Hey, hey, hey. You make me watch you. Put my hands up.
Keep my hands up all again now.
USA, USA, USA, USA. Come on in. >> Oh my god.
Heat. Heat. N. Heat.
Heat. The following program is a collection of. stooges talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic.
informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans real world. talk. If you are a young, please seek. permission before watching any further. >> Hey, let's go. >> This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for.
>> McAfee on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers. >> You pun. Damn it. >> Your friend, tell a friend something. nice could change their life. Hello beautiful people and welcome to. our humble abote the draft kings. thunderdome on this walk Wednesday. October 7th 2026. This sports program.
begins now. Football. kicked off another week last night as. Troy had a phenomenal Tuesday. >> Wow. phenomenal Tuesday. But tomorrow, obviously, Thursday night football kicks. off another week of NFL action and. obviously college football action that. is going to see us potentially down. there in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. There is. some weather appearing on the map and on. the Doppler that could potentially be. going through there for the Georgia.
game. Will that throw an entire wrench. into the entire SEC as we try to find. out who are the young kings of the SEC. in this fresh season in Georgia who. hasn't really played anybody? Alabama. has had to play a couple different good. teams. Had had a couple bad quarters, couple great quarters. Have they been. able to get through the lumps of having. to face tougher competition already? Is. that a massive benefit as they take on a. George Bulldog team that was doing. one-on- ones during commercial breaks of. games because they didn't think their. opponent was giving them enough of a.
challenge. >> Interesting dynamic, especially when you. throw in the weather and the fact that. the Sabin duck is being released. tomorrow. Congrats to coach Shabin on. being an absolute legend, greatest of. all time and his doc kind of getting. showcased to the world tomorrow one. episode at a time. >> I don't think we ever nailed that one. down. >> That's the toxic table at boss Connor. and at Tai Schmidt. It's great time to. be a part of sports. MLB also popping. off last night. Another phenomenal night. of action as we're seeing do the Los. Angeles Dodgers have the greatest.
potentially Japanese hitter in the. history of MLB right now? Certainly. And. then do they have the greatest Japanese. pitcher in the history of MLB right now. in Yamamoto who slices and dices and his. record is only growing to become that of. like a fairy tale type pitching. operation. Go ahead. >> Yeah. Well, on their way and this is. kind of why everyone is so scared of the. Dodgers because a he's unbelievable. And. it's not just him, you know, he is the. ace of the staff, but they have three. more aces behind him. But everyone.
remembers last year he pitched, you. know, uh what was it? game six in the. Dodgers Blue Jays World Series and. absolutely shut down the Blue Jays and. then on no day's rest came back and. threw 2.2 innings of scoreless ball. He. This is what he does. He just carves. everybody up. It doesn't matter if. you've faced him before. And anytime you. have a starting pitcher who really. doesn't need any run support or one run. and it feels like you're going to win. That's why uh everyone is so scared of. the Dodgers and then that's not even. accounting what they can do offensively.
because everyone talks about Show but. they don't talk about Freddy Freeman and. Mookie Betts or Kik Hernandez who not a. lot of people have heard of but has 19. career postseason home runs and is tied. with guys like Aaron Judge and you know. David Ortiz. So that series is great. And then the Padres's they extend. against the Brewers. So again, we have. four baseball games today and that could. be the last time we'll have four. baseball games in a day for who knows. how long. So it's kind of like. >> Oh, actually. >> legit. So it's like these games are.
unbelievable. So if you are, you know, going to watch baseball today, like. really soak it in because who knows, this could be the last time we get four. g four very highlevel games in one day. for maybe the next year plus. So yeah, the the MLB playoffs are killing it. right now. CBA negotiations staring us. all right in the face as maybe new. coming uh baseball fans or lifelong. baseball fans. We've seen the song and. dance in the past. There's a. >> you know what? I'm not going to give it. a.
I'm going to say there's a 50% chance. >> Okay. >> I was going to go to 100% chance. >> Sure. >> Just because it feels like that is the. avenue in which this particular. negotiation's happening between the. players and MLB as a whole with the. state of the game. What's going on with. the Dodgers? Well, what's going on with. the Mets? What about how everybody in. ratings are up for baseball? So, do we. need massive change right now? Oh, well, every other league that is operating in. the current moment because we've kind of. learned what a professional league needs. has a salary cap and a floor. That kind.
of is what makes it a healthy league and. that can kind of determine where they're. headed. Yeah. But we haven't had that. Never had that. And look where our sport. is right now. And there's teams that. have no money. The Guardians, they're in. there. Yeah. But the Rays, the Brewers, there's a The way things are going right. now, White Socks, the way things are. going right now, it's it's still good. So that both sides have very valid. arguments on why they feel the way they. feel. And it feels like both sides are. going to want to win this. The players. aren't going to be the generation in. their eyes don't want to be the. generation that gave up the no salary. cap for MLB because this has been.
something that every other league, every. other players have looked at the MLB and. said, "Damn, these guys are doing it. over here. Bobby Ben is still getting. paid.". >> Yeah, >> that's brilliant. long-term investment. plan if we're able to do that with the. NFL. Well, we're not. There's a bunch of. different rules on when you can do. things. The deferred payments that have, I just mentioned with Bobby Benia, have. become a weapon for the Los Angeles. Dodgers to build a potential super team. And there's obviously owners around MLB. that would never be able to do that or. never would do that. So, is there an. unfair advantage that's happening? And. >> fraud involved. >> and there's and whose money is that? Is. that money even exists or is that money.
yours? >> Who's who where whose money is actually. in that thing? You're selling off a lot. of assets. is are those assets going to. get sold off to in the entire process? Can they even exist where they're at? So, do you need massive change if there. isn't federal fraud happening at a at a. level? So, there's just there's so many. I mean, it's just this. >> So, to your point, >> let's enjoy this. Soak it up. Let's. enjoy this. Let's especially enjoy. Moonshot Taka is going to be playing at. 4:00 on TBS. Shout out to Japan. >> big time. >> Yeah. >> Hey, shout out to Moonshot of Taka is.
electrifying. >> Oh, yeah. celebrating with the lads, learning English, not uh kind of. >> Yeah. like not really well, but trying. his best to buy in. Then you got. Yamamoto and Show Otani. I mean, the. Japanese culture in baseball right now. is absolutely crushing it. Guardians at. White Sox, Dodgers at Braves, Rays at. Yankees, Brewers at Padres's. Uh we. can't wait to continue to dial in as we. wait for NFL week five eve on this. glorious day. Nine-year NFL vet Darius. J. Butler is here to see you.
Debucks. Big story line coming out of. last night. Lane Johnson retires. Um, and I guess I should bring in 13-year. NFL vet, Super Bowl champion, offensive. lineman, AQ Shipley here. >> Can't wait to go in the trenches to see. which offensive line is ranked in the. top five coming out of week four. That'll be the Eagles, but maybe it will. be. And this will be the first time. somebody retired from uh in the. trenches, top five offensive line in the. middle of the season. >> Well, >> AQ Shipley, I'll ask you first. The. offensive line position is one where.
it's uh very combative. There is a lot. of fist fighting. There's a lot of. probably in between the ears. conversation that have to happen. Whenever you get um. alphaed, punked, punch in the face, lose. a fight. There's a there's a a potential. moment of like, oh, I'm kind of soft. Then you have to get back up and by the. way, there's another fight coming. Another fight coming. I think that is a. part of an offensive lineman's kind of. mentality. It has to be because you're. literally in 50 fist fights on national. television to try to win billions of.
dollars for a team and for your. teammates and for your city and. everything like that. A lot of pressure. on a position that doesn't get a lot of. spotlight, but usually there is some. negativity that comes from being an. offensive lineman. I think you kind of. live in that world, the trenches world. as much as possible. Lane Johnson uh. basically came out and said like for me, my mental health and my family right now. I have the best time for me to walk. away. There's been so many different. reactions to this from so many different. people from your perspective as Lane. Johnson is going to be Canton Bond Hall.
of Famer. He's two-time Super Bowl. champion. He is this year playing well. by everybody that rates offensive. lineman. >> Oh yeah. >> How do you kind of feel about this. situation and what do you think the. thoughts are in that offensive line room. that's losing a a grade of all time uh. in the in the middle of the season? Obviously they know him a lot better. than we do. We haven't talked to him. may haven't seen it, but this is a very. dynamic situation that has uh not really. been seen too often. Vonte Davis, friend. of ours, former teammate of ours, he. retired notoriously at halftime of a.
game and he said, "This a young man's. game, man. I I ain't doing it." You. know, at. >> at corner, you're kind of out on an. island out there and that can position. very similar to tackle as well. Can you. just kind of tell me your thoughts. outside looking in as former offensive. lineman and when you retired, everything. that kind of went through your mind? >> Yeah, it's tough. I mean, it's whenever. you think about Lane Johnson, first of. all, he's he's he might go down as the. best right tackle to ever play the game. Let's let's be very clear about that. And this is going to be a vastly. different Eagles offensive line without. him. But whenever you talk about the.
position, it's very similar. Just so. happens you got a corner in here and you. got a offensive lineman in here. It is. two of the positions where you have to. have the quickest memory of all time. because you're going to get beat. The. guys on the other side, the defensive. ends, they're very good. They're paid a. lot of money. They're going to beat you. You just want to try and win more than. you get got, right? And and that's the. biggest thing when it comes to it. Now, as you get older and you're used to. seeing who you are, Lane Johnson, one of. the greatest of all time, lived in his. prime for a bunch of years. Now, the. body starts to break down. Maybe it.
doesn't it can't do what it used to do. at times. Right now, you start to see. that on film and it starts to kind of. creep into your head. I don't know if. that's what went into it. He's obviously. had some some some mental health stuff, you know, in over the last couple years. that he's battled a little bit, but you. know, whenever it comes to him, at the. end of the day, you got to do what's. best for you. >> Yeah, I agree. And it's the NFL, so you. know, people get hurt, you have to put. in another tackle, and there's a lot of. people that are like, finish with your. team here. It's like, well, he might be. thinking the best thing for the team is. for him to not be out there. And if that.
is what he's thinking at that exact. time, I don't think the team would like. him to be out there indeed. But I. mentioned him, friend of ours, former. teammate of ours. Rest in peace, absolute legend. Vonte, whenever he. retired at halftime, I think the way he. was thinking, if you listen to him tell. the story, it's like I am the team is. going to lose because I'm out there and. I'm going to be on a spotlight. I'm. about to get cooked out there. If that. kind of went into his mind, I think and. in his eyes, he wasn't going to be able. to get over that. That's a massive. decision for people to move on. But. also, whenever you start to feel that, I. think it is might be time to kind of. walk away. >> Yeah, it's it's a tough.
>> and I'm not once again, we don't know if. this is what Lane is. >> We don't know. You know, you saw the. statement, you saw what he put out. You. don't know, you never know what. everything of what guys are dealing. with. I remember calling Vonte, you. know, after seeing it because obviously. it was very alarming like halftime. something has never happened. So, I. called him and after the game in typical. Vonte fashion, he was in great spirits. like, hey, man, it was time when it's. time is time. Like, bro, I don't know if. that was the time to have like good. He's like, I'm good. Like, I'm great. But it was just, you know, whenever. you're not all all in, like fully all. in. Like, we watch the games. We watch.
games. We see uh the injuries. We see. the good, the bad, and you can't, you. know, you can't be out there half. stepping. That's the best way to say it. at any position, but especially the. positions we're talking about where you. get, you know, beat once or twice, and. that almost change your legacy as a as a. tackle or a corner. This guy sucked. S. cut him. He he ruined the season, ruined. the game for us. Um, Andrew Luck. Andrew. Luck, another one of our former. teammates who dealt with injuries and. then retired at a time, which wasn't, you know, it was very unique. It was. like preseason, damn, you know, going. into the season, you're coming off one. of your best seasons. We built this team.
around you. we paid you this money, all. these different things. But like you. said, you have to do what's best for you. as a teammate. You know, you're playing. this team sport for your whole life. You. I'm sure Lane thought about it without. not wanting to let his teammates down, not wanting to let his quarterback, his. coach, you know, guys who won. championships down. It's tough, but he. made a decision and he he I mean, he. served the game well. He left the game. better than he founded that Eagles. organization. You talked about all those. seasons. Two-time Super Bowl champ, great teammate, uh great guy for the. NFL. So, salute to him and his future. >> Yeah. And not just his future, his past. showed up for him as well. Coach.
Doutland, obviously everybody talks. about as the offensive line coach for. the Eagles. His tweet immediately upon. hearing it was it extremely rare to come. across a player like Lane Johnson. Extremely rare. He coached for how long? How long Jeff Selen coaching? >> I mean I think since like 2012 and then. before that he was Michigan State, Alabama. He's been everywhere. >> Yeah. Everywhere. Great. Greatest. >> Yeah. I mean he can go down as that. Yeah. I mean I think I think when you. look at what he's done in the body of. work that he had and the players that he. had, I mean he can go down as. >> Scard too. >> Yeah. Up there up there. the pantheon. >> Yeah, he's in the he's in the.
conversation. >> Different schemes to different eras. So, how you judge that particular position. is going to be difficult as well, but in. the Mount Rushmoreish. of offensive line coaches. That's right. >> Okay. So, his words are obviously very. heavy. In the spring of 2013, I found. myself on a field in East Texas working. out a young Lane Johnson. I believe he. is 22 years old. All these years later, to say, "I am proud of the career you. built and the man you become would be an. understatement. A Hall of Fame career. It's been a privilege and honor to have. coached you. I am so proud of you, Lane. We all are, buddy. Congrats on a hell of.
a career. >> Oh yeah, Lane. >> Definitely sucks for the Eagles that. they lose Lane Johnson, but I guess it. was inevitable at some point. We'll talk. to Jason Kelsey in about an hour or so. I believe he's still overseas, obviously, teammate of Lane and friend. of Lane Johnson. Okay, so joining us now. is a man who probably has, I think, a great take on this because he. was kind of lingering still for a while. after he retired. Remember? Oh, yeah. >> Staying in shape. If the perfect. opportunity comes, you'll be a It's hard. to hang it up. Like the decision that. Lane just made.
>> is a very difficult, especially if. you're a GOAT, especially if you're. still playing well, which by all. accounts, Lane was still playing well. Oh, yeah. I don't know how he was. feeling about it or why he was. potentially thinking he wasn't or what. he saw to your point on film where he's. like, "Ah, >> I don't know how if that is what he's. thinking. It's completely off the field. We don't know. We We will try to learn. more." But. >> even a 70% Lane Johnson's a top 10. tackle in this league, period. like even. if he even if he dropped even just a. step, he still would have been very. good. >> Joining us now is a man that could. probably still be a top 10 DN in the.
league. He's a Bull Ring of Honor member. down in the Houston Texans organization. Are they all right? >> No, I think so. >> Quarterback's good though. >> Social media team might stink too now. I. mean, jeez. >> Oh my god. With that nuggie in his hand, >> they just celebrated 25 years. You can't. do that nuggy in the hand like that when. everybody's saying he's throwing tasty, you know. >> They came back with another one though. They said him. >> Oh, >> but then it's after a loss. I was like,
damn. >> Damn. He's with him to lose like what is. in a in a tough spot right now. >> I need JJ back. >> Ladies and gentlemen, JJ won. >> Damn. >> Talk Lane Johnson. Let's talk Lane. Johnson. Let's get this conversation. back on the rails here. Sorry, >> let's get this conversation back on the. rails. >> Sorry, just to get a proper intro of. you. I need people to know that you're. part of the Bull Ring of Honor down. Houston. And they don't just put a bunch. of. >> phenomenal career for Lane. It has been.
a great. >> It has been a great career. >> What's his tweet about before we get to. that? Why Why do we got him with a. nugget? >> I I got no clue that that's um. um that is just not a good idea. But lot of numbies. >> They're good photoshop. >> Playing good ball. Playing good ball. >> I know. We'll get back to that later. We'll get back to that later. Just had. to kind of talk about the Houston. relationship who the Houston Texans have. been very nice to us as well. And I have. massive respect for them. Uh I do worry.
though that 0 and4 teams don't make it. to the playoffs, which I'm thankful that. the Colts. >> they have one time. They have one time. before and they might twice. >> Okay. >> They might. We don't know. >> But it could. >> We don't know. >> We don't know. I don't know, but it. could. Wendy, why would they do that? >> They're 0 and four. I don't know. Colts. should be three and one. Colts should be. three and one. We should have beat the. Chiefs and then we obviously get hot and.
Jacksonville's crazy right now, but. Houston has the team we think to be. great. Let's get back to Lane Johnson. Speaking of great, it. >> Okay, so when you retired, uh, you knew. was your last year whenever you're going. into it. How difficult of a decision was. it for you? And then hearing about Lane, your first thoughts about him stepping. away from the game. >> Uh my first thoughts were that there is. obviously a very serious reason behind. this. I mean, for the competitor that he. is, and for who he is, uh what he's. meant to that organization, that team, and how thoughtful that he is with. everything, uh I was I would be very.
quick to be judging anything. And I've. seen some people saying some things and. speculating some things and criticizing. Uh I would just I would be very careful. for somebody who has played at this. level for this long and who has done it. in the way that he has. Uh I would be. very careful coming at him and and. saying this is selfish or he's quitting. on his team or anything. Uh it certainly. seems like the type of situation where.
if you haven't spoken to him and and. understand the real true reasons behind. it, I would I would uh couch my. criticisms. Now, in terms of Lane as a. as a player that absolutely has an. argument for best right tackle of all. time. The guy's unbelievable. Phenomenal. player, incredible player. Um somehow. still almost underrated. Uh and I know. that he uses that as a personal chip on. his shoulder. Um, but he's he's. incredible. There's there's a funny. story somebody sent me yesterday that I.
hadn't seen before. Uh, amongst all this. stuff, it was from this guy Sheil. Kapatia. I think he's a Philly writer. And it's a story from 2018, and it's. from the day after Lane played against. us in the Texans. And he said, "The Pro. Bowl votes came out last week, and I. wasn't a Pro Bowler. So, I drove to the. facility at 2:30 a.m., slept there, and. then worked out and went to practice. And I was gonna make a point that week. against JJ Watt to not let anything. happen. And all I have to say about that.
is, couldn't we just release him a week. later? Why did I have to be that week? >> Yeah. Yeah, I understand. Yeah. The week. of the. >> That's not fun. >> Yeah. And did he cook you? He cooked. you. Yeah. Pretty good. >> He played very well. He played He was. getting to the spot. He wasn't giving up. a single bull rush. He had one-on- ones. He didn't want any chip help, no tight. end help. I wasn't having my best day by. any standards. And he wasn't helping me. I can tell you that. So, it was uh he. made his point. He made his point. I I. could I would have given him my Pro Bowl.
before the game if that would have made. him go a little easier. >> Yeah. But you didn't, you know, cuz you. kept it and wanted to win the MVP of the. Pro Bowl. Uh so you could get that. truck. >> Yeah. Brand new truck. >> That's what I mean. Yeah. >> I needed that. I needed that. One people. was like, "John, we still have the game. >> What's that? >> We still have a Pro Bowl game if they. played like. >> Yeah, exactly. JJ was trying to save the. Pro Bowl." And Lane Johnson sounded like. he wanted to as well. Sound like he. wanted to be in there because obviously. he respected the great of the game and. what the Pro Bowl was, what the Pro Bowl. is. Everybody's talking about how great. he is, though.
>> Everybody. He was what, number four. overall pick. >> Mhm. >> So coming in, you got to be great. And. then to live up to the hype in. Philadelphia, um, I appreciate what he's done. And to. your point, we have no idea what it is. We Vonte, we only know Vonte whenever he. retired at halftime and his conversation. was like, "Yeah, right. That second half. I was going to get absolutely crushed. and that that's just not what I want to. do." And to Debbut just said it, he. talked to him after the game. Vonte was. completely okay with it, too. Yeah. This. is how it had to be, man. This is just.
how it is. And I've been thinking about. it for a bit. I know Lane had been. thinking about it. Anytime you get. towards the end of your career and. you're a little bit older, especially in. those fist fighting positions, there's. always a conversation is do I want to. sign up for this again? Do I want to. sign up for this again? Is that. something to. >> A Q's point? Yeah. To a Q's point like. where he's saying, you know, a 70% Lane. Johnson is better than 100% of everybody. else. I do not disagree at all. But I. think you also have to look inside. Lane's head and know how maniacal you. are as a competitor and know how crazy.
you are about your own play. And you. know what it is at this level when you. have one little thing that doesn't feel. like you're playing at your best. And. when you know what it feels like to be. the greatest in the entire world at what. you do, when you slip down to just. slightly less than that standard, even. if it's still above everybody else in. your head, it's like you just slipped a. mile and everybody's passing you. But he. like sometimes you just get inside your. own head because of the standard you. hold yourself to and you don't even. realize you're still playing better than.
everybody else. and also to follow. because I've seen others do it. The. amount of work it takes for you to be. that person. So when you start to see it. slip, it's like, do I want to sign up. for everything that it's going to take. for me to be that person still at this. stage? All those conversations start. happening for everybody, especially at. the offensive line position. Hell of a. career, Lane. Proud of you, buddy. >> Proud of you, Lane. Okay, let's talk. about uh the game that you had this past. weekend. Chiefs Raiders. Uh Chiefs. appear to be best team in ball game and. with K9 at running back in the way they.
utilize him I don't that travels. obviously clearly but you can win in. playoffs like this you can win in Super. Bowl like this defense has enough. Do we. do we think defense has enough across. the board to get them back? Are the. Chiefs all the way back after watching. them play up close and person and learn. about them? >> I mean it was a phenomenal game first of. all. The Raiders absolutely held their. and and went right down to the wire. pretty crazy ending obviously, but when. you look at the Chiefs and you look at. the addition of Ken Walker, like it's.
incredible. And you talk to the players. and the coaches all week and what he's. done open up the offense, to open up the. play action game, to allow Travis Kelce. some more one-on- ones. Pat talked about. seeing defenses that he hasn't seen in. years because last year he was. practicing his play fakes to try and get. linebackers to bite on the run fake so. he could get play action over the top. and he was like, "Even with the best. play fakes ever, they weren't biting. because we just didn't have the run. game. So, they didn't have to respect.
it." Now, these guys are biting on the. run fakes because they know they have to. stop Kenneth Walker, which they still. can't do. The break broke tackles is. absurd how many tackles he's breaking. And then the linebackers are sucking up. So, you've got patches dropping dimes. over the top behind him in the play. action. They're running all sorts of. screens left and right. Um, it they they. have a lot of weapons on that offense. It's very impressive. >> The Thornton injury. Ew. Uh yeah, that. is brutal. Uh we don't know the digress.
>> Career day, too. He was having a career. day out there. >> Huge, huge day for him. Back to Kenneth. Walker. That's where um you know, Travis. Kelce coming right around the other. side. And then they're potentially. adding. >> a cheetah to that offense who I I don't. know how that's all going to go with new. information. There's there's a lot. coming out in that whole world, but that. offense with Andy Reid always better. whenever Patrick Mahomes has the. capability to run the rock because. everything there was a ball that uh they.
posted last night on social that I sent. in. >> This I he's fading backwards and. literally just flip of the wrist, you. know, that is that is. >> follow through. No follow through. Just. incredible. >> guy. Always has been, always will be. he. can be showcased a little bit more. whenever they have a run game, right? We. we should be expecting Showtime Mahomes. all the way back for the rest of the. season. JJ, >> I mean, you would imagine he's only. going to continue to get stronger. Obviously, still coming off of the. injury and still building up that part.
of his game and hasn't had to run a ton, hasn't had to use his Mahomes magic and. legs and everything. So, you would. imagine that whenever those situations. do arise that it's required that he's. only going to continue to get stronger. there. Um, yeah. Yeah, they're they're a. very very good football team. But I. think on the flip side, you also have to. give a ton of credit to the Raiders. People were wondering, you know, 3 and. 0, is it real? Is it not? This is the. first, you know, true test. The teams. they'd faced up until that point were 1. and eight. Um, so 3-0 versus 3 and 0. It.
was a battle. It was a really, really, really good battle all the way to the. end. A lot of fun. They had the third. down or they had the three points they. took off the board with the field goal. uh that they decided to go for it. So, it was it was a great football game, man. I thought you did a great job. calling it. Living in the moment with. you is fun. >> Yeah. >> I think a lot of people are getting. introduced to you having actual energy. and emotion towards the sport in the. game. I think you're finding your groove. in there. I really enjoy listening to. you call a game. Not only because you're. a friend. Uh but because I like the way.
you go about your business. You're. obviously resume is ridiculous. The way. you've played throughout the history is. respectable by everybody that's ever. been on the field. So obviously coaches. and players are going to give you stuff. But then your perspective, great. And. you guys are having uh like record. setting year. Congratulations. >> Having a lot of fun. >> Having a lot of fun. I mean to have the. most watched ever game in week four is. really cool. To have the most watched. game of the season so far is really. cool. It's been great. Very proud to be. part of the CBS squad having some fun. with Jim and Tracy and everybody. Man,
it's uh when you get games like this, I. mean, Rio was crazy. This week was. crazy. It's it was uh it was a blast, man. And if you if you're a football fan. like I am, you get to sit on the 50 yard. line every single week and have the best. seat in the house for these games. It's. it's awesome. >> Yeah, you're doing a great job and you. understand that the the sport and the. game is the show. I'm here to set the. tone for everybody that's watching. alongside you and Nance. I can't wait to. see you guys grow together. I'm excited. for that. Now, you get conversations. with people that we don't because you. are part of the A booth for CBS. Conman.
has a question for you. Yeah, Jay, to. Pat's point, you reacting to Kubak at. halftime saying like, "Hey, we're going. to go win this game in the second half. was sweet." What was he like in the. entire kind of pregame interviews. leading up to the game? Is this a guy. that you think is going to be around for. a long, long time? He kind of seems like. he has that nice guy persona, but then. has the fiery Ben Johnson, I'm that son. of a [ __ ] type persona as well with his. team. Like, should we all be buying.
stock in the Raiders now? and Kubak. behind the scenes. Is he just a mad. scientist genius? >> So, here's this is it was great. That. moment was great. And what I said. afterwards is like that being I think a. slip of the real personality. I think. this is what he is and it's really cool. His dad was kind of a similar way, but. he is very straightforward, to the. point, not going to give you much at. all. Whether it's in our production. meetings or on his interviews or his. press conferences or anything, he's. going to be very reserved. keep.
everything close to the vest. But I do. believe that when he is in the locker. room or he is on the practice field with. his guys and with his group and you're. inside that little circle of trust, I do. believe there is that personality that. you saw at the end of the halftime. interview where we're going to go win. this game. And and it's not an arrogance. or a cockiness reason. It's because of. the belief in what he knows and his. preparedness. And I really do believe. that that is his strength is his. offensive game planning. And you see the.
way that he's using Bowowers now in a. similar way that they use JSN in Seattle. and his ability to break down defense. That first touchdown to the number three. tight end that hasn't caught a touchdown. in a couple years. He swings him out the. back or out the front side of a run and. gets him wide open in the corner. Like. he has some really good stuff and I. think the players buy into it and I do. think that there's that that underlying. confidence that he doesn't really let. out often but he lets he lets his guys. see it. >> They have a good roster. number one. overall pick hasn't had to play yet.
because Kirk Cousins's been doing his. thing. Feels like they're well on their. way to whatever this next Raiders. iteration is going to be. Happy Max. Crosby's getting to enjoy it. >> Yeah, good for him. >> I'm happy he's getting to enjoy it. Yeah, Mad Maxman going crazy, man over. there for the Raiders uh since the. beginning. He he said I don't know if. you got to hear this from there. He said. the sound that uh quarterback some. quarterbacks make whenever you tackle. them is is a little different than. others. >> Saw that. >> I don't know if you saw that or not. I. didn't see it, but I I I mean I know I.
know that I I've I've experienced it. >> Okay. Uh let's get into that a little. bit. So, has there been some reaction? Yeah. Is there some reactions that are. like a tennis, you know, or is do some people grit and. bear it? Because I know Andrew Luck's. big thing was like, "Hey, thank you, man. Good hit." Hell yeah. >> That was how he wanted to respond every. single time whether or not he was. hurting or not. Some of the times we. find out, I think he had punctured lung. one of those times. he had and he was. getting up saying, "Great hit, man. Really good football." And then just. going to because that's literally what.
Andrew Luck is. There's a variety of. responses and in the moment when you. realize them, what is your immediate. >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. No, there there's there's all. sorts of them. You can you can tell by. the sound if he knew you were coming, if. he was completely blindsided, if he was. ready for the hit, if he like likes it, doesn't like it. Like there's some guys. that'll laugh like right afterwards or. you know, you do have the guys that say. good hit. There's other guys that it was. completely and entirely not even in. their mind that they might be getting. sacked right here and you just wiped.
them out out of nowhere and it's like a. pure exasperation. Like every ounce of. oxygen just left their body. It's just. it's not even sound. It's just like a. like oh dude there is just nothing. better than. >> this guy is a maniac. An absolute. maniac. This is the mindset though. And. Lane Johnson has to take this guy on. That's right. You know, Lane Johnson has. to take on another freak on the other. side who's seemingly getting pretty. worked up here about the sound of a. blind side shot on a quarter.
>> empowered by them. >> Empowered. I need it. >> I wish I could bottle that sound, man. Every day. That's what. >> Everybody Everybody's always like, "Oh, the booth. Like, it's got to be awesome. job. Like, it's the best job. It's. awesome." And they're like, "You got to. miss playing though, right?" Like, "You. got to miss playing." I'm like, "Well, Monday morning I don't really miss." And. like put the sacks and I'm like, >> "Yeah, >> yeah. Yeah, >> like every now and then you just got to. when you are allowed to legally. completely legally just go out and. another grown man is right in the fair.
hit like the De'or Buckner hit this. weekend. >> Fair hit in the chest, put your shoulder. into him, head off to the side, arms. off, roll off the but you completely. empty a man's rib cage and lungs of all. oxygen for one second. Yeah. >> Hey, knock if you buck if you want. You. know what I mean? Knuck if you b. Yeah. >> No. >> No. >> It'll be in here somewhere. >> We'll get to it. >> No. >> No. No. >> Best hit of the year. >> It was. Yeah.
>> Yeah. It was. >> hit of the year. >> It was And. it's all right, Bruce. Bruce went for. it. >> Hey, you're all right, Bruce. >> Keep swing. >> I was pretty confident that it was going. to be in that Buckner B-roll package. I'm not going to lie. >> Somewhere somewhere in there. You know, it's not in that package, but deserves. to be. Him chasing the ball down the. field. The way that he and that entire. Dline runs down the field. There was. another one later. I think it was Grover. who chased a guy like 60 yards down the. field. Those guys I that I respect the.
hell out of that. >> Our team with Buck and our team without. Buck. Two very different football teams. >> Like Lane Johnson numbers. >> Y. >> very much. And he had a neck, I think. Like he a very. >> very unlucky neck. >> Yeah. Hell yeah, Bruce. >> Good work, boy. >> Bruce Mitten in the back. Way to find. it, lads. Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> I saw him in the postgame press. conference. He had no shoes on. He was. uh he had his uh sleeveless undershirt. on and he was just talking. I have a lot.
of respect for this man right here. I. have a lot of respect for this man right. here. But I like that we got a win. whenever Daniel Jones did not play great. football. And I like that the Forest. Buckner is to your point reminiscent of. what he was like two, three years ago. before he got like badly. He had. >> Oh, yeah. He had he was out for a long. time and obviously he changes our entire. team. We should be three in one. >> Should be. >> We should be three in one. We took the. Chiefs over. >> We should be three and one. >> Yeah. Yeah. I would say that too if I. was in your shoes, >> but you're not.
>> Season. >> So, let's uh let's This is a big one. here. Two and two. Two and two. >> Yeah. Uhoh. >> Who's going to. >> who's going to wear? >> Hey, kind of talk about these big fellas. though of the Forest that chase down Max. Crosby. I remember listening to you on. that game actually. I think it was a. long run that happened. You're like, damn. I know Max is pissed off cuz that. was a play he was off the field. They. ran to his side. I know you did some. rotating. TJ's been rotating more. Pittsburgh. Like, how tough is it to. handle that? Obviously, you want to be. fresher throughout the end of the. season, but how tough is it to kind of. manage or handle that as a as a as a.
defensive lineman, as a whatever pass. rusher? How is it handling that. throughout the season? It's it's really tough because you know. in your heart that it's most likely the. best thing for the longevity of the. season, for the longevity of a career, and for giving yourself, you know, the. best snaps as the fourth quarter rolls. around. What happens when you like in. the Raider game when Max Crosby is off. the field and Ken Walker rips off a 79. yard run right at the side that you're.
normally occupying and you would think. like you know if I was on the football. field that would not have happened and. so then that's in your head not only the. rest of the game but the next game when. it comes time to take the break and all. you can picture in your head is all. right if I take this play off there's a. 79 yard run possibility coming here and. That's the danger that you start getting. into. And then the other side of you. also has that extreme confidence that. every time I'm on the field is an. opportunity for a sack and every time.
I'm off the field is not an opportunity. for a sack. And so you truly believe. that you are going to make every single. play on every single play of the entire. game. And that's the mind f that gets. gets you. Um so I do think it's good. So. far it's been really good for TJ this. year. He's been having success. Max has. taken those plays off as we saw, but. it's those little ones like that on. Sunday where you wonder this coming game. what that percentage might be. >> All right. Something else I know other. conversations I know you get to have.
with these refs throughout the game. pregame I'm sure and they are right. square in the middle of the conversation. right now. What's your thoughts on these. suspensions and what we saw with the. Trey McBride? What we saw in the Vikings. game? What's your thoughts on that? >> I mean out of pocket like what what. what's going on out here? like like do. you talk to refs and you have a little. back and forth and you always have some. refs, you know, that are you like better. than others? You have some refs that. call things differently and you kind of. know how they go over the years, but I. mean just the straight up f you like.
yelling at it loud and the way it was so. like flippant and just like that was. that was that was wild. And like I know. I know Trey pretty well obviously played. with him and know him pretty well. like. I I he's a very nice kid and so I'm so. curious like the whole buildup and. everything to it and then the other one. I I still don't have the full. explanation of the other one because I. just caught it on the plane ride home. where the guy knocked him over and then. the ref got like. >> just wildly furious. >> He wanted to attack. We we don't know if.
he was, you know, concussed cuz he did. take the uh the delay bump with the. head, you know, he didn't tuck the jaw, he didn't tuck the chin. I I don't know. if he would have expected that. Uh, if. he doesn't bop his head off the ground. there, is he getting back up wanting to. fight a guy on a football field? I'm not. 100% sure, James. That's the only excuse. we made up for him. >> I mean, I'm glad the league did. something because like, you know, obviously there's a lot of times where. you protect and you try to, but I'm glad. that they did something. Um, and. hopefully it it continues in the future.
It's uh I'm hopefully get straightened. out. Refs have like like it's easy for. all of us to rip on the refs. They have. like the shittiest job. >> Oh, yeah. Oh yeah. >> Like you got you just you just. absolutely have to be 100% perfect all. the time. And no matter how perfect it. is, the other side's going to hate you. Even if it is the correct call and even. when you're perfect, you're having the. worst day ever. So it No, I don't. I sit. up with a bruise and I I say the wrong. times because they are wrong. It's it's.
not fun. >> That's what we sign up for. >> But we all know how much tell me I'm. wrong. We know how much importance they. have to the game and the outcome, which. is why we were so on their side to get a. deal done with the NFL whenever their. CBA was up this past off season. Uh the. NFL also, >> hey, >> they've taken back to find the juice. >> Yeah. >> Yep. >> They've taken back to find the juice. saying, "All right, >> there we go. >> Valid argument. You were having juice.". They also uh rescended uh the Jake. Ferguson. >> Jake Ferguson tight end uh shotgun.
situation because that was he had done. that for Gatorade in the past. >> That's right. >> So I think if you were able to present a. meaningful argument that said it wasn't. You guys are saying it's beer. >> I didn't say it was beer. >> Yeah. >> Why are you thinking that? Why I wasn't. thinking that at all until you said it. I don't like that the NFL booze. Everything that goes into somebody's. mouth is is booze. You guys need to lay. off. Like, you guys need to lay off the. booze a little bit.
>> Stay hydrated. >> Come on. >> Class athletes. >> You could really do You could grandstand. to the NFL. You guys are disgusting. Who. made this decision? You need to get them. checked. Their liver is probably. starting to fail right now if with how. much they think every single liquid that. goes into somebody's mouth is booze. That's crazy. Now, if a guy does bring. out a beer bong, >> you know, like somebody else is holding. it, maybe he cracks open two of them, pours it in. >> Could be anything. >> Could be anything. >> Energy drink.
>> Toss up. He could just say, "I'm going. toss up. >> that." But what if the other guy is. holding one up there and then he he's. actually and he opens the thing and. energy drink. >> Dual trombone. >> Yeah. IV. >> Dual tuba. >> IV just straight into the mouth to get. hydrated. Well, I mean, I guess they. could actually. What if they do? >> Yeah. >> Do an IV? >> Mhm. Well, that that's hard. It's hard. hard drugs. >> I. That's you. Hold on.
>> That's what we're talking about. >> Slap the tourniquet on there and you. know that's. >> we got to draw the line. >> Well, I just got just getting an IV here. trying to be hydrated. >> Yeah, someone's acting like a nurse next. to him. >> I like that we backed off of that. Now, there are stats coming. I like that. we've backed off of that. Like, let. people just have fun. We got a Bud Light. commercial coming in literally 15. seconds, right? L literally 15 seconds. There's one around the corner. So, if. the young kids are doing the beer. chugging, have their parents and say, "It's juice. You're doing that with. Gatorade. You're doing that with milk.".
>> That Yeah. That's like whenever they're. chanting, "F somebody in there." And I. say, "It's truck something." I'm trying. to help the parents say like, "Yeah, that is what they're saying." You know? So, if you just kind of let them say. that that's what they're saying. >> Yeah. You definitely don't stoke that. fire at all. ever. Not this year. Not. this year. I I don't I believe I have. not. I. >> maybe a little bit down in Old Miss, but. we knew that was coming. Lane Keifin was. coming to town. That was happening all. morning. But those, you know, >> good job in Iowa, guys. Also a really. good job this weekend. It's really cool. Really really good job. Really enjoyed.
the broadcast, the everything from the. hospital, all the all the stuff you guys. did was really good. >> You played there, right? >> I did. I did. We didn't have They didn't. have the wave when I played there. >> Really? You're old as hell. I didn't. start until after I was I had graduated. That was never a thing when I was in. school there. >> It's become a really cool Yeah. >> tradition there. And going in the. hospital, getting a chance to look down. where it at with the people that were. there. The uh kid that was sitting next. to Caitlyn in the hospital whenever they. did the wave, his name's Everett. Loves. soccer. Huge soccer fan. Messi is his.
favorite player. Did you watch Messi. last night? Last time playing for. Argentina. Did you think about maybe. >> I saw some of the clips? Yeah, >> saw some of the clips. I thought we. watch these types of events. Bubba. Gumpino, does Burnley have any chance to. sign Messi now that he's retired? Is. that why JJ's not watching? The greatest. of all time last time, dawning his. Argentinian stripes. >> Couldn't hurt. JJ's boys kind of got to. rally the troops here, but uh I think. they'll figure it out. >> How was. >> Thank you, Gump. Thank you, Gump. >> Yeah, I got you.
>> Thank you, G. >> That's a tough That's a tough league. Championship's no joke. >> What's that? What's that? >> I know. >> people don't say that usually. >> What is the championship league? That's. >> It's the league below Premier League. very physical, tough league. It's one of. the top leagues in the world. >> I'm I'm just going to keep it. I'm just. going to do what my son says. I'm going. to zip it, lock it, shut up. >> I'm going to I'm going to zip it, lock. it, put it in my pocket. >> Hey, I appreciate you doing that for the. kids out there. He's been walking to. Mordor. I'll have you know, >> he's in shape right now. Treadmill. Walk.
in the mor. >> Let's see. Give me a shot. Give me a. shot of him. >> Stand up. Stand up. >> Game day. Take. >> a puppet, JJ. It's already going through. his head. You can hear you telling him. to stand up. >> Yeah. He's feeling good. His pats, you. know, it's week to week right now and. he's feeling good. It's a good week. >> Exactly. Exactly. Just like with. Burnley. It's a good week. They're. winning right now. >> They're winning right now. >> They're coming back. >> Coming off international break. Really. important international break. >> So, they're not losing right now. >> To come out strong. >> Let's go. Burnley. >> Here we go. >> Here we go. >> Espanol is playing well, though. Good.
squad there. >> Congrats to Espanol. We're in the middle. of football season. American football. season. Uh the football season. And. there's uh seemingly a correlation. happening with the big guys in the run. game in good ball. AQ has a question for. you, Jage. >> Yeah, Jage, I'm excited to get your take. on this. Obviously, with a strong run. game usually correlates with strong. quarterback play, right? Can you talk. from a defensive perspective how that. affects the safeties and having to drop. a guy in the box and how it affects the. different uh run defenses you have to. play against it? Yeah, I mean it affects.
not only bringing a safety down at the. box to have to try and defend the run or. just changing up the entire structure of. how you want to attack it, but it really. affects the guys up front as well. We. already talked earlier about how it. affects the linebackers and what they. have to do in respecting the run game. while also trying to make sure they're. protecting against play action, pass, and things behind him. Um, but up front. you have to stop and be stout against. the run and play your gap first while. checking to see if it's a pass or a play. action before you can rush the passer.
So, when you have a truly strong run. game, and it's also part of the reason. that everybody's going to more under. center stuff, too, because of the. balance and the unpredictability of is. it a run, is it a pass? But the more. that you can make the defense not not. allow themselves to be onedimensional. and just tee off on the pass rush, the. better you're going to be because not. only are you going to have an extra. quarter second, half second to drop back. and read the defense, you're also on the. back end going to have possibly a little. bit of extra time or open space because. of everything back there. So that's why.
like again to go back to what Patrick. Mahomes was saying about adding Ken. Walker and what he's done is he. literally said now teams are bringing. that other safety down into the box. we're getting a little more single high. or in those instances where they've been. doubling up or bracketing guys, keeping. a guy over the top of Travis, now. there's a little bit less of that. There's a little more one-on- ones. It's. just it's a pure numbers and math game. and it's pure bodies. And so when you. bring all the bodies up close to the. line, all of a sudden now you're opening. up things behind. >> One of the highlights we shown there uh.
to showcase the run game is Bjon. Robinson and Monday it was his show yet. again. Go ahead, Todd. >> Yeah, JJ. to that point through the. first two weeks of the season, the. Falcons looked like arguably the worst. team in the NFL. And since Michael Penn. has come back, you could argue they look. like one of the best teams in the NFL. And obviously a big part of that is, you. know, Bejian not facing as many heavy. boxes and things like that. But who who. are are there any teams that you're. looking at right now that you guys maybe. have on the schedule coming up that you. think could be on that same trajectory.
where like right now no one's really. talking about them and it's kind of like. hey these this team might stink but in a. couple weeks uh that notion might change. and it might be like okay this team's. about to make a run here. >> It's a good question. It's a really good. question. The first thing I thought of. when you talked about first two weeks of. the next two weeks, and it's obviously. partially because I'm studying the game. for this week, but the Colts defense, the Colts defense the first two weeks. was really, really bad. And now. obviously they played against a couple. very good quarterbacks and they had a uh.
MVPs on their schedule, but they. completely turned it around the last. couple weeks. And so that is a great. development. Now, if they can stop. turning it over a little bit on offense. and they get a little bit of what they. had last year at the beginning of the. year, like you start to see, all right, maybe this thing starts to turn around. this way. Who knows? Um. >> Jonathan Taylor, two touchdowns. internationally this week. I I mean, unbelievable. >> Yeah, you're talking about the Colts. maybe being the Falcons in this. particular season. Uh. >> yeah, I'm thinking, yeah, that is going.
to happen. That was tea. He knows. everybody knows that was tea. Now that. they're sending fines, he can clearly. state that he was drinking with uh not. the queen. Rest in peace, >> the king probably. >> You think he can hold teacups? >> No. >> No. They're custom fingers. >> No, that's customize them. >> I don't know if he. >> fat or go back to it, but the king is a. Burnley fan. >> So, there's that. >> Has he been to a match? >> Yeah, it's been a while, but he has. been. He has been.
>> Have you like since you've been owner? No, absolutely not. >> Invite them. >> Don't you think we need to have a uh we. need to have a special Burnley food bowl. showcase show from over there? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Great. >> Who's your biggest fan? The King. I. think we have to have him on as a guest. >> Or is the McAfee machine working? I see. it. I see the wheels. Love it. Love the. wheels. Well, we're trying to figure out. how we can get to one of these games for. you because we would like to support. them, but there's no way we can just.
take three days off to go watch a soccer. match. There's no way that can happen in. the reality of things. >> Take a night. How do you Did you ever. play an international game? >> I mean, I played overseas a couple. different times, couple different. tournaments. Yeah, I got to play a. little bit. I'm bigger, you know, >> cuz I'm thinking like, cuz it's. interesting to me. It used to be when. the international program started, it. was an automatic by week after the. international games. Now, we had Rio. last week with the Cowboys coming back. from Rio and it's a very short road. trip, but they immediately go on the. road to Houston one. Now, the Colts this.
week come back from London and. immediately go on a road trip, another. short one, but still a road trip to. Pittsburgh. I'm curious what your. thoughts are on. >> that, handling it and everything. >> I think Chuck chose not to take the buy. after we came back from London. >> How was that game? >> Yeah. Did we. >> I don't remember. I he was a decision. I. think teams are asked, would you like to. take the buy after your international. game? It might be. >> week four though. It might be you. I. think it's a little different. I don't.
know if they let them even make a. decision now on whether or not they get. a buy because it's just so normal. Like, hey, yeah, you got to play that. That's. how this goes. >> I mean, after opening the season in. Australia and then making teams play, you know, you can't give them a buy. there. So, I think I wonder if it's. just, hey, the schedule is what the. schedule is. >> That was on Wednesday. Thursday. >> Thursday. Yeah. So they had the that 10day try on the. backside is how the NFL can sell that. But he used to be an option I think for. teams and we chose I think not to do it. I don't I don't have a a thought in this.
thing. >> Yeah. Well, I mean yeah you're all you. got to kick the ball, you know. >> Bingo. Yeah. I got back feeling just I. actually I have a question for you. >> In our game Raiders Gay takes the onside. kick and I think even their officials. were confused by it. Uh Matt Gay, he uh. holds it in his hands and goes for the. drop kick, which I do believe happened. in the Tennessee College game recently. >> Yes. >> The amount of spin he got on the ball. was insane. Now, he I think he kicked it.
a little bit too far, but is this. something that we are going to see. moving forward? M. >> I like the idea and no stone left. unturned type situation happening here. cuz if you're a good drop kicker which. it which it appears Matt Gay and the. Tennessee kid uh he did it incredible as. well. They chose to go to a side with. it. The issue became the ball has to be. kicked from the 35 yard line. So that. ball was at like the 34, you know, it. was like a yard behind because he didn't. want to go past the line, I think. And.
everybody was like, well, it has to be. ground against it. Has to be grounded on. the 35 yard line. That is the kickoff. line. >> Exactly the 35. >> Exactly. The ball has to be on the 35. So I think if guys are able to do it. directly from the kickoff line, which. guys have enough control to do that and. the ball has to be grounded, you know, this was um like after uh safety, the. ball can't be grounded, so you have to. punt it. Yeah. So that that's like that. entire there's like little intricacies. of the entirety of the rules. So for.
this, I think the ball has to be. grounded at 35 to be kicked. So in. theory, this has been here the whole. time and then now they're starting to do. it. And guys have really good I I was. watching CJ Carr with the ball when we. were talking to him at game day and just. his ball was just so filthy, so clean. He guy's been with a ball. >> These punters and kickers now. >> the they're around footballs a lot. I I. mean very they're very comfortable. kicking very this could be a thing and. yeah it helps with the spin whenever you.
can drop that and spin with the outside. of your foot. Now the question would be. >> laying sideways on the ground verse drop. kick. What is difference because you're. hitting it at the same time? I I don't. fully. >> Can you show that closeup again? There's. like a close-up one of him. Did he spin. the ball before he dropped it? >> Yeah, backwards which you know cuz then. you're potentially landing on the laces. which gives you an awkward bounce. I I. like his amount of He's done this a. thousand times. What? Like it looks. maybe 10,000 times he's done that. I was. a pretty good drop kicker. I could drop.
kick the ball pretty well. Uh so I'm. actually kind of pissed that this wasn't. thought of at the time because back. whenever you could actually do onside. kicks. Me coming out and getting one of. those would be a nice one to have on the. resume. But I like the fact that they're. doing it and there's a lot of talented. guys that should be able to pull it off. But you remember you hit on the inside. here. That thing will actually banana. bend for you on the back end. So you. could potentially take that thing this. way. Boom. get runners in front. hopefully and that thing bends behind. you. I I think that would be an. iteration that you could potentially. >> That would be insane. >> with a lot of spin.
>> You you think you think you you would. have the opportunity to get guys in. front of it and it still have enough to. get behind them into the 10. >> So I think the first couple guys are too. close, but if you there's some talented. ball kickers that have nothing else to. do. I I mean, you kick like 20 25 balls. at practice and then you do some drills. on [ __ ] and then you're just bored out. there just games. There's been a lot of kicking the ball. on its side so it gets up to a field. goal so then you can kick a field goal. with it. All those types of things come.
with all this. So I think if kickers and. punters start punters mostly, kickers as. well, but punters are the ones that are. using hands and dropping. If if they. start working on this, I think we could. get some good [ __ ] out of it. I think we. get some good [ __ ] I don't know if it's. going to be successful because getting. an onside kick these days is. >> I much rather feel as a former. designated hands guy like to catch the. ball. It's a lot of anxiety with that. position. I much rather feel one of. those than the the the ones that take. the skip and the high bounce. That's the. that's the worst one. >> High up is.
>> Yeah, I was exposed just. Yeah, I've been in that position and. that was that was actually my last. that's when I retired from that. All. right, I got a question for you cuz I. was talking to Z about this the other. day cuz he's been a designated hands guy. forever. So, what's dev debuff for you? What's more stressful? One-on-one on the. outside with a number one receiver or. having to get the onside kick? >> High bouncer. >> Onside kick for sure. For sure. Cuz that. only happens once, maybe twice in the. season. And everybody knows like and and.
you got to trust the guys to block for. you. And it's guys, you know, it's guys. over there that their only mission is to. run through that guy and run through. you. So, yeah, if you have an. opportunity for that thing just pop over. your head and go out of bounds. That's. best case scenario. But yeah, and you. can't let your team down. So, you have. to go all out and whatever it takes. It's a tough tough. I had to actually. miss that cuz uh Reggie was the guy here. and Reggie went down with an injury. So, then I was the guy. I just went to him. like, "Coach, I'm going be honest. This. is not what's best for the team. You're. going to have you got to get somebody.
else." Cuz I had a situation before. fully exploded, flipped, landed on my. neck, blacked out, and I was like, "All. right, that's it." And and I never. thought I was going to have the. opportunity again. Back up. Reggie ain't. Reggie never misses gay. Hall of Famer. Boom. Hurt. Oh, yeah. Sorry, Mitch. I. can't do it. >> That's awesome. >> Yeah, that that's. >> Thank you for saying that for the good. of the team. >> Yeah, I had to. Yeah, I rather say it. then than on Sunday. Smart. >> Thank you for saying that. Honestly, >> this ain't me. >> I see I see why you think it's me. Really good hands, great athlete. >> I appreciate it. I respect that.
>> You're wrong. I got some PTSD from. something. >> Mhm. >> I got it. And then. >> Yeah. Can't be doing that. >> Hell no. >> Yeah. So, all I'm thinking on the other. side is I need to get this guy. >> exposed. >> Yeah. I need him getting absolutely. demolished. Sebastian Janikowski, best. high hopper I think in the history. because they played on that uh baseball. field there too. >> Yeah. >> So, he hit that thing off the dirt with. his left foot and that thing. >> big Sunday hop. >> Yeah. Sounded like a Exactly. It sounded. like a shotgun was going boom.
>> Immediate hop. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Immediate hop. Bang. He could do. it just in a full sprint, too, cuz he. didn't take steps. He's the most. interesting one of all time. Kicker of. all time. Didn't take steps. Just kind. of casually looked at it. Had a cannon. Attempted what a 75 yard when Lane. Keifin was out there for a 75 yard and. said, "Hey, I think I can do it." Yeah. Just he was the best. But he could. secret that thing. It looked like he was. just kicking off. And they were in a lot. of games where. >> who cares? >> Yeah. try it. >> So,
>> he was the best. Mason was really good. at it. Crosby, he had a great one. The. people that could like kind of just. blend it in where you couldn't tell if. it was coming or not was great. >> But I I'm happy to hear that from a. catcher that that was the worst one. because that was really the only one I. could do. The the one where they asked. >> Yeah, I've seen another one. I've seen. >> Oh, yeah. The middle dribble. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> That's a fun one. That's a That's a. really fun one. Could die there. But. instead, if nobody's there, you just. kind of get tagged and everybody's like, "Hey, good job." Oh, yeah. This is. amazing. And then you go to a special. teams coordinator on the sideline going,
"Fuck me." With a full face rub Thursday. night in Houston, Texas, man. We just score. >> on side to yourself back on the field. Zoom in on JJ's face on the on the big. jumbotron. What? What was that? The. best. I love that moment. That's a good. moment for me in the history of my life. Thank you for bringing that. >> Yeah. Yeah. It's great. It's great. It's. great. I'm a psych I'm like a psycho where I. like that I like going back on defense. So I'm like, "All right, cool." Like.
stupid. This just a dumb That's not how. you should think. >> Oh, he wants me back on the field. >> You're lucky, guys. >> That is what coach Hey, more TV time. Let's go. Let's go, boys. Drive up. >> Put out the fire. More TV time. All. right, J. We appreciate you, man. Uh, >> hey, >> you're the best. >> I appreciate you guys. I'm looking. forward. Anything any last thoughts on. your Colts for this weekend while I call. before I call the game against the. Steelers? Well, I would just like you to. not be clearly biased, which it feels. like you might have the instinct to be, you know, like subconsciously. >> I mean, it's it's not like it's it's my.
own brother's birthday or anything and. we're calling the Steelers game on his. birthday in the booth. It's going to be. the most biased broadcast of all time. What was he saying? He's just going to. be talking up his brother the whole. time. Everybody prepare. Get the tweets. ready. Can you believe they let him call. this game? What's wrong with this? >> Okay, I'll get the draft. I will head to. the drafts. I will start loading the. drafts up for what you're doing out. there in X. Uh what was Did you teach TJ. that? Hey, sometimes you got to get on. the headset and talk to the booth.
yourself. What do you think he was. saying here? >> Okay, we. >> No, this is not unusual. Maybe the maybe. the aggressiveness of the conversation. is, but like speaking to the defensive. coordinator on the headset is not. unusual at all. That's a very standard. normal thing. They just happen to catch. a uh quite fiery one. >> Okay, we have some breaking news here as. TJ's birthday game with his brother on. the call against the Indianapolis Colts.
fun. Uh he's Houston Texans bull ring of. honor. I'm sure this won't be biased at. all. We have breaking news on the way. out here. JJ. >> Eagles are sending two-time Pro Bowl. center Cam Jurgens in a 2027 seventh. round pick to the Ravens in exchange for. a 2027 fifth round pick and a 2028. >> second round pick. So Lane Johnson. retires. Wow. >> Now, Cam Jurgens. >> is a member of the Ravens. Good season, Phil. >> Fifth round and a second round pick. That's. >> Oh, yeah. The Ravens have lost three.
centers this year. So, the Ravens. definitely need a center, but this is an. interesting move. I mean, you're you. just lost two offensive linemen in one. day. >> We'll get to a break here. We'll digest. this. That's JJ Watt, ladies and. gentlemen. Abs, >> what's going on over there in. Philadelphia? >> It's all she wrote. They're punting on. the season. >> Dan O did say they are in rebuild. yesterday. >> Yeah, Dan O also guaranteed that uh. Devonte Smith would have 1,200 yards, 10. touchdowns, and 75 to 85 catches. Not. that I wrote it down. >> He still has time.
>> A lot of time. >> unless he gets traded. >> Jeez. >> Is it full sale in Eagle? >> No. >> Sure sounds like it. >> A lot of dead cap. >> We'll be back on the other side to. digest this news a little bit more. We'll also be joined by Jason Kelsey. Wow, perfect timing. Be a friend. Tell a. friend something nice. It might change. your life. I'll see you on the other. side.
You know what? I think there's only one. thing left to do here. I've experienced. cafesito time. I've experienced the. wonderful culture. I've experienced the. beautiful people. And I think we got. some canes over here. We got some pains over here. We got some canes over here. >> This day in Coral Gables is going to be. one that I will remember for the rest of.
my life. Ray Lewis started his dance. right here at Miami. Ed Reed started his. legendary run here at Miami. The legends of football run deep. The. moments are special. The national. championships are in abundance. Just. last year, a lovely University of Miami. woman diver from Italy won a national. championship. This thing's been staring.
at me all damn day. >> You're out of your mind, brother. This. is crazy. Kirk, I'm a little winded. I. was going to say. the whole time you were running. I'll. give you a chance to catch your breath. You [ __ ] You're crazy. >> I hope somebody got a life over there. >> Something. My man's out of breath. >> It is a long way. >> To the top. You're going to jump in and.
>> Are you going to jump in there? >> Oh my god. >> Yeah. So, >> I'm tired for you. >> Oh my. >> Oh, he's going to take the jacket off. Okay. >> Okay. Okay. >> Oh. Oh, he's taking the shirt off now. Okay. All right. All right. All right. >> Looking ripped. Looking ripped. Oh, he's. taking the drawers off. >> Ladies and gent, >> ladies and gentlemen, >> the. >> ladies and gentlemen, if you come to. this beautiful campus, you will notice.
quickly that the students here love this. university. They love this atmosphere. And I'm with everybody. I think the U is. back. Give me. >> He's got the speedo. Oh my. >> Give me the.
Canes, baby. >> Here he goes. >> Oh god. Here he goes. Feet together. Feet together. >> The following program is a collection of. stoes talking about happenings in the.
sports world. It is meant to be comedic. informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans is the real. world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further. >> Hey, >> let's go.
This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. >> McAfee on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers. >> You. start damn it. >> Your friend, tell a friend something. nice could change their life. sport. Hello beautiful people and welcome back. to our humo the draft kings thunderdome. on this massive breaking news Wednesday.
October 7th 2026 hour two of the sports. program begins now. >> football. >> is the best on the field and off the. field two massive trades have been made. from the Philadelphia Eagles to their. offensive line two household names as. offensive linemen have been traded away. from the city of brotherly love now or. one retired one traded away from the. city of brotherly love and Now, are the. Philadelphia Eagles facing a full. rebuild for a season in which they have. a lot of paid guys that could.
potentially be finding brand new homes? What is the next iteration of Nick. Serriani's Philadelphia Eagles look. like? Are we going to find out in real. time? Are there more moves to be made. from guys that have high contracts? And. if those guys are available, what teams. are going to get very good quick from. the addition of probably some Super Bowl. champs? The toxic table was here at. Boston Connor and at Tai Schmidt. Nine-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler. It's. crazy to think like this, but Lane. Johnson retires. >> Now Cam Jurgens, who had been playing.
guard, I believe, for the Philadelphia. Eagles, gets traded to the Ravens who. need a center. Two offensive linemen, two great offensive linemen in less than. 24 hours get traded away. Is this a flag. of uh punting is everybody saying? Are. they in a full rebuild or is this just. something that happened in real time and. they're trying to make a move? >> Uh, absolutely not. not a full rebuild, not waving the white flag. Still way, way too many talented players on that. team, and you have a quarterback, which. I know everybody thinks just sucks. He's. the worst quarterback in the league.
He's paid like a franchise quarterback. He is a franchise quarterback. You got a. a a Super Bowl winning head coach. No, you're not in a full rebuild. It's a. lot. Look, you lose some big plan. players. I think they'll turn it around. They'll start winning some games and. they'll be in it. When it comes to that. division at the end of the season, they'll find a way. Too many too many. good coaches and good players on that. team. >> AJ Brown Bryan gone. >> Cam Jurgens gone. >> Mhm. >> Lane Johnson retired. >> This Eagles team starting to look brand.
new, but they're also starting to maybe. open up some money. I I don't know how. we view the entire salary cap combo. We'll be talking to Jason Kelsey in. about seven minutes or so. 12 year 13. year 12 year 13ear. >> 12. >> 12 year NFL vet. Let me get away with 13. in the first hour. I appreciate you. doing that. add another 12-year NFL vet, Super Bowl champion AQ Shipley is here. >> AQ, we go in the trenches with you every. single week to talk about offensive line. play, losing two offensive linemen out. of a five group starting in like 24. hours. What does that do going forward? What should we expect from them going.
forward? >> Well, first off, let's talk Cam Jurgens, right? I remember when he first got. drafted, I remember seeing his film out. in Nebraska and it was a Jason Kelce. clone. I was like, "Oh, they just. they're just going to replace one guy. with the same guy for the next 15. years." He has turned in a pretty solid. career. He's been a really good center. Injuries happen. He gets moved to guard. Not as good at guard. It's tough being a. center and going to play guard. Your. arms aren't as long. You're in space. You're not used to having space. It's a. completely different world. He's been. out there. This is a wild trade for me. It really is. Now, they've lost Landon. Dickerson. So, you got to take your next.
best player, Cam Cam Jurgens, and then. move him over to guard, right? That's. the reason why they did it. But, you. lose Dickerson. He's been dealing with. injuries the last couple years. You lose. Lane Johnson due to retirement. And now. you lose this. This is three out of your. five. And you thought you were gonna. have a great offensive line going in. this year. And now you're playing with. basically all backups. You got Markeel. Bell now starting at one of the tackles. You got Steen who got banged up early in. the year on a pretty dirty play by a. defensive player. I'm just going to. throw that out there. But anyways, >> you know, whenever you talk about. Jurgens, this guy's a really good.
football player and they just let him. walk. And I I mean, it's a confusing. move for me for Philadelphia, but. Baltimore got a lot better. >> Yeah. So Baltimore now Cam Jurgens back. to center I think where he's most. comfortable with the Baltimore Ravens. who have enough talent and have shown on. the field that they can be one of the. best teams in all of ball. They get. better here at a position they needed. Right. >> Well listen when they lost Linderbal I. think they were kind of caught with. their pants down. I don't think they. were expecting that one. Then he signs. with the Raiders. They lose Linder Balm. and they're kind of scrambling. They end. up trying to you know do it fill that.
position by committee and then they. bring in Ethan Pochic and he gets hurt. I mean, they've had injury after injury. after injury where they're now starting. Wenger Yan Yawwani, uh, the rookie out. of Penn State, 15th pick overall who. they want to play at guard. They've been. starting him at center. Well, now he. gets to move back to guard and you bring. in a stud at center. >> He's Where'd he go to school? >> Penn State. Don't Let's keep it moving. >> How's that going? >> Saying we aren't. >> what? >> Really? Yeah.
>> We aren't Iowa State. >> Oh, Iowa State. That's what they're. saying. A lot of people are saying that. >> Oh, we aren't Iowa State. I thought they. were saying we aren't Penn State. Like, this is not what we are. Is that what. they're. >> They gave up 400 yards of rushing to. Northwestern. Good point. >> Northwestern's a good football team. >> Yes, they are. >> They were pounding. >> Let's talk about Northwestern Stadium. I. mean, that was that was special. >> That was special. They invested fully. >> They literally paying off. >> I don't want to talk about the stadium. I want to talk about the football. >> That's right. >> The hell's going on.
>> in the stadium? >> I mean, I I literally in the arena. >> I turned it on. I saw the score. I saw. 400 yards of rushing. I think I put out. that that tweet. I said 400 yards. rushing. I'm going to bed. >> Well, good night. Sleep tonight. Hopefully Penn State comes back at some. point. We thought it was going to be. this year. Joining us now is a man who. uh his Ohio State Buckeyes had quite a. weekend. His Ohio State Buckeyes found. themselves at top of Tone's above. average poll. His Ohio State Buckeyes. might win a natty this year. And he's. not just a college legend. No. No. This. guy's an all-time leading tackler for.
the Green Bay Packers. I assume he's. going to have some thoughts on the. change happening in Philadelphia right. now. Ladies and gentlemen, father of 10. That's right. 10 kids. Best friend of. Aaron Rogers. >> Mhm. >> Fresh haircut yesterday. >> Should still look good. >> Grilled chicken and rice. No salt, please. AJ Hawk. >> Yay. >> Hawk. >> How you doing, Hawk? >> I'm not scared of salt. I mean, I'm not. Dan Orlovski when it comes to nutrition. and how I eat. So, I understand you do.
put me in that same category. That's. fine. But, uh, there's no way there's no. you don't rebuild when you have your. franchise quarterback on the roster and. he is healthy. Have we ever seen a. rebuild when you have your franchise guy. and he doesn't get hurt? >> No. Yeah. And maybe this Cam Jurgens. deal was just too good to be true. They. get a second rounder in 2028. They get a. fifth rounder in 2027. So, maybe a. little delay for the 2028 second round. pick, but he can use that this year to. trade to potentially make another play. for whatever they end up doing. But. yeah, Devonte Smith's out there. He's.
supposed to be their number one. Zack. Herz comes back at tight end because. they had some injuries there. Jaylen. Herz is there. Saquon Barkley's still. there. You would think the defense still. has some studs across the board and. maybe be able to figure it out. They've. been horrendous, I guess, on third. downs. There's been certain situations. where they haven't been good, but losing. now I completely forgot about Landon. That was a couple weeks ago. Now losing. three of your starting five offensive. linemen in a very quick period start the. season. That's tough to come back from. I think everybody that knows ball that's. why everybody who. >> Stoutland too before the season.
>> Yeah. And Stoutland's not their. offensive line coach anymore. So it it. is very much like uh this feels like a a. tough obstacle for the Philadelphia. Eagles to continue on a journey to a. Super Bowl. It feels like they're. putting themselves into which I think. why everybody's saying is this a rebuild. that's happening because this is a tough. feat to get past if you want to win a. Super Bowl this year. We think. >> Oh, very much so. I mean, we talk about. offensive line play, like continuity is. the biggest thing. Like those guys. getting reps together, especially reps. in games. I think you learn so much. about how each other plays and how you.
have to work together. But they, you. know, the Eagles have to have a plan, right? They they've shown that they can. win. Like there's some kind of plan that. we don't see that we don't understand. behind the scenes. Whatever they're. doing, maybe we'll maybe they'll open up. and let us know at some point. >> Yeah, I guess I we're going to have to. watch it all unfold. Jaylen Herz has his. 10th play caller in 11 years uh of. football. So obviously there's been a. lot of change for him. Now the whole. offensive line is changing. We thought. Lane Johnson would be the huge story of. the day. It still is. Now also add Cam. Jurgens to that list. Uh the Buffalo.
Bills heading into Monday night are uh. three-point underdogs. >> in Los Angeles. This would be the. biggest underdog that Josh Allen would. have been since December 12th, 2021 on. the road whenever he traveled to take on. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So, a lot of. people really like the Rams over the. Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. Is that because the Rams are all the way. back? Is that what people are thinking?
Or are they worried about the Bills. defense and what Matthew Stafford with. Puka Nakua being back and Kairen. Williams kind of in his own zone is. going to be able to do to the Bills? >> Yeah, you talk about that Rams offense. at the top of the league. You talk about. production yards per game is still not. playing their best ball, but now going. to that second game with Puka and. Devonte and that Bills secondary, those. corners have been getting exposed, you. know, all year long. So, I would assume. that's the reason why. And that the Rams. secondary, Rams defense, I think, is. pretty good. Not playing their best ball. yet. Interested to see if Aaron Donald. will be out there on the field as well,
but that that that that stat is. alarming. I mean, I know Josh Allen is a. very very very good quarterback, but. since 2021, >> a lot of people say Josh Allen gets. taken and treated differently everybody. else on TV. All the sports books feel. the same way. Here's Ben Fox with the. information. The Buffalo Bills currently. three-point dog. That'll be the biggest. underdog Josh Allen has been in game. nearly five years. They like Josh Allen. Joe Brady and Josh Allen we think are. going to be good. Fresh off a dub over. the Bills. Are the Bills dead? con man. Is that what everybody's saying? >> No, they'll never be dead as long as.
Josh Allen's playing quarterback and. they got James Cook. And I I think one. of the things is they're kind of banged. up. Like DJ Moore, he left the game last. week. He didn't return. I'm assuming he. might be out this week as well. That's a. big reason for it. But I I mean, they've. won 12 to 13 games every year since, you. know, 2021, so it's not that shocking. But yeah, it's hard to imagine the Rams. don't put up 40 points just because it. seems as though every single team has. had a lot of success against their. defense. AJ, have you seen the weather. this weekend for down there in the. south, more specifically Alabama for the.
Georgia Bama game? It looks like there. might be some first three weeks of. college football or two weeks we had. weather delays. First three weeks, I. think. >> I want to say first three weeks, >> weather delays, long ones, >> big ones. >> There were some really long ones. And. there was a lot of conversation about. like ratings and stuff. It's like you. get a two and a half, three hour delay. in one of the main games, that's going. to back everything else up. And every it. is, it's been a little bit of a slow. start because of weather. They're. talking about it this weekend in a huge. way down there for Georgia Bama and. obviously game days down there and. there's a lot of other festivities, but.
is are we in this time now? Is this. hurricane season now? Debug, have we. been in it? And when is the the meat of. it? I don't really know hurricanes that. well. >> We've been in it. I want to say it ends. in November, but I'm not absolutely. sure, but I want to say November it. ends. But yeah, we're football season. We're in it for sure. Let's head over to. hammer dad. AP Tone. Obviously, we know you're a. weather um enthusiast. Uh how should we. view what's going on and is this what. the next few weeks look like down in the.
south or what is your take on it as a. man who hosts Hammer down a sports. gambling podcast that happens every day. after our show ends. >> Yeah. to uh add on Debbut's point there. We are smack dab in the middle of. hurricane season, but this is actually. this would actually be the first. hurricane of the season, which was the. latest hurricane uh in a long long time. as far as hurricane season is concerned. It's been a quiet hurricane season so. far. Um and then yes, it it ends end of. uh November. So yeah, we're smack dab in.
the middle of it. You know, they they. talk about the projections and the. forecasts, but it feels like it's kind. of doubting right now that this is going. to make landfall late Friday night. Saturday uh into the Gulf Coast, the. panhandle of Florida. So, yeah, maybe. we'll get an expert on, but yeah, that's. kind of my read on it so far. >> Yeah, that expert, we know who that. expert potentially will be. Yeah, Mr. K. and Thor have to have him stop by and. break it all down for us. Alabama says. continue to monitor the situation as we. are. This is the type of stuff that. happens during football season as.
weather continues to, >> you know, cook down in the south coming. out of hurricane season. We hope. everybody will be all right and uh we. will continue to keep people informed. because our lives also very much. invested in this situation happening in. Tuscaloosa. Speaking of lives being. invested in situations, current. Philadelphia situation, Lane Johnson. retires last night and now Cam Jurgens. has been traded to the Baltimore Ravens. You've pieced that with Landon Dickerson. earlier in the season. A lot of new. faces at offensive line. Let's go to the.
most famous Philadelphia Eagles. offensive lineman. A man who would be a. first ballot hall of famer, Super Bowl. champion, member of Monday Night. Countdown, and also calling the. International Games in London this year. on NFL Network, which he did a flawless. job. Next to Kurt Warner, David Pash, and Molly McGrath on the field, the big. man, Jason Kelce. Hey, first of all, >> what's up, guys? >> We'd like to celebrate you and. everything that you're doing. Uh, but. obviously Cam Jurgens getting traded. today. Lane Johnson retiring last night.
Uh, let's start with the Cam Jurgens. trade before we dive into Lane Johnson. Cam Jurgens was there to, I believe, be. your air apparent uh at center. I think. you were even a part of the scouting. process to bring him to the Philadelphia. Eagles. Whenever we were on the Monday. Night Football call, you and Cam had. great conversations. Learning of this, I. assume very recently because I know. you've been doing stuff overseas there. Your just first thoughts on what's. happening in Philly. >> Yeah. Um yeah, I just found out about.
this 10 minutes ago. Um you know, obviously Cam has been playing guard and. playing out of position the last few. games in Philadelphia. Um I'm excited for him to be able to go. back to the center position. Right. He's. playing out of position, not playing the. best football and up to his standard. Goes down with a concussion, so he gets. to kind of get a fresh start in. Baltimore. Um, you know, it's a guy that. meant a lot to the Philadelphia Eagles. Won a Super Bowl, played through injury. Um, played with the back last year. This.
is a guy that's been very tough and very. durable in terms of like what he's. played through for the Philadelphia. Eagles. So, I look forward to seeing him. uh what he can do in Baltimore and. everything they have going on this year. as well. Yeah. So, Baltimore gets an. upgrade at center. They need it. And. sounds like Cam is going to be back to. the position that he's supposed to play. at center. Philadelphia Eagles, though, now within 24-hour period, lose two. pillar offensive linemen. Lane Johnson's. retirement yesterday, I think, surprised. all of us. Brandon Graham mentioned. something on his show uh immediately.
after the Eagles game about what he had. heard and what's possible. I know you're. very tight with Lane Johnson. when you. see he does retire as you're overseas, what is your messaging to him and how do. you kind of feel as this all is. unfolding in real time? >> Yeah, I mean my thing is I just me my. messaging to him is just you know hey I. love you brother you had an amazing. career you know couldn't be more proud. to be involved in it and you know have. been by your side for as long as I was. and how long I got to watch you play. I.
think he's the epitome of what the right. tackle position is. his pass blocking. I. don't care about it. I mean, there's. nobody that was a better pass blocker in. my opinion than Lane Johnson. Um, you. know, in my opinion, he's a Hall of. Famer, not just an Eagles Hall of Famer. He's one of the best to do it over this. stretch. I don't think he ever got the. credit he deserved on a national level. He was starting to get it later in his. career. Um, but just a great person, a. great teammate to me. Like, we were way.
closer than just being on the field. So, um, I really am trying to look at all. these great things that he's. accomplished throughout his career. I. know the timing is not ideal. You know, you're in the middle of a season, all. that. And sometimes circumstances. happen, life doesn't unfold the way it. always, you know, you want it to, but it. happens. And I think he should be able. to look back and I certainly look back. at his career with just, you know, could.
not be prouder for what he put on the. field and to be able to play next to. him. >> A lot of commitment and contributions to. sport. He should be wildly proud of what. he did on the field. We talked to JJ. Watt a little bit. We talked about it. The decision to retire is very. difficult. Very, very difficult, especially if you're good. Okay? A lot. of times the game will tell you when. you're done. That happens right for the. first time for a lot of guys they are. told by the game by a team you don't. have it anymore get very jaded for the. guys that still have it which it appears.
Lane Johnson does by all accounts. everybody's saying he's still playing. great football and AQ said if he was a. 60% Lane Johnson I I mean he's still a. starter in the NFL probably a top 10 guy. >> in the NFL so the decision to retire for. you I know was very difficult right for. you is a very difficult one. >> and for Lane I think I think that's. something that lane has probably been. cooking on for this didn't just come. overnight I don't think right is what. I'm trying to say I think this is. something that has been in the back of. his mind yeah. >> he's going into year this is his 14th.
season right you know I think whenever. you get older in your career it's. something you think about I certainly. thought about it for the last four years. before I ended up making the decision. it's you know becomes really hard to. play football um you know when you get. to be on the north side of 35 years old. especially up front on the offensive. line position you're playing through. things and you you know, your life has. changed. There's a lot that's going on. And um yeah, I don't I remember talking. to Lane for many years about when I whe.
what was right for me to stop playing. and we've certainly had those. discussions with Lane before. Um so, everybody goes down that road and. arrives at that destination on their. own. Well, not necessarily. Like you. just said, some most people don't get. the opportunity to make the decision. It's forced on them. He's one of the few. players that was so good that, you know, everybody still is chomping at the bit. to get him to play. And, you know, but. the reality is if you're not 100% in, if. you're not all in, this is a sport.
that's very hard to do. And, you know, I. trust that, you know, he felt like it. was the time to to stop and. that's where that's where it goes. >> AJ has a question for you, Jason. >> Yeah. As far as Lane on the field, Jason, like how do you I know you can't. replace him. Like you said, he's going. in 14 years playing forever. They're. such a stalwart out there, I guess. What's this Eagles offensive line to do. with all this everything moving around. during the season? Like, how difficult. is that to come together and actually. put a good product out there? >> Extremely difficult. I mean, AJ, you.
know, so much of one guy doing their job. on the offensive line is relying on the. guy next to him. and the years that we. have really struggled offensively and. some of the years like you know Andy. Reed last year in Philadelphia Jason. Peters goes on IR went on IR Todd. Haramman's went on IR at one point when. you have injuries especially to three. guys two guys it really starts to be. difficult look at it look what Green. Bay's been going through to start the. season it's it it wears on you makes. everybody else's job harder you need.
continuity up front uh to really excel. so obviously Lane retiring Landon. Dickerson going down now. Cam Jurgens is. getting traded. Uh, you know, Chris. Cooper has his hands full to try and get. this thing going. The offensive line. coach for Philadelphia Eagles. Um, you. know, it's not the easiest situation or. circumstances to be a part of for sure. >> Yeah. And that city is really patient. Go ahead, Ty. >> Yeah, Jason. I think yeah I I think you. said in your retirement press conference. I can't remember what player you were.
talking about but you basically said. like hey early on in my career I figured. out that like if you're not playing hard. or like you loaf on a play or something. like the Philadelphia fans will see that. and they will let you hear it until you. know things change now every game they. lose you hear all the stuff on social. media and in the media about coach Siri. and hey they got to fire this guy and. you guys have done a great about. blocking out that noise and. understanding what it's like in Philly, but how difficult do you think it is for. him when it's like, hey, I've won a.
Super Bowl. I've been to another. Like, at what point does that no that noise. almost like you can't block it any you. can't block it out anymore and it. becomes a detriment? Like, how do you. think he's dealing with that right now? >> Yeah, I'm not I there's a lot of people. that say to block out the noise. I'm I I. don't I've never been one that's taken. that mindset. Um, I think it is what it. is. I think when you're a player and. you're comfortable with who you are and. you're confident, you understand what's.
real and what's not. And when somebody's. spouting off about things that they. don't know what they're talking about, usually that never offended me by too. much. When it's truthful and there's. things that are, listen, the fans aren't. always wrong. Sometimes the fans do know. what they're talking about and sometimes. it's a parent and sometimes you as a. player or a coach or or or uh you know a. media whatever it is you you need to. look at things objectively and like how. can I be better what can I do to improve.
all that stuff maybe there is truth to. certain things maybe there's other times. where it's like hey I'm happy with what. I did I think that was the right thing. or I'm happy with how I'm playing I went. through it in 2016 the whole city wanted. to trade me I wasn't playing Well, I. there's I could look at that. retroactively and be like, "Okay, uh you. know, I wasn't getting the job done.". Now, does that suck? Does that suck suck. to come to that realization that you're. not playing well enough? You're not. being a good enough play uh you know, player for your teammates? Yeah, that.
sucks. But all you can do then is just. move forward and try and improve. I move. forward. 2017 was the best year of my. career. You end up winning a Super Bowl. and you know, not a lot of people. talking about training me after that. So, as a player, as a coach in any city, but even in Philadelphia, you write the. narrative, man. That's just the reality. of it. What happens out on the field, if. you go out there and dominate, they're. going to have to write that story. So, save me the Saab stories sometimes about.
what WIP is saying on the radio and all. this other stuff. At the end of the day, go out there and do it. You're in the. controlling seat. Now, they do have some. injuries which makes it a little bit. harder, but. >> yeah, the Eagles fans. >> that's the way I overall think about it. >> The Eagles fans certainly take into. account the injuries and the current. situation and everything that's. happening. Uh especially with a guy who. I think gets a lot of heat, I guess, nationally. I don't know how it is in. Philly. Super Bowl MVP. Go ahead, Dud. >> Yeah, he talked about being in that.
control seat. Franchise quarterback. Jaylen Herz. Now, he literally made me a. fan of the Eagles going back about 5. years when he became the starter. Uh, how does he what does he kind of like. behind the scenes? How does he handle I. guess the noise? Because he's been. dealing been the two Super Bowls and now. even some people are saying some people, oh, they're rebuilding right now. They. still got their franchise quarterback in. the building. So, tell me about Jaylen, I guess, behind the scenes as a leader. in the quarterback. >> Yeah, Jaylen does a great job of uh not. giving a crap what anybody says. He's. one of the best at it. Um, I think uh I.
don't know what his strategy is as far. as like dealing with it, but coming into. the building, that guy just wants to get. better each and every day. He works his. tail off. I have a tremendous amount of. respect for how Jaylen goes about trying. to be the best football player he can. be. Um, offensively, they need to fix. some things. There ain't no question. I. mean, they're 0 for 12 on third down. this past week. Um, and a lot of it the. last two weeks, you know, these third. down all mugged up positions where. sometimes it's going to be a blitz zero,
sometimes it's going to be a bailout, sometimes it's free safety and will. week. They need to be handling these. situations better. That's partly on. Jaylen, part of it on the offensive. line, part of it's on having answers to. all that stuff. But as far as Jaylen and how he is in. the building behind the scenes, he's one. of the most dedicated people to his. craft that I've been around. His. temperament is here and at times when. things aren't going well, you want some. of that fire to come up. But I think. that's also been one of the reasons when.
we are winning, he is he's got one of. the best two-minute drill percentages in. the league. He's won in big games. And. that's cuz he doesn't let stuff get to. him. That guy's as cool as the underside. of a pillow, man. He is he he doesn't. get rattled over anything. >> The underside, not the other side. A. more accurate description, the. underside. >> You know, yeah, the underside. Whenever. we middle of the night, you got a little. sweat on that side.
>> Flip this bad boy around. Fluff this up. a little bit. Hey, these hotel pillows, >> man. >> Oh my gosh. >> They quit. They quit on you. >> They quit on you. I The thing that. really gets me going, I cannot stand. when the thermostat is a regulator. I. want that room like an ice box. And I. have paid for that ice spot. This is. ridiculous. >> Are you traveling with a fan? Are you. traveling with a fan? >> I have been known to travel with a fan. I don't know.
>> I wish I do. Wish I do. >> That's the best. Anytime you see. somebody walking into a hotel room with. like a big ass college dorm like fan, it's like that [ __ ] runs so hot right. there. That guy. >> Well, they don't have AC in London. >> Yeah, exact. Well, let's talk about. that. Uh AQ has a question for you now. over in uh London Town. >> What's up, Kelsey? Hey. Uh. >> so you get your first kind of moment in. the booth, right? You get my Arizona. guys, you got Dave Pass, you got Kurt. Warner. First, can you talk about your.
your time in the booth this weekend and. also what it's like being in a threeman. booth. >> It was awesome, man. I didn't know uh. you know what to expect. It's so. different than anything else I've ever. done. Um, and I am so, dude, I'm so. lucky that I had Dave and Kurt in here. to guide me through this whole process. And especially in the booth this last. week, you know, it's a nerv. nerve-wracking thing. You're going in. there, you got to offer something in a. short window. It's got to be concise. It's got to be informative. It's got to. be something that you're giving the. viewer. And man, Kurt and Dave both like.
even just like I'd be in there. I could. tell I'm getting robotic. And I could. tell that Kurt knows I'm getting. robotic. and he would just do something. like say my name like hey Jason what do. you think about and I'm like right away. bring it back to just talking ball and. you know those guys it it was awesome to. work with both of them I thought the. game it was so much fun to do uh I was I. was so nervous in that first quarter now. I'm like all right don't don't mess this.
up Jason don't talk it's we're live on. air boys bullets are flying families are. watching uh but it it was it was a good. time for sure. >> who do you have this week. Now, >> we uh we have the Philadelphia Eagles. We have the Philadelphia Eagles as well. as the uh Jaguars. >> Playing really good ball. Really good. ball right now. >> Yeah, >> Eagles. Eagles are defense got a little. bit better this last week than Chicago. >> Uh missing a few guys, missing more guys. now on offense. So, uh. >> yeah, it'll be a fun game to watch.
>> Well, maybe you guys bring this guy into. the booth for Eagles Jags to start our. Sunday. >> Coach doesn't kick a field goal. bad. coaching again. Sirriani blew the game. again for the for the. >> onsmos. >> I love this man. >> I love this mode. >> Now, thinking about the Eagles overseas, you got to think about the John's in. London. Go ahead, Con Man. >> Yeah, it should be pretty dangerous. Hopefully, everyone kind of keeps their. cool. I don't see that happening, but. hopefully. What are you kind of looking.
for in this upcoming game, though, Jason? Is it kind of one of those things. where like, hey, everything's going. wrong for Philly, so because of that, we're all thinking they're going to get. killed, so because of that, they're. going to end up winning the game. Or the. Jacks have been rolling so well. They're. in there for two weeks now in uh London. What are you kind of you looking for in. this game? >> Yeah, I mean, the big thing I'm looking. for from Philadelphia's perspective is I. want to see what their answers are on. third down, right? They struggled last. week really bad, even the week before uh. in the Saints game. you know, they've.
they've struggled with this all mugged. up pressure look and dropping out and. they need to figure that out. I'm. looking to see how they answer it this. week. Um, as far as uh the Jags, man, they're they're rolling. I'm really. enjoying watching their offense. Trevor. Lawrence has had quite the career. resurgence with Liam Con. Uh, and then. their defense, man, they're the best. rush defense in the NFL right now. Uh, it's I'm looking forward to watching the. matchup. Uh, the Eagles, I really want. to see how they respond offensively, defensively. big test for, you know, Vic Fanjo and.
these guys. How do they rebound? Had a. great first half last week against the. Rams. Didn't finish the game off. So, you know, it'll be a good one to watch. for sure. And London, >> are you in London right now? Are you. still over there? >> I'm in London. I am at a a bar called. Woodpecker. Uh the nice uh one of the. nice women downstairs allowed me to use. the flat so I could come on and talk to. you guys because uh it's it's noisy down. there. So, shout out to the woodpecker. and uh Miss Lady for letting you be what.
what are you doing over there all week? Are you doing London or how long are you. staying and all that type of [ __ ]. >> Well, we were there. We got in last week. obviously to call last week's game. I'm. playing rugby tonight. Going to go out. and play a rugby match. >> where where under the lights with the. real team. What level? >> Full contact. >> Well, it's I think it's a community kind. of community leagues, beer leagues type. thing. You know, that's you know, it'll. be a good little match. I've always. heard that rugby players are tougher. than football players. So, figured I'd. put it to the test. See what it's like.
>> I don't like that you're saying that. publicly. It feels like there's going to. be a lot more of them than there is you. We should have talked about this after. the game, maybe that you were trying to. >> All right. He's a good representative. >> 92. 92%. You're the greatest scrummer in. the history of our sport. >> Get liquored up first. >> Yeah. You need to be boozing with them. as well. Let them know we also have that. in our bag if we need it as well. >> Absolutely. No, we we know how to do. both of these things. Yeah, we can get. it done. >> Do you know the sport well? Do you know. rugby well? >> I I I just got a crash course from Joe.
Marlor, legendary prop for the English. Yep. Played 17 years. Just taught me. everything in a span of an hour and a. half. We'll see how it goes. >> How's the body? How's the body? >> Feels terrible. I did take that last. some anti-inflammatories are heavy. They're running through the veins. We'll. see how they go. I got uh I got my buddy. Bo Allen with me. He's gonna be out. there too soon. I'm not out there by. myself,
>> Alona Mar. Actually, I got to give Alona. a shout out. She gave me some pointers. as well. So, yeah, it'll be a. >> I don't know what to expect. I really. don't. It's kind of like going in the. booth. >> I want to get Kurt Warner to come by and. do some playbyplay or something. >> This is the guy that was teaching you. earlier today. Joe Mer, right? What? BJ Molly, >> what was that? AJ, >> is he on your team? I hope you're not. playing against this dude. >> No, no, he's he's not playing. He's not. playing.
>> Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. So, >> big dude, though. >> What What you said? He's a prop. That. guy, that's his position. He's a prop. position. Is that what you're playing? >> Uh I'm a. I'm playing the eight, which I'm forget. the name of that, but essentially I'm a. big guy that's just going to kind of run. through the line and then tackle the. other team. essentially is the only job. I'm going to be doing. >> So, you're staying in the middle or are. you going to be Cuz the middle feels. like where it gets a little bit uh heavy. and then you try to get that thing. outside, right? Which is where all the. >> powerhouse back row forward.
>> You're a powerhouse back row. >> Yes, you are. >> It sounds like a great position. I'm. excited about it. >> You're I don't want to give away too. much, but you've been doing a lot of. contact sport here this year. >> Can I give away what you were doing in. San Diego? Um, well that was in Houston. >> Oh, sorry. >> Uh, but uh, yeah, why not? Sure. Go for. it. >> I think he did some sumo and wrestling. >> Oh, hell. >> I think. Right.
>> That's right. I was with your guys, Ichi. >> That's right. >> How was it? How was it out there? >> It was uh It was awesome, man. These. guys taught me uh how first of all, how. to put the mashi on, which I had no idea. how to do that. >> That's a that's an experience. Very um. intrusive. >> Uh then we got after it. We got it's. very similar. AQ, you'd be interested. I. feel like we should have been doing some. of these sumo drills for O line play, brother. >> It translates. >> There's some good. >> it some of it. Not much for pass. blocking, but run blocking. Yeah,
there's some translation. >> That that that's what I was literally. talking to Pat before the show cuz I was. like, listen, like run block it's like. flat back, but I feel like they're. always bellyto belly like belt buckle to. belt buckle. So like I I'm curious how. this translates. I I was very curious. And is that what you're trying to do is. figure out how to become a better. offense? Because rugby is a lot of. scrumming, which you did. Sumo is this. Are you just doing all bodytobody. sports to figure out leverage? >> Well, these are just all sports I've. always wanted to do. In high school, I. played any sport they put a helmet on, right? Lacrosse, yes. Hockey, yes.
Football, yes. So, now I get to do all. the other contact sports I never got to. try. Uh, sumo, I've always been. interested in like, what the heck is. this? How what how do you do that? Rugby. my dad played so I still remember going. to uh you know a field when I was a. little kid and watching him go out there. and do it. So I'm just having fun doing. things that I've always wanted to try. Sumo AQ. some of the guys go flatback and but. usually the bigger you are you just want. to get belly to belly and grab them.
>> Yeah. >> So on the bigger guys like Ichi, my man. Zorig told me you got to work half a. man. You got to kind of get on half of. the surface. >> You're working an ace block. You're. working in ace block. >> Exactly. Exactly, brother. >> I love this talk. >> Yeah, America. >> I needed this in my life today. >> Yes, we did. Sumo ace block strategy. No. problem. You see each in a hole. We're. halfing that guy. We saw him in a half. Then we're moving up to the next one. Jason, good luck out there. You did. great in the booth. We miss you on. Monday night countdown. We'll see you.
down the road. >> I miss you guys, too. Can't wait to be. back. Um, thanks for having me, Pat. Thanks, everybody. Ladies and gentlemen, Jason Kelsece. >> Jason Kelsey. >> Yeah. He showed up at Monday Night. Countdown. >> and uh I was like, "How's it been, man?". Because I just got done sumo wrestling. your guy. And I was like, "How's that happen?" And he was like, "And I'm going to play rugby next week. when I'm over there." And I'm like, "So, are you trying to like create the. greatest leverage athlete of all time. right now? Like trying to take from all. the different uh techniques of that.
would be a good I assume that's a good. TV show. I I assume that I hope he's. filming. He is. >> I assume so. >> I like that his dad played when he was. young, so he at least has a little. knowledge of the sport because I gave. him a full text message about him. representing America cuz he is. potentially our best scrummer of all. time. 92%. >> He seems like a great size, too, cuz he. can move. Like he absolutely can move, too. But how being like, yeah, I think. he's going to be very good at rugby. >> Okay. So, his dad being a rugby player. makes sense for the tush push.
>> A lot of sense. >> Yeah. Like why is the tush push maybe. not as successful without Jason Kelsey? Well, he's been scrumming since he's a. little lad and he also has football goat. type technique. >> Yeah, it's unbelievable the technique. that he had and getting in like that. four-point stance, having his head. underneath. It's all about leverage. It's all about lowman wins. Problem is a. lot of these centers, right? Like they. they're a little higher and then they. try and go low. Well, if you if you. don't start low, he started low. I think. that was like a big piece to the puzzle. Yeah, his face was just hovering over.
the football and it as he was. >> and they've really cracked down on that. I've seen more off sides on offensive. lineman this year than I have in the. past 10 years combined. Like it does. feel as though the tush push styles kind. of gone and now it's like, hey, the. tight end is going to take the. quarterback by the hips and plant them. in one of the gaps and we're just going. to fall forward. >> Ladies and gentlemen, let's pivot away. from rugby and football to the sweet. science. >> What an honor. right now. Actually, joining us, one of the biggest names in. the history.
of boxing. >> Mhm. >> He's quick, he's fast, he's an icon, he's wealthy cuz how great he is. He's. been a pro since he was 15 years old. Has a fight on October 31st in Riad, Saudi Arabia, taking on Christian Imili. Ladies and gentlemen, 63 wins. former. four title champion of the world. Ladies. and gentlemen, Canelo Alvarez.
>> Canelo. >> Thank you. Thank you guys. >> Hey, >> glad to be with you guys. Thank you. >> Hey, thank you for. >> Good presentation. Thank you. >> Not bad, right? Good introduction there. of you. I was trying to pay it all off. because the history obviously matters, the future matters, and then also I was. spinning them things, you know, just a. showcase that I got. >> It was very good. >> Thank you. Thank you. If you could teach. me how to golf and box someday and make. me a better man. But let's talk about. you and your boxing career. Obviously, your name is synonymous with the sport. at this stage. You're 36. Have a massive. fight here against a knockout artist.
who's younger than you by a bit and has. less fights than you. How do you prepare. for this coming into uh October 31st? And how do you feel at 36 versus maybe. whenever you were 21, 22, 30 even? How. do you. >> know? I feel I I feel like I'm 26, but. uh with experience, more experience, I feel great. I feel great. I've been. training here in Gandhia in Spain and. with all this technology and my body is.
great. My body is in a great position. and and you know, I've been training. very hard for this fight because MC. Billy is is a is that kind of fighters. go forward, throw a lot of punches, strong and and and I'm going to need a. lot of stamina for for this fight and. and and and. to be prepared for for for whatever he. brings. >> Let's talk about the stamina. That's. your thing. And boxers, outrageous.
cardio. Anytime somebody that isn't a. boxer gets into boxing, they just say, "Well, this person's going to peter out. basically at some point and not be able. to make it cardio-wise." I think I read. you were you've been boxing since you. were 13, professionally since you were. 15, and you've been with Eddie Reoso. through the entirety of it. Has your. conditioning and cardio been this way. since you were a kid? Is this a main. focal point still at 36? How how do you. kind of separate your training with. Eddie who's been around you your whole. life? >> No, Eddie and I, we we been together my.
whole life. I I started with him since I. was 13 and and yeah, I turned from at. 15. So, it's been a long time. It's been. a a long boxing career. But, you know, I've been in in in. fighting for world champion since I was. 20. So, it's 16 years already. So, um. and you know, we we we know how to. prepare. We know how to train to to get.
ready for these kind of fights and and. when you know your body, you know your. body. So, but these times we we change a. little bit with with the technology, you. know, right now the technology is great. and we adapt ourselves to that and and. we feel great. We feel great and we we. almost ready to to to to get in my 100%. >> October 31st is the fight. Go ahead, AJ. >> Yeah, you mentioned that technology.
What how has that changed and what is. it? Is it training? Is it when how. you're watching film of your opponent. like what's the technology? >> Yeah, obviously we watch our opponent. We have the sparings uh with the with. the same style and and you know um. they have all the technology. How you going to get better and better. in every training? Every week is better. So.
we test our body, my body, we test we. test my body and my body is 100% my. muscles, my brain, my my my condition, everything to to to. put it in in in in in a good training. So all that technology help me for. because be before you train like.
like everybody you know right now with. the technology. you train a specific for your for for. for your body because every every single. body is different. >> and you you need to train. just especially for your body and that's. That's what I'm doing right now. >> Everybody's max is different at. different times. So, if you can find out. what a max is for this particular day. and then. >> Yeah. And then we got to push the max.
the next day. And then obviously we're. just trying to see that go up and to the. right no matter where we start at. >> and and what is that what is the best. train condition and everything for my. body? >> Yeah. So that you know when that thing. gets in the 10th round. >> 11th round put got to put hands up a. little. >> Oh yeah. Yeah. Oh, sorry. Yeah. Well, my. hands will drop down there. You know, I. start doing that. I I do virtual You uh. You ever box in the Oculus? You ever go. in the Oculus and box. >> and what?
>> Oh, no. >> Ugly Joe. >> No. >> Ever heard of him? >> The virtual reality boxing. You put the. glasses on. >> Oh, I did once and the guy knocked me. out. >> Oh, it's not realistic. >> So, this the only time. >> I think Joe, he's a problem. >> Hey, I got I got ideas for you. Hey, I've knocked out every guy in there. Every. >> But if you want to do in real real life, real life, just come to my training camp. and we can do it. I helped you. >> Sure. >> I'm sure you would. Yeah, I'm sure you.
would. I get tattooed. Imagine my whole. body. >> One liver shot just. >> just crumbling in there. This is much. different than virtual reality. Happy to. hear you're going well without the super. modern technology. You know, I would box. you in virtual reality though. No. problem. Don't need to be touched by. those hands ever. >> Maybe you you you beat me there. Yeah. >> Yeah. Maybe. >> there's a chance. >> He said it. >> Yeah. Let's go ahead and clip that for. the rest of the time. I wouldn't. And. you'd beat me on a golf course, too. And. anything else you want to compete.
against me and you would win, which I. don't love. Debut has a question for. you. Canelo. >> Yeah. Champ, so many fights under your. belt, so many training camps. Has there. been any, you talked about different. with technology. Has there been any. major changes with this fight camp in. particular? And then secondly, with so. many fights in your belt, do you still. kind of get nervous or butterflies. before stepping into that ring? >> Oh, the butterflies. Yes. You know, I. love boxing. and the butterflies still there, you. know, is something I cannot explain.
As an athlete, you can you know. >> Oh, yeah. >> But yeah, but it's still there. The. butterfly is still there. I love boxing. I love being in there and and and. compete. and and the changes is that just train. for what my body need and and that's the. changes and I feel I feel very good. >> Tell me when you're walking in the whole. world is watching you walk. What is.
happening in between the ears as we're. about to fight? What what is the are you. >> Nothing. >> Nothing. >> Focus on the fight. Focus on win. Focus. on the win because if you focus on. people, focus on what is happening. outside then you're [ __ ]. >> Yeah, I'd say true, >> man. Amen. Connor has a question for. you. >> Yeah, Canel, obviously very difficult. going through camps and everything. So, after your, you know, last fight with. Crawford, how long do you take off? Do. you take a couple months where you're. just golfing, hanging out, enjoying. life? Like, what is kind of the downtime.
like for you in between camps? >> You know, boxing is my life. I always. try to be in shape and I train. I have. surgery in my elbow so I need to take a. little bit off of training. But yes, just thinking and and think what. mistakes I made and go forward and and. and and. keep improving improve and and and.
try to be in shape. I is my lifestyle is. that been is boxing and. take care about my body. Eat healthy, rest and train. That's all about. >> unbelievable commitment to sport at this. age of 36 starting whenever you're 15. That's 21 years of commitment to body to. sport. We appreciate that. And at this. stage your name is like fight of.
century, fight of century, fight of. century. We're learning about immigr. >> Yeah. Canelo, how has that evolved over. the course of your career? Because for. someone who's watched you back, you. know, like I remember when you fought. Floyd Mayweather and then you had the. trilogy with Triple G and then Bud. Crawford. Like it always is. Anytime. your name is associated with a fight, it's hey, this is a Canelo super fight. How has that evolved in terms of like. you kind of maybe having some say in who. you're going to select to fight next? cuz it does seem like anytime you box, they're using you to be like, "Hey, we.
need to create this other guy into a. superstar.". >> I just try to fight uh champions. That's. all about my career. Fight champions uh. and and make the best fights out there. and and that's it. because I like. challenge and and and. that's why I have so many fights called. the fight of the century or the biggest. fight or something like that because I. always.
think about to make the best fights out. there. >> Your fans love it. We appreciate it. We. whenever we learned that you're making. or doing this fight, which was. definitely whenever it was announced, >> it wasn't over the last couple days. No, no, >> it was a long time. Canelo, we we've. known about this fight with him Billy. and who Billy was. >> for a long time. We didn't just find out. about this in the last couple of days. Soon as we find out that you're. fighting, we all get excited. Oh, yeah. >> That's like the whole world gets excited. to know that you're fighting. So, I I. would say job well done, sir, for your.
sport. >> Oh, thank you. I appreciate that. because, you know, I just do what I. love. >> I just found out that Canelo means. cinnamon, too. I feel like that's a bit. stupid. I feel like I should have known. that a long time ago. feel like that's. something I should have known. Uh that's. on me. >> Yeah, you it's it's very easy. >> I mean, now it makes sense. Yeah, it. makes sense. Once I read that, I was. like, "Oh, of course.". >> Sure. And also Mexican folks great with. nicknames. >> Look at that little cinnamon ass over.
Canelo. >> They figure it out. They they they see. yourself and they figure out the the. name right away. >> What do you think they call me? Gringo. Got it. Okay, let's talk uh let's talk. about your family. Uh I read eight eight. in total kids. Is that accurate? And. your brother's box? Your brother. introduced it. So whenever it comes to. boxing, >> my older brother. >> Okay. >> My older brother was the priest guy to. to get into boxing. We we didn't know in.
the family. He just invited us to see. him to get into a pro. And that's why. when we we we. know we kn we knew he's. in boxing and when I when I saw him. fighting I said I said to myself this is. this is what I want for my life for my. for me. This is when I want I want to be. a fighter.
>> I'm happy as hell your older brother did. that for the good of all of us but also. uh for the good of sport as a whole. And. now you're 63 wins. You're gonna have. many more fights. It sounds like you're. in still in incredible shape. I assume. there is a routine of sorts. AQ has a. question for you. >> Yeah. On the day of the fight, long day, long fight card. Can you take us through. your day, what you do, you know, basically from the time you wake up till. the time you fight, also how you hydrate. and how you handle food on the day of. the fight. >> Yeah, it's very important. It's very.
important the food and everything you. drink because you can lose the fight. there. No, you you can lose the fight. there. And it's very important carbs, good uh good uh fat. and and the day of the fight, I wake up. and and eat and eat really good carbs. And then a little bit rest, whack a. little bit. And and then like 3:00 4.
p.m. I I I ate. more carbs because uh uh you going to. need it for that day. >> How's the weighin process? >> Oh, is it's a harder the harder spot. It's a harder spot. It's very difficult. to explain, but the last four kilos, the. last 8 pounds, 10 pounds is just water. It's just water and and it's it's the. most difficult thing.
>> Four kilos, you know, 10 pounds. Four. kilos 10 pounds. >> Four kilos is like eight. >> Eight pounds. Okay. >> Is the the last four kilos for the last. week is the most difficult thing. >> What are we doing? We're uh we're. jumping rope with sweatuits on. We're. sitting inside. >> Sweatuit. Yeah. Everything. We're. peeing. >> We're peeing every drop. And you and you. eat very. little and drink very little. So if. >> has that gotten easier over time or has.
that gotten harder cutting weight? >> You know, when you when you know your. body already like me been in this. situation for a long time. I already. know my body and I I know how to go. little by little. No, some of the. fighters right now they they lose I. don't know 15 pounds in one day and. that's that's very hard. That's that's. not healthy. So I don't do that. I don't. do that because it's not healthy for. your body. >> I go little by little. >> You talk about day of car bloating and.
how you go about waking up and on a walk. and a run. We thought maybe you do one. of your hobbies. AJ has a question for. you. >> Yeah. I know boxing is your life, but I. know you've been a very very good. golfer. You jumped into that. I know. you're into horses as well. Are you Can. you How do you ride? I It looks like. from the internet you ride pretty well. >> No, I ride since I was five years old. I. I used to work in in a farm in Mexico. So, and I ride since I was five years.
old. So, I love horses. I love being. around them because it's a good energy. for me. Pure energy. And golf. golf. I I. just find out golf in 2019 in the co so. and I love golf so much. >> Yeah. What are you a scratch? >> I miss I miss I miss golf because right. now I can't know golf but I miss golf a. lot. >> Right now I can't know golf. I miss. golf. What a line. Golf is going to love. that line as a whole. And you're.
scratched now, right? Aren't you? No, I can I cannot be scratched because. I every time I go to training camp, I I. I don't grab a club. So, it's then to. get back is difficult. >> It's getting in the way of this whole. >> All right, listen. Let's win this thing. and then let's get back to scratch this. time in between fights. We appreciate. >> But but without without practice and. without grabbing a club and everything, I'm I'm handicapped. >> Geez. So you beat me in that.
>> I play with the with the 80 82. >> something around work. >> Damn. >> Hey, when we're riding this horse, do. you are we standing on this thing? Do do. you know how to stand? >> Ride backwards. >> Do you ride backwards? Side. You sitting. side. >> saddle. >> Side saddle. And I think Are you. flipping over top, underneath? Over. Underneath. Underneath. You're not doing. that. >> I ride horses like a man. Is that like a horse? >> Ah, you're the best. Uh, good luck,
brother. Here's a picture of you on a. horse like a man. Okay. >> Rolling in. You look so cool right. there. Uh, if I could look like that, I. would obviously choose it every single. time. And uh, congratulations, dude, on. everything. And good luck October 31st. We can't wait to watch on the zone. >> Thank you so much, guys. Thank you so. much. I appreciate your time. Hey, Oculus boxing, you and me. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Prepare for that, too.
>> Not real life. Actually, maybe if we. could get blindfolds. >> on some of these guys in the real life, Jim, I would have a chance. Even though. your guys' sonar, I don't really. understand. Your guys'. >> You can You can pick a hand. >> And you're gonna. >> just with one hand. Yeah. >> Okay. >> You can pick one hand. >> Okay. Both hands gone. >> I want both. Here's what that's Canelo. Alvarez. Thank you, buddy. >> Canelo. >> cinnamon.
>> It was so easy. >> He was just sitting right there the. entire time. >> Mhm. >> So, oh, he's back. He's back. He's back. Hold on. I think he's still there. Is he. talking? >> When you know, it's so easy. But. >> it's easy. >> Now it's so Now it's so easy because you. know, but before it's complicated. >> Yeah. You're 21 years into this thing, you know. Muchos, gracias, me, amigo. Okay. Uh, good luck out there. Uh, Canela Alvarez. >> I mean, great nickname. >> Oh, yeah. >> Unbelievable. >> Oh, yeah. >> We all knew that that meant cinnamon.
>> Yeah. >> No. >> Okay. Thank you. >> No, >> I thought it was something with red. I. didn't know cinnamon. I thought it was. something red. >> Okay. Sweet. I don't feel like such an. [ __ ] I mean, I definitely feel like. an [ __ ] Let's Let's not get it. twisted all the time, but for this. particular case, did feel like it, but. it makes sense whenever you see it. And. uh yeah, he's one of eight kids. >> And shout out his brother. >> boxing. Yeah. Becomes not scared to. stand and bang. That's why he's been. around. He's awesome to watch. >> I don't Is he the youngest? I guess we. should have done a follow-up there where. he is in the entire order of the kids. But if he's the youngest and they're.
they're the oldest is boxing. Yeah. I. assume that extends outside the gym. They're also working on the little guy. as he's getting there. >> Not anymore. >> Not. Yeah. I wonder what age that was. 15 he turned pro. So 13 is the first. documented time he gets taken to the. gym. It's kind of talked about. 15 he. turns pro. I wonder what happened in. those two years in that gym. We're like, "This slips.". >> Oh, he hit one guy once and just [ __ ]. dropped him like a sack of potatoes. And. they were like, "All right, >> Cinnamon needs to get fast. We need to. get his ass going." Congrats to him on.
all the success. Good luck to Embilly. Imby Christian who um Cameroon born. based out of Montreal. >> He 290 and one with 24 knockouts. >> How bad. >> So, we don't know the name. And in. boxing there's a lot of like ah fighting. some scrub that is some money grab. It's. like I don't know this guy. I think this. guy's a really good boxer that people. don't know about 24 knockouts, 29 wins. That's uh electrifying your chance. >> That'll showcase Canelo's.
>> wiggle. Yeah, he's he's fun to watch. I. watch all the fights. I don't know. enough about it, >> but I do watch all the marquee fights. It's so much fun just thinking the. mindset of going in there a real. gladiator in the modern day and then. he's a 10 handicap and he rides horses. What a legend. We'll continue big day. with big shriggs big plays next. >> Boom. >> Yeah, perfectly did. >> Nailed it. >> Mhm. Nailed it. People are going to love. that. >> Working on a song for him. >> I did make a song for him yesterday. I.
don't know. >> Oh, you did? >> What's that? >> Did you send it to Shregs? >> I'm trying to figure out whether or not. he would think that's disrespectful or. not. >> No, no, no. He would love it. Definitely. not. That would be the theme song of Big. Day with Big Shrikes tomorrow. >> Breaking down the big place. >> Yeah. >> Made a song for it cuz I do love the. name Big Day with Big Shrikes. I don't. think they call it that. >> They don't. >> But it should be called Big Day with Big. Shrikes. >> It will be. >> cuz whenever you see Peter Shreger, you. think to yourself, "That's Big Shrigs. He's bigger than I thought." Yeah. Kind. of a lumbering fella.
>> Yeah, he is. >> So, he is Big Shrigs. All right. This. goes in. It's big day with Big Shrekes. Oh. >> Oh, you were right on line. Thought. >> it was in. >> It's going to take some work. Let's take. a break. On the other side, we got the. top five offensive lines. >> We got good D. >> Oh, yeah. >> We got situational report. >> Oh, yeah. >> We got so much to cover. We got so much. to learn and so much to celebrate. Be a. friend. Tell a friend something nice. might change your life. Take five.
Yeah, if he throws you a curveball, you're in trouble. >> That breaking ball. Good luck. It's It's. pretty nasty. >> Think he's going to make contact? >> No. >> If I were you, I would just start. swinging as you realistic. >> Do you think I make contact? >> I can barely make contact again.
>> Fight a bingo. 25 grand. Extra base hit. 15,000. If you walk me, $10,500. donation. Strike out 10,000. A hit is. just $10,000. Ball contact $5,000. donation. Hit by pitch that's an extra. $5,000. Strike is a,000 obviously. And. then every ball will be a donation by. the pitcher as well. Ski said that if he. was pitching against me, throw one. behind me. >> I've had a lot of votes to get you in. the ribs. A lot of them. >> You can get in there and look at one if.
you want. Get used to it. >> Is this the one you're going to put in. my ribs? >> Nope. You're not. Don't swing at this. one. Go swing. >> All right. I won't. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I thought I was. going to burn my feet. >> Rookie of the year. Get a little closer. >> Just got a cramp in my left chest. >> All right. No balls, no strikes. >> Yeah. Okay.
What the [ __ ] was that? What the [ __ ] was that? >> I like that you let it go though. >> Yeah, first one. >> Yeah, I like it. Oh, fell tip. >> Foul tip.
>> Oh, where'd you go? >> Where'd you go?
What was that? >> That was purple. >> That was a strike. >> That was right there. >> Hey, thank you for your donation. >> Kershaw's challenge is forever grateful. >> So, what was that? You just threw fast. >> Fast bass curve. Oh, where'd you go? >> And what else do you have? >> I have a slider. >> [ __ ]. >> This is guy number two. >> I got number two. >> Yeah, I got a different attitude. This.
guy. >> Okay. >> I don't like what you're doing with the. strike zone. You're on it.
>> Oh, fell off. Foul ball. You got me though there, right? >> Yeah. >> Contact. Okay. >> Yeah. I will put on my Twitter bio.
>> Made contact. >> What's your drone? This will be his curb, right? That's all I got right there. >> Yeah, I saw it.
>> Hey, fast ball away. All right, >> over here. >> Maybe. I mean, you never know, but I'm. going to try. Fast ball away. I think I got it. I think I got it. I. think I got it. I think I got it.
That was good. >> Did that hurt? >> Yeah. >> Thank you, dude. >> We'll count that as a single. Infield. single. >> Hey, I got a ghost runner there. He's. fast. He's on second. Okay.
I got it.
Hey, good work, dude. That was awesome. >> I knew the curve was coming right there. >> You did? Yeah. >> How'd you know? >> Uh, just because I thought cuz I made. contact. >> Oh, yeah. You read my mind. >> All right, let's [ __ ] make a move. Yeah, >> you got it. >> You told me fast ball away. >> Yeah, I cut in a little. You got Jiren, but contact. >> like I was aiming away through a two. seamer and it's supposed to kind of run. but it kind of ran the other way. >> I didn't think about the punch out. pitch. Like I was sitting there. I'm.
like he's he's up 02. >> You're definitely going to hit me with. something. >> Oh, where'd you go? >> Catcher got you there. >> I think I got on base. >> That's an infield single. You know it. You had You had enough though. Do you. see his face? He said, "I don't know. >> I don't know about. >> that's real." He said, >> "Mookie's a good short stop from what I. remember. I'll give you one hit. Give. you one hit, one foul ball, and then uh. I did catch. Does that count? Does that. count your foul ball?". >> The catch definitely counts as a twofer.
there. >> Okay. There's a few swinging misses. >> A lot of swinging misses. >> So, yeah, you just you just let me know. >> We appreciate you being a great. American. Good luck. >> Thank you. Hey, no, there's no way I'm going to be. able to throw enough strikes. >> All right, thank you, dude. You're the. best. >> That was great, man.
Hey, let's go. >> This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. you. >> McAfee on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers. >> You pick. stutter. >> Damn it. Be a friend. Tell a friend. something nice could change their life.
>> Hello beautiful people and welcome back. to our humble abode the draft kings. thunderdom on this what Wednesday. October 7th 2026 hour three of the. program begins now. >> Football is the absolute greatest and uh. it's not just me here. There's obviously. a man who's a college football national. champion, Super Bowl champion, Rder Cup. winner, AJ Hawk right here. It is. October 7th, 2026. Right here. Awesome.
work. The toxic tables here at Boston. Connor and at Tai Schmidt, a man who. played in the NFL for nine years at. every position in the secondary. Darius. J. Butler is here. 12-year NFL vet, Super Bowl champion. AQ Shipley is here. And live from Hammer, Dod Todd is Tone. Digs. Tone. Okay. As we look ahead to. another weekend of incredible football, what should we be thinking about how the. gambling trends have been going? Because. I and Monday Night Football, that thing,
the overunders are 54 and a half, I do. believe. >> Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, two. defenses that maybe haven't played the. absolute best. Feels like that's going. to fly over. What are some trends we. should uh have in the back of our mind. as we try to put out a good super boost. tomorrow? Yeah, when you look at the. trend so far, it's it's been slightly um. towards the dogs this season as far as. uh sides that are covering more versus. favorites and dogs. Dogs dogs have a. slight advantage. And then, you know, home dogs, we've talked about it. They.
were six-2 last week, three and three. this weekend. So, they've been. performing really, really well. Um overs. and unders have basically been 50/50 so. far this year. 54 for that Monday night. game. You know, the Bills defense has. not been very, very good. So, that's why. that one is is really higher. or if. you're playing if you're going if you're. betting a Lions game, just take the over. in that one because it's got the worst. defense of all time. Um, this will be. the first weekend that we really need to. watch weather. We talked about the the. hurricane potential uh for Tuscaloosa, for Bama and Georgia. But if you look at. the big uh poll, if you look at the big.
poll that the hurricane path looks like, uh it's traveling up into the Midwest. area into over to Pittsburgh, the. Mid-Atlantic area. So, that'll affect uh. games on Sunday for the NFL as well. >> Okay. See, it did. It does look like a. genie coming out. >> a bit. >> A little bit of a ghost. It could also. look like a uh. >> curved penis. >> Bingo. >> Sure. Yep. >> That's what a lot of people tail. >> Thank you. I was thinking the thing with. the skull for. >> Oh, tusks up. Oh, the the horn.
>> Hey, have you guys seen the commercial? There's a commercial with the medication. for curved dongs. I just saw it for the. first time last week. >> It works awesome. >> Okay. >> Time to straighten some arrows. What? So. what what happened age? What did you. >> Oh, I don't know. There it was a. commercial. It was running I think. during the Ohio State game and the. people I watched it with, they had seen. before, but it was medication for curved. dogs. Like extremely curved dogs, I. guess. Okay. I don't know what it does. >> If yours goes west and want to maybe. take it a little bit northwest, we got. the thing for you. >> I'm happy people are getting a chance to.
experience some real length as opposed. to a slice, you know, or uh. >> a super slice or the fade. >> Super fade. Yeah. Get it, get it from a. slice to a fade. >> This medicine that AJ saw this weekend. while he's sitting with a crowd of. people who had seen it before. >> So, I like just the thought of how we. got that information from the people. AJ. immediately goes, "Was that medicine. about curved dongs?" And then forced. others to chime in in Ohio. >> Bobby immediately. before. >> I already got an order in. I could.
double it for you. You could split my. order if you want. I think we're about. the same. I've seen you in shower. It. was a long time ago. >> Let's try it. Let's try it. So, I'm. happy that's what's happening in Ohio. Shout out to you guys. Shout out to the. state of Ohio. O H I O. Shout out to you. guys. >> Nice. Thank you. >> No problem. We will keep our eye on. weather though because that has a. massive importance for the. >> So, what's best case best sorry best. case scenario for the for game day game. It's going to be rainy, windy most. likely no matter what. We just hope it. doesn't dump on them Saturday. I think.
I've seen two different time frames and. that's strictly coming from my text. messages from people that are paying. close attention to it. I guess there's a. chance that game day in the morning. wasn't going to get hit and then the. game was going to hit. Now there's a. chance that game day in the morning gets. hit and it peters off by the time the. game is there. Maybe it moves on. I. think that has become the more recent. read of the situation. Con man, >> yeah, I saw landfall at like Saturday. 1:00 a.m. So it would affect the morning. but by the time the game is because it's. 7:30 it should be passed. But even if. you're in the path, like I still believe.
that there are going to be, you know, rain/. >> implications. >> the entire time, no matter what. >> Te's and peace to everybody that's in. the path of anything that's happening uh. around the world. Hope you're okay. Certainly with the weather here in the. United States. AJ, when the weather's. bad, you're going to have to do. something with it. That's probably run. the ball. >> To run the ball, you're going to have to. have a great group of big men in front. of you. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time. to learn. It's time to go in the. trenches. It's time for the top five. Top five. Top five performing offensive.
lines coming out of week four of the NFL. season at number five with AQ Shipley is. the Dallas Cowboys. AJ AQ. How did the. Dallas Cowboys find themselves at the. top five number five offensive line this. week? >> Yeah, I loved their film this week. They. were physical. Their double teams were. great. Their offensive line's playing at. a high level. They had a fantastic uh. pass plan against Denil Hunter and Will. Anderson. They they were chipping the. whole game, keeping those guys off the. quarterback. But listen, the run game is. where it starts. And they're physical up. front, right? When you look at this.
group, you go from left to right. Gayton. is the man at left tackle. But listen, TJ Bass at left guard and then the. center, Cooper BB right here. This is. one of my favorite plays in football. One by three tight ends left right. there. Three receivers to the right puts. the defense in a predicament. Run it. into the boundary. Now we get this pin. and pull scheme. Nice job pinning the. outside. Now watch the center and the. guard pull around. There's Cooper BB. There's TJ Bass. Oh boy. You get them. out on a DB and a linebacker. You do not. want that. Walk into the end zone. >> We let old buddy there just kind of run.
free. We expect the running back to miss. him. Is that the plan? >> So listen, whenever you get that pin and. pull scheme, if we let this thing run a. little bit, the pin and pull scheme. That tight end's going to go and he's. going to steal the edge. The hardest. block, the hardest block is going to be. on that tackle, right? On that down. block. What happens is is he gets picked. off. You see the down block by the tight. end? That's what happens. That's not. meant to happen, but again, >> you know that that's a possibility. Anytime you get that pin block by the. tight end and that guy starts to play. over the top, left tackle Gon actually. had a really good block on that play, but he got picked off and guy goes over.
the top, running back out runs them. >> Okay, so Dallas Cowboys number five. Congratulations to them. >> Let's go to the number four offensive. line coming out of week four in the. trenches with AQ Shipley. Congrats to. the San Francisco 49ers. >> The 49ers have been awesome. Listen, this group, first of all, first time in. 21 years an offensive line has given up. zero sacks through the first four weeks. of the season. You go back to the 2005. Colts with Pton Manning. Obviously, Payton got the ball out of his hand. quickly. Helps the offensive line. They.
are not getting the ball out of quickly. It's a lot of play action. It's a lot of. other things, but they're running the. football. And it always starts with the. run. When you talk Kyle Shanahan, right? When you look at this group, really. good. It always starts with Trent. Williams. But again, an extension of the. offensive line is who? Kyle Yuschek. juice and then Luke Ferrell the tight. end. There's big Trent Williams. highlighted right there. He is going to. seal the entire left side of this line. Everybody from left tackle over is going. to seal everybody down. You're going to. send Juice in that banana motion and. then leave two. See the defensive end.
and the linebacker off the ball. Front. side linebacker Juice gets the kick out. Luke Frell coming around as a second. puller. There it is. Trent Williams. sealed it. Connor Kby at the second. level. Boom. Look at Debo running. through Huanga. Now watch this. Boom. Debo Samuels been unbelievable all year. long. >> I love that Debo is getting back to who. Debo has been. Shanahan is a psycho when. it comes to drawing these things up. Always been a tag team partner of the. run game across the league. People jack. his stuff. I like the young offensive.
coordinators keeping the old school. football. And let's go to the number. three offensive line from week four of. the NFL season. Saw it on Monday night. Congrats to the Atlanta Falcons. >> Yeah. Hey, the Atlanta Falcons are. awesome. You saw them firsthand. I mean, they were unbelievable. And it starts. with their offensive line. We said it a. couple weeks ago. Once Pennix got back. in there, it's going to start with their. offensive line. We're going to send. Zakias in motion, right? Zakias is going. to go across in motion. What that does. is it creates leverage. Watch the. linebackers bump back in. See that? That's helping the offensive line. Then.
on the snap, we're going to send the. tight end Charlie Werner back across. which is going to hold. You get the kick. out by Jake Matthews. Look at the double. team between Noosel and Berseron right. there. News climbs up and it always. starts with number 63 Chris Lindstöm on. the backside. Look at him work his head. front side to get the seal and then. Bejon out the gate. See you later. >> Phenomenal vision, a lot of trust in. that O line and then the pull away. breakaway speed all at the same time. You're saying Bejon certainly great. Brian Robinson certainly great.
Offensive line, no Jake Matthews going. forwards, no problem. Is he is Jake. Matthews back? I don't think we know the. update. I know he got pulled from the. game. >> Yeah, I know he left for the game and. they kept showing him on the sidelines. I don't know how bad it is or how long. he's been out or if that's come out yet. But listen, the rest of that group is. fantastic. Ryan Nel coming in at center, right? They lost Dolman a couple years. ago to the Bears and then he retires. Nel's filled in. He's been fantastic. Berseron, high draft pick out of. Syracuse. He's been great. Chris. Lindstöm's one of the best in the game, if not the best right guard in the game. >> Atlanta Falcons. Kevin Sfansky seemingly. has a team. You know who else has a. team? >> Who's that?
>> The Monsters at Midway. Number two. offensive line coming out of week four. The Chicago Bears. >> Y. >> Congratulations to Chicago. Happy for. them that they got a good offensive. line. Ben Johnson needs it and he's. going to have it. >> Yeah, they're unbelievable. And listen, it starts with Darnell, right? We talked. about him a couple years ago and he gets. drafted. He was a game changer. When. they got him and then they go get Joe. Tuni, they rebuild this entire uh. offensive line and they have a brand new. team. The emotion Cole KT right there. Love him. Motion him to fullback. Now. you're going to get this receiver going. in jet motion. When you see that, watch.
the guy come into the screen debuts. There's the DB. Right. So now that's the. fullback's responsibility. >> Bump bump bump bump bump. Right, AJ? So, you know, it's obviously zone coverage, not man. But anyways, then we get the. the run. They're going to go uh KT right. through. He's going to fill on that. safety. You get everybody else climbing. up. But look at the backside. Theo. Benedict filling in at left tackle for. Braxton Jones. Ben, unbelievable. Joe. Tony at the second level. >> Phenomenal job. That's how you get the. creases. The backside blocks are huge. Many just runs over Will McDonald at the. second level. Unbelievable job. Manungai.
uh the second head to the two horse two. headed horse. >> stable that the Chicago Bears have with. Swift and Manungi. Manungai eats this. week. Uh they we did not have a bump up. >> Hey AJ, what the hell? I gave you the. bump. I gave you the non-verbal. communication. Why didn't you bump? >> It's a good question here, D. But this. is one where we got you got the. non-verbal and the verbal. They just. both stonefaced look straight ahead and. never even acknowledge he's coming in. the box here. Yeah, watch the backers. >> Really dialed in. >> Cole KT shifts in. get you guys doing.
now. We got a motion. DB trying to pass. him off at zone coverage. I don't need. to be on man. Going over the bump on. pause right there. >> We thought about it. We thought about. bumping. >> Yeah. So, both of these backers should. bump this way. >> The the best part about this, right, Jonah Jackson's client on Demario Davis, the linebacker, and then KT supposed to. get the DB. Watch KT just take this. He. takes over Jonah Jackson's guys. He. comes over the top and just puts him on. his back. Watch him take out uh Demario. Davis as this thing runs. Boom. Watch. this. Watch him fall down here. Look at. 85. See his head right there on the. right. Mhm. >> Yeah. Watch Deario Davis go down. Look.
at that. Jeez Louise. We're just putting. people on their back tangled. >> The Jets got football. I don't know how. much of it was Cole KT says AJ Hawk, but. he certainly ended up on the ground. And. ladies and gentlemen, the number one. offensive line coming out of week four. the NFL season in the trenches with AQ. Shipley is the Kansas City Chiefs. >> What? Wow. >> So, not only is it K9, Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and the Stars, the offensive. line's the best in the league right now.
>> Well, they were the best in the league. this week. No question about it. They. were awesome. And and Khalil Benson, right? We talked about him. He was a try. out player playing left tackle. Comes. out of IU. He was named the AFC rookie. of the month. I mean, when have you seen. an offensive lineman get praised like. that? But again, right here, Jaylen. Moore playing right tackle. We talked. about it earlier. JJ was so pissed off. whenever he got pulled out of the game. Max Crosby's out of the game on this. look right here. But we get a great. reach block by Jaylen Moore. And then. look at that single between Trey Smith. and Creed Humphrey. Unbelievable job. creating that crease. And then Noah Gray.
at the second level. And then look, that's Jeremy Chin coming down. You. don't know where to fit. So you take a. bad angle and then K9, see you later, just outruns him to the to the corner. and ends up having a huge run. Huge run. >> Kenneth Walker watching the jumbotron, realizes he's going to get caught. Turns, tries to put away. Okay, going. down. He's become a real weapon. the. offensive line benefiting from K9 or K9. benefiting from the offensive line or. all of the above? >> It's all of the above. And listen, it. starts with K9. I mean, I loved him when. he was in Seattle. Thought he was. underutilized out there. He's now.
getting his opportunity. They are giving. him the carries. He's averaging 10 10. yards a carry this past week basically. And he's breaking a ton of tackles. >> Congratulations to the top five. offensive lines here from the week four. slate of NFL games. Five Dallas Cowboys, Niners, Falcons, Bears, and Chiefs. And. from our understanding, if your team's. on here throughout the season, you have. a good chance of winning the Super Bowl. >> Mhm. Cowboys about to get their one of I. won't say their best offensive lineman.
back, but Booker, who's been out for the. entire year. So, they're about to get. even better. >> And if you're not on this list the. entire season, you're probably not going. to be longterm in the playoffs if you. make the playoffs. AJ, that's what we've. kind of learned through the in the. trenches top five throughout the last. couple seasons. >> Yeah. I want a quick question for AQ. When you have a guy like Kenneth, like. Kenneth Walker, when he's running and. you can consistently run the ball, I. guess, how much better does it make your. job as an O lineman, not only run. blocking, but pass blocking as well? >> It's incred. First of all, if you got a. if you got a good running game, it helps. you in the pass game because especially.
down there with the with the play action. pass. I talk about it all the time. Listen, nobody wants to be in drop back. pass protection for 40 plays in the. game, right? So, if you're running the. ball and then you got the play action. game going and then they're running. screens, too, you may only be in drop. back pass protection less than 10 times. a game, which is an absolute dream for. an offensive lineman. That that makes. your job so much easier. And then also. with his ability to break tackles, your. goal is, hey, let's just cover guys up. Just cover guys up. Get him one-on-one. with the DB. Get him one-on-one with the. safety. He's going to break the tackle. and have a chance to take it the. distance. >> Now, Bejon, they're comparing him to.
Barry Sanders. He has some vision stuff. that I don't know if we've seen since. maybe. Levian maybe Levian's patience in. reading that that. >> Shady Shady and a name we don't hear. enough but AJ I'm sure would agree. Aren. Foster guy where you could be on the. backside edge like nine was. >> and he would still cut back and put the. foot in the ground and get nine yards to. get outside like those. >> probably those two I would say from our. era. Now you have Gibbs and Bjon who are.
like that. >> But for you offensive lineman, you know. that if you just cover somebody up or. just give some space, he'll find it is. the expectation. >> Absolutely. Just get a hat on a hat. And. I think one of the other things, right, I always talk about tight ends and. fullbacks being an extension of the. offensive line. One of the biggest. pieces that's probably never talked. about at all, Charlie Werner, their. tight end, makes that run game go a lot. of times. He came over from San. Francisco, right? He comes over from the. Kyle Shanahan world where he was great. in that world. They couldn't afford to. keep him. He ends up going there and. becomes that guy now for Atlanta where.
now he's the guy going back across. He's. playing the juice role for that tight. end for the for the Falcons. >> So Hooper's getting touchdowns. Yeah. And receptions. This guy's on the field. to block for Bejon. >> Bingo. >> So Pitts, they just paid him. He really. is like almost trying to find his role. >> window dressing. >> with the Atlanta Falcons right now. >> They got to use him. >> They have to like and they will. I'm. sure they will. like like he's a freak. athlete. For whatever reason, he hasn't. had the production, but he's a walking.
mismatch. I assume at some point in the. season, he'll have a stretch of like. four or five games where it's like, "Oh. [ __ ] okay, that's the Kyle Pace we. waiting on." But kind of similar to what. you were saying with the uh not being. that not been stuck in that drop back. game is the same with Atlanta. Like. having that run, you're not going to. have Pennix in that situation. But I. think at some point Pittz has to become. a part of that offense. I mean, Austin. Hooper in 2026 being a focal point for. Michael Penn is awesome for Austin. Hooper and we obviously love that. Did. not expect that going into the year at. all. Thought Pitts would be that guy.
And then sounds like this guy's very. vital to what their offense is, which is. Bejon. >> Oh yeah. >> So Kyle Pittz is really going to have to. find what his role is going to be there. That's funny to think if you're. Stfansky. We've been so dominant and we. have yet to even activate a guy who. could take over games if he really. wanted to or could. So that makes you a. little bit scared about what the Atlanta. Falcons could be going forward. >> I've always been you listen I've been a. fan of them ever since they built this. offensive line for five years now. Now h. having said that they got a quarterback. now and now this running game is. unbelievable and what it's able to do is.
now bring an extra safety into the box. as we talked about earlier right Debbuts. and now all of a sudden now you're. getting Pennix with single high safety. and now he can start picking people. apart. >> and you you you almost think if you're. Stfansky and the Falcons like hey maybe. we look at what the Raiders are doing. with Brock Bars and and we stop bringing. this guy inside like let's just put him. on one side London on the other you got. Hooper and Warner and then you got Bejon. or Brian in in the back field like screw. We're not using him as a tight end. anymore. >> So, fans will figure it out. We have. faith. Congratulations, AQ.
>> Another great week, the top five. Now, there is two things that Debbut does for. us every single Wednesday that makes us. better, makes us smarter, and sometimes. he's got to put a suit on. >> Mhm. >> With a little bit of sauce and give us a. situational report. Debut, what's the. situational report this week? And what. are we going to learn about? >> The situational report this week, and. it's usually an offensive guy that goes. off. Week one, I believe it was Caleb. Williams. Then we had JSN. Last week it. was Brock Bowers. This week it's going. to be CD Lamb down there in Dallas. Now.
I mean actually in Houston. Now usually. you look at his statline. 17 catches, 189 and touchdown. You're like, "Wow, he. had to be double coverage. He had to be. making phenomenal catches. It had to be. crazy." Me throw it up on Yeah. Boom. Perfect. Play one. Now this is third. quarter. So beginning of the third. quarter, this is a postc cross route. Something you see all the time. They're. going to rotate down. Right now they're. showing split safety. They're going to. end up in single high. It's going to be. a fiveman rush. So three deep defenders. One, two, three. You got your outside.
corners and your post defenders. He have. a three underneath defenders. CD Lamb, one of the best wide receivers. is going to run a crossing route. And I. want you to just see that's uh Stingley. Jr. And he passes him off. And I used to. hate this. This was a pet peeve of mine. for corners. Like you're not passing. them off to anybody. This is nothing but. green grass. Stingley's continuing to. face. So you're talking about the. Houston Texas defense. So obviously. we're going to highlight CD Lamb and. making these catches, but it it it's. baffling what is going on with this. Houston Texans defense. Let's go to the. next play. So now we're into the fourth.
quarter. CD Lamb once again, I don't. care what the coverage is called. As a. pro, as a defender, this the fourth. quarter, close ball game. I want to know. where 88 is regardless of what coverage. you're playing. And right now, once. again, it's going to be uh three deep. and three low. Now, this is the flat. defender to CD Lamb side. This is second. and 18. So this is a kind of get back on. track down. Look at the coverage on 88. Like this is wide. This is pitch and. catch. You talk about free access. Three. deep, three underneath again. Wide ass. open. So second and 18. CD Lamb gets an.
easy. Once again, one of the best wide. receivers in football. Doesn't need your. help to get wide open. Wide ass open for. a 21 yardd gain. So now you're first to. 10 just outside of the red area. Once. again, deep into the fourth quarter. CD. Lamb once again. Second and 10. Second. and long. Now we have another coverage. We're going to blitz here. So Jaylen. Petri, this slot defender, he's going to. blitz and it's going to be a screen. So. it's a perfect call for the offense, but. at some point you have to have awareness. of where the best wide receiver in the. football field. He catches his ball and. I mean look what's in front of him. This. is like you're scripting for success on.
a Friday. You're never you're not seeing. this in the NFL in the National Football. League. We had it a couple uh years ago. We had the Dallas Cowboys on the fourbox. and it's getting that bad in Houston. right now. So I don't know what it is. If it's Matt Burke, if it's the players, if it's Demo Ryan, whatever it is, they. got to figure it out and figure it out. fast. Now, this is the game winner. At. this point in the game, he already has. 16 catches for 172 yards, and we're. going to leave him one-on-one with. Jaylen Petri right now. So, there he is. in the slot. And now we have our slot. defender. And Petri is a damn good.
football player. I don't want him. one-on-one with CD Lamb in this. situation. The safety's on a complete. other side of the field. Ferguson's kind. of going to eat him up. It's kind of. Dino Rock, double post, something you. see every week in the NFL. That's where. the safety is. So Dak Prescott knows. once 88 wins this leverage, which he is, he's going to widen him and he's going. to be wide ass open once again for a. post, which essentially becomes the game. winner. You see the bottom, the score at. the bottom is 33 uh 30. This was. obviously before. So after this. touchdown was scored, that was the score. with 43 seconds left. So I mean just.
unbelievable. It's obviously you're. highlighting what Dak Prescott and CD. Lambert doing, which is great. But I. mean this was this was pitch and catch. I was gobbmacked when I'm watching these. clips and going back and seeing how the. Houston Texans are playing defense. >> We mentioned earlier maybe the Houston. Texans can find it after going 0 and4. and Debbut said nope. I didn't know that. this is the reason why. >> because what they because the Houston. Texans notoriously good defense AJ Deico. Ryan's defensive coach that's why he's. the head coach. We've talked about them. being historic maybe and they got these.
types of What is that AJ? Just checking. out not paying attention. One mental. lapse exposes it. >> I don't know. It's it's weird because. like when things start going bad like. it's usually one guy out of the 10. You. know, we we've talked about before. Okay, that we gave up a touchdown. We've. been giving up some yards and plays. So, you got to press. Okay, maybe I'm going. to jump outside here when I should stay. inside leverage. Like little things like. that. And then all of a sudden, you're. dropping like basic things that are day. one install and you're you're in in the. middle of a game, then you're trying to. figure out in the sideline. It's like a. it's a bad deal when it starts going.
downhill like that because it's tough to. get it back on track. >> Dak and CD found it every time though. It seems like they did not miss. >> I mean, yeah, we me and you would have. found it out there. >> How the hell do you let him have like 17. catches? I just don't understand. >> And then one-on-one there for the game. >> Yeah, no one within 15 yards of him on. >> the hell's going on. He call JJ W. It. >> it's it's unbelievable. And as a. defensive coordinator, so you know, I. always start with the players, but you. know, obviously coaching matters, especially on this level, but the. defensive coordinator, what you have. available is you got the down the disc,
you got the clock, you have a personnel. So now you look at your sheet, you say, "What you going to play?" Now as a pro, as a defender, it's your job to say, "Okay, we got quarters called, we got. cover, whatever the coverage is, but. okay, 88 has been killing us today. Hey, you going to sh Hey, you lock up back. here. We're going to double 88. I'm. going to shade here." Whatever it is, whatever adjustments you have to make. within whatever coverage, you got to do. it. That was that was insane to see. that. >> Uh, joining us now, JJ Watt and the. Houston Texans bull ring. >> I'm busy. >> I'm busy. No, we just watched four clips.
of C D Lamb being wide ass open pre-. snap, postnap, after the game, before. the game, fourth quarter, second. quarter, third quarter, 16 catches, 17. catches. What the hell's going on down. there? I thought we were a great. defensive team. >> I'm watching Colt Steelers film. I am. busy right now. It's just four plays. I. don't have time to be breaking down. other games. I don't know. I respect. Debut a lot. I don't know what he's. showing or talking about. I have no.
clue. >> It's bad. >> Really bad, man. Bad. >> Can I fix it? >> I You tell me. You're on TV. >> I don't think so. >> He said no. >> Yeah, I don't think so. I think. everybody's saying can't be fixed what. we just saw right there. It's not a week. toe league at all. It's It's something. that's forever. >> It could be fixed. It could be fixed. >> I'm I'm just sitting here enjoying. watching DeForest Buckner play. That's. all I'm doing right now. I got it on the. screen. And I got the film rolling. >> All right. >> We can ruin your day. We can send you.
these tape the these plays. >> I mean, you act like the first two weeks. of yours were were. >> Oh, okay. You're a little biased. already. It sounds like a guy's already. a little biased going in there. Okay. Hey, just remember, knuck if you buck in. there, okay, please. Cheers. Cheers. >> Well, just ruining his day real quick. You you know what's interesting is is. for for years. >> they have rushed four and gotten away. with it, right? Because the two edge. guys wreak havoc. They push the pocket. They do all the things.
>> Well, now every team's coming out and. they're chipping the edges. >> and they have not made any adjustments. That's the crazy part. They're chipping. the edges. Like I'd like to see them. come out in some double barrel stuff. Hey, let's instead of putting the. defensive ends on the outside, hey, let's flip it. Let's put the dackles. outside, let's put the ends inside on. the guards, right? Let's let's get into. an overload thing. So now we don't know. how to chip or where to chip, right? Like just do something different. But to. sit here and keep lining up in the same. thing and let your best pass rushers get. chipped is crazy to watch. >> 0 and four stats are terrible to make. the playoffs. >> Oh yeah.
>> 0 and5. can't be done. >> Can't be done. >> Cannot be done. Call it. We're trading. for Will Anderson. >> I mean Joey Burrow and them tried, right? Where were they? One and four. One and five maybe. >> when they went and grabbed Flaco. >> Yeah. And then they went on a hot run, but they weren't able to catch it. >> Yeah. They finished like nine and eight. They missed it by one. Yeah, >> they do have a a get-right game this. week. >> Oh my god. >> They go to Tennessee. >> Okay. >> So, if you lose that one though, it's. it's basically like, hey, >> fireill. >> cancel the season. Yeah. >> And their worst case scenario, too, where CJ Strat's playing for a contract.
and he's playing unbelievable and. they're still 0 and four. >> That was the entire conversation with. the Texans. Yeah. >> All since the playoff CJ can just play, you know, good ball. is he's wasting his. Super Bowl defense and all this [ __ ] and. he's playing damn good football and they. I mean like you said the the the lack of. adjustments and usually when you don't. adjust like that or you just say hey. this is how we're going to play. I said. it yesterday talking about offenses like. Tom Brady or Payton Manning like they. did a lot of the same [ __ ] every year.
but they just executed so well such a. high level for Payton some of it was. like personnel like yeah you can know. we're running indie routes we're running. this but I got Marvin Harrison [ __ ]. Reggie Wayne so I'm going to do it. anyway. That's how Houston was last. year. We're going to line up. Kamari. Lasser is great. Stingley's great. Safety's great. Pass rush is great. We. just going to line up and play it. But. now I guess they got the number and. figuring out. But that [ __ ] right there, that's that's that's just egregious. >> So being egregious, all pro corner Derek. Stingley Jr. Aaron Wilson was reporting. on defensive issues and loss to Cowboys. Emphasize it's not on the coaches. Game.
plan was great. Just having a little. communication issues right now. >> Yeah, might be too loud in there. >> Maybe the Houston Texans stands stadium. is too loud. Maybe that's part of the. problem. Too loud for these defenses. That's been something that's been said, right, by a couple players now. >> Yeah, I believe Buffalo said that. Um. I'm not sure if High Mark Stadium is too. loud for their defense, but. >> No, I didn't. >> Yeah. So, I don't we were told this by a. Bills super negative fan.
>> and the quote itself makes it more so. seem like the timing of the calls. getting in and then there's. >> the bigger part of the communication. that is that. >> but did say very loud hard to. communicate in the new high mark stadium. which is a compliment but also the Bills. Mafia says hey. >> you shut up literally every place is. supposed to be the loudest I think what. he was trying to say is the timing of it. getting in late with how loud it is it's. hard to get it to everybody so. communication is a big deal on the. defensive side especially at home.
whenever we're trying to make it as. impossible to communicate as possible. for the other side. >> huge and you you love that as a defense. because obvious Obviously that's that's. tougher for the offense, but as you he. always talk about, you know, verbal and. non-verbal communication. That's what. you we saw on AQ's clip with the bumping. like yeah AJ can you'll be surprised at. how much you actually can hear even in. loud stadiums but or you're expecting to. hear somebody talking to you like me and. AJ are constantly working in coverage. like we're going to have some hey if he. comes under you take two and three. whatever it is. So you have to have that. verbal and non-verbal communication not.
only for execution but even in film you. can be like hey you can see the guy you. can see I pointed and we pointed back. like you can see that we were on the. same page so you know exactly who [ __ ]. it up but getting the calls in is a big. deal. AJ dealt with this much more than. I did. Probably having a green dot and. getting that call and probably hearing a. corner like me, hey, what is it? Hey, let me get it one more time. And you. trying to get a close call and get other. [ __ ] So A AJ could probably talk to. those mechanics more than I can. >> No, I think it's a real thing. It is a. true thing. like when your when your. your home stadium is very loud like yeah.
it affects the offensive commun. communication it affects the defense too. like we can't hear either but it's a. good thing you're always prepared for. that and there's so much there's so much. pre- snap talk I think that people don't. realize that is going on like every. single snap like especially between. linebackers safeties whoever is around. you Dline like all that matters but you. got to have hand signals for everything. like every if I got a question what my. coverage is whatever like I got hand. signal close fist open fist whatever it. is with the corners and safeties. We can. all communicate without even speaking. >> You were green dot.
>> Yeah. Warn it. >> You loved it, huh? You absolutely loved. it. I bet. >> Yeah. I like it. I enjoyed it. But I. mean, it's a thing too people have to. adjust to to where like as the call is. coming in, I have to start yelling the. call to the defense while the coach is. still yelling it in my ear, so I can't. hear what I'm saying. But you got to do. that. I've watched I've seen some guys. get the green dot. I had a buddy got a a. nice custom mouthpiece made for him that. had fangs on it. Had some sweet fangs. and he tried to call the first defense.
and kept fumbling and couldn't speak. with it. Couldn't speak with it in the D. line, man. Take that stupid mouthpiece. out, man. And then I think the. mouthpiece was done for the rest of. >> Sweet Fangs. I do appreciate you. complimenting how it looked. It did look. cool, man. It looks awesome. >> First play I started we I mean a lot of. guys started laughing and then got. pissed because you know offenses run to. the line and we don't have a call yet. >> It's the worst. Yeah, I could imagine. being behind the eight-ball if you can't. get the wording out. And to Debb's. point, we've heard many positions go, "What's that?" Because they weren't. paying attention in real time. They were. looking at something. >> Every position, every player will ask.
you, you'll say it 11 times, 10 times. Yeah. >> I love that you were out there doing. that. The communicator. This guy's a big. time communicator. >> Listen up, guys. I'm the freaking green. dog. >> Not that. Not that part. >> You point at it when it was on the back. Green dog, [ __ ]. >> Listen. >> Right here. >> I speak one voice. D but like if I you. know that we're watching that tape that. clip of uh of CD scoring from the slot. three by one. I'm like hey bud I'm. talking to that middle feed field field. safety. You know which way you're. leaning pal. This the guy the the guy. guarding the X back there. He's on his.
own. He's taking care of the slant on. his own but we're leaning to CD for. sure. >> That guy has 16 catches already. Yeah. That guy has 16 catches today. Let's. let's get him. Let's have a couple. extra. It's easier said than done. You. guys have done it. I have respect for. that. Quiet defense is a dead defense. Loud defense is a confident defense and. I know there was some of that. Let's go. everything DB good D from NFL week four. season D but there had to be some good. defense we have to showcase. >> There was some good defense sprinkled.
throughout. Now usually it's almost like. a rule. I don't put losers on good D but. we can't have listen. >> listen. >> I'll listen. >> it. Okay. Thank you AJ. >> I'll listen to it. It's been 637 days. since the New York Jets got an. interception and Minka Fitzpatrick. finally got one off the bag, man. So, it. has to be shown. Uh, here we go. >> 80 DB back. >> It's got an interception. It's got It's. an interception. It's an intercept. You.
about 20 weeks, 20 games, not get one. That is astronaut. So, starting here. showing single. >> How many days? Can we go back to the. top? >> 637 days. >> Oh my. A lot has happened in that. >> 637. who want to fly. >> 20 weeks. So right now we run it back a. little bit to the beginning. Uh they're. showing single high safety right now. Uh. you got a cut split. You actually not a. cut split. It's uh Coast Love in here at. tight end, but I'm going to treat him. like a cut split like an X wide receiver. because that's kind of what the route.
concept is going to be. You saw it uh. with the CD, the first CD catch, the. post over. That's basically what you're. getting here. They rotate to a split. safety here. So now Mika Fitzpatrick is. a deep half safety, but he only has one. vertical threat. That's Coasten Leven. So his key is the quarterback. You're. just reading the quarterback. They max. protect it up. He gets does a great job. breaking off, undercutting this play, picking this off. This was a phenomenal. interception. But get their first one in. 637 days. Minka had to make he had to I.
said it weeks ago when the Jets get. their first pick, they're going to be on. here. I don't care if they lose by 40. points, they're going to be on here. So. I'm glad they finally got that monkey. off their back. Way to go, Jets. Happy. for you getting a pick. That is. astounding that you haven't done it in. 637. days. You get a loss, but you get on. good D. Congratulations. I hope you guys. see that as a successful week four of. the NFL season. Any other good D? Maybe. some from some winners. >> Only winners from here on out. Speaking. of a winner, uh he got paid this off.
seasonason. Denzel Ward. Now, Dizzel. Ward, when his when it's all said and. done and you put his highlight tape. together, he will have like a textbook. like this is how you play the position. from a technical standpoint. We always. cut split. He's outside leverage. He's. going to hold his leverage. Michael. Pitman Jr. And once again, this is like. drill tape. He's square. He's under. control. He's never panicking. He's I. think he's actually looking at Aaron. already before this throw. Now, Tone. made the Hey, make sure you say that. Aaron's arm was hit. But regardless of. his arm or hand was hit, he was making.
his play on the ball. Just tremendous. leverage, confidence, and just him being. a a a supreme technician out there on. the edge. >> Michael Pitman's trying to set him up so. he can get back outside. Denzel Ward. does not bite. Remains perfectly. leveraged and it gets thrown right to. him. Aaron thought for sure he was going. to get shook inside or that Pitman was. going to get. >> at that point. That's why you got those. big guys out there. That's why you got. the big wide receivers, the Michael. Pitman Jr.'s, the DK Metavs of the world. because if you go back priest if you go. back to that clip Aaron and all the. quarterbacks know once you have this.
postfield safety we always talk about it. you're going to have oneonone on the. outside so you have press coverage. Denzel Ward Michael Pitman Jr. Now, is. that a matchup I'm going to go to if I'm. the quarterback? No. That's that's. that's the reason why he's one of the. highest paid corners in the league. But. he trusts this guy. Uh I'm sure this is. why the great quarterbacks are the great. quarterbacks. They feel like they can. fit it in. You had DK, you know, coming. across the middle of the field, but this. is Monday morning quarterback. But a. great job with the leverage, great job. with the pass rush. He knew exactly what. was coming, but you got to finish it. We.
always talk about catching ones. They. throw to you. This is on first and 10, so you get a first down interception. Offense coming right back on the field. big time play that obviously helped get. their victory. >> And to Tone's point, his arm did get. hit, so who knows where he was trying to. throw that. Let's head over to Hammer. Don. Don, I appreciate you sticking up. for Aaron there with D but Tone. >> Yeah, I I had to I had to say that. I. mean, it was still a Sprouts and avocado. and tofu sub that Aaron threw there. >> Um, okay. >> And I I will say this. I've We're no. longer training for Colts players ever.
again. I'll say that, too. >> Oh. Oh, big revenge game coming up for. Pitman. Expect Expect fireworks. Five. for 30 a tad. >> Don't you start for 30. >> Guy wins one game. >> He goes long. >> Okay. He's not going five for He's not. doing six yards a pop. >> I don't know. We We watched it on. Thursday. It was a lot of that. >> I would give my left leg for five for. 30. That'd be sick. >> And a Todd. >> And a Todd. You're right. >> Ton was pitching. Maybe just being able.
to say take back seat. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> On trades for the first three months. after the That's what Tone was trying to. pitch. And I I'd like to let you know we. would take that. The Indianapolis Colts. would take that in an absolute. heartbeat. We need him all the time. He. was. >> I think he'll find his way with you. guys. His arm got hit. He would have. made that play right there if that ball. would have been anywhere near where he, you know, Pitman could have got it. >> Yeah. But then why was Big Mike saying, "Pull some mustard on it, you [ __ ]. asshole." Cuz I'm pretty sure that's. what he said to him when he came to the. sidelines. >> Oh, he said, "Put some mustard on it.".
To Aaron Rogers. >> Yeah. >> In Pittsburgh. Mustard. Yeah, exactly. I. know. I get the Hines thing, but you. know, they weren't that's what he said. I mean, he's not talking about Hines. mustard. He's metaphorically talking. about put some [ __ ] mustard on a. football. >> Yeah. And Aaron was obviously disgusted. and he said mustard instead of ketchup. Maybe that is what all call the [ __ ]. Maybe that's what it was. >> Could have been kind of the start of it. >> That's good D though. >> Yeah, it was good D out of Denzel Ward. started the entire 21 nothing second.
quarter. >> or I don't know. >> how about Mon dude how about Mon rally. backwards hat. >> got the boys ready. >> got to get comfortable betting on them. again. >> yeah got got to get comfortable saying I. like Cleveland. >> yeah exactly the sports books too. they're dogs to the Jets this week. >> oh I love that I like Cleveland I just. said it pretty pretty good let's see uh. what the end up picks end up being for. all of us any other good D around the. NFL I talk Denzel Ward and how easy he. makes that quarterback position look. Uh.
there's some guys out there in. Jacksonville that are playing some great. great defense. Uh Travis Hunter being. one of them. He didn't make a pick in. this game that counted, but some. man-to-man coverage. Uh down here, even. if it's zone, you get man-to-man matches. in the rare area. And something I used. to love as a defender is having a spot, having a AJ Hawk down in there being a. low hole defender. The Jacksonville. Jaguars right now following up last year. with the turnovers. Leading the league. with six interceptions along with two. other teams, but this is one of them. You'll see the man-to-man coverage. I.
highlighted Travis Hunter just to show. that coverage here. But watch Jordan. Lewis in the slot. And then the. underneath defender, the linebacker. Boom. Cut, cut, cut. The communication. once again. Joe Burrow. Don't know if he. saw him. Don't know if he didn't see. him, but he just threw the ball to a. spot. Great job being there, having the. awareness, passing that other [ __ ] off, and keeping your vision back on that. quarterback and making a big-time. interception here at the top of the. fourth quarter. It's a onep possession. ball game, 16-10. The Bengals were going. in with a chance to score. Jamar Chase. is already out of the game at this. point. This would be before T. Higgins.
left, but this is a big, I think, turning point of momentum. Now, you're. getting Liam Cohen and this offense. another opportunity. Great job. communicating, communicating. Great job. making a play. >> The Jags are for real, huh? >> Jags are for real. They are complete. football team. They're well coached. They're executing on both sides of the. football and they they play they're. playing like they're playing with with. with fire with a sense of urgency. So, you love to see that. >> I love that for Jacksonville and Liam. Cohen. Hate it for the AFC South if. they're going to be a real team uh for. the rest of the time. It feels like. >> outside of Aubry, too. They might have.
the best weapon, kicking weapon in the. NFL. Cam Little's, he's unbelievable. >> Huge leg. Yeah, ready for it at any. moment. >> He had a 70 yard field goal against New. England. That would have been good. You. just like miss it by this much to the. right. >> Missing 70 yarders wide right is. >> exactly. Yeah. >> Certainly a thing to have. Liam Con will. send his ass out there, too, which I. respect. I like that they uh the family. down there. The cons, they've tried. their best since taking over the Jags. They're going to build an entire city. down there. Just, yeah, we'll build a.
city. Don't worry about it. Whatever you. need. However, we can win. Let's do it. Now, it seems like they have actual. sustainable success around the corner. >> and they're representing in London for. the next two weeks. >> Yeah. So, they're an international team. that's starting to dominate. Could be. good for the the league as a whole. >> Yeah. Their late season, what was it? What was that stat comment? >> Uh what they with the 10 straight. Yeah. Against the spread, right? Or 10 10 and0. in their last 10 regular season games or. whatever it was. They've been. >> insane. That's a good way to become a. darling quick. >> It's a good football team. Another good.
football team. Good defense. I said the. Jacksonville Jaguars were tied at the. top of the league with interceptions. The New York Football Giants tied as. well. Now once again top right you see. the score 3624. This was before the. touchdown here. You got Deontay Banks. former first round pick. I think a lot. with his success has to do with him. changing into this number two jersey cuz. it is sweep. But just watch him. Michael. Wilson. We always talk about his DBs. You do not give up slants in the low.
rear area. A lot of DB rooms will have a. no slant sign. And you also have to. treat that goal line almost like a cliff. that you don't want to fall up fall off. of. So you maintain your inside. leverage, right? Wilson's just trying to. set him up. McBride's running the slant. as well. And then you never get taken. into the end zone. So it doesn't matter. if he scores at the goal line or the. backline. He did a great job cutting. them off, reading the route, being. aggressive, doing exactly what you want. your quarterback to do, picking it off, and then taking it to the house. I mean, you can see the shaking. It was rocking. in there. It's a game winner. No better.
feeling in the world for a defensive. player. >> A key, we were in the building. How'd. this one feel happening? >> Yeah, not good. Uh, my headset was off. right about there. Right about there. It. was off. But hey, listen, I I was I was. confused because they got the ball back. or they they get the Marvin Harrison Jr. gets a PI call at the four. So, they get. first and goal from the four. 35 seconds. left, one timeout left, and they called. zero runs. I was like, give me one run. Just give me one run. >> And I'm sure you were saying that in the. microphone. >> I. >> Why are we running the football?
>> Got to run the ball here at some point. Got to time out still. We got nothing to. time out. >> They're only on the four. Everybody can. get back in time for if we have to. Quick snap something. Deontay Banks. >> He's a guy. >> NFC defensive player of the week. >> Congratulations to him. Will Riker Tetto. McMillan in the NFC side as players of. the week. Arisa for the Kansas City. Chiefs. He pinned him on the one. He had. a fake punt and also one of uh uh. special teams for Kansas City. Punched. out a kickoff return as well. Congrats. to Chiefs representing Drake May, quarterback for the AFC player of the.
week. Congrats to him. We weren't. talking about that a few weeks ago. seemingly out of his situation that. started the season uh that maybe. lingered a little bit from last year. And then Foyado Luickin, uh congrats to. him for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Obviously celebrating Jacksonville, their defense. Two of those guys are. players of the week. Drake Foyad, Matarisa, Tedo, McMillan, Deonte Banks, Will Riker. Congratulations. >> AJ, anything to say about the lads who. win the player of the week honor?
>> I tell you what, Olun, we showed his. pick right there. That guy is like for. some reason under the radar. I think he. he led the league in tackles a couple. years in a row. 2022 2023 I believe. Like he is quietly a stud and I think. hopefully he's getting more attention. now because I actually do like number 23. too at at the backer position. But this. guy has been a tackling machine since he. came in the league. >> I like number 23. I like the number two. I like Arisa and what he has become with. everything. >> weapon. >> You know he is an absolute weapon. And. Drake May, this has to feel good to see.
him getting celebrated as opposed to. pooped on May. >> Yeah, it was Drake May of subs for a. while. And it felt like those three. weeks were never gonna end. So having. that kind of bounce back. He had an. interception, but anyone who saw it like. it was it was not his fault whatsoever. It kind of was one of those freak plays. off Romeo Dobs's hands. He turns over, ball pops in the air. But yeah, he. played fantastic. I think I saw. McDaniels, there was a stat they use 70%. motion on the every single play uh for. New England, which is the most since. like 2015. So maybe some development.
here from Josh. >> I like what we've done. By the way, we've celebrated all these guys. >> this year or this week already thus far. >> Yeah, >> Bryce Young and T-Mac. Willie Riker was. my him nominee for Monday Night. Football. Deontay Banks there on Good D. Same with Olkun. And then Drake May has. been celebrated every day since he got. to New England by con man. And then Matt. Rising and Kansas City achieve special. teams. >> Talk about to being a Hall of Famer. >> Mhm. >> Look at us doing a little bit of ball. That was good. D.
>> AQ. Great work today, Bob. >> Great stuff. >> Great work. A debuck. Great work this. week. Way to go. >> Toxic table. See you guys tomorrow. Behind the glass. See you guys tomorrow. >> I believe it's going to look a little. different tomorrow. >> I believe behind the glass is going to. look a little different. Oh, really? >> Congratulations to Bruce and Mick. getting us through the time in which. Foxy was not here. >> Good work, >> boys. >> I believe we have a celebration coming. tomorrow back uh with a lad. Bruce and. Mick, tall task doing something that. you've never done before. Uh nobody else.
has ever really done what Foxy does on a. daily basis either. We're learning. through the entire industry or the. business. So, way to step up. Way to get. it done for the lads. You weren't. perfect. Okay. Nobody was expecting you. guys to do that, but you carried the. ball well, gentlemen. You should be very. proud of yourself, Bruce, and to Mitt. I'm proud of you guys. >> Thank you. Probably the most challenging. thing I've done in my entire career, but. it was a really cool experience. It had. its ups and downs, but like doing it. live in Iowa, like that's just something.
that I'll remember for my entire life. So, I I greatly appreciate the. opportunity and sticking with me as I I. [ __ ] it up pretty much every day. >> Yeah, you definitely [ __ ] it up at. least once every single day. But Foxy. has something that isn't perfect every. single day either. It's you telling the. story. It's Foxy telling the story. It's. our communication back and forth. And. that's why I like to talk to Mitt. Mitt, way to go, bro. >> Way to go. Cuz Mitt has to deal with. Bruce's. >> All right. >> Open his mic up, please. >> All right. We muted. When did we mute. him? Yesterday we muted him. We said no.
more. >> Yeah. >> Mitt, great work. Way to step up, brother. Nobody could have expected you. to be able to handle this role. I think. whenever I said I'm probably going to. put Mitt there, a lot of people said, "Is that right? Is that is that is that. is that right? That's what we're doing. Good job, M. You should be proud of. yourself. >> Thank you. I feel like uh that's a lot. of things that you do with me. You put. me in a good role and uh I probably. don't deserve it, but I try my best to. just at least make it work and do my. best. Uh that's my best foot forward. Put my best foot forward. Nailed it. >> That's what I meant. There we go. >> Thank you, Mitt.
>> Love you, Mitt. >> Bruce will move back to Mitt's role, which, you know, I think he might now. have a little bit of a better. understanding. >> Sure. of what is happening from Foxy's. perspective. I think their relationship. will continue to grow. And then Foxy. being back, I'm excited to see him back. in the saddle. He's gonna be all over. his [ __ ] Oh, Bruce [ __ ] this up. Oh, [ __ ] Bruce, what did you going to have. to be moving some stuff, you know, getting back into the house. I think you. guys did a good job. You should be very. proud of yourselves. Very difficult. stuff. Graphic design boys obviously. helped. and uh over there in hammer.
time, the way you pull clips for these. lads, you're incredibly uh kind to them. and the program. So, I'm proud of you. guys and I'm proud of this era that we. just had. Now, Foxy's back tomorrow. AQ. Shippley's back in Arizona. Debuts. flying over to Philadelphia to shoot. some stuff with NFL Films, which. obviously we love. And uh. >> football kicks off another week. tomorrow. >> Hell yeah. >> Before we get out of here, AQ, >> come on. AQ of football. Fire it. far. 20 people will win $500 if you're.
able to put that football into. >> this hoop right over here. Now, Jabba is. right in your face. You got a hand in. your face. You got the pressure of the. past in which you've made none. Certainly weighing on those shoulders of. yours. And you got AJ Hawk right over. your shoulder telling you this just. moments before you attempt the. impossible for you. >> Well, I just I have a question. AQ, have. you always had both forearms fully done? >> No, it looks like the top is getting. done in real time. I haven't seen I. didn't know if you got more ink. >> No, this one this one's new this year. I.
got this one done this summer. >> Yeah, >> it looks. >> okay. Good. Well, if you miss it, you. can blame it on that. Say it's still. scabbing up and it still hurts. >> Oh, so that might be why you haven't. made one. Yeah, looking for excuses. That doesn't really feel like an Ohio or. an AQ thing, but. >> you're right. >> Certainly something to think about. Debbut. Anything to say to the new. tattoo having AQ ship? >> Just fire the pig skin. Don't even think. about it. Just let it rip. >> 20 people, $500 who make it into that. hoop right over there. Fire that pig. skin, boy. Oh, best throw of the year. >> Yeah, best one yet. >> He even had a little touch on that. You. saw he was trying to make it into hoop.
>> This guy's a Western Pennsylvania. Interscolastic Athletic League. basketball hall of famer. So, whenever. he has a little bit of touch there, it. does it does look natural. One more. time, AQ for the people. 20 people, $500. All you got to do is put that ball. into the hoop. >> Uhoh. >> Oh my god. >> Yeah, you you didn't just fire that. >> Nope. I was thinking about it. >> Thanks for that. >> All right. We thank all of you for. allowing us to do this for a living if. it wasn't for all of you.
>> We wouldn't get to live the greatest. lives of all time. All of you are the. absolute best. Thank you all so much. Be. a friend. Tell a friend something nice. Change your life. We're going to sing. together. Team on me. Team on three. One, two, three. Byebye.
