this massive overreaction Monday October. 14th 2024 this program starts. now football is awesome it provided a. fantastic weekend Saturday showed up in. a massive way we'll certainly have to. talk about the college ball games that. are exhilarating and new rivalries are. blossoming and everything that's. happening in the college football world. is certainly delightful as all eyes are. on Austin Texas this week and Georgia it.

battles Texas in Austin game day is. going to be there f1's going to be there. I think there's a bunch of other [ __ ]. that's going to be there I think there's. a maybe a concert of some sort happening. the night before so Austin Texas. certainly some bachelorette parties. there's going to be some live music. there's uh some comedy I assume taking. place Austin is about to be the Pinnacle. this weekend of college ball cannot wait. to get down there but Sunday yesterday. the NFL site boy there's a lot to talk. about there were some blowouts obviously. happening more so than most weekend. there was more points though than the. NFL had seen all season long there's.

some teams that we're wondering are are. are they dead uhoh and then there's some. teams we going wait a minute this team. might win it all there's drama there's. games and there's a big one tonight as. the Buffalo Bills take on the New York. Jets led by coach brick for the first. time this season how will Aaron coach. dinning the new offensive coordinator. coach brick in the defense be able to. handle all the adversity and drama as. they host the Buffalo Bills who are. favored by two on Monday night football.

cannot wait for this evening we'll. obviously talk about this and we'll. chitchat about everything but there is. something happening in Philadelphia that. we need to address the talking table is. here at Boston Conor and sitting in for. Tai Schmid out on assignment Bruce Brown. is here one half of the hammer Cowboys. AP tone is here and a man have played in. the NFL for nine years one of the. biggest brains in the history of. football ladies and gentlemen Dar. J debut this situation brewing in. Philadelphia is very entertaining from. outside looking in but it feels like.

there's some real hate over there. doesn't it feel like that it does from. the crowds from the fans from you know. outside the building inside the building. on the field off the field you know one. of my teams that I'm a fan of a little. concerned yeah certainly with the way. last season ended and how this season. started there was a you know cause for. concern from the Philadelphia Eagles. faithful and you early in the year they. beat the New Orleans Saints and on an. overreaction Monday just like this one. all the Eagles fans were saying get this. guy the hell out that was after a win. yep don't worry another win happens for. the Philadelphia Eagles they beat the.

Cleveland Browns yeah who have the. biggest guaranteed contract to a. quarterback in the history of the NFL. boy that is certainly uh uh something. that is a part of a conversation piece. as well but you know what everybody's. saying after that Philadelphia Eagles. win over there in Philly what's that you. know what it is what boy they hate that. head coach before the game even started. there was a photo of this dude coach. serani is now a bald man yes coming out. of the by week coach serion said we need. to change some things maybe a little. Mojo different he shaves his head and. Philadelphia Eagles fans go oh this dip.

[ __ ] now he's a ball instead of this. entire thing so much so going into. halftime it was actually reported from. somebody that was there that the the. Eagles fans were chanting fire Nick at. halftime as he was walking off the field. so coach serani here okay years into his. tenure as a Philadelphia Eagles head. coach has had massive success as a. Philadelphia Eagles head coach you know. he started with we're going to play. seeds and the seeds going to grow. through more less thinky and more more. athlete take over y all this stuff he.

did then he wins then he wins the city. over plus he's a good Pyon so you know. things are going to go now at halftime. of a game in which they would go on to. win the fans are chanting fire Nick so. what do Nick serani do well soon as that. games over and he's got in the bag he. decides to reply hey fans what was that. what what H what' you say [ __ ] I you. were talking I can't hear you talking to. me this is at home he's to CR now if you. listen to sports media that was chatting. about this today boy everybody hates. move yeah Mike Greenberg was pissed.

there's only 32 of these jobs in the. world you know how many people would die. to have your job then after you win a. game after a crowd that has been. rightfully so judgmental of you and how. your teams have performed you're going. to go talk [ __ ] to the people paying 400. 500 bucks for a ticket to come watch. your team don't you do that I on the. other hand find it absolutely hysterical. that he would talk [ __ ] to Philadelphia. Eagles fans after a game has won after. they champ firing and then baby face. heavy to the press conference afterwards. you know cuz these uh local that he was.

in the press conference after the game. they're representing those fans that. were saying fire Nick and then serani. was chatting back to at the end so coach. serani takes his three kids up to the. press conference yeah he says uh he says. this is how I want to raise my family. how we're doing it and how do you feel. right now coach serani no just excited. uh just excited to get the. win just excited to get the win yeah. yeah yeah just excited it's hard to win. in this league so we're excited to get. the win uh and that's the most upbeat of. that entire press Gars he would.

inevitably start Really Cooking cuz. that's what coach Shion does he can't. just keep his mouth shut because that's. who he is that's how he goes and then he. starts responding and bickering and. joining us now ladies and gentlemen we. are incredibly lucky for this situation. uh live from Philadelphia in the middle. of all this coach. serion coach it is uh great to see you. the uh the Baldhead is going to take. some time to get used to coach I must. say yeah well Pat you know to be honest. with you I I shaved the head initially. cuz everyone was calling for my job I.

figure hey shave your head everyone's. going to forget how you've been coaching. they're going to say wow this guy looks. like a badass he looks really cool with. the bald head I did forget yesterday uh. didn't look at the weather very Sunny in. Philadelphia didn't bring my banana boat. yeah and uh my head is absolutely. barbecue today hurts like hell um that's. really the the most pressing of my. concerns right now it's not all these. you know dip [ __ ] fair weather fans. saying that I should be fired it's not. all these morons this Sports media who. couldn't hold my jock who couldn't have. my Job saying that I'm a clown it's more.

so that um I'm really worried how this. is going to look next week when it. starts to peel and it's hurting today. okay okay so there you just said a lot. there and we'll certainly have to dive. in and the boys will have some questions. for you as well coach looks like the. hair's growing back though is that is. that the case or we going to keep it. going or no yeah it is a little bit you. can see the roots are kind of starting. to come in if you I don't know if you. can tell the back not so. much and I actually got some sort of. little skin ponytail that started to. grow I don't know how that hav never.

seen that before maybe poisoning it. could be some poisoning it could be from. the stress of you know going to a Super. Bowl a couple years ago and then couple. years removed everyone says you're the. worst coach of all time I I don't. understand that okay so you have had. success coach and you know anytime we. shave our heads we don't know what our. head's going to look like that's why. it's such a roll of the dice I had no. idea a skin ponytail was even possible. Nei kind of looks like you have a do-rag. ball of I assure you this is my actual. bald head this is not a do-rag of any. kind okay all right uh coach let's move.

on past your appearance because. obviously that is going to be something. we're going to have to get used to you. just mentioned it there you have had. great success there in Philadelphia when. do you think you lost the fans of Philly. and why did you decide to chirp back at. them at the end there well you know I. think it might have been uh when we went. right into the pooper down the stretch. last year you know we started very very. good obviously and then we played like. [ __ ] for about the last three months of. the Season got embarrassed several times. but you know what's funny Pat is the and. the thing I don't really understand is. when we're winning games you know and.

I'm talking [ __ ] to the fans in Kansas. City and saying you know suck my sack. and stuff like that to the everybody. loves it right everybody loves it and. then we win yesterday and I see a couple. fat drunk slobs uh who I love they're. John's if you will um and they're. they're they're coming after my. livelihood and my job and I can't say. hey uh tongue my bung hole I can't yell. that to I listen everyone else has fun. when you win football game I kind of. said there yesterday hard to win.

football games okay hard to win football. games in this league so when we win. football games am I not entitled to have. a little fun too I mean I work just as. hard as everybody else probably harder. than a lot of people are working in. order to win these football games so I. don't I don't really know when the tide. turned um but what I do know is you know. I mean look at look at our division you. know you got two teams who listen they. they'd be killing to be a Philadelphia. Eagle right now or in our position we. got long season left we're very we're. Uber talented team very immensely.

talented and that's the way it goes in. Philly you know one day you're uh you. know you're Joe Schmo and and the next. day you know you're you're the king of. the hills so that's I mean I don't know. what to tell you okay you're talking out. house Penthouse situation in. Philadelphia quickly especially with. that new haircut you probably thought oh. yeah they're going to love this they're. going to absolutely love this even. though how it looks uh coach a man who. has an AP vote maybe coach of the year. which I you know I don't know if you. have on your eyes do you have your eyes. set on Coach of the Year always got my. eyes set on Coach of the Year you know. people can act like they don't care I I. I happen to like Hardware in my trophy.

room so you know yeah I let's just say I. do have my eye on on Coach of the Year P. okay AP tone has a question for you. coach yeah coach here's a stat I want to. make sure I get this right here you guys. have scored zero points in the first. quarter through five games that's the. first time since 1934 that that's. happened um I believe Lane Johnson said. your offense is constipated do you have. any cures for your constipated offense. yeah I don't know maybe ask Kell Moore. you know I'm not the one calling plays. Everybody Talks about how good this guy.

is this guy should be a head coach you. know everyone said I was a genius when I. hired him hey get rid of the last guy. he's not doing very good you need find. someone like Shane styken so we hire. Kell Moore and the offense still sucks. so I don't know is that my fault is that. Kell Moore's fault uh maybe you know. maybe people need to just take a. breather okay listen Jaylen is a dog. he's a junkyard dog he's going to figure. out saquon's still kind of getting. acclimated to the offense AJ Brown's. been hurt no one wants to talk about. that he's a you know top three wide. receiver in the.

yeah exactly he back yesterday he had a. pretty good game didn't he didn't he so. I don't know you know maybe you know you. let us get healthy you let our guys kind. of coales into one piece like they. haven't been able to do and maybe we'll. start scoring some points again you know. the people on these morning shows. they're saying it's you not motivating. too before the game the speeches don't. work anymore what they're saying coach. well you know what uh that's that to me. you you know you hear something like. that and it's like okay well this guy's. this guy's a [ __ ] this guy's an [ __ ]. this guy doesn't know [ __ ] from apple. butter that's what I'm saying when I.

hear a lot of people talking this. morning cuz you haven't been in the. meeting rooms with me okay you know what. I did before the Saturday night what's. that I recited the entire script from. Rocky. 3 the entire script entire script how. long did that take you know they say the. rule of thumb is it's usually about a. minute a page um I believe Rocky 3 is. about 103 minutes long so yeah it it. took it was about an hour and 45 minute. meeting but but guess what got the point. across yes you just why didn't you show.

the movie why' you why'd you read it to. him well you know sometimes guys get a. little sleepy or they say like hey slice. the loone wasn't as good in Rocky 3 as. he was in Rocky four rocky one I didn't. want any of that mumbo jumbo I wanted to. really emphasize and this is my message. okay this isn't just s Stallone's. message this isn't Mr T's message you. know what I mean so I I just I I and I. don't know would you do that if you. didn't have the pulse of the locker room. if you didn't know how to properly. motivate your team I don't think you. would but I did it was 127 pages is that.

right am I hearing yep give or take a. couple you know there are a couple. deleted scenes in there but again I like. the guys to kind of know what's on the. page and not necessarily on the screen. as well very similar to a football game. you know process exactly exactly so you. know what it's it's nice that someone's. doing a little journalism and someone. understands what's going on you know not. just one of these Talking Heads who. wants to call me a clown because I was. yelling at fans and telling them to you. know go [ __ ] themselves okay big deal it. wasn't what you said earlier you said. you said some other things about. potential waffling from my understanding.

coach we understand you're very busy. whether it's reading the entire Rocky 3. 127 page script or you know getting. ready for your next opponent but there's. somebody in that building that I think. is a vital piece but where's he been. Connor has a question for you yeah coach. always a pleasure uh you know one of the. guys that's always on your sideline big. Dom and actually he's usually attached. to the hip with you uh was he not. involved in the kind of process after. the game of you know telling fans to go. to hell and did did you run anything by.

him before maybe going over like hey. should I say this should I say that or. was this just off the cuff you know you. letting out some feelings uh that that. was just off the cuff listen big Dom is. War Ready he knows you know if I'm going. to go kind of get into a A curfuffle or. a scuffle with people you know if we. went and hit the bars in Philly after. the game Big Dom will be right there. with me smashing beer glasses over guy's. heads and stuff like that so he. understands it I I don't want to say. we're on the you know on the outs right. now but uh. he we kind of got into a heated argument.

he basically intimated that he believes. gos or Pats is actually the superior. Chief take the Dallas Andros I took a. little bit um I took some issue with. that so you know things have been a. little rocky but no listen if I'm going. to get into a fist fight with one of. these fans which is certainly possible I. mean they throw [ __ ] at me after the. games even when we win guess who's going. to be the first guy to throw I'm going. to throw a right hand gu who's going to. be the first guy to throw a left hand. and break some some John's jaw it's.

going to be Big D it's as simple as that. he loves me I love him um I go. everywhere with him and he is always in. my shadow so you know next time you want. to you know bump off at the gums or you. know maybe try to throw some horse poop. at me or something like that maybe just. remember that maybe who's who's waiting. in the wings for you yeah and I don't. know if big Dom's in anybody's Shadow. ever it's big Dom show whenever he's. around which some people might think you. might have a didn't love you know hey. hey Dom I get it you know camera's over. there it looks nice okay we don't I. don't need to every TV copy I get back.

you know I got big Dom's head popping. around like a goddamn where's Waldo you. talking about this one from I think the. other that's exactly what I'm talking. that's exactly what I'm talking about. you know like hey Dom listen you're. going to get your shine I'm going to put. you over okay I'm going to give you your. shine you don't need to be you know. prairie dogging in every goddamn TV shot. and picture I'm in but I get his big D. that's why we I mean I love him that's. why everybody that's why we love him I. think that is why last question um and. we appreciate you once again how do you. feel this relationship with you and the. Philly faithful kind of get back on good.

terms or will it ever I mean you just. you got to win you know he's the city of. Champions okay you did you just did. that's why it's so yeah but I mean the. the let's be honest the Browns. absolutely [ __ ] stink so I mean you. know you beat the Browns big deal okay. deshaan Watson you know everyone wants. listen they got a whole other deal with. that I won't get into that I'm not going. to speak on that he's not my quarterback. um we need to win the division it's. really as simple as that you know what. what you can't do is you can't you can't. go get beat by the Cowboys when they.

look like hammered dog [ __ ] every week. can't get beat by them uh can't get beat. by the Giants you know who absolutely. stink as well I mean you got to win the. division you know you got to at least. have a ticket into the dance because I. believe if we have our dancing shoes and. we get into the dance we're going to be. able to twostep on some folks like we. weren't able to last year simple that. they said you guys are doing too much of. the two-step that's why it's. constipating maybe we do some more steps. you know do you have any more steps in. there Walt the salsa uh are you familiar. with with the.

Jitterbug yes very much so Jitter I know. how the Jitterbug as well yeah. Jitterbug ladies and gentlemen coach J. thank. [Music]. you wow oh man J coach was on one yeah. he's fired up and see his hair is. growing back though quickly I didn't I'm. still I'm concerned about concerned. about that yeah some people have that. excess skin thing you know bunching up. back there it did start bunching up you. could get a surgery on that have time. for a surgery though there's no way that.

is a big story over there in. Philadelphia boy they hate coach serani. seemly and I know it's not everybody. well maybe it is though majority I don't. know how Philadelphia Eagles fans are. like if you hear their most absurd which. we'll have overreaction tweets later was. thinking about leading the show with an. overreaction tweet from Philadelphia. there before the coach serani. conversation to kind of set the table on. how everybody feels but they were all. too we should not be leading show with. those particular tweet they were a. little bit too aggressive it's like hey. we'll save those for the internet okay.

we'll save those for the internet third. hour whatever the case is but it's like. they're winning games and he's still. getting heat I could see how a. personality trait that serani has is. like like kind of a bunker mentality is. how serani operates so now he's going at. his own fans a lot of season left there. is a lot of home games left T I don't. know how I don't know how this continues. to Blossom but hopefully he'll win some. games speaking of another team that has. fans that are certainly confused how. about this Dallas Cowboys team oh boy.

boy coach serani mentioned them uh. mentioned them there in the NFC East. conversation it's wild the NFC East is. such an interesting thing going to have. a lot of Spotlight going to have a lot. of conversation because how big the. markets are but seemingly every other. year they're either really good they. might get three teams in the playoffs or. complete ass I mean it is a really. interesting go Dallas Cowboys seemingly. on the absolute ass train right now they. get their asses beat by the Detroit. Lions and the decimation of Dallas was. taking place early in that game I mean. it started out that way it was four.

quarters of ass beating and the Detroit. Lions I think the big takeaway is they. were doing dances on the Dallas Cowboys. faces they had offensive lineman lined. up a wide receiver they were running. hooking ladders with pen Su they had. everything going on they were trying to. get the big guys touchdowns because they. were treating it as if it was a. preseason game is what people were. saying Decker goes up and maybe Moss who. somebody you talk about pen Su getting a. hook and ladder here he does an army. crawl now I don't like the call we could. have let this thing fly I don't know. after they would have overturned it.

either I think you let this one ride cuz. look at this play by. pen he's 300 what 300 what 330 probably. 340 hu he's on one hand diving and I. think we saw some highlights of him from. high school with the ball in his hands. uh over the past couple years he's a. freak Show athlete they got offensive. lineman lining up wide they got him. lining up outside and and just having. the time of their lives at the Dallas. Cowboys expense and you know 82nd. birthday of Jerry Jones he spoke you.

know publicly afterwards that he always. does and all these microphones are so. close to his face these these postgame. conversations that he has I mean he's 82. years old that red phone right there I. saw from a different angle that red. phone at one point was actually touching. Jerry's lip while he was talking it's an. interesting kind of setup there but he. said I think it was just the feeling of. the team having fun at our expense. Detroit having fun at our expense and. that's from Ed worder obviously we got. massive back for Ed he was a part of the. scrum down there gets a great photo but.

it's like everybody's talking about how. the Dallas team stinks certainly. warranted this defense has not looked. anything like what we thought this. defense would look like with Zimmer at. the helm Zimmer has been a defensive. coordinator Guru for a long time in this. league you get him on that defensive. team what happens at the end of the year. last year doesn't happen there's going. to be more accountability there's going. to be more signed defense played and. they're going to show up every single. week cuz that's Zimmer football. everybody has played for Zimmer before. seemingly lik Zimmer except for the. people maybe at the vik are on the. offensive side of the ball whenever.

coach Zimmer was running it but every. defensive player seemingly loves Zimmer. he's going to have him playing hard he's. going to have him playing tough is. Dallas defense stinks and doesn't seem. as if his message is really getting. through but on a flip side Detroit made. them look this way Detroit is incredible. at football this Montgomery dude just. signs a massive deal and what's he do oh. he breaks a hundred tackles the next day. everybody they pay in Detroit everybody. they built this team around are pillars. and they are dogs they they match McD DC. they match cam they love being Detroit.

Lions and I think that was what was. evident yesterday there's one culture. that is phenomenal and there's another. culture that has no idea what's going on. right now and I'm thinking the Detroit. Lions offense exposed the uh Dallas. Cowboys defense culture more so than. anything else debut how did you see this. game go and what are your thoughts on. both programs the Dallas Cowboys which. seem to be crop and then the Detroit. Lions which seem to be great how do you. feel I mean we see it the same way and. obviously Detroit is they're they're. unbelievable offensively uh defensively.

the guys are playing great obviously. lose Hutch that'll be a big loss but we. kind of saw this coming into this season. like you knew who what who Detroit was. the guys they paid and on the Dallas. side of it you saw they kind of stood. Pat and just kind of thought okay we'll. keep our guys we'll wait to pay CD we'll. pay Dak we won't really improve our. roster and we'll just come in and be. good they've been embarrassed now the. last four times at home and this was. embarrassing to the standpoint of like. didn't look competitive and kind of. looked like they almost laid down and. almost quit and you never want that tag. on as a as a team as a defense for them.

to be throwing the ball at offensive. lineman and hook pitching it back to. like that is so so supremely. disrespectful from a team standpoint so. to be that I know uh you know Jerry. Jones is pissed off he said he's not. thinking about making a change at the. head coach but when you're on a kind of. a lame duck contract with Big Mike and. you come out have another performance. like this at home I mean you got to. expect some type of movement coming. somewhere but this was this was. absolutely embarrassing on both sides of. the ball and on the flip side Detroit. just looks unbelievable offensively. defensively every phase of the game yeah.

and let's go back to the Dallas in their. three home games they've lost all their. games at home I guess and uh Cowboys in. their three home games they've been. outscored by 66 points and out rushed by. 476 yards they have a minus s in the. turnover battle and a minus 24 in. explosive plays that's at home that's at. home for the Dallas Cowboys Dallas has. led for a total of 2 minutes and 15. seconds across its last four home games. the Cowboys have allowed 648 rushing. yards in their three home games this. season 421 of those 648 65% to be exact.

have come before contact so you're. talking about just getting moved off of. the ball there uh perfect passer rating. is 158.3 Derek Carr Lamar Jackson and. Jared gof combined for a passer rating. average of. 143.5 versus this Dallas defense and. then obviously you bring up the. incredibly sad elephant in the room in. Detroit it's like you get this big of an. ass beating on National Television. against the Dallas Cowboys you would.

hope you'd be able to celebrate an. Applebee's for at least a few days call. in some Pizza Hut hop in your 2500 heavy. duty Ram truck go out to the fields and. have a blast because the Detroit Lions. are so damn dominant over a team that. was supposed to be great but instead. here the loss of Hutch I mean this is a. heartbreaker man and I think even the. people in Dallas felt that like in Jerry. world yeah whenever they not seen what. was happening as soon as you know Hutch. has the the contact with the Detroit. Lions guy with his left leg he knows. immediately taking off the gloves the.

reaction him staying down Hutch is a dog. not going to stay down ever you know. he's going to try to get off the field. was a big indicator but man that is. heartbreaking in Detroit how do you feel. foxy and we would like to let the entire. Detroit Lions fan base know everybody is. bummed out into Hutch godspeed brother. we are going to miss the [ __ ] out of. watching you play football how do I feel. honestly I don't know how to feel cuz. Pat you guys just laid out all of those. stats this team has everything we got.

the Run game we got the o line golf is. playing such good football St Brown J Mo. defense is buzzing and this team. revolves around Aiden Hutchinson the. offense is good enough we're going to. get a lead and then what do you do you. send Hutch to attack the quarterback and. then the defense the the quarterbacks. they're going to get picks and that's. what this team revolved around and when. you don't have Hut I mean if you were to. ask me who would you who would be the. worst player to lose on this team I'd. say number one Jared off number two. Aiden Hutchinson because he's the heart.

and soul of the team he's the hometown. kid and for him to go out like that is. an absolute killer but as mcdc will say. we just got to bounce back and Brad. Holmes has been such a good GM since. he's been in Detroit so I'm hoping and. expecting him to make a move let's send. some picks let's go get a pass rusher. because this team has it we can win the. Super Bowl and losing Aiden Hutchinson. is an absolute killer okay so I. appreciate your entire take on that from.

a Detroit Lions fan and everything you. say we would like to Echo as well about. Hutchinson but him going and making a. move and bringing in a pass rusher yeah. and then all of a sudden let's say he's. there for a couple years him and Hutch. both next year then come oh oh you can. make it you're in that window now let's. go get a Super Bowl this is what life is. like as a lions fan as opposed to what. four years ago no and that's why this is. so crazy we just beat the Dallas Cowboys. 47 to9 in Jerry world we had lost to the. Cowboys six times in a row and I'm. sitting here kind of bummed out still. that makes no sense for Lions it does.

suck it does suck and once again I. Detroit Lions fans have a lot of cuses. they'll be able to handle this and move. on we will miss Hutch for sure but it is. funny that the Lions now are in we need. to go on a run that's the beauty of. football it is and we used all these. draft picks to build this team now I. think we need to use future draft picks. to bring it in that direction you know. GMS have said GMS have said you build. your culture and then you get bring in. free agents you can't have your culture. be built off the free agents feels like. now everything is kind of set in stone.

on who the hell the Detroit Lions are. yeah and there are guys out there like I. mean we threw this out and who knows if. the Browns would ever do it but could. you imagine if they would move on from. Crosby you've heard Max talk about his. commitment to Las Vegas last week when. he was comparing and contrasting his. situation to Devonte Adams and I believe. earlier in the year there might have. been a team that asked the Raiders about. Max Crosby and oh might have floated a. one and I think they said yeah you start.

with multiple ones on that guy and even. then we wouldn't even entertain it so. something could always change but I. don't see the Raiders trading Crosby and. I don't see the Browns trading Garrett. who was the team that did that. chafty I don't know. Pat you do you know we know you know but. if you're Max Crosby obviously you have. to love to hear that there was also. potential same situation happening with. Devonte before the season starts then. that changes then he's back Devonte now. is going to be back with the Raiders.

that's. seemingly no it's a fluid situation. there's a lot of ways this could go and. here's where it's at basically the. Raiders have been adamant that they want. a two plus they don't want to pay down. any OFA salary and there has not been a. team out there that's willing to trade a. two and take on all his salary so either. the Raiders are going to give in and. move their desired asking price or agree. to pay down some of the money or uh they.

might be left with devont Adams which by. the way like there are people there that. are perfectly fine with and Damonte. Adams I know you know it didn't look. like it yesterday but he's a big ad no. Connell fan so he might like the idea of. playing with ad conell now do I still. think that there are teams that are. going to keep calling about Devonte. Adams of course do I still think that. the chances are better than not that he. will be traded yes all I'm saying is. staying in Las Vegas is an option same.

teams as before you feel like more. likely to get traded to Jets Saints. people he's familiar with or any team. yeah right right now uh I think the. Raven Steelers bills have all kind of. checked in and monitored the situation. the Steelers were in Las Vegas yesterday. I'm sure there were conversations that. went on between the two teams to see. what it would take but again the Raiders. have been very stubborn and you know the. problem here is they have in their mind. I think what has come up in the past.

like a year ago at the trade deadline. the Jets were willing to offer two. second round draft picks for Devonte. Adams and they didn't do the deal and. then in the offseason this summer there. were teams out there that were willing. to give up at least a second round draft. pick and they didn't do that and now. we're into the season and now we're. closer to him essentially potentially. being a free agent because there's no. more more guaranteed money on his. contract and teams aren't willing to.

give up what they were before and the. Raiders know what was offered before and. they don't want to move off that so. either they. adjust and then trade him or if they. stick where they are then there's not. going to be a trade that's able to come. together so who's going to have to work. that and soften that other teams GMS are. going to have to talk to Tom Tesco and. say hey you're going to have to accept. something less than that is Devonte. going to have to go talk to Tom Tesco. because allegedly heard he want and talk. to Devonte and they were kind of or they.

he want to talk to AP so they were on a. better position like how does the deal. get done just Tom Tesco wakes up one. morning and says Okay I want less and. then he sounds the alarm and then Bean. or Omar Khan or Ravens or jets or Saints. call in and see that like how does the. deal just happen how does one just uh I. well I think it starts with Mark Davis. because it's in his mind that he wants. that compensation back and he has been. the one so far that has been unwilling.

to bend off that and be flexible off. that he does not want to pay any of the. money left on Devon's deal he does. believe that the Raiders should be. getting back a minimum of a second round. draft pick so you have a situation where. the owner is very adamant on certain. issues here and unless he changes his. stance then nothing's going to happen. with any of these other people okay got. it uh the Raiders seemingly never have. really have a home game certainly not. yesterday Pittsburgh Steelers fans.

Russell Wilson is lurking in the. background and at some point in time. unless the head coach takes it off the. table I still think that at some point. Russell's going to get an opportunity to. start you saw Russell Wilson at the end. of that play right there actually had. his helmet on the entire game was on a. sideline Justin Fields always ready. Justin Fields went 14 to 24 for 145. yards I think there was a drop touchdown. in there though I saw in a highlight 59.

rush yards two touchdowns and he's. continuing to win games and it's like. Arthur Smith is now starting to exploit. defenses with what Justin Fields could. do with his legs as well I mean I if the. team starts getting used to it getting. comfortable and you continue to win. hotel room I went to sleep and I flew. home in the morning I did no no dinner. no nuggets no nothing so I flew to. Denver to get violently ill and came. back and actually to this day I still. think I'm affected by it in certain ways. so it's it's just when you go there like. I've worried like there was a there's a. Monday night game this year I'm not. going to go to that um when you go there. maybe if you're older like me if you get. out toe sickness you don't want that you. want to take altitude medication before. you go man sound like Denver beat your.

ass on that trip happy you're okay happy. you're okay happy you're okay in this. entire thing it must be something about. Michigan men in altitude I don't know. well I'm happy both you guys are okay. and everybody else I did not know. altitude sickness was like that I'd. heard of it before I didn't yeah okay. yeah yeah okay I will respect it I will. respect it speaking of respect. good news because I have done it before. so it's like you know whereas with my my. first daughter it's like every little. noise I'm popping up getting out of bed. going to look at the bassinet like is. she okay she is she breathing all that. kind of stuff now you kind of just. understand like hey that's just like. don't don't kill yourself worrying like. it'll be okay if something is really. wrong you will know if it's really wrong. but uh yeah I mean you know once once. once you kind of get into the swing of. things it's the best thing ever 100%. worth it yeah without a doubt 1 million.

games awesome lot of people back in game. day too the story outy game day is a. good time game day has been a blast. obviously we appreciate everybody. starting their mornings on Saturday with. us I'm lucky to be a part of that but. you're talking about massive numbers for. college football and obviously this is. Burke magnus's tweet Burke Magnus. president of content for ESPN dog we are. big fans of Burke but him putting his. tweet out being like hey a lot of people. hey lot a lot of people watch college. ball great year for that you know. realignment has brought us like some.

close like that wasn't even one of the. the big 1210 or something like that it. was like a low score at the beginning. and then it busted out and then you know. Tennessee Florida goes to overtime and. there's and there was a bunch of other. and jenty is just mustat all the time. like there and Vandy takes care of. business again like it's it's just. Ohio State but this scene and many. others around College this year have. been magnificent what are your thoughts. on the Oregon Ohio State game AJ. obviously a let down for Buckeyes fans. are we calling for D's job like we do. every other time Ohio State loses or. how's Ohio reacting AJ I mean obviously. they're they're definitely disappointed. in the outcome what happened here I mean. it it was an unbel game to watch no. matter who you were cheering for I guess. but yeah it's definitely disappointing. Ohio State felt like they they could.

have won this one for sure but I I sit. there and go back and think like all. right what do we like what's the what's. the goal you want to win the national. championship guess what it's still out. in front of you and now we can possibly. have a home playoff game so I'm trying. to look at the positives but yeah. definitely disappointing loss that was. Aon Stadium or whatever they caused like. three or four false starts the Ohio. State Bucky had no idea what to do out. there in the Pacific Northwest they. couldn't handle the two time zones AJ is. that seemingly what took place or was it. situational awareness at the end of the. game that everybody's calling for. because I see I heard that after a. timeout having 12 men on the field on. defensive side yeah yeah what was going. on there I don't know if that was just. like is this team not I mean I haven't. asked I have not reached out but as. you're watching it live fresh out of a.

timeout to have 12 men on the field take. the penalty still not in field goal. range run five six seconds off the. clock was that the biggest genius move. we've seen in some time out of Oregon. how does Ohio State fans view how that. game ended yeah I think people are. that's definitely floating around the. internet now right like did they was. this a calculated deal to gain to take 4. seconds off of the clock and if so I. mean gezz we'll try people will try to. replicate that in the future I would. imagine but I don't know has Dan Lany.

I fell asleep before getting that. started I wake up 3:30 to take a go a. bathroom and uh I quickly realized wow I. have not done enough research for this. particular program so what you saw there. at 6: a.m. I'd been up since 3:30. running right through it and uh that. that was an afternoon game for me you. know that what that felt like so a lot. of people like how's this guy have all. his energy at 6 a.m. it's like well it. felt like it was like noon you know cuz.

I'd been up for a while panicking oh. [ __ ] I don't know [ __ ] about anything. but college ball has been delivering so. has the NFL AJ how about this Packers. team brother Jordan Love Now Ty we. haven't really got a chance to hear from. you in a few weeks here about it all. this Green Bay Packers team can go win. at all you think Jordan love is the guy. for the future for sure right for the. Green Bay Packers yeah I really do think. so obviously the NFC North is very very. tough and you know the Packers with what. the Lions and the Vikings are doing and. how the NFC kind of is as a whole like.

they don't really have much room for air. so they kind of need to win the games. that they're supposed to and kind of get. a couple more just so they can get in. the dance but he looks completely back. from his knee injury early on and uh you. debut and I were kind of talking about. it before the show like Love's awesome. because he's a gunslinger like he is fun. to watch he kind of he he's not as you. know um safe with the football as Rogers. was obviously we all know Rogers. touchdown to interception ratio is the. best ever like love love will put it.

into a window with four guys draped over. a receiver like he's hunting for the big. plays at all times and he had a couple. of them yesterday but I think the big. thing with the Packers is we talked. about we've talked about an ad nauseum. really since we've ever done this show. like they actually have a defense that I. think can win now they've created the. most turnovers or forced the most. turnovers in the NFL this year theyve 17. through six weeks I think that's the. that's tied for the most ever since like. the 2018 Bears or something and and you. know however long but the the defense.

isn't just like a massive detriment. anymore and if the Packers can go out. and put up you know 30 plus points which. they're capable of doing every week like. the defense is going to get them a. couple turnovers they're getting after. the quarterback so yeah I mean as long. as they can stay healthy I feel very. confident that this is a team that has. enough talent to go you know at least. push for a Super Bowl AJ we just saw. right there dos in the action early and. obviously scoring a touchdown after what. happened last week got to feel good for. the culture of the Packers as well AJ. outside looking in yeah of course I mean. Jordan love does a great job too of like.

cre like everybody's involved I feel. like everyone's getting targets guys. different receivers yesterday and when. you turn the ball over like they do. defensively which was a huge thing that. they were not doing last year so Jeff. hle and them give them credit man they. when you take the ball away and you're. known as like a team that's going to get. picks and get to punch the ball out and. do all of that like I think it slows. offenses down as well are the Packers. going to end up the ones in the NFC. North Area shap Butler oh I don't know. that division is absolutely stacked like. the point differential for every team is. like at least over 40 obviously you got.

a Young quarterback with Caleb and. Chicago they've been playing well Swift. has been playing well but then you look. at their teams that theyve played so. it's kind of like hey are they just. beating up on bad teams but I would be. very excited from bearsan from Zeke uh. obviously the Vikings still undefeated. they're rolling on both sides of the. ball and we know the wagon that the. lions are now can they replace Aiden. Hutchinson having pretty much half of. their total sacks of the defense but I. mean I feel like any any those teams can. come out on top even at this point in. the season to to Tai's Point like the. way Jordan love plays and being able to.

spin it like that being a gunslinger and. then having that freedom to be a. gunslinger because you know your defense. is probably going to get you extra two. possessions anyway so uh that's a scary. combination especially when all those. wide receivers are kind of on the same. page and available joining us right now. ladies and gentlemen is the greatest. coach of all time and the greatest. general manager of all time Bill. bellich coach hey quick question before. with the season when we CH it with you. you said it takes a few weeks before. teams really find out who they are I. think you said like 5 six weeks maybe.

even seven eight uh weeks you kind of. figure it out we were just talking about. the NFC North and how dominant they. seemingly are from top to bottom do you. think we have a good grasp of who these. teams are at week six this year or do. you think we still have some time to. figure out who's who. coach well first of all Pat let me just. say that I thought you killed it on game. day oh yeah that was awesome in Oregon. thank what an energy that must have been. what was that like 400 in the morning. out there yes it was very early pitch. dark those kids were out all night they.

were camping out starting at like 10: p.m. I think it was awesome coach I. appreciate you watching man that was. cool yeah absolutely I know I thought. that was uh I thought that was awesome. uh the way that you you know brought the. energy to the the game day um man hell. yeah but yeah no it's really uh you know. it's really been interesting this season. that certainly there's some teams that. are in great position here at third of. the way through the season there's some. teams that um you know they better find. out pretty quick what it's going to be. or or they're going to be in trouble I. mean Jacksonville you know Coach.

Peterson talking about we got to find a. new culture Cleveland you know obviously. definitely having trouble there um so. there's there's definitely some. situations here that not to mention. Dallas I mean that's that's pretty. disheartening for you know an owner. who's paid out as much money as he's. paid out for those players to you know. have the results they've had so far this. season so still a long way to go but. yeah the NFC North's exciting all those. teams are looking good as they start to. play each other here we'll see how. things sort out but um they're all up to. a good start okay let's hit a couple of. the things you just mentioned there NFC.

North the Detroit Lions they lose Hutch. obviously that's a massive piece of. their defense but they beat the dog [ __ ]. out of the Dallas Cowboys which you just. mentioned conversation is always Dallas. Cowboys stink Mike McCarthy needs fired. how much of the conversation should be. that Detroit Lions exposed the Dallas. Cowboys what are your thoughts on. that well I think Lions have played. really well this year I mean ran into a. little bit of trouble against Tampa Bay. but they've got a really good offensive. line a lot of explosive players on. offense uh and they're playing well. defensively so um theyve they've been.

really hitting on all cylinders and and. been very impressive um you know if he. can keep uh keep the pressure off of. golf which they've done a good job of. doing uh they've really racked up a lot. of points and and made it good for the. defense to play from ahead so um it'll. be interesting to see how it goes when. they start to match up against their. division opponents who really know them. well and and how well that can uh you. know those teams can neutralize them or. not coach they're saying there's a. chance that the Detroit Lions general. manager Brad Holmes may be on the phone. this morning trying to replace Aiden.

Hutchinson or at least try to get a pass. rusher for that defense is that standard. operating procedure as a general manager. after losing like the sole of your. defense uh well there's not a lot of. players like uh like Hutch are available. so maybe there are a couple and and uh. you know it's certainly a good move by. the general manager to explore all those. options and see see what's out there but. it's hard to replace those kind of. players and uh a lot of teams aren't. aren't looking to give them away now we. saw a couple of those moves last year by. the Redskins or sorry the commanders uh.

you know when they uh you know try to. stockpile those draft picks for for this. uh the 24 draft um but I'd say those uh. situations are are less frequent but. they may be there again this year with. some of the teams if they feel like. they're they're not going anywhere this. year and they want to you know have. higher draft picks next year and and cut. their salary cap numbers then then maybe. there's a trade there to be made I mean. I don't know but certainly it's the. right thing to do for a general manager. if he needs help to start looking for it.

I don't know I've never been in those. calls would a GMS from around the league. who are potentially looking to trade. their guy would they reach out to holes. or would Holmes be the one reaching out. to people could go either way yeah could. go either way depends on uh you know. what kind of relationship you have uh. with those teams and and uh I know how. aggressive you want to be with it but uh. you know there there's multiple ways to. to let that me you know you'd like say. well it's better when they call you. instead of when you call them but in the. end um a deal is a deal both sides have.

to be happy with it and so uh to reach. out and lookas I don't see anything. wrong with that yeah you lose leverage. potentially if you seem like you're the. desperate one trying to get rid of a. player I guess and I like the fact that. you sharks in the NFL are holding that. over who called who here hey hey hey who. called who here I need to be reminded. real quick I love that I'll be excited. to see what Detroit does cuz obviously. you're never going to be able to replace. Aiden Hutchinson in Michigan in Detroit. for the Lions and for that team but. maybe you can get some production out of. somebody uh to go on a Super Bowl run go.

ahead AJ coach a lot of uh young. quarterbacks are still continuing to. play well Caleb Williams and the Bears. getting another win when you watch Caleb. play I guess what have you kind of seen. how have you seen him grow from week one. until now because he looks to be much. more comfortable seems to be in command. of the offense and obviously the defense. is playing very well. too right well I think that was a good. defense to to play against um but jeez. uh you know he's done a good job. protecting the ball uh better job not. turning it over he has a good defense I. think hopefully he understands that he.

doesn't have to go out and score 45. points every week bears are a good. defensive team and uh he's taking. advantage of the opportunities uh this. play right here the fun pass the fake. the wide screen to both sides and hit. the tight end over the middle uh was a. you know the nice creative play that uh. obviously Jacksonville you know totally. misplayed and then you know couldn't. tackle Comm at so uh it's they've done a. good job there you know uh coach. Johnson's done um uh coach um e flu well.

Steve and then others that have followed. after him and certainly all the ones we.

have in the league now have a. responsibility to not always snap and. block so you can leave the Gunner split. and uh that was a big fundamental change. uh that I'd say most coaches didn't. think it was possible but Steve and some. of the other guys that played in those. mid 80s uh changed that so I know you. appreciate that Pat as a punter getting. those Gunners out there to cover. absolutely and if you can get a snapper. that can block snap and cover I mean. here we go here here we go that's a big. normally need to do two out of three I. don't know if that's how you viewed it. that's kind of how how I viewed it.

coverage in snapping good you then you. could kind of hide you blocking wise if. you could snap and block well that's. good then we don't really need you. coverage wise needed to have two yeah. and then that naturally evolved into the. uh field goal snaps with the Snappers. being able to snap the laces almost. perfectly when did that start happening. in the. NFL oh I think that's been going on for. quite a while ever since I came into the. league that was always the goal for the. Snapper to to be able to have the right. rotation on the ball but the other thing. I'd say for the Snappers just some. awareness you know situations like um.

last week um when uh when the Giants. leaped against uh Seattle um and there's. a safety lining up in an a gap and I. don't know why the Snapper couldn't see. that and just lean into him what do you. think he's there for and then turn. around and did the same thing this week. against Philadelphia miles Garrett lined. up in the a gap I mean what's he there. in the a gap for I mean you got of the. centers the Snapper's got to be aware of. that he's got to know who's on either. side of him in the a gaps and and be. ready to just get a stand up so that the.

touches you yeah so he doesn't jump over. you I mean it's if he touches him at all. I would put I would put just a minimum. of awareness in there it doesn't take a. lot but just a minimum of awareness so. just snaping see who's in there yeah so. it's like uh there it is practice. especially because the new rule is if. they touch you they can't touch you so. like if they perfectly clear they don't. uh use anybody as leverage or catapult. themselves or touch the back or the back. of somebody's head it's okay they made.

that rule like what 5 10 years ago I I. don't remember exactly when it was so. then there was a thought like if you. just touch them it's a flag it's a flag. so just it's like get big almost right. yeah flip them over yeah and then some. guys you throw a jab used to be the job. job that would never be coach just stand. up and block them I mean a guy's jumping. up in the air yeah can't coach it but. they're certainly guys hair punching. dongs you can coach it some people coach. it some people. coach what's going on in Green Bay we.

like a full investigation into this. thing way back in the day uh debuts has. a question for you coach yeah after uh. dropping too early the Ravens seemed I. mean just Unstoppable unbelievable Run. game we know signed D Derrick Henry with. Patrick rard means that run game o line. playing well as well and then you got. Lamar Jackson absolutely spinning it um. can anybody stop the Ravens like what. what what what's the game plan coming in. if you're trying to play against that. offense and obviously they always have a. defense that show up as. well boy they really look good uh but I.

I'm with you um I think that um I think. Lamar has done a really good job this. year best I've seen him in terms of. looking downfield when he buys time in. the pocket um it's not just pull it down. and run it's pull it down and look. downfield he's made a lot of downfield. throws as he's as he scrambled around um. the perimeter running game has been. really great for uh the Ravens they're. really good at the point of attack you. know with with Rashard and and what.

they're doing on the end of the line of. scrimmage but they've gotten a lot of. plays like this on cutback runs and I. think what you're seeing is everybody on. the offensive line and even the backside. lineman and backside receivers are. really hustling and blocking hard. because they know the guy who's got the. ball might bring it back here to the. backside and and every Block's important. so um as a team they're playing. extremely well offensively and uh you. know just getting a lot of big plays. from the running game an incredible. number from the running game which has. open up the Play action game Lamar's. played really good flowers has given him.

some explosive plays uh and then. defensively we know they're good against. the run it's just how well can they hold. up in the passing game they couldn't. hold up very well against Cincinnati. that's a concern um so there's something. that they're going to have to do well. going forward is is be able to defend. the passing game I know they beat. Cincinnati but in a lot of ways they. were fortunate to beat Cincinnati that. could easily gone the other way so yeah. I think that's an area they got to. improve in but that old lady at that. restaurant the night before fired yeah. she sealed that fate brother she sealed.

that BAU beo the bunner that was that. old lady that's why Bok stepped in did. you see him yesterday first punt first. time catching the ball on the field. since dropping a snap which would be a. nightmare backed up in his own End Zone. I'd have been jogging out there just. like well this my last snap he said he. hit an absolute B mental toughness of. that guy insane speaking of mental. toughness co uh Connor has a question. for you coach yeah coach there's a. situation yesterday with Coach sirani. where you know after the game or at. halftime rather there were boob birds. flying and people saying fire Nick.

throughout the stadium and then after. the game you know when the Eagles sealed. it uh he went over to the front row. behind the Eagles bench and was kind of. just asking you know where you guys at. now I can't hear can't hear you saying. anything now you know where you at but. you have spoken about Philly before I. miked up and I know you enjoyed going. there is this more so a product of. Philadelphia and have you ever really. wanted to go and Cher back at the fans. and also just as a coach uh is it hard. not to hear those types of things being.

said about you because it's been a few. weeks now after wins for the Eagles. where basically everyone's calling for. his. head yeah I think that uh Conor I think. that comes with a territory you kind of. expect that uh honestly uh sometimes you. just got to laugh about it you know I. remember when uh we were at the Giants. and uh we won 10 straight uh and then we. lost lost one and we come back home to. play uh in Giants stadium we're 10 and. one and we come back to play in Giants.

stadium and and I'm walking onto the. field with Sims uh and they start booing. them you know Sims you stink you stink. I'm feeling I look at each other like. you you gotta be kidding me and it was a. little bit of the same thing at at New. England a couple of times it didn't. happen very often but a couple times you. know we won I forget what it was 20 some. straight it was a lot and uh you know. you kneel on the ball at the half with. like 30 seconds to go and and you know. you get a couple like you know kind of. random calls coming off the field it's.

like we won 20 some straight like just. just come on um but look it is what it. is and uh look Nick's a very emotional. guy he's he gets uh I mean I love Nick. he's you know so may maybe the situation. you know got a little bit the best of. him but uh you know the big thing is how. your team plays and how it competes and. uh you know I'm I'm sure in the end that. you know we can all laugh about some of. those situations if they continue to win. yeah if they start losing games though. coach boy all of it is going to get.

brought up in a big way I mean that is. just I guess to you know the point of. Conor like Philadelphia is just one of. those places how many places were you. impressed by so so Pat that's so that. was that's kind of where you know it all. started for us is because you know we. would go on the road this is back in 01. we go on the road and and they in. introduce each player you know so like. Teddy Bruce and then the whole stadium. goes sucks you know and then Mike Rael. sucks coached by Bill bellich really.

suck everybody ination you know like. okay so we kind of said look we're done. with that like why do we have to walk. out on the field and you let 70,000 fans. all at the same time like Boo us we'll. just all go out there together let them. boo us all at once and just go with the. game and so we did that for the whole. year and then we got to the Super Bowl. and came out as a team too that's really. all that's how all that started is when. they they just like suck suck suck sucks. and it really sucks like all right then.

we're not doing this. again all at once so let me get this. straight you want my guys to walk out. one by one so this city can tell them. that they suck I don't think so yeah. right like all right forget that like. we're not doing that anymore how do you. feel uh whenever you watch like the. Raiders game yesterday and that's a. Steelers home game I assume you guys had. that with New England fans that traveled. greatly but if you're like Raiders not. that it ever happened with New England. but how do you talk like if you're AP. how do you talk we're going on silent. count at home every week pretty much I.

don't know if they have a home field. advantage genuinely have no idea if they. have one what an insane situation with. Steelers fans invading. Vegas yeah that that that St well you. know that happened in New York a lot. when I was with the Giants we would go. to Arizona or occasionally play in the. AFC in Miami and and uh all the retirees. down there and their families and. everything they came out we had a lot of. fans in the stadium same thing New. England all the Boston fans that are. retired down in like Tampa Miami. Jacksonville Arizona whatever it is you.

know you get a lot of fans there um so. it's you know it's great when it happens. um but look it is it is what it is you. control what you can control and if you. have to go silent you go silent and if. you don't you don't and just uh some. things that are out of your control you. just can't worry about them hey foxb was. a real home field advantage people are. scared to [ __ ] to go up there they. wouldn't say that obviously before the. game but it was like we're about to go. get our asses beat in G there was like a. looming feeling about it and your fans. were and obviously they had a lot of. reason to be as arrogant and as.

assholish as they were but they were a. good group you you knew that right you. knew that that place was a weapon for. you guys yeah we just had to be careful. when we scored not to run into the to. the musket guys that were shooting off. their guns they blew up a couple our. guys right almost knocked them down. right in their face and uh uh but yeah. no it look it was a great place to play. the fans there are very very passionate. and they gave us a lot of support um so. it was yeah no it was great same thing. in Indie too you know in Indie you got. all the crowd noise there uh you got a a.

loud you. know pumped Bill. organic home grown those are Colts fans. brother and the. speakers who that's that's skipped. okay that. was that was the TV The MythBusters came. it was no I was on the field no you. misheard you misheard because it was so. loud at Patricia Teddy brusi and I we.

were on the field when it skipped on the. field it wasn't TV we were on the field. no it was TV coach TV you don't know you. don't you weren't there actually was. actually was there uh anyways the loud. housee is still just is loud but some of. those places are much more of an. advantage than others and I think it has. a lot to do with like the personality of. the city you know and what they're. willing that's why like Baltimore if. Baltimore was to get HomeField advantage. or whatever Baltimore's fans are.

phenomenal New England was a place that. was like that Philadelphia is a place if. you get them on like for you as opposed. to against you like that place is. awesome that's why it's all part of the. storyline anyways other story line well. remember Pat Baltimore had home field. advantage yeah can't well just Tucker. had home field advantage hes and Kelsey. the look the AFC Championship game and. NFC Championship. Game there's an advantage to playing at. home there's a disadvantage to playing. at home it's tough to play at home in. the AFC Championship game okay we'd like. to hear more as a man who played in a.

thousand AFC Championship Games how come. what the expectations the expectations. is is you're the higher ranked team. you're playing at home and everybody. thinks you're going to the Super Bowl. like when we went out to Kansas City in. 2018 and played on the road it's it's. tough being the home team the. expectations are so high that you're in. the Super Bowl and you're playing a. great team whoever ever you're playing. is they're they're another great team. and dealing with the expectations about. you know where you kind of get ahead of.

we went into Pittsburg and beat. Pittsburgh twice twice in the AFC. Championship uh went into Indianapolis. should have won that game for the AFC. Championship uh but you know like it's. tough to win at home in AFC championship. games now sometimes it works out I'm not. saying that and I'm not saying I. wouldn't want HomeField Advantage but. it's not as big of an advantage in my. opinion as what it what it would seem to. be because the expectations of the fans. ownership uh just the city that we're. just we're on our way to the Super Bowl.

it's a foregone conclusion all we G to. do is show up and win this game and that. team you're playing is really good how. about the divisional round not as much. or or. similar not as much not as much pressure. I mean there's still pressure it's the. playoffs but I think the AFC Champion FC. championship games are they're they're. they're not easy to play at home I'm not. saying I'd rather play it on the Road. I'm saying you got to really have the. right mentality to play that game at. home and if your opponent's coming in. with one of those who's a good team with.

a lot of confidence saying like I don't. care if we're in your Stadium or not. we're just going to ruin your party and. they had that tough hard-nosed attitude. like I felt like we had going into. Pittsburgh twice um you you can win on. the road in championship games you. really can you just got to have the. right mentality Patrick momes and Travis. Kelsey last year was their first time on. the road in the playoffs do you remember. that they were doing like snow angels in. Buffalo and doing and their entire thing. then they go to Baltimore and that punch. out obviously gigantic and a lot of. changing but this Ravens team seems to.

be a wagon speaking of a wagon GNA have. to have a good kicker Green Bay has a. question for you another special teams. yeah coach just curious I mean obviously. you know we're talking about at this. point in the season kind of knowing who. you are when do you know whether or not. it's time for a kicking change obviously. at this point in the season there's not. just a plethora of good kickers. available to sign but like the Packers. who have you know aspirations to go you. know deep into the playoffs and here. they have their kicker who I think he's. missed five kicks already and it's kind.

of already getting to the point where. they're almost deciding to go for it on. fourth down you know in in field goal. range like when do you know like okay we. can't do this anymore we we kind of we. need to make a kicking. change yeah that's a really it's a tough. question it really is I think first of. all you make the change when you know. you've improved your team right so if. you have a player on the practice squad. or maybe you have a player that you have. coached before at a different team or. something like that uh and you feel like. okay I know this guy is going to be.

better than than the player we have then. that's an easy change to make when you. don't know that uh when your kicker is. not doing well and you bring in three or. four guys to work out but you really. don't know any of them and you're not. really sure whether he's any better than. the guy you have then that's a you know. that's a tough situation we've all seen. kickers get in slumps uh and then get. out of them too so I think part of it is. also uh just how how mentally tough and. resilient your kicker is and uh how he's. able to handle that so it I'd say that. varies a little bit that's a tough.

question to answer Without Really. knowing what's in the in the kicker's. head and and what type of uh uh. personality and I'd say support that. that he has but uh when you have to. start coaching differently as you. mentioned like well we can't try a field. goal here I'm not sure he's going to. make it or uh and you start thinking. like that then then I think you you it's. you're not really coaching like you. should be coaching you almost have to. make a change if you get to that point. as a head coach because then you have a. player on the team to do something that. you don't feel he can do so you should.

try to get somebody on the field that. you feel like can do that yeah losing. complete trust in one of your players. that is going to be scoring points for. you is obviously not great how much. worse could it possibly be with another. kicker coming on to the roster is. probably what they're weighing he's a. rookie though will he have time to kind. of figure out what the NFL kicking. mindset is and mentality is he's also. wearing a number 44 which we don't you. know I don't I don't know I don't know. there I don't know. that doesn't look good out there I don't. I don't but but you know Pat a lot of. the kickers in the league have have been. with other teams before some of the very.

best kickers in the league and so that's. part of it too they they don't yeah they. whatever they regain their confidence or. they change a little something with. their technique or whatever it is and. then they become you know some of the. very best kickers in the league so uh. you don't want to make that move too. soon but you've got to make the right. move for the team and and it's it's not. an easy one to make and so you have uh I. would say a lot of voices on that one. right you have a head coach you have a. special teams coach you might have maybe. somebody who's more with the kickers in.

addition to the special teams coach. general manager Personnel director owner. uh you you got a lot of experts on that. and so um sometimes that can get a. little bit confusing too depending on. like who really has the final say or or. who actually really knows what they're. talking about yeah that's always good. you know well yeah the guy that. seemingly is the most mouthy is the one. that knows the least amount about this. particular situation that's great new. everybody else has to balance and a and. a lot of times Pat the other two. Specialists the holder and and the.

Snapper might have a better handle on. the situation than anybody because you. know you're with those guys every day. you you really know how they are and uh. sometimes uh they really feel like this. guy's lost his confidence he's really. this isn't going to get any better uh. they might have better insight into it. than than any coach would just because. of the amount of time they spend with. them and and how close they are to him. so I think there's a lot of different. forces in there at work and and. ultimately as whoever the final decision. maker is whe that's the head coach the. owner or the Personnel director whoever.

it is that's making it uh you know you. hope you have the very best information. that that's available there but there. sometimes there are a lot of sources hey. narvis let's go you got this he's good. he can find it he can find the swing got. a huge leg yeah for sure it's just with. Green Bay too you WEA you worry about. like he's missing all these kicks when. like the weather's nice like it's about. to get really ugly in green Bay so wait. till it gets bad that's right wait get. bad already missed five the weather. hasn't hit yet out there in Green Bay.

Football Bills and Jets AP tone has a. question for you coach yeah coach let's. talk about the Jets who you have a. little bit of experience against um how. much can coach rri and and Todd Downing. taking over the as the OC how much can. they actually change as far as coaching. goes coming in and taking over for Salah. um and the OC. situation well that's a great question.

um defensively I don't think there's. going to be any change at all I mean uh. alri really is going to run the same. defense that that Robert ran it be the. same coaching points the same defense. they played Buffalo multiple times so I. I would really be shocked if there's. anything going on new there at all um I. didn't really understand the offensive. situation uh they changed the play. caller but not the OC is that correct y. or or whatever it is the title I think. same yeah so the same people are there. but it sounds like they've kind of.

shuffled the deck a little bit I don't. really know what that means um to me I. thought that Rogers uh always was in. pretty good control when he was on the. field regardless of what the play was or. what it wasn't I'm not saying he called. the plays I'm just saying that he has so. much uh experience and uh is is so smart. out there on the field that you know he. can figure it out now what his health. and what his physical situation is I'm. not really sure about that U but I would. say whoever the offensive coordinator. play caller is uh in the end if it were. me I would rely pretty heavily on Aaron.

because of the amount of experience and. um you know and his expertise in that. offense coach Downing taking over for. the play calling of Nathaniel Hackett. and Coach brick in his press conference. last week said that he'll be in full. control of strategy and play call what. that means we shall see this evening. coach brick tape coming from practice. he's not a hug guy except for with a. couple guys you know some guys we got to. kind of Drive our feet a little bit he's. a high five stay away keeping moving guy. seemingly and then he understands that.

some of his players want to hug okay. want to come in and do a hug there seems. like he's got a good good feel in the. pulse of the locker room we shall see. debuts got a question for you about. tonight yeah I can't wait to catch you. on the Manny cast tonight are there any. specific matchups you're looking forward. to tonight whether it be players or. certain units against other units on the. field tonight with this big uh AFC East. matchup right well I I think the key. thing for uh the Jets defensively would. be you know number one to to keep Allen. in the pocket not let him scramble to.

the de defensive left offensive right. and and eliminate those big plays and. force Buffalo to to convert third Downs. to score um the Jets have been hurt a. little bit on those outside runs those. SE Gap runs toss cracks things like that. uh with San Francisco so I think that's. definitely a you know an area of concern. but uh quarterback sweeps uh as change. up plays things like that and then doing. a good job in the red area on on Josh. Allen I think that'll be really. important um you know for for Buffalo.

it's it's not turning the ball over. against these defense and being patient. taking the plays that that are there and. you know not trying to force the ball in. there um I you know probably stay away. from Gardner and and try to you know. work on on the safeties and other people. defensively um uh say for Buffalo you. know the biggest thing with Buffalo is. to me has been just their um they've. given up too many big plays they've. given up some long runs they've given up. some long passes they don't have a ton. of Team Speed uh I think if hall or. Wilson or any of those guys can can get.

a little space uh they can create some. big plays and I think that you know if. the Jets can do that uh and not have to. drive the whole length of the field and. deal with the pass rush and convert a. lot of third Downs they can hit some. explosive plays on them that that would. really help them but look ultimately. they got to score I mean they just can't. win scoring seven and 10 points so um I. I think I would look for them to try to. get a couple explosive plays in the game. offensively coach how often have you. prepared for these teams did you hear. that I mean we got to remember he was. just doing film against these guys last. year you know what I mean just like in.

their the entire process Buffalo Bills. they allegedly you know have had a. window now they have a different. iteration of the team people say their. window has closed how do you feel about. all those window talk and window. conversation you think this Buffalo. Bills team after watching film and then. obviously playing against them the last. few years have the capability to go on. and win this thing and by this thing I. mean lombardis because that's literally. all they're going to be judged off of. and Josh Allen's going to be judged off. of well I think they have a lot of. things going for them they have a good. good culture they're very confident and.

smart team they don't make a lot of. mistakes they don't beat themselves uh I. worry about their overall Team Speed. defensively and in the kicking game uh. and offensively I mean Josh Allen's very. very hard to stop I mean he's he's great. um but I think if you the more you make. him drive it the more plays you make him. run offensively uh the better chance you. have of of not giving up a lot of points. so so uh I think that plays into the. Jets favor defensively uh if they can. force those long drives and and force. the multiple third down conversions I.

think they'll do a good job in the. running game uh but they're going to. have to score to win and and 10 seven 13. points probably ain't going to be enough. all right we appreciate the hell out of. you coach you're the goat we can't wait. to watch tonight all right thank you. appreciate it pat can't wait to see you. on game day next Saturday where are you. going to be uh Texas Austin Texas for. season and obviously you know the two. interceptions one of them was deflected. unbelievable play by the defender but. mostly because the fact that it's. Houston like you mentioned yeah we lose. by 20 the Texans are doing this to. basically every team they play aside. from the Vikings this year like they're. one of the best teams one of the best. defenses in the NFL and he was able to. play very very well missed a few throws. no doubt about it couple behind but then. he came back and he hit dudes you know. right across the middle pop Douglas his.

touchdown that was inride absolute Dart. 46 and then the booty one we show deep. ball down the sideline perfect but he. got murdered a couple times absolutely. slaughtered actually one of them it was. to start the second half he he got hit. in the arm fumbled looked like his. shoulder was ripped off his body guy. pops right up he's a tough tough tough. son of a [ __ ] and that was a huge thing. to see just because you're not sure I. mean he's 22-year-old kid may maybe once. those things happen you know they talk.

about how quarterbacks start looking at. the rush and those things you know can. affect guys throwing the ball down the. field it didn't you know this was. legitimately the first or second play of. the second half and he came back after. this and still threw for two more. touchdowns and oh by the way only one. guy is thrown for over 200 yards against. the Houston Texans defense and that's my. guy okay as May baby that's the May FL. and we we luckily you know yeah he's the. only guy to do that this year and you. know we'll see what happens yeah I do.

hope boom how about that too first QB. since at least 1950 to throw for three. touchdowns and Lead his team in rushing. yeah the kid can move than you Dante the. kids got wheels shout out Dante. definitely a cool ass name Fleming uh. look I feel great about Drake May in the. Patriots going forward now the defense. that was embarrassing that was the worst. that was the worst they played by far. all year I don't know what happened in. the second half Joe Mixon had a hell of. a day but they they started well Gonzo. the Gonzo flew unfortunately it did look.

like Diggs got vaccinated before this. game because he was able to have a lot. of success against Christian Gonzalez. but the the defense I don't know what's. going on over there there were some. comments after the game from uh Davin. God show one of our D tackles kind of. just talking about Pride don't love that. um and then dig kind of celebrated right. in his face too got a 15 yard penalty it. was sweet but huge bummer as a Patriots. fan uh but overall like seeing a. quarterback do the things that Drake may.

can do it just gives you so much hope. now going back to the last rookie. quarterback we saw m Jones he led the. team to the playoffs and obviously we. know how that ended so the game one. though for Drake May huge win losing by. 20 sucks but when we're just looking at. the longterm not winning the Super Bowl. this year what do you need to see you. saw everything you needed CJ st's so. good so good good he's so good at the. football and Stefan digs eating a little. bit too number one clear yeah you're. obviously missing Nico Collins for a few. weeks with his hammy but you have two.

other guys who can step up and. absolutely ball out with u Stefan and. tank Dale got shows as well but the Run. game The Run game is started there Joe. Mixon he he's back healthy he was do he. started the year off dominant I believe. against us the Colts was his first game. but he's been great Pierce had a big run. as well couldn't stop the run you. mentioned Gonzo kind of struggling. against Diggs Diggs is going to do that. you're going to have those type of games. as a corner back but as far as Drake May. goes like I better than I Haven expected. out of the gate we saw how the other. rookie quarterbacks kind of struggle. early the Texans that's that's no slouch.

football is back defense is stink again. AJ why don't you guys figure it out yeah. I mean what yeah I would love do people. have theories on this on why points are. up like this week compared to maybe the. last couple weeks or whatever's going on. like what is the. theory offenses are figuring it out then. there's also a theory that because they. don't do any preseason they can't. practice this is the true so now they've. gotten through their preseason as an. offense and now here we go they're. starting to roll yeah I assume there's. people saying that because the classic. they don't practice enough nobody does. preseason so everybody's timing is off.

for the first three weeks because. they're really learning how to play. football with each other they're not. going full speed people are taking full. contact hits for the first time like. this isn't the same old football they're. getting used to it in the middle of the. Season we got used to it in August you. know like that is I think how some. people are viewing it but honestly who. the [ __ ] knows the only the only. downside is it felt like this week there. was a there wasn't as many close games. because there's too many points being. scored by one side of the yeah there was. a couple blowouts there yeah. was it's dumb you kind of good though it.

makes it easier to watch other games get. them out of the box get them out of the. Quad box yeah it's some of these games. are when there's like four good ones on. at the same time it's hard to keep up. impossible and obviously we get to and. the NFL plus is the real deal you just. go in there and it'll catch you up on. everything you need to get caught up on. and it'll give you stats and insights to. on everything that happened in the games. shout out to NFL plus NFL plus premiums. you to play AR emergency quarterback. number three I know that was disputed. all week or conversated about outside. the building mentally for you handling. that plus like whether or not you're. going to play dayto day how has it been. and how's your relationship still with. ar who we all hope is healthy or on his. way to healthy yeah it's all good I mean. listen I think getting a couple weeks. under my belt before this week was. definitely good I mean just having the. practice um uh kind of going into the.

Jacksonville week and and all that I. think it helps prepare you and lock you. in a little bit more than you are the. previous few weeks just naturally so I. think just having that experience from. like the last couple weeks I was able to. draw on that a little bit and then just. kind of you know take every day for what. it was and make sure I was prepared how. do you feel about the conversation. though that is happening it is very. large obviously we're having it on this. program cuz I watch but it is AR. obviously you understand the situation. drafted number four overall to be the. future of organization you're brought in.

to be backup quarterback veteran. hopefully guide and Lead injury happens. you get in you play good ball future. still is AR do you guys talk you and AR. have those conversations what is the. what is the relationship between you two. through it all no we don't have any. conversations like that I mean listen uh. everybody every one of us in the locker. room has a job and a role on this team. and the end goal is for us to be you. know a division-winning playoff team and. let's go see what we can do um and I. know what my role is and my role is to.

go out there and be prepared at all. times and when I am called upon make. sure that I can put our team in position. to win football games and I understand. that um I'm gonna go out there and I'm. gonna do my best and I'm gonna love it. and I'm gonna have a blast and I'm gonna. you know believe me yeah I'm going to do. all those things but you know I I. understand my role and I'm just trying. to make sure I can do that the best I. can you're ass out there dude so much. ass it is it is a blast to watch and I. uh you're seemingly the perfect person. for the relationship in the situation.

Colts fans are lucky for the dubs. excited for the future as well AJ has a. question for you Joe Joe I want to like. when I watch you play and I've told Pat. and the boys this many times like you. look so comfortable in the pocket. Standing Tall so patient looks like you. have like he there's no worries I'm just. going to go through my progressions here. we go get the ball out to whoever's open. like is that in reality how you feel. because because that's what it looks. like and how is that compared to maybe. early on in your career yeah I think. sometimes that's probably the truth but. it's definitely not all the time I try. to put on a you know a good face and um.

trick myself into thinking that's the. case because you know when you do feel. comfortable in the pocket when you trick. yourself into feeling like hey I got. this and I'm G to be able to get the. ball out go through my progressions. that's when your mind's at best to. actually do those things when all of a. sudden there's a little bit of like you. know you're you're not sure whether a. guy's coming free or uh if the guys are. going to do the job if you start. thinking about those things well now. you're always going to you're always. going to speed things up you're not. going to see things as well you're going. to be moving your feet way too much um.

and I think it's constantly that you. know that game in your mind that you're. getting yourself to to sit there and. relax and I think when people talk about. the speed of the game it's not that the. game is that much faster it's not that. everybody in the field is that much. faster I mean there are guys that are. faster and all those things but it's. making the moment too big that usually. speeds things up I mean anytime we all. do something for the first time it. usually seems way faster than it. actually is and that's because our brain. scrambled we're not seeing it for what. it is so you just kind of have to.

constantly remind yourself of that how. often over the last two years uh you. know Andes with Browns here with Colts. have you seen anything new how much is. your recall is happening with these. defenses legit I think Aaron told us one. time Dorne and Aaron Rogers Tuesday he. saw a defense and he was like I thought. back to 2006 when I saw the same are are. you similar is that is that type of. thing no it's funny how defense has kind. of come full circle I mean and you know. when I first come into the league. they're doing this and now I feel like. they're kind of going back to more.

traditional type stuff but they do do. some things on third down that maybe you. haven't seen before and and all those. things um I think what happens as you. get in as you're in the league longer. you understand the things that you need. to pay attention to and and the things. that are just kind of eye candy and. they're there to distract you and and. get you off your your base you know what. I mean like as long as you have a good. idea of what those safeties are doing. and are guys pressed are they playing. man um you know you can rely on those. simple Basics to play Fast football you.

got a lot of dudes walking by you during. that adidi inter uh interview from. show up on Sundays and be ready to go no. matter what it's an awesome combination. right now and they're a lot of fun to. kind of play with I mean they're. constantly coming up to you on the. sideline and you know say hey how about. this I I could have this or hey thanks. for trusting me on that one so it's been. a lot of fun yeah Alec Pierce obviously. watching him Blossom and go get it like. what everybody's kind of talked about. happening in practices we're seeing it. games down a lot of fun the Pitman Jr. stuff he was going to IR last week that. that's what that was the news that was. legit right that that was kind of what. was happening was can you explain that.

from your situation or your Vantage. listen I I think we were kind of just. waiting you know I I I saw him in the. training room a little bit and doing his. thing and and getting prepared and and. taking notes in the meeting room and all. that stuff so you know I did see I think. I woke up in one one morning and was. looking at scores or something and saw. Pitman out two weeks or whatever I saw. but man that listen that's what football. is all about I mean it's going out there. and playing in in in that kind of shape. understanding that you know hey I I feel.

like I can go I'm gonna do it if I feel. like I can go I'm gonna go show up for. my team and listen that's what makes. really good teams and like those are the. kind of guys you need to put your team. together with and did the respect that. you gain in that locker room. um I don't think it gets talked about. enough I mean there you know there's I. think there's a lot of times where guys. get hurt and they feel like it's going. to affect their contract or you know. affect different things and sometimes it. does and I think wrongfully so I think.

being tough in this sport is still. probably the most important thing in. terms of in terms of being successful so. hell yeah hell yeah Joe hey that was a. good speech yeah guys were scared to put. bad tape out there that's real though. Joe guys like I don't want to put any. bad tape out there especially like. contracts I'm like man that's I don't. know I get both sides of it yeah because. I guess I've seen hurt guys you know and. NFL by the. way in the NFL um and I said last week. that this is the best Joe Flaco ever. played in his entire career I said. besides the 2012 playoff run which was. unbelievable um but would you agree or. disagree that this is some of the best. football that you've played in your. career it's a tough question and I think. there's multiple parts to that I mean. listen I think if you go if you're.

looking at statistics then I'm not going. to argue you you know I think that's. probably true um I do also think as you. get older I mean it is a position that. if you can keep yourself in shape you. should get better at so I I would say. that I I have gotten better I hope I've. gotten better over the years um on the. other side of that though um you know in. Baltimore we weren't always playing that. style man I mean we were we were making. sure that we were the physical. domination you know we we were that. physical team that was going to come in.

and impose our will and when it got late. and it wasn't always about going out and. throwing for 300 yards and doing those. things it was about playing good. football and really inflicting our style. of pain on teams and I think you can see. the success that they kind of have with. that style and then as especially as it. gets late in the year um when you have. to play tough defenses week in and week. out that style definitely kind of comes. to light and you can see more of that. but I I you know listen like I said it's. it's it's there's a couple things to it.

if you look at the stats for sure man I. mean I'm playing my best ball but I. think there's a lot more to it than that. at the end of the day yeah playing. winning football is a big deal and uh. agreeing to do that as opposed to just. running up stats is obviously a. personality trait that we appreciate the. [ __ ] out of go uh certainly do and you. talked about Baltimore and their style. of play and everything like that I don't. know how they're allowed to get Derk. Henry I don't know how I don't know how. you know I don't know how that was that. was allowed that that should have been. one of those ones where the commissioner.

yeah Flaco's definitely spinning it. that's why you got to stick with him. like cuz I understand like the want AR. to play and everything but you guys talk. about it all the time like when you can. win like the guys in that locker room. like you think they they they want to go. Flo under spending so you want to win. now development is great for the long. term but potential potential gets. [ __ ] fire every year and that's. how coaches and teammates feel you know.
