Hey, hey, hey. You make me watch you. Put my hands up. My hands up all again now. I don't sound.
USA. USA. USA.
Come on in. Oh my god.
A. up a baby. Hey.
The following program is a collection of. students talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic, informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss, or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words.
because that's how humans in the real. world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further. >> Hey, what? >> Let's go. This show stitch and the fact that you. listen we are very very thankful. >> Makabe off the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers. >> You. start damn it. >> Your friend tell a friend something nice.
could change their life. sport. >> Hello beautiful people and welcome to. our humble abode the draft kings. thunderdome on this walk Wednesday. October 28th 2026. This sports program. begins now. >> Football is the greatest AND THERE IS A. lot of action around football right now. We'll have Ian Rapaort joining us in. about 9 minutes or so to chitchat about.
the fire sale happening here in. Indianapolis as after we go off air. DeForest Buckner, one of our best. players, our staple, and man, we traded. a number one overall pick for from the. San Francisco 49ers. Trades get trades. back to the San Francisco 49ers, which. whenever we were out there uh for Monday. Night Football, a lot of Niners people. saying, "Hey, tell Buck we want him back. or whatever. Tell Buck we want him. back." Fans saying, "Hey, we want Buck. back. We don't like that we did that. trade. We would like him back here." I. think Buckner a couple weeks ago talked.
about the same old song and dance every. single year. how we're uh potentially a. good team, end up being an ass team and. we have no idea why it's happening. Potentially it's the culture that had. been in there for the last 10 years or. so. We move on from Chris Ballard as a. general manager. Now we have a interim. general manager that isn't actually an. interim general manager. He's an. assistant general manager who wears. sweatpants whenever he goes to games has. for this entire time. Now he's got more. heat on him. He's trading Quint Nelson. to the Seahawks and now he's trading. DeForest Buckner back to the San. Francisco 49ers. We'd like to let. DeForest Buckner know we are incredibly.
happy for him, man. you're a good. football player for us. He had a neck. injury with us. I mean, he put it all on. the line for us. And whenever he was. playing, he was great. He was a great. leader. He was great in the community. He was great on a football field. And we. couldn't win. And now he gets an. opportunity to go back to a team that. has Super Bowl aspirations, Super Bowl. expectations in a culture that he knows. very, very well. We get in return a. fourth round pick. >> Boom. Take it. Hell yeah. >> Take it. So now we get a now we have a. third round pick, a fourth round pick. and a fifth round pick in two trades of. Quent Nelson and Deorest Buckner, our. two uh best players outside of Jonathan.
Taylor. And uh we shall see how the. entire rebuild goes going forward. Allegedly Quentyn Nelson, we'll ask Ian. Raport about this. Um perennial Pro. Bowler, AllPro, man who's respected by. everybody literally since the day he got. into the NFL was a top five uh top five. draft pick out of Notre Dame as a guard. He uh is voted by his peers, by the. fans, and by coaches as Pro Bowler every. single year he played football in the. NFL pretty much. And uh he gets traded. away for a third and a fifth yesterday.
And then it comes out he was on an. expiring contract. He was trying to get. a deal done, I guess, all through. training camp with the Indianapolis. Colts. And uh I guess Chris Boward said, "What are paying you 25 million or 20. million, whatever you were, but we did. pay Alec Pierce, the highest free agent. wide receiver uh deal of all time. And. we did agree to Daniel Jones, $100. million in contracts. and we did agree. to pay. So, you know, there's a lot of. things coming out right now while it's. all happening in real time. Makes us. wonder, man, are when are we going to be. able to reset the entire operation? A. lot of people wondering why we're doing. it so early. Have a couple weeks. I keep.
saying we because I'm a paying season. ticket holder for the Indianapolis. Colts. I was very lucky to be a member. of the Indianapolis Colts. I appreciate. Jim Ersce a lot for what he did for my. life and everything that happens out. there. I have my family here. I still. live in Indianapolis. So, whenever I say. we, that's what I mean. I have no say in. anything that's happening over there. I'm actually pretty intrigued by how. it's all going and why it's all going. the way it's going. So, I'm watching. alongside everybody else, but boy, Jonathan Taylor might be, I guess, the. only piece now that we can get really,
really, really valuable pieces in. return. Now, Shaft came on yesterday and. said multiple times, they're not moving. on from Jonathan Taylor. >> Now, was he doing that with a let's gain. a little leverage here? They don't want. to move on. and maybe we uh wink wink or. we actually holding on to Jonathan. Taylor and building around him because. we still don't have a number one overall. pick for next year and we've traded away. our two other best players. So, it is a. little bit of chaos. It is a little bit. of craziness, but it is this is trade. deadline season. So, Rapport will join. us and see who else is available. What. else is available? And if Jonathan.
Taylor now is just not going to have. Quinton Nelson, one of his best. offensive linemen. What. >> you know, how's that all work out? I. don't know. People wondering why we. didn't wait a couple weeks until the. trade deadline. Maybe get more value as. more people have injuries to the guard. position maybe or the DTackle position. instead of four or six, maybe you're. able to get better. I think they wanted. to. decision or whatever, but we as Colts. fans now understand completely that we. are uh. >> we're set to suck here for for a for a. good amount of time. If we get the hire.
right, maybe we're able to flip the. culture and get it going. Uh there was a. video of Carly Ers being interviewed a. couple years back, I think I saw, and. you know, on the internet, who knows. what's real and what isn't real. and. they can make Carly Ers look exactly. like Carly Ers and have her say things. that she never said before. That is. where we are technology-wise. And uh fun. little game, you know, that that's. happening. But I think she said. something about rebuilding about not. wanting to overturn uh general manager. and head coach in the same year, >> you know, cuz that's like a big deal. And if you look back to what happened. with Ryan Griggsson, he gets like, "Oh, Chuck's still here. Chuck was lame duck. for sure." I think Chuck knew that now.
If you talk to Chuck, he had to win a. Super Bowl or he was basically going to. be gone. But turning over at different. times, I think Carly has spoken about in. the past. Is she thinking the same thing. here? Keep Shane Stiken. So there is a. little familiarity in the building. Then. you hire a general manager. Does that. general manager have to be good with. Shane Stiken or is that general manager. basically come in, get a year to kind of. look around, see what they like, and. then move on immediately afterwards? Interesting situation and dynamic. And I. guess everybody is in the middle of an. interview process for not only the Colts. for next year, but every other team as. well. Jonathan Taylor's wife is keeping.
us updated on her TikTok about how the. family feels about how crazy it is. Feels like her uh rookie year again. She. said, "Everybody's getting traded. We. have no idea what's going on." Holtz. fans are very pumped up about the. increase in ticket price for next year. for the uh stadium. Whole new era coming. right down the pipe. What will it look. like? Raport will tell us in five. minutes. Talks tables here at Boston. Connor and at Ty Schmidt. Ty Schmidt, it's not just trades happening. >> No, it's not. >> Hey, baseball delivered last night. >> Big time. >> We had a 12 inning massive win for the. Tampa Bay Rays. I know you stayed up for.
every single swing and crack of the bat. There was an explosive and electrifying. 12th inning that changes uh the entire. series or does this just delay it? Ty, >> uh potentially changes the entire. series. Uh this is actually very similar. to what happened back when the Red Sox. beat the Yankees. Yankees beat the hell. out of the Red Sox in game three, which. is what the Brewers did to the Rays. Beat them 10-1. And then game four, the. Red Sox win in extra innings, walk off. the Yankees. That's exactly what the.
Rays did last night. And boy, I tell you. what, if you're a Brewers fan, you. thought it was over. Uh Cooper Pratt, rookie, hits a homer in the top of the. 12th inning. And you know, you could see. the the Brewers fans down in Tampa were. going nuts. They're already thinking of, you know, how many ice cold Miller. Lights and Coors Lights are we going to. be drinking at this bar that we've. already drank out. And then in the. bottom of the 12th, it starts, you know, pretty innocuously enough. That uh is. the uh the single that tied it. But Joey. Ortiz, you know, the Rays get this rally. started by hitting a little chopper to.
third base and he one hops Jake Bowers, the first baseman, which is something. that the Brewers haven't been doing. Eventually, Ben Williamson pinch hits. for the Rays and walks off the Brewers. They score two runs in the bottom of the. 12th after seating the lead in the top. of the 12th. So, they live to fight. another day and their uh the reward is. they have Jacob Miserowski on the bump. tonight for the Brewers. >> Okay, so tonight, Jacob Miserowski down. in Tampa again because the way they do. their best of seven is 232, >> right? Okay, so three straight uh games. down in Tampa Bay. The Milwaukee Brewers.
fans have moved into Tampa Bay. >> pretty much. >> They basically just kind of taken over a. bar, drank it out. Uh they've taken over. the stadium in multiple different. efforts and times. Tampa Bay tough place. to play, they say though, as a in a. hole. Is this Miseroski putting this. thing away or is Miseroski got to worry. about a little bit of Big Mo maybe. heading towards the Rays? >> I I think so. I think this this feels. like and again, anything can happen. The. way the I don't think anyone thought the. Brewers were going to win three. consecutive games to start this. Maybe. people in Milwaukee did, but these teams. are pretty evenly matched. But yeah, I. think momentum wise, I mean, that's the.
thing with Mizowski. His stuff is so. good. Could he, you know, no hit them. through seven innings? Sure. But I think. the Rays are going to be the rats. tonight. You know, they're going to work. counts, try to get him out early. I do. think the Rays are going to win tonight. and send this back to Milwaukee. And I. think if you're. >> Do you think the Rays are going to beat. Jacob Miseroski? >> I do. I do. And I don't know if they'll. necessarily beat him. I think there's a. chance. This is kind of very similar to. last night where it's tied going into. late in the game and then you kind of. have to figure out, you know, who's. going to deliver the heroics if you're. the Rays. But I think if you're a.
Brewers fan, you're okay with that. because I think you would almost rather. win it in Milwaukee than win it on the. road. I mean, you want to win no matter. what. But yeah, I mean, we the momentum. in this series has definitely tilted. And the Rays are one of those teams. where you give them a little bit of life. like they can they can really, you know, pounce on that and we'll see what. happens. >> Let's go a nine-year NFL vet, Darius J. Butler debut. Couple good wood can. really turn around an entire series. Tampa Bay was swinging that thing last. night. >> Yeah, it was a good piece of hitting. late in the game. I was definitely. watching. It's nothing like uh it's.
nothing like playoff baseball. All. right. Every pitch means something, especially late in the game. You getting. pitch runners in there, pitch hitters in. there. It was awesome. But I will be. excited to see Miz back on the bump. tonight with a chance to clinch a World. Series championship. But but playoff. baseball, it it always delivers. >> It really has been. And now I'm very. thankful when it's not on a night that. there's football, you. Like last night was a perfect night for. World Series baseball. I didn't make it. all the way to the 12th. I was very. surprised how that thing ended when I. woke up this morning. >> Yeah, that kid hit that homer cuz the.
announcer was kind of, you know, telling. the story and kind of g I think he was. four for five, I think, on. >> Yeah, he had an unbelievable night. >> Three years removed from high school. I. think they gave him like a million. dollars more than like his drafts like. that. It was great just hearing that. kind of story leading up to it and then. for that moment and then for for the. Rays to get up there. >> to win the World Series. I thought it. was over. That's what he thought. >> Yeah, absolutely. He's round and they. tell the whole story book actually. happening in front of you. Boom. Hits a. bomb. Gun running. I just [ __ ] won. the World Series. >> Potentially like World Series MVP too. with the way that you know like the.
night he had had that night and to hit. the game-winning home run like yeah he. he could have potent and if you you know. you went into World Series MVP like this. guy is a a legend for the rest of his. life. Not that he wouldn't be in. Milwaukee but just in general you know. >> Cooper Pratt first rookie in World. Series history with four hits in a. potential clincher. Also stat about. tonight's game. If Miseroski was to. clinch tonight down in Tampa Bay, he. would join Sandy Kofax in Smoky Joe. Wood. >> Wow. >> As sub 20 RA and 250 plus strikeout.
guys. >> Anytime you're in Smoky Joe Woods. >> conversation, >> one of the goats. >> You know you're dealing. Misowski has. had a phenomenal season. Sai Young. winner. 10 and some miles an hour every. single time he pitches. They're going to. talk about this guy forever as a. unicorn, as a workhorse, as a donkey of. a man who can just go up there and throw. it faster than everybody else at a uh. sustainability level that we've never. seen before. Clinching a World Series. would be storybook for the Miz as well. here, Ty.
>> Yeah, it would. And this, I believe, is. his first start in the postseason that. isn't a game one. So, not not that I'm. you know like obviously a lot of these. starts he's had have been high pressure. situations but like a little bit. different starting a game five than it. is a game one where you know you're you. know especially if you're playing at. home it's like hey if we lose this one. whatever not the end of the world like. he wants to go out there and shove. tonight and end this thing tonight. Uh. so we'll see what happens. I I'm very. excited to watch tonight. >> Jackson Turio too. >> Yeah he's unreal. >> What's the cuz y'all saw him on a short. list something he did with Babe Ruth I. think 10 hits.
>> Yeah 10 hits in the World Series. So for. through what five games or whatever. >> Jeez Louise. You know Tang didn't have a. damn hit last night but he on in the. field. >> Yeah. Vacuum cleaner. >> You just Yeah. Sucking everything up out. there. >> He does suck everything up with the wide. mouth. >> Yeah. Exactly. >> He's one of those commercial grade. widemouth vacuum cleaners out there at. second. Now he that type of platinum. glove in the infield would more uh than. likely be a shortstop, right? As opposed. to a second base. >> Typically. Yes. Because what I see is. him over there knowing exactly where.
everybody's going to hit somehow. I I. just got captivated by him. There was I. think in the seventh or the eighth. inning or maybe he he made four straight. plays. I mean it was two couple of them. double play. He turned real quick and a. couple other throws and he was like the. focal point. Been on the show. We talked. to him uh about him being a platinum. glove. >> WBC. >> It was on display. It was on display. last night. I I mean it's just. outrageous. You said immediately this. morning though, uh, probably going to. move him the shortstop at some point. because he's so good or is because he's. the maybe best second baseman with a. glove ever that we're going to keep him.
over there. >> Yeah, it's a weird thing because I I. mean growing up he definitely always was. the short stop, you know, cuz you your. best player for the most part is either. playing short stop or, you know, center. field, at least defensively. But it it's. weird that that's sometimes guys can't. make the move from second to short just. because you have to range a little bit. more and the ball comes off the bat a. little bit differently. So, it might be. one of those things where it's like, hey, he is the best second baseman in. baseball, at least defensively. So, why. why are we messing with things and. moving him over to short, >> you know, and it's hard to go from left. tackle to right tackle, left guard to.
right guard. >> Exactly. >> Okay. >> Uh, now that I understand baseball a. tiny bit, tiny tiny bit, >> your infield there is the offensive line. of your team. >> Yeah, you could definitely. >> This is the trenches right here. All the. routine [ __ ] that I I as former or how I. would formally view baseball as boring. is a little chopper into into the. infield. Somebody makes a play. You Oh, you see one person bobble it and it's. somebody's on first all of a sudden. >> Can't give teams more than three outs. >> and then they then they steal and it's. like, oh, these guys just got to do the.
boring. Yeah. >> And the hard and the tasking very. routinely and shut up and do it. They're. the offensive line or the defensive. line. That's trenches baseball right. there. >> So important to have that right. That's. why it makes sense why it's hard to go. from one side to the other because of. how many reps and how many things are. happening right there. Joining us now is. our. offensive line expert, our man who goes. in the trenches every single week to. tell us what's happening good and what's. happening bad. Ladies and gentlemen, he. is the color commentator for your. Arizona Cardinals, AQ Shimpley. >> Y. 12ear NFL vet, Super Bowl champion. I.
assume now that you're on the call for. the Arizona Cardinals. Congrats. You're. crushing it. Ely love seeing the clips. if you're getting excited for the lads. or devastated for the boys whenever that. happens for Arizona. More than likely. the the latter there. But I don't know. if you got a chance to see some of our. top five headlines. Number five headline. which is actually our number one. headline because we talk about it the. longest normally on Mondays. We're in. the pound the rock era right now. Absolutely. And I think we called this. early with the 13 personnel and the way. uh kind of the formations and the way. offensive minds were kind of cooking. with leverage and run ball. When you see.
something like this, does that make you. excited? Are we getting a little zipper. burned? Do we think this is what. football is now or how long do you see. this being the case every single uh. Sunday simulator? >> Yeah, we talk all the time that football. is cyclical, right? And so at some point. we are going to find a way to stop the. run. But right now we're still in the. era of hey, we're going to push the ball. down the field. So we got to play two. high shell. We got to play cover two. Two high safeties. Well, guess what two. high safeties means? Anytime you got a. check and there's two high safeties, we're checking to the run cuz we know we. got a light box. We got six people in. the box. And so I think the more and. more you see two high safeties having to.
protect against those speed burners on. the outside with all the skill that has. been coming out of college recently with. all these great wide receivers, now we. can hand the ball off, we can go big. personnel, we can go 12 and 13 personnel. and the evolution of the fullback has. come back. >> Okay. So that's why being able to. disguise cover two is such a weapon for. defenses because soon as you see cover. two or know that cover two is happening, we have a run game with a light box. So. we're going to take advantage of the. situation. Harrison Smith lined up down. at the box because he wants you to think. that we are not in cover two right now. You cannot run against us and then bang, they're masturbating you right into.
throwing to what they want. >> Absolutely. I mean, when we get our game. plan on Wednesdays, the biggest thing. there there's 30 different checks and. all those checks are one high, two high. checks. So, if it's one high, hey, we're. throwing the pass. If it's too high, we're checking to the run. >> And now football is where. >> we're we're pounding it. >> Pounding it. >> Remember, we all hated the cover two. that started happening because all these. explosive offenses. All we were talking. about for quarterbacks is, hey, got to. stay, just got to stay consistent. Just. take the easy one. Can't go broke taking. a profit. And all these quarterbacks. want to do the deep shot and the cover. two is just sitting behind it.
>> The coordinators too, >> what's that? >> The coordinator, they want to take the. shots. Those, you know, coordinators. Oh, yeah. Those are those especially. like prime time games, we used to have. deco, hey, this guy, he's trying to get. a head coaching job, right? He's going. to take these shots. So, we the the. thing was make him go the long hard way. And that's what Tom Brady was so great. at. He would get to the line. It would. be a check with me. He's going to take. exactly what the defense gives you. If. we got to hand it off 35, 40 times this. week, that's what we're going to do. If. we got to, you know, throw short ones to. my slot receivers and hit the tight end. on the seam in the red one, that's what.
we'll do. As opposed to like, hey, I got. to hit these five chunk plays or these. gadget plays. I got to get these in. And. that's when defenses take advantage if. they can stay patient. >> And these guys can't help themselves on. defense. I mean, no offense debuts, but. they cannot help themselves. They So, we'll double count, right? We'll call, hey, let's go double count. SET HOT 180. HOT. And then now you see that Harrison. Smith now he starts to show that he's. going back and then it's like okay we. got him. We got him. We're gonna check. to what we need to check to. >> I appreciate the fact that the coaches. and coordinators also have their own. eagles. They want to run scoreboard up. You know we learned that about Kelly Mo.
But those quarterbacks are able to just. remain consistent and boring almost. We're having success. They took Pat. Mahomes. Now Pat Mahomes has their run. game. >> So now he can't be doing it. So now he. has a chance to take more shots. Will. they continue to do as such or is it. going to be Seattle Seahawks defense. again and again and again against the. Chiefs? We shall see. In a run game era, trading away maybe the best guard in. ball would be uh certainly a difficult. decision to make. Joining us now is a. man who has a little bit more intel on. what happened behind the scenes as this. fire sale from the Indianapolis Colts. seemingly just begins. Ladies and.
gentlemen, he is junior NFL insider for. ESPN and NFL Network. Now he's an. author. >> Wow. >> What? I don't know when it's coming out. I just saw that he announced he wrote a. book. Ladies and gentlemen, Ian Raport. >> Very exciting. Very exciting. Did you. pre-order yours yet? >> Uh yeah. Yeah, dude. So, yeah, I got I. hopped on my book app. I said, "I want. book.com, Audible, and I said, I need. this page turner where the cameras can't. go." Uh, a year inside the NFL coming.
next. Holy [ __ ] Next August. >> That's 2027. >> Make sure you get it. >> That says 2027. >> It does. Yeah. >> Who cares? >> Order it now. You'll get it in time for. next Christmas. >> Okay. Well, to be fair, >> great stocking stuffer for next. Christmas. >> Exactly. Whereas, it's not written yet because it's. partially about this season. >> So, I can't write it yet because this. season hasn't fully happened. >> Oh, I'm writing a book.
>> Okay. >> So, he the thing you showed us is just. kind of blank page kind of empty canvas. What we. >> No, there it's not. No, there are words. It's just not actually the book. It's a. different book. We put a that cover on. Oh, so we actually can't judge that book. by this fake cover. >> Okay, got it. Okay, >> the cover's real. The book is fake. >> No, it feels like the cover's fake cuz. it's not real. The that other book has. been done. Feels like that one's real. >> That's the cover you went with. >> Well, we don't know. It's all work in. progress. It's all work in progress.
Yeah, >> that's a great. >> uh. >> Look at that. >> Yeah, dude. I'm heading right to my. Barnes & Noble today to say I want. something in August of next year. Hey, congrats, dude. I know it's a big. commitment. I'm sure. >> I'm sure it's going to be unbelievable. I can't wait to get where the cameras uh. can't go. Thank you for that. Let's go. to where the cameras weren't when the. decision was made for the fire sale for. the Indianapolis Colts. Now, Ed Dodge. shows up as first time assistant general. manager and head of personnel without an.
actual general manager above him. Uh he. shows up in sweatpants. I get a little. bit uh you know um flabbergasted, I. would say. But this. >> You weren't happy with that. >> Not not happy. I was just flabbergasted. by that. I I dress like an [ __ ] on. plenty of different occasions. I'm not. an NFL general manager or representing a. billion dollar franchise or having to. make trades with people uh that maybe. are those types of suit people. But on. that note, he has made some moves now, we would assume, alongside some others. How have we got to this space of yes, we. are doing this? And why do you think. they're doing uh some of our best.
players right now as opposed to maybe. waiting a couple weeks before trade. deadline to maybe or potentially build. up a little bit of leverage? All right. So, we'll get to the the first part, the. last part first. So, why now? So, I. think basically when you know they we. have all the stories on Sunday, everyone. knows Ballard's fire and all the stories. on Sunday about the Colts being open for. business and teams knew that they were. calling and what the Colts wanted to do. was like just get an idea after the. game, maybe play a couple games, just. see what chance they have of winning. They go out, it's an ugly game. Daniel.
Jones does not play well against a. really good Vikings defense. and they. come in on Monday and teams are calling. and when teams start to call like the. San Francisco 49ers I think that trade. actually it happened last but it started. first with DeForest Buckner like they. wanted him they wanted him now and. really it's a matter of like hey you. know this this is going to cost X I. believe the you know Colts originally. wanted a three the 49ers originally. offered a five basically how you get to. a four and it was like well we want him.
now and if you wait we might not trade. for him like we might just go get. somebody else. And so what Ed Dods and. the Colts did was say we're going to. take the burden hand and we are going to. just do the trade now. And I think the. same thing with Quentyn Nelson. You know. the Seahawks were like we want him. There were several other teams. interested. I think that was a really. really hot market. Um but if you're a. team that knows you want to put the. resources to trade for him, you want him. now just to get him playing for you. And.
that kind of creates the urgency. >> Okay. Creates urgency. A third and a. fifth round pick I believe is the most. that a guard has hauled for in a long. long time or something like that. >> That's a lot. >> Okay, that is a lot. The sports books. actually moved 100 points. Went from 11. to1 to uh plus a thousand to win a Super. Bowl when Quake Nelson got traded there. That is a huge jump. AQ Shipley got all. upset that I said that that was a big. deal yesterday uh from his offensive. line brain, interior offensive line.
brain, but I think people that don't. know the uh futures odds for a Super. Bowl much, that's a huge jump for an. offensive guard to make. We've seen. quarterbacks get traded and not even any. movement on the line. So, like a guard. having that much sway in a Super Bowl. pick uh or bet is huge. And I think. everybody sees the same thing. Quinton. Nelson's going to be perfect for the. Seattle Seahawks and McDonald's mindset. And the fact that he wanted to get a. deal done, right? Is that accurate? He. wanted to get a deal done with. Indianapolis this offseason. Is that. true? >> Yeah. Yeah. They they that that is true.
They had talks before him actually. You. know, it's like when trade talks or when. uh contract talks are going on, people. always say like, "Is it close?" And I. always say like it's it's either done or. not. This is one that with Quinton. Nelson and the Colts when Chris Boward. was there, I really thought it was going. to get done and then it just never got. there. Ballard never got there. The. organization never got there. And so. like yes, this is good draft capital to. receive for the Colts. But really what. you'd like to do is keep your really.
good players. Like this is why the the. really good teams draft great players, sign them, and then sign them again to. make sure that the really good players. are home. And like if you wanted to know. how high quality this guy is, like this. is a huge bounty for someone in the. middle of the season. Like a lot of. people wanted this guy that the Seahawks. think is like really really going to. help their run game. >> Yeah. And he's on an expiring contract, so he still has half a season left. But. uh I would have thought we would been. able to get a two or a one for this guy. Actually, I would have hoped for that. I.
think that's what a lot of people hope. for because of how damn impressive he's. been. You said it's a robust market as. well. So, you would think they'd be able. to get something better for him. He is a. phenomenal football player. It is a. lease, I guess, by the Seahawks, but. from what we understand about Schneider. and from McDonald after watching Hard, he's going to love. This guy is going to. be beloved up there in Seattle, just. like he was here. And then Dut has a. question for you. Is this a message to. the locker room? BECAUSE. >> JOSH DONS just requested a trade. Get me.
the hell out of here, he said allegedly. uh via Jeremy Fowler. Go ahead. >> Yeah, I see the Jeremy Fowler tweet. I. saw you reposted it as well and this was. a thought kind of going around, you. know, Colts Nation, the building. I I. got reached out to by a bunch of people. Like what what is what are you hearing? Like what's the message being sent to. the players inside that locker room when. you're just fing the team and now you. see one of our best young wide receivers. actually now demanding a trade? >> Yeah, I mean there those trade talks. have been ongoing with Josh Downs. kind. of thought honestly that it might happen.
yesterday afternoon. It didn't. I know. there's a couple teams interested. I. mean and and you know the there are some. teams that are good teams that need a. wide receiver. I mean the Chiefs we've. talked about. I know the Steelers have. been mentioned as a wide receiver team. Um there's going to be a market for Josh. Downs. It's just a matter of when it. actually happens. It's Wednesday and you. know we actually this year weirdly have. seen trades happen in the middle of the. week but usually trades happen Monday. and Tuesday. So, I don't know if it's. going to happen this week, but I do.
believe that he will eventually be. traded. And it kind of feels to me like. he was going to be traded anyway. It's. just a matter of, you know, can the. teams get to a point where they're. willing to offer enough where the Colts. take it. But, uh, I mean, again, like. this is sort of like we talked about, you know, this would be his first. contract or uh his first extension, whereas Quentyn Nelson would be his. second extension. But, like these are. the guys you'd like to keep home. >> Yeah. >> Like these are the guys you'd like to. keep in the organization. They don't. want to stay home. >> Yeah. Yeah. I think everybody's trying. to roll over the hills right now, man.
>> No, I mean now it's Now it's whatever. But I'm saying before. >> Josh Town's having his best year by far. Josh Town's having his best year by far. >> 10 games left. >> Yeah. And he last year he was great as. well. He he get he's the only guy that. we have that is seemingly open. >> consistently. >> You know, he's just open. That's the. only way you can really describe him. And uh somebody's going to really enjoy. him, man. But you talked about it being. Quint Nelson's second extension. He was. the second draft of Chris Ballard. Malik. Hooker was the first firstrounder. Obviously, he ends up leaving the Colts.
Quinton Nelson was the second first. round uh pick for Chris Ballard's era. He'd been here eight years. He got two. contracts. That's how long Ballard was. there. I mean, we're talking about like. people getting multiple contracts during. a Chris Ballard era. And now we're. learning about how it was all set up and. how we get out of it and who was chosen. to stay and who was chosen to move on. from basically with these contract. It's. like, man, we're in a bad spot, bro. We. are in a bad spot. The Indianapolis. Colts. I. >> I would I would agree. Unfortunately. >> Okay, >> I'm feeling for you. >> Get an extra tea. >> Okay, let's um let's talk a little bit.
about and on that note, here's a Hembo. stat real quick. Indie trades have. jumped their draft capital from 30th to. 13th. That's good. >> That is good. >> Okay, now we have 38 69, 82, 113, 132, 149, 174, 188, 22,229. Okay, none of. those are in the first 32. >> Yeah. Yikes. >> Okay, you still see that? But we we. still have time. >> We still have time. Maybe a Jonathan. Taylor, Josh DS collab, you know. Oh, >> and then we get two ones from. >> about Warren. >> I mean, if you're already just kind of. selling OFF EVERYBODY. WHAT. >> TYLER WARREN'S DAUGHTER?
>> SHAKE the tree. See what we get for. Tyler Warren. >> All right. Okay. Uh teams that are going. to potentially be in the buying business. of the fire sale that is happening in. Indie and other places. Buffalo Bills, they need some defensive help. Detroit. Lions, need some defensive help. How. about the Dallas Cowboys, Denver. Broncos, Chicago Bears, Kansas City. Chiefs, maybe the Jags? Maybe the Jags. need a little bit of action in there. San Fran already makes a move. Minnesota. Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, all people. that could potentially be buyers at this. entire thing who have already started. purchasing rap. We appreciate the hell.
out of you, brother. >> Thank you guys. Appreciate the book pub. and thank you guys for all uh. pre-ordering. That was awesome. >> Nobody's going to remember this book. >> Really appreciate it. No, that's the. thing. You order it now and then it just. arrives in like a little bit. >> I don't know how that's even legal. I'm. allowed to August 2027. That feels like. a putting it on layout. Get it in. >> You're the ladies and gentlemen rap. Thank you. >> Joining us now is a man who's probably. writing a book or having a book written. about him. An absolute stallion, a. member of the bull ring of honor for the.
Houston Texans. Also, first ballot. Awesome gentleman. Ladies and gentlemen, the number one color commentator for CBS. alongside Jim Nance. JJ. >> WJ. third down. Tough one last night, buddy. Geez. >> Geez. Brewers. Maybe tonight though with. Miz on the M. I would I would. that Tai's telling me this what happened. when the Yankees came back from down 3 0. against the sorry when the Red Sox came. back against the the Yankees whenever. Connor celebrated it in the ALCS has. never happened in a World Series but.
there's a chance that all that momentum. has been cracked right down in a Tampa. Bay team don't I like the Bruins too. they're friends of I don't know anybody. for Tampa. >> I don't question Murf he makes the. decisions I don't question if we should. have brought Miz in because there would. be no today if yesterday ended it I I. don't question at all full faith and. trust. >> Okay. I didn't know that was a. conversation. So Miz, people were. wondering if Maize was coming in. yesterday. >> Yeah. No, there were some people saying. that like he was managing not to lose.
game five instead of managing to win. game four. You just can't you can't make. that that move because if they somehow. do lose last night and then you can't, you know, pitch Miz today, then like. it's a it's a much different situation. So I would agree with JJ there. You you. live and die by what Murf is doing and. you you would just accept that hey. >> we gave one back. That's the luxury of. being up 3 0. >> So they wanted to have Miz pitch. yesterday. >> Yeah. And I also. >> like start yesterday not come in early.
No, come in like late like in extras. Have him just like go get loose in the. bullpen and then come in and see if he. can jump. >> But getting loose in a bullpen, I think. from our understanding is that's that. would count as a day of him being full. pitch. >> Yeah. If he if he goes last night, the. chances of him starting today are like. next to zero probably. >> Okay. >> And the game's tied at that point. Maybe. it's a different I mean I I saw some. people were saying like, "Hey, you have. him come in and close it after. two and 12." You go 3-2 in the 12th.
>> Would he have enough time? But that. that's also he's not like you have. McGill who has who has been great all. postseason. It's it's a it's a weird ask. to have a starter just hey we need you. to come close the game right. >> J is saying would have been nice though. to potentially see him in there. >> Don't question it. I'm just saying three. outs. I'm not I don't question it at. all. I don't question Murf. The guy is. unbelievable manager. Don't question it. at all. I just do sometimes wonder. Just. sometimes wonder.
>> It sounds like you're wondering it. We. need. >> got to trust your bullp. >> We need three outs of 315 mph each. batter. Okay. We need 105. 105. 105. 12th inning. They're they're not even. gonna they're gonna, you know, let's go. back in here. They're gonna BE SO THAT I. didn't even think about putting M. Would. he had time to warm up? Like when would. you would he have been started to his. warm up? In the 11th inning, then he. would have had start getting warm. >> What? Right after Cooper Pratt hits that. homer, they would have they sent him to. the bullpen and he starts getting loose.
>> Don't question Murf. I'm not question. Murf. Nobody. Not me. Not anybody. >> I'm not doing it. Skipper knows more. than I would ever know about ball. Uh. foul territory. >> It's fine. We got plenty of time. We're. taking over trop down there. That entire. building is just become Miller Park. South. So good to go. I mean, the. flights back and forth between Tampa and. Milwaukee are just humming. >> Yeah, another day in Florida, too, for. the Milwaukee folks. You know, as we. head into fall and into uh winter, you. can't blow that type of situation on a.
one one lead or row. >> Okay. So skip it. >> Trust Big Pat. Trust Big Pat. >> I would say though him me waking up this. morning to finding out that Mizaraskki. went jogging out in the bottom of that. place would have went [ __ ] apeshit if. he that door opens. Boom. The Miz comes. >> He's never been in that situation. BEFORE. >> OH, BUT A PERFECT TIME TO DO IT. World. Series clincher. Yeah. I'm not. questioning it, but [ __ ] Hey, that. would have been the amount of adrenaline. like if he walks but then like if he.
walks the first guy, there's a chance. that it's like, oh [ __ ] we made a. mistake. Get somebody loose. Let's go. Let's go. Get him out of there. You. know, >> man, I should have known that this was. the combo that for baseball. I I would. have done the whole first hour on the. thought. >> Their bullpin's been so good. That's why. you can't really That's why you can't. really question it. >> Or leave Ashby in there. >> Yeah, you can have Big Ash. Take it too. Ashby's crushing. >> All right, let's do fantasy baseball. where health of humans doesn't actually. matter. Let's say it's uh video game. stuff. >> Oh, okay. >> MLB the show. >> Where Miz could wake up every day and.
pitch. Then he's coming in in the sixth. inning last night and he's throwing six. innings every day forever. >> Okay. All right. All right. So, let's. put some qualifiers on that. >> How does this work? Yes. I would like. him to start every game. >> Okay. Uh let's put some qualifiers into. this conversation then. >> I love the Tai went to the 68 like no. come and say, "Well, why why wouldn't we. just start him if there's no health. >> every single game?" Okay. So, there's no. health limitations. Let's. >> The percentage is there. I think we got. to get back to that conversation. >> That guy's your peer. Okay. That guy is.
your peer. You guys are. >> love him. We all do. Great dude. I can't. believe he said it. Couldn't. >> I I My favorite tweet was couldn't. waterboard this information out of me. I. saw that one. That one made me laugh. pretty good. There was a couple others. that went to bat for you know. I think. >> got to be able to freely ask questions. >> That's what people are saying. >> Yeah. Even dumb ones. >> I agree. But if you're in a position of. authority and I have the answers and you. don't every once in a while, I don't. think you should let out that you guys. all know something that I don't know. You know, just in that world, I don't I.
don't think uh but there was people. going to bat for dad saying, "Hey, what. he's saying makes sense. If these. [ __ ] at the Pat McAfee show didn't. really over talk over him and then it. was nice to see everybody kill that guy, too. He was absolute idiot." Yeah, we. did. We get multiple. >> He had us up to the word like the. percent word like, "Okay." But then when. he went on with the himbo exam, it was. like. >> four out of everyund. >> that that's not real. >> The word itself makes sense. I I can. understand that. >> We appreciate Dano though. We appreciate. Dano being the guy he is, you know, and.
this is probably going to be a part of. his entire bit now that he understands. like. >> Yes. With uh some math equations you. have to add context to it. Yeah. Like. percentages you have to add a little. context. This is just like a baseline. for everybody to compare to. Now Dan. knows that. And for that, what happened to Dan? The. >> baby broke. >> Now, the percentages of the Miz coming. in the bottom of the 12th and getting. three outs and win the World Series, what is that? 100. >> No, absolutely. >> Not 100. >> Absolutely not. The [ __ ] It's hard to.
It's hard to do that. And also, the rats. don't die. They don't. >> He's kind of questioning the decision. Skipper made. it third base. Every Brewers fan is in. that position. You don't do that. You're. up 3 nothing. Okay, you eat that one. last night. That stinks. And then guess. what? You have a 100% fully rest fully. rested Miz on the bump today. They are. the better team. So, they should win. You know, it's like. >> I'm on your side. You know baseball a. lot more than I do. But boy, in my head,
>> if they blow that last night and then he. can't pitch tonight or he, let's say he. throws 40 pitches last night and that. basically counts as a start, so he can't. pitch today, they're probably not. pitching him on two days rest in game. And then all of a sudden it's like, oh. [ __ ] it's game seven. We got to throw. we got to throw Miz now, but he his his, you know, like his routine's all messed. up. Not on normal rest. Like that's that. that would be Murf panicking big time. and being like, "Okay, we we got to push. all the chips in pot." No, you don't.
You're up three nothing. You don't need. to do that. >> All right. I like I I trust. >> That's why Pat That's why Pat gets the. big bucks. That's why he makes the. decisions. That's why I sit on the couch. and I watch. I'm a fan. I'm just. chilling. >> I get it. If I was a Brewers fan, I. would have been like, "WHY THE [ __ ]. ISN'T MIZ coming into the game right. now?" I would have. >> We trust Pat. We trust Pat. We We put. the beer on ice for one more night. We. just leave it there. Don't worry. >> And we get a whole We get a whole Miz. experience. Exactly. We get a whole Miz. experience tonight. And he'll he'll. throw here now, right?
>> Yes. He's the starting pitcher. So, >> but I'm saying normally they pull him. out and they have uh multiple different. times like fourth or fifth because they. have a good bullpen. Want to keep him. going. He's tonight is. >> this is it. >> Well, >> this is his last start or would he still. do game seven if. >> No, this will probably be his last. start. Now, if it goes to seven though, then yes, I would assume that he is. available in the bullpen. Here's JJ Watt. as a. >> going to seven. >> Is this new school? >> There's JJ Watt as a teenager here. >> How old are you here, J? 13, 14, 15.
>> That's that's that's a while back, man. That's great. >> Shout out to Hembo. He did a little uh. internet splunking. Found this one of a. youth uh JJ hitting dongs down there for. the Milwaukee Brewers, I assume. I. didn't know. Lifelong fan. I appreciate. and respect that. >> Oh, yeah. I've been to County Stadium as. a kid out in the bleachers with the. glove, the whole works, man. And I've. grown up on stadium sauce on BRZ and hot. dogs. >> Been there. Like there's this little. field in front of Miller Park. American. Family Field. Sorry. Miller Park. Miller. Park. >> Uh I tried to buy the sign. That didn't.
didn't work out. Um but I wanted to buy. the sign after Miller Park. >> Who got it? Some other some other guy. some other woman or man who's a. billionaire got that thing from you. I. assume that was a hot commodity. >> Um yeah. No, I I don't know where it. ended up. I just know it did not end up. in my possession. Uh which was a little. sad. But anyways, yeah, lifelong fan. literally. Um, so this is really, really. cool. Like I got to be in Houston, see. the Astros win it during Hurricane. Harvey and everything that went on there. and now having a chance to see my. childhood team win it is pretty awesome.
>> Yeah, >> pretty awesome. >> Especially in the state of baseball. right now where the CBA is getting. negotiated and they say, you know, all. the teams that just dump deferred. billions of dollars into their roster, the only ones winning. And in the. Brewers like, hey, this is this is how. we play. Tampa Bay Race, same exact way. And it's only a matter of time before. the Pittsburgh Pirates go from winning. how many games in one season? >> Uh 82 this year. >> to over a 100 plus, right? And then. we're off and running. >> It's over 500. >> Yeah, you're damn right. Pittsburgh. Pirates about to win this thing just. like the Brewers did. We have the same. situation as they.
>> Yeah, except you guys are in the same. >> identical. >> which is why it's a little bit tough. >> We have the same type caliber skipper. We have the same uh the pitcher. >> Got fire pitcher. You got. >> used to. young. Let's move along. Let's move. along. He's back. He's all the way back. J, let's talk a little football. Uh, good luck to your Brewers and kind of I. mean, we feel like we're part of that. team as well. They've been very kind to. us. I like. >> I like that Skipper uh made the decision. he made. I like decision he made. So, we. can experience all of the Miz tonight.
>> Unless, >> what's that? >> Unless the Miz pulls down his leg, buddy. >> And then it goes back to Milwaukee. All. of a sudden, it's 32. All of a sudden, it's 33. game seven. Oh, no. >> But I don't think that's going to. happen. >> You know what? >> I watched hockey instead of the World. Series last night, but I still don't. think that's going to happen. >> Okay. Well, that's cuz your Red Sox had. the year that they had. We need to get. into a World Series so we can watch him. do his thing on the field. >> But I will enjoy the hell out of the Miz.
tonight. Let's get to NFL. You watch a. historic second half, I do believe, out. of Joey Burrow and that Cincinnati. Bengals team this past weekend. AFC. North, everybody's above 500. You start. doing the projections for the playoffs. Uh AFC North has a lot of. representatives and the only team that. isn't in already is lurking behind. What. did you learn here? And uh Lamar. Jackson, I believe, is back. I believe. he is back on the field, which is great. news for the Baltimore Ravens. How do. you feel about where this Bengals team. is this year versus maybe years past. where we knew they spent a lot of money.
on flashy toys but weren't going to be. able to really win in the playoffs if. they got there? Do you feel differently. about them this year after watching them. and getting to know them a little bit. here? Yeah, I mean I think there's the first. thing you look at, you obviously already. know about Joe Burrow, Tiggins, Jamar. Chase, and that second half was insane. Like very rarely have I seen a first. half to second half discrepancy the way. I saw in this game. Um first half they. did a whole bunch of underenter stuff. trying to establish the run and they've. heard a lot of talk about that. They. talked about it a lot during the off.
seasonason about establishing the run. and trying to be more balanced in their. in their game and at halftime they. clearly just went in and said screw it. We have Jamar Chase. We have Tiggins. We. have Joe Burrow. We're going back in the. gun and we're throwing this thing. through the air. You can't stop it. And. they could it was just that's what. they're going to be. That's who they. are. They have these playmakers. I I. really do believe like just turn it into. a shotgun and chuck it game. Now, I know. there's some rumblings about maybe a. Jonathan Taylor possibility to add to. the offense. There is so many good.
playmakers on the outside and also the. run game just isn't hasn't quite been. there. I don't even know if that's. something that's truly necessary. Their. offense is dominant and. >> what are you questioning? >> I didn't know Jonathan Taylor maybe. going to Cincinnati Bengals. I'm just. now in my mind kind of piecing that. whole thing together. >> I've been seeing Vikings as well. >> Think it through. >> Minnesota, >> maybe Squan to the Bengals, too. rumors. out there. >> I mean, think about what they added on. defense. Like, their defensive additions. have been unbelievable. You got Dexter.
Lawrence with four sacks. You got Boy. Maf out on the edge crushing it. You've. got Jonathan Allen. Nobody runs between. the tackles on them. Jonathan Allen and. Dexter Lawrence. Boom. Stout, incredible. players and getting to the quarterback. They've they're doing a really nice job. DJ Turner on the back end is locking. people down. And then the underrated. player of their team that's not getting. anywhere near enough credit nationally. is Amarius Mims, the right guy. He is. left on an island more than anybody in. the league and he shuts people down more. than anybody in the league. >> Hey, you like this guy, huh? Hey,
>> he's a massive human being. He's playing. right tackle. He's so good in pass. protection, but like JJ mentioned, right? Like they have been trying to get. the run game going. It's one thing that. they are missing. I think that's the. only thing that they're missing on. offense. But again, Mims has been on an. island. He's he might be the best pass. protecting lineman in the league right. now. >> He'll be getting a trenchy right now. Protector of the year awards. Seven week. trenchy. >> Yeah. halfway through he's been. unbelievable. >> Okay, I like that. AFC North has great. offensive lines, including the Cleveland. Browns are up there at the top, which. you love everything they do.
>> Cleveland Browns are doing unbelievable. things on offense. Rebuilt their entire. offensive line. Five new guys. I think. Pittsburgh's playing unbelievable up. front. Baltimore, I think, has the. pieces once Lamar comes back. Yeah, it's. a it's a really good division. >> Hey, that's what the North does, though. That's what the North does, J. Now, there's a couple other groups not. getting the credit they deserve because. uh one of them is so far away. I think. we watched a show the other night that. uh has to be respected and appreciated. Go ahead, Debbut. >> Yeah, JJ, I know you got Chiefs Broncos, so I assume you start breaking down that.
tape and I'm I'm sure you've never seen. Patrick Mahomes and that offense look. like they did against that Seattle. defense. Are you more concerned going. forward with the Chiefs offense or more. impressed blown away by that dark side. defense over in Seattle? >> Impressed by the dark side defense. Uh I. think the Chiefs obviously they're going. to figure it out. They've played well. They're missing some of their great. players and they're going to get some. guys back healthy, maybe make some. moves, who knows, and try and add to. that offense. But that was a. historically bad performance for them. and I don't expect that going forward.
But I do have such an immense amount of. respect for that Seattle defense and. Mike McDonald and everything that they. do from Nikki Manari being used all over. the place and just this insane Swiss. Army knife to the biggest thing about. their defense is their ability to stop. the run with just the four guys up. front. So those DTackles sit in so tight. against those double teams. They use the. drop a knee technique which I love as a. DTackle taking on a double team and they. are able to stop everything up front. So. then you can do all these different.
things behind when your guys up front. are so darn good. >> Do we think it's a mentality thing like. McDonald? Because Quinton Nelson gets. traded to this team and after watching. Hard Knocks, what a perfect addition for. him just the way he goes about his. business. that defense they are I mean. dogs you you listen to them speak after. the the Super Bowl parade it's like they. they they got no problems not being. known but they hate everybody and they. know they are better than everybody. I. even worry said uh when he was asked. afterwards by Melissa Stark about. Kenneth Walker coming back and the 100.
game 100 yards rushing game streak he. had going or something like that and his. first response like I think we had some. sort of streak too like it's like 35. straight games not giving up a 100 yard. rusher. He said we didn't lose any sleep. about it. It's just another day to do. our thing. And you talk about him being. a freak. He's dropping into coverage. He's rushing the passer. He's he's I. mean he is unbelievable. Chris. Collinsworth told an incredible story uh. about in 10th grade he goes into the gym. or something and uh it was workout after. practice and the strength coach said if.
you can jump up and touch the ceiling of. this gym right now we won't do an extra. lift or whatever he jumps up smacks the. ceiling. So I guess like Ian War since. he's his entire life just like best. athlete of all time has the dog. mentality and they're all like that. I. love the way Schneider's built this. team. I like the way McDonald's coached. them as well JJ. They're they're a. problem out there in the Pacific. Northwest, J. >> Massive problem. And it's the technique. also. Yes, they have incredible designs. and schemes and things like that that. but the way that they teach the.
technique there and the way that the. guys play the technique with hands, feet, eyes, that's just execution is at. such an incredibly high level. They. deserve a lot of credit and and a lot of. coaches get credit for their schemes. when they draw up cool things, but these. guys play with fantastic technique as. well. NFC West, you know, has a couple. offensive gurus, got a couple defensive. gurus. They got battles out there. San. Francisco 49ers just added another piece. back to their repertoire. Go ahead AQ. >> Yeah, they bring Raheem Morris out and.
doing a couple different things on. defense than Solid did, right? But now. they haven't been with Nick Bosa and now. you add DeForest Buckner to the mix. He. goes back to San Fran. What does he. bring back to that defense and will he. immediately give them a pass rush from. the inside? Yes, the Forest Buckner is playing as. well as I've seen him play in his. career. He is playing phenomenal. football. I mean, I know you've watched. it up front and close with the Colts, but uh it's the the way that he's. playing, the effort that he's playing. with, the speed, the swim moves, the.
pass rush, he is he is playing. outstanding. And now you take him from a. team that's struggling and you put him. on a team who's in the race for the. Super Bowl like and he's going back to a. place that he's had success. I mean, he's got to be a pretty happy man right. now, and I love watching this guy play, and I can't wait to see him do it again. in this defense. Now, >> he goes back to the team uh that. obviously Super Bowl expectations every. single year. Super Bowl um environment. in the building, you know, a place that. he's comfortable with. He's been two and.
12. It was like like the Colts are two. and 12 in their last 14 games. I'm so happy for him because like we had. their game against the Steelers a couple. weeks ago and he told us the story of he. was going to retire. He came downstairs. one day and told his wife, I think it's. I think it's over because he had the. next surgery and he was going through. the rehab and it didn't look like the. outlook was was rough and the rehab. process was tough. And she literally. told him, she was like, well, hang on a. second here. Let's make sure you get. your rehab taken care of first from a a. medical and financial standpoint. So.
stay don't retire until you're done with. the rehab. And so as he was going. through the process and everybody in the. building laid it out for him and they. did an incredible job getting him back, he kind of re re felt good and he came. back and now he is truly playing some of. his best football ever. So I'm just. happy we get to watch him continue to. play and I'm happy he's getting a chance. to compete. >> This is 30 yards down the field. He's. dtackled. He's big. He's the biggest guy. on the field as well. He He's incredibly. tall. Mark Berota just gets caught from. behind. I I mean he is an absolute.
igniter of our team. Now the neck injury. he's out for a long time. He had a. couple other injuries too in the past. He's playing in the trenches. He's a big. guy. A lot of hits. Things are going to. happen. But there was a time for our. team, not in the last, you know, couple. seasons where when he was on the field, we won. And then when he was not on the. field, we lost. It was like the easiest. indicator. When DeForest Buckner's. playing for us, we win. When he's not on. the field, we lose. He was phenomenal in. the community as well. We will lose. We. will. We will miss him mightily. Oh, yeah. I.
mean, we will miss him mightily here. And it's uh a full rebuild at this. point, but Jonathan Taylor's not. available allegedly. Jonathan Taylor, >> it's going to be like being in that. building has got to be tough right now. because you clearly see what happens. There's some there's some teams that are. struggling like the Dolphins are. somewhere where you talk about building. towards the future. You talk about, you. know, we're we're working towards like. right now in that Indianapolis Colts. building. They are just tearing it down. to rebuild it later. You are not. currently actively building towards the. future. You are building towards a war.
chest to build for the future. That is. not a fun place to be for the rest of. this season. >> Josh Towns has requested a trade. Uh to. your point, that happened. >> Was that necessary? >> He wants I you know, okay. Was it necessary? >> It's a long time a lot of football. We. haven't even got to November yet. >> That's what I'm saying. It's one thing. when you're, you know, you're tanking. and it's week 15 and, you know, you got. your offseason plans and it's like, all. right, am I going to hold off this. surgery? I'm going to get this surgery, but like it's 10 weeks, 10 weeks left.
Mathematically, you're not out of it, you know? So, you know, that whole. thing, but I mean, that's a long time to. be in the B. You know how it is. Showing. up, especially once it gets to this. point, the season starts getting cold. and [ __ ] outside and now he's just. showing up and, you know, it's a. disconnect and guys probably don't want. to be here. guys want to go get to like. that's a coaches everybody's kind. through the season. >> dude it's not. >> cancel the season. >> it's not even November. >> it's not even November yet. >> not even yeah not even Halloween yet.
>> what are they going to do for their. Halloween party canled this year. >> what. >> the person that's hosted it's. >> what's the overunder on the amount of. Colts games you attend the rest of the. season. >> I'm going to see paying season ticket. >> how many I could be 100% attendance I'm. just asking the question. >> Do have a pretty crazy schedule. Those. Sundays are a nice could be a nice. little Don't get to watch all the other. games as much because I'm enjoying the. Indianapolis Colts. There will certainly. be a lot of potential reasons to not go, but there ain't nothing like being down. there in a lighthouse. Yeah. You know,
it's city of Indian. Well, I don't even. know if it'll be the city of. Indianapolis going forward. I assume. we'll become the Tampa Bay ballpark with. uh Milwaukee Brewers fans filling up. that place. >> We We're going for the other team now. We talked about this. Cowboys are coming. to town. Can't wait to watch Dak and C. >> Yeah, we'll see Shotty. Yes, >> Sean. He's back in there. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It's something, you know, it's a. good community event. It It's a long. time. >> It's a good place, man. It's a good fan. base. Great building. Love it there. It's going to be his tough sled here. >> We're closing the doors. We're making it. just a room and we're hanging out at the.
game. >> Okay. >> Fireplace. Turn the fireplace on. Get. the fireplace rolling early this year. >> We I still don't know if that's. something that's real. You know, you. know, they did call it the uh Luke Soil. Library there for a while cuz how quiet. it was and then the fireplace would play. and JJ said, "This makes me feel good. like I'm coming home." Actually coming. Yeah. You loved it. >> Yeah. But it had been the loud house for. the last few years. And last year, I'll. remind everybody. September October football. That was the.
Colts Super Bowl. >> Yeah. >> We're number one team in the league at. this stage last year. Best offense in. the league last year at this point. number one headline every single Monday. on over every reaction Monday on this. particular program. Colts are winning. the Super Bowl. That that's what I was. We looked the part defensively. We had. guys everywhere we paid and we're. learning now who we're choosing to pay, who we're not choosing to pay, who we're. moving on from, who we're keeping. around. >> We we had best offense. Daniel Jones is. best quarterback. He was going to win. the MVP potentially. He's going to win. the MVP. >> And Payton's Payton's record. >> Jonathan Taylor was scoring a touchdown. and half a game. I mean, every single.
week it was remarkable. That was just. one year ago. So, I would like to use us. as an example for other NFL fans. Enjoy. it. >> Enjoy it if it's. >> Are you showing this now, Foxy? >> Enjoy it if it's. >> going to be holding on to last year's. first eight weeks for the next five. years. >> No, IT AIN'T A HALF A decade situation. You can make one good hire in one of. these spots and all of a sudden the. culture shifts and you get guys to buy. in and all the little things that you. need to be great are done as opposed to. maybe overlooked by a majority of the. team versus the superstars that we're.
getting out of the building right now. I'm sure Quinton Nelson was an attention. to detail, accountability driven, tough. guy. Okay, great to get him out of here. >> Yep. >> Deorest Buckner. I assume that was the. same thing. I assume DeForest Buckner. never missed a meeting, never missed a. treatment, never did anything. We got to. make sure we get him out of here. >> Josh Downs. >> Okay. Josh Downs. >> It's the It's the high do right by you. mentality. That's the mentality. It's do. right by the guys that did right by you, but. >> it's a business at the end of the day.
also, you know. >> Yeah. And we got a guy who's the uh head. of personnel and assistant general. manager. He's not an interim general. manager. Shut up in sweats at the game. I love it. I love it. Okay. I appreciate. him being himself. And maybe it's the. shirt underneath or, you know, maybe. because it's not like a clean sweatsuit. That was a little alarming to these. guys. You know, the these guys were. certainly a little. >> Oh, come on. >> I know. I said it. I I dress like an. [ __ ] on a regular basis and I even. was like, "What? What is this guy doing?
You know, you're a general major. >> The joke right out from under me. You. pulled the eight mile. You pulled the. eight mile on me. >> Yeah. Chatter Bob. [ __ ] my girl. I'm in. 31. You the whole thing, bro. I. understand what you were going to say. But no, I'm not a general manager. >> I want to know what's in the bag. I want. to know what's sandwich. >> No, it's not a baloney. >> Orange slices for halftime. >> No, it's all his ideas on who he could. trade. This guy, I was told by the. building, somebody from the building. reached out to me and said, "Hey, take. it easy on that. He's a good guy." Okay. >> What would this guy do? Just cuz he. dressed bad? We don't I don't know. We.
just showed him seven times walking in. in sweats. He He's just He's just trying to work, man. He didn't fire the guy. >> Yeah. But the guy that got fired it was. like his but I mean he's very tight with. so my immediate reaction is like, "Oh, this guy's not going to want to move on. from all the decisions that he was a. part of making as well. Like it's kind. of on him. This kind of entire thing. >> general in charge. >> I agree. He's calling the shot. The. building told me though, hey, you don't. think this guy is going to go on to be a.
GM sometime? I'm like, I don't know. They're like, well, that's the way it's. being talked about. This is his. opportunity to showcase that he could be. a general manager. He's going to try to. get everything absolutely right. And. they also told me that I would really. like this guy if I. >> a little too much of the, "Hey, take it. easy. He's a good guy." Like, are we. trying to win a Super Bowl or we trying. to win a [ __ ] Nobel Peace Prize? Like, I'm I'm tired of hearing that, oh, he's a good guy, though. He's a good. guy. Who cares? Guess what? Some GMs are [ __ ] And I. bet those guys win. >> Yeah. >> I mean I mean people are talking about. Bill Bellich. He's a really good guy. A.
great guy. Like well no one says that. but he also won you know seven Super. Bowls. So. >> yeah. I don't know how many Bill Bich. are out there. We're going to find the. next one though. We're going to find the. next one. >> Well that's what's really tough. Sick of. hearing that. If there are five jobs you. know and let's say there are five. coaching candidates. Where do you think. the Colts fall without a first round. pick uh this off season and without a. really long-term option at quarterback? Where do you think they fall on those. five? Did. >> you see our draft capital move from 30th. to 13th? >> Still no first.
>> What's that? >> Still no f. You're still not even. getting a top 30 player. >> Look at the stats. Look at the stats. We. went from 30th to 13th. I'll have you. know, J right there. 38 69 82 1132 149. 174 188 220 229. Right there from 69. >> It's pretty good. Pretty good. >> Thank you. To 220. That's where you f. that's where you build your team at. >> That's true. >> We'll get a first later somewhere. We'll. get a first later somewhere. There's. going to be people that are drooling. We. got a big salary cap. I think we have. like the number one uh this year that's. left. Not that we're going to use that.
We've bailed on a lot of contracts. Next. year though, I think we have top 10. salaries. Top five salary. Uh so it's. going to be. >> I wonder if you guys will be able to. find just like a stalwart offensive. lineman that you could have for the next. like 10 to 15 years. >> on that old line to just set the culture. and be a guaranteed great player in that. spot. Or maybe you could find a DTackle, you know, that can get after the. quarterback or chase people down the. field. >> A running back. >> I think you could find some. I think you.
could find some in there. >> Maybe like the best running back. >> People are saying the 38th pick is the. pick to have next year. Not one or two. >> So you can get a wide receiver that's. young and could get open. >> Mhm. >> They're going to trade three of those to. go up. 3869 and 132 for number four to. go get a guard. >> Mike Singleary was drafted 38th over. >> That's exactly. >> Maybe that's the coach you get. That's. what we're talking about. That's what. we're talking about. >> Jage, last question here from the lads. because it is a problem and I love the. way you and uh Tom Brady are operating.
on the calls because you guys are Hall. of Famers and it actually does have some. sway. Go ahead, Ty Schmidt. >> Yeah, JJ, roughing the passer is a very. serious issue. Uh you guys had one one. really bad one in your game that got. picked up eventually and then, you know, Burrow gets hit by one of his own. linemen and then the the Packers Lions. game just had several really bad ones. I. mean, it happens multiple times across. the league every single week where it. seems like some chicken [ __ ] roughing. the passer gets called and it in. inevitably always leads to points for. the other team. Is there really anything.
that can be done with this? I don't. think it hurts when guys like you and. Tom Brady are, you know, kind of. publicly bitching about it during the. call uh during the game, but like what. can be done here? Are they going to. change this? Have you heard anything? Like is there any even communication. about like, hey, we really need to kind. of like fix this or clean this up a. little bit? I absolutely loved in our. game that they overturned that one. Uh. it took maybe a little longer, but it's. it got overturned. Very happy about it. I mean, this play, they threw a rough in. the passer flag. And now now I I give.
refs credit because he's standing behind. the quarterback. So all he saw was a. something hit the quarterback's face and. go backwards and his head snap back. And. so the ref throws that flag. And now I. can see that. I can understand why you. might throw that flag. I was so happy. because I was already halfway into my. rant that they picked that flag up which. was great. Now some of these other ones. like yeah we we really have to stop with. the ridiculousness of this and we've.
been on this topic for. >> it's always on third down J every third. down I think Dan Rowski mentioned this I. believe a couple others have mentioned. it we're all holding our breath on third. every third down basically and then more. often than not. >> yeah go ahead. >> just stay standing like like if they had. better balance like if like this I would. fall too if I was the quarterback. because I know I'm going to get the flag. but like that that's That's That's. absurd. I I'm I'm on a short circuit. here watching this. >> I don't want you to short circuit. And I. know we all know these refs, okay? These.
refs don't want to be a problem. These. refs, they have egos. They have. families. They have lives to live as. well. So, they don't like getting. spotlighted as being doofuses and. ruining the game. Okay. They don't they. don't like that. We need to utilize. everything we possibly can to help them. Yes. Like I know we're slow rolling into. the technology because we don't want to. have a, you know, a radical change on. what is allowed to be reviewed, what's. not allowed to be reviewed. We should be. trying to assist these guys as much as. possible. And we should also have a. little transparency in the conversation. so that when we hear somebody like by.
letter of law, >> this is wild. Sorry. >> Wild. >> Yeah, I saw you go crazy about this one. as well. But like if we were able to. utilize the technology and they were say. by letter of law, yes, context actual. play, no, we're going to pick this thing. up. I think we should do that. I I I. think we should be confident enough to. do that for the good of the sport. That's a lot of judgment [ __ ] that we're. putting a lot of power into people's. hands. And who are those people that are. making the call to like, yeah, let's. pick this up for the good of the game. But it's like it something has to have a. little bit of some of these refs have no. feel for the game. It's not on them, but. they just have no feel for what it is.
So, they can only go off of letter of. law in book and it's like no way are we. calling that right now. They don't not. in third down to extend a game, not in a. fourth quarter to to maybe ice a game. Like there's no feel really from some of. these guys and I don't know if that's. fixable other than people being able to. radio down into them. >> Yeah, that's why like replay assist has. proven to work. Every single time I've. heard a replay assist call where they. either pick up a flag like they did for. the Joe Burrow rough in the passer that. clearly wasn't rough in the passer, it. works. And it feels like if they don't.
do those replay assist, hey, guess what? That's what the refs are getting asked. about after the game. So even if you're. a ref and you're like, you know, hey, this is my game. I'm calling it the way. it is. I don't want replay assist. It's. like, dude, they're they're gonna ask. you about these calls that we're going. to help you with. Like JJ was freaking. out about that cut block that turned. into a chop block penalty on third down. that Zack Taylor then used one of his. timeouts to continue to berate the ref's. rep about because there's no way that is. what the call should be, especially in a. spot like this where the Cincinnati.
Bengals are going to get the ball back. >> Yeah, you talk about some of these big. time calls. I I mean offensive holding I. AQ I'm sure you've seen this offensive. holding penalties through week 7 2022. 2023 2024 2025 and 2026 it's it's has a. 53% increase from what it was and those. 10 yard penalties that's first and 20. that's second and 17. >> still not enough. >> those need to be 5 yard penalties don't. listen to this biased man right here but. I generally think in the box in the box.
offensive holding penalty should be five. yards because you can call it on every. single play. >> You call it on every single play and. it's an immediate drive ender. I I mean. there's not a lot of plays for second. and 17, first and 20. You're just hoping. to gain some yards so you can punt it. back. But if you call it, it's over. It's like that should be a 5 yard. penalty. But I think what we're all. saying is we understand it's a difficult. job. Guys are bigger, faster, stronger. than ever. And by the letter of the law, there's some [ __ ] that needs to be. called. We just like a little bit more. feel. And if we can help them, let's do. that. Right, J? >> Yes. I That's what I like on that. Detroit one. Like I'm like I said, so.
happy in our game they called it back. I. would love to see a few more where they. radio down and they say, "Pull that one. back. >> Let's let him play football." Hey J, you're the man. Thank you for joining. us. Can't wait to follow along the rest. of the year. Good luck to your Brewers. and ours, I guess. >> Go Brew Crew. >> Let's go Brew Crew. LET'S GO MISS. Let's. go Mace. JJ was wondering about last. night's strategy. Didn't say it. publicly. He would never do that. Skipper, maybe they win tonight. That's. JJ Watt. We appreciate. >> Jay is the man. No press conference this. week to talk about international.

know baseball has delivered for us. It's. an honor to be a baseball fan and I have. a sense that they're not going to not. have a season next year. That's great. news. >> I hope it is. >> That's off of absolutely no information. >> I know it is. I hope you're right, though. >> I Stephen A did that this morning. It. was one of my favorite moves. I love. catching up with Stephen A in person, by. the way. I get a chance to chat with him. on Monday Night Football and just talk. to him about everything he's doing right. now. His world, his, you know, he'd been. in Philadelphia for 17 years as a. columnist, I think, there for nine. years, a reporter there. So, it's a.
little bit of a a homecoming back there, you know. And then Jerry Jones is there. So talking Dallas Cowboys. It was really. a Stephen A, you know thing. Earlier. today he said, "I've been hearing. things.". He said, "I don't know if it's true. because I haven't asked directly to the. source, but I've been hearing things.". And it's like what he's saying is, uh, hey, this is pretty much how it is. Then. he laid out what he didn't know, but. then then he had a full-on follow-up. reaction to that. >> That is been uh kind of life in sports. media for a long time. Sports is. delivering to us in such a big way.
Football has so much drama going on. We. got trade requests happening. We got. fire sales. We got sellers. We got. buyers. We got magic happening in the. sports world. And tomorrow we have a. finals happening at 12:30. 12-year NFL. vet, Super Bowl champion, player coach. Jackie Moon. AQ Shipley's here. >> AQ walked in. Soon as I walked in today, AQ was already in here. Great to see. you, AQ. AQ goes 12:30 finals for the. WNBA. I don't like that. He said, uh, my. daughter would like to be able to watch. it. She's going to be at school. She's. not going to be able to check it out.
the future of basketball could be. affected by this. I said, "Well, I. you're coming to have me kind of I we. weren't a part of this conversation. We. we had nothing to do with it." I think. everybody though has heard about this. Maybe that'll be a driver for people to. watch it at 12:30 tomorrow because of. how ridiculous it all seems and sounds. The talks of tables here at Boston. Conor, Ty Schmidt, Ty, I know you're. watching tomorrow while you're going to. be forced to because we're going to be. watching while we're doing this. particular show and we'll be keeping. updates. But the WNBA is cooking, the. NHL's cooking. In the NBA, everybody's. hurt. I don't know if you've heard about. this. Everybody in the NBA seemingly.
hurt here very early into the season. Don't love that, Ty. >> Yeah, not good. Especially when there. has been so much momentum through those. first. You know, I'm one of those guys. who like I'm not really going to pay. much attention to the NBA now. You know, we talked about you season starts on. Christmas and then you kind But it's. been hard not to watch some of these. games because we've had several electric. performances and it does seem just like. every night like, okay, this superstar. is going to be out for two months. This. guy's going to miss two weeks. This. guy's going to miss a month. This guy's. going to miss six weeks. It It really. does kind of just It kind of just cooks.
your goose a little bit and it's like, >> man, I what? I don't even I can't even. look at it now. >> Kind of burns your butter a little bit. It does. >> Yeah. It kind of gets you going a little. bit there. Yeah. I I don't love that. this is what it is this early. Shams. will be joining us in about 10 minutes. or so to break down everything. happening. Nine-year NFL vet Darius Jay. Butler here. Debbut. Great time for. sports. Also, >> great time for great talent in the NFL. right now. Oh, yeah. Joining us live. from Anatican, Ohio is a man who's the. alltime leading tackler for the Green. Bay Packers. Uh AJ Hawk. Hako, good to see you, bro. Uh a lot of.
trades have happened uh and potentially. going to happen since the last time we. talked. We will have to dive into that, but. >> let's delay no more. >> Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is. a man who's being uh discussed as the. best player in all football. A man is on. pace for 470 touches this year, >> which would be second all time behind. Jacob Wilder 1984. He had uh 492 touches. 415 of those were. rushing yards or rushes. So this man.
would have the most touches in the. history of the NFL, both running and. catching other than Mr. Wilder in 1984. in the history on pace to score 3,000. touchdowns. An absolute stallion. a. stud. Ladies and gentlemen, the. workhorse for the Detroit Lions, running. back Jir Gibbs. >> Jir, >> did you hear all that? Did you know? Did. you know all those stats? 470 touches. you're on pace for. That's what we can. do now with uh modern uh math stats and.
calculators. That would be the most. Jacob Wilder. Maybe you should watch. some of his film to see how he was able. to close out the season. This guy was a. pounder. He was a grounder and a. pounder. >> I have no idea WHO THAT IS. >> OH, JACOB WILDER. WE DIDN'T JUST LEARN. ABOUT HIM THIS MORNING EITHER, JIR. We. knew about this guy. Historic. Larry. Johnson also up there in the talks for. the amount of touches that a player. would get from the running back. position. Can we talk about this? You. become the guy this year. David. Montgomery obviously uh leaves the. Detroit Lions, goes down to Houston. It.
becomes your backfield. Can you tell me. about coming into the season your. mindset was and how you feel at this. stage of the season thus far? Uh. >> I mean my my mindset always stays the. same. Just be consistent in what I do. And it's not like I haven't done it. before, like ever. So, I mean, I wasn't. really putting too much pressure on. myself about it. So, >> in terms of my body, my body feels good. I feel fine. >> Okay. Yeah. Let's talk about this. You. train every single year to be in the. best shape of your life. You're touching. the ball a lot more than you were last. year. You're on pace to have, I think,
150 more touches this year than last. year in total, which is a vast. difference on the body. Can you tell me. a little bit about how you feel and what. you do to stay maybe uh ready for the. hits that you're inevitably going to. take? >> Yeah, I mean I feel feel pretty good. right now. Coach Choice always, you. know, tells me get a cold tub, contrast, all that. Stay in the treatment. Like. it's really it really help me be pushing. me to, you know, stay, you know, stay. healthy. >> You're an abnormal athlete, brother. It. is fun to watch. You're explosive,
dynamic, and uh incredibly tough. Go. ahead, AJ. >> Yeah, Jir. I want to talk about like. protecting the ball. Like I know this. era that you have grown up in and you've. played in like these defenders are. coming after the ball. They're hunting. We see the the peanut punch almost every. single play. I guess how is that like we. watch JJ Watt try to tell Jim Nance how. running backs are putting another arm on. like trying to protect the ball. Is. there anything special that you do or. that you picked up uh throughout your. time in the league to protect against. all these defenders coming after the. ball? >> Yeah, I mean what I seen that what JJ.
said, I mean that was I mean I was. right. That's how we're supposed to do. it now. Put the uh ball up here and then. I think it's better for if you put the. wrist. Yeah. I think it's I think it's. safer. >> See to take it out. >> I run like a four, you know, four four. five four five. >> Sure. >> You know, hand. >> Yeah. Really good. I I'm timing myself. >> when I'm running it. >> Okay. >> I don't know if I could run as good with. the hand on the This is just comfort. This is just what we got to do.
>> I mean I mean that's like in traffic. though. I ain't going to run like that. Just out in space, you know, >> not an open field. Yeah. >> Well, I do cuz I'm super conscientious. of the ball. Ball is the program, you. know, and situational football uh is a. big topic. Turnovers, massive ordeal. You guys offensively have been special. Also, a lot of big situations determine. the outcome of the games. You guys. little bit of a unique operation with. your aggression. Go ahead, DBud. >> Yeah, J situational football. You see. something week in and week out with. something going right or wrong for a. team. you guys with MCDC, Dan Campbell,
very aggressive on four fourth down. How. has your mindset changed or has has it. changed since coming into the league and. then where you are now? And then what. was there a conversation before you went. down? Obviously, you could have scored, but you went down to kind of secure uh. the lead in the win. Was there a. conversation in the huddle before that? >> Yeah, I think depends on who you're. playing or the situation going for on. the fourth down could be good or bad. But I mean, I like going for it. I mean, if I play mad in college football, I go. for it all the time. talking.
It's more stats, more more more chances, you know, to put points on the board. So, and then. you said. >> going down at the end. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It was just, you know, Miller. time. I mean, just go down, waste the. clock, make them use their timeouts or. whatever or just Yeah. waste a timeout. and just kick the last field goal. Just. finish with the ball, the offense. >> Yeah. But you know how selfless that is. with how much time was left. You could. score a touchdown. Pad your own stats. >> It looked like it was his first time. ever doing that too. I thought he tore.
everything. Your damn. >> knee. Yeah. Can we slide? Can we work on. a a slide or maybe just go straight to. the to the ass? >> The first time the first time I did it. better. I don't know what. I think my. cleat just got stuck. >> Yeah, my cleat just got stuck. First. time I did it better though. >> We were all scared to death whenever you. got up and you did a couple little like. shakes to the leg and then they followed. you. I don't know if you know this. They. had closeup on your ass walking the. entire Is he limping at all? Is it did. this guy just you know because we don't. see that type of you know like buy into. your team there just to get a win like.
spectacular opportunity to score a. touch. We talked about the 470 touches. This could be a historic. >> Yeah, I love that. Are you always been. like that? Is that just because of how. Dan Campbell and the boys are up there? Like can you tell me a little bit about. your culture? >> Yeah, we're we're really selfless. Everybody on the team don't matter if. you're getting the ball a lot. If you're. getting the ball at time, we're going to. do what's best for the team always. Tell. me a little bit about that quarterback. of yours. Go ahead, Ty. >> Yeah, Jir, what is your relationship. with uh like with Jared Goff? It seems. like a lot of the stuff you see, he's.
very quiet, very mild manner, but then. we'll see some stuff like in the locker. room where he's pretty fiery, dropping. fbombs and stuff like that. What is your. relationship like with him and what's it. like being around him on a day-to-day. basis? >> We got a great relationship. Uh, you. know, that's big bro. Uh, he's very. sarcastic in almost everything. So you. can't take what he says literally. depending on what it is. That's what I. learned because he my rookie year my. rookie year he always used to joke with. me. Couldn't tell if he was joking or. not until you know I got to know him a.
little bit better. But uh yeah, he gets. fired up. Y'all start talking [ __ ] to. him and he going to he going to turn it. up. He likes to talk [ __ ] back. That's. what I like to see. >> Yeah, I like to see that as well. You. got weapons across the board. playmakers. all over the place, including. potentially maybe the most athletic. tackle in the entire league. JMO scores. a touchdown, but that was not the topic. AQ has a question for you, Jamir. >> Yeah, give you a chance to talk about. your left tackle and Penn Su, right? They he runs a mesh route in the game. I. mean, first of all, talk about how crazy.
that is. Secondly, was that put in just. this week or was have you guys been. repping that for the whole season? >> Yeah, that was just this week. He had a. couple other routs, but he didn't want. to run them cuz he wasn't in the. progression because he wanted the ball. So he take he said take those out. I. forgot what side he was on. I ran like a. flat and I was looking inside to see. where see what he was doing but he was. running away from me so I really. couldn't see. >> So we got a full How many play? H you. don't have to tell us this. We should be. expecting Penn Soul to get loose out.
there though at some point. >> I hope so. At some point give him a hand. off or something. >> What a freak athlete. That's the first. draft pick of this entire era, right? The Holmes and Dan Campbell era. Foxy. dieard Lions fan would like to say. something to you, Jir. >> Yeah, Jir, first and foremost, man. Thank you so much for what you've done. for the Lions, the city of Detroit, the. state of Michigan, and Lions fans. everywhere. Since you've gotten in the. building, being a Lions fan is much more. fun. I want to ask about a play that. happened that went kind of viral over.
the weekend. You guys draw the Green Bay. Packers off sides and then you all. celebrate after. And we need to know, was this planned or was this just good. team synergy? So that that dance that me uh Tess and. uh Saint was doing I think two years ago. at practice we did the same thing to our. defense and I just started doing it and. then me and Saint did it like the next. game like that week and then ever since. then every time we draw five we just do. that dance but this time out it was.
different. Everybody started doing. something different. It was funny. It. was funny. >> Yeah it's incredible. Look how together. your team is. I mean, everybody on the. same exact page and that is such a. ridiculous looking dance for everybody. to be doing it. Great content here for. social. >> No penalty. I like that. They say, "You. know what? If the whole [ __ ] team's. doing it, we like it." And uh I I. appreciate that. You talk about your. team synergy and obviously the. celebration here as you draw somebody. off sides and very late. I mean that. >> all Tom Brady was talking about just. can't lose your discipline. >> Can't you just got to have composure.
then you guys jump off sides what three. plays later or something like that. We. got towed the line a little bit. Not. crossover. You got tow it a little bit. though. >> Yeah. Because you never know what. they're going to let, you know. You. never Yeah. Yeah. You got to at least. dance. You got to. >> Yeah. See what we can get away with and. what we can't. >> You guys been doing a lot of. celebrating. Jared Goff's uh stats right. now are MVP worthy. You look like the. best player in all of ball. Shout out. you. A lot of work goes into that. Obviously, there's a lot of teammates. that help that out. And you talk about.
the synergy. I wish I could experience. what the Dan Campbell Detroit Lions. were. We only see photos really. Go. ahead, Connor. >> Yeah, Jir. Prol prolific on the field. and also off. I believe you guys had. your Halloween party. You are you've had. some great costumes. I think you were. Jeff Hardy one year as well. What was it. this year? And what what is kind of the. Halloween party scene like for the. Detroit Lions? >> I was Michael Jackson this year. Grammy. Awards. >> Big Michael. Michael. >> a specific Michael Jackson last year.
Uh, Jeff Hardy, how serious are we. taking this all? Did you throw it. together last second? And how many. teammates were at the Halloween party? >> Uh, no. I planned this for about four. months. >> Think you got order? You got to order. all the stuff. It takes a while to get. here. >> Of course. >> You said how many people were there? >> Yeah. >> Who hosted? >> Hutch. It was his first time, too. First. time hosting. >> Okay. Hutch. >> I like Hutch doing that. Everybody. there, obviously. >> Not everybody, but it was a good crowd, though. >> Yeah. Some people have kids and stuff.
>> Sure. >> You know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Pane wasn't. there. I don't know what he was doing. >> I was working on his routes. Sorry. Go. ahead, AJ. >> Our coaches invited. >> No. >> All right, dude. Good luck the rest of. the way. We appreciate you uh taking the. time. Yeah. Cheers, dude. Ladies and. gentlemen, Jir Gibbs. >> Dan Campbell walks in there. Everybody. All right. >> Come on. >> Yeah. >> Walks out. >> Well, from what we've heard, though, Dan. Campbell might be the guy you need. One.
of those things. Last man standing. >> exactly. >> at that party. >> Four of them in there. >> Yep. Mhm. Sig. >> Who's got Sigs, man? Who's got Sigs? >> Him and Vable staring each other down at. the keg at 5:30 a.m. would be a fun one. >> Yeah, >> that'd be a fun one. I I I think they. both have their own. They're not. sharing. >> No way. They're sharing sick. >> No, they're not cutting them. No. >> You know how small those things look. when they're giant hands, too. >> Here, bottle here. Keg there.
>> Salt, man. You going to bed, man? >> Who's doing it? Not me, dude. We go all. day. Well, I'll do breakfast. Yeah, I'm. sure you will. That's the type of. meattheads they actually are, though. But. >> football geniuses. Nobody's talking. about the Lions being good this year, Foxy. >> No, no one's talking about it. And I'll. tell you what, that win over the Packers. has changed my entire perspective on. this team. Had we lost that game, which. we tie, we easily could have lost that. game. You guys make a field goal, we. don't go down and score. Everything's. different. But I really believe in this. offense. The defense, man, they played. so much better. And I just got word from.
Nick Moraldo back here that Kirby Joseph. is back on the practice field. I thought. he was done with football forever. So. things are looking up for the Detroit. Lions. >> Brian Branch gets a pick last week. Kirby Joseph is back. Tell me about. that. >> Oh, that is great news. Probably went. healthy, the best safety tandem in the. NFL. And Brian Branch, he got his uh. pick in the deep part of the field. Kind. of doing what Kirby Joseph does uh best. I believe he had it all proseason a. couple years ago with like nine picks or. something like that. just covering. ground as a center fielder back there.
And then you get Brian Bench, Brian. Branch, I'm sorry, down there around the. ball in the box, wreaking havoc in the. run game, and in the pass game. So, I. can't wait to see these guys back. healthy and finish the second half of. this season pretty strong. So, he's. activated off PUP and getting back to. practice this week, right? >> Yeah, he said he just got back on the. practice field. >> Okay, that's awesome. >> Yeah, there's a couple other people that. have just gotten back on the practice. field. I believe Micah is. >> next week's supposed to. Okay. >> Yeah, because they play on Thursday. Hey, just real quick though, this has. been an interesting timeline for Micah.
for what we expected, what it is, because he was supposed to get on the. field what, last week I think for his. first week of practice and then they. were saying maybe he'll play after one. week. That was never in conversation. them coming back week six Sunday night. football against Cowboys. >> That was that just a media pipe dream? >> Yes. Yes. Absolutely. And it just became. like the expectation, you know, cuz it. cuz he got I think he got hurt in like. week 13 maybe against the Broncos last. year and um he obviously like he wanted. to get back as soon as possible. But I.
think people saw that that Cowboys game. was Sunday Night Football and kind of. just circled it and just like did the. math in their head like oh well this. would make sense. >> Yeah. But we weren't the people weren't. just doing that like on the internet. People just say stuff. >> No. people that were actually. >> it was like insiders. >> that new information were like telling. us like. >> week six Cowboys Saturday Night Football. that is what we got came out maybe the. week five so he can get a week ahead of. >> yeah nothing from his camp has ever. indicated that like hey he might be back. for week five against the Bears or week. six against the Cowboys the whole time.
and like AJ alluded to it too it's like. hey the Packers are are very very. cautious with this kind of stuff like. they're not going to bring him back. until he feels like he is 100% healthy. and ready to go. But this is good news. Like if they if he is going to practice. next week, I would assume that he might. not play next week, but hopefully the. week after that and then it's, you know, green flag racing. >> Panthers fresh out of a terrible. football game uh where they lost bad to. the Bucks. And then Packers lose to the. Lions after some self-inflicted wounds.
late down the stretch there. Thursday. night football should be great, but if. the Packers defense can continue to play. well and then you add Micah down the. stretch, AJ, that's desirable situation. for the Packers as a whole. >> Yeah, I would say so. Especially when. your defense has been is starting to get. better and we've had some obviously key. injuries, but yeah, to get a complete. game changer back like Micah, when. you're already starting to, I guess, hit. your stride, it's a it's a great sign. for the Pack. >> You can just drop Micah Parsons into the. defense, AJ. >> Yep. Outside rusher. Absolutely. I've. I've seen situations to where maybe say.
like uh a DB or somebody comes in to. where they haven't been playing all year. and they get forced they come back into. the lineup week 10 and you have some. like new guys that have been playing. together. There could be a couple weeks. of of weird like miscommunication even. if it's a stud coming back into like the. secondary. But if you're an outside. rusher absolutely like here you go bud, you can drop to the flat a few times and. then here we go. Let's just rush the. passer and get three or four sacks. >> We're in an offensive line run the ball. league. What does Michael Parsons. joining that defense do to you guys? >> Well, it's a nightmare because now you. got that guy that can win one-on-one and.
Jonathan Ganon actually does such a. great job of getting guys one-on-one. situations. The way he blitzes, the way. he brings safeties into the box, you. never know what's going to happen. I. mean, they ran cover zero so many times. last week that it forces you in. one-on-one situations. If you want one. guy in a one-on-one situation, that's. the guy. >> Hey, Q. Is there more people that are. good offensive play callers or defensive. play callers? >> I would say offensive. I would say Yeah. Well, I mean, There's more of them, he's. saying. So that means the defensive play. callers that are good in this stage of. football right now are at a premium.
>> Yeah, absolutely. I mean I mean off the. top of my head, I can probably say. there's five elite defensive play. callers. >> McDonald, uh, Spags, let's go Raheem Morris, let's. go Flores, >> um, >> De Mo, he he's now calling the plays and. they've gotten better, but again, >> like they weren't very good early. I. know he wasn't calling the plays, but. they were being very vanilla up front. Um, >> Zack Cerr's coming on a bit. >> I think pretty good in Atlanta. >> Albert.
>> Yeah, that's probably that's probably. that's probably your five. >> Okay. So, I only say that because Chuck. Begano, defensive coach, former head. coach in the NFL. He says, "Everybody. talks about losing your offensive. coordinator. Losing your offense. coordinator. You lose your defense. coordinator, you could be [ __ ] out of. luck as well if you get a guy. These. guys are at a premium." He said he. thinks that hiring a head coach at the. defensive side. Although we've always. said if you hire an offensive uh head. coach, at least you have uh stability on. the offensive side for your quarterback. Yeah. Even if you have because if you. have a defensive head coach, the offense. is going to have to turn over if you.
have massive success. We just saw it. literally with the Seahawks. Kubak gets. a head coaching job for the Las Vegas. Raiders. Now they got Brian Flurry in. there doing offense. So Sam Darnold's. got to relearn relearn. Philadelphia. Eagles, I mean, even though Sirion is an. offensive guy, they've had to turn over. the offense a bunch of times. So we. always assume you get a good play caller. on the offensive side, you make him the. head coach. Chuck Bagano is like, "Hey, defense is harder to call than offense. right now. At least they know where. they're going." Classic defensive uh. quotes and comments, but we are in a. transition era of ball. Is the defensive.
head coach because of McDonald having. success the fad right now or is that. maybe the right decision long term. because you have a guy that can call. defense? I still think we're in such a. quarterback driven league that the the. turnover for coordinators like Josh. Allen's been in an absolute nightmare. situation whenever McDermott was there. because you got a new offensive. coordinator every single year because. your success means they're going to get. an opportunity to have a job, right? I. think you look at San Fran and obviously. Solid was fantastic, but he leaves and. they've probably gotten better on. defense. Raheem Morris walks in and he's. just as good now. Not everybody's being.
is able to go get Raheem Morris, right? We get that. But I think that's the. biggest thing because we're in such a. quarterback driven league. like you want. familiarity, you want consistency, you. want continuity among your offense. >> Even Ganon, you know, phenomenal going. back at Hafley obviously did a great job. with the defense, but Ganon getting. there, the things that he's able to do. Obviously, dropped Michael Parson in. there and who knows what he's going to. have up his sleeve when he gets out. there healthy. And then paired with that. offense that can put up points, especially if they start catching the. ball consistently, it's going to be a. scary combination. >> It is going to be a scary combination. I. got good news.
>> Uhoh, here we go. >> Universe. >> Yes. This is a different universe bolt. today. >> Okay. >> You were spinning it today, too. >> Thank you. I got a little bit more of uh. I don't know how it's going to help me. with hoops. >> I know what this is, >> but I've been working on uh I've been. working on I've been trying to get some. real I've been trying to throw a real. nice ball lately. >> What is that? What do you mean? Like. your little flick the wrist? >> Yeah. You watch. >> You're not No javelin. Not a javelin. throw as Danos. >> Bingo. Yeah. Well, I'm trying to do. both. I'm trying to get the distance and. range here. And then at the end, I'm.
trying to tighten up the accuracy and. the spiral here with a little bit of. this. It's a new throwing motion. I'm. going through a little bit of a change. myself here as I try to do that. I don't. think it helps me with the hoop, >> you know. >> Yeah, cuz I'm more of a Justin Herbert. guy. Sure. You know, cuz so I I can get. in. I don't need the layered offense. >> Herbert guy. >> Yeah. Uh. >> oh. I know. I'm not an NFL quarterback, though. But if we were to play catch, everybody be like, "Holy [ __ ] what a. throw." You know, cuz that ball's. hovering as it's a dart. So, I'm not an. NFL quarterback. I am going to be. throwing in some parking lots, I assume,
at some point. And I think people will. say, "Oh, that ball's [ __ ] on a line. here." Now, person catching it gonna. have to, you know, >> strong hand. >> That thing's coming. >> Freak me out. I was making some crazy. catches today. >> Yeah, you had one high one. I remember. everything else was right at your. [ __ ] chest. Uh, let's make sure we. remember that. Okay. You were making. some crazy catch. One high one. And he. was dramatic. >> It was an incredible grab. >> The vertical was insane, >> especially with the new board in the. back here. >> Trying to protect the the Thunderdome. >> Yeah, I appreciate you making that. catch. Okay. Universe ball here and this. is a football. This isn't about football.
now. >> Okay. >> This is about the NBA. >> Oh, >> need it. >> This goes in. No more injuries. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Okay. >> Got it. >> Cancel the season. >> Shoot. >> Joining us now to tell me whether or not. that Universe Bowl means anything, senior NBA insider for ESPN, Sean. Shalia. Uh I know you missed the shot. Uh this.
has been a vicious vicious bug of. injuries in the NBA the last. >> Please hold. >> Yeah, you're probably right. >> It's a good move. >> Need to get a bag instead. >> Good move. I hope you understand it now. like Sean does. >> Oh, that's a big three ball. >> A big three ball. >> We need We need an NBA one. >> Yeah. Need an official league ball. >> Hopefully no injuries in the big three. either, though. Yeah, good point. >> Those guys never get hurt. >> Yeah, we can't afford.
>> the court. What are we doing here? Oh, okay. >> Seams, if this goes in, no more injuries the. rest of the NBA. That's what Universe. would be telling us. >> Fingers crossed on this. >> I want to let you know it has not been. good in the NFL. These Universe Bowls, this is different. Well, >> oh, all right, man. Oh my gosh. LeBron's. out. >> No, he's not. LeBron's playing tonight. LeBron's playing tonight as the Sixers. come to.
>> Indiana. >> So, let's let's get. >> I do you know we're on the topic of. injuries and I know there's a really big. game in in Indianapolis today. Yeah. Sixers at Pacers. These are two of the. elite teams in the Eastern Conference. Uh but I do have some news to share. I. think this is the appropriate place to. share it. Good or bad or indifferent. But sources. source. >> says. >> tell me that Tyrese Hallebertton has a. strained left hamstring. He's going to.
miss some time. The Pacers, doctors, Hallebertton, they're all trying to. figure out exactly how long that's going. to be. So, he's expected to be out. tonight against the Sixers. Um, of. course, anytime you have a hamstring. injury, especially coming off the. Achilles last year and all the time of. the ramp up that goes into it, this is. typically measured in a week, weeks, like that's you, you know, you can put a. parenthesis after the, you know, after. the week to include an S. Um, and. they're going to figure out exactly how.
long that's going to be. He's obviously. had a long successful recovery with that. Achilles. But you think about even just. the Pacers alone right now. Tares. Hallebertton's out. I Dubach is out. You. have Andrew Nemhard listed questionable. ball in the injury report. And then you. have a slew of guys. Ben Shepard out for. the season potentially. TJ McConnell, he's out right now with a his own. hamstring injury. >> Oh no. >> And then Aaron Smith and Obie Toppin, they're on the injury report as well, but they're listed. So the.
>> Do we have enough guys to play tonight? Now on that note, um. >> god speed to all of them. week of Tyrese. being out or others being out. Not. really like we're seeing it across in. Tyrese. I'm so sorry that this has. happened after your long recovery. I. assume it was inevitable with the way. the Carile offense and the Carile. basketball style is with a lot of. running coming off of a a long recovery. I assume that's what's happening with a. lot of these guys that have some soft. tissue stuff in the legs getting back. into season shape with the way they're.
going to want to play and how they're. going to play, especially when Tyrese. was guiding it because that is a. fastmoving operation. God speed to them. Tyrese, we love you, brother. Um, but it. feels like it's not just an Indiana. Pacers situation that's going on. I saw. an NBA Central tweet. I think that was. all of your tweets talking about all the. injuries, right? Is this abnormal? This. feels very abnormal right now. And why. do we think it's potentially happening, Shs? I. >> I'm not sure if there's a historic stat. on this, but you think about the allstar. players that are now sidelined for. multiple weeks. Paulo Banker started.
this over the weekend with a high ankle. sprain. Deadmond Bane fell into his leg, but Paulo Banker, Kawhi Leonard, Jiren. Jackson Jr., Jaylen Duran, JDub aka. Jaylen Williams, all out for multiple. weeks. Uh potentially even longer than. that in the case of JDub, he's going to. be out potentially the entire season uh. with his dislocated ankle as well as a. fractured fibula. And then the the one. that really rocked the league to some. extent last night, Anthony Edwards. He's. going to have arthroscopic knee.
procedure on Thursday and then they're. going to get a better sense on the. timeline, but he's going to miss about. two months with that injury. So, knock. him out of the Christmas Day game. potentially that they have on December. 25th. The Timberwolves do at home. against the Thunder. So, he's out the. next two weeks. And you think about it, he actually just put up 47 points on. Monday night and he's been balling. He. had 45 last week. Um, you know, he's. been dealing with knee issues in that. right knee since last year, swelling, things of that sort. They've had to get.
multiple images. Oh, like every few. weeks, he'll get more imaging to make. sure everything is on point. Well, he's. been laboring through it the last week. or so, ever since the season started. You could see in some of these games, he's grabbing down, clutching that knee. They got a new series of tests this week. that showed further damage that had to. get cleaned up. and his hope now is that. the second half of the year he'll be. ready. Like that's where I'm as I'm. talking to players and coaches and GMs. and executives and you know people. around the league. It's become a war of.
attrition. It's getting right so you can. be right for the second half of the. season because right now you're seeing a. lot of these guys uh go down. Um and and. now you have a guy named Anthony Edwards. who's going to be ineligible for all NBA. team for MVP. That's going to cost him. $115 million extra in salary based on. the super max extension he's eligible. for this offseason. I believe it's four. years, 304. million if he made either an AllNBA team.
or MVP. But now he's going to be. ineligible. He's going to miss too many. games. And so he's going to be eligible. for three or $189 million extension. Now. he could wait and push that off till. next summer or this summer of 2028. But. there's a lot of ramifications across. all this, but just a ton ton of injuries. in the early going right now. >> 189 to 304 is a vast difference. 389 is. certainly a good contract by a lot of. things, but 304 million is a lot more. money. There was an appeal process. though, right, for guys that had actual.
legitimate injuries or maybe like four. or five games out of qualifying and then. they were able to overturn it because it. was an actual justifiable injury as. opposed to maybe just body management or. load management that was happening in. the past. It did feel like the NBA. initiated the 65game rule because they. wanted their stars to play whenever. people were buying tickets as opposed to. a load management trying to get ready. for the playoffs. But I think over the. last year or so there was a couple guys. that either couldn't qualify because. they had actual injuries and they were. at like 62 or 61 games or something like.
that and then they were able to overturn. it and say you actually do qualify. because there is 115 million at play. So, I'm not saying missing two months, if that's how long Anthony Edward. Edwards is out, that he'll be able to. qualify just by onc court play for MVP. and everything else, but it does feel. like what the NBA tried to do end up not. being exactly perfect and then they. would listen a little bit. I wonder what. this year with all the stars, are they. even going to have enough guys to. qualify for all NBA with how many AllNBA. guys are already missing games this. early in the season? That's scary. Let's. go to some positive news, shall we? AJ.
has a question for you. Shams. >> Shams. Yeah. What are you expecting this. year from Kyrie and Cooper Flag in. Dallas? I know they're a kind of a. unique combination. Kyrie is back. He's. healthy. What's the outlook for for. Dallas this year? >> Cooper flag, I believe, also. >> Well, I got to say we you said positive. news, AJ. Uh the other AJ, AJ Debbasa is. actually making his season debut. tonight. Number one overall pick. So, I. got to slide. at Cleveland. So, AJ, we love you. But. the other AJ is making his rookie debut, number one overall pick. As far as.
Dallas and and Kyrie goes, I mean, he's. looking like himself. You think about. from the shooting perspective, the way. his mobility is, his flow. Um, he he. looks like he he's in peak form. And you. you you have him paired alongside Cooper. Flag. I mean, Cooper Flag the other. night, what do you have like 271 64 and. three? He does everything. He's built. like a specimen. And so that's what the. Mavericks and Messiah Yuri, their new. president, that's what they wanted to. see, right? How does this you know the. Kyrie Irving on one hand he's what 34.
years old Cooper Flag on the other hand. I mean is even legally able to drink. what is he 20 years old 21 years old. like it's it's a juaposition of age and. direction but you know on the court. they're special and that's what the. Mavericks have wanted to see here in the. early going of this season and listen. I'll be honest you know as this the year. goes on I we talk about everything on. the court but then there's the business. of basketball and there's a slew of. teams now that are monitoring ing Kyrie. Irving, right? He's been potentially the.
last year of his deal. He's got a player. option next year. And so, if you're a. contending team, and if the Mavericks. are not really contending come trade. deadline, do they look to trade him u. potentially to a contender for draft. picks? That is what's also at the. forefront of of other teams minds. But. in the meantime, the Mavericks are. trying to see what does this pair look. like? But Kyrie Irving looks like he's. back 100%. >> I love that for basketball. If Kyrie is. back cooking, I mean, he has that thing. on string. He's like a yo-yo. That's. right. on a yo-yo and then his jumper so. clean. He pisses off a lot of people, which I love. I love watching him do his.
thing. Why not the Mavs be a contender? Because they were so ass last year and. they had the rookie of the year. >> Uh well, they they have a team that's. that's that's picked a direction. They're going younger and they've made. it very clear. You go trade for Zack. Reach. Um you know, they have a. direction on this team. Messiah Yudiri. said it. We want to build around Cooper. Flag. Well, Cooper Cooper Flag is 21. years old. And so you have a a group of. young players, you've picked your. direction, and then you also have some.
vets, right, like Kyrie Irving, PJ. Washington, Daniel Gaffford. These are. guys that obviously want to be a part of. winning teams and have a pedigree of. winning. So it's just a balance. Like. I'm sure the Mavericks in their offices, what they're trying to figure out is, can we string the middle on this? Can we. be competitive and win while also. developing and making Cooper Flag that. leader and that veteran? And this is. going to come down to the end of the. day, a guy like Kyrie Irving. It's the. business of basketball. You're in the. last year of your deal potentially. before a player option. Do you have a. long-term future in Dallas or not? And.
that's what both sides are going to have. to figure out here over the next, you. know, five, six months. But, uh, going. back to Kyrie Irving, we talked a lot. about Kyrie Irving in 2020. >> Yes, we did. And I think he's probably. doing something similar as Aaron Rogers. was doing whenever we went and visited. the Pittsburgh Steelers training camp. I. mean, that microphone was live and. >> Oh, yeah. direct they would say. Uh good. luck to the Dallas Mavericks. I like. Cooper Flag a lot. I got a chance to. meet him a couple different times. Cool. dude. He's phenomenal. He re he's a year.
younger right now. Reclassified a year. younger than he goes to then he's he is. so young even uh he'll be young 10 years. from now in the NBA. Go ahead Debb. >> Yeah. You know I'm going ask you about. the Miami Heat. And speaking of Kyrie, I'm just thinking you talking about. Trey. Is that a potential destination? I. know we had a rocky start. We we beefed. up, you know, with the Stars, got Greek. Freak, got Bam. But, uh, potentially. Kyrie make a move down there. >> I'm sure knowing the heat that they're. going to be monitoring Kyrie Irving, but. there's going to be several teaming. Kyrie Irving. The question is, if you're.
Miami, what can you give for Kyrie. Irving? You already traded away three. first round picks and a swap and other. assets to go get uh, Giannis and Dakoupo. to bring to this team. So, what can you. trade? Right now, I believe they have. one first round pick elig eligible to be. traded. Is that enough to get Kyrie. Irving? My sense is probably not. I. think the price would be higher than. that. And so if that's the case, what. does it look like for Miami? When I look. at Miami debut, I think of a team that's. really trying to figure out how they can.
play offensively and defensively because. DaVon Mitchell, their point guard, and. that's their point guard. You know what. he said after the game uh the other. night? He said Giannis and Bam take up. the same spaces. Bam has to move with. more intention. They have to figure out. the spacing. And what I think about when. I hear that is they probably have to. have some offensive changes. And when I. talk to scouts and people around the. league, probably integrate more pick and. rolls. This is not a pick and roll heavy. team. The offense that they run doesn't. have a ton of screening. So adding that.
potentially and on the other side is. defense. You have a team that's a little. bit older. And so how do you get guys to. defend at a high level? That's also I. thought this Heat team if anything was. going to be able to hang its hat on. defense and so far they've not been able. to do that. >> Wow. I hate that for you guys down there. in Miami. >> We'll figure it out. I'm sure they'll. figure it out. Pat. >> Riley four games. >> Pat Riley will get the chocolate chip. cookies out of the locker room and they. will start turning around. They got. enough talent down there to do that. Trading for Kyrie down there would be. sweet. I would enjoy that. Another team.
that uh I think as of very late uh is. used to winning a lot and haven't done. that at all. Ty has a question for you. Sean. >> Yeah, Sean. What about the Knicks? Is. there any cause for concern there or is. this just kind of a little bit of a. championship hangover? I saw Jimbo. Dolan's not exactly happy with a couple. of guys. Yeah. Um and you know, it just. it just seems a little flat. You know, who knew maybe Mitchell Robinson, maybe. they're missing him a little bit. Is. there cause for concern with the Knicks. or like you said, is it hey, you know, we're about three, four games into the.
season. It's really not that big of a. deal. >> Well, Jaylen Brunson, the players have. admitted that like there is some. championship hangover. They've admitted, it's not me talking, that they're kind. of feeling the the champagne still in. their veins, right? And so, how do you. figure out, you know, getting that edge. back, getting the motivation back, and I. think that's going to be important for. this team? They won last night, obviously, against Detroit. They're. playing in Chicago tonight. So, now it's. the start of trying to string these. games together. But listen, they started. the season with a disconnect from, you.
know, James Dolan ownership for an. office and the players because Carl. Anthony Towns and Josh Hart wanted. contract extensions. They offered Carl. Towns four years, $200 million. extension. Well, that's $76 million less. than his max. He will sign for less than. his max contract. He'll take a sizable. discount. 70 plus million less. That's. something that he is not willing to do. right now. And so, the fact that those. talks didn't go anywhere and then the. Knicks come out with a statement and. say, "Hey, we're not having any. extension talks with you guys. We're.
going to table this till the end of the. season or near, you know, later in the. season." Well, that is a sign to the. players. Like, as much as you guys want. to extend, we're not going to talk. extension. But at the end of the day, the Knicks know this and the players. know this. The focus being on the court, this team still has a chance to win a. championship this year, right? And so, you try to put the focus on the court. and that's what they're obviously going. to try to do while you have the. distraction of a potential White House. visit in December, while you have the. distraction of the contract extension. talks. This is not a seamless carefree.
like there's no distraction type of year. like it was at times last year. >> Champagne in the veins. Tough thing to. figure out whenever you reach the. mountaintop and then they put statues of. you on top of Madison Square Garden in. New York City. >> You know what? I have faith that Jaylen. Brunson's a good enough leader of men. He's a good enough player. I think he's. going to get the boys rallied and who. knows what the future looks like, but. this year they're going to play good. hoops. Ain't that right, Bruce? that's. how you're feeling watching early in the. season. >> Yes, I completely agree. Um last night.
against the Pistons getting that first. win. It did feel like that fire was. returning to their gut. Uh Brunson was. taking charge. Cat was getting into it. with Paul Reed. Uh Josh Hart had a very. funny moment where he like pretended to. put up uh fist to cuffs with Jared Jack. Um but yeah, I think that they're going. to be a-ok. Okay. And one thing I. noticed, Brunson forever through our our. quest for a championship, bringing up. the ball, always getting bumped and, you. know, flailing, trying to get the call. but never getting it. He's starting to.
get those. He's starting to reach that. air of respect. Um, and, you know, kind. of that pinnacle where I I think it's. going to be really, really, really. difficult to defend Brunson down the. stretch of the season. >> Championship whistle over there in New. York. D, we're. >> excited about bumps now. Come on. Well, he likes that they're getting extra. shots at the line late in these games. I. think. >> if you give Brunson those calls, he is. absolutely unstoppable. >> Yeah, cuz he's not going to miss from. the free throw line. >> Whenever you get him on there, it's a. guarantee. It's a guarantee. And I don't.
think I've ever seen him actually miss. in like massive moments. He's an. absolute stallion. All right, Shams, as. are you. We appreciate you. We'll. continue to follow along because that. ball doesn't fall there with everything. happening. Hopefully. You know what? >> Come on, Pat. Come on, Pat. Now we're. going to it's like ground up. We're. going to get injuries now. >> Well, I think. >> we get more. >> Yeah, >> we got to blame you. >> Keep your phone charged. >> I think we need more things to blame you. for. Well, I think we. >> Yeah, I agree. Thank you, Sean. You're.
the man, Sean. Thank you, Sean. >> Yeah, Shams. That's what we need. >> I'll tell you what, sports are always. going to provide. That's a lot of. injuries to the NBA. >> I mean, the Pacers finally on prime. time. Silver's never going to put them. back on. They got nobody playing. That's. it for the Pacers on prime time. Good. run. Rest in peace or piss. >> No, we're not. What? Sucks, man. There's no peace. They're never going to.
be on prime time again. >> We scrolled through the uh networks. >> by Easter. They had one on NBC Sports. like close to Easter, I believe. >> April. April. Early April before Easter. Okay. Geez Louise. But tonight, Sixers. currently favored by five and a half, I. believe, as the Indiana Pacers roster. has been decimated with injuries, including. >> That's it. >> Was that? >> Yeah. >> Only six. >> Was that Was that Was that 15 minutes. ago? >> It was while we were talking to Shams. I. wonder how much movement there has been. after he rattled off everybody that we.
have heard of on the team potentially. being on the injury report or out this. evening. >> It's now at seven and a half. Has moved. two points here in the last 10 minutes. Uh I think a lot of people should. potentially get excited about that. Connor just celebrated as he dropped in. there. Nothing's a guarantee. Okay, be. responsible in there, but Sixers do take. on a very beat up Pacers tonight. Also. this evening, we potentially have a. World Series clinching game down in. Tampa Bay. Last night, bottom of the. 12th, Tampa Bay Rays, pull some heroics, get their first win of the series. It.
was a phenomenal night of baseball. Now. we got the Sai Young award-winning. record-breaking. throw fastball guy. leading the way for a potential World. Series dub for the Milwaukee Brewers. To. break it all down for us, ladies and. gentlemen, a man who is a 12-year MLB. vet, threetime all-star, Red's Hall of. Famer, former hitting coach for the. Yankees, still the hitting coach for. Team USA World Baseball Classic. Ladies. and gentlemen, >> is he. >> the mayor? Yzer Sean Casey.
Mayor, >> what's up fellas? What's up? What's up, Pat? >> Hey, how you doing, Mayor? Thank you so. much for joining us. What an electric. time for baseball. Last night in the. bottom of the 12th, Tampa Bay extends. the series at home after we thought for. sure Cooper Pratt rookie. It's a. gamewinning bomb to win the World Series. for Milwaukee. Can you tell me about. this series, what you're expecting this. evening? Is this thing over with Miz on. the bump or do we have a lot of question. marks after what happened late last. night? >> No, it's not over. Not Not even close.
And I think that's what the Rays are. last night. They just kind of battle. These are two teams that, you know, throughout the season, you got to get 27. outs on. So, this series is not over. Uh. the way they put a at bats together. The. Rays got to figure out a way though to. get the Miz probably out of there early. But I tell you what, for them to come. back last night in the 12th and pull. that win off, it was incredible. So, now. we got a World Series, I'm I think. everybody's glad it wasn't a sweep. We. go to game five and, you know, we'll see. what happens. >> Okay. So, the rats is what they've been. described as because they make.
everything hard. They're grimy. To get. the Miz out early, that's what we're. talking about, right? Let's get on base. Let's get them a lot of pitches. Let's. have foul balls. Let's go ahead and work. these counts. That's what everybody's. referring to and that's what we will see. from Tampa Bay early against the Miz is. just try to work up the pitch count. >> You know what I you know, I think with a. guy like the Miz with with that fast. ball, you do you do try to ambush early. If you get a heater up early, you want. to try and go. So, I think they'll look. to be aggressive against them. But the. biggest thing with the Rays tonight, like you got to keep Miz in the strike. zone. You got to make sure that you're.
bringing him back to the plate and. you're not chasing anything, especially. up with if he's throwing 103, 104. So I. think the biggest thing for the Rays, be. aggressive early and making sure you're. making the Miz work. >> Ty has a question for you, Mayor. >> Yeah, Mayor, I don't know if it's been. announced yet, but in terms of what the. Rays plan on doing pitching wise. tonight, do you think it's going to be. all hands on deck? uh even if you know. you had a guy maybe like I I know. Martinez came in for a little bit the. other night like are they going to kind. of deploy whatever they can to extend. this you think?
>> Yeah, no doubt Ty. You know I think the. biggest thing is when you look last. night they had to bring in Martinez and. obviously he did his job and kept it. there but then all of a sudden there was. your game five starter. So I think it's. going to be all hands on deck. No doubt. I think Rasmusen's in play. I think you. might even see Peralta maybe for an. inning or two. Uh I I think you could. see Martinez come back. I think you you. you're gonna see Baker for a couple. They're gonna Kevin Cash is going to. throw it all out there tonight. I mean, this is a do or die game for them. If. they lose, they go home. So, I think. you're going to see a full bullpen game.
Whoever's ready to go can give them a. couple innings. Cash is going to call on. them. >> Skipper Murphy said never in a million. years, but we were fantasizing last hour. with Milwaukee Brewers superfan JJ Watt, a Miseroski coming out in the bottom of. the 12th to get three outs to win the. World Series. that would never ever ever. happen in real life baseball. >> No, I I I think we were all thinking. that. I think JJ was thinking it. I. think every baseball fan was thinking. could The Miz come in and close it. But. Murf's right. You bring the Miz in in. game four to close it and or or to keep.
it where it's at and you lose him for. game five. It's just, you know, that. that's not a smart move. So Murf was. thinking about it. Probably it probably. crossed his mind for a second, Pat, and. that he was like, you know what, we got. a game five coming up. We can't, you. know, burn him for game five. >> Do we think he had it? no matter what. type mindset going in there. We're not. putting men in here no matter what. No. What What if that's eighth inning? What. if that's eighth inning and you're up. one or two? Do you bring them in for the. final two innings? >> I don't think so. I don't think so. Their bullpen has been so good. That's. just you you can't you can't manage.
scared. That's changing everything that. they've done. And just again, they're up. three games to none. And now if it's. game seven, you know, or game six and. he's a game seven starter, maybe that's. different. But I I don't Yeah, I don't. think he was pitching last night no. matter what. >> Okay, AJ. So, go ahead, Mayor. Go. Go. ahead. I was just going to say they are. they're so loaded in the back end there. with your rebay, the way Ashby's been. pitching. You still had McIll out there. So, like I just feel like, you know, Miz. wasn't coming in. >> Go ahead, AJ. >> Yeah, Mr. Mayor, do you think uh we see. both these teams and how they play? We've heard a lot about the style of.
play and small ball and all that. Do you. think that we're going to see other. teams try to do this? Obviously, you you. would say, "Yeah, you know, monkey see. monkey do whatever it is." Like, can can. other teams replicate this and do do you. think it'll be successful? AJ, listen, dude. I know you're liking it because a. little old school baseball right now. It's a little get them over, get him in, all that stuff. And I I know there's. been an analytics revolution in the last. 10 years of baseball. What we're. starting to realize, the old school. stuff still works, right? You got you. can get a bunt down, YOU CAN GET A GUY. OVER, you can get him in. And you're. seeing that with both these clubs. I.
mean, that's how they got here. That's. how the Brewers won 103. That's how the. Rays won 198. And they're and they're. taking care of business. So, yeah, I. think there's no doubt about it. You. know, it's a copycat league in all. different sports. And I think they're. going to take a look at these teams and. go, "Okay, maybe we got to re-evaluate. the three true outcomes and just hitting. out of the park and putting it in in. play like we used to back in the day. still works.". >> We might be seeing the last game of this. particular season. Maybe last game for a. long time. We've liked the additions and. the changes that baseball has made. Debut has a question for you, Mayor.
>> Yeah, Mr. Mayor, you talking about the. old school stuff. What about this new. new school stuff? We got a full season. now, full postseason with the ABS. We. even had a starown last night. What's. your thoughts with the ABS right now? >> I think the ABS has brought, you know, just it's brought a different element. I. mean, you've seen games decided, you. know, on ABS challenges this year, a. postseason decided on last call. And. Contrarus right there, William Contrus. in this postseason, if whoever's been. following along, it's been incredible,
man. He's getting two, three, four. pitches a game. It feels like he's. reversing with the ABS system. But I. think it's a different element. It's a. different element for the fans. They get. it done quick. I think it adds like 57. seconds to the game, so it's not a. factor time-wise, but as far as the. fans, you know, getting into it and the. viewer really locking into it, I think. it's been a great element for the game. And I think it's really been a great. addition. >> Yeah, the drama of them showing it just. like the tennis, you know, whenever it's. going there. Stare down right there. Contra talks a lot of [ __ ]. >> Remember we he was down there, him and.
his brother were talking [ __ ] to us at. the World Baseball Club. Yeah. >> I mean, he ponch to you. >> Yeah. Great personality. full ponche. Uh. to me, let's go ahead and rate this. baseball season, Mr. Mayor, because. there's a chance we don't have one next. year and we're staring down maybe the. last game for a long time tonight. >> I think it's been a great season, you. know. I really do. I think when you're. seeing teams like the Brewers and the. Rays in it with the Guardians facing it. and the and the Dodgers in there, too. There's a lot of star power right now. I. think baseball's in a really healthy. place. You know, who knows what's going. to happen this off season, but I think.
the viewership for for the game so far. with it it being the Brewers and Rays, I. think the fans are tuning in. They love. this brand of baseball. They love the. the players that are on these teams and. I think it's been a great 2026 baseball. uh season for Major League Baseball. >> You're the best. We appreciate the hell. out of you. That's the mayor, ladies and. gentlemen. Sean Casey. >> Yeah, mayor. >> said good season of baseball. I agree. >> Yeah. >> Pursuit. So much juice. I missed the. mayor. >> He's always got energy. >> He's from Pittsburgh. A lot of people. asked if he was my father for a long.
time. >> Yeah, he's not. He's not. He's from. upper Sinclair, the other side of the. town. But he has great energy. They call. him the mayor because he was a first. baseman and you wouldn't make it to. first base against his team unless you. let him know everything about you. He's. having full conversations. Let's head. OVER TO HAMMER DON TIME. TONE DIGGS. Hammer Don has a bet tonight on. DraftKings Sportsbook, the best sports. book on earth. If you agree to gamble. responsibly or trade responsibly, we'd. love for you to come join us if you're. of age available coast to coast right. now. What's hammered down have tonight.
tone? >> Yeah, we have a uh three sport parlay. tonight starting in the NBA with the. Houston Rockets to win against the. Milwaukee Bucks. The Rockets are. undefeated and the Milwaukee Bucks have. only beat the Pacers. So, you know, that's kind of our angle on that one. The Oilers are hosting the Calgary. Flames. The Flames stink on the road. The Avalanche hosting the Devils who are. redhot, but they're on a backtoback. They beat the Stars last night. That's. what we'll see there. And then Gumpy, of. course, had to throw in the inner Miami. to beat FC Cincinnati tonight on DraftK. >> Okay, thank you, Tone. We'll obviously. be team riding that. It is not a.
guarantee that it wins, but it will be. fun on all the different sports that are. happening on this glorious sports day. Big day with big shriggs making out all. the big plays next. Goodbye. >> I think I got it. >> Oh, yeah. >> He did, >> man. Plus 403 on that bet. Yeah. >> Yeah. Nothing's a guarantee. >> Is Messi playing? >> Yeah. >> Yes, sir. >> I saw a What was that highlight? I saw. of him. I I had never seen this. highlight before. >> in Atlanta. >> I thought it was fake. I thought it was. fake. I saw this highlight. My. >> in the MLS. >> Yeah. My Instagram. >> The pass. The pass and then get back.
>> No. Okay. So, you've seen a few as well. >> Oh, yeah. That was unbelievable. >> No. So, I've seen that one. My. >> It's interesting. The algo just pop up. something from like September all of a. sudden. >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. It's doing that. >> that I hadn't seen. So, I'm scrolling. >> Hate. >> Messi's got September 7th, I think, if. we can find the clip. He is staring down. two guys in the box. Okay, this is in. the penalty. This is a red zone for. soccer and he just cooks the first first. guy spins. Okay, in the box and he turns. back around. Second guy gets gets him to.
fall around down twice as well and then. he just absolutely blisters this left. one, bends it around the goalie to the. uh far side panel and then just kind of. jogs his side. It's like holy [ __ ] This. guy's playing a different sport than. everybody. >> Yes. >> Still at this age. >> Unbelievable. >> How old is he dump? He's he's 39. >> 39. Yep. It's outrageous what he is still doing. at 39. I I can't believe it. Is he. playing for Team USA? Is he playing for. Team USA next World Cup? >> Retired from All Inter. Uh. >> this this is not it. This is not it. Go.
to Instagram. Uh September 7th. Who. would it be? Gumps. I would have posted. that. Inter Miami. >> searching. >> Did you see the other soccer upset. yesterday? Like. >> No, we don't need to talk about that. team in like the fifth division of. English football. Football soccer uh. beat Arsenal in the calendar. Sunday. League. >> in the Caribbean. >> Fleetwood Town. >> Who? >> Fleetwood Town. They're in the fourth. tier of English soccer in 18th place. So. could get beat relegated to fifth tier. this season. >> Beat the Premier League champions.
>> They're calling one of the biggest. upsets in sports. >> How do they play the other divisions? >> Is this This is it. Did it go to. penalties? >> The Carabal Cup is all the divisions in. England. >> This is just like whenever Pittsburgh. Riverhounds are playing to Columbus. >> Exactly. Great save. The fourth league. goalie knew it was his biggest moment. yet. >> Lynch. >> And the boys get some big time dubs. Congrats to the Fleetwood boys. >> Tommy Fleetwood Boys. >> Yeah, the Fleetwood Max. Yep. >> The Fleetwood M Magpies. Yeah. >> I'll tell you what, now would be a good.
time for them to sell, you know. >> Great time. >> A lot of these fourth league, fifth. league teams, get investors from other. sides because you're trying to ride the. weight cuz in soccer now might be a good. time for you to sell as well. pick up a. new team over there in soccer. >> But that's like a good stock investment. seemingly thing for these uh sports team. owners. JJ did it with Burnley. >> Private equity. Yeah, private equity is. doing it. >> Ryan and uh the guy from uh. >> Sunny. Always Sunny. >> Always Sunny with. >> Rexom. >> Yeah, there's many there's a lot.
>> Yeah, Tom Brady has done it. There's not. just the celebrities doing this. There's. a lot of like private equity fund teams. that are like if we can get a third. league team to go up even into the. championship or whatever it's called. right below the Premier League. Massive. gains of investment. And if somehow we. can strike some gold here, get a goalie. that's hot, a coach that's hot and we. can get up into the Premier League, the. amount of money that your team is. automatically worth is crazy. I think. sell it. It's uh it's quite a little. business proposition they're doing over. there. I would assume that team today.
has some people saying, "Hey, you guys. looking for any investment just. percentage of sales or anything like. that?" Because if you can go up now, it. sounds like they're going down, which. you might want to just wait until. >> But what happens if you win the Caribel? >> Do you automatically go up? >> Question. >> What happens there, Gumps? Do you get a. chance to kind of slide by or or move up. if you win the Caribel? Because we know. the Caribel people care about. >> Yes. No, you do not. >> Dang. You just bragging the tournament. about them. >> AJ told me. >> being the best team in England, winning. a tournament. >> Yeah. They get to play Man City now, unfortunately. I believe. >> Unfortunately, they just beat the.
champs. What are you going to bring. about? >> Yeah. Um. >> at home. >> Yeah. I don't know if it's at Fleetwood. Town, though. It's It's It's a tough. pitch to play at. >> Hold on. Manchester City, they're still. doing it. >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah, they're still alive. Play today. Still uh no word on what's happening. with all their cheating. >> They don't care at all. >> The Fleetwood Max going crazy. >> That is a tough barn. Is this Hawhe. glory? FLEETWOOD Mac beats Arsenal. >> There was a great interview with that.
kid after he's in he was from Ireland. and they asked him he was on Sky Sports. I had no idea. He goes, I just [ __ ]. put it top shelf and started [ __ ]. running. It was awesome. It was awesome. >> Soccer's a crazy sport. I guess. >> this be like Sorry. Would this be like a. Appalachian State beating the Miami. Dolphins? Like what? Could you compare. it to something? >> That's bigger than that almost. I think. it's Riverhounds beating Inter Miami. >> or No. >> Well, can you do like a football? Could. you do a football so I can understand it. a little bit more? >> So maybe it's like. >> I would say a CFL team beating an NFL.
team. >> Okay. >> That's how big it is. Leg legitimately. fourth tier of English football is. >> that's far down there, dude. And they're. getting relegated. Like they're almost. in last place in fourth tier. >> You might be disrespecting the CFL a. little bit. >> This might be the Fischers freight. >> beating the Chicago Bears outside. >> Not in arena, sir. Yeah, >> actually no in the arena the Bears will. have to go to their tough barn. >> Arsenal Arsenal also just won the. league. So this is like beating the. Super Bowl champions.
>> Okay, so Seattle Seahawks taking on the. Fischer Freight inside Fisher Freight's. Arena Football League. >> Got it, man. I would love to see Eman. War playing. >> I was going to say, can we set that up. somehow? >> Yeah. >> Get bones and pads. >> Think about what they would do with. those boards. Oh, >> kill somebody. He'd never be able to do. it. Well, that's. >> Carabell Cup. We need the Caribel Cup to. come together and put together all of. American food. How do you feel about the. uh bet that you guys have tonight on. DraftKings? >> I absolutely love it.
>> Is there a bet you don't love that you. send out there? >> Uh, usually if I'm putting something. like this out there, putting something. like this together, I like it. I love. it. If it's going live, I love it. >> Yeah. And there's a couple bets that. Gumpy will immediately know it's trash. whenever it happens, but then somehow. he'll steal one or two of the legs and. he's like, "Oh, we're still alive here.". And then you look at it, it's like, how. is this what you decided to piece. together. >> as a parlay? >> Yeah. The one I hit on Sunday, there was. no reason. I It was Marvin Harrison. Gaseki and Darren Waller touchdown. >> parlay. Yeah.
>> Bet 10 to win 10 million. >> 25 for 1800s. >> It was huge. He showed it to me. He was. like, "All we need is one now. All we. need is one." And I look at it and I see. the names and I'm like, "So, what goes. on in that little brain?" Like, like, how do you go Darren Waller? I like the. way he looked in a video. Marv, yeah, he'll get in the paint there. Who was. the last one? You said. >> he was going to gritty on tight end day. >> It was awesome. He has a lot of those. I. mean, there's a lot of them. Watching. ball alongside Gumpy or not knowing some.
sort of sport is on alongside Gumpy is. awesome cuz that fourth league team, I. didn't know about the Fleetwood Max, >> but I probably heard three or four of. the other ones if they were able to be. bet on, >> they just did something that they were. either muppets or the greatest of all. time. And that's coming from a little. Canadian voice tonight. Houston Rockets. to win. >> Who's healthy? Do we know who's healthy. in any of these games? >> Houston Rockets are good to go. Like. like Tony said, the Bucks only won that. one game. They've been struggling at. home. Rockets Van Fleet's been healthy.
His first time he played in 550 days, I. believe, to start the season. Rockets. look like an actual different team this. year to start. >> Are you guys backing these picks. tonight? >> Absolutely. >> I love that that wording. The hammer. down lads are backing these picks. tonight. >> It looks like we are backing this. >> Nice little exclamation point there at. the end. So, you got to kind of get. excitement. The hammer down lads are. backing these picks tonight. >> Woo. >> Are you backing this pick? >> AQ. >> I was going to lunch.
>> I'm trying to I'm trying to figure out. who plays for the Houston. I was going. to say Kevin. Does Kevin Durant still. play for the Rockets? >> Yep. >> And Shenon. >> Perfect. James Harden still there? >> No. >> No, he's not. on three. >> He's a space cadet. >> I just don't I just don't know. I I I. would never bet any one of those teams. up there. >> Me neither. >> So that's incredible of Alberta. >> Spoilers are buzzing, man. >> McDavid has like 32 points in eight. games. >> This is what they do though. >> I mean, it's unbelievable.
>> The genesis of hammer dad came from the. co cave where tone digs became the best. gambler he's ever been because he was. locked in a room. He wasn't allowed to. be around his family. wasn't allowed to be around his family. Was digging through the sports book to. find like his absolute best bets. Gumpy. does that every single day. He has such. obscure things that he thinks the book. doesn't know that he knows. He gets in. there. That's literally the genesis of. hammer down. So whenever you see some of. these picks, it's like yeah, they. [ __ ] they actually are in the book. They're doing they're scouring.
trying to find the that's their entire. gimmick. >> I mean Edmonton seems right. I mean you. got Dry Idol and McDavid, right? There. we go. >> They have three three of the top five. point getters in the NHL right now. >> See, I think that sounds good. >> And they just lost, so they'll probably. win tonight. >> Once again, not a guarantee. >> Not a guarantee, but we like this. All. right, let's take a break on the other. side. We got to get to a lot of things. Situational reports, a good one. >> Historic second half for Joey Burrow. We. also have the top five offensive lines. performing coming out of week seven of. the NFL season. Excited to see if. there's any movement or shaking around.
there. And I assume we're going to see. the Seattle Seahawks offensive line on. there for the rest of the season after. the move that they make. And then we. also have good D that we got to showcase. to figure out who has a championship. defense that might be able to lead them. to a Super Bowl. I think we might know. >> Yeah, certainly. >> But do we know why? Debut will explain. it all. Be a friend, tell a friend. something nice. It might change their. life. Take five.
When I was a kid, I'd get this feeling. I called it white buzz. and everything will go white. It's like I'm not me in that moment.
>> That white buzz would pour in my brain. like a river of [ __ ] fire. I'd get the same feeling when I started. playing football. >> It's loud. Everything goes way.
>> Is that what insane is? >> Hold on tight. Fire at the breeze blows these through. our mind. Fire.
>> Hooray. This is war. This is real war. They can run it. They can spin it. They. can kick it. This Buckeyes team is. playing football at a level nobody else.
in the country is playing right now. That's so stupid. That's crazy. Do that. And also take us off the we do. not deserve to be there. >> They all commit and love what's going on.
in that weight room. They all commit and. love what Jim Harbaugh is preaching and. everybody in the building's happy. Everybody's like excited to be there. pressure the first row. Second row is up. here. >> It is infectious right here what they. got going on. And how many owners are. spending 300 million on a new facility. just for practice facility? >> This is a bunch of birdies. >> Wow. >> Oh [ __ ].
>> But then for them to do it upright for. the last couple it's like look out for. the Chargers, dude. Look out for the. Chargers. Hey, we got a gift for you. Here we go. >> Okay. So, miss your birthday and miss. Christmas. >> Wa! Look at that. >> Your perspective on high five is one of. the greatest things you've ever seen. >> I love the high five. >> Yeah. Give each other a high five.
>> BOOM. >> OH MY GOD. WOW. >> BOOM. [ __ ] SO, >> we wanted to make you basically. something that we could call my dad. made. >> Oh, wow. That feeling. and I think you can get a pretty good. positive. >> Yeah. >> That is incredible.
>> Obviously, national champion Michigan. man. Greatest high five. >> Yeah. Because of what you brought before. the high five win. Oh yeah. >> He tried to give a handshake to that. particular high five trophy. Did break. the hand off. We had to put it back on. >> Yeah. We're going to go a handshake. >> Oh no. Oh no. >> There we go.
>> We have so much respect. >> You guys are roll. This is cool. >> This would be authorized level, wouldn't. it? To be honest, we didn't know we were. going to be able to get 11 people in. here. And then we pulled up 11. That's. why. >> start 11. >> I mean, wow. It looks like a lot of. highlights against one particular team. >> They played more than one game, right? They kept.
>> for one game. >> Imposing our will. >> This sucks. Party in the back. Oh, no. one can beat no one outs the hut. This. might be close. >> I love that Chargers Dean even more. Now, >> if you were to touch this grass, it. would feel as if the history of football. was kind of one with your soul, one with. your balding. And then you look at the. views, the sand, >> Gabriel Gabriel. >> mountains with the cotton candy clouds, the way the sun will rise and then the. sun will set. And as the sun is setting.
tonight, there's going to be a football. game taking place. You're talking about. movie stuff. What do you think it is. about your team in that locker room and. why do you think you guys have been able. to show up every week? >> You know, I think the buyin uh on our. team is unbelievable. We talk about a. player team. I think a lot of people say. that, but so rarely do you actually see. it. >> Two Goliath Big 10 teams. What a magical. matchup here in the Rose Bowl. And. watching Ohio State do what they did to. Tennessee, it felt good for a North. It. did. It felt good for the B. My god, look at those mountains. >> Look at those mountains. San Gabriel. Mountains. There's the field. >> The San Gabriel.
>> San Gabriel. I believe that means thug. Gabriel. >> All parties and all agree that it's in. the best interest of everybody in public. safety uh that we postpone the game uh. for 24 hours. Hawks working for the goal. >> Hello, beautiful people and welcome to.
beautiful Pasadena, California. The. granddaddy of them all, the 111th. Rose Bowl, which will be taking place on. the most beautiful field in the history. of football, the Oregon Ducks, who are. the Big 10 champs, will take on the Ohio. State Buckeyes. The college football playoff is. obviously in the middle of a transition. era, but we go back in time into a movie. like setting to battle in the Big 10 to.
see who gets to move on and who goes. home. Our UFOs just flew over top. of water and in the national anthem. And. on a day in the United States of America. where a heinous act has happened, it's a. nice reminder that we'll get your ass. You might take a shot, but you're never. going to win a 10 for Howard. Same exact. play action. Drops it off to Jeremiah. Smith.
Jeremiah Smith first touches a poster. T shot down middle. touchdown. >> See the split safety is right here. So. Will Howard knows his room, looks ball, steps up in the pocket. Great throw. Takes a shot and what happens? Jeremiah. Smith comes up with the hole. Hand off. to the left. Jordan James. Howard time. Oh no. Jeremiah Smith's.
wide ass open to motion. Ohio State is kicking the living shite. out of the Oregon Ducks. If Jeremiah. Smith is on your team, I think you can. win every game. Tavon Henderson. He's got the 30, the 20, the 10. Touchdown. They can run it. They can spin it. They. can kick it. This Buckeye's team is. playing football at a level nobody else.
in the country is playing right now. And. there's a little snap. Goes left to the. right. Jeremiah. So that's another first down. Thus far, this game has been absolutely. shove. Stop. Oh my god. Wow. Wow. Oh, >> that is so beautiful. You got Matt Hardy.
ON THE LEFT THERE. >> AJ, >> I see it. The 47. Unfortunately, my. youngest son uh puked all over himself. and went to the hospital. So, my whole. family's not here anymore to hear that. >> But I'm getting some updates every once. in a while. He seems to be doing not. much better. >> He puked over the whole section. >> Jeez. >> Instant urgent care. Instant hospital. >> Oh no. >> What type of shite was he eating? Hey, is someone making salmon down here? We. came down here and smelled like fish. >> Look at this. >> For those that have never been here, I. would recommend coming and checking it.
out. Although this particular game was. absolute. shining. >> we are obviously here in beautiful. Austin, Texas. Where are you from, brother? >> I'm from Zansville, Indiana. >> Okay. But do you go to school here in. Texas? >> I I go to school here in UT.
>> Okay. Okay. That sounds good. I'm happy. they're going to like you. Matthew. McConnA is here. Any words for Connor. here that maybe he should think about. before kicking a one. Heat.
Heat. Hey, what do you call this?
>> Oh, no them. Can they Can they hear me, boys? >> No, they can't. They I believe it's. called I believe it's called Donk. >> Can people hear It's called Dong. Can. people hear you, Bruce? >> Yes. >> Yeah. Yeah. had I believe it was on ESPN. 8 ate the O show at one point. >> And what do you what's there what are. they trying to do here? Cuz I threw. these things around a little bit when I. was there on Monday. >> I actually don't know what the rules of. the game are, but I know you want the. donkey to stand up straight. >> I mean, good luck when you can throw and. and blast the dude.
Hey, let's go. >> This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. you. >> McAfee on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers. You pick. >> stutter. Damn it. >> Your friend tell a friend something nice. could change their life.
sports. >> Hello beautiful people and welcome back. to our humble abode. The draftings donk. thunder them hour is what Wednesday. begins right now. >> football. >> and we all thought about saying right. there. Uh joining us live AJ Hawk. Great. work commentating. I know you. >> Yeah, that really kind of threw me threw.
me out there to but I I'm trying to. figure that game out. I did throw a. couple of those things around when I was. there Monday. >> Okay. So, you did have a little bit of a. heads up on what this was. I got in here. and I saw this and I was uh. flabbergasted. I remember the oo showing. it, >> but I don't I don't get to read any of. the rules. I just saw what it was. Thought it was a kids toy. AQ thought. the same thing. 12- year NFL vet Super. Bowl champion AQ Shipley. Uh but. instead, it's a game where you're. throwing these things and you're trying. to land it on the place mat there. I. think closer to the middle is a winner. much like horseshoes. That makes sense.
>> Or something al of that nature. But it. has to land on four legs or on its face. up in a way. Can't be on its side. >> Feels like the man who's most aggressive. about this game and most passionate. about this game comes from the toxic. table. I'm not talking about at Tai. Schmid. I'm talking about Boston Connor. You really love dunk. You played a. little defense there at the end. I think. that was maybe the move of the entire. game. >> I love to dunk. I mean, it's just one of. those things where the game picks you. You don't pick the game. Uh AJ mentioned. on Monday we started tossing the donk. around a little bit and it was just kind. of infectious. It feels as though the.
more you play the more it sucks you in. Uh AQ I feel like already kind of has a. bit of the donk itch. Is that I do. Is. that right? I can't wait. It is very. very fun to play. We're still trying to. learn the rules. Still trying to learn. exactly how to play defense, how to play. offense. But Don's fluid. Don changes. What the game is today could be. different tomorrow. I think what we do. to most games that get sent in here is. we just kind of make up what we think. the rules should be. Now, have we always. been better than the actual game? Absolutely not. There's been times where. we've learned how the actual game is. played and we've gone, "Oh, it makes a.
lot more sense." But we do make up our. own rules. Uh, for instance, AQ will be. tasked at the end of this for the. giveaway. Instead of the throw that has. not been very successful for anybody, he. will be tasked with trying to land one. of these little dons on its feet or on. its head on the mat from about the free. throw line over here to win 30 people. $500. Now, AQ's only got about four or. five practice throws of said dunk, but I. feel like once you dunk, you can't stop. And that's where you're kind of itching. right now. It looks like. >> I can't wait to test uh how many throws.
do I get? >> Two. >> Two throws. So, on that first throw, I'm. going to test the [ __ ] out of the. backwards. It's going to be the. backwards try and land. And then if that. doesn't work, we're gonna just pivot and. go to a whole new method. >> And what is that? Shotp put method. >> Not real sure. And we might just try and. toss it up and hope it lands. >> Oh, the granny stop. the dunk. >> I like that. Jackie Moon with the dunk. Uh nine NFL vet Darius Jay Butler. I saw. you landing a donk over there. >> I'm usually a fan of a good dunk, but uh. that game stinks. >> What? >> I'm kind of with it, D. I did it for 12.
seconds. I'm kind of with it. >> Well, that's cuz you suck donk at dunk. Oh. >> yeah, kind of donka dona donk. They say. you AJ Hawk. That's kind of a a part of. it. ESPN Oo takes over to Thunderdome at. the end of this particular show whenever. AQ Shipley will try to land a donkey on. all four feet or on its head on a mat to. win 30 people $500. Before we get to. that, we have a lot of football to do. We got to learn a lot about a lot of. things. There's a situational report. that happens in military, I believe, in. government. Well, we have one for. football and it's done by our friend.
Darius J. Butler in a suit in the photo. Hell yeah. >> Whoa. >> But on the field in real life, let's go. to situation report with DBud. Who we. talking about? What we talking about? >> Yeah. The sit rep today is about one of. the best quarterbacks in the National. Football League, and that's Joe Burrow, the quarterback of the Cincinnati. Bengals. Had an unbelievable. second half against the uh divisional. rival Baltimore Ravens, who was 16 for. 18, 249 yards, and four touchdowns. This. is the first of the big play, and the. last four plays will be all touchdowns.
The Ravens are going to center pressure. here. for 32 is going to actually be a. free hitter, but he gets a little bumped. off by his own teammate. And I want you. to watch these DBs because this is a. scramble drill. This is something. that'll come up later in good D as well. You have to be plastered to these guys. down the field and quarterbacks and. receivers have to be on the same page. You see the late rotation and this deep. post safety. He's going to go and find. Jamar Chase. Jamar Chase down in the. bottom against Wiggins. They were. attacking Wiggins. Let's get him some. help. Get over the top. They have. another monster out there, T. Higgins, and he's on the same page with number.
nine as well. So he's matched up with. Humphrey up top. Scramble drill. You're. short. Go deep. I'll find you. Burrow. did a great job stepping up in the p. pocket buying some time and making a. great throw down the field to T. Higgins. making big time plays. You talk about a. turnaround. This is one of the biggest. turnarounds that we've seen of an. offense in the team in some time. The. second play will be a touchdown to Mike. Gaseki. Now red two is a defense you see. week in and week out. It's just cover. two down here. You see either red two or. you see allout blitz. Right here is.
cover two. Joe Burl, he sees the. coverage. Alert alert. Let's tighten you. down. We're going to run a flat and then. you're going to run a seven right behind. it. Wingas doesn't get enough depth. Boom. Wide open pitch and catch. Way too. easy for a quarterback like Joe Burrow. And I tal I showed you the safety. earlier getting over the top of Jamar. Chase. This is why down here once again. going to be split safety coverage. The. safety is going to be clouded over Jamar. Chase with Marlon Humphrey. This com uh. this coverage down here at the bottom. away from the bunch up top. But now look.
at the bunch. T. Higgins is also in that. bunch. And once again, he's going to be. one-on-one. He's going to run a post. down the middle of the field. Wide open. Safety's outside leverage. The other. safeties over top bracketing Jamar Chase. because you have to. And now you get the. matchup you want if you're Jer Burough. Once again, pitch and catch. Too easy. for Jer. Just right on the money. Next. play. This is what happens when you. don't double team Jamar Chase. Now. you're going to have seven rushers manto. man all across the board. You got a. one-on-one at the bottom of the screen.
Joe Burrow knows it. Jamar Chase knows. the ball is coming to him whenever he. gets his one-on-one matchup. So, that. pressure better get better get home. If. it doesn't, boom. This is what $40. million year does to you. Once again, pitch and catch. And now, this one was a. little tougher. I think this was great. play design. This was a pressure kind of. like a hide route. And I just want you. to see all this communication that has. to happen with the defenses. You have a. wide receiver and we match up with the. corner. These two tight ends. Watch the. two safeties and all the communication. that they're doing right now. Now, you're home as a defense, so hopefully.
your crowd is loud. It's got to be. verbal and non-verbal. So, I'm talking, but I'm also pointing and they still get. confused. They both run to the same guy. and Drew Sample comes wide open. You. want to see it one more time. Something. funny, too. Joe Burrow looked at his. wristband for like 5 seconds before this. play. I don't know if he forgot to play, but he was looking down there for a. while. Looked up. He's got it. These. guys on the back end do not. One, two, guys. They're going to the flat to the. tight end. And Drew Samples wide open, still in. there blocking. He's going to sneak out. of that back door. I'm sure AJ Hawk has. seen this play a ton. Yeah, great play.
Great play action against pressure. Wide. open walk-in touchdown. Rarely do you. ever see a guy walking into the end zone. like that on the field in the National. Football League. >> This is why tight end is such a, you. know, tough thing to judge how we're. going to play cuz it's very evident. there down his three-point stance. The. play is developed. He's blocking. Let's. go and give up on him. Let's give up on. him. Instead, sneaks out wide ass open. touchdown. Joe Burr just needs to hit. the broad side of a barn. >> Absolutely. And when you get in those. bunches, bunches versus man-to-man. coverage in third and two, you're almost. always going to get some type of.
man-to-man coverage. Even if it's a zone. call, you're going to have to match. those guys. So, things have to happen. fast. So, when you have a play action. fake like this, obviously going to. respect the run, but those safeties, sometimes it's safety and a linebacker, sometimes a corner and a safety, not. only do I have to tell you, and they can. snap the ball anytime, but I have to. show you. A lot of times you'll see guys. pointing like, "Hey, I have this guy. I. have this guy." And a lot of times. you'll see in those bunches or stacks. sometimes two guys end up on one and one. guy ends up wide ass open. Especially. the guy that's down there block. He does. a great job acting right here. Drew.
Sample taking his time and then leaking. out of the back door. >> So this is great play design here. >> Yes. Great execution as well. >> Great execution, great play call, great. play design. This is what we talk about. with offense coordinators being able to. scheme people wide ass. >> Exactly. Exactly. You know what you're. getting. You know you're getting. man-to-man coverage. So let's call a man. beater. All right. And you got to. respect the run obviously as a defense, but let's call a man bitter and let's be. patient. You also have to protect long. enough because the uh if you run it back. a little bit uh Foxy, I think this is. Piran back there in the back field. He. does a great job the running back after. the play fake cutting this blitzer.
because if he doesn't cut that blitzer. and we see it a lot a lot of times. running backs get ran right into the. quarterback. He does that and that buys. Joe Burrow enough time to get to the. wide open uh tight end. >> AJ, he's going to be wide ass open if. they can protect Joe Burrow long enough. seemingly every single time gets lost in. the sauce down there. >> Yeah, I'm sure every time they ran this. in practice like, hey, just hold on. If. we give Joe enough time, this is going. to work cuz look at look up top too. Jamar with a cut split and he runs his. little end to take that make sure that. corner is not sitting outside and fall. back and make a tackle like on the 5.
yardd line. So yeah, beautiful play. design. >> How about how slow Jamar runs that as if. he's like setting something up real big. But you have to respect Jamar Chase cuz. he's Jamar Chase. Absolutely. So he's. going to take that guy out of there. every single time. >> Yeah. Oh yeah. Got This is Zack Taylor. kind of in his bag com man. >> Mhm. Yeah. And especially because of how. bad it looked the first half. I'm not. kidding. Going into halftime I was. thinking like Zack Taylor's about to. lose his job. They're getting dominated. This is ugly. He's yelling at the refs. even though he was definitely right. about it in the first half and then for. them to come out and just be perfect. It. was a masterclass.
>> Historic second half for the Cincinnati. Bengals. I'll talk about a 35point swing. there against the Baltimore Ravens. Are. we worried about the Baltimore Ravens. defense after watching that? Jesse Mter. obviously super genius on the defensive. side. We talked about defensive head. coaches. He's one of the guys that gets. that job over there in Baltimore after. Harball leaves and goes to the Giants. and they're in first place in the NFC. East. Are we worried about the defense. after what we. >> will I'm not worried about the defense. I believe you have talented uh good. coaches and you definitely have talented. good players. Nate Wiggins, their former. first round pick. He has all the.
physical tools. He had a tough outing. He's a good player. He had a tough. outing. Uh Humphrey, he's kind of. getting up there in age, but he can. still play good ball. We know Kyle. Hamilton, we know the player he is. Rocoan, they have too many good players. to I think at some point they'll figure. it out, especially once they get their. quarterback back and I think, you know, Dererick Henry will get going as well. So often it's a complimentary league. Your offense starts playing better, all. of a sudden your defense start playing. better as well. >> And that's Debb situation report. >> Every time I see that photo, I think to. myself, that guy could [ __ ] do a real. situation. >> Oh yeah. Mhm.
>> Yeah. >> I think we trust him to the bottom of. lawyer. >> Lot of different a lot of different like. roles he could play. And look, being. able to still button that button with. how broad the chest is. That's. >> right. >> Yeah, that's says a lot. >> That does say a lot. Not just about the. tailor, but also about the body. underneath. >> Good tailor. >> Yeah, good. Great Taylor, but obviously. >> supposed to be in a suit there, it looks. like. >> Look, unbelievable. Thank you for that. breakdown of Joey Bee's second half with. uh Cincinnati Bengals. I uh I put him up. for a.
win. >> Yeah. >> No, I haven't won a Hemi yet. I don't. know how that works. Where do you guys. vote? Do people vote? I'm not sure. >> I didn't know there was a. >> I thought it was the other guy just. picks. Yeah, I thought Steve just said. they put percentages down there and I. think it's because of vote. I don't know. if San's like I like this one 27%. I. like this one. >> That's what I think they do. >> And then they have to add up a couple. percentages at the end. Steve, that's. actually 92%. Oh, I toss on each of. them. >> The random shots of of the other guy. like postgave like those get better. every week. Him sitting in the Eagle. Stadium like oh I just appreciate this.
place when it's empty. >> Yeah. Steve's living Steve's living area. >> This one, >> he's doing press conferences. He's. shooting jugs machines. Now, I will say. the super catch that was uh first. attempted on uh NFL Live by Kyle Brandt. and a couple uh producers. It worked. out, you know. Steve under the hood. though, I mean, especially with the. Monday Night Football, Monday Night. Countdown lights on him. >> Truly, >> he was really pumping that jug whenever. they set it up. I think they didn't have.
somebody that was necessarily a. professional Jugs user. So, I think they. thought that was the right distance and. it probably was. But when Sanford Steve. gets in there, it's Monday Night. Football and it's the NFC East and it's. the Cowboys and the Eagles. He got a. little juiced up there. He was sending. mortars into these people. I mean, there. was a crowd of humans just having balls. coming, you know, pretty good. So, uh, we were appreciative that we got to do. it. The Philadelphia Eagles in that. state live area said, "No problem. You. can do that." We got a chance to give. away some Super Bowl tickets to. Marquita. Jason Kelsey makes a great. catch for him. What a magical moment.
heading to the Super Bowl. We're also, I. think, going to give some money for uh. travel and hotel and everything like. that. Hoping that future NFL teams will. let us do this on a field. Probably be a. little bit better if we were able to get. a clear field, which there certainly is. during uh that Monday night countdown. time, but it's all it all comes down to. the teams allowing us to do it. >> I mean, those people sign waivers. >> Yeah. Yeah. everybody. It was a whole. waiver game and uh the thought of Jason. Kelsey making the catch and handing it. off to her. >> is maybe the best outcome that we could. have had for the first one. And uh shout.
he's a freak athlete for a big guy. >> He's a good You see he just released his. sumo video. Did you see that? >> Yeah. >> Have you Have you watched the video yet? >> I did. >> You watched the whole video? >> I didn't watch the whole thing. I just. saw some of the clips, >> the preview. I mean, he had that. >> crazy thing. He he stuck his head in. there. >> Oh yeah. like he's I mean he was run. blocking and I don't think like correct. me if I'm wrong but summer wrestlers. usually keep their heads up and they. kind of do this whole thing right. >> and I saw him stick his head in there. I'm like that's a good move that's a. good move put the forehead in there. >> so he talked about coach Stoutland uh.
talking about sumo wrestlers and showing. them sumo wrestlers for some of the. leverage and I guess there was an. undersized fella uh that he mentions he. knows the name he says the name. perfectly so he just now that he's. retired and his body is still able he. wanted to give it a go and try to learn. he had the full the moashi. >> The moashi on. He was in there. I I I. got to see him the day after he did. this. He was like, I I assume I wrestled. all day yesterday. And I'm like, what. what do you mean? He was like, I I did. it. I was like, he said, I put the whole. thing on. I I was Ichi. I think he takes. on Ichi at this point at one point. >> Yeah, he does. >> But he was doing he's doing a lot of.
leverage stuff. I assume it's all for. his YouTube because he went over and did. rugby. Now he's doing sumo. I think he. has uh, >> you know, quite an affinity for the way. humans can utilize leverage and move. other people. And you offensive linemen. love that type of [ __ ] I I how could we. get better? I think is what Jason Kelsey. was trying to figure out for the. American football player. But also, how. do we represent against these guys if we. were to go? I appreciate him doing that. I don't think his body is anywhere near. 100%. Uh but he's giving it his all. I. mean, we're watching his ass limp into. things the next day. What'd you do. yesterday? Uh 450 pound guy. I assume I.
wrestled him. It's like, was it like for. show? No, no, no. >> For fun. >> I was trying to win him. Yeah. He picked. me up at one point just like I was a. child. Kind of threw me around. But I. think he got a couple dubs. I'm going to. watch a whole YouTube video. He's a He. is one of the most entertaining just. naturally humans. Just looking at him, watching him operate, the way he thinks, the way he talks, loves ball, loves. everything about Philadelphia and. football. Like everything about him I uh. I'm a big fan of. But just watching him. kind of do life has been really fun.
because he he's always I think his. intentions are always like the most. positive good time and pure but also at. any moment he could beat the hell out, you know, like and that's a good little. that's a good little one two to have. >> Well, he had he was so unique because. like everybody plays the position of. center. I mean most guys are 300 lb, right? Like he there was there was times. by the end of the season he was 270, 275, 268, whatever it was, right? And so. understanding leverage and being able to. bend and being able to use your legs and. do different things that he was able to. do was was so impressive to me as when I.
watched him as a player. >> Best of all time people talk about it, right? There's a lot of great centers. So having the best or greatest of all. time is going to be very difficult, especially with the eras, but he's in. that conversation, is he not? >> Yeah. And and honestly, it was it was a. great era period. I mean, you had. Pouncy, you had Alex Mack, you had him, right? Like those were like kind of like. the three Eric Wood had a good little. run until he got hurt, right? So, I. mean, there was that was a very good run. from about 2010 to 2020 of really good. centers. >> Yeah. And he was moving. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Different than all those guys, right? All those other guys were kind of movers. and shakers on the inside. He was the.
guy that got around and cleaned people. up on the outside. >> Great athlete. So, he's in the. conversation for greatest center of all. time. And then his brother has enough. records that he could be considered the. greatest tight end of all time. Pretty. good. >> Yeah. Not bad. >> Pretty good football family from. Cleveland over there. There's another. guy that doesn't look exactly like uh. what we thought it would. But your. takeaway from this past weekend is a. phenomenal nostalgia treat. AQ said the. thing that's not getting talked about. enough is scats all folks. Scataboo is. the one, huh? That's what you're saying. in this entirety.
>> I mean, how good is that? You just. nailed that. But yeah, listen, here's. the deal. John Harbaugh, right? He. wanted to set his culture and he made a. point. He made an emphasis to come out. there and basically call all the running. backs out, right? And so then Naji. Harris kind of questions coach. Harbaugh's game plan of who's going to. be the starting running back and they. end up just cutting him. Hey, let's get. we're going to get this guy out of. there. But one of these guys got to step. up. And when you look at this guy what. he's able to do, he stepped up and took. a hold of the job this past week. This. first clip right here, you will see all. these clips. It's the effort. It's the. way that he finishes. We get the motion.
across. You got the fullback Patrick. Ricard has been huge for the running. game. But look at Scataboo as he gets. his ball. Bounce it outside. Ricard gets. the pancake on the edge. always lowering. his shoulder, getting lower than the. other guy finishing. This next one. called a penalty. Certainly should not. have been called a penalty. I hate that. we're calling this a penalty because. when you're a running back, you got to. lower your center of gravity and lower. the boom one-on-one with a safety. Absolutely runs over the safety. They. throw a penalty on this. Absolute. [ __ ] This next one, awesome, right?
You got two guys unblocked at the point. of attack. You're going to get him in. the hole right there. Nope. Get the [ __ ]. off me. Bounce outside. Spin. See you. later. Let's run in. throw his shoulder. Talk your [ __ ] Keep it moving. Then the. next one. Hey, this guy's a bowling. ball, right? He don't have any speed. Let's fake the tush push. We've already. set it up with Winston a couple times. We give him the sweep on the outside. He. has the speed. Unbelievable play call in. a short yardage situation. This guy just. took a hold. 17 carries, 124 yards, and. a tad. >> And scats all folks. >> That's right. >> And scats all folks. John Harbaugh. I.
assume he understands why Scataboo is. Scataboo now at this point. I like that. he challenged him. I like that he said. this is not what we're about. We're not. fumbling the damn football. We're not. doing any of that. We are a different. type of team. Scataboo back motivated. for a team that's in the lead in the NFC. East. AJ, what are you doing to Scataboo. whenever he lowers his head and tries to. run you through? And by the letter of. the law, I do believe that would be. considered targeting, but you very. rarely see it called against the. offense. >> Yeah, you do. You don't see it called. very much against the offense. I I agree. with AQ. I think it's a garbage call. You should not call this, but also I.
don't want to see any calls on like an. interior an inside backer coming in and. trying to make a whole like a play here. You can't call targeting like I feel. like when you're in traffic or anything. like that, but look, I mean, trust me, Houston's got numbers. We see eight in. the box multiple times here with these. guys. It doesn't matter. Like that's the. thing. Scataboo is not just this. straight bruiser, whatever, running to. the back of his lineman. He has. patience. He lets the blocks kind of. lets them develop and then bam, once he. gets his foot in the ground, you see. what happens. Like it's uh you got guys. taking uh taking poor angles left and.
right to make sure they don't get to. they don't they're not the first guy to. the ball. Like when you see a guy like. Scataboo, you don't want to be the first. guy there. >> Yeah, Scataboo has been like this since. high school. There there's a kickoff, I. think, where he uh runs through 10 guys. There's 11 guys on the field. 10 guys he. runs through. Then he went to Arizona. State did the same damn thing. Took them. to the playoffs. Okay. Scataboo goes to. the playoffs with them. And then now. with the New York Giants back from. injury, which we all saw him do back. flips a little bit early in the entire. recovery process. We wondered if he was.
going to be able to be the same guy. after his recovery and rehab. Is he. going to be able to be continue to be an. NFL guy? He has certainly showed that he. can be. And scats all folks, >> he was unbelievable. Scats all, folks. Scats all folks. >> Scats all, folks. >> Yeah. >> Unbelievable. >> Going to help JJ McCarthy tremendously, too, if they can keep running that ball. like that. >> Is there a quarterback controversy. brewing in the New York Giants. organization? >> There's no controversy. >> Not yet. >> What? >> He's the He comes He continues to do. this for the next 10 weeks.
>> Speeches like that postgame. Yeah, >> I was told this whenever a new general. manager came in and I was on my contract. here that there was no loyalty between. us cuz I didn't draft you. >> It's a fair statement. >> Okay, I agree. Now that we know the. business and it does happen that that is. a real thing that takes place. John. Harbaugh comes in. Okay. >> Inherits Jackson Dart who I think we all. believe in. >> JJ McCarthy very tight with the Harbaugh. family. >> Very tight. >> Very very tight with the Harball family. He comes in plays good one game. Okay.
We have no idea. Well, 11 minutes in a. fourth quarter where he almost brought. him back against the Saints. One game. though of starting, he plays great. If. this does continue, it's going to get. very loud over there. And that sucks. because the Giants fans, they knew. Jackson Dart was our guy for the next 10. years. They're very excited. Now all of. a sudden JJ McCarthy comes in. It's. like, whoa, wait, we have another guy. that's our guy. How do Giants fans kind. of feel about it all, Bruce? >> Uh, I mean, in the short term, great. Uh. Joe Shane's gotten a lot of [ __ ] but. picking up JJ McCarthy to basically save.
the season for a fifth rounder uh sure. feels like a stroke of genius. And like. um there are were reports that the front. office was really really high on JJ um. in the draft, but thought that his. personality wouldn't necessarily mesh. well with Dball. Obviously with Harbaugh. now um it's a little bit different. Probably a better fit. Um you know, I. hope he keeps it up for 10 weeks and. wins a couple playoff games and it's. like [ __ ] what do we do? Uh that would. kind of be amazing. But the the. separator to me is the just the. availability. Like Jackson at this point.
has shown like obviously he was a freak. knee injury, but he's just still been. getting hit and hasn't taken that sort. of maturity step to say hey I got to get. rid of the ball or like hey let's just. live to fight another down or punt. Um, and JJ at least, you know, through one. game, uh, showed kind of a different. level, I think, in my mind of of growth. to say, "Hey, I can't get hurt here or. we're fucked." Um, so for that reason, I. I I could see it being like, "Hey, maybe. we should just stick with JJ.". >> And scats all folks.
>> Scats all folks. >> There's a chance. Scats all folks, you. know, quarterback there, he's gonna be. very similar to what he did in Michigan. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> A lot of this. Let's get in the right. point. And then he's going to have to. make a throw at some point. And can he. do it? Tight window throws. >> It appeared as if he could this last. weekend. We didn't think that JJ had. that. Yeah, tight window throws. Big. window. Anybody could do that. >> Mhm. >> Tight window. Got to win playoff games. with those. Can JJ McCarthy do that? We. shall see if they get to that position. They're in the lead in the NFC East. So, you see how [ __ ] loyal you guys, man.
>> That's right. >> That's the stuff. >> The secret sauce there. >> That's it. >> That's a New York Giants. >> starting quarterback. >> Yeah, that's a pivotal role in the NFL. >> Oh, yeah. being the Giants front man. >> Yes. >> And JJ McCarthy might be perfect for it. >> I think so. >> Good luck out there, J. And Scots Hall, folks. >> All right, let's go with top five. offensive lines coming out of week seven. of the NFL season. Every week we go in. the trenches with AQ Shipley, the number. five offensive line. Wow. Pittsburgh.
Steelers. >> from the town with the great football. team. And I go on and block them Steelers. Is. that what you're saying? >> That's the Pittsburgh Pa. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Wow. It's from Pittsburgh. I'm surprised. you know. >> about that. A little like Donnie Iris. Uh shout out. >> Um the boys of summer, right? >> Jeez. >> Don Henley. How son of a badge. >> Just real quick. >> That's Don Henley. >> Excuse me. >> Wow. >> We'll get to the Pittsburgh. I guess.
>> cancel the segment after that. disrespect. >> This man is from the same town as Joe. Nardo. Joe Nardo. greatest Doppler. reader of all time. Rest in peace to. Joe. >> Miss you, Joe. >> Hey AQ, >> that's right. >> His first words about him on this show. is I was never really a Dinardo guy. I. don't know how that's even possible. >> Said he was never right. >> I want I want to go golf with my dad one. time. He told me he wasn't going to. Unbelievable that you won't judge. Dinardo for his entire, you know, >> portfolio. >> of work as opposed to one day you want. to golf with your dad. Okay, that was.
disgusting. >> The way you react. Rest in peace, Joe. >> Love you. Miss you, Joe. Miss you, Joe. >> You're going too soon. >> Agreed. There's a lot of situations. where if Joe was still here, we'd all be. in a much better spot. Jim Canour's. actually said that before. He He passed. away in 2018. >> Yeah. Co never happens if Joe's still. here. >> There's a chance we we don't know what. Joe would have done because Joe said it. would. And then now Donnie Iris, the most prolific musician and artist.
from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passes. away. >> and AQ's first reaction is, "Were you a. Donnie Iris guy?" I was never a Yeah, right. AQ, we were all Donnie Iris's. guy. Okay, WDVE. Yep. >> You're talking about a time where not a. lot of Pittsburgh love was happening na. uh nationally and Donnie Iris cracked. through and remained true to his roots. He'd do a show southside. He'd go down. in Station Square. He'd do a little bar. down there. Anywhere. >> Yeah. >> And this guy has no respect. I hate it.
I want to let you know that. You heard. what Tim McAfey said over here. Tim McI. almost buckled to his knees whenever he. found. >> I heard it's been down in the dumps ever. since he heard about it. >> Yeah. >> Turned off the internet this morning. because of it. >> Can't look anymore. >> For two hours. Can't look anymore. >> Said Donnie Iris called me a jag off one. time. It was the honor of my life. And. what' you say? AQ. YOU ARE. >> I NEED A JUKE BOX HERO. >> THAT'S NOT DONN. >> NO. >> NO. >> Penny on the big box.
>> You said most famous artist out of. Pittsburgh. >> Yeah. He He's above Brett Michael. Brett. Michael. [ __ ] Brett Michaels. >> Well, Brett Michael tribute. >> He said without Donnie, he would have. never been Brett Michaels. >> Yeah. Nobody would have been anything in. Pittsburgh if it wasn't for Donnie. I. mean, this is just how. >> Donnie was also in the band Wild Cherry, which uh wrote and sang play that funky. music, White Boy. >> Mhm. Yeah. Used to say Donnie, they changed. it to White Boy because they looked at. him and said, you know, it actually.
sounds a little better with white. >> That was a Vanilla Ice original. >> Okay, >> excuse me. >> He is said White Boy who played some. funky music, but that comes from, >> you know, Donnie Iris's brain if I had. to guess. Vanilla Ice also credit. credits Donnie Iris for his entire. career. >> which he could. I mean that would be. very um valid if he did actually. So all. these people seemingly have respect for. somebody that was a huge part of our. lives except for you. >> You know it was one of the best. offensive lines in the NFL. >> Who's that Steelers? >> Okay. Rest in peace Donnie.
>> That's right Donnie. Miss you Donnie. >> Let's go to Hammer Don Tone. Any. thoughts on Donnie Iris passing away. since AQ just can't mustered up the. >> it's unbelievable. >> show some respect. >> I mean we grew up with him cigarette. penny on the floory. >> just sing sing Penny on the floor for us. >> Penny on the floor and I'm gone. >> Mhm. Actually, that might be the Clarks. now. >> Clark's also from Pittsburgh, I do. believe. Great band. Great band.
>> Rest in peace, Donnie. We appreciate. everything you've done. Let's get to the. top five performer offensive. >> Let's do it. >> I don't like what you did Tim Mackey. this morning. Tim McAfee for shoot at. Donnie Iris pumping through his ears. >> This is This is no joke. I honestly. whenever you guys said this this. morning, I I didn't have any clue Donnie. Iris. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. >> He made the Here we go Steelers anthem. >> That's Roger Waters.
>> Bingo. >> Roger Wood. >> Definitely not Roger. >> What the hell's going on, Tom? >> Sorry. You know I'm not great with. music. Roger Waters. It does do music. though. >> Smoky. >> Well, I think you got so much waters. flowing from those eyes with Don. >> How about How about How about AJ going? I didn't know him either. You're not. from Pittsburgh, [ __ ] Okay, you. shouldn't. >> Oh, wait. and Mac Miller. >> I know them without we listen to Mac. Miller in LA last. but they all.
>> say without Donnie. >> Kelsey's wife is from Pittsburgh. >> Yeah. >> One, two, three, four. >> Taylor Taylor. Glacius. >> That's Mac. Miller. >> Yeah. >> Unbelievable. Pittsburgh actually kind. of a music hot bed. You know why? >> Genie in a bottle. >> Christine Aguilera Weapon. North Alagany. I do believe. Yeah, >> if we continue to talk about all these. Pittsburgh music heroes, I think if we. were to ask them, rest in peace to Mac, obviously can't ask him. I think they. would point their fingers one particular.
direction. Do you know which way that. would be? >> Donardo, >> Donnie Iris, Kurt Angle, >> don't forget George Washington wrote the. Star Spangled Banner in Pittsburgh at. Fort Alagany. >> Francis Scott Key, you [ __ ]. >> George, come on. tone. >> That one got me. That one got. >> so stupid. Think about how happy he was. when he thought of that. >> Think about it. Rest in peace to all.
George, too. >> Three Rivers is a pivotal spot in the. war. >> Yeah, of course. Of course it was. >> Thank you. Do you even like Brett. Michaels? >> I love it. Poison, come on. >> Sing it. Sing it. >> He's up from Pittsburgh. >> Sing it. >> He is. He's from Butler, Western. Pennsylvania. Every rose has. say say. >> just like. every night has it dawn.
just like. every cowboy. sings a sad sad song. >> And I can't wait to see this whole line. Here we go. >> Every rose. >> has. >> He actually sang that to AJ naked on his. bus. It was wild. There's a picture of. it. >> Oh yeah, I heard about that. >> Naked or Brett? >> Brett was AJ had an Ed Hardy shirt on. >> Oh, >> yeah. They called that. That's all I had.
on. Yeah. >> He had jeans on. >> He had jeans on, but to get on to the. bus had to take the. >> pants off. Shoes, pants off. >> Yeah, shoes and pants, guys. Get them. off. >> Underwear, too. In there. >> Hawkfiles. I mean, it's crazy to think. about. Okay, let's move along as you. somehow from Moon Township have Did you. see what happened to Plum, by the way? >> Did they make the playoffs? >> We beat Penny Hills last week. >> Did they make the playoffs? >> I think we're in.
>> Moon made the playoffs, too. >> I think we're in. >> Three and five made the playoffs. One. win. >> Joke versus Plum. >> Okay. Yeah, Plum had a tough a rough. couple outings. We lost to North Hills, I believe, uh, 45 nothing or something. Like, there you go. Go football. >> It's going to happen. That's Lavar. Arrington school. >> That's right. >> Yeah. I owe him 30 push-ups. How much do. I owe you? 10. >> 10. >> [ __ ] It's a lot of push-ups. >> That is. >> beat Penn Hills Aaron Donald school. though. 287. >> That's right. >> So. >> Anthony Morelli other great. >> Tony Morelli went there. >> Yeah. >> Bill Frillic.
>> Tony Morelli did go to know Tony. Morelli. >> Oh, of course. Kidding me. One. >> Tell me. Tell me about him. >> Believe he's actually. >> I mean he's one of my favorites. One of. the most hardworking nice guys you ever. met. >> Hey. Hey. What college did he go to? Tony Morelli. Yeah. >> The University of Penn State. >> There's a reason I'm asking this. >> Yeah. The best of the best. >> He was AQ's quarterback. Actually. touched AQ's ass. >> He started We Are Penn State, didn't he? >> No, he actually started University of. Penn State. So whenever um you know, it's PSU, everybody knows that. Um Melli. had a lot of offers. Mr. Awesome dude,
incredible arm, >> fantastic talent. We like him uh a lot. I'm a big fan of Melli. I think he lives. out here in Indiana. >> I think he has a gym and some other. stuff. He's a good dude. He was great. around our area uh during our era and. where he was committing to is a big. deal. >> Just dropped a perfect University of. Penn State and it was just. >> Yeah, >> this guy. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE THE. [ __ ] HE'S GOING. HE GOT REAL loud real. quick. But he However many years did he. play with you? >> Four.
>> Every year. >> Uh so no, so three. So he started for. three, but he was with me for four. >> Spin it. >> Could I mean could throw it 100 yards. I. mean, play action pass actually. >> legitimately. >> had the strongest arm I've ever seen. >> No more recruit in the country. >> I get it. >> So, this is a play they had. This is a. play they had. >> Y. >> they had everybody that was fast in uh. the East Hills of Pittsburgh, lined out. all the way outside. They're running. just those screens out there. He was. able to just get snap. That ball was.
over there before people could even get. their eyes. And then they would have a. four on three out there and some. touchdown every it was the fastest out. to the wide receiver I've ever seen. No. steps that thing out and we were just. [ __ ] We couldn't stop it. Tone, I. think you were on the field for a couple. of How come we couldn't stop that? Do we. not know that that was coming or what do. you think really was the game plan. there? >> Uh they had an athlete advantage by. quite a bit. >> Tone was out there. >> His receiver went to Penn State, too. Joer Copic. >> Joe Copic was a great soccer player as.
well. Yeah, >> he was uh he was a stud back in Yeah, they uh. >> they ping us. >> and communicate tone. >> There's I mean. >> numbers got pass it off. Pass it off. >> I was I was the greatest communicator. that ever lived. That didn't matter. >> Just like George Washington, right, Tone? That's what they said. You were. like George Washington in that. secondary. >> That's where I took uh that's where I. got all my lessons from. Yeah, >> George. >> Yeah. >> I was in Abraham Lincoln Financial the. other day. They just got a picture of. Honest Abra up there. Mhm. >> I couldn't tell a lie.
>> Who? Honest Abe. >> Mhm. >> Or. >> I would like to know if that was every. day of his life or just to document his. stuff. At some point, Abe had to do a. little bit of a. >> I'm sure he lied. >> A little bit of a. >> Can't really communicate amongst towns. anymore, right? I mean, those people. back in the day, you go what, a mile. that way, you'll never hear from anybody. this way. >> Never farted in front of his wife and. lied about it. >> Had to have let one out. a Especially. with how tall he is and how terrible. that food was back in the day. >> In her face. No, it could have been me.
>> Jesus Christ. Very tall. What's wrong. with you? >> It's not supposed to be. >> They're calling me a liar. >> Honest. I didn't fart. Okay. >> And you can take that to the bank, which. they didn't really have back then. They. How were the banks back in the day? >> I don't know. I know the dollar bills. were like as big as this. >> Yeah. >> It's tough to. >> Examples or deception or political. maneuvering. Is this for a blank here? >> Yes, it is. >> I don't like the thought of us looking. on the internet for them to tell us what.
I want to say did or didn't do. >> Yeah, we don't need that. >> Yeah, we don't need this. I want to say. did it all good. >> That's right. >> He was He good. I think they have a. younger Abraham Lincoln photo on the. Lincoln Financial set. >> It's not like the older Lincoln. It's. like a a teenage maybe young 20s. >> Handsome ape. >> Hands. Yeah. Young. Ready to go. >> Got the ball cap to the side. Not the. big top hat that everyone knows. >> Exactly. Yeah. It is a He has a baseball. cap. >> Yeah, exactly. >> Yeah, that is uh on a save that we know. Okay, now that you've disrespected. >> Oh, let's go. Let's go.
>> You know was a pitcher. >> Yeah, he could dunk, too. >> He played tackle as well. >> He actually struck out John Wils booth. That's why he blew his brains out. >> He was just Oh, boy. >> Never got over. >> three pitches. >> Yeah, exactly. Really embarrassed him. >> What was it? It was all he threw. >> Two heaters. Then big 126 curve ball. dropped off the table. I guess Wils. Booth. Yeah. >> Fell over his shoulder. EVERYONE'S LIKE. YOU [ __ ] RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE. AND. HE'S LIKE, "OH, >> kill that son of a man.". >> Where's he at? >> Fast for you. >> He's at a theater, huh?
>> Okay. >> Maybe. We don't know. Actually, they. don't have like every moment documented. back then. We don't know if there was a. picked up baseball game to potentially. end the war. And Abraham Lincoln was. like, I'm on. YOU'RE RIGHT. >> I WANT WILKS BOOTH. GET HIM IN THE BOX. >> MAYBE it was just Wils Booth verse Abe. for the entirety of struck him out 27. times. >> Yep. for slavery. >> Yeah. 27 strikeouts by Ape and Wils just. was made fun of. So his wife left him. >> because how embarrassing it was on the.
diamond. >> Somebody should look that up. Is we. don't know if that's real or not. >> Might be another time. A blind. Here. comes a heater. >> Curve. >> The last out. >> Got him because he believed him. Of. course. >> Curve. Got him. >> He was pitching with both hands too, right? First four and a half innings. >> Yeah. He's bouncing back between right. and left. >> Oh wow. >> And Wils Booth wasn't a pinch hitter. He. was like, "I can't buy [ __ ] lefty on. lefty. I can't hit this guy.". >> And Abe took that glove over to the. other side. >> Yep. >> Mhm. >> Pretzel. >> Got him. >> Shout out to Honest A doing it.
>> Shout out. >> But we do think he lied a little bit. about some stuff to make the good stuff. happen. >> which we appreciate him doing. >> Toss some [ __ ]. >> Yeah. >> Here's honest with a baseball actually. Uh we have some. >> Yeah, I think this is from the game. >> before he became president history. revealed. We appreciate that. Okay, we. keep him up there. I think we saw uh uh. Egyptian before he became president. Abraham Lincoln was depicted in a. courier and eaves political cartoon. facing three adversaries with baseball. bats. >> That's pretty much how you described it. Ty. >> to the tea. >> John Wilmouth was that little one in the.
middle there. That's him. You can see. how he'd have little band complex and. get really pissed off about it. Yep. >> I mean that bat's bigger than him. I. don't know how he thought he was ever. going to get a hit, but that's what. these people uh can kind of convince. themselves that they can do. >> Yeah. >> Little John Wils Booth in the middle. there was just [ __ ] Abe Lincoln was. like, "We got the little fat one again.". All right, here we go. I like that. >> It was a good shot though. >> And that's why they call it America's. pastime. >> Exactly. >> World Series tonight, 8:00 PM Eastern on. Fox. We find out who is the champion. >> Mhm. >> of this MLB.
>> We know who's the champion back then. >> That's right. >> Damn right. >> Abraham Lincoln. We would like you all to source your own. information to find out if that's true. or not. >> It's probably a good idea. >> Could be. >> I got the Constitution right here. So, >> that is a good point. Good point. >> I I actually do know what's real and. what's not. >> Can you get to the part where it talks. about the baseball game? >> The entire thing's in here. >> Yeah. Open that up. >> Yeah. Can you. >> Oh, no. No. >> No. No. We We have to check it. We have. to. >> lost it value. >> Yeah. This is the original.
>> Okay. What part does it say where he. struck him out 27 times? >> So, this is the front. It says we the. people and it has all that stuff on. there. >> Where's the baseball part? >> On the back right here. I'm reading it. >> Can you tell me what it says? Lincoln. say. >> one of the greatest right and left hand. throwers of his generation. >> I knew it. >> And then actually below that it just. says 98 mile per hour fast ball. >> Sure. >> Basically. >> And that time. >> 85 mile per hour girth ball. >> Wow. They don't even change up. >> Mhm. Well, change up's coming. 80 mph.
change. >> Whoa. Hit Wilks booth out of his little. baby shoes. >> Yeah. >> 91 m per hour slider. toe. >> Yeah, I think we can take that to the. >> Does that have his dims on there? >> Dims. >> 66. >> Yeah. 66. 68 and a half with cleat. It. says, >> "Oh, I guess he got the big cleats.". >> Yep. It's like the first. >> Mhm. >> He is got which we can see tonight. >> Yeah. >> It's like Randy Johnson. >> Mhm. Are you sure that's the. Constitution? Cuz it looks a lot like. the Declaration of Independence. >> Well, then what's that say right there?
Let's say the Constitution of the United. States. >> I don't know. Does it? It's the. Constitution of the United States. >> of America. >> Okay. That's our country right here. >> So, >> yeah. >> Did they give his stats for his game. against John Wils Booth like. >> that? Uh, actually. they kind of tried to erase those ones. They have his career stats. 220 and 0. So45. RA. >> Wow. >> Gave up a hit to Mel Gibson. >> How How come it's called? >> Yeah.
his great great grandson from the. Patriots. >> What year was that? >> Uh 18. Hold on. >> Great grandson from. >> Yeah. His character in the. >> from the Patriot. >> 18. >> It's another country, dude. They get all. get it. >> 1828. >> You want to step on the diamond with. [ __ ] Abe? >> No, I don't. >> Exactly. Exactly. People got real mad at him with. how good he was at baseball. We might. see that again. Who knows? But tonight, the Miz, the modern Abraham Lincoln on.
the mound. >> can do something that only Sandy Kofax. and Smokeoky Joe Wood have done in the. history of baseball. EJ, history's on. the line tonight, and we will be the. ones who will continue to tell what. history actually could be. Not is, could. have been. >> That's right. >> Now, speaking of history, who makes. history this week? Who are the top five. performing offensive lines in the NFL. coming out of week seven? Let's go in. the trenches with AQ Shipley. Number five, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Home of a lot of amazing things. Rest in. peace to all those who have passed.
>> Yeah, since week three, one of the best. offensive lines in football. Let's start. with the Pittsburgh Steelers. One of my. favorite plays in football. It's the old. school duo play. Let's start with Zack. Frasier from West Virginia. Probably the. best center in the NFL right now. And. then take a look at the left side. They're going to fan out. Mason. McCormack, Troy Falanu. There it is. Look, you get Zack Frasier up on the. backside. Duo play front side. Juiciest. cut in football is what the backside a. gap one-on-one with a safety. There he. is. freezes him, bounce it outside, and. there goes Jaylen Warren. He's been. unbelievable. >> Hey, that backside cut, is that on duo. as well, or is there a certain play?
Because uh Eagles and Cowboys both to. start Monday Night Football were cutting. back on the duo and it was wide ass. open. And I said a couple times to Jason. Kelsey while he was talking about that. on the RV, I juiciest in football. Nobody got a response. No, no response. from anybody. I felt super smart. Is. that what they're talking about? >> Absolutely. anytime you run duo and. anytime you pull the backside guard. So. any type of power play because what. happens is AJ knows this, right? You're. reading the key of that guard and that. guard flows over the top. So now they. fly over the top and as long as you get. a little nosy on the backside, you get.
everybody over the top and then boom, that backside a cut is huge. >> Boom. It's always open deep. >> Safety man. If you pause it soon as he. gets you pause it here like that's. safety 21. You got to put that on your. left shoulder and it's a lot easier. saying it from his desk because then you. got the other big fellas from the. inside. You can't let them get outside. But great read, great explosion. Like I. said, that's very tough when you're. feeling from downhill. >> Congratulations Pittsburgh Steelers. number five performing offensive line. coming out number seven. Who's the. number four offensive line? How about. the Los Angeles Rams? >> We had Matthew Stafford on earlier this. week. We appreciate the hell out of him.
Everybody that has talked about the Rams. even with their incredibly slow starter. said there's enough time for the amount. of talent that they have. Now we're. finding out the offensive line is maybe. a top five O line in the league. Do you. believe in the Los Angeles Rams AQ? >> I do. I like their offensive line. Obviously, they had their left tackle. get suspended a couple weeks ago, right? But then you got each guy, man for man, is not one of the top players in this. position, but together as a group, they. they play very well together. And then. they love going 13 personnel as we see. this, right? We're going to get Davis. Allen. He was the star of the week, right? He scores two touchdowns. We get.
him across. We're going to get him and. Higgby on the double team. And then. we're going to get the double team. between McClendon and Dawson right. there. This is another duo play. Best. play in football in my opinion because. you get double teams everywhere. And. then you get Winningington out there on. the edge. You see that right there? Right there. He gets the butt. You get. the butt off the double team. You find. an open hole. You get one-on-one with. Chin, the safety, and Corm does the. rest. Unbelievable job. They They're a. really good football team. >> Yeah. Cororum and Williams in the back. field. Uh if they're able to remain. healthy, you got a good offensive line. And then the weapons down the field.
Puka Naku is going to eat. Matthew. Stafford's going to be able to find one. of their tight ends. They do go big. personnel a lot. Does that help the. offensive line? >> 13 personnel. big personnel when you add. the extra lineman in or using a fullback. and what they do with the 13 personnel. is one of those tight ends ends up being. the fullback. So it ends up getting to. 12 and then whether it's Davis Allen, whether it's Higgby, whether it's. Parkinson, any one of those tight ends, they can motion into the back field. They fold block a lot. They bring Puku. in as a fullback. They do so many. different things which helps their. offensive line. >> Congratulations Los Angeles Rams number.
four offensive line coming out of week. seven. Now. >> this one's going to get the boys. buzzing. Scats all folks number three performing. offensive line coming out of week seven. New York Giants 42 and one in driver. seat of the NFC East. >> They bring Greg Roman in. They bring in. Patrick Ricard as their fullback. But. let's start on the outside. You got. Malachi Fields, the rookie right there. Guess who he's going to crack block? Will Anderson who's probably been the. best defensive player in football. through the first half of this season, right? He gets a great crack block to. get things started. Look at Andrew. Thomas. He's their all world left tack.
When you get Hudson, who's filled in at. center over the last couple weeks, they. do a great job at the point of attack. And then look at Patrick Ricard getting. the block out in space. But look at. that. Everybody's a hat on a hat front. side and then you get Scataboo in space. That's exactly what you want. >> Scats, all folks, this is the plan. coming into the year is going to be able. to run the ball well. Have they been. able to accomplish that every week or is. it just showcased this week because. Scats goes crazy and Single Terry. finishes it off. >> Yeah, it hasn't been every week. There's. and there's no doubt about that. They've. been struggling to kind of get the run. game going. But this past week, like I. said, Harbaugh calls out Scataboo in the.
running back room. The offensive line is. now starting to play better together. And then Ricard, anytime you got a 300p. pound fullback, use him. He's. unbelievable. He had probably five or. six knockdowns in this game. But he is. the key. Just like you in San Francisco, you get him out in space blocking a DB. That's exactly what you want. >> Sixth offensive lineman who can pick up. anybody that's free. That's great for. the O line. That's great for your run. game. Let's go to the number two. performing offensive line coming out. week seven, the Cleveland Browns. >> Cleveland Browns. >> The Cleveland Browns. And a lot of top. five lists all of a sudden. Leaders of.
the AFC North. Tell us about him. AQ. >> Yeah, I really like this group and the. more and more I watch them, the more I. like them more. You're going to motion. the fullback into the back field here. And here's what I like what they do. They're sprinkling in a little bit of. the old Ravens run scheme. That's where. Mon came from obviously, right? So, you. get a fullback there. Now, we're going. to send the motion across. This is what. I love the most about this. We send the. motion across. All the eyes are over. there. Get the deception over there. Now, we're going to fan the backside. Send the fullback weak. Hold everything. You create that huge hole in the. backside. Nobody knows where to go. And. then front side, Feno, their first round.
pick out of Utah. Great job, Zion. Johnson. They've rebuilt their entire. offensive line. And then Judkins down. the sideline. Huge run. Again, this. group rebuilt their entire offensive. line literally from left tackle across. You get the rookie firstrounder, Beno at. left tackle. Zion Johnson comes over. from the Chargers. They pay him. They. bring Elton Jenkins from Tai Green Bay. Packers. Austin Barber, one of the best. rookies. He's only a third rounder, not. getting talked about enough, but he's. starting at right guard, rookie out of. Florida. And then big Tus Howard comes.
from uh the Houston uh Houston Texans. So really rebuilt their entire group. Really doing some good things with. Monkin as the coordinator. And then. Judkins is healthy and you get that. thing going. >> Judkins untackable in NCAA football. >> Yeah, he was. >> That that's what I remember right out of. his college run. Not that he wasn't. untackable in real life, but in the. video game outrageously tough to stop. Starting to become a video game. The. Cleveland Browns are number one in the. AFC North. >> AJ, I got a question for you. Right. If. we can go back to the very beginning of. this, Foxy, if we can go back to the. beginning once we motion the fullback. into the back field, right, AJ, when you.
get an eye formation and the fullback. goes weak, can you talk about what that. does to the linebackers when you're. running strong? >> Yeah, you call like we call it split. flow. The fullback and tailback go. different directions like that. It kind. of slows you down. Watch 50 here. The. backer, he almost thinks he has pass. coverage. Look, he takes a drop. When. you see that flow, he's a B gap player, so he should be coming down pressing the. line, but something is taking him out. there like they have some other kind of. screen or something set up. But yeah, when you have split flow, it kind of. makes you you have to hold a beat. You. have to stay, you can't go flying over. the top. So, it just puts you a step.
behind. And we've got like Judkins and. it's blocked this. Well, yeah, you're. kind of screwed. >> Hey, strong strong. You changing here as. soon as he motions over there, right? Or. is it too late? >> Uh, was he on the line at first or not? >> Off ball. >> No ball. Wow. >> No, I mean, you just bump bump bump. bump, you know, just bump your gaps. >> Bump your gaps. They did not. Quinn Sean. Judkins has the explosive. Is this. sustainable for the Browns? They're. going to be a good football team. >> Very good football team. I think they're. they're doing everything right. The run. game starting to get going. Their. offensive line's doing a great job. But. Deshawn Watson has been really good and. they're doing a nice job kind of. protecting them. Everything, the ball's.
out quick. They got play actions. They. got easy runs. They're sprinkling in, like I said, a lot of this jet motion. And then you get him going up inside. He's going to keep the ball a couple. times. They're doing so many different. things to make his life and his job. easier. They're making the O line's job. easier. And they're just running simple. but efficient offense. >> All those motions and [ __ ] you got to. remember. So there could have been some. time here earlier where Deshan was. trying to figure out what the [ __ ] this. offense is too as everybody was. Yeah. Because that's a lot of remember that's. like with Tua with that Miami offense. The amount of motions and everything you.
have to do. Everybody says yeah it's. good uh distraction for the defense. It's also a distractor potentially for. the quarterback trying to figure out. what are we on, what is my progression, what do I need to do. That's a lot of. [ __ ] you have to thoroughly understand. Feels like Deshawn has a great handle of. what this Browns offense is too. >> Absolutely. You that's you know that's. just what's expected for a a quarterback. in the National Football League. We all. remember the viral clip of like John. Gutt and I think uh Chris Sims and you. know just trying to get that full play. out and take control of a huddle but. while you're speaking you kind of have. to visualize it as well and know you.
know your shifts and your emotions and. like AJ mentioned you see what just a. little move can do for a defense or. defender and whenever you get to the. point we've all been there you get to a. point where so much going on as a young. player once you get to the point where. you're not really thinking about what. you have to do and now you can see the. opponent and what they're doing that's. when you're really playing football and. letting your uh athleticism take over. I. think that's why we see so many bust. Like a lot of everybody's a great. athlete on this level, but unless you. can figure it out between the ears and. let your instincts take over, you don't. have a chance on Sunday. >> Couple rookies on this offensive line,
they had no idea if they were going to. be good. They just trusted that they. would. And now they're performing for. him. >> Yeah. I I love absolutely love Feno. I. loved him coming out. I actually liked. him better than Lomu. Right. And he ends. up going a lot higher. And there there. was one they were one a one B. Every. time everybody looked at those Utah. tackles, it was like, well, who's going. to be better? Well, obviously this guy. gets drafted higher. He's an absolute. stud. Steps in day one starter, but. nobody thought this Austin Barber, he's. a 6'7 tackle from Florida, and they got. him playing inside, playing right guard, and he bends well. He moves well. He has.
picked it up from day one. He's been. great. >> So, that's a big part of going from. outside to inside, you got to be able to. get lower, right? That's why like uh Mai. Beckton, whenever he moved to guard for. the Philadelphia Eagles, nobody really. expected it to be great. It did work out. great cuz he was too big, right? That's. the thought. His tackles can't be guards. cuz they're too tall. Anytime I see 6'7, 6'8 and it's like, "Oh, we're going to. move him inside." It's like, "Ah, I. don't know if that's going to work. because you're going against all these. 61, 62, no, like you're playing Byron. Murphy in Seattle, that dude's 6'1, low. man wins." Like, it's it's it's as old. as time goes, right? I mean, you know,
low man wins leverage. That's what Jason. Kelce study all these things. If you are. lower, you're going to win. And so, you. get all these guys and they're just. sitting there pressing this 6'8 guy. because he can't get underneath him. Well, this guy's bending. This guy's. bending. He's moving people. >> Also, middle of the pocket, 6'7. Quarterback doesn't necessarily love. that. you know, that is not necessarily. uh uh conducive to good throwing lanes, but Deshan's been able to figure it out. So has he. Shout out to all of them. Congrats to the Bronx team. Now, let's. go to the number one performing. offensive line coming out of week seven. of the NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys.
Javon Williams has a historic night for. himself. They get a huge win. They're. one and a half games out of the NFC East. lead behind the New York Giants. What. did you see that you loved, AQ? >> Well, the one thing I'll say is you. can't control who you play. You just got. to show up and play. saying you got to. beat the [ __ ] out of them when you have. a chance to play against a defense who. isn't playing very good. And that's that. Philadelphia Eagles defense. They're not. playing great, but again, a lot of. people play down to their competition. This group did not. They showed up and. they handled business. I love this. little ace block. Again, we got big. personnel. You see the extra alignment. on the outside, but the right guard.
center ace block right there. Booker, he. has been the Jaylen Carter killer since. college. Comes out of Alabama, former. first round pick. But again, right. there, knocks the nose over, climbs to. the second level. And who's he blocking. at the second level, AJ? That's Zack. Baughn. Unbelievable defensive player. Then you see that flag coming in at the. end. That's not on the offense. That's a. face mask on the defense. But again, huge hole. Terrence Steel climbs up. Williams, unbelievable. This group. showed up on Monday night. >> Williams had a historic night for. himself. Best he's ever had for yards, touchdowns, yak. I think every. everything he could have broke his own.
self-record or have a personal record. for, he did against this Eagles defense. We don't have to dive into why the. Eagles defense is not good. We're all. very confused by this. the ver worst Vic. Fangio defense he's had in over a decade. or something like that. But this Dallas. Cowboys offensive line, they can carry. them throughout the rest of the year. because I think they're going to have. to. A lot of Dak throwing, Dak throwing. We got questions about George Pickkins. blocking. We got questions about can. they get the ball to CD? If he can run, it makes everything else a lot easier. Will they be able to continue to do. this? >> Yes. And they've been good all year. They've invested in their offensive. line. Gayton, the left tackle, former.
first round pick, right? You got. Terrence Steele, he's been there. forever. But all these guys they've. brought in. Tyler Smith, the left guard. absolutely love. He's an absolute. pitbull. Booker, first round pick. BB, he's a draft pick. Right. So, every. single one of these dudes on their. upfront offensive line for the Dallas. Cowboys, they've invested in and they've. always built from within in their. offensive line. >> That's top five. Top five. Top five. performing offensive lines coming out of. week seven of the NFL season in AQ's. eyes in the trenches. AJ, what does this.
tell you about these five teams, pal? I. mean, I especially the Cowboys, I would. feel like the Cowboys fans should have a. lot of hope because they absolutely. dominated up front in that game. And I. know Philly isn't playing well this. year, but they have very, very good. players. So, I think if your team is in. this top five, you absolutely have a. chance to win it all. >> What happened with the the Colts? >> They traded their best offensive line. >> Remember last year? >> Oh, yeah. >> First eight weeks, they were on here all. the time. >> Seattle should be on here coming up. >> They were. >> Oh, yeah. I. >> They will. I'm saying. >> How many How often has Seattle? Seattle's been on a couple times and and.
honestly they they have not been great. this year. But here's what I will say. about Seattle. They looked the best that. they've looked all season. Finally. connected in the combo blocks and. everything. New offensive coordinator. takes some time to get going. But Monday. Night Football was the best that they. looked. And again, when you look at this. group, really good. You got Quint Nelson. coming into town. How good is he? Look. at him climb. He's an absolute mer. against the Baltimore Raven. All these. clips, wait, do you see him? Here's what. I like about him here. He's a prick. Watch him climb on Wilson right here as. he climbs and beats the [ __ ] out of the.
defensive tackle. Gets up, seals that. whole edge, and then you're going to see. some more of him being a prick. Let's. climb on the linebacker right here. Here's what I love. Watch this when he. takes him down. Boom. And then rubs his. nuts over top of tea bags. Disrespectful. back. Yeah. And oh, you think that was. it? Guess what? It's coming again. Here. he goes on Wilson. Boom. Same thing. Let's put his ass on the ground and then. climb over top of him. Make sure his. helmet goes between your legs. This is. what I love about you're getting a guy. with attitude. He plays physical. He. plays tough, but then he's athletic. Gets out on the edge and buries a dude.
out in space. >> He's been doing that since he got here. And he chases the ball down the field. every single time. Whenever he's a. little bit banged up, he won't be the. first guy to the ball. But he's trying. to be the first guy to the ball carrier. every single time. Literally a pillar. that you would want around your team. forever, right? >> Play fast, play physical, play smart. That's the first three pillars. Be big, be athletic, be an [ __ ] Those are. the next three. He's got them all. >> You don't let that guy out your building. and they just did. >> No. Okay. >> That's not what Dodd is looking for, baby. Dodge is looking for speed and. style and swagger. Okay. So, I wouldn't.
I wouldn't worry. >> Triple S. >> That's right. >> What about pizzazz? You think. >> they're probably looking for a little. pizzazz? Maybe a lot of pizzazz, you. know, but right now when it comes to. what did you say? Mean, [ __ ] prick. >> Athletic. >> Athletic. They don't want that. >> Agile [ __ ] Uh Zable moves over to. the right where he played in college, right? >> Yeah. And Zable's played four different. positions in college. So I don't think. this is anything unusual for him. I. think it's going to be an easy. transition. Go back over. He played left.
tackle, left guard, right guard, right. tackle, all at North Dakota State. So I. think that's an easy transition. Let's. move him to right guard. Bradford was. kind of looked at as kind of the weak. link over there, but now this guy's got. a lot of starts over the last two years. Great depth piece. And now you move. Zabel over there and you got Quinton. Nelson. They got a great line. >> How do they describe Zable? >> I mean, just an absolute pit bull. a. younger Quint Nelson to be quite honest. with you. >> Now they're both in the same building. And Quinton Nelson's going to get. another deal here. He's a rental for the. Seattle Seahawks. We assume they will. love him and try to get something done,
especially if they have massive success. Quick, which we all assume they will. He. has been uh they put a video of him. walking in the building for the first. time. He'll be playing on Monday Night. Football. >> Yeah, >> he'll play on Monday Night Football. We'll get a chance to see that. His. first game for the Seattle Seahawks. Uh. obviously, it'll be a prime time game as. the Seattle Seahawks continue to try to. maybe go back to back in the Super Bowl. I think bringing Quinton Nelson in. certainly helps that asset. And uh. >> I can't believe he's not a member of the. Colts. Like I'm just kind of you know to. force Buckner, he's not here anymore. either. >> Don't cry cuz it's over Smog cuz it.
happened. >> There'll be there'll be new ones. >> Hard to make that one work. But. >> there'll be new guys. >> What do you mean? >> Well, JJ Watt was so [ __ ] funny, wasn't he? >> Well, maybe the next guy will be able to. find like a really good offensive. lineman that can kind of hold down one. of the most important group. Or maybe. they're able to find with one of those. picks in the middle of rounds that a. really good DT tackle that's like. perennial. >> We might. >> bowler. >> Or maybe you find a wide receiver that. can just get open, which is what. everybody's looking for right now,
especially in the slot. Maybe you'll. find a running back that is top five in. the league. How do we not win with all. these [ __ ] guys? >> Great question. >> Great question. >> Team game. >> Dods is the one that stood on the table. for all these guys, by the way, which. isn't getting talked about. He's a good. player. like this guy. >> We'd like you to do your own research on. what's real and what is not whenever we. talk about things that are happening. behind closed doors. >> But not not with Abe Lincoln though. >> Well, I was about to say we do we still. do not know what happened with a. Lincoln. >> All completely verified. >> I don't know about the baseball stuff,
but something that is completely. verified. He would have definitely made. the trenches. I believe he had a great. wrestling record like 301 or some [ __ ]. like that. >> Abe. >> Yeah. >> So, you think he would have been a. tackle? I don't think I know. That's. confir. You can look that one up. No, but he would be a left tackle because. usually the Because that's Worfs, right? Worfs is. >> Yeah. Worfs. Linderbomb. Yeah, >> Linder Bomb center. He's a great. wrestler. Worfs tackle. He's a great. wrestler. Normally the wrestlers we hear. are centers and guards. He's a little. bit bigger. You don't really hear about. tackles much. Worfs would be the answer.
Abe would be the. >> He was lanky though. He probably be like. a one of those tight ends you bring in. 13 personnel. >> Grank like the first ever WWE superstar, not like Greco Roman wrestling. >> here. Speaking of two. >> Yeah, it's okay. I thought so. >> Is that. >> Oh, he held the strap universe. >> He was the first one who had the spinner. title which John Cena paid homage to. because John Cena Marine wanted to pay. his respects to. >> former commander-in-chief uh Abraham. Lincoln who obviously led a massive dub.
So yeah, they. >> started WWE backlash right after. >> we Wrestlemania wasn't enough. He wanted. one more shot. So, he did create. backlash and I I believe this is. >> this is real the this is the WWE'se's. website. He is a wrestling hall of. famer. >> Hello. You thought I was lying. >> And you should have seen he was the. first one that popped out with one of. these spinners. >> Invented the choke slam. >> What? >> The first Sin City streak fight as well. >> What? >> Yeah. >> I didn't know this.
>> I thought I thought it's time to talk. about tables, ladders, and chairs. No. >> Jeff Hardy said when he saw Abraham. Lincoln do that swanton bomb in the book. because they had pictures of it, right? >> He said that's what I'm going to do. And. he's still doing it to this day. The. Abraham Lincoln swan bomb. >> Legend. >> Called it the segregation bomb back. then. >> The anti segregation bomb is what he. called it. >> I can't believe he started spinners. Latrell Spreewell, I mean, had to do. some real research to get in there to. figure out the spinners because they.
don't stop. >> Pretty important. They don't stop. >> He rides spinners. He rides spinners. >> They don't stop. >> Man, music used to be so special back in. the day. >> Hell yeah. >> Congrats to Jay-Z. >> Hell yeah. >> Roger Goodell said, "Hey, listen. If. we're doing this whole Rock Nation does. the halftime show with Apple Music, I'm. going to need you in there at least one. time." Oh, so you you got it. So he's. doing it. Is this the last year of Rock. Nation half? >> Disclosed. I believe two years ago they. signed an extension but they did not.
mention how many years it was for. >> Okay. I'm not saying I know I do not. know the information. We looked this up. earlier. We do not have an exact end or. expiration of Jay-Z and Rock Nation and. Apple Music running the halftime show. for the NFL. But if this was a potential. last one and the agreement was between. Goodell and Jay-Z for him to do it, that. would make a lot of sense. Even though a. lot of people are kind of coming after. him for doing this, it's like this. probably pretty understood that this was. going to happen. He's been doing shows. >> Yeah, >> he's been doing shows. Get back in. there. I think the features are going to.
be crazy. >> Yes. I I think it's going to be I think. it's going to be quite a spectacle if I. had to guess. Age, if I had to guess. >> That's what I mean. That's what it's. about, right? Like who are there going. to be the surprise features to pop out. and then everyone gets all juiced like. he could do this throughout the whole. set. >> And last year it was fun trying to learn. Spanish, but the vibes just of it all. It was I it was pretty vibe. I think. somebody got married in there. Remember. legally married. >> So people got got married in the end of. it. There was celebration. He threw a. football. He jumped off of it. There was. good show. I think we all just expect a.
good spectacle. I think Jay-Z's capable. of doing that. >> I agree. >> I think he's capable of doing that. I. can't wait to watch. You know what else. I can't wait to watch and learn? >> What's happening? Do it. >> Let's learn about some defense. >> Hell yeah. >> Here we go. >> Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for. Everything DB with Darius J. Butler. Good D. Who around the NFL was swinging. that thing? Who's potentially going to. win a championship with their great ass. D? who needs to be celebrated for how. good that D really is. Let's go to. everything DB, good D with Darius J. Butler. >> Yeah, there are a couple teams, couple. defenses that can win a championship.
potentially. We actually mentioned Brick. in this defense. He's been doing a. phenomenal job with it uh as of late. Jesse Bates, he's been a dynamic. playmaker since coming into the National. Football League. Third right now among. active players with interceptions. And. right now, you're just going to see him. in the middle field. Nope. I'm going to. rotate down and be in man-to-man. coverage. And we saw the scramble drill. earlier with Joe Burrow and T. Higgins. This is a scramble drill again. Now, it's a little different when you're not. on the same page with your quarterback. You see here some miscommunication. He. thinks he's going somewhere else. Jesse.
Bass, maybe he's trying to throw it away. last minute. Nope. I got hands, not a. DB. This is his 28th interception. 14. with the Bengals. Now his 14th with the. Falcons. You don't see receivers, you. know, get that Tony toe tap on the. sideline like that. Secured the catch. Ball did not move. All hands catch. Just. a phenomenal play by a phenomenal. playmaker, Jesse Bates. >> We very rarely see a Brock party mistake. like this. Now, now incredible catch, but we were talking about this earlier. It's like Brock Party very rarely has. one of these. Yeah, >> he's just known to make the right.
decision. We've remembered a couple of. bad games that he's had. Remember. Cleveland, he had a bad game. There's a. couple others. It's very rare for Brock. Party to make like a self-inflicted. negative type of mistake. There was one. I don't think it's just because Brock. Py, I think it's Atlanta defense for. real. >> Yeah, defense. They're going to force. it. And they forced a lot. They were. plus four in turn. They created four. turnovers, two interceptions and two. forced fumbles. Uh Jesse Bates also had. a force fumble late against uh George. KD. The ball game was kind of out of. hand, but still a forced fumble against. another great player. So yeah, it's one.
thing to make a mistake, but then for. the defense or the defender to make you. pay for it, that's another thing. Jesse. Bates, he is definitely going to make. you pay for it. >> Jesse Bates the third six career game. with an interception and a force fumble. Only other player to have more past uh. 40 season in the last 40 seasons, Rod. Woodson. >> Great name. Great. Yeah, I think so. There's a bunch of stats coming out. about Jesse Bates. One of them that. hasn't been talked about enough. Cincinnati Bengals downfall started. whenever they let him out of the. building. He goes down to Atlanta, obviously continues his Hall of Fame. career, we will assume. Go ahead, Debb. >> Unbelievable. Yeah, talk about another.
safety being back. We talked about Brian. Branch a little early, but got the Kirby. Joseph news for the Detroit Lions. Once. they're together, they'll be probably. the best duo in the league if they're. fully healthy. And right now, we know. Jordan Love sit rep a few weeks ago was. Jordan Love taking shots to Christian. Watson. Uh Brian Branch is probably. watching deep in the post. Great break, great read, and once again making the. quarterback pay for taking the chance. This Jordan Love, he sees this match up. He's going to make this throw to number. nine every time. And rarely do you see a. DB go up with a big time wide receiver.
I mean, Christian Watson, that's a 65. wide receiver. You see him go up and. Moss guys week in and week out. But. Brian Branch made his presence felt. And. this he had a limited snaps, I think, like 45 snaps, somewhat of a pitch. count. So, we'll expect him to be out. there fulltime pretty soon here. But. Brian Branch, he's going to make his. impact felt every week. >> Kelvin Shepard's thanking his lucky. stars here that we got Kirby Joseph back. on the practice field, Brian Branch back. on the football field because there's. been a lot of people saying it's the. worst defense of all time. >> Yeah, if you look at the defense, I. wouldn't definitely wouldn't say that. the quarterbacks are the strengths of. their defense. You know, they have a.
good pass rush and a good pass rusher, but if you have those safeties, they can. help you not only run game, especially. Branch, but in that pass game as well. on creating turnovers is always premium. because when you get a turnover, you're. handing the ball to the guy that we got. early on the show, Jir Gibbs. Jared Golf. playing in the MVP level. So, yeah, turnovers and extra possessions are. huge. >> Jir Gibbs bit of a smartass. I like him. >> He's hilarious. >> He's a Mark, too. >> Uh, wrestling. Yeah. Dressed up as Jeff. Hardy last year. I I think him talking. about Jared Goff, you never know what's. real, what isn't. I think he's probably.
pretty similar. I think him and golf. pretty tight. >> Yeah, but but he did kind of mention. like his first year there. I bet they. were kind of just both like, "Fuck this. guy." Like, "What?" And then they're. like, "Oh, okay. We're the same people. He's just being sarcastic all the time.". >> Yeah, we are the same exact people. Yeah. Okay. We can really benefit from. each other. They are a good team up. there in Detroit if that defense can get. anything going. Sounds like they have. opportunity. Anybody else showcase some. good D this weekend? >> You know what? You saw an ass kicking. down here. Divisional ass kicking in the. NFC South with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now, Baker Mayfield came back, didn't. have to do much. Defense once again.
kicked ass. I believe they were plus. four as well in the turnover battle. This is Tai Smith. You going to see. Keonte Scott is a nickel. He's going to. blitz. Whenever you see that safety. stack behind the nickel, you better. expect some nickel pressure. He's going. to rotate down to the curl flat. defender. Bryce Young never sees him. Does a great job beling under cutting. that little hook route. And once again. making the play. So many times we see. linebackers, safeties, corners. Nicholls. get to this spot and make it a bat down. Get up and celebrate. Yeah, that's cool. But turnovers are premium. Now you give.
this offense into great field position. It's a great big big time play and Bryce. Young being fooled after how he started. the season. That's something to be. concerned about. But short week, maybe. they can turn it around. >> Five sacks, forced fumble, a touchdown. pick. I mean, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. defense dominated. Todd Bull is expected. to do that. AJ, you think they're going. to be able to handle this type or handle. these types of expectations defensively. rest of the year? >> Yeah, I think they have to. I mean, I. think they are definitely athletic. enough to do it and this this play. really showcases that. But yeah, I mean, I think everyone kind of wrote them off.
and they feel like they probably have a. little chip on their shoulder. They. didn't right back to that. >> That's right. >> They didn't right back. That's good deed. down there in Tampa Bay. AQ. Ain't. nothing you can do about that if you're. Bryce Young. >> No. Bulls is a stud and and he does such. a great job. There's always a pressure. Always a pressure right there. They come. with the Mike Sam blitz. They they bail. the will out. So, he's always trying to. do something to confuse quarterbacks and. and these guys just have to make the. play. >> All right. Congrats to the Buccaneers. back in the conversation. Panthers, how. are they going to respond? We find out. tomorrow night against the Packers. Also, uh is there any more? >> You talk about confusing the.
quarterback. That's what the Minnesota. Vikings do week in and week out. Now, this is you can look at this situation. 115 left, first down. You got a guy got. bunch of guys up at their line of. scrimmage. You know, field position. >> Cashman very good field position. >> Blake Cashman probably a first team allp. pro if he keeps playing how he's playing. right here. You see four, you know, quarters across the board. And watch. Harrison Smith. And then this tight end. as well. So, the tight end, he sees the. pressure. I don't think Dan Jones see I. don't know AQ maybe you can help me. because this tight end he seems like.
it's a hot route and the ball is coming. to him the whole time he does that the. entire time down the field which makes. it very very easy for a quarter safety. especially if they're Harrison Smith to. just sit there and say okay this is my. only threat too vertical let me just. read the quarterback Cash does a good. job getting underneath buzzing out but I. mean maybe it's a miscommunication here. from Dan Jones you can't throw this ball. especially on fourth down he does right. to number 22 which made this got him his. 40th interception. Put him in a 4020. club with uh Charles Woodson and Ron Day.
Barber for Harrison Smith. >> Yeah. NFL researcher puts that stat out. Obviously a phenomenal career for. Harrison Smith. You said on fourth down. you meant in fourth quarter it's first. down. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> We can't be doing that on first down. Absolutely not. That cannot be happening. on first down. No. No way can we lose. this game on first down whenever we have. opportunities. Daniel Jones is probably. going to be with the Colts next year. >> Okay. Oh yeah. >> Probably going to be with the Colts next. year. There's a $26 million something. >> Eat it. >> What? >> I like the guy. We've spent time around.
him. He was a joy to be around at that. softball game, but he just. >> he's fresh off an Achilles. Maybe he. needs a little bit more time. >> Let him get back. >> I love Daniel Jones and what he did for. us for 10. >> The turnovers. That's that was like the. whole thing before he came to the Colts. is like, "Hey, no matter what, this guy. throws too many interceptions. He. fumbles way too often." And then that. just didn't happen last year and it's. coming back in spades this year. What. was that? AQ, you want something? >> Yeah. If we can go to the wide behind. view, not there's another one from. behind where it's wider. Boxy. Yeah,
this one. Perfect. Okay. So, if we look. at this, so see the tight end. See how. the tight end looks hot, right? The. reason he looks hot. So, if you look at. this, you got the three bigs to the left. of the center. Pause it right there. Yep. You got the three bigs to the left. of the center and then you got the other. big just inside the tight end out there. That's your four down. So, the center's. going to come up. Four down. Four down. Four down. Now, we got to find the DBs, right? So, you look to the strength. See. over top of the tight end, there's only. one guy. So, we don't count him cuz he. can't come. So, now Sam and Mike are the. two guys over top. And then you got the. Will out there. So, this is a Mike Sam. blitz. But check this out. Look at the.
guy over 71. How he takes two steps to. occupy. That tight end thinks it's a. Mike Sam blitz. So, he looks hot. But. Daniel Jones recognizes that Mike then. bails. So, it's a confusing. It's a. cat-and- mouse game. By him taking two. steps. The tight end thinks it's a hot. So, he looks hot. But Daniel Jones. recognizes because he's dropping into. coverage. >> And he's probably supposed to cut in. front of Harrison right there. That's. probably where that ball's supposed to. be. Yeah, >> great block. >> The Vikings do this down after down. after down. Now, this is a situation. where you have to get guys out in the in.
the route if you're the offense. But so. many times you're watching Vikings. defensive tape and the offense is. keeping a running back and a tight end. So, you're getting three man routes. every time. And you got guys like. Cashman, you know, ducking in, getting. out. And then Redmond up right up the. middle of the field. Daniel Jones, he. can't step up and try to scramble. Like, if you pause right at the top of the. drop, there's no way for him to step up. the pocket is kind of collapsed and once. again it's first down. Just throw it. away. But if you're looking here at his. POV, nobody's open. You know, Josh DS is. covered. Matelis is under him. You got a. safety over the top. Harrison Smith is a.
great position over the top of the tight. end. You got Cashman buzzing out. underneath. That's the al that's the. other thing the Vikings do. Uh who. mentioned it? Aaron Rogers talking to. his defense. Hey, don't just get out and. cover grass. Like these [ __ ] they. get out and they're covering route. concepts. They're pattern matching. everything. So they're looking guys up. So Cashman, he knows where he's going. Mattelis, he knows where he's going. So, it's tough for a quarterback and a. receiver, a tight end right here, to try. to figure this [ __ ] out on the fly. >> He's supposed to get in front of. Harrison though there, right? That's. what quarterbacks are all saying. Payton. Manning's watching this. He's saying you. got to get in front of that guy there.
>> In quarters in quarters coverage, you're. going to get over top of that 51 and. then you're going to right cross his. face. So, basically cross his face. It's. still going to be a seam route, but. you're going to cross his face. If it's. a post safety, you're going to run. outside of him. So yeah, he should cross. his face and get inside of number 22, but instead he's, you know, still. waiting for the hot rod. >> Yeah, he's baiting out. He's baiting. out. He takes himself out of that. almost. And then all of a sudden, Daniel. thinks he's still running that he's. supposed to cut in front of him. So if. he cuts in front of him, Daniel Jones. almost throws perfect ball here. >> He runs full speed and that's the key.
If he runs his actual route, he's got to. break in hot immediately. That's the. thing. Cuz technically he wasn't hot. with that mic bailing out of there. So. he just runs his route and Daniel. thinks, "Hey, I'm throwing to a spot cuz. he's probably supposed to run a post.". Yeah, but he pause like he's as soon as. so Daniel peaks left first, he sees 44. drop out and then by the time he gets. back to 86, Daniel knows he's not. running full speed. He's not run like. nobody he's not he doesn't run like. that. He's crossover running. He's. waiting for the ball. So, you just got. to come off of that. I mean, tuck it, try to run, throw it away. It's first. down. You're a veteran quarterback. So,
these are the things that you get super. frustrated with, you know, and this is. these are things you talk about in. meetings, but you had a chance to beat. an undefeated football team on the road. instead you lose this game. Now you're. fired. Like it's crazy how [ __ ] happens. in the NFL, but once again, you have to. have players uh that make you pay for. these mistakes. And that's what Harrison. Smith is gonna do. >> Now, scoring 16 points against this. Vikings defense is going to be tough. Like, if their offense can get them to. 17 each week, if they can get them to. 20, I mean, the Vikings still have been. impossible to beat. We had it right.
there. We're right back in this thing. >> Mhm. >> We're going to win Super Bowl again. >> Can still happen this weekend. No, I. can't. >> It's a field goal earlier, too. So, >> now you're on a 10ear rebuild. >> Got field goal ranges tied. >> 10 year. >> 10 year. You've already paid your. quarterback. That's. >> Hey, that's good. D, >> let me keep doing this. I got faith in. the in the team. Hiring the right. person. >> Dod is the guy. >> All right, AQ, we were practicing before. this hour. The time has come. >> Okay, the time has come. Can we get him. a handheld so he can uh because you only.
need one hand here, right, for the donk. toss? >> Absolutely. >> All right. Can you pick up the handheld? >> You need to grab the mic. >> It's over there. It's over there, I. think. >> I bet you uh. >> Hello. >> Oh. >> Oh, that works really well. >> Nailed it. >> Well, the microphone did work. Yes, I. think you did nail that. Well, whoever. wired the microphone to work would be. the one that's saying they nailed it. But. >> for you now, you will attempt to throw. these little miniature rubber donkeys um. and have them land on their feet or on. their head on that mat there. If you. were competing against somebody, I.
believe you'd be trying to get it closer. to the center point. But all we're. looking for you to do is just land one. of them on there. You have two. opportunities to win 30 people $500. >> AQ, uh, I know you want to hear from. people before you do this daunting task. of donk. Uh, AJ has something to tell. you before you take this on. >> I do. AQ, I was checking out the. official rules for this game. If you. land that thing, that sucker upside down. completely. I guess that's a gamewinner. like walk-off homer. So, go for that. >> Okay, we'll double it. Actually, we will. we'll make 60 winners of $500 if you.
land it on the walk-off upside down, but. it has to land on fully on that thing. Okay? If you if you land it upside down. or on all four feet and it's only half. on, we'll still win. 30 people will. still win 500 bucks. If you get a full. upside down land on that mat, all points. of contact are on that mat. 60 people. will win $500. All you got to do is just. make one of them AQ. I see you're. grabbing the snaw. Did you do any. research on this or did. >> No, I just I just kind of played with. it. I didn't like the ears cuz the ears.
are offset. >> and the no I don't I don't think the. tail's big enough. So, I think the nose. is the one. >> Okay. So, you're going to go with. >> little meteor grip, you know. >> Yeah, the snaws of the donk. >> Uh con man has something to tell you. here before you attempt to flip the don. Con loves donking around. >> I I love donk, but AQ, you got donk. written all over your face. It feels. like that you know how to handle a donk. You already grabbed the meaty part of. it, so it feels like you kind of dunks. You do. And in your soul, I know that. you can flip that dunk perfectly.
>> All right, here we go. >> Uh, Ty Schmidt, uh, do you think he has. any chance here? >> Uh, I do. I think this is, you had him. do this because we kind of knew like, hey, he's not going to make a football. on the basketball hoop. We can't just. keep doing that and doing that and doing. that and doing that and having no. results. So, let's kind of bring this. gimmick [ __ ] out. And, uh, there's. I'd say he's got about a 50% chance. >> Okay. I like that. I don't know if Danny. knows what that means. Uh Darius J. Butler is thinking of a motivational. speech for the second one if it is. needed. We will be relying upon you to.
get a dub. AQ, go ahead and give your. first donk attempt, pal. >> All right, here we go. >> 30 people to win $500. All you got to do. is land this thing either on four legs. or the complete upside dot. >> Oh, pretty good though. >> Can't leave it short. >> Good dunk. Good dunk. >> The backspin might have ended up hurting. him a little bit as that thing rolled. from all fours down to its side. You. know what they say about horses on its. side. It's not good. Same with this. donkey. That's worth zero. Debbut now. has a message of motivation for you. AQ. Shipley as you attempt to win 30 people. or 60 people $500.
>> Less thinking. Just grab that that that. ass and toss it. You know what to do. >> All right. Here we go. >> Toss that. Come on. >> Let me see what you got. You throw that. dong. 30 people could win. >> Yeah. Got. >> Oh. I'll tell you what, YOU GIVE AQ A GOOD. DUNK, THAT BOY WILL HANDLE IT. 30 people. $500. All you got to do is repost this. first one of the year. Let's go. >> Say something nice to somebody. We.
should do a lot more of that. Input the. easiest way to pay you and 30 people. >> will be randomly selected to win $500. We appreciate the hell out of you. Great. work today, AQ. >> Hell yeah. That was fun. That was fun. I. needed that. Great work. >> I like good doning. I can lie. You know, 30 people win five. I I appreciate what. you did there. >> I went I went a little further. That was. because of Tai. You can't leave it. short. I heard that. I went a little. further. >> I think they would say good trajectory. on the donk as well to give it an. opportunity to really land the way it. did. 30 people win $500 because of you.
D Butch, great work this week, brother. >> Very much. >> Good situational report. Great. Good. D. Great work all week. Safe travelers. We. appreciate you. AJ, you're the man. Boys. in the back. Great work. Graphic design. boys. Let's go to the construction. workers outside. We appreciate what you. guys do for our. >> day youth. Oh yeah. >> Please don't cut our internet or our. power. We're We're It's a It's a. dangerous game we're playing every. single day out here as they are working. their asses off out there, which we. certainly appreciate to get this. roundabout done. But this morning we had. one of our fibers cut. Uh the other one. was potentially getting eyeballed. We.
appreciate the way the construction. workers have uh dodge duck dip dive and. dodge their way through it to kind of uh. hopefully not take out all power and. internet to this entire community. We. appreciate them. We genuinely appreciate. them and we're thankful for it all. uh. lucky to do this. You know, there there. was a lot of chatter about um you know, last year Tennessee show uh about uh. game day after what happened with. Charlie Kirk. I think there's been a lot. of uh reporting. I have not said. anything to anybody about that. That was.
a uh crazy time for us all to be alive. I think there's a lot of things being. talked about that I'll all kind of step. on top of each other. Just know that I'm. very very thankful I get to do this for. a living. I'm very lucky that I get to. do this for a living. But I do get a lot. of things said to me that I think are. wild and uh I guess it just comes with. the territory now. I have to learn to be. better with that. Even if it is. threatening my life or raping my. children or anything like that, this is. uh just the life that I get to live. So. I'm very very thankful. I'm very very. lucky and I wouldn't be able to do it. all if it wasn't for you.
