The Pat McAfee Show Live | Thursday October 8th 2026
Yeah, we are. wow.
For real? >> Oh no. Let's go.
[ __ ]. state of. today.
running. >> You got. >> in Berkeley, California. >> You got it. You did it. Yeah.
This one's for three. AJ Hawk. $5,000. HEY, HEY, HEY.
You make me watch my hands up. My hands. up all again now.
USA. USA, USA, USA.
Come on in. Oh my god. A. up. A a.
The following program is a collection of. students talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic, informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss, or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans in the real. world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further. >> Hey,
let's go. This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful. >> Makabe on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers. You. >> start damn it. >> Be a friend. Tell a friend something. nice could change their life. >> Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to. our humble abode. The draft kings.
thundered up on this NFL week five. kickoff Thursday, October 8, 2026. The. sports program begins now. >> FOOTBALL IS THE GREATEST. AND joining us. today is a man who is coached football. for 37 years, 19 in the pros, 18 in. college, our coach, ladies and. gentlemen, Chuck Pagano. >> Good to see you, Coach Pagano. Also the. talks of tables here at Boston Connor. and at Ty Schmidt. Ty, how you doing, pal? >> Doing pretty darn good. you know, week.
five already. Crazy. Baseball season's. over, unfortunately. So, now it's just. it's we're we're full bore into football. season, which is the way it should be. >> Listen, mathematists aren't happy with. AI right now, okay? Cuz AI is solving uh. centuries long math equations that are. wonders of the world that these. mathematists were trying to get to the. bottom of, then AI figures it out. So, we'd like to let the mathematist know we. still feel as if they are an important. part of society. On that note, mathematist Connor, what's the. percentage of the season that we're. about to be through here with week five. kicking off already?
>> Yeah, we are already 23 and a half%. through the season. After this weekend, after Monday Night Football, we will be. over 29% through the season. So, take it. in, soak it in. It's it's a rare thing. to have a great season like this. See, the English are going to get upset about. me saying mathematist instead of. mathematician, but I know that they're. both scientists and mathematists coming. together for the mathematician world, and we love them. And we appreciate. whenever math comes in, reminds us that. we need to enjoy every single one of. these. Let's go to one half OF THE. HAMMER BACK. Cowboys AP tone tonight. 8. 12 point spread at home. Cowboys favored.
with the Bucks coming to town. How do. you feel about it? Why do you think it's. so many points? Is this Bucks team dead? Is that what they're saying about. >> Well, yeah. the the 0 and4 Bucks uh. public perception is that they are very. very much dead. That that kind of goes. into the line as well. The Cowboys. coming off a off a huge last second. couple wins um that they've seen there. against the Houston Texans that everyone. saw. So public perception is on the. Cowboys. You got Jaylen Daniels, a. rookie undrafted free agent quarterback. This is all going into the line tonight.
uh baked into there. And also the Bucks. haven't covered 13 straight games. So. that's also bug also 13 straight dating. back to last season that they have not. covered the spread. Oh. Oh, for the last. So, that's. possession, >> man. Somebody found that out early. Somebody was in there like the second. week this was happening. It's like, you. know what? I'm just betting against the. Bucks. I'm just betting against the. Bucks. And they've been living quite a. little high life. And this has been a. guarantee. A matter of fact, the.
Buccaneers, we thought potentially had. positive energy coming into the season. Yeah. Because they got deals done with. Vita, they got deal done with Baker. Mayfield. Even though both of those felt. like they were in the rear view and. they're going to have to move on. It was. going to be a rebuilding process in. Buccaneer world. instead they just don't. play good football. Then Bait gets hurt. Now you got a rookie Jaylen Daniels. coming in. He can run. Oh yeah, >> he can run his ass off. We've seen him. in college obviously for a lot of good. football. Now he's with the Bucks. getting an opportunity against the Green. Bay Packers. Had it close. Could have. made a couple big plays down the stretch. and win that game for them. Maybe he has.
a big night against a Cowboys defense. that hasn't been necessarily fantastic. But we are hoping that he runs good, aren't we, Tony? We are hoping that. Jaylen will run his ass off, which is. certainly possible. We do believe he. could throw the ball. He is a potential. NFL quarterback long term, but with his. legs, he's really a weapon. And we think. he'll get scrambled, pushed out maybe by. the Cowboys defense, trying to make some. plays and he'll be able to run. Then we. also think CD Lamb is going to continue. to eat after his record setting. performance last weekend. Our super. boost tonight by land Jaylen Daniels air.
and sea combined CD Lamb. We are going. to be promote boosting CD Lamb 60 plus. receiving yards tonight. Jaylen Daniels. 40 plus rushing yards. It'll be boosted. to plus 150. Shout to DraftKings making. that happen. Lot going on in the. DraftKings world right now and in the. predictive marketing world it does feel. like. But for tonight, we will be. boosting this to one plus 150. I don't. know when it goes live. Does it go live. immediately? Is it live at five? Do we. know when it is live? >> It's it's been live at five a couple. times. Uh it's been live immediately a.
few times. So we're I believe someone. will let us know at some point. >> Okay. And end the show it'll be live. >> Great news. That's a good heads up. And. if you agree to gamble responsibly and. you agree that you are of age and you. agree that you will not be putting uh. your entire life savings into any of. these bets, we'd love for you to come. and join us on DraftKings, the best. sports book on earth. >> Undefeated on Thursdays. >> I don't think so. >> Tone 1 and0 in the last week. >> Yeah, certainly one and0 in the last. week. We could do that. My college.
football pick Saturday morning off of. game day. Those go up as a pick on. DraftKings as well. Haven't hit one of. those. Been close. So, I think that is. technically our last one. >> I think you hit the first week. >> We hit the over with the points points. points. >> Yeah, you hit you hit the first week. >> Okay. So, maybe we aren't as terrible as. it feels sometimes. >> Minnesota. Yeah, that that that points. points points. We had three overs. That. one hit. >> Georgia Tech, Tennessee. That was the. one that brought it home at night. Yes. >> Yeah, I do remember us hitting one of. those. But, nonetheless, would love to. hit this one tonight by land, air, and.
clay. Thank you, boys. Uh we appreciate that. If you agree not to be an [ __ ] we'd. love for you to join us. Now, back to. coach Pagano. Coach, tonight's game, Cowboys, Bucks. Bucks seemingly a. wounded animal coming into a lit Cowboys. atmosphere down there in Texas. What are. your thoughts on how this game goes? And. if you were coaching both teams, what. your messaging would be? >> Uh, need a win if you're Todd Bulls and. you're Tampa Bay Bucks. You're without. your quarterback. Also, their energy. bunny on defense. Uh, Winfield Jr.
Anton, he's not playing tonight. uh he. runs that secondary. Um this this thing. smells like. poop. If you if you don't go into like. look at the stats and a lot of the. numbers, things like that, you got a. rookie quarterback in Jaylen Daniels, >> fresh out of Kansas, right? He can run. He made bunch of huge plays against. Green Bay. Really kept him in the game. This is one, you know, that he got. outside the pocket and hit gain well for. a touchdown. The guy's an athlete. if uh.
if Dallas is not disciplined in the rush. lanes, he's going to run around and make. some plays and and possibly make this. interesting, more interesting than. anybody thinks. >> And so you think that the Bucks have a. chance, especially with Todd Bulls back. against the wall, seemingly 0 for13. against the spread their last 13 games. That's absurd. So not only is it not a. fun watch, it's also a watch where a lot. of people are losing alongside of it. And then for the Cowboys, your thoughts. on them? >> Yeah, uh offense scoring bunches, right? They if they don't put up 31 tonight,
it'll be uh it'll be a miracle. Um. they've scored on everybody. They scored. 34 on a really good Houston defense. 28. in the second half alone. >> Yeah. >> You know, and that's maybe why things, you know, happened down at Houston the. way they did. But, um I got to feel like. Christian Parker and that defense, you. got a rookie quarterback on the road, first time in a hostile environment. Communication is going to be critical. Load the box. do everything that you. can, right, to stop this this run game. because I think Todd Bulls and the and.
the and the game plan for them is take. the air out of it, load the box, play. tight coverage, and make this guy beat. you from the well. >> All right, tonight, Thursday Night. Football on Prime, Kirk Herbstreet will. be joining us here in just a few moments. to chitchat about what he expects out of. tonight's game, especially because he. gets a chance to chat with people behind. the scenes. >> That's right. >> He gets the message. You know, that. Buccaneers play is probably pretty. disappointed. Oh, yeah. >> And then with the Cowboys, huge win over. the Texans, but there's a lot to fix. which team can maybe uh propel. themselves to a different conversation. and who's going to go into the shite.
division which we will roll out today as. well. Uh it is time ladies and gentlemen. to make a massive announcement. >> this weekend. College Game Day heads to. Tuscaloosa Alabama. Roll Todd roll. Nick. Sabin's Dock premieres tonight at 6 PM. Eastern on ESPN. The first episode will. be shown on the ESPN app. All six. episodes will be available. Huge. showcase of Alabama and everything that. happened down there.
>> George is coming to town undefeated. Kirby Smart, former Nick Sabin disciple. coming in at the same exact time. College Game Day should be electrifying. whether the weather makes. >> it tough to get to or not. >> Who will be the celebrity guest picker. though? Oh, >> Alabama has a litany of people who are. certainly notable. >> But with the notility of most of these. people, football season's tough to make. happen. >> Certainly, >> especially for the celebrity guest.
picker college game day. character. Well, the NFL scheduling gods. matched up with the college football. gods. >> Oh. >> And they came together to say, "Hey, you. know who the celebrity guest picker for. College Game Day is going to be? >> WHO? >> BRYCE YOUNG. CAROLINA PANTHERS. BRYCE, WE HAVEN'T. TALKED TO you in forever. Good to see. you, man. >> Always always great to see you guys. >> Uh we are so thankful that you're able. to be the guest picker because a lot of. the Alabama notable people are football.
players through the incredible run that. Alabama football has had since, you. know, Sabin took over down there. So, you having a by-week being able to get. back for this important weekend. We are. so thankful. Uh being a guest picker is. a lot of pressure though, a lot of. stress. How do you feel going into. Saturday? >> I'm excited. Um I'm trying to do my. research, figure stuff out, but it's. always fun uh to watch. So, be able to. be a part of it is definitely a. blessing. >> Okay. Tuscaloosa should be absolutely. electrifying. The Sabbin documentary.
premiering as well. Should this be a big. celebration of Alabama? Is that what we. should be expecting no matter what the. weather is? >> Yeah, for sure. Um you know, that place. is special. It's always going to be a. great great environment, great. atmosphere. Um yeah, being able to play. in it was fun. and now get to be able to. be able to go back and watch it from the. outside. Uh yeah, I'm super excited for. it. >> Bryce, we appreciate you making time, especially on your by-week. I know it. looks like you're in the building right. now still working. It's by week. The. answers you gave to us the other day. made us think you're a 90-year-old man. in between the years. So, we appreciate.
you making this happen and we'll see you. down in Tuscaloosa. >> Yeah, for sure. Of course. See you guys. soon. >> Hey, Bryce, quick though. Can you tell. the Alabama students and the Alabama. people that were potentially thinking. about coming to game day on Saturday. that we're going to be inside the. Coleman Coliseum? The basketball arena. is where the show will be because the. massive storm that'll be coming through. Tuscaloosa. I think it's going to hit in. the morning. So instead of moving people. from outside to inside, we're going to. be live from the basketball arena. Bryce, if you could tell everybody we're. going to be in there so we don't have an.
empty arena on Saturday morning. >> For sure. Everyone call me. Y'all will. be there. Uh yeah, I'll be there. We're. going to be there. Um, that's cool to. hear. It'll be fun. >> Thank you for that, Bryce. You're an. absolute legend, ladies and gentlemen. That's national champion Heisman Bryce. Y. >> Shout out to Bryce joining us on. Saturday and the other day. He is a guy. I'm happy his career is going the way. it's going because there for a bit. everybody wondered if he could be an NFL. quarterback. Are the Carolina Panthers. going to be a good enough franchise to. maintain a franchise quarterback?
Because when there's a lot of turnover, there's usually not a lot of loyalty to. people. So you can kind of get moved on. quickly. Instead, him and Canales have. found a way to get the best out of him. And he is slicing and dicing. And that. wide receiver, T-Mac, he might be up for. offensive player of the year with the. amount of yards and catches he has. And. then Dan Morgan, freak show linebacker. back in the day, GM of the Carolina. Panthers. Let's assume the defensive. side of the ball is going to be good for. a while. I'm happy Bryce Young's coming. back to Tuscaloosa. Now, we talked about. going into Coleman Coliseum because of.
the weather. >> Joining us now is the weather. Okay, >> man. >> Oh, okay. >> Ladies and gentlemen, from Weather. Channel, Jim Canour. >> Hey, what's going on, guys? Good to see. you. >> Hey, Jim. Great to see you. Thank you. for joining us. Obviously, uh weather. anytime we talk to you is going to be. impacting sports this weekend. It feels. like Tuscaloosa is right in the path of. this potential storm. And uh huge game, Georgia, Alabama, College Game Day is. going to be there in the morning. What. should we expect out of this particular. path that you're seeing, Jim? Well,
first of all, you you got to check with. Sabin for any forecast. It's true. Because if he wasn't a football coach. and and a broadcaster now, he would have. been a meteorologist. I'm telling you. right now, the guy's absolutely nuts. about weather. He'd have the team. practicing with wet balls. >> However, this is what I'll say to you. It looks like your show is the one. that's going to be impacted. The game, we should have most of the stuff ended. But in all seriousness, you guys. probably have a small but not zero.
tornado threat. Okay. So, you may be. using that coliseum as a as a storm. shelter. >> Okay. So, the decision to go into the. Coleman Coliseum at this point feels. like the right decision is what I just. heard. >> 100%. >> Okay. >> 100%. >> All right. Shout out Matt Garrett. Red. had to make that decision. Red red had to make that decision. because you know college game day. football always in a location where. everybody could come celebrate outside. It has gone through rain before. There. has been different weather. This. particular Doppler looked a bit scary.
and they wanted to make the decision. here a couple days ahead of time. The. decision to go to Coliseum is good. So. once this hits land, it's going to. continue. It's just earlier in the day. than expected. >> Yeah, it's going to it's going to speed. up. It's going to weaken. You can see. the cone going right over uh you guys. Right. So that's the track cone. That's. where it's going. But the impacts extend. well outside that cone. And what I'm. worried about is there's a little. leftover spin with that. So, you know, it puts you in a little bit of a tornado. risk there in Tuscaloosa. So, like I. said, that coliseum may be uh maybe. doubling up as a storm shelter. But.
here's the deal, dude. If you're I if if. there's not a tornado warning, I want. you out in it. Thank you. >> I want to see your best broadcast in the. schmutz. >> Yeah. I'll be in the schmootz. I'm Jim. >> Who else is with me on that? >> Yeah. I want to be out there. I've been. watching you for years out there. We've. been learning about what life is like. out in these uh conditions because of. you. So, I would definitely like to do. that. Let's pivot away from me in uh non. tornado weather, but certainly bad. weather in Tuscaloosa coming through. during college game day in the morning.
And let's talk about the ripple effect. of this particular storm or any other. storms that are happening across ball. all of Saturday and Sunday. Should we. expect there to be a lot of weather this. weekend? >> Okay, here's what I got for you. South. Carolina, Gainesville, uh 12:45. There. could be a shower there. I'm a little. bit more worried about Old Miss Vandy in. Nashville on Saturday because all of. that's coming up from Alabama. Okay. All. that's coming north. Um LSU Kentucky. Saturday night. It's still coming north. So, I mean, the timing on this stuff is.
bringing it all north toward you. Then. on Sunday, we still got some rain around. Tennessee, Pittsburgh, DC. We won't. have, you know, showers, thunderstorms, but there could be wind in play. It. could be wet. Uh, I'm not worried about. severe weather though as we get towards. Sunday. It should be pretty evened out. by then. >> All right, Jim. >> Saturday's the big day and you're right. in the meat of it, bro. >> All right, we'll try to stay safe. I. will think of everything you have taught. us throughout the years. Uh, you are the. man. We'll talk to you soon. >> You got it, brother. Anytime. Take care, guys. >> Paison, Jim Kour.
>> Yeah, actually the game's going to be. just fine. Should be out of there. You. know, they'll cover the field, too. So, the field will be dry. >> 9on Eastern, though. should be a perfect. but right where you guys are that that. does feel like a uh tough set of. circumstances. The decision to move into. Coleman Coliseum was made and there was. a lot of discussion about it. I mean. don't we think we should be out there. with the people like this is what. football is. It's not an indoor sport. It's uh we're out there with they're. going to be tailgating out there at the.
time. Response is like nobody's going to. be out there tailgating during this. Nobody's at this time. Nobody's going to. be out there tailgating. like, "Well, can't we just see if it's going to be. bad?" Well, then we'd have to pick up. and move inside during the show. We. already did that at LSU. We We don't. That right, that was worst case. scenario. We don't like that at all cuz. now people are outside. You guys are. inside. Everybody talked about feeling. terrible about that situation. So, maybe. we just move it inside because we're. expecting it to be bad. Come on. We. never All right, we're doing it. All. right. Sweet. Let's Let's dive in. It. looks awesome. >> Oh, yeah. >> It's a huge the side uh on the side of.
the court. It goes up in a in a big tall. way right up that backside there. Uh. because that's the side because in my. head we'd want to go towards the. basketball court over there because it's. a little tighter area. Doesn't go up. nearly as high as the sides. The sides. go way up. >> I think there's a lot of opportunity for. seats up there. So we would love for. people to come hang out with us at. Coleman Coliseum to celebrate the hell. out of ball coach Sabin and everything. going on. >> It sounds like if we have a nonzero. tornado threat that that might be the.
only place to house people. I mean, you. guys might be, you might need to bring. the fire marshal in, you know, because. there might be 10,000 12,000 more people. than the arena can even hold that they. got to figure out, hey, where are we. going to put these people? It's going to. be a mad house in there Saturday. Partly. because the weather and partly because. the game. >> I hope so. You know, I I certainly hope. so. Going into a basketball arena, I. think it's going to add some different. awesome elements. I think the chance are. going to be obviously insane. I think we. are planning on doing every part of the. show in there. Hell yeah.
>> So, field goal kick in there. >> Oh, good. The kids got to kick it into. the hoop. Maybe they won't make it this. week. >> I don't know if we're just going to make. them put it in a hoop. I think they're. thinking about putting the uprights in. there cuz how big the building is. But. yeah, maybe it is like you got to make. it directly into the. >> Who does the Is it Jay Will that does. the half court. >> half court shot just like it's nothing? He makes a bunch of them. I assume I'll. be hucking basketball shots in there. >> Could expand tickets to everyone who. shows up for or raffle tickets for the. kick just to fill that place up a little. bit. worked out last week. I'll handle.
the raft. >> See, that's what people are saying. though, coach, that we can't because. people don't have actual brains, so they. don't know that you're joking right. there. So, you know, there was a lot of. look who they picked. And it was like, well, it's actually a raffle. Oh, okay. And I'm like, excuse me. We cannot be. pedalling what. >> Charles Pagano raffle looks like. whenever he's growing up at the Italian. club back in the day. But on that note, I appreciate Finley saying, "I can kick. it." Yeah. >> Down there in Iowa. I appreciate her. saying I could do it because there is. something that if you're physically.
unable to kick, you can pick somebody. else, but it has to be done within like. the first minute. You already have a. think of the idea of who you're going to. have. And her saying, "I can kick it.". Yeah, I can definitely do it and I want. to do it. It' be a fun experience. I. appreciate her doing that. Getting back. to Alabama, >> that storm sounds like it's going to be. a pretty real deal there, huh? Sounds. like we got something pretty heavy. coming in the morning. Happy the game's. not going to be affected. These two. battling it out this early in the. season, I think, is great for both. sides. And uh we're going to learn a lot. here about Keelin. Kelan Russell, the. quarterback for Alabama, they're talking. about him being like the one. Yeah. Going forward, highest rated recruit in.
the history of Bama. I think that is. worthy of being said multiple times. because every name that you just thought. of Alabama, this kid coming out of high. school was somehow rated higher. Derrick. Henry, we seen his high school footage. He ran over all 10 people, all 11 people. on the other side of the field every. play. He had 7,000 touchdowns. I forget. what it was. Some absurd number. This. guy rated higher than him coming into. Alabama. He has the upside, I guess, of. like literally greatest quarterback of. all time. Has the demeanor of a mature.
quarterback and has the athleticism to. run by you? It's it's a special thing. The board is building around him. Now, can they win the big one? That is all. anybody cares about in Alabama post. Sabin. If he gets a win over Georgia. with this Georgia Bulldog team, I think. that does numbers for Kaylin Debor down. there in Tuscaloosa. Fun fact, the. highest rated uh recruit before Kaylin. Russell was Bryce Young. Um and he won a. Heisman. So that's, you know, that'll be. something to follow up there. But no, this is awesome. I think like the the.
Alabama offense, which is just obscur. absurd, scoring 50 points basically. every single game going against that. Georgia defense that has now grown up. together under Kirby in that system. Like that is going to be an unbelievable. matchup to watch on Saturday. >> And how about Kaylin Dbor? Like we spent. the first couple years talking like, "Hey, when are they going to turn on. Kaylin Dbor? when is it going to finally. happen? And he's been to the playoff. obviously Tai Simpson last year and they. went to the Rose Bowl and everything and. lost. But just the ability to get a. player like Keelin Russell I feel like. is massive from Kayn Debor because it.
really was like hey this isn't going to. work out. He's following Nick Sabin who. is the most loved person in the history. of Alabama. There's no way he can live. up to that expectation and it's still. there. They still have to go and you. know make a national championship, win a. national championship. But his ability. just to get players like Keelin Russell. is already kind of like a separating. factor for at least people in Alabama to. be like, "Okay, like we can give this. guy a little bit of a break cuz it was. loud for a little bit there.". >> They were worried they weren't still. going to be Bama. Yes. >> They were worried that it was going to.
turn into just another middle of the. road SEC team, which they had been. before Sabin gets there. So Sabin. obviously hands the keys over to Caitlin. Dbor and there was a mass exodus. Caleb. DS all their stars out of there. Can. Kalin save it? And then can Kalin. continue it? Especially with all the. noise. Feels like he's been able to do. it. Kein Russell is the guy. >> I think he has had a top three. recruiting class every single time that. every single year that he's been there, too. So, he's he's still getting the. guys in there. >> And he's proven that he can win. >> everywhere. He's got the same record,
right, after 23 games. >> uh with Coach S? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Exact same. And can you imagine. following Coach Sin being that guy? There's not many people that would sign. up to do that. So, kudos to him for. signing up. And then we're and what this. kid's done from week one till now, like. watching him week one compared to this. last week and what the improvement he's. made. Unbelievable. >> I think he's comfortable in the pocket. as well. He can spin it. He could run. it. Ryan Coleman Williams starting to. catch ball again. That's great news for. everybody. Uh happy for Alabama. But.
Kirby, who will be joining us here in uh. 50 minutes or so, >> has a team that I don't even know if he. knows how good they can be because of. the level of talent that they've played. against. They were running one-on- ones. on the sideline during commercial breaks. of their games because they didn't think. they were getting enough work. Excited. to catch up with him. Joining us now is. the man who kicks off the NFL weekend. He's the face of college game day and. college football prime time on ESPN and. ABC. Absolute living legend, former. president of Ohio, Kirk Herbstreet.
>> Herby, >> what's up fellas? How you doing? >> I'm great. How are you? who just. announced Bryce Young, guest picker live. from Coleman Coliseum down there in. Tuscaloosa. We talked about you and I. have talked about this off air, but a. lot of the notable names out of Alabama. um are football players and for guest. picker for game day, this is during. football season. Hard to get guys in. time. Alabama has seemingly been tough. to kind of get guest picker into. Tuscaloosa on day of. So, getting Bryce.
with his by-week gigantic for the. weekend, especially with the Coleman. Coliseum thing, Herby. >> Yeah. Yeah. With uh with the with the. with the winds and the rain. Um they've. made that announcement. You've I'm sure. made that announcement to confirm. We're. going to welcome everybody to come out. to Coleman Coliseum and make it a a wild. atmosphere inside. But it's cool that. that uh we'll be there with Coach Sabin. back home. We're going to have a nice. dinner there on on Friday evening with.
with the Savings. Looking forward to. that. And for Bryce Young, as you guys. know, he's kind of settled in very. nicely with Dave Canales and seems to. really have a feel right now, right in. the m thick of things right now in the. in the NFC South and has a chance to to. get to the postseason again. Remember, they gave the Rams all they could handle. last year in the postseason. So, he is. really settled in, I think, with an. offensive coordinator that knows how to. take advantage of his his abilities. also think just the reps that he's. received like any quarterback and of. course they've gotten so much better. around him from where he was early in.
his career. So yeah, man, that that is a. as we say buying stocks. That's a stock. to buy right now and it'll be great to. catch up with him. One of the class acts. uh that's ever played at Alabama. Can't. wait to see him. >> Huge for us to get him as the guest. picker. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I I think that is something that. doesn't get talked about enough is the. panic process of trying to get a guest. picker into a city that isn't. necessarily the easiest to get to. While. a lot of people are gigging, they got. their gigs or working. It's huge for us.
that Bryce Young is able to do this. I I. I don't think that can get stressed. enough, Herby, about the. behind-the-scenes process of trying to. get a celebrity guest picker. >> Yeah. and and you deserve a a major. kudos as well for getting your uh your. phone out and trying to help us get some. of these folks because you know every. week it's it's a challenge as you said. I know you're right in the middle of. that. um trying to help out the best he. can and you know like Caitlyn Clark last. week it didn't look like it was going to. happen that it might happen and then. again not to get into too many details.
with what you were able to to try to. help with but it's uh it's a fascinating. effort behind the scenes and then you. know it's it's when it works out it's. awesome on Saturday to be able to have. somebody to uh to talk ball with and. they they seem so far this year they all. seem to have a great time doing it and. um Bryce will fit him perfectly you know. kind of a softspoken guy. This whole. thing I've never you know I one time. one time I think we moved inside for the.
entire. >> Can I Can I say that Herby Herby was a. big Come on. We're a football show. You. were a big It's going to rain a little. bit. It's a football show. Like what. what Herby was big on that. He wasn't. the only one but Herby was was a big. What are we doing here? This is. football. We are, we do the elements. That's why we have the best crew in the. business. They're able to build the set. Herby was very much like that with the. move. Actually, though, I'd like it to. be known. >> I I just I think we've had too many.
lightning delays when we look up above. and it's blue skies this year. So, I'm a. little bit gunshy when it comes to uh. postponing games. And I as soon as I saw. that that tropical storm and 100 mph. winds hitting Mobile, Alabama, my first. thought was obviously hope everybody's. going to be okay in that region. It. seems like every year that region gets. tested, their resolve gets tested no. matter where those those storms come up. And as I learned more about the storm,
you could see Friday evening 100 mph. winds coming in there. And then as I. learned, according to everybody I've. talked to, I mean, it's going to be. really wet. Um, but the winds I think. during game day could be 15 to 20 m an. hour and with with a lot of rain and I. just, you know, obviously everybody's. safety is first and foremost, but at the. same time, if there was any chance to. keep us outside and and let us do our. show, they it would have been great to. do that. But I understand why Matty. Garrett and the boys needed to pull the.
trigger and and make that happen. And. we'll be indoors and uh we hope the fans. will come over and have a great time. We. celebrated. We celebrated Matt Garrett. earlier today. He had to put his He had. to put his foot down. He had to for one. of the first times. This is not natural. for him. Not natural for him to be like, I have to make a decision. They're. telling me I have to make a decision. We're going inside. And then sends the. text into the group. Hey, because of all the information that we. are hearing, blah blah blah blah blah. He quoted James Span. I think he dropped.
the Jim Corn. He did. >> It was awesome. But we hope everybody. will come hang out with us in the. Coleman Coliseum. We're hopeful to make. it a memorable special kickoff to. another fantastic college football. Saturday which we are very very lucky to. be a part of. And uh we hope people come. hang with us inside. >> And and I and I heard I heard you. talking about Keelin Russell man and and. and about Kayn Deborore and Connor. You. know, you're right. I think there was a. a buzz that's been surrounding anybody. that was going to fill the shoes in XA,
but it there was obviously going to be a. buzz because nobody can do what he did. and the way he did it, the style that he. did it, and if you tried to come in and. act like him, it would have been. fraudulent. So, the best thing Kalin. Debor did, who's very, very different in. how he operates, obviously, uh, the way. he carries himself on a sideline, the. way he carries himself on interviews, he's just to his credit, he's being him. But some of the results of the game um. the games and and based on their. standard and their expectations that of. course the the GOAT created have left.
some fans frustrated. And to his credit, he's kind of just stayed in the pocket. You know, we talk about quarterbacks. kind of dealing with the noise and. sitting in the pocket. Dylan Debor's had. to deal with the noise and just kind of. sit in the pocket, go out, recruit, continue to try to talk about this. brand. Uh we're going to continue to go. up. We're going to continue to raise the. bar. We're going to do it our way. We're. not going to be, you know, we're going. to respect Nick Sabin and try to honor. him and everything we do, but at the. same time, we have to do this our way. It's the only way it's going to work. And that's that's very very hard to do.
when the expectation from the fans is. for you to be like him. And um I I I. just don't think that's that's realistic. when your personality is so different. So kudos to him for being himself. >> Yeah, >> I think they're a very different team. this year. Keon Russell's going to get a. lot of the credit, but they're healthy. at running back. Daniel Hill is running. the ball, number four, is running the. ball with authority. They're better at. the line of scrimmage. You mentioned. Ryan Coleman Williams. He's back to.
playing the way he did uh his freshman. year, which is great to see. Playing. with a lot more confidence. And then I. think the biggest issue is we saw last. week right here in this game uh in. Starkville, everybody thought he was. going to be a shootout. And Dane Wck and. this defense, man, they are flying. around. They're better in the trenches. and they're doing a much better job on. the back end just being on the same page. and coming up with interceptions. So, it's a very, very different Alabama. team. But here comes the guy on the. left, Herby Smart, who's got a chip on.
his shoulder every second of the day. He's number two in the country and he. feels disrespected and he's going to. have a pissed-off football team. There's. just no way around it. They're going to. come in mad at the world and they they. feel slighted. No one's really talking. about them even though they're number. two in the country. A lot of that has to. do with who they have played and this is. their opportunity to kind of show. America on a massive stage who they are. and what they're about and and you know. we always look at these quarterbacks and. who's a firstrounder and whatever.
Gunner Stockton is a football player. Gunner Stockton is just a guy that's. very experienced. He'll throw it as you. see here. He'll run it. He'll lower his. shoulder. It's hard not to fall in love. with that dude and the way he plays. So. game on, whether it's rain or wind or. whatever, good against good. You could. argue two of the best teams, maybe the. two best teams in the country going. head-to-head in Tuscaloosa, sign me up. I can't wait to get down there. >> I can't wait to get down there either. Good sell the entire game there by you,
breaking down literally every side of. the ball and the mindset of the coaches. You talk about Kirby Smart being pissed. off, not having as much uh attention. >> He's built this team, too, right? This. is from within. This isn't like huge. transfer portal. Gunner Stockton, this. is third year now we're seeing him as. quarterback for Georgia. He's throwing. it. He's throwing it much better than he. has in the past. He's completing at a. percentage that he has we've never seen. from Gunnar Stockton, let alone the. running people over, running around. people. They still got bloody Tuesdays.
and these guys have been in his system. for multiple years. >> I love how Kirby's been doing it because. we talk about transfer portal NIL. Kirby's been able to retain his guys NIL. wise as opposed to looking from outside. in. Maybe this the best culture he's had. in some time for his team. >> That's a great point, Pat. Great point. It's so rare to see that around college. football as you guys know. And what's. weird when you think about these two. teams, number one in the nation in. scoring offense, the Georgia Bulldogs. with Mike Boowbo as their OC, 51 points.
a game. And you could say whatever you. want about who they played. They've. played three SEC opponents or two SEC. opponents. And then on the other side, uh Alabama 49 points a game. So 51. points a game, number one in the. country, 49 points a game with Keen. Russell on the other side, number two in. the country. Now with the rain and the. weather and the better defenses, it's. obviously it's not you don't think it. would be that kind of game, but keep in. mind, I mean, the these guys offensively. are executing. They got playmakers and. they're doing a great job in the.
trenches and having a very balanced. attack. So can't wait to see which. defense can get some stops and and give. their quarterback uh the football back. And it it's typical when these teams get. together, there's there's there's an up. and down. There's there's a run. You. know, last time they played in. Tuscaloosa, it looked like Alabama was. going to kill them. Game over at. halftime. Bama's talking trash to. Georgia. Like, you're not coming into. our house. It was over. And here comes. Carson Beck. If you remember, it was. like, "Holy cow, what a game. They came. back and won it." And then, nope, here. comes Ryan Williams with his coming out.
party. Just exactly body control twist. I mean, it was it. And typically when. they play it's that kind of game last. second who's going to have the ball last. and and hopefully despite the weather it. uh it'll live up to that reputation. >> So we just talked to Jim Canour. He told. us the worry for our show in the morning. is coming out of that rain on the back. there might be a little bit of a tornado. thing coming out of the back. A little. bit of a spin cycle off the back end of. that rain. But he's he thinks the rain's.
going to be out of there by the time of. the game. So, if they cover the field, you're going to have to deal with some. excess maybe a little wind off the back, but I don't think it's I think the. weather should be really good for the. game. And I think the field surface. should be really good as well from what. Jim Canour just told us. Go ahead, Tone. >> Yeah, I just looked it up. So, like for. that part for that part of the day in. Tuscaloosa, it's like 30% rain and and. like 10 15 mph winds. So, for the game, which is which is I mean that's not like. it's going to be detrimental like it. could have been. >> Yeah. It's not going to take away. offensive explosion possibilities. It's.
not going to completely ground the. teams. Go ahead, Herby. Yeah, and I was. just going to say, I mean, we're we're. focused on football in the game, but. obviously on behalf of the Pat McAfee. show, all of us, all of us are thinking. about the folks in the region like. Mobile, Alabama. I'm sure Jim's going to. be down there, you know, I would assume. somebody from his team. I mean, when. this thing hits, they're talking about. 100 mph winds. So, obviously, first and. foremost, our thoughts are with those. folks in that region. But, if this goes. the way they're saying, it sounds like. this game is going to be able to be. played. And and like you said, Tone, it.
it and Pat, it looks like uh for the. most part, this storm could be rolling. through Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, uh late. morning, early afternoon, and by the. time that that football goes up in the. air, 6:30 local, it it sounds like there. may be some light rain still, but. hopefully everybody will be okay down. there in the coast uh in Mobile and and. throughout Mississippi and Alabama. >> Alabama post that kickoff is still. scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Central time. Saturday. We continue to encourage fans. to rely on official Alabama athletics.
and SEC channels for the latest. information regarding Saturday's game. Yes. Any storm coming to land. We have. thoughts uh for everybody as they battle. against it. Mobile, Alabama. >> at Senior Bowl down there. >> Yeah. >> I believe Mobile, Alabama is also the. original Marty girl. >> People in New Orleans don't like hearing. that. I talked to Jamus Wson his grandpa. on Monday night and he said, "You ever. come down for Marty Gro?" Had a great. accent. I said, "I've been to Mobile for. it." He goes, "Oh." I said, "That's. where it started, right?" He goes, "Oh,
come on." He said, "Ain't nothing like. New Orleans, Marty GR." So, I think I. was invited down there for it, but. Mobile senior ball down there. Pat White. from Daphne, Alabama, which is right. near there. Trip Hail for a college. roommate of mine. He's from Mobile. Got. a lot of love for that city of Mobile. Had some great nights down in Mobile, Alabama. hope they survive through this. uh without any massive damage because. that celebration of Katrina on Monday. like reliving the devastation of all. that. >> Yeah. >> Just a reminder of what's possible.
whenever weather and the ocean just. decide and then you know you're not. prepared. How could you be prepared for. it for whatever it brings and then just. complete it's like that's scary [ __ ]. man. Yeah. That's just like up here. whenever tornadoes are on the way, you're just like hoping that it doesn't. happen. >> It's just like I hope that it doesn't. take place. So after Go ahead. >> I was going to say co coach, I can't. remember uh if you were at Miami when. that big one hit early 90s down at. Miami. I don't know if you were a part. of the Kane staff back then, but I know.
that was uh a tough one as well for that. region. So yeah, I think sometimes. people in these areas sometimes they, you know, they're prone to say, "We're. just going to we're going to deal with. it and it's what we do and and then. other times, you know, it gets really. serious and and people evacuate." But. there was a big one down in Miami. I. just couldn't remember if coach was on. that staff or not. >> Yeah, I wasn't there. We had two games, you know, postponed and canceled. We. were supposed to open with UCLA in the. Orange Bowl. Um, and the thing about tor. uh hurricanes on the on the, you know,
east coast in the Atlantic Ocean is. you'll get a a storm from up north and. what happens is it'll push it out to sea. and won't hit land. So, they cancelled. the game. Okay, it happened two times. We all go home. Not a drop of rain. >> Cool. >> Because we got that that that from up. north push that baby out to the Atlantic. Ocean. >> and we're sitting at home, you know, grilling out and and drinking beers and. watching everybody else play that. Saturday. Played UCL later later in that.
year. Remember we were they were ranked. number two. >> in the country. >> 1998. Yeah. Ed Edger and James had a. monster. >> 299. That was his last game. 299. rushing. We beat him 45 to 37 or. something. And uh. >> and they threw a Hail Mary to that kid. Bennett, the the volleyball player. Uh. Kate McN threw one up to try to try to. beat you guys on a Hail Mary late. That. was an amazing day of a bunch of. >> There's no way what you just said was. right. What year is this? This is 28. years ago.
>> 1990. >> There's no way this Ohio guy is pulling. 28 years ago out of nowhere. >> You know, Cade was the quarterback. They. had a bunch of long, athletic wide. receivers. We were down 17. >> A white dude, a white dude volleyball. player that was like their leaper that. they tried to throw one up to late to. try to get a Hail Mary. But all I. remember from that game is I I used to. love the old Orange Bowl. I just. remember anytime I'd go in and watch the. Orange Bowl from the sideline. I. wouldn't call games back then. At the.
beginning, I was doing Thursday night. games and I just would stand there and. just look around cuz the Orange Bowl was. either no one there or everyone there. And when everyone was there, it was one. of the most hostile environments you. could find in college football. And I. saw so many cool Miami Florida State. games there. But that 98 UCLA game, Edin. James was the story. And he he he. outdooled Kade Mcnown to win that game. That was a big one. >> I couldn't even imagine how hilarious. Edin James was in college. Just how. hilarious I know of him to be now as a. Colts legend. He's still around the.
Indianapolis Colts organization a lot. What a beast. What a stud. You too. Good. brain on you there, Ohio guy. Yeah, >> you know, cuz you senior citizen stuff. now. >> Oh, yeah. Close. >> You too. You too. All right, let's go to. tonight. Let's go to the night. You uh. signed a new deal to continue Thursday. nights. We celebrated you last week. We'll continue that. >> Uh down in Dallas as the Tampa Bay. Buccaneers roll in with Jaylen Daniels. We obviously saw a lot of him with. Kansas. I think we even traveled out. there to one of his games. >> Him or Bean? >> Yeah, I think it was Jason Bean. >> Yeah, I think Bean. >> Bean played that game. You're right.
>> Yeah, it was Bean. Whatever. We were out. there. We celebrated Kansas football. They had massive investment. He did. amazing things for him. Now he's. starting quarterback in the NFL taking. on the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night. Football on prime time. What do you. expect from the game and what do you. expect from both teams, Kirk? >> Well, I mean, it's obviously you take. Bake away from from this offense. I. mean, he's your guy, right? He he's your. alpha. You take him away. This is a. Tampa team, by the way. They're 0 and4, but they're all one possession games. Their defense is playing well enough to.
win games. They're they're just. struggling. Zack Robinson, their new. offensive coordinator, came over from. the Falcons with Bejon and just trying. to kind of implement trying to find the. right running schemes to to make this. fit with a veteran offensive line. But. as you're seeing, this defense has. played well. Uh VA is still in the. middle there. Um I I think their defense. obviously will be challenged in a. massive way tonight against Dak Prescott. and and CD Lamb coming off a 17. reception game, which he just How many. times have you ever said that? 17. receptions and and won games, including.
the game winner late in that game. Um, and you know, I think that when you take. a rookie quarterback who's making his. first career start on the road, he. started last week against Green Bay at. home, but on the road on a short week, uh, it really can handcuff what you can. do. You want to play smart. You want to. be able to get Bucky Irving and that. running game going. But as you're seeing. him right there, that that'll be the key. to this game. He carried it eight times, 55 yards against Green Bay. A lot of. that was off schedule, just him creating. and making plays. Dallas wants to bottle.
him up. Dallas wants to stop the run. game and then keep him in the pocket, make him play quarterback from the. pocket. >> And if I'm Tampa, I'm trying to get him. outside. That's his own read. Just. sprinkling that in using his legs. He's. got a lot of moxy. He's got that it. factor. You know, Jake Browning was. signed after the time he was with. Cincinnati. He was forced into play a. lot with Burrow in some of his injuries. and they signed him thinking here's a. here's a reliable backup in case we get. into a situation with with Baker and.
then they went into camp and they're. like who's this undrafted free agent. quarterback rookie quarterback we got. that just kind of guys like him got he's. making plays he understands and they. said by the second preseason game he had. won the job and so even though they. signed Jake Browning as an insurance guy. they they let him go and they went with. this rookie and he's one of those guys. you talk to him. Just lights up the. room. Just like you could see why the. offense wants to respond to him, wants.
to play well for him. He he he he he's. got he's got a whip like his delivery. You saw that there. Look, when he's on. the move like that, >> he just is um very natural, very gifted, played a ton of games in college. So, I'm Everybody, you get to know him, you're going to pull for him. And let's. let's face it, Dallas right now with. Christian Parker, their new DC who came. over from Philly, still trying to figure. things out. You know, four weeks of. trying to have to outscore people to win. games. And a lot of that has to do with. not just new scheme, but but Pat,
they've been beat up on the back end. It's it's been a problem with a ton of. injuries. They're trying to get, you. know, where it's stable more on the back. end, and they're not getting a ton of. pressure right now. They're struggling. in that area. Four sacks on the entire. year. So, what can you do if you're a. Dallas defense? To me, you want to stop. the run of Bucky Irving, get this. quarterback who doesn't have a ton of. experience into those obvious passing. situations, and then just change the. picture up as much as you can. Green Bay.
did a really good job of that, especially late last week, got the game. moving really fast for him, came up with. some critical sacks late in that game. that preserved a win. And I think Dallas. is going to try to do much of the same. make this guy feel hurried and then. don't let him get out and create because. that's where he can do his most damage. >> We need Jaylen Denny's to run a lot. tonight. Yeah, we need uh we need land, air, and sea for our super boost. We. need CD Lamb to have over 60 receiving. yards. We assume that'll be a lock. And. then we need Jay there,
>> huh? >> You're good there. And then what do you. got here? >> Jaylen Daniels 40 plus rushing yards. >> Okay. Okay. All right. >> All right. All right. He likes that. Nothing's a. guarantee. Nothing's a guarantee. Please. be responsible. But this is what we were. boosting tonight. And you know to when. Kirk was saying that Dallas's defense is. trying to bottle up Jaylen, we were all. shaking our heads saying. we need him we need him not to get too. bottled up. But I think what you saw. from him against the Packers was he sees.
the lane, he's going to take it and has. the ability to do as such. And maybe. they draw up a couple for him. We think. he's athletic enough to get there, but. anything could happen on these Thursday. night games. There's a lot of talk about. the Dallas Cowboys defense, not as much. against about Tampa's defense. Go ahead, Chuck. >> So, you mentioned pressure and Dallas's. inability to get to the quarterback and. struggling right now. So, on the flip. side, Tampa struggling as well. I I'm. hearing that Ruben Bane is going to be. back in the in the lineup tonight. We. know Bulls's defense is is is he's going. to load up and he's they're really good.
against the run. Suspect against the. pass a little bit. Uh Winfield is out. Herby tonight, which is big to me. >> Yeah. um in that defense. Um the two. corners have been playing good, but how. do you how do you think with Bane back? I know he's going to have guys up in the. line of scrimmage. He gives you a bunch. of different looks, disguises, this. guy's coming, that guy's do they feel. confident they can pressure this. quarterback, they can get Dak and this. offense into third and long and get. after him. >> Boy, you know, and and you look at you.
look at these numbers outside of points. because some of that has to do with. their own offense putting them in some. tough positions. are giving up 24 a. game. But you go down running rushing. defense, they're they're third in the in. the league. I mean, it's hard to run the. ball on these guys. Passing defense, they're they're ninth in the uh in the. league right now. Total defense, they're. up near the top top five in total. defense. Uh and and critical areas, they've been outstanding. Red zone, they're fifth. So teams get into the red. zone, they're they're kicking field. goals. Uh third down defense, they're. they're sixth. So they're getting off.
the field on third downs. So despite not. getting a lot from the offense and it's. been inconsistent on that side of the. ball, this defense, as I said earlier, not getting them up a lot of explosives, making teams earn it, and then playing. well on third down in the red zone. Uh. so that's why they're in these onep. possession games. That that's why they. have a chance. And I think Ruben Bane, I. was talking to the coach, Todd Bulls, about him this week. He said, "We're. hoping to see the Ruben Bane from camp.". You know, the Ruben Bane from camp was. dominating people. hasn't played the.
last couple games. They get him back. Uh. would be great to see him. Remember that. debate during the draft. He's got short. arms and I I watching him play and. becoming a technician with Jason Taylor. as his defensive line position coach and. one of the greatest to ever do it. I I. we used to marvel at Ruben Bane's time. He would practice in that Miami Heat and. then he'd spend an hour. I'm talking. freshman, sophomore, junior year. He'd. spend an hour after every practice going. over different moves. grips and and.
different techniques that he had. So, I. think people are really underestimating. who he can be and maybe tonight's an. opportunity for him to go up against. Terrence Steel on that right side, a. veteran right tackle. Maybe he gets some. opportunities to get some pressure, but. this is not a or Tampa, they're 0 and4. Their defense is not balling. Their. defense is playing great. So, Todd Bulls. has done a hell of a job on that side. But Winfield obviously is kind of that. that chess piece is down. That's a. massive loss, but Bane coming back will.
be big. And then it's it's a matter of. pick your poison. They they put more. often than not CD Lamb on one side, Pickkins into the boundary. They're. looking at that backside boundary. safety. Is he rolled over top into the. boundary over Pickkins to create that. that rolled coverage or are they going. to put him in the middle of the field? Now you create one-on-one for Pickkins. Houston last week, they said, "Hey, this. this team's number one is Pickkins." So. they rolled a lot. Demo Ryan decided to. take Pickkins away. So what happened was. we saw a ton of CD Lamb and they also.
put Lamb and Pickins on the same side. more than they have last week. So we'll. see if they do that tonight, but those. two are a problem. They're both number. ones on one team and and Dak is the. beneficiary just sitting back there. having time to throw. They can run the. ball with Javvante Williams. This is one. of the elite offenses this year uh in. the NFL. be fun to watch Todd BS's. scheme go up against the firepower of. Dak in in this offense right now that's. that's clicking at at 30 points a game.
playing as well as anybody in the. league. >> You mentioned there Houston deciding to. double uh George Pickkins. I wonder if. this week will be a bit different. Go. ahead, Ty. >> Yeah, Herby, do you think that uh. tonight is going to be the night that. Pickkins kind of gets it going? Obviously playing on the franchise tag. this year. I think a lot of pe. especially after how how well he did. last year when CD was out a chunk of the. season, but he hasn't really got going. much and I guess you don't really need. to when CD is catching 17 balls and. they're just leaving him wide open. But. it does kind of feel like tonight is. going to be a George Pickins game. Do.
you agree with that or is there really. not that big of a concern to get him. going because their offense has been. performing so well? >> Well, I I think it's more of how will. they play us? I I don't think it's, hey, let's get Pickkins going. I think Shotti. looks at it like, "Hey, we want to get. CD and Pickkins. We want to get them all. going, but how are they playing us, you. know, and and what can we do to try to. get one of these guys isolated? That's. it. They because they both can win. one-on-one." Pickings, by the way, that. catch right there set up eventually the.
game winners. So, he had some moments, but you're right, he hasn't had the the. the the amount of catch receptions you. would expect to see from him. But if you. talk to Dak, which we did yesterday, that has everything to do with not so. much, hey, let's get CD his touches. It's more about how are they going to. defend us? And George's role more often. than not is put in that traditional X. into the boundary. So if you go three by. one or whatever formation you do, he's. over here. And if they have the audacity. to leave a corner one-on-one, no matter. what the call is, Dak has a built-in,
okay, they're one-on-one, let's get the. ball to three. And um like I said, Shotti last week did an interesting job. of trying to get them both on the same. field to try to uh create some of those. those one-on-one opportunities for both. Pickkins and Lamb. But everything. tonight and every game really for Dallas. is going to be predicated upon how teams. choose to defend them. And then you go. to without Antoine Winfield, will they. be a little bit more conservative? Will. it be a little bit more shell? Will it. be more, hey, let's just try to keep all.
this firepower in front of us? were. really good in the red zone. Let's keep. them in front of us, not give up those. big plays and then let's squeeze them. and make that great kicker have to kick. field goals. That That's what I would do. somehow someway. And then get creative. on third down. That That's where Todd BS. is as good as anybody at at giving a lot. of different looks and being multiple. and trying to affect the offensive line. and the pass. >> All right, let's pivot off of tonight's. game to a broader NFL storyline that has. certainly captivated a lot of headlines. Go ahead, Con man.
>> Yeah, Kirk. big story this week was uh. Lane Johnson calling it a career. I I'm. sure you remember him all the way back. to Oklahoma. What did you think about. him just as a player in general and then. if you want just going into the Eagles. and what you think they need to do to. turn it around a little bit? >> Well, obviously I I don't know all his. his uh stuff he's dealing with. emotionally and personally. um you know. for him to get to a point where he needs. to step away. I mean this is talking. about one of the elite offensive linemen. to ever play at that right tackle spot.
So uh you know you think about him and. and hope that he's okay with everything. that that he's dealing with uh as far as. his play his ability to play on the. field. You're right. I go all the way. back with him watching him at Oklahoma. This was always just some of those guys. come through college. They're just. they're just built differently. They're. incredibly athletic and just have. massive size. He was just that guy in. college. So, always been a dominant. player. Um, I think everybody in Philly. will always remember him for all the the. Super Bowls and all the great times and.
what he brought them. So, I'm sure. everybody's wishing him the best as far. as where they go from here. Now, they. move the center. So, I mean, I I don't. know if they're building up um, you. know, a lot of volume to eventually, you. know, kind of reload and reshuffle. you. know, this trade was probably even more. surprising to me um than the. announcement of Lane Johnson. It's it's. uh you know, this 2026 season, Philly is. still a team that we all think of as a. team that can win that division and and.
possibly make a run. And for them to. lose the starting right tackle and now I. saw you guys talking yesterday uh with. JJ and now to lose a Pro Bowl center and. Cam Jurgens. I mean that that's maybe. there's something going on behind the. scenes and we don't know. Not to mention. Jeff Stoutland who's probably the best. line coach in in the game. All these. things happening uh within a year with. within one calendar year. It's either, hey, we're we're stocking draft picks. and we're getting ready to have a new.
wave of players, or they they they have. some trust and confidence in some of. these younger guys that they think can. step up and and play and at the same. time try to get some draft capital along. the way. But yeah, I I don't I don't. know if there's any NFL fan that. expected to see this with Philly. And uh. I think everybody's kind of shocked and. anxious to see how they look and what. they do from here. We just seen that the. 2028 draft for the Philadelphia Eagles. is quite a wealthy one. Got a lot of. picks, got a lot of power picks. How. will they utilize those or weaponize.
those into moving up or rebuilding a. roster that maybe they have to move on. from a couple pieces? And we got a Hembo. stat. Uh he cannot find in the last 15. years another interior offensive lineman. that had been traded for a second round. pick. So second round pick for an. interior offensive lineman, very rare, but also tack on a fifth round pick. there. I think Howie said we weren't. planning on it. We weren't planning on. it. Then Baltimore Press so much added a. second rounder in there and we felt. almost obligated. Cam had been playing. guard I do believe this year and a lot.
of the John's in Philadelphia on the. internet were saying Cam's been good. riddance to Cam is what had he been. watching him this year is what they. said. Well, he's also playing guard now. He moves back to center in Baltimore. Maybe it's just best for all parties. But as a Philadelphia Eagles fan and the. way I uh appreciate the way they've. played football over the last few years, it does feel a little different this. year than it has of years past. And they. still got their franchise quarterback in. Saquon Barkley in the backfield. So I I. I'm intrigued to see how the rest of the.
year goes with Sirriani and the. conversation around him and what they. end up doing. >> He's also incredibly cheap and I think. the Ravens have him for like the next. like four years. Like I believe his cap. number this year is like 1 million, then. it's like 4 million next year. So like. they're not breaking the bank to get him. either. So yeah, it crazy all the way. around. >> Now Saquon and Devonte officially did. not practice uh due to their hamstring. injury. So health is also a part of a. conversation in Philadelphia. Wild times. in that NFC East. Okay, let's go back to. college as we wrap up uh this wonderful.
hour with Mr. Herb Street. Go ahead, Tone. >> Yeah, Herby. Obviously you guys are. going to be down in the SEC, but there's. two very intriguing games uh in the Big. 10 uh this weekend. UCLA is heading to. Oregon and Indiana is going to Nebraska. Kind of a matchup of teams that have. been very fun this year. And then the. perennial powerhouses, not perennial for. IU, but you know, powerhouses now uh in. IU and Oregon. And you know, what do you. think of those two games? Any upset. alert in any of those two? >> Yeah, anything you can know and say, hey, anybody with brain will know that.
this is the right play. You don't say. that until after I make my picks on. Saturday. Go ahead. Just looking at this board, that IU. Nebraska game, man, that that's going to. be awesome because we're going to find. out where Indiana, we all assume. Indiana's Indiana, you know, the Indiana. we've seen the last couple years. This. will be a really good test to find out. cuz that's a that's a tough environment. and Matty Rule's got a team right now. with the quarterback play that's being. more a little bit more dual threat. It. it looks like they have a a team. But is. this is this fool's goal? Is this like,
okay, here comes Nebraska. They're. playing great. They got they got him at. home and then here comes Indiana. Bang. Is it that we'll we'll see. Um I I I I. look at the UCLA Oregon game. I'll be. honest. I I did pick that one as my my. super dog. I. >> I I'm kind of drinking the Kool-Aid. there with UCLA. I don't know if they. can win the game up at Eugene, but I. think they can hang around. I think this. team's uh pretty legit. Uh, it's a lot.
of fun, by the way, for for my age group. to see UCLA uh get back in the mix. I I. would love to see them continue with Bob. Chzn to hover back into the top 25. parentally, get them get them going. again. The UK LSU game, what a I mean, we thought UK after they blew that first. half against Alabama, okay, they're same. old UK. Then they go down to Kyle Field, >> do what they did there. They back it up. again and win. Now they got LSU at home. um some weather potentially there in. Lexington. But I think that's an.
interesting game. Uh the Missouri. getting&m after such an emotional win. last week. Are they able now to That's. the deal in the SEC is it's like you. catch a team at the right time. They. catch Florida who's trying to get down. after the Old Miss game and they pound. them and now they have to be the one to. get back down uh after&m now is in. desperation mode themselves. So, lot of. great games, lot lot of intriguing games. in both of those conferences, the Big 10. and the SEC. And can Iowa State on a.
Friday night go to Provo and and ruin. potentially a college game day location. because, >> you know, sounds like game day, if. everybody wins, we we may be heading to. uh to Provo maybe for uh possibly. I. don't know that, but I you heard that. >> Well, Herby, you heard that? >> Herby has about the same amount of power. as the rest of us when it comes to. deciding where it's headed and where. it's going to be whenever we get there. We learned that this week. That's Kirk. Herbshid. He'll be on tonight. We'll be. back on the other side of this break. Goodbye.
>> Obviously, the kicking is easy contest. has become quite a spectacle. And today, we have an opportunity to do something. special with my man named. >> James Whitehead. >> Okay. James Whitehead. Where are you. from, brother? >> Pennsylvania. >> Okay. What year are you? >> I'm a freshman. >> What's your major? >> Finance. >> Okay. Finance major. Wow. Good financial. move as a college student with a great. mustache, I might add. That mustache was. born for days like today. With no shoes.
on, just like Connor from last week, you. will have an opportunity to win $1. million. >> Here's here's the one catch. >> He has never kicked a football in his. life. >> Yeah. Have you ever kicked before? >> No. >> Have you ever played soccer before? I. did play soccer. >> Okay. Wait a minute. Okay. Were you like. an ass soccer player or were you pretty. good? >> I was uh I was decent. Got a lot of. concussions, so I couldn't play anymore. >> Oh, I like that. Just throwing the head.
around. You're supposed to use your. feet. Mad respect. Okay. So, what is. your uh what are the lads telling you. about potentially making today's kick? Have you prepared for this? >> Uh I called my kicker from back home. Asked for a few tips, but uh besides. that, I'm just going to I'm just going. to go with it. >> Okay, you got it. I think you just close. your eyes and swing as hard as you. possibly can. Let that mustache ride you. to success. >> One question. Have you ever kicked any. ball barefoot in your life? >> Oh, yeah. Okay. A few. >> So, you're com you're comfortable with. this? >> Never tried kicking a football, but.
we'll see. Hopefully, I can put it. straight. >> All right. Hopefully, you can, James, for $1 million. Now, I must say, >> hey, hey, we can't we can't be doing. >> multiple kicks whenever there's $1. million on the line. If this guy misses, no second chance. >> No second chance. >> Hey, now before he goes, before he goes, are you ready?
HELL YEAH. DAMN RIGHT. Gosh Almighty, who the hell ARE WE? HEY, FLAM BAM. OH, miss by damn. Let's go, James. I got it. How long have you known. that? >> I just found it out this morning. I feel. pretty good about it. >> You nailed it. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> All right, buddy. >> Nice shirt. Nice jersey there. >> Herby, this the first top 10 LSU Miss.
regular season match since 1962. Lane Kein COMING BACK INTO TOWN. $1. MILLION FOR MUSTACHE JAMES FRESHMAN. THAT'S THE best kick.
>> The following program is a collection of. stooges talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic. informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans in the real. world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further. >> Hey,
let's go. >> This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very very thankful for. on the line with a gorgeous assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers, you. stop. >> Damn it. Your friend, tell a friend. something nice could change their life. >> Hello, beautiful people and welcome back.
to our humble the boat, the draft kings. thunderdome on this NFL week five. kickoff Thursday. Hour two of the sports. program begins now. >> FOOTBALL. WAS that hung. >> I'll tell you what, coming into that, we. were nowhere near ready. And while it. was happening, nowhere near ready. I. pitched a new hobby for myself and it. was immediately shot down by everybody. in the Thunderdome. I said, you know. what? Maybe I'd do some mountain. climbing someday. I saw a video of a guy.
hiking up a mountain. When he got to the. top, he posed and he had to walk his ass. back down. Are you all right, Tone? That's one half of the hammer, Dad. Cowboys AP. Tone. I was almost. >> [ __ ] mountain climbing out here. >> I was almost influenced into becoming a. big-time mountain hiker, you know, during the break. And as soon as I said, you know what, boys? Maybe I do this. Michael Cole does it of the WWE. Uh, 37year football coach. Coach Chuck. Pagano said he saw him on TV. Said, "Michael Cole looks really good right. now." And I'm like, "Yeah, guy climbs. mountains. He does some scuba diving.
Maybe I do some mountain climbing." I. just saw a video in the toxic table at. Boston Conor and Ty Schmidt. Immediately. saw it down. What if it What if this is. what I'm called to do? Mountain. climbing. Ty Schmidt. >> Yeah, maybe. Cuz, you know, from what I. know about you, you'd love to, you know, fly to Nepal and uh, you know, be at. some base camp with some, you know, old. Asian guy with a long beard who's high. on opium and have him take up to the top. of a mountain. Yeah. Some of them are. sherpas and some of them are homeless. guys who have just been living on the. mountain for, you know, their entire. lives. You don't want to do that. If it.
was down the road and you could like. climb up into like a cool treehouse or. something, absolutely do that. >> Hike in mountains. Are you nuts? >> Yeah. Get on the Oculus probably has. >> Yeah, exactly. >> Exactly. Mastercul. and No hands. >> Are you talking hooks and carabiners and. all that [ __ ]. >> Do that. I don't have the ability to do. that. I will. >> Okay. So, just. >> I've got a couple documentaries. I've. watched them all. You watch Neu?
>> Uh, what's that one? >> Noo. >> No. >> Sharks. Sharks. Fin. >> Oh, buddy. >> Oh, buddy. >> Yeah. What's that one? >> It's wild. You got to watch it. >> Like all the Everest ones. That one is. >> I think it's Mero. M E R U. >> I know Hold. >> Sure. >> And I knowair. >> Two goats. >> And I've watched them also the base. jumping dock. I watched that one. I. would like to do the base jump thing, but then as I watch that documentary, characters from the documentary started. disappearing.
>> Yeah. Yeah. >> And then actually couldn't finish the. documentary. >> Yeah. They're not doing exit interviews. on those ones. >> Yeah. But I appreciate them and their. courage to do that. I did think the. squirrel suit would be sweet. as you're kind of going through there. So much fun. >> Oh my god. >> Especially under a bridge up over the, >> you know, when most people die. Mountain. climbers. >> at the bottom. It's on the way down. >> Waiting in line. It's on the way down. >> Oh, you're talking about the climbing, not squirrel. >> Once they get to the top of like say. Everest, they think, "Okay, I've. conquered this, right?" They let their.
guard down, they get a little. complacent. Splat. >> on the way back down. >> The way back down. or you die waiting in the lineup these. days. >> Yeah. Chuck Pagano, uh, as Nick Morado. just pointed out in my ear there, Chuck. Pagano just gave a team meeting speech. Hey, it's on the way down from the. mountain top is whenever you end up. actually dying. You look at Everest. It's not about because you get. complacent. You think you get to the top. of the mountain, it's over. It's not. You're halfway home. You're halfway. You. got to walk all the way back down that. And it's on the way down that you let.
your guard down. It's on the way down. that you don't prepare as much. It's on. the way down that you're not as mentally. tough. That is when we need to be at our. absolute best. That sounded like a team. meeting coming right out of your mouth. right there. >> And the reason they don't make it to the. top, you know why that is? >> Cuz they look up. Don't look. >> They think it's impossible. >> Don't judge. >> No, just next next finger hole, next. footooth hole. >> I'm not doing any of that. I'm not doing. the I'm doing a walking one. A hiking. one, I believe, is we used to call it. walking in the woods. Then I learned. other people call that hiking in.
Pittsburgh. It's just walking. >> What you're doing? I mean, if you're not. going to go after. >> cuz I'll do it with you. >> Will you really? >> I mean, we can go for a a walk after the. show after get out of that [ __ ]. >> That's not what I'm talking about. Joining us live from Anaticanin, Ohio is. a man who's heard a lot of these. speeches from coaches and it's shaped. him into the man that he is now. >> Mhm. >> College football national champion, Super Bowl champion, Ryder Cup winner, ladies and gentlemen. AJ Hawk. >> Ho, I want to I had a dream for about 15.
seconds. >> I'm all in. I'm all in. Don't let these. guys hold you back, man. You know, you. got chase. You know, we're always. chasing greatness. If you want to climb. K2 and all that, I'll I'll come with. you. >> So, you're coming, too? >> Yeah, I could I could hike or walk in. the woods. I don't know if I can get. like the technical, but you know, >> is it walking in the woods? >> Yeah, it is. We're walking in the woods. >> It leads to that. If we if we hike one. little baby mountain, we're going to be. like, "All right, now we got to go to. the tallest peaks. We're going to find. those and then we'd go start base. jumping and squirrel suiting like. >> do camel back that one time.". >> Bingo. Well, I didn't remember. It was. an OPTION THAT WAS 2 HOURS AWAY.
>> Thank you. I knew the answer to that. question when I said that one. >> You've done. >> Camel Back. Yeah. >> You signed up for that? Did you know how. long it was going to be before you went. up there? Cuz I was I had my shoes. I. was ready to go and then they told me it. was going to be about two and a half. three hours for that. >> Two hours. Don't you think you could cut. that in half at least though? If it's. three hours for anyone else. >> Exactly. That's what I'm thinking. We. can knock it out. Go ahead. >> So, this is according to Google AI. >> Sure. >> So, if you want to hike to the the. summit of K2, just standard expedition. >> Cool. >> It is uh 28,251.
ft tall. >> Love that. >> And it's just going to take you roughly. about 45 to 60 days. >> 45? >> Yeah. Two months. That does sound like. something you'd sign up for. >> Yeah. So, I mean, yeah. And and you know. what? Hey, but not bad because the. sightseeing I hear over in Pakistan and. on the over there. It's great. So, you. know, not only that, you can get a great. meal afterwards or beforehand. So, >> well, >> I need to All right. So, I'm going to. start I got to start curtailing my algo. Okay. I can't be having that [ __ ] show.
up while I'm going to the bathroom. Perfect GoPro video, too, of me walking. >> Yeah, >> that's what I'm talking about. We put. our jackets on. Okay, too. >> We could throw some treadmill new maybe. and then just start walking with the. >> ever since 55 to 70 days. >> We need to find a new mountain to climb. metaphorically. >> Sure. >> Cuz it won't be actual mountains because. >> Does Chuck have somewhere he lives? You. can start out there. >> Well, that's what he said. >> You got mountains? >> You want to start out? >> Oh, yeah. Okay. >> Got the flat irons. >> Oh, we can walk those. >> And then we've got.
>> go scuba diving with Bald. >> I can't do that cuz my ear, you know. I. got. >> You can pressure you. I know you had a. situation where you hit you smacked your. head, but I think we can work through. that. >> I was attacked. I didn't smack my head. I I was wave. >> Thank you. I was I was swinging at a. wave and that thing crashed on my face. I was attacked by the ocean like. somebody was just attacked by something. in here. >> Ice machine. >> Okay. Ice machine. Happy. That's. >> Oh, dropped a plate of pancakes. I. thought it was. >> I think it was Bone getting up. >> God, everybody has their lines. I mean,
Bone doesn't deserve that. Now, since. we're not talking about sports and. pissing everybody off here, uh, that we. have two hours a day on ESPN, one more. thing, not about sports, just about life. celebration. Welcome back, Foxy. >> Hey, thank you, boys. Thank you, boys. Yeah, it was a great two weeks. Uh, I'm. a dad now. So, the most important two. weeks of my entire life. Uh, and. honestly, like filled with so much love. and joy and all of that. Love my wife so. much. And thank you guys for holding it. down. I really appreciate it. >> No, we're incredibly happy and pumped.
for you. We did miss you. I will say uh. Bruce and Mitt held it down for you in. the back there behind the glass. Very. important times of the football season. and very important time for you and your. family. We uh wish you nothing but the. best in this entire process. Did we sell. it to you properly on what the first. couple weeks of uh parenting is like? >> Yeah. Uh 1,000%. One of my biggest. takeaways on this entire thing was. actually that everything that everyone. told me about being a parent, and this. shocked me, was 100% true. Just how.
difficult it is, but also how, you know, euphoric and great and amazing it is on. both ends of the spectrum. Everyone was. 100% correct. Uh, so it's it's just been. a great two weeks, and I missed you guys. as well, to be honest. And thank you, Bruce, Mitt, everyone else, for holding. it down. >> Hell yeah. You and Reagan are going to. be incredible parents as you've already. experienced here. and that baby boy is. loved by all of us. Uh it is great to. have you back there. >> Yeah, appreciate you guys. >> Just want to let you know that. >> it is great to have you back. >> It's great to be back. It's weird. watching from the other side. I don't.
know how many shows I've ever missed on. this uh program and so being on the. other side is very strange. >> Bruce, you did a great job. Incredibly. proud of yourself. >> I didn't. We can kind of drop the K. It. is great to be back. It is great to be. back over over here. Um, I feel like it. plays my strengths a little bit more and. and I have much um not that I didn't. respect what Foxy was doing next to me, but uh much more appreciation for. everything that Foxy puts together and. does every day. >> You did great, Bruce. Actually, way to. go, Foxy. Welcome back. >> Good job, boys. >> Okay, here in a matter of moments, we'll.
be talking to Kirby Smart, head coach of. Georgia. He's also a feature of the. Sabin documentary. The Sabbin. documentary, six episodes. All six will. be drop at 600 p. p.m. Eastern tonight. on the ESPN app. First episode will. debut on ESPN's channel 6 p.m. Eastern. I think they'll be debuting those each. week, but if you have the ESPN app, you. can watch all six and stream them. Here's an exclusive clip about winning a. national championship with coach Nick. Sabin and how it feels the day after.
>> After a national championship, I went. out and celebrated till about 4:30. Get. a text message 6:00 in the morning. Staff meeting 7:30 a.m. >> Staff meeting 7:30. >> You thought somebody might get fired and. I'm like, well, surely nobody's getting. fired. We just won a national. championship. But why would you have a. 7:30 meeting? >> I would tell the guys, hey, we did a. great job. It was a great season. You. know, it's great to win a championship, but we need to move on now.
>> I almost fell out of my chair. Like everybody else in the world, they. probably think we should get a free trip. to Aruba and spend a week celebrating. and let things in the program that need. attention go unattended. >> Seriously, somebody's got to get people to get back. on track to do the things they need to. do so you can be successful. There's no. history in sports. I mean, the history. is the history, right? But if you're.
going to focus on the history, you're. never going to ever do anything in the. future. >> I think we're about to learn a lot about. what life is like at the top of the. mountain, metaphorically and actually. Joining us now is a sixtime national. champion, two times as the head coach of. the Georgia Bulldogs. And the man who. said it felt like maybe somebody was. getting fired. Surely nobody's getting. fired. Kirby Smart. >> How you doing, coach? >> What's up? What's up, guys? How y'all. doing? >> Hey, thank you for joining us. Have you. seen that clip before? And when you're.
asked a bunch of these questions about. Coach Sabin, where does your mind. immediately go to? >> I just watched that piece, man. That was. something that I had not seen that. obviously the part that I was in the. interview, but I had not seen him. And. of course, Jeff Allen, one of the. greatest in the world. To watch that. clip and hear that and think about that. staff meeting that morning. There has. been a lot of text messages since about. that staff meeting that morning after. the national championship. That was a. that was an alltimer for me. >> How much of that have you taken into.
your gig now as the head guy at Georgia? We talk about the Sabin tree a lot, how. it's everywhere in college football and. I think every single coach has said like. I go there and I learned what was. possible, what you're allowed to do. How. much of him have you taken into Georgia? How much have you modeled after. yourself? And after your national. championships, do we have 6:30 a.m. meetings instead of 7:30 a.m. Coach? >> No, I go out too late for that. I can't. I can't I can't make it up that early if. uh if or when we win one. But um no, I I.
got a lot of appreciation for coach. Sabin. He was so good for my career and. so many of the stories um like co Jimmy. Sexton tells me all the time, you know, you do the same thing he does now. And. I'm like, well, that's not exactly true. Um you know, some of my staff might. think that I do, but there there's a lot. of differences and uh I've become kind. of my own person. Obviously the first. couple years I think we did things. almost exactly like uh we did them there. and it kind of morphed into you know our. personality our personality but man. those memories and and those times with.
him are just some of the best ever. The. best part Pat is that there were two. 6:30 or 7:30 staff meetings after. national championships. One of them I. was a part of. The other one was the one. that I left to go to Georgia right after. we beat Clemson and that was the Lane. Keifin one. So Lane Lane did not enjoy. 7:30 staff meetings after national. championships. I can honestly say I. missed that one though because I jumped. on a plane to go to Athens. So I missed. it. I don't know if Lane made it either. >> I wonder if there'll be probably not. I. wonder if there's any in the documentary.
about I don't remember if it was when. you were leaving, but it was during the. championship run where they were scared. about potential who's recruiting what. and who's giving away information. Just. the balance of college football. happening in front of our eyes here in. the Sabbin documentary will be special. to watch. Now, speaking of special, this. weekend, big one in Tuscaloosa. >> I don't know if you're going to make it. Obviously, you got a team. We got. premiere tonight down there. Okay. They. told me I need to wear a sport coat for. this thing. >> Wow. >> Yeah. No way. I walked the red carpet to.
hell with everybody there, but I will. certainly show up and show my love. Bryce Young's coming back to be the. celebrity guest picker. and your team. undefeated number two team in the. country is coming into Tuscaloosa to. take on this Kalin Dborled Alabama. squad. Just your mindset as you head. into another massive weekend against. Alabama and do you know what you have in. your team at this point? I know. everybody's talking about your strength. of schedule and who you played and. against Arkansas you guys were doing. one-on- ones during commercial breaks. Do you feel like you know your team yet. or is this weekend a big one for you as. well as you judge the type of squad you.
have? >> It's a big one for us too. I think. you're you're honestly you're finding. out your team all year just like it was. in the NFL. You know, you play these. games that are really tough and. physical. You never know which way it's. going to go. So much is put into this. game and then there's going to be. another one the next week. So, uh we're. trying to keep our guys levelheaded. Yeah, it's important. Yeah, it's a hell. of an opportunity on a national stage, a. brand game for both teams brand. We. think we're a physical team. They're a. physical team. let let's let's go find. out and let's see who's you know maybe.
most physical or the most ready right. now because both of us got to get better. if we want to go where we want to go and. the only way you're going to get better. is play good people so I really am. excited about the matchup I do think. they are a much improved team and an. extremely physical team. >> AJ has a question for you coach. >> coach yeah I've seen where you've talked. about how physical their uh their team. is how they've been had much more. success running the ball this year I. guess there's so much talk about the. weather situation going on the wind and. all that schematically for you guys. Is. it almost like you have a couple. different game plans that you might have.
to pivot to depending on how windy it. may be, what what the situation might. look like? >> Yeah, certainly. We can't replicate. those uh those weather situations, but. we can think about them. You know, you. study other games out there that people. have played in those conditions. It's. shaping up to be a little less uh windy. and less uh rain than we expected, but. who knows? You know, it may it may. change that way. And I think both teams. have an identity that they can they can. fight in that kind of weather and grind. it out and then they can also be really. explosive and throw it around. And uh.
that's what's the beauty of it. Both. both defenses got their hands full. trying to defend the other offense. >> Kirby, we're in a crazy world of. transaction seemingly and not so much. for your program. Go ahead, Tone. >> Yeah, coach. Before the season, like. when I'm researching, I look and it's, oh, Georgia's the youngest team in. college football this season as far as. average by age on the on the roster. But. then you also look and it's oh they're. all also one of the most returning. experienced teams as well in the country. which is never happens. So how has that. been? Is it is it you know grooming. players from when you recruit them and.
you know last year you guys were young. but they got a lot of experience into. this year. How has that all worked out. and played into this year's team? >> Well we try to retain we want to retain. our players best we can. We think we. develop them. We'll take our development. versus you know yours or your programs. any time and we want to keep our players. our players. So, that takes a financial. commitment to retain our players. Um, but it also takes going out and finding. guys you need. And we're not like. oblivious to the portal. We we've gone. out and got some players that have. helped us. We got a couple guys starting.
this year. But for the whole, we we want. to we want to recruit from our state. We. want to uh grow our players and develop. them. We think they're better in our. system in year three and year four. Um, I can't say that we got more in year. three and four than we have in the past. because we're still a young team, but. we're always going to be a young team. I. just want to be a young, talented team. Kirby, a lot of people are, you know, buying a whole new roster every single. year, whole new quarterback, whole new. everything and having to instill a. culture quickly. Some people have been. able to do it, some people haven't.
You've seen some organizations, franchises, programs collapse because. they get a bad class and there's nothing. really that you can depend upon. You. doing it from within feels very abnormal. in this state that we're currently in in. college football. Do you agree with. that? And when did you decide that that. was going to be we are going to focus on. keeping our guys as opposed to replacing. our guys for a championship right now? Because it feels like it is a world. where you can get tempted outside as. opposed to sticking with your guys. When. did you make that decision? And is this. how you see Georgia going for the.
foreseeable future no matter how much. change happens? >> I don't know that we made a a blatant. decision. I will say Pat that that it's. a conscious effort to retain players. I. think that's important. You want to have. a good relationship with them. You want. to communicate with them. You want to. show them how they're getting better. We. spend a lot of time each day saying, "Hey, man, here's your drill work." We. call it drill carryover. We're getting. you better and we're showing progress in. guys. But, you know, the one thing you. said in your comment is that it can be. like the best of the world or the worst. of the world. You see collapse in some. places where they didn't hit it right.
and then you see the rise where people. did hit it right. You know, maybe they. hit on a quarterback and the the. championship game has been portal. quarterbacks and that's the way people. have gone about it. But, we've kind of. been in the middle of that. like we've. been really consistent, but we have not. been uh at the top here recently, meaning the final two teams, but we've. been really consistent. And I think the. consistencies come from the continuity. And when you start going into the feast. and famine world, you don't know what. you're going to get. If you miss on a. quarterback, you miss on some portals, you can have those up and down years. I. feel like we're a model of consistency.
and physicality with what we've done. over uh 10 years. >> Back-to-back SEC champs, nobody's. talking about it at all. Number two team. in the country. Congratulations to you, Kirby. Doing it your own way. Now, your. own way, we're starting to learn about. some other ways, too. Go ahead, Con man. >> Yeah, coach. It feels like the. consistency kind of starts on those. Bloody Tuesdays. And now we're hearing. about other schools. You know, Florida. in particular has made headlines about. them doing Bloody Tuesdays, so maybe, you know, you have a little bit respect. for Florida or it's screw Florida. forever. But how have those been? Are.
those kind of the days that separate the. guys that you know are going to stick. around forever? And are those also the. places that you'll go and maybe grab a. guy from uh you know in the transfer. portal from a school that you know is. doing Bloody Tuesdays? >> Yeah, much to do about nothing. Everybody wants to make a fight about. who invented Bloody Tuesday. Bloody. Tuesday was made long before uh I was. playing before I was born. I know uh. when I came to Georgia, they talked. about Bloody Tuesday and Wayne McDuffy, one of the legendary coaches, coached a. lot of places. A lot of people know.
Wayne McDuffy. He would scream bloody. Tuesday every Tuesday. and I had. nightmares about it. So, nobody invented. that. We don't claim to invent that. I. would love to take players from places. that have that kind of physical. toughness because, you know, it's kind. of ingrained in them. But, it's funny. because when ETM was here, the back we. got from Florida, he came up to me one. day and said, "Coach, we do Bloody. Tuesday, too. We did it every every time. at Florida. It didn't work out for us. the same way it worked out for y'all.". So, it's not like, you know, nobody has. that ownership identity. They're the. only ones that can do it. >> Well, we might start doing it here, actually.
>> Yeah. We might start throwing a little. bloody Tuesday, you know, start the next. line up ball. You talked about. quarterbacks feast or famine. You have a. guy who has a lot of experience and. seemingly playing better than ever. Go. ahead, Ty. >> Yeah, and you also talked about physical. toughness, coach. And I think the first. thing that you know a lot of us remember. about Gunner Stockton was him coming in. in the SEC championship against Texas. getting absolutely tattooed and it was. like, "Oh man, they might stretcher this. guy out." He bounced his ass right back. up and was like, "Hey, give me the ball. Let's let's do it again." But what have. you noticed about his maturation process.
from maybe that moment until now? And. does it feel like, you know, you are. much more confident and like, hey, this. guy's going to be able to go out and. kind of get the job done and take us. where we need to go? >> Yeah. The first thing is I don't want. him taking those shots to Texas. And. then last year he took two. He took one. in the Auburn game, one in the Old Miss. game that were worse than that. People. don't talk about them, but they were the. most vicious hits I've seen somebody. take. and he bounces right up and gets. up like a rubber band. Got to be one of.
the toughest kids I've ever been around. But I'd prefer him not take those hits, but yet we got a lot of confidence in. him, his execution. He understands. defenses. I think the offensive staff. here does a hell of a job preparing him. for the looks he's going to get and uh. it allows him to to make the plays he. makes, but he is a tough human being. that uh pops up every time. >> Are you going to be watching all six. episodes of the Sabin Dock tonight with. your team? I think it's only what, like. six hours or so time. Yeah, that's hope. >> I would love to I wish I could be there. at the grand opening just to honor him.
because so much of my success has come. from what I learned from him and I have. so much respect for him and and once you. become a head coach, you respect him a. hell of a lot more. The story that. didn't get told was on Christmas day. when he uh he text me one time, we're. getting ready to play Notre Dame and he. he hit me and said, "Hey, I think you. know, I know we were planning on coming. in on the 26th, but I think we need to. come on in today. We're way behind." And. I thought, I'm sitting here in front of. the Christmas tree with my three kids. and we're going to come in on Christmas. day. And of course, we did. We worked. that day and we called everybody in and.
got the work done. But the best part of. it was after we beat Notre Dame and we. beat them, you know, considerably. We we. we we blew him out. I was like, I sure. am glad we came in Christmas Day. It It. made a lot difference in that 38 win or. whatever it was we won by, but uh he. probably won't remember that tonight, but it meant a lot to him there. He said. he wanted to get out of the house. He. had a lot of West Virginia family. members down there and he wanted to get. out and go to go to work. No offense. >> You need to watch your mouth. You need. to watch your mouth, coach. All right. Safe travels into Tuscaloosa. Obviously, the weather's crazy. Thank you for.
taking the time and good luck to your. team. >> Thank you, man. Go Dogs. >> Hey, what's that coming down the track? Yeah, you know it. Ladies and Kirby. Smart Coach, >> a beast, dude. A beast of a coach. And. you talk about consistency, you know, feast or famine. It's like they. back-to-back SEC champions, but since. they haven't won a national championship. and haven't gotten to the national. championship, everybody just thinks. Kirby's lost it. Kir Kirby doesn't have. anymore. It's like they might have just. been brewing for the last couple years. And this seemingly, and I say seemingly.
just because we have no idea what any of. these teams are going to look like down. the road. We have no clue how teams are. going to perform every single week at. this stage. And even later in the. season, we don't know. Seemingly might. be his best team he's had. Oh, yeah. In. a while. and Gunner's playing better. than he's ever played. You put those two. together, that's quite a mix of uh. Georgia Bulldog football. And then you. go to the other side, Keelin Russell. >> Yeah, >> they're saying we haven't seen anybody. like him before. >> Could win the Heisman. >> just in football in general. We haven't. seen anything like what Keelin has the. capability of doing. It's a big one in.
Tuscaloosa. Happy the weather from Jim. Canour's big old weather brain will not. have much of an effect on the game. The. day leading up to it definitely. The. game though seems like maybe just a. little bit of wind, might be a little. bit of wet, but uh if they cover that. field, field should be fine. Fans are. going to be crazy. Environment's going. to be awesome. And kickoff time is still. scheduled for 6:30 Central time, 7:30. Eastern. You know, there's some things. that happen around ball. >> that are befuddling, bewildering. AJ,
you know what I'm talking about. >> I think I may have an idea where you're. going with this. >> Yeah, because there's some things that. happen. You just look at the screen, complete disgust, and you say, "What the. Chuck?". >> Chuck, what do we what the Chuck in this. week? Let's chuck and get into this. thing. >> I tell you what, they didn't disappoint. when it comes to what the Chuck plays. This first one, Pat, you, as you know, we've talked about it at Nauseium. I was. a special teams coach in college, special teams coach down at the.
University of Miami. One of the first. things that I learned as a special teams. coach and coaching punt pressure and. punt return was make sure the punter. does what? >> Punt the ball. >> Punts the ball. >> Yeah. Need to see eyes on a ball being. punted. >> So no matter how many you have up. So. this is right after a penalty. It was uh. fourth and four. They got a procedure. illegal formation. It went to fourth and. nine and then all of a sudden and Joe D. who we have a lot of respect for. Camellis. He's the special teams coach. at the Raiders. decides to drop three. guys from the line of scrimmage, show a.
light box, a five box. I've never seen a. chucking five box. Have you ever seen a. chucking five box? >> I've never seen a chucking five box. Here, look at this [ __ ] We've never. seen this before. Tone Digs' microphone. We like this. You're a punter, Matt. Risa. >> One of the best athletes to ever kick a. football, period. >> Just in history. Freak athlete. >> Four returners. >> Four returners. >> Four returners. >> What are they setting up, Pat? Well, I. mean, >> what do you. >> I think the only thing Joe D Camilis Joe.
>> There we go. >> Joe D Joe D Camilis been a special teams. coordinator for a long time. >> Oh boy. >> Great one. He was with the Dallas. Cowboys for a long time. He's bounced. around the league. We have a lot of. respect for Joe D. Camilis. I have a lot. of respect for Joe D. Camilis. He's now. a Las Vegas Raider special teams. coordinator. It goes from fourth and. four to fourth and nine after uh an. illegal procedure penalty where the. gunner was off the ball. Okay. Gunner. was supposed to be on the ball. Gunner. is supposed to be off the ball. In that. punt, Arisa hit one 65 yards in the sky.
Okay, so a re kick. This is it right. here. Procedure penalty cuz the gunner. wasn't on the line. Arisa, the ball was. snapped from the 35. Boom. That's a 65. yard ball from the line of scrimmage. 75. yard ball from where he punted at. Arisa. is an absolute weapon. Now, if you can. get a team to rekick, you do that. because all these guys are tired as. [ __ ] And can this guy hit another 65. yard bump? I think yes, Arisa could. But. we're going to have to see that. is. normally the decision that is made. I. don't know what he was thinking here on. a fourth. Four, it's in like fourth and.
20. Fourth and nine is still very. getable. Four returners back. The only. thing we were thinking is that he was. going to run the deception returner. Four returners across the back. >> Just like four returners all over. >> You imagine the coverage unit going down. there and going, "Which one of these. guys do we tackle?". >> All of them just Well, I I don't know. So maybe it was some super genius. decision if they were going to scatter. across the field and one of them was. going to end up with it and the other. three were going to fake it. There's a. chance that he was thinking like that. But a fiveman box.
>> and then show them what the ends the. guys doing crashing down. >> Go up to the top view of this one. I. think we have a top view of this one. >> You can see a bail out. >> Yeah. Here's the bail out of the three. Go ahead. >> There we go. We're going to show. pressure. >> Let's get the hell out of here. >> Go. Turn our back on everything. Boom. Boom. >> Jo back. They could have threw a Yeah. >> 21. Yeah. comes wide open if they want. >> Yeah, literally any. >> and then show it, Pat. >> Go back. Uh, Foxy, watch him crash down. Just absolutely crash down as if they're. trying to set up a return right now. That ball still has to fly through the.
sky. Say hi. Say hi. He crashes down to. make sure he gets this guy. What are we. doing? >> Say no edge. What do we say? No edge. >> No chance. And if you're the punt god, it's like no edge. Let me get some here. Big run. Takes a hit. Pops up. >> I've seen you do that. >> Amen. Thank you. I got out of bounds. before taking the hit. Thank you. No big. deal. >> Unchucking believable. >> I don't know if Arisa called this. himself because he saw them dip down or. if Tobe said, "Hey, if that guy crashes, go ahead and take that thing.". >> They obviously didn't get the chuck and.
call because if you're going to throw. guys out like that, then those edge guys. certainly whatever you thought the call. was, maybe they thought it was the call. from before cuz they did the same thing. on the first one. And now you don't have. any edge. You're just going to dive down. and and crash down. I mean, >> you don't have to use all your pump. protection guys to even block five guys. >> And there's Tob who's pumped up. I do. wonder if Arisa was just looking for. this or. >> they were giddy after this. They were. chucking giddy on the Kansas City. sideline. They were all like, "Yeah, Tob. was, you know, cuz Tob.
Hall of Famer.". >> Yeah, Hall of Famer. >> Especially. >> he was over there giggling. >> But for the Raiders, you can't help BUT. JUST SAY, "WHAT THE SHUCK?". >> We think Joe Dillis will get it fixed. and figured out. But man, a punch out on. a kickoff return, a pin on the one, and. then what we think was a live audible by. Arisa to pick up a first down. >> that makes you go, "What the chalk to. the Raiders, but also, hey, good. chucking [ __ ] from the Kansas City.". >> And this gave me Chuck and Aida right.
here. This freaking sequence. >> Chuck and Aida. You had a. >> Oh, it's whenever I. >> n heartburn, >> but. >> the go. You got too much. >> Oh, the acid reflux. You know, you got. some gravy, Sunday gravy, got too much. stuff in it. >> Yeah, it happened to Tony. >> Hey, so they got third and two right on. the two yard line. >> Everybody in the world's thinking what. Chuck and plays coming from. Philadelphia, guys. >> Tushbush. >> Tush push. >> Where the Chuck is the tush bush?
>> Last year, what' we look up? They did. 30ome, right? Cuz we're saying, "Hey, Jason Kelsey, right? Ever since Jason. Kelsey, we can't run the chuck and tush. push anymore because we don't have that. goddamn animal, you know, moving guys. out of there. >> They did they did it last year at a 60%. clip. >> So, here we go. We're going to run a. little one back power. >> The ball gets blown up. All right. >> Bad timing. You guys documented this. The guard hits it. Luckily, Jaylen held. on to this ball. Now, they got fourth. and two. And I can't chuck and believe. this call. Everybody else, stop this.
chucking film. everybody else in the. world. Like I go back to coaching last. year at Chuck in Baltimore, right? And I. never once, okay, Donnie DeLlesio, our. secondary coach I worked with, double D, good pyison from Youngstown, it's always. bunch routes, 2 by two, 3x one, motion, shift, pick route, Andy Reed, sprint. right option, shovel pass. >> Okay. Hey, let's let's line up in a nice. little far gun 3x one. All right, drop.
back and give me three little individual. routes. Nothing to it, RIGHT? >> WHAT the. is going on in Philly? >> And then these guys go, >> guess what happens after this? Incomplete. Fourth down again. No Chuck. and Tushbush. Now they're driving down. the field. >> They're up, mind you, up 10, right? Fourth down. >> Right after that, >> this is the drive after. Okay, that. stop. Here we go. >> Third and 10 here. Third and 10. >> Okay, they're running a little C. Go.
back. What chucking defense we running. here? Fangio Paison. We're going to get another swing route. with nobody in the freaking flat. You. got Cooper over here. He's jumping. >> And now this guy. AND WHAT THE JESUS. [ __ ] CHRIST? ARE you freaking Santa me? >> Look. I guarantee he got rung up by the league. on that. >> It's a good hit. I mean, he is kind of catapulting helmet.
to helmet there out of bounds. >> I mean, we all would have celebrated. this 30 years ago, but in today's ball, you can't chuck and do that, Jones. >> Wake the chuck up. >> Jesus, wake the chuck up. So, that's. another F. They got the first down. Nobody covered the flat. Kairen Williams. 15 more yards. They go on to score here. >> and then we can't move the ball. They. score again and they lose this Chuck in. game. They should have won this game. They were on the one. You can't go. chucking gangster on this [ __ ].
>> He just checked gangster. He went rogue. It's like pass rushes. Okay, I'll go get. a sack. And it's first 10. That's a run. You can't get a sack on a chucking. >> run play. >> Yeah. Yeah, I understand. >> And then I Okay, I'm going to knock the. living. Okay, great. >> That makes you go. >> THAT'S LIKE THAT. >> WHAT the Chuck? >> All right. Do we have any other What the. Oh, no. >> This is beautiful. This is [ __ ]. beautiful.
I mean, we got us a 3x one open set. here, right? >> Uhhuh. >> The situation. It's second nine, high. red zone, 25 yd line, right? >> Who's on the hash for the New York. Giants here? >> Who's on the chucking hash? This left. What jersey number is that? >> That's number one. >> That's number one. Okay, Ty. He's a. what? >> He's a chucking dude. He's a chucking. dude. He's a chucking wide receiver. >> He's not a tight end. >> No, >> he's not a chucking running back. Okay,
so we got a little split safe. >> Stop. >> Oh, see you. We got a chucking problem. right here. If you're in a chuck and. press box right now and you're Matt. Naggie and the offensive Greg Roman up. there, they're chucking going, "We got. these chucking sons of [ __ ] here.". >> Yes, they do. Yes, they do. >> You know why? Why? cuz they got a Mike. linebacker covering a wide receiver. One. of the best wide receivers in the. Chucking NFL one-on-one down the pipe. >> Didn't wall him very well, huh? >> Wall him is that.
>> corner based on Scataboo down here at. one. That's the thing. They want. Scatteraboo at one. Yeah, that's a great. matchup situation. You better make a. check there, Chuck. >> AJ, what are you doing there whenever. you see Malik Neighbors right across. from you? >> Well, that's the thing. I'm looking to. my safety. I'm saying you better be. high. I I will be low and inside, buddy, but you better be high on here. AJ, when. we played split safety defense, they're. disguised a little bit. And we had, you. know, a problem at three, right on the. light mic linebacker. That's the guy. we're protecting. There's a call we call. mini. And all of a sudden, we lock the.
corner up, all right, on this outside. guy. You don't have to jam a running. back. And then we play three over two. You heard to coach Sab talking about. cover seven. Three over two, right? So. we can protect the mic. So if this guy. goes vertical, he ends up belonging to. the safety. All right. And then the mic. can come off on on number two running a. drive route. >> 21 here is uh got his eyes on the wrong. two guys. We're thinking he should have. bumped that inside to where Malik. Neighbors is the actual. >> and he's running to a half the half. landmark is chucking two yards inside.
the hash or excuse me two yards inside. the numbers. It isn't on the top of the. numbers. And then who are you gonna go? You're gonna get over the top of. Scataboo because you want to go get a. Chuck and helmet down your face and have. him run through your face as a safety. >> So what you're saying watching this. Arizona Cardinal defense, YOU SAID, "WHAT THE. >> It happened twice.". >> No. >> Well, let me show you. >> There's another one. >> Two seconds here. >> Really? We don't have that. >> Foxy said, "Yeah, right.". >> Okay. Later on, they put a tight end at.
three and they said, "Okay, we're good. We got number one. Same spot. We're. good. We're chucking good. Let the let. the play call. Let's go." Guess what. happened? Tutty. >> can't have it. >> Chuck and Todds. >> MAKES YOU SAY, "WHAT the Chuck?". >> I love that. Congrats, Chuck. That's. another This will become a very fun. time. Uh kind of breaking that down. Speaking of fun time, NBA is doing uh. college games this preseason. You see. this? >> Oh, yeah. Pretty cool. >> Last night, Tyrese Hallebertton and the.
Pacers were back in his college alum, Iowa State, in his first action in 472. days or something like that. How many. days has it come in? >> Uh, yeah, 472. >> 472 days. Tyrese Hallebertton played in. front of his college crowd in a. preseason game for the Pacers against. Minnesota. He uh got back into the. field. We saw a warm-up where he didn't. miss for like 20 minutes. I know this is. a huge day for him. I'm happy they got. to do it back at his college because of. how much love he has for the Cyclones. Joining us now to tell us a little bit. more about it, about how he feels, how.
he felt, and what it was like to go back. to college, if you will. Ladies and. gentlemen, Tyrese Halleberty, >> how you doing, man? >> I'm good. I'm good. How's everybody. doing? >> Life is great over here. Uh, do so the. 22 jersey, is that for sale now or what? What happens? >> No, no, it was a spur-of the- moment. thing. I have it in my in my suitcase. I. haven't unpacked yet, so I got to figure. out what to do with it. Oh, we would. love that thing autographed in here. We. would love that. I don't want to put too. much pressure on you. Or maybe we uh.
>> uh maybe you just hang it up at the. house because if it was a legendary. evening, can you tell me a little bit. about the emotions last night? First. time playing actual basketball even. though it's a preseason game in 472 days. and doing it in your college arena. Can. you just talk about how you felt going. in, how you felt coming out of it? >> Yeah. No, I felt good going in, feel. good coming out. You know, it's just. exciting to be back on the floor. Obviously, playing in Ames is special. for me. I almost almost teared up at. half court on my Tai Schmidt stuff. Uh. but I I fought that as much as I could.
and just uh you know had had fun with. it. It was fun to be back at uh back. home at Iowa State and I think the fans. enjoyed it too. You know the cool thing. about Iowa is there's no professional. sports team. So I think that's a lot of. people's first, you know, NBA. experience, stuff like that. So I think. that's special for everybody. >> How'd you feel? We saw the warm-up and. we saw your first make. I think you go. for seven points, six assists or six. points, seven assists in one half of. action. What was it like getting back. out there against an NBA opponent? >> Yeah, it was good, bro. You know, I. think when you miss some time, you know,
it it's like you're in your adrenaline. flowing coming back. It's like you're. playing so fast. Like felt like I was. like a rookie again. I was like telling. myself like slow the [ __ ] I got to slow. down, bro. I was going so fast. Uh but. you know, I think it's good. That's what. the preseason's for. I think it'll help. me get prepared for game one, which I. think is exciting. >> AJ has a question for you. Tyrese. >> Yeah, I guess mentally like how has it. been coming back from this Achilles? Like are you are you thinking about it. like when you're out there? Like how has. that been throughout this super long. process? I would imagine it felt great.
to get out there and have some real. action. But I guess mentally, where are. you at with your injury? >> No, I feel great, man. Uh moving feels. great. Uh you know, I think that's the. exciting part about being back is uh you. know, I've had so much time to prepare. myself for this moment and my body feels. good. I think I think the my opponents. and are a little like more worried than. I am, you know, and my teammates and the. staff. Like last night I was bringing. the ball up full court and aunt was. guarding me full court and he was like, "You feel good? You foot good." While I. was while he was guarding me full court.
Uh but I think that's just the fun part. about it and u you know I'm just excited. to be back. >> How many preseason games do you guys. have? >> We have four. We play four. >> Okay. So these are huge for you I assume. in the process of getting back. >> Yeah. Yeah. Just getting my win back, bro. all those things. So, I think that. that's when you get hurt, you appreciate. the little things more. Preseason's. usually a drag, but uh I'm enjoying just. being on the floor again. >> You look great. Uh but you were feeling. a little bit like Halle Ber last night. while you're on the board.
>> Yo, that f that those first four. minutes, I was dying for a timeout. I. was like cuz the you know, Timberwolves, they got LaMelo, they play fast, too. And LaMelo came up to me at the free. throw line was like, I'm tired as hell. So, I know you're tired. I was like, can. we both can we just agree to both slow. down a little bit? Uh cuz I was dying. out there, but I'll be good once game. one gets here. >> We believe in you. And I like that. Carile system is you are going to be. running and it is a uh show. I don't.
know if you'd ever be able to be in good. enough shape for that coming off of the. break that you just did, but there's. been others that have had success post. Achilles. Go ahead, Con man. >> Yeah, Tyrese, you said it 472 days. So, congrats on that coming back. But going. into the game, did you reach out to. Jason Tatum or Kevin Durant even who you. played on Team USA with just asking. about like, hey, what should I expect. here as far as how my leg feels and just. kind of the emotions and feelings going. into it? >> Yeah, I didn't really talk to those guys. before, but uh Jason text me after the.
game. We talked for a good while after. the game. Um, and I just kind of what I. just said like, "Man, I feel like I'm. playing so fast." And he was like, "Yeah, trust me, bro. feels like that. for a little bit, but it'll like once. you get out there and play a little. more, you'll be fine. I think the crazy. part is obviously he came back in the. middle of the year, so you know, there. was kind of like a not a rush, but you. know, I'm sure he wanted to get back to. the game slowing down again and being. who he is right away. Uh I'm fortunate. enough that I have the preseason to kind. of work out the kinks a little bit, but.
uh all those guys have been great for me. to talk to and Dante Devenenzo is going. through the same thing. uh with an. Achilles recovery him we talked after. the game and before the game too just. seeing where he's at because obviously. I'm a little ahead of him. So yeah, the. Achilles thing is has has grown into a. little brotherhood which has been cool. >> Yeah, I'm happy to hear you got a. support system around you. Tatum came. back and didn't miss a beat. We are. assuming the same for you as we all have. uh Pacers interests because when you. guys are winning, >> the NBA is a lot more fun to talk about.
Yeah. >> Okay, Tyrese, we didn't have a lot of. NBA to talk about last year. Okay, now. we're all the way back, but I don't know. if like the networks know that. Are you. in? Are you in? Are you in? I'm in. Go. ahead, Tone. >> Yeah, Tyrese, I was just looking at this. at New Orleans game one not on national. TV. Is it I think it's on Tuby maybe. here. That's why you're in. I'm in. Zone. >> Oh, I'm in. Yeah, too. >> Are you in? >> Also on Home Shopping Network if you get. that as well. What's going on with that?
Are you guys playing on Christmas E? What is their disrespect for the. >> What is this all about? I know you. probably talked about this before and. we've talked about it. I don't like it. Uh game seven on pace to have 50 hasn't. played since. We love New Orleans. We're. just down there. Good luck. That's on. the zone. That's a smack in the mouth. You feel that way as well or what are. your thoughts on how this whole season's. about to unfold with your return? >> Uh I don't I I mean we just got to play. who's in front of us, you know? It'll be. it'll be fun. We haven't won in New.
Orleans in like five years. So, we're. not gonna act like. >> can't lose on the zone. >> We're not gonna act like it's a walk in. the park. And New Orleans a good team. And I'm I don't want to give them any. more bulletin board material than I've. already given them. I'm sure they've. showed. >> anything I've said in the last six. months. I'm sure they've showed it a. hundred times. So, I'm looking forward. to going back to New Orleans. >> Yeah. But I think all you were saying is. we're on the zone is my I mean, >> if a tree falls, you know, >> that's what they're saying. But I'm in.
Are you in? >> No. >> You're not in the zone? >> No, I'm not in the zone. >> AJ, are you in the zone? >> Yeah, I think I'm in. >> I'm definitely cuz the Pacers are. playing on here. >> I I'll follow the game on the app just. like, oh, two points. There you go. >> You're not going to see his first actual. two points. They're just going to let it. be a stat line across your phone. >> I'll see it. I'm sure someone's going to. tweet out the clip of him scoring his. first two points back. So, I'll see it. there. Oh, so you're going to be in the. zone by proxy of somebody else. >> Sure. >> I'm going to be in the zone. I've.
decided. >> You need to watch the game, Connor. Watch the game. >> I signed up to watch your game. I will. cancel immediately. How many of the the. games on there do you have? Do you know? >> I think any every game that's not on. national TV, which I'm sure. >> 82 games. >> Yeah, 82. >> What a bunch of. >> It's like every single game the whole. year. So look what about 82 games on the. zone. >> So they're going to be auto paymenting. me for the entirety of the NBA season.
>> Watch it at his bar. >> At his bar. Yeah, he's got a bar coming. together in the city. Obviously love. that. >> Can't wait. >> You got to get the zone in that bar. That's kind of. >> the zone will be in Varsity Social Club. for sure. >> Okay. All right. So if you want to be in. the zone, you got to go to Varsity. Social Club, which I certainly knew the. name of that. You can be in Done at your house. You. can be at Done on the go on your phone. I'm sure. >> I don't even think they have a streaming. app. >> Do they? We were on Done at one point.
>> They do. Uses it for uh football cuz. he's still a Canadian resident or. whatever. >> So, we can do it on our phone. We can. watch Tyrese's return after game seven. Achilles tear when he was on pace finals. game seven Achilles tear. He was on pace. to have 50. We can watch on our phone in. the zone. >> Zone. Yeah. >> Wow. So I don't even have to be home to. be in the zone because I can watch it on. my phone. Wow. >> Feels like it's almost an honor to be in. there now as opposed to on actual.
national tele. Congratulations, man. >> For sure. Tyrese, >> this guy is a superstar. This guy's a. superstar. Looks the part for sure. Coach Pagano has a question for you, Tyrese. >> Man, does he look the part. Hey, Hie. Good to see you back out there. What's. up, coach? >> Um, you looked awesome. I can't imagine. how good that felt to be back with your. guys and back on the court. I know you. battled through the uh rehab of the. Achilles. Um you also battled through. some other things. I know you were on. some took some hits on social media.
shring something, some steroids, this. that and the other kind of got blown up. I'm looking at you last night though. like it looks like you put on 10 12. pounds of muscle and got and I'm making. light of the other thing along with the. uh Achilles rehab. Did you hit that. weight room pretty hard too cuz you look. jacked out there. >> Yeah. Hey coach, I appreciate that, man. I uh I had a lot of time on my hands, especially early, you know, cuz you're. not doing as much stuff with your legs. You know, the early parts to Achilles.
rehab is just trying to put some weight. on it, do some calf raises, BFR, and. stuff like that. So, a lot of upper. body, especially early. I was like, my. goal going into the year when I got. hurt, I was like, I got hurt game seven, I was like 180 lbs and I was like, how. do I get to come back around 200? And. then shingles blew me up. I was like 220. after shingle, so I'd get that back. down. So I'm like 205 right now. So my. goal is to play, you know, majority of. the season around 200. So I feel great.
and uh it's like fun if the strength. feels functional as well. Like I feel. better movement, keeping guys off me, all those things. So uh I appreciate. that, coach. I appreciate that. >> Absolutely. >> Yeah. Well, the way he described it on. the dry race board was certainly. different than how he landed to playing. with you. Uh he just wrote fatsoe to. jacked question, you know, and I I like. that he described it that way. >> But there was a lot of reasons why you. were in that position. You having to. battle an Achilles recovery and then. also shingles for an extended amount of.
time, not able to sweat for a bit to get. back on the court. I could see the. emotion. I could feel the emotion. And. could you sense it in the building? Ty. has the last question for you here. Yeah, Tyrese, obviously for you it's. probably a little bit more special, but. that environment last night, how much. different is that than like a typical. NBA game? And like post game, like what. did your teammates think? Did they say. like, "Wow, you weren't kidding, Tyrese. Like, this place is as big of a [ __ ]. hole as you always said it.". >> Wow.
>> Ty, Ty, >> I had to sneak that in there. Actually, it that was really cool watching you. play there last night. It was. >> appreciate that, Ty. I will uh I'll get. to the answer to the question, but it. was it was also what did what did your. guys think when you were like, "Man, Kimick is the greatest place I've ever. been.". >> I didn't say that. Stop it. >> And all that all that all them tears for. a L. All them tears for a L. >> We beat you guys this year, pal. So, I. don't know what the [ __ ] you're tripping.
about. >> You did. You did. You did. I'm I'm happy. for you, man. I'm happy for you for. real. >> Did you get choked up when you were. talking to the crowd cuz you started. speed talking there real quick? You felt. like you wanted to get out of it, but. you also wanted to show your respect. Can we go uh turn the volume up on this. on the on the video? Hell yeah. Here we. go. Good speech from Tyrese last night. >> Yeah, you got a little emotional right. there.
>> Cyclone. >> What's he supposed to say? Power. >> Hey guys, we're so thankful that you. guys came. game. It's been 472 days. since I played a game of basketball. I. wouldn't want to do anywhere else except. my second home. I love you guys so much. Iowa State so special to me. Appreciate. the patience organization, Timberwolves. organization making this happen. Let's. have some fun. Peace. Appreciate you. guys. >> Great speech. Great speech. Tyrese. >> powered through. I didn't want to go I. didn't want to be long-winded. I didn't. want to be long- winded. I I definitely. was uh when we c when we ran out, it was.
so loud. It was like it like brought me. back to like you know college, Iowa. State, KU like it was crazy in there. Um. and then like to answer your question. Ty, but like the preseason like NBA. games especially the preseason can kind. of be like fans are like man do we. really want to go? Like I know people. paying their hard earned money and like. you know the starters only play so many. so much time and stuff like that and um. I mean it was it was sold out in there. It was unbelievable. Uh the student. section was full. It was you know. everybody was like that was crazy. I've.
had a lot of people be like that should. be a thing. That should be a thing more. common where you know like cuz you know. as teams they get to pick where they. play their preseason games. So you saw. like the Nuggets played at Colorado, the. Warriors and the Clippers played at. Hawaii. Uh we played at Iowa State. Like. I think it's a cool thing. It's exciting. for for schools to have that and I would. love to do that more. I told Aunt cuz. you know Aunt obviously the Timberwolves. had to want to go to Ames and agree to. it and the only way that would happen is. if Aunt's my boy and said of course he.
would do it and I told him I said I was. like hey bro if you want to go to. Georgia I'll go to Georgia like we can. go if you want to go to Athens I'll go. Uh but I think that's the cool part. about it and people had a lot of fun. with it cuz it's just a different. environment. The preseason can kind of. be a drag. So thought everybody had a. lot of fun. >> I think it's brilliant and I think the. NFL should think about it. >> Yeah. for some have some of their, you. know, like a homecoming type preseason. game if they're going to play at least a. half or at least a quarter and he could. promise that you can drum up some real. interest in real environments in places. that don't normally get it. I thought.
last night was brilliant. I I thought it. was genius, especially you bought out. the student section. Hey, way to go. Thank you for being there for the lads. Was a smart decision, but it did. It. felt like an event as opposed to just a. preseason game that I would never pay. attention to and we all paid attention. to it because it was your return, but. also I think the environment certainly. helps. Brilliant stuff out of you guys. Congratulations on returning and we. can't wait to watch and follow along all. season long no matter how the Pacers are. doing. >> We'll be doing good. Appreciate you. guys. >> You're the best. Ladies and gentlemen, that's Tyrese Albert.
>> Yeah, Tyrese. >> He heard what I was saying there. >> Mhm. >> We'll certainly be paying attention. >> Oh yeah. >> The entirety of the year, AJ, no matter. what. >> Yeah. Does the zone have a big package. of NBA games? >> Yeah, they took over for uh the bankrupt. FanDuel TV. >> Oh god. uh that that went into. bankruptcy, I do believe. >> Uh had some new people in charge there. for the last couple years. That thing. ends up down into bankruptcy and then. now the zone has picked that up. Done. has been very good for sports globally, American sports globally. They had NFL.
packages globally for a long time, obviously the boxing and the fighting. packages. They have the soccer packages. So Don has been committed to sport for a. long time. Saw the opening with the. local regional uh NBA coverage falling. make a bid for that. That is now all the. local games on the zone. So, I'm in. >> Yeah, they got I'm in for Canelo and. Billy. >> in the zone. >> Yeah, I'll watch it then. I ain't. watching a Wednesday Pacers game. I I'm. just not doing it. >> Well, I am. I'm sporting. >> Sure. >> I will watch tonight on Amazon Prime as.
the Dallas Cowboys host the Tampa Bay. Buccaneers. This used to be a segment we. really look forward to. No. >> What do you mean? >> Used to. >> Can you put it up, please? Okay. >> Oh my gosh. What? >> I don't like it one bit. >> Coach P for piss. >> Yeah, I don't like it one. >> poop bit. I don't I don't love it. I. don't appreciate it. And I know that we. have a long season left. >> We have a long season left.
>> and Chuck needs to get going quick. >> The Cowboys are favored by eight and a. half at home with Jaylen Daniels and the. Tampa Bay Buccaneers coming to town. We. won't put as much stock into your picks. until that first number gets a little. bit bigger than the second num. Now nine. and a half is the spread. Okay, I just. got update that it has moved from 8 and. 1/2 to 9 and 1/2 since the show has. started. The Cowboys become bigger. favorites. >> at 9 and a half for tonight. Chuck, you.
have about four minutes to uh kind of. lay out your case and make your pick. I'm excited to see which way you go so I. CAN FADE IT. >> I'M CHUCK THE COACH. I'll ride alongside. you. What do you like? How do you like. it, coach? >> You know what? Um, rookie quarterback, second start on the road. We've been. through all these numbers. Herby did a. great job of of documenting all this. stuff and talking about all these. numbers. You got a really good offense. versus a really good defense. Todd BS. can coach defense and he's got those. guys playing at a high level. These.
numbers uh project that obviously. So, you know, can they're not going to be. able to run the football on Todd. Can. they get him in enough third and longs? And can they get pressure? That's been. the the one thing that's been missing. from this uh from this Tampa Bay defense. is pressure. They're also missing a. safety. And you look at Tampa's offense. versus Dallas defense, they've both. struggled. Um again, you got a rookie. quarterback on the road, loud. environment. Communication is going to. be, you know, uh very very important. you know, can Christian Parker and this.
Dallas defense, can they do enough to. stop the run? Get these guys, you know, uh, in in third long play tight. You got. Joey Porter, right? You got Don Bland, you got Malik Hooker in the back, you. got some some dogs up front, Quinnon. Williams in the middle. Um, stop the. run, play tight coverage, make this guy. throw from the well, and and you should. be able to cover that number tonight if. you're if you're Dallas. YOU SHOULD. >> OH, YOU KNOW, >> really. >> I I think you should be able, you know,
to to cover that number. Um, some good. good m like can Parish and McCullum two. corners for Tampa Bay. Watch that. matchup on their outside guys on CD. >> I got to believe that, you know, Todd's. not going to sit there and double one. guy and leave the other guy alone and. allow 17 catches. I gota I got He's He's. a way smarter football coach than that. So. >> soft coverage. >> Um. >> what are you saying? Demo Ryan isn't a. smart football coach.
>> He's going. >> They just found They just found the. matchup and they executed and the guy. was able to go for 17 and and I Yeah, I. need to get off this freaking schnide. >> Okay, so who you taking? >> Taking Dallas and I'm laying the points. I just think that. >> baby. >> 0 and4 they've play they've been one. scorecore games Dallas has a fast start. and they get this thing rolling and I. don't know if there'll be enough gauze. to get the bleeding stop. >> nine and a half is the spread currently.
it was eight and a half to begin the day. it's leaning even more in the Dallas. Cowboys favor Chuck Pagano says I'm with. the boys AJ do you love it or hate it. what Chuck Pagano has done here. >> uh I love it but I figure I you know I. made my pick at the beginning of the. show when it was eight and a half so I I. should be able to get the Cowboys at. eight and a half. >> Nope, that is not the case. We'll be. making our official picks digitally. after this show ends and we send to Big. Day with Big Shrigs breaking down all of. the big plays. >> Also, breaking news. Um, special.
announcement. There's an update to the. field pass situation uh with the NFL and. with college for us on the sidelines. Uh. stay tuned to our social media channels. for more over the next hour. We'll make. our official picks. Week five of the NFL. season kicks off tonight in Dallas. We. are so incredibly lucky that we get to. do this. Be a friend. Tell a friend. something nice. It might change their. life. BIG SHREKES, GO ON AND TAKE IT. AWAY. >> SEE? Well done. Jeez. >> You think he watches the end?
>> Oh yeah. No fan interference there. That. was out of the park. >> I [ __ ] hate that that happened. That's good, Ray. That's good hosting. out of you. We had to bring that up. because we didn't get a chance to chat. about it there in the first two hours of. the show, which we certainly should. have. >> Um, I don't like what they expect from. people that pay a lot of money to sit. front row. >> at baseball games to do. Is there signs. there like, hey, don't if if I'm a. little boozed up and I paid how much. money to sit there front row of the I'm. trying to get a baseball. That that's.
why I'm sitting. I'm hoping for a. baseball. So for somebody to just reach. their hands out and get it and then to. get perp walked out of there and then. basically blamed for whatever happens. that's a crazy expectation for fans that. are paying a lot of money to not do. Now. I know there had been a lot of different. situations. I think Yankees fans have. reached down into gloves before and. pulled it out. I think you can't have. that happen. And I know the Bartman. thing happened uh in Chicago and there's. been a lot of ruling about fan.
interference, but I think it's a really. high expectation for people that are in. a state of euphoria to tell them, "You. better keep your hands completely behind. this wall whenever you're seating right. on top of the wall." Cuz my natural. reaction if a ball was flying to me, especially for my team in that moment. would be to put my hands out to try and. catch that. >> Turns out they make the right call, I. think, in it all with uh it ended up. being a double. The guy would not have. caught it. One gets in. Guy goes to. second base. Next batter strikes out. immediately. It is over. Then they walk.
this guy out of the building. Camera on. him like this [ __ ] basically ruined. the entire night. I just don't I don't. think that's a fair expectation of fans. in the moment of how they're supposed to. act, how they're not supposed to act. But I do think they got it right. Like. if that guy's hands weren't there, I. think it probably would have been a. double unless there was an air on an. overthrow, which I think if I'm a. Yankees fan, I can say, "Oh, we're just. 100% he's going to get that back." Not. against the Rays. >> They're a really good baseball team. >> They don't make any mistakes. So, he. probably would have got thrown out at. home actually. So, there's actually. benefit of the Yankees.
>> Okay. That's a Yankees fan. He's very. jaded about how the Yankees have done in. postseason play for the last 5 10 years. or whatever it is. But I like that they. made the common sense call of it would. have been a double. But I also don't. love that that doesn't count as a home. run. I I don't love that you're. expecting that guy not to do that in. real time. I don't know what the right. answer is as an on baseball fan, but if. I'm that guy who paid the amount of. money that he paid to sit front row in. that outfield and that [ __ ] home run. is coming right at me like that, I'm. going to stick my hands out every single. time. So to get escorted out, the.
expectation that was just a wild scene. That was an absolutely wild scene in my. eyes. Right call in the end. How should. I view this? >> No. Yeah, I mean it's it's not a homer, you know, like that as a baseball fan. like that's just part of the game. Those. are the rules. >> Do those guys know that? Hey, don't. reach out at all. Is there like signs in. front of them like, "Hey, if you you. cannot by any. >> cir in any circumstance stick your hand. out over top of this thing or it's going. to cause you're going to get ejected. from the game even no matter how much. you paid.". >> No, definitely not. I think you've just,
you know, if you've watched baseball. enough, you know that that's a a. possibility. And again, it probably is. in fine print on like the tickets or. something like that or when you go. through that long list of [ __ ] that. you're just skipping past when you buy. your tickets. It's definitely in there, but it should be a case-byase basis. Like you mentioned in the World Series a. couple years ago when the Yankees fans. are trying to rip the ball out of Mookie. Betts's glove. Like yeah, obviously. those [ __ ] should be thrown out and. I believe they got uh lifetime bans like. but like this is a case byase basis. This guy this guy's going off instinct. He's super excited. The Yankees are.
about to tie the game in an elimination. game in the sixth inning. Like. okay, you know, I mean, yeah, they don't. get a homer. Everyone's somewhat pissed. it is the right call, but to walk him. out and eject him from the game, like. that is [ __ ] So, I think it should. be a case-by case basis. But if anyone. any Yankees fan is bitching about that. this should have been a homer, like. they're wrong. You clearly see from the. side angle, it wasn't going to be a. homer. Um, so like I had no issue with. the call and it was one of those things. where it was just kind of like, you.
know, with the way the game and the. series had been going, like you you knew. that was going to happen. I I thought. maybe, hey, there's a chance that they. cuz they called it a home run on the. field obviously because it goes into the. crowd. It doesn't stay in the field of. play. Um but then when you see that side. angle, it's just so blatant. It's not. close. >> I like that they made the common sense. ruling. >> Yeah. >> I like every how this all went kicking. that guy out. I mean, there's what eight. hands in there. So, he just so happened. to be the one that ends up getting. ejected out of the game. I I think.
that's a bit of a great And did they. tell did everybody say in the stadium. about this guy as he's getting walked. out like, "Hey, he didn't ruin. anything.". >> I'm sure they [ __ ] on him and and hurl. death threats at him and stuff like. that. Like that's just the cost of doing. business, unfortunately. You know, it's. not right, but that's the way it goes. >> Yankees think Dober seems a little down. about baseball. >> No, not really. I mean, I I had honestly. like no reaction to it last night. That. like this is what I expect. They were. already down two games to none. Like. look at that. The proof is in the. pudding. Like you know, Aaron Boon is. good. He's good enough in the regular. season. Like he just can't. They don't.
win in the postseason. They just don't. Even if they won last night, they still. would have had to win two more games and. go back to Tampa and win again, which. they were never going to do. They didn't. have Judge the whole postseason. And. it's one of those things where like. there do need to be changes, but it'll. be rinse repeat. Everything will stay. the same. Uh so it kind of just it is. what it is. You enjoy March through, you. know, the end of September. You see who. you're playing in the postseason like. they they have always done this. They. look like world beaters, beat the [ __ ]. out of the Red Sox, and then they play a.
team who doesn't make any mistakes, doesn't have any like brand recognition. or like name players that anyone else. would recognize, but they just don't. make mistakes. They're just guys who go. out and play hard. And you know, in like. the first or second game of this series, the Yankees have five five errors. Like, you can't win a postseason game like. that. Like, you just can't [ __ ] do. that. And they continually do this year. in and year out. >> Nobody had ever done that, right? That's. the most errors. I believe. >> uh it was the most errors in a single. postseason game since the Yankees did it. in uh 1976.
>> 76. >> That's a long time. >> It's just tough because the expectation. was always like this team should win or. compete for a World Series every year. And like I don't the ownership group. like the Yankees are worth so much. money. They make so much money. Like I. think they're just content with that. It's like we'll go to the playoffs. Like. who gives a [ __ ] if we win the World. Series and now we might not be able to. watch them until you know 2028. So. >> raise the good news though. You know. what the good news is. >> Yeah. Well, we'll see. Buster only. basically said this this morning on Get. Up that, you know, like we're going to. be locked out next year. So, I wasn't. expecting that. You know, >> you know who's not locked out.
>> I'm not watching the [ __ ] Savannah. Bananas. They I'm not doing it. >> College baseball. Some. >> hate boy. >> College baseball would be great. >> They're Omaha. >> Oh, >> is that Hut? >> Savannah Banana baseball. >> Think of how long the college World. Series ended, though. Like, how long. ago? Like, yeah, that's a massive gap. >> I'm just saying we still there's still. baseball for you. >> It's not the same. I don't [ __ ] care. >> No, I know you don't. It's not the same. though. It's not the same. >> No, we're going to watch some college. baseball next year. Get our baseball. scratch, you know, and. >> Oh, yeah.
>> And we're definitely going to watch. Savannah Banana baseball. >> Speak for yourself. >> Players are allowed to go play. internationally. Is that right? The. provision. >> other pro leagues. Yeah. >> So, they. >> So, if Savannah goes to Canada, we can. do it. >> No, I think. >> it's Mickey Mouse. I think they said you. can't go play in a league where you it's. mandatory. They have to take your penis. out at least once a game. I don't think. they want their their athletes doing. that. >> They've never done that. Savannah. bananas. I don't think they pretty sure. that never. >> Didn't the White Sox player who played. for the Bananas get tossed yesterday? Cuz he did that. He said it was a force.
He took his penis out in the sixth. inning. >> There's the umpire. This the Yankees. game here. >> That's hilarious. >> It's the dancing up. >> It's funny. >> Oh, I thought that. >> the dump if you will. >> Yeah, I [ __ ]. every time I see that. >> I think he got ejected. >> Look at them. They're like, "Fuck this. guy. This is enough. Enough of this. shit.". >> No, they're not. They were pumped about. I got. >> What are you getting ejected for? >> Exactly. I think he was doing a little. bit too much. I think they said Dan. another. >> said you can't be doing this. So the. Savannah Bananas great energy, great. baseball. Cannot wait to watch it all.
spring and summer next year. Let me know. how it goes to scratch our baseball. itch. And they did put a provision in. there. If there is a lockout to the. lads, you can definitely go do some. banana ball if you'd like to. >> If anyone goes and plays for the. Savannah Bananas and any pro player, they will not be welcomed back in the. clubhouse. They were in Boise summer. Sold that place out. >> Yeah, they sold they sold out the LSU. stadium. >> Crazy. >> Yeah, they're incredible. I'm a big. Jesse Cole fan and I love what they're. doing for sports as a whole. Getting. Young's involved and selling out a. stadium or an arena is obviously an.
incredible feat, but this is the. baseball that we have next year. Okay, Ty. So, you need to just buckle in. straight. You're gonna see Moonshot Taka. going to a Savannah banana baseball game. and he's gonna be hitting it literally. out of the entire stadium. >> No, he's gonna be playing in Japan and I. might tune into that. I might, you know, watch uh the, you know, the Swallows. play. I assume that's the. >> What about the Sharks? >> The Giants. >> The Giants. >> No, no, Giants. Whoever the hell it is. >> last night, it wasn't just Savannah.
Banana baseball and Yankees baseball. We. uh put the graphic up. The Guardians, congratulations. as they're up 2-1 over. the White Socks. Uh the Brewers get a. huge win over the Padres's. They move. on. We're staring down uh Miz in real. prime time action going forward. This. Brewers team is for real. Feels like. Skipper Murphy's got a squad and then. the Dodgers beat the Braves. We. appreciate Chris Sale and how uh his. season went and how the Braves went. Dodgers seem inevitable and uh who knows. how long that can last with everything. going on investigation wise. Yeah, we'll.
see because the Dodgers and the Brewers. now play each other and the game one. probables are the Miz verse TKO and. that's kind of been the the Brewers uh I. don't want to say they're Achilles heel. but last year they were unbelievable all. year and then they just got absolutely. starched by the Dodgers when they played. him in the playoffs. So it's kind of. like they they had the best record in. the majors this year. So they were the. best team but like you said the the. Dodgers are kind of just inevitable. just too deep, too good, too much. talent. So, we'll see though. If anyone.
can beat them, it is the Brewers. And. then that is likely looking like uh I. mean, anything can happen obviously cuz. the Rays are very, very, very good. But. it feels like whoever wins that series. is probably going to win the World. Series. >> today. 8:00 on TBS. Guardians and White. Socks as we continue to power forward in. MLB postseason play. Sorry to the Yanks. and their fans. >> You shouldn't be. >> I'm sorry to you. you you love baseball. >> They got what they deserve, though. That's kind of the That's the way it. goes. You can't you can't just think.
that you can buck every trend because. it's the postseason now and things will. change. That's not the way it works. >> And I'm happy Dober's not down about it. >> It's seriously not like I I mean it. stinks that I'm more so worried that I'm. not going to be able to watch them all. next year cuz like that fills a lot of. my time in the summer. And when you have. [ __ ] three kids under four, like. sometimes you need something where you. can just like go by yourself and like. not listen to anything but like a ball. hitting a bat a couple time like kind of.
keeps your sanity a little bit. And to. not have that like that um that stinks. big time. So we'll see. Hopefully they. get it figured out. Buster only knows. something I don't know. So uh. >> that's Buster. >> Yeah, we're not going to have baseball. next year. >> Maybe you just go back rewatch like the. 2007 season. >> That's not a bad idea. >> Start to finish when they won the World. Series. Oh, I like that. Have one of. your smart TVs. Just play it at night. when the game would be naturally. >> Might pick up a new hobby. We'll see. I. don't know. >> Banana ball. >> Mountain woodworking. >> Mountain climbing. >> Mountain climbing.
>> Get in. >> Not a chance. >> My dad texted me. >> Pickle ball. >> Oh, yes. >> My dad texted me and he said, um, >> let me see here. >> He's probably summoned all the highest. mountains. >> Uh, >> damn near. The way Tim goes about. hunting deer certainly feels like he. likes showcasing his ability to cascade. I don't know if that's a proper word. >> Uh I climbed the Aleni mountains so. there done that. >> Boom. >> No big deal. >> Check that off. >> So I am mount climber kind of now that I. think about I don't remember a single. moment of that. That might have been.
where we were hunting when he said we. got to go to two hollers over. >> where. that's where all the deer are. Okay. Two. two hollers over. So, we gota go up, down, up, down, and then that's where. all the deer are. Okay. I didn't see a. gross overpopulation of deer in that. particular hauler versus the other. haulers that were there. Just felt like. a nice 3:30, 4 a.m. hike with the boys. Tim McAfee was looking for. And now that. is maybe why I'm looking to get back out. there to scale these mountains because. the good old days and then get if you.
successfully kill a deer, >> you know where you're coming. >> Yeah. You got to come back with that. thick just like what uh Chuck said, you. get a little content, you got to go. ahead and bring that son [ __ ] all the. way back out of there. And this is uh in. the state parks in the forest, you can't. have any hang that that is a rope around. neck. >> Yep. >> Over shoulder. We're walking that thing, hiking that thing, climbing that thing. out. >> That ain't nothing to sneeze at either. Just looked up. That's almost a mile. high.
>> 5,280 ft. >> There you go. >> Climbed every one of them. >> with ride a horse in. Could I Could I. ride a horse in and hunt and then, you. know, throw it on the back of my horse? >> Yeah, I think you could. I don't know. why Tim didn't do that for us now that I. think back about it. Run a horse or two, you know, let us kind of get bucked. while we're looking for our bucks. You. know, >> instead of the rope, can you gut that. thing and then put it the head over top? You wear it like a backpack? >> You definitely field dress that thing. live in real time so that you are. gutting that thing in the in the woods. there. And I guess you could What? Reverend.
>> Revenant. Just like that. >> Reverend we put on there. >> They slept in that horse. A little. dangerous, you know, as you're walking. through True Hunting Land. >> True. >> Looking like a deer. >> Well, if you then you put you put your. you put your orange hunting jacket over. top of the deer. >> Oh, in the outside. >> Like, holy [ __ ] there's a deer. >> A lot of these new school dudes use uh. >> He likes that venison. >> They're using ebikes in the woods. >> Yeah. >> No, they're not. That's [ __ ] genius. That's what they're made for. >> Getting deer out of here. >> Mhm. >> Venison's not terrible. Taylor has some. new um little recipes he's been debuting.
here in the office in the Thunderdome. Had some venison sticks the other day. He felt really excited about. >> little jerky. >> and he should. >> had some jerky dry age the other one. >> Gun season coming up, right? >> Yeah. >> I think he was already out there. I think he won out. >> bow and arrow probably. >> Yeah, I think he went out two days. >> Does he do muzzle loader and all? Does. he do all of it? >> Used to do muzzle loader. Now he's just. bow and rifle. You know, he's got a. hunting place down in southern Indiana. >> Oh, I've seen pics. He's He's making. that thing sweet. >> Yeah. And all the Amish people, I I.
don't know. They They are good shooters. The Amish. I don't know if they have the. modern state-of-the-art guns that Tim. Tim's about to go. Just he's got a. little trail cam out there. Look at this. one. Got an eight point, a 10point. coming. It's like, >> yeah, >> I I don't think any of these Amish guys. have killed any of these deer for what, hundred years down here. I kind of ripe. for the picket. So, Tim's going to go. live in the woods down there. I don't. know how many tags he's getting. Uh but. I think he's going to be waiting on a I. think he wants a trophy. >> Pick that up. Maybe you get into hunting. with Tim. Tim will take you down there. Two and a half hour drive down there.
>> Nah, I did it a couple times growing up. That's not really my thing. I don't. really like just waiting around. Now, if. you give me a. >> No, Tim's tracking. We We don't wait. >> That's what I'm saying. I'm not doing. that. If you give me an Uzi and say. [ __ ] go hog wild, spray as many. bullets as you want, I'll consider it. >> Go hog hunting. >> Yeah, you could go up in a helicopter. I. would do that. >> They do use AR on like a Yeah. Like an. M6, you know, M16 or like a Gatlin gun. Yeah. >> I don't know. Oh yeah. >> I don't know. >> I'd [ __ ] do that for sure. >> I don't know if you're going to be able.
to do that. >> Um, what is this that you're showing me. here, Bruce? MLB put out a tweet that. says MLB has proposed returning to a 154. game regular season, best of seven. division series. An opponent selection. in wild card and division series. Starting in 2029, shortening the season. to a 154 game schedule would create a. standard weekly offday benefiting player. health and it would allow the addition. of up to eight more postseason games by. moving to a best of seven division. series format. Beginning in 2027, higher. seated clubs in the wild card and. division series would select their.
opponents. >> That's pretty sweet. >> So, this is a part of the new CBA that. everybody's pitching. So, MLB th this is. you win the mob, you win Rome. So, now. we're in the time of, hey, this is what. we're offering. We don't know why it's. not being accepted. Happens to the NFL. Every time there's a CBA negotiation, the NFL will have their sources who have. microphones in front of them and they. will leak things to them and say, "This. is the offer we made." They'll withhold. a lot of the offer. They withhold a lot. of the things that are potentially on. the back end of it. But here's the. highlevel offer that we are making. We.
have no idea why the players won't. accept these. So then obviously the. public narrative gets into a point. These players are spoiled. These players. are brats. I would die to play in this. league. I would be lucky and thankful to. play in this league. They're lucky to. play in this league. And that is kind of. how it all gets going. But everything we. have heard from this particular. negotiation is that they are way off. Just completely way off. We don't. >> What's the biggest sticking point? Is. there like one or two biggest sticking. points? >> Siler cap, guaranteed money. >> I think that is. >> players say they absolutely no chance, right? >> That is the only sticking point.
>> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I assume all this other stuff players. like, cool, cool, cool, cool, >> whatever. >> Yeah, cuz that benefits the owners. Hey, we take away some regular season games. We can tell you, hey, you get an extra. kind of off day, but we have more. playoff games. That's where we make the. cash. >> Hey, listen. We're getting rid of. preseason games, but we're adding real. games. Yep. Not that's what the NFL did. and that's what the NFL has done. I'm. not saying regular season games or. preseason games, even though it kind of. feels like the season actually starts. whenever we get to the playoffs for. baseball, but. they're way off allegedly. And that's. what Buster said this morning. I didn't. hear the exact quote.
>> I just heard him basically say that. like, you know, the Yankees aren't going. to be able to sign anyone when the. lockout starts. So like, >> you just said it like matter of fact. >> Yeah. Casually. >> There's a lot of arguments the players. are going to make. Here's the payrolls. of the teams that are still alive in MLB. as we wait on the White Socks. Dodgers. 339 million, their second highest. payroll. Brewers 19th, White Sox 24th, Rays 28th, and the Guardians 30th. How. many teams are in the league? >> 30.
>> That's why the whole like competitive. balance thing is [ __ ] You throw it. out the window. >> So, it's going to be tough. >> Well, and it sounds like the salary cap, just from people coming on talking, it's. not so much salary cap as it is just. like, hey, you can't do deferred. payments anymore. Like, that's the. biggest thing. >> I think the word cap just can't be in. there. Yeah, >> I think. >> I mean could this go more than one. season if they're both who's going to. give in? >> MLB. >> will they. >> they should. >> cuz players it's different football. You. can't go we like we're locked out. We're.
not going to go play in the US XFL and. make similar money. These guys can go. play overseas somewhere. >> Not going to be making good baseball. >> Yeah. Not going to be making anywhere. near as money though. >> Talking about. >> Yeah. But they're not going to go broke. potentially is what we're saying. Like. the the NFL PA one. The NFL just banks. on the NFL players going broke and. needing to kind of break. That is that. is always the idea anytime there's a. lockout. I do like that the NFL and the. NFL PA have come together though. Do you. see this? JC Treader and Kamish coming. together to make one statement about the. celebrations happening in games,
rescending fines, changing the way they. operate. That's good news. Mhm. >> I think hearing that the NFL and the NFL. PA have come together on anything to. make a decision or conversation is good. for this next stage of uh the NFL PA NFL. relationship with JC Treader at the head. of it, former player. They basically. came out and said there was no real rule. about not being able to drink a drink. So, we kind of talked to the NFL. The. NFL said, "You're right. We will take. these back, but can we at least. reiterate what we don't want? We don't.
want violence. We don't want the use of. guns or weapons or gang related signs. We don't want to depict smoking or any. drug use. And we don't want any sexual. stuff happening on this. Got kids. watching out here. Got a lot of people. watching. We don't need to be letting. that thing swang or anything. We We need. to make sure our celebrations are what. they are. And I think if the NFL PA and. the NFL continue to work together, >> great news. >> Yeah. If you can do you can come. together on little things and hopefully. someday you can come together on some. bigger issues.
>> Yeah. I mean, this is a good gateway. into Hey, this. >> nothing about peeing like fake peeing on. anybody in that. >> be sexual in nature. >> I mean, I don't know. That's I think. that's subjective. If that's sexual in. nature, >> it's so hard to officiate. >> Well, you get down. >> What the. >> offensive pass interference? Not sexual. to me. >> Like, and then for the officials have to. come in there and try to decipher. Okay, is this sexual? Is it not? Is this a. drink? Is this the Why are we putting. that on him? >> I don't know. Yeah, >> cuz CD. Lamb tonight is going to when he's going.
to catch a big ball, right? And then he's going to drop the. ball, >> he going to do this, right? And he's. going to do this right here. Right. >> No, not the second one. >> No, he he does this one. This one. >> What is that? >> That's just that point. A point for a. first time. >> Don't be a [ __ ] old man. Okay, cuz. that's what you're acting like. >> I like uh Kamario Taylor. I don't know. if this is a new one. Yeah, this one. right here. And it's a good point for a. first down. Others are starting to do it. as well, but this could be,
>> you know, if if the refs really want to. get into it. Everything with a point, which is what the refs do when they call. first down. >> Oh, yeah. >> Right. That could be, especially if. they're jacked, that could be a little. bit of a bigger That's a rifle third off. six you got there. You know, you know. that that is any point. >> could potentially resemble a pistol. >> Yeah, you're right. So that I think a. lot of players are saying like what are. you doing? >> That's where the thumb comes in. >> You don't have the Yeah, that's where. you can't go here.
>> Yeah, but that's an old school gun. I I. mean there is. >> the new ones. >> Yeah, there's some 3D printed guns I'm. seeing on the internet, too. I don't. necessarily like what they have the. capability. >> Yeah, >> kind of scares me. >> Oh, and Chad Powers. >> Really? >> Mhm. It was pretty [ __ ] crazy. Yeah, that scares me to actual uh death, especially with the things that are said. sometimes by people. It's like, so wait, they can hide these things anywhere? >> Ghost guns. >> Metal detector, though. >> No. Yeah, >> it's plastic.
>> All right, we'll just bank on them. having a bad shot, I guess. >> Yeah, that's what we'll just bank on it. not being very accurate as we go. forward. I appreciate the NFL and the. NFL PA coming together. Brian McCarthy, NFL PR, he came out with a tweet saying, "A lot of people talking about the refs. and the flags and the flags and there. was 16 accepted penalties in one half of. football this season. So, it got us. pretty crazy." He's saying, "Hey, last. year there was more flags in the first. couple weeks and then it settled in at. by the end.". >> Great news.
>> This year more flags at the beginning. Let's assume it's going to settle in. But we have seen this before. These are. refs in the league trying to set. precedent on what the season's going to. be. Chuck is a guy that's been very. close with the officials over the last. few years. >> Yeah, 100%. And they have their rules, clarifications, points of emphasis every. year. And so we always see a big spike. in the preseason and there's no more, you know, only three preseason games. So. we're just seeing a bunch of this happen. in the first, you know, three to four. weeks of the NFL season. So yeah, it'll. it'll level out. Um they discuss this.
stuff all the time there. Obviously guys. get graded down for for calls that. shouldn't be made, flags that shouldn't. be thrown. take a deep breath. Let's. just make sure we're throwing it for the. right reason and uh I think uh you know. they'll find their footing. >> We should settle in. Two refs getting. suspended crazy. One for two games. Yeah. You know, because the way you. talked to Trey McBride and then. automatically wanting to get aggressive. with a player after getting bumped on a. football field whenever you were. standing close to the action, the NFL. said, "You can't be doing that. That.
can't be what it is." How do you think. this all ends up? because it feels like. what's setting up for is players and. refs and coaches and refs are not going. to be able to really discuss anything. without a flag being thrown. >> This has been going on forever, >> a long time. >> I mean, if people were right down there. listening to our headsets, way we talk. to each other as coaches, we've been. we've had some animated conversations. with these guys forever and it goes back. and forth. And just like the other. sports where, you know, hockey officials. or or or whatever, they get after each.
other and they're and it's good. fans. like it, but you just don't cross the. line, you know? And I think with the way. social media is now and all the cameras. to this one right here with Trey. McBride, he's pointing a camera. Look at. yourself. We caught you. You know, you. just you just can't you just can't do it. anymore. >> Yeah. I I don't love. what is about to happen. I don't love. what's about to come from all this. because the refs, rightfully so, are. coming out and saying, "Our guys are. getting in trouble for saying stuff." Do. you know what our guys and our women.
because there's four now, four women. ref, five women ref uh blonde ref, >> Sarah, >> Miss Grad, >> Sarah, >> I got a chance to see her after I went. to Old Miss and uh she dropped a hell. yeah damn right to me and I was like, I. didn't know you were Old Miss. She said, "Hotty toddy for sure. I I didn't She's. been around. >> for a long time now. She's been in it. She's trailblazer in the profession.". And I think even she has come out and. said like what it is like down there. Especially whenever coaches are fighting. for their lives and their jobs. Players.
doing the exact same thing. And it's a. physical sport. You're fighting like. hell against everybody. The type of. mentality it takes to be a football. player and to be in the NFL. You might. not have the most perfect way of. speaking or communicating to each other. I don't like the precedent that's. happening because the NFL ref's. association rightfully so has been like, "Well, we'd like it both to be. monitored." And if it's both going to. get monitored, there's a lot of football. guys who have been in football for a. long time who've done this is just like. James Harrison having to learn a new way. to tackle. >> This is like uh whenever they went.
through the entire heads up initiative. to change it. There are coaches who have. been on the sideline for 40 years who. have let refs know that they think they. are [ __ ] them completely with what. they're doing. And players as well, there's players that are very vocal with. the refs. And I think there's. relationships between players and refs. that are good for the game that happen. Even if they do get heated every once in. a while, feels like we're trying to get. to a point where that doesn't exist. anymore. I think that's bad for the. game. >> Absolutely. >> So, that's why I didn't like the twoame. suspension. I know a lot of people are. saying, "Well, they're representing the.
league and they're representing the. sport and everything." It's like, yeah, >> maybe they are actually. Yeah, those are. the types of conversations that happen. down there. We need more respect. I like. a message to everybody, but I think. we're staring down the pipe of uh flag. just like the varel flag happening. >> in very big moments for something that. isn't that big of a deal, but we're kind. of laying the seed for that right now. with this. >> Well, and you assume that's what they. said. Like there's been no word about. Vrabel and his entire penalty aside from. Vable saying, "Hey, I can't have this. happen." So you kind of assume that the. Russ message is, "Hey, yeah, you guys.
are suspended." But instead of getting. pissed, just throw a flag, give him 15. yards, then you're not going to hear any. more [ __ ] from whether it's a player or. a coach. So that's that's really what. kind of sucks is that I wonder if this. weekend we see more of those. >> Yeah. And for your coach, >> I'm glad we got it out of the way. >> I don't know if you got it out of the. way. I don't know if you get that out of. your system. I I think that is who he. is. I I I don't know if. >> the good ones, they've always come up to. you though and they said, "Hey, look, you're about this close. See this thing. right here? I'm about ready to. >> You want to cost yourself in your team.
15. >> maybe this game? Now I see why Trey. McBride that was a third down and short. and guy stumbled into him basically. tackled him. Should have been a probably. should have been a flag and a first. down, but that guy Jeff's been around. forever. Let's go up to Trey. Hey, I. say, "Hey, look, I I may have missed it. Whatever. We didn't throw a flag, but we. need to deescalate this thing right. here. We need to calm this thing down. because I'm going to have to drop one on. you.
>> We saw it differently than the NFL saw. it and I think it's because we probably. see what's coming in the future which is. >> not a hey do the refs is that a. subjective call though if a a coach. crosses the line. That's what I'm trying. to figure out like is there parameters. on what how they speak to you what they. say to you that will be a flag. >> Yeah. Will everybody get a list of words. that aren't allowed or phrases that. aren't allowed? >> Yeah. Can we see that? >> Yeah. I don't know if there's a deal, but it's like when it becomes personal. and you start mfinging somebody and it. becomes not, hey, bad call or whatever.
and it crosses that line, it becomes a, you know, >> I've always you whatever. >> I've always coaches do all the good. coaches work the refs from start to. finish. >> And players, there's a lot of players. that talk to refs. I I even as punter. would talk to refs because kickoff, I'm. with the refs. Uh field goal, I'm with. the refs, punter, I'm with the refs. So. I always had a open line of. communication I thought with the refs. and then if I thought there was. something going wrong in the game. certainly would let them know they would.
chirp back and then we move forward. There was a replacement ref. I told this. guy he's going to be back refing middle. school football not even high school. football if you continue to embarrass. the game like that. He almost [ __ ] his. pants. So I knew immediately should not. continue to talk to this guy should back. off of this. And that was during that. entire period of uh full chaos with. replacement refs. I just think at the. NFL level, the relationships and how. long a lot of these people have been. there, you got to let the lads talk to. each other. Speaking of talking to each. other,
>> Carly Ersie on the sideline has uh. garnered a lot of conversation more so. now than ever before. >> Maybe it's because of what has happened. with the Colts, where the Colts are, what the expectations are, or there's. just more of a spotlight on Carly, who. looks incredibly fresh on every single. sideline. Chuck, you would know more. than anybody else about a coach in a. relationship with the Urs family and. obviously Carly is the eldest of the. three daughters. So, she is the acting. uh majority. Oh, majority, but I think. there are three. She is the uh the one.
who has two votes. How do I say that? There's. >> she the principal. >> principal. Whatever. Carly is eldest. daughter, main owner, >> CEO. >> Kaylin and Casey also a part of that. All three of them own equally, but Carly. is in the position to make the. decisions. Her on the sideline. I don't. know if people are just learning about. it now or if they're sick of it. Chuck, your thoughts on the ERS family and how. they run a ship and how Carly is uh both. appearing and actually being.
>> Nobody's ever seen anything like this. It just looks different to everybody's. eyeball, right? Like why is she meddling. and she's the owner, so she can actually. she can do whatever she wants to. From. day one when I stepped in that building, she was on the hunt to learn every part. of the of professional football, personnel, scheme, offense, defense, she. wanted to know everything. She would. talk to me. She had people in the front. office that she would talk to. She would. spend countless hours of watching tape, learning, trying to become very, very.
familiar. She knew at some point that. she was going to be in this role and and. she wanted to keep this team and she. wanted to excel at it. So I I mean I. even find myself like cuz I'm old. school. You got a bunch of old school. coach coaches out there that are like. why are GMs down there? You know why are. why are ownership this is the only. owner. So we never saw it but a lot of. GMs you're seeing on the sideline now. and people get paranoid especially if. you're 0 and4 and five right and you. think why are you looking over my.
shoulder? >> Hire me to do a job. If I don't do the. job wins and losses we know that's you. know bottom line business. then you can. either keep me or let let me go, but you. don't need to be standing looking over. my shoulder while I'm trying to coach. this football team. >> A lot of people say that uh Carly has. always said she's not looking over the. shoulder, just trying to learn what. happens on the dayto-day. How many years. is enough years for Carly to know what. the hell's going on the sideline? I. guess that's for her to kind of decide. >> This is her comfort zone. I guess this.
is where she feels comfortable and she. wants to be next to her her players. The. players are say let this is like normal. to them now. They they look at her like. another assistant coach, another Shane. Stiken, this guy, Louis, whoever. Like. she's she's around, she hangs out, she. knows these guys, she asks them. questions, she's got a relationship, she's connected to them. So So why not? I mean, >> Chuck was she she was not acting owner. when you were head coach, right? >> No, >> Jim was. >> Jim,
>> how much did Jim and you chat on a. weekly basis? Once a week, every Friday, end of the week, past Friday, you guys. would leave the building. Brian and I. would go down to the office. We talk. about the week. We talk about inactives. We talk about injuries. We talk about. the opponent, what the game plan was. Hey, we got to do this, we got to do. that. >> How long? >> You know how Jim liked to talk, right? >> Yeah. How long's that meeting? >> It was long. >> Is that normal for everywhere? >> I mean, it wasn't always long, but but. you know how Jim likes to talk. So, we. did a lot more listening than we did. talking. >> How is that normal? Every building owner.
normally has a meeting with coach and GM. at least once. >> From what you hear, I don't know because. I wasn't in every one of them, but I. know they have conversations. I know. like in Cincinnati, Mr. Brown, like. every Monday, the whole staff, they. watch the game film together, offense, defense, and special teams. They got to go through every snap. Now, that I ain't signed up for that. >> Can't do it. >> That would be brutal. >> What about Baltimore with Bashadi? It. feels like Bashad's more hands off. >> Hands off. Hands off. and if he needs to.
have a conversation or whatever, he'll. call you, get you on the phone and have. a conversation, but he's not he's not in. there. >> So, I think whenever we've talked to. Carly about in the past, because this. multiple years she's been doing this. now, she mentioned about I'm supposed to. be the one hiring people. I'm supposed. to be hiring general managers, I'm. supposed to be hiring coaches, I'm. supposed to be in this world making our. franchise, our brand, our team, our city. better. I need to know what the hell's. going on in real time. It was her angle. I didn't grow up playing. Her dad, Jim,
played. He played at SMU. He'd been in. the locker room. He'd done it all. before. So, he kind of experienced the. day-to-day. She did not. So, I think. what she was saying at the beginning was. I just need to know the operation cuz. sometimes there's a mistake on the. defensive side, but I'm learning in real. time the person didn't get the call or. the call never made in or the call was. kind of misconstrued by somebody or it. was the wrong call. It wasn't the. player's fault. It was the coach's. fault. She I think she's been trying to. document and figure out what the hell is.
happening. It's like how long does she. do that for? And is this what she just. does forever as the owner of the Colts. or does she move off to the booth at. some point because she can get similar. information? It's become a talking point. though and I think it's because of how. cool she looks. >> Yeah, definitely. >> She has a game she has a game. >> that's her money. >> Yeah, her game day fits her. She's. throwing a fit every game day. See, she, you know, to your point about she said. that we're paying these guys millions. and millions and millions of dollars. I. want to know when we interview them or. we talk to them that they they know what.
the hell they're talking about or. they're full of [ __ ]. >> Exactly. That was really what you. wanted. I'm being it is my decision to. pay these people millions of dollars and. guide our ship and I have no [ __ ]. idea what the operations are on the. sidelines. So, I think this has been a. learning thing. How long is the learning. journey go for her and how many more. cool fits does she have? cuz that might. be the deciding factor. >> So many she I mean she she's got cool. fits for the next decade and a half if. she wants to two decades. >> Never seen never seen her double up. >> No, I don't think so. No, never. Never.
No. She knows. >> Pump for London. >> We get to the game, my wife Sam. First. thing we do is like, what's Carly. rocking today? Look over there. Sick. fit. Yeah. >> Shoe game. Crazy. >> Gonna win. >> Yeah. Probably Colts are going to win. >> If they win a Super Bowl with her on the. sideline, what's everybody going to say. then? Why isn't my owner on the. sideline? >> Yep. Boom. >> Why the hell? What's my owner doing? >> They'll be they'll be screaming for it. >> Yeah, absolutely. >> Get them down there. What? We got this. bozo running our deal. Get the owner.
down there. >> Now, what if they don't win again? And. they they don't win again. And they. don't win again. And they don't win. again. >> Fire Ballard. That's what they're going. to say after eight more years of it. >> Gez. >> How many years, Chris Bard? >> I'm not saying they should. I'm just. saying that's. >> that's what people say if we take off. people are going to say. >> we win a playoff game this year. >> We'll be really pumped around here. >> Haven't won the AFC South 12 13 years. >> How do you feel about it right now? >> Great. Should have beat the Chiefs. I. love the Chiefs. Took them to overtime.
Should not have kicked that field goal. if it was fourth and 50. Should not have. kicked that field goal with Patrick. Mahomes standing on the other sideline. trying to tie that thing. But we're uh. every game is its own game. Jonathan. Taylor can make up for everything. because how good he can run the Rock. Daniel Jones has not played anywhere. near good football. We hope he will get. back to playing great football. I like. where the Colts are. I don't know if we. got the firepower. >> Best team in the AFC might be in. division. >> Jacksonville. >> Yeah, it's good football. They're pretty. cool. >> They legit their defense.
>> Let's talk about the Titans a little. bit, shall we? Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for. this week's. AFC NFC. division. Here's last week's shite. division. If you do recall, the Titans, the Dolphins, the Chargers, and the. Packers. Packers get a huge win this. week. >> They did. They did. >> Huge win this week. Remember, the Shite. division is a week- toeek operation. We. are strictly judging coming out of the. prior week who is the shidiest team. who.
are the shidiest teams. Up there at the. top is the biggest shite ball. Uh that's. their worst team and then it works down. accordingly. Put a tweet out asking. people to try to guess what this week's. shite division will be. We have not. checked to see if anybody has been. right. We assume there will be a correct. answer. If you were the first one to. have the correct answer on X, we will. autograph something from the Thunderdome. and send it to you. >> Let's start with this AFC NFC shite. division. Who's the leader in the shite. house? AJ the Tennessee Titans. Congratulations.
back. >> Yeah, kind of a mainstay here in the. Shite division. Uh the Tennessee Titans. just don't look good, don't sound good, and they're the kings of the shite and. they have been, Chuck. >> Yeah, for sure. Cam, he's had some. really impressive pressers. Some issues. there taking it right from the field to. the presser. Um they they're. competitive. They're in these games. They fight. They play hard. Been coming. up short. It's just hard for us not to. put them the shidiest team in ball, AJ,
with what we've seen every single week. >> Yeah, 0 and4. It doesn't look like. they're going to climb out of this. position anytime soon, but Chuck is. right. Like, they've definitely shown. signs of hope. Like, there's defin. there's not I wouldn't say it's hopeless. in Tennessee, but uh yeah, they better. win a few games pretty quickly. >> Huge one this weekend for this. particular Shike Division. >> Who's the second team in there? Who's. the second shidiest squad? Oh, good. question. How about the Los Angeles. Chargers? >> Congratulations to them. 0 and4. We. don't like this for the Chargers. faithful, but I think the reason why we.
have them so high on the Shite division. is because our expectations coming into. the year. Yeah. >> Now, it's not just the fact that they're. 03 and one against the spread as well. >> So, they're 0 and4. They're 03 and one. against the spread. They're losing money. and they're losing games. Ty, we didn't. expect this from the Chargers at all, but here we are. Maybe a main stay this. year for the Shite division is the. Chargers. >> Yeah, without a doubt. And who knew. that, you know, that we might be talking. about a couple guys on the staff getting. fired already at this point in the. season and it doesn't look like it's. going to get better anytime soon because. I believe both Joe Alt and Rashawn.
Slater potentially aren't going to play. on Sunday. Both of their tackles. We. know Bottish isn't there. So, >> it's just I mean it certainly feels like. it's raining shite on the LA Chargers. right now. >> It's raining shite. >> It's rain. We didn't know, >> man. That's really good there. >> Thank you. >> No problem. Sounds like you knew the. Sounds like you really knew the song. there. >> Yeah, it's one of my favorites. >> I think you nailed it, too. I think. Pitch and everything. >> Thank you. >> No problem. That was phenomenal.
>> Pitch, tone, >> Tony Pitch, baby. >> I've been watching a lot of the voice. Ortiz, friends of the program. >> Yeah, we love the Chargers organization. We love their practice facility. We like. the coach. We like high fives. We like. Justin Herbert. We like McDaniel. We. like so many things. What? >> I'll cosign. >> Yeah, I'm with that, too. >> I'll cosign on that, >> dude. I like McDaniel. You guys don't. like McDaniel? >> He's goofy. >> He's got. >> When did you guys say you don't like I. mean, honestly, >> I've been on this train for quite some.
time. >> Really? >> I love his pizzazz and I love how much. ziness he brings to the table. But that. being said, he feels like a guy that. looks at me and he's like, I'm smarter. than you and I'm cooler than you. >> Oh, cuz he went to an Ivy League school. That's why you feel that way. >> I think I think there's a little bit of. that in him. And here we are. >> He [ __ ] sucks so far. >> No, it's the offense. It's not just. necessarily him. >> Who Who's the Well, if the offense. sucks. Who's the first guy on the.
chopping block? It ain't the quarterback. you're paying $260 million. I'll tell. you that much. >> Oh, you're talking about the. coordinating producer. >> At least before the Chargers were fun on. offense and Herbert was good. >> Not anymore. I didn't know you guys were. out on McDaniel. I thought we liked him. as a person. Maybe just didn't think I. like everybody as a person except. him. Have they been asking one time? They ask. >> I didn't I just never thought it was. going to work between those two guys. Anyway, they are about as opposite.
personalities as you could get. Yeah, I. get they're both kind of kooky, but I. was wondering how long it was going to. take before Harbaugh wanted to like give. him a swirly or hang him up on like a. coat rack or something like that. And I. think it's coming. >> Okay, maybe it might be coming. He stuck. by him at the presser whenever his job. was called. Uh, who's the third team in. this week's AFC NFC shite division? Congratulations to tonight's. good opportunity tonight. >> You can get out. >> Yes, you can. Prime time. >> Prime time. You can shite team. You can.
change the narrative very quickly. Tampa. Bay Bucks 0 and4. Okay. Uh, win loss. 0. and4 this season against the spread. 0. and13 in the last 13 against the spread. I mean, everybody's losing around the. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, AJ. >> Yeah. And the fact that Chuck says the. Cowboys should have no problem covering. nine and a half, that makes me even more. reluctant, I guess, to to think that the. Bucks may be out of this division next. week. >> If they get a big win on prime time,
though, Bucks propel themselves straight. out, >> turn the whole season around. We put. them at third there uh in the Shite. division because we think they're maybe. looking at a promotion to get out of the. Shite division. Could happen tonight. And then the fourth team, congratulations. 0 and4 against the. spread this season as well, >> the Houston Texans. >> Go, babe. >> Two of the AFC South's best are here in. the Shite division. And then the. Chargers and Bucks make up the final. four. We got the Titans as the shidiest,
the Chargers the next. Tampa, then. Houston in that order. If you got it. right first on X with the hashtag. program Shike Division, we will send you. an autograph something from around the. Thunderdome. AJ, your thoughts as we. round out the Shite division here. >> I can't say I disagree with any of the. picks. I mean, all of them being 0 and4. at this point, uh, it makes it tough to. argue that they should be out of here, but, uh, I don't know. I mean, I think. when I'm looking at these four teams, I. think the Bucks and the Texans could be. on a different level than the other two. teams, maybe. I think they could climb. out of here a little quicker than the.
others. >> possibly. A lot of people were hoping. for the Eagles to be in the shite. division with Thunderdome. >> Very close. >> They were dancing. They were dancing. Life on the edge. >> Go for 12 on third down and Lane Johnson. retired because they're so shite. >> No, >> that's a Giants fan. Congrats to the. Miami Dolphins though. Stepping out of. the shite. >> They play hard. >> They've been they've been in it for a. little bit and they they held their own. against. >> cover boys. >> How did we get them out of that? Actually, >> they covered a couple games. They played. they played the Chiefs and the Vikings. very well. >> Yeah. Gumpy Gumpy mentioned them uh this.
morning zero times as we were trying to. piece together. >> Gumpy super quiet down there as he's. eating his uh porridge. >> No, he's graduated from the porch. Stepped out of that SH division as well. >> Yeah, not much. >> I don't know. He whatever he's having. >> He had the protein puffs this morning. I. know that. >> Kept his mouth very closed as we were. talking about the strike division. Nobody's bringing up Miami. Nobody's. bringing up Miami. This is good news. Shri division's done. All right, let me. go ahead and put on the tarp real quick. Let's keep it moving. Congrats to the. Dolphins moving out. >> Yeah, >> they got promoted out of the Shrike.
division. It's very much an eye test. game, but if you're going 0 and3 your. last 13 against the spread, >> Mhm. >> you're probably going to end up in. there. >> No doubt. >> If you're going 0 and4 against the. spread this season, >> you're probably going to end up in. there. >> Go 03 and one against the spread, you're. probably going to end up in there. Especially if you were being talked. about as maybe a Super Bowl contender. And then for the Titans, they play hard. They've covered a couple times because. how shite the sports books think they. are. Yes. >> We're going to need to see it though. before we move them out. >> One of them's coming out. >> I was going to say we got each other. >> early season. Yeah. Shite bowl champion.
tie each other. >> There might be a chance though they. could win and not cover and stay. >> Yeah. Titans Texans could potentially be. a move yourself out of the Shite. division game or they could prove to all. of us. >> Cement yourself. >> that they're right where they belong. >> Yeah. What if this is a 77 tie? >> What if it's a two- two tie? >> That'd be sick. I mean, who says the. Texans don't win, but because the Titans. put up a good fight, the Titans move on. and the Texans stay. >> You're right. Anything's possible with. this Shite division? We can only go off.
what we see. And what we see is a lot of. shite football from some teams. >> and maybe some great football some from. some others. Tonight, we got to make our. pick. AJ, >> the number moved to nine and a half as. the show was live, which is absurd. And. our boost is live on DraftKings right. now. >> by land, air, and sea. You can come join. us on DraftKings. CD Lamb, 60 plus. receiving yards, fresh off of his 17. reception game last week against the. Houston Texans. And Jaylen Daniels, 40.
plus rushing yards. We're thinking he's. potentially running for his life a. little bit. We think he's athletic. enough to get it. We think CD can break. a couple and get 60. We feel good about. the plus 150 boost this evening. If you. are of age, obviously DraftKings is. available nationwide at this point, and. you agree to gamble responsibly or trade. responsibly and not like an [ __ ]. come join us on our team ride. AJ, is. this your first time seeing this? How do. you feel about it? >> I love this, honestly. Like, how you. know, nothing is ever locked. Nothing is. a guarantee. But I feel like responsibly.
you should you should put a few uh you. know, whatever your your limit is, you. shouldn't you shouldn't max it out, but. definitely put something down on this. one. >> Yeah, max units responsibly is what a. team. Responsibly. We are looking for. responsible gambling because we are. setting the tenor for what future sports. gambling looks like. Our generation, this is our task to not be [ __ ]. >> Okay? I don't like watching a morning. show, uh, national morning show, and a. guy gets up there and says, "I lost.
15,000 gambling because I thought I had. it all figured out." And they spotlight. the ills of gambling and sports. gambling. What we would like to do is. tell that person, we wish you would have. been more responsible. We're sorry that. happened to you, but the way we are. going to talk about sports gambling is. in a fashion where we're not trying to. sell the house. We are not trying to get. rich. We are just strictly trying to. have a better time while we watch these. games. So tonight by land, air, and sea, we will try to see CD Lamgo for 6D and.
Jaylen Daniels for 4T as we potentially. find a crown on DraftKings tonight. responsibly. Yeah, >> Chuck likes the Cowboys minus 9 and a. half at home. Uh toxic table at Boston. Connor at Ty Schmidt. How do you two. feel about tonight's game? >> Uh personally, this is a watch on two. things. One, Todd Bulls's job. Two, if. this doesn't come home, it's fade Chuck. season. So, this is kind of the last. time I feel like I have the opportunity. to ride with Chuck. So, I will also take.
the Cowboys minus N and a half. And if. they don't cover, then I'm fading Chuck. the rest of the year. >> Couldn't agree more. Well said. I I. agree wholeheartedly. So, better win. tonight, Charlie. >> One half of the hammer that Cowboys AP. tone. Do you see it the same way the. boys do where we're going to ride with. Chuck? Just strictly put this on him and. if he gets it wrong, [ __ ] him for the. rest of the year. >> I do love I do love passing the buck on. to Chuck. Uh, but no, I'm going to take. the Bucks plus nine and a half tonight. Um, so they their four losses only by 20. points total. Uh, so about five a game. Obviously the spread at nine and a half.
And then when you look at the stats, I. mean they're they're kind of. statistically better than the Cowboys, but then you have the rookie. quarterback. So that's kind of why it's. not at nine and a half, but uh I don't. trust the the Cowboys defense yet. So. give Bucks plus nine and a half. >> Okay. You think they'll be able to keep. up even if Jaylen Daniels undrafted. rookie as the quarterback? AJ, has. anybody kind of made you waffle or. change your thoughts? You were talking. earlier about how I had an at 8 and a. half. Uh I I liked it before the show. Uh every Cowboys better would feel that. way. Are you still on the Cowboys almost.
a 10-point favorite? >> I'm not going to lie. I early on in the. show I was I was waffling thinking about. the Bucks thinking that this is the NFL, man. Nine and a half points is a lot. Like that doesn't happen very often. But. >> going I'm going to I'm going to trust my. instincts and go with the Cowboys and go. with Chuck here. But also Chuck, if you. miss this one, I'm not writing you off. for the rest of the season. And I'll. still ride with you when I feel like you. are on the right side. But I'm staying. with Chuck here. Minus 9 and a half. I. feel like Dak is playing at a high. level. I want to watch him kind of carve. this good defense up. >> AJ's been seeing it really well this. year.
>> AJ's been seeing the board really well. He's been going with his gut. He hasn't. been overthinking it with that big rock. for brain that he has in there. >> Yep. >> I mean, just a touchdown field goal. >> That's all they need. >> And I think they went by 13. >> Big spreads like this too, everyone's on. one side. Sometimes the spread goes the. other way and that's where it feels like. stinky. But because everyone's been on. Dallas and then the spread has gone up, it feels like sports books know this is. a Dallas blowout. >> I'm going to stay with the Cowboys as. well. I'll go with the C just because. it's fun. Everybody but Tones on there, Tone, we'll certainly cheer for you if.
you get it right. But this will be a fun. ride to all put it on Chuck's shoulders. I like I kind of like what we were. doing. >> Put it on. I'm big enough. I got broad. enough shoulders to carry it. >> I like that. >> Bring it. >> Hell yeah. Bring it. >> This would be a good omen here. Yeah, let's go. Charlie. >> Yes, sir. >> I like calling you Charlie, too. That. That is certainly something. >> That was my nickname growing up. >> Really? Charlie? >> Charlie, regardless. >> Holy [ __ ] dude. >> Well, tonight I'm riding with Charlie. regardless. Chuck, what hoop are you.
going for today? >> Um, I think we're going here. >> Okay. Going for this hoop. AJ has some. words of wisdom for you before you spin. that thing for 20 people to win $500. Chuck, I think you're you we know how. much of an athlete you are and we know. you got that rockhead that you like to. throw into guys all the time and you did. that back in the day over and over. I. think you need to move around a little. bit. Maybe simulate a snap. Maybe give. us a little bit of a cadence and take. like a three to five step drop and then. let that thing go. >> Uh toxic table. Do you agree with AJ? Maybe we do need some scrambling. Maybe. we need Chuck Pagano on the move. >> No, I think that was the worst advice.
I've ever heard. I think you just need. to actually have Pat throw you the ball. Catch it. Don't think about it. And just. throw it. Anytime you think about it, you [ __ ] suck. Okay, Charlie, you. agree with that? >> I do. I do. And also, you a lot of times. you creep up to the front of the stage. here like you got some [ __ ] noodle. arm. You don't. Okay. You have an. absolute howitzer attached to that. shoulder. Trust it. [ __ ] fire that. pig skin and make it. >> and that hip. Do you want to uh give it. a go? You want me to throw it to you and. then you don't have to think? >> Wait, wait.
>> No, >> that was a good. >> 20 people to win $500. Probably a good. omen for the Cowboys minus 9 and a half. as well. Chuck Pagano. >> I like that though. Went right after. >> Yeah, just threw it. >> Not drop. >> Just throw that [ __ ]. Don't aim it. >> Seems to get better or worse in the. second and third throw. >> Yeah. Much much much worse. >> Yep. Easy. Mike.
Here we go. Is. >> that D? Yeah. Oh boy. >> This guy sucks. I mean, >> can't believe I did that whole [ __ ]. song and dance for that. >> I know. >> On the track. On the track. >> Don't move. >> Oh my god. >> Now move it. >> All right. 20 people, $500. Chucky, you. put that ball into that hoop right over. there. All they have to do is repost. this post, say something nice to. somebody, and put the easiest way to pay. him. Chuck Pagano for the people.
Maybe there's one more white one down. there. >> What's wrong with black balls? Charlie, >> as if it matters. >> I was going to say, >> you want to try. >> won't make it regardless. >> Baby Duke there. >> Whoa. 20 people. F. Okay. Yeah, that's a. little baby ball. >> WEEDY WEEDY. >> HE'S GOT no chance. >> No chance. Charlie regardless here. Uh.
trying to win 20 people $500 with a lot. of chirping in his ear was regardless. >> Charlie Charlie won't make it regardless. is what uh Connor said. >> Three sisters. >> Mhm. >> Before me constant. die, mom. Rest in peace. >> Rest in peace, mom. Badass. >> Three daughters. Badass. Unbelievable. >> 92. >> 92. >> Hell of a run. Rest in peace, Mom. >> Best ever. Mhm. >> Um, >> I'm better than my mom. >> Yeah. Connie, Kathy, Carrie, three.
girls. And this next one, regardless of. what it was, it was going to be a. Charlie. >> OH, CHARLIE REGARDLESS. >> I LIKE THAT. I like that. Okay. I like. that. Chucky regardless. >> Okay. We just took a trip down memory. lane there. We had a beautiful nostalgia. moment. Now, let's go ahead and cement. this as a magical moment. 20 people can. win $500. Chuck, you put that football. into that hoop right over there. Charlie regardless. YOUR MOM'S. DISAPPOINTED. CHARLIE,
>> UH, before we get out of here, Charlie, regardless of what you just did right. there, we still love you, pal. And so. does everybody else. Those are some. terrible attempts, I will say. And they. only got worse somehow. >> We thought after the second one, it. couldn't get any worse. It did. >> Always does. >> Give him one more. >> No way. I think for the good, we need. him to win this bet tonight. >> Yep. And then we need him to make one. next week. >> Okay. I'm gonna have to take down all my. stuff if I don't get tonight. >> Probably get off social media like.
pretty done. >> I've been thinking about doing that here. pretty soon. >> Yeah, I've been trying. >> The hate is real, >> boy. And talented. The hate is real and. talented. >> Oh. Oh. Oh. Okay. >> Uh this particular. NFL kickoff week five Thursday is a. special one. October 8th is. >> Oh [ __ ]. Oh, it's [ __ ] Bubba Gumpsburg. >> Our uh favorite [ __ ] painter, our.
Canadian uh export, our internet. splunker, our absolute stallion of a. man. Oh no. Is happening right now in. the freezer. >> Thought I was done with this. >> Oh man, I didn't know I was going to. have to do this. It's still in the bag. right now. PLASTIC. I'M NOT BUDDY. VELASTRO ANYMORE. >> SO, I guess we're going to try to do. this with just a cover on the cake. Uh,
Gumpy, we love you, buddy. We appreciate. you. The next trip around the sun's. going to be the best trip around the. sun. This last one has provided so many. magical moments. I appreciate the hell. out of you. The boys appreciate the hell. out of you. You're the best. Happy. birthday, old ass. >> Love you guys. Appreciate you all. Thank. you. If somebody could put a lighter up. there that he could at least blow. >> That's good. It's a good looking cake. >> Yeah. There we go. Happy birthday. to you. >> Happy birthday to you, Pow. Happy.
birthday, dear G. Happy birthday to you. >> We can blow out that candle. >> Blow it out. Gump. >> There you go. Got a baby Gump. >> Baby Gump. >> Baby. >> Now Gumpy's much more healthy now than. he's ever been. I don't know if he'll. even dive into that cake with the. mission that he's been on. We appreciate. the hell out of you, buddy. We're lucky. you're here. We're thankful you're here. And uh thanks for being so awesome on. the road. This guy's energy is palpable.
everywhere. When I feel like I'm about. to pass out or I'm feeling a little. Dober Don, you hear a big Dumpy loud ass. in the back. I appreciate you. We all. appreciate you. Happy birthday, buddy. >> Thank you, guys. I love you. Lucky to be. here with all of you, man. Like every. day truthfully. Uh I appreciate you all. >> Love you, Gumps. >> Love you, Gumps. >> Gumps. >> All right. Be a friend. Tell your. friends how nice might change your life. Chuck, great work this week. >> Baby, Chuck. All right, Chuck. Chuck. >> Great. >> Anything to say to the team here on your. birthday? >> Uh, let's just dive into this week five.
with an absolute banger tonight. I know. it's a backup, but backups been doing. well this year, and that doesn't matter. And the Cowboys are a good football. team. >> Thank you. >> Chuck, anything to say to the team. before we get out of here? Pablo Casal. was the greatest chist in the history of. the world. He was playing, practicing, and teaching. till his death at 96 years old. >> Shut up. >> One of his students, a young gal, came. up to him one day and said, "Mr. Cass,
why do you still practice five hours a. day?" And you know what his reply was? Ty, >> shut up, [ __ ]. He said, "I'm just beginning to see a. little of improvement.". >> Yes. >> Hell yeah. >> Every day. Every day. That's. >> what was his name again? >> Oh, yeah. Of course. >> Great on the cello and we appreciate him. not saying what Todd said. Instead, continue tuning and motivate and lead. others, which is what we will try to do. for the rest of the season.
Thank you. for everything. It is because all of you. watch were able to do this. Hope you. learned a little bit about Pablo Cass. today. Hope you learned a little bit. about bowl. Hope you learned a little. bit about baseball. Hope you learned a. little bit about life. We'll continue to. try to provide that for as long as you. will let us. Team on me. Team on three. One, two, three. Team. Goodbye.
