A. up. Hey. Hey.
The following program is a collection of. students talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic,
informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss, or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans in the real. world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further. >> Hey, what? >> Let's go. This show stinks and the fact that you.
listen we are very very thankful for the. line with a gorgeous assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers you. damn it. >> Be a friend. Tell a friend something. nice could change their life. sports. >> Hello beautiful people and welcome to. our humble abote the draft kings thunder. on this big sports Tuesday September.
29th 2026. This sports program begins. now. >> FOOTBALL IS OBVIOUSLY THE sport that we. are so incredibly. lucky to talk about on a normal basis. Uh last night football had an incredible. tale of another old man going onto a. football field in performing perfectly. for a team that certainly needed it on. prime time football against an. undefeated Eagles team. 38-year-old Case. Keenan makes his first start in first.
playing time over a thousand days in. slices and dices a Philadelphia Eagles. defense that we obviously all hold in. incredibly high regard. He and Ben. Johnson were able to cook in prime time. because Ben Johnson is a super genius. He is a offensive mastermind. He got the. ball to all of his different playmakers. in a variety of different ways. And the. Philadelphia Eagles defense was just. spinning. Now, for the first time since. the beginning of the Philadelphia. Eagles, >> before Vince Papali played. >> Wow. Seriously, before Vince Pap, shout.
out Vince Papali. >> Since before Vince Papali, all the way. to the beginning, >> they've never gone three games with no. turner. Th this is a historically. terrible Eagles defense right now. But I. don't need that to be the conversation. point. It needs to be that Case Keenum. made him look that way. Ben Johnson made. him look that way. Now Sirriani had a. moment after his quarterback got. cheapshotted for sure where he was. caught calling somebody a couple phrases. that uh mean very uh important to.
society and very soft I think is what he. was saying in this particular time. We. don't know who he was talking to, potentially player, or maybe he was. sending that one to Ben Johnson and then. just kind of it we're we're literally. making that up. We do not know who he. said that to. We assume it was the. player. He did not say it to Ben. Johnson. But that moment in time is such. a pivotal time of the game when Jaylen. Herz gets hit late. Certainly late. >> Full cell. >> I I mean full body floating through sky.
I'm flying through the air right now. after a shot. Boom. bang, head smack. Obviously, the unk calls him into the. blue tent while we were calling uh the. game on the sideline for a rehearsal of. potential future ones, especially in the. big game that's around the corner in. February. Uh our first thought was uh it. didn't look like he was in a bad spot. It didn't look like he was knocked. unconscious. Was he a big hit? Sure. They take him off the field, put him. into the blue tent. Andy Dalton comes in.
to cap off a drive that started at the. three, ends up at the two. throws a pick. to Theamman and all of a sudden it's. like if they can't score after a 95 yard. drive and Jaylen Herz is getting taken. off the field after a late hit into the. blue tent and Andy Dalton's throwing it. whenever you're this close and you have. Saquon Barkley behind you averaging like. seven yards a carry feels like it might. not be the Eagles night across the board. but Case Keenan was going to force it. into him every single play they. seemingly had a purpose and a reason and.
was a setup for a future play and this. is why Ben Johnson I think was probably. feeling a little bit disrespected when. everybody was worried about, hey, he's. never had a backup quarterback play his. offense. He's never had to do that. Keenum seemingly perfect guy to operate. Him and his kids last night, him and his. family last night, him having that. massive win. One last go, maybe another. one around the corner, maybe another one. around the corner. Hamstrings are a. fickle thing. An interesting thing is. Caleb Williams is going to try to. recover and rehab as quickly as. possible. But anytime a muscle is.
pulled, especially that one with how. long it is, you don't know when. perfect's coming back. And you don't. know when it's going to pop up again. Case Kanum, what a stud. What a night in. Chicago. What an environment. >> Yeah. Unbelievable. >> Perfect weather. The place was rocking. What a night uh Monday Night Football. The talk tables here at Boston Conor and. at Ty Schmidt. Ty, we were talking about. it a little bit last night, but if Ben. Johnson is able to do that with Case. Keenum, I I think Ben Johnson's probably. gonna have the Bears offense in a pretty. good spot for a long time, regardless of.
what happens at the starting position. >> Yeah, I don't think I ever really had. doubts necessarily about Ben Johnson, but after last night, that kind of just. capped it off. Like, you just can't. doubt this guy. It doesn't matter what. the situation is. It really doesn't. matter who he's got playing quarterback. like pe people were acting like you know. I mean again a thousand days without. playing quarterback or whatever it was. for Case Keenum is a long time but he. looked like he's started a 100 games in. a row in the NFL like currently I mean. he he was unbelievable I think what what. he had five complet like they came out.
just throwing the ball they put it on. Case Keenum's shoulders and that off. that offense operated like gang busters. didn't matter who was in there last. >> yeah and everybody thought Vic Fangio is. going to pack the box cuz case Keenum's. there and they got a two-headed. thoroughbred back there in Swift and. Manungai which they do. Let's not act. like they do not with a great offensive. line. They came they come out spinning. it and Fangio was bringing it. >> Yeah. >> Case Kan versus the Blitz yesterday. Hembo stat 11 for 11. >> 145 yards two touchdowns zero.
interceptions and I think he even had a. Rich Ganon one of these at one point. Case Keenum in bag understanding exactly. where he has to go. Let's go to. nine-year NFL vet man who played all. over the secondary Darius Jay Butler. Good to see you at the 11. Case Keenum, obviously against the Blitz. is crazy, but that's just knowing where. to go. Hot route, hot route whenever. somebody comes. Is that the big. advantage that these experienced guys. have maybe over a younger backup. quarterback? >> Absolutely. Been around a while, been a. few different systems. I've seen all the. different defenses and yeah, I was.
shocked as well that he came out. spinning the ball, throwing the ball. over 30 times. They didn't actually run. the ball as well as I thought until late. when they kind of had to put the game. away. But Ben Johnson, I mean, calling. it great, but you got to go out there. and play. You got to have a trigger man. that can actually make the reads, make. the throws. The young guys on the. outside showed up as well. Luther Burton. had a great game. Khalif Raymond showed. up, had some big time plays. Roma Dunes, they had the big drop in the endzone, but he made some big catches down the. stretch as well. So, just getting. everybody involved, and that's tough as. a defense when you can't just circle a. guy. Hey, let's let's stop number 10.
Let's double him in the red area or. third down, let's stop this guy. It was. just a mixed bag from the beginning. It. was like he was calling his first 15 for. the entire uh game and the the Eagles. never got going. And for for all that. money that they've invested in that. defensive front, Jaylen Carter, Jordan. Davis make the move for Gennard for them. to not have an impact on this game and. really on this season so far got to be. incredibly disappoint. Let's go to one. half of the hammer down. Cowboys AP tone. under obviously ends up being the play.
27-7 and Chicago Bears plus three and a. half also the winning play last night on. Monday Night Football. Monday Night. Countdown uh they have us uh predict the. final scores as well. So I thought. Eagles win but 2017 I'm clearly on Bears. plus three and a half which end up being. my pick in this entire thing. Also love. the undergoing into it all. So I think. whenever you were projecting the night, >> we could have never expected Case Keenum. to be like that. No, I mean could have.
never expected maybe Ben Johnson and. Case Keenum and maybe the bullies in a. locker room did which. that's why a locker room is the best. place on earth because they will buy in. and believe Joe Thomas I mean just told. a incredible story about finding out. very late into his career with the. Cleveland Browns that we're never going. to win here. It's been over a decade. plus and they never had and I think he'd. already been on maybe an 0 and6 team at. that point. It's like you can buy in to. anything when you're in a team, especially when everybody's rowing in. the same direction. We need buyin. We. need everybody on the same page so we. can be the most powerful current that we.
can have. You know, if everybody's going. in the same way, this idea, even if it's. not your favorite one, can become better. than it's ever going to be. So, I assume. the locker room believed in Case Kan to. be great. I assume they were going to. pick him up. Outside of it, it was hard. to just buy into the fact that Case. Kanuman was going to come in there and. slice and dice. So, I think a lot of. people were picking the Eagles to win. Bears fans were having a good time. >> Oh, yeah. Oh, they were having a good. time. Shout out to the Bears fans. getting to enjoy this, especially with a. third string quarterback. >> Yeah, >> right. I guess that's not going forward. >> No, he's definitely.
>> backup. No, no, I'm I know. I heard some. things last night. People make some. calls, but no, Caleb's the guy. >> No, no, not about be. And I think people. were saying, >> "Oh, number one guy.". >> Yeah. Yeah, that's what people were. saying, Tom. >> But nonetheless, couldn't project the. Bears to do what they did last night. Shout out to Bears fans getting to enjoy. the hell out of the ass beating they put. on Monday Night Football in their home. in a perfect evening in Chicago. The. under felt inevitable though and uh I. think did people win last night or did.
people lose their asses this weekend to. the sports books? >> Uh people lost their asses uh because. they are. >> never what I guess. >> They are always on the over in the. favorite. I mean that's just kind of how. people roll. And you talk about like. >> yes maybe people would have thought the. Bears would have won or covered last. night but not the way they did it. They. ran for 281 two seasons ago against the. Eagles. So that's if they won last. night, that's kind of the way that you. thought it would have to be. Not the way. that not through the air, just. dominating through the air the entire. night with Case Keenum. Uh but no, for.
the week the the home buppies, roof ruff. roof just barked all weekend long. Six. and two straight up were home dogs. These are dogs, okay? They're not. supposed to win. They are favored to. lose. uh six and two straight up, seven-. one against the spread in week three. where the uh the dogs at home, which is. just an incredible stat. Um they, you. know, they talk about like with division. games how that kind of that happens a. lot, but not just this was across the. entire NFL board, uh were home dogs. This it was the kind of the story of the.
betting weekend in that situation for. all of that. >> Yeah. And Ben Johnson as an underdog, I. think he's pretty good against the. spread. uh back to his time with the. Lions and also with the Bears outright. it's about 50/50 on if they're going to. win but against the spread he has a yeah. he's uh 18 and seven against the spread. as a dog okay whenever he's involved in. the entire situation he is a mastermind. and it was on display last night. >> I mean you got Luther Burton going you. know on end end round fake double uh. reverses obviously we're throwing to.
start this Vic Fangio thinks we're. definitely going to come out and try to. establish the run like we did last year. and everything it's just like Ben. Johnson's brain is uh kind of evident. every single time we watch this Bears. team and last night I think bigger than. ever. >> Yeah, it was incredible and that's like. the big thing too is the motions. I. remember the first drive. I think they. had emotion on their first four or five. plays and it's one of those things that. you see and you know Ben Johnson's doing. this with his third string now second. maybe first string quarterback but still. their ability to do that. It makes you.
question why every single team doesn't. do that. That probably goes into. practicing players scheme all those. things. But watching the Bears was one. thing. Watching the Eagles is the same. thing. Like for you da you mentioned how. much money they're spending on their. defense with Davis and Grenard and. Jaylen Carter and couple corners who are. probably going to get paid pretty soon. as well. It must be so frustrating as an. Eagles fan to have to sit through this. Eagles offense again with Manion. You. almost feel for them a little bit. because they have so much skill with. Jaylen and Devonte Smith who he's on the.
sideline not looking too happy. Saquon. who looks awesome in the neck roll need. way more running backs wearing whatever. that thing was. But still for the Eagles. fans, you got to be livid because we're. what, two years removed from them. winning a Super Bowl and it looks like. they are years away from that again. >> 10 different play callers 11 years. >> Crazy. >> Jaylen, that's crazy. >> Going all the way back to college. >> Yeah, Lane Kein started that. >> his freshman year at Alabama and then. Pulo was last year. So from Lane Keifin. to Pulo, Alabama to Philadelphia, 10.
different play callers. Now a couple of. them have gone on to have great success. Obviously, Kelly Mo down there in New. Orleans. Kellen Moore and Jaylen Herz. had massive success. That's why he. became a head coach. Shane Stiken, now. the head coach of the Indianapolis. Colts, he and Jaylen Herz obviously had. incredible success. Doug Peterson and. Jaylen Herz obviously had some success. So, the names there are a lot, but. having a different voice every single. year, even if the plays or the offense. is similar, because I do think they're. for a while. This one seemingly a bunch. much different than what the Eagles.
offense has been over the past Jaylen. Herz era. different voices with a. different plan, different strategy, different reactions in different. situations. I I mean, you would just. think that a guy would potentially do. better if he was to be around the same. play caller for multiple years. This. guy's supposed to be flushed out of the. NFL. You get a rookie quarterback that's. drafted high and everybody thinks he's. going to be good. And you give him four. or five different play callers in his. first five years, they're going to say, "They killed this guy. They're killing. this guy. They're killing this guy." And.
then he ends up being flushed out. And. the actual excuse is that guy never. really had a chance. He had so many. different play colors, so much turnover, so much change. Jaylen Herz has that. happening in real time. And they've won. a Super Bowl, been to two of them, and. he's already Super Bowl MVP. I'm not. completely out on Jayen Herz like a lot. of people are because of how much. success he's had. But I don't think this. is sustainable. >> to keep. >> just every year. I don't I don't think. it's like a sustainable thing just to. learn a whole new voice, a whole new. style, a whole new reaction to thing. That that just feels like a lot to put. on any quarterback, let alone, you know,
somebody who's already a Super Bowl MVP. that's already accomplished and gotten. paid. That that just feel And I don't. like making excuses for people, especially somebody looks as cool as. Jaylen Herz looks. >> Sure. >> I mean, he's laundry detergent clean. whenever he is walking around. He walked. in there with sweet. >> Oh, yeah. buds on, cooling, sunglasses, just like the coolest looking guy. So, I. don't think he needs me to make excuses. for him, but that does feel like an. insane trend that is happening with. Jaylen Herz at quarterback.
>> Yeah, that continuity is a big thing for. coaches, for players. We know as. professionals, you it's more of a back. and forth relationship like quarterbacks. going to come in, they're going to have. their input, the the game planner, the. play caller is going to have their input. as well. Even Even even as a special. teams guy, I'm sure that continuity. meant something with the guys that you. had to work with. just having a. different plan, being able to know what. is my defensive coordinator is thinking. in the two-minute drill or in the red. area. I can almost know it's going to be. one, two, or three calls as opposed to. what's going on with Jaylen Hurt. So, but we've seen quarterbacks be.
successful with it. We've seen, you. know, Lamar Jackson be successful. He. hasn't won a Super Bowl yet. Justin. Herbert, he's had to deal with a bunch. of different play callers. And then you. look at the Patrick Mahomes, the the. Josh Allens, the uh Joe Burrows, like. those guys have had the similar voices. in their ear for a long time. So, it has. to be it has to be uh uh very troubling. for Jaylen to have to deal with a. different 11 or 10 and 11 years. >> 10 and 11 years. And once again, um. there are some places in some. quarterbacks that have a coordinator. around them for like longer and have.
gotten worse somehow. >> No. >> Not good. Talking about Drake May. >> No. No. Are. >> you talking about Jordan Love? We're. drawing lines now that I don't know. >> No, no, no. I'm not doing that. Go. ahead, comment. >> Uh, well, just to Debb's point, like Sam. Darnold feels like the only one who's. been able to do it and actually have. success. Like, of course, now they lost. against the Commanders. That's one. thing, but he's in year two in Seattle. and he's on his second play caller. already. But he, you know, he won one.
with Kubiaak last year and that was what. his probably eighth in 10 years or. whatever. You talk about different. styles though and Jaylen having to learn. all this new everything, you know, of a. human even if it's a similar offensive. style. Football is football. QBR here on. play action with the Kell Moore 79.3. Pull last year 55.1 to start this season. 25. I I mean it's just, you know, and he. was with Kelly Mo cooking. >> I mean I mean they were going. >> they had another guy on those two teams. too. >> Well, yeah. AJ Brown, where's he at? You.
know, is the Eagles offense okay without. AJ Brown? and is the Patriots offense. okay without AJ Brown. Maybe we need to. start talking a little bit about AJ. Brown's absence from places on how they. do. But also maybe Jaylen just needs to. get comfortable with this guy and maybe. they won't get absolutely. >> demolished on Monday Night Football by. the Chicago Bears. That was a drumming. last night. Oh yeah. I I mean just an. absolute drumming last night by the. Bears. Well, and that's very concerning. if that's his uh QBR on play action cuz.
that is like the main tenant of like the. Matt Laflur, you know, offense where he. comes from. Like that that is where the. Packers butter their bread is on, you. know, long shots down the field on play. action. But it's also for the Eagles. like he's a firsttime play caller and. and maybe, you know, some more. established guys didn't necessarily want. to go there, but like in Philly it's. different. Like they they had to have. known, hey, if this guy comes in and. he's not good from the jump, like it. immediately turns up to a thousand. Like. I mentioned this last night when we were. on your bus. I was like, they're going. to be egging this guy's house by.
Halloween. Like they absolutely are. And. then it gets to the point almost where. it's like we want the continuity, but. like we can't bring this guy back. We. can't do it. We got to move on. And so. like what what are you going to do? >> And on the flip side, Chicago Bears fans. are we got a guy. >> We got the guy. >> We got we got the guy of this entire. thing. It was still so fascinating that. he picked the Chicago Bears. Like Ben. Johnson picked the Bears out of all the. could have been a head coach anywhere. Yeah. Probably three jobs in the entire. NFL. And Andy Reid,
Shawn McVey, probably at the time. >> at the time. Baltimore and Pittsburgh. >> Probably Tomlin and Harbaugh. >> Yeah. >> McVey. >> Sean Payton would have just gotten hired. by the Broncos. >> But other than. >> Okay. So like 26 jobs. after a Super Bowl. >> Okay. So 25 jobs if Ben Johnson really. pushed hard for to a building. Hey, listen. My grandma lives next to the. facility. She's near. I would like to.
coach for your team. And he had no care. for how that head coach felt or how that. building felt. If he was to push for. like 25, he would have got him. Like. push came to shove. they would have. figured out a way for him to become the. head coach of that team somehow. That's. how they were talking about Ben Johnson. Ben Johnson was like, "This guy is the. one guaranteed to be the one what he was. able to do in Detroit with Jared Goff. who got shipped out of town from LA. Crazy. Everything he did." So for him to. choose Chicago and then the Bears fans. literally get to reap, you know, from. that decision on Monday night this.
quickly, beautiful thing for ball, you. know, because there's a lot of coaches. that are supposed to be the next ones in. their ass. >> Yeah. And there's a lot of places that. aren't good fits. And it's like him and. Caleb. How are they going to fit. together? Well, it seems like it's a-ok. Okay. And by the way, I don't think it. matters. >> No. >> You know, this is like how we used to. talk about Kevin O'Connor with the. Vikings. We'll see with him with Kyler. Murray. It's like, no, Caleb would. definitely do Caleb stuff. And Caleb is. an incredible athlete, a freak show. quarterback. I think he does want to be. the greatest of all time. It was proven. last night that Ben Johnson can win with.
me a quarterback. >> I mean, >> Case Ke. But if I it I think Ben Johnson knew. that Case could throw with the way he. was throwing. But if for some reason. Case Keenum couldn't throw a football. last night, I think Ben Johnson would. have been able to design something for. them to win the game. Like I genuinely. believe that. So before the season when. he says we're going to break the points. records, I think that's because Ben. Johnson knows that he has it. Now the. torrential downpour game where they only. score three points, a lot of people are. going to judge them for that and I guess. that kind of counters my entire argument.
right here. But I guess it was a. torrential downpour. But I think no. matter who they have at quarterback, he. knew Case Keenum could spin it. Obviously Case Keenum was incred. incredibly prepared. But I think Bears. fans now think to themselves for the. next 30 years, we're going to be able to. just at least compete and win games as. opposed to being the shite that we were. for a long time because this guy's in. our building. >> I think with Ben Johnson, we can all see. like the play call and the play design. when he calls it. That's great. But the. difference and the things that we don't. see that we aren't privy to is when we. get kind of a peak in in postgame is.
like the the real culture that he's. instilling in that locker room and in. those guys. And we saw it on the first. touchdown with uh was it burden? Yeah. >> When they picked him up and carried him. six, seven yards like that's that's. mindset, that's physicality, that's. toughness. So all the things that you. maybe not associate or didn't associate. with Ben Johnson before he got to. Chicago, before he had that head man on, you hear him speak week in and week out. This is what really can take you over. the top. Now, I'm not going to sit here. and say you can win a Super Bowl or win. multiple Super Bowls or playoff games. with anybody at quarterback. I think you.
do need special players, especially at. those big time positions. Um, but yeah, any any Sunday, any given Sunday or. Monday, you're going into a game with. Ben Johnson with the headset on, you. know, as a team, as a fan base, you got. a good chance. >> Hey, congrats, Ben. Dude, >> extremely disciplined, too. Like, they're they are very disciplined. They. don't commit stupid penalties and stuff. like that. like he is a he is a. psychopath in the best possible way. >> Yeah. And I also like that he's got a. little heat with people. >> Me too. >> Yeah. I like that he's got a little heat. with people.
>> Yeah. Me too. >> He'll do a quick handshake, won't he? He'll do a quick handshake. Drive by. I'm out here. >> And he'll also talk [ __ ] at his. introductory press conference and be. like, I don't care about this guy. Bring. him on. Let's go. >> Like that. >> Is that your coach? >> That is my coach. Yeah, that is the. Packers coach. Yes. I don't know. I DON'T KNOW. THAT That's. the thing is like when you see that this. guy in your own division and then like. you said, you're like you're already. thinking like Jesus Christ, I'm gonna be. 55 before I know it and this guy's, you. know, he's still there. He's still.
there. Keep me up at night. >> Yes, he is. And it doesn't feel like. he's losing any juice. He's only getting. more comfortable, right? >> Hey, good, better, best. Never let a. rest. Good is better and you're better. is best. And the whole place is. screaming and he's like, "Yeah, we're. just good right now. We need to continue. to go." The lads will go to war for him. >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. It really does feel like fears it. too cuz he mentioned the the quarterback. thing cuz it wasn't not only just a. backup like he hadn't coached a former. number one like all the guys Caleb and. Jared were number one got number one. overall picks so he mentioned it in his. postgame like oh yeah I thought we were. going to have issues calling plays so I.
like that you know he was in a world. where coaches and players and. quarterbacks always saying the right. things or doing the right things trying. to at least I like how Ben is a little. different. >> and just to what Tai was saying about. his coach like you look around the. division it's Kevin Okonnell MCDC and. Ben Johnson like Kevin Oonnell was the. other guy we're talking about Being the. QB guru, we know MCDC's MCDC and it's. just Matt Laflur in comparison to those. guys sucks. >> No. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? >> ONE OF THE best. giving me THIS IS NOT.
>> I'M SORRY. >> I MEAN, THERE WERE SOME things upset. >> What have you done for me lately? That's. kind of what it comes down to cuz his. record is great, but you know, Rogers. ain't coming through that door anymore. >> Yeah, but remember lads, we were just. having this conversation last night. There were some things said in the. microphones maybe a few years ago that's. a little bit harsh, you know. >> Oh, yeah. Well, I stand by that. But. yeah, but yeah, you're right. Maybe a a. bit too over the top. I agree. >> What about Con man just right there? I. mean, if we were to pull up Lafllor's. record, I think Laf goes. >> Yeah, he's he's great. That's recency. bias. But it it is concerning when these. guys it is it is concerning when they.
can't over the last several years like. they can't beat teams in the division. You know, it's like last year. not not and then the year before it was. the Lions like already this year with. the Vikings like the I mean. >> he sucks. >> No. Jeez. >> They're they're incredibly undisiplined. too. >> Well, >> and that comes down to. >> long season still. We see how the. coaching comes. This is a good time to. do the coaching. Let's not give up yet. Okay. Let's not completely give up. >> Okay. Lafleur, we like Laflur. He has a. regular season coaching record of 7640.
and one. >> Yeah, that's pretty good. >> Okay. What's his. >> What is it without Rogers? >> Play offer. >> Well, >> without without an MVP on his team, what. is it? >> Well, and that's a whole fascinating. thing, too, because we we kind of hold. that against Stfansky with what happened. with Baker. Sure. Right. They had. success finally in Cleveland with a. quarterback and then seemingly that all. blows up. You get him out of town. somehow. >> And then with uh Aaron Rogers situation. in Green Bay, it's like they kind of. Right. Yeah. I mean, they were kind of. >> the floor was pretty much done with the. whole him and Gutkun were like, "All.
right, let's kind of we're done with. this thing. He's going into a dark hole. Is now the time? Yep. He's going to get. a thousand text messages. This guy's. going into a hole for a week. He's never. going to be able to know when or how we. did this. >> He gets out of the hole, scans through, sees the Hey, we're moving on. >> I was 60 70% retired coming out of that. hole. And then I was re right. Isn't. that what Aaron says? So, they choose to. move on from him. They are crowned as. geniuses. >> Okay. Crowned as geniuses. This is the. right move. Packers always get it right.
They draft before they're supposed to at. the most important position. They. develop. They do everything the right. way. This is what you're supposed to do. Now, it does feel like there comes a. time where they're going to have to pay. that off. You know, like the Packers. going to have to pay that off. That they. are the super geniuses that they were. all crowned for whenever they kicked. Aaron Rogers out of town. And maybe it. was the right move at the time in. theory, but you're only going to be. judged if you have success. And right. now, it appears in the NFC North, there's a lot of teams that are primed. for success. >> Yeah, for sure. And again, they're one. of those franchises where like the last. couple years like it's not good enough.
to get the last playoff seed and then go. get beat in the first round of the. playoffs every year. Like that just that. doesn't work. Some places that just. doesn't work. Some fan bases would love. to have that. Like are Packers fans. spoiled because of that maybe, but like. that's just the reality of the. situation. Like you can't sneak into the. playoffs and then get your ass beat in. the first round when you have all this. talent and the expectation is this team. is going to make a deep playoff run, especially when you have other teams in. your division who are the teams that are. beating you in the playoffs sometimes. >> All right. Well, we move away from that. skipper. to. >> our skipper.
>> Oh, yes. >> Hell yeah. >> Yes. >> Skipper. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Skip. >> And remember, I think there were some. things said about this man that should. have potentially been directed at the. entire classic. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Okay. My skip is my skip. Yeah. Your. skip. >> We traveled to go watch this skip skip. >> this country skip. >> multiple times. And tonight, MLB. Wildcard kicks off. and. >> 62. >> games led to this to see who could.
potentially hoist. >> the. >> Commissioner Trophy. >> Bingo. Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now, our skipper. >> Yeah. Host on MLB Network's The Hot. Stove every single morning. Ladies and. gentlemen, Mark the Roa. Sir, >> you're the best, man. You are the best. >> Thank you. A lot of people. >> know 162. You didn't know 162? >> I forgot if it was 182 or one I I I 62.
or 82 was the number. There was a. pingpong happening kind of games. >> 82 media day yesterday. >> By the way, by the way, real quick, I. had some cheese on on Philly last night. I am cold as ice in the early going of. the NFL season. >> Well, it's been. >> I thought that was. been tough. Yeah, you got to bet. responsibly. Make sure it's a. responsible amount of cheese. Don't be. an [ __ ] and ruin it for all of us. Okay, we need that to remain a thing. But you aren't the only one in the NFL. right now has been impossible to.
predict. Uh you have no idea who's going. to show up when what's the record of. teams that have getting blown out by at. least 20 points and then how they. perform the following week. So there's a. there's a stat right now early in this. season teams lose by 20 and then the. next week they are. >> so they're 6 and2 straight up 7-1. against the spread after losing by 20. >> So how the hell are we supposed to know? How the hell are we supposed to know? Dro, let's talk baseball. After 162. games, we know exactly who's who. MLB. Wildcard uh starts at 5:00 p.m. I do.
believe. >> 2 p.m. is the first game. >> Never mind. 2 p.m. Eastern. Phillies. verse the Braves. 5:00 pm hockey I. believe is starting tonight. NHL is. happening. I apologize. A lot of sports. Big sports Tuesday. So 2 p.m. we got the. Phillies in the Braves. Then White. Socks, Astros, Red Sox, Yankees, Cubs, Padres's. Do we all these teams have a. chance to win the World Series? Some of. these teams sneak in here and going to. get exposed. Like how should we view. wild card baseball and playoff baseball. as a whole, Dro? >> No. Everybody's got a puncher chance,
but I think the teams that are built. with depth. I mean, obviously the. Dodgers come to life. I love the way the. Brewers have played the entire season. I. need them to take a big step forward. this. Last year, they went into Dodger. Stadium and kind of got smacked around a. little bit. I think they want to write. the ship there. The Rays have been the. best team in the American League all. year, Pat. We'll see if it holds chalk. Whoever wins that Red Sox Yankee series. will have to go down to Tampa and take. them on. That place is you walk into the. Tropicana zone.
>> Yeah. Elite environment. Yes, it is. No, they they hit you with they put you in a. nice, you know, you're on the marina, you get a breakfast burrito, a nice base. tan, maybe take a dip in the pool, and. then you go into this dungeon and you. get wiped out by like five different. pitchers throwing 98 miles an hour. So, that's not a easy place to play, >> but we're going to get it going with. Philly Atlanta right out of the shoot. with Chris Sale on the bump. And I saw. your interview with him and he was. fantastic. You guys were riding me.
I was right. What do you mean we're. riding you? That's not true. >> He said take it easy on Dro. I heard. him. >> Well, you heard him stick up for you, which I respect. I'm looking for people. sticking up for me as well across the. board. I I understand where you are. coming from there. But yeah, he wasn't a. part of team USA, you know. He wasn't a. part of team USA and he's having a great. a great season this year, you know, and. it's not on you, Dro. We've all learned. >> I asked Chris Sale, I walked right up to. him in Northport in spring training. I. said, "You in?" He goes, "Ah, man. I I I.
don't think I. >> But also that World Baseball Classic, I. think they're going to have to move that. thing. I I think uh there's going to be. some conversations about that. I think. you took some unwarranted shots, which. we all understand now. But let's talk. about wildcard baseball and let's talk. about playoff baseball. You talk about. the Rays. It's the Rays, Brewers, Dodgers, and. >> Guardians.". >> Guardians, that's three smaller market, not massive payroll teams, right? and. Dodgers are.
>> right. Is that good for baseball? This. is good for baseball going forward if. the if who's the lowest you. >> I think the Guardians are the lowest. payroll in the league if I'm not. mistaken. Dro, you can correct me on. that if I'm wrong, but I saw a graphic. this morning. I'm pretty sure. >> I think it speaks to doing more with. less. You know, I I I really do. I look. at the Tampa Bay Rays and I look at the. Milwaukee Brewers. They use their their. entire 26-man roster to get it done. There's no egos. There's the occasional.
superstar spattered in there. They both. have true number ons. They both have. weaponry in the bullpen. They can beat. you with defense, base running, a little. bit of small ball. So, they have a. variety of ways to beat you as opposed. to when you turn on the Yankees Red Sox. series tonight. It's going to be 80%. 6'5 on the mound, fast balls down your. throat, and who's going to run into one. is what's going to be the deciding. factor in that series where when you. take on the Milwaukee Brewers or a Tampa.
Bay Rays, somebody like that, they come. in with a game plan to attack you a. little bit differently and exposure. flaws. >> So, the big salary caps are the big. bullpens, big hitters. So, we got gas. across the board. Whenever we talk to. Skip Murphy, >> Yeah. from the Brewers and we brought up like. old school baseball. Is that how you. feel you play? And he goes, I don't. think that's how we play. I think we. just play baseball how we have to play. We understand the who we are and how. we're built. But that means we're trying. to get a couple hits. We're trying to. get on base. We're trying to work.
counts, right? We're trying to throw. ball. Not that um uh Miz is doing that. But pitching mostly coming in, we're. working baseball like as opposed to we. got ace ace ace coming in just to. absolutely kill and we got home run. hitters across the board. That's the. difference between big salary and small. salary teams. Is that is that basically. what you would say? >> I think I I think that's a fair. statement. I I think the great t teams. try and turn themselves into the Brewers.
or Rays with superstar type players. >> with better with more talented players. so to speak. >> But I I it doesn't mean that's. necessarily going to win the day. I I I. just look at the Milwaukee Brews and you. look at the postseason as a whole, usually it comes down to someone. blasting one because the pitching's so. intense, right? You're going to have. matchups. You're seeing with the Yankees. roster, John Carlo hasn't taken a live. AB since August 24th. >> What gives anybody the reason to believe.
that he could potentially step in the. box five, six months later and run into. one? But he's on the Yankees roster for. one reason. he will come up with a big. spot against an Aldis Chapman with one. shot to either punch out or go deep. That's why he's on the roster. So, we'll. see if that takes place where the. Milwaukee Brewers are going to attack. you a little bit differently. They're. going to try and work counts. Now, don't. get me wrong, they still have stars. Jackson Cheerio is one of the best. players in the National League. William.
Contrarus, these guys can shoot you, but. they're going to attack it a little. differently supporting castwise. I like. that we got baseball on display it feels. like throughout the entire playoffs. Now, you mentioned John Carlo. There's. another name noticeably absent there. from the Yankees. Go ahead, Ty. >> Yeah, Dro, how big of a deal do you. think it is that Judge isn't on the uh. the the roster for the Wildard series? I. mean, I think personally, I mean, this. is me, this is a little biased, but I. think the Yankees have the best pitching. rotation in the majors, which is why.
they are definitely a team who could win. the World Series. But we know they. struggle against lefties. the Red Sox. are going to throw two lefties if we get. to a game three. Like, how big of a deal. is it that Judge isn't going to be in. the lineup for any of these games? >> It certainly, Ty, I think it's a huge. deal just because, you know, you can. make the argument he's the best hitter. in the sport, but he didn't look good. when he first came back. It's his right. calf. If he could have gone, I think he. would have forced the issue to be put on. this roster. I actually think it makes.
Boon's job a little bit easier. knowing that because if if Judge was. going to be on the roster, you were. going to want him in right field because. you want Gold Schmidt in there against. the lefty. You're not taking Ben Rice. out. There's just not enough positions. for these guys to kind of handle. >> So, I think it makes Boon's job a little. bit easier. I would say if I'm Boon. right now, he's trying to steal this. series and get Judge off his feet for. four days and then bring him back. hopefully against the Rays and he's.
healthy and can play a little bit of. right field for him. Let's talk about. stealing the series. Go ahead, Boston. Connor. >> Yeah, Dro, we saw you this morning. talking about basically everyone's. favorite pitcher, you know, paying Tuli. for the Boston Red Sox. Him on the bump. today. What do you think the Red Sox. have to do? Ty mentioned the lefties. kind of going for Boston, take advantage. of that uh thing for the Yankees that. they can't do, which is hit against. them. What do you see from this series? And you think Boston has a real shot to. win the whole damn thing? >> I'd need to see Wilson Contrarus and.
feel good about him. I'd like to see him. roast something in a gap or go deep and. and and make me feel good about his hand. and how he's going to be a force in the. lineup. Listen, Boston M I think the. last team the Yankees really wanted to. see in the wild card round of the Boston. Red Sox. >> I really do. I mean, with Toli and you. got Crochet going to the bullpen and. Ranger Suarez has been an absolute. monster. Look at his postseason numbers. So if it goes to game three, he. certainly won't be intimidated taking. the rock in Yankee Stadium.
Ti's had a ton of success. I know. Schlitler has against the Red Sox as. well. >> What is it 15 and one teams that win. game one? I think I think that certainly. holds true in this series, you know. >> So I'd like to see Payton give you some. length tonight. >> Hold on. So whoever wins tonight, it's. over 15. Listen, it's not over, but the the you. know, the analytics say you steal game. one, it's looking great.
>> I'm not a huge analytics guy. I kind of. like the um you know, unless it's a. 100enter. I I would like to believe this. almost is, huh? This sounds like it. Over the last five Wild Wildcross years, the game one winner has gone on to win. the series. 21 of 20 88% is a pretty. high percent. >> Yeah, it is. >> Travel, right? And the same. >> Yeah. All I need. Wow. >> Short series. >> Huge night tonight. >> Huge huge night. >> Huge huge day tonight.
>> Huge, my friend. >> Huge. IT'S WILDCORE. >> THAT'S WHY YOU PLAY ON HIM. >> MY onebedroom apartment tonight. Hair on. fire. We're going to be in a three-point. stance watching all four games. >> I like that for you, Dro. That's why. you're our skip. That's why you're our. skip. Okay, let's talk a little bit more. about the entirety of the postseason. Go. ahead, Darius. Yeah, I want to ask you. about the deepest bullpin just overall, but actually being big as this game is. tonight, I was surprised. I'm a. Christopher Sanchez fan. Who is the ace?
Who is the ace out there in Philly? Is. it Willer? Is it Sanchez? Is Lazar? Who. is it? >> All right, here we go. You ready for as. I broke this one down, this this series. will come down to how good Christopher. Sanchez is in game two. Cuz the way I. look at it right now, game one, you'd. have to think Chris Sales got the upper. hand against a potential bullpen. We. don't know what Lazardo is going to give. us lengthwise, right? So Donnie Baseball. might be in a situation here where if. he's down by four or five runs late in. this game, he might have to use like.
kind of his belist relievers and almost. I don't want to say punt it but move on. to game two and it'll all be on the back. of Christopher Sanchez cuz if it if and. when it goes to game three, Zack. Wheeler's never pitched on short rest. before. >> and as good as he's been, you're going. to want all your horses behind him to. try and win game three. So the money's. the money is and the pressure is on. Sanchez game two in that series for me. >> The money and Donnie baseball are kind.
of spinning it out there. We got short. rest for a guy. Yeah, he did. He I guess. did you do this this morning on the hot. stove? >> The MLB central. >> Oh, which also features. >> Hot stove's coming up. It's coming up in. December. We're going to have hot stove. >> That's like free agency. Detective Dro. still going. >> Yeah. Well, I think. >> I see a flame around a stove and then I. I see you doing your thing, don't I? Ain't that what I see on the TV? >> Probably at one point. Yes.
>> Occasionally. That's a Sean Casey bit. >> That's. our hitting coach. >> Skip. >> That's our skip. >> And also, a guy needs to shut his. trapper around 2 3:00 a.m. after a big. World Baseball flash. Okay. Sean Casey's got too many stories. That's why they call him the mayor. The. guy was friends with everybody. Well, maybe in a World Baseball Classic, Sean, let's keep some to ourselves. Let's. create new stories out there. >> Get us some hits, Case.
>> Uh Sean Casey doing incredible work back. in Pittsburgh, by the way. Casey's. Clubhouse, taking care of the community, which we appreciate so much. Him and. David Allen, I think, raised. >> overund some thousand last weekend in a. in a fashion show. I mean, it was a uh. >> it's cool stuff. We love Sean Casey. Then we hear the story. >> Oh, yeah. The boys rolling for 7 hours. The boys didn't get out of the clubhouse. until 6:30 a.m. after a massive win over. Lithuan. >> Yeah, I heard I heard it was a. fantastic. Okay, let's talk about.
another team. Obviously, we're all. excited about Slam Diego time. Go ahead, Tone. >> Yeah, Dro. Actually, I think this is as. far as like fireworks and runs are. concerned. I think this is probably. going to be the most exciting wild card. series. Uh you correct me if you think. I'm wrong on that one. That's Cubs and. Padres's. I looked over the last 30. days, the Padres's have the best batting. average uh in the MLB. They have guys. that can hit home runs at every spot. And then you have PCA on the other side, the the MVP, the 4040 man himself. What's your thought on this series? >> It's going to be a tough series for the.
Cubbies to steal. If it was in Wrigley, I would lean their way. I think PCO. minimizes a little bit of the Cubs slug. Park plays a lot bigger than Wrigley. Field. Um Michael King doesn't get. enough love. He'll to he'll tow a slab. for San Diego. They have arguably the. deepest and best bullpen so they can. shorten games with Mason Miller on the. back end. >> But I'm interested to see as this series. goes two, three games like Nick Paveet. is probably going to be your game two.
starter for San Diego. Their starting. rotation outside of Michael King kind of. limped to the finish. Nick Paveet coming. back from injury. So pitching wise, can. the Cubbies expose the depth of San. Diego at some point in this series? But. I agree with you. San Diego is a scary. team because their stars have been. starring down the stretch. Tatis Machado. Merrell been hot. >> Clear skies. See every star out there. Especially when the Stars be starring. and when the Stars are starring in.
Chicago, it's a beautiful thing. Shout. out to PCA. Obviously big fan of that. entire team, but also on the south side. Can you tell me a little bit about. Moonshot of Takamorami and the White. Socks boys having a great time, a great. celebration? Are they a team of. >> Dan? >> You want to talk about a puncher's. chance, Pat? Here it is with the White. Socks, right? Because. >> I like that. >> the depth of the rotation and bullpen. will get exposed in a long series. So, how do you cover that up with Murakami.
hitting you a big three-run bomb. somewhere along the lines? that. ballpark, balls will fly out of Houston. So, I do think this is one of the series. that it will come down to one or two big. swings. I think the White Sox steal this. series on the back of a couple big like. like I said like a Murakami, a Coulson. Montgomery runs into one somewhere along. that line. So yeah, I like the White. Socks punchers chance to get out of the. wild card, but I don't think whoever. wins this series going up against the.
Guardians and their rotation and depth. I think they're going to have a tough. time. >> The teams will separate themselves is. what you're saying in this particular. sport of baseball where rosters can be. pieced together, but people can get hot. Cinderella stories can happen. And if it. is the Japanese man moonshot Morakami in. the Chicago White Socks, we will. celebrate the hell out of that. They be. stroking over there. They be stroking. They really be stroking and West. >> and uh they might be stroked the best to. be honest with you. We shall see. Dro,
you're the man. We appreciate you, brother. >> Oh, you're the best, man. I missed you. guys. I'll see you later. >> You're the best. We would like it to be. known that our skipper here. Got a text. about 10 minutes before the show went. live. Said, "Hey, can you join us about. 25 minutes to talk baseball?" He goes, "Absolutely. You love the sport. Obviously, you love MLB as a whole, and. we love the fact that you do that for. us. We appreciate you, Skip. >> Love you, Skip. Enjoy today, >> ladies and gentlemen. That's Marty Rosa. >> Dro, >> Marty Dro,
>> take me home. >> I just heard that when you guys said. Dro, you got a little country roads in. there. I'll tell you, we're going to. have to win the World Baseball Classic. for us to do a full song and remix of. that. But, uh, I think he's on his way. It might be the World Baseball Classic. that you guys have been wanting to blame. as opposed to just Dro. >> Oh, yeah. I've come around on that big. time. But Dro is such a good sport about. it and he's hilarious of kind of. defending himself that it was kind of. like, well, let's just keep kind of. peppering Dro and see what creative. stuff he can come up with to defend.
himself. >> Well, it's Donnie baseball and he did. come up with creative stuff. >> He emptied the clip on MLB baseball. phrases during towing the slab, just. everything. Running into one, a piss. missile to the gap, all of it. >> Yeah. So, we're around a hockey guy on a. regular basis now. Um, and he unloads. the hockey clip every time I'm around. them. >> I'll tell you, he can talk a dog off a. meat truck. Hey, I started dying. laughing. I'm like, I've never heard. that before. And then there's just. another one right after a little.
heavyhanded there. You know, like this. guy is uh absolutely hysterical. Those. cultures that are around each other a. lot, like baseball is on the road. Those. guys live on the road. Hockey lives on. the road and in the training room. They. get like a week and a half off, then. they're back in there again. I feel like. that is a good place to just start a lot. of the chirps that never end. That's why. I'm excited that NHL hockeyy's back and. hockey players are a little bit more. exposed to the public. I think the more. we learn, the better the hockey culture. is going to be viewed by people and. baseball the same. After going out there.
and watching Team USA and meeting the. guys, they got a lot of bros out there. They got a lot of good dudes in. baseball. They have the same hockey. mindset where this isn't about me. I'm. going to get beat down. I'm going to. fail a lot. I'm just trying to get by. and all that. But you got a lot of good. dudes in these sports. Hopefully we. continue to get to showcase them and uh. shout out to the playoffs starting for. baseball and shout out to Annie Chelsea. and dropping puck at 5:00 today. Joining. us now is a man who is uh one of the. faces of the number two sport in United. States of America, college football. He's a host of College Game Day and.
every week this season, he has joined us. for Reese's Pieces from the weekend with. Reese Davis. >> How you doing Ree? Thank you for joining. us brother. Tom, pleased to be with you. guys. I enjoyed listening to Mark D. Rosa, man. That guy's that guy's great. I loved watching him as a player. He's. fun. >> That's what you got. Baseball in the. family, right? The boy plays a lot of. baseball. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My son's still. playing. Still banging around in the. independent leagues. So, yeah. We're out. there all all off season. Yeah. Or all.
off season for football, I should say. >> I'll tell you what, good idea. complimenting Dro there because from the. sounds of it, I don't know if any major. league guys are going to be playing in. that World Baseball Classic going. forward. We might have a little Reese. Davis out there. We need him, too. We. need him in there. Okay, let's turn to. college football. Massive weekend um. coming up here. We're heading to Iowa. City for College Game Day's first visit. in 20 years. We'll be there live on. Friday. The slate. Before we look back. at what you've learned from before, can.
you tell me a little bit about Ohio. State, Iowa, and then Alabama, Mississippi State becoming an absolute. thriller at noon down there with two. young quarterbacks that could be the. future of the entire league. Feels like. we're in a really good spot, especially. with this weekend. Ree, >> it is a great way to start the second. month of the season. You sort of set the. foundation September in those two games. that you mentioned. I mean, Tai's ball. club has two walk-off wins already, including the one that I mean, I I can't.
wait to ask Kirk Barren, what was the. play call if you hadn't had the injury. because they could they didn't have time. to spike it. You have to have three. seconds to spike it and run another. play. Want to know if if it was the same. play call that ended up being the. touchdown pass to Vander Iowa with a two. walk-off wins. If they win this game, Pat, look at that schedule the rest of. the way. Not that there aren't good. teams on it, but I didn't see I didn't. see Oregon in there. I didn't see UCLA. who's playing great. This is a real.
opportunity for the Hawkeyes, man. Huge. opportunity. >> You heard Ty You heard Ty just sneak in. there, Ree? He goes, "No Indiana. either." Yeah, you're saying no. >> No Indiana. That's right, Ty. No. Indiana. >> Yeah, he's pretty pumped. >> At least until maybe in Indianapolis. That's what I'm talking about. That's. what I'm talking about. >> We just had to secure our tickets last. week for that. Certainly the Big 10. championship is a great time and I think. a nice showcase of certainly the last. three national champions have come. through there. The SEC though seemingly.
a bit deeper. Those young lads that I. talked about there, the Alabama, Mississippi State, I mean you're talking. real ball players and uh you know Nick. Sabin made a joke. >> Okay, couple of them. >> about Kamario Taylor. If I was uh. coaching now, I'd be trying to figure. out how to get him into the transfer. portal. He made a joke is what he made. >> He can't joke like that. >> I know he's Nick Sabin. I know he's not. allowed to do that. He is a TV. personality though. So, he is trying to. make things entertaining and he's. talking about what I think probably a.
lot of college football coaches are. thinking as they watch there. And then I. said, I'll give this guy 10 million. coming West Virginia. I believe I I. immediately followed up. That's reality. But Mississippi State's not thinking. like that. And I don't think Kamario is. thinking like that at all. What I'm. thinking is they're all the way back for. at least the next three years with this. guy. And then Keelin Russell, same exact. thing. Two young special talents. Game. day certainly could have gone down. there. I think if it wasn't for us being. at the SEC the first three, four weeks, however many was it all kind of blends. together and then us having to show love. here to Iowa hosting a massive one in.
the Big 10. I think that definitely. would have been on the docket to head. down to Mississippi State for that. Alabama Mississippi State game. How do you describe the future of those. two programs? Es let's they're staying. there obviously, but that is a huge. thing to have if you're one of their fan. bases this early in the season to know. like, hey, next couple years feels like. we're in a great spot. Reese Davis, >> I think it's really easy to look at. those two guys and it's really early and. we've seen quarterbacks fall off this. year. And now that I've offered that.
disclaimer, would you really think I was. crazy if we looked ahead to the 2028. draft and said those were the first two. guys take? I mean, both of them have. every trait you would want. If there's. only one program in the country that. wouldn't be glad to muster together 10. million to try to lure Kamario into the. portal, it'd be Alabama. They've got. their guy. And you know, I would say I. would say this because I can't joke. either sometimes about stuff like that. The great thing about Kamario, he's a.
local guy. Grew up loving Mississippi. State. Parents are fans. Uncle played. there. I I I don't think he's going to. be lured away. And And plus, State's got. States's got access to cash. He's going. to be around the next couple of years. And when you can build around a. quarterback like that, I agree with you. 100%. They're going I don't know if. they're good enough and deep enough to. win the SEC, but they're going to have a. pro or be a problem and they're going to. have a say in who does over the next. couple of years for sure. Maybe they can.
build around him by next year and do. something special. >> Great environment. I think they just. broke a record for the amount of. cowbells and the sound of it or. whatever. And you have an electrifying. player like that. I think that helps get. people to come join you. It's just like. the NFL. If you have a great quarterback. or something special that's easier to. recruit, I assume that's going to. continue to happen. and Hardy, you know, Mississippi State guy, right? >> He needs to open up. He platinum record. after platinum record after platinum. record. Go and help that roster. I think. he already has. I think plenty of others. have as well because obviously they've. seen the success of Old Miss. Let's go.
ahead and start dancing. They might have. their guy. Congrats to them. Okay, let's. talk about this past weekend. Let's dive. into some Reese's pieces. What's your. big takeaway from this past weekend of. college football, Ree? biggest takeaway was from the game where. we were Pat the Texas Tennessee game. You have no choice but to rank Texas. number one. They have the best win in. the sport beating Ohio State and they. won in that environment. But I'm not. convinced that they're necessarily the. best team. Now maybe they will be by the. end. What they've done defensively has.
been really impressive. The 10 sacks. against Tennessee. They held Jeremiah. Smith might be the best player in the. sport without a catch in the fourth. quarter against Ohio State. in that. comeback win. So, they've got room to. grow, but I need to see before I decide. that they are the best team. They are. the favorite to win the championship. They are truly elite. I need to see a. little more consistency and. explosiveness out of their offense. It. would help if they could run the ball a. little bit better. So, I'm not sure that.
there's a great team yet. We've got two. more months for teams to grow. I'm just. not sure. Texas on defense looks like. it's headed that way. I need to see more. out of Texas offense. That was a big. takeaway from that one. The other big. takeaway I had was another SEC game. And. I I know what people are going to think. Florida and Miss I still think because. of Trinidad Chamblas that miss might win. the whole thing. They have Trinidad and. you don't. But Florida's real. I mean, they're real real. Because when Trinidad.
started doing Trinidad things and. getting them on the cusp of a comeback. and you thought, "Oh, here he comes.". Florida answered the way it's answered. all year. They run the football right. through your face. They don't care if. you know. They they come and they punch. you right in the mouth with that running. game. They did it to Auburn and they did. it to Old Miss. And you know, I think. they're going to be they've got Texas. and Georgia coming up. You better you. better strap them up tight when you play. summer's team because they are going to. hit you and they're going to run the. football. They might have some.
deficiencies on defense. So, I'm really. I think Florida's around for the long. haul. And probably the other thing, this. sort of falls into what we were talking. about with Tai and Iowa. There are some. teams lurking around in college. football, a little bit quiet so far. And. you're going to find out just how good. they are coming up in the next few. weeks. Iowa is one you're going to find. out Saturday. I've been really impressed. with what Bob Chznney is doing at UCLA. Um, you take Iowa, you take UCLA, you.
even take Nebraska, who's going to get. Indiana in a couple of weeks. And we we. may have some sneaky teams that give the. Big 10 the type of depth that everybody. has been saying, well, the Big 10's good. at the top, but what about the middle? What about the upper middle class? UCLA's got Oregon coming up over the. next couple of weeks. Maybe those teams. are pretty good and give it some depth. in the Big 10, too. >> Yeah, Chzn comes from JMU. does have a. signetti style to him. Has 11 JMU.
players I believe currently on UCLA who. can run the ball, can win games all of a. sudden out of nowhere. And I think UCLA, if they were able to show some success, they have alum that have that would. potentially get inv I I think they're. just a group of people that need to be. shown, hey, we need to be shown that you. can at least be a competent bunch here. and maybe win some games. And with. what's happening with USC, you know, with football, how a lot of big hype, a. lot of big conversation, nobody at the. opening game, okay, because it was hot.
at that thing, it was very hot. It's. like UCLA with their alum in Los Angeles. with a coach that's seemingly very. competent and has a style that can. travel in Big 10 football as well, cuz. they can run. It's like maybe UCLA. becomes and spawns into a team that is. for real in the Big 10, even though. nobody could have predicted it. Now, there is an SEC team that people are uh. kind of judging pretty harshly all of a. sudden. Go ahead, Tom. >> Yeah, Reese. People are pissed that. Missou is still a top 25 team. I'm not. sure if you've seen that on the. internet. They have they've been a top.
25 team, I think 32 out of 39 weeks, but. they're only 1 and 10 against uh ranked. teams. And then you have teams like, you. know, Virginia Tech and Pit who play. this week who who aren't in Nebraska, who you just mentioned. Um, now they. haven't played a lot of those teams. haven't played anyone yet still. But. what are your thoughts on the SEC and. people being mad about the the bottom of. the SEC teams like Missou and them being. ranked still? >> Uh, I think Missouri is a pretty good. team. I think they really let one get. away or maybe they had it taken away. from them by Kamario the other night.
Um, you know, I I'd have I don't I. considered putting them late in my. ballot still, but they haven't beaten. anybody of note. I think it's probably. more appropriate to, you know, like Duke. is another team that I think should be. in there. >> So maybe that maybe you look at a team. like Missouri and I'm not sure they're a. top 25 club. They're fringe. I don't. think it's egregious if people rank. them, but I don't think it's a, you. know, it's beyond the realm to leave. them out either. They're an average.
team. They're pretty good. Chance to get. better. got a shot at Florida this week. But, you know, I think any team like. that in that middle class group from the. SEC that gets the benefit of the doubt. from the pollsters is going to going to. get some reaction. Pat, I looked up. something you asked in the meeting on. Friday and it's a a rough number, but. the number of voters in the AP poll that. are outside the SEC footprint, at least. in terms of where they work right now, is right around 60, I think 68% or so.
kind of a rough number looking up. >> Okay, that's a good first of all, thank. you for getting that answer because that. that I did wonder. I'm like because the. defense is always look how many ranked. teams are in the SEC. It's like well. who's doing the ranking? I I would like. to know who's doing the ranking to know. who thinks that these are the best. teams. 68% outside the SEC. Okay. >> Yeah. It doesn't mean you know it. doesn't mean some of those might not. have some SEC ties in some way like you. know I do. You know I work for ESPN. and. I went to school in Alabama, but. generally speaking, where they work, you.
know, is like about 68% right now. outside of that footprint. >> Okay. >> It's a good question. >> Speaking of voting, yeah, DBud has a. question for you. >> Journalism right there. Uh, you you. talked about Texas. Obviously, you said. they have to be number one right now, but I've been asking you every week and. I ask you again, you've had Notre Dame. up there as your number one team. Who is. your number one team now as we head into. week five? I well I had miss last week ranked there. and I ranked Texas number one because I. felt like I had no choice. I wanted to.
honor the accomplishment and no one has. accomplished what they have up to this. point. I still think the best team is. probably from among the group as we sit. here right now that are completely. unproven in terms of who they played. this year. Miami, Georgia, Notre Dame, uh Indiana, you know, are among the. teams that, you know, maybe we're going. to look at that win over Northwestern. from the other night. Maybe Northwestern. has a really good year. Uh Wisconsin. after its great win against Penn State, we might decide that was a pretty good.
win for Notre Dame, but at the moment, they really haven't accomplished. anything. So, I feel like you have to. rank Texas number one that we're at. least a month into the season. If a team. has accomplished something, you need to. honor that. And Texas is talented. Texas. may prove to be the best team at the. end. I just don't look at them right now. and say, "Man, that's a juggernaut." You. know, that's going to just uh run. through everybody, but they have the. potential to improve and everybody. everybody has that opportunity. >> I think they have a lot of dogs on that.
team. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yep. >> From my understanding, there there are. dogs across the board on that team. Just. >> Oh, yeah. >> Everywhere on that team, dogs. which. leads to number two team in the AP, >> Georgia. Yeah. >> Which we obviously all think have dogs. across the board. And also Gunner is. playing better football at quarterback. than he's played since we met him. >> the first time in a big uh I'm sorry in. the SEC championship game. I think. whenever he got completely airborne, knocked out on like one of the first. runs. >> by we saw last night. >> Yeah, we saw last night. Okay. Yes.
That's the first time we saw Gunner. We. heard his name was Gunner and he's. Georgia Bulldog and he's a damn good dog. and we're like, "Wow, this guy might be. the perfect bulldog.". >> And then it hadn't really, right? Back-to-back SEC champs. Is that good? I. don't know. You tell me. Haven't won a. national championship though. So, failure for Kirby and for Georgia. And. then now he's allegedly playing. quarterback better than ever, completing. every single pass. He still's got he. still has this. And Kirby has a bunch of. guys from within his program who have. kind of developed into this team that.
they are now as opposed to just like. buying a team that a lot of people are. doing. Not that he didn't buy the. recruits. Correct. >> Let's not get it crazy. But he did build. them up through the system. >> So I I mean it's hard not to just get. excited about the potential of Kirby. having a team that is not really being. respected and having a quarterback. that's playing the best he's played. >> I mean I think we'll find out. >> He's number two in the A people. Just. what you're saying about a. >> No, no. I'm saying two for sure. But I I. still I think they're getting their. respect. But you talking about respect. I mean Reese had miss number one. Everybody has Wad as the best.
quarterback. What Florida did. So I know. you kind of got to rerank these things. every. >> say people aren't respecting Florida. >> I mean eight I think eight is a good. spot but if they go and beat the [ __ ]. out of Missouri again this weekend. I. mean. >> and there's a chance that's going to. happen. Missouri against ranked teams. not that great uh over the last 10. I. think it's like one and nine or. something is the stat that's coming out. Now, I will say, Ree, we do not have an. AP vote in the Thunderdome. We do not. have one of those. Uh, but we do have an. above average poll every single week.
And right and Tone put his above average. poll uh together today. Guess who he has. on top of his poll? Ree, >> I'm gonna I'm gonna guess he's got. Florida. >> REESE DAVIS KNOWS HIS. knows Tones Paul, doesn't he? Tone, you. got Florida, Iowa, Georgia. How did you. piece your poll together this morning? >> Yeah, Ree, uh, if you don't know, I kind. of do like a who won the weekend with. also a cumulative from the entire year.
so far. Florida was by far the by far. the winner of the weekend for me, beating your number one team in Miss uh, in the swamp. Just just absolutely like. you talked about just bruising running. the football. Buster Fauln Falner just. so much eye candy, so many things. is. awesome to see what him and Aaron Pho. are doing after coming from Georgia. Tech. And then I put Iowa in there as my. second winner from the weekend. It's. also undefeated on the season. Just an. absolute huge win. Now they host uh Ohio. State coming to Iowa City. And then yes,
Georgia hasn't played anyone yet, but. they have looked damn good not playing. anyone. So, you know, I have them. lurking down there at the bottom. And I. can't wait to see I believe they go to. Tuscaloosa next weekend. So, that'll be. an interesting one as well. >> A little swampy pole here. First time. we've seen that. Remember this is an. above average poll because it's not too. far removed, but we're not all the way. in every locker room either. Not an. actual AP vote. Just tones above average. poll. Congrats to. >> Reese knowing his uh.
>> Reese knows. >> Yeah, Reese pretty doubted. Let me. guess, the [ __ ] went with Florida. >> Yes, actually Ree, that is 100% uh true. out the team second there on the above. average poll. The Iowa Hawkeyes last. play magic to get a huge dub and Iowa. boy catches that. And now College Game. Day returns. Ty has a question for you. >> Yeah, Ree, you mentioned on the College. Game Day podcast that you you weren't. necessarily rooting against Michigan, but that you wanted Iowa to win because.
you want what's whatever's best for game. day. And I think you probably knew that. if Iowa were to win that game day would. be going back to Iowa City. What are. your expectations for the show on. Saturday? It hasn't been there in 20. years. And obviously last time they did. go, you weren't the host of the show. Fowler was. So, what are your. expectations for uh Saturday in Iowa. City? >> Well, I think it's going to be awesome. I've seen some shots of where we're. going to be set up. And one of the. things that I mentioned to our director. Joe is that I might want to do scene set. and sort of try to recreate, you know,
the swarm. you know, the way that that. your ball club comes out, you know, arms. locked together right there to sort of. walk out uh with with a rhythmic. intensity instead of just storming out. And uh and Joe told me, he said, "There. going to be way too many people there. for you to move." He said, "You're not. going to he might be able to recreate. it, but you guys aren't going to be able. to move forward. It's going to be too uh. it's going to be too crowded." So, I. can't wait to to get there. I've been. there and called basketball games there,
but I've never been there for a football. game. So, I I can't I'm going to stick. around for the game. Can't wait to uh. experience Kenik Stadium and it's going. to be it's going to be a lot of fun on. Saturday. I can't wait. >> Yeah, we are pumped to get over there. I. had a chance to experience a game day. whenever we were doing the Barsttow. tailgate show. >> Took the train in, did the show live. from my house. No service cuz the amount. of humans that were in. >> No sound either. Well, there was no. sound on that particular show, but I. think that is be and we did a pretty. good pretty good I think optically show,
but no, but we didn't know that there. was no sound, but it was the amount of. humans that were just kind of dispersed. everywhere. Do we know where the game. day set's going to be yet? Do we do we. know that? >> I Yes, he showed me. I can't remember. the name of it. Uh Ty, you might be able. to help me. The starts with a Prestio. That's what I want to say. What is it? >> The Pentac. >> The Pentac. That's exactly right. >> Right in front of the old. sent me. I assume that's where we're. putting it. >> Okay. So, that's in front of the old. capital. Where is that? Is that on. campus? >> That's on campus. That's the Pentacest.
is like the middle of campus where all. like the four major buildings where like. most of the undergrads have like. lectures and stuff like that. So, if. they're doing it on the Pentacrist and. not on the other side of the river near. the stadium, there are going to be so. many people there. Yeah. Eric Grace got. a phone. >> So, that's the that's the old Yeah, that's the old capital in the background. right there. I used to walk up and down. that every single day going to class. So, like there will be. >> that's going to be rocking. That's. awesome that it's there. >> We're going to be out there on Friday. Can't wait to see you back on campus, Ty. >> I'm excited.
>> Yeah, I know you are certainly. And then. obviously, College Game Day 9:00 a.m. from Iowa City as another Saturday slate. of magic kicks off for college football. We appreciate the hell out of you, Ree. >> Likewise, fellas. Always good to be with. you. Have a great day. >> Ladies and gentlemen, Reese Davis. >> Reese. >> So, you're telling me Dro Show isn't the. hot sto? He he gets he gets into the hot. stove a decent amount. He does, >> man. >> There's definitely a portion of the year.
where it is the hot stove and he'll be. cooking on the hot stove non-stop. >> Yeah, it feels like he's always cooking. on a hot plate. >> Donnie baseball comes over. I do a. little lasagna. >> So Italian. right out of the gate. I lost a good bit. of cheese on the pizza. >> We're back on the other side. Be a good. friend. Be you. See you then.
We have an opportunity to give away. $75,000. to a giving name Daniel Vor. >> Absolutely. >> You're a sophomore, correct? >> Yeah. >> What is your major? >> Civil engineering. >> Okay. So, what's that mean? What is. civil engineering? >> Uh, I don't really know. >> Have you ever kicked a ball before? I. have. I have. >> Wayne, were you a soccer player? >> Soccer player? Yeah. >> Okay. How were you a kicking soccer. ball? It's pretty good. >> I was okay. I was good. >> Have you ever said anything negative. about football kickers?
>> Maybe once or twice. >> DANIEL. DAMN, DANIEL. WE DON'T NEED. THAT. YOU MAKE A FIELD GOAL HERE from 33. yards uphill. You're the civil engineer. You'd have to tell me. I think it's. about a 40 yard kick. If you're able to. do that, we will give you $75,000. >> All right. >> He's got no laces. >> Yeah. What do we got going here? Can we. get Can we get a shot of shoes? >> What time? Hey, >> get a shot of the shoes. >> Daniel showed up in his vans with no. races. What time did you get here for. this? >> About 11:40 last night. >> Need a lot of power.
>> Good luck, Daniel. >> I'm not feeling it. NOT FEELING IT. JUST LIKE EVERYTHING THIS MORNING. THAT. WAS a surprise. We did not expect that. >> We got to do one more. >> One more kick. >> for $100,000.
>> You got this, dude. >> Let's go. >> How about this, Daniel? How about this, Daniel? Not only is this one for. $100,000, if you make it, we'll add. another $100,000 to the $500,000. donation we're about to make from. college game day to the hurricane. relief. It could be 600,000 if you make. this with a h 100,000 going into your. pocket. Daniel, this is bigger than you. LET'S MAKE A KICK. >> WAY to overcome the shoes here. That was. a heck of an effort.
>> Come on. You got this. >> In Berkeley, California. >> You got it. GOT. YOU, BUDDY. >> Hell yeah. >> Great job. >> Damn, Daniel. Damn, Daniel.
>> Are you kidding me? 1140 he was there. 600. >> The following program is a collection of. stooges talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic.
informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans in the real. world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further. >> Hey, let's go. This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful.
>> On the line with a gorgeous assist, >> the alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers, you. stop. >> Damn it. >> Your friend, tell a friend something. nice could change their life. >> Hello, beautiful people, and welcome. back to our humble abode, The DraftKings. Thunder. on this big sports Tuesday, September. 29th, 2026. Hour of the program begins.
now. >> FOOTBALL IS THE GREATEST. And uh last. night, Case Keenum. sliced and diced the Philadelphia Eagles. defense to a slaughtering 277 dub for. Ben Johnson in the Bears at home in. front of an electrifying Soldier Field. Obviously, you know you're in history. when you're in there. And what the. Chicago Bears were able to do last night. was pretty historic. QB3 for the Chicago.
Bears just a couple weeks ago comes in a. Ben Johnson offense against a. Philadelphia Eagles defense led by Vic. Fangio, a team that has won a Super Bowl. in the past and is uh loaded across the. board and picks them apart. They were. innovative. >> They were fast. >> They were strong. >> They were cerebral. They were quick. >> Why? >> They were calculated. >> They. were beating the hell out of the Eagles. from the opening kick. Now, obviously,
there was a goal line stand whenever. they made a bad decision on what. particular play. And if you know, old. buddy uh Rome catches that ball, it's a. whole different conversation. Maybe four. touchdowns for Case Kingdom on Monday. Night Football against the Philadelphia. Eagles. But instead, it stays close and. then in the second half, the Bears put. him away. Basically, Ben Johnson, I. don't know what he said at halftime. I. don't know what the messaging was. I. don't know what the boys started to buy. in and believe to, but in the second. half, this Bears team just said, "You. know what? Yeah, we are a much better.
team than this team, and our quarterback. is playing better quarterback than. anybody on their team, including Andy. Dalton, who threw a pick on the 2yd line. after they drove 95 yards from their own. three. What a win. What a night for the. Bears. What a time for the NFL as the. Chicago Bears seemingly all the way back. for the foreseeable future, maybe the. next 30 years with Ben Johnson looking. like he might live forever. The toxic. table was here at Boston Connor and at. Tai Schmidt want to have the hammer down. Cowboys AP Tony's here under and Bears.
right plays last night. >> Yes, it was. >> always. >> home dogs plays through the weekend. >> Yes. Six and two straight up seven and. one against the spread. >> How about overs and unders throughout. two weeks? So throughout uh the season. right now, unders are 25 and 23. Uh home. teams are 25 21 and two. These are all. against the spread. Um and that that's. it. That's really all I got there. >> Okay. I like. >> Oh, and you'll like this one. Teams that. are receiving 50% or more of the bets. are 1729 and one.
>> Fade public. >> Yeah. >> The issue with that is my brain. >> pretty public, >> you know. Yeah. Yeah. >> A lot of my thoughts are heard. >> Well, you had a great week, though. >> I did. I did do well. I started seeing. the board a little bit, which is good. Hopefully that'll continue for all. parties. Nine-year NFL vet, Dary State. Butler. >> Ducks, what you learned last night from. Monday Night Football in Chicago about. the Chicago Bears or maybe the. Philadelphia Eagles? >> Oh, I learned the Philadelphia Eagles. are in trouble once again. You talk. about another play caller. Jaylen Herz.
found a way to win uh late game against. the Titans. It was a big game. Uh big. moment Monday Night Football. You're. going up against a third string. quarterback. Obviously, you got, you. know, good players and the good coaches. over there, but as an Eagles fan, as an. Eagles player, Eagles coach, that's a. game you expect to go in there and win. And they did not. There's a lot of. questions with the offense like there. always is. I thought Saquon would get. going a little more. Some questionable. decisions by Shawn Manion throwing the. ball down there with Andy Dalton. And. then even that play right before the. half where Jaylen Herz barely got the.
snap off and got the sneak. Like that. was a wild play to call a screen pass. with 19 seconds and no timeouts left, but you barely got the touchdown in. there. So, uh, yeah, Philly, Philly, Philly's probably in trouble. And, uh, I. mean, the Bears, you learned a lot about. Case Keenum, I tell you that much. >> Yeah, Case Keenum might be the guy. >> Case Keenum got another five years being. a starting quarterback in the NFL. >> Good. >> How many different offenses could Case. Keenum operate right now, especially. with how dynamic the Ben Johnson offense. is? We got motions. We got shifts. He. hit like 10 different targets. I mean, everybody you've heard of that are on.
the Bears. Ah, KT Lovelin, Ralph, Manangi, Swift, Adun, uh, Luther. Burden's a running back now. And also, uh, yeah, it was just like. >> Khif Raymond. >> Khif Raymond was. >> nuts. >> Crazy. I had no idea he was that fast. I. guess we should. He's a returner. He. gets that ball. He has tape hanging off. him. He is absolutely out of the gates. gone. It's like every player that was. maybe unformed last night that was a. skill position got a stat and it's like. is that Ben Johnson? Yes. Is that Case.
Keenum also operating an offense like. perfectly? Yes. First time in a thousand. days to be that smooth. It's. unbelievable what Case Keenum. accomplished last. >> to your point eight guys had catches. last night. Um they spread it around. obviously and then three guys or sorry. four including Case Keenum had rushes. Yeah, because he had a rushing touchdown. as well, which they they love the play. the guard bail. So the dtackles just go, "Oh no, the ball's going this way. I got. to move this way and then you just kind. of run right up there." That's go smart.
That's smart football. Not only do we. have this, we also had tush push last. night. So it was an appearance of the. quarterback sneak in both parties. First. touchdown was. >> Luther. >> Luther Burton. Yeah. >> On a run. >> Yeah. >> Well, technically pass quick pass. >> Yeah. I mean, Luther Bergen was all over. that. >> He was unbelievable. Actually, pregame, there was a time where he caught a pass. when they were just kind of warming up. and he took the football. He had his. helmet on and he start bashing the. football off of his helmet. It was. sweet.
>> Ben Johnson's culture. >> Yes. Joining us now is another man who. will certainly smash his head off a. football. He's in an attic in Ohio, ladies and gentlemen. He's a college. football national champion, Super Bowl. champion, Ryder Cup winner, AJ Hawk. >> Hako, how you doing, pal? >> I'm good. Pretty much a story book night. for Case Keenan, huh? >> Yeah. With his family there. You know, my kids never really they don't, you. know, they might have been there. They. never really seen me play. So, this is. the first time they get to see Daddy. Yeah. Dad cooks, dude. Dad cooks. It was.
outrageous. 11 for 11 against the Blitz. Uh, so they bring pressure to kind of, hey, Case Keenum's going to have to win. this game. Case Keenum's going to have. to win this game. Pack the box. Bring. people. You got it. No problem. Throwing. around people, finding his hots. immediately. I think he even got some. deep shots on those somehow. It's like. everything he needed to be, he was. And. I didn't expect that. I don't know if. anybody expected that other than Case. Keenum in that locker room, but it was. special to watch and special to be. there. It was magical in that soldier. field. It. >> It sure felt like that. I mean, it came.
through the the TV copy. It looked like. it was an awesome atmosphere, especially. how well he played early, like from the. jump. I think Debb even said in the. first hour, it was like they were on. their first 15 the whole game. Like how. they just kind of stayed in rhythm. He. got rid of the ball, too. I didn't I'm. I'm pretty sure he was not sacked at all. last night. I know the Bears got two. sacks uh with their defense, but how. about the Bears defense as well? Dylan. Theamman, the young rookie safety. He. gets a pick. He's playing well. He's all. over the field. I know TJ Edwards got uh. another pick. It's just uh they're I. think this Bears team is legit. And I. think Ben Johnson takes some pride, too,
and being able to have a guy like Case. Keenum up and ready. >> Yeah. And there's a turnover. Last year, the Bears obviously led the NFL in. turnovers from a defensive standpoint. Normally football gods kind of don't let. you do that backto-back years. I mean it. just might be. Who's there DB coach over. there? >> DB coach Al Harris DC is. >> Al Harris though big times. Everywhere. he has turnovers, right? >> Absolutely. >> Everywhere Al Harris plays and. everywhere Al Harris coaches there is. turnovers in abundance. Right. Is that. not accurate? >> Yes, absolutely. I think he was coaching. Jon Bland that year. He had a huge.
Trarevon Diggs. Digs. >> Um Nan Wright who kind of came out of. nowhere last year for the Bears. So. yeah, he he kind of leaves his imprint. wherever he goes. >> Yeah, cuz normally that many turnovers, football luck you're getting. So the. next year there's a big downfall. It's. like Bears, I don't think maybe this is. just who they are. Maybe they are an. electrifying offense that'll be able to. move the ball no matter what because Ben. Johnson seemingly a super genius in. strategy. And then on defensive side, they're going to get they're going to. have takeaways. That seems like a fun. team to be a fan of. Ty Schmidt. >> Yeah, it does. And you know, uh I was.
just saying there it just adds insult to. injury because he is a Packers legend, you know, for him to be over there. He. was the, you know, we're going to take. the ball and we're going to score pick. six against Matt Hasselbeck like he he. is ingrained in my memory in so many. great moments of Packers lore and then. to see him just, you know, at their most. bitter rival and just continually doing. the right thing. I would assume he's. going to get he should get a DC job here. pretty soon. >> Yeah, I would have thought he would had. one uh at this point when he left uh. Dallas. I would have thought he had one, but we'll see. You know, I don't know. what goes on behind the scenes, but I. know AJ's played with him before. You've.
obviously seen him. He's a South Florida. legend. I would definitely love to see. him call the defense. >> Yesterday was the seventh time the Bears. scored 10 plus points off of turnovers. in a game under Ben Johnson. Obviously, that's the most in the NFL across the. last two seasons. So, not just getting. turnovers. Let's go ahead and take. advantage of him as well. And uh Case. Keenum obviously very sharp and I don't. like to say this because it might sound. like it's not an a super compliment to. Case Keenum. I think Ben Johnson could. win with AJ Hawk at quarterback if he. had to. Not Not that Case Keenum didn't.
play incredible. I think he did play. incredible, but I think if you needed to. draw up a plan with AJ Hawk as your. quarterback, this guy's got no uh. cartilage in his knees, okay? But once. he gets rolling, he can roll. He can. throw the ball. Loves throwing it deep. Thinks he's so cool. Let's keep him. happy. He's not scared to get in there. and throw his face. I think Ben Johnson. could draw up a design and a strategy to. win a game with you at quarterback. I. genuinely believe that. Now, Case Keenum. had to execute perfectly, and he did. I'm not, this is not a take, but I I.
think Ben, the all the hype about why. Ben Johnson was going to be the coach. everywhere is just so evident every. single time we watch his teams. celebrate, play, prepare, everything. It. feels like he is the next one. You know, it really does. And he was hyped as. that. So, it's crazy to think that he's. been able to pull it off. >> Doesn't he feel like a guy like you seem. to usually get one or the other? Either. they're like the Yeah. genius, play. caller, offensive guru guy, but they. lock themselves in an office and they're. like a football nerd and they don't know. how to run a team. Like Ben Johnson. seems like a perfect mix of that.
football crazy guru genius guy, but also. like the ultimate leader that knows how. to, you know, we it it seems pretty. evident from the day he got there. We. know who was in charge there at the. Chicago Bears. And I think we continue. to see that over and over again. So, credit to him and this whole team. I'm. sure the whole city of Chicago is very. very happy. And Ryan Poles, by the way, offensive lineman, you know, so, uh, I. think he's very proud of the team that. they've been able to piece together, the. deals they've been able to get done, and. the offensive line that they have. I I. mean, their offensive line stout, and. it's going to be expected to be because.
that's Ben Johnson's offense. Ben. Johnson 40 years old. >> Uh-oh. >> Don't say you're 75, boys. >> At least. >> Yeah. Especially with science now. >> Hey, thank you. >> Uhoh. Maybe there'll be realignment of. what the NFC North is, and maybe you. guys won't be in there with them. Maybe. maybe they'll take the Packers and the. Bears out of different divisions. >> No, I mean if if if you want to if you. want to be the king, you got to kill the. king. And right now they are they are. the king. So I I would like to be head. Ben Johnson. I just I tell you what, I'm. going to need to be on the wet stone for. the next, you know, four or five years. sharpening that blade in order to do so.
I think. >> you're talking about like in a royal. setting. >> Yeah, correct. Yeah, we're talking. medieval here. Yeah, medieval times. >> Middle. You're at that restaurant that. I'm in. >> I'm at medieval times. Yeah, the white. knight is about to. >> You're yellow team or green team? Yeah, >> I suppose green team. Are they still. bringing it? >> Medieval Times. >> Oh, >> yeah. Of course. >> Is there one in Iowa City? We've been. looking for a place to eat on Thursday. night. >> I got to go. I got to find one. >> I mean, there's a bunch in Florida. There's a bunch in Florida. Can we look. and see the closest medieval times to. Iowa City?
>> Definitely is not one close. I know. that. I know that. >> Oh my god. You guys are missing out. >> There might be one in Denver. There's. one on campus. >> What? >> Uh, let's pivot. Friday is going to be. electrifying, J. Yeah, I cannot wait. >> I saw the I saw the shot from Reese. That's a pretty sweet little setup. >> Yeah, I can't believe we get to be. there. Should be fun to get back on. campus Friday noon Eastern 11 central. We'll be live from Iowa City kicking off. a massive Big 10 celebration for College. Game Day. Uh joining us now, speaking of.
celebration, >> we're dropping puck in 3 HOURS 39. MINUTES. >> LET'S GO. >> Regular season puck. >> NHL regular season starts today. Banner. night. >> 5:00 p.m. we got the Panthers taking on. the Hurricanes. >> A man who will be there representing. talking that good talk about that stick. talk. Ladies and gentlemen, he's a horse. owner. >> Yeah. >> He's a lad of the lads. >> He's a Stanley Cup champion. He goes by.
Big Horno, ladies and gentlemen. Eric. Johnson. >> Yeah. Horn. >> How you doing, Horno? >> You know what? I feel used. You don't. call. You don't ride all summer and then. hockey rolls around and I just I just. feel like a mule. What am I to you? >> A mule? Peggy, that is you are a No, a. hockey mule. There's been a lot going on. in our life. We hope the same for you. You look refreshed. You're glowing. Horno, you know that you're glowing. Is. that because opening puck day? Uh, opening stick night. Uh, opening Hold on.
before you get going. guy didn't answer. our calls when he was in Vegas for two. weeks cuz he was in a a bundle of sticks. on the floor every night. >> Oh, you're talking about when we were. trying to cover the Stanley Cup finals. and we couldn't get a hold of anybody. for 10 days because. >> absolute puddle. >> on the piss, man. >> A little bit of a runaway out there in. Las Vegas. Is that is that what we're. talking about? Horno or you talking. about other times? >> I've spent enough days in Vegas in the. last year for the rest of my life. I'm. I'm done, but I got to go back twice.
here in the next two months. But no, I. am happy to be in Raleigh and I think. what a great night to kick it off with. You know, the the Panthers won the cup. in 24-25. The Canes win it in 26. These. guys are bitter rivals. They hate each. other. Brady Kachchuck told me the other. day he's going to set the hit record. tonight that he owns at 16 in a single. game. So, I mean I mean they have a guy. named the Butcher on their team for. Christ's sake and Radco Gudes. So, this. is going to be an absolute war. Okay, so. the butcher and Brady probably going to.
throw it down a little bit to set the. tone. Do you think Brady is planning on. breaking the hit record because it's his. first game with the Panthers? Would like. to set precedent on who he is, wants to. set the tone, or is this just the style. the Panthers are going to be playing all. season long with who they have now on. their roster, Brady included? >> I mean, the Panthers are like the. modern-day Broad Street bullies like the. Flyers used to be back in the day. They. can beat you with skill, they can beat. you with physicality, they can hit, they. can fight, they can do it all. So. really, whatever style another team.
wants to play, the Florida Panthers can. do it. And I think with Brady, a he. wants to fire his team up. He just came. over in a huge trade in the off season. from Ottawa. Wanted to get out of Canada. and play in the United States and with. his brother. So, he's been going to be. fired up to get this Florida Panther. team back on track. Remember, they. missed the playoffs last season. They. dealt with a ton of injuries, so they're. going to be fired up and ready to go. And Carolina on the flip side is going. to be ready to defend their title. against their bitter rival, the. Panthers. >> Florida Panther super fan DBud. >> Yeah, I know we've moved on from Bobby.
and what can we expect from our new. goalies over there for the Panthers? >> A great question. So, it's well. documented, but Broski went over to. Toronto in the off season. The Panthers. brought in Markstrom from Jersey. He's a. huge goalie. Takes up a ton of net. He's. sort of getting to that age where you. wonder if there's going to be a decline. in his play, but I I think the opposite. But I think he's going to be. reinvigorated, rejuvenated with the. Florida Panthers and I think he's going. to be a rock for them and net this. season and that's really the only. question is in net for me. I think.
Florida is built to win it all. The only. question will be if if Mark can carry. the mail for them all season long, which. I think he can. >> Love that the NHL is starting their. 82game regular season here today on the. MLB wildcard kickoff as well and also. NFL in full throttle. Oh yeah, >> it is a great time to be a sports fan. It's also a great time to be in Chicago. We got to see that last night. Go ahead, Ty. >> Yeah, Horno, you know, the Bears are are. back. They went to the playoffs last. year, won a playoff game. Both the Cubs.
and the White Socks are in the playoffs. starting today. And for a couple years. now, we've been hearing, you know, Connor Baddard is he's the he's the next. great one. He's the next Weno. Uh and. he's kind of been a bit of a squid up to. this point in that's just what people. are saying. That's not necessarily what. I'm saying, but you know, you talk about. this guy being the next Wayne Gretzky. and he's his team's hammer dog piss, but. they're on, you know, national TV all. the time. It doesn't really make sense. But they do have the night cap tonight. in Vegas. Uh, is this the year that, you. know, the Blackhawks maybe kind of turn. things around and they get back to those.
Blackhawks teams a couple, you know, almost a decade ago that were winning. all those cups? Like, is Baddard finally. going to take that next step and stop. being such a squid? Yeah, first off, I do want to give a. shout out to Case Keenum. Know him. pretty well. Colorado guy and I'm really. happy for him. He finally got his first. chance to to start in over a thousand. days and with with his kids, it was just. awesome. The man can launch a golf ball, launch a football. So, I'm super happy. for him. But back to the Blackhawks. Yeah, I think it's a fair question. Like, Bard has all the tools to be the.
next generational superstar face of the. league. And. >> I mean, it's not always linear, I think, in players development. And and let's be. honest, when Chicago was winning all. those cups, they had a heck of a core. and a nucleus before Kane and Taves got. there. They had Sebrook, they had Keith, they had Sharp, they had Buffin, they. had Crawford, they had all of these. pieces in place already. And for. Baddard, they they really didn't. It was. Baddard and kind of the pieces have been. filtering in over time. So, I don't. think it's fair to judge him on what's.
happened so far. And even maybe this. season, I don't think Chicago is going. to be a playoff team this year. Could. they maybe sneak into a wild card spot? Yeah, potentially. Potentially. But. Bard, the weights on his shoulders and. he's had to do it all by himself, which. isn't necessarily fair. I think the. pieces are coming in Chicago and they're. going to be good for a long time. But. Bard's a superstar. He's going to be a. great player for a long time. It just. might not be right now for Chicago as. far as being a cup contender. >> Yeah. And but maybe we don't call him. Squid, though. >> That's I'm That's not what I'm saying. I'm seeing a lot of that out there,
though. >> How deep is Squid? You know, like where. where do we rank Squid amongst Squid? What what would be a below a squid? >> Cement in the skates probably. >> No, cement in the skates means slow. loser. The So, we got like idiot uh. shipp dork uh. >> pigeon. >> Well, I'm not getting to there. I'm. doing human stuff. Yeah, this is human. stuff. If you could just give me the. ranking cuz pigeon, muppet, squid, your. guys' words. I would just like to know. where they rank. You know, like you sit.
down at a card table to play poker, good. piece of information is like what beats. what, you know? I would like to know in. your guys's word, what's the worst? Is. squid the worst? Cuz it sounds the way. There's a queue in there. >> Nail gun's the best. We know. >> Yeah. Nail gun is. >> lug is bad. >> What is What is like if you really want. to get another hockey guy, you walk up. to a hockey guy and just want to right. to the balls with a word. What What is. it? Squid. That feels pretty big. >> Squid's not great. Um, some guys throw. around turbine. He is a complete.
turbine. I don't I don't know exactly. why that gets thrown around. Um, pigeon, muppet, you could go on and on. Some. that I could say on the show, some that. I can't. But. >> squid, I wouldn't I wouldn't use squid. for Bernard, boys. No way. Absolutely. Okay, it's clear cuz they were saying. Connor. >> Yeah, >> I I didn't like that at all. So, now. that we got that kind of figured out. Yeah, we got to the bottom of it. That's. pretty rude. That's. >> Well, but they're not doing that though. But they're not. >> But you've seen it on the.
>> Well, I haven't seen. >> I've seen it everywhere. >> A lot. >> Everywhere. You didn't see it last night. when we uh drove into Chicago when we. almost got to the game. Sears Tower. Bard's a squid. I don't know who put it. on. >> They did not do that. That is not true. They just need that to be known. Sears. Tower did not do. Is that his name? >> That's not the name anymore, but that's. what I call it. >> What is the name of that thing now? >> Willis tower, right? >> Yeah, they're right. Some turbine. changed the name. It's ridiculous. It. sounds like it maybe. Is that used. properly there? Do we use turbine. properly there or no? >> Talking to you.
>> Yeah, talking to you. >> Wake up, porno. Talking to you. >> Anybody home, man? >> Guys, man, >> the lights are on. >> Lights are on. No one's home. >> I know. >> All right, let's talk uh here. Other. common. Let's not put this up yet. Okay, that's not good. There is now uh there's. an entire list here being shown to me of. common disrespectful terms and insults. in hockey. Uh pile on pylon.
>> Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. Uh. >> I've heard that before. >> What was that? >> They call you that, don't they? There's. a old horno. Old horno is a bit of a. pylon back there. A guy can't move. I. think is what they're saying in that. >> That's in the boots. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. There it is. Grocery stick. A. player who sits on the bench right in. the middle separating the forge from the. defenseman. >> That's good. >> That's good. >> That might be. >> Yeah, that's good. >> That might be okay. >> Bones a bit of A GROCERY STICK.
>> NO, Bones in there working. >> Time pylon. >> All right, let's move. Hockeyy's back. We need to talk about actual hockey up. in Boston. We have a pretty big uh. ceremony to be had. Go ahead, Con Man. >> Yeah, Horn. Let's forget about the. pylons. Talk about the nail guns. Pasta. dawning the sea now for the Boston. Bruins. A lot of people making a big. deal about it because he got in. Makavoy. didn't. What is kind of your take on. that entire thing? And are the Boston. Bruins probably favorites to win Lord. Stanley's Cup or where do you see them.
this year? >> I wouldn't go that far, Conno, but uh I. think. >> it's unusual because there's not a ton. of European captains and especially an. original six team like Boston. But I. know Pasta. Not only does he have an. all-time nickname, great style, great. for the league, good personality, and I can't speak to exactly the. leadership hierarchy in in the Bruins. dressing room. You know, Makavoy would. have been a great choice. Pasta is a. great choice, but I just think he's been. there. He's been there for a long time.
He's one of the best players in the. league, some of the face of the face of. the NHL in a lot of ways and along with. a lot of other other guys. But I I just. I just love the swag and the style and. everything that Pasta brings to the. table. And no, I don't think the Bruins. are favorites for the cup. I think they. can be near the top of the Atlantic. division this year, but I think Pasta is. a great choice. I think he can lead. them. >> No, the Atlantic division's run by the. same horses that have been running it. for 20 straight years. >> Exactly where we want to be. >> Okay. >> You guys are in favor?
>> We should be. >> No, I know you're not. It's the Panthers. and. >> Well, we're in the Metro. >> Yeah, we're not even India lately. >> I'm talking about to win it all. Oh, you're talking about Stanley Cup. >> Yeah. >> Here's P landing. >> Pittsburgh Penguins are going to win it. all. That's why we brought everybody. back. Horno, >> they're the favorites. Yeah, >> I don't I mean I No. No. I don't think. so, boys. I think they can sneak in, but. I don't think they're I don't think. Sid's going to win another cup in. Pittsburgh. As much as I love Sid and I. love. >> Plus 8,000. Pretty good odds. >> I'll take that. That's worse than the.
Colts. >> HOLY CRAP. >> WE'RE DROPPING THE PUCK TONIGHT. IT'S SO. much sneaking it in. >> What? Excuse me. >> Colts are plus 6,000. The Guidos have a. worse chance than the Colts to raise THE. TROPHY. YIKES. >> HORNO'S GOT no idea. Okay, THIS GUY HAS. NO IDEA. >> THAT'S THE SPORTS BOOKS, BABY. >> WE'RE BRINGING HIM ON THE SHOW. HE'S. just spewing misinformation. And. obviously, we will all learn on what we. need to believe as the season rolls on. It's hard to Thank you. Go ahead, Tone. Thank you, Horno. >> Pittsburgh Penguins are plus 8,000. The.
Boston Bruins PLUS 10,000. OH MY GOD. BUCKS ON THAT RIGHT THERE. RESPONSIBLY. RIGHT NOW. RESPONSIBLY. RESPONSIBLY. RESPONSIBLY. RESPONSIBLY. >> OH, that made my day. >> Over the pens. Over the pens. >> That's all drafts are saying, Bob. >> All right, let's go to a team that is. plus 6,000 somehow has better odds than. the Pittsburgh Penguins. AJ Hawk has a. question for you. >> Yeah, he's talking about the Columbus. Blue Jackets. Obviously plus 6,000.
Actually, when I saw that earlier, I. wasn't feeling very good about. Now that. I see the other odds for these guys. squads, I feel great. But uh Zack. Winsky, obviously the 200 foot phenom we. got here in Columbus. How's this season. going to play out for them and what do. you think uh you know the optics are for. this team? They got a new coach. Are the. boys going to buy in? >> He is. >> I feel for some reason AJ that the the. Blue Jackets are always mired in. controversy. Their star players don't. want to play there. They want to play. there. They don't want to play there. Winsky requests a trade. They have a. trade in place to Dallas. He rejects it.
Says he wants to be a Blue Jacket. Krill. Marenko doesn't want to play there. He. just got traded to Toronto. Matthew Ny. comes in the other way to Columbus, which I think is a great move. You get a. player in Marchenko that had no interest. in being a Blue Jacket. They ship him to. the Maple Leafs. You get a stud player. and Matthew Ny coming the other way. So, and to speak on Winsky, if this guy. played in Toronto, he would have won two. Norris trophies already. Warenski is. that good. Plays in a smaller market. that he's an American, so I don't think. he gets all the credit he should, but. he's arguably the top defenseman in the.
NHL, won the Norris this past season, and a top three in the conversation. every single year. Total stud. >> You're telling me that a team that. nobody wants to be on has better odds. win Stanley Cup than a team that has. Sydney Crosby on it? Okay. >> Yeah. >> And Gino. >> Okay. Before long, >> tooth over there. >> flowers back. >> When the tooth is sharp, bub, it don't. matter how long that thing is. Okay. You. just start hit. We can get gators now. with how long the tooth is. You know, we.
can crack through. Yeah, exactly. The. Pittsburgh Penguin saber-tooths. That is. what we are. Long, sharp, strong teeth. Okay, let's not be judging them too. much. On that note, I don't I don't like. these odds. Not Not one bit. The the. conversation about not wanting to be. places has certainly kind of heightened. in my eyes uh after the Olympics. So all. the boys that were on American teams. after winning the gold medal uh got. celebrated in their arenas and obviously. it was held in high regard in the towns.
in which they were go to the grocery. store maybe stop by. Hey, thank you for. what you did for America. And the boys. that were up on Canadian teams, very. different reaction, I think obvious for. obvious reasons. Canada loses. It feels. like maybe they didn't get a chance to. um celebrate the incredible. accomplishment in game that they had as. much as everybody else. Brady's out of. town. >> Mhm. >> Halabuk, right? Halibuck, our goalie, stopped every puck. >> A 100 shots. >> Yeah. >> Is not enough for Halabuk. Okay. to do.
this. He held out. Is that still. happening? And does that ever happen? And he wants to get out into America. And is this normal? Cuz in hockey, >> I don't think I ever really know about. hold outs or any of these types of like. exits that you just mentioned a couple. different times cuz hockey feels like. such a this is what you do. This is how. you do it. If you don't like it, that's. on you. This is what hockeyy's always. been. This feels like a pretty large. story that has been happening here post. the Olympics. Can you tell me a little. bit more about it and how often this. takes place?
Yeah, I think it's unusual, but I also. think as time has gone on, the players. have more power than ever before. I. mean, when I broke in the league in. 2007, you kind of put your head down, you got the job done where you were at, and you made the best of a situation, even if you weren't happy. Now, these. guys are demanding out left and right. And I don't think this is exclusive to. American players. I think it's happening. right now because it's front and center. But let's be honest, if the Winnipeg. Jets were a contender and a Stanley Cup. favorite, Connor Halabuk would not be. asking out. If Dylan Larkin was playing.
on the Detroit Red Wings and they were a. Stanley Cup favorite, he would not be. asking out. Quinn Hughes would not be. asking out if the Vancouver Conucks were. a contender last year. So, I think this. is painting a negative light on Canadian. teams. While maybe a little bit, these. American guys want to play for American. markets, but let's be honest, if these. Canadian teams were Stanley Cup. contenders, these players would not be. asking out. Same with Brady and Ottawa. coming to Florida. >> Okay, thank you for clarifying what the. >> boys. I got to run though. I got a car. to go to the arena. All right, you're. the best, ladies and gentlemen. Eric,
>> hockeyy's happening. Per Elliot. Friedman, Connor Halibuck to Carolina. trade may now come down to Alexander. Niking. >> Oh, >> going to the St. Louis Blues. Uh, Blue. Pucks is reporting that Alia Friedman is. reporting. I had a few sources reach out. to say St. Louis has been a consistent. pursuer and some people are surprised it. hasn't already happened. Sounds like. Nashville tried and couldn't get there. Coach Sabin, obviously owner of the. Predators, one of the owners. I think. you send him in Holl Buck's house, you. might be able to get the deal done. >> Is that a three-way trade then? If.
Carolina and St. Louis is Is that what. they're saying? >> Yeah, they'd be looking to work a. three-way deal. >> That shouldn't be allowed. >> What do you mean? >> They just won Lord Stanley's Cup and now. they get Connor Hellbuck. No, >> I think uh. >> I agree. >> He might come in the Penguins though. >> He could. >> Probably for Crosby and Malcolin, but. you don't want to do that. I know you. don't. >> No, >> could. >> No offense to Halabuk. He had an. incredible gold medal game and I. appreciate what he did. >> and he fell off the wagon after that. one. >> You okay? Well, whatever the case, you.
saying Crosby and Malcolin would be what. it takes to do that is. >> to get an American. You wouldn't do it. at least. >> Derek, very valid point you just made there. >> 40 years old. >> Yeah, you can't have 10 more years. >> You're from Pittsburgh. >> Sydney Crosby and Malcolm. >> I'm looking at the future. >> have brought you happiness. A lot of it. in Pittsburgh. did bring me a ton. They're idols. I have pictures of them. hanging in my basement. >> Man, if we're talking about. >> 33 ain't young for a goalie. I hate to.
say it. >> True. >> We're not 40. >> We're not trading. >> goalies. >> Sydney Crosby and Malin out of town to. St. Louis or Carolina. >> I thought we were getting McDavid in. that deal, too. >> I would like McDavid to come. Now, if. we're talking McDavid, he can't take. Crosby. >> Yeah. Gino and Tanganger. >> Keep No, keep those guys. Give it six. more months. McDavid will be begging to. get out of Edmonton. >> We'll give you guys everybody else, but. we got Sid, Gino, and Lang hockey. starting. I'm sure we'll be able to.
follow all 82 games that they have as. they drop. >> 840. >> They added two. >> Why add two more? >> That's why it's earlier this year. >> What kind of redonkulous move is that? >> Rangers Bruins, same time as Yankee. Socks. >> Love that. >> Double New York and Boston battling. >> Well, triple box. You know what else. tonight? >> What's that? >> Nope. Nope. That's all you know tonight. Actually, >> the city you live in, >> what's going on? Are the clouds playing? >> Is it Raw? >> No. Las Vegas are coming to town.
>> Play the Indiana Fever. >> Amazon Prime. >> WNBA playoffs happening tonight as the. Las Vegas Aces who uh did not win it. last year. The Liberty won it last year. and they are taking on the Fever here. And this is game three of the season. >> Game two. >> Got to win. Must win up. >> Winner go. Winner stay home. Sax on. prime. >> I was going to say and that's a huge. mistake. >> Why? Cuz we won't be able to fourbox it. >> Bingo. And guess what? I will not be.
doing sacrificing Yankees and Red Sox. for this game. >> Oh, so the Aces are looking to go back. to back right now. >> Yeah, I believe. >> Yeah, they won three of four. So they're. looking for four or five this year. >> Oh, cuz they're in the middle of their. dynasty. The Liberty stole one there. That was two years ago. Last year, Aces. win their third in four years, potentially going four and five. That's. a real dynasty over there. That's a real. dynasty over there. They got a problem. on their hands tonight, though, as the. Fever are going to catch fire. It's.
going to be a hot night for the ladies. down there in Gainbridge Fieldhouse. TB, you going? >> You know it. >> Nice. Congrats. All right, man. So, I'll. be watching. >> You're touching wood. >> Panthers. Uh uh I don't know. I don't. know yet. >> Wait. Still waiting to secure my ticket. So I might not be in there. It's a hot. ticket. >> Go on see gigek right now. They're. available. >> They're not sold out. Before the show. sold out green dots. >> No, no, no. You're lying season ticket. holder. Go with him. >> What? First home playoff game, right?
>> Ever? >> No. They won a title in 2012. Tama. catchings. Catch out. >> I said Caitlyn Clark. >> Didn't they go to the finals last year? >> Something like Kelsey Mitchell. Boston. Come on, man. What's your problem, man? Catchers can shoot, man. >> Tama still a legend in Indie. Everything. she did, she Olympic gold medals. multiple times. She is absolute beast. here in Indie. Uh, speaking of Segeek, use code Pat McAfee for $30 off tickets. Here are the top selling week four games. of the NFL. Cowboys, Texans, the battle.
of Texas down there. Green Bay vers the. Buccaneers, Chief Raiders, Broncos, Niners, and Patriots Bills. Use code Pat. McAfee for $30 off tickets with our. friends at Segeek. What are you so upset. about this graphic? >> They better be selling those Packers. Bucks tickets for five bucks. And that's. why they're the hot ite I feel like. >> Pakers not playing and the Packers are. hammered dog [ __ ]. >> That's one of those before the season. all the Packers fans bought tickets to. Tampa Bay to go on vacation and go to a.
game. >> A lot of Packers fans though. Packers. fans fill up stadiums. >> They travel everywhere. Yeah. >> And that's, you know, you don't get a. chance to play in a lot of places. So. like all the Packers fans from that area. are going to go. It's just like when a. game's in London or Brazil and they're. just wearing all different uniforms and. everything, you know that that's how. Packers fans are, right? You guys fill. up at literally every state AJ, don't. the Packers fill up every stadium? >> Yeah. I mean, a lot of people tell you. like Pittsburgh and Green Bay fans. travel very very well. Like some of the. best in the whole league. >> Cowboys, ners, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, right? I think would be the four that.
have like and that's cuz they had. dynasties way back whenever generations. uh became fans of the NFL. So, I always. talk about those fan bases, you know, kind of migrating throughout the country. and being in other places. Pittsburgh. Steelers fans, there's allegedly a. Pittsburgh Steeler bar in every single. city in the country, obviously, because. the steel mills and working and then. traveling from Pittsburgh out throughout. the rest of the world. They're not the. only ones. Packers fans are the same way. as the way they love the Green Bay and. will travel to watch their cheese head. friends, you know, do battle. It does.
feel like Packers fans are in an. interesting spot. You know, feels like. you got and this is me just strictly. reading off of you. >> Sure. >> And uh maybe you're overreacting. You. think a little bit or do you think you. >> Definitely. No, no, no. Definitely. Definitely. Absolutely. But guess what? Like I'm going to continue to do so. You. know how hard it is to watch a football. team when they can't block anybody? Oh, >> it's impossible. It's impossible to. watch that game and enjoy it. Now, granted, they did just sign like eight. guys, so we might have a completely new. offensive line, and maybe that helps.
But also, Baker Mayfield's not playing. this weekend. Jaylen Daniels, the. undrafted rookie, is playing this. weekend. I've seen and read this book. about 10,000 times. I know exactly what. happens on Sunday. >> And he can run. >> And he can run. >> And guess what? He's going to pass for a. lot of yards. And he's going to run for. a lot of yards. It's just it's a it's a. tale as old as time. >> I uh I hope that the Packers turn around. for you. >> Me, too. I hope that happens. Wasn't it. a crazy backup quarterback stat or like. like six and0 guys who didn't start week.
one? >> Yeah. Non non-week one starters, not. backup quarterback. It's an interesting. >> It's odd. Yeah. There there's like. Pennix is on that list, but would you. say that he's the backup? You know, it's. a weird. >> So, if you didn't start the season as. the quarterback, starting quarterback, six and0, but also Yeah, cuz then you. could give Drew Lock and Carson two. wins. Two more. >> Yeah. All these guys are back up. >> Yeah. Cuz didn't was when Tua named the. starter or no? >> True. >> Or when Penn wasn't healthy. >> Yeah. Right. >> Yeah. Penn was had two weeks where he.
wasn't healthy. We can't name a starter. yet. Still not healthy. Soon as he was. healthy, he's in there. So, yes, I guess. we could say all these are backups, but. it's just non-week one starting. quarterbacks have gone six and0 as. starters. So, I mean, the year of the. backup quarterback did happen a couple. years ago where we saw a number in which. >> 66. >> Yeah. had never seen before. Maybe that. happens again. >> I hope. And maybe that's because how. physical football is. We could have seen. Jaylen out of that game last night. >> Yeah. >> I mean, there was a time for the first. time since 2017, we had Case Keenum,
Andy Dalton. Okay. They played in 2007, they said, at TCU. >> Yeah. Texas. >> and Houston or whatever. >> You know what was the overreaction? >> You just mentioned that a few moments. ago. You guys talking about that hit on. the sideline last night with Jaylen Her. >> That was about that was close to the. way. That's my quarterback. >> He was going out of bounds clearly. >> right at the first down marker. That's. called I think that's called every. single time. I think they call that. every time. >> What's the rule though? What's the rule. if he technically like his foot did. start to if if if you see him going out. of bounds, you can't touch him. Is that.
the rule? >> I mean attention. >> He was still in and it's right at the. sticks. It's right at the sticks and. like we don't What if he lowers his head. and tries to get that first down? >> Yeah. And I guess he could have turned. up. He did turn out and maybe he was. already down in there. But I think your. guy who hit him standing out of bounds. while hitting him, I think is a a reason. to say maybe not. you know, maybe every. inch, including the. >> out there. But the way Jaylen gets. >> bumped. >> Oh, that's why they called it, man. I. didn't see that angle. >> cuz he laid down face down. Yeah,
>> full on bump. I mean, he is flying. through the air right now. Uh he was. going to be short of the first down. Yeah, because I hit him. But I I mean, he's out of bounds hitting him out of. bounds. I think that's going to be. called I don't know 100 times probably. >> You know how quarterbacks do the little. little right before you go out over the. >> little switch hand. Make sure you. >> you never know. >> cuz first down goes around the entire. world. >> Mhm. >> Yeah, it certainly does. You just got to. make sure you pass it at some point. And. uh yeah, I think that's going to get. called a 100 times out of a 100 times, I. think. So maybe not an overreaction. But.
on that note, >> we did wait until Tuesday for this. week's overreaction tweets strictly. because we could have got something from. last night. That was a prime position. for a backup quarterback taking on. Philadelphia Eagles. You know, Eagles. fans maybe get into the game a little. bit and they didn't. But we got some. Bears fans that certainly got in and. Packers fans that got into it. So ladies. and gentlemen, it's time for hashtag I. don't want to overreact, BUT. SENT A TWEET OUT yesterday saying, "Hey, let me hear some of your fandom emotions. and if they're good in Tai's eyes,
they'll make the Hey, Ty Schmidt and Pat. M show. I'm a late candidate because my. team played today, but # I don't want to. overreact, but the Chicago Bears put ass. to belt." Okay, not belt to ass. That. belt was out there and they were forcing. the ass off of the belt against. >> That's what he meant. Yeah. >> More disrespectful. >> Think about how much like explosion you. have to have in your bones to pick up. somebody and throw their ass off of a. belt because a belt's small.
>> Yeah. >> You know, so people kind of understand. >> actually make it hurt. Yeah. Too. You. have to really swing that human pretty. hard. >> Yeah. Especially with where their ass is. cuz like your foot swinging a foot. >> a little bit more. >> We need like five Brock Lesnar to do. this. >> Mhm. >> Well, that's what he said they did last. night. And it wasn't just five. It was. actually 22 of them things, you know, and you can put Cairo in there, too. Chicago Bears kicker did that. But # I. don't want to overreact, but. >> the Chicago Bears put ass to belt.
against the Eagles with their QB3. And. the Packers lost with their QB1 against. the Falcons. >> Oh my god. Oh, Ty Raul Del Rio the. third. There had been two others before. just absolutely dropping gems on the. state of the Packers and the Bears right. now. Is this an overreaction or is this. the truth? Ty Schmidt, >> you know what? It's an overreaction uh. for now at least. Uh because guess what? In about 7 weeks, history will tell a. very different story about that Thursday. night football game when Penn is the.
leading candidate for MVP at, you know, the week nine mark and this guy's. already thrown 45 touchdowns and has one. interception. It was the one he threw on. the opening drive. We're going to really. reframe how we were talking about the. Atlanta Falcons early in the season. >> So, you're saying Atlanta Falcons, >> that's a damn. >> be a good football team. Let's go to the. next overreaction, shall we? This one's. from Pittsburgh. Nick Moro in the back. # I don't want to overreact, but an. opening drive touchdown. More than seven. points in the first quarter. Pre- snap.
motions. Big slashes in the run game. Legit pass blocking. DK catching the. ball in the end zone. Big Mike was. cooking. Stellars are all the way back. Bengals are still the Bengals. AJ, I. know you're a torn here. Grow up uh. Bengals fan. Played for the Bengals. And. then you got Aaron Rogers playing his. best ball that he's played in some time. and Big Mike drawing up absolute. beauties to cook this Bengals defense. AJ, what did you think of the Pittsburgh. Steelers? And do you think Nick is right.
for saying, you know what, this Steelers. team might be the best Steelers team. we've ever had? >> I don't think this is too big of an. overreaction. I think it's legit. Like. look, the blocking obviously is much. better. I think Aaron played very well. He spreads the ball around. Like this. Steelers team, if they can continue to. have some consistent success on offense, they're going to be very, very good. And. I think for people that are sick of. watching the Steelers like dink and dunk. for however many years, they have to be. pretty excited. They can push the ball. down the field. Now they have they we. know they have guys that can make. explosive plays on the outside. >> Yeah. And now Scoranics getting into the.
offense. And then on special teams, he. literally put his face through a dude to. recover a muff punt. It's like the. Steelers have a different attitude here. now than he did for the first couple. weeks. And big Mike McCarthy, he might. be in that kitchen. >> Yeah, >> he might be whipping in the kitchen. I. haven't seen him on the microphone yet, everybody. I've seen two people on. microphone. >> Yeah, I've seen that. >> Awesome. Big Mike's been on there. >> No, I have not, but I've seen the one. you're talking about. >> I saw you and S on there. >> Really saw you. >> I think Sabin actually put that one out. I thought.
>> Oh, really? >> Hey, I thought that was a fake page. That was. >> co's got that dog. >> I could be very wrong. >> I didn't know he was so. >> I mean neither. >> into the social media videos and trends. I didn't see that. Am I the one dancing. or spitting? >> You were take off. He was He was. >> Yeah, you're on the right side. >> Okay. I like that. I like it. You know, on that note, I think Sam's probably the. one spitting there. I'm probably the one. doing advancing if I had to guess. So, I'm happy uh that exists out there. I've. seen a lot of people together doing. that. I'm pretty proud of it. Kind of. brought the world together. >> That's pretty good. I like that that's.
happening. >> Started with two cats. >> And now the Pittsburgh Steelers are. potentially all uh united. >> Yeah. >> Including the fans. >> Yeah. >> That we might have something here. >> Mhm. Maybe this OE user we hired as a. head coach isn't some big dumb dude. >> Maybe Aaron Rogers can play good. football. Maybe we don't even need Joey. Porter Jr. Oh, that's still kind of. looming, isn't it? Is that still looming. right now, Tony? >> Yeah, it's cooking a bit. Uh, actually. Jerry uh Jones was asked today about. Joey Porter Jr. and you know, he had.
some comments. He said, "I'm not going. to tamper, but you know, we're looking. into everything." I think I believe. Shaft reported um the Cowboys and the. Lions potentially are snooping around. So, uh we'll see what happens. Still. hasn't played a game this year. Uh is. practicing though, so it's, you know, it's dayto day. She reported a handful. of teams including the Dallas Cowboys. and Detroit Lions have begun making. inquiries about the availability of. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Joey. Porter Jr. League sources told ESPN, "Was there a graphic on Sunday. countdown?". >> Yes, there was. >> Is that real?
>> I don't know if it was real. Everything. is so good at being edited now. But I. saw what you were talking about where it. said contract underneath. It was. hilarious. >> Oh, I did see that. Yeah. >> I don't know if it was real, but it does. feel like that is what it's been this. entire time. Yep. >> And uh if they're both going to just. stay firm in their stances. Are we just. wasting how time, a career, legacy, talent, everything? Is this. >> is he doing full practice? Like is he. taking reps with the ones? >> No. Well, yesterday was limit or sorry, it's it says like conditioning. It says.
full practice, but it it's listed as. like conditioning. Uh, and some there. was some other letters next to it. I. don't know what it is, but you know, you. don't love ball. You don't love ball. So, >> already Tony already here. This is what. happened. >> Yesterday was his first full. participation in practice. >> Okay. >> On the year. >> Okay. So, maybe he's back up in Adam. >> It was a walkthrough though cuz they. play on Thursday. So, >> hold maybe on Thursday night he gets a. big time pick against Cleveland Browns. Starts celebrating a little bit. He's. just like, "Look at this guy playing.
without a long-term contract. We like. what he's doing here, risking his entire. future and his family's future for the. good of us. >> We love this guy.". >> Say that soon as I see Cleat on grass. >> Or he gives up a third DOWN SLANT. >> THIS GUY ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY. HE. DON'T CARE ABOUT his team. >> Maybe for practice. >> Oh, man. >> That's never happened. So, that's not. going to happen on Thursday either. >> What's that? He ain't never giving up a. third down slant. >> Okay. So, you still respect his game. You would just. >> Yeah, >> god. He's a He's a goddamn good football.
player, >> so maybe somebody should treat him that. way. >> You're right. >> So, also, you can't get paid till you on. the field. So, >> all right. All right. To. >> negotiate. >> Let's go to another city that certainly. loves their players whenever they're. playing good football. Let's go up to. New England. Uh at Boston Connor tweets. # I don't want to overreact, but people. are saying Drake Bay's name is actually. Drake Extra Male because of the subs. he's been throwing out there. I don't. know what the hell is going on with the. Patriots. Uh not overreaction. I think a.
lot of people are saying this. Troy Aman. last night though in a very good. discussion uh on Monday Night Countdown. said there's a lot of things going on. with this offense. It's not just Drake. May. There's a couple decisions. obviously that we're all secondguing. The ball's slipping out of his hand. because there's blood on the ball. looks. amateur and sounds amateur, but anytime. you're an MVP finalist one year and. you're in the same offensive system and. they add a weapon, even though he's not. up right now, but they invest in the. offense, you think everybody's going to. be better, you expect a massive leap at. least, you know, you expect that type of.
thing and it seemingly hasn't happened. Is there too much going on? What do you. genuinely think is going on? And when. does he snap out of it, you think? >> I think it's a combination of your. number one wide receiver AJ Brown gets. hurt, you know, 20 plays into the. season. I do think that has a big deal. to do with it. first three games, Seahawks, Steelers, Jacks. You're. playing three division winners, one. Super Bowl champion to start your. season. So, it's going to be tough no. matter what. How ugly it looks on. offense is shocking. I'm really not sure. what it is. You would have thought there. would be some sort of progression in the. offense, maybe more plays, more motions,
the types of things that we're used to. seeing in these kind of new school. offenses. I don't know if it's the. McDaniels offense changing. And a lot of. the times decisions like this were. exactly why Drake May was good last year. was that he wasn't making these bonehead. plays and he was incredibly accurate. with the football. Third most accurate. season throwing the football in the. history of the NFL. It's just not how it. is this year. We'll see. I still got a. lot of hope. There's 14 games left. Uh. but yeah, it doesn't look good right now. on offense. >> Yeah. And uh Vable we all think is a.
great coach, right? >> Yes. >> So he should be able to reach him if. somebody's going through something. You. would hope that the leader, the alpha. commander, the. >> the supreme the supreme commander. >> Supreme commander. >> He was trying to he was. >> he had to. at that point it was too late. >> I listen I a lot of terrible thoughts in. your head right now. I assume. >> Mhm. >> This has been a nightmare. Certainly. You're gonna be okay, kid. A lot of days. still got to live out here. >> People saying Drake lost respect for him.
and doesn't want to play for him. anymore. >> Yep. A bunch of tweets like that. Uh, but there there's so much left and to be. completely honest with you, it's not. even worst case scenario. It just hasn't. looked good so far. I I have a lot of. faith left in New England for the rest. of the season. >> Me too. I think Drake May figures it. out. Too much of a hooper not to, you. know, like in my eyes. Too athletic, too. competitive, too good at the position to. not figure it out and maybe get going. But it has not been what we thought it. was going to be. There's been some takes. on the offensive line maybe. How do they.
feel? How do they trust? How do they. call plays with that? Probably the best. part of the team so far on offense has. been Will Campbell. >> Oh, nice. Welcome back, Will Campbell. Happy to hear that. So, there is things. to build on. Maybe they find it. And. remember, if your team's ass right now, it doesn't mean they're going to be ass. forever. But if they're good, you might. become shite. >> That's football in a nutshell. MLB. tonight. Same with the NHL. We'll see. you tomorrow. Goodbye. Oh, WNBA. >> We got it. We got it early. Fever. Fever. aces. >> Yeah. What time does Fever tip off? >> 7:30. Okay.
>> Eastern. Okay. >> Is that what time the game is, Da? You're heading down to it. What time? What time? >> 5. >> I think 6:30. >> 6:30. >> 6:30 Central. >> I'm not sure. >> You should throw the opening tip off. >> Oh, that's not a bad idea. >> They They do that. >> It's not It's a real game, guys. It's. not a G. The ref. The official does it. >> No. You mean AJ? We're talking. ceremonial banana. >> We're talking ceremonial. We're talking. ceremonial opening. >> You know how they do that. >> No, it's a fever game. >> It is at 6:30. Barely 6:30.
>> 6:30. >> I know. >> How are we going to beat traffic? >> You're telling me my freaking garage. gets used by all the people going to the. game. It sucks. >> I understand cuz you're downtown, boy. If this goes in, you know what's. happening tonight. >> No. >> Oh, interesting. Two different things. >> If there are no injuries, the fever. shall win. >> And to that we celebrate. >> Kelsey, >> that can't that doesn't work cuz it was. a football for basketball. You can't do. football. You can't cross.
>> the call, Tone. >> You're right, Tone. >> Oh, no. >> And on that note, let's do it again. >> Shoot the sparkly one. >> Oh, can't do that. >> [ __ ]. >> Got a new camera angle. >> Uhoh. >> I think it's going to be a close game. >> Extra extra braces tonight. >> What do you mean new camera angle? >> Looks like when you cut to that, that's. a different camera angle than usual. It. looks a little higher. >> Uh, it might be zoomed in a little. differently potentially. I don't know if. Bruce removed the cameras or not. I. think that is. yesterday. Yeah, I got no idea if that's. the same as it's always been or or not,
>> which is kind of a fun part of the game. >> If this one goes in, no more injuries in. the football season. >> Okay. All right. >> Okay. What about for hockey? >> Oh, >> that's inevitable. Some guy Some guy's. got a fractured skull already. >> Yeah, I saw that. >> But they're going to play through it, right? >> Yeah, he's a gold medalist. Brock Faber. Savage. >> Actually has a cracked skull. >> Uh I don't think he's playing through. it. actually has a fractured skull on. the on the injury report. >> All right. Hope he gets healthy. Do they.
just tape that? Like what do you put a. helmet on? >> A bunch of duct tape around his head. >> and it kind of goes back together. eventually. >> And the thing is that is just like. considered probably normal amongst the. hockey. Ah, practice skull. You know. what it is. >> [ __ ] duct tape. >> Fable campaign. >> It is probably described as an upper. body. Of course. I can't believe we. found out that that even happened in the. hockey world. >> He did stay in the game. He didn't miss. the next shift game. >> Oh my god. He did have surgery on his. skull. >> This happened in preeason. >> Yeah, >> as you know, >> he cracked his skull open. What do you.
mean? Yeah, just broke his skull. >> Thought he had a headache. >> You get It's tough. The tough thing is. with the cranium. We don't know how fast. that bone is just going to grow back. It's always kind of a fickle thing, you. know, like a hamstring cranium. We just. we tape it, tell them to sleep in a. chair, not lay down, and put a couple. bolts in them like Frankenstein, I'm. pretty sure. Put them back up. >> Yeah. I mean, potentially that is end. all be all for hockey players. They. would do that and expect them to play. >> Drill holes in his helmet so the bolts. are sticking up. >> and then force him to go through like um.
like a metal detector too, you know, just to make everything as hard as. possible. Eat some pucks. >> There's dolphins on the screen right. now. Looks very beautiful. I think. that's a moment of zen. Been having a. lot. >> Oh, I love a moment of zen. >> I I do. >> Yeah. >> I fancy a moment of zen. >> Absolutely. I was I didn't know how I. felt about it at the very beginning. because sometimes that moment is zen is. like a half a second. >> It's like and then we're right back into. something sports normally pretty loud. >> But I'll tell you when a moment is zen. pops up now I can't help but find myself.
going. >> yeah dolphin yep for swimming me around. the ocean right now. >> I get pretty jacked up about that. >> Oh yeah. >> Need it. >> Need it. >> Looks like they don't do that anymore. Do they? >> Straight into big day. >> What? They don't do what? >> I thought they don't let you ride. dolphins anymore. Aren't they claiming. that's a whole thing? with the killer. whales. >> They would be PETA. >> Okay. Well, I'm sure PETA didn't like. >> saying who shuts down these like. operations. Maybe they're just shutting. down like the mom and pop operations. where you go in someone's bathtub and. swim around with the dolphin. >> How many mom and pop uh dolphin meet and.
greet situations you think are out. there? Just so I could kind of get on. the same page as you. >> I've never seen one online or in person, but I I'm sure you would guess with me. like they're probably out there. >> Yeah. Yeah, I mean, we learned a lot. when uh Tiger King hit our lives about. people that have these jungle safaris. that are interestingly licensed and they. have people come pay and do things that. you can ever imagine in the United. States of America bordering on is that. legal or good or ethical and what. happens when they all get out? You know,
that whole thing. I didn't even think. about a potential, you know, mini little. dolphin meet and greet in a backyard. above ground pool that people could be. having just in random. >> random towns around the United States. >> That's Ohio. >> Yeah. I mean, in Ohio, I couldn't even. imagine what those dolphins are doing. too whenever people get in there. >> Oh man. >> You know, we know. >> they're watching. >> Especially going into above ground pool. dolphin meet and. >> greet. They're not happy. >> Better clench your cheeks in there. Were.
you trying to kiss them? >> No. You know, they get behind you and. they push people. clenching your butt cheeks. >> Butt cheeks. >> Yeah. Yes. >> Yeah. Yeah. Cuz you know, they push. people sometimes. You know, you don't. want to get caught. I would imagine. those rogue dolphins in those backyard. situations. >> Sure. >> We know they're sexual beings. They're. going to try to take advantage of. people. >> They are sexual beings. And I think. that's what we're referring to. But. >> I don't know how So how often do you. think about people having dolphins in. their backyard for meet and greets? Uh.
AJ in in. >> me. >> Yeah. >> Uh it just popped in my head honestly 30. seconds ago right now. But yeah, that. whole situation I've seen all the. documentary on the killer whales, >> of course. Yeah. Blackfish, I believe, was the name of the one that really. turned everybody uh against the entire. like, man, that's kind of a mess up. And. then obviously Tate. >> Yeah. Uh, Lolita. Rest in peace. >> Rest in peace to Lolita down there. >> Those whales are very big. >> Yeah.
>> Yeah. They're smart. Very smart. Beautiful creatures. >> They're They're pretty Oh, is that right. type of creatur? >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. Remember when they were doing that. to the boats? >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. >> Oh, that's fun. Welcome to our water. >> Whoa. I'm getting kind of [ __ ]. seasoned. >> HOLY [ __ ] AND THEN ANOTHER one pops up. What's up, [ __ ] Boom. The boat's IN A WAVE POOL. Bang bang. And then another one comes up. Boom. Little kid whale pops up, jumps up out. of there. Bang. >> Capsizes boat.
as they're floating down. >> Yeah. >> Swim away. Find another boat. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Just for fun. >> Yeah. They're not even killing humans. Just No. [ __ ] you. Don't come around. here. >> What's this thing up here? >> They don't care if you drown. They won't. eat you though. But yeah, >> not eat. >> Yeah. But I don't think like dolphins I. see in the movies they come down. underneath and they'll actually go. underneath you and Yeah. >> ride you back up. >> Pick you up. >> You just got to be able to surf I think. because you stand on top, >> right? >> Which is illegal now. >> Surfing on dolphins. >> Yeah. >> See what why can't we just live?
>> I just saw a note from ZTO 2020 uh all. SeaWorlds and stuff outlawed uh surfing. on dolphins. >> That's during flow rider concerts only. at SeaWorld. >> SeaWorld is bringing it. >> Yeah, they do bring it. >> The country. >> I saw the ying. Yeah, you could. definitely do it in like Mexico for. sure. >> Yeah, >> you do anything in Mexico to be honest. >> Yeah, but they don't have Yingang twins. >> No, they don't. >> SeaWorld. >> How'd that become the best venue in. town? >> Yeah, that's a cool venue. Has that been. open for a long time? We're just finding. out. >> I don't know. I think just last couple. years it really started uh deciding this.
is what we're going to do now that we. can't have any whales in here. >> It's actually where the Beatles played. their last concert. >> Soulja Boy. >> Really? >> I didn't know that. >> Before John got killed. Yeah. >> So, it has been going a pretty long time. then. >> Yeah. Wow. Did they just perform over. the whales that were in the water? >> Yeah. >> Wow. Soldier boy. >> They actually did it in a yellow. submarine in the. >> Good call. Here's some dolphins flopping. around in a pool. Uh Mitt just found on. the internet. Who who posted this? Mitt,
where is this? >> Mitch just says, "Here's dolphins. flopping around in a pool.". >> Great pole here. That's. >> looks like SeaWorld. That's right. Nice. pool. >> Yeah, these are certainly some some spry. dolphins kind of going for it. Can we. >> Oh, this is in SeaWorld. Okay, this is. SeaWorld. Still bringing it highlight. >> Good B- roll here. >> Still bringing it. Thank you for that, Mitt. We do need to see what dolphins. look like in there. They're still doing. it. Bringing it. >> All right, if this goes in, this goes in. No more injuries.
>> Okay. Which sport? Okay. >> Dolphins, humans, sports across the. board. There's no chance I was going in ever. All right, let's move along. Injuries. are are. >> inevitable. Sorry, I couldn't help. Sorry, I. couldn't help. Let's talk about uh some. of the headlines happening around the. NFL. Odell Beckham Jr. has been released. from the New York Giants. >> already. Today that happened. Odell. Beckham Jr. and the New York Giants. reunion began at league meetings out in.
Arizona where John Harbaugh and Odell. had a sitdown. There were some rumors. There was some rumblings. There was a. workout. Then there was a buyin to be in. third, fourth, wide receiver, whatever. you need. I'm just excited to be here. And now the Giants have released Odell. Beckham Jr. via Mike Gerafolo and. Rapshi. No senior on the board here at. New York, which is obviously a bit. surprising in the sher world, but Odell. Beckham Jr. getting released. AJ, your. thoughts? I know we had seen him on the. field a lot. We had seen him running a.
lot. He did look open in certain clips. that we would see. He looked like he was. buying in, blocking downfield. Whatever. role you have for me, I'm excited to be. a part of. What do you think this says? And uh what do you think is next for. Odell Beckham Jr. AJ? >> I mean, I think there's a chance another. team could pick him up. He he might be. all right with it. The fact that he's. got he hasn't got on the field really as. a receiver like he hoped to. I wouldn't. be shocked if another team picked him. up, but that's the thing. If you are the. third or fourth receiver, like a team. expects you to play special teams. That's the thing. That's what makes it. really hard as a vet to step on there.
if you're not getting a bunch of playing. time, especially if you're not starting, they're going to need you to be on a. couple of the special teams. And. obviously like a, you know, veteran. receiver like him is probably not going. to be running down on kickoff and be on. kickoff return. So I I understand. probably why they do it, but I still. think Odell could play somewhere else. >> Schultzy on the break as well on the. internet. Uh little latte out there. Congrats to him getting a news break, still bringing it across the board. And. then Ari Mirov quote tweets that and. aggregates and says OBJ by the way had. zero catches for zero yards on one.
target in three games. Kind of piles on. a little bit. >> Those are the facts. >> But can you talk a little bit about OBJ. debut? And to AJ's point, >> some positions, linebacker, running. back, tight end, uh wide receiver, I do. believe if you're down the depth chart. Oh yeah, you are a massive piece of. special teams. Need speed. need speed, need to be able to cover. You're. learning a whole new thing. That might. have been the reason. Maybe there's some. numbers elsewhere that they need to. figure out. Deb, your thoughts on that?
>> Maybe maybe dressing a couple more. quarterbacks u with their quarterback. situation. Who knows? But uh yeah, but. he hasn't been productive. Who knows. what's going on, you know, in practice. or in the meeting rooms, but I'm sure. he's mentally prepared for the game. But. I just feel like we kind of got robbed. of a big chunk of Odell's career because. of injuries, which unfortunately just. happened in this game. But, you know, he. he was special. Had a special career. at. one point. I think he was probably the. most popular uh American football player. in the world for a few years for a. stretch there. Um hopefully he does. bounce back, get on his feet. He's. clearly wants to still play football. I.
love that he bought in, you know, being. one of the most popular players in New. York. So, um hopefully he does get to. continue his career, but uh if not, you. know, good on you. OBJ had a great. career. >> Yeah, the Odell Beckham Jr. athlete. conversation. hopefully remains forever. He talk could. have played soccer professionally, could. have probably did basketball, track, I. think anything he would have been able. to do. Obviously, we've seen him throw a. football like 75 yards, insane catches, still has the speed, the buyin at this.
stage to be the Giants third or fourth, you know, wide receiver I thought was. really cool. Very eager to see what he. does next. Does he continue to try to do. this? Because I think he might run into. the same problem if it is a special. teams problem at every single place. But. maybe we get OBJ returning some kicks. Yeah, maybe. >> maybe we get OBJ this late into his. career returning some kicks. You never. know. I saw him catch a uh kickoff. onehanded whenever we were there for. Monday Night Football. >> Oh, >> so that's end over end. Okay. Coming at. >> so difficult to do.
>> Catches it onehanded and then jogs away, you know, and then his warm-up is just. outrageous, you know, just. >> one-handed catches. Even it it goes. gener like generations down. Like even. my little little kids, like 5-year-old. kids, if they make a one-handed catch, they still call it an OBJ. Like I would. assume that's going to be that's going. to live on for a long time. >> I I don't know if we've got to the. bottom of it. Speaking of the Giants, JJ. McCarthy traded for a fifth rounder. The. thought is, you know, and I think Swagu. made a good point last night. He said. this is like boom or who cares? You.
know, people are saying it's boom or. bust move. It's like it's a fifth. rounder. Maybe he'll be good in the hard. ball system with the Giants and give. them something that they need at the. moment, which is a good backup. quarterback behind Jameus Winston. And. if it doesn't work out, it was just a. fifth rounder. We can find a fifth. rounder if we need it really really bad. in the future. Where do you sit on this. 24 hours later tie of JJ McCarthy going. to the Giants? >> I mean, I suppose I could see that, but. I still I don't think that you're. trading for him if it's just like a like. I I think the intention is that hey, we've seen enough out of Jamus. We don't. want to wave the white flag and punt on.
the season, so we got to try to do. something. I mean, just like his build. and the way he moves and all that kind. of stuff. He's kind of similar to. Jackson Dart. Now, he hasn't had as much. success as Jackson Dart has early, but. it's been it's pretty evident like you I. don't think you can run Jamus out there. every single week. I don't think he's. going to win very many football games. with them. So, maybe JJ does just need a. change of scenery. Maybe he was I mean. he's you assume that he was a top 10. pick for a reason and who knows maybe he. gets there and picks up the offense and.
all of a sudden he kind of salvages. their season but I can't imagine that. you trade him just to be Jameus's. backup. Yeah, it it's like it yes, it. comes in as the backup because they. didn't really have a backup behind. James. Like if James went down, they. were in a very very tough spot, but no, like you trade for him with the idea of. him coming in, I assume, in a couple. weeks and then still having a chance to. potentially win the NFC East cuz that's. definitely up in the air when you look. at that division and cuz no one's been. super impressive. Everyone has their. weaknesses and then see what you could.
do in the playoffs cuz I he's probably. not he's not your quarterback going. forward. Jackson Dart's your quarterback. going forward. Hopefully hopefully he's. healthy and stuff like that and maybe. his injury is worse than it is, but no, I think this is definitely like a hey, this this is our guy that we think we. can potentially win best with this. season. >> Well, JJ McCarthy's career stats with a. great graphic here wearing the number 18. in the graphic. >> He was nine, obviously in Minnesota and. in Michigan. That was a big part of the. conversation. Whenever you get me to. death about getting nined out of your. mind, that's not a great thing. Six and. four.
>> winner record. Pretty good. >> 15 total touchdowns. >> Okay. That's more than interceptions, over 57% completion, 72.6%. passer rating. So JJ McCarthy, we all. watched it. Didn't get to play a lot, okay? Uh because of injuries, and when. he played, there wasn't a lot of great. and then there was a spark of greatness. out of nowhere. Can Harbaugh and the. Giants pull it out of him? Great graphic. there, the number 18. And that's not. because he has the power to be two. nines. >> Oh, >> okay. Which maybe, >> yeah, you never know. His second act.
And as Debbone pointed out, it's not. because 8 + 1 is nine. >> Okay, >> it's potentially because there's a lack. of available numbers with the New York. Football Giants. That's a real thing, you know, cuz you got retired numbers. I. guess you got a lot of taken numbers. I. guess the number 18 is a number that is. not retired. Darius Sllayton, I believe, wore it in the preseason and it's uh. somewhere near uh a relation to nine. So. Debbone took a guess on the number 18. here. Let's go to New York Giants fan. Bruce Brown. Do we think 18 is the.
number that he'll be wearing? And how do. you feel about Debbone piecing together. a graphic showcasing your new. quarterback? >> Um, yeah. I I do appreciate this. graphic. It's a it's a great one. Um, I. I I think 18's a fair guess. You know, two nines stacked on top of each other. 18, you know, 8 plus 1 equals 9. Um, but. I I do agree that it is sort of like a a. who cares or great if he shows some. promise. I don't know if the book's out. on Jamus. back. The second game was in. the Nor Easter. Obviously, he struggled.
against the Rams. Um, but, you know, I. think we kind of give him a pass on the. Nor Eastern game. He didn't turn the. ball over. Now, we see if we, you know, taking on the Cardinals, he can uh throw. the ball or if he's, you know, just kind. of lost a bit. >> Okay. So, Jame is still the guy. And it. it felt like the more information we. got, it was like not necessarily. expecting him like they're just trying. to see if he's maybe a guy that they. want to keep in building. And, uh, I. guess we let it unfold on the field as. we always do. Uh Deshun Watson admitted. that he got a little teareyed when the. fans cheered for him the first time in a.
long long time. Cleveland Browns hosting. Pittsburgh Steelers here for Thursday. Night Football. How do you feel about. the Browns? And how do the Browns fans. feel about the Browns? Because them. chanting and cheering for Deshawn, he. said uh got him a little bit emotional. that maybe this is home and it it hasn't. gone great at all, but maybe it does now. because we got the right guy in Mon and. maybe we have the right offense in. place. How the Browns fans feel about. the Browns? >> I mean, this is a huge game for I'm I'm. around a lot of Browns fans and they are. like, you know, week to week, they can.
be a roller coaster of emotions. No. question. Kind of like Tone Digs with. the Pittsburgh Steelers. There's some. Cleveland Browns fans that have similar. reactions, but they are pumped because. they start thinking, man, what if we can. go win a prime time game against the. Pittsburgh Steelers, a big rival like. that, we're we're truly on our way. So, I think this is kind of like they're. kind of a measuring stick of how good. they are and they feel like if they can. get a win here, then anything is. possible. Browns are seven and0 since. what year? >> 2018. >> They've also won their last nine home. >> on Thursday night football. >> Home Thursday night games. Uh the Browns.
are 10 and two all time at home on. Thursday night. >> Wow. >> Dog pond shows up on a th Thursday for. the dog pound. What have you seen from. the defense of the Cleveland Browns? Obviously a lot of conversation about. Deshawn and the quarterback and how. you're able to move defensively. Are. they still who the Cleveland Browns have. always been? You lose. >> They've been good. They've been good and. starts we always start in the trenches. and Mason Graham who was number five. overall pick material defensive lineman. out of national champion Michigan. Wolverines at the time he's been very. disruptive in the middle of that defense.
you paid Denzel Ward you got Delpit. still out there like they got good. talent on defense now you miss Miles. Garrett and his productions a lot of. people I'm seeing on the internet say oh. maybe Miles was the problem in Cleveland. on the defensive side get a win you get. a win and Deshawn these other young. players Fanny Jr. Judkins, Boston, he. looks like he's going to be a stud. Like. all these players around Deshan, if he. just doesn't go out there and trick it. off, this Browns team has a chance. And. I'm seeing a lot of people also giving. some rub to Todd Manan as a potential.
culture of the year candidate. >> Yeah, I like the way everybody's. pronouncing his name. Uh, am I. pronouncing it wrong? Do we pronounce. the M and the Ken? Cuz he's Da's not the. only one. There's been a lot of Mon. Ken's out there. Yes, monkey ever. Yeah, I believe it's just Monkey. >> That's how it's supposed to be. >> But, uh, Orski was really big on the. Todd Monken. >> So, that's how I heard it. I heard. Orloski say it. >> Now, everyone is. says it. >> Okay. Yesterday. >> Yeah, exactly. And it's Todd Monen. Unless Unless he starts losing, then. it'll be Mon. >> Yeah, I actually spell it M O N K N.
>> Okay. So, and we maybe Todd Monikin. >> Money. Maybe. Uh, I think he's the right. guy for the job. >> Definitely. Absolutely. >> Backwards hat. >> Yeah. >> Wants to be there. >> Dog pound. We need to show up barking on. Thursday night. It's Pittsburgh Steelers. number one division. Will you What else. do we guys need here? What else do we. need? I appreciate where the dog pound. is right now. Long season. Hopefully. they continue to win. Hopefully the. Browns ain't the Browns. Like Todd said,
but Thursday night with the Steelers. coming to town, man, Cleveland gets a. huge win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Especially with how the Steelers looked. this past weekend. Cleveland's going to. be upside down about the possibilities. of not only this year, but maybe. foreseeable future with Monen as their. head coach. >> Browns are also 4-0 against the Steelers. on Thursday Night Football. And I don't. I'm assuming they were not favorites in. any of those games. It's kind of been a. House of Horrors situation recently. since Ben, who basically owned Cleveland. uh retired. It's it's they're getting.
theirs back since Ben retired. Um, yeah, it's it's definitely not a uh not a. gimme on Thursday night. >> Cleveland Browns uh tweet out too, we're. excited to bring back our Rock and Roll. Hall of Fame game for the third year in. a row with a very special Rock and Roll. Hall of Fame inductee halftime. performance, in-game features, and more. It's the prime time main event you won't. want to miss. >> Who's going in? Who's the performance? >> Brett Michaels. >> Is he going in? >> He's already in. He's He went in years. ago, I'm sure.
>> Wuang. Isn't Wuang going in? Oh yeah, Wuang. I They're definitely going into a. Hall of Fame. I'm not sure if. >> Guitars up there. >> uh before the game. Yeah, >> I I remember the maze with his little. glasses on cuz he didn't want to bust. that up. >> Maybe it's MGK. >> Is he going into the Hall of Fame? >> I assume. >> Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We could We. should probably be able to look that up. I I assume that's piece of information. that is findable. And who's going into. the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? AJ. probably knows, right, AJ? Who? >> I don't know. I'm curious as to who it. could be. And what if they're not big. Browns fans? Are they going to be. playing there? >> Yeah. What if it what if they just pull.
anyone who's already in the Rock and. Roll Hall of Fame who's a bronze fan? >> No, it says inductee, right? Doesn't it? If we could uh go back to this, I think. they said inductee with a very special. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. halftime performs. Maybe it's all the. inductees. >> That'd be awesome. >> See who are the. >> I don't know if this is. >> how many go in each year. >> They got Phil Collins, Billy Idol, >> Luther Vandro. >> They're definitely Phil Collins and. maybe Mon Ken on the axe. >> I can feel it. That be something.
>> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. That'd be. >> I went down a rabbit hole. >> that live his live performances of just. that song him just. >> walking. get some drums. >> Did your guys' locker rooms play that. all the time and even college and in the. league we always played that. >> College played it a lot. Um wasn't our. locker room playing. It was like the. coaches and like administration and. everybody kind of playing it like, "Hey, it's a big one tonight.". >> Highlight tape.
>> played twice. >> MC Light. >> is perform at halftime. >> Yes. >> No. >> Will serve as the guest DJ and perform. during the first and second quarter. >> Who the hell is. >> That's not first and second quarter. Talking about halftime right now. >> MC Light, man. >> No, we're talking about halftime. And. then. >> so it has a whole thing like um a. Metallica band member I believe is going. out for the coin toss. Uh now we're. talking. >> Oh no, sorry. Steve Jones of the Sex. Pistols will join for the coin. >> to.
Metallica's doing halftime. >> Uh Kent Wells, longtime producer uh for. Dolly Parton, uh will perform the. national anthem. So it's a it's a whole. >> Can we get to halftime in? >> We're looking Yeah, we're we're looking. at them. It's a surprise halftime. >> Allegedly, it's a secret. >> It's a surprise. I don't want Dolly. Parton's manager singing. >> What do you mean? >> They will announce it on game day. Who. is performing at halftime? >> College game day. >> What a tease from Monkin and the boys. >> That'll be Saturday. We'll be live in. Iowa City. >> Be good to give people a heads up. though.
>> Yeah, before the game, >> right? >> I don't know if we'll announce. That's. crazy. We appreciate the honor. >> It's MC Light. Metallica's involved in. some fashion. Steve Jones, the Sex. Pistols is involved in some fashion. Uh. the manager, sorry, the producer for. Dolly is doing the national anthem and. then we'll find out about halftime. >> Well, yeah, but you think Mars Olri's. going to be there. Maybe. >> Maybe he might be. >> This has got huge letd down written all. over it. >> No, that would be old Browns.
>> It would be. You know, you're right. You're right. M Ken would not let this. happen. >> Maybe hologram Freddy Mercury I'm. reading potentially. Oh, >> yeah. >> You didn't read that. >> No, I didn't. But. >> that would be sweet. >> Could be Oasis. They might bring the. Gallagher lads on. >> Oasis is not performing at the halftime. of a Browns game. >> Not with the Man City charges going on. They're not doing anything right now. >> Tommy Tugle comes out. You know that. song? >> [ __ ] right.
>> And after. they might suck, huh? >> Third Eye Blind might play it. Yeah, I. think there's a good chance. >> every name we've just said, I just don't. see him agreeing to this. >> No, me neither. >> Nope. Someone's got to be Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden's the one. >> Okay, let me hear uh Iron Maiden song. that I like just the rhythm of it so I. could catch on to it. >> Nobody's got it. >> Nobody question marks everywhere. >> MC Light Cold Rock A. They might have to. just run with that. >> I mean, maybe MC Light does.
>> Terry in the halftime. >> I was doing a lot of reading. Did we. find Do I know who the inductees are? >> Oh, yes. Please. Can you please do give. us the induct? >> So, it's Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron. Maiden, uh, Oasis, Luther Vandro, uh, Wuang Luther. >> I call him Luther Vandro. >> It's [ __ ] Oasis, dude. It's going to. go nuts. It's going to go hard as [ __ ]. And I know you're nervous. >> Sade, who I'm not uh familiar with. And. >> shade A. See, not familiar with. And, uh, >> Joy Division.
>> Okay. So, >> and. >> uh did I miss one? >> Kid Cudy. >> Queen Latifah. Queen. >> Oh, but that's influence award. That's. not for performer. >> Yeah, but Queen, she's a part Queen. Latifah is a part of The Voice, right? >> Yeah. See, that see this season of The. Voice is bringing it. >> Yeah, of course it is. Riley Green's out. there too, right? Yes. >> And Kelly Clarkson and. >> Kelly. It goes Kelly, Riley, Queen, and. Adam in order in their chairs. >> Oh, and they're going to find it. >> Oh, they find it. >> They're going to find it. >> Good for them. Having a good time. So. maybe Queen Latifah is.
>> um Iron Maiden. >> Phil Collins hasn't been in yet. Is this. Phil Collins is just getting into. performs? >> I wonder if I wonder if Phil Collins is. Do people turn that down. >> Phil Collins. >> Phil Collins. >> like Rock and Roll Hall of Fame cuz. we're all wondering how Phil Collins. hasn't gotten in yet. >> No, I think they complain about it and. then once they get inducted they're. pumped, but they say before they get. inducted, they say it's garbage. >> He was technically in as a member of. Genesis, his original band, >> but as a solo act, he is now going. >> Gotcha.
Maybe honestly that could happen. That. could happen. >> That song's Genesis. >> No, that one was just. >> That's him. Yeah. >> Well, fun fact, >> he's druming into. >> that one alone should have got. >> the Steelers came out to that to win. their Super Bowl. So, that might. backfire on the Browns if they pull that. one up. >> But he might do Take Me, what is it? The. one they play in Monday Night Football. now. Take me home tonight. >> That's Eddie Money, dude. >> That's Eddie Money. That's a great Eddie. Money, too. Check out Paradise. Take. take me home. >> I think it's still called. >> I don't remember. >> That's not really a half banger. That's.
a studio. Maybe. >> Phil Collins has not been put into the. Hall of Fame yet as himself with uh. Felic coming in there tonight. >> And we think he's just offering up his. services for a halftime show. Uh. >> I can't wait to find out. >> Does he love ball? >> He lives in London. He's not [ __ ]. coming to Cleveland to do the halftime. show. Not a chance. When's the ceremony. for? >> Who Who lives within four miles of the. stadium that's going into the Hall of. Fame? I think that might be who we're. getting. >> MGK. >> He's not going in the hall.
>> They might put him in. >> They're just putting Phil in. MJ MGK. ain't going in. >> I don't think Phil has played live since. like 2022. He's got a lot of help. >> That would be huge if he did that for a. Browns Steelers AFC North Clash on. Thursday Night Football. >> Grew up a Browns fan. >> Maybe. We don't know. Maybe. Phil, >> we don't know. >> He loved the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. so much he fell in love with the team. Um, >> so what? DJ EV, I think is who I saw at. that wedding. >> Yeah,
>> he going in. >> They should think about having him just. kind of. >> Do they have DJs in the Rock and Roll. Hall of Fame? I would imagine someone's. got in. >> Avichi's got to be. >> DJ Diesel. Shaq should go in at some point. >> He just performed somewhere, right? Was. he in Brazil? >> New Orleans. >> New Orleans. >> New Orleans. How about Stephen Aid that. in Brazil? Yeah. I mean, he did a whole. Brazilian trip. JJ Watts stood in piss. >> Yeah. I kind of got to the bottom of the. whole international thing when I saw Raj. on the beach this weekend. He's just. getting vacations paid for. That's why.
he's so big on the international. schedule. >> Okay. So, acting like one particular. person is uh reaping the benefit of a. country investing in a league is. certainly. >> not a bad thought, especially with what. we've seen in the past with other sports. organizations potentially getting uh. incredible treatment. Nonetheless, that. game in Brazil, especially with I think. the zone has had football rights, NFL. rights in Brazil for a long time. Italy, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Canada, um.
>> everywhere but here, Ireland maybe. >> No, but these were their big remember. they these were the big countries. They're like, "Hey, they like football a. lot." And if Brazil was one of those. countries and I was very surprised by. it. I I I was taking this is five, six. years ago whenever we learned maybe. seven years ago at this stage. Seven, eight years ago, Brazil was one of the. countries that were like they love. football, they love ball down there and. at least it's growing. The game that. they had down there, I think we can. count that country as becoming an. American football massive fan. And I.
like that we're taking the game. international. Uh but boy, that game. back here. >> in one of those stadiums. Imagine that. in Baltimore, >> what that would have looked like. immediately afterwards or that in Dallas. >> as that thing all kind of collapses. around. The scenes would have been, not. that it wasn't in Rio, but the scenes in. uh home stadiums would have been. absolutely absurd as well. 7se second. with a scramble with a throw that causes. the wide receiver Z Flowers to jump. Getting that done and then saying we.
knew it was a six-second route. That's. just [ __ ] the attention to detail is. insane in the NFL. That's why when. people always, you know, that played. like high school football and very good. high school football, I'm not judging. you. I love that you played football in. high school and everything like that, but whenever these people who say, "I. used to play football. You never want to. do that." It's like these [ __ ] that. are coaching in in the NFL spend every. single second of their life trying to. turn over some stone that could help. them have a little bit of an advantage.
Knowing that that route took exactly six. seconds, that that information doesn't. just fall from the sky. You have to work. that, rep that, research that. You have. to do everything in that moment. And. then you have to execute and call that. in the moment. Not saying that people. that don't play. I don't understand a. lot of the [ __ ] that's happening in the. NFL. And I was very lucky to be in the. rooms where NFL people were. So, it's. just like the attention to detail, the. amount of buyin, the amount of execution. at the highest level that has to happen. just for this one play. And then, oh. yeah, you got to knock home a 56-yd.
field goal. The snap to the kick has to. be less than 1.3 seconds. The snapper. has to snap it exactly laces perfect. The holder has to get it down. And you. need to strike that thing high enough. that it doesn't get blocked. It has to. stay true enough in another country with. the turf that everybody was wondering if. it's good or not as you attack that. ball. It's just like there's so much. [ __ ] that has to happen just for that 7. seconds to take place. And it feels like. the Ravens have that figured out and. executable here early, which makes me. say situationally feels like the Ravens.
have it figured out and they certainly. have enough talent. Is this the year for. the Ravens with Jesse Mentor in his. first year as a head coach? >> I mean, it just might be. You talked. about it first year as a head coach, Declan Doyle, first year play caller. You obviously have a veteran quarterback. with Lamar Jackson, so that helps, but. we you talked about it earlier like you. walk through these situations, but like. that play that that situation doesn't. actually happen. maybe I mean probably. twice a season once or twice a season. I. don't know if this has ever happened. this particular situation ever happened. even like Lamar Jackson's career and you.
walk through and then once this happens. on on Sunday all the teams the next week. they're going to play this in a meeting. We're going to play this in the defense. Hey hey this is the situation. This is. how you executed. This is how we would. have executed it. Even with the kickoff. maybe the special teams unit is talking. about that. So it just comes down to. this and who knows this may be the. difference and then winning the division. or not or having home field in the. playoffs. All these games, all these. situations matter and it gets kind of. monotonous throughout the year, throughout the season and then boom, it. happens in one of the biggest games or. biggest moments in the season for a. player, a coach, whoever. But.
everybody's got to be on the same page. in that situation. So that's that's. unbelievable. >> Kickoff, timeout at 14 seconds. I mean, just so much went into football there in. the final seconds. I assume the people. in Rio thought to themselves, this is. cinema. This is magic. And for a soccer. stadium to have a field goal kick end. it. Love everything about it. Brady. Kachchuck talking about tonight's. opening at 5:00 as the Panthers in the. Hurricanes kickoff or tip off or drop. the puck on the NHL season. MLB wild.
cards tonight. We got football stories. in abundance and uh life is magical. Duty anything we missed that we should. have hit today? >> I think we hit it all. We hit all the. sports. WNBA, MLB, hockey, obviously. football. I do have a question though. for the hockey lads back there. What uh. exactly does Brady Chuck bring to my. squad? We know we know Chucky. We know. >> sandpaper, grit, jam, goals, greasy. goals in front of the net, tips, deflections, big checks to turn the. tide, big fight to get the boys going.
Leadership. >> Okay, sounds like it'll fit right in. >> Everything you want in a hockey player. >> Yeah, the Kachchuck brothers are actual. Bash Brothers, you know, from Mighty. Ducks. >> Yep. >> That's them. >> Bash Bros. >> Yeah, that's how they like emulated. them. >> You've se Ducks, right? They started the. playoffs last year. >> Seen highlights. I've seen clips. >> Oh man. >> Mighty Ducks. >> Yeah. Seen clips. >> There's How many of them are there? >> Knuckle Puck. >> Three that you need to see. >> All three of them. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> You don't know Adam Banks. There's. >> no way they made three good movies. >> They did. They did. You know who is?
>> I do know him. >> In my humble opinion, >> he can make six good ones. >> D2. Yeah. D3 is my personal favorite. >> But D1 you need to watch. >> Have to. >> Yeah. You got Yeah.
