[Applause]. hello beautiful people and Welcome to. our humble abod the Thunderdome on this. overreaction Monday September 30th 2024. this program starts. now football is awesome and week four of. the NFL season Sunday provided some new. story lines and characters that we will. be chatting about for the next five. months the Chiefs still the Chiefs but.

they lose their top star one of them at. least in Rashid rice and then you think. about the Ravens coming all the way back. are they the new bullies around the NFL. don't look now commanders and Vikings. might be a full on wagon how about the. Seattle Seahawks well they played. tonight against the Detroit Lions and. the Titans are playing the Dolphins to. wrap up this entire week four of the NFL. season it's a fantastic time to be alive. we'll have Adam Scher on in this hour in. about 20 minutes run through any of the. updates that he might have a senior NFL.

Insider for ESPN in the second hour. we'll talk to Bill bich what are his big. takeaways from this week four of the NFL. season what's he looking forward to this. evening and then we'll have uh Joe. flacko in the third hour and then we'll. have Kyle vanoi in the third hour on. ESPN plus YouTube and Tik Tok live uh. we're incredibly lucky to do this. excited to chat with you the talking. table is here at Boston Conor and Bruce. Brown Ty Schmid is out on assignment. everybody should be excited about what's. going to come from that I see you.

wearing a Raiders hat I thought you were. a Giants fan what's going on here I am a. Giants fan but as debut as as often laid. claim to you can have multiple teams. have a little fun see what's out there. Antonio Pierce. obviously all Giants um yeah obviously. former Giants middle linebacker son of a. [ __ ] this dbut fa first of all we blame. dbut for this yeah and then he dives. into this uh I was talking about the. back screen whyatt uh while I was. talking is what I was asking about.

AP tone uh tone what congrats to your. Steelers played a hard flought game and. uh that loud housee is a buzs saw this. Indianapolis coach team now I'm hearing. anony Richardson is going to be able to. come back I guess he his hip injury is. not as serious as we would have thought. uh whenever he ends up uh getting hurt. leaving the game coming back in doing a. little run and uh yeah make square right.

there on the hip he loses the ball and. you know a lot a lot of things take. place he will come back on to the field. to play later after Joe Flaco goes they. set him up for a quarterback run let's. see how it goes he says oh too much. helmet the helmet hit there not called. not called obviously surprise not yeah. everybody's talking about that's clearly. helmet to helmet there make saying I'm. playing football not playing football. they did not call that there was some. other calls that potentially go to the. Indianapolis Colts way but because of. this play because of this outcome Joe. flacko basically becomes our quarterback.

he throws for two touchdowns has no. turnovers kind of all the way back but. with that being said Anthony Richardson. hopefully able to play again going. forward the Indianapolis Colts don't. look now defense even though they give. up 300 passing yards to Caleb Williams. and Justin fields and back to- back. leagues don't love that don't matter. they get a big time offense everybody. knows what they're doing Josh DS his. research but for the Pittsburgh Steelers. you guys are three and0 so for us it was. nice so check where we're at now you. know we might not have looked great. there early but we're taking on an. undefeated team on this particular. Sunday in the lighthouse place going to.

go bananas not a lot of tows going to. get twirled around there those things. were all out early then they kind of go. down after a 14 Zip Start for the. Indianapolis Colts for us it was a nice. little temperature check on where we. were we beat an undefeated team uh going. into week five there's no reason not to. believe the Indianapolis Colts might win. the Super Bowl now for you I think. that's good news you guys lost to a. great team and it was close it was. really close especially down at the it. was very very close very close but. instead you guys lose your first loss of. the Season how do you feel it was. incredibly frustrating um first off. because because just getting marched.

down on the first drive of the game you. weren't even in the suite yet cuz you. were hitting the Anvil you didn't have. time to make it down to the suite yet. because you were hitting the Anvil and. there had already scored seven nothing. ping it 14 nothing and then just. mistakes and penalties and the defense. did not look good but Shane styken has. got Terell Austin's number his last. three times playing the Steelers his. offens have done incredible against the. Steelers defenses it was but when you. get the ball back more than two minutes. left down three as a Steelers and you. are used to winning you are used to.

coming back and winning in those. situations Ben is third or fourth all. time in uh game-winning touchdown drives. behind Brady Manning um I can't remember. oh Drew Brees was the other one and Ben. I think he's tied with Drew Brees in. third and Ben was in the suite it was. the first time all game where he he. looked at us and he was like this is. what I miss most is is being down and. having the ball with 2 minutes left and. make a game-winning drive to win the. football game he's like this is this is. what when it when I this is the only.

time that I really miss football and. that hit and then um there was a snap a. whether it was a silent OneTouch snap or. silent two touches and snap all all game. it looked like it was two touches but. Justin Fields came out he took the onus. that's great leadership on him sticking. up for his rookie Center uh and that. really killed the drive there and then. um that was basic okay so just a little. bit of context if you weren't at the. game at lucasa stadium minute 40 left. there obviously Ste have a chance to go.

down this thing had been dominated by. the Colts the entire time lot of [ __ ]. talking by Indianapolis Colts fans two. Pittsburgh Steelers fans around Lucas o. stadium in in the suite in which there. was abundance Ben rothberger is in there. with Spencer his co-host of the. footballing podcast which is a great. podcast it was great to have him in. there a lot of injures losing her mind. whenever they first see him obviously. because everything that he has done. chitchatting with Joe flacka beforehand. obviously Baltimore Ravens Joe flacko. Pittsburgh Steelers Ben rothberger they. know each other very very well but the. way Ben Roes takes the game in he was.

hey he was living and dying in that. thing I mean he was very invested he has. obvious he's been rothberger so. obviously his decisions versus anybody. else's decisions including Joe flacko. and everything are fascinating to hear. at the time but whenever he says you. know uh this is this is the only time. this is what I miss right here yeah this. imagine he jumps over that he could have. he goes out there he's in great shape. he's down 20 lbs he said from his. playing days so he looks a little bit. thinner cuz I told him that if uh if. right now we were to put full pads on.

halftime show you go take a snap I'll. work the edge I'm bringing you down. that's cuz Ben was never tackled people. would hold on to him he'd be batting. them off like they're like flies or bugs. and then he would throw the ball for 400. yards that's Ben RSB football for 18. years that is literally what he did with. how good a shape he looked like he was. in I told I I snap your eight and half. right now easy and he looks at me. straight faceing and goes you were a. good athlete not a great athlete whoa. and I laugh so hard and like he is hey.

he talked some [ __ ] the whole game was. fun he was incredibly kind he took. pictures with everybody he was nice to. everybody shout out to Ben shout out to. Spencer and shout out to the. Indianapolis Colts get a massive win cuz. my day was much better cuz my dad had. his best friend in town that was fun he. he was he was in there having a good. time with his wife obviously there was. uh obviously uh Ton's wife uh I'm sorry. Nick's wife Carly Ton's wife Erica all. Steelers fan Carly made it on TV a. couple times with her terrible tow I. mean these Pittsburgh fans were in.

abundance and waiting for a moment and. the coach just stomped them out and. that's Indianapolis Colts football and. that's what everybody needs to be. prepared for and having a backup like. Joe flacko is a massive ordeal shout out. to Joe flacko he'll be joining us in. about two hours can't wait to talk to. him he did an interview afterwards with. aidi and uh his accent was the most. absurd thing I'd heard I kind of forgot. he was a CO yeah thick he here it is. here it is here's Joe flacko talking. about the game where he gets subbed in. in slices and dices and legitim Ely wins.

that thing and as those towar twirling. he had to think to himself if there's. any game for me to come into against any. defense this is the one to do the. familiarity that Joe flacko seemingly. had with the Steelers helped us out in. abundance here's him afterwards with a. DD Joe Flo do you ever. age oh believe me yeah I I do hey. he man listen when you're out here in. this environment no you feel like you're. 12 years old I mean I said it last year. wow I mean this is a little bit of a. different experience it's not the best.

not the most ideal when you're uh. trotting onto the field obviously when. your guy goes down but um every time you. get a chance to go out there it's a. blessing and I'm definitely very. fortunate for it what was clicking so. well was it the familiarity with Mike. Tomlin and the Steelers I don't know if. everything was clicking super well but. we did enough you know and um you know. really we was able to rely on some. underneath stuff by Josh DS today like. to get to kind of get us first downs he. made a couple big big third down.

conversions along with Pitman on on that. like second to last Drive third to last. drive that drive ended up being huge so. you just go rely on your guys and Trust. the play goer and everything else takes. care of itself I do have to tell you. Anthony Richardson told us that you were. cooler than he thought. he listen he told me his mom is 8 days. older than I am so there's no chance in. the world that he thinks I'm cool so all. right what about your kids though what. do you think they think of this one this. this is the first game they've come to. this year here and Dad's on the field so.

uh I'll look up there for him and see if. I can find him I'm sure they'll have a. bunch of critiques for me that's about. it we appreciate the time hell yeah Joe. flacko obviously uh massive day for him. I appreciate him saying it's not ideal. whenever your guy goes down he's. obviously been brought in to be a leader. for Anthony Richardson but having that. backup quarterback masso deal and a lot. of other teams we're going to figure out. the depth of their quarterback room as. this season goes on Colts getting tested. early 9-year NFL vet Darius J Butler. your thoughts yes so so happy first of.

all that Cleveland didn't even offer. that guy another deal another. opportunity to come back we were all. very excited when Joe Flaco sign. obviously you know AR was in in and out. of the lineup missed most of last year. so when you got a guy that can just step. in and do this as soon as he gets you. talk about the emergence of Josh DS I. actually think Josh DS at least right. now will be a but much bigger part of. the offense with flacko in there because. of I guess his accuracy and the short. and intermediate throws but I got a. shout out to to kmen you know you give a. [ __ ] about Bruce with his Raiders hat I. mean it was never a doubt for me when I.

saw that sep the flow smash up with com. man pregame you sure I am 100% du once. again people that don't know that aren't. on the internet makes a song each week. for the Indianapolis Colts it is. captivated no doubt a legion of fans and. there are some people H we don't know if. it was AI or editing that was putting. Connor's face on there acting as if. Colts uh Die Hard fan was Connor instead. of defo Connor had a patriot shirt. walking into that building this one he. he had to feel I think he had to take a. stand but nonetheless loud housee was.

amazing yesterday hu huge game what did. TJ watt was kind of kind of quiet. yesterday huh well I don't know if youve. I assume you've seen the picture going. around the internet where he was just. bare hugged on the first touchdown just. the oh oh okay okay yeah kind of quiet. so when you come to that game obviously. you say hey we can't let 90 wreck the. game we got to control the line of. scrimmage they did all those things. dominated for the most part obviously. Justin fields and the boys made a run. there in the second half but that was. great to see especially being down the. start as we were. on defense obviously you lose your.

quarterback and it'd be gritty to get a. win like that against an undefeated. tough Steelers team very very impressive. win by the coach Jeff Flo said in this. environment you feel young that lotous. was alive how not it was alive I don't. know if I'm undefeated uh while hitting. the Anvil but I think I am and if I'm. not I'm just going to act like I am. happy that I couldn't even get back down. to the suite and we're already up 7even. nothing it was 3 minutes flying you guys. cheated and pump noise and I mean you. play you revv that artificial engine.

noise talking about the horsep until 5. seconds are left on the play clock that. can't budy there's a rule we stop at 20. but you still sound like the engine. still roaring because that's everybody. with the horsepower yeah there was a. couple times Ben rothberger goes oh just. like the old RCA day pumping in noise. just like what happened in 04 or 05 or. something like that he said this place. been doing this for a long time I said. whoa Ben welcome to L house and then he. saw lad house spelled out on the L A HD. h a h se he goes what is that I go.

you're in it he goes ladas he goes. That's a y that do they do it for the. Pittsburgh I go no no bud this is the. loud housee he goes everybody say y now. and I go Ben welcome to the loud housee. there it was a uh it was a wonderful. game and hopefully this is more of what. the Colts are we'll talk to Adam schfer. about anony Richardson also Jonathan. Taylor got hurt for uh the Colts there. was quite a flag disparity it did feel. like towards the end there against the. Pittsburghs that's all hey hey that's. football baby and you're thinking that. they're trying to get the Colts to beat.

the Pittsburgh Steelers that's an. interesting take from you yers but I can. respect it speaking of those types of. things uh Kan City chief still. undefeated gritty game against Los. Angeles Chargers Justin Herbert. showcasing emotions that we haven't seen. in a long long time smashing helmet. actually but when you go back to the. story of this whole thing Kan City. Chiefs lose rased rice in a nasty. looking knee injury situation that was. caused by a turnover and then Patrick. Mahomes trying to lower the boom on the. return and in doing so Rashid rice who.

was also trying to Rally to the ball and. make a tackle bang gets his knee. hyperextended that would obviously go on. to be a massive storyline we assume for. the rest of the season for what the. Kansas City Chiefs are going to do at. the wide receiver position we thought. they had the deepest amount of weapons. that they've ever had now they lose like. seemingly the number one guy Travis. Kelce has a big game welcome back Travis. you go TR I don't want to say I'm a. gambling shop okay as he has a 30 some. yard completion to kind of start this. entire thing in the first quarter let's. get this guy involved early 13 minutes. still left on the clock this is first.

minute first drive we're going to try to. get the rock to Travis Kelce to kind of. spell all those rumors and I'm not. saying I'm a sharp when it comes to. gambling believe me I've offered up a. lot of picks that have certainly lost. but last week with all the conversation. around Travis Kelce with Andy Reid. chatting about it Patrick Mahomes. chatting about it Jason Kelce seemingly. almost getting emotional while talking. about it the over under of his yardage. being 47 and a half or whatever it was. that seemed like lock of the century and. lo and behold it was now going forward. no Rashid are we going to see more. Travis Kelce was Travis Kelce.

potentially eating up Defenders for. Rashid rice for Xavier worthy who has a. deep touchdown welcome welcome to the. Highlight back to the Highlight Reel. Xavier worthy how does the offense look. going forward Hunt is going to get the. line share of the carries we assume even. though he's only been back on the team. for like a week and a half as Carson. steel has another fumble but this dude. doing that we thought was going to come. every single week hasn't happened like. that as much but what we'll do going. forward without Rashid rice we chelse. Chargers tough one tough back to back.

loss batt yeah it was they were supposed. to win that I mean that was game feeling. I assume Chargers fans thought that they. would win that uh this is again another. Chargers Chiefs game that ends up the. way that this one ended up but for the. Chiefs are we worried about them are we. uh do we think they're back they have. yet to after they're undefeated 40 the. back-to-back Super Bowl champions. attempting to do something that no NFL. team has ever done win three straight. lombardis that not one time seemingly.

after any of these games had they've. been like we play good football every. one of them now was like we got to get. better we got to figure this out we got. to do this I assume defense is happy. with what they were able to do against. the Chargers but this Chiefs team. they're undefeated and I don't think. they know it and I don't think a lot of. people watching do is this the same. Chiefs or what do you thinken I mean. it's kind of a great place to be if. you're Andy Reed because you don't have. to really look for that that that. motivation anywhere you don't have to. make [ __ ] up like they know what their. standard is and still be winning it is. huge for them obviously you expect. Travis Kelce and his his load to.

continue to be bigger rashed rice coming. into this game he had you know more. targets than Kelsey and worthy combined. so uh you want to see worthy you want to. see more of that now I'm surprised that. he just gave him that free access and. played him off he's got to you know. learn more and more how to separate. himself get get off a press obviously. learn a route tree be able to read. coverages because that's where Rashid. had took a huge step just reading. coverages getting to the open spot being. that threat down the field and kind of a. rack guy so I'm sure they're probably. working the line looking for another. receiver also Juju Smith chuster you.

expect his load to get bigger you. mentioned Kareem hunt you know Carson. still back toback weeks with a fumble. that is the quickest way we all know. regardless of how skilled you are as a. running back if you give that ball away. coaches especially coaches like Andy. Reid they'll take it out of you because. that that that ball is the program so uh. I'm excited to see Kareem hunt kind of. get back into it but the Chiefs are. still the Chiefs they will figure it out. at the end but missing rased rice is a. huge huge blow this off yeah Kareem. Hunt's career with the chief started. with a fumble if you do recall and then. Andy Reid seemingly gives you like an.

opportunity like Carson Ste fumbles last. week he's like hey all right gonna. happen we're not doing it again Karem. hunt fumbled at one time hey we're not. going to do it again and then Carson. steel fumbles again then Kareem hunt. just getting the rock getting the entire. workload if he's same old you know if he. can get back to what he was with the. Chiefs I mean they get they figured that. problem out what would they do with. Rashid big names on the potential wide. receiver trade block big names Amari. Cooper's Nam is all of a sudden getting. tossed in there especially with the. Readjustment of the contract over there.

for the Cleveland Browns who man didn't. even offer Joe flacko you you snuck that. in your answer we just found that out. because uh Mike Florio a pro football. talk talked to Joe flacko after the game. and Joe flacko was asked about his. situation with the Colts is this a good. one is this what you're looking for y y. y he said my phone was not ringing off. the hook let's not get crazy Cleveland. Browns didn't even make me an offer and. Mike Florio goes on to say of pro. football talk has been covering the NFL. for like 30 years yeah can't have Flo. around there can't you're paying a guy.

$230 million you got flacko in town Desa. does what Deshawn's doing right now that. place would be chanting. [Applause]. Flo so they had they seemingly in their. minds couldn't bring Joe flacko back but. I'm happy as hell that he's here but. Amari Cooper allegedly potentially on. the trade block Devonte Adams has been. on that forever I mean they get a win. against the BR and he Gard MCH goes for. 130 yards y that's enough wins the game.

congrats got no turnover who cares you. win who cares but if you're a wide. receiver going to paid a bunch of money. who is like uh pretty much like hey I. want the ball a lot his name is going to. get tossed into the trade thing DJ Moore. allegedly with Chicago Bears because. everything's going on up there is he. gonna be like all this is all fugay. conversation that's taking elij more his. dad went on the you know wide receiver's. D you know that's what they do when. son's not getting the ball hey my boy's. open he's not getting any Target so. maybe I mean maybe that's a name under. seemingly happens in the Browns. organization more than anywhere else uh.

let's stay in the AFC North as we talk. about the Browns there Baltimore Ravens. are back yeah yeah Baltimore Ravens are. back like the Buffalo Bills obviously. there's going to come a game where this. happens for every single team I don't. know if anybody's going to be able to go. undefeated anymore but this Baltimore. Ravens team behind I mean this is first. quarter four minutes into the game. Derrick Henry is going to go for 87. yards okay normally that's third quarter. fourth quarter after your defense has. already been worn down if you let. Derrick Henry get hot in the first. quarter in the first drive it's going to.

be a long damn night and that is exactly. what took place for this Buffalo Bill's. defense uh Derek went crazy other. running back went crazy Lamar Jackson. had some absurd throws I mean like. beautiful throws in key moments on third. Downs had to put it in a spot he. absolutely did that this Baltimore. Ravens team looks phenomenal Buffalo. Bills taking out so obviously people are. going to start asking questions about. them are they going to be able to. withstand an offense is an offensive. line going to be able to just move this. Buffalo Bills defense how's everything.

going to work out for the bills whenever. the game start to matter and on the flip. side on this overreaction Monday people. say Baltimore Ravens now the best team. in the entire NFL because the way they. look who they have and how they play. football that's literally happening on. these Sports now the commanders have. been doing something uh historic okay. Vikings are bananas right now but people. see the Baltimore Ravens play like this. and they automatically go back before. the season where I was like wait a. minute if the Baltimore Ravens play good. football they're the team to beat and. the AFC are we at that point now again.

with this Baltimore Ravens team I mean. I'm at that point we were all shocked. when they started o 0 and2 um you know. first game Lamar it kind of seemed like. he wanted to take it into his own hands. and then John Harbaugh came out and said. hey look Derrick Henry's not going to. get 30 carries a game last week 25. carries the most carries against Cowboys. the most carries 4 a running back in the. Lamar Jackson era and then you back it. up with a run game like this we all knew. it when you put Derrick Henry behind. Patrick Ricard and every big run this. season Patrick Ricard has been on the. field was on the field here great trap.

block uh the other one later on the. field as well Patrick Ricard is an. absolute weapon a lot of business. decisions will be made with 42 is coming. downhill 300lb fullback and derck Henry. like H like how is this dude still this. strong this fast pulling away from DBS. like that that is incredible and then. the defensive side of the ball one of. the best run defens in the game and you. got vanoi who's just been dominant three. games in a row I believe now with two. sacks um he this game kind of got to a.

point where it's like okay Buffalo can. kind of come back 2110 and then that. trick player they decided to run I. believe like second and six maybe right. here where Kyle vanoy actually has strip. sack two smart all over it and then Kyle. Hamilton another phenomenal player right. there in the ball so Johnny on the spot. per usual but yeah this Ravens team's an. absolute wagon right now yeah I think. everybody's at the point where we're. back to the high hopes of before the. season started work like hey only two. and two we get it that there's other. teams that probably have better records. than them but this is who we thought. this Baltimore Ravens team could be. Buffalo Bills Josh Allen there were some.

stats here that came out from hembo. Buffalo had gone 43 consecutive regular. season games without losing by more than. six points Jesus that was an NFL record. they gone for so even when they lost it. was heartbreak at the very end they. obviously end that streak Baltimore held. Josh Allen without a touchdown for the. his first time since 2021 week n that's. 53 straight games damn Jesus wow yeah. Josh Allen had been an absolute dog. Baltimore defense doing their thing once. again we'll talk to Cal vanoi in about.

two hours or so the bills offense vers. the Ravens they had 57 plays and only. four 10 plus yard plays that is a 7%. rate which is the lowest by any team in. any game this season that's what Josh. Allen that's what Josh Allen at to hel. and then the Ravens are the first team. in the history of the NFL to outrush. their opponent by 100 plus yards in each. of their first four games of the season. so it's like wait a minute hembo thank. you for those stats maybe the Ravens are. back cuz they've been able to do.

something that nobody's been able to do. this Buffalo Bills team will that. continue joining us now ladies and. gentlemen is senior NFL Insider for ESPN. can maybe break uh down some situations. that are Brewing around the league for. us ladies and gentlemen Adam. schfer gentlemen happy week four to you. how are we doing hey happy week four. Monday uh to you as well a couple big. games tonight that we'll certainly ask. about here in a little bit but let's. talk about some [ __ ] that has come out. of yesterday uh Rashid rice the injury. for the wide receiver of the Kansas City. Chiefs is obviously going to be one.

that's going to be monitored by. everybody from uh everywhere I I think. with the way the Chiefs are still 4 and0. and not once have they seemingly been. happy about how they have played uh torn. ACL is the expectation but that thing. was pretty hyp extended as well is there. any other potential injuries that could. be taking place and they're looking at. and when you think about the Chiefs. what's their response to this entire. situation you think well he goes down. there and when Andy Reed does the. sideline interview with Tracy Wilson. don't recall the last time where I've. ever heard a head coach say it's bad.

during a game that's something that's. just yeah yeah I mean that is rare when. you get that kind of transparency and. honesty from a head coach at halftime. about a key player it just never happens. and the fact that he said that and use. the tone that he did told you how. serious it was at the time they knew. they knew right then and there now. they'll have the MRI just to confirm it. and the expectation as you mentioned Pat. is that it'll be a torn ACL he'll be out. for the year in that particular case and. he'll be the third key player that they. will have lost on offense at that point.

in time Hollywood Browns after the. remainder of the regular season with the. shoulder surgery that he had Isaiah pko. suffer the eight-week fractured of. fibula so those are some big losses so. now what do they do I I think there's a. few ways they could go about this it's. hard to get somebody in there that. hasn't played in that offense before. that hasn't worked with Patrick Mahomes. in the off season it's not a simple. thing to do so we can continue to trot. out names like DeAndre Hopkins and Amari. Cooper and Deontay Johnson and Adam. thielen and all the names that would.

going to look the last two years they've. made trades before the deadline for wide. receivers kadar's Tony two years ago and. then last year mcole Hardman but Hardman. had played in the system knew the. offense Tony adjusted um they'll look. around absolutely and they may need. another body but they've suffered a lot. of body blows already to an offense that. has been operating at a high level in. the past and still now could be using. more help in the future how how how many. of these wide receivers do you think. actually move we got five weeks I guess.

till the trade deadline you just said. Adam Thelen I didn't really think of him. I thought about Amari Cooper obviously. you're talking about nuke potentially. being on the Move Hopkins on the Move uh. DJ Moore they're talking about him. potentially being able to be on the Move. how many of these guys actually. potentially going to move and how many. players should we think about in a wide. receiver World there'll be a lot more. conversation about the moves that are. made than the actual moves that are made. that's just the way that it works it's. great fodder leading up to the the trade. deadline although in all fairness there.

has been a uptick in activity before the. trade deadline and each of the last. couple of years football's gotten a. little bit more like basketball and. baseball where you're seeing a lot of. moves made at the deadline and again. you're getting a position it's hard for. a receiver to step into midseason when. he hasn't played in that offense when he. hasn't played with that quarterback to. step in and perform at the same level. but if we go to all those players that. we mentioned right Amari Cooper Deontay. Johnson Adam Thelen um DeAndre.

Hopkins uh Devonte. Adams yeah I don't I don't see the. Raiders trading him I I don't see that. happening I mean um not right now should. only not to the Chiefs like there they. the the Raiders got the Raiders got. multiple inquiries this summer and. basically didn't even even entertain the. conversation we like please stop calling. us we're not trading Devonte Adams that.

was this summer now if their record is. such that they're losing games and they. fall out of playoff contention could and. would that change absolutely it could. but that's not how they're thinking. they're thinking we're going to keep. winning like we did yesterday we're. going to get this back on track and. Honeybadger seemingly now Honeybadger. was on the sideline had a bunch of he. was still in pads but they didn't know. what was going on I guess he's got a. calf a heel a groin geez and that that. whole game changes when he's not playing. I think for Kurt Cousins and then Tamm. Hill as well what's going on with those. two down there and the bou well honey. badger had a lingering heel issue that's. been boing him for a while now and then. yesterday he suffered a groin injury so.

now he's got two things going on left. the game I don't think he came back in. and so that's going to be an issue for. that Saints defense which did not. operate the same when he wasn't in there. as for Tamm Hill early in week two he. had a bruised lung now was listed as a. chest injury and yesterday he hurt his. ribs but that came on the opposite side. of where his bruised lung was so he came. back after missing a week yesterday then. went out of the game early after scoring. two touchdown Downs now has a rib injury. which is going to be painful couldn't.

come back during the game so he had a. couple of things he's had to fight. through that are painful injuries here. and we'll see if he can make it back. from those particular ailments this week. or not okay let's see actually I think. the Saints played Thursday night against. the Falcons so sure week so I. FAL bucan Falcons all good we got full. week I okay I NC South game no NFC South. winners too right now uh with Tampa and. Falcons they're both good verse good. right now mhm good versus good right now. the quarterbacks getting a second wind. too which we have a Graphic for later in.

these uh like I don't want to say. midlife but like a lot of these. quarterbacks that were maybe middle in. this modern football now all of a sudden. hey you know how to read a defense you. know how to you know how to do this. entire thing you're almost a weapon. again is the cality there's no way. that's a word cality the cyclicality of. football is Curr currently happening. right in front of our faces you know you. know when you put up that chart here's. the first thing that comes to my mind.

and I wonder if this will take hold. again I want to say at the outset that. quarterback is the most important. position in sports and I don't think you. could win unless you have a great. quarterback but I have. had front office Executives in recent. weeks two of them suggest to me that are. they better off not paying a standout. quarterback as has been the case like we. saw this summer the Jaguars pay Trevor.

Lawrence the Dolphins pay Tu Tong of. aloa the Packers pay Jordan love we've. seen some huge contracts go out Dak. Prescott gets a deal done in Dallas so. the way that these people asked me the. question I thought it was interesting. was are they better off signing a Sam. darnold for $7.5 million if you believe. in your coaches and your organization. and you can Elevate him or you better. off paying a quarterback 5560 million. and being committed to him as opposed to.

spreading all that money into other. players now there are some good. quarterbacks on this list that qualify. like Baker Mayfield when Tampa on him. was like7 half millionar Sam darnold. cheap Andy Dalton cheap Joe Flo cheap. Kurt Cousins not cheap not um Derek Carr. not cheap but cheap by top quarterback. prices in Garden menu I think it was. like 125 million so these are. organizational decisions that I think. some teams are going to have to make. going forward if you have a good Young. quarterback do we want to go pay this.

quarterback the top of the market price. or we better is there a guy out there. that we like enough okay is there a guy. out there that we like enough that we. think that we could make it work with. him save all that money and allocated it. elsewhere my followup would be this I. don't know how long this generation of. quarterbacks is going to exist I think. if you listen to any quarterback talk. right now old quarterback Hall of Fame. quarterbacks talk right now they talk. about this modern offense not being like. dissected defense see what it is then. put your team in the best position to.

succeed now it's like run the offense. how you're supposed to run the offense. here's your read you're looking here. then you're looking here then you're. doing this as opposed to looking at the. entirety of a defense figuring out what. the defense is and then changing the. play I think this generation of. quarterbacks when they came into the. league there's a little bit more of that. I think you were kind of taught that. they've been around a long time so like. this young crop right now that we have. in the NFL of quarterbacks like in five. six seven years are they still going to. be able to do what this group of. quarterbacks has been able to do which.

is like re that's the I think that is. the caveat to these this is why I think. these guys are doing okay is because I. think they can read the defenses better. than the young guys today that have. never been asked to do it in high school. college or now in the NFL they're kind. of just being tossed in there they're. the best athlete on the team they're. able to do their thing the offenses are. adapting to them as opposed to them. adapting to offenses and this is just if. you listen to all the high uh the big. name backs that have ever played in the. NFL they're saying this is the case Tom.

Brady pton Kurt everybody that you talk. to is saying like the quarterback's job. is much easier now even though they're. much better athletes than they used to. be which is why I think these guys are. having the success that they're having. because they're a little bit more. football Savvy I would say and then will. they will they have will they have. continued success though and then will. you you know typically when you pay a. guy 50 $55 million you think hey this. guy can win a Super Bowl with him Lamar. Jackson Jaylen Herz Joe B um you know Tu. in Trevor Lawrence even Jordan love I.

feel like there were some question marks. with that obviously you had a small. sample size with Jordan love in the tour. injury history and other things like. that but I mean the overall thought the. first thing you said shefy is. quarterback's toughest position to play. so you're going to have to play at the. market to keep those guys in the. building and then for these guys that. are playing great now you know when it's. week 12 and it's week 14 now are they. still going to elevate your team then. you know be even better in the playoffs. but kind of on that same note we've seen. the top two guys in the draft Caleb just. got another win Jadon Daniels has been.

absolutely phenomenal we haven't seen. Drake May yet in there you know goet has. be getting his ass deep behind that. offensive line I know some Patriot fans. are kind of split put Drake in there or. save him uh have you been hearing. anything from the Patriots Camp as far. as a potential QB. change dra May came out this morning and. said he is 100% behind Jacobi brassette. not thinking about making a change right. now and it looks like it's going to be. jacobe brassette for a little while. longer I think the Patriots look like. they're following the model or giving. drg May the time that many young.

quarterbacks need that many of them. don't get in today's day and age many of. them are thrust into the lineup right. away before they're ready and I think. that they want to make sure that they're. making a conscientious decision to give. Drake May time but based on what D Mayo. said this morning there's no sign that. they're turning to Drake May anytime. soon okay and is that because they've. had a plan and they're just going to. execute their plan and how long is that. plan do we know what the plan is like. when's by week well yeah the plan when. they went and signed said they did so.

knowing that the quarterback they were. going to draft presumably Drake May was. going to need time and that by signing. jacobe Pro they don't have to rush into. anything now is jacobe brassette playing. at as high a level as some of these. other guys no but he's a quality. Dependable productive leader the kind of. guy you want leading your team and. offense and in your locker room so let. him let him lead things it's not like. they're winning the Super Bowl this year.

anyway they know that and so now the. most important thing they could do is. develop Drake May and let him grow into. the quarterback that he let the boy grow. yeah and let the boy watch Let The Boy. watch jacobe just get his ass beat out. there yeah week after week after week. it's like it's tough to see why you. would want to put Drake May in there. because he's just going to get. slaughtered now with that being said job. we had quite a uh we had quite. conversation about the Drake May. situation before the show went on the.

Jennings not only the catches but he. wears the right color shorts to prep. okay okay all right okay um here here's. the thing that I think is a little bit. problematic for this team going forward. uh yesterday Fred Warner left the game. with an ankle injury oh he didn't finish. the game and so when a player doesn't. finish the game with an ankle injury. that could tell you that his status for. the upcoming game is in Jeopardy they.

play Arizona there's the pick from Fred. Warner yesterday gets. tou so good there it is Boom great play. um so I I think they're hoping that he's. back because last week they lose Javon. Hargrave up front uh they his. replacement Elliott yesterday he. suffered an knee injury Fred Warner. hurts his ankle like there's only so. many of these injuries that you could. withstand and these are significant.

blows to this team and hopefully Fred. Warner is not going to miss any extended. time here red for the KD I saw it on a. report I didn't see it live in the game. he's okay we're just assuming he's KD. he's good I had heard anything that was. significant but you know what last week. Seahawks Lions I know there's a bunch of. question marks there with Kenneth Walker. and I know ragn now and leapor what what. do we need to look at tonight we're. gonna get Snoop Huntley for the Dolphins. tonight as Tua is on injur reserve. second game he'll be missing since he. was placed on injur reserve and they. decided to change it up get a look at. Snoop Hy who I think has played pretty. well in the past and won't surprise him.

if he plays well again tonight but he'll. start against will Levis who obviously. has had a lot of up and down plays he's. played well at times and then has made. some silly mistakes that he somehow has. to get figured out and corrected in time. for tonight's game and then the other. game what's interesting to me is that. the seah defense under their head coach. Mike McDonald has been outstanding this. year they're without their top four pass. rushers tonight no boy MAF no bar Murphy. they're they're missing four guys that. they would like to have Lions don't have.

Frank ragno he's already been ruled out. so both teams operating a little. short-handed on the lines of scrimmage. but uh you've got a situation where. Kenneth Walker is back for the first. time after missing the last two games. had an abdomen injury and so they'll get. him back out there Zack sharet played. well in Walker's absence and we get a. Monday night game in Detroit with those. Lions wearing those very cool new. uniforms are very cool yeah I I agree I. like those I think they look really cool.

it's top of my mind first guy that comes. to mind again is Jaden Daniels unbel. it's tough to play quarterback we saw. from the week that was kind of the theme. of the Year quarterback players taking a. step back so for him to be completing I. believe over 80% of his passes through. four games another phenomenal. performance you know beat beating the. absolute [ __ ] out of the Cardinals using. his legs using his arm you know playing. with his mind like he's just been. phenominal to start the season so that's. the first first search takea away from. uh Sunday Washington has scored on 68%.

of their drives this season which is the. highest rate through four games by any. team in the last quarter Century that is. a rookie quarterback and Cliff. kingsberry back just focusing only on. offense not having to be a head coach. not having to deal with everything else. that goes on going back into the. building that fired him with a rookie. quarterback and they're on a historic. pace of success it's uh the Vikings. offense I think has the most first. quarter uh points I think they're plus.

35 in the first quarter which is. obviously an incredible thing but this. Commander team I mean I think they. punted like one they are a wagon these. are. Dam Daniels has taken full command yeah. this Washington Commander turned around. as something you could not have dreamed. about if you're a Washington football. team fan or a Washington old school. named fan or a Washington commanders fan. it was seemingly Doom and Gloom on the. horizon forever amen and then Jaden. Danos comes in Cliff kingsbery comes in. Quinn comes in with his backwards hat.

and they kind of change the entire. culture the entire mood the entire. confidence and new ownership's obviously. got to be very excited and that City's. got to be excited but this guy following. what CJ stad did last year where we say. it's anomaly don't expect rookie. quarterbacks to be able to do that good. there's too much on their plate to be. able to handle everything and have a. success like CJ stra did boom here we. are yet again Jaden Daniel's off to an. even better start somehow yeah it makes. no sense to anybody it was the. conversation was Caleb Williams was. going into a situation that was tailor.

made for him more an overall pick. probably the best situation ever so for. Jaden to come in and perform like he has. and and Cliff too like it's not the air. rate it's they're actually running the. ball like they're physical they're using. obviously quarterback run game but Brian. Robinson is a weapon we know uh Eckler. is always a threat to getting Nicholls I. believe is his name big shout out to the. offensive line who hopefully they make. the top five we'll see if they can get. into the trench's top five on aqs list. but uh I mean I'm just blown away by. what the commanders have been doing so. far Brian Robinson Jr went for 101 yards.

on the ground and a touchdown obviously. McNichols went for 68 yards on the. ground and two touchdowns I mean it's. just like running the rock pounding The. Rock and then they got weapons and Jaden. whenever he gets out there yeah yeah he. gets rolling now uh two weeks ago. against the Bengals they weren't able to. run then against the Cardinals here. they're able to do whatever they want. mhm I think AQ is going to ask a. question on whether or not have the. commanders 100% figured it out or is. this Arizona Cardinal team potentially. they defensive side uh L ran Lions ran.

all over him last week I think it was. the week before yeah Cardinal defense. isn't isn't great but still a lot of. explosives and stuff yeah Ganon. defensive guy too so you didn't expect. that uh from the Cardinals I didn't. especially when AQ was said they uh. they're potentially uh not not uh hard. the uh oh no yeah saying potentially the. Cardinals defense is classic oh you. don't want to hear that not this early. you don't want to hear that you don't. want that to be said about you you L has. happened here no no way he had a filthy. but like Bo is a dog yeah absolute dog. but yeah I guess the front seven there I.

guess there's a lot of question marks. coming out whether or not and I don't. think it's just run fits I think it's. like uh I think there's some people uh. potentially turning down contact yeah I. don't know I don't I this is just what. our offensive line expert is saying our. offensive line expert uh said with a. straight face would love to run against. Year we love to run against the Arizona. Cardinals joining us now ladies and. gentlemen is a college football national. champion a Super Bowl champion a rer Cup. winner and man lovees stick his faing a. fan for the Green Bay Packers he's the. all-time leading tackler AJ.

Hall Hawker they're saying that. Cardinals defense can't stop the run if. they had to uh that's what they're. saying but I think on the flip side we. should be complimenting commanders for. being able to stay committed to that run. and dominating in that fashion what are. your thoughts AJ yeah I know when dbut. said that was kind of like the takeaway. from the weekend obviously Jaden Daniels. I I thought the same I mean I think I'd. throw Baker in there as well and Tampa. Bay getting a big victory over uh Philly. I I just I enjoy watching them play but. Jaden Daniels is fun to watch man like. that dude how they can pound the ball I.

think their defense is underrated as. well they're just they're fun to watch. remember when Dan Quinn took this gig I. remember people were talking about like. yeah this isn't really the best gig. obviously when it comes to NFL head. coach openings right now and he's he's. making the best of it man they look good. go back to uh that side shot of his run. right there this is one of the plays. that uh AQ showed me uh so watch number. two there on this next angle. everything's flowing to the his left the. Commander's right everything he stutters. to go check back left so does he not.

know his keys or did he not want like. he's the only person on the entire field. that thinks maybe the ball's going back. the opposite direction and because he. waits they're able to pull and just pin. him very quickly so is that run fit is. that scheme is that not wanting to shoot. is that what is it I think there's a lot. of question marks around this Cardinal. defense right now yeah you got to you. got to try to get over the top of that. and send it back that's the only chance. you have is the pursuit coming inside. out when you're in that position but he. was he was literally. they were running at him and he uh he's. the only one on the field that check. something made him yeah something made.

him hesitate like something was coming. back across the ball yeah but every. human on the commander is all going the. same direction like there's every key is. uh yeah so it's like that one step. basically gets offensive lineman clean. look at it and Jaden out theide so. perfect execution from the commanders if. you want to talk about that but a sent. that one to me and was like Cardinal's. kind of giving them to you had a crack. block too from Noah Brown I believe that. was off is so whenever that crack block. happens for DBS it can create a little. bit of hesitation because you know.

obviously that's an eligible now is he. going to throw the ball back no it's a. full run fit at that point but that can. create some hesitation at some point. when you have that type of speed you see. with Lamar Jackson all the time like it. just takes one step in the wrong. direction and they're out the gate. especially with how athletic these. offensive linemen are now these we talk. about the D line being incredibly. athletic and they are obviously you got. guys there 280 290 running like four FS. four sixes I don't know how it works but. bodies are doing that now that is. awesome for the NFL offensive lineman. too if you're just one one half a step. out of position they're going to find.

that and they're going to be able to get. it you got to get him before they get. rolling and shout out to like that guy. he was just looking for whoever he could. get and he's almost too far down the. field to pick up his guy it's like. congrats to commanders that's all taught. that's executed and that's attention to. detail commanders are very different now. unbelievable this was an line that gave. up like 70 sacks last season and the and. the year before like and now the Cliff's. come in and and you guys always talked. about when you had that extra Dimension. with Jane Daniels running the ball and. it's an extra Gap and everything like. that just makes so makes things so much.

easier on the entire offense Jane can. spin it too I don't know how far along. he was in being able to read defenses. and that's not a knock on Jane Daniels. that's just a knock on quarterbacks. coming into the NFL Patrick Mahomes. didn't say until like his third year or. something Midway through did he start. understanding what's going on on the. other side CJ strad seemingly was able. to pick it up pretty quick last year and. the way that offense has continued to go. but like Jaden is a monster he's play a. lot of football too a lot of snaps in. college so he he's seen defense he's. been well coached obviously we know what.

type of coach Brian Kelly is on the. offensive side when it comes to. quarterbacks and then Cliff when you. putting them in situations where you. making like that throw right there. that's a dino route double post that. first post is clearing out that safety. and the help and then the corner is. outside leverage once you make that. quick read that's a uh that's that's a. good easy throw not easy throw but it's. a good easy read for him to make an. accurate throw set look at Gard just. look at gardak try to block it's. just. situation uh congrats to the commanders.

life is good I assume for your fans uh. we're all incredibly happy for you. joining us now ladies and gentlemen is a. man that is considered the greatest head. coach in the history of the NFL and we. believe he should be considered the. greatest general manager in the history. of the NFL as well ladies and gentlemen. Jaden Daniel's success which we think is. pretty pivotable uh with the Run gamees. also success or we can move to the. Baltimore Ravens being back and their. run game being the reason why either one. you want to kind of chat about I would. love to hear but this Ravens team I. think is now playing like the team. everybody thought they were going to. into this season do you agree with. that yeah I do I think they definitely. found their stride here the last couple. weeks um. coming off the last year's game with the. uh Chiefs not running the ball enough.

running game getting established it's so. much easier to do that when you play. from ahead getting off to a good start. like they did last night and of course. Derrick Henry once he gets rolling um. he's he's tough to stop uh I think a. little bit of Buffalo situation got. exposed the last night just their. overall size and physicality uh you know. trying to play nickel the whole way um. or most of the way it's just tough um. against a big physical team like. Baltimore and and as I've said before. Baltimore puts a lot of pressure on you.

because they're probably the biggest the. most physical offensive line running. team that there is but they're also very. very fast with obviously Jackson Z. flowers. agalar the receivers are very fast so if. you put too much size and not enough. speed out there you got problems and if. you put too much speed not enough size. out there um you got problems too and. Hill was a big signing for him and uh in. last week or whatever it was two weeks. ago and you know he he certainly is a.

you know a great Dimension to add you. know along with Henry okay so let's talk. about uh their run game a little bit. more Patrick Ricard fullback is. seemingly The Talk of the Town for a lot. of these highlights all the long runs he. is Bing somebody we've obviously been a. big fan of his for multiple years. because he's former D lineman 280 lb 290. lbs he's in there to just clear and W. shot but he could know a catch ball. guy's pretty athletic loves his job that. type of offense the need of a good.

fullback is obviously there what are. your thoughts on Patrick rard I mean he. just takes up two blockers right there. in the hole for Derrick Henry and why. did anybody allow derck Henry and. Patrick rard to be in the same back. field that seems to be that seems to be. cheating coach well yeah obviously. there's no weight limit on that so uh so. yeah Richard was uh that he was a key. guy and when we played them uh we. treated him as the point of attack and. the problem the hard thing about that is. um he's at the point of attack but it.

doesn't always where he lines up now. when he lines up in the back field he. obviously can go either way but when. they line him up in the wing or in kind. of that offset fullback position um he. can he can be at the point of attack or. he can come back across the ball on. their counter plays and so it's sort of. hard to set your defense because you. don't know where he's going to be he. builds that extra Gap and and obviously. he's a big guy when he gets matched up. on a linebacker which is usually who. he's blocking and so that extra Gap that. gets created in those two back sets is.

is tough you don't know where it's going. to be so defensively we always try to. get um a a big body at the point of. attack where he was and sometimes you. didn't know that till after the snap so. our linebackers would if you will like. rotate um into those off tackle holes to. to try to match because most of the runs. come behind him and then every once in a. while Jackson will keep it and go the. other way you need somebody to take care. of him on the backside but uh you know. Rashard is the point of attack blocker.

and so U that's a big problem but if you. start loading up too much there you have. those explosive players in the back end. that can get you or you have no pass. rush against Lamar because you you just. have a bunch of big slow guys in there. trying to stop the run and then and then. he kills you with scrambles and sweeps. and that kind of thing so they're really. a tough team to match up against yeah. and they got Kyle vanoi buzzing on the. defensive side six sacks in three games. including a strip sack on uh little. trickery last night with uh Josh Allen. what a stud van noi is coach what an.

absolute stud still in 2024 crushing. right. now yeah Kyle's a real instinctive. player um he's a little bit of a. combination of defensive end outside. linebacker could also play a little bit. inside linebacker but he's very uh aware. instinctive and and crafty out there. similar to uh ninkovic uh who we had for. a long time. uh where they're they're not just an. elite Edge rusher but they know how to. rush they're really good on games really.

instinctive could Dro in the coverage. and can do a lot of things give you a. lot of Versatility on defense and so uh. Kyle's got a ton of experience he's a. really smart guy um it's hard to fool. him on on those kind of play. misdirection plays bootlegs reverses. things like that um he he he really does. a good job of of you know sniffing those. out he'll be joining us in about an hour. I can't wait to talk to him and let him. know that you said those things I'm sure. that'll make him feel very good on this. glorious over reaction Monday go ahead. AJ coach I want to Pivot to uh Minnesota.

they went into Lambo and they were up. 287 at half and then they end up they. came away with a victory but it was. close they only scored three points in. the second half like what was your. philosophy on playing with a lead but. being up ahead so much early like how do. you come out in the second half and. still kind of keep your foot on the gas. but not you know not blow it and all of. a sudden zero Blitz and let him back in. the. game yeah you know that's uh as you know. that's kind of human nature AJ it's a. tough one when things are are going good. you tend to ease up a little bit and I.

think I think we've seen that a number. of times uh this year already teams that. have uh three score leads and then. whether the opponent comes back and. catches them or doesn't catch them but. they get it back to a a one- score game. like Green Bay did so um that's. definitely a mentality and and sometimes. uh look if you're down 28 whatever it is. uh you don't keep doing the same thing. you make some adjustments and then if. you're on the other side of the ball in. this case defensively um you've got to. recognize what adjustments they're.

making based on the score and then shift. away from that game plan because the. game plan you were using when it was a. competitive game isn't really. appropriate anymore so uh I think you. know that's uh something obviously that. Minnesota's going to have to take a look. at but also just not playing from ahead. um they had I think 16 sacks going into. the game and 15 of the 16 sacks were. with the lead you know defensively uh. when you can tee off and Rush a passer. and uh that's where you get a lot of. those negative plays strip sacks um and.

tip balls and things like that and the. DBS can break on the ball and so forth. so um I think they're look you never. want to be behind but at some point. they're going to have to play from. behind or play from a a competitive. situation um and you know we'll we'll. see how well they do on that but playing. from ahead is uh is certainly the. preferable way to play and and a lot of. these teams that are getting off to a. fast start like Tampa did yesterday. against Eagles it they just kind of. cruise through the whole game yeah to. your point there first quarter this. season the Minnesota Vikings have scored.

38 points and their opponents have. scored three points that's plus 35 in. the first half so to your point about. having to maybe fend off something uh as. you go through the season they haven't. experienced that it's actually like. historic I think what they're doing. right now in the first quarter. especially with what the rest of the NFL. is seemingly doing on the offensive side. of things Sam darnold's crushing it. which leads to this question here from. Connor yeah coach as a when you look at. the Sam darnold situation obviously he's. only on a one-year contract so after. this year he'll be a free agent but for.

Minnesota Without Really knowing what JJ. McCarthy is do you think that they can. just kind of say okay we can let Sam. darnold walk because what if they do. continue to win you know win the. division possibly have a run in the. playoffs do you think that kind of. changes the GM's thoughts when it comes. to the situation and plan for JJ and do. you think that they actually might stick. with darnold going forward no matter. what you know we took JJ in the first. round he's still the quarterback of the. future well I think it would definitely.

change things if that were to happen uh. that's what happened with Brady that's. what happened with Kurt Warner and Trent. green um when you're when your. quarterback takes you to Super Bowl. Championship uh what else you wanted to. do that's a pretty big commitment to. make so. um look I don't know all the details. obviously that that's certainly an. internal decision and they've done an. excellent job of putting that team. together and having two quarterbacks is. a lot better than having none um we all.

know that so you know Sam is is playing. great and and he's had um you know. really been been pretty good everywhere. except the Jets everybody that's had him. has liked them and I've talked to. coaches that have you know really been. complimentary of not only his skills but. his work ethic his attitude great. teammate and all that so I don't really. know what happened at the Jets but um. he's doing what a lot of people thought. he would do um and I'm talking about the. last few years that have been with him. and so um it's a great opportunity for.

him and he's taken advantage of it just. like Baker Mayfield did and Gino Smith. guys like that like these guys on their. kind of second or third time around have. really uh really shown that they're. they're quality quarterbacks in the. National Football League and we're. talking about uh tonight and Gino Smith. here in a little bit obviously and Baker. and that Buccaneers team is awesome can. we can I ask you about the situation Tom. Brady and Baker field where uh basically. Baker Mayfield I don't know if he meant. to do this but it certainly came across. as it was a lot stressful times whenever.

Tom was in the building I think guys I'm. a little bit different than that it's. not as uptight maybe if seemingly what. he said and I don't know if he meant to. take a shot at Tom Tom kind of I think. had to respond obviously because how big. of a deal it came Andy was calling the. game he said um I thought it was. stressful when you don't win a Super. Bowl and this isn't a daycare we're here. to work was basically uh kind of what he. said that mentality has he always been. that way cuz lot of people are like well. that's the Patriot Way that's what. happens whenever bellich che's your. coach and people point out about how.

some of your assistant coaches go to. another place and everybody talks about. how it doesn't work here that's not how. this is going to go you and Tom like a. perfect match for that type of culture. and why do you think you know other. people I don't want to say view it as. differently but they do view it as. differently than seemingly everywhere. else well I do think Tom and I were a. good match there I think that uh look. Tom was one of those players that uh. look Tom could have fun and and he could. you know pull pranks and make fun of. people and be made fun of and all that.

but when it was time for business he was. all business whether that was in the. meeting room or walk through on the. field um there was nothing more. important to him than everything being. done right not just his job but the. players around him the proper timing the. proper alignments and so forth and. anybody that played with Tom I think. would you know support that Julian Rob. Troy Brown I mean you name it so um and. and that's kind of the way I was and you. know other people said well we didn't. have fun I mean let me tell you some. winning six Super Bowl championships was.

fun going to nine Super Bowls was fun uh. winning those AFC championship games. that was fun um the fun was really the. the winning and and I and I I certainly. understand where Tom's coming from um. honestly I think there's a lot more. stress when you're not winning um. winning is hard it's very hard in the. National Football League and and I think. you got to put a lot into it and it's a. very fine line between winning and not. winning especially at you know when you. get to the final you know week or two of. the season so um look I in the end I.

think both those guys have a lot of. respect for each other I don't think. either one of them really is malicious. um look Baker's his own person Tom's his. own person um they're both very. successful nobody's more successful than. Brady I don't know how anybody could. question anything Tom's done um you he's. probably the greatest player of all time. and and certainly had the most success. of of any NFL player so um we let's. leave it at that but look winning is. hard and if you want to put a lot into. winning and you're satisfied with the.

results of winning then look you had the. interview with Coach Sabin right and. that was kind of the same thing it's. like yeah I enjoyed it the night after. the national championship I was back on. the road recruiting the next day right. yeah well I mean that's sort of what it. is if you want to keep winning you got. to keep working or the competition will. catch up to you yeah it takes What It. Takes I think it's always what he said. there and I don't I don't think Baker. knew that it was going to be taken the. way he was taken whenever he said it I. think he was just trying to describe a. different thing and Tom handled it. obviously Baker ended up winning the lfg. award after the game nice so Tom gives.

an award each game Who uh want it Baker. W it they had a conversation uh live it. was like an interview obviously to your. point they have a lot of respect for. each other two different people. individual people and uh I think. Buccaneers fans certainly if Baker's. able to continue to do what he's doing. love them both uh I I love I love just. hearing that type of [ __ ] though because. like every building is its own operation. you know and then but everybody was. talking about the Patriot Way like every. building I don't know if you guys were. talking about how every other building. was operating but I know every other.

building was talking about how y'all. [ __ ] are operating and that uh. that's a massive compliment obviously. and uh it worked it worked now there's. another team trying to chase your guys'. dynastic greatness they're going through. some stuff right now tone has a question. for you yeah coach before the season. Chiefs obviously going for their third. title in three years and we talked about. how they were bringing in Hollywood. Brown they have Rashid rice they drafted. Xavier worthy they have PCO like they. they could get back to the offense that. they were a few years ago but now. they've lost Hollywood Brown they've. lost rashed rice they lost Peko so it's.

just Mahomes and pretty much Kelsey. again do you do you see them reverting. back to kind of how they played last. year where it was defense and taking. care of the football or and is there any. team is it just like is it if they have. Mahomes they have Kelce they have Andy. they're going to be. okay well I I don't think you're okay. cuz you have three people it takes a lot. more than that to to win a championship. um but that's a good place to start look. I think it sounds like they'll get Peko. back rice obviously is a big loss I mean.

that's a kid who really came into his. own uh you know Worthy's an explosive. player but I don't know if he can give. them what what Rice gave him U but I. think that they're going to have to find. their way to win and they've done a. great job of that they've won in the. kicking game they've won on offense. they've won on defense um and they're. just going to have to F and they've done. a good job of that in their last I don't. know how many game winning streak they. have 10 games whatever it is um they've. won a a lot of close games and they've. they've made stops they've made field. goal kicks they've they drove the ball. down and beat the 49ers with a touchdown.

in the super bow so uh it seems like. they find a way to do whatever they need. to do to win which is the mark of a good. team and everybody's capable of stepping. up um certainly they have to be looking. at it saying um this is going to be this. is going to be tough we got a lot of. work to do um we'll see what happens as. the season goes on as you get into. October and um maybe their potential. trades out there they certainly have. done a good job with their salary cap. management they're they have cap space. they have money um this is not a team.

that's going to fall apart um from a cap. standpoint anytime soon uh they're well. positioned to sustain their uh I would. say make keep the majority of the. players that they want to keep and so. maybe that opens up an opportunity for. them later on in the league maybe it. doesn't but we'll see they've been. active I wouldn't count I wouldn't count. them out just yet yeah they've been. active the last two years at trade. deadline uh who knows if they will. once again but they're in the middle of. it they're uh they know it everybody all. systems go they have yet to be happy.

after a win and they're 4-0 so that's. Chiefs football in a nut that's not a. bad thing yeah in in a nutshell go ahead. AJ coach the Philadelphia Eagles. obviously get uh tons of attention paid. to them we know how passionate their. fans are how much they care I guess what. can you do in the moment like what can. Nick serani and this team do to kind of. get back on track it seems like things. just are not going in the right. direction there's still plenty of time. but how do you how do you do that as a. head. coach well first of all I think the byee. probably is a good time for these guys.

um Philly you know maybe they'll have a. chance to get these receivers back and. and kind of and and Lane Johnson and get. some of their key players back on. offense um but you know it's a challenge. look they've lost 10 of the last 13. games so when you sit there and say Well. they're one of the best teams in the. league I don't know being three and 10. uh that's kind of a stretch if you look. at what's happened recently uh but they. do have a lot of good players they have. a good team I'm not saying they're not a. good team I'm just saying they haven't. done very well lately so uh maybe this. by week's a good time for them to reset.

um certainly they've got to play you. know better defense than what they've. been playing they just gave up way too. many points too quickly uh they're still. turning the ball over too much um and. Barkley's a an explosive guy but uh you. know he can only do so much we saw that. when he was with the Giants and once you. put Smith and brown out there along with. GD and Barkley you you have one offense. you start taking couple guy those guys. out of there and uh it's it just becomes. you know a little bit uh watered down so.

um I think by week comes at a good time. for them hopefully for them they can get. healthy reset a little bit get back to. playing you know good Philadelphia Eagle. football and that means getting off to a. good start and playing from ah head um. just trying to play catch up and throw. the ball all over the lot um you know 45. times and all is just not a good formula. for any team but I don't think that's. really the way the Eagles want to play. or should play that's Kell mo football. though historically that is Kell Moore. offens coordinator of football and he. won't give the damn ball to saquin to. start the game come on don't don't give. the damn ball it's there's mad mad.

Eagles fans mad mad Eagles fans about. the decisions that are being made that's. going to happen though whenever you lose. especially in the fashion that they did. let's look at this evening shall we. debut got a question for you coach yeah. the game tonight not a lot of mad Lions. fans right now you talked about kind of. building teams uh we talked about the. Run game with Patrick Ricard and. Baltimore him kind of been the focal. point of that but who's the focal point. in Detroit I know they have a great. offensive line over 40 rushes last week. matching up against this Seattle defense. who once they get you behind the sticks.

they can get after you and get ugly. those pressures but how do you see that. game plan that matchup playing out. tonight the Detroit Run game in that. Seattle. defense well I think actually I think. you hit it right there on the Hy but um. the the key to me for the Lions is to. keep the pressure off of golf uh they. need to play from ahead uh not go back. there and throw the ball you know all. day we saw them trying to do that. against Tampa and that you know didn't. go well um their offensive line is very. good they have you know good set of.

running backs they're explosive uh but. they really need to just stay ahead on. the chains stay out a long yarded. situations uh and and let golf be who's. an I think an excellent you know first. and second down quarterback um you know. not a little bit more not quite as good. on third down in the red area in some of. those clutch situations so you know use. the whole team don't just you know throw. it all on his shoulders. um and obviously keep the score down on. defense you know not let the game get. away from you there which you know. they've done a pretty good job of doing.

but I would say for um on the Seattle. side of it the real question is the. offensive line uh can they can they. block the the Detroit front can they. block Hutchinson and the rest of that. front I think that's a big challenge for. him Gino has done a great job of I would. say maximizing his opportunities and. avoiding some of the rush and and all. that but that's I think that's still. going to be a big challenge for for the. Seahawks is whether they can whe they. can block the front consistently um. they've had a trouble they had trouble. doing that but gs's bailed them out with.

some scrambles and some extended plays. and um he's probably going to have to. keep doing that for a while love. watching Gino play football the way he's. playing especially with his entire story. of getting to this point this is a. massive one on ABC let's go to the one. on ESPN Titans Dolphins Snoop Huntley is. going to be starting for the Miami. Dolphins he's from Miami okay we got. Tyreek hill we got a team that is uh I. think there's some stats coming out. about really never having the lead this. Dolphins team it's vastly different than. what last year was and then the.

Tennessee Titans are their own story. with Will Levis at the helm there's been. some great there's been some Wonder this. guy's may be on the trade uh block. DeAndre Hopkins how do you see this game. going on ESPN. coach well I think it's a big game for. both teams um it's it's been a tough. start for both of them and somebody's. going to be feeling better about it. after tonight and somebody else is going. to be feeling like we're really looking. down the barrel here so um I think it's. a big game for both teams and and um.

obviously Tennessee's you know young. program I mean quarterback's got to stop. making mistakes and and turning the ball. over and putting the team at risk um if. they can do that then they probably have. enough to you know be competitive in. both both most games but um they've just. had too many you know bad decisions and. bad plays that that have cost them. already in this season and that's. they've got to put stop to that Miami's. you know uh obviously undergoing some. changes and and and you know hasn't been.

able to be as productive anywhere near. as productive as what they were uh. offensively and I think this you know. speaks to the Kansas City example where. you take away a guy or two and and it's. still a pretty competitive team you look. at um Miami or or maybe the Eagles uh. losing a couple of their guys at the top. and uh it really you know has much more. of an adverse effect so um teams like. San Francisco and and Kansas City that. maybe have a little bit more depth and. balance uh hopefully for those teams.

they can survive uh some of the rough. spots in the schedule and then you know. get everybody uh back when they when. they need them most at the end of the. year and and be the best team they can. be I'd say maybe some of these other. teams that don't have as much depth uh. could run into some rough spots and and. you know their schedule or their record. reflect that and then then they're. they're you know looking up looking up a. hill yeah uh from your answer there. about Titans Dolphins feels like you. think both teams are going to lose. somehow yeah I'm excited to see I'm. excited to see how that.

works uh whoever whoever wins this one. is going to feel a little bit better. tomorrow is what he said about how. things are going that's just reality of. the matter that is just the reality of. the current situation reality yeah but. you can't you can't go on a winning. streak until you win the first one so. you get one and maybe you get another. one and before you know it you know. you're three and three or you know 4-. two or whatever it is you know and and. you can look win two or three games in. this league is not unheard of uh but you. got to get that first one and then you. got to string another one together and. then you maybe get a break and before.

you know it things can change in a hurry. especially this early in the season um. so it's it's there's a long way to go. but for some of these teams the clock's. ticking Jacksonville is another one um. you know they play the Colts this week. another division game right. soot Colts are hot right now Colts are. hot right now I don't know if you know. that was their best defensive effort of. the year so maybe things are starting to. you know St out there a little bit but. that's um you know that's a big that's a. big game for Jacksonville I mean again.

you just can't fall too far behind too. early or you know you end up having to. you know go 10 and one or whatever nine-. two in the last 11 games or that type of. thing and it's it's hard you know to me. you really want to try to be you really. want to get to five and three at the. halfway point now if you're five and. three then you know you got a chance to. win 10 games Okay um you know five at. the last nine. uh so right my math right there yep good. math yeah y so you know so you're okay. there I'd say when you get to you know.

three and five then you know now you got. to win seven out of nine or that type of. thing eight and there's not much room. for err so it's just if you can get to a. little bit over 500 at the halfway point. then you know you're going to probably. you're going to be in it the rest of the. way whether you make it or not that of. course some teams do some don't it comes. down to tie Breakers and stuff like that. but you're in it to the end um you know. when when you got when you have a losing. record halfway through the season you. just got a lot of ground to make up and.

it's not just you winning it's now you. got to start counting on other teams. losing yeah anytime you start Wishing. Upon stars for other teams to have bad. days consecutively uh that's when you. know you're in tip deep [ __ ] let's talk. about a situation that I think a lot of. people are going to want to hear your. take on before we let you go we can't. thank you enough know you're very busy. um the New England Patriots right now. coach Mayo has come out and said you. know we have a plan jacobe Brett is our. starter he is our starter going forward. you got a lot of Patriots fans calling. for Drake May to get in there because. how the season's going then you have. some Patriots fans saying behind that.

offensive line that's what we want Drake. May to do have you been paying attention. to it all how do you feel like coach. Mayo is handling it what do you think is. the conversation that should be had. about having a plan for a rookie. quarterback and either sticking to it or. kind of veering off whenever things. aren't going as maybe everybody outside. the building thought it should. go right well Pat I'll be honest with. you I have no idea what the plan is so I. don't know I can't comment on that uh if. Mayo says he's got a plan then I guess.

he's got one and we'll have to wait to. see what it is um I don't know but. that's ID say there's a number of issues. there um you know one is can't move the. ball and can't score um you know got a. touchdown off of the field goal on you. know 63 or field goal whatever it was or. field goal and then got a touchdown off. the uh f kickoff but uh you know. otherwise had a hard time moving the. ball and I don't know exactly what the. numbers were but uh the amount of time.

that uh perie had to throw was was. pretty high um I I got to think that in. terms of the amount of time before the. ball was released um had to be the. highest in the league or close to it um. so think there are some pass rush issues. there there are some you know scoring. issues and um the Joey Sly is a great. you know that was a great addition for. him they got a they got a good kicker. that's a big upgrade um from where we.

were last year but uh i' say there's. some other things that have to be worked. out and and uh obviously they got the. protection straightened out that cost. them the game against Seattle on the. Block field goal but um we'll see we'll. see what the plan is I have no idea what. it is I thought they told you on way out. maybe I thought they told you a plan. gave you a memo I thought you were still. on an email list something like that uh. it's a it's obviously no that email got. cut off the next day so email how about. your uh fob couldn't get in the building. you know we see that on Hard Knocks.

NFL yeah they should have beat the. Texans yesterday you watch that game. they had multiple opportunities to put. the Texans away at the end and they did. not what happened CJ St in a Str house. stred them and that's just kind of the. story of the AFC South but that's the. difference between teams that win and. teams that don't win it's like the.

Jacksonville Jaguars boom bill belich. just talked about it Jacksonville. Jaguars are currently the team that. doesn't win and uh that's a shame they. got good fan base down there they got. good fan base down led the entire game. week one against the Dolphins they had a. walk off 50 something yard from wi it. but yeah we you know that that's stuff. but I love seeing Bill like uh when he's. in NFL films he was breaking down that. old Steelers three four defense kind of. throwback days with all the 90s. linebackers and but every week is. something the week before I think he.

went down the whole Shanahan tree and. all the you know guys that came from it. so I love seeing Bill doing his thing. yeah bill is great we appreciate the. conversation sounds like he uh I don't. know what the plan is in New England. hope Mayo's got one I guess what he yeah. I guess that he is not sure what it is. but I mean they got a lot of problems. party could just stand back there make a. couple sandwiches throw the ball it has. to be the most in the entire NFL fell uh. obviously the protection's its own issue. they can't move the ball they can't. score points so I think they got a lot. of issues yeah exactly kicker can't move.

the ball can't score points that really. put it over the top when he can't move. the ball can't score points like well. what can you do then if you can't do. that got quite an upgraded kicker. though 60 60 yard yeah that was sweet. yeah he's he's certainly good uh how. about kickers young way coup hits a 58. yard game winner for the Falcons dog. absolute dog so much like whenever. players that are good at basketball in. the NBA go to the foul line at the end. of a game in which they're winning the. entire crowd chance MVP MVP MVP I'm not.

sure how many guys have missed while the. MVP Chan is happening for these free. throws at the end of game I very rarely. see it I think it makes them tighten up. a little bit anytime young way coup. comes onto the field that entire Stadium. the Mercedes-Benz Stadium goes. C literally while he's kicking it he had. 50 plus earlier in the game I think he. hit three in total including this one to. Win It are four in total with this one. to win it just an absolute stud big time. win for the Falcons we talked about this. earlier honey badger leaves that game.

kurk cousin starts working in the middle. of the field tames Hill leaves that game. all of a sudden the Saints on short to. go aren't the same team tames Hill had. two touchdowns I believe Kamar had a. touchdown and then the Falcons get a big. time win leading into a Thursday night. matchup against the Buccaneers that's a. good one for the NFC South all a great. that's a good one down there big time. kick out of young way cou the kickers. continue to dominate this big time kick. kickers obviously that's been the one of. the themes of the year but to your point. once honey badger left that middle of. the field start hitting him the. receiving weapons for uh the Falcons.

been great and that tastes of him I. think we talked about it with JJ Watt. when he was on uh last week and like. where he affects you most is like third. third and short in red area like as a. defense you almost have to have like a. TM Hill period where it's like all right. we got to go over these plays these. quarterback power Run games or whatever. it may be so it is a weapon to have when. you're the Saints you know down so you. lose them for who knows how long that's. tough for them to you know adjust but. what the Falcons are doing and then. obviously what Tampa's doing on the. outside I don't think there'll ever be a. good run team as they're built right now.

but if they can get those weapons going. on the outside and Bakers get dispending. it man they're dangerous Mike Evans had. another touchdown of course M continues. to happen back to the kickers point. 34.9% of points scored this season have. come from kickers uh that would be the. highest rate in the season in the. history of the NFL previous high was. 34.6% in 1993. it was a good year. 1993 they're bombing it back then let's. go pens the the. 34.9% is a uh that's a high number.

kickers are making kicks too like that. is happening at a rapid rate I believe. Brandon Aubry or the Cowboys are going. to be on this show at some point nice I. had interaction with him put him over. big complimented him he responded says. he knows the program that was a big deal. yeah he need to know when they told him. he was going to miss that last kick. Giants on when did you get Z said it was. too short I was okay with it too me too. his 60 yard earlier in that game he just. makes it look so easy it is just a nice. simple swing filthy um there is a bunch.

of stats that hembo sent over that I. think are warranted of being talked. about the Steelers defense conceded more. more third down conversions yesterday. against the Colts than weeks one through. three combined geez were they six of 10. something like that or over 60%. something like that uh seven uh seven in. the first three weeks and then eight. yesterday that's Colts football baby mhm. that's Joey flacko doing his thing um. jets had 10 offensive penalty that's the. most by any team in any game this season.

en tied the most in the history of Aaron. rogers's career speaking of Aaron Rogers. he was hit 18 times yesterday that's. tied for most in any game in his career. now there was a torrential downpour. storm I guess the weather was horrendous. the offenses were as well Aaron was. getting hit a bunch they weren't moving. much there was a time where he had like. seven yards uh in passing and bow Knicks. had -2 yards in passing we're talking. historically statistical shitty day for. these two teams and the Broncos get out.

with a win coach Salah and Aaron Rogers. publicly disagree on the use of uh. cadences and everything like that it's. uh back to Jets football and I I don't. think Jets fans should give up I think. we'll talk to Aaron tomorrow and he'll. obviously have a message about how that. game is one you got to win but it's. different than any of the other ones. with the weather and everything that was. happening we're obviously not happy with. the outcome but we're going to learn. from it that'll probably be his. messaging but Jets fans are like here we. go again we lost to Bon Knicks we lost B. knck yeah Green is not doing great right.

greeny's not handling it very well yeah. and a lot of them are Mets fans as well. and the Mets got a big one today yeah. they got a they got two big games uh. against Atlanta today where they can end. up not being in the playoffs if they. lose both I think if they win one of. them they get like the Brewers they win. both of them they get uh I forget. somebody who very good so it's basically. if if it splits today the. um Braves and Mets are both in if. somebody sweeps today then whoever swept. and then the Dbacks get into the. playoffs so you know you could just have.

a gentleman handshake and say how each. one win one of these today yeah it could. do that but Mets fans will say they. never do that for us never they never do. that for us uh Washington we talked. about them having the highest uh score. rate 68% of their drives this season. highest rate through four games by any. team in a quarter of a century these are. some hambo STS they're also the only. team in the last 50 years half century. to punt only once over any three- game. Indianapolis Colts his record against. the Pittsburgh Steelers is astounding. should have known that that was going to. happen against the Steelers I guess. yesterday last last three years they've. gone gone 30 points in like over 325 350.

yards each game so Sten sten's got. something on the Steelers so that's Sten. versus Steelers post Sten era though. yeah have only won the turnover battle. four times in 22 games wow three and 10. what Bill said too in the last 133. that's tough that turnover that's that's. that's alarming we always talk about you. know field position and turnover margin. and I you know I think Jaylen Herz is. leading the league and turnovers over. the last couple years as well I mean. he's holding on to the ball too long. obviously fumbles but then defense not. taking a away enough too that's that's.

that's big to overcome Eagles haven't. scored a single point across any of. their first two drives this season okay. so that' be eight total obviously only. team in NFL not to do so only Miami. Carolina and the Rams have spent more. time trailing this season overall jeez. Louise uh Baker had been sacked 12 times. in his previous two games eagles only. got to him twice he accounted for 20. first downs Baker which is a career high. for him and the Eagles conceded 195.

yards after catch which is the second. most by any team in any game this season. a lot of people saying there's a lack of. effort happening from this Philadelphia. Eagles defense Vic fangio is the. defensive coordinator for said defense. then you go back to Miami last year. they're saying the defense wasn't. responding to Vic fangio what the hell. is going on in Philadelphia debu it. might be fi over oh no. oh it's disappointing coming off of what. happened last week against the Saints. with Jaylen Carter just wrecked that. game but I forgot who was talking about.

in the think tank earlier lot of screens. early on that that slows down um that. that defensive front once again the. Bucks aren't going to be a team that. plays ahead of the sticks because of. their run game even though they have a. dynamic rookie back there um but uh they. they throw it all over the over over the. yard so that dline has to get after the. quarterback and that sucks when they are. it was the third quarter Tom Brady said. uh this Vic fangio defense relies a lot. on the front four getting to the. quarterback and then literally that play. the front four just soon as the ball. SNAP stand straight up and he was like.

DBS you know you've seen TJ watt. sometimes lined up over a slot receiver. so that's not all the time necessarily. on the defensive coordinator if they.

f for you did you know you would be good. in front office did you know that this. was going to be something you would. succeed at I didn't know I'd be good at. I didn't even know I'd be doing it it's. an interesting story as to how I ended. up here I asked myself that often way. back when I was a kid I did love like. the NFL draft my dad used to pull me out. of school out a half day he'd come pick. me up at lunch we'd go watch the draft. so I love that throughout my career I'd. pissed my wife off by not only watching.

round one through three but then. watching round seven and I'm filling out. sheets and I think the thing that. probably pequ my interest I was living. in Denver after I got done playing there. had become friendly with Elway we played. some golf together and he looked out for. me we had the same High School coach we. went to Stanford played football. baseball same fraternity that was like. the poster on my wall but Elway took the. the leap at the Broncos and in his first. year he said Johnny you know I'm I'm. keeping a lot of the scouts but I don't. know him I love the way you think about. football could you watch the safeties. this year and write some reports and so.

I did that for him remember it was the. year of like Mark Baron and Harrison. Smith and I took a lot of pride in I had. no idea how Scouts did things but I just. watched it like I would watch film and I. sat there at the computer and wrote some. reports and laway was blown away with. like the detail if I'm going to do. something I'm going to do it right the. next year he says that was awesome. Johnny why don't you do the DBS so I did. the entire DBS I added the corners the. next year he invites me in for their. draft process it was a lot of work it. was a lot of time I went to Indie I went. to the combine with the Broncos that. year so that started peing my interest.

long after that there was a guy who. ended up bidding for the Carolina. Panthers and he didn't get the team teer. got it but there was another gentleman. by the name of Ben Navaro and I worked. with his brother at Fox and he one time. asked if he could meet with me and out. of the blue asked me if I would run his. team if he got the Panthers and I said. really are you serious and he asked me. to kind of put together a vision. statement for how I would run a team and. so I spent a couple weeks doing that I. met with him and from that point forward. I kind of just said if the right. scenario ever came about this might be. something I want to do I was missing.

like competition I was missing. scoreboard I was missing the wins the. losses all of that out of nowhere. something was keeping me up at night one. year I didn't even know what it was and. my wife said something's on your mind I. know you when you're when you're acting. like this you can't sleep and I had done. a bunch of Falcon games that year and. Kyle Shanahan was the offensive. coordinator it's the year they went to. the Super Bowl against the Patriots and. I heard something like Kyle Shanahan's. going to get this Niners job and that's. the one he wants but somebody said he's. struggling to find a GM he wants to work. with and so something was on my mind I.

had done a bunch of Kyle's games that. year and I gave him a cold call and I. just said hey dude I want to thank you. for all the time you've given me all. year in these production meetings I. heard something that you're struggling. to find a GM and he goes I am man it's. killing me I think I am going to take. that Niners job and he goes why are you. asking I said well consider me I don't. even know if I do it but just think. about that and see what you think and. his first question he's like dude why. would you do that you got a great job. you got a great life like why would you. even consider doing that I said you go. play your games he did he called back.

and he said man I can't stop thinking. about what you said to me would you do. that and uh I want you to come meet this. dude named Jed well that dude named Jed. was our owner here Jed York came and met. Jed we flew cross country to Atlanta I. was offered the job on that flight we. meet with Kyle and that the whole. thing's wrapped up I hadn't even talked. to my wife for family yet it all moved. kind of fast and here we are 8 years. later so sorry for the long. story I'm hoping we get three or four. more of those that was phen hey thank. you for blessing us with that. information and also shout out to you.

Anthony Richardson who's battling a hip. injury in sliced and diced the. Pittsburgh Steelers to a big time dub in. the loudhouse signifying the fact that. the Colts are going to win the Super. Bowl ladies and gentlemen Joe. flacker Jo I got a little excited I.

apologize for that how you doing brother. I'm doing well man hey the accent where. is it again what is the accent it's like. a I think it's a Philly accent it's. South Jersey I'm from South Jersey but. it's a Philly accent Have you listened. back to you talking to a dee after the. game that might have been the most water. conversation I've ever heard in my. entire life Joe in my entire life I. don't know if anybody likes uh hearing. themselves on camera but I'm definitely. not listening back to that well you gave. a great speech uh about a couple.

different things we're lucky to have you. obviously you talked about the role in. which you played yesterday it's not fun. going in and playing whenever your guy. goes down like that and then you also. mentioned anony Richardson once said. that your his mom is eight days older. than you I think that was kind of come. together your relationship with anony. Richardson how is it and uh yesterday. when you get called upon are you still. worried about Anthony while you're. playing or how do you kind of lock in. and being the guy in the moment yeah for. sure it definitely took me like a. probably a quarter and a half or so to.

really settle in um and kind of like. just keep talking myself down and doing. those things but listen I think all of. us in that quarterback room have an. unbelievable relationship I mean you. spend so much time together and you go. through so many things throughout the. course of a year and you talk so much. ball that it's hard not to have that uh. whenever you start spinning it okay. we're watching and obviously we are. massive Anthony Richardson fans so this. is he is electrifying we all understand. that but when we see you go in and we. start seeing the spinning and then we. start seeing you see Josh Don for the.

first time we see him go to work in a. long time you said it took you a quarter. and a half it didn't feel like that. outside could there have been a better. situation for you to have to go in in. the middle of a game maybe not get a lot. of reps during a week than against the. Pittsburgh Steelers a defense that you. know like the back of your hand. Joe man I mean they have been pretty. similar over the years they they have an. awesome front they get after you they. give you multiple looks on the back end. and I mean they've always done such a. good job but it was definitely nice to. be out there against those familiar. black and yellow uniforms um you know.

not not necessarily any of the same guys. on the team that I played against back. in the day maybe except for uh Hayward. uh cam over there still going strong um. and then a couple guys on the sideline. um but it's always a lot of fun to go. against those guys it was awesome to be. at home obviously but the one thing that. probably could have made it a little bit. cooler is being back in Pittsburgh you. know in front of all those fans that. would have been a little bit wild that. would have been pretty wild okay so. there was a third down I think it was in. the third quarter and uh the yers had.

come alive you know put them to sleep. early there 14 nothing the yers are. sitting on their hands then there was a. third quarter and the second half and I. you were going the same direction that. our our our spot was kind of looking and. I looked around there was a lot of. terrible towels and I was thinking about. you looking around and being like this. feels like home like this kind uh feels. like home did you feel comfortable in. there in the Shane Sten relationship. that you had back at Phil does that. carry over how like with the offense uh.

for sure I mean Shane's obviously. probably the reason that I you know when. when the Colt reached out that I was you. know very willing and excited about. coming here because I felt like if I did. have to go in there and play that I'd be. put in a good situation to play good. ball um as far as seeing the terrible. towels waving around man I mean there's. so many times where I've been in that. stadium and it's been in the fourth. quarter it's been a TV timeout the whole. place goes black they turn the music on. um early in my career I think I had a. life I think I hit my quota for like.

sack fumbles where they returned it for. a touchdown and ended up changing the. game and winning um so I think at this. point we kind of got I've kind of gotten. used to all that so I definitely felt. right at home when you see all those all. those towels waving God you look great. Joe you look young out there look like a. young Joe flacko out there go ahead AJ. Joe I guess uh how surprised were you in. the offseason leading up to everything. when you I know you've said the Browns. didn't really call you your phone wasn't. ringing off the hook for offers I guess. what did you expect going into the off. season and how do you feel now I mean.

obviously you looked very very. comfortable when you got in there but I. I assume like that was a bit surprising. that you weren't I guess you didn't have. more options you look good Joe you know. I I think you. definitely I was optimistic but I. wouldn't necessarily say I was surprised. about how the offseason uh shook out. I've been around long enough now have. been through a few of these off Seasons. where you really don't know what to. expect and obviously you hope you're. hopeful for something here and there but. you really can't get too high you can't.

let yourself do that so I I like I said. I wouldn't say I was surprised um and. then once you once you kind of get over. that then you just try to look for for. reasons to be uh grateful and count. yourself fortunate for the situation. that you are in and then you just kind. of get in your routine that's why it's. so important to have a routine because. now you kind of just distract yourself. by going through your process and taking. care of business like you know like you. always do and that kind of distracts you. from some of those other thoughts that. might put you in a negative head space.

you've been around to a couple different. teams now you talk about your routine. what is the routine like for the Colts. building that is either the similar to. places you've been before or different. than place you've been before a couple. big time wins here I'm already saying. we're winning the Super Bowl so uh. you're welcome for the added pressure uh. one of the biggest shows uh for some. reason we don't understand why but is. going to be pushing for a Super Bowl. this year uh from you guys but what is. the Colts building like in comparison to. other places and how do you feel about. the vibe culture that chane has listen I. think the biggest thing so far that. we've kind of gone through this early in.

the season still only four games in but. to start off 0 and2 and now to get two. wins under our belt like we've. definitely I think shown that we can be. a resilient team um and I I think that's. that that means a lot in this league. you're G to go through a lot of tough. games and play games that are T tough. all the time come down to the last. couple minutes and you have to be able. to win those and push through and. confidence in that so the fact that. we've been able to back bounce back the. last two weeks I think that's a huge. sign of what kind of team we have we're. callous baby we're yeah we're call team.

already early everybody's trying to get. to that point we're already there uh. dbut has a question for you Joe yeah Joe. uh you played and started for a long. time for the same team but now late. later in your career you've had to go. new places we've see the same thing with. some younger quarterbacks you know Andy. Dalton Baker Mayfield Sam Darnell what. is the biggest challenge as a. quarterback going to a new place a new. locker room a new system um getting. acclimated to. that I think it's a lot of stuff that. you probably freak yourself out about so. the fact that I've been done it a few.

times now I've probably settled down a. little bit but obviously the first time. you do it you're you're a little bit. hesitant and you're not sure how you're. going to fit in with the team and you. feel like you're starting from square. one you know all over but what you find. is that when you go to these locker. rooms there's so many good dudes in. every locker room and there's little. differences but there's so many. similarities and you just got to be. yourself and I think that's the best way. to become part of a team um and that's. that's been my thing I I think the fact.

that I have been through it the last few. years has definitely you know taken the. burden off of my uh you know the mental. burden off of me a little bit I I kind. of just walk in and um and able to be. myself I think it is a little bit easier. to be yourself when you're 39 years old. and you can tell that the young guys are. kind of looking at you a little bit. different just CU they're wondering what. the hell you're still doing at here so. it kind of just naturally creates that. conversation and allows you to open up. in a way that maybe others can't. necessarily do well there's a respect. you know you had Big Ben and and you had.

big Big Ben over there yesterday he's. looking at me before the game like what. the hell are you still doing out here. yeah I I I I'm pretty sure when I got in. there he had to be thinking at some. point oh oh damn I think I need to go. over there and strap. up the sideline I can be a part of this. too you know yeah funny you mention that. Joe because like literally when he uh. when they have the ball to drive down. and win it at the end Ben on the record. yep to tone Diggs in the guy like this. is the first time I've missed it I I.

think he didn't know how it was going to. be going into a stadium especially on. the field I think he didn't fully know. what to come but then whenever the ball. is like here we go this is to win it in. somebody else's house right now he was. like this the first time I miss it and. on that note tone has a question for you. yeah you got to your first 10 years of. of your career when you're going against. the Steelers it was Big Ben you got to. talk to him before the game and then did. it feel was it a little extra special do. it in Seven's face there uh knowing that. he was in the building by the way he. spoke he spoke very highly he did speak.

very highly of you but he did say a. couple times that Joe's old what's he. doing after there yeah and did you talk. after game there there's another I did I. saw him in the tunnel after of the game. it was good to see him uh you know. listen we just know each other from. playing obviously like I haven't really. spent time with him off the field but. you know the one thing I'll say is he. looked great you know I kind of figured. maybe at some point at this point maybe. he. you know really really big but man he. he's Tak care of himself he looks really. good uh I you know listen it's always. cool to to see guys that you've either.

played with or played against I mean. you've shared that field with them and. like so many special games against that. team um obviously when I was in. Baltimore but yeah there's definitely. just like a connection there that you. really can't explain strictly because. we've played each other so many times. yeah he said the same thing and uh when. you went in you know he's a fan of. Anthony Richardson obviously he follows. the game very well when you went in. there was a moment where Ben was like I. don't know if this is I don't think he. really like there there was there was. like a moment of like I don't know I.

don't know how still I don't know if. it's good I don't know I don't know how. it it was I want to let you know Colts. fans I think maybe haven't followed the. Joe flacko Journey as closely as like. all of us had and maybe they don't pay. attention to outside the Colts or the. AFC South much but it was like I don't. think a lot of Colts knew maybe uh fans. whenever you want in they're like okay. we got was second oldest guy in the. league right now okay going in there. how's this going to go did you feel that. place get behind you though Joe they. were they were behind you yesterday. brother yeah it's cool it's that you.

know that that is part of what makes it. fun I mean obviously you know the fans. are are what really does make this game. and and you know sometimes they're not. happy but man when when you do feel the. love and and and you can be excited. about going out there it does make a. difference did you think to yourself wow. this is the L house yesterday think did. you think take that to yourself it oh it. dude it gets going in there and and the. last couple weeks has been a little bit. confusing at times but I'll give it to. our fans like because we've had Chicago. and Pittsburgh Pittsburgh fans are.

everywhere Chicago is coming from a. couple hours North but I'll give it to. our fans man they made sure that hell. yeah um though that even though we had. some opposing fans in there they made. sure that they rose up and and let them. know whose house it was yeah you're damn. right and I don't appreciate the. coverage I got a chance to watch the. game back late the fourth quarter you. know uh whenever you're in the suite you. don't get to see the team copy fourth. quarter they were finding every Steeler. fan they could find they found Nick's. wife a couple times they found Nick. Carly's in there obviously uh twirlin NW. they were zoomed in on groups of.

Steelers fans in there they're like. Steelers fans are coming to lot I didn't. like that either it wasn't hard to do. yeah there were where were you guys the. first three quarters well would you go. down 14 nothing pretty quick it's hard. it's hard yeah hard that was awesome. start that was an awesome start for the. Colts uh I have a question we have a. question actually about I think. something we saw on the internet GOC man. yeah Joe what's going on on with these. new cleats is this something that uh is. kind of the future of Footwear when it. comes to the NFL and also how do you. feel about the coconut husk obviously a. lot of conversation about that turf at.

Lucas Oil slippery track uhhuh. footsteps oh man uh listen the cleats I. I think it's an awesome idea I think. there needs like with with all the with. all the turf that we're playing on and. just a variety of different fields that. we have to play on um I I think it's. going to be tough to convince everybody. to go to one field I mean especially in. the near future and then I mean listen. we're just NFL athletes so I think as. far as these cleats Go I mean there's a. whole Market I mean how many kids play. sports I mean I look at girls I I think.

I heard it in the stadium the girls flag. football is like the fastest growing. sport in the country I mean all these. and and girls are a little bit I think. they're more at risk naturally just. because of their or their hips and knees. um of tearing their ACL and and lower. body injuries so I think this is an. awesome idea um to kind of help you know. create a little bit more player safety. and something that they can feel. confident about as far as I'm concerned. I mean it's it's a Baltimore company uh. Dennis p and Todd Heap are involved the.

cleats are comfortable so for me it's no. skin off my back it's not like I'm. getting paid by anybody anymore so um. it's been it's been it's been a cool. little thing kind of just trying. something new out and and and seeing how. it goes that's [ __ ] let's get you. some marketing deals. back let's get Joe flacko marketing. deals back uh can you explain a little. bit more about the CLE though because I. don't think we fully understand what it. is yeah what's different about them. what's different well it's just the it's. the bottom it's it's it's it's not. necessarily the cleat it's the it's the. technology that's in the bottom so um in.

terms of how it how it scores in terms. of like release when you're planning. your foot the cleats do shift a little. bit they spin a little bit I think the. bigger thing is the fact that they shift. a little bit so when you put your cleat. in the turf especially for these skilled. positions these DBS the receivers all. these guys that have to make quick stops. and starts um it's taking some of the. force out of that and you can't feel it. when you're wearing it so it's not. really taken away from your performance. it's just giving you that little piece. of mind that maybe some of these non-c.

contct lower body injuries um you know. can be dimin can be kind of diminished a. little bit Joe an athlete like me I cut. on a dime you know so I I I don't have. time for my cleats to be wiggling you at. all spinning it's go ahead yeah you. don't you don't feel that at all you. don't feel. it Joe do you see your cat in that. photos we were. posting see did you see the photos. please don't bring that please don't you. look absolutely J.

chance to feel it you know down there in. t toown it was palpable man it felt like. it was a playoff game and for kayin dor. obviously in his regime this is the. biggest game they've ever had down there. this is a hey welcome to the SEC welcome. to everything moment and they show up. early in a massive way take a huge lead. and then just like what was being had. about with Bill bich earlier about being. in the lead at halftime conversations. there's going to be adjustments made you. had to assume Kirby Smart was going to. do something at some point that's a good. ball coach very good ball coach they.

turn this into an instant classic game. comes down to the final drive by uh uh. Ryan Williams you talking about. 17-year-old answering in a one shot. touchdown after this game comes all the. way back to. 3433 it's like instant classic iconic. game lived up to the billing hey let me. get out of there and then finishes it. when four thinks he has the angle on. that tire thing and George's defense. phenomenal five stars everywhere guys.

running four tws 4 threes everywhere. Jaylen milro for the mental toughness. that team had to have once you give up. the lead once you give up that big of a. lead to bounce back it's like great. coaching great performance both teams. are awesome and once again college. football seemingly every time it gets. hyped up lives up to the moment and this. year year it's definitely doing yeah it. has so far this year and milro was. unbelievable I think he had what 200. passing yards 100 rushing yards in the. first half so and then obviously that. throw on Ryan Williams being a Target.

that he hasn't had in a year or so um. and then Georgia had a chance again at. the end like they were they were in. scoring territory at the end and there. was a huge inter huge interception to. end it it was an instant instant classic. yeah yeah and and these kids from Bama. there was a lot of five star freshman. out there and they're only going to get. better as the season goes on but that. was that was awesome that's new number. one in the country right there Alabama. after beating Georgia and Carson Beck. and boy the state of college football is. in a great spot I mean a great spot. right now that the the games are mustat.

so good the games are we get we get. desensitized I think now with these. phenomenal play Jeremiah Smith made. probably two or three unbelievable. catches again this weekend but like that. Ryan Williams catch like I know it's a. fan but like I think if you act if. you've played football at like a high. level like I don't think I've ever seen. somebody like move their body like that. to catch that to stop right there that. that and then this right like and it. just accelerate like like that was some. freaky [ __ ] to watch live and it and it.

came literally right after huge play. from Georgia on like a Di and go double. move like these receivers right now. college football pro football I feel. like we see a incredible unbelievable. play every week but that [ __ ] right. there was different freshman Jeremiah. playing there Miami as well but then. with the Ravens just focusing on pass. rush that's all I've done here I haven't. done I've only done that once other in. my career that's been in New England in. 2019 when I just focused on Russian and. then since I've been Baltimore I've been. strictly Russian and it's been awesome. it's been amazing it's what I did in. college it's what I did in high school. um so it's awesome to be able to do that. focus on that fulltime now it's really. it's been amazing so I've always known I.

could do it it's just awesome to do it. with a bunch of young guys that I'm. competing with and just having fun out. there with okay so coach bellich. actually earlier said your football. Instinct and football IQ is so high you. he compared you and ninkovic obviously. are they an outside linebacker are they. defensive end are they a rush and he. compliment for like a good two minutes. it it was a massive thing and obviously. uh with what you're doing on the field. he's probably excited for you and pump. for you but with you and you saying just.

now focusing on rushing the passer it's. like are we getting new moves now is. this old dog new tricks are we are we. working on some [ __ ] are we uh are we. going to see anything or or how do we. feel are we adding to the bag right now. of pass rushing that is funny yeah I am. adding to the bag I I'm always always. looking to at. 33 I am always looking to get better and. honestly that play that you guys show I. almost felt disrespected that they were.

trying you know they were trying my IQ. out there a little bit you see Josh. Allen to the right like I'm just you. know standing there in the middle of. nowhere acting like we don't see them. but it was just a play where you know. Bill appreciate him he's he help he when. you go to New England with Bill it was. like going to football school as DB has. said previously on your guys' show it's. like football 101 school and just being. able to learn all the things that I've.

like you feel physically great and. obviously when when your your physical. body can match up with your your mental. as well at the same time that doesn't. usually happen usually guys you know. their mental goes up and their physical. goes way down because you're getting. older you seem to have timed it up. perfect right now like how do you feel. overall great question honestly I've I. get made fun of for this I got made fun. of when I first got in the league till. where I am now I work with a guy named. David [ __ ] out of Los Angeles have from.

when I got in TR in trouble when I got. hurt um after my rookie season he helped. put put me back together I I was about. to go on IR in year or two again for a. back injury that I had had the same. thing that Rob gr cowy had had the. herniated disc blah blah blah he fixed. me in six days been amazing haven't. worked with anybody but him and going to. continue to work with him till I'm done.

playing he's been amazing I work with. him on FaceTime he flies out when I I. need him and he's been a instrumental. piece in my uh strength and condition in. my entire career strength coaches have. been awesome for the most part. especially the Ravens they've been the. best most places as you know don't like. that but the Ravens have worked with me. I work with them it's been awesome and I. can continue to do the same routine that. I always do uh and just continue to feel.

good I think that's been the biggest. thing for me is always to continue to do. what I'm doing I don't want to really. change anything and I'm feeling good I'm. feeling spry and it's been awesome as. you guys know you get Nicks and knacks. during your career I had a bad foot. injury in Miami and had a bunch of bone. stuff and you know been great F this. year just to continue to keep going on. that note Connor has a question for you. yeah kle what about the orbit orable. bone uh obviously you got hurt very. early and I saw some people on the.

internet saying that you're kind of. Faking It Maybe and that you didn't. actually get hurt and that that was just. that was just for the. story yeah honestly I got it's. underneath my right eye I have two. fractures um it'll be four weeks on. Thursday so uh middle fingers to whoever. said they was but I got to give you. props Conor you got me off the couch. last year you know I got to give you a. big props you're a big reason why I got.

with the Ravens you know that tape that. highlight tape we put out with a. Difference Maker Kyle anything for a. two-time Super Bowl champion in New. England you know if you ever need me to. come out there and help you work on some. of those new moves I can show you some. stuff and maybe we can put something. together for you I can't wa well I mean. people were wondering if C van always. still had it and then they see. the massive presence of Connor. Campbell the sidey yard holy [ __ ] he's. going up against basically a young joal.

I think Harbaugh actually ran it up to. Patrick Ricard and then take on Derrick. Henry yeah it sucked during training.

camp I I was like this shit's. dead um but it's awesome to see it work. on other players and other teams right. you you see it firsthand and experience. it in practice and it's not always fun. but it you know you're going against. each other trying to get better and to. see you know they're they're jelling on. offense right now and still figuring. things out and we're winning as we're. getting better uh that's what we want to. continue to do so big so much meat so.

much meat so much yeah I I mean the. thing is that I can't get over is Derrik. Henry is like 6'3 240 and he ran almost. 22 miles an hour like that's insane. second fastest guy second fastest guy in. the league uh this weekend uh Xavier. worthy obviously on his go I think he. passed him but yeah to your point Derrik. Henry's pulling away from dudes and he's. the second fastest guy in the NFL at. this stage of his career he's too and.

they said he was washed too right yes is. that what they didn't didn't you too. you're wash too they. said day yeah I don't know I don't know. it's it's crazy but honestly I I really. appreciate the Ravens for giving me a. chance coach arbaugh and zo and Chuck. Smith and Matt Robinson my two coaches. in the outside linebacker room have. really just empowered me to be me and. you know it's really been fun to really.

get better with the young guys adaa. ajabo those two young boys have uh. they're going to be good in this league. and it's been fun to just continue to. work with those two young guys and then. Travis Jones I cannot forget him and. justtin matab I mean woo them boys are. cooking right now dogs and those are. some names too right great names that's. a whole name I mean that entire team. there and then K vanoi okay obviously.

Seattle and now you got zo firsttime. play caller former player uh what kind. of energy what kind of difference has he. brought to that uh room cuz you guys are. still playing great defense on the Run. obviously getting after the passer so. what has it been about Zack or being. that defense. coordinator yeah Zack or is younger than. me which is funny oh you're so old dude. don't do that don't do that get that old.

word out of here okay we say experienced. I'm experi yeah mature uh yeah zo is. awesome uh very different very different. than Mike Mack um but they have similar. Styles I would say zo's a like. aggressive he's all pro linebacker like. buddy buddy knows how to play ball buddy. knows ball and just his way to Galvanize. uh young young men and to buying into it.

continue the to the standard of the. Ravens defense but to continue to have. his own twist and his own Mark um on how. he does business I I enjoy working with. him and I want nothing more to see him. have success at such a young age that he. has his in his coaching career at a. level of being at a DC already it just. shows the type of person he is and shows. the type of commitment he has to. coaching and it's awesome to be able to.

represent him on a football field and. try to get him all that he can in in. this coaching world because he really. deserves it he's a he's a really good. person I'm happy to hear that uh and. obviously the Harbaugh family seemingly. just hires in a very very good fashion. and just you know ready to reload. whenever you lose somebody who's. phenomenal at their job which is part of. the NFL run of this entire thing you. just talked about all the players you. have on a dline alongside you Kyle. Hamilton was interviewed before the game. and was like hey what what yeah exactly. which I think we're going to set up to.

hear from you here in a second but like. whenever he was asked like who other. what other player tonight has to play. big on the defense and he literally said. uh anybody in Black oh that's a fire ass. answer bro that was sck yeah you so you. saw it it wasn't who's going to step up. I think it was like uh who's greater. should we talked about more he said. anybody in Black basically and it was. just like such a cold line to deliver. right before the game and then it was. obvious said he meant that the entire. thing he's young in the grand scheme of.

the NFL feels like we've seen him for a. while now though he's different huh Kyle. Hamilton's a real player yeah that's a. avatar right there he's one of one um. he's very special and he said he sets. the tone and just continue I'm always in. his ear the guy Kyle's got to stick to. together but he he's going to be that. next uh leader of this defense for a. long long time and I I respect how. mature he is already I mean his mom and.

dad did a really good job of developing. such a good man he's like got a great. heart on him but most importantly I. don't even think he knows how good he is. yet so we got to keep him that way for a. while right but he's fun to be around. he's the type of dude who sets the tone. like that it's like you you walk into. somewhere you see somebody with the. black Air Force you know they mean. business that's the type of time we were. on last night it was a movie in the bank. that that stadium was electric there's. not many venues like it and boy it was.

Baltimore fans deserve a lot of credit I.

think yeah they deserve their credit for. sure and and too it goes both ways too. like Philly when you lose in Philly you. know it hurts that City it's the same. thing with Baltimore you better give. that effort and energy when you win and. you lose because they going to let you. know about it blue CER town they can. talk [ __ ] normally going to be a good. home environment that and they can back. it up too yeah not scared them yeah and. all great again okay yeah so that's. actually what I want to kind of ask. about because almost led the show Almost. the first thing I said today was like uh. feels like everybody's talking about. this raven team being who we thought. they were going to be going in to the. season we're four weeks in you guys are. two and two but you got conversation. happening on TV now like are the Ravens. the best team in football it's like that. is legitimately what happens whenever. you guys start dominating in show this. is what everybody thought this team was. going to be like going into the season. do you guys hear that how do you handle.

that and obviously the last two weeks. much better than the first two. weeks yeah you it's hard not to hear. stuff anymore like coaches can't say oh. don't don't look at this or you know. don't read the Press clippings right you. it's everywhere it's all in your face I. think now it's more of just navigating. those press clippings or watching right. you got to really know reality reality. is we're two and two that's the reality. we're getting better we're not nowhere. where we want to be like Kyle Hamilton.

I'm going to go off his leadership last. night he said hey we won the game we. didn't win a Super Bowl we got to keep. getting better and that's facts like we. got to keep getting better we're two and. two we have another tough road road game. against ciny ciny has been coming alive. off offensively defensively they're. stingy and make plays so they're tough. it's it's going to be a division game a. rivalry game so it's going to be an. awesome atmosphere in ciny and it's.

going to be tough and we're not going in. there you know with with no confidence. right we have confidence but at the same. time we're going to respect that. opponent because we know what type of. time they're on they're a good team hell. yeah I appreciate to hear that that's. nice humble mindset from the Ravens who. look dominant go ahead AJ K what's it. like watching the Jackson on game day. when the defense you take a break you. know go over a few adjustments I would. assume you sit there you stand up and. you watch you're checking the. J yeah like how awesome is that seeing. that guy you know day in like obviously.

you see him every single day in the. facility but watching him on game day. and how just he you never know what he's. GNA do like he always is gonna do. something that surprises you I feel like. like oh I didn't know that was possible. yeah honestly I've had so many teammates. like I've said in the past I am from. Florida that's one of my Broward County. boys h. stand it's honestly been awesome. watching LJ but what I'm most proud of. is his Poise and maturity each and every.

season since I've been here it's awesome. to see uh LJ's stepping up as a leader. as the person that this organization. definitely wants and sees he is that. he's been that from the time he's gone. here and he's getting better each and. every year and it's it's awesome to be. his teammate the love and respect that. he has in the entire locker room how. it's contagious his uh just his.

personality is contagious you want to be. around him you want to be on the. football field you feel Al Ultra. confident stepping on a football field. with him as your quarterback and. honestly it's it's a movie watching. right now it's must see TV when you put. LJ on on a football field like you. literally sit down and you're watching. the game live like this dude is you're. never going to see anything like it and. my lifetime I don't think I I don't. think he gets enough credit with how.

good of a pocket passer he is he's. Dynamic when he has the ball in his. hands he is like what I grew up on. Reggie Bush when he got the ball it's. like [ __ ] what is he about to do yeah. who is he about to Juke what is he about. to do and that is musty TV to everything. you just said yes and when you talk. about throwing in the pocket there was a. third down early I think it was like. third and 11 or third and eight or. something Nelson aular yes double. coverage and I mean he the timing the. accuracy it was just a dart it was an.

absolute Dart first down now we're up. and running and now the defense you know. okay we got Patrick card we got Derrik. Henry we got Lamar Jackson oh yeah he. can do that too right over our heads. it's like how do you stop him and that. is. why Sports media is like the Ravens is. the Ravens that. Tom kind of put that tag on him too he. was like Hey That's Lamar's probably. going to be the next one after seeing. him play and obviously talking to him. pregame I remember Tom speaking so. glowingly even when he was still playing. I know you played with both Tom and now.

playing with Lamar I know they're very. different players probably very. different people but any similarities I. guess leadership style something stands. out obviously Mar uh Marlin after the. game when you guys won a close one on. the plane like look bro I'm not even. happy right now we got the win but I. don't feel like being on on on live. right now what is he like behind the. scenes and are there any similarities to. him and Tom you just hit it right there. the similarity of the competitiveness to. win I would say that's very very similar. and then the similarities of both of. them are wearing grills when they.

play yeah very similar very very Iced. Out Iced. Out uh no LJ he's competitive just like. Tom I don't really like comparing people. but they are I I'll just say that they. are both very very competitive in that. regards um but LJ is is totally. different he does he has a different way. of doing stuff it's not always machine. like like Tom was um and you just go.

with it and whatever he does we're we're. all four like we we enjoy him that's our. quarterback we got his back and you know. what I've been impressed about is him. getting everybody else's back like I saw. I don't want to make it I don't even. want to make it a big deal but. just having teammates backs like Mark. Andrews you know him saying what he said. and it's just awesome to see a. quarterback like that that has. everybody's back the same thing he did.

with the offensive line that was getting. a bunch of flack early to get their back. like that's who you want as your. quarterback I I respect that a lot I do. too he's so fun to watch man oh yeah. yeah and he has had to do it his own way. the entire time remember they were. trying to get him to play another. position when he was coming out approval. you gave that man a chip on his shoulder. yeah there's a lot of dudes with a chip. on his shoulder but that's a big one and. that you know you you don't want to give. people like that a chip on their.

all of college football there he dropped. into like zone right two different. people then he picks off I mean dbo you. could talk to him more but he's making. massive plays with high football IQ. moments and then he's hitting Heisman. pose he understands what it take here he. is special this man never never seen. anything like for him to be able to play. full time both ways and be the best. player on the field every every week. like he he's so obviously we know the. athleticism but he's so smart he's. always doubting always understands the. situation the spacing have the V.

obviously this is him my offense but. that interception again to have that. vision and kind of almost bait the. quarterback into throwing that making. him look like he's open uh and then to. have the like the lung capacity to. actually play like full time like he's. running and he's giving full effort too. he's not bullshitting he's not coasting. he's not brother-in-law on a bunch of. these plays you saw the it was a one. long touchdown that he was hustling his. ass off trying to run down the guy and. this whole Colorado team like this. defense I know UCF had a great run game. coming in stifled the Run game. offensively they put up points coming in.
