Thursday September 5th 2024 the program. starts. now footb is officially here what a. glorious day it is this morning when you. wake up you know everything feels a.

little better everything tastes a little. better because you know tonight that. glorious trk up that wonderful Lombardi. Mountain Begins for 32 teams 32 cities. 32 fan bases who think that their team. is going to be the one to make it to the. climax of Lombardi Mountain on February. 9th. 2025 and can call themselves world. champions tonight we get a chance to see.

last year's MVP take on last year's. Super Bowl MVP tonight we get a chance. to celebrate the fact that history is. going to be made over the next five. months stories are going to be told. teams are going to ride the highest of. highs in some franchises are going to. experience the lowest of. L it's the most beautiful time to be. alive football season is here and. tonight the Ravens and Chiefs kick it. off and then an international game. tomorrow then Saturday a act college.

football site then Sunday a full NFL. site and then Monday Night Football with. Joe Troy SVP and cast you have the Jets. in the San Francisco 49ers it is amazing. we are thankful that we get to do this. for a living we are thankful that you. allow us to do this for a living and. just know that the next few months are. going to be packed and stacked with. football conversation that I hope will. help you realize that the greatest sport. on Earth is American football in the. greatest League on Earth is the NFL.

let's hope it delivers we're lucky to be. here the toxic table is here as well at. Boston Connor at Tai Schmid con man it's. a little different when you wake up on. NFL kickoff morning yeah it truly is I. mean we started counting down the days. till NFL football over 220 days ago and. and think about the stuff that we've. been able to do is awesome you know. March Madness we went to Iowa for the. wom tournament that was incredible. always fun to watch Yukon dominate then. we had the draft in Detroit with Bill. bich I mean what a time that was so much. fun had the NBA finals and the Stanley. Cup finals and luckily you know my.

Celtics won debes Florida Panthers won. and then we went through the Olympics. but the fact that we actually have NFL. football like it really does you know it. almost brings me to tears I woke up this. morning first thing I did I placed a $20. bet to win a million bucks and it starts. tonight I mean it's a touchdown parlay. and and there are a lot of legs to it. and some guys need to score two some. guys need to just get on the field and. who knows if they are even playing. tonight but it it really is like life is. so much better I don't think you know.

for us specifically like doing this show. is so much better when we have real NFL. football to talk about like even these. last few days where we had shoot 10 days. CU we had week zero college football and. we had the college football week one to. react to but like the NFL it's such a. different animal in the fact that we. have tonight tomorrow Saturday night. College Football Saturday college. football and then a full Sunday slate. wrapped up with Niners Jets the return. of Aaron Rogers on Monday Night Football.

like it it it's incredible I I am so so. lucky to be here February 9th 2025 down. in New Orleans is when this entire thing. ends you know and the way it's starting. though is wonderful tmid we got a packed. stacked lineup here to kick off the NFL. season yeah I mean the NFL typically. does it right with these Marquee games. especially to start off the season to. kind of maximize on how excited everyone. is but getting a rematch of the AFC. Championship that came down to the wire. truly could have been either one of. these teams that made to the Super Bowl.

and then eventually win the Super Bowl. and I mean one thing that everyone kind. of loves not just with this game and the. Eagles game and then obviously the Full. Slate but then on Monday night too like. seeing these new faces in new places I. mean it's just like Derrick Henry is. going to be playing for the Ravens. tonight you know and for everyone who's. like a fan of the NFL like it's going to. take you a second to get used to because. you're just so used to him running with. a full head of steam in a Titans uniform. but I mean just these Marquee matchups. that we have tonight tomorrow night and.

on Monday night to start the season like. couldn't be better I mean we're getting. six teams that you know we talked about. it yesterday six of the 10 or 12 teams. that you could make an argument are. teams that could go on and win the Super. Bowl this year it's incredible yeah and. one of them obviously is not you know uh. going to be great uh there's obviously. five of these teams that aren't going to. win the Super Bowl but there's chance. for history this year Patrick Mahomes. Travis Kelce Taylor Swift in the. building tonight whoa let's go all the. calls for t Swift or or t.

trais Travis all the hoping TNT oi all. oi o o yeah it's. TN o o o we're not making names okay. that's already been taken there but the. fact that people were calling for their. demise just yesterday was some fug gay. report that hits the internet and then. tonight we hear that Taylor Swift's. going to be there I believe when Taylor. Swift is in the building I think they're. like 10 and three or something like that. obviously they win a Super Bowl whenever. she is around the team she's going to be.

there tonight boys are going to be. buzzing Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes. love showing up in Prime Time big. Marquee games it's almost an interesting. kind of Quagmire uh to kind of view it. the Chiefs show up in the biggest games. in the biggest ways that is why they. have be the Champions the Patriots did. the same exact thing for 20 years they. there's just the teams that win in the. end and then teams that don't and the. Chiefs seemingly are the teams that. whenever they need it whenever they need. to win games they're going to go do it. last year was the first time they had to. go on the road in the playoffs okay they. had home Advantage every other time they.

had to go on the road and they were just. talking their [ __ ] the entire time in. those massive games they tonight's going. to be a massive number tonight is going. to be a huge number so I'm expecting the. Stars put on the show and then Lamar. Jackson obviously he's last year's MVP. played his best football they lose. because of a punch out at like a half. yard line yeah that guy's no longer on. the team on the KC Chiefs but. nonetheless they lose on a punch out. they have to be sick to their stomachs. with how last season end with how they. were playing at the time and you add. Derrick Henry couple new people on the. offensive line obviously for the. Baltimore Ravens how will that fair. against a very good Kansas City Chief's.

defense we will dive into it but the. stars are out tonight and I think in. this moment is when they all play their. greatest let's go to one half of the. hammer di Cowboys a tone uh what are. some betting things we should think. about night one week one yep big stars. playing in the game big stars playing in. the game big picture uh 10 of the last. 11 Super Bowl champs have been plus. 12200 or shorter uh to win the Super. Bowl at the beginning of the year these. two teams are both plus 12200 or shorter. so that's awesome when tight TI talking. about week one the other two teams are.

the ners and lions we will see them on. Monday night and Sunday night so talking. about the Prime Time games those are. awesome uh as far as tonight is. concerned Lamar is a dog and he is 70 7. and0 ATS the last three seasons as a dog. ATS yes against the spread means tonight. he is a three-point dog so he covers. those three points whether it's you know. they lose 2421 2422 whatever they cover. the spread in that situation not. straight up uh speaking of straight up. Andy Reid is 9-2 straight up in season. openers as the Chiefs head coach uh.

seven and four against the spread as I. was speaking there so they would have to. win by more three points or more. three-point would be a push three points. are more tonight to cover the spread in. that situation uh big picture week one. last three years unders are 32 and 16 in. week one the total tonight tight tight. total tonight is 46 and a half um so. that's what we're looking at week one. tonight and big picture okay I'm excited. to see if it is tight you know trying to. feel each other out trying to figure. each other out because remember the. Chiefs last year were defense run team. we're going to handle situations better.

than everybody Patrick Mahomes actually. had a press conference said I had to. learn how to be like okay with us just. punting the ball playing defense and. then killing some time running the ball. like I had to I had to figure that out. so he just got better last year in a. different way but they've stocked up on. the weapons are they all going to come. out 100 miles an hour night one I think. there's a chance and then on the other. side Derrick Henry Lamar Jackson and. with Patrick Ricard in the back is that. just going to come out and just win win. win against a Spagnola defense let's. let's see introduce reintroduce friend.

of feeling in this entire thing as we. view this game and he talked about the. unders being 32 and 16 or whatever it. was why is that do you think because. everybody's kind of playing close to the. vest they just want to get through the. game why do you think these early Games. first games of the Season could be tight. sometimes a kgf if you will from the. soccer I think a couple things first. starters aren't playing that much right. I think coach belich pointed that out. the other day on the show right Pras. preseason. 10% um so those guys they're not playing. um you can do they're getting a ton of.

reps let's you know not be crazy here. they're getting a ton of reps in. practice The Joint practice but they're. not playing that much and I think early. on in the season I think defenses are. just ahead of the offenses and you have. a smaller game plan you're not going to. have your whole Playbook this first week. it's going to be game plan specific you. know Baltimore's been working on offense. defense but how they're for a long time. versus Kansas they've known right and. Kansas City vice versa so they've they. spent a lot of time on each other so I.

can I can see that happening tonight but. I mean if you go back and look at. history with these two teams the last. five meetings yeah I know the last one. was 1710 so flew under right 27 points. but if you add them all up they've. averaged 52 points a game whoa whoa whoa. whoa whoa whoa whoa you're saying. they've had success against each other. the last five meetings throw out let's. throw out the AFC champ championship. game from last year right okay so. average 59 points in the four previous.

meetings when they went head-to-head. wait a minute who has whose number there. I guess both yeah yeah who will have the. ball last potentially in this entire. thing and we were talking earlier you. know it's three-point spread if Harrison. bucker hits a gamewinner oh boy oh man. with t Swift in the building oh boy oh. baby wa what do you mean the world will. crumble that is sports un that is that. is the universe just being like please. let that oh my it would be incred it. would be a wild it would be a wild time.

I mean he was hitting it so far he was. kicking off he was kicking field goals. so strong hit a real tight ball too so. it can cut through wind which means like. he's pretty good I think he's good in. the in Kansas City because it can get a.

little windy in there it could be a. little bit chilly he's from San Diego. it's going to be chilly later in the. year how will he Fair after Tommy. Townson who I. think got like a mount handful of guys. that are kind of all in the same boat in. the NFL when it comes to punters Tommy. Townsen is certainly in that one so they. lose him but they get uh uh Punk c in. there and then you talk about Tucker on. the other side like he's not going to. miss no bucker is not going to miss so. this literally is going to be like who. cracks you know like if they both fare. well against each other especially team. should be a wash yeah should be a wash.

in this entire thing it's like all right. now we got we got Star on Star here that. offensive line though for the Ravens is. a big question mark I guess right three. new three rookie left tackle and right. tackle three new pieces but you got. Patrick rard yep who's fullback who. weighs 275 lbs shout out to cuz uh out. for the Chargers oh number 99 big. beautiful red beard 300 lb basically. Patrick rard of the West CO I can't. remember his name yeah a former. defensive lineman I believe from Bo. State there he is is yeah he seems like. cool dude and hard's like yeah we'll put.

300 PB fullback back that'd be smart. yeah we used to do this all the time why. do we stop doing it you see Baltimore. they got Patrick card's 280 pounds he. might score a TD tonight yeah Patrick. card might sneak out might score a TD. tonight who knows the guy's got good. hands but the three rookie offensive. lineman I guess could be a question for. the Ravens especially with the Kansas. City Chiefs front that is good defense. that is back besides two players. obviously that's going to be a problem. but it's like how does that fair is. spags take over this game or Lamar. Jackson in second year with that monkin.

offense take another step and kind of. grad and now here we go tonight could be. like Rams Chiefs was a few years ago and. it could be just dog on I mean there's I. think that's why it's uh I'm so excited. to kind of see how it figures out yeah. for sure and like the second year in. monins offense is huge the left tackle. is returning so left tackle Center are. the two guys coming back on the. offensive line for the Ravens probably. make the argument those are the two most. important spots obviously the center. being Linder ball the absolute dog from. iio who amateur wrestler in high school.

very good very state champion uh in what. state in Iowa he's from Iowa we're. wrestling matters just a tiny bit and. where where didd he go to school he went. to Solen high school and then where didd. he go to college uh he went to the. University of Iowa he's one of Kirk's. dogs don't you think he wished though. when he was at Iowa you guys played a. little bit of offense you would have not. a chance when when he was there they. were they're rolling like Gang Busters. okay anyways yeah he is back yeah he. he's back he's a dog he a dog absolute. dog and last year kind of the emergence.

if you will of Isaiah likely so like all. the talk about you know them not having. any weapons if you go Derrik Henry Mark. Andrews Isaiah likeley obviously they. got Z flowers and then you know agalar. or Rashad bitman on the other side it's. like they can put you in a little bit of. a pretzel because are you going to you. going to try and stop derck Henry are. you gonna You Know cover Isaiah likeley. and Mark Andrews and Z flowers then I. mean you got you got the t-bo pop pass. coming all day all day if they want. them when they come fresh off the press. they're incredible so yeah it's it's a. tough thing you know when you're a fat. guy you gravitate toward those donuts so. yeah I'm with you especially during. football season you know when you're a. little tired maybe it's like very easy. and you know it's going to bring joy. immediately cuz you see it it's all that. fluffy. glazed frosting oh no frosting no no. sprinkles either that was a big. conversation over around the donuts. earlier today on which ones stay which. ones go you know the cinnamon roll. oh my God apple fritter holy [ __ ] brisk.

morning com into an apple. FR oh my God I don't know if it happened. in Pittsburgh out here in Indianapolis. there's a bunch of like doughnut like. places like local doughnut places no no. we we we were Duncan amen America we had. sandwiches sandwich places pizza places. we didn't have dut places out here in. Indianapolis there's like dut places. that are like Long's Donuts is out here. Jack is out here and they have like. lines every single morning people buy. all these Donuts definitely popular.

elsewhere like on the coast I think but. that is a very Midwest like any any. place in the midwest like a lot of where. I grew up like five or six very popular. like Mom and Pop doughnut shops and. they're just viewed as like a cafe. almost you get a coffee and a doughnut. and how you start your morning pretty. much got it got it see where we come. from people literally meet at McDonald's. every day same group oh yeah for like 50. years they're still there even during Co. they met up in a [ __ ] parking lot. sitting in different spots cuz they had. to read the newspaper together what's. happening nothing the world's shut down.

anyway speaking of the world kickoffs. have happened or sorry the NFL is. kicking off this evening lombo we chatt. about a lot of things quickly what moves. do you think were made in the off season. that affect this game the most do you. think it's maybe Xavier worthy getting. added in there maybe a couple more. weapons for Patrick Mahomes on the. Ravens side do you think it's the young. offensive linemen that are going to have. to get tested what do you think is the. big offseason signing new to Ravens. Chiefs deal that is going to get talked. about tomorrow well I think the biggest. news is all the uncertainty with. Baltimore you know Unfortunately they.

lost their great offensive line coach. Joe D and and that was traumatic you. know and so that that's a problem in. itself you go through that experience. that's difficult they have three new. starting offensive linemen and you go on. the road into Kansas City with that. crowd noise that's a challenge you got. to change what you do offensively. because you know when you have Derk. Henry you can't be in the shotgun offset. eye he's what we call a point of entry. Runner which means you got to get him to. the line clean and you've got to get him.

building momentum and let him use his. size and his power and so when he's in. that offset eye even with the. quarterback or just slightly behind him. there's not enough time so this is going. to be more of a pistol formation team. maybe even Lamar under Center so I think. they're going through a little bit of of. kind of finding their identity and then. on defensively Zack or he's only coached. three years in the National Football. League now he's got to go up against one. of the great chess players of all time. at Andy Reid and how do you adjust you.

know being a young coordinator Monday. through Saturday is not so bad but. Sunday from 1 to four oh my there's a. lot of things that are happening there's. a lot of adjustments that have to take. place and sometimes that experience you. need to rely on that coach will talk. about that I I think that's going to be. a key so to me Baltimore might not be. the best team they will be at the start. of the Season even though John Harbaugh. is great to begin Seasons but they'll. get better as the year goes on and. Kansas City I think they're probably.

have have their best team even after. last year's Super Bowl win because. they've added some skill they've got. some security with their offensive line. even though they lose sne in the. secondary they're still very good with. McDuffy so look you have Patrick Mahomes. look Patrick Mahomes is a favorite or a. three as an underdog or a three-point. favorite or less he's 238 and one that's. a 74% winning percentage for those who. need to do the match and Lamar is great. as a as a dog he's 20 and six when he's.

three point when he's a dog that's a 76. percentage so this is a great game when. these two guys play in the setting that. they're in yeah speaking of that no tone. has a question for you yeah lombo I just. wanted to ask you just gambling wise. tonight and then maybe for the weekend. people don't I don't if people realize. if they're new to the show or not your. football brain one of the best your. gambling brain one of the best you put. it together we want to know your. knowledge this weekend as far as tonight. and then maybe something this weekend. that you're looking at hey you've done. you Italians for our show have done very. well for us G we would like to say thank.

you for that you we just trying to make. a you know make a contribution Pat I I. think this is a hard weekend to handicap. because you know you got a lot of moving. factors going on here I think the first. thing you have to look at is these games. will be different in terms of how. they're refereed in terms of the playoff. games like let's just take Detroit. versus the Rams you go back and watch. that tape and Detroit was physical they. were dominating and there were times. where the Rams could have got called for. holding there was no hold calls same.

thing for the Lions but now in week one. you're going to see more of the referees. make their influence we're going to see. more calls you got to take that into. consideration as you do your handicapp. and in these close games especially. that'll Factor uh and you got to go with. you got to go with teams that have. closers right like Derk Henry's a closer. you give him the ball with four minutes. to go in the game he's going to get. first downs Mahomes is a closer he's. going to do that you you got to be. really good at at picking out those. spots Lambo I have a question for you.

does the commercial from mcdc with. Applebee's that was released yesterday. kind of give you a little bit more of a. lean toward the Lions and also we have a. an exclusive debut of one of the. six-part serieses whoa that is going to. be released by Applebee's throughout the. season and uh I'll tell you what mcdc is. bat in a th thousand in appearances for. Applebee's here's the debut of the. Applebee's. CDC episode one of a six-part series and.

there's no point in adding the right. Talent without the right leadership. we're more than servers feel the energy. coursing through your veins which is why. Applebees brought in coach Dan Campbell. to take the coveted role of assistant. shift manager now that I'm on this team. we're going to have a different level of. production I move faster than that. bringing a level of intensity that is as. inspiring as it is feared I'm all about. friendly competition in a workplace. anything else I'm Coming For You.

Craig next month this is my. wall we're going to be working seven. days a week but yeah we're we're about. to turn this thing up okay so does that. make you believe in Lions more for me. yes and that Applebees is about to be. top of the line Pat I put that tape on. this week and you go back and revisit. that Ram tape and that offensive line. for Detroit was just kicking butt they. were really good they could have run the.

ball if they wanted to at any point in. that game it was a one-point game it was. close right but I I think to me their. dominance up front is so impressive. Montgomery is a really good runner and. when G has time when G can set his feet. and check the runners at first and third. and throw the ball man is he good he's. really good in that but when he has to. move like in the San Francisco game. where they finally made a move right or. left or in the ram game when they did. now Aaron Donna won't be on the field. which when you watch that tape Aaron.

Donald was neutralized in that tape I. think this lion team has so much going. for him but what worries me a little bit. is Campbell is so aggressive you know he. only tried two field goals outside of 50. yards last year he had the most first. down for since 2021 he's gone for it on. fourth down more than anybody he's had. 10 fake punts more than anybody in the. league he's very aggressive but he was. only 50% on fourth down last year I I. think if he keep if he takes more of the. points when he can. I'm not saying he needs to go into Ultra.

conservative but this team is really. good they're hard to stop they're. physical and I expect them to be better. on defense and and with their secondary. being improved I think that certainly. makes them a threat to get to the Super. Bowl that thatat about him sending the. kicker out for field goals is hilarious. especially because they signed Jake. Bates who literally was only known for. kicking long field goals in the UFL is. he all right is he starter for you guys. this year y he's a starter here in the. job okay so if he's able his leg is is. able to stay and it's very strong but.

Gap control I mean Jaylen Herz is 6 and4.

against the spread as a favorite so he's. got that going for him and one of the. things that that Jaylen Herz is going to. have to prove to the rest of the. National Football League is that when he. gets pressure coming from his right the. defensive left that he's not going to. have his eye level down and he's going. to be able to move and throw the ball up. the field now you can't minimize and. Ravens Run game tonight yeah I'm glad. you brought that up uh they lost zitler. they lost timson their two guards from. last year mcari stepping in at one in. the tackles he's been a Mainstay swing. guy he's filled in at every position but. now he's the starter and we all know. when you become the starter versus the. backup guy it's a lot different you got. to do it every day you got to be. consistent but the two interior guys uh.

the I mean vor's really I'm really. excited to watch this kid play he was a. stud coming out of college tore his ACL. before the draft and now he's getting. his opportunity they got him in like the. fifth round he probably would have been. like a first or second rounder had that. not happened so I'm excited about that. uh to see that but they got you know. Chris Jones on the other side he got a. there's a tough match up for three new. guys on the interior having heard. Lombardi earlier thinking that they're. going to go a lot of pistol I kind of. think they're going to go a lot more. offset back and play the whole Zone read.

thing that opens up the backside cut for. Derrick Henry getting downhill I think. it's goingon to be really good and. Ricard too you can have you know there's. a lot of different plays now if they go. under Center obviously that's a lot. easier I think for the entirety of it. but if they're going Zone Reed with. Lamar Jackson old school and then also. you have those two tight ends that could. be a beautiful thing to kind of watch. spag noo try to figure out how about on. the Kansas City side obviously last year. big rush here hey we got pachos stomping. all over the place we're going to win. the game on the ground and playing good.

defense they stock up at the weapons. what are your thoughts on the Kansas. City Chiefs yeah same thing I'll stick. with the offensive line obviously I'm. biased you know that I think that is the. most important position group on the. field obviously you got Mahomes back. there he can create Magic but the Chiefs. have as good of an interior three as you. can possibly want but on the other side. Jones matuk and Pierce Pierce is one of. the hardest nose guards I ever had to. play against he's 380 lbs and hard as. hell to move so I think they're going to. have their hands full in the middle but.

then same thing they got a rookie left. tackle for the Chiefs plane obviously a. lot of a lot more weapons for momes to. work with than he's used to obviously. with worthy and you know Hollywood. Brown's obviously not back yet but you. know he's he's obviously in the waiting. in the wings but you know for for me I. think the Chiefs playing at home is the. biggest Advantage I mean you got you got. the HomeField crowd you got all the. energy it's just being able to withstand. the energy of you know putting the. banner up and doing all that stuff and. all the hoopla that goes with with this. week one game go ahead AJ AQ what's it.

like uh pass blocking for a quarterback. like like Lamar Jackson where he's. moving around you're not exactly sure. he's definitely not going to be standing. on a spot like maybe some other. quarterbacks that are more stationary. does it take time to get used to kind of. where a quarterback like him is going to. be and does does that Lamar need to also. learn how these linemen set up how they. block and like where they are going to. oh interesting I didn't even think about. that yeah that's a great question I mean. I dealt with it a little bit with Kyler. Murray it's like you just never know. when he's going to escape where he's. going to escape so you're sitting there. you're just trying all all our offensive.

line coach used to say was just stay in. front fight and you never know when the. play is going to be over obviously early. in my career with rothberger same thing. he'd always kind of try and create some. magic late in the thing but it was like. with with these types of guys you just. got to sit there and just try and cover. guys up and stay on as long as possible. because you never know because when they. get those plays outside the pocket. that's when the big plays really happen. so it's like at least when you go into. the game and you know that this is the. type of quarterback you're blocking for. you feel a lot better about the. situation because if it's a guy that.

you're not used to doing that now he's. ansy in the pocket he's moving around. and you're not expecting him to do that. then you know you have no idea where. he's going to go and you might walk him. right into a sack but in this case you. know what he's going to do so the whole. goal is just stay connected at all times. until the whistle blows it's fascinating. because it could certainly make your. life a lot easier but if you just are. dumping guys into the quarterback CU you. don't know where the hell he's at that's. certainly not good for your profession. you know that especially with Lamar. Jackson your ass is going to be out of. there I I'm excited to see this young. offensive line they're could to be. tested massive moment massive listen the.

right the Right Guard they got you know. he's played tackle they drafted him as a. tackle he's that monster out of. Minnesota a couple years ago I don't. know how you pronounce his last name f l. I think it is oh yeah 6'8 I mean 6'8 6'. n playing Right Guard so throwing yeah. going to put some air under it also. that's also tough I mean the those nose. guards and D tackles you got to stay low. you got to play low like on the tackle. the length is awesome but being 68 and. having Chris Jones coming off and.

getting up underneath. you hang on boys hang on hey dog o. obviously a dog but also in the passing. especially with the tight ends you know. like a lot of shit's going to be passing. Windows going to be interesting to. figure out he's getting one in the back. of the head tonight probably yeah can we. bet on that H is is there one they'll. figure it out obviously first game too. we can't overreact to anything that we. see this evening for either team even. though we most certainly will let's stay. with the center of that Baltimore Ravens. offensive line go ahead con May yeah AQ. for a guy like Linder bom how big of the.

you know Improvement will he have. between year one and year two do you. expect him to have you know much more of. a voice on that offensive line. especially because he is one of the few. returning guys they have and how much do. you think that he'll have kind of a. better grasp of monin offense as well. going into year two yeah I think as the. center I think especially with him he's. a smart guy he had a heck of a rookie. year he's just going to continue to get. better and better and better and better. and they're going to throw more at him. they're going to put a lot more on him.

as you heard you know with Jaylen herdz. talking about Kelsey all the. responsibility that he had it's going to. eventually get to that with him where. he's making all the Run checks he's. changing the protection left to right he. sees the will free safety coming and. they're running a Mike S protection boom. let's flip it the other way he's going. to be doing all of that stuff the thing. that I'm concerned about is when you. have two good guards and you're used to. playing next to two good guards and now. you have younger new inexperienced. guards and I'm not saying who knows. these guys may end up being absolutely. phenomenal but if there's any drop off.

it makes that whole interior look. different right and so I get a little I. get a little weary about that I'm. excited to see this group this new group. tonight but I think with Linder bomb. he's the guy that's got to be steady and. you got to just stick with the mindset. of hey do your job and don't do too much. because when you start trying to do too. much then your play starts to diminish. last question here from Baltimore from. Tai yeah AQ with the young offensive. line as a guy who played and coached how. big of an impact will it have um for. like the fact that they you know.

obviously tragically their o line coach. Joe D alisandra passed away how big of. an impact week to week and over the. course of the season will that actually. have with him not being. around yeah I think it I think it is. going to have an impact especially early. right like it's that's a guy I mean I. you saw Marshall Yonder Ryan Jensen some. of these guys that played for him you. know a couple years ago obviously the. guys that currently play for him love. him to death but just hearing those guys. talk about him too not to mention he's a. peace rest in peace and um you know but. they they ended up going and getting a. really good veteran offens of line coach. to step in I think that'll help. especially with game day operations if. it was just an assistant who maybe never. been there before game day operations. are so much different than practice so. when you get a guy who's been there. before run a room ran a room in the NFL. on a sideline and knows how to handle. the game day operations and not talk too. much and just kind of let the guys do.

best short yardage play in the history. of football the the tush push you know. is that thing going to be an. issue yeah so to start with the second. part the tush push I think Kelsey made. that play you know we'll see if Cam can. do that but getting back to cam cam. started some games at guard last year. which I think will only help his. development at Center and for me when I. saw when they drafted cam Jurgens I. started watching in some of the. preseason games a couple years ago I was. like oh they they just went and got a. new Jason Kelce so when you watch him.

he's going to be doing all the same. stuff he's pulling he's athletic as hell. getting out in space doing all the same. things he finishes people like Jason did. will he be the same player that's a tall. task we all get that Jason's a Hall of. Famer he's a stud absolute animal the. biggest thing that you spoke about there. was the communication and when you're. playing Center you know obviously you. can physically be great player but the. communication aspect is everything right. it's everything and especially for a. quarterback that relies on that cam is. going to have to really really really. help Jaylen out with that and I hope.

hope he can pick that up and that's the. biggest thing but physically I'm really. excited to watch cam play because he. reminds me a lot of Jason Kelsea is he. one of these guys tip of the ball look. around if he is I don't like it one bit. tip of the ball guy look around I hate. the tip of the ball stuff can we get it. out of the game you think it needs to be. eliminated from the game I think it's. got to go with the guardian. caps well well we learned yesterday. going helmet Roger gell said there's. already a helmet that has a guardian cap. safety thing already put in there and. then I heard C granson say I'm wearing.

in and switching to a Zone run scheme. how hard is that for an o line that. hasn't been doing the Zone run scheme. for the last couple years and how long. does it take for you to get comfortable. as an o line to switching to a new. offense and a new run scheme yeah fans. need to be patient that's the first. thing I'll say because oh Pittsburgh's. very patient that's. patient yeah just like me real patient. exactly exactly the big thing the big. thing when you do that right like so.

that whole team none of those bodies. along that offensive line that they've. scouted and drafted and put together as. you know a 53 Man team for the last. couple years were built to be Zone guys. so now you bring in a whole new system. and Zone Zone scheme system and that's. why a lot of times when these things. happen you try and bring one or two guys. like you would typically think that. already would have or tried to get one. or two guys that came from Atlanta or. somewhere else right that that ran that. scheme and they really didn't so um Sam.

moala from Philadelphia was in that that. scheme so he gets he has a little leg up. on everybody else obviously they did a. good job drafting with Fraser and fanu. right like those guys are going to be. used to because that's what they ran in. college but you still got a couple other. pieces and all the depth guys that. you're hoping can really come along and. obviously you saw it take a little bit. of time in the preseason and it's going. to take some time because when you're. built be one scheme I was not built to. be his Zone scheme when I was in his. Zone scheme guess what I was cut get out. of here go somewhere else go somewhere.

where you're meant to take somebody. oneon-one and drive block right like. that's that's what I was built for the. guys that you know are built to do to do. zones right like you look down at some. of these guys like a Chris lindström or. you know some of the guys down in. Atlanta like you put them in a scheme. where they're meant to be drop back past. 50 times a game and they're getting. pushed back into the quarterback so. listen scheme is everything and where. your put in that scheme in that system. it has a lot to do with your successes. how do you feel tonight what's a lean. you have Chiefs are favored by three at.

home against the Ravens obviously a lot. of meat on the Ravens side of the ball a. lot of new faces on the Chiefs offensive. side of the ball was still with the.
