football Giants will do battle on Prime. Kirk and Al will be on the call for Al. this is actually is 20th Cowboys Giants. game wow congrats now continue to. absolutely Crush you Cowboys is. currently favored by six on ESPN bet. five and a half on every other book. depending upon which uh side you like. you probably get in right now we're. going to be talking about the matchup. obviously what people think and we're. going to have a guy who's been a coach. in his lifetime for 36 years of football.

18 in college 18 the NFL and don't look. now he is currently 3 and0 on his. Thursday night football against the. spread selections ladies and gentlemen. Chuck. bon no waffling no waffling no waffling. we know what happens when you waffle. yeah we learned a lot about your. household for sure but the um the. cooking that is being done there by you. is certainly phenomenal and this is not. a fluke he was 114 and one I think last. year against the spread now he's you. know this Tian can really break it down.

Warner's got a life film go ahead and. watch I'm like gray show and turf I. can't wait to watch this thing we're. gonna have him spinning toilet paper and.

then we're going to have him throwing. the ball over the yard over there in. that offense to a super doing his whole. thing it was a Hallmark movie it was and. I'll tell you what I just I cried my. eyes out first time since what was that. big ass whale Willie yeah I choose not. to listen to songs that'll make you cry. or watch movies that'll make you cry. even though my wife tries to you know uh. get me in there so I have a little bit. more emotion she said I need to. experience a little bit more emotion. didn't watch any Disney movies growing. up I stayed away from those because. there's always something bad at the. beginning I like to live my high life CT.

Warner's life story phenomenal and it. all revolves around one thing loves ball. loves being a good teammate that's right. and we're very thankful that it is. seemingly you know this is two weeks in. a row now maybe we can pick him up again. next week maybe he becomes teammate of. the program aw we love that to have Kurt. Warner around and him and his wife still. need to teach me how to a [ __ ] Square. Dan that's right cuz that was a big for. of a movie too it was he had two left. feet there for a bit didn't he and maybe. that's why he didn't make it to the NFL. initially but he needed all those. failures to get to the part there he was.

and uh I'm very thankful that he'll be. joining us and then Jim Cantor will join. us huge 205 Eastern important who's Jim. Kantor you say oh uh he's the weatherman. on the Weather Channel okay they got a. lot of people telling the weather and. now we come from the city Joe Nardo. created the Doppler yes he did greatest. meteorologist weather person in the. history of weather if he said it it. happened that's why Joe say it would. course okay and that is he created a. Doppler I mean that's the whole thing. Jim canor though immediately afterwards.

says you know what I'll be the weather. person now there is a massive storm. hurricane Helen uh I don't know if. that's proper pronunciation or not there. was some purple on the map yesterday but. this is going to affect a lot of. different sports here obviously now we. hope everybody's safe it's going to. affect people's lives wa that that. obviously there's a very real part of. this entire thing and we have positive. teas and pees to everybody that's going. to be affected by this but Sports big. big big deal this weekend obviously. Alabama Georgia it's right there on the. Golf Shores hello Alabama's right there. how much is that going to affect that. particular game that particular setup is.

Georg going to have to fly early then. you obviously got baseball I guess is. having a massive situation here at the. end of the season a lot of fans pissed a. lot of fans pissed Mets fans most. specifically yeah uh Atlanta and the. Mets coming down to like a basically hey. last couple games of the Season here are. going to dictate who's going to make the. playoffs it was in Atlanta so they. obviously they had to cancel two games. now they have a double header on Monday. so it's kind of just like you know. gimmicky hey throw everything you got in. one day that's B basically going to.

decide the season which is wild to think. about uh once I I'm not going to say. anything baseball has got it figured out. we don't have any uh recommendations. ever for that sport okay that that is. not how this show operates they got to. figure it out they'll do that fans. aren't happy there tone also in Orlando. there's a big one that this storm could. potentially Colorado's going to UCF in. Orlando 3:30 on Saturday and I saw the. rain I think it was like 80 90% there on. Saturday so it'll be interesting to see. what cant to thinks especially cuz UCF. likes to run that rock and we know. Colorado like spin it they like to spin.

it but it raid at the end of last week's. game when they went to overtime and won. that one with two hell Mary so maybe. they're used to it now yeah Chuck just. gave he's good yeah in the middle of the. rain two Hail Mary's downfall and and. once again I'd like to reiterate the. fact that we are incredibly proud of the. people that are trailblazing in the. technology department when it comes to. cameras crazy because there'll be. torrential downpour and you're watching. at home you can't see a r drop top. unless raindrop I had no idea not a. single one no and it's just wild to. think that we've got it how do they just. filter out I don't know how I have no.

know yesterday we we asked AQ what were. some talking points that he had coming. out of week three of the NFL season and. for you you said Hey listen do do you. think we should maybe chitchat about. maybe why offenses aren't as prolific. currently through the air as they have. been in the past and you actually. pitched this idea and I think it's a. brilliant one do you want to do you want. to maybe showcase this new segment Chuck. or what figure it out yeah there you go. there it is we're not bummed out we're. going to figure it out okay so we're. obviously right now we are currently oh.

no currently in the middle of an. offensive regression whenever it comes. to Stats and analytics okay that is. basically where we are whenever it comes. through the first three weeks of the NFL. season but also there's other stats that. are kind of popping up too games are. shorter than they've been in the past. right how many drives are or how many. serieses possessions are way down. scoring's down pass yards are down. rushing obviously is up you know so. there's not as many clock stoppages you.

don't have as many passes you don't have. as many complete incompletions so the. game's the game's moving along faster is. is this a radical evolution of football. Happening Here versus what we've seen in. recent memories sure seems like right. now I hopefully they figure it out okay. let's get to it what do you mean by. figure it out shall we so we're going to. highlight if we pause that right there. um there's some defensive coordinators. out there this first one obviously. Dennis Allen called calls a defense for. the Saints he's done a great job for a.

long long time he's known for the. Exotics he's known for putting a lot of. guys at the line of line of scrimmage. and and offensive uh Personnel offensive. line backs quarterbacks got to figure. this stuff out right yep so uh we're. going to highlight him on this first one. so you can see they've got eight. Defenders at the line of scrimmage right. it's third it's third and 11 Talk would. you consider like two yards an in to be. at the line of scrimmage cuz sometimes. linebackers Peak up but here anybody. that's not covered down on a wide.

receiver okay an eligible receiver here. and they're standing at the line of. scrimmage or they're within a couple. yards of the end man on the line of. scrimmage and they're they're in a. stance that looks like they're going to. pressure the quarterback count them I. think you got to assume that one or all. these dudes are coming and that's the. big question mark right and that's the. big question mark is trying to figure. out as a quarterback right who we can ID. all right you got to try to figure out. who are the four known rushers the big. guys right so it's easy when you got two.

D tackles and two ends and they say okay. those guys are known rushers they may. drop occasionally and then who's going. to be the fifth for the offensive line. so they've got the four known and then. and then the the the mic Point they've. got the fifth guy this Center whoever. you know and then anybody else has got. to be handled by an extra protector a. running back are we going to hang a. tight end and keep a tight end in in. protection usually everybody wants to. get five out you know right now so it's. a lot of lot of scap prot five man then.

you get six and seven man so here they. bring they start the running back out. wide gainwell right why they got him out. wide to start to see if it's Manor uh. Zone give the quarterback some tell. right trying to gather some information. pre- snap right see if it's manner zone. so they've got Latimore out here he's. covered down on him nobody else moved so. he's got to figure okay he could have. had this guy maybe maybe not so now we. got to go and point and so what happens. here they've got eight at the line of. scrimmage how many they end up rushing. they end up rushing five and they're.

going to get a free runner okay off the. off the right side of the offensive line. defense is left and it's a it's a 3-2. look for for for Dennis Allen's defense. so three bigs and then the rest of guys. are DBS and linebacker types so they got. figure it out they did not there so. gainwell was looking inside at a. Lineback this that and the other and. then scanned over to the right and by. the time he scanned over there um uh uh. what's his name Taylor from from the. Saints got the sack okay here you got. six up right hey what's going on with. this guy and how many protectors do they.

have what's going on with this guy. theall what's going on with this guy he. ain't running the ball he need sacks. eight sacks okay all the Giants just. last week that's the Giants defense they. play tonight right night tonight easy. big night tonight tiido what burns sexy. Dexter. Lord. pinck number 27 keep an eye out for. him his name two SS flying around s out. there pinck pinck anyways uh eight sacks.

one game obviously huge that was so. anyway the guy up covered up uh top of. the uh screen there on the slot MH. deshaan they're not going to count him. cuz it looks like he's got what man man. coverage on number two right at the top. they're man across the board you got. middle Clos free safety right so they. could bring six of these guys and then. green dog the back so all six has the. have the back if he decides to go out if.

they keep him in protection so they've. got a double double a gap look here Pat. and and the boys so they got double A so. what's going to happen is they directed. the center all right opposite the back. he's going to protect the left a gap if. that backer comes the back has the right. a gap that's the guy that's dropping on. the right side right so everybody else. is covered and everybody else is in. protection so the back has got that. right a gap to scan so if that guy drops. he he's over Zeal he jumps up in the.

line of scrimmage he's supposed to stop. check if that guy drops and pick up any. other known rusher now this wide. receiver looks why I don't know if he's. built into a hot obviously the. quarterback this wasn't an answer for. him this wasn't one of his deals like. okay if they do bring this guy even. though we have this protector we're. going to go hot because he misses it so. that may be onto Shawn but the back. should have scanned and picked this guy. up he doesn't and you got a free runner. backs up bear in a safety and so he's. just slipping through so obviously you.

can see there's there's confusion there. and these guys do a great job this Shane. Bowen he's the defensive coordinator. we're going to talk more about him later. on in the program he's done a great job. there at at the Giants so here they got. they got five they got a linebacker all. these other guys are covered down so. they're in six-man protection here. they've got their five offensive lineman. obviously and they've got the back so. what happens here he gives the fake like. try to get these guys to declare right. so we always taught the defensive guys. look at the play. cuz the great quarterbacks the Aaron.

Rogers the pton Mannings right Tom. Brady's they get you going there's 20. seconds 18 seconds 15 seconds and and. they do this and the defense goes like. this hold your water they're not going. to snap it trust us and if they do just. Sprint to where you're supposed to get. to yeah get your ass. back like a hey don't give it away but. also give away so they get you they get. guys to tilt and lean and and and give. the quarterback Tails so what happens. here so stop it real quick why do you.

think okay 90's up top right oh yeah. right this right offensive tackle is. going to be a really good player right. Joe Al the rookie for the Chargers okay. so Watts on a rookie right offensive. tackle right why do you think they have. the back over there Pat well I think the. back is going to certainly give a little. lookie to see has to right give him some. chip right get get the ribs right so. what happens is oh no Terell Austin's a. DC over there at at the Steelers does a. great job unbelievable so he's got this.

right this guard covered so he's picked. up the right guard's picked up by the. guy sugar and then this number six is. that Queen yes so Pat Queen was at. Baltimore he's going to come so what. happens The Backs got to pick him up in. protection so that leaves watt singled. on all uhoh no chance can't have that. good so hey do we think the defense. coordinators are just uh they're beating. offenses right now is wi the pass game. more specifically whenever you talk. about showing bring in who's there this. is the amoa defense this the Exotics.

we've been talking about feels like. everybody's doing it now just a few. teams were doing it back in the day. right there's some guys that obviously. in the National Football League have got. protections figured out they know how to. attack protections and unlike Dallas if. you don't force people into third and. long you don't get to do this got it. well and is this on Center or. quarterback cuz like for the first one. with the Eagles like how how much are. missing yeah or coaches too like how. much are they missing like a Kelce on.

the field cuz obviously you know right. tackle when you have the experience. Center like that and he can help you ID. all this stuff and take some of this off. like DeShawn Watson missed so much time. I don't know how much he's doing from a. protection standpoint and how much he's. leaning on that offensive Center so it's. a combination so some some quarterbacks. can handle all of it some they put on. the offensive centers to diagnose. everything and set the protection change. the protections ID the mic all those. kind of things so I think it's a. combination comment how about Aaron said.

that when he's reading defenses he looks. at the dline first I'm looking at the. pressure first and then I'm going back. or whatever safeties he said he goes. dline and then he goes back he said. that's the first thing he looks at the. first thing he's trying to figure out is. where the pressure is coming CU I would. like survive this play I think that is. his number one thing and then obviously. with this Rush he knows what the. coverage is probably going to be and. that's why it takes forever for him to. snap balls that's why we're at four to. your point three two. ah snap and time out he get so mad when.

he turn his head timeout chin strap off. so pissed wasn't able to figure it out. fast enough and he kind of takes that on. the chin or whatever like that's legit. it's amazing that more teams are. starting to [ __ ] with uh offense and I. think when you got personnel and you can. you can switch personnel and you've got. a bunch of different Personnel groupings. and it's not the same six or seven. jersey numbers at the line of scrimmage. every down now you don't have known. rusher jersey numbers they moving all. those guys around is that a part of the.

problem too because you got guys that. are uh undersized maybe because they can. all move or these all is it a bigger. defense thing um again I think you take. third and seven plus out of the out of. the equation when it comes to size it it. really doesn't matter unless somebody's. just going to dare you know pop a run. you're daring them to pop a run on you. not many people are going to do it so. you can play with a bunch of different. Personnel groupings once you get to. second and pass third and pass. situations OB obvious past situation. hembo stat uh Flora is number one in the.

league in dime Personnel right now dime. Personnel does that mean anything to you. whenever you hear that yeah you're. usually taking a backup safety and he's. playing down in the box with one of your. Elite linebackers is that personal. you'll see you'll see it tonight number. 24 for the Giants he'll play in dime. Personnel for them on Third and pass. situations is that if you have that. player to do that is that why you're. doing it more or is it scheme. related um both but you got to have a. dude that you trust and know cuz once. you play down there if they do pop a run.

he's got to know his run fit based on. the front and coverage all right and. then pass coverage he's got to know okay. he's got a two deep three deep single. high man uh fivan pressure six man he's. got to know all those blitzes so you got. to be pretty damn sharp to know first. and second down as a base safety and. then they move you down to the dime. backer spot know the run and pass for. front and coverage calls is that palamu. stuff is that back in the day I mean. what a nightmare he rolls down in the. boxer he didn't if I remember right I.

mean they kept him at safety but he was. him and Ed Reed they never played dime. they stayed at safety but what they did. with them was different so they would. line them up at the line of scrimmage. and the ball would sna and I remember. both Troy and Ed would run to a middle. third from the line of scrimmage. Harrison's doing it right now I Harrison. Smith's doing that or they're they're. back deep in coverage or they're faking. like they're they've got M think. defenses are beating offenses right now. though like that that's uh that's not. the conversation the conversation is.

these offenses stink these offenses are. bad football is bad right now people. aren't playing preseason football so the. timing's off quarterbacks are off wide. receivers holding out they don't know. their plays they don't know their field. they're not ready until like week five. of all of it right that's what all the. [ __ ] being said new coaches new. coordinators new players young. quarterbacks trying to figure all. speaking of Let's Get To One Jaden. Daniels rookie for the Washington. command. we talk about figure it out here so the.

situation fourth quarter 215 left in the. game third and seven right this is a got. to Havoc play for L anarumo and the. Cincinnati defense right if they get a. stop here they're going to keep this at. a onore game and have a chance to to go. down and tire win this thing I'm I'm not. sure the score but I think it's a one-. score game right now they got to they. got to have stop they got to have a stop. so how many did they have up eight they. had eight up so if you take it back if. you take it I'm sorry I just want to.

he's got it figured out you heard him in. his postgame press conference right. talking about hey I knew I was going to. get hit so he knew and they've got the. the pressure rusher that guy guy that's. got the tight end he's blitzing. automatically and what you do when this. happens is you block from inside out so. if you're going to let a guy go free. you're not going to let a linebacker or. somebody come up the a gap untouched. right because he's going to be in the. quarterback's face right now and you're. not going to get the ball off so you're. going to get the either the left Edge or. the right Edge rusher you're going to.

let him go free it was a great pick up. by to buyself to buy yourself time did. you see the pickup by the back oh yeah. we got the incredible you see that oh. incredible by that kid number 26 I. forget his name somebody told me his. name. earlier oh you know what he is that's a. Indianapolis kid obviously dog should. have came to the Colts there was a time. where I thought he was potentially. coming thank you for that so maybe these. offenses are just trying to figure it. out but you can't uh a lot of these. defens coordinators you mentioned a few. of them there and there's plenty more. around the league that are very talented. it's like uh they they know they have. tells too so like all eight up that's.

going to be different that's going to be. different every on purpose like that is. going to have to be different every time. so you can't get to tell so literally. offensive linemen quarterbacks coaches. whatever the case is are just going to. have to. literally figure it out and you don't. know until real time you don't know. until real time and then defense. coordinators correct me if I'm wrong if. there is a fish on the offensive line. too they can start running that [ __ ] red. dot yeah yeah he's getting red dotted. and there's a lot of backup offensive. lineman this week offensive linan got. hurt so it's like with the way defenses.

have been performing with what you just. showcased there with a bunch of backup. offensive linemen it's like these first. three series first two series for these. backup offensive linemen big deal. because if they get to the sideline. Chuck knows this obviously I probably. learned it from him if they get to the. sideline and they go hey this guy sucks. it is coming the entire game but if you. put the fire out early and if you can. just survive like first two series then. you will still that'll be Big T. cuz you got a rookie left tackle and gon.

for the Cowboys and you got BB a rookie. Center and you could a blind up sexy. Dexter Lawrence right over the top of. that BB on his nose that's tough and. then and you got Brian Burns and Tibido. on the. edges now gon got to get through that. first go gon gon's played two years of. tackle okay and it was right tackle and. he's starting a left tackle now he's 68. he's a good athlete he's all that but he. ain't played a lot football as an. offensive lineman and protect them you.

worried about that this evening with. this defensive line the Giants just came. out of eight sacks now the Giants if you. do recall their season right now and. Giants fans are incredibly excited they. start their season with Vikings get. their ass kicked right it's a good team. get their ass very good team we know. that now then they play the commanders. lose the kicker in warm-ups so they lose. by three should have won didn't give up. a touchdown yeah to Jaden Daniels which. we obviously see going forward and then. they beat the Browns last week which is. obviously a common opponent with the. Dallas Cowboys they both have a win over. the Browns but it's like New York Giants.

fans are like we found it yeah yeah we. absolutely found it and then Cowboys. fans are wondering if they got it yes. you know like uh AQ Shipley broke down. yesterday about how the Atlanta Falcons. offensive line was built to be run in. Arty Smith's offense so a Zone offensive. line So then whenever they come in this. year and they have a new offense. coordinator new scheme they're trying to. use Zone offensive lineman but they're. trying to do them in a not Zone uh style. so it's fit it's scheme it's Personnel y. y y they end up changing that and doing. that the Dallas Cowboys conversation.

then led into the fact that Zimmer's. defense different than Quinn's defense. so maybe they don't have the guys to run. Zimmer's defense going to take some time. but they don't have time McCarthy's last. deal like last year his deals I guess. they just signed Dak back full-time yeah. five years so maybe they do have some. time to continue to build but they're in. win right now type season will Zimmer. change or will the players have to. change how do you think that goes I I. think they're just going to have to keep. evolving they're going to have to try to. figure it out obviously I mean these are. two one two teams and like you said they.

are running out of time anytime you get. a new voice in front of the room you may. be like when I went to Chicago Vic was. there before I got to Chicago and they. were number one in damn near every damn. category right it's well documented uh. Mel Kyper said I stunk as a coordinator. there right mad. millad mad Mill Al might yeah we don't. hear I don't know him that well but mad. Mel you know so we did a lot of the same. Concepts a lot of same fronts you know.

took some stuff that they had done they. why would I go in there and say no we're. going to throw all this great defense. out and we're going to do it you know. whatever I'm that that would be ignorant. so that's not the case there Zim knows. they've kept they've still play one two. three got coverages double barrel. whatever you know but it's a different. voice some new coaches maybe some. different techniques maybe some. different ways we teach things so it it. takes it takes time them being Sixpoint. favorites is a little stinky to me just. with the Vibes around both teams the ton.

after getting killed two weeks in a row. it's very interesting and and this is. where Lee Coro would say somebody knows. something and I'm with somebody and it's. like it is an interesting it's a very. interesting line here I think personally. just if you think strictly vibes from. both teams that is coming out at this. week four very early in this so 89 to 17. they were outscored last year you think. that's got something to do with it well. also what is it seven out of the last. eight the Cowboys have beat the Giants. and I think win was week 17 they didn't.

play any of their guys cuz they already. had a playoff thing clenched yeah Danny. dimes 1 and seven I guess against the. uh on the road seems interesting to me. how do you feel about the line and uh. what are you looking forward to this. evening well I heard you guys talking. about the the problem the Cowboys had. look here's the Cowboys problem it was. last year they just masked it better. they were up 124 points in the first. half so nobody could really run the ball. on them in the second half in the five. losses every team that they lost to ran. the ball for over 120 yards the only. game that that the Lions ran the ball. for 130 against them but lost because of. we know those calls so this Cowboy run.

defense hasn't been good going back to. last year they've just been able to mask. it they're a nickel defense that has to. rush the passer they have to play from. in front this year they haven't been. able to do that they've gotten behind. and so for the cowboys tonight they've. got to start fast against a secondary. that's not very good of the of the. Giants they got to protect the. quarterback and they got to throw it and. they got to make Danny dimes play. quarterback they got to make him play. from behind I think that's the key and. for the giants look the Giants pass rush.

won the game last week but here's the. reality of that game in the fourth. quarter the Giants offense only got two. first downs against Cleveland they. didn't score any points the Giants all. year long have only scored nine points. in the second half nine points in the. second half total so they're going to. have to find some offense in the second. half to get going for me I I think. ultimately it comes down to if the. Cowboys play from in front the Giants. will have a hard time tonight okay Lambo. it sounds like you're uh leaning one. particular way let me bring bring some. more stats for you to chitchat about. that Giants offense and quarterback more.

that makes it hard for Cincinnati is. they're 31st in the league in rushing. attempts they don't really helped the. defensive coordinator out slowing the. game down and look they didn't make. Washington punt the whole day they never. could get control of the game and that's. a real problem and I think their. defensive front isn't playing to the. level we've seen it play in the past. Jacksonville to me you know that game. was a disaster from start to finish in. Buffalo and they had opportunities to. win two games they should have beat. Miami they should have beat Cleveland in. week two but they just can't seem to. make enough plays in their passing game.

I mean Trevor Lawrence can't seem to. make plays their offensive line hasn't. played very well at all you know and the. pressure is on them I mean look sha Khan. the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars. came out and said this is the most. talented team they've had in. into potential storm but always slows. down these things kind of I don't want. to say make land and then they kind of. slow down but they do and then they're. saying this one though potentially it's. going to power way uping up this one's. got heat yeah it's going to affect up. here up here's going to get all shitty. weather as well can't wait to fly hope. everybody's okay I hope everybody's okay. um storm surge 20 fet yeah. you see that graphic about like what a. typical twostory house it's like you.

know 12et I mean we're talking like. covering the roofs of some people's. houses storm surge is the ocean showing. up on land right that's what we learned. that's what we've learned from following. along with this over there and they're. saying like potential 20 foot storm. surge now with most storms you know. there is a potential a little bit bigger. than it ends up being and then they're. saying this one is like real deal though. so we'll talk to Jim Kor in about an. hour in 5 minutes kind of learn about. all this stuff that'll be live ESPN plus. my best every single day that I took the. field I knew that he did the same thing. and I think that's why I respected his. coaching so much whenever they talk. about the Patriot Way that is normally. the reason that is given is like the. Patriot Way the Patriot Way the Patriot. Way I've never used that term in my. entire life I think when people say it. I'm always like what's the Patriot way. it sounds like the title of a book I. think what we tried to do was we tried. to do things the right way I think we. tried to practice the right way and. prepare prep the right way what happened. on Game day was ultimately a reflection. of what we practiced and I thought we.

had great leadership from our coaches. and it filtered down to the guys who. really drove the culture we had so many. guys that I played with over the course. of a lot of years that really understood. that okay I'm going to care about my. teammates and I'm going to care about. helping the team win there's a guy on. our show who is Die Hard Patriot fan. Boston Connor has a question for you. yeah Tommy I have to what's up Boston I. have to start and just say thank you you. know uh my whole life has been. incredible because of the fact that you. have won six Super Bowls and you know. of a chocolate sweets guy that type of. angle you know took one bite of this. chip I'm like this is the greatest chip. that ever existed holy [ __ ] I am now a. salt and vinegar chip person but there. are levels to the salt and vinegar chips. Ireland that might have been the. greatest chip I've ever unbelievable is. that the best one ever created I wonder. I I would argue yes next to Cape Cod CH. Cape Cod salt and Vinnies if you're kind. of just getting into the salt and. Vin get some Cap Cod Vinnies I'm a. Pringles salt and Vinnie guy there very. good I did have a Pringles run in my. time the pizza Pringles so good and they. were right once you pop oh yeah you. could never stop and you know exactly. how many you're getting when it comes. the tennis ball container thing I know.

the shape of the Chip and the pop is a. part of the entire thing and because. it's solid you don't get crunched up. Pringles and things like that it wasn't. you had to drink that did you had to. drink those chips you always did if you. couldn't get your hands in there so that. was the only thing I didn't necessarily. love especially if they little daggers. you know this thing split in half at the. end oh yeah you maybe they should flip. it upside down probably oh doublesided. yeah open it from the bottom as well. maybe you got to the bottom you know so. that it isn't just a pop thing sure once. you smack crack once you crack throw it.

back yeah that's not bad that's not bad. yeah look at us hold on anyway salt and. vinegar very good chips we need to. figure out you're trying to get to the. bottom of it yeah yeah going to going to. try and reach out to a few people and. see if we can get a hook I haven't had a. UCF massive game and then Georgia Bama. massive game potentially getting. affected by it we'll talk to Jim Kor. later AJ just like to get your thoughts. on the weather here as we are about to. embark on the rest of the football. season what does seem to be a sketchy. time to be traveling right now and. flying anywhere I know that any directly.

that way yeah anywhere near the so is it. just like how far inward is this going. to have like how far will this affect I. think like you know towards Central. Florida Jim Cantor will tell us the. storm surge is a real deal the potential. thing there at the end is good news. though yeah you know cuz uh I don't know. everything about the hurricane World. down there you live down in Miami for a. while yep CU you're coaching down there. uh I don't know how often they're called. for how much they're we seen some big. ones and obviously the videos have been. no fun at all and heard about that but. up here with like winter storms they are.

normally a lot of bark not a lot of bite. yes normally like hey shut down a city. it's coming go shopping today people are. saying you need to do that now but for. the storms they say that is the thing is. it happen with hurricanes as well or or. absolutely but like in the Gulf is a. different deal cuz it's they can either. you know lose power lose strength go. from a category three to a two to a one. but when they're coming up on the. Atlantic side on the Eastern board like. we had two games canceled at University. of Miami two different seasons you know.

so we cancel the game we got a uh a big. um deal from the north uh give me the. pressure cold front pressure right this. thing's coming up from the south pushes. it out to sea we cancel the game I mean. we're having cook out in the backyard. not a drop okay nice people yeah go to. the deal pay $110,000 for a rack of. water they gouge you put a piece of. plywood up we had one piece of plywood. right and we'd do one bedroom the girls.

bedroom put the thing up so hey this is. where we're going this is the bedroom. this is where we're going to be no storm. twice twice okay two different times so. there is a little bit because they don't. know you don't know because it pushed it. this way Jim Kor knows though that's why. we're gonna have them all Jim Kor is. gonna have them all exactly I'm kind of. scared to move down there you know I. I've thought about like hey old family. Samantha McKenzie and I like where do we. want to end up at Arizona is so hot but. it's so awesome so nice Florida deep.

down there scared to death of the storms. and alligators you know so I don't. really know what the right answer is put. yourself Texas I like Lakes I'm becoming. a lake guy so I think you just got to. find a piece nonetheless we'll talk to. Jim canor about that tonight week four. of the NFL season kicks off AJ I don't. know how you feel about the Cowboys or. the Giants at this exact moment Chuck. has kind of given away what he thinks I. think Lombardi said he likes the Giants. but he likes the Cowboys but he would. take the Giants with points thinks it's. going to be close stats say that the.

Cowboys have beat the dog [ __ ] out of. the Giants over the last like eight. maybe even 14 attempts through this. entire thing how are you leaning here. early and uh what are you looking. forward to uh tonight honestly I mean. I'm not really sure what the Giants are. I feel like they've uh you know they it. was all doom and gloom early on now. there's there's plenty of Hope when it. comes to Giants I think their defense. obviously we know they can be very very. elite but you know what if to pick right. now I'm not making a choice but I am. leaning I'm leaning towards Dallas at. the moment okay I'm excited to hear who.

you pick at the end of the show. officially and we'll obviously talk more. um about this game I want to run a clip. uh from Devonte Adams talking about the. offenses and defenses around the NFL and. kind of his take on it and then we'll. bring in a guest who is an absolute dog. a phenomenal football mind to get his. thoughts on it as well here's Devonte. Adams talking about why offenses might. be down a little bit and defenses might. be up a little bit everybody just trying. to figure it out I think defenses. typically get rolling a little bit. figure it out sooner and um I feel like.

defense I could be making this up but. just based off my uh my observation I. feel like there's less turnover on. defense as far as coordinators and. coaches as well too so like our. situation we coming in with a new. coordinator and new offense and we got. carryover from the you know and our. defense is looking a lot better than our. offense right now so that's how it goes. and sometimes it takes a little bit more. time to find a rhythm um it's harder to. to to move it then stop it you know as. far as you know my experience so um we.

just got to figure out what we got to do. and and hopefully be on the other side. of there it's harder to move it than. stop it it's kind of a bar there for the. football World from Devonte Adams. joining us now ladies and gentlemen Hall. of Famer Super Bowl champ KT. War Kurt did you hear what Devonte just. said there and what are your thoughts uh. on it as a state of the NFL. currently well I mean I think there's. every situation is different uh yeah I. am air believer that when you have new. coordinators and you're asked to do. things differently that it takes time.

you know I was always a believer that. you know when you got into a new system. offensively maybe AJ can talk about. defensively but offensively uh for me it. it took about 12 months to really. fully understand uh and be able to react. to the new offense and you know I've. always used kind of the analogy of of. learning a new language so when you go. to learn a new language and you learn. you know word in a new language uh in. the beginning stages what happens is you.

revert back to your common language so. if it's Spanish and somebody says Ola. you think in your head oh that that's. hello it doesn't automatically um you. know go to oh that that means hello like. that's that's just a natural reaction. you you translate it back and so you're. playing or thinking slower you know even. to this day uh when I watch a play uh. you just when I'm watching film I revert. back to uh the language that we used uh. with the greatest show on Turf it wasn't.

even the last place that I was but but. back you know in the original stages I. just see things and think of things. through that language so everything. becomes a translation so when you come. into a new offense and you'll you'll. watch film and you'll go oh you know. that's a play that everybody runs you. know this quarterback has run this and. all four places that he's been but the. Nuance or or what a coach wants you to. do or the tech technique by which uh you. know receivers run routes can all change. on top of the fact that you're having to.

think about the play as opposed to when. you were in the first place oh I know. exactly what I'm doing I know exactly. who I'm reading I know exactly where my. eyes need to go so that process of. learning and being able to react um you. know to be able to have somebody call a. formation and then visualize that. formation right off the bat or a play. and you know exactly what everybody's. doing that's what you want to get to but. it's hard in the early stages and you. know up until recently there was uh very. few really good quarterbacks that went.

from one place to another and had great. success and a lot of it was because you. get so familiar and comfortable in your. setting and what you're doing and what. they're asking you to do in an offense. that when you have to go and change and. there is those differences it's hard to. excel yeah at the same level now we've. seen that change with you know Tom Brady. and and Matthew Stafford did it and. we've seen it change a little bit um you. know recently but that to me is one of. the challenges when you go from one.

place to another uh even though you're a. really good quarterback it's seeing and. understanding the new nuances of of the. new offense the same way you did the old. offense yeah and Matt Ryan coming to. Indianapolis didn't work I don't think. he ever fully grasps uh the offense and. I think you hear people say like we used. to call it or we called it this and then. they have to learn the next one Tom. Brady and Bruce arens obviously down. there in Tampa uh it wasn't until Bruce. and them decided like okay yeah we'll do. Tom's we'll do Tom's off did they really. start to have success pton gets to.

Denver and they say uh hey what do you. want to do on the offensive side of the. ball it's like that is seemingly what. has happened in a couple different. places and then you know with offens. coordinators changing so quickly these. days there's obviously you talked about. the greatest show on Turf we got a stat. from hembo earlier today do you know you. have like three of the top offenses in. the history of the NFL like this is we. lower the yep so in the top 15 uh you. have three of the greatest offenses uh.

that have ever ever taken place K did. you know this stat that hembo sent over. it was literally middle of the show last. hour he said hey if you're having Kurt. Warner on today he actually was. quarterback of like uh three of the most. historically great offenses in the. history of the NFL that's phenomenal in. a short period of time yeah we do no. doubt but I mean I would always argue. that I think you know our offense was. the greatest offense the league has has. ever seen I say that you know and and. and it speaks to the idea that you know. we're on there three times you know not. just one season because you could argue.

you know Payton season in Denver or Tom. um you know one of his Seasons could. maybe be the greatest season that we've. seen But to put it together for three. straight years the way that we did I. don't know if there's ever been an. offense that has been that good and. obviously we were filled with with Hall. of Famers and great players on top of a. system that fit what all of us do and I. think that's kind of what we're speaking. to is the idea of getting a system that. fits your players you know I had the.

same situation when I went to Arizona. and it took some time to be able to. shape the offense around a who we were. as a team but B who I was as a. quarterback and so you know you want to. play to the strengths of your. quarterback and call plays the way your. quarterback sees the game and so it it. takes time uh to be able to do that and. you know maybe to what you know Devonte. was saying is that okay defenses may be. ahead right now as all these offenses. are trying to fit into the new scheme.

and you know new guys like Kurt Cousins. are trying to fit into what they're. doing in Atlanta and that type of stuff. and the hope is somewhere sooner rather. than later we start to click we start to. get comfortable and now we can see what. this offense or this player can be uh in. their new situation yeah and Chuck. pagana ran some clips earlier seems like. the defenses have a little bit of some. [ __ ] going on too with this whole show. eight show pressure Dropout who's. getting not being able to figure it out. maybe as quickly as at the end of the.

year they're hoping to so it's good Jou. going on between the two go ahead AJ. yeah oh sorry Kurt go ahead no no no I. was just gonna say you know with that. you know what coach just talking about I. agree and and but the biggest thing is. like third down situations staying out. of tough third down situations where. teams can really throw that stuff at you. because that stuff is Hard Eight guys up. you don't know if they're all coming you. don't know if they're popping out what. coverage they're playing back behind it. and then I would throw out something. else is that I think offenses really.

struggle with the quick hot passing game. when teams are bringing pressure having. quick answers for their quarterback to. be able to say okay you want to bring. eight up I'm going to have something. where it's like boom Ball's out of my. hands now you got eight guys at the line. of scrimmage I just beat you with the. throw and you're rallying to to you know. to make that play on the back end not. enough teams have those answers and so. it's feeding into these defenses being. allowed to do all this crazy stuff. without us being able to counter that.

with the quick throws and trying to. force them out of it what do you know. about offense though what do you know go. ahead. AJ Kurt how long did I guess does it. take obviously when you're sitting there. thinking about your own scheme and hey. what am I supposed to do what's this. receiver going to do you're probably not. taking a whole lot of time to take a. picture of the defense and see exactly. how they're trying to attack you like. when can like how long does it take as a. quarterback how many reps you think or. how I don't know how many years however. it could be to where you feel. comfortable okay I'm I have a pretty. good beat on what these teams are trying.

to do against me at the line of. scrimmage great question because if I'm. thinking more about my offense I. obviously can't think as much about the. defense as I want to think you know if. I'm coming up to the under Center and. I'm still contemplating okay what's he. doing over here okay these guys is over. here and what am I doing versus all the. coverages then all of a sudden the cl. play coocks down to three or four and. I'm going okay what now what they doing. oh snap the ball and I trying to figure. it out so yeah uh I don't know the.

amount of time that it takes but that's. what you have to get to where out here. is second nature I know what we're doing. like the back of my hand I can I can. react and do now all I have to do is. what are they doing oh safety's going. back to cover two great I'm going over. here with the football and those types. of things but yeah you start stacking. all that together and then you add you. know the nuances of these defenses and. the looks they're giving us where it's. not just basic where I can figure it out. in a half a. and now it just continually Stacks up. and it and it you know goes to the. conversation that we had last week that.

I believe because of some of that a lot. of these teams are going to the pure. progression type oh yeah passes so now. the quarterback doesn't have to know. like just okay just drop back and go. look at that guy and see if he's open. and throw it to him and we don't like. that we don't like that don't like you. can't about we I don't know about we I. know about I I I don't like that and you. know and a lot of people a lot of people. are are saying yeah a lot of people are. saying well the game has gotten so.

complex and it's it's interesting. because there in certain situations. there's no doubt about it and there's. Nuance to this with the athletes that we. have now that you know that make some. things harder but if you just go and. watch games you know playto play there. are you know he there's only so many. coverages that you can play and when you. play those coverages you still have to. cover the zones in those coverages like. teams aren't out there you know bringing. all these pressures and then just. leaving half the field wide open like.

they're getting people to those areas to. play the base coverages that we've. always seen in this league and we. primarily see in this league now outside. of those change ups and so it's. recognizing what we need to recognize. it's understanding your play to know I. don't really care what the big picture. coverage is all I need to know is if. we've got two guys over here and they've. only got one I can read that guy and. make a play and so I think sometimes. we're a kind of dumbing it down for.

these quarterbacks like oh they can't. handle all this and B we're not being. able to focus on the small things you. know that that we need to look at you. don't need to know what all 11 guys are. doing and I know we used to always say. that hey you know quarterback good. quarterbacks know what all 11 guys are. doing no we don't we just know can they. cover the guys that we have running. these particular routes because all I. need to worry about is two guys oh do. they have a guy deep and a guy. underneath can they cover this concept I. don't really need to know what all 11.

are doing if I know those little things. that I'm looking at and I think those. are some of the things that are missing. um in the league and again we're trying. to dumb it down and simplify it because. we believe at the end of the day that. will make more guys more. successful I I I just don't necessarily. buy into to that addage well we feel. that way and I want to let you know as a. punter I knew what all 11 guys on the. field yep every single one you did I. knew what everybody's driving I had a. front row seat Bingo yeah he knew what.

everybody was doing too so the coach no. no no no we we knew what everybody's job. was like what they were supposed to do. we just didn't see him you know on the. snap in three seconds I couldn't see. what all 11 guys were doing okay but I. just needed to know that the few that. that were important to me uh I needed to. know what they were doing punting a. little bit more mentally tasking than. quarterbacks that's what I just it it. sounds like it sounds like it I mean. okay that's a big deal I'm pretty pumped. up yeah you what Kurt Warner says it uh.

no I'm joking obviously the um the. quarterback situation that kind of rings. the most true I think with what you just. said being quite a benefit if you know. what the hell is happening is very. apparent in Carolina Ty has a question. for you yeah Kurt after last season and. obviously two weeks through this season. you know a lot of people were basically. saying like hey this Carolina Panthers. team might be the worst football team. ever maybe the worst franchise in sports. and and then all of a sudden Andy Dalton. goes out there throws for 300 yards and. three touchdowns is is it really as.

simple as hey they just they needed a. guy like Andy Dalton to be in there and. now this is this is a team that could go. out there and win several games this. year like what can you really boil it. down to hey they just needed to replace. Bryce young and now Andy Dalton has the. keys and with Dave Canales like they. could actually maybe do something this. year but first I'll say I'm not sure if. anybody saw that coming from Carolina so. you know what you saw from Carolina the. last year in a couple games when Bryce. was the. quarterback no I I didn't see that you.

know I didn't know what they were. capable of offensively because it didn't. look good and they weren't creating big. plays now did I believe that putting. Andy Dalton in there um you know this is. twofold first I've been an advocate of. Andy Dalton and believe he's one of the. 32 best quarterbacks in the world for a. long time and because he doesn't have. the physical. of some of these guys in the league I. think his career has gone a different. route and he's you know found himself as.

a backup when he should be a starter in. this league like he's better than I mean. gosh at least half the quarterbacks that. are starting in in the league right now. he's better than them he he's smart he's. accurate he knows where to go with the. football he makes the layups he gets the. ball out of his hands quickly because of. the things that I'm talking about and. that automatically helps your football. team because if nothing else you're not. taking sacks you're not making negative. plays and so any team that makes you.

know a four yard gain instead of a a. five yard loss is always going to have a. better chance to be a good football team. like Andy played good in that game I. think Andy can play a lot better than he. played in that game and they still put. up a bunch of points and move the. football because they they were on. schedule because of the way that he. plays and the way that he gets the ball. out of his hands and so I don't know. good they can be we're going to have to. see it a couple more weeks and go man. was that just you know new energy and. kind of the perfect storm or are they a.

team that's capable of all this but but. yes it is as simple as when you take a. Young quarterback who's struggling to. see it and get the ball out quickly and. get the ball out on time and you put a. quarterback in there that can do all of. those things yes I do believe it's. automatically going to make your team. better even if you don't necessarily. have great talent right if if you have a. receiver that you know gets separation. at the top of his route but he's not. going to hold that separation better get.

the ball out on time better get to get. it to him you know when he gets open you. do that now we get a big completion. you're late on that now it's a knockdown. it's an interception the defense wins. and so that kind of stuff makes a huge. difference in this day and age well. really any day and age when you when. you've got a quarterback that can do. that did you say Andy Dal was born with. red hair that's why people don't give. him credit is that what you said I I I. did not I don't. think have been thinking you might you. might have heard that in my mind but it.

couple million they're undefeated can. you give them 97,000 because somebody. promised it did the person promis it how. was it all this [ __ ] okay it's currently. happening right now how do you feel. about it and uh what are your kind of. thoughts on it I think we saw a bunch of. players right like Florida State last. year right they don't get into the you. know the playoff and what happened with. all their guys they didn't play uh see. you they didn't they didn't play and I. don't know how you could be in a locker. room with a bunch of teammates that. Brotherhood that's all we ever talk. about right it's having each other's. back it's a Brotherhood it's it but as.

soon as the money's not there soon as we. don't make the playoff oh hell no I. ain't playing I ain't risking my future. on this that hey fine you know what you. signed up for I like JB's take on it. coach JB he had a really good take okay. everything you know that was kind of. being talked about is the 100,000 was a. big part of him going there that is the. reason why he chose that school there. was a couple other schools so like in. his eyes and his family's eyes it seems. like if they were involved in the. decision that 100,000 was definitely. coming yeah and then now it's not and. they're off to a three- 0 start you. could see where they would be like well. we have to take a stand for every. college football that's potential player. that's potentially in this situation and. it's like my Takeaway on all of this is. like we need to figure this [ __ ] out. quick right we need this something this.

salary cap thing that they're thinking. about creating for uh D1 teams any the. amount of money they'll have it's like. 22% of something which is what people. are projecting to be about 20 million. per team then 70% I forget the actual. percentages are going to football and. basketball and then other sport other. money spread out but you can dig in to. the other money to spread it out over. the place but everybody's projecting. about 14 million to $15 million being. able to be used for college football if. that's how it's uh kind of spread out so. then whenever that starts happening at.

least the university is in charge of the. money so at least if it doesn't get paid. you know who yeah you know who you can. go after because now it's the assistant. coach well who's the assistant coach. potentially talking about well he's. talking about a donor he's talking about. a collective he's talking about this. person he's talking about the local. person so there's no real you can't. really get to the just finger point you. can't everything is just whatever so I. think that needs to happen sooner than. later because obviously on quarterback. side um SL uh SLO SL Matthew. SLA.

SLA sluka great name uh he feels like. he's probably taking a stand both for. himself and for a lot of college. football players that are in this. situation are probably too embarrassed. to say that they got Bamboozled okay. which is probably happening at a pretty. rapid rate and then the team if I'm his. teammate I'm like yo come on man three. and0 middle of the Season we're doing. this but I guess you you just think. about the business side now if you're in. college just like the NFL guys do. whenever people hold out. it's a loud scene this is a loud thing. that is potentially the breaking point. for the nil [ __ ] to get settled are. these all handshakes I think so yeah.

this one was it sounds or do they have a. they have contract do you have a. contract you would think the bigger. teams with the bigger collectives um I. assume they have they have a a process. and and probably not like the big deals. most schools got to have contracts right. tone most schools iag does that matter. do some of the schools yeah exactly if. you go back like if you don't fulfill. the contract yet who do you go after. like assistant coach the collective. what's what happened yeah how many. Clauses are in these contracts how many. pages are there yeah and now the UNLV.

Running Back he's also doing the same. thing right he he's taking a red shirt. yeah he had like uh he had like 20 25. carries I think he was like third on the. team and rushing or whatever yeah he's. leaving but a lot it wasn't just them. like and I didn't realize it until. yesterday like oh yeah that makes sense. CU I think it's four games now you give. up your red shirt um so after three. games like barar Alexander from USC. decided he wasn't going to do it other. guys do it he's staying USC though he. said that uh he wasn't playing enough. feels like it's a waste of year with the. amount of playing time that he's. currently having so he's making a. decision it's like that was never the.

case in the P players were never. deciding when they were red shirting it. was kind of happening yeah that was uh. that was kind of so now he practices the. rest of the year like a red shirt and he. just goes and run scout team is that. what he does and then what if Lincoln. Riley says uh what about playing this. yeah how's it how's that work like he's. when most of them will say I'm going to. red shirt and enter the portal whenever. it opens right yeah what if they get an. injury to dline second to last game they. need there's two games left we could. potentially go they've won yeah win the.

big that's a real situation and who UFC. got last week it's a big one uh Notre. Dame Notre Dame yeah Notre Dame could be. a big one could be a big one it's like. what if that happens how's that work. because that would be modern day vers. literally every other time the college. football is existed you know and it's. like there was even conversations back. in the day about oh he blw is red shirt. but we needed them yeah like that just. used to be how it was now it's complete. opposite it's like you know what you. guys blew this year for me I'm taking it. I'm a red shirt I'm taking a red shirt. it's like wow that's all it's it's a.

complete flip it is a complete 180 shout. out to the players I gu having all the. uh the the power and the empowerment but. also there's going to be Ripple effects. of this you know that are uh kind of. that you don't really uh expect or. whatever well that's why like I I assume. that was also a big deal with the. transfer portal why they want to get. because like I feel like that's going to. happen a lot guys are going to transfer. they're going to go somewhere and. they're going to be. a third string guy and then you know. three games in it's just like all right. [ __ ] it I'm not playing I'm going a red. shirt and then I'm going to get out of.

here again and it's just like a never. ending cycle of and then what happens if. you go to a place where if you're. playing D line you got two guys ahead of. you get hurt and it's like hey you're in. line to play meaningful snaps like it it. just that is not a good precedent and I. that really worries me for a lot of. schools yeah how about the education. that is seemingly taking place to these. players too from whoever's representing. them like them knowing like hey got to. make a decision here in about two weeks. now do we think we're getting enough. playing time this year what do we think. you know we take this year off we take a. red shirt get a little stronger faster.

we probably come back next year 150,000. already being available at this place. what do you think you want to sleep on. it you got two weeks got about two weeks. got about two weeks you let me know and. then all right we're we've played three. games now because that could come like. week seven for some of these players. they could their third game could be. week eight week nine week 10 whoever and. then like that's a number that every. player has in their head now like how do. we feel about how this year went what do. we think we're going to extend another. year we're going to do an eight-year. play here it's not the first three weeks. it's three games yeah oh yeah so this is.

going to happen throughout the year yeah. I didn't I do not expect this to be. clear this kind of came out of nowhere. whenever I saw it and I saw another one. and I saw a different school I'm like oh. this is a very new this is a new kind of. utilization of the red shirt where it's. like actually I'm going to play the red. Shir card and it's like we don't want. you to play the red Shir card right here. too bad I haven't sorry about it yeah do. you guys feel like with this money uh. the TV money the 20 million I guess.

Sports yeah so once they decide to divvy. that up you know the dissension that's. going to be within the programs oh every. every College like who they decide in. Title Nine how much do we have to give. to women's sports and then why are these. guys getting that'll be school by school. right CH will that be school by school. deciding who get what. I would like one governing bot like herb. whoever that guy who's that guy that's. going to be the commissioner of the NCAA. so right Charlie Baker so right now it's.

Charlie Baker As so to me if I'm at a. university I'm GNA want Charlie Baker or. some outside and say okay you guys. decide with you guys decide for us so. that we say like they come to us hey. look this is how they divid it up yeah. we got no so I don't know if that's the. case because I um I think I heard some. people when I was in Michigan thinking. about talking about how they have so. much appreciation for all the Olympic. sports so like obviously the Olympic. they had a field hockey Stadium they. built over there it was awesome and.

they're like so that money is definitely. going to get spread to a lot of sports. schools that have a lot of programs. obviously they're going to have to divy. that up more and nil's still going to be. able to exist so then if nil still. exists outside you think the Michigan. donors are going to let the football. team be at a four or5 million. disadvantage to the Ohio State who I'm. not saying Ohio State's going to do the. same thing but it's like then the. collectives still do their thing I don't. know how but also is that stupid not to. is that 22% or 20 million on top of cuz. I know when um Oregon and Washington all.

those schools went to the Big 10 the the. cut of the TV money like the big 10. teams are going to be getting $70. million a year no so this is a blended. total hold on hold on I have the actual. $20 million is the projected number for. everybody so that is like but the B. still going to get their TV money yes. for them personally but the salary cap. money is going to be the exact it's a. blended thing of like merch tickets TV. and something and it's one price for.

everybody that's D1 there are tiers. though I think where there's something. else so that is kind of how it is being. projected so it's not like Texas is. going to make a [ __ ] ton more money 22%. of their revenue is what their salary. cap is it is one for everybody the nio. still yeah there every time you bring it. up there just ends up being more. questions than answers well that's what. like the harsh reality is like with the. nil stuff like I worked uh at Iowa for. like the you know where you call former. alumni and and it's about you know just. giving back to the general scholarship.

fund or whatever like most of these. people who have big money like they want. to donate it to the football team and so. if like you end up telling them like hey. okay well you were going to donate $10. million to the football team but we're. actually going to take 7 A5 million of. that and we're going to give it to the. rowing team so they can get a new. facility like those people are going to. pull like that's that's not how it works. yeah donor people will be for the nil. the school will be in charge of picking. where uh the 20 million goes and that my. friends is where it gets messy to a.

the Broncos and in his first year he. said Johnny you know I'm I'm keeping a. lot of the scouts but I don't know them. I love the way you think about football. could you watch the safeties this year. and write some reports and so I did that. for him remember it was the year of like. Mark Baron and Harrison Smith and I took. a lot of pride in I had no idea how. Scouts did things but I just watched it. like I would watch film and I sat there. at the computer and wrote some reports. and laway was blown away with like the. detail if I'm going to do something I'm. going to do it right the next year he. says that was awesome Johnny why don't. you do the DBS so I did the entire DBS I.

together a vision statement for how I. would run a team and so I spent a couple. weeks doing that I met with him and from. that point forward I kind of just said. if the right scenario ever came about. this might be something I want to do I. was missing like competition I was. missing scoreboard I was missing the. wins the losses all of that out of. nowhere something was keeping me up at. night one year I didn't even know what. it was and my wife said something's on. your mind I know you when you're when. you're acting like this you can't sleep. and I had done a bunch of Falcon games. that year and Kyle Shanahan was the. offensive coordinator it's the year they.

went to the Super Bowl against the. Patriots and I heard something like Kyle. Shanahan's going to get this Niners job. and that's the one he wants but somebody. said he's struggling to find a GM he. wants to work with and so something was. on my mind I had done a bunch of Kyle's. gam that year and I gave him a cold call. and I just said hey dude I want to thank. you for all the time you've given me all. year in these production meetings I. heard something that you're struggling. to find a GM and he goes I am man it's. killing me I think I am going to take. that Niners job and he goes why are you. asking I said well consider me I don't. even know if i' do it but just think.

about that and see what you think and. his first question he's like dude why. would you do that you got a great job. you got a great life like why would you. even consider doing that I said you go. play your games he did he called back. and he said man I can't stop thinking. about what you said to me would you do. that and uh I want you to come meet this. dude named Jed well that dude named Jed. was our owner here Jed York came and met. to talk to you about it as a whole is. this one of those ones that is speeding. up they're talking about this being like. a very powerful maybe potentially. historic is that accurate or yeah it's. going to be it's going to be it's it's. on its way to becoming a major hurricane. it's only five you know five miles from. there now it's 10 so it's a we call a. high-end catto and it's going to be the. worst hurricane to ever hit Tallahassee. and that's why we're here we're going to. we're going to take this one on the chin. way too unsafe to be anywhere down on. the water the water's already coming up. too by the way and the the storm's still. probably about four or five hours uh.

from from landfall so I mean it's just. it's just crazy how big this thing is. and then it's going to get slingshot up. into Atlanta so it's going to impact. Atlanta big time so we're going to have. power outages path from Tallahassee up. through Basta right right up by 75 all. the way to the Tennessee line and how. can you tell what this particular one. that's going to go like this because. because in years past whenever we've had. you on the program it's because of the. big ones and you've kind of explained. things that sometimes they slow down you. know sometimes they slow down because. there's a lot of sports implications. here and obviously we want everybody to.

be safe whenever we're talking this is. very serious we want to talk about. humans nothing but positive vibes to. everybody as you have to go through this. massive storm but there's a lot of. sports with some big implications this. weekend how do you know that this one's. going to continue or slow. down no it's it's it's going to get. caught up in the pattern pretty quick. and get slungshot all the way up through. Georgia and what does that mean what. does that mean do that mean because. there's like a yeah it just gets. absorbed into the main flow so here this. thing is just kind of finding a nice. home between um a ridge and a trough and.

then all of a sudden the F the farther. it goes north the more it gets under the. influence of the mid latitudes so the. mid- latitude steering really just takes. it rips it apart but also kind of SW I. mean this upper low is going to swallow. it and and it's going to rain itself out. over uh Tennessee and North Carolina and. Kentucky how about. Alabama uh I I I think we're good I I. think it's going to be far enough North. so we're not going to see that G I mean. it's going to be maybe a little Breezy. maybe some 15 to 20 mph winds so that I. mean that's certainly play a little bit. of a role but um you know it'd be.

interesting if Georgia was home and the. storm went a little bit farther east. they're talking about having a travel. they're talking about having to travel. maybe get out early when when's this. going to taper off is it going to be. into Friday type situation for the South. or well no Friday's the bad day Friday. nobody's going into Atlanta uh you know. Eddie per Perez last night FaceTiming he. goes canor he just looks at me he goes. um we're coming to do the Braves game. this weekend he looks at me and and I. said you know and he goes yeah I figured. so you know no way they're coming in.

Friday they actually canceled all the. games until Monday um for the Braves. which means they're expecting a hell of. a hit in Atlanta and we're going to have. tree damage up there we're going to have. power lines down um that's the problem. when you take an accelerating. intensifying hurricane and then you. accelerate it toward landfall it has a. long time before it winds down yeah so. comes in as this monster and then stays. strong um for quite a few miles Inland. that's the problem Atlanta is right in. the Wheelhouse of that thing okay so are. we at the end of this hurricane season.

or are we in the middle of it where are. we right now with stor no I mean we're. we're only in early October and. hurricane season Atlantic goes to the. end of November and you know a lot of. these projections early on for a busy. season over the Basin a number of storms. we pretty high everyone's like where are. all my storms where are all my storms. that may not come to fruition but okay. this be our fourth hurricane landfall. that's a busy season and obviously a. historic one with a major hurricane. coming in and causing a lot of damage I. mean Tallahassee lot of trees here.

Atlanta a lot of trees there and both of. these areas and every area in between is. going to get hammered they may even have. to close down I75 not to mention the. flooding over Western North Carolina. okay so on that note tone has a question. for you Kori yeah Jim I wanted to ask. you about the storm surge because that's. what's kind of trending on Twitter and. what's getting the big reactions on. Twitter because they're talking about up. to potentially 20 foot stor Storm surges. and I know I've seen pictures of that. being just horrible is that is that what. they're actually expecting what's the. storm surge I believe in the Florida.

Bend they're calling it that is a great. graphic right there so you know think. about 10 stories is usually everybody's. first floor if you look at that right um. we're talking about getting up into the. second floor and a lot of times they say. well if you're not going to evacuate uh. make sure you bring an axe with you so. you can chop your way out of the roof. and that's what that's the kind of. situation in Steen Hatchy in Horseshoe. Beach uh Katon Beach that you know maybe. even Cedar Key we were in Cedar Key last. year for Adalia we had 7.2 that was a.

record we've never had that ever in. Cedar Key and guess what we made double. that in Cedar Key this year okay we hope. everybody's safe and as you were saying. if you're not going to leave and you're. just going to go up in your house at. least take and hacks Chuck pag who lived. out of Miami was literally making the. the hand she go out through the roof. there how can you predict what the storm. surge is going be how is they have they. have models that do that um the. Hurricane Center has models that do that. they put in the size of the hurricane. the intensity of the hurricane the angle. of approach how much Beth themetry is on.

the water in other words is it shallow. is it deep water things like that all. these things go into that equation and. they are able to predict these Storm. surges and I mean this is this is going. to be a historic surge uh we we know. that and that's why you're seeing 15 to. 20 feet that's that's unprecedented for. the Big Bend of Florida go ahead AJ Mr. canor so from let's say 30 years ago. till now I guess how how has technology. changes do we just know much earlier do.

we can we predict and get people out. like how has it changed from when you. got in the game till now with what. technology and how it can help us be. safer I mean the model guidance in terms. of where these things are going has. gotten so good I mean you see how thin. that cone is now it's gotten a lot. thinner over time because the track. errors have been reduced so you don't. see this big fat wide like we used to. have but it's just better technology. better computer models better. mathematics and modeling and faster. computers frankly that's really the key. to a lot of this modeling did you watch.

Twisters I did what you think I was I. was I was like all right I I dig the. love story that's really sweet but I. want to see some more Twisters brother. amen yeah I me thank you thank you. that's the name of Oklahoma is uh hail I. think there's hail coming down right now. there's some bad storm like they're. saying big hail and then uh yeah so. that's that's back there where the upper. low is so that's the same piece that's. going to steer or as I said earlier. sling shot this thing into the.

southeastern United States oh so we got. a tornado running into or an old tornado. an old grizzled tornado done that. running into a hurricane hurricane Helen. and then that is the that is the tag. team that is really causing the problem. all the way up to Atlanta that's what. you're saying one system is producing. tornado tadoes the hurricane is a. tropical entity but believe it or not. they are going to interact not the. tornado and the hurricane but the system. that's helping to produce the tornado. Jim why don't you go put your hands up. make sure they don't connect to each.
