho. Is that because you got. to train you train these offensive? >> No. No. Kind of. But also like ever. since I tore my ACL, if I don't do.
anything like that knee feels horrible. >> All right. What? We're squatting? >> Yeah, I still squat. >> You're putting a bar on your back right. now? >> Yeah. >> Jesus. >> Yeah. >> AJ, are you putting a bar on your back. right now? >> Uh, sometimes I can when I, you know, my. knee's not going to fall apart. I will. But yeah, I definitely try to lift legs. as much as I can. >> Debo, are you putting a bar on your. back? >> I keep 275 on my squat rack and I just. do 20 20 clips here and there. >> You guys are all putting bars on your. back. JJ just did down in Brazil. I. thought we all stopped doing that. We We.
did not stop doing that. >> No, I like the knees over toe stuff, too. That makes my knees feel. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I don't not a full squat. >> You just. >> Yeah. Probably never. I do book split. squats, though. >> Yeah. >> You can't You can't ever give those up. Yeah. >> Rear foot elevated too. >> on the Bulgarian. You just put that leg. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> So JJ was doing Russian lifts, Bulgarian. lifts. >> No American lifts down in Brazil. >> Probably Turkish get up in there.
>> Yeah. In that piss corner. >> Mhm. >> He's probably doing that. What did the. Americans create? Bench press. >> Military press. Raw power. >> That's what we created. Yeah. >> Military press. I assume so. This goes in. It's not just about what. you create. It's about how you master. everything. >> Mhm. >> Boom. >> This is for injuries. This is for. injuries going forward. All sports.
>> Okay. >> Oh jeez. Big one there. >> All sports. >> I don't like it. I mean, you did it last. week. I called a game where there was 55. injuries in the Niners Cardinals game. >> Remember, it's not me, it's the. universe. >> Yeah, true. Of course. Oh yeah. >> Jesus. >> Uhoh. Is that two air balls? >> They're not even close either. >> No. >> Yep. There it is. >> Still.
>> Jeez Louise. Oh my god. >> Let's get to a break. >> Back on the other side. We got a lot to. talk about, including what appears to be. a devastating weekend of injuries. No, >> I don't like that one bit. Not one bit. >> That ball means nothing. >> Nothing. >> And you acting like it does. >> Disgusting. >> I don't like it. >> I hope you're right. >> Do you think I was being serious when I. said a lot of we talk to Jason Kelsey as.
he was talking about the Philadelphia. Eagles football team? >> No, I didn't think you were being. serious. And also. he played for him for 15 years. Why. can't he say we? >> He's the mascot of the Philadelphia. Eagles, >> right? >> Yeah. >> I liked your opening. >> That was insane. >> Your opening was awesome today. >> I'm [ __ ] sick of it. I mean, especially people who get taken out of. context and like kind of, you know,
>> I get it. >> It's like, come on. We got a lot of. lying going on out there. I don't need. it. I'll put myself in my own [ __ ] I. don't need [ __ ] fake [ __ ] baby. You. know what I mean? Like, I don't I don't. need that right now. And there's real. life repercussions for this entire. thing, you know, that I actually have to. deal with on the back end and see and. experience. So, it's like, you know, it's a fun time until it's like not, you. know, getting kirked, you know, is something. that has been talked about uh numerous. times now. And it's like there's also. like calls happening behind like there's.
a lot actually happening. So, I. certainly appreciate it. and everybody. that's looking out and also to the. people that are just feeding that I. appreciate you doing that because if not. me then who? >> You know and if not now then when? >> And I said we about the Chicago Bears. [ __ ] right after Jason Kelsey said we. about the Eagles. >> I heard it. >> Nobody. So. >> and I picked the Eagles to win a game. >> Yeah, you did. >> Bears plus three and a half though. I. was Hey, hot bat last weekend against. the spread. I don't know if you've seen.
how it ended up. Have you seen how it. ended up? No, I know you were killing it. before that game even. >> I did pretty good. I I did I did pretty. good, which I'm excited about. And you. also not terrible. Hey, >> I flipped back to Chicago at least for. the I was 77. I flipped back to Chicago. at the end. >> I mean, we should be very proud of. ourselves right now. You, me, I'm proud. mostly cuz I've caught up to you. You've. been above 500 now every single week. picking against the spread. That's not. easy at all. You've been you've been. seeing it very good. Now 10 and five, >> this is the new standard for me. >> Mhm.
>> Yep. >> Okay. for all of us. >> This is every week. We need to be doing. this. Now, on that note, 12 one scorecore games. this past Sunday. >> Nuts. >> Every one of these bets could have went. the other way at any given moment, which. is why we all need to gamble. responsibly. >> That's right. >> Okay. Let's remember that. Stop be. putting our houses up on anything, >> especially you, AJ. I know you've been. getting a little irresponsible with your. your thoughts because of how good you've.
been seeing it. I need you to remain. responsible and not ruin it for all of. us. Okay, >> I get it. But is it our job to hold. other people accountable that are. adults? >> Yes, it actually. >> dangers that we don't know. >> from my understanding. Yes, it is very. much our our our. >> we gota at least you got to warn them. You got to let them know the pitfalls of. the situation and then hey go go be you. I would just like us to, you know, just be very comfortable. saying to other people like, "Hey, just.
responsibly bet on something.". >> Yeah. >> Like yesterday, I see the Florida. Panthers watching the Carolina. Hurricanes do their entire thing for 20. minutes, and I say to myself, I'm going. to responsibly max unit the Florida. Panthers to win this game. >> There you go. >> Now, it took all the way till the final. seconds of overtime for that to happen, but this one felt good. And I thought to. myself, I'm happy I responsibly max. united, which is a responsible number, the Florida Panthers in that time. >> Now, could they have tied this and lost.
this very easily? >> Yep. >> In what? I felt terrible. Certainly. But. I wouldn't have been at my entire bank. roll cuz I was responsible about it. >> That's right. >> We all need to do that. Especially you, AQ. >> That's right. I'm always responsible. I got a lot of I got a lot of mouths to. feed. I love your family, by the way. Hey, he. might have one in the uh soccer world. He might actually have one. >> I remember Tim talking about it a while. ago when I was when he was giving me a. ride out in Arizona. Yeah, she sounds. like she's a stud. >> Yes, another good weekend. 3-0. Won the.
championship. Beat a team from Vegas. Scored a goal. Let's go. >> Here we go. They're playing teams from. like Washington and How old is she? >> Eight. >> And they played up. They played in the. U10 bracket. >> and one. >> and one. >> Damn. >> Wow. >> Got to check some birth certificates. >> No kidding. So, seems like we got to. we're gonna have to see. >> These girls driving to the game. >> We're gonna have to see some of that. Those were the good old days. Those were. the good old days of like youth sports. Need need a [ __ ].
>> What's the birthday on this kid? >> Yeah, right. Just so rude. Kid just. sitting there taking it the entire time. >> I guess I'm not welcomed here. It's. like, you're a big [ __ ] buddy. >> You're a big mother. Freddy Adoo showed. up at one of the soccer tournaments, Bethesda, Maryland, playing against me. and my team. We're all very flustered about how we. were all the same age. He He certainly. did not feel or appear that way. >> How How much older was he? >> I don't know. They never got He was I. don't think they ever like he was.
literally I think ran away from home. then found. It's like not his fault at. all either. And I don't think they. actually ever known. But as soon as he. got put on the field with us, I think it. was all. >> this kid's not our age. Way older. >> Holy [ __ ] And he was he was talking the. whole time, too. I mean, he was like, "Ah, watch this. Watch like. we had a kid named Mitch Miner. He went. to Upper Slair in Pittsburgh. He was a. big kid. He was a big defender for our. age." And it was like him and Freddy. like battling and it was uh it was like.
a heavyweight fight. It was like a real. thing. And inevitably Freddy had that. left foot. You know, he did a couple of those. Hit a free. kick on us. I think looked like Messi. Put one in. It's like, god damn, that. was free kick taker for our team. It. ain't never going to look like that, boys. I apologize. Put one over the net. He goes back the other side right in. like this guy's the guy. Then he got. super famous after that weekend. And. then everybody say he was way too old. And then inevitably he could have been a. guy that saved America, soccer, and he.
kind of got burned out. I think he. didn't never He would have been though. >> Yeah. >> Cav Sullivan now doing our young lads. are winning right now, right? Our soccer. team's good. >> Yeah, Cav Sullivan went on an. unbelievable run down the wing, but. there was a uh 17year-old kid, actually. youngest kid to score against Chile last. night. >> What? >> Huh? >> That wasn't me. >> Who was it? I don't like the way he was. interrupted while he was talking about a. 91st minute run down the sideline.
It was tie. >> It was tie. >> 17 years 140 days old. Albert scored for. USA. There was a dust up at the end of. the game as well. >> And who won the dust up? >> It was pretty Chris Richards was fired. up. He scored as well. He said, "This is. We stand on business around here." It. was It was an entertaining match. 4-2. >> Who Who' they play? >> Chile. >> We [ __ ] better be. >> Chile. Tell you that much. >> We better beat Chile. Chile's a good. team. Here's the dust up right here. Chris Richard saying, "Hey, listen up, little fella. What you Oh, [ __ ] Did.
you see that? You saw that? >> Yeah. Quite the dust up. >> 2030 yet. >> Kevin Sulliv. season's here. Okay. The MLB playoffs. >> The World Cup's not for another six. [ __ ] years. Who gives a [ __ ]. >> by the by the time like I I understand. Okay. Kevin Sullivan's 17. He's going to. be [ __ ] 23 the next time we're in the. World Cup. >> We got the Gold Cup this summer. There's. not going to be anything else. I'll get. there when we get to the Gold Cup. I. don't give a [ __ ] about international.
friendlies during football season, during college football season, during. the playoffs. >> Punch. >> There he is. >> What? Punch. Ponchoinho. >> You don't believe in Punch? >> I do, but I I I don't [ __ ] care. >> Why should we believe in Punch? By the. way, >> he's got a young group here. He's. playing this young group. Okay. He sent. Pithic out for this one. Sat all the old. dogs. Chris Richards is in there. He's. young. Obviously, he plays overseas. We. got 17 year olds, 18 year olds, 19 year. olds in here. Ponch is trying to shape.
our actual next team. >> I don't think we should be completely. out on it yet. >> Well, hopefully for the our next draw, we get Licensenstein in our group three. times because that's that's what it's. going to take. And then we'll play a. team like Belgium or Colombia and we'll. get our [ __ ] asses kicked in the. knockout stages. And until we don't do. that, I'm not doing the same thing that. I've done for the last, well, really. every World Cup of my lifetime. USA is. the best team in the world. We're gonna. do it. We're gonna do it this time. And.
then we play a bunch of [ __ ] slap. dick countries who we have. >> fairway. We killed them. >> Beat the [ __ ] [ __ ] out of them. And I. guess they did. They beat Germany, right? This Germany team [ __ ] sucked. this year. They stunk. Who cares? We got. our asses kicked. I I was so embarrassed. with how invested I was in that. I was. flying I think I was flying back to like. Massachusetts watching that [ __ ]. sock. I had the soccer tarp on too. I. said I will never be caught seen doing. this [ __ ] again ever [ __ ] again.
Wearing a [ __ ] USA tarp on the plane. watching the game. I'm sitting there. We're getting beat [ __ ] 51. I looked. like the biggest [ __ ] on the face of. the earth. Like they got there gotta be. some [ __ ] new movies on this flight. or some recently released movies that I. could have watched. I'm not doing it. I'm not can't win with it. Can't win. with them. >> Well, I think Ponch is trying to find. guys he can win with. >> I love Punch. I just don't [ __ ] care. at all. >> All right, we won't talk about it. >> I would rather watch the Savannah.
Bananas 100 days of the week than than. watch anything related to our. international soccer club right now. >> All right. All right. We're done, John. We'll dump all that. Okay. Thanks. >> So, the Gold Cup. We're all waiting for. that Gold Cup this summer. >> I think we won the Gold Cup before, right? Have we not won this? >> What the hell is the Gold Cup? How long. do they. >> Well, so it has Rainbow Road in it. I. think it has Rainbow Road in it. It has. the castle. >> Bowser's Castle. >> It has Bowser's Castle in it. And it. also has. >> I think it's just like US, Jamaica, and. Cuba, right? And they each play each. other like a hundred times. Oh, yeah.
Mexico. Yeah, >> Mexico won the last one. >> I did think it was the Flower Cup. It's. the Gold Cup. >> It's the Gold Cup. It's the most. prestigious cup there is outside of the. World Cup, but it's close. >> outside of the MLS Cup. >> No, we've been down this road. We've. been down this road. >> Did you see Messi last night? >> Yeah, I did. I [ __ ] I was playing. goalie out there. Guy [ __ ] had his. thumb up his ass just waiting for I. mean, and Messi's unbelievable, but the. MLS [ __ ] stinks. Gumpy knows. Bobby. Boena hasn't done what I expected him to. do, what I was promised he would do.
>> You remember you were going to follow. along with Premier League Soccer? >> Yeah. What an insane thought. >> Holla's about be playing in the fifth. division. So. >> yeah, Manchester City just got charged. with 195 crimes. >> I saw that. >> How many was it? >> 115 guilty on all since 2009 to now. >> Okay. So they've been doing a 17-year. investigation and they found 115. different uh things that they were not. allowed to do. >> Yeah. They basically were hiding $950. million and paying players off the.
books. Uh, Pep Guardiola also left at. the end of last season, so. >> he knew. >> Yeah. And everything went to [ __ ] huh? When did he take the job? >> Interesting. >> Pep. >> Yeah. >> Uh, after 2009 was when Man City really. started spending, but I think he was. there for 5 years. >> So, he leaves he gets there in 2021. 2020. cuz So, this happened before Pep got. there because the way Gumpy was spinning. it, you know, and I think he likes Pep, right? Don't you like Pep? >> Yeah, I'm a big fan. He said they paid.
Pep quite an honor to wait until he left. to kind of drop this on him. Is that. real? Like they just waited for Pep to. leave before they dropped it? Because. Manchester City's own owners. artificially inflated the club's. commercial revenue by $830 million. between 2009 and 2018. The independent. commission found during the Premier. League hearing into the 115 charges for. serious financial breaches. The Abu. Dhabi owned club were found guilty of. all 115 charges by the commission with.
Premier League CEO Richard Masters. They. say Dick Masters. >> that Dick Masters doesn't [ __ ] around. >> He's going to [ __ ]. >> Yeah. >> And he did saying City systematically. broke Premier League's rules for nearly. a decade. >> Not cheating. You're not trying. >> And there's they usually these get. dragged out because of appeals. The. Premier League has said you got three. days to appeal. Like this is getting. done. So basically the EFL who runs the. leagues after the Premier League, they. own them all. They're going to stand. with the Premier League. So if Man City.
get kicked out of the Prem, they're not. going to those lower leagues. They're. going straight to the fifth division. >> See you later, brother. Aren't you a Man. City fan? >> I am. >> You guys have been cheating all the. time. >> I I just I You mentioned Pep. That's. That's when I started to really like. them because they there was an all or. nothing. >> Oh, they were hiding money with that. one. >> On prime in it was 2020. It was co I was. stuck in my house. I watched that. I was. like, "This guy's electric." And then. all of a sudden they got this de Bruyne. guy. They got this Holland guy. They got. I mean they they're unbelievable. They're unbelievable.
>> Now, is my skip safe? Gump. >> Uh he'll be fine, but he was there for. some of it. So, you know, there's only. one gaffer who's really clean in this. who's good and that's Jurgen club, Liverpool legend. Of course. >> Of course. Well, Ponchina, too. >> Yeah. Punch punch too. Mo Ponch actually. is probably owned owed some medals from. when he coached at Tottenham. >> No doubt. That's what I've been saying. >> Exactly. So he's going to be motivated. to win the Gold Cup and then the Flower. Cup and then the World Cup. >> That's right. >> Let's get to a break on the other side. We'll wrap up all the headlines. We. won't we'll dump all that. >> Okay. Please do cuz you know that was.
just kind of like hey we got a bunch of. other stuff going on like why the [ __ ]. would I give I would care about soccer. right now? But I don't mean that. >> We beat the Chicago Fire last night. >> That's who we played. It was Chile. But. Chi, I saw. >> Oh, well, same [ __ ] difference. Chile, I assume, sucks at soccer. >> They do. >> Yeah. >> Do we know that? >> No. No. Not. >> We don't ever play a team that's any. good. And when we do, we get our asses. killed. So, >> did they make the World Cup? >> I don't think so.
>> This room that we're in right now, >> that's what I'm saying. >> Not going to get that answer. >> You're probably right. >> I don't believe Chile was there. >> I remember. >> Neither was Italy. >> That's a good point. >> Yeah. Oh, we know they suck, too. >> USA soccer's young and looks like they. got dogs across the board. And I think. there's a chance we get Lou Messi next. World Cup, right? Is is that still on. the table, Gumpy? >> He's got his last match coming up with. Argentina. He's retiring from. international soccer. >> From Argentina International cuz Tim Ree. did. >> He said, "You know what? I'm going to. follow Remo's lead here.".
>> Remo got a big sendoff over there in St. Louis. >> He did. >> Happy for him. He got a chance to meet. him. He had a lot of pressure on his. shoulders. >> He did. >> Great on him. And he never had a chance. We should have known that. >> Never. All right, we'll dump all that. No more. soccer talk. >> Okay. Thank [ __ ]. >> You sure? >> AJ, if you have anything to say, maybe. >> No, I was hoping it'd become a daily seg. for sure. >> Yum has been. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. See, and that's the. other difference. Like, they have. 17-year-olds in other countries who are. playing at the highest level, dominating.
in the World Cup, and our 17-year-olds. just playing. It gets [ __ ] chilly. Like, it's just hard to get excited. hasn't lost in 172 days. >> against the New England Revs, too. >> Oh, that's a good program. >> Lamin Yamal has not lost in 172 days. >> Yeah, with Barcelona and Spain, the kid. is unstoppable. >> And he's how tall? >> Like he would be a D end if he was born. in America or a wide receiver. >> I don't know how tall. Is he that big? >> He's not that tall. >> He don't look mean, is he? >> I think he's tall.
>> I thought he was like a hair over Messi. >> No, from my understanding, I think he is. taller. >> I would have thought like six footish. >> 510. >> Never mind. And he's around a bunch of. small guys. Jeez, I thought he was tall. cuz I see him cook little fellas. >> Can he get them [ __ ] braces off? >> He's 12 years old. >> Almost. He's still in high school. He's. still in high school. >> I don't guys [ __ ] making $80 million. a year. Just get all new teeth. I'm. tired of seeing his [ __ ] braces. I'm. tired of it. >> He's trying to get figured out.
>> I guess. >> you're not going to see him for another. three years. >> God willing. Next World Cup's going to all be on at 2. and 3:00 a.m., too. So, >> Oh, yeah. You're right. So, it'll be. it'll be seven years. >> Let's go. And then Oh, no. Then it comes. back to here. So, >> where' it go? >> Where's it at? It's in Italy next time. Portugal. >> Portugal and Spain. And then, I believe. it comes back to the US. Weren't they. flipping that around because it was so. good this year? >> They were trying to do a switch a roof. >> Yeah. The head though. Remember, there. was a lot of. >> [ __ ] big corrupt bastard. >> All infantino.
>> I mean, >> he's still on the hot seat. That that. song is not over. Aren't they talking. about death penalty for him? >> I don't like business-wise corruption. >> No, like death by firing squad. >> No, I think they are talking business. business. They're talking. Yeah. Never. be seen again. >> Misconstrued there. >> Yeah, but I think he's made a lot of. deals I think for future times when he's. not the head of FIFA. >> I believe so. >> I think those are is what they're saying. alleging. >> How's the whole Dodgers thing going? Has. that guy found the money yet? Remember. that whole thing was taking place? >> I don't think I think they're just going. to let that go. That kind of is what it.
seems like. Just like no one cares. So. the government. >> unless the Dodgers win the World Series. this year, then they'll be like, "Wait a. minute. This [ __ ] guy can't do this.". >> So the government the government said. all good, bro. Way to build a super team. out in LA. >> I think so. I think they're just like, "Hey, cut us a check from what you got.". Like. >> Bruce, what's the update on that entire. thing? The government says it's all good. for 15, 16, 17, 20 billion, whatever it. was that he owed by the end of the year. Remember this? >> Yep. >> Yeah. So he had to liquidate by the end. of the year, and that's why people. thought he might have to sell the Dodges.
to get there. Um, we'll see if he does, but I I do I do not think that the um. that the charges have been dropped or. that everything's on the up and up. >> He has sold his F1 team, which we know. is a big deal. >> Which team? >> Front Office Sports is reporting that. Cadillac F1 based here in Indianapolis, Indiana, and has zero points after 15. races. Mark Walter. >> continues to sell off his sports empire. amid a federal fraud investigation. And. if he can't find a top 10 finish with. the remaining races, Cadillac would. become the first team since 2021 to.
finish without points. >> Sounds like the [ __ ] movie. >> It does a little bit. >> Here comes Brad. >> You need Sunny. >> Zero points. This is Is this like. linebacker 42 plays, zero stats type. stuff? >> Um, no. It's tough league. It's I mean, >> you're just starting outside the top 10, I would assume, every race. Is that why? >> Yeah. They're starting in the back of. the grid. >> and then you can't pass. >> You're not Yeah, it's single file. So, yeah. What do you feel? >> It's not single foul.
It's tough. >> Oh, he's going to pit. Me, too. >> That's not it. >> There's a couple. And then. that's what happens, right? >> Nope. Not even close. >> That was a full race, right? I think the. last race finish it was like point I. don't know hundth of a second. >> Oh, that's too close. >> They're racing. They're rubbing and. racing.
>> Way to go. That's what they say. Remember old buddy was supposed to just. let that other guy win. >> Oh yeah. >> Yeah. >> [ __ ] that. No. >> No. >> Hey, remember do the right thing here. >> Yep. [ __ ] you. >> What? What? What accent was that? >> It was It was a mixture of. >> F1 accent. >> There's like a Balkan regionish.
>> English. Yep. >> Spanish. Yep. Italian. >> I think you could have found Russian in. there if you were looking for it. >> Check. >> Bingo. Another another. heard. >> Soviet descent. Yep. How's everything going over there? I. haven't heard much. Hope everybody's all. right. All right, let's get to a break. Remember, football season is happening. >> That's right. >> We are for no cause, no cause, foreign. or domestic. That hasn't really worked. out. >> No. >> Maybe you should start getting for more. causes. >> Yeah. >> LA. Are there any more causes?
>> H. >> LA covers all the causes. >> They've got plenty going on over there. >> I agree. But Jim Harbaugh said he's for. no causes, foreign or domestic, other. than the Los Angeles Chargers. >> I'm starting to think Harbaugh. Actually, I won't say that. >> All right, let's get to a break. >> I had Look at you. >> I'm happy you had a little restraint. >> Goes for the putter throw, restrains. himself. >> Exactly. >> Comes on the program. >> Friend of the program. >> Friend of the program.
>> Terrible start. >> Good pizza. >> Great. >> Great pizza. Maybe too good. >> Too much pizza. Too much ice cream. Too. much pizza. >> Too much golf sim. >> Yep. Are they in the. >> We will debut our shite division on the. other side. Yes. Let's get to a break. On the other side, who are the worst. four. >> in the best league in the world? Who are. the top five offensive lines coming out. of week three of the NFL season? Where's. the situational report diving into? Is. there any good D around?
>> I'm looking around. I don't know. I don't think so. Not here. It's familiar. It's lucky. >> Only bad D today. >> No, there's good D on the film. I was. just talking about. >> Yeah, those extender pants, too. >> Extreme motion. >> Jeez, dude. >> I didn't know you guys was talking about. that [ __ ]. >> I think that might have been what that. guy was trying to tell me, actually. Now, I think. >> they're my big old dong. I need these.
>> That's what he told you. That's a great. like selling point, too. I know. I. assume you got big old dong. Here you. go. Get three pair. Hey, this is a good. salesman. >> Now that I'm looking back on it, that's. definitely what he was saying. >> I don't need those. Where are the. regular jeans? >> Yeah. Who says I don't need them? No. one's telling them I don't need them. >> True. >> Give you a little extra space where you. need it. You know, a little bit more. ballroom in the lobby. Great voice. He. was definitely telling me. maybe I don't know just looking at you. Just want to give you a heads up. There.
are options. Let that thing a little bit. more comfortable. Like me. This is what. I'm wearing right now. The only thing I. can wear these days, little extra space. down there. I didn't even think about. that angle, AJ. Man, I wish I would have. told you that on Friday when I was with. the guy so I can do a couple follow-ups. Sir, was that a compliment? Cuz I saw. you didn't say it to Gumpy. What's that. all about? >> Let's get to a break. Dumpy, that's. [ __ ] up, dude. >> I wasn't looking for jeans. >> I clearly told him that. He looked at me. and said, "If I was looking for jeans, I. had the extreme motion I would need as.
well." I appreciate that, Gumps. Gumps, what's that? 2001 collection. You got on. >> 2001. Yeah. 25th anniversary of Miami. Hurricanes winning the Natty. So, they. released all these tarps. They just came. out. Probably the last thing uh Adidas. will do with Miami cuz they signed that. deal with Nike. >> Very loud, very awesome. Walking around. the Thunderdome this morning. >> Yes. >> How do you feel about the Miami. Hurricanes? >> Big one against Clemson on Saturday. Everybody seems to think Clemson has a. chance. So, we remember what Dabo did to. us when we weren't very good. So, we'll. see how it goes in Death Valley there.
We is he. can't be doing that. Can't be saying we. >> They cut the chain, dude. >> I remember. >> They beat the [ __ ] out of us and cut the. chain in the locker room. We remember. Davo. >> Do you hear what else has happened in. that realm of things in football? >> The Houston Texans mascot Toro. >> Mhm. >> Ripped the terrible towel. >> Yeah. You just can't do that. >> And they have not won since. >> Crazy. >> Let's go to hammer. >> Is that the accurate stat there? Texans. Toro, who we are a fan of, might have. put the Houston Texans behind the.
eight-ball with football justice tone. Is that accurate with the terrible tell. terror? >> Yeah, that piece of [ __ ] made a big. mistake. Uh it's a tails all the time. It It was started in the early days with. TJ Hushmanada. They lost in the. playoffs. They lost their minds. Uh won. that playoff game. I mean, teams have. done it and they reap what they sew. every single time. But no one ever. learns, do they? >> No, they don't. Here's the video right. here of Texans Toro. Oh jeez. >> No. Yeah, you can't be doing that. >> How did he do that? >> 30 to6 too. What an ass beating. He's. probably feeling himself so much. He was.
all horned up. >> Yeah. >> Mhm. >> Yep. >> Yeah. He's all horned up right there. >> Yeah, he was. >> Did he get it fully even ripped or. >> gimmick? >> I think Did he? >> Rest in peace to me, I guess. >> Do you think he How big was the original. tear there? You think? Like the Hulkster. shirt to get. >> Well, the Hulkster never had any tear. Um, no, he did not. He was just so. goddamn strong with those 26 inch. pythons. That's what So I don't I don't. I would assume there's a pretty big rip. in there for that guy. >> If I were Toro, I wouldn't bungee jump. into the stadium or anything like that.
You don't want to test. >> I think he did, didn't he? >> So I wouldn't have. >> I think somebody did. It might have been. Toro. >> I I saw uh either Po or Bill or William. One of the whatever the Ravens mascot. name is now. >> Po. >> Edgar. Edgar Allan Poe. >> They they had three of them. Um I think. it was him. >> Not William. >> Huh? Huh? He said William, didn't he? >> Yeah, he was wrong four times in there. Classic. >> It's not true. >> Quote, "The Raven never bore." Edgar. Allan Poe.
>> Yeah. >> Is that what all three of them are named. after? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Oh, I didn't know that. >> Cool. >> Look at that. We're getting to the. bottom of it. >> Learn something every day. >> That's a bad move. Tearing the terrible. towel, though. >> Yeah. My cop sees all. yoy. Double yoy. Rest in peace. This is. how mama sound from. He was on the call for Pittsburgh. Steelers games. He was a little fella, but he had big emotion. AQ Shipley would hear him say,
"Yoy". >> and then. >> double yoy. >> and then. >> immaculate reception. >> Sound just like, >> "Wow.". >> Just closed my eyes. It took me back in. time. It was like I was at Hot Topic in. 2002. listening to Myron Cub talk about. Cordell Stewart and I think he's the. first one to call him. slash.
>> And then there was an Irish quarterback. that led the Pittsburgh Steelers all the. way to the Super Bowl. His name was. >> Neon. He [ __ ] blew it. >> Okay. All right. This is not what Myron. Cop would say. Jeez Louise. Let's get to. a break. Rest in peace, Mron Cope. Thank. you for all your inspiration all these. years. And shout out to him still. hovering above. He was the creator of. the terrible talent. >> Yep. >> To raise money. Now it's obviously a. sign of yinszers everywhere that they. are from Pittsburgh. And anytime you.
mess with it normally ends up being bad. for you cuz Myron Cope will come through. there and say. >> yoy. >> and. >> double yoy. >> Nailed it. >> Pretty good. Unbelievable. Anything you. miss IN THERE FROM HAMMER? >> NO, he No, he nailed it. It's absolutely. perfect. >> Mar did like to have a little bit of a. good time and then. cruise home. >> Oh, shout out. >> Just like times were different.
>> Yeah, back when you can do it. >> It shouldn't have, but it was certainly. much more accepted. Now we live in a. different time where everybody. understands. No, >> those were those were Pittsburgh cars. They were made of steel that wouldn't be. crushed. That's not true at all. >> They would flip though. >> Okay. So, >> all right. Let's get to a break. We love. Myron. >> Wear your seat belt. >> All right, Tone. Great job. >> Thank you, too. >> Who do you think? Nope. All right. No. No. No. No. No. Let's just get out of.
here. We'll be back on the other side. Goodbye. Yeah, if he throws you a curveball, you're in trouble. >> That breaking ball, good luck. It's It's. pretty nasty. Think. >> he's going to make contact? >> No. >> If I were you, I would just start. swinging as you're releasing. >> Do you think I make contact? >> I can barely make contact against him.
>> Fight a bingo. 25 grand. Extra base hit. 15,000. If you walk me, $10,500. donation. Strike out, $10,000. A hit is. just $10,000. Ball contact, $5,000. donation. Hit by pitch, that's an extra. $5,000. Strike is a,000 obviously. And. then every ball will be a donation by. the pitcher as well. SK said that if he. was pitching against me, throw one. behind me. >> I've had a lot of votes to get you in. the ribs. A lot of.
>> You can get in there and look at one if. you want. Get used to it. >> Is this the one you're going to put in. my ribs? Nope. You're not. Don't swing. at this one. Don't swing. All right, I. won't. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I thought. I was going to burn my feet. >> Rookie of the year. Get a little closer. >> Just got a cramp in my left chest. >> All right. No balls, no strikes. >> Yeah. Okay.
What the [ __ ] was that? What the [ __ ] was that? >> I like that you let it go though. >> Yeah, first one. >> Yeah, I like it. >> Oh, foul tip.
B. >> Oh, where'd you go? Where did you go?
>> What was that? >> That was purple. >> That was a strike. That. >> was right there. >> Hey, thank you for your donation. Kershaw's challenge is forever grateful. >> So, what was that? You just pass. >> fast pass curve. >> Oh, where'd you go? >> And what else do you have? >> I have a slider. >> [ __ ]. >> This is guy number two.
>> I number two. >> Yeah, I got a different attitude. This. guy. Okay. >> I don't like what you're doing with the. strikes, though. You're on it.
>> Oh, bad. Foul ball. You got me though there, right? >> Yeah. >> Contact. Okay. >> Yeah. I will put on my Twitter bio.
Made contact. >> What's your drone? This will be his curve, right? That's all I got right there. >> Yeah, I saw it.
>> Hey, fast ball away. All right. >> Over here, >> maybe. I mean, you never know. But I'm. going to try basketball with. it. I think I got it. I think I got it. I think I got it.
That was good. >> Did that hurt? >> Yeah. >> Thank you, dude. >> We'll count that as a single. Infield. single. >> Hey, I got a ghost runner there. He's.
fast. Overthrow first. He's on second. >> Okay. I got it.
Hey, good work, dude. That was awesome. >> I knew the curve was coming right there. >> You did? Yeah. >> How'd you know? >> Uh, just because I thought cuz I made. contact. >> Oh, yeah. You read my mind. >> All right, let's [ __ ] make a one. Yeah. >> You got it. >> You told me fast ball away. >> Yeah, I cut in a little. You got Jiren, but contact. >> like I was aiming away through a two. seamer and it's supposed to kind of run. but it kind of ran the other way. >> I didn't think about the punch out.
pitch. Like I was sitting there. I'm. like he's he's up 02. >> You're definitely going to hit me with. something. >> Oh, where'd you go? >> Catcher got you there. >> I think I got on base. >> That's an infield single. You know it. You had you had enough though. Do you. see his face? He said, "I don't know. >> I don't know about. >> that's real." He said, "Mookie's good. shorts stop from what I remember." I'll. give you one hit. Give you one hit, one. foul ball, and then uh I did catch. Does. that count? Cuz I call your foul ball.
>> The catch definitely counts as a twofer. there. >> Okay. There's a few swinging misses. >> A lot of swinging misses. >> So yeah, you just you just let me know. >> We appreciate you being a great. American. Good luck. >> Thank you. Hey, no, there's no way I'm going to be. able to throw enough strikes. >> All right. >> Thank you, dude. >> You're the best. >> That was great, man.
>> Hey, why? Let's go. >> This show stinks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. >> McAfee on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers. You. >> stop. DAMN IT. >> BE A FRIEND. Tell a friend something.
nice could change their life. Hello, beautiful people and welcome. back. >> Bruce is Zuben. He's going to talk about. that after the show. You've been doing. great. Hour three of this program begins. now. >> Football. >> And too early on the cut. I mean, Bruce. really having one there for the third. hour. Uh Bruce, you've been doing great. though. Hey. >> Hey, Bruce. >> Thank you. I was I was for shoot.
thinking as we were coming out of that. break that this is going to be the time. that I zoom in completely normal and. it's going to be fine and I just. completely [ __ ] it up again. >> It's okay. I think you're showcasing. every day, you know, that uh you're. getting better. I think you're. showcasing every day that you can be. dropped into a situation that's very. difficult and execute that. I think you. and Mitch should take that a long way in. your lives. saying, "Hey, we were tasked. with something very important in a very. important time of year for uh our entire. program, our operation, and obviously.
the families that are developing around. our entire uh business and everything. like that. But also, I think we're all. realizing in real time, Foxy's really. good at what he does.". >> Yes, he is. >> Foxy, we miss you, buddy. Hope you're. great. >> Foxy, you Foxy, >> you guys have been doing great back. there. Boys, this third hour is going to. be the best one we have. That's AJ Hawk. talks to us here at Boss Conor and Tai. Schmid 9. Your NFL vet Darius J. Butler's going to explain some good D in. a little bit. AQ Shipley is going to get. to the top five offensive lines coming. out of week three of the NFL se season. here in a matter of moments. We started. this a couple weeks ago. We didn't know.
how long it would last. It's become one. of our favorite things now to figure. out. >> It's not easy. What is the scale? What. is the judgment? Is it just off of this. week or is it over the entirety of the. season thus far? I think it's a little. bit of both. >> Rankings from the top to the bottom do. mean something. It's time ladies and. gentlemen for I don't Yeah. Jeez. Yeah. Geez Louise. This refreshes. Yeah. Okay. All right. Let's just make sure. We almost gave the. whole thing away right there. We almost. gave the entire thing away, which which. I'm very happy for. Okay. And sorry,
ladies and gentlemen, this was week two. Shike Division. Uh, if you do recall, the AFC NFC Shite Division is a division. that we have created. You can get. relegated from or promoted out of. >> You don't live in this forever unless. you are absolute shite. From the top to. the bottom, last week, this is who we. saw in the Shite division. And the. Atlanta Falcons, worst team in ball, we. thought. Miami Dolphins right behind. them. Chargers, what the hell? And then. the Buccaneers lost to the Browns. The. Browns were the worst team in the Shike. Division the week before. That meant you.
were automatically into the Shike. Division in our eyes. This week, boy, do. we have a good group. I think some folks. are going to be surprised and impressed. by this week's Shike Division. I think. some fan bases are going to say, "We. we're going to live in here forever.". probably the first team, the worst team. in the entire NFL in the AFC NFC Shike. division is Congratulations to. the Tennessee Titans. >> Wow.
>> Now, this team has been ass certainly. for a while. We love the people of. Nashville. We love the Titans uniforms. We love what Camar did for Miami. I. think we like dayball. I think we like. Salah. Feels like there's a lot to like. down there except for how they play. football. This team is the worst team in. ball. Now, their point differential. isn't the worst because they have solo. on the defensive side. So, they can at. least keep some of these games close. The Eagles could have won by a thousand. if they would have played a good. football game. Instead, it came down to. a lastminute drive. Obviously, the. Giants win in a very close one. And you.
think to yourself, well, the Titans are. in it. The Titans are in it. The Titans. are in it. But they're not because. they're the Titans, and that's why. they're at the top of the Shite division. until we see anything else. Cam Ward, they're going to be chitchatting about. him a lot, very loudly, I think, if they. uh don't start winning some games. AJ, >> yeah, I would say he needs to uh, you. know, put his foot on the gas and play. well and not just win some football. games. You know, there he definitely has. streaks where he plays well, but they. need to win some games because you're. right, like people get loud no matter. what NFL city you're in, it gets loud. around you if you're the QB and you're. not winning.
>> Cam Ward has a lot of moxy, has a lot of. personality, he uh has a lot of talent. He is a guy that we believe to. potentially be a franchise QB, but it. has not looked like that in Tennessee. And you just said what the there because. he's casual out there. He's seemingly. comfortable. You just can't be ass and. then have that happen. >> Can't be do that doing that, especially. if you're a quarterback. And look, if. you're on a [ __ ] team, you can't be. doing [ __ ] like that, putting it on. film. And that was one thing even coming. out of college. It was like sense of. urgency. That's what you need, you know, as a pro. And definitely as a. quarterback. So, yeah, you're calm, cool, and collected back there in the.
pocket, but this I think this is this. gets in the goofball behavior when you. are 0 for team. >> Yeah, but he's going to he's saying. >> now they're three and0. >> whichever close kid is cool. I mean, one. score games, there are a couple of them, but I think in his mind, he said, "I'm. just going to be me out there. The winds. will start coming. They better hope cuz. it's getting loud and they're a top the. shite division as a completely dfeeded. squad down there in Nashville, Tennessee." Speaking of, congratulations, Miami Dolphins. Okay. >> Wow.
>> Note, >> what's that? >> I put out a note. They they played all. undefeated teams. I do agree that uh. their competition and their strength of. schedule was certainly taken into. account. All undefeated teams have. beaten them, but all we've seen is them. lose. So, they are completely defeated. there in there. Let's go back to one. half of the hammer died. Cowboys Bubba. Gumpino, how do you feel about the Miami. Dolphins on the shite list once again? >> I mean, we deserve to be up there 0 and3. play another undefeated team this week. in the Vikings. So, that'll be four.
straight undefeated. But our rookies. played well. Jacob Rodriguez, we talked. about he had an interception against. Mahomes. Chris Bell was our top wide. receiver. The quarterback, Chris. Johnson, we took out of San Diego State, looks unreal. And the Proctologologist. actually looked pretty good on the Ollie. Gordon touchdown. So, things are looking. up. >> Well, they're not looking up. Actually, we lost our best player for the season, >> but the rookies are playing well. >> for the future is what Dumpy's saying. But the future with Achan would. certainly be better than without him. He. has to come back from a torn ACL.
Godspeed to him. Obviously, any season. ending injury, especially this early, is. a tough mental situation. On that note, let's remember Dolphins fans can get. promoted out of the Shike Division. That's right. Just as much as you're in. the Shike Division this week, you could. be out of it next week. Speaking of. being in it maybe forever, which we. could have never seen. The odds of this. team being in the Shike Division so. often had to be plus 250,000. >> Longest for sure. >> Congratulations to the Los Angeles. Chargers. Still finding home. Wow.
>> In the Shike Division. >> Yikes. >> AJ, how do you feel about the Chargers. being in the Shike Division? We could. have never expected this with all the. offseason hubbub, we'll say. >> Yeah. I mean, I don't know. Should we be. clapping and congratulating these teams. for being in this division? It feels. kind of weird. >> It is an accomplishment. >> It was a spattering of claps there. Not. as much kind of excitement as I could. have expected, but I mean, five. turnovers, a plus four turnover margin, and still losing a game, that's pretty. shy. I I mean that's a pretty shy thing.
to lose in spite of all statistics that. have basically been counted since the. beginning of time. So that's why the. Chargers are in the shite division. because it feels like they shouldn't be. as shy as they are, but they are super. shighty. So it almost makes him a. a shite unicorn. >> Yeah. >> And how could you have a shite division. without a shite anomaly? You know what I. mean? Con man. >> Yeah. Exactly. And to be completely. honest with you, we might we might be. crowning our shite division champions. pretty soon here because as we know the.
Charger schedule only gets tougher and. it's only going to get worse before it. gets better. I'm not so sure we are. looking at the early favorite for the. NFL Super Shite Bowl that they will. participate in. >> We will have a Shite Bowl at the end of. the season. Uh two of the teams that. have been on the Shite Division for a. while will have to win the division. title. >> We will figure out how we find the. champion of the Shite division. Who's. the absolute worst? We do know a team. snuck in here this week. >> Whoa. >> They snuck in and pretty alarming as.
well here with the amount of money. that's been paid and extensions that. have been given at pretty important. positions and how super genius they were. for a while. But it was hard to get past. what happened on Thursday night. Ladies. and gentlemen, welcome to the Shite. Division, the Green Bay Packers. >> Wow. >> Boy, >> not as much clapping this time around. AJ even refused to kind of put the hands. together. Ty, I saw you smacking your. hands a little bit. At least you're. somewhere. Is that what you're talking. about? >> Yeah, rightfully so. Well earned, you. know, well earned. They they did what.
they had to do to make sure they were. going to find themselves in the Shite. division and, you know, we'll see. Uh. they just signed three veteran. offensive linemen who weren't on teams. currently, and all three of those guys. might be starting Sunday in Tampa Bay. So, if that doesn't stamp shite right on. your forehead, I don't know what does. So, maybe things will get better. Maybe. they won't, but uh we're going to find. out pretty soon. >> Connor, a lot of conversation about. Drake May not being able to play. quarterback good. Not in the Shite. division, though. Your thoughts on these. four? Obviously worst at the top, down.
to the bottom, sneaking in with the. Packers. Your thoughts? >> Yeah, I think it just kind of displays. anybody can get it. You know, you. mentioned the Chargers were probably. 250,000 to be in the SH division. I. thought the Packers in that same boat. probably couldn't see this coming. Titans and Dolphins, hey, look, Browns. were just at the top of the SH division. Where are they? Falcons were just at the. top of the SH division. Where are they? So if you're the Titans or the Dolphins, all it takes is one week. And granted, neither of those teams have covered. once, I don't think. Actually, the. Titans covered against the Eagles. Dolphins are 0 and3 against the spread. If you just show us something, you might.
even get out of the Shite division, okay? It's not just, hey, we got to go. out there and win. Go out there and. perform. Just do something right, and. you can still have hope for your season. >> Congratulations, these four teams. All. right, >> AJ, it doesn't seem like you're as. pumped for these guys as we are. >> I mean, you just you cannot get beat by. a team that is currently in the shite. division because that will put you. square in there. >> Now, the Packers get a win. Not going to. be judged as harshly as if the Titans.
beat you. Like the Browns beat the. Bucks. Bucks ended up in the Shite. division because of that. Now, dislocated thumb for the Bucks. Will. they call the Shite Division home for a. while? I I mean. >> there's a chance. >> there's a chance any of these four teams. take up these slots for the rest of the. season and maybe we stop the strike. division because we all know who it is. but this feels like this is a little bit. of a carousel where there's teams coming. and going especially early on deep. >> Yeah, it is. It's week to week league. but we start to figure it out and I.
don't know how the Bucks didn't end up. in the Shite division this week. 0 and. three. They're starting a rookie. quarterback now. So I'm sure you guys. are favored by at least a touchdown or. two, right? not in the Shite division. this week. They play the Packers on. Sunday at home. The Packers are only. three and a half point favorites with. undrafted rookie quarterback Jaylen. Daniels at the helm. So, we'll I mean, we'll see. We'll see what happens, but. it looks like loser of that game might. find themselves a top the Shite. division. Maybe. We'll see. Who knows? >> That title belongs to the Tennessee.
Titans for at least another week. If you. got this right first, you will win a uh. signed something from the Thunderdome. is. >> could be this lacrosse ball. >> That's right. >> Is this a lacrosse ball? >> Mhm. >> Could be a lacrosse ball right here. >> Okay. >> Could be uh. >> No, I'm not going to give away Coupe. >> I'm not giving away coffee. >> Doodoo coffee. >> This is Dodo. Doodoo. Doodoo coffee. This is doodoo coffee. Remember I ate. this on the air? >> Yes. Yeah.
>> Yeah. Not that bag. You've been through. like 14 of those bags. >> I eat them all. Yeah. >> Could be this roll of tape. That's pretty good. >> That'd be a good one. There's also maybe. a flag football uh from the NFL that. could get signed in there, sent to you. >> So, if you got it right, congrats. If. you uh got it right first, you could. potentially win. Now, speaking of. getting things right first, let's dive. into something that needs to be. investigated a little bit. A man put on. a suit, took a picture, and said, "I'm. professional and classy." And he. certainly was just that. It's time for. Debut's situational report.
>> All right, Debbot. What's the sit rep on. this week? Cuz you look incredibly. professional. >> I I appreciate that. The sit rep this. week is about a superstar that came. back, made his debut. Brock Bowers out. there in Las Vegas with Kurt Cousins as. his quarterback and he's been dialing. up. So, what we're going to see is where. how do they deploy 89. Sometimes he's in. line, sometimes he doesn't slot, sometimes he's out wide. So, let's watch. right here up right now. He's top right. here. We're going to have a zone. coverage. So, middle of the field.
safety, that flat defender, Justin Reed, you're trying to come down and just play. it outside in. Read the quarterback. Break on intentions. Kind of runs into a. little traffic issue there. If you're a. receiver, you're a tight end, just find. the window, find the hole, your. quarterback will find you, get up the. field, get it easy. First down. That's. the first target we're going to have. here. He got targeted 13 times. Came. away with 10 catches. This is the next. one. Third and eight, money down. Now, you isolate him up top. Nope. Motion him. down. Get him in the stack. He's going. to be isolated oneonone with this slot. defender. This is a safety typically.
tight end safety. It's a good matchup. for the defense, especially if you have. an athletic safety. Not with Brock. Bowers. Great option right here. Eat. Create some space. Crosses his face. Converts to third down. That is an. absolute nightmare for corners, for. linebackers, for safeties. And now on. this one, you're going to see him. actually matched up with a corner. Once. again, isolated X receiver. Basically, bottom of the numbers. You got the. middle of the field safety. So, you know. you're going to have one-on-one. coverage. We're going to pause it here. Boom. You're sending five, so you only. have six in coverage. The five defenders.
are all inside the hash on the other. way. So, it's a complete isolation. You. just have a press out route with Brock. Bowers against a corner. Once again, great matchup typically week in and week. out for defenses not there. Another big. third and eight third down conversion. there. Moving on, Brock Bowers once. again isolated. Now, the Raiders, they. do their job isolating them. Pre- snap. You put four away from them to make sure. you get this isolation. Pre- snap. It's. going to be a middle of the field safety. once again. So, a one-on-one coverage. again with a quarterback. What are we. gonna run? Not a slant, not an out.
Let's go down the field and just throw a. back shoulder fade to what some people. call the best tight end in the league. Now, McBride has had that title, but. Brock Buyers, he's been a superstar. since stepping foot in Athens. You see. him now in the slot. Now, this some play. calling, some little creativity. Get the. guy open. Don't make him do the hard. work. Now, you have Jaylen Naylor. outside as the number one receiver. He's. going to clear some space. We call it. setting a pick. create a little traffic. issue there. Brock Bowers stems it up, breaks out, balls on him. You got to. fight a little bit to get across the.
goal line. Safety does the best job he. can do to try to stop him, but he does. not. So, you got an absolute superstar. returning to a team that found a way to. win two games without him. But now. getting Brock Bowers right in the fold, Clint Kubak, uh Car, not Carr, [ __ ]. Kirk Cousins has been cooking three. touchdowns every week. So, uh just. absolutely dynamic. And not only Brock. Bowers, Mayor who they paid, the other. tight end, he's been doing uh well also. 81% of their snaps. >> from that game had at least two tight. ends on the field. >> Michael right from Notre Dame, the tight.
end that got paid like 40 million or. something. He got paid a good amount of. money, I believe, which is crazy because. Brock Bowers is on there. Obviously, Kubak said, "We're going to go big. body." I love they got four on one side. Let's see. Let's just see if they'll let. you go one-on-one out here. That's all. he's doing right there is just trying to. get Brock Bowers one-on-one. Kirk. Cousins knows immediately if it's. anything like 101, we're going to this. freak that we have out here. >> Absolutely. And once again, whatever the. matchups, kind of like Grank was, Prime, Kelsey, whoever is matched up on that. guy, it's a good matchup for us. Cornerbacks obviously usually faster,
more athletic. So, typically not a good. matchup for offenses, for tight ends, but not when you have a guy like Brock. Bowers. And there's not a lot of Brock. Bowers out there obviously. What's up, AJ? >> Da just schematically there. Do you. think Brock has freedom to run whatever. the guy obviously we don't need a one. shot on me, but when the the corner as. inside leverage there? Is that why he. converted out? Would he have ran a slant. if he was head up or outside? >> That's a good question. I'm not sure. >> Yeah, he probably has the freedom just. to Hey, whatever you want to do, this. whole side is yours. But obviously him. and Kirk, maybe he gave him a little. signal. Maybe have a slant. Maybe have a.
sluggo cuz I wouldn't expect a sluggo if. I'm a corner. If I'm pressed, especially. this is more of like a off route, but. I'm pressed. The last thing I'm. expecting with a tight end, even if it. is Brock Bowers, is a Sluggo on third. and four. So, it's a great job and great. play design. And then once again, a. great catch and it was another catch he. had in here. Obviously, with 10 catches. over 100 yards, you could have had a. bunch all of them up here. But, he had a. like a outside flood that he caught. It. was unbelievable throw, unbelievable. catch on the sideline. But yeah, Brock. Bowers, man, he's always open. And I'm I.
don't know. I don't know the answer to. that, AJ, but I'm sure he has the. freedom to do his thing. >> Seemingly unguardable. That's a good. situational report right there. Baby, >> welcome back. Brock Bowers, obviously a. stud out of Georgia. Some breaking news. No welcome back to Joey Porter Jr. will. not be playing tomorrow night. >> Okay. >> Wow. >> Joey Porter Jr. is out for Thursday. night's game versus the Browns due to. his back issue. Due to his back issue. So, still got his back issue ramp up. Mike McCarthy was asked yesterday after. full participation from Joey Porter Jr. in a Thursday night game practice. leadup, uh, which is normally just a.
speedy walkthrough. Asked him if that. means we're going to see Joey Porter Jr. sooner than later. He goes, "I hope so.". It turns out it's not going to be on a. Thursday night. Let's go to Hammer Don. This was expected on a short week, Tone, or what is uh what was the conversation. around Joey Porter Jr. this week? >> Yeah, you're muted. >> Oh, no. >> Yeah, there it is. >> Yeah, you're back. You're uh you're. back, but because of a back, Joey Porter. Jr.'s not back. So, how do uh what was. the storyline about this in the Steelers.
camp? Was he really expected on a. Thursday for first game of the season? >> Uh there was hope for it. Uh there was. uh definitely a thought that he was. going to be back. Uh he was obviously. when you talk about the the walkthrough. earlier, he was listed as a full. participant. Um. I don't know if that ESPN graphic was AI. or not that we talked about yesterday. that said he was out because of. contract, but whether it's contract or. trade, I'm I'm fully in on that now. I I. don't think it's I don't think it's the. back anymore. It's definitely not the. back anymore. We all know it's not the. back. >> Well, we don't know. Obviously, this. says that it's his back and maybe he is.
just trying to get back into shape as he. didn't work out a lot of training camp. and maybe in the offseason cuz he was. hoping to get a deal done whenever he. returned once the season officially. started. He was asked if now that the. contract stuff is not going to get. settled, are you going to play? He said, "That's a question for my agents and the. people upstairs." Sounded like not the. case. He was going to be playing. Now. it's kind of rolled in, continue to roll. in. Now, the Detroit Lions and Dallas. Cowboys allegedly allegedly have. showcased a little bit of interest in. bringing in Joey Porter Jr. is they wait. for a potential trade partner. The.
Steelers, AJ, have said, "We don't. negotiate contracts during the season.". That's just kind of how it is. Now, they've broken their own rules a couple. different times now with different. things, but this seems to be one they're. not going to change precedent for. Even. though the Porter family is royalty. within the Steelers organization. >> Yeah, they are. I mean, I I can't see I. don't know. Do you see him playing for. the Steelers this year? I feel like they. find a way to move him. >> I don't know. Debo, what are your. thoughts? >> I want him I want him to go there. I. want him to finish his career there. I. want him to be a one helmet guy. it it. seems more and more unlikely as this. kind of uh plays out, but he's a very.
good corner. When you're a first year. defensive coordinator, Patrick Graham, obviously you want him out there and. then if their offense can continue. playing how they play uh last week, I. mean sky's the limit for that team. So, I would like to see Joey Porter Jr. in. that jersey. Dad, him I would but I I. don't know. Business is business. You. got to figure it out. >> Yeah. Hopefully they're able to figure. that out. Joey Porter Jr. went to the. Bengals or Joey Porter Senior went to. the Bengals. >> Dolphins. Dolphins. Dolphins. Sorry. Had. a hell of a career down there. >> Cardinals, too, right? Uh he might at. that point the Cardinals were the. Steelers of the West. He may have. finished over.
>> and then James Harrison went to. >> he had a couple coffee. >> He went to the Bengals and New England. >> Cup of coffee with New England. >> Yeah. >> Just known as Steelers forever. You. know, sometimes it doesn't work out like. that. Joey Porter Jr. is obviously a. massive piece of the secondary. You know. who else is? >> Who? >> Jaylen Ramsay. Brooke Prior, ESPN. Steelers reporter, is reporting that uh. obviously Jaylen Ramsey has a broken. thumb. >> and uh or broken wrist, sorry. It's just. going to be about seeing if I'm able to. protect it and also still be myself in a.
good enough capacity where I feel like. if I go out there, I won't be letting. any of my teammates down. I need to know. I can still play football. Broken wrist, pretty impactful uh body part for. especially the way Jaylen Ramsey plays. football. >> Yes, very. I played with a a broken. finger, broken wrist before. And if. usually for players, if you can like the. pain management, if it's just pain. management, you're going to get out. there and play like you said because. you're going to be letting your guys. down if you're not playing. But you. can't be out there being a shell of. yourself. You got to cover guys. You got. to tackle. You got to, you know, get.
hands guys hopefully create some. turnovers. How he plays, how violent he. plays. Yeah, that risk. But if you can. protect it with a cast, I'm assuming a. big a big cast and probably a boxing. glove looking type thing, I think he'll. I think five will find a way to fly. around, stay out there. >> Hopefully Jaylen plays on a Thursday. night short week after breaking a wrist. You know, all every that's all anybody. ever says on Thursday night football is. like, "Hey, you know, short week, >> get a mini buy on the back side of this. Could steal a twoe kind of rehab, especially if you have a broken wrist. Will a broken wrist heal in two weeks?
Like is there an amount of time that. that thing will heal if we were to give. him a break? Hopefully Jaylen will be. out there. Obviously we enjoy watching. him play football, but no Jaylen, no. Joey Porter Jr. >> Uhoh. >> Cleveland Browns. >> Monen scheming up plays. >> Deshawn Watson winning games in 2026. Let's go to Hammer Don Ton. He's shaking. in your boots with the stats. The. Cleveland Browns have been great against. the Steelers on Thursday Night Football. >> Yeah, they have been great against the. Steelers on Thursday Night Football. 4-0. They've won uh seven in a row uh on.
Thursday night football. Uh I think nine. in a row at home uh on Thursday night if. I if I am correct. Um they've been good, but yeah, Big Mike also great on. Thursday night. I believe he's 16 and. six. Uh the new I Jaylen's going to. play. I mean, they always do. They're. going to put a cast on it. It is a worry. against Harold Fannon, who's one of the. best young tight ends in the league. Uh. but we'll see. I mean, we'll see if. Deshawn is, you know, can continue this. incredible streak of scoring 20 points a. game and winning them. So, we'll see. The Browns are 11 and one in Thursday. night prime time game, says Tony Graci.
>> Louise, >> pretty good. >> Tony Gracie is the guy in the radio. Is. that who that is? >> That sounds right. >> Uh oh, Riz from Cleveland. >> Is that the guy who lost his mind. >> about Miles? I thought that was Riz. >> Cleveland. Good sports talk. >> Yeah, >> good sports talk place. I would love to. hear what they're saying about Mon. >> I would love to hear. They love this. guy. >> Yeah, have to. >> Backwards hat. >> Yeah, >> just way HE'S OPERATING. >> [ __ ] THAT. [ __ ] THAT. YEAH, EXACTLY. >> BROWNS ARE THIS IS THE ENERGY WE'VE. NEEDED. This is what Cleveland needs at.
this moment. Had a huge win over the. Steelers. >> on Thursday Night Football. >> Three in one. >> home puppies. >> Oh my god, >> Tone. I 16 and six. Big Mike McCarthy. though. >> Yeah. >> Little different team with Mike McCarthy. on a Thursday night, I think, is is kind. of how the stats go, right, Tone? >> Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Aaron. Aaron is part of that stat as well. I. think he's 13 and six. Uh they played a. lot of Thursday nights together, those. two, so they kind of got it done. Um but. yeah, I mean we'll see if the Browns, like I said, scoring 21 and 23 against.
the Panthers and Bucks. It will we will. get it done. >> That was quite backhanded. >> Yeah, you you heard it there. >> Yeah, I heard it. >> Yeah, he thinks the Browns is still the. bronze. >> Yeah, that's what. >> I don't disagree. >> Oh, really? You think the Bronze is the. Browns, too? >> Whole new energy over there. Yeah, I I. don't think their offense can play with. good teams. I really don't. I think. their defense is very good and that's. what's kept them in games. >> Okay, let's talk about offenses that are. very good. Ladies and gentlemen, it's. time for top five. Top five, top five.
offensive lines coming out of week three. of the NFL season in the trenches with. AQ Shipley. >> Baby AQ. >> AQ. Every single week, you get a chance. to tell us who the top five performing. offensive lines were. Congratulations to. the number 50 line, Jacksonville. Jaguars. >> Hey, >> how come then? And congrats to the team. down in Duvall. >> Yeah, they're playing really good. football. It starts with their. quarterback, but it also starts up. front. 137 yards rushing also in at left. guard. They got a rookie out of Oregon,
third round pick, value pick. You get a. starter in the third round. Emanuel. Pregnon has been fantastic. Big powerful. turkey there at left guard. I mean, he's. playing incredible look. He puts his guy. on the ground. This is a split zone. right here. Massive block coming up from. Brettton Strange coming back and then. Robert Hany one-on-one with Spelain. There's the big You're going to wash. everything front side. You're going to. cut the backside. Hy on the linebacker, Strange on the safety. And then you just. get this toss, bend back, walk in the. end zone. >> Just a big gaping.
hole. >> They got to go to the line there, huh? Let's go to the number four performing. offensive line. San Francisco 49ers. >> Yeah, the 49ers were incredible this. week. I got to watch it firsthand and. they were I mean they were literally. blocking the Cardinals defensive line. like it was seven on seven. Perie had. all the time in the world. No pressure. whatsoever. But whenever you look at. this group, Trent Williams is out right. now. They get Varian Lowend. Trent. Williams has a a little stinger. But. we're going to look at the center, the. right guard to right tackle. Brendle. Pony McKivvich. They do a great job on.
this front side combo. Let's let's look. at the spotlight right here on Debo. Samuel. Watch him fake as he's going to. fake the crack to get this the defensive. end to widen. helps his block for the. tight end Luke Ferrell. You get. McKivvitz and look at that hole, boys. If you want Christian McCaffrey running. downhill, getting one-on-one with a. safety, that's exactly how you do it. They make it easy for the boys up front. >> So, you're telling me that the Niners. without Trent were still able to create. some big gaping holes. >> Shanahan's in his bag this year and.
Debo's all the way back. >> Yeah, Debo looks incredible. He really. does. Zero catches for 80 yards. I mean, what a statline. I mean, incredible on. the hook and ladder. But right there, they utilized him in so many different. ways. They put him in a tailback. They. got him blocking. Obviously, if you're. going to play in this system, you got to. block on the edge. He does a great job. faking and then still getting up on his. guy. But this offensive line with Chris. Fster as the offensive line coach, I. mean, they are so good with Trent. Williams, without Trent Williams. >> Great offensive line coach. >> Has to be. >> Great. Definitely has to be number three. offensive line we saw on Monday night,
the Chicago Bears. >> Congratulations to the Chicago Bears and. Ben Johnson. Yeah, what a performance by. them. Obviously, Ben Johnson was. fantastic. He did not hold back his play. cone as you see. Got Colston Lovelin. coming in motion. You're going to steal. plus one on this crack toss. Let's look. at the defensive end right here. You're. going to see somebody come in. There's. the crack. There it is. Then you got. Colston Lovelin and Big Darnell right. out in space. They get their blocks. And. then look at the left tackle. Braxton. Jones. He gets the seal block. Boom. Cut.
back. That's that's what creates the. home run. That backside block always. gives you that extra push. >> Swift with the vision and obviously the. explosion to be able to accomplish that. They got a real problem with that. two-headed monster AJ Hawk. >> Yeah. How do you stop him? Obviously. Case Keenan was rolling, but yeah, their. run game wasn't even that good this. game, I feel like. And the Bears still. found a way. >> Yeah, the run game I mean barely got. going. Swift did get going a bit, >> but it was case. >> that picture right there. That picture. was paused like they were all like Yeah. They were all in great position.
downfield like man. Yeah, line has been. rolling. >> It It is It's poetry in motion when you. watch them because everybody switches. assignments. They get the crack block. They get this guy replacing that guy. And then obviously the way that the. offensive line blocks. But hey, news. flash guys, invest in your offensive. line and you're going to become a good. football team. >> Or just, you know, Ben Johnson scheme. everything up to be magical and you're. going to become a good football team. What a coach. What a time. Case Keenum, what a run. Good for him. Speaking of. run, it might be a new one. Congratulations to the number two.
performing offensive line coming out of. week three of the NFL season. Listen to. this Pittsburgh Steelers. Tony Tony, congrats Big Nikki Skates. back there. Congratulations. And to all. Yinszers fans, I think you're excited to. hear about this. >> Yeah, listen, I was super pumped to turn. on this film and obviously it started. with the first play of the game. We. talked about it earlier on on the. takeaway and listen, it starts up front. They replace the right side of their. offensive line. Check this out. You get. the rookie Noacowski, the fullback out.
of Indiana, is going to go in motion. We. call this escort motion. He's going to. help big Darnell Wright. All all 350 lbs. at tight end right there. He's going to. bang his guy out to help Darnell Wright. as he climbs to the next level. Look at. the combo block between Mason McCormack. and Troy Batanu. They do a great job. getting on their guys. And then boom, Jaylen Warren. What a day. 17 for 127. And he had a big run called back. Jaylen. Warren's always been the most explosive. running back they've had for like five. years now. It feels like every time he. gets the ball, something magical.
happens. It feels like Mike McCarthy is. investing in him being number one. running back. I also love the fact that. >> Noacowski. >> is double teaming with. >> Did I What did I say? Did I say Darnell. right? >> Yeah. >> Darnell Washington. >> Yeah, I got I got the bear still on my mind. I. apologize. >> Mount Washington. He obviously gets the. ball out in space, runs some people. over, and is a blocking machine, an. extension of left tackle. They moved and. changed the entire right side of the. line. You like that move, it sounds. like. >> I I love that move. Listen, Brock.
Hoffman comes over from the Dallas. Cowboys. He was fantastic. And I'm going. to tell you what, Max. >> the uh there it is. It was unbelievable. First play of the game, he chops the guy. down, gets a knockdown, plays with. extension. He's long. He is raw. He's. not played a ton of football. He's only. going to get better every single week. But he was great. They were big fans of. his whenever we walked around the. building. Do you remember that tone when. we were walking around the facility on. uh draft day whenever we were trying to. figure out who the hell the Steelers. were going to take? You know who the. Steelers are going to take. We're trying. to get a little inside information. On.
the way out to Bill Cower, his name was. dropped like, "Hey, we really like we. worked him out. He's a good guy. He's. got a good work ethic. He's got. everything you need." And then later. whenever the draft happened, a lot of. people were like, "Wow, the Steelers are. drafted somebody. Tony, you want to rate. the bat?" They're like, "No, they love. him in the building." He gets his first. chance to shine for you guys. seems like. it's much better now than it was. >> Yeah, we were talking uh on that draft. night, we were like talking about O. lineman and stuff like that cuz there. was a good indicator that they were. probably going to go with the offensive. line and we did not bring him up and. they brought him up to us. So, yes, not.
a surprise that they went there. Obviously, use a first round pick on. him. Use a first round pick on Troy. Fatano who's the left tackle now. Use a. second round pick on Zack Frasier. And. you just talked about investing in the. offensive line. McCormack was a third or. fourth round pick there um out of South. Dakota State. So yeah, they've invested. in the offensive line. They replaced the. two on the right side and it literally. changed everything last week and I. believe this is the first time that the. Steelers have been in the trenches. So. it's basically winning the Super Bowl. >> Yeah, definitely won a Super Bowl in the. trenches, especially with uh how this.
season is seemingly looking. If you have. a good line, you're probably going to. win a bunch of games. If you don't have. a line, feels like you're probably. [ __ ] Now, the number one offensive. line coming out of week three of the NFL. season in the trenches with AQ Shipley, the Atlanta Falcons. >> Wow. >> Congratulations down there in Georgia. B. John Robinson's O line's going crazy. >> He was incredible. Rushes for over 190. yards. They had 242 yards rushing as a. team. But again, this is how you go from.
last to first. [ __ ] to the best. And. right here, we always start with Chris. Lindstöm. He is the guy. We get the. motion. We're going to We're going to. run this little zone play. This is. incredible to watch when you see this. Watch Drake London as he goes. You get. the motion. He's going to replace. There. it is. Now, you just gain plus one on. the front side. Chris Lindstöm gets his. head front side. Watch him just take his. backside arm. And again, you're going to. see the center come in here and get the. nice block on Zire Franklin. But again,
Chris Lindstöm backside hand is going to. just torque. I'm going to say it right. this week. Torque. get his left hand and. boom, buries him down and give him the. whole Ryan Nusel the center does a great. job backside between Berseron and uh. Jake Matthews was unbelievable too but. they have such a good offensive line and. this is how you go from being the worst. team to the best team very quickly. You. start with your offensive line, you get. the run game going and it starts with. Chris Lindström. He's been the guy. He's. $100 million guard, really good player. And then Bejian Robinson, you give him. one cut and he can go.
>> $100 million guard. That's a lot of. money for the interior of the offensive. line. Obviously, it's paying off for. Kevin Stfansky. Uh, Debbuts, they were. the worst team in ball in your Shike. Division a week ago. To what AQ's point. is, if you can block and you got Bejian. behind you, it feels like good things. are going to happen for the Falcons. >> Absolutely. Always starts in the. trenches. Getting their quarterback back. was was a big deal as well. You can get. uh let those special players be special. But Bjan, I mean, just watching it looks. so effortless, so smooth. Like his. vision, his ability to cut back. Obviously, Drake London on the outside.
as well. But yeah, when you when you. have a superstar stud like seven back. there, you just get the ball, you get. the trenches blocked for him and just. feed the stud. >> Hey, Pennics, by the way. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Panics got his ropes. >> How about it? >> Well, with Bejon, >> what happens AJ with a good run game? >> What do you mean? Linebackers can get. sucked up sometimes for play action. I. know, right? >> Yeah. And Pennocks can layer. >> Mhm. >> Like that. He can layer. So that that is. a mass I don't know what drill they do. at the combine at these workouts, but. with the way this is all heading with. all these different offenses that try to.
get the run game, establish run game, which is all the good offenses right now. and everybody's trying to mimic them. The play action is all of a sudden all. the way back. If a quarterback can get. it over the linebacker in front of the. safety and on the opposite side of the. corner can make 70 million a year. Yeah. >> In the NFL right now. That that is just. literally how it goes. If you can't get. that thing to turn over, you got no. shot. >> Don't matter if you got a rocket arm, like you got a rocket arm, you got to be. able to make those throws. >> You got to be able to get that thing up. and down very quickly. That thing has to.
right in there. And tight ends, you. know, there's two of them, three of them. on the field. Austin Hooper right there. scoring a touchdown. Two or three of. them on the field for every single team. Obviously, that helps with the blocking. cuz they're bigger bodies. >> They're an extension of the offensive. line, >> but they're going to feast. I mean, tight ends are about to have more yards. than they've had ever since the tight. end evolution has happened because it's. been a lot of like sprint out air raid. type offenses with this new tight end. kind of evolution has taken place. Now. with the regain of play action [ __ ]. that's like that's where the actual.
>> that is just I mean. >> there's literally a big gaping hole. >> for tight ends to just kind of sit it. literally right over AJ Hawk and other. linebackers dumb heads just right behind. them right and there's nothing they can. do about it. There's literally nothing. >> I'm worried about Bejan running. overhead. I got to get downhill and take. that double team off my D lineman. >> That's that's got to be a good thing to. know. All the tight ends are at that. tight end. Are you starting to notice a. little bit of a trend? Yeah, we're wide. ass open again. Yeah, it hasn't been. like this. Normally, they've had had to.
work. Now, it's like they're going to be. open. And congratulations to the Atlanta. Falcons. >> The defense has got to try to match cuz. defense is kind of just uh just kept. getting smaller and smaller, the. backers, the the Nicholls. So, Nicholls. basically became a starters for most. team. But now you got to going go back. old school kind of AJ Hawk days where. bigger linebackers on the field to match. these cuz that's that. >> Raiders 81% of the time you going out. there with multiple tight ends. Like. that's crazy. >> So that means smaller body to cover but. smaller body can't cover big body like.
Brock Bowers. And also if Brock Powers. comes in is blocking you got smaller. body just getting railroaded. >> trying to fill a B gap. >> And this is why philosophies have come. back to pound in the rock potentially. Yep. Did the Philadelphia Eagles. catapult this type of style back into. the world whenever they won? >> I mean, I'm sure they had something to. do with it. >> They had a big They had a big say in the. run game, but I'm telling you, McVey is. the one who started all this three tight. end stuff. I mean, the 13 personnel. stuff, it started with the year before. where none of the tight ends could block. and everybody was doing the 60 line. stuff, right? Remember that? Then it.
went to the 13 personnel and where. they've gotten really good at and that's. what every single one of these teams are. doing. Half the league's got some. extension or some pedigree of Shanahan. McVeyy's world. And so what they've done. a good job of is back in the day, AJ, you remember that you would have a tight. end on a D end and they would just get. pressed four yards in the back field. Not anymore. They're doing such a good. job of getting these guys running starts. so that now they have a running start to. go run their head into Khalil Mack. They. get them in motion and they block. everybody down. Then they get a kick out. as opposed to putting them on the line. So you're getting to the you're getting.
to the play the exact same way, but. you're getting a head start for these. guys. Can you tell me about Big Mike. sending Scronic through the line and. then uh who else did it uh the week. before? Somebody else did. >> the CG gap insert stuff. >> The Bears did it for a touchdown too. >> They sent two through one through there. McVey McVey. is the one who kind of started it. Same. thing having the receivers block with. Puka. Make it look like you're running. duo because whenever you run duo that. wide receiver has to motion in. They. call that whatever Z find or whatever. He has to motion in and then take care.
of the safety. Well, they make it look. like that. oath to the defense. It looks. like, oh, he's just going to block the. safety. They're going to run duo. And. then he runs the seven route on the play. action. >> God. >> Yeah. >> Such a There always is so much. deception. >> Yeah. >> Isn't it deceptively? Everything's a. deception. That's why if you're swinging. that good D, >> you should be proud of yourself. You. know what I mean, AJ? >> I know. I tell you what, though. If. you're a defender and you see Puka. inserting in the B or C gap, someone's.
got to knock him down. Don't let him get. to that seven. >> Yeah, big. We need a big mitt from a D. lineman. Excuse. Get over here. Even. though they're obviously held up on. somebody else. Need them to see it. Clos. line. JBL. >> Tackle him. You can tackle him. >> Yeah, you're right. Maybe leg like. they're doing. >> to Dexter Lawrence. >> Have you seen a chip like that on Dex? >> I've never seen I've never seen it on a. nose guard ever in my life. Like I've I. I we were talking about it with some of. the O line guys that I talked to on. Monday and Tuesday and it's like okay I.
remember it through the B gap on three. techniques and Aaron Donnold or Gerald. McCoy when he was doing it right like. and you got these really good three. techs. I've never seen it through the A. gap. That was the first time ever. >> I like big Mike McCarthy saying, "Hey. Ducks, got a lot of respect for you. This is how much respect I have for. you." Actually, we're going to take our. 6'7, 330 lb tight end. He's going to be. lined up at fullback and uh he's just. the only thing he's doing is trying to. just like hurt you right now. That is. all he's trying to do. Dexi still eats. in there somehow though. >> Send a message. Yeah, he gets a little.
pressure late. But again, we're sending. a message. We're going to we're going to. let him feel it on the first play of the. game. >> I like this out of Big Mike. I I like. that a lot actually now that you said. it's never happened before. I like the. innovation of ball that's kind of. happening right in front of us because. there's so many analytics and people. that have just been addicted to ball. their entire lives. Yeah, we got you, Zack. Yeah, go ahead and let let Dexi. think he's one-on-one. Tell him, "Oh, he's got to be dancing. Look how much. room." Guard shooting out, tackle. shooting out. Dexter Lawrence thinks. this is going to be the easiest day in. the history of ball for him off that.
snap. >> Yeah. >> Holy [ __ ] They're going one-on-one with. me with the center. I'm about to just. >> eat today. >> Yeah. >> Gets around there and then boom. What. the [ __ ] was that? Look over at Big. Mike. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Mhm. >> All day, guys. He's coming in at you, bud. That's how this is going to be. Uh, I like where the Bengals are at. >> Very good. >> Love where the Steelers are at, but I. only like a team. if they got good D. >> Okay. >> Can win in the trenches. >> That's right.
>> But inevitably, defense wins. championships. >> Mhm. >> Who's the D that could pound its way to. a championship title? Whose D can be the. biggest and baddest of them all? Mhm. >> Who's got good D that needs to be. spotlighted today by Dbut? Everything DB. good D. >> We'll start with Buffalo. Leonard's D. >> Buffalo D. >> Yeah, we're going to start with Buffalo. And listen, we you talked about. deception. Usually a lot of these. interceptions, they start with. deception, right? You talking about.
showing middle close, rotates the middle. open, showing middle open, rotate the. middle close, whatever it is. This ain't. that much deception. And I think Brady, I think he was catching some slack for. whatever reason, calling this a meatball. sub, I believe this pick right here. But. you got CJ GJ just sitting in the middle. of the field, just eyeing the. quarterback post safety. All the. receivers down here kind of in a tight. split. So you don't have that much space. if you're going to run to that middle of. the field. Usually that just eliminates. that route pre- snap. Nope, not for. Justin Herbert. Don't know what he's. seeing. Don't know what he's feeling,
but he threw the ball right between the. tools for CJ GJ. We talk about all the. time, you got to catch the ones they. throw to you. He absolutely did. Just. once again, the receiver, you're not as. that post safety. This is like a a a. practice rep, a a script for success. type things. Like, you never see this. from quarterbacks, especially. quarterbacks of Justin Herbert's. caliber. So, just too easy of an. interception for CJ GJ. >> Fourth quarter, that's tough. >> Oh, that's clutch. Three-point game at. that point. Third down, >> man. >> CJ GJ was brought in for a little bit of. sauce on the defensive side. Instead,
getting huge turnovers. Justin Herbert. and this uh Chargers offense broken or. is this just great D all over their. fans? >> Uh I mean it's broken right now and he. just doesn't doesn't look confident. It. doesn't look confident at all. Same. thing with Drake May. Just you don't see. the confidence. You don't see the. conviction as Dan always says and like. this is like day one stuff. I don't care. who's coach. I don't care what like. you're not throwing that into a post. safety with no other threats out there. Nothing occupying him. So too easy. Too. easy of a pick for CJ GJ. Herbert. McDaniel. They got to figure it out and.
they got it figured out quick. >> Who else had good D? >> The next one. >> Just talking about. >> putting the D and D on there. >> So, it all comes down to communication, especially down here in this goal line. area. Things happen very, very quickly. So, up there, hey, we got three guys. We're trying to cover these three guys. But, we see the play action in the. sprint. And a lot of times, it's that. flat defender that gets beat that gets. out leveraged. It's going to be the. running back. The running back is going. to jump in here late and get to the. flat. But the Jaguars do a great job.
communicating this. You see all the. verbal and nonverbal communication. So. when you pause it here, everybody's. matched up. He's trying to get to the. flat. Nope. Have leverage on him. And. now Chisum. Chisum has to run the seven. route. Uh we always talk about sprint. out. So the quarterback has an option to. run. You can throw that flat. The seven. is the last option or that crosser. backside. Drake May tries to throw back. across his body. Travis Hunter. Echis. Chisum. Eftton. Chism. >> That's a very good match up for the. Jacksonville Jaguars. I would take that.
10 out of 10. He throws it. Travis. Hunter got his first interception. Not. sure if he ever got this football back. The real football at least, but big time. big time play. >> I love that yellow jacket uh at any. security acting like he has any say in. anything at that time. I I just people's. minds. making themselves believe they are. something that they're certainly not. Unbelievable. Happy that the lads all. want to bat for Travis and also like the.
fact that Travis Hunter playing on both. sides of the ball, you know, with the. package able to This takes a lot of work. to be able to communicate all this, right? Isn't this a lot of chemistry? >> Absolutely. This is why you don't see a. lot of guys playing both ways. This is. why you don't see anybody playing both. ways because this is meeting time. is. communication and a lot of times. defensively it's nonverbal and verbal. communication. A lot of time you can't. hear each other. So you just rewind it. back to right before the snap you'll see. I believe it's 29 he's pointing that's. probably like a sky call. I'm not sure. what the call is but that's letting them. know a little bit more if that's letting.
them know even if you can't hear me this. signal you know what this signal means. So that communication is very very key. and it's things happen so fast. especially down here. Going to the offensive side once again. You're down 11. You're in scoring range. It's third and two. Take the points. Take the field. Maybe even go for it. Fourth and two. Uh just throw this away. You cannot throw this back across your. body big time. See you getting pressure. in your face. Got to make better. decisions. Drake May. >> con man. He was supposed to be wide ass. open. They weren't supposed to be on the. same page like they were.
>> Who who was supposed to be wide ass open. on this? >> Everybody over there. >> Flat corner cross route with M. Hollands. blocking on the edge. I mean, the the. worst part about this is last year the. red zone offense was abysmal. They were. very good team, but no matter what, if. there's one thing you could point to. like, hey, this needs to be better, it. would be their red zone goal to go. offense. Where's Romeo Dobs? Paid him. $60 million. He's not on the field. That's weird. Uh, and then where the. hell is Hunter Henry? Hunter Henry's. running backside. Are we running a. screen on the goal line? It's just it's. madness. It is what it is. End of the.
day, got to throw it away. Either take. the points. He can't throw an. interception for sure, but still just. dog [ __ ] offense. >> Yeah, the Patriots fans aren't pumped. about their offense. I assume he'll get. out of it and they'll figure it out. >> I assume I I would bet on that before I. bet on Yeah, we're going to go four and. 13. >> Well, I hope that doesn't happen for. you. >> I hope it doesn't happen either. Bills. this weekend. >> It's a tough start to the season. One. and three was always 0 and4 was worst. case scenario. One and three was a. possibility. That's why I'm not hitting.
the panic button at the end of. September. >> All right, I respect it. I never heard. that out of your mouth about the one. >> We did a breakdown and hammered Don. I. mean, when you go Seattle raised the. banner, Pittsburgh at home, that was one. you got to get. At Jags, that was a hey, how do the Jags look early? They've. looked great. And then at Buffalo, there. was uh it was it was a possibility. >> Got to go now, though. >> Yeah, I'd say. Who else has some good DD. buzz? >> The New York Football Giants. Yeah, up.
there in that Northeast. Look, you just. got to find a way to get a game. And. Javon Holland, even in their loss, he. has been playing some tremendous, tremendous football. But here's a. rookie, Arville Reese. So, this is kind. of going to be both of these guys have a. big impact on this play. Cam Ward once. again, his first down here. The game is. in the balance. You're down five. You. can't make this play. Arville Reese does. a great job pointing and passing off. that crosser and basically becomes the. spy or the lowhole defender. So, he's. chasing Cam Ward. Cam Ward knows he's. not going to beat him to the boundary or. to the end zone. So Cam makes a terrible.
decision here and Javon Holland takes. full advantage of it. He's back there. once again in post safety. You're just. reading intentions. You're reading. routes. You're feeling it. He breaks the. pocket. Just stay in the window. Stay in. the window. Get in the window. Get a. pick. Get on the knee. Get the hell out. of there with a win. So a big time play. by by Javon Holland. He's been making. them with punch outs, with picks. He's. been tremendous this year. >> First and seven here. >> First and seven. You like five-point. game. >> 24 seconds left. >> Yeah. This is just almost as bad as Dak. Prescott throwing the ball away so fast. out the corner of the end zone there.
whenever they caught a timeout with 14. Not that Dak Prescott is on the same. here. Dak Prescott has had a lot of. success in the NFL, but this reminds me. of the What was the show that followed. Cam Ward last year? Was a quarterback. >> Quarterback. >> Yeah. >> Quarterback. He tells Callahan, "Okay, hey, let's go for it. I won't take a. sack. You know, I understand what we're. doing. Let me throw this thing. Let me. throw this thing.". >> Mhm. >> Takes a sack. Gets out of field goal. range. I think does turnover. The other. team wins. you know, he just kind of. moves along. It's like he's a young guy. He'll learn his lesson. It's like first. and seven right now. You're winning.
this. You can win. You should win this. game. You're going to win this game. >> Salah and Dore are like, man, our team's. ass, but we got a chance to come in here. in a noraster and beat the New York. Football Giants who also have a backup. quarterback and have played like last. year. We can get out of the shite. division and instead it's just like he. might be able to run that in. >> Yeah. No, he so Arville, he would definitely. catch him before he got to the end zone, but he can run out of bounds and. probably pick up three or four yards, which is much I mean, anything is better. than this. You look at all all three of. these interceptions so far. Justin. Herbert, you're in striking distance. It's a one possession game. Drake May,
you're in striking distance. And then. here, you have a chance to win the ball. game, but you throw. So, this is what. the the the the great quarterbacks don't. do. >> They had a timeout left, too. Like, it. could have had a time could have ran and. taken a. >> Tennessee had a timeout. >> Yeah, >> man. And I I'm learning it here in real. time. I apologize for not watching the. entirety of this entire situation, which. is why I'm excited that you're breaking. it down. I love Cam Ward. >> I like Cam Ward telling Shador Sanders. and Workouts that I'm about work. I'm. not about all the [ __ ] I like what.
Cam Ward did from Incarnate Word to. Washington State to Miami. I like that. Cam Ward's dad and mom have come out and. said, "Our boy just likes football. That's all he wants to do is football. He wants to be I like how much mocks he. has. I like how much [ __ ] he talks. I. like how good of a leader he is. But. Jesus Christ. I mean that that is a. that's a fireable offense if you're a. veteran quarterback. Yeah. I mean like. actually. >> it comes down to decision- making. I. think it was Dan O that might have said. it about avoiding bogeies or avoiding. double bogeies and not so much making.
birdies. This is a great example of. that. Like you just throw it away. Just. get another down. Figure it out. Like. you can't have this is a game losing. play. And then on the flip side we talk. about all the time catch the ones they. throw to you. It's a shitty weather. game. you're a DB, you can drop this and. now it's second and seven from the goal. line. But instead, Javon Holland makes a. play and it's a gamewinning play. This. is why you pay those, you know, big time. players and make big time plays and big. time games. >> Javon Holland, absurd start. >> All pro start. All pros so far. >> Yeah, Hall of Fame start almost. >> Great start to the season. >> He's had what uh at least one turnover.
in every game thus far. He had two. against the Rams. They lose. Has a pick. and a punch out against them. I. >> think he's created four so far this. season through three games. >> Yeah, that sliding pick against the. Cowboys that was filthy. Unbelievable. >> to start it. You know, >> Dan Olowski tweeted, "In today's NFL, the best QBs now are bogey avoiders.". >> Mhm. >> Not birdie makers. >> Okay. >> All right, Dan. >> That's a good point. >> Stay in wisdom, Roger. >> Well, I think cuz he's such a fan of all.
these offenses. >> Mhm. >> It's like, hey, you don't have to. [ __ ]. >> You don't got to go win it. >> Just take what the defense gives you. >> Do what the offense is supposed to do. Okay. You're supposed to look here. That. guy's covered. Sick. You're looking. here, that guy's covered. Sweet. We're. dropping it off to here. We're on to the. next one. We don't need you. Hey, you. know, we don't we don't need that. We. just need you to do the offense is drawn. up. Which goes to, you know, all the. older quarterbacks saying like there's a. lot less thinking in this particular. form of football that Danny said, a lot.
more thinking because they're having to. get through their reads a lot quicker. than maybe old school quarterbacks had. to. So, it's certainly a lot mentally. for these quarterbacks. different than. what it used to be where guys were up. there like freestyling almost, you know, trying to figure out what it was and how. it was. Now it's all just more. methodical, but you got to execute, right? >> Well, yeah. And and I think the biggest. thing from the quarterbacks of the early. 2000s and before, right, was those guys. all understood protection. I'm not so. sure today's quarterbacks all understand. protection. Far too often in these first.
three weeks, I turn on film and free. hitters are coming and they don't know a. free hitter's coming. >> Who took a big time shot? Uh Aaron first. week, right? Was that first week? >> Last week. >> Uh who? >> Oh yeah, Pedro. >> Pedro. Somebody came around. >> I saw somebody get one from out here, too. Ah, maybe it was preseason. >> Loves taking about 30 big shots through. three weeks here. >> Some of these quarterbacks are taking. some. >> Yeah. Dart big shots. >> Dart on the injury. I mean, he got. squished. >> Jaylen on Monday night.
>> I for I was talking to somebody. I could. forget who. >> Jaylen got [ __ ]. >> Smacked. But um they told me like they. they think five quarterbacks I think Max. handles the protection. >> 100%. >> You you agree that? >> Yeah. It might be less than five. >> That's crazy. >> Stafford. >> I would assume Stafford. >> Rogers. Mahomes. >> Mahomes. >> Really with Creed even? >> Yeah. >> Lamar. >> Yeah. Cuz like I don't I don't know if. Lamar Perie.
>> I don't know if Pertie does. is Josh. >> That was one of Brady's big things with. Josh is protections. >> Okay. So, pray Josh. >> saying he does know. >> he was kind of I think he was calling. one of his games and he was like pissed. off basically that not getting the the. prote. So maybe he doesn't. >> cuz Aaron's big thing to us. >> Kirk Cousins probably does. >> Sweet. Maybe that means Fernando will. whenever he gets in there. You can tell. how Kirk plays that he knows exactly. what the. >> So Aaron said that he actually looks. from the front back whenever he's trying.
to figure out what the defense is, he. looks at the front back. >> The front will tell you a lot to these. guys. Like I used to write in my notes. all the time under there is no wonder, right? So I used to write that all the. time. So if you got an underfund. >> and this team is typically an overfront, more often than not, the reason they're. in an under is because something's. coming. That's tell. there's no wonder with the under on this. particular team. Did anybody listen to. that? >> Oh, I mean it was preached in Bruce. Aren's system like Harold Goodwin would.
say that almost every meeting. Under. there is no wonder. >> Goodie. How is Goody? He's Carolina. >> Carolina. They're doing well. >> It's good football team. >> Yeah. >> How's BA doing? >> Uh I think he's living. >> I think so too. I think I saw him on uh. he did K show I believe the other day. >> Hope he's great. >> Yeah, >> he was at the Hall of Fame. I'm at the. Hall of Fame. >> Some living. >> living. >> ba. >> cocktail in hand. >> How's he feel about this modern offense, you think? >> I'm sure he hates it. >> All the. >> I just I like he had an answer for.
everything. And I don't think in today's. offenses there's an answer for. everything. >> You can some players just [ __ ] it. We're. just going to lose this one. >> Yep. >> And then we're going to move on. >> Yeah. Whereas like in his offense and. like the old school offenses, you had an. answer for protection and if you didn't, it was a hot or there was a sight. Right. Like there was always an answer. There was always an answer. Even if you. couldn't pick it up, there was an. answer. >> Is Case Keenum calling out the the. defense and the protection? I think so. >> Probably. >> 11 for 11 against the Blitz. >> Does he even need to? Does Ben Johnson.
just have that all baked in? >> Dialed in. >> He calls the play and just everything's. handled for. >> just one word. >> Throw it here. White club service. >> Yeah, exactly. >> It does feel like that is what he does. >> Yeah. >> Guy's outrageous, bro. The beginning of. that [ __ ] game, >> the first five, six plays just being. like perfect, easy. It's like, of. course, this is Ben Johnson, dude. >> Look like a Hall of Famer. >> Yeah. And then the second half comes out. and he Yeah, I am. Yeah, it was. >> impressive. >> Is that going to continue now that you. guys got a full book on him again now. that he's 38 years old? Will that.
happen? Like. >> that's the thing. Can Can you Can you. stay healthy number one at that age? And. um obviously figuring things out, avoiding hits, that'll help you. But you. know, at some point you you kind of find. out why a backup quarterback is a backup. quarterback. That's just what time does. Rarely do you have a guy get in there. and just go on a run and become a Super. Bowl champion or a deep playoff run. It. It happens for sure. Nick Fo Nick Fo a. couple guys probably come to mind but. rarely uh rarely does it happen. But I'm. I'm hoping for the best for Case.
>> Yeah, me too. And Caleb's going to be. back. >> Mhm. >> Caleb looked happy for Case, which I. appreciate. >> Yep. >> And then good, better, best. Never let. her rest till your good is better and. your batter is best. >> Maybe why they go bagman this week, >> huh? Maybe that's why they go bagman. this week just to kind of [ __ ] with. everybody. Oh, you're preparing for Case. Keenum. Okay, here's the bagman. >> Agent's a hooper. >> I want to see him play bad. >> Me, too. He is. >> Yeah, >> he's super tall, very athletic.
>> Got a howitzer. >> Huge arm, incredible athlete. Dad, obviously dog through and through. West. Virginia guy. Nice to talk to him. Had. those canes on, >> those cane recovery shoes. So, he's. almost thinking about the future, I. believe. >> Okay. >> Have you seen these things? No, >> they sent us a thousand of them. These. They're like the new Crocs. >> Oh. Oh, I did. Yeah, Z threw them on. >> They're like the modern Crocs. I You. probably love them if I had to guess. They look like they are right down your. avenue. >> I've worn them on the show before, right? What? A year or two ago? I think. I wore them. >> Yeah, I remember. >> Yeah, of course. You're supposed to get.
us all pair. >> Those goofball ones. >> Well, the the I'm telling you, they sent. the full shoe version, but they have a. Croc version. The Croc version with the. no back. I mean, that's the one. >> Oh, yeah. >> That's the one. So, it's just permanent. sport mode. >> Yeah, permanent as opposed to just chill. mode. >> It's hard to get those on daughter's. feet today. She did not want to put. shoes on. >> Boy, that was a real problem. Oh, I. thought Crocs go in. >> I thought casual cool mode without the. back straps was the way. >> Yep. No doubt. >> She didn't want to. She kicked them off.
I said, "All right, strap them up. I. guess we go sport mode." She goes, "Get. these off me." I go, "All right, no. shoes to school today. Sweet." And then. obviously weren't allowed to do that. She had to have shoes on. So, I had to. figure that whole thing out. I was. getting to the bottom of it. Thank you. to Kane for sending us a thousand pairs. of these right here. This is very kind. of you guys. Thank you. >> Oh, yeah. >> All West Virginia ones. >> Hell yeah. >> Would have been good about week week two. weeks ago. >> What happened? >> We lost to Oklahoma State. >> Got messed maker.
>> What do you think it messed up? >> That'll happen. >> Correct. That's a [ __ ] good football. team. An old Morris, right? Eric. >> out of North Texas. >> Yep. Yeah. Oh yeah. >> That guy's go football coach. >> Yeah. >> Got it figured out. >> They walked right into Morgantown. I. mean, and that was supposed to be. >> Yeah. Welcome to the club. >> How'd that work out for you guys? >> He went for Luke Fickle in Wisconsin. >> Yeah. Luke. >> pretty good. They needed it. >> T's son. >> Yeah, he had a touchdown.
>> Trestle son's the coordinator. >> I mean, >> not a son, but yeah, >> whatever it is. He's a trestle. What is. he? >> You don't [ __ ] know. It's. >> Mike Trestle, I believe. Yeah, >> there it is. >> What is he? Jim's brother. >> Nephew. >> Nephew. >> Oh, nephew. Okay. >> Sure. >> I didn't know if it was his brother. >> It's all the Ohio State ties. That's. fickle. He's got all those Ohio State. guys. >> And what did they do? >> They just walked in and just they were. down 17 nothing. Came back and just. walked it off. >> 17 nothing. >> Are you Are you a little Here's Ty. Hilton's boys. Touchdown on Peacock as.
Wisconsin traveled into Penn State this. past weekend and got a huge win. Third. and 10. Quarterback for Wisconsin. Fakes. the handoff. Drops back, spins it. T Y. Hilton's kid says, >> "Have you seen anybody in my family do. this exact catch here?" You have. And. then he did a little sauce on top. What. a catch. >> What a route. >> He left. >> Big moment. Yeah. 330 in the fourth. >> I mean, he routed. >> Scored two minutes later to win it. >> Yeah. >> I mean, your guy was in chase mode. No.
chance. >> No chance. >> Should have known immediately. T Y. Hilton's kid's going to [ __ ]. definitely outrun me to the sideline. right here. >> Then under a minute left, they hit the. tight end down the middle on a seam. ball. There's not a defender within 30. yards. >> What happened? Is everything okay? >> I don't know, dude. I don't know what. happened. >> Have you lost your hope? >> No, but they got Northwestern in the new. stadium this week. Northwestern play. >> Look out. >> Big 10. Big 10's a different animal. >> That's right. Big 10's really deep. >> Well said. Thank you. >> They're trying to plant those seeds. right now, everybody. Everybody's trying.
to plant those seeds. Yeah, they have. added strength of schedule as a thing to. talk about in the CFP last week, I. think. >> Huge for the Hawks. I don't know how. their strength records fifth in the. country. >> What? >> I have no idea how, but I love it. >> Who'd you play? >> Uh, >> Michigan big win. >> Michigan big win. Pesky, pesky bunch in. Iowa State. You and I, who's a onea. darling, although they suck this year. Uh, and then Northern Illinois, who.
might be the worst team in D1. >> And you guys have the. >> number five. Number five. Yeah. >> See, when the CFP thing starts. referencing this, he shrink the. schedule. Sh. >> It's about time they created some. [ __ ] [ __ ] statistic that favors. Iowa because nothing ever does. >> We'll see if by the end of the year. favors, you know, cuz the conversation. about how many ranked teams you play, that all changes at the end whenever we. find out who these teams actually are. a. lot of projected top teams at this. point, >> let alone what they're going to be at.
the end of the year. >> Big 10 feels good about where they're. at. The SEC this year feels very good. about where they are this year. You. know, Georgia Bulldogs potentially on. top of the entire hall. Texas is the. number one team in the country. Huge one. in Tennessee, but are they going to. >> Big 10 and and the SEC? Both you guys. going to cannibalize each other all. season long, beat each other up, and. then look out, the Big 12 potentially. gets a little. >> No, I don't think the Big 10 and the SEC. certainly are not worried about that, but um. >> Oh, I'm sorry. Maybe the ACC starts. cooking up a little. >> They got I think they got one good team.
>> Virginia Tech 4 and0. >> Maybe. >> Oh, >> hi Michael. >> Hey Michael. >> I need another one of those. Okay. You. can't do that week two and then just. never do it again. >> Still undefeated though after. >> I know. I know. So we're going to So the. real James Franklin is going to start. cooking here. >> Who? They're playing somebody this. weekend both and Friday night. >> First time. Is it first time Tone? I. forget what the year is. First Go ahead. >> Go ahead. Uh first time ever that two P4. teams are 4-0. Uh both unranked uh. facing each other. >> Yeah, Power Four Conference. Obviously.
>> ranking on the line, >> undefeated. Maybe maybe if they're going. to show any respect to either of those. teams. I mean, that is uh that is. certainly something that would have to. happen. I appreciated that stat that uh. Ree gave us yesterday. >> 68% of the AP voters are not associated. with the SEC. Now, do they have some. sort of tie potentially in the past? Maybe, but I guess 30% or something like. that is uh SEC relation. And a lot of. people are saying that's a lot of [ __ ]. That's a high percentage. >> It is. It. >> Yeah, it is.
>> College football though in the South for. so long. And I'm not saying that it. isn't in the north because obviously I. grew up in Pennsylvania around Penn. State Colt fans and everything. AJ grew. up in Ohio wanting to be an Ohio State. fan. They got Michigan hundreds of. thousands. I'm not saying that there. isn't northern schools that are. certainly all in on college football and. stuff like that, but down in the south, all of those [ __ ] they live and die, but like it was everything they had for. so long. So, I think they did kind of.
>> I don't want to say carry the culture of. college football, but I think they did. for a very long time. Now, it is awesome. to see Northwestern getting a new. stadium. >> Yeah. And it's [ __ ] amazing. >> Incredible. Like, I love to see that. more investment into college football. And then you got obviously Oregon is. always going to be a threat out there. UCLA is becoming a team. >> Yeah, >> UCLA is coming a team. They're doing the. JMU method. >> They got uh Kenny Chzn out there. coaching straight out of JMU. >> Bob boys of the fall. >> They are the boys of fall. >> Apparently. >> they're the JMU boys of fall coming over.
to UCLA and they pound the rock. They. could win. Like if UCLA gets back in. there, it's like I like seeing these. school Indiana. >> Yeah. >> Becoming a college football program out. of nowhere is awesome. I think college. football is much more spread out just. like most of the talent is more spread. out because of everything we're at right. now. But for a long time, I think the. South did have a lot of say in what was. happening in College Focus. It was kind. of like their thing for a long time. Still is. Let's not get crazy. I was. just down in the [ __ ] eighth largest. stadium in the world. Yeah. 102,000.
people were in there all day getting. ready for that game. week before at Old. Miss was like there's tents that have. been tailgating in certain spots for. like 70 years straight. A family has. been doing it forever. So, I do believe. that the SEC in the South will always. have a say in what happens in college. football. But the 68% number outside of. the South, I think was a number that. Reese would like people to hear. Like, hey, listen, there's other [ __ ]. voting on this as well. It's not just. the South. And yes, I do have a vote and. I am a graduate of Alabama.
>> Yeah. But on that note, there is a lot of. others who are not graduates of Alabama. have as well. I like that clarification. That was good journalism I thought. >> Yeah, for sure. Also good use of stats. because 68% sounds good. But if you were. to flip it and say, hey, 32% of them are. from the SEC, you can make that argument. like how come a third of the people are. the ones from the SEC making these. decisions. So saying 68% was genius. But. it is very it's it's close, but also who. cares because none of them matter till. the CFP comes out.
>> Well, it Yeah. Well, it does matter. because does it count as a ranked win if. the team was ranked at the time in which. you beat them versus what they. inevitably became? So, does the. preseason bias actually become something. that affects long-term postseason. outcomes? You know, and that's why. college football is the greatest never. be able to figure it out. >> No, because Iowa has the fifth hardest. schedule and they I just listen to the. teams they play in. >> So, Texas got to have number one. I. can't I I think I'm pretty sure it was. four SEC schools and then Iowa was five. and Wisconsin was right there. There.
were like seven maybe. >> I mean Texas and Teresa's point I had to. show respect for the resume. They beat. Ohio State. They just beat Tennessee at. Tennessee. I mean that is you have to. give them respect. But they have not. looked it's once again four weeks into. the season. They are not their best. version of themselves yet. I think Reese. says I don't I we still don't know who. the number one team is. That's how Reese. is viewing it. And I guess that'll. change every single week just like the. Shike Division does. I think we have one. more good D that we need to get to.
because if we don't showcase this team, we're doing a vast disservice to great D. up there at Mile High. >> Yeah, unbelievable game for Sunday night. football with Hufanga. Now, pick six big. time pick three-point game at this point. in the fourth quarter. Pressure bus. pipes because you put the pressure on. Matt Stafford when Stafford is. protected, which he usually is. You talk. about the tight end says like you don't. get a ton of pressure on Matt Stafford. typically, but this time they do. And. it's a good thing that the Broncos did. because it was guys back here running.
wide ass open from the bottom in the. middle of the field. You pause it here. You got a touchdown in the middle of the. field. You got four wide open going to. the flat. You got Higgby down here wide. open as well. But with all that pressure. in your face, you got a free hitter in. Nine's face. He lets the ball go. Huena. does a Huango does a great job reading. it, breaking. Can't be late to the flat. Can't be behind the guy. Great great. job. But once again, if that pressure. doesn't get home, this doesn't get here. But big time play. This is why you send. the pressure. This is why you have a. playmaker back there. And he basically, I mean, I wouldn't say sealed the game.
Obviously, the Rams still had a chance. late. We had the [ __ ] PI call and. the other penalties. So, there were. other opportunities, but this was a big. big turning point in the game for a pick. six. >> Huanga had a hell of a day. He earned. himself AFC defensive player of the. week. Congratulations to him. I love. seeing good D out on a field. I know you. do too, AQ. I love seeing good D right. here. This is a good blitz. And the Rams. actually did a nice job picking this up. They leave the widest for Stafford. He. just threw it behind him to the flat. >> And Huanga says, "Give me that." Wins. the game. Has a pick six. That's quite a.
night on Sunday night. >> Oh yeah. >> Against the MVP in Huanga, Matthew. Stafford. All right. Good work today, boys. AQ, are you going to try to win. some money for people or what are you. going to do? >> Sure. Let's do it. >> Yeah. But AQ, earlier when I did the. injuries thing, you were being super. negative. And I feel like every time you. step up the throw, I'm super positive. Is Is there a way? >> I'm not I'm not doing it for injuries. Can't watch We can't watch an. injuryridden product. Got to make one.
>> What happened right there? >> Suck back. You're sucked up. >> Yep. >> Oh, >> it got back. It got back to a spot. >> Dang. >> Yep. >> That was a deflection. >> Corner. Corner came over. I got it over. this stupid little. >> I don't know. Sunny Styles I probably. got in the window. >> NFC player of the week. >> That's right. >> Congratulations. Hey Q, why don't you be. a thrower of the week for 20 people who. could win $500. If you're able to put. that baby. >> Oh, he doesn't like it.
>> Put that down. Second guessing himself. already waffling the NFL official flag. football, which uh I would say is the. best tailgate football we have ever. encountered. >> For sure. >> This is a great football. Uh, I think. they should be selling this to raise. money for flag everything. >> Yep. Mhm. >> It's a perfect football. It is almost. like a baby Duke, just a bit more. consistent in its shape and uh texture. >> Yep. >> You can spin it, you can kick it, you. can catch it, and it can go off of uh. concrete multiple times and be able to.
handle it. This might be the best. Hey, let's go throw a ball around ball. >> that has ever been created. If you're. able to put that football into that hoop. right over there, 20 people will win. $500. >> Here we go. A2 Shipley, Penn State. legend. Going for the bank. Oh my god, I see it. Yeah, I see the I see the vision. >> Going for it. >> Did you. >> Do you want to do one more throw or no? >> Yeah, let's do one more.
>> That was good. You guys kind of just like took that. song and said this is ours now. Every. time I hear it, I think you guys There's. other places that do it. Do you guys go. I O W A? >> Just No. I mean, it's just I O W A. There's no like. >> No, but I'm saying do you guys play that.
and do that? >> Uh, no. I don't think so. >> Some school we were at this year did it. I was going to say I remember. specifically a game day. >> Somebody somebody did it. It was. >> Oh yeah. No, they definitely are not. playing Zombie Nation. >> And somebody somebody did their own. >> Yeah, it was an early game. >> I forget who it was and what they were. saying. >> Yeah, >> but I was surprised by it cuz as I heard. it, I was like, "Oo, I didn't know we. had more. I didn't know multiple people. do it." I like that they kind of took. it. That is electrifying of a Penn. State. Another thing Penn State does. soon as a tackle happens Mo Bomba's.
playing. >> Unbelievable. Moa as soon as body hits. ground. Uh got Oh, and the whole place. is it. They do games well there. >> They do. >> Not good enough to get by Wisconsin. >> Tough tough loss. >> Good football team. >> It's a good football team. >> got them going. They're spending money. >> Seventh overall strength record in the. country. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. >> It's a good football team. >> It's a good Notre Dame. >> Standing down to CFP. >> That's right. >> Debbs, good work this week. Too much too. much.
>> The players of the week for week three. corrected. Here is the graphic from. earlier. Uh, congratulations Brock. Bowers unguardable. We saw the situation. report. Huanga we saw in good beat. Tyler Loop we watch across the globe. Bjan Robinson was in obviously in the. trenches with the best offensive line. Sunonny Styles Commanders went. absolutely crazy. And Miles Price for. the Vikings wins special teams player of. the week for the NFC. Congrats to him. AQ. Great work this week. You too. You. too. Way to go. Way to go. >> Thank you. You guys, too. >> It's a good Sunday red quarter zip, too.
>> That is nice, right? >> Is that a sun day red? >> Sure is. Nice and subtle right here. But they got. they they they lit it up on the side. What is that? >> It looks like a dragon. >> I don't know what that is. >> Matching shoes. >> Boom. >> Oh, accessorized. >> [ __ ] Mark. >> You want to do one more throw, maybe? Because how good you look? >> Yeah, let's do it. >> We'll make this be on the way out. This. will be for. >> This one's going in. >> 40 people to win five. >> Holy [ __ ]. >> This one's going in. >> Why don't you do it for that House of. Dragons on your left arm there?
>> Oh no, he can't see. [ __ ] Takes the. glasses off. >> 40 people. $500. All you got to do is. repost this post. Say something nice to. somebody. >> And put the easiest WAY TO PAY YOU at. this guy. He sucks at throwing. >> I got I got to stop trying to bank. >> Yeah, precisely. >> I think so. >> I mean, you got to stop aiming. Just. throw it. >> like that. OH, BOOM. >> NO MORE INJURIES. >> No more injuries. Let's have a good one. Be a friend. Tell a friend something. nice. My change life. We're in this. thing together. Team on me. Team on.
three. We can't thank all of you. enough. 1 2 3. Goodbye.
