The Pat McAfee Show Live | Thursday October 29th 2026
Let's go. [ __ ] BOSTON.
running.
>> in Berkeley, California. >> You got it. This one's for three. AJ Hawk. $5,000.
Oh my god. Hey. You make me want you put my hands up. Keep my heels up all again now.
USA, USA, USA.
Come on in. >> Oh my god.
A. up. Hey.
The following program is a collection of. students talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic, informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the.
beliefs of their peers, their boss, or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans in the real. world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further. >> Hey, let's go. >> This show stinks. And the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. you. >> McAfee on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the.
Green Bay Packers. You. >> stop. Damn it. >> Your friend, tell a friend something. nice could change their life. >> Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to. our spooky humble boat, The Draft Kings. Thunderdome. on this NFL weekday. Kickoff Thursday, October 29th, 2026. This program begins now.
>> What was that, Charlie? >> Little spooky stumble at the beginning. That's okay. We got Halloween right. around the corner and knife is certainly. great. It is October 29th and what that. means is week eight of the NFL season is. going to kick off tonight. And it's not. just kicking off in any stadium. No, no, no. It is kicking off at the historic. Lambo Field. Green Bay hosts the. Carolina Panthers in an NFC battle. Packers favored by three and a half at. home. Fresh off a loss to the Lions that. could have gone either way. If Trace. Mack the kicker, makes a kick any moment.
in that game, they would have won. Instead, they have an L. They're looking. to bounce back. And speaking of bounce. back, Carolina Panthers just got their. absolute [ __ ] pushed in by the Tampa Bay. Buccaneers last weekend. We have always. said the Carolina Panthers are a good. football team. Carolina Panthers are. building in the right direction. Bryce. Young, we love him. I appreciate him on. college game day. I appreciate his. story. I appreciate what he's become. down there, but they just looked. terrible last week. Will they be able to. bounce back? So, we got a couple. bounceback games here for two potential. very good teams down the stretch. Will.
either of them end end up making the. playoffs? Yeah. Will both of them end up. making the playoffs? Possibly. Or one of. them start their journey to a Lombardi. tonight on Thursday Night Football. Amazon Prime. Kirk Kurst Street will be. joining us here in a matter of moments. to tell us what he knows about the. behind the scenes going on these. buildings at this exact moment. Week. eight, 17 game schedule, uh 17 game. season, 18week season. We're moving. right along here. We are in the thick of. it and there is a lot happening around.
the league to talk the tables here at. Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt. Ty, quickly, how do you feel about the. Packers coming off a loss, short week, maybe get the bad taste out of their. mouth against Carolina Panthers or how. are you viewing tonight's viewer. experience for you as an owner of the. Packers? >> Uh, yeah, I feel pretty good. You know, I I feel like they should have won last. week. They should have they should have. beat the Lions. You know, what happens. happens. You You kind of wipe that and. move on. Um, you know, I mean, listen, the Panthers are a good football team. If, but I'm kind of framing it like if. you can't beat the Panthers at home, like we don't deserve to talk about.
them, you know, making a deep run into. the playoffs. I know they're banged up. Josh Jacobs is back. Uh, the defense has. been playing really well. So, I the last. time they played at Lambeau on Thursday. night was against the Falcons when they. got embarrassed and that kind of started. like the oh boy does this team. absolutely stink. What's this season. going to be like? So, I also think uh. the Brewers winning the World Series. A. lot of good mojo and just kind of. momentum in the state of Wisconsin right. now. So, I'm hoping maybe that rubs off. on the Packers a little bit as well. >> Coming off a loss, we'll definitely talk. about the Milwaukee Brewers. What a. night last night. That was so much fun. to watch. That was so much fun to watch.
Miz went absolutely crazy. Shout out to. him. And the Brewers do what the Brewers. do. just start rattling off runs as they. put people on the board. Skipper Murphy. gets a title. Brewers win a World Series. and The Miz is a World Champion. >> Yeah, >> shout out to The Miz, Jacob Miserowski. being a world champion in 2026. That's. certainly what we love. But back to uh. what we were talking about uh bouncing. back after losses. Coming off a loss, Carolina is 8-2 outright and 10-0. against the spread since the start of. last season. So, can Allison lads. seemingly have a good mental toughness?
How are the Packers? We don't we didn't. get sent any Hembo stats about that. So, I guess that's not worthy of a. conversation. Packers have won a lot of. games. Let's assume they're not losing. multiple games in a row on a very. regular basis either. Let's go to one. half of the hammer. D Cowboys AP Tone. Tone. What does the line look like. tonight? What are people favoring? >> Uh the people are favoring the Packers. on the three and a half as them as a. favorite. I just looked it up. 60% are. on the Packers against the spread. Over. 70% on the money line for the Packers. Not surprising after what the Panthers. looked like last week and at home in.
Lambo on prime time. You know, that. normally favors that team. This year it. hasn't, but the last week it did with. the Bears. So, in this situation, you. know, people are riding that as well. >> Okay, I like that. Hey, you almost got. choked up in the middle of that. And how. could you not? Week eight of the NFL. season. I didn't know it was a jelly. bean. I thought it was just your. emotions. Week eight of the NFL season. Uh, fact is just a jelly bean. I like. that we're celebrating the holiday. already. Exactly. >> I like there's candy out. I like that we. got these decorations because it is a. nice little spooky week here at the. DraftKings Thunderdome as Halloween is a.
pretty notable day for this particular. program. I assume tomorrow should be. pretty outrageous. Excited to see what. you all do. >> Okay. Um, >> are we dressing up? >> If you have any heads up on things that. I should not dress up as, I would like. that piece of information before we go. ahead and do that. Okay. In the past, I've thrown myself right into a. conversation I had no idea was happening. anywhere in the world. And then all of a. sudden, I get excited. It's like, "Oh, not a good idea, man. I just bought this. because it was overnighted and I thought. it could happen." So, if we have any of.
those, if we can certainly tell me, that'd be great. Shout out to Ram. Trucks. They're the best truck down the. line. >> You put a bunch of trucks on the line, you go down the line. Ram truck's the. best one. Uh, so tomorrow should be a. lot of fun. Excited for that. Excited. for the Halloween. Excited for week. eight. Having a great game to kick it. off here on Thursday Night Football. Well, uh, 37 year football coach, 18 in. college, 19 in the NFL. Our coach, Coach. Beagon, is here, coach. >> Hey, baby, Charlie. >> All right, Charlie, you've been ass. picking games, but can you tell us what. it would be like if you were a coach who. just had a loss? Like for the Packers,
they shot themselves in the foot. multiple times. They should have beat. the Lions. Certainly should beat the. Lions. And then the Panthers just got. run off the damn field. How would you be. talking to your teams? And which team. you think is more excited to get this. pass game out of their minds? Basically, >> probably the Panthers. But thank God. it's a short weight because you can't. wait to put the last one behind you. Talked about Green Bay, they had their. chances. Talked about the missed. opportunities, missed field goal. They. just keep beating themselves. >> Sins, self-inflicted negatives, right? >> Yep.
>> They got to eliminate those things. I. mean, it's it's it's unbelievable. You. we good? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, the sins we can't. >> Little over here. You sound like Neil. Brown right now. You don't need to be. doing that. He's wearing a backpack for. Texas. >> Yeah. So, yeah. Carolina, they gave up. 258 rushing yards to Bucky Irvin and. that Tampa offense. They got to be more. than ecstatic. And they've given up 200. yard rushers like uh like you know Tone. gives away jelly beans here in.
Thunderdome. He's giving them away jelly. beans. I didn't mean they're they're. flying all flying all over the place. So. three and three Panthers first place of. the NFC sh I mean South. >> W and Green Bay 4 and three and they're. in dead last in the NFC North. Tells you. a little bit of how competitive the. divisions are right now. So. >> anybody's ball game, anything can. happen. I don't like the fact that. public's money's on Green Bay. I don't. like the fact that all these ATS numbers.
favor the Panthers. Last time these guys got me on the side. You talk about how bad I am at picking. games. >> this year. Yeah. >> It started with these dudes. >> If you remember Atlanta going up there, right? Thursday Night Football. Obviously, once, right? >> And and we Huh. >> Twice. Oh, yeah. Last week you won. again. >> Two and five. >> Yeah. So, I'm off. No, I'm off. >> Yeah. You're haunted. Look. >> Now you're starting to complain about. stats, though. I I don't really. necessarily like. >> Shut up. No, I took I took the Packers. Ty talked me into it. And uh what they.
did. >> Don't put it on me. You're making the. choice. >> They shite the bed. an absolute egg. against Michael Pennis and and the. Falcons. >> That's not his name. >> Come on, Charles. >> It's Penn. >> Pennock energy. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Big Pet. >> Exactly. Shout out to Desmond Howard. He. was. >> Channing had a good one there. I mean, that name is is very right. But he's a a. great football player whenever he's. healthy and he showcased that that. evening against the Packers. Hopefully, it's a little bit of a different night. for Green Bay Packers fans. And the. Carolina Panthers fans, I think they're.
wondering, is our are we allowed to be. proud of our team after what just. happened with the Bucks? Is this a team. we're allowed to believe that they're. good? I think yes, that's going to. happen. We have a boost that'll be on. Giraffe King Sportsbook this evening. Uh, every time we've rode with the. quarterbacks, we've seemingly had. success. We did a little self scout. We. did a little self study. Bryce Young and. Jordan Love to both have 220 pass yards. Uh, we like it. It's been boosted to. plus 110. If you agree to gamble. responsibly and not like an [ __ ]. we'd love for you to come join us on the. best sports book on earth. DraftKings, you can get in on this, you'd have to. opt in and then make the bet. Shout out.
to DraftKings giving us this boost to. plus 110. And uh shout out to Bryce. Young and Jordan Love hopefully getting. it done through the sky. Now, you look. at the numbers, >> Carolina Panthers defense, to your point. about jelly beans being tossed out, they. can't stop the run. >> No. >> Okay. They can't stop the run. But also, if you look at the numbers, Packers. can't run the Rock and they're on their. third or fourth string center or. something like that. Josh Jacobs is back. from suspension. Who knows how many. times he's getting the Rock, but the. Packers can't. If the Packers had a run.
game, this would probably be a rushing. boost because of how bad the Carolina. Panthers have been against the run. But. instead, we think both Bryce Young and. Jordan Love are going to have to do some. magic. And we think they're going to. throw for over 220. And uh we're team. riding on this thing. Let's be. responsible. Let's get another win, boys. Because there's people like Max. from, pardon my take, right alongside of. us. There's people out there that are. saying, "We're doing every single one.". There's people out there saying, "We are. riding with you because you guys are. getting the best boost." Because. DraftKings is giving us great boost. right now. So, we need to go ahead and.
respect that and we need to win. Tone D. >> Yeah, I got some numbers, too. Two and 0. when we do the quarterbacks as a boost. Um, Bryce Young's the number two. quarterback in the entire NFL in passing. yardage, I believe. 285 yards a game. Jordan Love is the number four. quarterback in the NFL. 280 yards a. game. So, we're got two top five. quarterbacks in yardage going over 220. plus. Yeah, I'd bet it responsibly. maybe. >> Yeah, but definitely responsibly. on this Conor. THIS NO, NO, NO. THAT.
RESPONSIBLY. CONNOR, I heard a sound. over there that you were thinking. irresponsible things. We need to. remember to gamble responsibly because. even if something looks like a luck, smells like a luck, feels like a luck, football makes us humble pie on a very. regular basis. So, let's not be. outrageous here. Let's do this. responsibly. But, let's get another win. Con man. >> Yeah, I feel great about this one. I'm. climbing the ladder on this one. Actually, I'm going 220, 230, 240, 250, 260, 270, 280. I'm going to go to 290. And guess what? I'm going to go to 300.
This is a shootout, baby. I feel great. about this one. >> Okay. I do as well responsibly as well. Uh joining us now is a man who's going. to get to the bottom of another massive. trade that happened this morning. There's a guy who's been a stud, a. staple, a stallion of the Tennessee. Titans. Felt like no matter what was. happening for that team down in. Nashville, he was going to be a part of. it. Everybody that's ever been through. the Tennessee Titans organization has. respect for this man. We asked Coach. Frabel, Mike Frabel, whenever he was. down at Tennessee Titans, we were on a. golf course with him. We were very lucky.
to be at the American Century uh. championship or classic. >> championship. >> Championship golf tournament out in. Tahoe. Everybody goes to him. I'm not. good enough at golf to be there, but I. did get a chance to enjoy it a couple. times. We're in Varable's group and. Varable Ohio meatthead. Okay, that's. what he is. Always will be. That's just. kind of uh his calling card almost. He's. got huge mits. He's very tough. Will. normally have an upper decker on both. sides. He'll do it all. You know, we. understand who he is, what he is. Uh I. asked him if he thought he could beat up. everybody on the Tennessee Titans still. at his age. He said, "Everybody but.
Jeffrey." Jeffrey Simmons was the only. guy that he said I couldn't beat up. Jeffrey Simmons has survived multiple. GMs, multiple head coaches, multiple. everything down there because everybody. in the Tennessee Titans organization. loves him. Well, for two ones and a. fourth alongside a fifth, he is now a. member of the Chicago Bears. And I think. it took so much draft capital because. how much the Tennessee Titans. organization, how much the city loves. Jeffrey Simmons. But I can't help but. think to myself, we just traded the Forest Buckner of the. San Francisco 49ers for a fourth round. pick.
>> Two ones and a four. >> for Jeffrey Simmons to the Chicago. Bears. And allegedly the Chicago Bears. were trying to get Deorest Buckner until. it was deemed that the Buckner family. wanted to go back to San Francisco. Joining us now to kind of get to the. bottom of all this. >> Very He's Deorest Buckner's three years. older. >> Sure. >> Than Jeffrey Simmons. Jeffrey Simmons. has I think a couple more all pros. already and pro bowls. >> younger. >> but yeah three years. Yeah, he Jeffrey. Simmons has a deal in place until 2030.
Uh but that's like one of the highest in. the league. He's $105 million coming to. him over the next three years. Deforest. Buckner doesn't have a deal passed this. year. Uh but I I I think the per game. sack rate Buckner has more uh I think. Buckner has has more sacks. Obviously. he's played more games, but I think if. you were to do it in the. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, and Jeffrey Simmons is a game record. He'll block a kick, he'll beat double. team. He is a phenomenal football. player. If I was a Chicago Bears fan, I'd be very excited about getting. Jeffrey Simmons onto that team,
especially with what you guys needed. But I'm just wondering as a Colts fan. Uh, >> Junior away for nothing. >> Fourth round, >> two ones and a four, ladies and. gentlemen. Junior NFL insider. Ian Rapaort. >> wrapped up. Help me wrap my mind around. what's bucking going on right now in. this. >> uh trade work. Jeffrey Simmons, we are. incredibly happy for him. He's going to. a contender. He's one of the best.
football players in the league. Everybody respects him. Everybody loves. him. He's a monster. The stats have. coming out about him against double. teams and what he's been able to do. He's great. >> He'll also block a punt and a kick for. you because he has like a never- ending. motor. everything you want from a guy. He is uh two ones and a four for Simmons. and a fifth. How do we get to this point. and when did we know that the Chicago. Bears were interested in Jeffrey. Simmons? >> Okay, so I'll start with the second. part. So that you mentioned Chicago. Bears were in on DeForest Buckner. They. were basically looking all across their.
defensive front, looking at edges, probably still looking at edges and. looking at defensive tackles as well. When it became clear that it was going. to be only the 49ers uh for Deorest. Bucker, then the Bears simply pivoted. Now, they've been calling around anyway. They've been working the phones a lot. Ryan Ples has been very, very active. And for Simmons, the answer was always. like, "No, no, like this is like, you. know, face of the franchise." Uh, I. mean, sounds like it was a really. emotional day for Simmons as well.
himself today. You just, you know, he. signed believing he was going to be a. member of the Tennessee Titans for life. I mean, these things are hard to get. over. And if you're the Chicago Bears, like you wonder why the draft capitals. so much, this is what it took to trade. for him because if you're the Titans, you say no, no, no. And then, well, maybe that we would consider and that's. kind of how you got here. And you know, credit to Ryan Poles for continuing to. push uh you know, him and and Mike. Bonanzi worked together in Kansas City. and knew each other well. Probably know.
how each of them value this player. This. is what it took to trade him. And so. Jeffrey Simmons goes from the Titans to. the Bears. The Bears are already Super. Bowl contenders big time. This is where. you win. This helps tremendously. >> There's something about like you're. worth what you're worth. Your value is. determined publicly at some point. It's. not in theory. It's an actuality. What. took to get the deal done was this for. Jeffrey Simmons. Now, >> yes, >> congrats to the Bears. >> Okay, now you're out a lot of picks, but.
you're in a win right now. Let's wait. He might be the piece that makes you be. Super Bowl. The odds move 200 points for. the Chicago Bears to win the Super Bowl. Goes for like plus 1,200 to plus 10,000. or plus,400 to plus, 1200. So, it's plus. 14. Are they favorites now? >> Oh, there it is right there on the. thing. Plus, no. Uh, banged up nine are. still uh favorites. plus400 to plus. 1,200. 200 points of movement for a. DTackle is gigantic. It's a gigantic. swing by the sports books. It's massive. respect by the sports books to him. But.
I think it's also recognizing a huge. hole that the Bears potentially had on a. roster that could go on a run. So sports. books taking in account all those things. as they're moving uh the odds for them. to win a Super Bowl is real. That's a. gigantic move. And also I think Sheffy. reported like that's the biggest hall. for a interior defensive lineman since. 1967 or something like that and and. Jeffrey Simmons is certainly worthy of. that conversation. We can't wait to. watch him. >> Now can we talk about the Buckner piece. of this whole thing because I'm a season. ticket holder for the Indianapolis Colts.
and I'm watching a fire sale happen and. I'm being told by people we can't get a. one for Jonathan Taylor. Okay, he's got. two ones and a fourth for Jeffrey. Simmons. And I'm being told we can't get. a one for Jonathan Taylor somehow. And. Buckner goes for a fourth rounder. Okay. And then for Quinton Nelson, he goes for. a third and a fifth rounder. Um Quinton. Nelson, first ballot hall of famer, I. think everybody is saying, especially if. he goes on to have success. >> I'm sure. >> Buckner stats, if you were to look at. him, and if he's to win a Super Bowl.
with the Niners here a couple times, I. think they would be in the conversation. piece for that. And somehow we don't get. [ __ ] So is Ed Dogs, the. uh head of personnel, assistant general. manager, potentially getting worked by. these people because he's a he's a lame. duck person in the position that he's in. or were the Bears potentially very in on. Buckner and then like not this much in. but better than a fourth I would assume. for DeForest Buckner if this is what.
they were willing to give out to get. Jeffrey Simmons. Uh, not that Jeffrey. Simmons isn't younger, three years he is. younger. He does have more all pros and. uh, his stats against double team and. what they need is good. But if you look. at a lot of stats, DeForest Buckner also. having a uh, potential Hall of Fame. career in real time as well and he's. three years older than Jeffrey Zimman. So there is, you know, some comparables. there. But the Bears were going to move. for DeForest Buckner. And then Buckner. told the Indianapolis Colts, Carly Ers, uh, Gordon, hey, I will only go to San.
Francisco. And then John Lynch knows. that's true too on the other side of. that. So. >> is that is that a reality that that is. actually happening there and they kind. of get forced into a a deal that is not. really good for your side for a. multitude of reasons but all it is is. good for a guy that we all love and care. about the forest Buckner and his family. Like how do you kind of tell that story? >> Yeah. So first of all I don't believe. the the Colts took less from the 49ers. than they would have gotten from the. Bears. Like that would be that would be. irresponsible. I think what they. probably did was tell the 49ers like we.
got I not probably we got I know they. did we got another team it's got to be. this and that's what how the 49ers. wanted to give a five the Colts wanted. to get a three it ended up meeting in. the middle as a four because they had. another team which was the Bears right. so I do think that you know the value. was kind of maximized as far as why you. your question seems to be really like. why didn't the Colts get more right and. part of the reason is because both of. these guys, both the Forest Buckner and.
Quentyn Nelson are on expiring. contracts. And so if you're a team like. basically you're trading for a rental. because you don't know if you're going. to resign these guys after where so like. that brings down the value because it's. like well I'm not going to trade a two. for Quentyn Nelson and then he leaves. after only nine games and it's like what. did we do that for? Right? So the rental. kind of brings down the price. >> Okay, pause. Can I pause you there? He. Jeffrey Simmons just literally just got. paid $ 105 million top of the market for.
his position. So if Buckner wanted to. negotiate a new deal with if it was less. than 30 million a year, which it. probably would be, the Bears would be. getting a better. >> trade contractually than uh what Jeffrey. Simmons literally just signed for in. this entire thing. >> Yes. >> So I don't think that's like a. comparable thing in this particular. Quinton Nelson. Definitely, I understand. that. But for. >> got a huge signing bonus though and so. he's only getting paid 7 million this. year and the other years are like it's. not reasonable but it's reasonable. Um.
so when a player is like locked in uh. when a player is locked in financially. that makes it more attractive to trade. for is basically what I'm saying. >> What Tom Peliser send you a text saying. what was that? Was that Tom Peliser? >> Uh it was not Tom Peliser. is out there doing it right now. Tom. Peliser is out there. He's out there. rolling. He he did say some things that, you know, got us all into an interesting. conversation that none of us really. should have ever been into, I guess. But. he is breaking right now. A man who's.
done a lot for the NFL. Uh rep. Okay. So, since it's an expiring contract and. he's on uh paper until 2030 and a lot of. the money have been paid by the. Tennessee Titans, he obviously much more. desirable than DeForest Buckner. >> Yes. And also he is a great player like. and so the the value of trades is always. interesting to me because it's like you. know I mean everyone's asking it's like. how do they get like first of all how do. the Bears get them and then it's like.
wow like two ones is he really worth. that and the answer is always you're. just worth what someone is willing to. pay for you right and so like last year. with the the sauce gardener trade which. I'm sure you were thrilled about um he. cost two ones because that's the only. way the Jets would have traded him. And. so like you don't know for sure. It's. always a little bit of poker. Like the. Jets could say that and at some point. you have the decision we're just not. going to do the deal or all right fine. we'll do it. And obviously like in this.
case the Bears were like we want Simmons. bad enough that we are going to pay two. ones and more to get this guy. And the. argument from the Bears case is not just. you get a great player, you know, under. a cost controlled contract, but it's. also like let's say that Jeffrey Simmons. ensures that the Bears are good, which I. think they're going to be good anyway. Okay. Well, then basically they traded. the number like, you know, 25th to 32nd. pick two years in a row. Like that's not.
as good value as let's say, you know, the the pick that the Jets have of the. Colts right now is probably going to be. a top five. >> Okay. >> So the value one last shot there. Yeah, I heard it. I heard it. One last shot. there. Okay. So, I shouldn't be worried. that people are just going to kill the. Colts in every negotiation cuz Ed Dobs. is sitting there. >> uh Ed Dobs is sitting there as a. potential lame duck general manager and. uh teams know that if the player just. goes to, you know, and says, "Hey, we're. not going anywhere else." Like that's. >> I think I think he's done I think he's. done fine. Now, I will say it's hard.
when people know you're selling. It's. hard when people know you're selling. that that because then it's like. obviously you're going to trade this. guy. But he had markets for both of. these guys. So. >> yeah, but markets but only really one. home for Buck, right? >> And John Lynch definitely knew that. Yeah. John Lynch where. >> it gets complicated. I agree. >> Yeah. And it's like Yeah. I mean, if. you're sitting on the other end of a. deal and you know that the person is. telling the people, I'm only coming to.
you. So it doesn't matter if you have 10. teams. >> that are involved, especially if the. team says, you know what, we're going to. stand by our guy. We're going to do. what's right for you. Not necessarily. our team that is in a full fire. situation for maybe the next five years. as an organization because everything. that's currently happening and. everything that has happened over the. last couple years. It's just I'm happy. Buck's back there, but boy, this. happening this close to when that deal. takes place for the same exact position. with the same exact team with same exact. type of Hall of Fame players, a little. bit younger. understand three years.
younger is a huge deal, but DeForest. Buckner outside of his neck injury has. played basically every single It's just. crazy times. Okay, who's going next? She. dy texted you there. You said who's. going next? Is there going to be more. moves today? >> Uh I don't know. Trades come together. when they come together. Um but I think. I'll tell you this one thing that we've. learned is players can be traded. whenever. Like if you look at like the. this year we've had a trade like at. 10:30 on a Thursday. We had a trade on a. Wednesday. Had a random trade on a.
Monday which was uh JJ McCarthy. Like. trade at today on a Thursday morning. like teams at this point do not care. Like they trade whenever. So could a. trade be coming today? Like sure. And I. think what happens is Bears make this. trade and then let's say you're. competing against the Bears or you're in. the market for a player, you're like, why would we not just do our thing now? So yeah, I mean I would say phone lines. are pretty hot. There's plenty of trades. being discussed. >> Love that the phones are alive and.
active. Last question here. Let's talk. about tonight. Go ahead, Ty. >> Yeah, Rapshi, do you have any uh. indication on like the injury status for. both teams tonight? I know Matthew. Golden, you know, was questionable and. maybe didn't practice earlier in the. week, but. >> probably play. Golden probably plays. What about the Panthers and the rest of. the Packers as well? >> Uh, I would say uh Jaylen Phillips we. know is out. That's obviously a big one. Uh, the rest of the Packers, hold on. I'd have to look at my list. I've been. thinking of other things this morning, but Golden was kind of the big one. Uh,
I was tracking. And then obviously the. other big Packer news, which is Micah. Parsons probably practices next week, which doesn't help tonight, but probably. helps eventually. >> Okay. Uh, the Micah stuff, fascinating. you know, week 12, maybe we get him back. for. >> No, sounds Sounds like it's gonna be. earlier. >> He's only gonna practice for one week. and then he's gonna play. >> That's right. Run him out there. Get him. out there. >> All right. You're the man, Junior. We. appreciate you, ladies and gentlemen. It's Ian Rapol. >> Joining us now is the man that's going. to be on the call for Thursday Night. Football. He's also uh the face of.
College Game Day and College Football. Prime Time for ESPN and ABC. An absolute. legend, former president of Ohio. Ladies. and gentlemen, Kirk Herbstre. >> Herbo, how we doing? >> We got Farvo RIGHT OVER YOUR SHOULDER. THERE. HEY, in the middle of some real. football history over there in Green. Bay. >> Big time. Lambo right here. >> Favre, Reggie White, Desmond Howard. right here on the wall. >> Wow. >> Yeah, this is awesome. Love coming here. >> Yeah, this is the second time this. season. Uh we talked about the first.
time whenever Atlanta came up and uh did. their thing. This week feels a little. different for the Packers. They uh shot. themselves in the foot uh kicker a. couple times last week with Trey Smack. He's getting another opportunity. I. don't think he can miss another kick. this season. He probably knows that. And. then the Panthers on the other side, they just got absolutely smacked by the. Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a division game. What's the mindset behind both these. squads, you think, as we head into. another fantastic Thursday night. football game? >> Well, you know, I think uh Green Bay is. an interesting situation right now. I.
mean, Jacobs is back for his second. game, and I'm I'm sure Tai could tell. you if you guys watched him. I mean, he. he made a great play out of the back. field to score that touchdown, but you. know, you could tell he was just kind of. working his way back. I I think he'll. get a lot more opportunities tonight. They got to run the football. Carolina's. one of these defenses from that Fangio. scheme where they do a really good job. of preventing the big plays. They're. going to put a lot of the safeties back. and keep everything in front. top five. defense as far as not giving up.
explosive plays through the air. And so. it puts a lot on eight and and. especially this offensive line. I mean, this offensive line has been depleted. all year. Uh it's one thing after. another. Last week I I I think one of. the more impressive things I've seen is. John Williams who's never played center. I mean, even in college, he was at. Cincinnati. He was a left tackle. This. guy comes in, they went to their third. center in that game alone, and he didn't. miss a beat. And um you know, in fact, I. I asked Matt yesterday, I go, "Could.
this guy could this be his new position. possibly being a center?" And he said, "Could be." I mean, they were blown away. by how how poised he played, especially. against that defensive line with McNeel, Hutch, everything they have on that. Dline on the road in that environment. Not only were his snaps good, but he. handled passing off some some games and. twists and and so he's going to go. tonight at center. And um you know, I. think overall this this team's got to be. able to run the ball. I mean, Matt. Laflur's offense is based on their.
ability to to run the football and and. to put uh Jordan Love in more favorable. play action situations. And right now, really these first seven weeks, it's. it's been nothing out of the running. game. They're dead last in the league, which is very unusual to see those. Packers uniforms not have that ability. to run the ball. And it's been all on. Jordan Love. and he's been hit like 52. times. I think it's the most in the. league. >> Uh without a roughing call, by the way, I I should throw in because they get a.
lot called against their defense. I. think they have eight couple that were. really terrible last week in their game. >> and yet their own quarterback's been. beaten up and and hadn't gotten any. calls. So, I I think to me because of. this, not only do they they play a. defense that is going to force them to. run the ball, they've just got to get. that running game going, kind of get the. continuity up front going. So, I think. that's a big part of it. Carolina's. coming off a horrendous game, as you. guys know, against Tampa. It's one of. They have they have four games that.
they've been playing good ball and they. opened up with Chicago week one just. really, really bad game and then last. week against Bucky Irving and and Bake. coming back. I think Bake threw it like. 11 times the whole game. They just ran. the ball down their throats and. Carolina, it was a game that got away. from them, turning the ball over on. offense and couldn't tackle Bucky. Irving. And before you know it, with. those turnovers, I mean, I think it was. like 336 at half. I mean, game was over. And so, no team has ever wanted a short.
week in a Thursday night as bad as as. Bryce Young and and the Carolina. Panthers. So, I think they're a a an. improved team. I you know I think that. they've got some injuries of their own. that they're dealing with. You just. heard I am mention that Jaylen Phillips. is down and so you know that that's a. concern but I think overall it's a it's. a team that is much more capable than. than how they played a week ago. Bryce. Young, we had him on game day a few. weeks ago. It's amazing where he was two.
years ago and where Dave Canales has. gotten him by building the the offense. around him. They got a lot better. weapons with T-Mac kind of leading the. way and they got great tight end room. and uh I think it'll be a good game. Very tough one to kind of feel like. usually these Thursday nights you kind. of have a feel which way it might go. We. the dogs have been howling on Thursday. nights this year. >> and I don't know. I just I have no idea. to feel this one out because of the the.
way Carolina's been up and down and kind. of unpredictable. >> Yeah. Yeah. And you talk about Bryce. Young, how he's playing now versus two. years ago. He's second in the league in. pass yards. He's averaging 285 a game. Okay. So, he he is spinning it. We're. hoping he goes for at least 220. alongside Jordan Love. >> Here we go. >> Ian Rap sheet. He also said that uh. Golden likely up, which is good for the. Green Bay Packers. And Jordan Love, you. would assume. I I don't want you to have. to give away any behind-the-scenes. conversations that you've had, but that. is what junior NFL insider rap sheet has. been saying. So maybe a little bit more.
healthier than we could have imagined. this particular game in your eyes. >> Yeah. Yeah, I think so. Um. >> Yeah. Put you on a spot overall. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Cuz you've been told. >> Yeah. I mean I I I like these I like. these uh these numbers you guys are. always throwing out on and you don't get. greedy, you know. You're not you're not. you don't try. How How'd last week go, by the way? >> We hit it started. Yep. We hit it. started bad. I want to let you know. It. started a little slow. Did not think it. was going to go, but then we got there. the final two minutes when um Caleb.
drove down and scored a touchdown and. then Drake got all those yards on the. dump off to Raandre for the touchdown. Yeah, that really helped. >> Huge for us. Yeah, we were uh it was a. little cardiac situation, but we'll get. back in there again. We we'll ride it. again. 220 pass. >> 220 is the number. Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. I I you know I I think a lot. of that is going to have to be yak. tonight. A lot of this is gonna I don't. think you're going to see unless these. teams can run the football. I think. you're going to find a lot of the. underneath and yards after the catch um.
you know guys slipping tackles and and. >> Josh tough to tackle. >> Yeah. Screen. absolutely absolutely tent. >> Oh T-Mac. Oh, he's going to go all over. the place. >> Hey, we like that. >> And they're massive. I mean, look at. their receivers and their tight ends. I. mean they I think they average like 6'4. I mean they they are they are a big. group. Um but Jonathan Ganid's defense. first three weeks 30 points a game after.
that Atlanta game on Thursday night. Since then they have shut things down. only 13 points a game in the last four. games. >> So I and that's without Micah Parsons. That's with Edin Cooper out for the year. with the Achilles. I just think they've. you know the younger players are. starting to play better. I think they're. understanding the scheme. They're. disguising a lot better. They just seem. to be a lot more connected and so it'll. be a good challenge uh for Bryce Young. I don't know if that helps you with your. >> Yeah. Yeah. You should have held that. one hand there. I don't like any uh I.
don't like any thoughts that could. potentially counter. That's why we're. saying everybody gamble responsibly. Please trade responsibly, but we are. team riding alongside the quarterbacks. both getting over 220. Okay, let's pivot. away from this game tonight. Let's talk. a little bit about the NFL. It's trade. season. I don't know if you've been. seeing it. Uh Colts are in a fire sale. Jeffrey Simmons just went to the Chicago. Bears. I think you're a huge fan of the. Chicago Bears from my understanding, if. I remember, if I recall probably. Uh. they go from plus400 to plus,200 Super. Bowl odds this morning after trading for. Jeffrey Simmons. You live down in.
Nashville. This man was a pillar of the. Titans and a pillar of the city. I think. everybody in the city loved this man. Everybody in Titans organization loved. this man. To see him get traded, wild. But the Bears make a huge move on a. Thursday morning. Kirk Herbstreet. >> Boy, how about the NFC North? So much. fun. you know, the way this thing is. going to go the rest of the year with. not only the trades, but just getting. guys like Micah Parsons back the second. half of the season for the Packers and. now this trade. I mean, this guy, you're. right, living in Nashville, Jeffrey. Simmons, is this franchise has. struggled. The the one silver lining.
year after year is his play and he. brings an attitude. I mean, you put him. in the middle of that defense. You get. Montes Sweat back from that twoame. suspension, that defensive line with. Dennis Allen, they're already playing. well. Now, you throw this big man in. into the middle of that defense, um it's. going to be filthy to see what they're. going to be able to do and how they're. going to be able to intimidate people. because he's a presence. I mean, he he. can you leave him isolated one-on-one, you're done. So, he's going to that's a. it's a big deal. And I think for the.
Titans who have a new stadium opening up. next year, I think it just kind of shows. you where they are. I mean, for you to. let go of Jeffrey Simmons and again, they they pick up a couple first round. picks, 27 and 28. Um, and I think a. fourth rounder in 27. So, you can tell. they're stockpiling and and and almost. punting on the season and kind of like. the Colts are, maybe there's something. going on in the AFC South, but um, you. know, the Titans are a long way away. from competing and they need draft picks. and they need players. It's it's one of.
those teams like the Colts, it's not. just one area, there's a lot of areas. So, um, it it I guess from the Titans. standpoint, as much as it you hate to. see a great player like Jeffrey Simmons. go, it does make sense because that, you. know, they're they're not going anywhere. right now. With a new stadium and trying. to create a buzz and excitement for that. city and that franchise, you you got to. make some moves. And, uh, wish Jeffrey. Simmons all the best. He's going to kill. it in Chicago. Should be a lot of fun to. see what he does in that Dennis Allen. scheme. >> I um,
>> how you holding up with the Colts? Well, that's what just the way you were. talking about the Titans and the Colts. just he kept saying. >> the same team. >> Yeah, that's what he kept saying like. every and they just beat us and since. then we've fired and traded everybody. since we lost to the Titans. But. >> everything. >> What's your breakdown on the Colts? >> Everything you said there is very valid. and and the fact that that's where we're. at right now at week eight is a little. bit heartbreaking. But the difference. between us and the Titans is we've paid. everybody. We've paid everybody. Like we paid all. these guys. We paid uh DeForest Buckner.
big. We paid Quinton Nelson big. They're. on expiring contracts. We chose not to. pay them again. We did choose. We paid. Alex Pier, Alec Pierce big. We paid Dana. Jones big. We paid secondary big. We. paid running back big. We We paid two. ones for a quarter. >> Not been on the field yet. >> Am I to say we're in the same position. as the Titans is just crazy to think. about, but we are because the amount of. money that has been invested into the. roster and the amount of time that has. been invested into the roster and.
everything like that. Where where did it. go wrong? >> Everywhere. You know where it went. wrong? Nope. >> Andrew Luck. >> I mean, that's where it got bad. Yeah. >> But I mean, in the in the last three. years, where did it go wrong? >> I think it was a culture thing. Um can't. have that many good players. Look how. look how many players other teams are. like, "Yep, give it to us. Give it to. us. Give it to us." The good players got. a lot of good players. Just for some. reason, I win. So, you have to go to the. culture. I think uh I think there was a. a pretty big lack of accountability in. there. I I I think from my understanding.
just from outside looking in I said this. multiple years ago uh I didn't really. have a good relationship with this. particular I mean equip managers. trainers front office owner everything. like that I'm I'm still good with but. the actual you know team people I don't. think they necessarily appreciated me. pointing out everything that I thought. was potentially happening years ago and. that's just strictly because I had a. chance to watch like the best building. >> I was going to say your culture when you. were there was a championship caliber so. you're comparing it to that. >> that's how I got dropped into the NFL is. watching Payton Manning lead a building. pretty much with Bill Bolan in there and.
everybody that we had. So I I mean I was. very fortunate to watch like a master at. work. Now I I wish I could have seen. Bill and Tom work as well. I wish I. could have got to experience the way. that was as a punter who has a front row. seat through basically everything. Got a. chance to watch uh the last time we won. the AFC South whenever Chuck and Griggs. were building and how that went. Like I. feel like I've seen a lot. I've seen. almost a completely defeated season, almost a completely undefeated season. I. I've seen two different operations, a.
very old school. I've seen a young one. I've seen people clash. I've seen people. get along. I' I've. >> seen a rebuild. >> Seen a full rebuild. I I've seen I feel. like I was very lucky during my career. to get to see what I see. And I have a. pretty good sense of feel, I think, on. um buildings and teams. I I think that's. a pretty big part of who I am. I think. that'll go down uh later in life. And. just whenever you start seeing or. hearing things that are very um. synonymous with losers, it's hard not to.
just be like, "Hey, how you do anything. is how you do everything." This is the. highest level of competition. So if you. got people missing stuff and they're not. being held accountable for it, it's. like, well, if you see. >> who who who's that who honestly I'm dead. serious, does that fall on the head. coach? Like is that who's that fall on? >> I think that's carried through multiple. head coaches now at this particular. thing. I I think Chris Ballard really. lacked his gas. I I think he wanted it. to be a player-led organiza. I think he. wanted the players to kind of police. themselves. I think he wanted the locker. room to be like that. I think that is. how Chris Ballard kind of wished that. his team would go and then for some.
reason whatever it was with the amount. of turnover probably at the quarterback. position which is your natural leader. I. think there was a lot of people that. maybe didn't want to do it and then you. know just for one reason or another. people start missing team meetings that. are pretty important players. People. start missing treatments. People start. missing like workouts start people stop. caring. Like it just all those things. kind of just lead into a culture of like. who cares? And if you have that culture, you're never going to beat like the. Seahawks. You're never going to beat. >> no. >> Bill Bichc whenever he was running.
You're never going to beat these teams. whenever you have to in the playoffs. It. was almost like evident, you know? So. that's why whenever Danny Dimes got in. there and you're like, "Hey, this guy. works his ass off. He'll have a beer. with the boys as well. He'll kind of. lead by example and gets in there like. and the stories we were hearing had. hope. when Matt Ryan got in there, stories were here and we had hope that. there was leadership in the building and. then inevitably I think it just we got. we come too far and it just got to a. point where it was never going to be. salvageable because it's like Shane. Stiken I like Shane Stken like I I. really like Shane Styen. I think if.
Shane Styen leaves the Colts, he becomes. off offensive coordinator for a team. that's in the playoffs probably going on. to the entire thing. So it's like did. Shane Styen inherit this type of culture. and he just kind of had to fit in. because it was his first time being a. head coach and he was thankful for the. job. Like that's all you know I don't I. think that's my issue. Coach Pagano has. been in the building. I guess you would. be a better person to ask. Why do you. think a team with so much talent, so. much investment, so many contracts, so. much similarity? Why do you think they. never really had success? What would you. say it is? You don't have to out anybody.
right now. Exactly. But just. >> Well, I just I look at other examples. So I look at what's going on Herby right. now guys in New York John Harbaugh and. the Giants you know if you don't hold. people accountable like we saw what. happened with Scatabo right it's a great. you know example of okay. you're not doing things the way we're. supposed to do them you fumble whatever. it is right there's a standard and so. there's got to be consequences if. there's not consequences then you're. just going to get the same behavior over. and over and over again so he made a.
decision he sat him down then he comes. back look what he is, you know, they go. on the road, they go to Houston, they. win a win a huge overtime game down. there, they're on their buy, they're 4-2. and one. He's totally flipped that. I. worked for the guy. So, he was never. afraid to hold anybody accountable. The. first team meeting we had, you know, one. of the allars on the defense is sitting. low in his chair and he said, "Sit up.". And the guy moved about an inch and he. kicked him out of the meeting. >> This a this a Hall of Fame player in. 2008.
>> Okay. The guy told me after my first. individual drill when he first hired me. back in 2008, that's the worst indo I've. ever seen in my life. I was freaking. crushed. I wanted to fight the guy, you. know, and I said I didn't think it was. that. No, I was that was And what did I. do? I got my [ __ ] tightened up, you. know, by a lot. So he's not you can't be. afraid, but it's got to be it's got to. start with the head coach and then your. leaders, you know, your your leaders on. that team. They got to be able to have. uncomfortable conversations with their.
teammates. You know, I saw Ray I saw. these guys go around put a hand over the. guy's shoulder and say, "Look, cuz th. this ain't getting it. We need you to do. this, this, and this, and all this other. stuff outside of here. Uh-uh. You got. six months to do all that stuff, but. right now you're going to do it this. way." And those and a lot of times those. coaches in those environments that. create that culture, they don't have to, but they got to create it and they got. to get the leaders to go ahead and and. and hold each other accountable. And. when that happens, then then you make.
magic. >> But listen to this, Herby. Quinton. Nelson, quiet guy, one of our best. players. Jonathan Taylor, I don't think. he's a big loud speaky guy, quiet guy. Deorest Buckner. I don't I don't think. he's like a super we have like a all of. our good players great players were like. more introverted kind of quiet guys. So. I think then who becomes the you know. and it's I think they never had that. And with the turnover at quarterback. position who's your natural what this. guy says. >> and even even Danny Dimes is kind of a. quiet guy when he had it rolling there.
He's kind of a more reserved guy. >> So I think that's where it went wrong. I'm sorry though. >> Yeah that's great. That's that's great. insight and I Chuck I I really. appreciate you saying that giving that. example because what John Harbaugh's. done in New York I mean New York's been. struggling there for a while. You know a. lot of those are the same players and I. know they they even had a quarterback. issue in the middle of their season. I. think for fans what you just described I. think all of us sometimes underestimate. the power of that. You know we watch NFL. football and we just think these guys. are elite and you know the whoever has.
the best players is going to going to. win all the games. But you just talked. about what you and Pat just both talked. about, the culture and how some coaches. have that ability to create that. I I. think that's fascinating. The the the. grind of a 17game season, the ups and. the downs, the adversity that you face, how you get through it, how you stay. together, that that all goes back to. what the head coach creates. And for you. to use an example of a guy who's a pro. bowler, all pro guys sitting down and he.
didn't he didn't respond the way he. wanted him to and he said, you know, get. your ass out of here. I mean, I I think. people that that that blows me away that. the the great coaches have the ability. to do that. I don't think every coach, by the way, can do that to a Pro Bowl. player. I I don't I don't know how you. earn that. I guess it's maybe longevity. and winning. How do you earn that? >> Not to cut you off, but the one thing I. was going to add was connection. >> So, connection and and accountability. got to be two huge things, you know, when building a culture. And one thing. that John can do is he can connect. He.
builds relationships. So when he stepped. in that building, he started like when I. got there in '08, he was writing when I. came in to interview and and sign a. contract in '08, he was writing a. handwritten notes and letters to the. whole team cuz the team's gone, right? When you get these jobs, they're not in. the building. So he said he and and he's. got uh one for uh for Mallister, you. know, he's doing Macau, hey, you want to. say something to you know, Chris. Mallister, he says, starting corner for. us, right? You want to say so yeah, jot. this down for him, you know, blah blah. blah. But he connected. See, cuz you.
can't approach these guys and you can't. get after them unless you have a. connection. You know, they don't care. how much you know until they know how. much you care. Right? We heard Saving. say that a lot. Dick Vermile. I heard. that at a clinic thousand years ago. So, you build a connection. You build a. relationship. You let these guys know. you love them, that you'll die for them. But are also, hey, look, I'm going to. tell you when you're doing good, but I'm. also going to hold you accountable, and. I'm going to do it the right way. when I. need to call you in the office and have. a manto man, I'm going to do I'm not. going to do it in front of your peers. You do it in front of peers, you're.
going to have a fist fight on your. hands, you know, so he knows exactly. Build that relationship, hold those guys. accountable, do it the right way, and. then you see the results you can get. >> I I think the guy I think right now the. guy that's another example of that is. Mike McDonald out of Seattle. >> Oh yeah, >> he's another guy that's really a great. job of who we learn from of loving on. his guys, pouring into them, letting. them know he cares about them more than. just football players. >> John Harbaugh. John Harbaugh. >> Yeah, makes sense with that. The. Harbaugh family tree growing to McDonald. in Seattle is something that doesn't get.
talked about much. That's John. Harbaugh's coaching tree. There is. McDonald in there. Yeah. >> Uh I love Hard Knocks this year because. I loved watching McDonald. >> I loved watching McDonald. That that was. I think you mentioned that in the game. I really enjoyed watching his leadership. style cuz he's kind of reserved, but he. will. >> Oh, yeah. and he and he will chirp right. back in and there will be a little bit. of uh alphaing with the guys which he. wants and then he you know the. relationship with them so strong they.
show the meeting with all the leaders in. the thing it's like that is a guy who. gets it and I think he told I forget who. he told in an interview he said it. sometime has he ever been on this show. >> no. >> okay so it wasn't with us I was. listening to him maybe in Hardock then I. don't know I I was listening to him talk. and he said he had to tell the guys his. first year as a head coach like, "Hey, I'm not the best public speaker or. communicator, so like you're going to. have to work with me here as I get. through like very transparent about what. he's good at, what he's not good at.".
Took feedback from them, but I don't. think the boys ever thought he wasn't. the one in charge, you know, like it was. always like, "Hey, this is kind of the. way we're going to do it." What a. phenomenal coach so quickly. And I think. he wasn't necessarily like super. comfortable in the position early and uh. he's just been kind of figuring it out. as he goes and the boys have respected. him for that. >> Pat, I totally agree and I think you use. the word transparent, you know, and instead of feeling like. you have to be the guy with all the. answers that you're just real, you're.
authentic, whatever that is. Andy Reid. is just re Andy Reid is Andy Reid for. better or for worse. He's Andy Reid. You. know, I think the guys that figure it. out are comfortable in their own skin. And it allows the players to look at. them not as like, I'm the coach, you're. the player. They they there's a time. where I'm the coach and you're the. player, but a lot of the other times. they're they're they're collaborating, you know, they're working with the. players and and communicating. Look at. it. Look, I mean, that's their. leadership council. They're just hanging.
out in the coach's office. I mean, and. look, he's not by himself and everyone. else is sitting. He's in the circle with. them. I I I just think he and and he's. like you said, he's kind of like I'm. kind of I don't know if you used the. word like I don't know what word he used. like I'm not the coolest guy or whatever. he said but he's like he's just very. real in who he is and I think the. players love that about him that he's. that he doesn't hide from that. He just. accepts like this is what I am and you. know and uh anyway it's that's. fascinating stuff.
>> Yeah, definitely is. Leadership is a. crazy thing. Building a team, a. successful team is a very difficult. task, which is why there's so much. turnover at the highest levels and any. level. Uh, winning is not easy in team. sports. You got to get everybody on the. same page. It's a lot of psychology. Obviously, it's a lot of athleticism. It's a lot of strategy. It's a lot of. brain. And whenever you mix that all up. and you got it right, you can win. championships. McDonald's proved that he. can do that. John Schneider has proved. he can do that as well at general. manager. What a nice tag team those two. are, especially with their personalities. now that we know them a little bit more. Uh, at this point, Tai and Schneider had.
a three-hour affair together uh during. uh league meetings out in Arizona. Shout. out to you guys being best of friends. I'm excited you both remember all of. that conversation together. Um, but they. bring in Quinton Nelson, okay, who we. think is perfect for their. >> perfect for their culture after watching. Hard Knocks. And then Jeffrey Simmons. goes to the Bears this morning. Both. from the AFC South. These two guys have. run into each other a lot. Guess where. they start at? Monday Night Football. against each other. I I mean that is.
>> Seahawks Bears on Monday night is. potentially where we see the debut of. both these guys. What about some. familiarity amongst uh hey you know who. you're playing your first one oh the. hardest guy to play every single great I. got out of the ABC South and now that's. what Nelson is saying and Jeffrey. Simmons is saying great we just got to I. got to take on a perennial allp pro who. knows my every single move at this point. on Monday Night Football. Hey that's. what I'm saying though. so many good. players on these really bad teams. That's what we kind of see in these. trade deadlines. The teams that can get.
it all rolling. It's a it's a tough. task. Uh let's talk about that in. another sport. Milwaukee Brewers, bro. Congratulations to them. You came on. this show. Okay. You came on this show. and kind of patted a little bit about. the state of baseball. You didn't like. what baseball was doing. We're taking. the athleticism out of it. We're taking. baseball out of it. All we're trying to. do is throw the ball fast. Get a couple. guys in there that can do that. And. we're trying to hit home runs. Game. over. Wow, we put in a pitch clock. That's cool. But now we've completely. lost what baseball is. Then as the 162.
game season went on and the playoffs. went on, we all were quickly seeing that. what you were talking about the old. school baseball was winning baseball. Milwaukee Brewers kind of defined that. I think from my understanding of. everybody that's been talking about this. all year and Skipper Murphy, he's got. the boys bought in on what they need to. do entirely. And uh I think I I don't. want to speak for you. I assume you're. very happy with the two teams that made. it to the World Series and incredibly. happy for the Milwaukee Brewers winning. their first World Series. >> I I tip my cap. Well said, Pat. And you.
know, as an old school baseball guy, how. can you not appreciate the way the. Milwaukee Brewers play the game? I mean. that that you talk about in this era of. big contracts, Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, here comes two, like you said, two teams. that uh the Brewers have have almost. become the new Cardinals really in. baseball because of their consistency. I. mean, even when they don't win at all, they're they're usually right in the. mix. They have a great organization, phenomenal job. that that skipper. I. mean, what he sounds like a guy talking.
about leadership and a guy you want to. play for. He certainly comes across as. that kind of guy, but Milwaukee. welldeserved. They've been close. They. they've run run into the Dodgers usually. where the Dodgers are just so good and. hitting on all cylinders. It's tough to. overcome, but uh led by that man right. there. They just had a great year, stayed healthy, and uh fun to see them. so fun to see them finally get it done. Uh they they've been close. Uh, I. remember going way back to the Robin. Yant era and Ben Oglevie and Cecil. Cooper. So, it's cool to see them.
finally get their uh their World Series. and and Tampa Bay, man, they're like the. little engine that could, right? I mean, they got the worst facility in all of. baseball and one of the lowest payrolls. every single year and yet they always. make it to the postseason and um and. somehow always seem to be competitive. So, was it the a flamboyant World. Series, but the best team in baseball. got it done. And I was happy for. Milwaukee. >> Yeah. Hey, congratulations to the. Brewers. Couple friends of the program. >> Mhm. >> I think we'll be talking to a few of.
them here over the next couple days, maybe into next week. Incredibly happy. for them. And now we all just hold our. breath and hope that another baseball. season happens. >> Yeah, it doesn't look like it. >> Well, so we don't need to get into it. because we're not the people that should. be talking about it. But I I think what. has happened over the season and then. even the federal fraud case against the. Dodgers, all that would kind of bode. very well for the players this part of. this entire thing. But I don't think MLB. is just necessarily going to just give.
up, you know, on everything to try to. create a floor and a cap like every. other professional league has that is. successful at this stage of life and. society. I think they're going to. continue to do that. And the players are. like, "Why? We just had our best. ratings." You said it. We just had best. baseball that we've had. You have said. this. Uh more people are interested in. two teams that don't spend and defer. fraud money. Uh are the ones that make. it to the World Series. Feels like. baseball is still baseball. You'll have. the big juggernauts still that'll bring. the stars and sell out stadiums and.
maybe be on prime time and then the rest. of the league still has a chance to win. it like we've been able to show. So I I. think that's going to be quite a. standoff. Herby, I I think we're even. more in trouble now for negotiations. than we were whenever the dialed in here. on MLB, huh? >> I'm telling you, I've been paying. attention this year. They've been very. nice to us. MLB has been very nice and. hospitable to us. They've let us in to. everything. They've told us every And. then the MLB players from our. understanding, and this is a little. narcissistic. I apologize for this, but. they they all watch our [ __ ] I guess,
whenever they get into the clubhouse is. like when we're on, you know, that. So, we are in I think every single clubhouse. or most clubouses, even the Spanish. speaking guys know who we are, and they. don't even know what the hell we say. every single day. You know, I uh I I've. and I I have a I'm a pretty curious. person. I think people would uh say that. I've enjoyed learning about why baseball. is a a great sport as opposed to just. viewing it as a guy from Pittsburgh who. watched the Pirates make people. miserable for a long time and seemingly. stole money, you know, as they were. going all there outside of Jason. Kendall. Jason Kendall was the only guy.
really and uh I appreciate him and his. service. So, it's been fun to learn. about the sport, but it's also got a lot. of [ __ ] happening around it that's also. been enjoyable for Daily Sports Talk. But I I I like the sport now, Herby. I. do. And to to your point, I enjoyed. watching. >> terrain. >> go crazy. I enjoyed watching like uh a. tough at bat where you just kind of get. on base and you celebrate that as. opposed to not pulling a home run. Like. to your point about what baseball is, I've really fallen in love with the uh. the intricacies, if you will. I.
>> That's the beauty of it. That that's the. beauty of it is when you see a guy fight. one off and and and you know he's a. left-handed bat and he fights off a. slider and hits it over the shorts stop. in the in the short left field and gets. a base hit. I mean that's that's the. part of the game that you fall in love. with, you know, the the strategy and the. athletic ability. And like I said, I. mean, you go back to a guy like Tony. Gwyn, Rod Crew, those kind of guys that. were just great baseball players, you. know, and the Brewers were. representative of that. They they had a. lot of guys who were just scrappy ball.
players that uh uh never never uh you. know that's not my team but really cool. to watch them win in the style in which. they did and dominating fashion all the. way through. I mean no nobody really. hung in there with them. So uh like I. said best team in baseball. It's cool to. see them finally get that trophy in. Milwaukee. >> I think they lost two games throughout. the entirety of the postseason. Correct. >> So uh I'd say pretty good. I'd say. pretty good. Now do they win game four? They send Miz out there in the bottom of. the 12th, you know, just to get three.
outs after they take the lead in extra. innings. If if Jacob Miserowski was able. to get warmed up in I don't know what, seven minutes. >> to go throw it three a few times. >> Definitely blow his elbow out and have. to have Tommy John after the year and. >> Yeah. Yeah. Let's say that's not real. Let's say that's not a possibility. They. could have won in four, I think a lot of. people would say. Instead, get the job. done in five in the World Series. What a. time. Ty, do you agree with everything. that Herby's saying? And did you see. Skipper Murphy took quite a shot at the. New York Yankees immediately afterwards.
to one of his guys. Now, I don't think. he was looking for a microphone so the. world would hear that. I think he was. just trying to talk to his guy who's. potentially up for a contract and just. trying to recruit him back. Remember. this feeling whenever you're negotiating. what you got going on? But how do you. feel about the Brewers winning and how. do you feel about what Herby said at the. beginning of the season about what. baseball has become versus what the. season actually ended up being? >> Yeah. No, I mean I agree wholeheartedly. because that unfortunately is is how the. Yankees play and that's why it's so. frustrating when you see a team like the. Brewers and as someone who has played. baseball their whole life and has.
watched baseball their whole life like. you understand that there this is an. aspect of it and I agree with Herby like. that's what you fall in love with is. like the ninth guy in the order who no. one expects anything out of or at least. the casual fan and just battles and. battles and battles and battles with. guys on base and then shoots one the. other way and it's like god damn that. guy is an absolute that guy's a ball. player, you know, that's really all that. needs to be said. Uh so I I love seeing. the Brewers win and like they're fans, too. It's just nice having some fresh. blood, you know, especially when all. these other sports like.
>> you you know, it it kind of stinks every. every year being like, "Oh, well, it's. it's either going to be the Dodgers or. the Yankees or what, you know, it it. that takes a lot out of it if you're not. a fan of those respective teams." So. seeing a couple teams who, you know, most people probably don't want to see. there because they don't have a lot of. the uh, you know, like the the star. power and all that kind of stuff, but. they play the game the right way and. it's a perfect encapsulation of what. baseball should be. In terms of the, you. know, um, Pat Murphy stuff, I think a. lot of people don't realize too that.
Jake Bowers used to play for the. Yankees. So like that's that's part of. that too. And he's right. You know, you. have this kind of run in the postseason. like that dude who has had his story is. remarkable. He was in like, you know, really struggling through the minors for. a large chunk of his career. I think he. was in the minor for like seven years. and then like this has kind of been his. first opportunity to to really shine. He. takes it and runs with him. And like, you know, Skipper Murphy said, like, you're going to make a lot of [ __ ]. money, you know, but just remember when, you know, you sign with a team like the.
Yankees, like, and you're on a horseshit. team. Remember, like the way that you. played here, and and that's what wins. And no, that was tongue and cheek. He's. obviously not looking to start some big. controversy. He's just he's just having. a moment with one of his guys who is. about to, you know, his life changed. last night, which is pretty sweet. Um, so no, I I I loved everything Herby. said. Great season. I hope we have. another one next year. Kind of speaking. to that and moving to a different sport, Herby, when you look at college. football, I think, you know, one of the.
things we love about the 12 team format. is that it does ostensibly give multiple. different teams the opportunity to go. win a national championship, even though. a lot of times it is the same four. teams, you know, kind of h who have a. shot to win in the end. But this year, it seems like every single week we have. five to 10 top 25 teams getting beat at. where we stand right now. How many teams. do you think realistically have a chance. to win a national championship? >> I think you could go down into the teens. when you when you look at the top 25. that you know I think LSU is way down.
there. You know if if they get it sounds. like they're getting healthier. Weeks is. going to be coming back and Green the. tight end is already back. Um. it's wide open, man. I mean you could go. down there and make a case for Oklahoma. State in the Big 12, you know? I mean. Arizona, who knows? Um, it it just. depends on who's able to stay healthy. and and who starts to play their best. football. That that's what to your point. about 12 teams. I think that's what is. so cool about it is it is here we are in. the last getting into the last week of.
October and we're getting ready for. another month or so of regular season. college football and you still got all. these teams that that have hopes of. getting some guys back healthy and. trying to get it going and and they're. still in the mix. I mean, you could have. a loss right now and even two losses and. feel like if you're in one of these. power four conferences, hey, man, why. why not us, you know? Let's let's let's. let's finish strong. Let's win these. last four or five weeks and and give. ourselves a chance at a conference. championship and and we're in, you know, so, you know, I think you look at the.
odds realistically, it's like you said, you come back to Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Miami, those kind of teams. But we thought the same thing last year. and then Indiana got hot. I mean, who. what's to say, Bob Chznney and UCLA? I. mean, look at their schedule. Look at. UK's schedule. Um, you know, they. they've they both have a chance, I. think, to get into the postseason. UCLA, especially with what they're doing right. now and the schedule that they have. They'll probably be favored in most of. the games that they have remaining. Uh, how cool would that be to get UCLA,
who's never even a thought about getting. into the postseason and and I'm not. saying they have an easy walk, but they. they got games that are that are. winnable. Nevada, >> huh? >> Yeah. Here's the schedule right here for. you. >> Yeah. Yeah. Nevada going to Minnesota. would be tricky. Illinois at home. Going. to Michigan is, you know, even though. Michigan's not having a great year, it's. still a tough game. And then a rivalry. game against USC. I mean, they still got. a grind to get through, but I I think. they get to 10 and two, there's a. there's a strong chance that that uh. that the Bruins could be in there, which.
again, nobody and they don't even have. Nico. They're out there doing it with. with defense and running the football, which is just fascinating to me that you. if we would have said in August, hey, UCLA has a chance to get to 10 and two, you're thinking, wow, Nico's probably. having a Heisman year. And it's it's has. nothing to do with it, you know. And uh. Bob Chesnney, we were talking about. this, Pat and I and the rest of the game. day guys were talking about first year. head coaches. You start to go down the. line of people that are in the top teams.
that are in the top 25. Look, look at. some of these first year head coaches. that are just doing incredible work in. their first year uh of leading their. teams. What Will Stein has done uh in. Lexington, uh Wake Forest, you know, we're seeing them make a great run. Oklahoma State in their first year. So, it's been a it's been an exciting year. and uh it's only kind of setting. ourselves up for an awesome November and. December. >> Chuck Lagano is in here just throwing. his hands. You can't say Boise.
>> Don't sleep on Boise. I mean, let's go. >> No, no, no. We never sleep on the blue. turf. >> The football. >> You better beat Oregon State at home, coach. >> You better beat Oregon State at home. >> We got Texas State first, coach. One. and0 this week. >> Focus. He's on the sideline down there. for Boise State. Anytime he can get. field pass, he does, and we respect. that. You You have He has coached in a. lot of Yeah. Sorry, it's cold out there. He's coached in a lot of places. Boise. is his hope. He loves that team. Uh if. they could get in. >> What a town. >> He loves it. He He's been trying to.
recruit us to go out there for years. Go. in the mountains. I got a golf course. out there. Got. >> We should do We should do a a a fly. fishing golf trip out there. >> I just tell me. I'll set it up. Done. >> Okay. Listen. I don't know how many. Italians are out there, but that [ __ ]. will be figured out. >> Golf fly fish. >> When's it thaw out? April. >> What's that? >> When does it thaw out? >> May, June. >> We're in a banana belt. All right. It's. low. It's. >> I love the savannah belt. >> What the hell does that mean? >> It's a We're not elevation like you can. go up the mountain some valley get some. snow. were decent. April, May.
>> Okay. All right. So, we're just trying. to figure out when we're going to do it. So, we'll go. >> We never froze. >> I'm not him. I'm not talking to you. Okay. I'm just asking you a question. >> They said they're not frozen. It's like. Denver. >> Picking on me, Herby, all morning. >> Snow capture. >> That doesn't that town get voted like. the best city in America to live in? >> Caramel. Caramel, Indiana. >> Fischers. >> Fishers. Number two. Yeah. I I think. that is that goes to the towns that uh. potentially pay. >> I stay in both of those a lot now these. days. Boise one. No, you're going home. there. Stay in and fish. >> Did you go get some last night?
>> What's that? >> Did you go get some last night? >> We got Italian here now. >> Yeah, >> they got a place right across from where. I stay. What's the name of that place? >> Pugo. >> No, IT'S NOT. hot from the glass again. >> That was right here. Call. Yeah. Fasilinis. >> Faselini. No. What's the name of that? >> Oh my god. >> Altavia or something. Mama mia. >> They got They got a bonis. They got a bowl of A's and a meatball. >> Okay, I love it. Uh, Coach Herby, we're. going to ask you more college football.
questions. We'll get to that next week. Is that Peter there? Is that. right here looking out Lambo? >> Guy doesn't speak. >> What? What language? There he is. >> Love you, Pete. >> All right, Peter. We thought that's what. language does speak. I don't know if we. bark in the right language. >> He's German point. >> You're right. No, I think I don't know.
if he's German. >> BETTER NOT BE. >> AGREED. >> BUTIN. All right. Uh Herby, good luck. tonight. We can't wait to watch you. See. you soon, Peter. Be a friend. Tell. friends something nice about change of. life. We're back on the other side. Goodbye. Obviously, the kicking is easy contest. has become quite a spectacle. And today. we have an opportunity to do something. special with my man named. >> James Whitehead. >> Okay. James Whitehead. Where you from,
brother? >> Pennsylvania. >> Okay. What year are you? >> I'm a freshman. >> What's your major? >> Finance. >> Okay. Finance major. Wow. Good financial. move as a college student with a great. mustache, I might add. That mustache was. born for days like today. With no shoes. on, just like Connor from last week, you. will have an opportunity to win $1. million. >> Here's the one catch.
>> He has never kicked a football in his. life. >> Yeah. Have you ever kicked before? >> No. >> Have you ever played soccer before? >> I did play soccer. >> Okay. >> Wait a minute. Okay. Were you like an. ass soccer player or were you pretty. good? I was uh I was decent. Got a lot. of concussions, so I couldn't play. anymore. >> Oh, I like that. Just throwing the head. around. You're supposed to use your. feet. Mad respect. Okay, so what is your. uh what are the lads telling you about. potentially making today's kick? Have. you prepared for this? >> Uh I called my kicker from back home. Asked for a few tips, but uh besides.
that, I'm just going to I'm just going. to go with it. >> Okay, you got it. I think you just close. your eyes and swing as hard as you. possibly can. Let that mustache ride you. to success. >> One question. Have you ever kicked any. ball barefoot in your life? >> Oh, yeah. Okay. So, you're com you're. comfortable with this? >> I've never tried kicking a football, but. we'll see. Hopefully, I can put it. straight. >> All right. Hopefully, you can, James, for $1 million. Now, I must say, >> hey, >> hey, we can't we can't be doing multiple. kicks whenever there's $1 million on the.
line. If this guy misses, >> no second chance. No second chance. >> Hey, now before he goes, before he goes, are you ready? HELL YEAH. DAMN RIGHT. ALIGHTY. Who the hell ARE WE? HEY, FINN. BAM. OH, MISS by damn. Let's go,
>> James. I got it. >> How long have you known that? >> I just found it out this morning. I feel. pretty good about it. >> You nailed it. You. >> Thank you. All right, you got this. >> Nice shirt. Nice jersey there, >> Herby. This is the first top 10 LSU Miss. regular season match since 1962. Lane Kein COMING BACK INTO TOWN. $1. MILLION FOR MUSTACHE J FRESHMAN.

tables here at Boston Connor and at Tai. Schmidt one half of the hammer Don. Cowboys AP Tone is here and a Matt is. joining us live from Manatak in Ohio. He's a former president of the state of. Ohio. He is a college football national. champion. He's a Super Bowl champion. He's a Rder Cup winner and the all-time. leading tackler for the Green Bay. Packers. Will they wish they had him. tonight? >> Yeah, >> we'll see. Ladies and gentlemen, AJ. Hawk. >> Baby Hawk. >> Hawk. >> Ho. Uh, on nights like tonight when the. Packers are in Lambo in prime time.
against the Panthers in a must-win game, you know, can't lose backto back games. in four days if you're the Packers. Does. it not make you want to strap it back. up? Will you watch this game tonight. with pads on and a helmet on? How do you. kind of view yourself as a viewer of. this evening's Packers game against the. Panthers? >> Uh, no. I think I'm far enough removed. where I'm not sitting there watching in. my uh full pads like helmet and shoulder. pads. I guess I never never really did. that even when I was only a couple. months done from playing football. But. you know what? It's uh I no no no.
disrespect to anybody that wants to do. that, but I feel uh I don't I know. Chuck's given, you know, a little bit of. his thoughts, but I I don't know if he's. going to sway me. I'm feeling in a. certain direction uh for this game. tonight, and I think it's a good time. for I think Josh Jacob's going to have a. good night. >> Okay, Josh Jacob's going to have a good. night because Carolina Panthers can't. stop the damn run. Is that what. everybody's thinking? Well, can the. Packers block for the damn run? I guess. that would be the question. Chuck. Bagano, can a team that is the worst in. the league at running get a running back. back who's good but hasn't been in game. shape or playing shape and in a 4-day.
period go from 11 rushes to maybe 20 to. 25 rushes and have that be a big piece. of the offense? Is that something the. Packers will be trying to do? Do you. think it's possible with the offensive. line they have? How do you kind of view. what the Packers are going to try to do? >> I I think they have to. I 11 carries, 10. or 11 carries in the first out, you. know, game back last week. a lost to. Detroit. You'd be crazy not to. You got. the 32nd ranked rush defense coming to. town. Short week. They had to travel. You didn't. You got your running back. back. Let's knock some people off the. damn line of scrimmage and get this cat.
going cuz then it's going to open up cuz. cuz Ezro EJ, he's going to come in and. say, "Okay, you guys can't run the ball. You average 50 yards a game.". >> Not a Z. I think it's I think it's Evo. >> Evo. Yeah. >> Yeah. You called him Ezro. >> It's not DJ. Sorry. >> Respect. I [ __ ] you sure. I'll do that every once in a while. You. just got to happens. It just happens. >> But they'd be crazy. Not so he's going. to play too high like Kirk talked about,
right? And and keep Watson and Golden. and and Tucker, all these guys, right, from hitting explosives on them and and. play a light box. Okay, you're going to. play a light box, then I'm going to hand. it to this dude. All right. And see if. you can stop it. So, I sure hope they. they they run the ball cuz he'll have to. put somebody down and then we can feast. on the outside. Remember, Carolina's. secondary is beat to crap. They're. missing dudes. They don't they they. ain't got a great secondary right now. >> JC Horns on IR. >> Mhm. >> I don't like that. If you're a Panthers,
you don't like that. But I do like it. for a boost tonight. AJ, how do you feel. about the team ride this evening? 220. pass yards after what I just heard Chuck. say. Sounds like the Packers are going. to want to run the ball. Hopefully. Jordan Love's still able to open it up. Maybe a couple swing passes. Josh. Jacobs, maybe a little couple uh screens. to Josh Jac, maybe a couple little under. routes to Josh Jacobs, and then maybe. you get Golden running across and Watson. running across and all of a sudden that. cover two has got you a little bit. dancing. They're on different levels and. we're out the gate 220 maybe on four. passes. How do you feel about that as uh. Bryce Young is second in the NFL in pass.
yards uh this season, 285 he averages. per game. How do we feel about the team. ride tonight, AJ? I If you don't like. it, just act like you lost. Connection. >> No. So, I actually really enjoy this. Like, I'm I'm all for this. I think. tonight it's going to be a beautiful. like Halloweeny night in Lambo. Beautiful crisp fall night. I think. they're going to be letting it fly. I. said that about uh the Packers run the. ball. I just think they're going to be. committed to the run. I think they're. going to want to get Jacobs going. So, we're going to see him. They're going to. feed him hopefully early, but he's going.
to catch a couple screen passes, get, you know, oh, here we go. 45 yard screen. pass he takes. Things like that, I. think, will easily get us over this. Hey, uh AJ, you've been doing something. for us as we've been chitchatting with. Kirk Herbstreet about tonight and gamble. responsibly if you want to join us uh on. DraftKings, the best sports book on. earth. Uh it's coast to coast. It's. available. That is our boost. We're. appreciative of it. As we move on, you. were keeping us updated as we were live. on the WNBA finals game happening down. there in Atlanta. I do believe Atlanta. has a double- digit lead right now. Really? >> Yeah, they've been on a bit of a run.
here as the Atlanta Dream have been. taking on the Valkyries. ushers in the. building down there and he's saying you. remind me of a girl that. >> he's not talking about a championship. because that could be won by the. Valkyries today in the afternoon. Instead, it feels like the Atlanta Dream. might be extending it. Uh in the back. there's been a lot of scrambling. I. don't know if we have any of the. highlights. >> WE'RE TIED UP RIGHT NOW. >> We got a couple of guests on the line. here. >> Oh, okay. Uh well, joining us. >> there's a tied up. You guys are tied up.
like technologically not the game is. tied up. >> Sorry. Yeah, we may have a champion on. the line here here soon. >> Oh, really? I didn't know that was the. case. Uh. >> there's a game on. >> Holy hell. >> There is Bruce. >> Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now. live from a bus. Uh I do believe. is the the entire Milwaukee Brewers. Uh. Bryce Terang, TREVOR MIGUEL. HEY, I LOVE I LOVE THAT your first.
thought after winning the World Series. is to point at somebody in the stands. and seemingly [ __ ] them. You're. the best, dude. Congratulations. >> No, no, no. I was I was waving at my. family. That was for my wife and my. daughter. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. See, I'm happy we. cleared that. I promise. >> Hey, how was it mentally last night. trying to uh clinch a World Series, brother? Obviously, a lot of big time. pitches in your life whenever you go in. as a closer. You get a chance now to win. the World Series. What did it feel like. before the final out? What did it feel. like before the final inning? >> Uh, it felt calm. You know, this is this.
is everything we worked for this year. >> I know. I know. >> We had all the confidence in the world. going into that ninth. I had a great. defense behind me and it couldn't have. been any better that Terra was the one. to catch that ball. >> Yeah. Tell me a little bit about Terra. I watched him uh get like four straight. outs I think in game four. He looks like. a magician with the glove. He's won the. platinum glove, but he's not the only. one. feels like your entire team are. gold gloves. Can you tell me why your. culture is the way it is and why doesn't.
every team do what you guys do? >> Um, everybody on this, he puts their. body on the line every single day and. that's the standard we have here in. Milwaukee. That's why, man. >> Tell me about Skipper Murphy a little. bit. He talked a little bit of [ __ ]. about the Yankees in an off uh camera. moment that everybody has talked about. He doesn't do handshakes whenever the. intro. >> Feels terrible, Pat. He feels terrible. >> Does he really? He. >> Oh, no. That cut him off. The Yankees. This is the Yankees cut. >> Apologize at some point.
>> Oh, no. Go ahead. What' you say, Trevor? We lost you. >> I couldn't hear you. What's that? >> WE LOST YOU. WE LOST you whenever you. said he feels terrible. I think you're. >> Oh, yeah. I'm sure he'll apologize to. Cash and all the all the people over. there. U you know, he he genuinely he. feels terrible about it. >> Okay, let's go back in time before this. game. Uh, you guys get lose in the. bottom of the 12th, which none of us. could have expected. You go to a game. five, Brewers fans still pack that place. out. Miz on the bump. What is the convo.
from Skipper Murphy to you guys about. getting the job done? Was it any. different than like regular season. games? How do you kind of view those. types of nights? >> No. Um, you know, after game four, Yelli. got everybody together, reminded. everybody this thing's hard for a. reason. Um, you know, just gave us the. peace of mind. Go home, get some sleep, come back. the next day and uh that's. what we did. You know, offense bangs, they did they did their job. It was. sick. >> It was sick. >> All right. Congrats on winning the World.
Series. Please tell the boys. We said uh. we appreciate the run they just went on. out there. >> Oh, you can tell them right now, man. >> BOYS. >> YEAH, BOYS. YEAH. ALL RIGHT. A LOT OF. WATERS, FELLAS. YEAH. >> HEY, TOKEN. HEY, uh real quick. >> Hey, Miguel. Hey, could you tell uh you. I know you speak a little bit of. Spanish. Can you tell Contrarus [ __ ] you. for the World Baseball Classic, but. congratulations on the uh World Series. >> Latinos, this is for you.
>> Is it for me? >> Hey, okay. Yeah. Okay. >> Hey, uh can you tell Contrarus please I. didn't like what happened in the World. Baseball Classic? playing. >> HEY, hola me amigo. >> Hey, I know you. >> Yeah, you do. You. >> remember? >> Yeah, I do remember. >> Hey, congrats, dude.
>> Thank you, man. I appreciate it. >> Yeah. World Baseball Classic and a World. Series in the same year. Pretty. impressive. >> Everything. I did everything for this. year. >> Really good year. >> Enjoy it all. You've earned it, brother. >> Thank you, man. Good to see you guys. Uh, hey. Hey, hey, can I ask you one. last question? One last question for. Bill, please. >> Hey, we got Commissioner Gordon right. here. >> That's our commissioner. >> Yeah. Okay. All right. Hey, can you can. you give me back to Bill Contrus, please? Real quick.
>> Sorry. What? >> Can you give me back to Contrarus real. quick, please? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> He needs to again. amigo. Migo Greeno here. Hey, Dingo. here. Hey. Uh, I know you speak a lot. better English than you were putting off. on the stage, so let's just do this real. quick. Hey, the ABS thing, you became a. real weapon for the ABS. What was it? Did you have a good feel for it all. season or just in the playoffs? >> Magic. I think magic. I feel like I have. all the like I control everything in. during this during the series and really.
glad to have all the success. >> All right. Sweet. YEAH. HEY, MUCH. GRACIAS. OKAY. YEAH, EVERYBODY. EVERYBODY, see you, dude. You're the. best. Okay. Uh, hey Miguel, thank you. for that. Congrats to you guys. Enjoy. all this, brother. >> Of course. Have a good one. Cheers, guys. See you soon, Milwaukee. >> Hey, congrats. Cheers. That's World. Series champions, Milwaukee Brewers. >> Yeah, >> that's hilarious. >> That was awesome. >> That was great. >> Yeah, they were losing their mind in the. back back there. >> We're like, uh, >> still boozed up. >> Hey, can you please get the WNBA.
highlights in? Here's me and Contrarus. before the World Baseball Classic as he. hit he just hit one in BP off the LED. board in the back and I said, "We don't. need that." and he turns around he goes. all night or something like that and. then in the eighth or ninth inning when. they're about to win it he stares me. down from the dugout and just starts. going ponche at me with where I was. sitting in incredible character. incredible moxy and that Brewers team I. think uh utilized all of it from all of. their roster and uh what a win for them. man. >> nice boys are having a good time.
>> yeah they should cuz they should that's. awesome to see what's going like what's. up what's going. >> ke I need to start doing that a little. bit Klo. >> Klo. >> Mhm. K. >> What? >> Lo K. >> What? The what? >> Basically. >> Tell him the Spanish speaker. >> I'm just finding it out now. >> He is fluent. Yeah. >> Yeah. My Spanish name in high school was. Pos. That means peace. >> Antonio P. >> Yeah. >> Shout out Senñor Alex. Antonio. >> Italian. >> Huh? >> How about Italian? >> They don't offer it. I just speak that. fluently from birth, bro.
>> It was very interesting. Uh, you woke up. speaking it. >> I'd love to hear that. >> Came in said gati to your dad. >> I like to do it on air. Yeah, I. understand. But it is weird that they. didn't have Italian and plum. >> That feels like a bad neighborhood. >> I don't want to spread that language, >> but they are It's already. >> true. >> I mean, literally every other student, maybe two out of three students walking. into those doors are Italian. >> Yeah, >> you would think the Italian language. >> I I think they thought that, you know, it would go farther um in life with.
Spanish. Spanish. I understand. French I. don't get at all. >> Yeah, I took French. I I haven't really. been able to use it yet. >> Well, I was in Morocco at that one time. They called. >> There you go. Two countries have. >> only gross and I heard him say some. other stuff. >> Comprehend. And I was Jeel Yum Yum. My name was Yum. Yum in high school. >> Shout out to uh. >> Madmoiselle. Favorite part. >> something, you know. It was great. Good. times. All right, let's pivot away from. baseball, I guess. And the WNBA. >> Talking about titles here. >> I was going to say, can we get another. update?
>> Wow. I see the update on the tickers. 44-19 Atlanta Dream. >> 9:30 a.m. tip off. >> We knew that was going to be a problem. >> Nice scheduling. >> Jesus, >> Charlie. >> That's Anglestone football. Chuck, >> my name is Anglebert. And allegedly the. WWE had opened up some uh availabilities. as well. It feels feels like Here's a. live look as the Atlanta Dream 46 to 21. It is 1:22 Eastern time. It is currently. the second quarter. Only a few minutes. left here on USA E and Sci-Fi. This is.
for it all. World championship on the. line. If the Valkyrie are to get a win, they would take home the title in the. afternoon. Instead, the Atlanta Dream. continuing to be dominant on defensive. side. I assume Angel Ree is back to. scoring a bunch of points. Is this going. to become a real series? We find out at. about 200 p.m. Eastern time today on if. it extends or if the Valkyries are. champs. Shout out to WNBA. It's only a. matter of time before the Fever win. >> Cut away soon as a deep three. That. could be the 50, you know, run. >> It was a miss. It was a miss. >> It was a miss. And they were going back. the other way. They are walking the ball.
down the court. Timeout now for the. Atlanta Dream as there is 2 minutes and. 31 seconds left before half up 20. >> All right. >> Um, >> joining us now is a man who's going to. talk about a championship this weekend. that's happening. >> Gave seven, >> maybe. We don't know. That's TBD. There is a big time championship for the. big time horses this weekend. >> Oh, >> ladies and gentlemen, it is Breeders Cup. weekend coming up. These are the adult. horses. These horses would smack every. Kentucky Derby horse. right in the gift.
horse. >> Wow. >> Mouth. >> Ladies and gentlemen, hockey legend. We'll also be chit chatting about some. of the stories around the NHL. Horse. owner, friend of the program. They call. him Big Horno. Ladies and gentlemen, Eric Johnson. >> What's up, boys? >> What a beauty. >> Yeah, Horno. How we doing? Big Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you'd be a jockey and. a horse. That'd be a first time for. everything if you were riding yourself. out there. A horse on a horse, of. course. Uh big one this weekend with the.
breed Oh, it is you, Horno. Horno. Oh, we got the hat on. >> What's up, fellas? >> Hey, great to see you. Happy hockey. season. Happy Breeders Cup weekend. Can. you tell me a little bit about the. Breeders Cup? Every year whenever we. talk about this, we realize these are. the actual fastest horses on Earth. They're the more mature horses. Kentucky. Derby is like 2-year-olds. This is. three-year-olds and older. Can you tell. me what we should expect and how excited. you are for this particular race? Do you. have any ponies in there? I do not, but. I'm a sick degenerate gambler.
Responsibly, of course. And it is it's. the it's the best gambling. It's the. best horse racing. They have the. Breeders Cup Classic on Saturday. Richest race in North America. 7 million. dollar purse. So, tomorrow it's Future. Stars Friday. Those will be like the uh. those will be like the Derby horses next. year. So, they're two-year-olds this. year. So, those will be Derby horses. next year. But just the Keeland is like. the Augusta of horse racing as far as. the track and the experience. Lexington. is is fantastic. So, I know you guys are. busy with college football this weekend,
but tune in if you can. It's going to be. an awesome weekend. >> You got it. These are the fastest horses. in the world. I guess there's uh a. Japanese horse uh Forever Young. >> Oh, >> it wants to be Forever Young. >> That's the favorite. A lot of people are. saying fastest horse in the world. And. then there's two former Derby winners. racing in the Breeders Cup which for the. first time in forever as well. Right, Horno? >> Yeah. I want to do a little buy, sell, hold with the Breeders Cup Classic. So, sovereignty Kentucky Derby winner two.
years ago, Golden Tempo Kentucky Derby. winner this year, and then I'm going to. buy on Nightsbridge. He hasn't really. beaten a ton of tough competition, but. I'm going to buy on Nightsbridge. I'm. gonna sell on Golden Tempo and I'm kind. of gonna hold on sovereignty. So those. would kind of be the middle of the road. horses and then Forever Young is going. to be the favorite. So for me, my pick's. going to be Nightsbridge, but a little. buy, sell, hold there. But I think. Forever Young is going to be really.
tough. But if you want a little value, I'd go Nightsbridge. I think he's got. the speed to wire the entire field. So. we'll see what happens. >> Okay. So are some of these horses late. bloomers? For instance, Forever Young, not in the Kentucky Derby, was in. Kentucky Derby, didn't win in Kentucky. Derby, then becomes a much faster adult. horse. How do we get to this point of. Breeders Cup not having Derby winners in. it every single year? This the first. time there's been two Derby winners. competing in the Breeders Cup since. when, Bruce Brown? >> 1991. >> You would think that'd be every time, right? Fast horse is fast horse. If it.
continues to race, it continues to race. These horses just develop differently or. how does it work? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think. Forever Young just lost by a head or a. nose in the Kentucky Derby to Mystic Dan. and Sierra Leon. I think he did. I could. be wrong, but Forever Young, these. Japanese horses. So, what's happened. over the last 20 years, you guys, is. Japan has come over and maybe even. longer than that. They've bought a ton. of American blood stock, breeding stock, females, and they've imported them and. exported them out into Japan and bred.
them to their stallions there. So. they've taken a lot of American. bloodlines, moved them over to Japan, bred them to their stallions, and. they've had a ton of success in the. Breeders Cup. So Forever Young is, he. was a good younger horse, he's an even. better older horse now. So he's going to. be tough to beat in the classic, but I. mean, it's an absolutely loaded field, you guys. It's going to be freaking. awesome. >> Forever Young came in third at the Derby. by a length, I believe, is the proper. term to describe that. Uh, tomorrow, the. Future Stars, Saturday, the Breeders. Cup. What time and where can we watch.
all this? Horno, do you know? >> Yes, sir. NBC, Peacock, uh, Breeders Cup. has a great streaming service, Twin. Spires, DraftKings, all these places. You can bet, you can watch, and um, it's. just going to be awesome. So, tune in on. Peacock, NBC all weekend long, and I'll. be there representing. I can't wait. It's it's a fantastic show they put on. So, if you guys get a get a minute, um, definitely tune in. And there's a couple. hockey ties in tomorrow, too. Jack. Hughes, Hughes, the the horse, is the. favorite in the juvenile. And uh Coach.
Pope, we got a basketball tie too in the. juveniles. So we got some sports ties. all over the place and it should be. awesome. I can't wait. >> Huy uh is good horse. >> All right, Horno, I appreciate that you. uh horno horse there, you know. Got What. would you be? Would you be a a juvenile. or are you an old horse ready to kind of. uh jog your way around the augusta of. horse racing? >> I'd be a geline. No, no testicles.
>> That's That's just the facts. I mean, that's a. >> Yeah, that's You had an option to choose. anything. Could have been a stallion. Could have been a Clydesdale, too. Said, "I'm not a racer. I'm more just like a. chiller Bud Budweiser commercial.". Instead, you said, "Give me the one with. no testicles." Why is that? Why is that. the one that's uh most relatable to you? >> Well, you know, if you're a stallion, there's someone that deals with you. called the entering man. And I don't. want the entering man near me.
>> I understand. Yeah, the entering man's. helping out a lot of businesses. They. actually took the entering man, it. sounds like, uh, over to Japan and and. helped out with some American value. We. appreciate you, Horno. Okay, let's talk. a little hockey, shall we? >> Horse. Put the horse aside. >> Yeah. Switching to pocket. >> Put the horse into the stable. >> Put the helmet on. >> Yeah. Get the pocket on. >> Yeah. And let's let the lettuce flow. here for the hockey talk. A lot of. drama. Hallebec traded. Larkin once. traded. Feels abnormal for hockey. Is. this louder than it's ever been to start. an NHL season with guys in places that.
they're at? >> 100 100%. Like you've seen all these. superstars ask out of their current. markets. Hleabuk wanted out. Larkin. still wants out. He's stuck in Detroit. Brady Kachchuck left Ottawa. And you. know, we talked about this a couple. weeks ago before the home opener, excuse. me, the season opener. And you know, I. don't think this is exclusive to guys. wanting out of Canadian markets with. Kachuk and Hlebuck. I like if those. teams were contenders, those guys would. stay put. So, you know, the other thing. is these guys won the Olympic gold medal. for Team USA. They came back to their.
Canadian markets and their fans booed. them when the national anthem was. playing. So, like, you know, you do. things like that and I feel like guys. are going to feel a little bit slighted. and then they want it out and and that's. kind of where we're at now. We'll see. what happens with Larkin in Detroit, but. um you know, status quo there for now, but yeah, it's been noisy and there's. been there's been a lot of drama for. sure. >> AJ has a question for you. Horno. Yeah, Horno, don't look now, but the Blue. Jackets have won three out of their last. five. They're really turning it around. They take on the Canes uh tonight. I. believe that goalie has been standing on.
his head. They said he's eight and0 in. every game he's played this year so far. How do you think this game goes? You. think the Blue Jackets have really. turned the corner? >> Yeah, AJ. I mean, I I want to love. Columbus. I really do. But I just feel. like they get in this cycle of they get. they get just before they get really. good, their top guys want out. Like you. saw it with so many guys over the years. like Rick Nash and then Marenko and. there was the rumors about Warensky this. summer wanting out. They had a trade. lined up to send him to Dallas and then.
it got blown up at the last second. So I. just feel like Columbus is kind of. always surrounded in some type of. controversy and and I don't know what it. is cuz you know it's a great city. Um. they love their sports and I I think. they're kind of knocking on the door of. being like maybe a wild card team this. year if they can get in there. But, you. know, it's it's too bad because it's a. great market and they fill out that. building and and that god that damn. cannon. You you know what that's like. when they score. Scares the [ __ ] out of. me. But, um I want to like Columbus, but. it just feels like they're kind of in. this cycle of,
>> you know, rinse and repeat with their. star players wanting out. >> Yeah, it's hard to because they're not. good at hockey inevitably. So, I. understand we all want to kind of like. them. We all appreciate the uh Columbus. Blue Jackets. We love the cannon. We. like the passion. We like the people. Team just kind of stinks. Uh so, we're. going to have to get that figured out. Maybe long term they do. Let's talk. about the greatest maybe on ice right. now. Go ahead, Ty. >> Yeah, Horno. Uh McDavid has been. exceptional to start this season. It. seems like he's scoring, you know, three. to five points every single game. Is. this pace sustainable? Like are we.
thinking that he can do this the entire. season? And does he have to do this in. order for Edmonton to win a cup? >> I mean, it doesn't hurt, right? But he's. on pace for over 200 points. I mean, I. don't know if Gretzky's point record is. in play, but it's close. And if he keeps. up this pace, what a run that'll be to. follow down the stretch. I mean, you. know, I didn't think there was another. level for him to get to. But apparently. there is cuz he's hit it this year. I. mean, I can tell you like trying to. defend this guy when I was playing. against him, like I should have had a.
diaper on because he makes you want to. [ __ ] your pants. He's coming at you that. fast. Like I'm not kidding. He's. unbelievable. Just the way that just the. way. >> Yeah. A little diaper underneath the. pads there. E. >> Yeah, there's a little cloth diaper, boys. But uh yeah, um he's just. unbelievable. Finds a way to keep. getting better. So great for the league. I hope he can win a cup. Uh I don't know. if it'll be in Edmonton or not, but he's. taken the biggest home count hometown. discount of any player in really the NHL. history to try and win a Stanley Cup. So. we'll see what can happen. >> Let's continue to talk about the studs.
Conan has a question for you. >> Yeah, Horno. Uh Gavin McKenna, number. one overall pick to the Maple Leafs this. year. He had two goals last night. He's. had a hot start to his career so far. What do you think about the Maple Leafs. thus far? They've been, you know, it. feels like solid overall. The East is. kind of stacked up top, but do you think. the Maple Leafs have a chance this year. to turn it around, maybe not disappoint. all of Toronto in Canada? >> Totally agree. Totally agree. And you. know, John Chaikica came in their new. general manager. He replaced Brad Tree. Living and he really really revamped the. entire team. So, you know, they were.
kind of getting older and maybe a little. slower and I think they've kind of. gotten a little bit younger and a little. speedier and McKenna has a lot to do. with that. and and let me be honest, it. what he's going through, first overall. pick in the biggest hockey market in the. world, it it's very very difficult. And. so I've been impressed with how he's. been able to step in there. You know, I. think the big thing for him is he. doesn't have to be the guy, right? Austin Matthews can be the guy. Willie. Knander can be the guy. So he doesn't. have to be the savior. He just has to.
play well and get Toronto into the. playoffs so they have a chance. But I. like what Toronto's done. I think they. can knock on the door in the Atlantic. But for me, it's Boston that's kind of. the team that I'm really watching. And. they've been unbelievable to start this. season and they're kind of who I'm. buying right now. >> Buy them big time. Remember, plus 10,000. to start the to start the season to win. the cup. So disrespectful. We got the. best, youngest, brightest core. And I. mean, me and Ty talk about every. morning. Jimmy Hegel has got the touch. Jimbo Hagens is a superstar. Look out.
for the bees all year long. >> And who's Janet? Janet. He's fighting. Jano. >> Yeah. Toughest son of a [ __ ] in the. NHL. That's his name. Look, I mean, heavyweight battle here. This is no. joke. And what's he do? Knocks his. helmet off with a right hook here. Bang. Okay, now what? Now what's going to. happen? Tanner Jan's got to line you up, lad. This was a hell of a fight against. the Stanley Cup champs, mind you. >> Uh, so we got a tough team up there in. Boston. >> Tough team. Gritty team. You know what. they have? Sandpaper jam. You know what.
they don't have? Cement in their. freaking skates at any time. Okay, let's. not talk about cement in skates at this. stage of the season because it's very. early. How are the Pens doing? Are we. Are we winning? Are we going to win. Staten Cup this year, the Pittsburgh. Penguins or No. >> Uh, you're not. And I think you're going. to probably be selling at the deadline. And trust me, >> who we selling? >> What's that? >> Who we selling? >> I They're going to have to make some. tough decisions. I think they're going. to have to look at Trading Carlson at. the deadline. I don't think they're. going to be able to resign him. We'll. see. But, you know, how long is that.
window open for Pittsburgh? Like, it's. been shrinking and shrinking and. shrinking the older that Crosby and. Malikin and Latang gets. So, I don't. know. It's I think um Kyle Dubis is. going to make some tough decisions. I. don't know what they're going to do. The. league needs Pittsburgh to be good. It's. so good for the NHL to have Crosby in. the playoffs. So, I don't know what. they're going to do, but I think they're. going to be sellers come deadline. >> You're the man. We appreciate you. Good. luck this weekend at the Breeders Cup. I. hope you win every responsible bet that. you place. And I appreciate you for the. Knights Bridge pick that I'm certainly.
going to ride with on Saturday. Forever. Young though, that American Japanese. horse over there. >> Mhm. >> Tough. Tough. Runs really well. >> I don't like what they're doing. >> What's that taking our. >> He's not a galdian either. Intact. >> Huge nuts. >> How's he run? How's he run like that? >> I don't know. It's That's the thing. about these Breeders Cup horses. They're. used to that. >> Tape them up, >> you know? They're used to. >> running with five legs. the man. It's. Eric Johnson.
>> All right. >> Stealing American blood. >> Yeah, >> there's got to be a law against that. >> They're taking our Phillies and taking. them over there to their time. >> It's [ __ ]. >> Imagine what they're paying. >> Oh, selling off Phillies. I mean, cuz. aren't the Stallions where all the. money? The studs where all the money is, right? Allegedly. And now Japan's like, "Excuse me, actually, we need some. mommies that are a little bit more uh. into the race world." crazy uh that we. hadn't pieced that together in the last. couple years because the Japanese horses. have started become a bit of more of a. storyline, right, in the horse racing.
world as we wrap this up. Bruce Brown. >> Yeah, I don't know the the full ins and. outs of it, but I know that there are. American breeders and American. thoroughbred owners that are worried. that um as we keep shipping our best. stallions and our best mayors to Japan, like it's kind of diluting our American. thoroughbred stock. Um, >> but you know, it's a good opportunity. for Golden Tempo and Sovereignty to. knock off Forever Young here. >> It's so stupid. >> It don't matter. Just here. This what. we're going to give. Here's a Oh, yeah. Go ahead. >> Where's Repastime?
>> Sleeping at the wheel. >> He's getting ready for a big season. >> Rapoli is not letting his horses go to. Japan. >> I hope not. >> Well, of course not. But he needs to say. like, "Hey, uh-uh. You sons of [ __ ]. need to stop doing this." Okay. >> We're shutting off horse planes to. Japan. Exactly. Yeah. Maybe all planes. Gig Baffford's doing that. >> Shabooya. You think they're coming from? >> Keep our horses home. >> We have been to Shabuya. There's no. horses that should be allowed in. Shabuya. No, that's the busiest. crosswalk in the world. Five-sided.
packed building to building every time a. green light. >> How many people they say? >> I forget that. >> Goes through that. >> Shrink the game. >> Thank you. >> This is a shrink the game moment. >> People forget. Speaking of uh busy city. intersections and and horses and. welfare, uh the carriages are done in. Central Park. So, that's. >> good. Oh, >> man. I we last time we. >> Those horses were miserable, man. >> I I don't care. I like that. That's a. good charm. Good part of New York City. Especially if you're from the Midwest,
you want to get on one of those horse. carriages in the [ __ ] winter. So, what if these things are dropping dead? They know what they signed up for. >> Oh, no, they don't. >> [ __ ] up. >> No, they don't. I don't think they know. what they signed up for. >> Well, sorry. Then learn to read and. write so you can say I don't want to do. They were trying to off themselves when. we were there last time. Well, yeah. I. mean, in the middle of summer when it's. all 75, that's a difference. >> They were the most miserable looking. since I saw that orangutan down there at. the Indianapolis Zoo. I had seen a more. miserable animal than those.
>> But you haven't seen them around. Christmas. That's what made the. >> You haven't seen a They're very happy at. Christmas. You're right. >> Thank you. >> I've been there. >> You think? Yeah. Yeah. It's like Dr. >> Are you sure they're not pulling their. >> They might be, but I I choose to think. otherwise. And look how happy that damn. horses that he's, you know, getting. letting me get in the. >> What do they need to do? Learn how to. read. >> Learn how to read and write. Sign a. petition. Say, "I'm not doing this. anymore. This is bullshit.". >> Union. >> Yeah, I think they did. That's how this.
got stopped. No, it's the people, you. know, driving the carriages who when. these things get hot and over tired and. fall over and then the [ __ ] whole. thing collapses on these guys and breaks. their legs and hips. Those are the guys. who are mad. The horses love doing it. >> You think it's. >> Yeah, it's a it's a service. >> You think this is over because the the. person driving it, >> the person driving the carriage. >> Too many of those guys have broken legs, hips, you know, etc., etc. >> They're saying it's too dangerous. Yeah,
>> cuz the horses can't survive what. they're. >> What are those guys going to do now? It's a full-time job. >> They're pissed. They're coming out and. they are very, very. >> Yellow cab. >> Exactly. Do we not care about those. guys? >> Time to drive taxis, maybe. >> Yellow cab is exactly what I thought. >> I would like to say. >> good luck getting the medallion. >> Yeah, right. >> No chance. >> I would like to say. >> world needs plenty of bartenders. >> Two weeks. >> I don't know if that's what they want to. do. Um, I will say as Bruce Brown, who.
lived in the city for a long time, uh, was with us every time we went to New. York. Every time he saw one of them, he. made us all look at how depressed the. horse was. Every single time he said, "There's like a big movement to get. these horses off these streets." And we. would have to go through the whole song. and dance every time. And he finally did. reach me. I I did start looking at those. horses. Those things were miserable. I I. mean, those ponies did not want to be. there at all. And then you look at the. people that are riding in it. It's like. these horses are trying to poop at the.
exact time you're on there. So like they. can get a little bit of spite on you. I. didn't know they'd actually go through. with it. I thought that business was way. too robust to kind of shut it all down. Now Ty, you're just going to have to. walk around. >> That's as important to what New York is. as the stock exchange or the Yankees or. the. >> It is. >> right up there. >> It is. >> Now they're going to Are they going to. shoot these horses now? We know what. happens when you go out of commission. What are you going to do about the. people on the rickshaws? We going to. shoot those guys in the head, too, cuz. they're too tired of riding, you know,
their little carriages on their bikes. We getting rid of those guys as well. Those are massive. >> We have those downtown. >> They can't read or write either. So, we. >> the horses. >> Yeah, the carriages and horses. >> We have three of them downtown Indie, I. think. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> They'll be next to go. >> No, they got fine. Like, we don't need. those in downtown Indie. What are they. going around the circle and you can see. the monument? >> They go down. >> You think about Gumpy? Gumpy finds. himself a little lady. He says, "Hey, you want a little night cap? Hop on this. thing.". >> Cup of Joe.
Beautiful. >> I didn't know that was his move around. the circle. >> Couple Hey, take it another round, horse. Just another round and another. round. All of a sudden, 1:00 a.m. becomes 7 a.m. And all of a sudden, this. horse is part of a love story that the. old ship painter could have never. imagined. That's never going to happen. in New York. >> That bums me out. It really does. The great great part of. going to New York City. You ever done it. before? >> Yeah. >> Did you see what else is closing? >> What? >> The world famous world famous Plaza. Hotel. >> Stop. Home of Ding Dong.
>> Yeah, I know that's not true, but No. Yes. >> It is for like four or five years. >> The Home Alone. >> Yeah. Look it up. >> to what? Yeah. Serious. >> Yeah. Yeah. Okay. >> Like four or five years. We got to We. got to get to the world famous Plaza. Hotel. Home of Ring Ding Dong. >> All right. Let's do that. And uh let's. make sure we check that box. The famous. Plaza Hotel in Midtown Manhattan is set. to close for several years to repair and. restore its historic facade. >> Nice. >> Take a look at this famous hotel. throughout the years. New York that in. 1898 horses pulling a carriage.
>> Wow. Well, how happy that. >> it's been that long. >> They're saying that's when it was the. glory days of the Plaza Hotel. A lot has. changed obviously since then. And. they're just going to update, remodel. it, and make it nicer hopefully. They. have like a little mall and a cafe in. the basement of that if I recall. Uh, but on that note, they're doing the same. thing for the for the horses, too. They're just taking some time off. >> It doesn't sound like it. >> Yeah, they're rebuilding it, remodeling. it, reimagining what it could be, and. it'll only get better. Now, there's some. things that make you get upset, and then. there's some things that MAKE YOU SAY,
"WHAT THE CHUCK?". >> WHICH IS KIND OF WHAT'S happening with. Ty with this horse thing in New York. City. There has to be some football. things that had Chuck Pagano saying, "What the Chuck?" What was it, Chuck? >> Oh my god. Let's look at this first one. This is the end of the half. How many. how much time's left on that clock? >> 3 seconds. >> 3 seconds. So, we've got a Hail Mary. situation, which they don't throw. >> Philosophy wise, I like what these guys. did at Chicago trying to pressure this. I don't like the end result. So, if we. look at the wide copy, go ahead and slow. that down. Go run it back to the.
beginning, Foxy, please. There's going. to be a guy pressure rushing the running. back up top, right? So, they got the. three receivers here. So, a lot of. people rush three, rush two. Don't rush. anybody, right? Let these guys run down. the field. let the quarterback sit back. back there jacking the ball off for. forever and let the receivers get down. the field and then throw the Hail Mary. Well, sometimes you run a pressure. We. called this victory cigar in Baltimore. and you get this guy on the ground. before he has a chance to get the ball. down. Well, they got a great play. Dennis Allen DC at Chicago must run this. before. So, see the Stevenson right.
there. The guy chasing him has him manto. man. So, when you pressure rush a guy, you got to pressure rush to his hip and. make sure he ain't giving you the okey. do. Well, he gives him the business. >> May does May does a great job throwing. this over to the deal. All right, now we. got a Now we got some Stop. Look, how. many bears do we got right there? >> One, two, three, four. Right. >> Somebody needs to get him on. >> He ain't got a chance. Watch this guy. Right. So, he's over here. We got this.
guy here. We got this guy saying, "Hey, throw it to this guy." Can they hear me? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. Throw it to this guy. So he thinks. he's gonna He stops running to tackle. this guy to go cover this guy. This. guy's chucking guy. He's in good shape. here. What are we doing? And then run it. one more time. Foxy, >> I got you. >> Watch. Hey, so watch my man Jaylen. I love Jaylen. He was a great I was in Chicago. We. drafted this kid out of Utah. GET HIM ON. THE GROUND. YOU GOT four.
>> flag football. What are we doing? >> Why 24 run this way? Because he was. looking for the lateral, you're saying? Yes. You see him looking? He's kind of. looking. He's running like the. >> He's kind of jerking the ball off and. then gone. See what he did? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Pump fake. Pump fake. The guy got 30 40. yards down the field. >> Unbelievable play there. >> What are we up 217? We're up 217. >> Mhm. >> I was sick about this. You know who I. took in this game, right? >> Hell yeah. Bears. >> Yeah. I took the Bears and I'm think,
"Oh, we're done. We're good.". >> And then you're thinking, >> And then all of a sudden, here we go. AND THEN YOU'RE THINKING, >> "WHAT? WHAT THE?". >> THERE WE GO. WE GOT TO GET THE segment. in there. But so you're saying the. people that were killing number 24 for. running away from the ball, he thought. this was going to be a lateral like what. Travis Kelsey had done. The guy was wide. ass open over there. He's got to be as. wide as the widest on kickoff coverage. I don't know if tackling a guy who gets. ball down the field on a Hail Mary is. necessarily the same. >> So you can't put it all on him. But that. right there, come on Jaylen, you're. better than that. Get him on the ground.
>> Let's move along. That's gross. >> Yeah, it is gross. You know that had. >> What's that? >> Mhm. >> I can't go there. >> Yeah. All right. >> Let's keep it moving. That's smart. That's a good idea. Now, that team will. have uh Jeffrey Simmons on it. You know. what I mean? Yeah, it will. >> And he probably disrupts that entire. thing at the beginning and it doesn't. even happen if I had to guess. Two. microphones better than no microphones. What do you got next there, Chuck. Bagano? >> Okay, we got Bone Knicks going to run. for 75,000 yards by untouched for a. touchdown. Right there he goes. Where's. the defense? What do What's You got to.
be chucking kidding me. He does. Do you. see him dive into the end zone there? >> Yeah, it was good. >> Do you see that ankle? How froze up it. was? >> No. Yeah. >> No, he couldn't even flex it. >> No. >> I can't believe he ran this far. So, if. we run this back, Foxy, look at the P. So, as far as pass rush. goes, Bo Knicks, they thought they. listened to our report saying, "Hey, he's froze up. He can't run no more.". Well, he can run. See these two? We So. you got a one technique and a three.
technique over here, right? He stays in. the clamp. He's getting double. He's got. to push the pocket. Can this three. technique just run the f up the field up. the chuck up the field? >> No. >> And open up this big gash here. What are. they playing in the back end, Tony? >> Man, >> playing man. So if my guy runs over here. and man, Pat, what do I got to do? Run. over there. >> I got to chase him. So look at all the. He's running over there. All right. So. here goes Bo. This guy sees him. He's. still running around. Watch this guy. B's 15 yds down the field. He's still. covering.
>> He's got him. This guy's got his back. turned. He's still covering. And then. these guys can't get him on the ground. >> You don't You don't think this had. little Mike Laflur SAYING. >> WHAT THE. HE GOT little guy, but he. >> Mike Laflur, >> he's I think he's doing a good job over. there. >> Mike, he's done a great job. >> Buddha Baker has not requested a trade. uh that that came out that he has not. requested a trade, but I assume, >> but he also he also said he isn't. >> Yeah, he's kind of open to it. Yeah. I. mean, if it happens, it happens. It is. the business, but I have not gone on.
there and requested a trade. He's an. incredible football player. Obviously, we're big fans of his. Bo Nicks getting. loose was good for him, I think, in his. confidence going forward. Definitely a. what the Chuck moment for Arizona. Is. there another here I see in the NFC. North? What's going on here? >> 1717 ball game. Okay. Which one am I on? >> I don't know. You tell us. Are you going. to get up or not? >> You shut up. >> Whoa. What the [ __ ] dude? >> I mean, really. Mind your I mean, >> do the shack. Just do the sh with you. >> Oh, you want him to do some shake?
>> Do the shag. Have some shaggs. >> Do what? >> The shank. >> The shag. >> Jesus Christ. >> Do the shag. >> I don't know how he's going to help you. >> Was there some officiating issues in. this game? >> I'd say. >> And I love the officials. You guys know. I I spent a year with them. I know those. people. We know how difficult of a job. this is. Right. >> I mean, it is. >> I always had appreciation after a year. with him. Unbelievable how hard this job. is. >> But some of these roughing the passer. calls. I mean, we've got it. You guys.
talked about it yesterday at Nauseium. about replay assist. This is a great. throwing catch right here by Goff to get. this thing down the field. Metriculate. Anticipatory throw by him. Great catch. by Leaporta. First down. We're going to. attack another 15 on. Watch this. I think Dean Bllandino was the official. on this steel the guest guy and he this. is textbook. >> for body weight not falling to the side. on this guy staying away from the head. and neck didn't touch the head and neck.
and then as you're going to the ground. he falls to the side and there's no way. that this should ever be called I think. Tom Brady was talking about it on the. call Dean Blandino uh did a great job. explaining this I mean he's got that. entire. >> All right that entire coaching staff. from Green Bay, especially Matt Laflur, >> brother of MIKE LAFLUR, SAYING, "WHAT. THE CHUCK?". >> IF YOU COULD MOVE A LITTLE bit forward. here with your handheld so that the. papers in a mosquito ball football. doesn't block your head, that'd be good.
I don't know if you can see the camera. up there. >> So, anyway, I mean, there there was one. a guy was stumbling and his helmet hit. him in the gut and he fell down. Boom. They hit him there, right? >> I don't know. Like, there's another one. coming up here. >> I mean, this is this is crazy. This this one here. >> Yeah. >> We got a guy on his back. >> Did you see that? >> Oh, that one was awesome. >> That one was awesome. That one was. sweet. He got that thing. It was a good. throw by him. I thought the ref.
>> We got to be tough. I love that guy. He's a good dude. >> We got to be tougher than that. Get a. clay and go down like a set. >> No, you got No. No. >> Oh, good cell. Good cell. Shawn. Michaels. Maybe. >> Wait for it. Does he have pink. shoelaces? He does. And. >> what the. >> he wouldn't have the time, wouldn't. >> uh be tougher. >> He does get kicked. I mean, pretty. >> He got He took a cleat. >> Yeah, he takes a big time cleat. >> But can you imagine like. >> is he trying to make the tackle? What.
the hell is he doing in there? >> The ball trying to get the ball. >> He's still going down to the ground. >> All right, so that made US ALL SAY, >> "WHAT THE CHUCK?". >> Is there any chucking? Oh, yeah. Oh. >> yeah. >> Yeah. So, two minutes, right? >> Mhm. >> They're burning their timeouts to save. time, right? >> Yep. >> They've got one more. Third and five. >> Mhm. >> What do we tell the defense? What are. we're all doing? >> Ear. Water. Water. Water. Ear. Ear.
Right. >> Mhm. >> So, what do you think they're going to. do? They started with a wide bunch over. here, then they shifted in, right? See. if we can get somebody. >> and then boom. >> emote. >> And then. >> Yeah. Hit it. regardless. >> And and this ain't taunting. >> I mean, what the Chuck officials, show. the wide. Do we have the wide copy on. that box here or No. >> Did this cat over here? >> No. Yep.
>> Right here. It's coming right now. >> It's coming. Watch the screen. Show. >> right now. There. >> We can't do that. You look at a guy, you fart, you pass. gas near a guy, you get a a taunting. >> and what is what do they call this. little deal? >> Oh, they did that in practice. They. started doing that in practice. >> Quick feet. >> What is the situation there? Do you know. is it then off first down then 15 yard. penalty first and 25? >> No, no, no. If they threw it. >> Yeah. So like let's because of this.
happens since it's after the play. >> It's a dead ball. >> So they would still get. >> ball. So give him a first step. Boom. And then mark it off. >> Out of breath. this. But then you guys. ask Gibbs, "Why'd you go down?". >> You can pad your own stats, right? Well, they're in a get down, >> don't score mode. >> Miller time. >> Miller time. Get down, don't score. >> Bradshaw tried it. Remember in the Super. Bowl? >> Couldn't couldn't stop. >> He was stopping and then he fell in. >> and guess what? Tom Brady threw. Gronowski on that. I was in the stadium. It was Lucas Oil Stadium. >> Bad down. >> You remember? >> Yeah.
>> And he had a bad hamstring. Couldn't get. to it otherwise it was a touchdown. Anyway, what? Great coaching. That was. unbelievable. But I I just got to say. like. what are we what are we chucking? >> They're saying you're a bit chucking. tired after doing the jam. >> Another mic. >> They're saying you're in trouble right. now. They're saying you're really. gasping. Everybody, >> you're breathing real back there again. >> Don't be asking for another Bruce is. doing it again. >> It was Bruce. Yeah. >> No, I'm looking for my.
We're out of We're out of timeouts. They. get to burn it down, kick it with no. time left on the clock. Game over. >> And and the other chucking thing that. happened. >> like at the start of the game, they go. for it on fourth and five. They get it. Then they get down a fourth and three on. the three yard, right? Fourth and goal. from the three or whatever. >> and he k decides to kick a field goal. >> There must have been some talk cuz what. happened on that one? He made smack. He. made the first one. >> And guess what? It didn't count. Why did. it didn't count, Pat? >> Cuz his stupid rekick stuff.
>> No, they had to delay a game. Oh, oh, oh, yeah, I did remember actually the. delay game happening on the net. What. are we doing? >> It went through the uprights and we got. to take the points off the board. Move. the MOVE THE B. WHAT? WHAT A TOUCH SHOT. AND GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? THEY SAID. somebody got a finger off. He pushed. that thing wide. >> They did block that. There was a little. fingy. >> Little middle fingy really doing the. entire work there. Pushing that thing. >> from that. I don't understand this close. to the trajectory. How are these getting. blocked? I can see a 55 60 yard.
but not a chucking chip shot. >> Yeah. Well, Trey Mack certainly in the. middle of the crosshairs I believe of. Packers fans. He better make all his. kicks tonight. He knows that is elite. But they blocked it. I think it was good. penetration by the Detroit Lions. I. think they understood what was on the. line. That's that never quit attitude. that MCDC has on the other side. He. makes a decision and ends up backfiring. a little bit. He says, "I need my guys, man." And they say, "We got you." Put a. middle finger right on that ball. Trey. Smack misses his second field goal. That's less than 35 yards. Has the. entire Green Bay PACKERS FAN SAYING,
"WHAT THE CHUCK?". >> GOOD WORK THERE, CHUCK. OKAY, we got two. minutes here before we get off air on. ESPN before we send it over to Big Day. with Big Shrekes breaking down all the. big place. I'm excited to hear what he. has to say about Jeffrey Simmons heading. to the Tennessee Titans and everything. else that's kind of cooking around. Before we get to that, what's the update. on WNBA game? >> Uh, real sol back here. >> They were up 20 at halftime. >> 5330. Uh, 625 left in the third. >> Okay. Uh, so it looks like the Dream are. going to get this one. We extend the. WNBA finals. And before we get out of.
here in a minute, uh, we'd like to tell. you that Chuck Pagano is going to do his. pick digitally after this shot. >> Okay. Okay. >> Two and five. If you're a little better, we'd probably try to force it in here, but. >> Well, I'm ready. >> Oh, are you trying? >> You think you got this one figured out? >> I've already got it written down. W at. home. Three and five. >> Oh, really? Miss King is saying the same. thing or what? H what's what's that. mean? >> You're going to want to stick around for.
that, aren't you? >> You're going to want to stick around. >> Yeah, we're on ESPN Plus, YouTube, Disney Plus. People are going to want to. hear what you have to say. >> That digital. asses off, baby. >> Yeah. Two and five, maybe three and. five. Still way below 500, but on our. way back to having a great season. Could. be 12 and five. Everybody forgets about. that. Your team can still get hot and. win the entire Super Bowl, unless you're. the Colts or the Titans, it feels like. >> Yep. Yeah. Everybody else may be in it. AJ, is that how you're viewing it? >> Yeah, I think you're spot on right. there. >> How about Kirk Herb Street in the first.
hour going, you know, just like the. Colts, the Titans are in this. We need. to rebuild for the future. And just like. the Colts, they they're trying to get. rid of all their uh good pieces. And. just like the Colts, it's like, man, that is what Colts is. >> Yeah, >> that's life, I guess. Be a friend, tell. a friend some might change your life. We'll see you tomorrow. Goodbye. >> All right, so we we plugged big day with. Big Shri. >> Feel like we did very professional. stuff. We teased a man who was getting. bit excited about his pick. maybe being. a good one. Yep. >> We talked about the Colts being the. Titans now all of a sudden, which I. don't like at all, but Kirk Herbstre.
kind of brought that up. And then we. also got a chance to chitchat about the. WNBA. Feel pretty professional. Now, let's get a break. Okay. >> Okay. >> We did horse racing, hockey, >> McGill. Baseball. Baseball. >> Yeah. >> In the bus. >> Yeah. >> Carriages. >> Yep. >> Being removed. >> Horses. Yeah. >> Cruelty. >> Honored the horses like that. >> I got a good idea for that, by the way. Just like the railroads. Bring over the. Japanese horses. >> Use them. >> Have them do it. >> Vernon or am I having a stroke?
>> What about just robots? >> [ __ ] you. >> Well, that's what we're coming to. You're going to see somebody said, "Hey, these guys can all go be cab drivers.". There going to be any cab drivers left. anymore in two years. >> Yeah. Whimo is really doing a lot. >> They're all done. Two weeks, brother. Hope you're prepping. >> Did you read a Whimo? Did you ride a. Whimo, AJ? >> Oh, yeah. I wrote a Whimo when I was in. Arizona. took it all the way to AQ's. house. >> in San Fran. He loves them. >> I do. >> They freaked me out a bit. I I have yet. to get in one. >> Yeah, they're way safer than humans. Humans are so I mean, think about it.
Like people get I'm not freaked out. about full self-driving. Like I want one. cuz I want to be able to sleep and. drive. >> Well, that's what you've been doing. while driving. So. >> I know I want the computer, the robot to. take me from point A to point B and I. full self driving is is legit now. I'm. not I don't I don't need to sleep, but. it's fine. >> Yeah. when you drive, especially when. the sun gets to a certain point, you've. talked about it. It's hard not to fall. asleep while you're driving with both. feet in Ohio. So, we we think. self-driving cars were made specifically. for people like you, and we hope that. people like you are no longer behind the.
wheel uh in the future, but with all the. tech glitches that we experience on a. daily basis, I mean, our internet. stopped working into Iraq because it. changed the IP address by itself. Okay. allegedly. >> there's a lot of that going on. >> The Whimo is just. >> You're right. I mean, yeah, you would. think it is. It would be something that. people that did not want to wish. anything positive on us could take over. and ruin it. >> easily.
>> cause some issues. But you can do that. with normal cars now. They claim like, "Oh, the CIA can take over your car and. drive you over a cliff." Like, you've. seen all that those conspiracies. >> Yeah, it's true. >> Not even doesn't even have to be a It's. not a Whimo or anything, but just a. normal car they can get into. I saw. another video out of University of Utah. this morning. I I don't know if it's. just technology that really wants to get. us, you know, there's a lot of Oh. >> yeah, >> that was crazy to see just a couple days. after. It's almost like, well, is this. guy maybe have a little better feel on. what it is all happening than you might.
have? I don't know. Not 100% sure. What. do I know? What do I know? Nothing. Just. sports. And even that, I don't really know who's. gonna win tonight. I don't know, but it. sounds like Chuck Paga knows. >> what's going on. Can't wait to get your. pick. Can't wait to wrap up all the. storylines and headlines that we haven't. covered yet today. Have you heard about. Aaron Rogers talking about him being. iced out on the way back from Wee Wee. >> He loved what was going on there. Vibes.
are high in Pittsburgh. Will that carry. them further into the playoffs? Maybe to. a Super Bowl like they haven't seen in. years. Jerry Jones said, "Hey, listen. I. [ __ ] don't have a lot of pieces to be. able to do much and maybe not allow us, but I'll [ __ ] keep looking. If uh if. it's going to make us better, I'll do. it. And if you're going to ask me right. now why I make a play to win, yeah, I. will make play. What is it? Who the [ __ ]. knows? But if it happens, it happens. If. it doesn't, it don't. So, I don't want. to hear it. Just know the Cowboys going. to give you a show. Be a friend. Tell a. friend something nice might change your. life on the other side. We got a lot to. do. See you then. Goodbye.
When I was a kid, I get this feeling. I called it white buzz. and everything will go white.
It's like I'm not me in that moment. >> That white buzz would pour in my brain. like a river of [ __ ] fire. I'd get the same feeling when I started. playing football. We did our job. >> That's loud. >> Everything goes way.
too. >> Is that what insane is? Hold on tight. You're too slow. Fire at the breeze of blows these stars. through our minds. for the hill.
>> Hooray. This is war. This is real war. Yeah, if he throws you a curveball, you're in trouble.
>> That breaking ball. Good luck. It's It's. pretty nasty. >> Think he's going to make contact? >> No. >> If I were you, I would just start. swinging as you release it. >> Do you think I make contact? >> I can barely make contact against this. Fight a bingo, 25 grand. Extra base hit, 15,000. If you walk me, $10,500. donation. Strike out, $10,000. A hit is. just$10,000. Ball contact $5,000.
donation. Hit by pitch, that's an extra. 5,000. Strike is a,000 obviously. And. then every ball will be a donation by. the pitcher as well. Sche said that if. he was pitching against me, throw one. behind me. I've had a lot of votes to. get you in the ribs. A lot of them. >> You can get in there and look at one if. you want. Get used to it. >> Is this the one you're going to put in. my ribs? >> Nope. You're not. Don't swing at this. one. Don't swing. >> All right. I won't. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I thought I was.
going to burn my feet. >> Rookie of the year. Get a little closer. >> Just got a cramp in my left hip. >> All right. No balls, no strikes. Yeah. Okay. What the [ __ ] was that?
What the [ __ ] was that? >> I like that you let it go though. >> Yeah, first one. >> Yeah, I like it. Oh, foul tip. >> Foul tip.
>> Oh, where'd you go? >> Where'd you go? What was that? >> That was purple. >> That was a strike. >> That was right there. >> Hey, thank you for your donation. >> Kershaw's challenge is forever grateful.
>> So, what was that? You just threw it. fast, >> fast, fast, curve. Oh, where'd you go? >> And what else do you have? >> I have a slider. >> [ __ ]. >> This is guy number two. >> Guy number two. >> Yeah, I got a different attitude. This. guy. Okay. >> I don't like what you're doing with the. strikes though.
You're on it. >> Oh, foul ball.
foul ball. You got me though there, right? >> Yeah. >> Contact. Okay. >> Yeah. I will put on my Twitter bio. >> Made contact. What you throw? This will be his curve, right?
That's all I got right there. >> Yeah, I saw it. >> Hey, fast ball away. All right. >> Over here, >> maybe. I mean, you never know, but I'm. going to try. Fast ball away.
I think I got it. I think I got it. I. think I got it. I think I got it.
That was good. >> Did that hurt? >> Yeah. >> Thank you, dude. >> We'll count that as a single. Infield. single. >> Hey, I got a ghost runner there. He's. fast. Overthrow first. He's on second. Okay.
I got it. Hey, good work, dude. That was awesome. >> I knew the curve was coming right there. >> You did? Yeah. >> How'd you know? >> Uh, just because I thought cuz I made. contact. >> Oh, yeah. You're reading my mind. >> All right, let's [ __ ] make a move.
Yeah, >> you got it. >> You told me fast ball away. >> Yeah, I cut in a little. You got jam, but contact. Like I was aiming away through a two. seamer and it's supposed to kind of run. but it kind of ran the other way. >> I didn't think about the punch out. pitch. Like I was sitting there. I'm. like he's he's up 02. >> You're definitely going to hit me with. something. >> Oh, where'd you go? >> Catcher got you there. >> I think I got on base.
>> That's an infield single. You know it. You had you had enough though. >> Did you see his face? He said I don't. know. don't know about. >> That's real. He said. >> Mooki's good short stop from what I. remember. I'll give you one hit. >> Give you one hit, one foul ball and then. uh I did catch. Does that count? Does. that count your foul ball? >> The catch definitely counts as a twofer. there. >> Okay. There's a few swing and misses. >> A lot of swinging misses. >> So yeah, you just you just let me know. >> We appreciate you being a great. American. Good luck. >> Thank you.
>> Hey, there's no way I'm going to be able. to throw enough strikes. >> All right. Thank you, dude. You're the. best. >> That was great, man. But it is great to be down HERE IN. TATON, ALABAMA. NOW, let's do a little. history here, shall we? This is uh.
what's your name? >> Gabby. >> Gabby, you're a senior here, right? >> That's correct. >> And what is your major? Chemical. engineering. >> Okay. Okay. Uh, have you ever kicked anything. before? >> No. >> Okay. But you said you want to do it, not get SOMEBODY ELSE BECAUSE. >> BECAUSE I CAMPED out for so many hours. with my friend and I got lucky enough to. get picked. So, let's go for it. >> YES. >> YES. >> ALL RIGHT. >> WE LOVE THAT. GABBY, $300,000 if you.
make this kick right here, Gabby. Okay. >> Oh my gosh. That seems fair. >> I don't know what a chemical engineering. degree costs, but hopefully that'll help. towards it all. >> My parents above that. >> I'll throw in 200 AS WELL. >> HE THROW IT TO $500,000. >> ALL RIGHT, GABBY. >> OKAY, >> GOOD LUCK. WE'RE PULLING FOR YOU. 33. YARDS. ALL YOU GOT TO DO IS make the. kick. Good luck, Gabby. >> Okay. Any final thoughts? >> I love you, Mom and Dad and brother.
>> Love that, Mom and Dad. Hope you have a. good time. Ladies and gentlemen, Gabby. Matthysse, chemical engineer, senior. here at Alabama, WILL ATTEMPT TO WIN. 500,000. >> It's come to this, huh? It's come to. this. >> It's come to this. >> Yeah, this Why'd you smack me in the. face? Kirk just smack me in the face. How about this? How about this, Gabby? If Kirk Herbstre can throw that football.
through those uprights right there, we'll give you $300,000. >> Are you okay with that? >> 300,000. If Kirk Hry can throw it. THROUGH THOSE UPRIGHTS, FORMER OHIO. STATE QUARTERBACK. >> NO warm up. Full suit for Deb. Get Gabby. Get Gabby. Get.
>> Hi. It's getting even more pricey. Kirk Herb. Street. I DID NOT KNOW YOU HAD THAT IN. YOU. >> OH, that's crazy. >> Gavin. Gavin, it's for you, your mom, your brother, the whole family. Congratulations. And Kirk,
>> good on you, man. It was close. Back to. you, Roose. Jeez. Way to go, Gabby. >> Hey, what a moment. You know, I love the. fact that Gabby wanted the experience. >> Hey, why? >> Let's go. >> This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. >> McAfee on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The all-time leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers. You pick. star. Damn it.
>> Your friend tell a friend something nice. could change their life. We are. sport. >> Hello beautiful people and welcome back. to our super humble boat. The draft king. thunder on this NFL weekend kickoff. Thursday. Power hour three begins now. FOOTBALL. HE is the greatest and this. man has won a Super Bowl and a college. football national championship. That's. AJ Hawk. The toxic table is here at.
Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt. One. half OF THE HAMMER DONE. Cowboys AP Tone. is here. I'm not 100% sure, but I think. in weeks past or um. >> our boost is live. Is is it live? Do we. know if it's up there for Thursday Night. Football where we have. >> Young Love, >> forever young love, especially tonight. young love. It's. >> wishing and hoping in planning for Bryce. Young and Jordan Love to both have 220. plus pass yards this evening. Now, Carolina Panthers defense sucks at.
stopping the run, but the Green Bay. Packers have been terrible at running. the rock. Jordan Love and Bryce Young. both more than 220 yards. Bryce Young's. the second leading passer in the NFL. Nobody really knows that or talks about. that, especially after beating last week. to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And Jordan. Love is fourth in the NFL in pass yards. for what he averages. So in theory, we. should win tonight yet again. Yeah, if. we do that, we will certainly be. excited. It is not a guarantee. So we. would uh recommend certainly. wholeheartedly to do this responsibly.
Let's make the game a little bit more. fun. Let's have a little action on the. action. Let's not act like we're going. to uh pay off our mortgage with one. particular bet. But we do like the way. this one sits. We do like the way it. looks. Tone Diggs, why should we like. this? Why should people potentially. think about riding alongside of us? And. why do we think this is going to be a. great game this evening, Tone? >> Yeah, we've kind of found our sweet spot. as far as the boost on Thursday night. We're four and three on the year, 2 and. 0 when we do quarterback uh total yards.
over on both side of the ball. It. started with Aaron Rogers and Deshawn. Watson. And then last week we did it. with Drake May and Caleb Williams. So, we are continuing that trend with Bryce. Young and Jordan Love this week. Um, and. we did it to the 200 tune of 220 plus. yards for both of them. They both over. or average over 280 yards a game as you. just said. So, it felt right. Yeah. You. talk about the Panthers rushing defense. and the Packers not being able to run. with Josh Jacobs back. They probably. will try to run a little bit more, but. Jordan Love is still going to take his. shots against that banged up Panthers. secondary. And then Bryce Love and the P.
and the Panther, sorry, Bryce Young and. the Panthers. Um, they bounce back. incredibly well. You talk about their. against the spread after a loss. So, we. expect a good performance out of them. Um, and they normally do it through the. air as you as you talked about with with. uh Bryce and you know, Chuba Hover could. get going too, but we like it. We like. it more than 220 for both. >> Yeah, we like it. Maybe a little check. down too to get busy. We will certainly. hold on all night as we find out if 220. is going to be hit for both of them. That's a lot of yards. That's a lot of. drives. We're going to need all four. quarters probably for this. Okay. We're. going to need at least deep into the.
second half. We're still alive. Let's. remember we're never out of this one and. we can hang on. Even a Hail Mary happens. at the end. >> That's right. That's another 50 60 yards. potentially for somebody that we need. Let's not give up hope. Let's not think. negatively. Let's win tonight, AJ. For. the good of the people that have been. following along with us. >> Yeah. >> Let's win. Let's win the first half. Let's make this thing a shootout. Back. and forth, back and forth, and boom, third quarter hits, and we're already. comfortable relaxing, just watching the. game. >> If we have 500 pass yards in the first. half, we would love that. We would. certainly love that. Both defenses would. not, but I would love if that's how week.
eight of the NFL season kicked off. Now. joining us obviously every single. Thursday is a man that we absolutely. love. Uh football coach of 37 years, 18. in college, 19 in the NFL, our coach, ladies and gentlemen, Coach Pong. >> Charlie. >> All right. Uh Charlie, regardless, you. know, uh that Thursday night football. picking has not been easy this year. >> The NFL as a whole has not been easy. AJ's been kind of seeing it. >> throughout the entirety of the first. seven weeks of the season. It's actually. been very impressive how he's been doing.
against the spread. me, you, many others. not really seeing it. But tonight, especially after what you did last week, could be the time where we start to see. the picture clearly. >> Oh yeah. >> Tonight could be the what the Chuck. moment that is from the books on what. you end up doing to them for the rest of. the year. You started last week by. seeing it. Now, this week, you hammer. down. and indicate to the world that you got a. feel and a grasp of what the hell's. going on in this men's league, this. National Football League. The biggest.
league on earth has their week eight. kickoff tonight in Green Bay historic. Lambeau Field in Utah, Chuck potentially. a heater picking these things. How do. you see tonight going and what are your. thoughts on the game, Chuck? >> Well, uh, after that beat down by Tampa, we talked about it earlier. Carolina. couldn't get the Lambo quick enough and. and kick this thing off. So, um you see. the numbers here. Both teams can really. throw the heck out of the ball if you. look at pass offense, right? They they. love throwing it. So, your boost I think.
is, you know, again, bet responsibly, but I think that's a that's a winner for. sure. We talked at Naz Charles. >> What? Charlie, >> nothing is for sure, brother. Why would. you [ __ ] say that, you jackass? >> Cuz I believe it. Okay. >> All right. I got the two quarterbacks. Bryce Young's playing at a extremely. high level, >> right? >> Extremely. >> So, shut your face, >> right? >> All right. You I'll come wipe that smirk off your. puss. Hey. >> Whoa.
>> I don't have a puss. Okay. That's what. my gramps used to call. Get your eat. that poor chop. Slap you right in a. puss. >> Okay. I like that. Okay. What year was. that? >> See the guy's angle? >> That was a long time ago. >> Little different. 68 or 69. Times have. changed, old man. >> I know you can't say that no more. >> No, you certainly can. I just think has. a different meaning. >> You don't want to eat. Okay, that's. okay. Just go to your room and get on. your iPad. That's fine. >> Charming. >> I mean, that's what we're doing. >> That's not what I'm doing.
>> No, babysitting. Oh, here's the greatest. babysitter in the world. Hit your iPad. >> Toy Story 5 taught a good lesson about. that. >> Well, I'm sure it did. Listen, McKenzie. is certainly going to be uh good with. technology, but I don't love whenever. she gets locked in on one of those and. you can't distract her. It's like. immediately take it out. But I'll tell. you, there's a lot of learning that. could be done on there as well about. life%, you know, about life%. And I I. know uh. >> math. >> I know I haven't really done the whole. uh hey, put that iPad down or I'm smack.
you in your push just yet. But uh times. have changed. Times change. No, >> I don't recommend that. >> No, me and my daughter have a great. relationship. great relationship and her. eating is becoming a thing. She doesn't. necessarily like stay focused on her. food. So, getting her uh acting like I'm. taking her food to eat it and her going. and then eating it has been a lot of. fun. I feel like I'm conquering a little. three-year-old toddler's brain in real. time. I enjoy it. It's one of my. favorite things uh to do is to trick her. into doing things. It It feels so good.
And then immediately afterwards, I say, "I got you. Okay, I can't just let. everybody get you like that." And then I. do it again the next day. Then I get her. for breakfast and then at one point. she's gonna learn about it and she's. gonna say just take it and then I'm. gonna have to deal with it then. But. I've loved the entire idea of parenting. But you were before I had a kid uh I was. playing for a team. He was bitching. about people giving their kids iPads uh. back in two 212 maybe. >> 2123. 214 214 he was saying it just the things.
he was saying to the team. He'd walk in. he just heard some story from somewhere. Okay. Nobody really knows what's going. on. So, most of us, some of us didn't. have kids, you know. And he goes, "I'm. [ __ ] shick of everybody just handing. your kid an iPad. I'm sick of it. Don't. hand your kid an iPad. >> Why don't you be a parent? Why don't you. just actually do something instead of. just handing a [ __ ] iPad over to your. kid?" Really worked up first thing he's. saying to us. And I have remembered. that. I just want to let you know with. my daughter and whenever baby boy might. get her age, I think about you doing. that all the time. I legit. So, I. appreciate you coaching me to be a.
better parent before I even thought I. was going to have kids. The biggest. thing like on that on that deal like if. you're going to punish your kid, we. talked about consequence the NFL with. Harbaugh and Scaboo, whatever, right? Like you got to see it through. So you. guys got young kids. So okay, biggest. thing like you take away a Saturday, hey. look, you keep doing this behavior, there's going to be a consequence. Well, the first one's going to be you ain't. playing Saturday. You spend the whole. day in your room. >> And guess who else loses a Saturday?
you you do. >> because you're going to have to sit. there by that door and monitor the thing. the whole time and make sure it stays. Now, it just takes one Saturday, but. most people ain't willing enough to give. up their Saturday. >> You also can't really do that with like. a three-year-old or four-year-old. Can't. just be like, "Hey, you're stay in your. room your whole day.". >> No, you can't. >> Well, a three-year-old. I think she's. >> that turned out really good. They. >> as a three-year-old, I don't know about. a three-y old six, seven. >> No, we laid hands early. Not healing. No.
>> 1969. >> I'm with you, coach. No. So anyway, >> anyways, parenting is fun. >> I would like to say that it's a lot. though. It is a lot. And everything is. potentially leading to a massive. decision down the road. And it's like. the idea that you're shaping a human. with every single thing that you do is a. lot of pressure. a lot of fun though. because you can I feel like I can uh you. know kind of sway Kenzie into thinking. like certain ways from an early but I. think she's going to decide what she.
holds on to and what she does right and. that kind of the entire game. >> and just remember the guy she's going to. marry. the one that she watches every single. day of her life growing up. same exactly like pop so the biggest. thing who's got daughters you got a. daughter. >> it's interesting I like I hope who's got. daughters You don't you you got three, right? >> Yeah. >> So, the best advice and this is from. Tina cuz she taught me everything. >> Like I was I was horrible when I was. home. I was horrible. I had no no clue.
what I was doing, you know? And but she. would tell me, "Hey, look, you know that. when they get old enough to get married, they're going to marry somebody just. like you. Somebody that they, you know, rever whatever what they see day in and. day out, good or bad. and this you're doing this ain't very. good. So, just keep that in mind. And. the other thing I can give you with your. daughters is make sure that their. self-esteem is off the charts and they. feel great about themselves and they.
love themselves. >> Yeah. >> Because then when they go out peer. pressure and all that stuff, they're. going to be solid enough say, "Okay, no, I I don't need that. I'm not going. there. I'm good.". >> I feel like I am a cheerleader all the. time for Mackenzie for everything she. does. And you're saying like, "Hey, yeah, that's very good. Let's keep doing. that. That's smart idea what I'm doing. cuz I'm just doing it cuz I like see her. smile and laugh and like go on to be. strong and courageous and smart and. everything like that. So I'm just. celebrating everything she does. But I. do get worried that I'm gassing her up. too much. You know I get worried every. once in a while I'm gassing her up too. >> They need to be tough. They need to be.
able to stand up. >> Okay. So in sports when I'm playing. little baby boy Midas, he's not scoring. a point on me. >> Okay. He's not getting a bucket. He's. not getting a goal. He's not getting a. first down. >> Participation trophies. >> Yeah, right. might not. He's getting his. [ __ ] swatted. So, the day that he does. beat me, it's a big day. You're saying. McMackenzie, let's go ahead and let her. feel a little success there. Let's go. ahead and let her do this entire thing. Something to think about there. >> Yes, >> cuz I was thinking in soccer-wise, Mackenzie, I'm just, you know, you got.
to learn a little bit, you know. Yeah, she kicks it. Boom. I don't think so, Ken. I don't think so. She's getting. into soccer. >> She's starting to kick. She's got a left. foot. >> She's going through cones at school, at. home. She's kicking it back and forth to. me. I'm like, here we go. We still got a. World Cup here. We still got a World Cup. that we could potentially go get Miss. McKenzie. And then she puts a dress on. immediately. And then she kicks again. And I'm like, "Okay, so we got kind of. best of both worlds we got.". >> And then all of a sudden she loses her. mind and she wants to dress off. Now she. has a witch's broomstick because we're. celebrating Halloween and she wants to.
be naked running around the house with a. broomstick. And then she's hitting me. with So it's a lot of fun. How many How. many kids do you have again, AJ? I. always say 10. I don't know the actual. number. >> I got four. I got a daughter and then. three boys. >> Wow. Your daughter oldest. >> Oh yeah. 15 and a half. She's got her. temps. >> Get your temps. >> She's got to be a better driver than. dead. >> Yeah, for sure. >> She tells me that all the time. >> Yeah. >> Okay, good. Very comfy. >> She's awake. >> Yeah, it's your Yeah. >> Mhm. >> We're entering dangerous times with AJ. as far as driving just cuz. >> daylight savings on Sunday. So,
>> yeah. Sun's going down. >> Going down real early. >> School time. >> Exactly. If you have kids in the Ohio. area, look out. AJ Hawks on the loose. bus drivers. If you see Ohio State. Legend license plate, >> there's a chance that thing's going to. be swerving a little bit as he dozes off. as the sun goes down. He's going to have. two feet uh working the the pedals. there. So, when he does wake up, he will. be able to stop with his left foot. relatively quickly, but who knows where. he is. >> He confuses him.
>> Yeah, you're right. >> He's speeding up towards you. >> What's so funny, AJ? That's. >> I tried to teach my daughter to drive. with two feet. She said the guy in like. the incar told her, "No, you're not. supposed to. >> 100%.". >> Yeah, cuz she's not. >> I said, "Okay, that's Well, we're not. going to get into it." But yeah, it's. okay. If you can do it, you should do. it. >> Okay. I don't think so, though. Is what. I think like a lot of people say. >> Who Who made that rule? Tell me who made. that rule. But yeah, once again, we. don't need to get into all this again. But who who's they? It's like when my. mom says, "Well, they say you're not. supposed to do that." Cool. Tell me who. they is. >> I'm a big who's they guy. I like to hear.
who they is. >> My teacher. He told me long time ago. Tim. >> taught him that. >> common sense. >> driver's ed teachers. >> Yeah, exactly. Whatever the who's who's. to say the first driver's ed teacher was. Jesus Christ himself. We don't know like. whatever rules make you have the same. dexterity with both feet if you're right. right footed and you got left. I don't. know. >> I play point guard. I was one man press. breaker with my left hand. So my left. foot works pretty well too.
>> Got you there. >> Hey, you win. Tim McAfee, uh, professional driver for a long time, truck driver, you know, I think he. taught me pretty young, right foot is. for gas and brake and then left foot's. for the clutch, you know, but you just. said, you know what, >> I would listen to Tim. No, if I'm. driving with Tim, if I'm if I'm driving, I'm going one foot with Tim. I respect. him enough that I will not use two. >> But if it's manual, obviously you got to. work the left foot. So that's. >> Oh, yeah. I love Yeah. >> If you're driving manual skill, too. If. you're driving manual, are you going. from brake pedal to clutch? Like are you. doing that with.
>> usually not only if my only if my right. groin is pulled pretty bad. That's the. only way I'm doing it. >> Do you know how to drive stick? >> Yeah, I learned my that's my first car. was a tiny twodoor Honda Civic. That was. my older brother. So it was a stick. luckily. I was I'm very happy it was a. stick because I'm it's a big it's a. skill you need to have. I think. >> me as well. Yeah. I I don't know how. many people are able to do it these. days. It's hard to find a car that's a. stick. >> anymore. That's Mills Jeep. Nick went to. the auction to or Nick went and found a. truck that was a stick because he missed. driving a stick so much and it's hard to.
find. You gota like really dig. >> to drive to Kentucky. >> Exactly. >> You ever seen Three on the tree? >> Oh yeah. Shift in there. Yeah. >> Oh yeah. Have you ever gone uh super uh. high-end and done the paddles? You ever. You ever shift on the paddles? I. >> I've never used them. I got them on the. Range Rover at home. >> What? >> They didn't do anything though. That. paddles don't do anything. >> What's that? The paddles don't do it. There's no like a lot of the paddle. things I've had, there's a paddle like, "Oh, yeah, you're changing gears." But. if you don't do it, it'll automatically. do it for you. >> Yeah. But you can Yeah, you can um I.
think you can I think. >> that means you can do it to where you're. actually making it work. >> Yeah. Because you're trying to get that. closer to a red line whenever you're. shifting as opposed to whenever the car. is shifting because the car's thinking. about the engine. So, it's going to be a. little bit. you get on those paddles there, turn the. shift off, you can, you know, you can really get that thing. up there, AJ. And then you can ALWAYS. HEAR THE [ __ ]. YOU KNOW, DON'T know how to shift a damn. thing. That's not us. Thank god. Thank. god. >> Oh, a Ram truck. I like that. That sound.
like a Ram truck I just heard. I don't. know if they have any of those that are. stick these. >> Bale almost got his Jeep stuck that one. day pulling out the laws here. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. People just beating up that thing, you know. You just got. >> a great investment on his part. >> Still has it, right? >> Yeah, I think so. I. >> actually can't sell it. I don't think. >> I think the cats use it as a litter box. titles all messed up. >> Hey, barbecue bill's going right now. Can we please not bury that? >> The bacon was divine. >> Yeah, the bacon was divine. >> Yeah, it's tough to cook bacon. >> Excuse me. That was in a smoker into a.
flat grill or something like that. >> Flat iron. >> Flat iron in the back. Yeah. >> Yeah. Have you seen what Bill looks like. out here as he's cooking this barbecue. for us on this glorious NFL week eight. kickoff Thursday? AJ, >> I saw a picture earlier. I don't know if. you popped it up here for for all the. people or not. >> Yeah, great. I sent it into the group. text. I I think we are uh currently. trying to find it right now. Barbecue. Bill on a Thursday. >> There you go. >> He's out there in the back. We got a new. smoker and Bill said he couldn't wait to. get his hands on that. He's been rubbing.
and tossing meat in there all morning. Can't wait for after the show. It's. going to be uh spectacular. Had a little. bacon um appetizer for us out there in. between the break. >> Love what Bill's doing. >> You could put 50 scrambled eggs on that. flat top you guys got out there. Oh, that' be. >> good idea. Yeah, maybe that's next. Thursday. Oh, >> feel. You got to do that. Oh my god. >> Waffle house feel. >> 100%. >> That would be great, Bill. Peppers. Maybe. >> a little onion, mushroom. >> Yeah. >> Put them all in there.
>> I'm going to bring the meats and do. We're going to do meatballs and sauce. I. promised you guys a couple years ago. Now we got We got the kitchen. >> All we get is. >> Oh, we get his moonshine from Red Coat. Charlie. >> I'm going to get I'm going to bring some. grapple. >> Oh [ __ ]. We'll bring some grapa. >> Of course. >> You keep laughing. Thank you, >> Mad. >> All right, let's get to the pick. >> We cut off. We'll cut you off a little. bit. Yeah. >> No, you're good. >> Tail of the tape here. >> I mean, honestly, it did get into a.
really good family conversation. As. someone who doesn't have kids, I enjoyed. listening to that. Just. >> for the record being So, I'm on road a. lot right now. Very lucky to be on road. a lot. Try to get home as fast as. possible. try to have at least five. mornings and nights with my daughter, you know, like putting her to bed and. waking up and being there. And she now. is starting to catch the rhythm whenever. she knows that I won't be there the next. morning. And she goes, "You don't go. Bye-bye." And I go, "Uh, I'll be back. I'll be back real soon." She goes, "Not. morning though." And I go, "No, no, no.
But but you know, like that'll like. tomorrow morning I'm going to be home. because game day is in Bloomington and. we're not I don't have to fly somewhere. on Thursday night." and she's fully. expecting tonight for me not to be there. tomorrow. Cannot wait to run up there. tomorrow and just surprise her for the. you know the big daddy. I think the big. thing that I'm learning is like uh just. the amount and I try to do this. everywhere. If you're present they know. like if you are if McKenzie knows like. if I'm there or if I'm thinking about.
something else. So I try to just. completely lock in on just being her dad. whenever I have the moments. It's like I. can't have the amount of moments right. now that I wish I could have with her. You know, we have a job and that's the. way the world works and hopefully she'll. understand that at some point. But when. I'm there with her, brother, it is like. a uh fullcourt press of her. understanding that I'm there. It's uh. parenting has been fun. It has been a. fun fun thing. Little Midas, this. fucker's big, dude. He's gigantic. This.
thing's head shoot. >> He's a happy baby. Oh, yelling, smiling, happy. I mean, he is he's much more. active than Kenzie was at these stages. Like Kenzie, it took a while for her to. really like smile and like have a. personality. And I think she's still. kind of like that. She's going to be I. think she's going to be a hilarious. smartass. Like I I think she has a lot. of that in her. Midas is just up and. about. Ah, we're yelling, we're talking, we're bouncing, we're smiling, we're. grabbing, we're kicking already. It's. like and he's big. He's [ __ ] big.
this. So, I'm enjoying it all. I love. it. But you have helped me be a good. dad. So, I appreciate you, Chuck, and. Connor. You'll be a phenomenal father if. you get the opportunity to be a father. I cannot wait to watch it. >> God willing. >> How about little Foxy over there? >> Yeah. How about it? >> How about him and little Roman out. there? Absolutely crushing. >> Five weeks today. >> Congratulations. >> Yep. It's been awesome. He's eating, sleeping, peeing, pooping, the whole. thing. It's been great. I love it. And. my wife's been awesome. That's been. outstanding to watch her be a mom. >> Shout out to Reagan. Now, just like. everybody has kind of told all of us, it. only gets better.
>> Yep. >> It only gets better. especially, you. know, um as they get to the point of. forming full thoughts. >> Yeah. He's starting to smile right now, which has been really cool this week. >> Yeah. See, little development process. first couple weeks that you start. thinking to yourself, >> I don't know if I'm going be able to do. that. How do everybody how has people. since the beginning of time been able to. accomplish this? Like actually, how how. have they been able to do that? But to. your point about Reagan, it's like. watching Sam mom here, you know, and. then h these babies are tough, which I. think is a big part of it. You know,
human's pretty tough since the. beginning, but these Hey, Roman will. drop something on you from whenever he. was six weeks old, whenever he gets a. little bit older that you would be like, "How the [ __ ] do you like McKenzie. remembers the most obscure things?" She. wanted the boxing gloves out of here. last night. She hasn't played with those. in weeks probably. I FaceTime from the. Thunderdome. I talked to her and she. goes, "Uh, bring gloves home." And I'm. like, "Gloves? What? What glo? I don't. You got it." So, I get over to a. baseball glove. I'm like, "Basement. glove?" She goes, "No, I want black. glove." And I'm like, "I have no idea.
what you're talking about." And then I. mosey around, go over there. Boxing. glove. What? And I hold it up and she. goes, "Yeah." I'm like, "Whoa, how do. you remember that that is even here?" I. didn't even remember it was here. And. now she's starting to piece things. together. And I think this is when the. games really begin. I'm not 100% sure. How old are all your kids right now, Ty? >> Uh, four and a half, a little over two, and then uh what, like five months? >> The four and a half months. We're. because she is very smart. Yeah. That's. what I'm learning about here.
>> Yeah. So, and like she now she can fully. interact and play with my 2-year-old and. like they're obsessed with the baby. So, like that that part is very cool. >> Little teamwork on it. >> Yeah. A lot of fighting, but you know. that that comes with the territory. >> McKenzie that first day we bring Mighty. home. No brother. No brother. Now she loves him. talks to. him. I assume that won't always be the. case. What a time for all of us.
>> Building families, got kids, new houses, professions. Look at us. Good for us, AJ. We're all adults seemingly. >> Well, >> yeah. >> Yeah. >> I guess age-wise, you are correct. >> Did you hear about the test that Tai's. four and a halfyear-old daughter took? >> She got a better score on it than Mitt. So, >> I don't know if we all are, but. >> you're right. I guess I painted with a. broad brush there. >> Yeah. But but in for the most part. >> Percentages if we're. >> percentages. Yes. >> Yeah. In the percentages game,
>> I'd say like 80 75% in bone coughed up a. full chicken nugget this morning. I. don't know if it was from like last. night or two days, three weeks ago. >> Yeah. >> Kind of like a chip on his cheeks. >> Yeah. He was doing. like a full McNugget came up. >> No, that sasso vine it. So, well, that's. what I would assume is that he's he's. swallowing this these McNuggets whole. >> Well, that's what I'm saying. So, he's. popping these things like jelly beans. >> Yeah. Or popcorn. Yep.
>> I just thought like your body naturally. would decompose that a little bit. >> No, no, no. >> Apparently, he has he's eaten so many of. them that they can he kind of can he's. got like a special space he can store. them in case he does need to cough them. up later. And it's like a little treat. this morning. >> Oh, cuz he gets another one. >> Yeah, exactly. He gets to then, you. know, >> experience it on the way out and again. on the way in. >> Correct. >> He's got the game figured out. Lifehack. That's Debbone football, baby. Speaking. of football, let's get to tonight's. game. Uh Panthers are taking on the. Green Bay Packers. Let's not be giving.
our iPads to our kids all the time. Okay. Let's be present. Let's do some. parenting. Let's enjoy the hell out of. Thursday night football on. >> tougher than you think. >> Who? >> Your kids. You You mentioned. >> Oh, yeah. >> Did you call to your first like our. first my first coddle them? Oh, don't. you know they're gonna fall, they're. gonna break. Blah, blah, blah. Right. And they tend to be a little bit, but. then that second one, you just like, oh, yeah, let them let them roll. Because. you learn. They are tough. >> They are tough. Yeah, definitely tough. I. >> second, third one, they just they're oh,
they'll be fine. Just leave them on the. street corner at [ __ ] five months. old, you know? Yeah, they'll be good. Let them go. Let them go play. >> But but it's the truth. >> You don't have to coddle them. >> I I think it depends which street corner. you're dropping them on. I do appreciate. that you're saying we all learn as. parents that the first one. >> uh any fever, cough, uh sound, yell, fall, >> bruise, SCR EVERYTHING IS LIKE FULL. PANIC, full panic, full panic with. Midas. He starts yelling and screaming.
It's like, man, somebody needs to change. this dude's diaper. He was like, I gotta. get in there and do that. There's only a. couple problems this thing can have. right now. Good luck out there, buddy. It's fun, man. It's a lot of fun. a lot. of effort, a lot of time, a lot of. energy, a lot of a lot at stake, you. know, for like the rest of their lives. Very much so. And you could feel that. pressure. Speaking of a lot at stake. >> tonight. Yeah. >> Two NFC teams looking to bounce back. Panthers and Packers do battle at Lambo. Chuck, who's going to win? How are they. going to win? And why, pal? >> You know, Carolina went up there last. year, doubledigit dog, and beat them.
outright. >> It's a good football team. Yeah. >> Ed Lambo. So this feel this feels this. got a lot of feel like all the numbers. we know about the dogs howling dogs are. barking prime time. >> them going up there last so they're not. going to be intimidated about Lambo and. going up there and playing this this. football team they're coming off a a bad. bad loss they got good players Joey. Gilbert we got our guys down there we. know we know people's there so how you. know can also have his guys ready good.
runner Mc Te McMillan Coker you know. Wall er had a big play last week. They. got they got enough weapons, you know, to do some damage. But this this Green. Bay defense, it's probably been the most. consistent. Herby mentioned it. Over the. last four weeks, they've only allowed 13. and a half points a game, which is. really really good. And that's against a. Dallas offense. Chicago offense. Now, Chicago didn't have Caleb Williams. They. had the combo platter of Keenum and and. Nent, but um. >> Be agent. >> Be a No, I thought it was.
>> No, it's not Ted or Mike. No, you play. played leg. Sorry. You don't want to arm. wrestle me pop. >> Yeah, Brian big fan from our. understanding. Dad does watch show. Shout out to you. Legend out of West. Virginia and Tyson. Good stuff. >> But turnovers are going to be huge. This. uh secondary for Green Bay leads the. league and interceptions. They've got. nine. That's more than anybody in the. National Football League. Uh they love. to throw the ball. So we're going to. It'll be the interceptions will be after. the boost hits.
>> Thank you. Yeah. You know what I mean? Sorry. Scared me a little So that'll. that'll happen afterwards. So I I think. that's going to be big. And we talked. about them getting Jacobs going, but. they'll get they'll get them touches the. way you're wanting them, screens and. check downs and swings and things like. that. So. >> um. >> Jared G, how many Hold on. How many did. Jared go throw for against Packers? >> 303. >> All right. >> You're just pointing out a lot of. things. >> Oh, so he can throw picks like they can. go down 17 nothing and then all they can. do is throw. >> So we don't have to be.
>> I mean they made they made great C. There was three or four of them. >> Bry Foxy that could have been. intercepted, but. >> absolutely. There's actually two in a. row and Tom Brady losing his mind, >> you know. So, this defense has for Green. Bay is is is pretty good. They're. missing Zier Franklin in the middle. That'll affect him a little bit maybe. from a communication standpoint, a. >> little bit has a lot of tackles. That. guy's everywhere. >> Right to my What? >> But I don't see like to your point, they're they're they're four and three. and they're last in the NFC North. They. cannot afford to lose this football.
game. And Carolina's sitting there at. three and three and in first place in. the NFC South. So, who need who needs us. more? You're at home. You're at Green. Bay. You got Jordan Love who's playing. spectacular football. You got Golden. who's going to play. He's supposed to. might have been out. You got, you know, Watson, Tucker, Craft, Jacob, all this. stuff. You got a really good de on. paper. You know, they've got the better. team. I think right now there's a lot of. injuries in the secondary for Carolina. So, um I'm going to lay the three and a.
half and I'm going to take the home. team. >> Here we go. Green Bay Packers minus. three and a half says Chuck Pagano. He. is coming off a hit for last week. He's. only two and five on the season, but he. did hit last week. Is this a tale of. things to come to Chuck Pagano starting. to see the board? Desperate Packers. bottom of the division at four and. three. Carolina Panthers have a lot of. mistakes they can make down the stretch. Are they going to lose back-to-back. games whenever they've been um coming. off a loss? This Carolina Panthers team. very good against the spread, very good.
outright has been a thing that they've. been able to bounce back in a big way. Anything that Chuck say scare you a. little bit that he's taking the Packers. or are you pumped that you agree with. him AJ? Because we know you alltime. leading tackler for the Green Bay. Packers are going to select the Green. Bay Packers, but it's not just because. you're biasy. It's because I think you. love their football team right now. >> I do. I like how their defense is. playing as well. I think Jordan Love is. very very very good. I I don't think he. gets the credit he deserves a lot of the. times. But uh I know Chuck was was uh. you know telling us to to fade him. Was. that just this last week? Last couple.
weeks he was saying he's getting to the. point where he want he wants you to fade. Chuck and all of his picks. I would. never turn my back on Chuck and his. picks. So I am definitely going to ride. with Chuck with the Packers minus three. and a half. I think they win by seven or. 10 and Jordan Love and Bryce Young both. throw for probably 270 plus. >> There you And I had a decision this this. week. >> that with how good AJ's been doing. picking these games, I'm gonna tail AJ. >> Oh, okay. >> And there's gonna be one or two games. that I'm going to try to pick him off. on. >> Yeah, there you go. >> Okay. And this ain't the one. This ain't. the one I I got to start I got to start.
getting back into this. He is. >> smacking me around whenever it comes to. the picks records uh against each other. each week. So, I'm tailing AJ and then. I'm going to try to snipe him on a. couple. Uh and that won't be tonight. That'll be tomorrow when I look for. that. So, I am also going with the. Packers. Feels like it's a clean sweep. Anybody on uh the stage here picking. Panthers plus three and a half. >> Yeah, you are. >> I am too. >> Packers win. Three and a half. Just a. weird number. Feels like maybe a Trace. Mack get back game winner. 2724.
something like that. >> Strictly a number thing for me. The. three and a hook is if it was two and a. half, I'd take Packers. >> Packers win. >> Panthers cover. >> Great game. >> Especially if they both go for 220 plus. >> Over is the bet here. >> You like the over. Over 47 and a half is. what Connor likes. Ty Schmidt, how do. you feel about the way everybody's. talking about this? >> Yeah, I mean the Packers should win. They, you know, like I think they are. the better team. And then, you know, like Chuck said, they really don't like. you look at their schedule. Four of. their next five after tonight, they have. the Patriots, then the Vikings, then the. Rams, then they play the Saints, and.
they have the Bills. So, like you don't. really like they have a tough stretch. coming up here. Uh their defense has. been has been the calling card so far. this year. So, we'll see. love has. played really good. I just they they do. need to, you know, run the football. I. in a couple of the games this year. though, and this has been before Josh. Jacobs, they rely on it a little bit too. much and then that's when they get in. third and nine, third and 11. And it's. like that's why their time of possession. is so bad. like if they get out ahead of. the Panthers, they need to be able to.
run the football and and sustain a lead. a little bit and not just rely on Jordan. Love to have to go out there and throw. for 300 plus yards, which is basically. been the the recipe. Like they've been. so boomer bust. It's either it's. explosives and that's how they're. scoring their touchdowns, chunk plays. Like they really haven't had any like. long meticulous drives, but the Panthers. uh rush defense is terrible. So, I'm. hoping that Josh Jacobs can kind of get. going tonight, but the the pass game is. there. It, you know, it it hasn't been.
for the long time, but like that's how. they need to win. Like, they're not. going to win tonight by rushing for 200. yards, I don't think. >> All right. That's how Tai feels. Con man. likes the Panthers. So does AP Tone. Chuck, AJ, and myself will take the. Packers at home. I am doing that. strictly because I've made a decision to. trail AJ unless I grossly disagree on. this one. I don't think I could find. myself radically disagreeing on the. outcome, but I am excited about an. incredible game tonight. I am excited. about our boost potentially hitting and.
I'm excited for us all to get on a. little bit of a heater here as the rest. of the NFL and college football season. continues. Before we get out of here, Chuck, first of all, great day out of. you. Good coaching stuff, good. leadership stuff, good dadding stuff, good picking stuff, good question stuff. >> Barb story was awesome. >> Yeah, >> great job. >> Hey, good job. Good work, Charlie. >> What the Chucky got up there and started. dancing. Tony even had you from behind. like a homecoming picture. I mean, it. was. >> your breath. >> Yeah. Got real tired doing Jir Gibbs'.
dance. I mean, it feels like it was a. full day. >> It's hard to do. >> It is hard. Well, it's hard to beat. Jamir Gibbs. Yeah. Yeah. You shouldn't. be trying to beat Jir Gibbs. Now, yesterday, because of how terrible AQ. Shipley had been throwing footballs for. these giveaways, we switched over to a. game called dunk. Now, we don't know if. we did the dunk rules right. We made him. up in uh kind of ourselves. He ends up. winning for 30 people $500. He was. excited. He was elated. You are we. sticking with the football toss or do. you want to go throw some donkeys. around? >> I've been thinking about it ever since I.
saw, you know, AQ, >> you know, pull that off and win money. for the Peeps. Um. >> I've been throwing a football for a. long, long time. >> And I got to thinking about it, Pat, and. it reminded me of a story. >> Okay. Okay. public. >> It's it's it's similar. It's got some. good lessons, some good meanings to it. But before our 2014 divisional game at. Denver, >> I talked to the boys the night before in. the team meeting about an archer story.
and I got to thinking, okay, and I had. the bullseye up there. >> and the archer that shoots for nothing. never misses. Nothing on nothing's on the line. No, we. expect whatever just goes out. He never. misses. The archer that shoots for a. brass buckle, he starts to get nervous. Starts shaking a little bit. A little. bit of self-doubt comes in. And then the. archer who shoots for a pot of gold, he.
sees two targets. and he's got no shot. And I'm sitting. back there thinking, you know, when you start, you know, self-doubt, fear of failure, expectations, I don't want to let the. program down. I don't want to let the. people down. >> That's why I can't hit this some [ __ ]. >> I'm thinking, okay, use some of your own. advice. All right. The archer just. shoots for nothing. Never misses. >> So, that's what we're going to do. I'm. going to take that football. I'm. shooting for nothing today. And we're.
making that thing. >> Okay. >> 30 people, 500 bucks. That's a lot more. than nothing. But I do understand where. you're coming from. I think the concept. is about detached focus and maybe. getting into a flow state. And let's not. worry about what the outcome is or what. the prize is. Let's just worry about the. process of getting the job done as if it. was a Monday or Tuesday any other day. And that's why the archer that you're. talking about never won a damn thing. But the archer that was able to make the. brass buckle feel like it was nothing. won everything. And that's who you are. today. >> I love that. >> 30 people, 500.
>> Come on, Charlie. >> All Chuck's got to do is the one hoop. that he's looking at instead of the two. >> He had a little blurry vision before. >> THE ARCHER. THE ARCHER. THE ARCHER, >> 30 PEOPLE, $500. >> THE ARCHER OF INFINITY. >> All you got to do is repost it, >> say something nice to somebody, >> do the dance, >> and put the easiest way to pay. >> Wow.
>> 30 thou h 30 people will win $500. Now, hey, because. >> if our peoples, if our peeps don't take. that, >> right, and store that one, >> oh, they're going to store it, brother. >> An all time moment. >> That was great. >> Trust that. Unbelievable. >> That was good motivation right there. That was good inspiration. That was also. a good message for people like, hey, >> you just focus on what you can do. Don't. worry about everything else. You take. care of yourself, your job, the rest. will fall into place. Congrats to you. Congrats to the 30 random winners. And.
we can't thank all of you. enough for allowing us to do this for a. living. You're the greatest of all time. Be a friend. Tell a friend something. nice. It might change their life. >> We're in this thing together. Chuck, anything to say to the team? >> Great day. >> Great day. >> Great day. >> Great day. >> Great day. >> Great day. >> Happy Halloween tomorrow. I can't wait. to see you all in costume. >> Coach Signnetti will join us tomorrow. Hell yeah. >> I believe we also have. >> No, not going to give it away yet.
>> The Archer of Infamy. Oh, I wish. >> Damian Priest will not be here. >> Martinez. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Punishment. Martinez will not be here. Same person. >> Team on me. Great work this week, Chuck. >> Team on three. One, two, three. Team. Goodbye.
