we're incredibly lucky that on this. glorious Tuesday, just like all the. other Tuesdays of this season, we are. joined by a man who has coached football. for 47 years. Now, he's our coach. Ladies and gentlemen, Coach BA. Good to see coach, you look fantastic. today. I want to let you know everything. is vibing, everything is going. fantastically, very unlike THE DALLAS. COWBOYS. NINE-YEAR NFL VET, DARIUS J. Butler is. here. Now, toxic table at Boston Connor and at. Ty Schmidt. Just like I said earlier.

when he came in, this is Darius Butler. Darius Butler is a nine-year NFL vet, one of the best brains in the history of. football, so incredibly athletic, and we. haven't seen him in a while. You know. why? Why's that? Great dad. Like great. dad. Has been since the day that I met. him. Most offseasons and summers were. spent me following along with his. socials, with his kids traveling around, driving around, and now they're at the. age of playing like competitive sports, I do believe, and his daughter, Milan, >> Yes. is competing on the high school.

golf team, and uh last week you were at. a tournament, yesterday you were at a. tournament. How's it going? She's a. freshman, and sounds like she has picked. up the Darius Butler incredible. [laughter] athletic genes, it sounds. like. >> she's a dog, she's a worker, she's a. grinder. Um and I didn't expect her out. of any of the kids to be the golfer cuz. she hates being outside, she hates bugs, she hates sweating, but she picked up. the game, and uh she's been grinding a. little more than a year, and uh she went. as a freshman, and we know how it is. going in and getting on like a high. school team and actually competing with. especially something that you haven't.

been doing a long time. So, freshman. competing on a varsity team, and then. last week was districts, and then this. was the regional. Um and this is where, you know, the run ended for her freshman. season, but she played her best golf. against her best competition. So, you. know, as a dad, that makes you proud to. see um to see how they grow, especially. with golf because it's such a game where. it's like very much like a kicker or a. snapper, hey, it's your turn. Everybody's watching you, all eyes on. you, and I can um you know, I can't. understand even how rattling that could. be, especially for like a high school. young girl and all those things. So, to.

see her battle and grind, and her team, a couple of teammates will probably. advance to states. Um but uh it was. awesome to be there to see it, um you. know, to break all the rules cuz as. parents, you're not supposed to be able. to talk, you're not supposed to be able. to help, and I'm like, hey, you know, I. can't give away my uh my uh techniques. and how I get my communication through. You're sending signals? But uh we we we. we got we got some communication down, so um when I'm there, uh her mom is. afraid to break the rules, so it's a. little different when I'm there, but it. was awesome to be able to watch um and. and now I'm obviously miss miss being. here as well. >> Now, listen, Florida high school sports,

I know what they did to Teddy. Bridgewater, maybe you need to dump. everything in there. >> [laughter]. >> D But is not sending any signals to his. daughter while she is golfing as a. freshman uh in the tournaments, but I. would like to let you know, we're. incredibly pumped for your entire. family. Preciate I assume it was very. emotional over there. We saw the clip of. her almost chipping in, that is awesome. I I mean, that is absolutely incredible. Good luck. We think sports are a. necessity for the development of humans. So, uh the fact that your daughter is. obviously getting a chance to compete, and she's playing her best at the. highest level against her best. opponents, dog. Excited. And now she.

takes that into the offseason. Oh, yeah. And we only get better and better. Coach. BA, uh you it feels like coaches always say. they view their team as like their kids. and stuff like that, and you have to. kind of act as a father figure for a lot. of people in a lot of different. situations. Whenever you start seeing. guys and their kids start to have. success, I couldn't even imagine with. guys that have uh played in the league, and then their kids are in the league as. well, and you're in there. You're a. massive piece of that entire process and. the entire like kind of grand scheme of. thing. >> Yeah, I never saw myself as a father. figure. I was that cool uncle that you.

want to have a drink with. >> [laughter]. >> Yeah. Everybody's got that uncle, you know. Yes, they definitely do. And uh but. yeah, at uh. on the right on the driving range. Saturday, Ben Roethlisberger is down. there with his son, Benjamin, and Oh, yes. That little joker got me good. We. gave him a stroke a hole, and he shot. 77. Who? That kid? Benjamin, yeah. Yeah. >> He's he's won a couple tournaments. already, and okay, buddy, I'm getting. you next time. I think he's doing the. drive, chip, and putt. I think he's. >> Oh, that's that's the younger one. Yeah, like winning the drive Yeah, I think. Roethlisberger's kids are about to be on.

I'm. happy to as hell that Ben Roethlisberger. is doing a football and podcast. Let's. talk a little bit about football. Cardinals very good last night. Cowboys. ass. Cowboys immediately make a trade. Jerry Jones is saying, I'm sitting on. one of my back pocket. I got one if I. want to make it, if I want to. Now, do. What I'd rather make a trade for the. Dallas Cowboys or hit that honey hole 3. mi down where I can get that $100. billion worth of natural gas? Give me B. anytime of the day. But since I can get.

Logan Wilson here, linebacker from the. Cincinnati Bengals to the Dallas. Cowboys, let's go ahead and make that. move. Uh they do that immediately after. the loss, and uh you know, a lot of. people are saying, Troy Aikman included, they're going to need to do a lot more. than just get one player to make this. team good. I think there's a lot of. question marks on how the hell the. Dallas Cowboys are going to kind of. react and how they're going to go. forward. We all agree that Dak. Prescott's a good player. I think. everybody kind of says that, but that. team seemingly never really going to get. going. Now, and on the flip side, just a. few years back, I was calling for Jacoby.

Brissett to be MVP quarterback, MVP of. the entire league here at Indianapolis. Since his early days, whenever he was a. third-string quarterback for the New. England Patriots, he's always been able. to get on the field and spin it. He's. always been able to lead. He seemingly. always knows what he's supposed to do in. every single offensive system that he's. ever been in. Whenever he was with the. Colts, he was backing up Andrew Luck at. one point. He was the one like running. the meetings. He is like the guy. Bill. Parcells, I think, Big Tuna, kind of. influenced him uh throughout high school. and everything like that. Marvin. Harrison Jr. has a massive day. McBride,

their weapon at tight end, is scoring a. lot of touchdowns now that Jacoby. Brissett's the quarterback as opposed to. when Kyler's the quarterback. There's a. lot of those stats coming, and Gannon's. culture seemingly settling in. They lose. three games by like what, two points or. something like that. So, their record. isn't great. Still got nine games left, obviously, in the season, and a lot can. happen in that. But this Cardinals team. might be real. Hey, don't look now, the. Arizona Cardinals might not be ass. They. might actually be very good football. team, especially with Jacoby at. quarterback. >> Absolutely. And Danno said it when he.

was on the show like, you know, they're. better than their record and their two. and five record coming into this game. And we all know in the league, we always. say, "Hey, look, you are what your. record is." So, these games a lot of. times they come down to one drive or. they're offensively or defensively, but. Jacoby Brissett he can run the ship. He. is a starting quarterback in this. league. The offense just looks better. with him under under him. He's he's fine. along. The defense they can play well. Will Johnson I thought he made some big. time plays. He's been a good rookie. I. thought he could have got drafted higher. coming out of Michigan than Simmons, the.

Ohio State Buckeye had that a good rip. out at the end of the game. But they're. physical team. Gannon's culture is. coming along. You see how he dealt with. the the off the field thing with the. running back. I think he took ownership. This team is going the right way. That's. a tough division. It's a tough division. Very very very good division. So, we'll. see how far they can go this season, but. they have weapons on the outside. Marvin. Harrison Jr. came along. McBride is one. of the best tight ends in the National. Football League. So, yeah, they can. roll. Yeah, they can definitely roll. And and speaking of that, here's some. Hembo stats. Least time trailing this.

season Seahawks. about an hour or so, you know, Cardinals. hour 30. So, Packers hour 50. Rams hour. 56. And look at the records versus the. Cardinals. That's why everybody was so. like kind of excited to see if they. could put it together. Jacoby is their. quarterback. They certainly look like. they're a real team. And then on the. other side, Cowboys just are they ever. going to be able to get it right? BA, what's your takeaway from last night? Is. it more about Cardinals more about the. Cowboys in your eyes? I thought it was. more about the Cardinals. They've been. so close. And I you know, talked to some.

people out there last week. We did an an. interview. I said, "Just make a damn. play." All they need is one guy to make. They lost what? Three games on a field. goal the last play of the game in their. division, which is maybe the one of the. toughest divisions. And uh. I think with Jacoby Brissett he's calmed. them down. And uh their defense is playing lights. out. Yeah, I think the Cardinals can. really make a move. Hell, why not the. Cardinals? And congrats to Bidwell. Yeah. Unbelievable. Just a couple years. ago and I mean even your record now. So, I don't even want to act like life is. great right now. It certainly can't be,

but just a couple years back they were. getting F minus F minus F minus F minus. F on everything in the building, okay? Team was still able to win somehow and. still able to be good whenever BA was. there in the couple different eras. But. then they were just like, "Ah, we pay a. a quarterback. We put a clause in there. they can't play video games certain. amount of hours." It's like, "Okay.". Whoa. What's going on here? And then you. know, they're in a division that's very. good. And then they would win some games. and then inevitably lose a lot more. games. And it's like it felt like they. were potentially going to be in just a.

spin cycle. We got a BS or no BS with BA. later that's going to maybe answer that. question. Like what does he think. ownership and what does he think the. Cardinals are going to do going forward? Cuz the stats are getting loud. Yeah. Okay, stats getting loud. Look at them. both. Losing records. Uh-oh. Losing. records both of them got it. But points. per game 25.7 versus 18.8. That's that's. a touchdown, brother. It's a full. touchdown. That's a full touchdown. And. yards per game that you go ahead and put. that math together, too. That's about. seven yards almost a full football. field. So, if it's touchback you're scoring a. touchdown there. That's another. touchdown right there in yards per game.

So, Jacoby Brissett has certainly looked. good with the Arizona Cardinals. They. have a losing record. Who knows what. they are going forward. What we do know. is today. it's trade deadline day. That's right. Whoa. 4:00 p.m. today teams have an. opportunity to say, "We are a good team. We want to be a great team. Let's go get. the one missing piece." Most recently, Jacoby Myers traded from the Raiders to. the Jacksonville Jaguars. Congrats to. the Jacksonville Jaguars making moves. here at the trade deadline to try to. make their team even better. That has to. feel good if you are a Jacksonville.

Jaguars fan. Jacoby Myers. coming from the Raiders. Brian Thomas. Jr. number one wide receiver dealing. with a little bit of an injury. Travis. Hunter obviously another wide receiver. for their team currently on IR. So, Jacksonville Jaguars were a little bit. light in the wide receiver department. They tried to make a play. Adam Schefter. broke that news. I believe he'll be. joining us here in a Ladies and. gentlemen, senior NFL insider at ESPN. Adam Schefter. Schefter, thank you for joining us. This. is kind of going to be the thing today.

We will just cold FaceTime you as the. trades come through your Twitter. account. Tell us about the Jacoby Myers. trade and how did everybody know Jacoby. was on the market? Well, he had asked for a trade earlier. in the season, Pat. And the Raiders knew. that he was on an expiring contract set. to expire after this year. So, when. Jacksonville stepped up and offered a. fourth and sixth round pick. makes sense for a Raiders team that's. going to want to draft capital to go out. and move him for that particular turn. Jacksonville had been today with 13.

draft picks. Even after this move and. trading their one to Cleveland last. April, they still have 11 draft picks in. the 2026 NFL draft. And so, Jacksonville. wanted to shore up the wide receiver. position. We've got Travis Hunter on IR. with a knee injury. He's out definitely. at least three more weeks quite possibly. longer. And they also have Brian Thomas, their wide receiver. He's got a low. grade high ankle sprain. So, he now he.

thinks he might be able to play this. week, but you don't know. And they. wanted to do everything they can to get. him healthy. Hey, YOU'RE COVERING THE. SPEAKER. YOU'RE COVERING THE SPEAKER I. THINK. You're covering. I'm trying to figure out what's best the. speaker or the average. The speak We'd. like to be able to hear YOU. YOU CAN'T. COVER YOU'RE COVERING THE SPEAKER I. think again right now. Don't don't You. got to leave the speaker open so we can. hear the voice go into it. You were kind. of cutting into it. You're talking about. the injuries around Jacksonville there. whenever you you kind of cut apart. Jacoby Myers good good fill in for them.

for that particular department. And. Jacoby Myers you said asked for a trade. Were there more people interested? More. teams interested? And. how indicative is that of the rest of. the day for some of the teams that maybe. didn't get Jacoby Myers? Well, the one team that that also called. in. How do I get myself in the picture? Here. we go. The one team Figured out, brother. was Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh expressed. some interest in Jacoby Myers, but. obviously Jacksonville really stepped up. to get something done here. Those are the two teams I think that.

really. wanted to add Myers to their roster. I. know Buffalo's been mentioned, but. Buffalo did not check in on Jacoby Myers. to my understanding. They were. interested in other players. Jacksonville, like I said, Travis Hunter. out with a knee injury. Brian Thomas Jr. has a low grade high ankle sprain. He. thinks he can play Sunday. So, we'll see. how that works out for them. But they. want to give Trevor Lawrence as many. weapons as possible. this team in position to make the. playoffs. So, they add Jacoby Myers. today. You're the man. We appreciate. you. One of the best. But that's what. trade deadline day is. We have no idea. what's going to happen. I assume there's. some things that are about to come out. of left field even for Adam Schefter. because any trade is possible. Yesterday. we put this graphic up about the. potential trade candidates. Jacoby Myers. is on there. And the possible buyers we. had Jacksonville Jaguars on there. Yeah. So, I mean if you put more than half the.

league on there and you're going to hit, we did. Yeah. So, I'm pretty I'm pretty. proud about that. Way to go, D-Bone. D-Bone piecing some things together. Any. trade being possible is fascinating. BA, whenever you're a coach and you know. your team's close and you see your team. make a play and like trade for a player, how do you go about handling introducing. guy to team? For instance, Christian. McCaffrey was traded from the Panthers. to the 49ers at the trade deadline. middle of the season. 49ers pretty good. team, okay? Pretty good team. Christian. McCaffrey gets there. Kyle Shanahan.

comes out very openly and says, "Hey, this is Christian McCaffrey's team. We're going to give him the ball in the. backfield. We're going to throw it to. him. We're going to let him throw the. ball." They do that immediately. If you. get one of these weapons, what is it. like for a coach trying to make sure. that person feels comfortable while also. not maybe ruffling any feathers with the. locker room that you currently have? Yeah, and most of the time it's because. of injuries, you know, and you got a. good football team. You got a chance. maybe to get into the dance. So, one guy. can make the difference. And you don't. really have to say much. The guys are. excited. They Hey, they're pumped. We. made a move.

Coach believes in us. We think we can. win this thing. One missing piece. Embrace this guy. Let's get him going in our system right. away. Let him feel our culture right. away. And let's roll. Did you guys make. any big trades? I I mean obviously the. Pittsburgh Steelers weren't really known. for doing that during the trade deadline. whenever you were there. Colts we traded uh. I think Boom Herron was our running back. at the time. He was doing Boom Booms. after the crowd was starting to say boo. like there was He was starting to like. catch on a gimmick like Boom was. actually becoming like a guy. And then. all of a sudden we trade for Trent. Richardson. Everybody was like, "Okay. All right, we're going to get Trent. Richardson. Okay, okay, that's going to. be a thing." And then it felt like the. coaches felt obligated to like. force-feed him if that makes sense. Like. that that it was almost like okay, he's. worth the number one. I think we had a. Ahmad Bradshaw, too. They. Bradshaw came after We may have Vick. Ballard.

Yes. I don't know if he had started his. run yet, but he was drafting in that. same luck draft class. But yeah, Trent. Richardson was like the third pick in. that same draft? >> Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Trent was nice. I don't I don't know if he felt as. comfortable with coming into our locker. room as maybe other places. I I think. you know it was like an interesting. time. I I don't. >> He told the story about that actually. Trent Richardson did about how that's. kind of like when he lost his love for. football was when he was traded from. Cleveland to Indy because he just always. assumed like I'm always going to be a. Cleveland Brown. I was a top five pick.

Like this is my home just like Alabama. And he said that's when he realized you. know the NFL's a business versus what he. was used to. >> a bit jaded whenever. we don't we don't want you anymore. But. you would hope that the spin is like. well this team loves you so much. So you. come there and I don't know how those. conversations went or whatever. But. obviously with Jim Irsay tweeting about. it was going to be big. But yeah you. could you could sense that that kind of. was. And you know he was once again. Trent was always cool to me. I felt like. we had good relationship but it went how. it went here. And we had a very we had a.

good team. Like we had a a good team and. and how we were rolling there. But I. remember thinking to myself it would be. so sweet if we did get like a game. record. >> Yeah. Like Randy Moss gets traded you. know in the middle of season. Everybody. in New England. where are Randy Moss? Like that type of. move could happen today for an entire. team an entire building an entire fan. base. The Titans traded edge rusher. Dre'Mont Jones to the Ravens for a. conditional fifth round pick per. sources. Now congratulations to the.

Ravens making a play. Coach BA what are your thoughts on edge. rusher Dre'Mont Jones going from the. Titans who you know we all kind of see. it. We all kind of see what's happening. with them this year although we believe. Cam Ward's the guy. They've already. fired their coach. They're in the middle. of a transition era. And then the. Baltimore Ravens are trying to go on a. run here late. What do you think the. addition of Dre'Mont does for the. Baltimore Ravens? I think it's huge. because their pass rush has been inept. at best. And and this guy can rush the. passer. And uh he's going to be able to. use Kyle Van Noy different ways. And.

he's such a multiple he could play so. many multiple spots. And you get him on. the edge maybe Kyle rushing on a weakest. link in the offensive line. I I think. they'll do a hell of a job with him and. he's going to be a big upgrade for him. Here's the Ravens edge rusher stats from. Hembo here this season for the ends and. outside linebackers. 39 that's fewest. Six sacks that's 28th out of 32. 19. quarterback hits that's 27. Everybody's. talking about how that defense is. Well. whenever you can't get to the. quarterback and whenever you can't apply.

any pressure at all it's going to be. hard to do anything else. You know you. look at the defenses that are good their. front four very good. The teams that. aren't good on defense normally front. four not that good. Usually have to. steal Peter or rob Peter to pay Paul. Whenever your front four aren't great. you got to take somebody from somewhere. else and kind of shore that up before. anything else. Whenever you take. somebody from somewhere else guess. what's missing now? Something from. somewhere else. So when we talk about. the best defenses getting your trenches. figured out is the most important part. of it all. >> Yeah and it feels like you can't have. too many pass rushers or offensive.

lineman. Like no matter what when it. comes to playoffs there's always a team. that's there that you know is banged up. on O line or pass rush and it seems to. be the Achilles heel for a lot of. playoff teams once they get there. Like. they traded one of their guys. away Odafe Baltimore did to the. Chargers. So it kind of feels like a. replacement there but I mean this is one. of those dudes who as a Patriots fan who. played Tennessee he was one of their. standout players for sure. >> sick necklace too. I like the boxing and. swag will fit in that Baltimore locker. room I do believe. D Butkus your.

thoughts? >> I'm I'm right there with you. It always. starts with up front. You saw yesterday. with when the Eagles traded for Jalen. Phillips. Like when they went on that. run and getting Brandon Graham back. that'll help too. But when they went on. that run it started with those guys up. front. Whenever you can rush four and. create havoc in that backfield for in. the run game and in the pass game it. helps the DBs out tremendously. So. that's always a big boost. >> He said conditional fifth rounder we're. getting more details. Albert Breer says. the condition on the Ravens Titans trade. if Dre'Mont Jones has at least two sacks. over the rest of the regular season and.

Baltimore makes the playoffs Tennessee. gets a fourth round pick rather than a. fifth round pick. These are all part of. negotiations. Well what if he's really. good for you guys and you guys turn it. around you guys are on 500 and I will. turn into a fourth rounder. Deal. Let's go ahead and make that. happen. Now if they're ass and they. don't and don't make the playoffs. obviously the Baltimore Ravens have an. easier deal than the Tennessee Titans. Now are the Ravens going to be able to. go on a run? That is the question. Are. the Cardinals going to be able to go on. a run? That is question. And then the. Dallas Cowboys did. Okay. Dallas Cowboys.

bring in Mr. Wilson at linebacker. Who. is their linebacking core currently. there for Dallas? >> Kenneth Murray has been their middle. linebacker came over from the Chargers. former Oklahoma Sooner. Um he can run he's sideline to sideline. guy can be a little light in the ass at. times and you can struggle downhill. overshown. I think his window opened up. for him to get back healthy and get back. in the lineup for them as well. But. Logan Wilson he's a good player. Now he. fell out of good graces in Cincinnati. We don't know what really went on behind.

closed doors. Maybe you wanted some. younger play players maybe some. different players in the system. But he. was the guy for for Lou Anarumo's. defense for that run the AFC. Championship run. And over the last five. and a half years he leads all middle. linebackers with you see it right here. on this Shefty tweet with 11. interceptions. So he can get his hands. on the ball make plays. Smart guy can. get guys lined up. I'm sure he won't. have a problem picking up this defense. Obviously he won't fix everything in. Dallas. It'll be a group effort. But. yeah he's he's a good player to add to. to your core. Are they dead Donna? In.

Dallas. You know Jerry's coming out and. saying hey you can call me Jerry. Kardashian. You know cuz I'm not scared just make. sure we're topic of conversation. Now is. that necessarily mean we can't win. games? No I'm not saying that. But we. are I'm going to make sure we are. certainly in the middle of controversy. if needs be. You're you're going to be. talking about my team. Now the entire. conversation following that is like. Jerry's telling the truth now. Jerry's. at the stage of life where he's just. going to go ahead and let me go ahead. and give you guys my actual feelings and.

and Mac Jones. Mac Jones been playing. well, spinning it, but when you got all. that guaranteed money to Brock Purdy, you assume when he comes back and he's. fully healthy, he'll take over. But it's like the entire. offense is much more comfortable. whenever they know that the quarterback. understands the entire offense. So like. whenever the guy who is kind of making. the decisions and setting everybody up. and ultimately making, you know, the play to work or not work, when that. person has a understanding of. everything, I feel like everybody buys. in a lot more. Like Danny Dimes just.

knowing exactly what every play is. supposed to be and putting everybody in. the right position, I think that. inspired and motivated Jonathan Taylor. I think Jonathan Taylor knew he was. coming into a season where he was going. to be put in the best position basically. every single play. I think the offensive. line was inspired coming into the season. that they know that the guy behind them. is going to be on the same page as them. and also put them in the best position. possible. And then the wide receivers, I. think they came into the year knowing, "Hey, if I'm open, this guy's going to. get me the ball and he's not going to. miss me by 15, 16 yards." I think just. whenever you have somebody that can.

execute the offense, kind of make make. sure everything is right for the. offense, I think it's more so than just. on the field. I think off the field it. motivates to your point. >> too. >> Yeah, every even the coaches, I guess. That's a lot better for you guys. whenever the quarterback is like a coach. on the field as opposed to somebody that. maybe isn't there yet in a full. understanding of what's supposed to. happen every play. you know, you say see north, they're. saying your father's father's NFC north. This is a powerhouse. The north is. coming. Could you imagine wild card. weekend with that many NFC north squads. out there battling? Yeah, I mean that is. the I mean if you're a team in the NFC. north, I don't I don't love the idea of. having to play a divisional game in, you. know, the first round of the playoffs. Like that just, you know, a team that. knows what you want to do and I mean who. knows, but we'll see. I mean there. there's a chance too. Like you guys have. talked about it. Like I don't I think.

this year especially has really. illuminated the fact that if you have a. good team and you make a big, you know, stride year over year and you did finish. last in your division the previous year. Like that schedule does set up for you. very well. You know, you look at who the. Lions and the Packers have to play, you. know, in these non-division or. non-conference games compared to who. like the Bears and the Vikings have to. play. Like it's I guess not the Vikings. They were in second place last year, but. the Bears especially. It's like they are. much better than they were last year and. they have that light schedule. Where if.

developed a little later. in my high school career. When I was. going to these camps, I saw guys that. had faster legs than me. And I would. always ask them like, how are you guys. getting your legs faster? Like because. at the end of the day, that's what gets. you the most power on the ball. And so, you know, started developing a. faster leg. And now it's like my best. trait as a kicker because obviously I'm. a 6'1, 175-pound guy that cannot squat a. huge amount. So everyone always asks me, what How do you kick the ball so far? I. think ball contact and leg speed is the. key to kicking the ball so far and high.

Yeah, you're hitting the ball sweet. Every time you're hitting that ball. sweet, which is not easy. You know, Vinatieri, I was very lucky to. work alongside. Obviously everybody in. the kicking world knows Adam Vinatieri. Vinny, whenever I got there, you know, I. used to be a kicker in college and I had. a strong leg, but I had no idea where. the ball was going. So his big thing was. like, hey, you cannot sacrifice the. sweet spot. So if you have to swing 85%. to hit the sweet spot, do that. If you. have to swing 75% to hit the sweet spot. to do that. Now granted, if you can. swing hundo and hit the sweet spot, THAT. IS WHERE THE MAGIC THAT IS WHERE the.

magic comes in. And that's where the Cam. Littles of the world come in, I do. believe. This generation of kickers. bombing it further than ever. You had a. 70-yarder in preseason against the. Pittsburgh Steelers. Everybody loses. their mind. Like, holy hell. And then. obviously the conversations about Aubrey. in Dallas. You hitting that 68-yarder. now against the Raiders. I think it gave them an. opportunity John Metchie Smith, who are. very good players. I get a chance I. think it gave them an opportunity to be. like, "Oh, this is what I'm I'm going to. be respected as a Steeler, too." the league looking for help in that. area. Looking for another cornerback, looking for a defensive help. And I got a text there. I Pat, you. called me this morning, and you said. that the Colts made a trade. I got a. text from somebody in Indy that said, "We need a four-leaf clover. We need a. little bit of luck to make this happen.". So, obviously, they felt like the luck. kicked in, and they were able to get it done. Now, the conversations between the Jets and. the Colts have been going on for weeks. Weeks. Wow. And they went until the. trade deadline today.

And obviously, at noon or so, whatever. What time is it? 1:20? I I don't I don't. remember what time this came down. Half. hour, hour ago. The Jets felt comfortable to make this. trade. The Colts felt comfortable to. make the trade. The Jets now have four. first-round draft picks the next 2. years. Look, they're going to be in the. quarterback market. They're going to be. a quarterback team in the next 2 years. Whether that's this year or next year. But, it looks like, in a way, they're kind of tearing some things down. and rebuilding. And the Colts know that.

they have an opportunity, in much the. way the Commanders did it this time last. year when they traded for Marshon. Lattimore, and the Commanders went to. the. NFC Championship game. The Colts. obviously view this as a window to take. advantage of it. They have Daniel Jones on a friendly. quarterback deal. And so, they went ahead and they traded. two ones. to the Jets, along with wide receiver. A.D. Mitchell, who obviously. who obviously had lost his place. in Indy because of that fumble early in. the season. And the Colts have other.

receivers as well. So, Jets need receiver help. They traded for. John Metchie last week. They traded for. A.D. Mitchell this week. And they add. two ones as well. Okay, so, A.D. Now, every suspension of a game is without. pay. You lose a game check. But, I think. they want to make sure people know, like, hey, it's not just a game. They're. also losing out on a game check, which. is 1/17th of your salary. So, it's. pretty large for repeated violations of. playing rules intended to protect the. health and safety of players, including. during Sunday's game against Seattle. This is Luvu's third hip-drop tackle of.

the season. He was previously fined in. actions week four and week eight. Then, there was a video that kind of. accompanied this with all three of the. tackles. Now, whenever hip-drop tackle. was brought into the lingo of NFL. football, nobody really knew how it was. going to be officiated cuz also, this is. called just a tackle for some people, including Frankie Luvu. I I think this. is potentially his style of tackle, especially with how easily he does it. If you go back in time with Deebo, whenever Deebo was kind of James.

Harrison was kind of changing the way. rules were being made, while rules were. being changed, he was leading with his. helmet. He had to change the way he. tackles completely. Frankie Luvu appears. to be a guy who's been doing this style. of tackle for a very, very long time. And we all can see it. I don't I don't. think we all love that it's called a. hip-drop tackle, uh but I think it's a. good way to describe exactly what it is. It's dangerous. And uh whenever the rule. was made to ban it, you heard a lot of. old-school football people say, "It's. stupid. Why are we doing this? Why are. we doing this?" Then, whenever you see.

it, you think to yourself, "That's. pretty nasty looking." It's like a horse. collar, but even more weight, almost, Deebo. Yeah, we we were on the league. when the rules changed uh significantly. James Harrison was obviously a big part. of that. Brandon Meriweather. I feel. like it was a 1-week span where it was. probably three or four hits where like. the NFL came in and they had to do. something. And it was a lot of question. marks around that. Like, how is it fair? How would defenders be able to adjust, you know, the target area? You hit them. between here and there. But, we did, and. we do. That's just it's just a part of. player safety. It's how the game is.

evolving. And we can see these tackles, not this one, but the other two, I. think, on this clip, that are clearly uh. very, very dangerous plays. So, yeah, you definitely have to adjust how he. plays and how he tackles because they. are player safety, big issue. BA, how do. you talk to the players as these rules. are changing? And I know your your. entire thing is like, hey, everybody's. playing with these rules, but like. whenever they were changing the strike. zone on quarterbacks and tackling as a. whole, that one against like everything. they were taught basically their entire. life. I'm not saying Frankie Luvu has. been taught this, but it looks like this.

is a style of tackle that Frankie Luvu. has been doing his entire life. It looks. like he just. he has he looks like he has a cape on. He just gets him and then drops and. stuff. Whenever these rules are. changing, what is your messaging to the. players and how much are you addressing. it with them? >> Yeah, totally. We get every clip from. the league, make our own clips. All. right, this is legal, this is illegal. We are not breaking the rules, we are. not beating ourselves. All right. So you. figure it out. You figure it out, you. get used to this [ __ ] quick. Whether it be our looks, whether it be um you know, again hits on. the quarterback, making plays on the. football, um making plays when they. presented themselves. And uh you know, playing playing at home always helps. with the crowd noise. That might have. been the loudest I've ever heard that. place. And you know, I haven't played a. home game there since 2023 and I you. know, you're in the in the huddle you. forget how loud it actually is. Um you. know, TB screaming the play call. And you know, that's just a shout out to.

our fans. And and again, you know, we. came in, we executed the the game plan. and and. you know, we had a lot of especially. young guys step up and play extremely. well like Max, like Cole, um and Joey's just he's just insane. Um. you know, there's a lot of guys that. stay here throughout the bye to continue. to try to work on their bodies, to study. the film, you know, with the coaches and. you know, we even came back a day day. earlier, you know, tackling was a huge. emphasis. um in the loss against Atlanta before. the bye. Um so, we came in, we everybody. had a report uh on Monday. We were in. full pads on Monday and you know, we. were we were hitting and so, you know, just you know, understanding and I think.

it was then, you know, the bye happening. when it was, being able to look back on. some of the things that we did well and. continue to do those and some of the. things that we didn't do well and. continue to work on those. And uh you. know, Sean being the defensive-minded. guy that he is, you know, we came back. and we made those adjustments and again, we want to keep that momentum going. Um. you know, we're playing really good team. defense right now and um that's what. that's that's what it's about. Um and. and and again, we got another another. great test this weekend down south in in. Miami against a hungry Miami football.

team. And so, we got to we got to be. ready to play. We got uh prepare well um. like we have been and uh you know, we're. going to be excited for the opportunity. Hasselbeck has to make the decision that. he's going to come in and he's going to. be the backup quarterback. Like that is. a transition stage of a career. Now, he. played valuable minutes for us. We. needed a Matt Hasselbeck. He was. awesome, but mentally, it was a. decision. You playing this year, I. assume you knew what the deal was and. obviously understand at this stage. You. said you're going to be obviously. getting more play as you're back at. starter, but that mindset of just being.

able to say, "Yeah, I'm cool with. whatever" after accomplishing so much. and being all-pro Poyer. How is that. kind of mindset as you address it? Yeah, you know, initially coming in, I. came in August 28th uh knowing I'm. signing to the practice squad and yeah, you know, Micah Micah had told me last. year. um you know, it was one of the most. humbling experiences, right? Cuz you are. the guy for so many years and now all of. a sudden, you know, you're you're on the. scout team, you know, doing scout team. defense [ __ ] I was even doing scout.

team offense running routes. uh a a couple couple weeks during during. the season. So, to that point, yeah, it's very humbling, but you know, I I'm. in a place in my life, you know, I've. I've overcome a lot of different things. in my life, had so many ups and downs. and to really just again be here um to. be able to kind of ride off in the. sunset on my own terms with the. organization that I care about and that. that that has essentially raised me in. this in this NFL um league in the NFL. world, um you know, it's to me it's the.

right way to go. You know, last year. was a tough year um all around and you. know, kind of what the future looked. like was very. started to come up more and more, um the idea of you know, possibly coming. back to Buffalo, you know, on a call it. Micah Hyde plan, you know, I started to. be intrigued by that obviously knowing.

that how I I I know I can impact the. game a lot, also not just being on the. field, right? I've seen a lot of ball. Um you know, they got a lot of young. guys here that, you know, I just I'm. trying to help bring their game to the. next level cuz when I was a young player. in the league, I had guys like Tashaun. Gipson, Donte Whitner, Jim Leonhard who. kind of took me under their wing and. showed me how to be the pro, showed me. how to take care of my body, how to. watch film and so, um the Joe Hadens, you know, and you know, I promised. myself if I ever got to that age where,

you know, people are calling me Unc that. that's going to be me. This is my way of. giving back to the game, giving back to. the organization and again, just staying. ready for whatever, staying ready for. whatever situation, whether it's. starting, whatever that is. And so, you. know, now here we are. Um you know, week. nine, I'm back in the lineup and it. feels good. Again, my body feels good, spirit feels good and uh you know, I'm. excited for this run that we're on. You're still ridiculously handsome, too, so congrats on that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Virginia is going to be in the playoffs. at the end of the season. Now, they. still have They have Duke. They have. Virginia Tech for BA. I don't know and. you guys talked about it on College. GameDay. I do think they're looking for. a loss. That's kind of how they've been. playing lately. Mhm. Memphis and Tulane play this weekend. So. So Navy had a. tough loss against North Texas last. weekend. So I think Navy still has one. loss. They got a big one against Notre. Dame. feel like they have to to survive, that's a tough deal to get done. That is. a very tough deal. There's deal makers, though, okay, that are out there in the. world. And there's bad There's good deal. makers, bad deal makers. There's. professional deal makers that get. brought in to kind of, "Hey, let's set. our swords aside." I wonder if we're. going to get to that stage. I wonder how. many people are like, "Hey, hey, hey, hey, we got to figure this out for the. good of the people, for the good of the. people." Because we are those people, and uh we just want everybody to enjoy. the hell out of sports as easy as. possible. We need more sports, not less.

I, since watching you kick a ball, has. always been I have always been very. fascinated by how you create so much leg. speed. So, let's just let's dive into. this. I don't think you're like the most.

jacked guy. I don't think you're like. >> No, that's a very fair statement. Yeah, I. Okay, Little [laughter] Little's your. last name. I don't think you're tiny, but you're certainly not one of these. massive guys. Have you always had an. incredibly strong leg like in soccer. whenever you were growing up? Were you. always the free kick taker, always had a. strong leg? And how did you get to this. point? Yes, I think that's where I kind. of first started. I was always good at. taking free kicks um and penalty kicks. and all that stuff kind of tied into me. learning how to kick a football, and. obviously um going to Kohl's camps. growing up, I never really had the. fastest leg, and I developed a little.

later um in my high school career. When. I was going to these camps, I saw guys. that had faster legs than me, and I. would always ask them like, "How are you. guys getting your legs faster?" Like cuz. at the end of the day, that's what gets. you the most power on the ball. Um and. so, you know, I started developing a. faster leg, and now it's like my best. trait as a kicker because obviously I'm. a 6'1, 175-lb guy that cannot squat a. huge amount. So, everyone always asks. me, "Well, what How do you kick the ball. so far? I think ball contact and leg. speed is the key to kicking the ball so.

far and high. Yeah, you're hitting the. ball sweet. Every time you're hitting. that ball sweet, which is not easy. You. know, Vinatieri I was very lucky to work. alongside. Obviously, everybody in the. kicking world knows Adam Vinatieri. Vinnie, whenever I got there, you know, I used to be a kicker in college and I. had a strong leg, but I had no idea. where the ball was going. So, his big. thing was like, "Hey, you cannot. sacrifice the sweet spot. So, if you. have to swing 85% to hit the sweet spot, do that. If you have to swing 75% to hit. the sweet spot, to do that." Now, granted, if you can swing hundo and hit. the sweet spot, THAT IS WHERE THE MAGIC.

THAT IS WHERE THE MAGIC COMES. And. that's where the Cam Littles of the. world come in, I do believe. This. generation of kickers bombing it further. than ever. You had a 70-yarder in. preseason against the Pittsburgh. Steelers. Everybody loses their mind. They're like, "Holy hell." And then. obviously the conversations about Aubrey. in Dallas. You hitting that 68-yarder. now against the Raiders because of the. 70-yarder. Were you confident walking. out there this was going to be a make. like that? Obviously, has to be the. mindset, but 68 is so You're so much. closer to the other uprights than the.

ones that you're kicking to. What is the. mentality as you're walking out there, Cam? Yeah, I mean, you kind of go out. there and Logan obviously Logan and Ross. both do a great job of prepping me for. this stuff. They Logan always thinks I. hit the ball the best when I'm swinging. the hardest. And so, I told him right as. I was going out there to spot it. I. said, "I'm swinging hard at this. football. I'm making sure that I'm going. to drill this thing." And so, you know, I spot the ball and I'm. looking down at the spot and I tell him. that and he's like, "Hit that ball hard, ball.". >> [laughter]. >> Hit it hard and obviously stayed left. middle and just stuck dead straight down.

that left middle the whole time. And you. know, you go out there and you prep so. much from deep in practice and you know, you're working with your op for fun back. there at 60-plus sometimes. And then for. it to finally come to fruition again was. so cool. Yeah, in a real game too. They. won't give you credit for that. 70-yarder, you know, they won't give you. credit. They won't give you credit. We will. obviously cuz we've seen it before, but. 60. Ladies and gentlemen, WE HAVE BREAKING. NEWS ON THIS TRADE deadline day. The New. York Jets have traded away another. All-Pro Pro Bowler, Quinnen Williams.

The absolutely legendary entertaining. and beast of a defensive lineman has. been traded from the New York Jets to. the Dallas Cowboys. First, Sauce Gardner comes to. Indianapolis. Now, Quinnen Williams goes. to the Dallas Cowboys. And Jerry Jones. said last night, "I got a trade or two. in my back pocket. I don't know if I. want to pull them out." Logan Wilson. gets traded from the Cincinnati Bengals, the middle linebacker, down to Dallas. this morning. And now Quinnen Williams. is on his way to the Big D and Jerry.

World. Quinnen Williams is a beast. >> Yeah. Quinnen Williams is a dog by all. accounts. What did the Dallas Cowboys. add and why do you think they did it, Deebo? >> Well, we know why they did it. We talked. We showed the numbers that they had. earlier in the show with historically. bad numbers on defense. And this is an. absolute game wrecker. You mentioned it. earlier. Whenever you can get pressure. or some game wreckers up front with a. four-man rush, that's going to help a. defense tremendously. You add in Logan. Wilson on the on the second level. And. now this is a an all-time kind of an. all-pro legendary kind of game wrecker.

up in the middle of that defense. So, this is a big pickup for Jerry Jones. >> Joining us now, senior NFL insider for. ESPN, Adam Schefter. Hey, Schefter. I. don't think THE DAY IS DONE. I THINK. THERE'S MORE TO COME, YOU SAID. I DON'T. KNOW IF you knew it was going to be. coming from the New York Jets. They're. doing full rebuild right now. Is that. what we're seeing in New York? Yeah, I I knew that one was coming. They've been working on Quinnen Williams. all day. That was the one that the Dallas Cowboys. were working on. And that's why when. Sauce came down, I thought Quinnen was. getting traded. And all of a sudden.

it was Sauce, which was unexpected at. that moment. And now they're trading. Quinnen Williams. It'll be at least a. first-round pick. At least a first-round pick. And we're waiting to see the exact. compensation. I'm literally going to. hear any moment now. So, as soon as I. get it, I'll let you know there, Pat. >> Okay, appreciate that. So, the Jets. obviously acquired two first-rounders. from the Indianapolis Colts just about. an hour or two ago. Now they're going to. pick up another first-rounder. And you. talked about them being in the. quarterback market either this offseason.

or the next one. They're doing full. rebuild over there. Did they expect. maybe let's see how the team goes? When. do you think they decided that they were. going to, you know, maybe completely. move on from their young pillars and. start anew in New York? Was that before. the year started or as this year. continued to roll on? >> I don't No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's not before the year because you're. going through the year. You don't expect. to be one and seven or whatever they are. at this particular moment, but they are. They're in that spot right now. And so, they just figured, "Okay,

uh let's let's We might as well just. start. building this up and get get this get. more picks. They're in the quarterback. market now, obviously. Okay, so Jerry. obviously picked up a first-rounder from. the Green Bay Packers with the trade of. Micah Parsons. And he chit-chatted about. the number of picks that he had whenever. he made that play. What are we expecting. this to be worth? You said at least one. first-rounder. The New York Jets all of. a sudden are about to become the belles. of the ball come draft time around, you. know, the entire NFL, I'd assume.

Yeah, yeah. Hold on a second. By the way, the the the yeah, the the. the. Quinnen Williams trade is not done, but. they're trying to get it finalized. They're trying to GET IT FINALIZED. OH, HOLD THE PHONE. You know, we got to dot. eyes, cross Ts. You know what the. hardest touchdown to score is? What's. that? Well, without the touch push, goal. line. Yeah. Uh Quinnen Williams, this has been in. the works Well, it it's been going on. for. a little while now. And there were. multiple teams in on him. And uh. you know, the Jets By the way, it's not. done yet. It's not done. But we're. waiting. But I I would think that both. sides get this far along at 2:11.

with the trade deadline coming up in 1. hour and 49 minutes, they'll figure out. a way to get it done. But it's it's it's. not done. They're trying to get it. finalized. To me it doesn't make any sense. You uh. No sense. Yeah, but whenever you. traded a fourth-rounder for Gronk, you. could have got him. You know what I. mean? You could have got That's. different when you're talking about. fourth-rounders, brother. No, but. first-rounders, too. I feel this way. I and I assume coaches. feel this way as well. And I don't know why if that's why not.

as many ex-players are running teams or. making decisions, but it's like with the. amount of guys that I've seen get. drafted that were supposed to be really. good come into our building and just be. ass. And it's like, "Okay, are we. willing to roll the dice on a proven guy. or this guy that has a lot of. potential?" Now, there's been guys that. have come in and been great. I'm not. saying that's not the case. But if you. look at the law of averages and the. percentages of people that hit and. people that miss in the NFL draft, it's. like there's a lot more misses than. there is hits. So, you get a guy that's. a hit, it's like, "We hit on a guy.".

>> Especially that organization. >> We hit on a guy and everybody loves him. and he's funny. Yeah. He's incredibly. entertaining. Ari Meirov at MySportsUpdate is. reporting the expected trade is expected. trade. Oh, no, we're not doing that. We're not doing that. We're taking that. down. We're not doing any expected. trades here cuz did you expect Quinnen. Williams to be traded? Absolutely not. >> Well, with your point on like the. first-round picks, too, like the last. couple years in the draft process when. we've talked to these people who are. draft experts and put all this time in, they've basically said like a lot of.

organizations only have 10 to 15. first-round grades on the players in the. first round. So, it's like if you're if. you look at yourself and see that you're. going to be picking in the back half of. the first round, like is that really as. valuable as it was 10 years ago pre-NIL. when it's like, "Hey, guys are maybe. staying in school longer and there. aren't as many bonafide first-round. picks in every draft?". >> Jay Glazer back on the news. What's he. say? Uh teams are finalizing uh. compensation, but as of now Cowboys. trading a second-round pick this year.

and a first-round pick next year for Pro. Bowl D-tackle, Quinnen Williams. Scoop, [ __ ] Thank you, Jay Glazer, for. getting to the bottom of it. I like that. he kind of poked himself back out into. the world. Said, "You know what? It's a. Tuesday. I might want to drop a little something. on something.". >> He still runs the tri-state area. Yeah, Cam, I don't know. if you're watching the game at all or. not, but when when Aubrey goes back to. 68 and we had mentioned it yesterday on. the show where like all the 68, you. know, this could get broken this season. Aubrey's going tonight and then he steps. back to 68. Is he one of the guys like. when you go back and you you're like, "Oh, no. Like is he going to do it. tonight? Is he going to top me tonight?". Yeah, I I actually wasn't watching the.

game, but I had got a FaceTime call from. someone and they're like, "Dude, are you. watching this game right now?" And I was. like, "No, what's happening?" He's like, "Aubrey's about to attempt to 68." And I. was like, "Yeah, he's going [laughter] to HIT IT.". ONE DAY? I GET ONE DAY? THAT IS A FUNNY. 63. 63 lived forever, then 64, then we. get to 66. You hit 68. It almost only. had a 24-hour shelf life. That is a wild. thing to think about. Yeah, it's it's. actually crazy to think about and I I. was talking to the media the other day. and I was like, you know, this record's. going to get broken this season. I I.

want to live through this, right? You. know, obviously selfishly I want the. record, but there's so many guys around. the NFL that are so good at kicking. footballs now that I have a feeling it. will get broken. You look at Brandon. Aubrey, for instance. You look at Jake. Bates, 64 twice last year in the UFL. He's hit 60 plus with the Lions and so, you look at guys that have that leg leg. strength and it it's honestly just. impressive. >> I think everybody has the legs. Well, not everybody. I saw a couple people. come up short and then, you know, some. people are getting a QB ball in there. instead of the K ball. Let's talk about. the balls a little bit. How's it feel.

going in? And I know you're just a young. ass, you know, kicker. You have no idea. what it was like back in the day. Okay, you don't know what it was LIKE WITH THE. BRAND NEW BALLS COMING IN TO THE GAMES, but this year, obviously huge change is. the K ball. Everybody's talking about. it. From your perspective, can you give. your take on the K ball being brought. into the game as opposed to a brand new. ball? Yeah, I can. I. Thankfully, we have the best equipment. staff that we have a guy that is so good. at breaking in footballs. Like last. year, you know, we would get them.

obviously the rule changed where you can. get it through the week and you can use. it 3 weeks and then it's got to be out. But last year, you had to break in. obviously, you know, the ball 30 minutes before the game. You. got a guy in there breaking that thing. in like. it's it's yeah, like literally sitting. there sweating and drenched in sweat. trying to break in the football. And so, our guy did a really good job last year. breaking the footballs in and so, we had. a good K ball last year and I thought. you know, going into this year, it does. give you that bit of edge of you can hit.

the ball just about 3 or 4 yards. farther, I think, but I don't think it's. enough to give guys not give guys enough. credit because I think guys are just. Yes, the K ball is going to make you. kick the ball farther, but I think guys. in the NFL are just getting more. talented. I mean, you look Brandon. Aubrey just We'll speak on him for a. sec. He's hit four 60 plus yarders this. three 60 plus yarders this season or. something like that. And so, and he was. doing that last year, too. He hit a 66. in preseason last year and that's with. the old ball. So, I think guys are just. getting more talented and and. specialists from high school to college.

to the NFL are just getting that more. talented and I think that probably has. more to do with it than the K ball. That's my personal opinion, though. Now, I think you're accurate in saying that. Now, from you said 3 to 4 more yards for. the ball coming in for the game. We talk. about brand new ball, it's like 15. yards. Brand new ball out of the box, 15, 20 yards. >> Brand new ball out of the box is a lot. different, yes. Yeah, that's a night and. day. Mentally, too, though. I think. going onto the field knowing that the. ball is a ball that you've kicked. before, mentally probably Yeah, I think. that probably helps. And I would like to. say, as a. uh I'm 38 now. How old are you?

22. Jesus Christ. The youngest kicker. ever drafted in the NFL, by the way, he. was. Youngest guy ever drafted in the. NFL. Absolute beast. With that being. said, not easy to get drafted at the. kicking position. But like I kicked a. soccer ball like 124 miles an hour. Okay, I kicked like a 70-yard field goal. when I was in high school. Okay, so, I. had a very strong leg. I I I think. people would say, "Hey, this guy had a. very strong leg." Now, did I know where. it was headed? No. I I I mean, that. [laughter] thing was, you know, there's. a good chance that thing was traveling. But nowadays, your guys's leg strength.

is just it it's I don't even think I'd. be top 15, top 20 in the league right. now. And you talk about how like the. evolution, it all becomes from what? Perfect perfecting technique throughout. high school with Jamie Kohl and the Kohl. brothers and then also exercising and. everything. Do you think that there's. going to be a peak for this? Like you. think you guys are going to continue to. go cuz you're 22. You can You're only. going to get stronger somehow. Yeah, I think it really works out. I think. even from last season to this season, I. think my leg has just gotten that bit. stronger. Like Yeah, I was hitting from.

Um, so I think it's just evolving and I. think it will just keep peaking until. eventually it can't peak anymore. Um, when that will be, we have no clue. Um,

cuz there's going to be someone that's. going to set it again. Feels like it's. not within the next 10 years with your. little ass coming to the entire. [laughter] thing. Also, having a great. team around you and coaching staff is a. part of it. Go ahead, Con man. >> Yeah, Cam, how's your relationship with. Liam Cohen? We've kind of heard a few. different coaches talk this past week. Matt LaFleur says, you know, he doesn't. speak to the kicker. We saw Sean Payton, you know, bark at Will Lutz before his. game-winner. Hey, right through. Uh, what is your relationship with Liam. Cohen and did you get that shiner from. the celebration after uh hitting that.

68-yarder? Um, I'll answer that question first. I. got bit by a dog when I was five. I was. eating a bologna sandwich and got bit by. a dog. Dog tried to get my bologna. sandwich, but he didn't It didn't get my. bologna sandwich. Bit me in the eye. Hell yeah, you you finish that bologna. sandwich. [laughter]. You got that sandwich. No, but um, man, Liam has been such a. good um. just head coach to me and I know. sometimes you don't have the best. relationship as far as head coach. specialist. They kind of want to leave. you alone um and let you do your thing, but I think.

um. he instills a lot of confidence in me. throughout the week, throughout prep, throughout pregame and you know, we have. a very good relationship with each other. and. um you know, throughout, you know, kind of prep this. week, you know, during field goal. period, he's out there. Nice operation, nice kicks, you know, nice punts, Logan. So um that's something for me that is. huge to get out of my head coach because. as a specialist unit, we want to know. that our head coach um is involved with. us. We want him to be um you know, acting like it it knowing it's a big. deal. Um and so Liam is a superstar.

about that and I can't um thank him. enough as a head coach because he does. care a lot about us as specialists and. um that one-on-one relationship is is is. forever indebted. Yeah, I'm happy you're. an athlete. You know, some of these. kickers, you know them. You've been to. those kicking camps. Not not athletes, you know? And that's like who these. coaches like, I'm not talking to the. kicker. I'm not talking to kicker. You're treating them as if they're not. athletes. Like, hey, these guys just. coming out to do there. You can tell how. much the coach respects the athleticism. of the kicker with how they interact. with each other. LaFleur saying I don't.

talk to kickers is like, okay. >> He's a [ __ ] though. So that. >> That's exactly That's exactly how I. would view that. Is Vinatieri Imagine. LaFleur saying, I don't talk to Adam. Vinatieri. [ __ ] I don't talk to. you, either. Like, what are we even. talking about? So I respect and. appreciate that. And I don't know if you. heard Liam Cohen say, he felt like he. won the Super Bowl after you hit that. He said He said, "It felt like we won. the Super Bowl after he hit that.". Because the excitement now, you guys had. to go out in the second half and. overtime and go win that game and you. were able to do that, but I love how. much Liam has supported you and I like. how many opportunities he's given you.

because of the amount of [ __ ] he's seen. you do in practice. On that note, you. made history, brother. It'll live on. forever. D But has a question for you. >> Absolutely. We had a chance to go down. to Canton the Hall of Fame and they do a. great job preserving different things. from the game. You said history, you. made history. So have you put any. thought about or do they just come in. and take what they're going to put in. the Hall of Fame to be enshrined. forever? Man, I'm. I'm definitely keeping the football. That's 100% and I'm still deciding if. I'm going to give him my jersey or not, but I think I might let it go and let.

Legitimately very special. stuff. It's been an honor to kind of. watch you go about doing your thing. 22-year-old, this guy has no idea about. life at this point. Who cares? Like at at this point, you know, if. you're going back to 70 people or you. know, you're kind of in that Auburn. territory. Have you maybe talked to him.

You give me the opportunity to. throw a 70-yard touchdown or maybe I. just I tuck and run and I give a couple. people [laughter] a few shoulders to. chew on, you know, and maybe I get a. 70-yard touchdown run. Like, is there. any of that kind of stuff going on. behind the scenes now? Man, I think uh there's a funny story. actually. Me and Logan, uh my holder and. the punter, um. we're talking about trying to you know, what what does a fake field goal look. like? And I was like, dude, do you think. I could ever run a fake field goal? And. he goes, "If you ever have the ball in.

your hands, I would be extremely. worried. One, because I think you would. get broken in half and two, you can't. throw." So I think we might stay away. from the fake field goal. >> [laughter]. >> Smart. And Logan's a beast, though. Logan is a beast. He's an athlete. You. talk about a guy that's an athlete, man. That guy. Talk about his punting, that dude is. unbelievable. I know it's We're talking. about fake field goals. That guy is. unbelievable at punting the football and. throwing the football. Um so to have a guy like that in my room. that's leading me and to have a guy like. Ross snapping it, two-time All-Pro.

snapper and a. All-Pro punter last year, both Pro. Bowlers, like they set me up for success. and those guys are elite at what they. do. So it makes my job a lot easier. That's a good place to be when you got a. snapper and a holder that are all pro. alongside you and then you got a kicker. that can hit from 68 and 70. Liam. Cohen's living a good life whenever it. comes to special teams. Please tell. Logan Cooke we're massive fans. That big. country [ __ ] bomb balls, dude. He can, man. He is unbelievable.
