The Pat McAfee Show Live | Monday October 12th 2026
Hey, hey, hey. You make me want you. Put my hands up. Keep my heels up all again now.
USA, USA, USA. Yeah.
Come on in. a a.
Woo!
The following program is a collection of. stooges talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic. informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans is the real. world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further.
>> Hey, >> let's go. >> This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. >> McAfee on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers. >> You can't. stutter. >> DAMN IT. >> YOUR FRIEND, tell a friend something. nice could change their life.
Hello beautiful people and welcome to. another massive overreaction Monday. October 12th 2026. This football program begins right now. >> Football. is the greatest and I am so lucky that. I'm back here at Sofi Stadium. I've had. the incredible opportunity to do so many. things in here. I've seen a Wrestlemania. in here. I've seen Monday Night Football. in here. I've seen a World Cup game in. here. And tonight, I have a chance to.
watch maybe the uh most prolific. offenses in the NFL duel on a Monday. Night Football as the Bills travel to. town to take on the Los Angeles Rams and. wrap up this electrifying week five of. the NFL season. Now, it's not just going. to be about what's happening tonight, although there will be plenty of takes. Dan Olowski will join us in the second. hour. He's already said some things this. morning that we're going to have to. follow up on. There's also a lot to. react to from week five NFL Sunday. slate. There's a couple five and 0's. There's a few 0 and fives. Then there's.
a ton of what the hell's going to happen. this season for you. There's a couple. two and three, three and two teams that. might end up with a full clean of the. house at the end of the season and maybe. go on to win the Super Bowl. Couple. teams statistically eliminated. Never. been happen before. Sorry about it. a. lot of high hopes and expectations in a. couple towns and after week five, it's. already over. Looking towards the draft, but then there's some teams that are. dominating everybody every single week. We're so incredibly lucky that we get a. chance to talk about ball every single. day. I'm here in SoFi in Los Angeles.
Had a fantastic weekend in Tuscaloosa. and the boys are back in the. Thunderdome, including college football. national champion, Super Bowl champion, Ryder Cup winner, ladies and gentlemen, AJ Haw. >> Hawker, great weekend of ball. Thank you. for traveling to Indianapolis. Is there. uh anything that kind of sticks out. about where the state of football is. right now in your mind, AJ? >> I mean, I think the state of football is. is in a great spot right now. I think. the unpredictability of college and NFL. football is something that sticks out to. me. Like, how do you pick a winner? We. don't know week to week who is going to.
show up. I think so. That's what I'm uh. I guess most intrigued by and I cannot. wait to see how the rest of this season. plays out. >> Yeah, it feels like this has been an. unpredictable year. It's tough to. forecast. Now, you've been doing it much. better than me though, sir. I I will. have you know it's been tough for me to. figure out what's going on, but your gut. instinct is feeling it. I like that. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on. what's going to happen tonight. The. toxic table is here and I think they're. in a much better mood at Boston Connor. and Ty Schmidt, your teams. Hey, >> how to be happy Monday.
See you Tuesday. Woo! >> It's crazy what a win can do by a bunch. of dudes that you've never met before on. a football field, but that is life in. the football season. Let's go to one. half of the hammer. Don. >> Cowboys AP Town, what a Monday. Hey, CONGRATULATIONS. >> That feels good. >> It's a jolly old Monday here on the Pat.
McAfee program. nine-year NFL vet, >> a stud, a man who has 10 different. teams, a lot of them losing. Ladies and. gentlemen, Daryl watching. >> Had to be here. >> Glad to be here. On to next week. >> Yeah. On to next week. There's a lot of. teams that you've put your uh bandwagon. behind that have uh kind of gone in the. dumps. I don't like what they're saying. about it, D, but they're saying maybe, you know, maybe. maybe if you're a fan. >> Oh, no. >> Is that what they're saying? Oh, is that.
what you're saying? >> That's not fair. That's That's not I. mean, I picked up a new team, the. Chicago Bears. Everyone was crowning. them. Ben Johns. Hey, I can play. quarterback. We can go put up 38. You. know, we'll talk about it later. >> Gump can play quarterback, you know. I. dropped the Chargers. You're not the. only one. >> Thank God I did that. Dolphins still. haven't won a damn game. Colts. >> might not. >> Do we ever beat the Steelers? I mean, it's ugly out here right now, man. >> Yeah. And then Eagles, you know, your. team. >> I mean, I actually celebrated that win.
for 30 seconds. >> Well, you weren't the only one. The. coaches were too. I don't know if you. saw everybody was seemingly celebrating. >> That was a wild uh turn of events. I. can't believe the NFL is having those. situations happen in 2026 with all the. information. And let's not even talk. about NFC East football. Let's not even talk about the end of. that, D. But you're not the only one. they're saying is better. I became a. Seahawks fan. >> Oh, >> remember? >> Mhm. And then look, this happens. It. didn't happen all last year. And then. I'm a Colts fan obviously cuz I live in. Indianapolis. I'm a season ticket.
holder. They're two and 10 in the last. 12. >> What? >> Two and 10 in the last 12. >> Hard to win games. >> Hard league. >> It's not about us though. It's not just. about us, but it's about what happened. on the field. It's about the top five. Top five. Top five in our eyes from the. week five NFL. Now number five is uh. driven by Ram, by the way. If you need. to pull something or just drive around. town, a Ram truck is the right thing for. you. And when you hop in there and you.
turn that son thing on, I didn't want to. say some because I don't know, you. know, the mother or father of these Ram. trucks. I don't want to get into but. whenever you hit that gas pedal, there's. only one sound you're going to hear and. it's going to be. that diesel engine ready to go wherever. it needs to go. Let's go to our top five. starting with five. Five and Oh yeah. 49ers and Vikings are on top of the NFL. Now, the Minnesota Vikings, we had Kevin. Okonnell on last week, 4-0. Everybody. was wondering if they were a real 4-0 or.
if they were maybe the worst 4-0 team. that the NFL has had in some time. Offensively, they hadn't been able to. cook at all. But all Kevin Oonnell said. was, "We knew there was going to be a. little bit of a grace period with Kyler. Murray coming in." Well, Kyler Murray. has his best game as a Minnesota Vikings. quarterback. Justin Jefferson goes crazy. whenever people were wondering if he was. even going to play in this game. He goes. back to Louisiana. Give me that. And the. offense looks like it could potentially. be prolific and everything that Kevin. Oonnell, the offensive guru, had been. forecasting could potentially come to. fruition because Kyler Murray can make.
plays that other quarterbacks can't, especially quarterbacks that have been. in the system in prospered before. I. don't know if we need to just focus on. the offense and Kyler having his best. game as a Viking. I think we need to. turn this thing to the defensive side. Debbut, this Vikings defense is. dictating games. We haven't seen this in. some time. And they're saying this guy. blitzed at a 90% clip yesterday against. Shook Debbut. >> Yeah. And you can only do it if it. works. And yeah, you called him shook. He was shook all day long. 96 yards.
passing. This was a guy that they had no. run game. So you expected Tyler Shook to. go out there and toss the ball around. 96 yards passing, only like 142 total. yards on offense. So you talking about. an absolute drumming. And yeah, I think. assistant coach of the year. It's a lot. for Brian Flores. And I absolutely love. KOC, former teammate. Brian Flores might. be the damn coach of the year this year. with what he's doing with this defense. Be five and0 and the offense finally. kind of catching up. If this offense can. click along with this defense, it's. going to be a scary scary team. But what. Flores is doing with these guys down.
there, B Murphy, two interceptions, unbelievable performance. Dallas Turner, the edge defenders, turn into a. superstar right before our eyes. Man, I. love everything I'm seeing from this. Minnesota defense. >> Yeah, these both of these teams are. obviously in the NFC. Let's go to the. ners who started their season down under. and dominated the Los Angeles Rams. So. much so that the Rams said, "We question. every decision we made. We're going to. go ahead and bury the ball and move. along." They've continued what Brock. Party's been able to do. What this. entire defense has been able to do, four. turnovers yesterday, two picks, two.
fumble recoveries to Sam Darnold and. Seattle Seahawks offense. Now, this was. legendary game. Very thankful for how. this one turned out in the NFC West. Jackson Smith and Jigba, he's hurt. Oh, he's still scoring touchdowns. And then. the addition of this guy in the. offseason. We talked about it being a. big deal. We thought it was going to be. a big deal. We were very surprised that. the move happened. Mike Evans, perennial. Tampa Bay Buccaneer. Had a thousand. yards with them every single season. Coming out of college all the way in. through last year. He was the Tampa Bay. Buccaneers offense. If you were watching. the game, it's going to be a Mike Evans.
highlight. Unbelievable talent. Picks up. his talents and goes to Santa Clara and. becomes a member of the San Francisco. 49ers. Now Brock Party has a weapon that. he's never had before that the NFL maybe. has never seen before. A first ballot. Hall of Famer. George KD gets back. healthy with the Achilles, has an. illness, has a drop early, still shows. up. Christian McAffreyy's in the back. field. And you have Shanahan's big. brain. It's an insane thought about how. good the NerS are at this stage, especially because Australia was. supposed to mess him up. Yeah, right. 5-0 and rolling. And AJ Mike Evans, I.
think what he has been able to do, he's. catching over the middle. He's running. comebacks. He's getting popped. He's. taking a roof off. It has been special. to watch him get added into this. Shanahan offense, AJ. >> Yeah, it has. And I think in the biggest. moments is when he steps up the most and. that's when you need him. I know in this. game they went on what 12play drive, I. believe, 74 yards, took seven minutes. towards the end. They were down 26-21. heading into that drive. Mike Evans, I. think, had three gigantic catches. throughout this drive. And as well, he. caught the two-point conversion once. they punched it into Brandon Cook. So, I.
just think when you hear his teammates, too, if you've seen some of the. comments, his teammates are when they're. talking about Mike Evans, like they're. they're looking at this guy like he's. Michael Jordan. Like, they're in awe of. him. And Fred Warner's talking about. being on the sidelines and say, "Wow, we. got we really got Mike Evans on our. squad." Like, the the confidence I think. that that can trickle down through the. rest of the team and the coaching staff, it's just gigantic. And it's it's fun to. see Mike Evans still doing it at such a, you know, not an advanced age, but this. guy's been doing What year is this now. for him? >> 37.
13, I believe. Yeah, something like. that. He He comes out of the 2014 draft. So, I think the San Francisco 49ers, they're they're on to something. We know. their defense is unbelievable. Fred. Warner continues to do it. Green Law, >> I love, you know, we we got to control. our emotions, but I love you're always. on the line. You're always right at the. toe of the line. And I appreciate that. about him and this whole defense. But. Mike Evans, man, special special player. I think San Fran, he's just kind of. scratching the surface as to what he. could do this year. >> This wasn't the best part we've got for. Mike Mike Evans either. Obviously, tremendous on the field, but he gave.
some elite elite trolling with. this. Yeah, you got to you got to fight. with somebody D like that. >> I mean, just so public of what he was. saying, I mean, anytime you can. nonverbal talk, that's good, you. know, and everybody on earth knew. exactly what Mike Evans was doing. If. this is anybody other than a first. ballot hall of famer, which Mike Evans. is, I don't think it obviously hits as. hard. Trvon Dig has had great years in. the NFL. >> Yeah. So him getting punked out like.
that publicly special and uh how much. everybody Trevon Diggs by the way we. have respect Seattle Seahawks by second. team I didn't like that he did this to. us I didn't like that he did this to us. but he certainly did it and a lot of. people seen it and then con man we. talked about it when it happened there's. going to come a time this season where. Mike Evans is going to go off and have. like 200 yards is what we say it's going. to be San Francisco 49er we're going to. say we can't believe that they that they. got the deal done and he left Tampa Bay. it's paying off already George KD saying. Mike Evans is uh really good at.
football. It's happening early and it's. going to be a mainstay if we know. anything about the way Mike Evans's. career has gone. Con man. >> Oh yeah, for sure. And this is something. that we probably should have even talked. about more when it first happened, but. AJ mentioned it there with Brandon. Cooks. Like the Niners lead the league. in players on IR and PUP. Like what. Shanahan's doing with the guys that he. has and the guys that he's just bringing. in, you know, use check, he's not. playing right now. That's huge for the. run game, losing him, having Brandon. Cooks slide in there and just basically.
seemingly getting the offense right away. for Shanahan, having guys step up. And. Perie's also damn near the MVP right. now. So, what the Niners are doing is. fantastic with how banged up they are, too. >> Yeah, I um I really like the way these. two teams are playing football. I Is it. sustainable, Tone? What do the odds say. about being sustainable starting out. 5-0? One team went undefeated, the 1972. Dolphins. But also. >> the teams that let's go back in time, Miami. Let's live that a little bit.
>> We're having a good time. That's tough. Miami fans have had a tough go. Hey, Dump. How you doing, man? You all right, buddy? >> Yeah, rookies are playing well. Malik. Willis, we could probably use a little. bit more from him, but the rookies are. still playing well. >> You were banging the drum on Malik. Willis. Remember Malik Willis took his. jacket off during the Indianapolis. combine and gave it to somebody else. live on street. >> That's right. >> That was cool. when he was with the. Green Bay Packers, he was spectacular. He was going to be great for you guys. I. don't like that you seemingly have given. up with him on him in just five weeks. >> Uh second half, he was good. First half,
he seems to want to be a pocket passer. and floating the ball around. Uh it's. not really working out. >> Gumpy said the reason why you got paid. the amount of money you got paid is. because how good you are running, too. So, we can't just get the big paycheck. and then not want to run and take any. hits anymore. Is what Gumpy said. But. Gumpy, let's go back to the 1972. Dolphins. Only undefeated team. They get. a chance to celebrate all the time. Do. we know anything about teams that start. 5-0? How likely they are to make Super. Bowl? How likely they are to win Super. Bowl? And I guess 17 game season. different than 16 game season, but we've.
always been told the teams that win. start the season well as well. How well. do they normally start the season, Tony? Do we have that info? >> Yeah, so it's uh 90% of the time these. teams make the playoff. Uh 32% of the. time these teams make the Super Bowl. Uh. there's only been a couple times uh. where these teams didn't do well. The. 2015 Falcons, the 2016 Minnesota. Vikings. Shout out those two teams. Uh. but no, normally. >> Steelers, Steelers are on there. >> The 11-0 Steelers. Uh maybe uh they made. the playoffs. They were okay. Uh they.
did not make the Super Bowl. Uh but no, in these situations, 90% of the time. you're going to make the playoffs. 30%. of the time you're going to make the. Super Bowl. Right now, the Vikings, or. sorry, the Niners are minus 2500 to make. the playoffs. The Vikings are - 450 to. make the playoffs. So the book's not as. uh sold on the Vikings probably because. of the offense. Um, but pretty high. chances these teams are going to be in. the playoffs. >> Yeah, and uh that's good news. Kevin. Okonnell with Kyler Murray only getting. better. Kevin Oonnell was very confident. last week on the show talking about what. it's going to become and I don't think. he comes on the show if he doesn't feel. good about what it's going to become.
Congrats to them over there and to. Shanahan and Brock Pury who might have. taken on a little bit more ownership of. offense and team with the entire. offseason that happened with coach. Shanahan. Happy they're moving. Now. let's go to number four. What are the. odds on losing a game when you have the. lead with 8 seconds left? Seems like. this season low. This season very low. If you get a lead with less than 10. seconds left, you better hold on to your. Anything can happen in the NFL. And at 9:30 when these games kick off. Eastern time in the morning. We were.
blessed with another absolute thriller. 8 seconds left. Let's kick it off. ABDUL. >> RIGHT THROUGH THE LINE. GETS ALL THE WAY. INTO FIELD GOAL RANGE. HOW MUCH time's. left? 1 second, two seconds. Tell us. there's one. Tell us there's two. Abdullah gets him in range. And then. back up long snapper. >> Deon Hamilton to Logan Cook to Cam. Little. Blast home a 57yd. field goal with the Jude Bellingham. Now.
I would like to talk about Devon. Hamilton. Okay, his name is Deon. Hamilton. I can't believe he did this good. I. can't believe the perfect spirals he was. snapping. Now, Logan Cook, an absolute. beast as a holder and as a punter. You. got to be a great athlete to be able to. do all this And his left foot. almost gets in the way there. So, shout. out to Cam Little having the mental. toughness to get through there. Devon. Hamilton gets a rep probably once a. week, twice a week. And he's What is.
this? He's 6'4, 335 lb tackle. Okay. 335. lbs. He has a little bit of a gut. He's. a little bit of a bigger lad. He's a. defensive tackle. Bending over and I. think Jason Kelsey talked about that. when he got over 300 lb. Bending over. and staying down cuz you have to stay. down or if you come up you're going to. flip it and it's going to go high. So on. a game-winning one, snapping his best. ball, him walking in like that in that. biggest moment, there's no way a. defensive tackle gets to showcase. whether or not he's clutch. And then in. this moment, he gets a chance with.
everybody, all eyes are on him. Hey, Logan Cook is thinking to himself, hey, you get it back here. I'm going to give. us a shot. But at 57 yards, you have to. hit a really good ball. This has to be a. really good operation. And Devon. Hamilton snaps. I think Lacy's back. there to him. His best snap of the day. and the biggest moment. And then Logan. Hook Cook puts it down. And Cam Little. walks this thing off when it still had. 30 yards to travel. One of the one of. the most special special teams plays. I've seen just with a DTackle in there.
snapping the ball and the snap being so. important. not them not being able to. get the edge and then them making the. kick, him walking it off. Special moment. in London. I was very happy for the. Jacksonville Jaguars and Devon Hamilton. I don't know who you guys had as a. backup long snapper. We had a couple. different guys. Jacob Tammy at one point. was a backup long snapper. The current. snapper, Luke Rhodess, was a backup long. snapper whenever he was on practice. squad as a linebacker. Very rarely do. you have to step in there because long.
snappers are so protected these days. They know that. And for him to get that. done in the biggest moment for them to. get a return like that, special teams. wins them a crazy game. AJ, I loved. every I got emotional almost for Devon. Hamilton. It was zoomed in on his face. Hey, this is a 57 yard field goal, bro. Go ahead and sit on that just for a. little bit. And that's like a This is a. jumper. This is a throw. This is a hit. This is That's what that is. He very. rarely ever has to do that. Maybe at. home he's got a good jumper. I'd assume. he's pretty athletic. Maybe he played.
beer pong. He's got to make a final cup, but a DT tackle like clutch moments like. you're trying to move humans. You're not. trying to execute a mechanic. So, I'm so. impressed with this and shout to the. Jags getting another win in London and. then the Philadelphia Eagles are. crumbling AJ Hawk in London. >> Yeah, I don't think they're uh people. aren't real happy with Coach Sriani. right now and the rest of that staff. We. saw a lot of different kind of game. management situations. I'm sure we'll. get into as the day goes. But, uh, this. was a bit shocking and watching it in.
real time, seeing this return, and. they're saying, "Hey, if they tack if. you let him go five more yards and you. tackle him, game's over. You win the. game." Like, obviously, you don't in the. moment. If you're making that tackle, you're not going to calculate that and. do the math. But, I just think obviously. the fact that you kicked it to him, all. of it. There's They're going to be. questioning this for years to come. I. think. >> Debbut, this is like you you got to. throw a strike. >> I mean, >> like or you kick it out. They got no. timeouts. Yeah, that's that's the thing. >> That's the difference, I think. Go. ahead. >> Yeah, we saw with Lamar earlier in the. year when they had a timeout, got it, and got it down. But them not having.
timeouts, you want to just kick this in. the end zone and make him kind of do a. hook and lateral gimmick to try to get. it done. But at the end of the day, Mike. Tomlin said it last night on Sunday. Night Football. As players, you got to. cover a kick. That's just the National. Football League. You you were specialist. for a long time. You know, you got to. get down there and cover a kick. You. tackle this guy on even the 35 to 40. yardd line, uh the chances of you. winning go tremendously up. So, you got. to cover a kick. You're out there in the. field. That's your job. That's the name. of the game. Sirani, I do love when a. coach or quarterback just takes full.
ownership of it. Hey, that's on me. I. got to kick it in the end zone. But as. players, you kind of got to take that. ownership as well. Like, we got to run. down there and make a damn tackle with. the game on the line, man. But yeah, you. you almost go from celebrating that win, not almost, you definitely go from. celebrating the win to seeing some. that you never seen happen before. And. then this kid, I mean, Cam, soon as it. comes off the foot, for him to know it. was perfect. And just do a Steph Curry. walk-off in this type of moment was. unbelievable. >> Cam since he's got in the league has had. a unflapable confidence. He was a. kickoff guy in college. I don't know how.
much. He has a huge leg. It especially. cuz his last name's Little. He's not. like the largest guy. He has a monster. leg. He might hit a 70 yarder if the. conditions are right and he's in Denver. and there's a little bit of a breeze. behind him and they let him do it. this. kid could potentially be the one. And. him making that kick with a backup long. snapper when the timing's off. completely. It's uh it's really cool. Now, Ty, I I know you go through the I. don't want to overreact. but.
>> tweets. Were they kind to Sirani in. Philadelphia or what's the conversation. back home after the game in London town. in Philadelphia? >> No, absolutely not. Uh they've been done. with Sirriani for a couple weeks now. So, this is kind of just another, you. know, little bit of icing on the cake. And you know, Debbut said, "Hey, I love. how, you know, he he goes up there in. front of the media and kind of takes. ownership." It seems like Eagles fans. are kind of sick and tired of that. because he's done that a couple weeks in. a row now, and it's kind of like, "Hey, how long is this guy going to go up and. basically just say, I fumbled the game. I messed up big time. I need to be.
better. I won't do it again." Uh, so. yeah, a lot of people are calling for. Sirriani's job today, and they're. basically saying like, "Hey, Holly, let's go. Okay, we no time to waste now. Everything's crumbling. We don't need to. finish the season with 14 losses. Get. rid of this guy. >> Z, what did the J say? They said, "Yeah, this guy's proving our point. It is his. fault that this team stinks." What were. they saying about that? Every time he. gets up there and says, "That one's on. me. That one's on me." The Jons go, "Exactly." That's what we've been. saying, Howie. Is that the accurate. depiction of what they've been saying?
>> Yeah. In so many words, they've. basically, you know, reiterated what. that guy said last week. Like, coach. Sirriani once again messes things up for. the teenth time. So yeah, that is almost worth what they. kind of nickname. >> Couple nicknames I believe I saw. >> Oh yeah. You know, >> I thought he got bin Laden. >> He did. How do you Osama bin Yani is. what they're calling him today. I don't. love it. I don't love it. >> Yeah, but it's been sitting there his.
whole time. I know. So, I think we were. all pretty surprised whenever we saw it. But hey, that's life in the NFL. They. could rattle off a bunch of wins and. they'd still be saying that about them. Okay. That that's that's the fun thing. about Philadelphia. Yep. All right. Sweet. Let's go to uh. let's go to the number three headline, shall we? AJ, this is an exciting one. The Steelers clean their house and. Rogers is rolling. Rogers now has done. something that people in Pittsburgh.
haven't done uh other than like two. times in its history. >> Rogers now has three plus touchdowns. thrown in three straight games. They. went back to Terry Bradshaw and Ben. Rothersberger to try to find times in. which a quarterback has done this. Pat. Frymouth has already been paid, but he. hasn't really been weaponized by the. Pittsburgh Steelers. And Jaylen Warren, same exact situation with the Pittsburgh. Steelers. They have career days. Jaylen. Warren's leading the NFL in yards. And. Aaron Rogers after the game is saying, "He's a guy everybody loves and he's a. special talent. We need to be getting. him the ball." First and 10, first.
quarter. Colts don't do anything with. it. Send it to him. Don't worry, Jaylen. Warren will take this thing 80 yards. Absolutely absurd start for their. offense. And that type of stuff really. puts Aaron, I think, in a zone. I think. whenever the when he sees one go in. early, I think it only continues to. rattle and roll. And that's what. happened yesterday against this Colts. defense who hasn't been the best. certainly. And the Colts offense. certainly not fantastic at times. And. we're certainly in trouble. And we're. only two wins in our last 12 games. but.
happy for the Pittsburgh Steelers to. clean their house. Now, AJ got a chance. to talk to uh source. sis. >> close in there and uh JJ Watt said this. live on the broadcast and I think it was. reiterated. >> half hour in the Pro Bowl is what. everybody in the Pittsburgh Steelers. current operation views it as. This guy. should be weaponized and with Mount. Washington on the other side, he demands. some attention. So, the tight end group. can only get better and better, and I.
think they're only going to get. weaponized. And then Jaylen Warren, from. our understanding from source, sis, >> close to the situation. This guy is. everything you want in a football. player. One-on-one's protecting the. quarterback. He'll go ride, riddle, right to bottom. He is. He wants the. smoke. He's in the smoke. He loves his. teammates. He has juice every single. day. He's been around the Steelers. organization for some time and I don't. want to toot our own horns. I don't like. doing that because we obviously get a.
lot of things wrong whenever you're. living in daily sports world with the. information that you have at the time. But every time Jaylen Warren has gotten. the ball over the last four or five. years, he has been spectacular with it. He always provides juice. So now him. becoming a focal point of an offense, especially for Aaron Rogers when they. got some injuries at wide receiver, I. don't think this is going to slow down. AJ, do you think they're just getting. started over there? Do you think they're. going to get figured out? What are your. thoughts on this Pittsburgh Steelers. offense that the city of Pittsburgh. hasn't seen really ever in this time?
>> I think the Pittsburgh fans, and I know. just judging off of Tone's demeanor from. when I walked in this morning, they got. a little pep in their step. And I think. it's because they are we're kind of. we're seeing him push the ball down the. field. We're seeing Aaron throw the ball. over the middle. We're seeing him scheme. people up a little bit. I think that's. amazing. When you see Jaylen Warren. early in the game, you throw a little. dump down to him and he goes 70 yards. plus. Aaron has a little ry smile on his. face. He's kind of smirking like, "Hey, here we go. I know it's all at the 70. yard TD in the book, but right here like. what a laser across the middle. These. are not easy balls and I feel like.
Aaron's getting rid of the ball quickly. Look as we have empty formations at. times like they are moving around. I. think Aaron, they mentioned it during. the broadcast too, he may have told JJ. beforehand, he feels as good as he has. felt in in a long time. So this play. right here, I think, is when Jay started. referencing this. Yeah. As he's as he's. getting out of the pocket here, making. things happen. Allah Aaron Rogers like. 2012 pretty much. >> Yeah. Why? How's he allowed to do this. still? How is this even possible? >> You got to go upfield shoulder. You. know, you're facing an athlete like. that. I got If I'm rushing, I got to go. upfield shoulder so he can't escape out.
here. >> You see HIM SKIPPING? GO BACK TO the end. of that. Even he knew how absurd that. was. Third and two, fourth quarter, two-point game. If you go back to the. end of that thing, he's looking back. Look at him looking back. Who knows? He's looking at Mike McCarthy going. press play. Oh yeah, that was absurd. What a ball. Look at him. Watch him in. the corner here. >> Are you kidding me? This guy's 42 YEARS. OLD. HE MIGHT AS WELL BE a hundred in. NFL years. He looks bright. I think that. all comes from like a confidence in what. the offense can be, what it should be. Stepping up and throwing that. It's also.
the protection tone. I think that's a. big deal here now. They have an. offensive line that's worth a damn. Is. that how you Yzers are viewing it? And. how do you feel on this beautiful. overreaction Monday? I didn't get a. chance to fully experience you. potentially happy as an NFL Steelers. fan. >> Yeah, feeling great. And my apologies. I. thought my mic was muted. just cleared. my throat directly into that a couple. minutes ago. Um, feeling great this. morning. Um, as you talked about the. offensive line change, so the first two. games against the Falcons and then the. Patriots that that like that the. offensive line was very, very bad. Then.
they changed the right guard, right. tackle. So the last three games they're. averaging 29 points per game, which is. good for six in NFL. Uh, they're. averaging over 350 yards a game. They've. done that all three of the last three. games. They only did that three times. last year. They've scored over 30 points. twice now. They only did that three. times last year. The highest they've. been as an offense in total offense the. last seven years was 23rd. So like now. that we're seeing this and we're seeing. points and we're seeing them convert on. third downs before this M youth. touchdown that they're throwing right.
now. They went for it on a fourth and. two that last year surely would have. been a field goal attempt in that. situation. So Big Mike's doing things. that we haven't seen in a long time. It. just feels really good because it feels. like we're finally in the 20 2020s as. far as NFL offense is concerned. Jaylen. Warren number three in in the league as. far as total yards behind Bejon um and. Gibbs. So he's been unbelievable. Number. one in yards after contact. Yeah, it. feels really good now that the O line's. playing, Rogers is playing, joining Ben. and Terry, things are feeling really, really good around a steel time.
>> Now D, but with Aaron throwing the ball. down the field in a back that's. explosive that puts the defense in a. bind and can get far behind or are we. worried about the Colts defense in. general? >> Uh definitely worried about the Colts. defense in general. You want a stud, you. want to start, they kind of limit only. had a few big like explosive plays. You. saw the Warren a couple to Warren and. the one to Bernard late. So limited. explosive plays, but offensively weren't. able to run the ball. So yeah, definitely have some concerns about the. Colts offense, but yeah, the Steelers. offense. You talked about the O line. AQ.
had a bunch of questions about them. coming into the season and now they made. some significant changes. They're. playing much better. I would be worried. about them even getting better because. DK Metave haven't kind hasn't kind of. taken that real lid off the defense. So, when you have to worry about number four. out there going deep and then 30 being. explosive, that's when they can really. get ugly. Kind of like the old days with. AB and Le'Veon Bell on that offense. But, I can't believe Aaron is moving. around as well as he can. A AJ talked. about that this play right here, the. upfield. You're not thinking about the. upfield shoulder. Think about a 42y old.
statue quarterback, but he's still doing. his old And you see the little old. man grin after like he got away with. something. So big time players, man. I I. like what they're doing right now. >> Ty Aaron knew he was coming into his. final year here. Yeah. You know, it's. been pretty well documented. He's in uh. hopefully pre-reg right now. He's been. open. >> what is that pre-reg? >> It's like phase zero. >> I haven't heard that term. >> It's like phase zero. You're just you're. just banging getting ready. >> Oh, is that right?
>> I don't know. He said like this next. year he'll have a kid or like or will be. expecting a child. So we have to. congratulate him on it. >> on pre. Exactly. >> Yeah. >> For him. >> This is twinkling. Okay. >> That's what I'm saying. So he came into. the year. >> in pre-reg but also everybody kind of. knowing that he was done. I think that. can rally a locker room. Actually I. think that can rally a locker room but I. think it can bring out the best in Aaron. especially. Yeah. Here we go. Al Michael.
says on Anvil Prime, Aaron Rogers told. them a year from now he'll either be. tending to his pregnant wife or he'll be. taking care of his face in pre-reg. So. we are very happy for him. We are very. excited for him and we are wishing them. >> confirmed. Have you confirmed this quote. from Aaron? Cuz a lot of these. announcers are just getting in the booth. just spewing now. They're saying. and they're coming out next. >> I wouldn't do that. Make that up. Debut. >> I'm just I just want to know if you. heard it from Aaron. I'm tired. I'm. tired of middlemen. All right. Well, I. should. >> I like I said Aaron Flowers for no.
reason in a phys. >> Well, I did he respond AJ? Maybe you can. get to the bottom of the pre-reg thing, but God Aaron Rogers like the retirement. year. I think it matters cuz I think. there have been so many questions and I. don't want to say he was ever half in or. half out, but maybe he had been mentally. or even physically going into a season. It felt pretty early in this off season, everybody knew this was his final thing. and he was going to give it everything. he had. I think that's a weapon for the. Steelers as well, Ty. >> Yeah, I I would agree. Kind of just like.
a sense of clarity almost that we've. kind of talked about that he's had the. last couple years. But I think I mean he. told us too that a massive part of that. cuz he was kind of, you know, ba. basically deciding if he did want to. just retire or come back and then they. hire big Mike and it's like, okay, done. deal. like and not that he feels like he. has unfinished business with him because. they want a Super Bowl, but there's got. to be something comforting in knowing, hey, I can tell this guy exactly what I. want to say and and he doesn't have to. worry about, you know, what's being. reported in the media because they're. very good with how their relationship.
is. That's why both of them kind of. just, you know, last week when they're. they're yelling at each other on the. sideline, it's just like whatever, you. know. M Big Mike says that's a love. language in Pittsburgh. You know, it's. like these guys actually do love each. other and I think they cherish and. relish the opportunity to kind of turn. back the clock a little bit and and make. another run at it because he hasn't had. an offense like this since, you know, you know the like what maybe 5 years ago. in Green Bay. Yeah, exactly. 20 Yeah. 2020. >> Says Aaron Rogers has three plus pass.
TDs in three straight games for the. first time since his 2021 MVP season. with the Packers. And it felt like that. whenever I was watching yesterday. And. that little scamper, I didn't love it. The Colts are two and 10. >> Yikes. >> In her last 12. >> on the up and up, >> man. >> The offense looked solid for for a good. portion of that game. >> Yeah, I understand what you're saying. They're solid, solid, solid, solid, solid, solid. >> Tyler Warren. >> Yeah, Tyler Warren's great. >> Give you a third for him.
>> John Whoa, we're not dealing yet. Ah, maybe Jonathan Taylor unbelievable at. football. I don't like, now listen, I. didn't love the way Jonathan Taylor. decided to handle um how he got his last. contract with everything going on with. the Colts after having the number four. overall pick with a first year head. coach, first year quarterback, him being. by far our best player and how, you. know, the training camp went down. He. gets the deal. Congrats to him on. getting that done. Since then and before. then, what Jonathan Taylor is on a.
football field is. he's. he's criminally undertalked about and. undervalued, but it's because the Colts. never win anything. We never win. anything. Debo, we're never going to win. anything. What are we never going to win. anything ever again? 12 years AFC South. I mean, we have a good team. I thought. Dimes was it. I thought Dimes was it. He. led us to the number one offense last. year. He's coming back. We traded away. Michael Pitman. Don't like that at all. don't like that at all. We pay Alec. Beers. He's hurt. He can't play. We got.
an offensive line that I think we like. We got a tight end that I think we like. We put a lot of money into the defense. A lot of money. There's a lot of money. in this roster. The expectation should. be high. WHAT IS GOING WHY do we stink? I don't like it. I don't like it. One. big thing. >> That's a That's a That's a huge huge. question. And look, Carly's on the. sideline every game trying to figure it. out. She's in practice trying to figure. it out. You know what? I got faith in. Carly and the girls to figure it out and. get this thing turned around. So, no, I. don't think we're going to stink. forever. You know, there was a time.
where the Colts stunk before Payton got. here and then things got on up and up. Uh maybe Danny Dimes is still the guy. You know, maybe maybe we just got to get. healthy. Maybe a lot of things got to. happen, but um right now it's ugly, but. we are two and three and it's early, but. we can still make it. >> What was the last year you felt great. about the Colts? What was the last great. year you had last year? >> Last year, the start. >> Yeah, you're right. We start full year. He's talking about. >> I mean like at end of the season you're. like you know what that was a pretty uh. you know pretty solid season for these. guys. >> Phil Rivers lost to Buffalo by three. points in the playoffs.
>> Knew we had no chance of winning the. Super Bowl but got the dancing uh do or. die moment with. >> Lux last year cuz he had he had a very. very good year. Then obviously he. retired that preseason the following. year. But at least me as a fan like oh. you know protect the luck. >> We don't need a follow season left. >> Hey that's the answer. That's the last. time AJ. Great question. And they got. the Titans next week. >> Yeah. Get a good draft pick maybe. >> Holy hell. They're in trouble. I think I. I think they're We are too. Let's not. get crazy. But there is some real.
problems down. Let's go get a number two. headline. We get the Steelers for Tone. then, ladies and gentlemen. Drake may be. all the way back and so is the Pack. >> Toxic Table. Congrats to you lads. Okay. Just congratulations to you guys. We'll. start with you Boston Connor and the New. England Patriots. I do think you always. thought that Drake would be able to get. out of the funk that he was in and the. Patriots would be able to be good. I. don't know if we all expected it to. happen as overnight as it seemingly has.
happened, but a huge win over the. Raiders. Vinitary goes into the Ring of. Honor. He talks some does his. thing. Feels like the Patriots all the. way back to where you guys were at the. end of last season when he thought you. could potentially win the Super Bowl. Where are you at mentally as a Patriots. fan after a dominating performance? >> Yeah, I think it's even better than last. year. That was yesterday was the best. Drake May game, you know, I think we've. ever seen. Talking about the Colts and. all these other teams. I feel bad for. people who are fans of teams that don't. have a Hall of Fame quarterback. It It. really must suck because what we watched.
yesterday was insane. No AJ Brown. He's. done. Romeo Dobs only had one catch for. 16 yards. This guy threw for 374 yards. and four touchdowns. Like what he's. working with right now as far as weapons. on the outside and even, you know, running the football. Andre's been good, but Trevian got hurt in this game and it. didn't matter. I mean, he was putting. the ball wherever he wanted to. Guys. stepping up. Effan Chism the third. Kyle. Williams here who's basically the number. six wide receiver on the depth chart. He.
went for 391 in a touchdown. Like the. the way that Drake May is playing is. remarkable. We're talking about the. Vegas Raiders, too. Like they were. they're not a bad football team. They're. very good. The teams that New England. has beaten are actually 9 and2 against. everybody else they've played. Like the. Patriots are very, very legit. It was a. tough start to the season, but like you. just said, it has happened overnight. The offensive line has been very good. Will Campbell, he got banged up. Next. man up, first round pick, Caleb Lomu.
came in and he looked great at left. tackle. Hunter Henry's catching. touchdowns. Like it it really is the. best vibes we've probably had since. before the Super Bowl last year. But I. would fully expect to see the Patriots. making a massive run, especially with. the defense they have and how well. they're playing with guys who are hurt. >> We're all really happy for you. >> And then let's talk about the cheese. heads. Ty, what a different vibe I. assume from you on this particular. Monday than those of the past. A lot of.
questions, you know, and Jordan Love is. getting a lot of love right now on the. internet. And a lot of people are. saying, "How come we haven't talked. about Jordan Love the way we deserve to. be talking about Jordan Love?" It's like. because I do think there were some. moments in some games where it's like. are the Packers going to win? Are they. going to lose? They don't make the play. They end up losing. Now they're taking. on the Bears who Ben Johnson could have. anybody play quarterback at an. exceptional level. And you guys bond. them. Absolute drumming of the Chicago. Bears. How's it feel, Ty? And what are. your thoughts right now on this pack? I. like the uniforms as opposed to maybe.
two weeks ago. Ty. >> Yeah, it feels absolutely phenomenal. today. And I think a lot of people, you. know, Packers fans especially have been. like, "Why? why are you being so. negative? And one, it's the. expectations, but two, it's just the way. you feel after watching some of these. games, you know, squeaking past the Jets. in overtime and then Jaylen D uh Daniels. first start. This was the first game of. the year that the Packers felt like they. were ready to play from the first. whistle. They were way more disciplined. And then you mentioned it with with. love. He was just he was on. He was on.
and and Christian Watson has slowly but. surely kind of established himself as. one of the best receivers in the NFL. they they didn't uh they didn't squander. their opportunities. They forced five. Bears turnovers and that was kind of the. issue with the uh the games last year. I. think the Bears in the Ben Johnson era, they've only led the Packers for 1. minute and 45 seconds of game time and. that's over the course of five games, but they've won three of them. And this. is finally, you know, they get out to a. big lead and instead of just run, run,
punt, they continue to be aggressive and. they kept throwing it downfield. Love. was amazing. 26 of 31. This is kind of. the guy everyone expected him to be. coming into this year and the guy that. they needed him to be if they were going. to make a deep run into the playoffs. Matthew Golden's coming into form. Uh so. is Tucker Craft the line block better. And then again the defense you have four. sacks and you and you you know create. five turnovers you're going to win a lot. of football games. So I think at the end. of this run you know even for how bad. it's kind of looked to to kind of cap it.
with this big win over the Bears and now. there is that feeling of okay Micah is. going to be back. They weathered the. storm. So yeah, if you're a Packers fan, me especially, like I'm feeling. phenomenal this morning. >> Uh Ty, whenever you think about Micah. coming back, what's the projections. there? Cuz we heard Dallas Cowboys. Sunday night football matchup and then. there had been like a week ahead, week. behind. What do we He looked like he had. good juice whenever we watched him on. the sideline yesterday. >> So he hasn't practiced. There has been. talk that he's going to practice this. week, but we mentioned it on Friday with.
Rap Sheet. think that uh Schneeedman saw. him at practice on the on the other. field and he was basically running full. speed, but I think it is one of those. things. I mean, we talked about it. You. kind of got to slow roll him. Yeah, it'd. be awesome for him to make his debut. against the Cowboys on Sunday Night. Football, but we saw the way this team. went into the tank when he wasn't fully. healthy. So, whatever it takes for him. to be 100%, whether that's this week on. Sunday Night Football or the following. week against the Lions, but I do think. he's going to be back within the next. week or two. I saw you put him on a.
train on some AI slop. I like. >> had to. I like what you're doing. He is. a choo choo, isn't he? Especially when. he gets on that field. And rest in peace. to Nelson Tobberin. >> That's right. The Nelson Tobberin game. >> Never forget. >> We'll remember him for a long time. >> I can't believe you guys did that to the. Bears. Okay. I can't believe you did. that. I did appreciate the moment of. silence though in Green Bay. Arch rival. Mike Dicka. That was a beautiful moment. Sports are wonderful. And the number one. headline coming out of the week five NFL. Sunday slate. We are back in the pound.
the rock era. Okay, let's talk about 100. yard rushers. Bucky Irving, Brilen. Allen, Aaron Jones, Jaylen Warren, Jamir. Gibbs, Derrick Henry, all a part of. Dubs, all running for over 100 yards. A. position that had kind of been cast. aside for a while in this wide open. throw the ball all over the yard. offense. Running backs are needed, but. mostly out of the back field and little. screens and wheel routes. Now we're back. to pounding the damn ball. And if you. look at some of the college uh.
formations that are happening, it feels. like we're only at the the beginning of. this cycle back into rushing the rock. AJ, I like to see it. I love to see. >> We've been waiting for this, Pat. We've. been waiting for this, haven't we? We've. been talking about like we all. basketball on grass. People used to call. it spread them out. You got to make them. make them defend every blade of grass or. every blade of field turf like everybody. plays on now. So it doesn't apply always. when you say that. But yeah, I think uh. and they made a lot of they were talking. a lot about this uh this Ravens squad. without losing Ricard. How is how are.
they going to be able to run the ball? Are they going to be as physical? And. they showed yesterday that they. definitely can be. But I think when you. like Jir Gibbs, what when you watch. these tailbacks, a lot of them even. their second, third guys sometimes on a. team, they're like they're like. characters from a video game. How they. can move, how powerful they be, how. powerful they are, and also how they. finish. Like Aaron Jones, they got to. run when he finished into the end zone. for the Vikings. Like right here. Like. are you kidding me? He he makes contact. on the four yardd line pretty much and. runs his drives his legs. Like that's a.
clip you show young kids. Hey, you want. to you want to when we talk about. finishing with the ball, that's what we. were talking about right there. Finish. in the end zone on top of this dude. Pause if you need to. Whatever, however. people are speaking. But that's what we. that's what we're looking for when we. talk about physicality. I think. >> people are speaking that way. But we got. we got two more tonight, too. You talk. about obviously the quarterbacks with. Josh Allen, Matt Stafford, both of those. offense kind of start with those run. games with Kyle Williams and then uh. James Cook. So, um yeah, as much as you. talking to these quarterbacks or the.
defenses, defensive coordinators, players over the years, it's always, hey, we got to stop the run. We got to. stop the run first because running the. ball for an offense, that's how you. really control the tempo uh for the. game. That's also how you just destroy. the soul of a defense. If you just can. line up and pound the rock for 30, 40. times with one or two backs that is is. that's terrible. I'd rather that than a. quarterback coming out throwing. for 500 yards, man. So, I can't wait to. see the match up tonight, but yeah, the. running backs are all the way back. >> And it feels like this generation. running backs, to your point, AJ, I. think they like showcasing that they're.
not soft. >> Yep. >> I I think there had been a lot of. comments about maybe the younger. generation and the way football had got. that maybe they're not tough. These. dudes are looking to to hit people. And. I I mean Jeremiah Love is the next one. we all think, right? Going to be if he. can stay healthy. He was looking for. contact in the preseason game. I think. these guys relish that opportunity. I. respect it. I appreciate it. It's going. to put a lot of focal points on. offensive lines and defensive lines as. we get down the stretch into important. games. Joining us now is a man that. might have a little bit more information.
about one particular backfield, maybe. the Philadelphia Eagles backfield as. they have seemingly six guys injured for. at running back position. joining us, senior NFL insider for ESPN and NFL. Network. Ladies and gentlemen, Adam. Sheffent, what's going on? >> Hey, great to see you. Look fantastic. Happy Monday. Can't wait to get your. take on tonight's Monday Night Football. game. Uh, you reported about Will. Shipley suffering a partial tear of his. planer fascia during Sunday's loss to. the Jaguars. I had a Will Shipley. anytime touchdown and Jaguars win. So, I.
really enjoyed the end of that and him. getting the first touchdown for the. Eagles, but they're in trouble in. Philadelphia outside just the running. back position. What are you hearing. around that entire team, Shifty? >> Well, right now they're short-handed. there. You got Will Shipley. Looks like. he's going to miss some period of time. We'll see how long. Obviously, he'll go. through testing. Tank Bsby is on IR. Squan when he ran out of bounds. Obviously, they think it'll be under. four weeks. Otherwise, they would have. put him on IR and they didn't do that.
But again, to think that he'd be back. this week sounds like it would be. ambitious, but let's see how the. practice week goes. And clearly, Will. Shipley won't be there. So, right now, you got Damen Pierce back there in the. back field. It's going to be a situation. where they're going to have to find more. running backs and they're going to be in. a tough spot here as they try to snap. that losing streak that they're. currently on. >> It's getting real loud for Serriani. It's always loud for Siri. Uh any. thoughts on Philadelphia current state. of life? >> You know, listen, that I understand why. you'd say that. These are two tough.
losses. But I also would look at it at. the flip side and say here's a team that. went into London to play the Jaguars. minus Lane Johnson having traded away. Cam Jurgens. No Devonte Smith, no Saquon. Barkley, no Tank Bsby. And they should. have won the game. I mean, they should. have won the game. They had a real. chance to do it and they didn't. So, I I. view it almost in a way where you can. take positive elements. >> Oh, yeah. >> out of a loss that had to be very. disappointing for this team. And they're.
in a division where there wasn't a. single team that won a game this weekend. in the NFC East. The Cowboys got. embarrassed at home Thursday night. They. lose to Tampa and an undrafted free. agent quarterback. You have the. Washington Commanders and Giants playing. to the tie and the Eagles losing in. London to Jacksonville playing a good. game just not getting it done in the. end. >> Yeah, we haven't even touched that. Commanders Giants thing. Hilarious. >> You haven't touched it yet? Oh boy. >> What are you waiting for? What are you. waiting for?
>> Well, just like. >> someone called TIMEOUT. or you know maybe somebody or some group. thinking that there's another overtime. You know, that was kind of my thought is. the way they were acting there so. cavalier and casual. It's like, oh, they. must think that there's another overtime. coming. And I think Dan Orski mentioned. this. A lot of people mentioned like. what is being told to Jaylen Daniels. whenever that whole situation's happened. from a coaching standpoint, but also. Jaylen Daniels, come on, bud. Like we.
view you in such high regard. I think. we're all excited you were back. You. can't not know that as a starting. quarterback in the NFL what the. situation is. I I think that's on Jaylen. and obviously on the coaching staff. And. then for Scataboo, >> what Scataboom doesn't do that ever. I. mean, he he got bailed out with what. Jaylen ended up doing. But Bruce Brown. sent a text in a group. It's like the. fact that Scataboo doesn't have the most. embarrassing and tough play of that. entire game is absurd. Scataboo must be. living right, Bruce. That's the only.
takeaway that I got from this entire. thing. >> Yeah. I mean, it was an incredible. comeback from Jamus to force OT and. then, you know, we had the game one and. it felt like Scataboo had a had a. seasonal altering fumble only to be. outdone by by the Jaden Daniels kind of. brain lock on on the other side. So, uh, grateful to escape with the tie here. after Scaboo seemingly fumbled it away. >> Yeah, Jaden, I apologize. We hold him. and I think I think Jaden is such a good. quarterback and good player that when. I'm watching this happen, I'm just so.
befuddled. I I thought maybe the the. score bug had it wrong on the timeouts. I'm like certainly Fox doesn't know how. many timeouts Jaden knows. So that was. my takeaway. I think we were all. surprised by it. Uh but yeah, the NFC. East football is something Sheffy. >> I I I can tell you that having watched. that play back now a dozen times. roughly, maybe more, I I I think there. are so many confounding elements to it. You have a team that essentially runs a. play. First of all, there were 55.
seconds left. 55 when they were coming. to the line. So, not only that, but you. had all the downs you needed. You had. all the time you needed. >> You knew you didn't have any timeouts. and and they're putting guys in motion. If you watch the play, there there are. guys in motion and and they're changing. the play. Like, I don't know what's. going on there. And um Alex Smith, Rex. Ryan, Dominique Fox this morning. They're like the coach has got to yell. twice. twice. Hey, we're spiking the. ball. There's got to be a coach that.
knows the situation. Situational. football. We're coming up. We're going. to get ready. They're taking their time. They're stepping to the line. Let's. watch. Let's send a man in motion. Let's. call a play. Like, what are we doing? It's second down. There's no timeouts. Even if you complete this pass in the. flat, time runs out and the game is over. then. And so I think again. >> crazy, >> we've got a rookie, inexperienced. offensive coordinator who probably has. not been in a spot like that in his. life. We've got a defensive-minded head.
coach who maybe could have stepped in at. some point in time. We've got a young. quarterback. When you have a breakdown. of this sorts, there is blame to go. around for everybody. Everybody gets. some blame here. It's not on Jaden. Daniels specifically. It's not on Dan. Quinn. It's on everybody. I mean, we got. Magic Johnson. You got one of the. minority owners tweeting out, >> awesome. >> I mean, that that that's unbelievable. Like, when does that happen? But, you.
know, Magic. >> Yeah. With Magic, it's going to happen. I I think that is something that's going. to happen. He always gets right to the. point, too. >> Oh, yeah. And we appreciate him being so. transparent as an owner in the NFL. But, yeah, I think they thought there was. another overtime like it was quarters. I. I think they I that's what I think just. with how casual they were with. everything. That's what I think D but. and I know that's not good. I'm just. saying like I think that that's the. thought. >> I mean, but even if you did think it, you still have a chance to win it before.
that that over or take take the lead if. you think like what like everyone knows. >> No, I think they thought it was I. thought I think they thought it was next. score wins and I think they thought just. we'll have another I'll go we'll go down. the other end. We'll flip the side here. and we'll just keep going. That's what I. think. Yeah, I mean. >> to Chef's point, motions, chilling, hands in I mean the most comfortable. I've ever seen a starting quarterback. less than a minute tie game in overtime. I'm like, man, this guy's cold. bloodooded, bro. This guy and then then. you start watching it's like, oh, they.
definitely think that just this just. goes until somebody I think they didn't. even have a clue that a tie was possible. in 40 seconds. I know he's cool and he's. confident, but that was crazy. Okay, let's talk about another crazy game last. night. Snoop Huntley certainly deserves. some conversation for every time he. steps in and does what he does. But on. the other side, Tua gets dropped in in. overtime and we had Jaylen Herz Tua. reliving in the documentary and it turns. out not going that way at all. Goes the.
complete opposite. Tua steps in. He. leads the Atlanta Falcons. Has a. completion, has two completions, then. has the most obvious interception of. Kyle Hamilton in the history of this. particular season. Debbut has a question. for you, Chefty. >> Yeah, Michael Pennix Jr. He was having a. solid game. Got knocked out of the game. Uh took a rib shot. Came out after the. game and said, "Hey, maybe if we got the. ball first, I would have went, but I got. cold." What's the up there update there. with the Falcons starting quarterback? >> Going to have an MRI on those ribs. today. He said after the game, it was. not a season ending injury, which it. does not look like it's a long-term.
injury, but that MRI of his ribs will. tell the story. Clearly, he was in a lot. of pain and I think he went to the. sideline and whatever it is, it. tightened up on him. He felt it more. some of the adrenaline wore off. Couldn't come back in and finish the. game. And they're not the same team. without him. I think we've seen how. valuable Michael Pennix is to this. Falcons team when he's out there. They're a different team. That was a big. shot that he took there late in the. fourth quarter, he could not come back. in. He said after the game that if they.
had gotten the ball first, he would have. come back in. This is a I mean, that's. that's a big shot that he took. And so, we'll see if he's going to miss any. time. He doesn't think it'll be a. long-term injury, but it wouldn't. surprise anybody. You know, ribs, I I. don't know. You wear a flat jacket, you. shoot it up, you do whatever you got to. do to get out there, but he's obviously. got something going on with his ribs. >> Yeah. Sad sight putting that towel over. his head for all of us. Yeah. What we. thought and started to see with this. part Falcons team with him at the helm. Him getting injured is the only thing. that everybody says will hold him back.
in his entire career. So, that's an. unfortunate thing. Hopefully he is. healthy, but if he ends up not missing. any time, I mean, there's gonna be. people talk about him coming out of. overtime and lo them losing and two. stepping in there and just immediately. saying, >> "Well, didn't he say didn't he say like. knowing me, I'll be back next week or. I'll be back soon. >> knowing me?" I love that. I love that. confidence in himself. >> I don't. >> knowing how I heal, I'm going to be. there. >> Well, I think people would say, "Why. would he in those two guys talking to.
him potentially holding him back, Debb?". Because I think I hear what you're. saying as well, Darius. Yeah, I mean, look, it's injuries, so you got to take. injuries serious. You don't know what. that person's dealing with. Like you. said, the the medical staff there could. have said, "Hey, we're going to run. these tests. We don't want to send you. back. It's too dangerous." Great job by. Snoop Hunley and the Ravens taking all. that time to get down there and actually. get in scoring position. But, uh, yeah, it's going to be tough uh for some. people, maybe some fans, maybe some. teammates if, like you said, he is back. out there in practice uh next week. But, you never know what guys are dealing. with, quarterbacks, whatever. But, yeah,
big big shot. But when you come out and. say, you know, I would have got the ball. first. I would have went out there or. knowing me, I'll be back. It'll be. tough, especially when, you know, Tula. comes in and does what he does. That's. going to be a tough look. But we'll see. We'll let it all play out. >> Yeah. And also, once again, the two. people that were talking to him very. clearly on TV, they could have been. telling him, "Yeah, right. We're not. letting you out there at all." So, this. could have been taken completely out of. his hands. >> But if he's healthy, we all think. they're going to be a good team. >> If he's not healthy, massive question. marks for Kevin Stfansky. But yet again,
it's quarterback position. Uh, congrats. to the Ravens Snoop Huntley. Fantastic. Love everything about that. Connor has. followup on Baltimore. >> Yeah, Shifty Snoop did great, but. obviously the team is Lamar's. What is. Lamar's situation here? Is he going to. be back next week? Is is this just a. oneweek injury? And then Cam Jurgens, will he be expected to start next week. at center as well. >> with Lamar? You know what's interesting. is last week, right around this time, I. had somebody tell me that they thought. even with the sprained ankle that Lamar.
would wind up playing Sunday night. Uh. was repeated later in the week and they. left open the door that he could play. and obviously they ruled him out Friday. So there was some hope earlier in the. week last week that he was going to be. out there. Knowing the things that I. heard last week, my sense is he's going. to have a realistic chance to play this. week Lamar and he'll have an opportunity. to be back out there against the. Cleveland Browns in a game in which they. are expected to get Cam Jurgens to make. his Baltimore Ravens debut a week after.
they traded for him. So Jurgens will be. out there. I think there's a realistic. chance that Lamar is out there and we'll. see how they fare against the Browns who. have played pretty good football lately. >> Hey Ty, we love that Lamar Snoop Huntley. tag team. It feels like we've been. watching it for 10 years, Ty Schmidt. >> Yeah, it's unbel I mean I think his. record is eight and N when he gets a. backup duty, but I you know like I this. guy should be a starting quarterback. somewhere. He he really should. I I just. you know, you look at what Malik Willis. uh has done or what he got in Miami like.
Sheffy, is there a chance that someone. trades for this guy? me and I obviously. I know that you know the Baltimore isn't. just going to give him up but like I I. feel like this guy is one of the 32 best. quarterbacks in the NFL and it feels. like it's been like that anytime he. comes in he usually performs well I I I. think I've always been a Snoop Puntley. fan and he played well last night he. looked like he looked like he lost some. weight. He looked like he's faster. He. looked very sharp and effective last. night. Uh he's been out there so many. times that I don't know that anybody. views him as a starter, but he's a he's.
a perfect backup for Lamar. Like he's in. a great spot right now and that's what I. would expect to be a continuation of the. case with him backing up Lamar. That. that's what I think will be the case. >> He's a former Pro Bowler. People forget. Pro Bowl as a backup quarterback who. would go on to be a starting. quarterback. Uh obviously teams have a. book on him now at this point getting a. huge win in prime time. special for him. and for the Ravens. Now, I want to let. you know what you did this weekend was.
hilarious. Debbut has a question for. you. >> Yeah. Announcing the Marvin Harrison. trade and just leaving it out there for. everyone to guess. That was absolute. cinema. But how did that trade go down. behind the scenes? >> You know, that was amazing because. again, I I I saw some of these comments. like what what do people want us to do? Like that was the situation. Like he was. told he was inactive. He was told he's. being traded. I think we all suspected. that it was going to be the Houston. Texans who we linked to them right away.
and we put out the Colts. >> Yep. >> Thought it was the Colts. >> Okay. Well, I I never mentioned the. Colts. I I did mention the Texans from. the jump. >> You sure? >> And so and and so like people think. you're holding like No, no, no. I I need. I need to be able to report the team. Like you need somebody to say we're. getting this done. Nobody in Arizona was. saying Houston. Nobody in Houston was. saying Houston. So if I put out there. he's being traded to Houston and then. all of a sudden they play the game.
Sunday and then let's just say Houston. loses and they decide to back out and. they trade him to the Colts, then you're. wrong. Right? So this was always the I I. was surprised by this. He was being. traded. We put out the information we. had and he was right. Oh, you're trying. to give Arizona a market. No, we're not. >> You were surprised. >> The the trade was consummated. Basically, it was. >> uh in the works. The parameters were.
essentially agreed to, I guess. And then. Deo Ryan comes after the game. We're. trading for Marvin Harrison. That's it. I thought. >> So, I thought, and sorry, AJ, I assume. what had happened was you found out that. they are trading him because he's not. with the team. Okay. So, that's huge. news. You have to report that. >> I I found out they were trading I found. out they were trading him because they. told him he was inactive and that they. were dealing him. >> Yeah. And you have to report that. obviously you have to report that news. that Marvin Harrison, one of the biggest.
names around the NFL, wide receiver, a. lot of different things happening in the. world of football with wide receivers, Marvin Harrison Jr. and football as a. whole. So you had to report that he was. going to be out, I think. And then the. reasoning for why he's out, he's getting. traded, but you didn't know exactly who. he's getting traded to. How many times. does this happen? Does this happen. often? Cuz I think the reason why the. reaction was what it was, cuz I don't. remember this happening before. And I. understand that you had to report that. he was going to be out, but I don't. think we've ever heard like he's going. somewhere.
I don't think we've ever heard. >> Here's the thing. Here's the thing. what. made it like again there are trades that. come together but they often don't come. together up against a game. So when the. player is being informed that he's not. going to play in a game that he's. practiced for all week and he's being. sent home because they're working out a. trade. Am I supposed to just leave that? Like okay I'm not I got to wait to find. out the team now and the trade being. final before we report it. like no he's.
not playing in the game. So the next day. when he was on the inactive list and he. wasn't playing what what happened. tomorrow? Oh he's being traded. Where is. he being traded? So that time clock was. sped up to the day before. I again we. put out Houston right away as a team. that had been involved in that's where I. thought he was going. But I spoke to. people in Houston which I put in the. tweet. We cannot confirm or deny, which.
to me is we're confirming. When I say we. cannot confirm or deny, we're. confirming. Okay. So, okay. I I I don't. know what else there could have been. done. We suggested Houston. We said. Houston's denying it. Arizona is not. commenting. >> You're trying to get the confirmation. that the trade is in place. Nobody's. saying anything. >> Got it. Okay. So, you had the report. that he was going to be out and you had. the information that you had, but you. didn't have a guarantee on the other. side. I think you did it good, but we've. never seen it before. ly the reaction. was going to be the reaction. AJ has a. followup on this particular realm of.
combo. >> Sheffy, any other like u big-time trades. on the horizon that you may be, you. know, snooping around that you think. could happen over the next couple weeks? Well, you know, here's the great part is. that the league has gone trade crazy and. we look back at the number of trades. that have been made from October 1st to. the trade deadline and and our great. researcher Evan Kaplan dug up the. numbers for me over the weekend and. we've had doubledigit trades and they've. gone up dramatically over the last 10.
years. I think we've averaged the last. two years from October 1st to the trade. deadline 17 trades per year. We've. gotten four over the last two weeks. since the beginning of October. So, we're probably sitting and waiting on. roughly 10 or so more trades between now. and the November 10 trade deadline. And. I think the teams that you look at are. the teams that aren't winning that can. shed salaries and pick up draft picks.
Like who stands out of that list? Well, Miami. Okay. Well, who would be tradable. on their roster? I would say most of the. players if somebody wants him, the. Chargers 0 and5, the name that jumps out. there to me is Khalil Mack. Like he's in. the last year of his now. They love. Khalil Mack. But why are you holding on. to Cle Mack if all of a sudden you're. one and seven or whatever the record is. and there is another team offering you a. pick. So to me that's a player that I'd.
be watching. You know Arizona Josh Sweat. is a player I'd be watching. Tennessee. right now 0 and5 Tony Pard in the last. year of his contract. If there's a team. out there that needs a running back. wouldn't it make sense to call Tennessee. and offer something for Tony Pard? So to. me, that's where it gets interesting. with some of these teams out there right. now. Like a lot of these teams are still. fighting to save their season and they. believe they can turn it around. Like. Texas, Houston is one and four and. they're still trading at two for Marvin.
Harrison. And you I'll bet you that all. those teams in the NFC South, they're. one game out of first place. So the NFC. East is all bunched together. teams. aren't really uh resigned to where the. Chargers are 0 and5 and the Dolphins are. 0 and5 and the Texans are 0 and5. I I. think we know where those seasons seem. to be headed. But everybody else. fighting to stay alive here and I would. expect there's going to be a lot of. trade calls. >> Okay, so there's a few teams that are 0. and five. They'll be sellers, we assume,
especially if there's one year left on a. contract. Let's try to get something for. it. But also for that player, why don't. you go ahead and try to play for. something this season? Maybe it's good. for both sides. Uh, let's not just talk. about the players potentially getting. change in situations. Tone has a. question for you about Los Angeles. This. beautiful city I'm in right now. >> Yeah, Shifty. I mean, what's happening. versus what the expectations were are. insane right now? And and you obviously. when that happens, you look to see if. there's going to be changes in the. coaching staff. Obviously, they bring in. Mike McDaniel as a new offensive. coordinator. It's clearly not working. Is there any changes coming with any of.
the coordinator positions uh with the. Chargers potentially? I. >> I I don't know that they make them in. season. Look, when you're winless, at. some point in time, something gives. somewhere. But again, we we went over. the Charger staff last week. I I don't. know who's handling the offense. If. they're firing Mike McDaniel, you you. Adam Gase is the passing game. coordinator. Are we going to make him. the offensive coordinator? You could do. that. But at this point in time, I think. that they believe that they could. hopefully turn it around, get things. back on track. >> Uh Justin Herbert just doesn't look.
comfortable out there. He just doesn't. look comfortable with with what's going. on. taking a lot of hits. They're not. producing a lot of yards. They're not. winning games. And you know what it. reminds me of? Trevor Lawrence was in. this spot, you know, a couple of years. ago and all of a sudden, you know, a new. staff came in, salvaged him, and and now. Trevor Lawrence looks like one of the. best quarterbacks in football. And. that's just where Justin Herbert's at. He's still, in my mind, one of the best. quarterbacks in football, but he's just. not playing that way right now. >> Yeah, that pick he threw yesterday was.
gross, I think, is how people would. describe it. in I had such high hopes. for McDaniel and Herbert teaming up and. then the mic that right there that's. just gross. I but I assume there's some. trickery that happened there with the. Denver Broncos, but at this stage of. Herbert's career, you would hope that he. wouldn't be able to get fooled that. easily in this particular situation. But. Herbert and McDaniel was dream come. true. Harbaugh McDaniel, hilarious duo. We had such high hopes, such big dreams, and it's all just completely crumbled in.
five weeks. Okay, let's pivot to. tonight. Adam Shfter, uh, what do we. need to know about Bills Rams out here. in Sofi? Monday Night Football. Monday. Night Countdown starting 600 p.m. Eastern. >> Well, two former MVPs squaring off. against each other. The last two NFL. MVPs, Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, which is great theater. Um, Aaron. Donald's going to be back for the Rams. Jaylen Watson will be back for the Rams. Kobe Parkinson will be back for the. Rams. Christian Benford back for the. Bills. I think the one injury question.
is DJ Moore that lingers out there. He. aggravated that shoulder injury that. he's been playing with uh throughout the. season and I checked in over the weekend. was told that uncertainty surrounding. him. So, we don't know whether DJ Moore. will or won't be out there tonight. But. there's the two MVPs that we're looking. at right now. Uh should be a high. powered matchup. And and listen, these. are great teams. Great teams. Like it. wouldn't be a surprise if these two. teams met in the Super Bowl and it. should be a great game. But I mean, are.
we going to get another game as good as. some of the games we saw this weekend? What we saw this weekend was incredible. Like there were things that happened in. this league. >> It's unbelievable. Like so, okay, tonight's the night cap. We'll see how. it works out. But what a what a weekend. of football. >> What a weekend of football. You're. right. And uh what a football life you. have lived. We appreciate you every. single Monday. You're the man, ladies. and gentlemen. Senior NFL insider for. ESPN NFL Network, Adam Shfter. Um, okay. So, week five of the NFL slate. wraps up tonight. Um, college football.
had a hell of a weekend with an absolute. banger down in Tuscaloosa that I got a. chance to watch from the Sabin suite. It. was an honor to meet everybody down. there. Julio, Bryce, um, you name it. I. I there was stars go haha Clinton Dicks. Incredible meeting him. I don't want to. leave anybody out. Definitely going to. leave people out. It was nice to meet. everybody and see everybody down there. I appreciate them. This Georgia Bulldogs. team though was untested coming into. this game. Alabama obviously had had a. couple big-time wins and Keyn Russell.
had had some incredible mental toughness. to get some doves. This one came down. the wire. It was a dog fight how. everybody predicted. Maybe a mis call in. the end zone kind of changes some stuff. on the pass interference, but Gunner. Stalton makes some huge, huge throws. that I don't think we would have seen in. the past. And Kirby gets a win for. Georgia, not just Kirby, in Tuscaloosa. for the first time since 2007. Digs, what a night for college football down. there in Tuscaloosa. But what a weekend. as a whole. And to Sacramento State and.
Bowling Green, I will learn more. One. thing I did learn, I'm not betting on. Sacramento State ever again. Now, I do. hope they continue to win and I will try. my best to learn about every single team. out there. I apologize for saying that I. know nothing about them. I'm just. wishing and praying that they do that. That's on me. Should show more respect. to those programs playing football. But. I do know one thing I know is I'm never. put my money on Sacramento State. But I. am going to learn about the team before. I do that going forward. Anything that.
we miss from college ball tone that. needs to be noted here as the first hour. wraps up in the hour and 10 minutes. >> Yeah, Alabama and Georgia was was. awesome. Those are just two of the best. teams in college football. It was an. incredible game. Obviously, you know, some of the things down the stretch went. Georgia's way. could have went either. way. I was impressed with both of those. teams. They ran the ball well. You know, it was a lower scoring kind of like an. old school Bama Georgia. It felt really. good. I love how Dbor was so into them. there. Then you get LSU and Kentucky. Kentucky wins again on the last play in. overtime. IU comes back from being down.
double digits in the fourth quarter. UCLA knocks off of Oregon. It was a huge. college football weekend and just adds. some more chaos when you have no idea. who's going to win each week and leads. into an incredible weekend coming up as. well. It it was performing awesome as. usual. >> Texas loses to Oklahoma. Everybody saw. that coming. Obviously, Indiana remains. undefeated. They got 22 straight wins. Ohio States coming to Bloomington this. weekend. Then Missouri, what.
everything that happens in college. football is spectacular cuz it's it is. unpredictable. Just completely. unpredictable. There's no clue. And then. Will Stein down there in Kentucky. completely changing the culture and then. just steams them here in overtime. Yeah, we'll go empty uh three by two. See you. later. They just split like the Red. Seas. I will go ahead and take advantage. of that. They get another win by one. point backto-back weeks in overtime. KY's for real. Who's the next great team.
in the Big 10? Who knows? Who's the. number one team in the country right. now? It's Georgia. Will that remain? Who. knows? college football alive and well. just like the NFL. AJ, it's an honor to. be going alongside this football season. and talking in the microphones, fella. >> Yeah, it is. I think uh I cannot predict. anything, especially college football. I. don't know who's going to win week to. week. I got to be honest. >> I've done pretty good at the location. picks. Everything else needs to pick it. up. On the other side, we got Dan. Olowski. Be a friend. Tell a friend.
something nice. >> You know what? I think there's only one. thing left to do here. I've experienced. cafesito time. I've experienced the. wonderful culture. I've experienced the. beautiful people. Hello beautiful people and welcome back. to another magical overreaction Monday. October 12th 2026. Hour two of this. sports program begins right now. >> FOOTBALL. >> HE IS THE GREATEST. Joining us now live. from SoFi is a back-to-back Emmy award. winner from NFL Live. He's also on your. TV all day talking about ball from his. notes that he takes so diligently every. single weekend. Ladies and gentlemen, Daros,
what's going on? >> Back in the Thunderdome is AJ Hawk. Uh. he drove in from Ohio. I appreciate. that. The toxic table at Boston Connor. and at Ty Schmidt flying high after the. weekend for the lads. Good for you, Con. man. Good for you, Ty Schmidt. >> Thank you. Thank you very much. You. know, it's crazy how much a wind can. really just set you up for a beautiful. week. It is nuts. You know, I'm almost. fleeting feeling. Almost forgot about. it. >> Yeah. And you were pretty bummed out the. last couple weeks. It's nice to see you. smiling. Connor, everybody on Earth is. pumped up about UMass having another.
team that could go on a long run. And it. looks very evident early. >> Yeah. And they doubted us for a little, which makes it even better. You know, the first couple weeks of, you know, the. New England Patriots stink were really. fun for everybody, and now everyone has. to just eat, poop, and piss. Jeez. uh the DraftKings LR wrap just. pops up. If you are of age uh in the. United States of America because it's. available everywhere and you agree to. gamble or trade responsibly and not like. an we'd love for you to come. join us on the best sports book on.
earth, DraftKings. Now, let's go to one. half of the Hammer Dad. >> Cowboys AP Tom was the trend of week. five thus far, pal. >> So, actually like as far as you know, uh. dogs and favorites and overunders, we. were basically 500 on each of those. There hasn't been a huge trend this. week. The home dogs didn't perform as. well as they had been, but we're still. looking for this trend. There are some. trends for tonight. Um the last eight uh. dogs in prime time have won and covered, but the last time the last 11 times an.
East Coast team is traveling west, they've lost every single time. So, you. pick whichever your favorite one is. tonight for those trends. >> You travel back in time coming out here. and the weather, there's a little bit of. a rain and a drizzle. It's not certainly. perfect LA weather. So maybe Buffalo. feels a little bit more at home. But to. your point, Hembo had a stat about prime. time games and the dogs. Ravens plus. three vers Falcons. One, one, one, one, one, one, one, one. Lost one. 7-1. underdog run in prime time since week. three. Let's go to nine-year NFL vet,
Yukon Husky legend Darius J. Butler. Why. is that? You think the big bright lights. whenever you're favored becomes too. much. But holes get puckered out there. Dud, >> that's probably part of it. But. honestly, no clue. These games are game. to game, week to week. No, no idea. I. hate uh, you know, putting those. together without actually watching these. games and going back in time, but I'm. not sure. But I'm definitely interested. to see what's happened tonight with. these two MVPs. >> Philadelphia Eagles could have won very. easily and it would be a whole different. conversation today than what it is. And.
then the Washington Commanders. >> and the Giants both had a win on a. platter and they chose to eat the. platter instead of the win. Absolute tom. foolery. Let's uh Danovski, can you tell. me a little bit about how the hell Mr. Daniels ends that game that way? I know. there's people that are going to blame. the coaches, going to blame the players. Should this be a blame on everything. football, Dan? What do you think. happening? >> Yeah, it certainly starts with the. coaches. So, >> before you even get to the final drive,
there's three different drives in the. game when Washington has the chance to. end the game and they don't. the final. drive in over fourth quarter. There's a. previous drive in overtime and then the. final drive. Um the lack of a allout. zero blitz plan was was one of the. reasons why they don't even get a. kickoff to win in those two previous. drives. To walk people through the final. drive for Washington, this is how it. often goes. When you start with the. football before you play it on the 55,
when you start with the football, there's a conversation. We have to get. to this minimum yard for the kick to. have a chance, right? We a minimum we. have to get here. Then the ideal. situation for our kicker is that as far. as a yardage. So Washington gets to the. minimum with 55 seconds left. No. timeouts. 55 seconds in the helmet. Once. that ball is snapped, you guys know this. ball gets snapped, play is over, 40. second clock starts, gets cut off at 15. seconds in the quarterback's helmet,
play clockwise. So there's a 25se. secondond window where the they can be. communicating to Jaden Daniels, this is. the plan. This is what we want to do. You're going to do this with the. football or that with the football. Make. sure everybody knows. The fact that they. took 42 seconds. >> chilling. >> to to huddle up and obviously not. communicate what the very clear plan was. cuz I would imagine if they talked in. the huddle and said, "Hey, we're going. to run this play." Someone's like, "Hey, what do you what do you mean we're going. to run that play?" You know, like we we. don't have a timeout. And so, um, I I.
just don't know how you can go from 55. seconds, we've accomplished the the. minimum, and then waste 42 seconds and obviously. the game is over. >> I think they thought another quarter of. overtime football was happening. >> Do you think that. >> you thought there was a fifth? >> I think they thought. >> I think they thought there was another. >> They put their sixes up after the end of. it, too. They all They all raised their. hands like this. They thought they were. going to three and three. >> Yeah, I did. >> If you look at how casual they like.
>> everybody on the field is like, "Oh, you. know, nothing." And so there's no way. there in in the huddle there was any. form of a communication of like the. urgency of the moment. There's no way. >> Now, they might have been right though. I I don't think it should end in a tie. So, I just would like to let the. commanders know. >> Certainly a terrible move. And you guys. all look for. >> the 10 yard line. You mean to tell me. that receiver. >> knows that they got to. >> No way. They all think another one's. coming. >> Defense new. >> I like that. John Harball football. Hey,
situational football. We're going to. hand that. >> Would I love for Jaden to be the eraser. here? Would I love for Jaden Daniels to. like be put on, you know, put on the. Superman cape and save the day. In. reality, of course. I think that's. simplifying it. If you are a coach and. you're not the play caller on offense or. play caller on defense, like you have to. be great in these moments and handling. the management of the game in this. moment, we spent years crushing Mike. McCarthy for making mistakes like this. And so, as much as I'm a fan of Dan. Quinn, like this certainly falls under.
his umbrella. >> Okay, so let's talk about good football. from a quarterback as opposed to bad. football from an entire team. And the. Scataboo fumble, unbelievable as well. And they all learn. from this. We'll continue to move. forward, but I like how the Commanders. thought there was going to be, in my. eyes, they thought there was going to be. another quarter. There's no way NFL in. 2026 can end in a tie. It can. I don't. think it should be. I think this is. where we need to go to a kickoff against. each other. This is where we need to do. Oklahoma drills against each other. This.
is where we need jugs with offensive. linemen trying to catch punts. This is. where we need to determine a winner. somehow. We need a shootout like the. NHL. >> 40 yard sprint. >> 40. Okay, let's race. I like it. Especially in that weather, helmet on, maybe uh two shoulder pads on, run into. each other like the uh the. >> Yeah. Glomus. Yeah. >> No pads. >> We need something. We need something to. get an end. So, for the Commanders to. think there's no way this game ends in a. tie. We are all on your side. But it.
does. And he looks stupid. No. There's a. team that didn't look stupid at all. There's a quarterback that was getting. kind of uh buried earlier in the season. because of how great he was last year. Connor has a question for you about the. Patriots being all the way back and. Drake may be a guy again. >> Yeah, Dan, obviously Drake May, uh I I. actually just got a text from Goodell. He is the AFC player of the week this. week again as far as offense goes. But. what was, you know, they what were they. doing that kind of made you think, okay,
Drake May is going to win the MVP and I. can't use the schedule as an excuse this. year like you did last year. Uh why were. they so good without AJ Brown, Romeo. Dobs really doing didn't do anything, but still they were able to put up 45. points. What is it about this offense. that just seemingly overnight flipped a. switch and are back at the top of the. league? I'd be unbelievably disappointed. if you had Roger Goodell's number and. you personally communicated to him. Just. to be clear, >> hey, hey, thanks for putting your tie on. correctly. You look like a the.
last couple weeks and finally it's just. going straight down. By the way, I. forgot to mention that. Sorry. >> It's been crooked for weeks. It's It. drives me insane. You can see all his. buttons. It's the point of having a tie. so you don't see. >> cool though. Isn't he kind of like cool. though? Like it's kind of Hey, I'm cool. >> Yeah, I know. Yep. Yep. Yep. That's why. I roll up my sleeves, too. Um, I will. get to the New England answer. >> Okay, sleeves make sense. >> I thought what New England? So, one, going back to last week, we just saw a.
much more mechanically better. quarterback in the pocket with Drake. May, athleticism, instincts, that. carried over. So, he he's much more. comfortable in the pocket. I think the. two big takeaways for me in the game, the offensive line played really well in. New England yesterday. I mean, there. were multiple clips where Drake's got a. lot of time in the pocket to just hang. One of the reasons why, and I'm going to. do a tape on this for live later, a lot. of their plays got into what we would. call like 4 by one formations, and the. one on the backside was an attached.
tight end. And so what they would do, Boston would be like Boston Connor. They'd have that tight end to be on the. backside. he would help a little bit in. the protection. And then one of the four. people on the other side was like a. receiver that was close to the tackle so. the defensive end didn't have a clean. free rush or a back that was a little. bit offset behind the tackle and so the. defensive end had to go all the way. around them. And so it was it was a. clear plan of let's let's help this. offensive line. Let's just give some. clean pockets and then they created some.
of the big throws down the field with. just flooding. So you had really good. protection. you flooded half of the. field and um Drake May saw it very. cleanly, but it was it was a big- time. credit to the offensive line. I thought. they played very well and the. quarterback is back to being. comfortable, not thinking, just. reacting. >> Yeah, Drake's a stud. He might win AFC. offensive player of the week again with. how he started. I don't think any of us. would have seen this this early in the. season. This early in the season, Shawn. Peyton back to calling plays. Ty has a. question for you about that. They're. saying historically not good for the. quarterback. Yeah, Dano, did you notice.
anything different uh with the way. Denver looked yesterday with Shawn. Peyton calling plays because, you know, just based on, you know, stats alone, Bo. Knicks, not a great day. Didn't look. great either. Um, was there any. difference there or do you think Denver. is is genu, you know, genuinely in. trouble because it does kind of seem. like this is not the bow the same Bicks. we saw towards the end of uh the year. last year into the playoffs. >> I did not see anything different. Candidly, it's hard to see something. different when there is no rhythm. You.
know, the play calling and the art of. that there's it's you've got to get into. a flow. They did not. Here's the thing. where Bo still is. And right now, Bo is. one and almost panic right now. Like, what I mean is, okay, if the number one. guys there, he's fine. Number one guy's. there, cut it loose. If he's not there, it's like, oh gosh. I And he starts to. panic. I mean, there's a clip yesterday. where he runs, he throws a ball down to. the back on the left sideline. There's. no one even remotely close to him from a. Chargers perspective. He's falling away.
and throwing it. And there's no. pressure. There's no blitz. He's. drifting to his left. Pockets's totally. clean. And it's almost like, well, I'm. throwing the back no matter what, even. though the back is covered. And so, um, he's really, really right now struggling. with just his feet in the pocket, his. calmness in the pocket with his feet. when that first read isn't there and. he's got to get to the second and third. And so, they've got to get that figured. out. They're not really great running. the football uh from underneath the.
center. Uh but the bigger thing is just. like if you watch Bo Nicks play and then. you in that same window you watched. Brock play. >> and just the calmness of feet in. comparison to the frantic element of. feet. It it's a completely different. game between the two quarterbacks. >> Okay, let's talk about San Francisco. being 5. Brock Pury has a new weapon in. Mike Evans. Your thoughts on the. addition of him and what he's doing for. San Fran versus what he did for Tampa. I. I think the Mike Evans edition through.
five weeks is just as impactful as the. Kenneth Walker edition in Kansas City. I. really do. You when you talk about a a. quarterback that has unwavering trust in. a guy, unwavering trust and and not only. the player, but the frame of the player, there are so many clips where he's like, I'm going to believe that Mike's going. to win this football. Crossing on the in. routes. There's another in route where. Mike goes outside of the corner and. Brock just trusts to throw it up high. and Mike would go get a play. The back.
shoulder ball down the sideline. It's. you can see that there's a confidence. level and a trust level between Brock. Pury and Mike Evans. And you know when I. played for Mike March, he was this big. coach on as a wide receiver. Be where. you're supposed to be when you're. supposed to be there and never fool the. quarterback. And Mike Evans is embodying. that right now in San Francisco with. Brock. Brock knows where he's going to. be, when he's going to be there, and. he's never getting fooled by him. Um, this is the in route. Look where he. throws that up high intentionally in the.
back shoulder. So, uh, he's totally. totally changed their pass game. >> Yeah, Brock's cooking early. Had to go. to Australia. Still continuing it. It is. to a point where nobody's questioning if. Brock Freddy is a great quarterback. because remember just last year, years. before he'd have success and people. would still think of him as the last. pick in the draft from Iowa State. He's. operating this offense at an elite. level. MVP conversations very real for. Brock right now. >> Think about San Francisco right now as a. team. One probably have the coach of the. year through five weeks. And I know it's. early, but through five weeks they got.
13 players on IR more than any team in. football, yet they're 5-0. They've. beaten they've got three wins against. the Rams, the Seahawks, and the Broncos. The rest of the league has three wins. against those three teams. So, coach of. the year, they got the MVP front runner. and Brock Pury. They probably have the. offensive lineman of the year. I think. Andrew Witworth and those guys got that. as an actual award. That's going to be. Trent Williams through five weeks. They. got a newcomer of the year and Mike. Evans. And they have the defensive. player of the year and Fred Warner. That's that's what they are as a. football team right now. Like all those.
awards. >> pretty good. Can they can they sustain. >> if they're healthy enough? Absolutely. They'll be here having just as good of a. chance that the Super Bowl um. represented from the NFC will come from. the NFC West. It'll be the Rams, it'll. be the 49ers, it'll be Seattle. Um I. think San Francisco and the Rams are the. two teams. >> undefeated. Smoking a mouth. Okay. >> Two teams that you feel best about. >> Okay. I don't even want to talk about. why you have no respect for the Vikings. I don't even want to talk about. >> I would tell you Minnesota's offense. still like for me there's question. marks. Um,
>> what do you mean? Just question mark. Obviously in a relationship up. >> they didn't score. So was everybody. else. Um, they don't have a touchdown in. the first half again. >> Jeez. >> I think that if you take away some of. the I would say circus catches from. Justin Jefferson, the pass game still. lacks some stuff. He's got three of them. in this game that are just total circus. catches. Um, there's not a lot pass game. in structure that is repeatable that you. can just bank on on a week- toeek basis.
Now, I thought Kyler made some plays. with his legs again and again the Justin. Jefferson circus catches, but there's. not still for me um these repeatable. plays within the structure of a pass. game. >> And uh Kevin Oonnell told us last week. that's only going to continue to grow. with Kyler. He has a lot of expectation. for the upside. And then Brian Flores is. just bringing 90% hell to every single. quarterback. Shuck got shook out there. pretty good. And he's not the only one. 90% they were blitzing. >> Have you ever seen that? We've never.
seen that. No, but. >> what would you do? >> Let's hope you're not wearing white. pants. >> That's the thing for them this year, right? But like Debbuck could speak and. AJ could speak to it better than I, but. like they ran a bunch 90% pressure. Yeah. But there wasn't a bunch of zero. yesterday. Like they were running what. we call 88 blitz, which is like a. middlefield open blitz. >> Now Debbot, they keep shell, right? Don't they bring it? But also keep a. shell so it's easy for the DBs. Nothing's easy, but this seems like a. very easy defense for Below if he has. all the guys that understand what the. hell they're doing. Are we right with.
describing it that way? >> Yes, a lot easier for the defense. Usually if you bring in seven or eight. guys, you're assed out if you don't make. that tackle and cover zero. You, you. know, you hit a quick slant, you miss. the tackle, that's a touchdown. But what. they're doing even with this. interception like there was a guy wide. open on the other side of the field run. the deep hook but the quarterback will. never get to that read once feels that. pressure. So having that zone look and a. lot of times I forget who told us this. but uh the Vikings coaches don't Flores. doesn't even know exactly how that. coverage is going to play out. He lets. the players kind of dictate who's going.
to drop where who's going to cover which. player. So you got a bunch of smart. players. You got a really smart coach. and that's what you get that recipe. right there playing phenomenal football. You know, limiting a team, any NFL team. to less than 150 total yards is. impressive. >> Yo, is Isaiah Rogers been paid for them. that corner? >> He got a deal. I don't think he got a. huge deal, though. >> He going to get so much money from. someone and so is Redmond. >> Yeah, he's a Hey, that's. about Kyle Vanoi. Harrison Smith, two. old guys coming off the couch out there. for Minnesota.
>> I'm not surprised by anything those. dudes do. Kyle Vanoi has been so good. for years and Harrison Smith's one of. the best safeties of the generation. watching him still do his Be loves. it. And then Kevin O'Connell telling us. just to your point there that uh nobody. really knows what the coverage is going. to be. It's gonna be hard to figure out. what it's because the guys are deciding. in real time what the. >> they're read I think they're reading. concepts. That's why I call them 88. pressure. Like have you guys heard palms. before like where they're reading it. Like I think those defensive backs are. all kind of reading things. I was. watching something with Harrison Smith.
and gosh, it was somebody's podcast and. they were asking him what he truly. thought made a a great player in the. pros and his answer was like being able. to. truly perfect the weakness of your craft. or something like that. And he was like, "At some point, I have to know exactly. where I have to get to and you know. where exactly I have to get to. So, I'm. constantly trying to fool you about your. the rules of you offensive quarterback. guys.
>> Yeah, deception. You know, it's good for. wide receivers, it's good for secondary, it's good for quarterbacks, it's good. for everybody to be able to deceive. others and still pull off what your job. is. Congrats to the Vikings starting out. 5-0. And from Dan Olowsky's perspective, still have a long way to go offensively. Now, let's talk about a team in the NFC. North that's complete opposite of that. >> Yep. >> Okay. Debbut has a question for you. about what's going on in Detroit. >> Talking about the Detroit Lions. Obviously, a long way to go defensively, but offensively, I think Jared G is. having an MVP caliber year. Got La. Leapora and J Mo involved yesterday with.
the new offensive coordinator. I see you. got two notebooks, too. So, I want to. get to that at some point. Ask you about. that second one. What's your take on. Jared Goff's play uh so far this season? >> Yeah, Jared's been great this year. It's. been overshadowed by how bad how poor. they've been on defense conversation. wise. Um they scored, I think, seven. straight drives yesterday cuz they. didn't show up for their first quarter. I I don't believe they scored a point in. the first quarter and then they just. went on this run. They were ultra. aggressive on fourth downs. They went. for it a bunch on fourth downs. The the.
protection was great. J Mo caught it. St. Brown caught it. Leaport was big. Gibbs was ridiculous yesterday. Jir. Gibbs does he at times does whatever he. wants on a football field. They hit the. big pylon to J Mo which has become a. staple of their offense. And so Jared's. playing in the NFC. Jared Goff is a. quarterback. Um, I would tell you the. only guys that are playing quarterback. through the first five weeks. definitively better than Jared Goff. would be Brock Pury. >> and that's about it. Maybe Bryce Young,
>> but as far as quarterbacks that have. been better through five weeks, I I. probably would tell you only Brock Py. that I could definitively say. >> Foxy, a lot of stats coming out about. Jared Goff this season. Everybody's. saying nobody's talking about him. Is. that because the defense is ass? That's. what everybody's saying? >> Yeah, 100%. This team's 3-2. If we would. have just beat the Panthers and been 4-. one, I think Jared Goff would be at top. of that MVP rankings. I mean, look at. the stats. He leads the NFL in pass. yards, 12 touchdowns, no interceptions, 74 first downs. He's been outstanding.
And that's with Gibbs in the back field. eating on the ground game as well. This. Lions offense is outstanding. It's just. going to come down to if this defense. can get any stops at all. Yesterday, they did that and they were pretty. dangerous. So, we'll see how it goes. Jared Goff currently sitting at plus. 4500 to win the NFL MVP. Brock Pury, your favorite at plus 280. So national. narrative about a player or a. quarterback on a team that can't get a. stop on a lot of occasions. Not that. high. Maybe good stock to purchase there.
for Bryce Young. And. >> you see Daniel Jones sneaks into the. graphic there. Plus 15. >> Yeah. Is that in order? >> Plus 15. I think there's a couple others. in there, but Daniel Jones is obviously. star studded. Need him on the graphic. Tone has a question for you. Not about. Daniel Jones, but the other side of the. ball. >> Yeah, Dan, you used the word. repeatability uh earlier. After week. one, you said the Steelers offense was. not repeatable. And then after week two, they make the offensive line chain. And. since then, they are top eight in points. in yards. Jaylen Warren is going for.
over 160 a game receiving and rushing. And then Aaron's thrown for three. touchdowns in three straight. Um, is it. repeatable now after the offensive line. change of what Big Mike's kind of. settling into that offense or was it, you know, a Colts defense that isn't. very good? >> Yeah. So, there is a My answer is yes, >> more than it was early on. I I think the. two things, Tone, for me, that I did. like yesterday, and I'm going to give. you the caution. One, there there is a. very clear indication that Jeremy.
Bernard is a valued wide receiver on. this group. Um he's gotten better and. better and better and Aaron trusts him. Aaron's re believing he's going to get. open and I like the fact that they're. shrinking his splits a lot. They're. giving him those free releases. I like. when they take Jeremy and Fryouth and. kind of work them together. The goal. line Fri down in the red zone, him and. Washington together. So like I like the. fact that they're finding different ways. to pair people with Fryouth. I think. that final touchdown that Fryouth has, he's with Jeremy and they kind of rub. off each other. So yes. Um, yeah, this.
one. Jeremy had a big third down. conversion. See, they're running at that. same That's beautiful. That's so that. like that's a feel culture all over the. ground. >> But that's a feel thing. That's a good. release. They're both releasing at the. same spot. That hourglass release. Okay. And Jeremy has a route that is the same. thing. Hu flip switch places. Um, so I. like that Warren's the best player on. their offense. Um, they got to get him. the football more. I still believe this. should be a more physical run game. They. threw it a lot yesterday. So there are.
really good stuff. Aaron's legs. yesterday four or five times making. plays with his legs huge. So he's. getting he's not getting hit a lot. He's. fresh and clean. The tackling and the effort at times. from Indianapolis's defense leaves a lot. to be desired, man. >> It leaves a lot. Dude, that first 80. yard touchdown, >> dude. You go back to last week and a. week before and a week before, too. There's a lot of chasing. There's a lot. of us chasing, not seemingly trying that. hard. Deorest Buckner, we're sorry this. is happening to you. He's such a good.
player. >> But yeah, >> that's not great from the. >> Get Debbuck out of there. >> We knock if you Buck is our best player. on the defensive side by far. He uh when. he plays, we normally play pretty good. We've won two out of the last 12. >> Nobody's excited about beating the Colts. at this point. >> It's a flat route. Yeah, but you know. there's a mistake and then there's. another one and then there's a somebody. else who will do. >> even his 50 yard touchdown. There's like. four guys that go to like tackle him.
>> I don't want to talk about it. >> Look at this. >> Let's talk about the Steelers. Jaylen. Warren's explosive player. Okay, let's. talk about him. Let's not talk about. nameless faceless opponents there for. the Colts. Still a lot of season left. Please. >> can't lose to the Titans. >> We're second in division. Second in. division right now. Long season. >> That's right, G. >> Can't lose to the Titans this week. >> We can't. >> Right. Okay. There's there is an AFC. team that's starting to look like. themselves or at least what we thought. they were going to be over there in Big. Natty. Go ahead AJ for Dan Olowski. >> Dano. Yeah, Joe Burrow throws four.
touchdowns yesterday. They beat the. Miami Dolphins. Is this something that. you do you think the Bengals are are a. complete team offense? We know their. defense has stepped up more this year, but can you think uh you think Joe. Burrow and this offense is going to. continue their their kind of dominance? >> Yeah, Higgins and and Chase are. ridiculous. I loved the lot. They they. did a really good job down in the red. zone. Um, so AJ, I mentioned New England. being in 4x1 yesterday. Cincinnati was. in 4x1 a ton yesterday, specifically. down in the red zone. If you could. imagine having T. Higgins and Jamar.
Chase on the same side going, how do we. defend this? And so it frees up a gasei. here. It frees up a Pine. I thought Joe. played really clean and mam had like. been okay specifically defensively. throughout the first four games of the. year kind of hanging with some teams. So. I thought the red zone stuff was good. They're really cool, too, offensively. They can get into an AJ D, but you guys. know this pony where they put two backs. on the field. And so, like the two back. stuff from Cincinnati, I think that they. should utilize more. Um, they got to.
figure out some of their special teams. stuff. Special teams penalties continue. to hurt the football team and eventually. that will bite you, but their offense is. going to score. Yeah, they they'll. score. Um, and and the defense was. better. I I think that their defense. mixes up coverages pretty well, but um. they're obviously going to be an. offensive driven team throughout the. remainder of the year. >> This is the first Dolphins game you. watched, I think. What are your. thoughts? >> No, I've watched every game for the. Dolphins. The Dolphins defense has been. okay, man. It they've been okay. They've. hung. Um Malik has actually played.
pretty well up to that this point now. He has. >> been all right, man. Chris was brutal, Dan. Second half was good. First half, he had one completion till two minutes. left. Yeah, I'm I'm so I said played. well up until yesterday. >> Oh, >> got two picks off of him. >> He's giving AWAY EVERYTHING. THE GUY. WHO'S GOT. >> I GOT on him gets two picks on him. >> Every quarterback pats the ball, dude. >> You didn't. >> Not you. Yeah. >> Why do they Why does everyone pat the. ball? >> Um I think it's like a just a rhythm.
trigger, you know? I think like uh for a. quarterback, this is very a very awkward. thing to go from here to here. And so. it's often like a a trigger of like get. the ball back. So, I think it's a just. something you grow up doing. I don't. know if it has anything to do with. baseball. I think baseball we would do. that as well. So, >> do you ever do this one? You ever do. this one? Right-handed quarterback, left. hand off the ball, right? >> Bring that thing in. >> Wait, what? >> Wait, what are you talking about? >> Like a bullet in the You're holding the. ball in your left. Is that a pump? >> Yeah. So, you're holding it like this. It's boom. Left hand doing it. Now, come.
back. Boom. Back here. Bang. Right here. Because they think maybe you're doing a. little inside pitch. Nope. Coming back. And then we're out here. Right. Right. here, Frank. >> Yeah, I've never done that. No, I don't. know anybody who has, but I think every. quarterback pats the ball at some point. >> I know what you do with football. You. tucked it and ran out of the back of the. end zone. >> I don't know if you ever heard that one. before. Okay. Uh Gumpy quit on Malik. Willis completely. That's why when. >> he almost vomited over there.
>> I'm not completely out, but he's got to. use his legs more. He's got to run, Dano. You know it. You watch the tape. You watch the film. We pounded the rock. though. Oi Gordon's a. >> Ole Gordon's a nice back, man. >> Unbelievable. >> Yeah, big dude. >> I There's some like again, there's some. good in Miami's tape uh on both sides of. the football. They're just we all know. not as talented as everybody else. I. don't disagree with Malik and I also. don't think this Miami is an interesting. situation. I don't go through their. first five games and go, my goodness, they got to get a quarterback of the. future. Like I I think Malik has done a. solid job given what he's given with and.
what the expectations are. >> They could win next week. We just got to. keep losing. Just keep losing. winning. We're winning this week for sure. >> I think we're on a buy. >> Everybody's winning when they lose. A. lot of teams looking at the draft. already. >> Uh let's look at let's look at tonight's. game. >> Bills Rams. >> Yeah. >> Now, our number one headline, I don't. know if you saw it, was the amount of. running backs that go for over a hundo. in dubs. We would talk about 13. personnel, 14 personnel in some places. We've been talking about the run game.
this year more though, more so in the. past. Is that what tonight's going to. revolve around even though we have the. last two MVPs at quarterback? What are. your thoughts on how tonight's game. goes? >> Yeah, so yes, we'll see a ton of tight. ends on the field. Um, I'll speak from. him from Buffalo's offensive. perspective. You'll know early on what. kind of quarterback play you'll get from. Josh. His first or his last two weeks, his eyes have been all over the place. And so early on, does he look to be. settled and in control of where his eyes. are looking? If if you're going to get. that Buffalo early on and Buffalo fans,
he's going to play well. He's going to. see a ton of man coverage. um the way. that the Rams defensively have lined up. and played McDuffy. It's McDuffy shut. down a receiver and then they're doing. some really cool coverages opposite him. So just early on, how does Josh kind of. handle the presentation from the Rams'. defense? I think vice versa, the Rams. offense, you got two elite route. runners. Elite route runners different. because Devonte is slippery and crafty. and Puka is very strong and solid. These.
corners in Buffalo are very handsy, very. handy at the top of routes. And so, you. know, if I'm the Rams, I fully expect to. for Shawn McVey to try to attack these. corners with these receivers. Tight ends. will be a part of it, but these. receivers uh and and either complete and. wear them out or you're going to draw. some flags at the top of routes. >> Okay. So, tonight should be uh. fantastic. What do you have for the rest. of the day? You got big day with Big. >> Day with Peter Shriggs. Wow. Nice.
>> Wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait. Pat, Pat, before I need to know what that second. notebook is. What's in that second. notebook then? >> Uh, this is just my my schedule planner. thing. I still write down see where the. where the. >> Yeah, this is this is the football. notebook. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> And then this is just. >> You ever draw like pictures or anything? >> Do you save them? Do you save any. >> super veiny things? Do you draw? >> I don't do anything with No, this is. just ball, dude. This is just ball. >> Do you save your notebooks or throw them. away when you're done with them? Save. them. >> Oh yeah.
>> Definitely. >> No, I just have them down in like a box. down in the basement. >> from your plan days. >> Do you see John? >> I got them all. >> Did you see John Gruden's vault? >> I don't think so. >> John Gruden uh showcas his vault. I saw. it on the internet. I don't know which. one it was. He has actual VCR tapes, VHS. tapes of like, hey, here's the first. time the Wing T was run by Navy man. You're never going to find this stuff. And then he goes to another thing over. here and it's like Mike allott every. fullback dive that we ram with him is in. this. He has like his own NFL films.
vault. Sounds like you have something. similar for your notebooks. >> Yeah, I've got. >> When do you have you ever looked back at. them? >> Oh, all the time. I go down into the. basement. I look back at all look back. at them all the time. I think I've. shared some stuff on social of like, hey, you know, this is what a rookie. quarterback gets taught and like looking. at a game plan and just seeing like, hey, look how thick this game plan is. just for the context. And so, uh, and a. lot of the coaches obviously, you know, Kubak and Shanahan in Houston, there's. so many offenses like that in the NFL. now. So, tapping into some of those old.
rules and notes and how coaches taught. and Yeah. Look at it all time. >> Remember Big Mike's house, Pat, when we. went there in the in the barn, he's kept. every single game. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It was incredible. I mean, it's. such a good thing to have, too. Like, keepsakewise. >> Yeah. >> Later in life, you have no idea what's. going to be legendary. They're gonna. talk about multiple time Emmy. award-winning handwritten notes from Dan. Orlovski. Ty looked good. Brain sounded. fantastic today. Have a phenomenal time. on Big Day with Big Shranks. We. appreciate you, D. Later, boys.
>> Later, Dan. >> Dan. All right. >> Thank you, Dano. >> Is he on Is he on Countdown tonight? >> I hope not. >> Are you doing Monday night countdown. tonight? >> Thank God. >> Is Kelsey flying all the way from. London? >> No, he got a big week next week. Yeah, we do have big week next week. You're. right. >> Big week for next week, Dano. >> Big week. >> We're going to be on the call as we're. live for the San Francisco 49ers. Monday Night Football. That's going to.
be awesome. We appreciate you. >> So sick. >> I think we needed a quarterback, an NFL. quarterback for the NFL one. Also, you're going to be here every single. Monday, so that's good. So, not as much. travel for a guy who has four kids in. Ohio and AJ. But see, also, I think. we're going to amplify the game. I hope. we do that. I hope we have a good time. and it wraps up at the Super Bowl. We. appreciate you joining us. >> I'm so grateful for it. I'm honored. When you sent the text, I said, "Yo, the. fudging Super Bowl.". >> That's right. >> Well said. We did. >> Remember when we did that little Hey. Dut, you remember when we did the little.
rehearsal run for Hans and Anie and his. first thing he thought he was doing an. hourong podcast? Yep. I go, >> "Yeah, no, we're not doing that this. whole time, okay? We are not we are not. going to do that.". >> How many times did you look at me and be. like, >> "Hey, you figure it out, bro. Lay the. plane." Okay. the next play is about to. happen. We're very thankful for you. though. You're always such uh. wellstudied, always ready to say. whatever needs to be said at the time. and uh we think you're going to be great. with us. So, thank you. >> I'm grateful to be with you guys. Thank. you. And uh we're all blessed. >> See you, buddy. >> Bye, boys. >> See you, D.
>> See you. >> I mean, the Commanders going out to. Monday Night Football there for our. first one after what the Commanders just. did. Yeah. >> Cannot cannot wait. >> Glad JJ is healthy. >> Yeah, I am. I agree. I agree on that. one. Um, okay. We missed a couple. things. We hit college football, not. nearly as much, but we will definitely. talk about that as the week continues to. roll on. There's a new number one team. in town in Georgia. Ohio State travels. to Indiana. AJ, how's the Ohio State. team feel? 22 straight wins now for the.
Indiana Hooers, including a national. championship in a massive, you know, run. of beating top teams. Ohio State has the. longest in history, I think, at 23. and. they did it that back in 2013 or. something. How do you feel about the. Buckeyes at this, you know, stage of the. season with Jeremiah Smith being. uncoverable taking on this Indiana team. that has been a wagon now for the better. part of two years? >> Yeah, I think it's going to be an. interesting game. I mean, obviously. playing at Indiana, um it's going to be. an unbelievable atmosphere, but we all.
know like Jeremiah Smith is so he garers. so much attention. They had a couple. guys banged up last week against. Maryland, but this Indiana team, you. know, Nebraska kind of taking them to. the wire, having a tough game. beforehand, I think it's going to be I. mean, this catch, it's hard to do this. catch as your your body is going this. way and you're going to lean like it's. already hard enough to come back and get. that when you're running the other way, but to snag it one-handed. Yeah, the guy. is an absolute freak show. Fun to watch, but I think it's going to be a great. like uh what do you call it when you're. measuring yourself against the best like. how how litmus test?
>> Yeah, like how tr how good are you? You. don't truly know right now. Neither of. these teams do. >> Yeah. And there's a lot of discussion. happening about 2014 playoff coming. Um, and that decision was not made by. anybody at ESPN. There's a lot of people. voting on that. People are saying a lot. of mean stuff towards ESPN about the 24. I think the higherups that make these. decisions for ESPN don't love the 24. I. I think a lot of people don't love the. thought of the 24 game or 24 playoff.
Think it's too much. what happens to the. regular season if it takes place. But I. do think it will there are some. benefits. I'm not for it. I I think 12. is good. It has been good and there's. blowouts in the first round. So maybe. it's even too much at 12. But at least. we have found the best teams through the. process and more teams have uh the. opportunity. I do think a loss though in. the season or these big games happening. in the regular season aren't as. detrimental to making it to the big. dance whenever you're trying to learn. who you are as a team. Like Georgia,
they played next to nobody. Now, they. had SEC games on schedule, so that's not. their fault. But I think they'll be more. likely to play bigger non-conference. games because one loss doesn't kill you. And I think a lot of these teams would. like to find out who the hell they are. earlier in the season. They're just. scared if you lose, you're kind of. knocked out of the dance forever. And. with the amount of money that's being. spent on these teams, I think a lot of. these schools, donors, and teams would. like to have hope at the end of the. season if they happen to stumble early. So, there are some upsides, I think, to. the 2014 playoff. I don't love it. I.
don't think there's a lot of people that. love it. But the people that are voting. are doing it because they think it's. more sustainable for the current world. that we're in for teams to continue to. have hope. They'll schedule harder games. because they won't be scared to death of. just one loss or two losses killing them. out of the playoffs and them still being. able to make it. There's some upside, but there's a lot of people mad about. it, Tone. A lot of people mad about the. the playoffs changing. And it feels like. it's inevitable at this point with how. loud it's gotten, you know, and I'm not. in the room where it happens, but this. conversation has gotten pretty loud.
pretty quickly here, Tone. >> Yeah. A lot of people are upset about it. and I think people just obviously don't. like change and yes, they they people. love college football because every. single game means something and and a. loss would kill your season. Um, but I I. I think things have changed. Like I. don't mind I don't mind going to 24. I. actually, especially if it gets rid of. the conference championships game, which. a lot of people are going to hate me. saying that, but like I feel like it's. been a detriment to get to the. conference championship. A lot of these. last couple seasons, you're playing an. extra extra game. A lot of these teams. are getting hurt in that conference. championship game. That doesn't mean.
anything except for maybe the playoff. ranking. Now, didn't hurt IU last year. Um, but I mean, more playoff ball I. enjoy, but I I know I am in the. minority. >> 24 the max you think they'll ever go. >> You don't think they're ever trying to. go more than 24? >> You can't go more than that. Plus, all. the co all all the coaches won 24, which. I understand because they'll get in the. playoffs and keep their jobs and get. raises, everything like that. But, you. know, >> Well, yeah. Well, the expectations, it's. not just like they keep their jobs and. get raises. They'll also keep getting. money from the alumni who are giving to. like if you're getting a lot of money.
from an alumni to help benefit the. roster. And it doesn't look like there's. going to be any change happening. Even. though that thing goes through the. house, there's another half. I guess I. don't know politics well enough. the. Protect College Sports Act. Who knows if. it ends up going through or not, but. these teams, if their alumni or boosters. are giving them 50 million, $50 million, that's a lot of money coming. And they. don't make the playoffs, it's like that. money's going to get shut off. So, I. think like a lot of coaches and a lot of. administrators are like, we need to be. able to sell hope if we, you know,
stumble a little bit. We we got to still. be able to make it to the playoffs at. some point. So, I I think 24 is going to. happen. Seems like a lot of people are. talking about it happening, but and I. think ESPN is going to try their best to. keep the rights for the College Football. Playoff as a whole, but I think because. ESPN's name is coming up for the rights. of it. A lot of people think ESPN's the. one driving this. That's not the case. That that is not what's happening in the. heads of ESPN, I think they're on the. record of saying like we do not want.
more that we we like the way they love. college football. The amount of money. that has been invested in college. football by ESPN is astronomical, you. know, and everybody says, "Well, they. have control over this." It's like they. have control over what they have control. of, but they invest mightily because. they love the sport. I think that gets. missed in a lot of the conversation. Now, not every decision is a good one. There's been some terrible decisions. made by a lot of people who have power. in a lot of different places, and it's. befuddling to all of us, but college. football is phenomenal. So changing it.
at all is certainly going to ruffle. feathers. But if we get big games, more. big games, teams not scared to lose, teams being able to find themselves. late, and it's already professional. football because they're playing the. players more like the NFL. We're going. to lose out on a lot. But I think we're. also going to find some silver lining in. this move as we go forward. Uh I am not. listening to in that conversation, as I. should not be, but I am excited to get. to Provo this weekend as BYU hosts Notre. Dame. Notre Dame and USC couldn't get a. deal done. BYU becomes the team that.
takes up that spot in the schedule. And. Bear Bachmire is hilarious and very good. at ball. The BYU Cougs have an. incredible environment and atmosphere. And Notre Dame's got a tough one on. their hands. I think they know that. And. BYU is looking to continue to go. So, college football is the greatest. Baseball also happening. Tai, can you. tell us a little bit about what took. place? had a split uh split screen on. last night with Scooble and Miz battling. on the left side and then Sunday night. football on the other side. Pretty. perfect setup, Ty. What should we expect.
out of all of this? >> Yeah, without a doubt. Uh the the. Brewers kind of buck conventional. wisdom. I think a lot of people thought, hey, Miz versel. Miz is going to have to. go deep into this game. That's kind of. his best opportunity. Bryce Terang. though, he takes uh Scooble yard early. I think they said he is only the third. player this year to hit a lefty on lefty. homer off an inside fast ball. So, doesn't really happen. Uh and the. Brewers, you know, this isn't exactly. this hasn't been their recipe for. winning games. They usually play small. ball, which is exactly what they did. later off uh scoop. Luis Lara hits one.
up the middle. They score another run. And even though the Miz, you know, he he. didn't make it deep into this game. because the the Brewers or, you know, the the Dodgers worked a lot of counts, they turned it over to their very strong. bullpen and then late in the game, ninth. inning, uh, Mookie Betts pops out with. two guys on base. So, the Brewers hold. serve. They won the first game and I. think a lot of people thought, hey, if. the Brewers can win the first one, they. kind of have to because now we will. really see what the Dodgers are with how.
deep they are. They they go to another. ace. Yamamoto's going to start game two. So, uh, massive that the Brewers got the. first one, though, because now they have. the mo they have the momentum and I. think feel like they can kind of play. around with things a little bit. So, they did what they always do. They. played great defense. They got a big hit. and uh that was it. >> Guardians raise tonight at 8:00 p.m. on. TBS. Dodgers Brewers 5:00 p.m. on Fox. And tomorrow, the NHL's cooking frozen. frenzy. All 32 teams, 16 matchups, one.
night right here on ESPN properties. Hockeyy's cooking, baseball's cooking, football's alive. The WNBA is having. attendance. They can't get into a. building big enough for their playoffs. >> Got to figure it out. >> 3,500 seats will be a packed house. That'll be a great atmosphere. Trying to. get a little bit more in there to watch. some magic. Sports are delivering in a. massive way. D But we're so incredibly. lucky for all of you. >> Hell yeah. Can't wait. Everything you. talked about WNBA playoffs, talk about. the Valkyries. That team's only been in.
existence for a couple years. They're. making it. The Dreams making it. Awesome. times to be a sports fan right now. >> Debbot, who's your pick for tonight? Rams, Bills. >> Oh, >> Rams. >> Toxic table. Rams, Bills. Who you got? >> Rams. Bills plus three and a half. >> Tone, who do you got? >> Uh, Rams. Better defense. >> AJ, who do you got? >> Give me the Rams. >> Wow. Little split house. Whose house? Rams. host Monday Night Football. tonight. Monday Night Countdown starts. at 6. On the other side, we got all the. overreactions from around Twitter. Ty, how were they today? >> Pretty solid today. Very good, especially with a couple of the late. game, you know, gaffs and stuff like. that. People were either very happy or. very pissed this morning. >> Good. >> I'm excited to hear the Twitter heroics, the X accounts that deliver the gems. every single week. They might have. turned against me as well, so I can't be. scrolling as much, which is why I look. forward to this beautiful overreaction.

Hello beautiful people and welcome back. to this fantastic marvelous overreaction.
Monday October 12th 2026 hour three of. the program begins right now. FOOTBALL. >> FOOTBALL is the greatest NFL week five. Sunday slate delivered from morning into. night and tonight the Buffalo Bills. travel here to Sofi Stadium as Monday. Night Football Josh Allen and Matthew. Stafford will do battle to wrap up this. fantastic weekend of football. Josh. Allen in the Buffalo Bills getting three.
and a half in Los Angeles against the. Rams. Aaron Donald set to return and. play football again. Matthew Stafford. going crazy. Puka in his second week of. returning after having a little bit of a. groin injury. The tale of the tape says. the offenses should be great. Now, how. will the Buffalo Bills defense fare. against a wildly weaponized offense like. the LA Rams have? We shall see. Monday. night countdown starts at 6:00 p.m. Eastern. Cannot wait to get out there. with the lads and uh countdown to the. kickoff as football has been delivering.
in a huge way. It's not just me here in. Sofi. Little bit of a breeze. Had a. little rain earlier. >> Feels like it's a nice fall day in LA. Back in Indianapolis is a man who's a. college football national champion, Super Bowl champion, Rder Cup winner, AJ. Hawk. What up? >> Looks like the sun came out there over. in your LA, right? Yeah, there's a. little bit of sun. There's still some. overcast. The rain earlier was pretty. wild. Everywhere we have gone has. seemingly got rain whenever we were. there. It's doing well with the. allergies. I think that's helping all of. us. But the Los Angeles weather is going.
to continue to blossom as the day goes. on. And I think tonight we're about to. have an environment and an atmosphere, a. game that we're going to talk about for. decades. AJ, I think tonight has a. chance to be epic. AJ Hawk, you've been. seeing the board pretty well. Right. before we went to the break, you said. you like the Rams there. Let's make our. official picks to see if you can. continue seeing the board. Well, Bills. at Rams. Rams favored by three and a. half. AJ Hawk, who do you like? How do. you like it, >> man? To three and a half points, it.
gives me a a little bit of worry because. I did I chose the Rams before we went to. break. I'm not going to waffle. I. definitely still am taking the Rams. I. think they win by seven. But I love this. Bills team. I love what Josh Allen is. able to do, but Tony even mentioned it. I like that Rams defense a little more. than I like that Bills defense right. now. And I just think uh Matthew. Stafford's gonna have a magical night. I. think you're right, Pat. This may be one. of those kind of shootout type games. where we see some highlevel QB play. So, it's gonna be a fun game, but give me. the Rams minus three and a half.
>> High level QB play. I think there's. going to be great running play. The. reason why I wanted to hear what you. were saying is strictly because you're. seeing a board. Well, I'll ride with you. as well. Not that it matters for me. Nine-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler is. back in Thunderdome. D But, how do you. see this game going tonight? And I. genuinely believe there's a chance that. we have an epic Monday night. Do you see. the same? >> Absolutely. You got two phenomenal. quarterbacks in a controlled environment. when it comes to weather. So, you always. love that for the over sitting at 54 and. a half right now. Um, you talked about, we talked about it earlier, DJ Moore got. banged up for the Bills. So, I am more.
worried about their offense even though. they still have great playmakers. I'm. going to stick with my Rams pick because. of their wide receivers being healthy. against those Buffalo Bills quarterbacks. who have not been great so far this. year. We talked about the tight end. usage around the league. I think they. only ran like nine snaps last week. The. Rams did with multiple tight ends on the. field with uh Devonte and Puka healthy. So, I'm I'm going with the Rams. I think. Matt Stafford has the bigger day than. Josh Allen today. Tonight, >> uh I um I hope tonight lives up to.
what it could be. Now, that would mean. the defenses are going to be ass. I uh I. like the Rams. >> Sounds like Debbuts does as well. >> Let's go to one half of the hammer. Cowboys, what are the percentages of. bets on this evening? >> Uh, they are on the Rams minus the three. and a half. It's it's like almost 5050. uh in this one. So, it's kind of a. split, which is not surprising to me. The last time these two teams played was. 2024. It was a 4442 game. Um, so, you.
know, same same coaching staffs as far. as the offensive side of the ball um and. for the Rams just in general pretty. much. But a very very highscoring uh. affair the last two times uh or sorry, the last time these two teams met. talks. the table at Boss Connor and at Tai. Schmidt pulling for points or what are. you looking at this? I know Conman's. worried the Bills might get hot and even. though the Patriots and Drake May are. playing better than they've ever played. what the Bills have, the New England. Patriots don't. So, you're pulling for. the Rams. Is that accurate con man? >> Uh, actually, no. I do think the Bills.
cover this one. I do think it's going to. end up being one of those 442 tight. tight games. Maybe comes down to some. late game heroics, but yeah, pulling for. points for sure. the Bills, you know, I'm not really worried about them since. we just beat the piss out of them in. their own house last week. But yeah, I. think this is going to be an all-time. classic and I expect a lot of points. Josh Allen, uh, two touchdowns is plus. 500. >> Okay, something to chew on. >> Rushing. >> Yeah, two two uh rushing touchdowns. Yes, >> I got to trade that over here in LA.
>> Oh, no. >> Trade it up. >> Trade it up. >> It's available. It's available. It's. available. It's available on DraftKings. I trade it up. Sorry, Ty. Go ahead, foul. No, I I was just going to say the. hook definitely does uh scare me a. little bit, but at the end of the day, um points is kind of all I I I don't. know why I kind of like just a 3834 Rams. victory. I think they've kind of been, you know, a little bit underwhelming so. far. And do the Bills have enough? Uh we. will see. But yeah, at the end of the. day, I think the the over is what I am.
going to confidently hammer tonight. >> Okay. Nothing is a guarantee in this. world of sport. Obviously, we can lose. Uh, so if you agree to gamble. responsibly and you are of age in the. United States of America, we'd love for. you to come join us on the best sports. book on earth, DraftKings. Okay, there. are people that have Mondays that are. fantastic and there are people that have. Mondays that are ass. It is time to head. to the internet to see how these fandoms. are going. I put out a tweet this. morning saying, "Hey, listen. It's.
another magical overreaction Monday. I. can't wait to hear from all of you. All. you have to use is the hashtag. >> I don't want to overreact but. >> got a lot of responses. Became a top. trend in the United States. We. appreciate everybody participating and. also happy Columbus Day. That was tough. to move off the top. AJ, >> is that today? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Wow. You know what? That's right. I did. not even uh it went right through my. over my head because I was so focused on. the ball we had this weekend. >> Yeah. I understand a ball is certainly a.
distraction for everything else. happening in our lives. But Tony, how. does your family feel about Columbus. Day? >> In this house, she's a hero. Okay, that's how we feel about it. >> Happy Columbus Day. Let's move along. This uh first overreaction is from in. the Thunderdome. Hello everybody. Good. work tonight. # I don't want to. overreact, but. >> Toro finally reverses the curse and the. Texans finally win. Steelers too. The. power of the terrible towel is real and. the spirit of Myron Cope is yoying all.
over the kingdom of football heaven. Smart play here by Toro Nick. I think we. can all agree on that. >> Absolutely Pat. It's a long and fabled. history. The curse of the terrible. towel. The Bengals have suffered it. The. Titans have suffered it. Uh Joe Dirt and. those Jags have suffered it. And the. Houston Texans found out it's not. something you want to trifle with. Their. season's done. It's ruined forever now. And uh you know, good luck. come back. next year, try again. >> They just traded for Marvin Harrison Jr. I don't know if they're done just yet.
>> Okay, Toro had a great weekend putting. that back together. How about uh the. Super Falcon walking the highwire? >> What was that all about? And then did he. end up falling and just kind of. crotching that thing? Cuz I saw a video. of him walking and then I saw a picture. of him just sitting there crossing that. Unbelievable stuff here out of Freddy. the Falcon, out of Super Falcon, out of. Hotlanta Falcon, Mr. Falcony, whatever. the name is. What a gimmick here, Debbut. We got these mascots literally.
risking their lives for entertainment. value for us. >> Oh sh I mean, that is an unbelievable. gimmick. I'm kind of worried. Did he. shave his legs with sh is that? Yeah, that's my only concern there. But this. is an unbelievable gimmick by him or. her. >> You know, these bird legs get how they. get. And uh Freddy the Falcon. Falcon. Freddy. Freddy, fat Freddal, whoever the name is, >> Flying Freddy. We appreciate Flying. Freddy for the Falcons doing this for. the good of the team. And also, Jack's. him. Deville is back door with his old.
tricks out in London just sending it off. the lights. I know the Brits were. thinking to themselves, "What the hell. is this? It's a madman in a suit that. does that every single game." I like the. development and the evolution of what is. expected from these mascots. You better. send it from the ceiling or we don't. want to see it. Jack Sim Deville is. playing his own game. AJ, >> he is getting back to to Freddy the. Falcon. Like it's like a what? A slack. line. Is that what they call it? He's. slacklining across like the the top. Do. we have any idea how it ended? Like we. didn't see a Hey, here we go. I forgot.
the end of the line or I finished up. I. fell. I splatted on the ground. >> You didn't hear? >> No, I didn't. >> Didn't end well. >> That's all I see. I saw him straddling. the thing. That's all I saw. >> He actually got up and flew out of the. stadium. >> like there we go. Boom. And then we cut. to black. What happened? Did he just. fall off the fall off there? >> Thought he had the roof over. >> Yeah, >> I guess you're right. I mean, he's a. bird. Why would we care if he falls? >> Great. Yeah. Why Why are we worried. about him? Yeah. He just flings out. birds. >> That's true. >> Falcon's not one of them, though. >> Flamingos.
>> Falcon's actually the fastest bird in. the animal kingdom. So, >> yeah. What's that Miami Subs one? I. think you just said it there, AJ. Flamingo. >> Flamingo. >> Are they Are they non-flying? >> Yeah, they're flightless bird. >> No, I thought they could fly. Ostrich. >> Penguins. Penguins. Flamingos. >> Ostrich. Turkeys. Technically, >> they can just glide. >> Oh. >> Oh, they fall with style. >> Buzz like. >> Yeah, like Buzz. Yeah. >> Yep. >> Yeah. I thought. >> I mean, how can you Can you be a bird. and not fly? >> Yeah, we just.
What makes you a bird then? >> You have your babies by eggs and they. hatch. >> That's it. Believe. So, >> okay. So, is a snake a bird? >> What? No, >> THEY HAVE BABIES WINGS. OKAY. Wings. without not wings and you can't fly. though. >> Is a snake a bird? Don't be a. >> I'm just I mean I'm just thinking in. real time. You guys gave me no answers. So. >> Well, no answer. >> Well, no. You can't say just because. they hatched through eggs and they have. wings. >> Here we go. >> 60 living species of flightless birds.
The ostrich, the penguin, the emu, the. casawari, the kiwi, obviously the ria. That some never taken to the sky. >> Smaller. What about the cockaoo? >> The cockaoo. >> The cockaoo. >> The cockaoo. >> The cockaoo will fly away. That's where. these things get really smart. You got. to keep them caged and they clip their. wings cuz they can talk and they can. leave you. That's one of the issues uh. that they have whenever you have those. as a pet. But yeah, age. It came from an. egg and they got wings. It's a bird. Not.
all of them can fly. Some of these. things got to run like their little. asses often think to themselves, well, why do I get wings then? And they just have to they have to talk. about that their whole lives. >> Why do we put wings on them? >> Style points. >> Wait, what? >> Who's we? >> What? Who is we? I don't know. I'm. asking you. The universe. God. Yeah. Like I. >> If I give you wings, that's kind of like. a I don't know. That's kind of cruel. that you can't fly if you have wings. >> Yeah, but these birds are just happy for. life. Maybe you should think about life. that way. >> You're right. Good for them. Great. It's.
all about attitude and effort and it's. all about like how you respond to your. things going on around you. You're. right. Okay, I get it. >> These birds think about what they have, not what they don't have. >> Glass half full. Mhm. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Absolutely. >> Actually, we have no idea. These birds, we we don't we don't know anything. >> Well, you're saying they got a bird. brain. So now these guys got a bird. brain and they can't fly. Wow. AJ, you're really taking shots at the Ria. and the Casawari and the emu and the. ostrich, aren't you? Jeez, those are. entire species. They were on Noah's Arc. I'll have you know somehow they ran. their little feet, got in there. Okay, let's go to the next reaction, shall we?
This one's from Debut. # I don't want to. overreact. We alluded to this earlier. Being a. bandwagon fan has backfired on me. My. Dolphins still defeated. My Colts and. Eagles fall below 500 after another L. My only team with a winning record. Bears bench quarterback too after. throwing his second meatball sub. They. put Case Kamate did the same thing. Might be time to just pick one team to. suffer with for the rest of the season. We haven't thought about this and you've.
always said this, Deb, but you've said. more teams give you more opportunity for. happiness. What about more opportunity. for despair? It feels like that's what. you're living right now. I don't like. that. Do you bud? >> Yeah, I'm just like AJ just mentioned. I'm a glass half full type of guy and. and I like being able to swap teams out. For example, swap the Chargers out this. year for the Bears. Things were looking. good because I don't want one team, one. group of young men to control my. happiness for five, six months. But. like, hey, this past week going to have. rough weeks like this. Don't know if. it's an overreaction quite yet. Going to. sleep on it. Come back tomorrow and see. if I'm going to make some trades. Uh but.
right now it's tough. It's it's a tough. outlook right now. Hopefully these guys. can figure it out. But um I mean this is. an absolute show. Four teams going. on for in the weekend. That's tough man. >> Yeah, it's tough. We never thought about. that, but never thought about that. We. always thought at least one would show. up for you. >> Turns out I think if you picked a couple. more, they'd all would have lost. It's a. tough time. Let's go to Ambosi. Uh. Ambos, I believe. Amber # I don't want. to overreact, but. >> the Chargers have the worst roster. management in the league. Four rookies.
on your O line. throwing a Dave from. Dairy Queen and Will from Walgreens. No. preparation equals setup for failure. All this money and nothing to show for. it. Fire Joel Hortiz now. >> That's Chargers fans losing their mind. Con man, we had high expectations. I. couldn't even imagine the Chargers. faithful in what they've thought and. what they've seen now. >> Yeah, I'm assuming they're melting. I've. seen a lot of them saying, "Hey, we. probably should have known this going. back to training camp on how everything. looked during practice." But it is. insane. Uh we were talking about it.
before the program. It's one of those. things like is Justin Herbert just one. of those quarterbacks that's going to be. cursed by, you know, injuries to his. entire team throughout the year. Is it a. front office thing where the players. that they're picking up just end up. being bad? I I really don't know. It is. mindboggling. Out of all the teams, you. know, we've talked about the Titans. being the worst team in the NFL. The. Chargers are the worst team in the NFL. because all the money they've spent and. they have no results whatsoever across. the board. you feel a little bad, but at. the same time it's like, hey, at least I.
don't root for this team. Uh, they suck. There is no hope. You're kind of. starting to think, hey, you know what? Maybe if we get Jeremiah Smith, it'll. solve all our problems. And he actually. might for a lot of NFL teams. >> Yeah, maybe. He's unguardable. How will. he fair in the NFL? We shall see. Let's. go to the next overreaction, shall we? This is from TC Carr. # I don't want to. overreact, but. the Eagles are dead. Nick Serriani needs. to be taken out behind the shed and put. down. There is no more dog mentality.
Hell, a dog would make better coaching. decisions. The flower is dead and. rotted. Time for a change in Philly. A. lot of this, I assume, Ty. >> Yeah, and this is actually one of the. more, you know, kind of tame ones. because a lot of the ones that were out. there, you know, weren't really. appropriate for the show. Really going. after coach Serriiani. Uh so yeah, I it. crazy to think guy's been to two Super. Bowls. He's won one. They've made it to. the playoffs damn near every year. But. uh that's what it that that's what it is. when you are the Eagles head coach and.
people are officially done with coach. Serriani. So boy, I I I hope they win. next week. They better otherwise it's. going to get even louder. >> 8 seconds. They could have potentially. had that. Instead, Cam Little and the. boys Devon Hamilton at Longnapper steal. a win in London. Let's go to the next. overreaction as Sofi Stadium is about to. come alive with rehearsals. This one's. from at Commander Post. # I don't want. to overreact, but. >> I would have rather been in Hiroshima. on August 6th, 1945.
than on my couch witnessing the dumbest. play in the history of football. Dan. Quinn is the 283 man for life. This team is cursed and would never be. good again. Trade and fire everyone. It's over. Man, >> that was tough, man. It was tough. >> That was a good one. >> Yeah, I don't think that's over yet. >> You're aima. >> That That's a fair reaction, I think. Yeah, that's Yeah, checks out to be. honest. >> Wow. I mean, they definitely thought.
there was another quarter of overtime. coming. But. >> I didn't know you could be that bummed. out to a football game. I mean, Commander Post, we're pulling for you. serious te's and peas as you get to. another week. And I forgot, you know, everybody blamed Shanahan for that 283. He was offensive coordinator. You forget. DQ was down there. >> and that was just that was bad. They. talk about fire everyone. He did that to. the coaching staff before this season. Now we got this happening. Obviously. hope it doesn't happen for the good of. commanders post who seems to have a. dober don at this exact moment. Let's go.
to the next overreaction. It's from Leah. not at Leah Hobville. Hashtag I don't. want to overreact but. >> well here we go. Why does Chris Bard hate the Colts? Did. he intentionally leave us without wide. receivers this year and quarterbacks. last year and linebackers the year. before in 10 years of mediocre. quarterback play? Let JT and Buck go get. a ring and let's get some draft picks. for a new general manager says Leah. Tbud. Is this fair or not fair? >> Uh fair reaction right now. You. mentioned what two wins in the last 12. games. Uh you look at what we have out.
there. Yeah. Fair over reaction. >> Yeah, it is. Uh we have no number one. overall pick because we trained for soft. >> you know. Uh Marvin Harrison Jr. is. maybe coming to save day while he was. He's he's going to a division rival who. stinks and is just playing good for the. first time. So you know a little bit of. a hellacious time for the Indianapolis. Colts fan. Don't give up Leah. Let's go. to the next overreaction as this place. is starting to come alive. This from. Adam Muny at Kentucky dad of three. Congratulations. He was in pre-preg. three different times. # I don't want to. overreact, but.
>> the great philosopher Macho Man Randy. Savage once said, "The cream always. rises to the top." And that's what the. Packers are starting to do now. Destroyed the Bears, now getting Micah. back and healthy. Whoa, >> a little premature. >> Time to start to march to the playoffs. We have some breaking news actually on. that entire thing. He would not be. practicing this week in uh Sunday Night. Football Dallas Cowboys anticipation uh. participation week of practice. He was. supposed to be back. Now there's no. telling when he's going to be back. Ty,
I love where the Packers are. I love you. putting Micah on the train, but this was. a little uh disheartening to the. confidence of maybe Micah being back. soon, I think. >> Yeah, but they they said no setbacks and. he still looks good. So again, I think. this is just, hey, there's no point in. rushing this guy back. Um well, it would. have been awesome, especially with all. the storylines for him to play on Sunday. night against the Cowboys. But I need. Mike 100% and fully healthy. I don't. need him coming back out there and. blowing a knee out again because then. the season does really go down the. pooper. So, he needs to take his time,
comes back, whether that's next week or. the week after. That's okay. They've. kind of stayed afloat uh while he's been. out. I love that the Packers fans are. feeling that way and saying, "You know. what, Micah, take your time. We're able. to win." Especially because you beat the. hell out of the Bears, a team that we've. been very impressed by. Well, here's a. Bears fan who uh saw second string and. third string quarterbacks have success. and then obviously get smacked by the. Packers. Shout out to uh Ty T. >> Yep. >> I don't want to overreact, but.
>> I have no words for it. It was just a. depressing spectacle to watch. Fourth. down, failed. Second down, intercepted. Field goal attempt failed. We suck. Were. the Packers perfect? No. But they were. better than this Bears team. I'm done. with it. Cancun, here we come. >> Wow. It's without their starting. quarterback, DB, but. >> Yeah. And the the backups play great and. if you get lucky, your backup can hold. you afloat probably four or five weeks. Uh but usually you find out why backup.
quarterbacks are backup quarterbacks. And the Green Bay Packers, they had a. great uh they had great defensive but. offensively, I mean aggressiveness, they. were aggressive, especially when they. got around that middle of the field. Christian Watson Golden, they were going. deep. Bombs over uh the Bears at that. point. But um yeah, that's a fair. overreaction as well. They absolutely. stunk. Meatball subs all over the place. from that quarterback position. Bombs over. Yeah, >> I don't think they're.
>> next. This one from big chilling. Christian Watson's a hell of a player at. Blake W. What up, W? # I don't want to. overreact, but. >> Seahawks might be a one hit wonder. Can't run the ball. Darnold throwing. meatball subs. McDonald making stupid. decisions across the game. Also made. Evans look like he's in his prime. Schneider worst decision was letting K9. walk. on the panic button. I don't like this. at all. We just won a Super Bowl. I just.
became a fan. Niners are a good football. team. That guy gets two picks. There's. also two fumble recoveries, four. turnovers in total for the San Francisco. 49ers defense. It was a home game for. the Seahawks. Obviously, that place is a. massive home field advantage. They're. already giving up. AJ, I don't like this. out of the Seahawks fans. >> No, I think this is a bit of an. overreaction. We uh you should trust the. process in Seattle. I know you just. joined the uh you know you jumped on the. bandwagon with Seattle this year. I mean. you lost by three points to a great team. that is undefeated. So let's just move. on to the next week if you're Seattle. Flush this one and keep it going.
>> Oh. >> yeah. Let's just flush the ball. It's. NFC West. >> Flush the ball. Shanahan vers McDonald. going to happen forever. Flush the ball. I think Seahawks fans need not worry. And there there are franchise Yeah. I. love Big Guy. >> Love Big Guy dancing. Uh, great play. here, too. Yeah, I think um, Debbut and. uh, >> I guess Tai would be the right person. because he had such a long conversation. with Schneider, even though I don't know. all the ins and outs. We trust. Schneider, don't we, Debbut, to have a.
good football team? >> 10,000%. Even with this game, they had. an opportunity to win it. Uh, something. we never see JSN dropping the ball, but. yeah, this is a good ball club. you're. going to obviously uh who was it Dano. that said the representative for the NFC. is gonna come out NFC West. So they're. going to see each other another time and. probably in the playoffs. So yeah, it's. not the time to have your dober down. especially I'm talking to you new uh. Seattle Seahawks super fan. >> Okay. My daughter was a little don cuz. Colts do what they do and then all of a. sudden I got Super Bowl champions. They. said where it went out of bounds is.
where it counts and then they said the. call on the field stands. I don't know. >> Yeah. >> I feel like I feel like I could have. been a first down. I I I guess I don't. know the rules good enough in so many. different situations and this was one of. them. Thought for sure he got out cuz I. thought that line extends forever just. like the uh. >> the end zone does but I guess it. doesn't. I don't know. No, >> I don't know. We'll figure it out as we. go. Seahawks lose, Niners win. Seahawks. fans wondering if they're still the same. team. Jackson Smith and Jigma gets hurt. early in that game. Still goes off.
That's good news. Sam Darnold has a. couple picks. Hopefully he drops those. Let's move on to the next one here. Nice. overreaction from Dolores Connie at Miz. Cherry Red. Cherry Red. Hashtag I don't. want to overreact. But. >> who that nation is sick of it? Mickey. loser can't manage a team through a. paper bag. Kellen no more. Needs to go. >> Oh no. >> We disrespected the goat on his Ring of. Honor night by taking an L. Who that say.
going to beat them Saints? Everybody. #. everything must go # ain't Oh no. Oh no. I'll tell you the 20-y year anniversary. of the Superdome opening up and them. losing that was. that was tough. Drew Brees going in the. Ring of Honor and them doing what they. did. That's tough. But remember Shucks. Young and Kelly Mo, not Kelly, no Mo is. uh still developing a great team. I. don't think I give up on them yet, but. the NFC South has some other teams that.
are probably going to be representing in. the playoffs. And in the final. overreaction here, AJ is from Troutish. Treino. # I don't want to overreact, but. >> even with that win against the ash. cheeks of the AFC West, I got no faith. in this Broncos team. We can't run or. throw the ball. We can't just rely on. our defense to win games. We're so. says Charlie. It's better to be. and win than and lose. I. think you should stand by that. AJ, you're the man. Thank you for traveling.
out to Indie. Boys, great work. I'll see. you guys tomorrow back there in the. Thunderdome. Monday night countdown. tonight, 600 p.m. Eastern. I appreciate. everybody that tunes in as we kick off. and countdown to. >> potentially a biblical game here in SoFi. Stadium in the back. Great work, boys. Getting everything done. >> Oh yeah, boys. >> Draft design, boys. Great work. And uh. Gumpy, way to go, pal. Took a lot of. Dolphin shrap though today and stood in. the pocket. >> Welld deserved. We're a bad football.
team right now, but we got some good. young players. I'm still optimistic. about this squad. >> How come you didn't punk Dano at all? Remember last week you gave him a little. head thing and refused to do the hand. thing. You remember that? What happened. next week with that? >> Yeah, he knew not to come back over. He. didn't even come shake my hand when he. showed up. He was just patting his chest. like a goofball. Everyone could probably. hear it on the show, but yeah, he's just. dancing around in the corner. He was. playing drums off his chest here while. we were talking in the show within. earshot and everybody could see him. I. don't know if it was like a mating. thing. I I I don't know what he was.
doing, but he was doing himself jacked. up. How about he he was sitting there? He was sitting there doing this. >> warming up on the mound over here like. an absolute. >> right here. Yeah, he got here like 1250. and we went to 110. So from 12:53 once. he settled in, put his notebooks down, he started pounding the out of his. chest. >> You did a good job of dialing in. focusing mode with that was going on 6. ft away. Locked in. >> You're locked in. >> If you go back and see, there was a m. moment when Sher was talking. We were on.
uh big box with the three things beside. and I was I was trying to tell like Foxy. to get me off camera, but I just kept. looking and I just like what are you. what the are you doing? But it's. Dan Olowski. It's kind of how it is. Dumpy, can you talk about the. hospitality down there in Tuscaloosa? That place was spectacular. >> Yeah, there's nothing better than Bama. for me. Rama Jamas, getting to go to. Sabin's house and have dinner there and. going to the game in the suite. Just. phenomenal atmosphere from start to. finish in Tuscaloosa. >> Potential hurricane and the people. showed up in a big way at that Coleman.
Coliseum. That that felt big in there. Need a little Nick Sabin aura obviously. on his documentary weekend to make one. of these. >> Yeah, that was that was big. The first. one I shot, the first one I shot, I. think was going in, hits Sky Cam wire. >> That's when I know I'm in for one here. Was not going to get out of there. without making it. Shout out to Nate. Oats, the basketball coach. He invited. us into the um the basketball facility. and then I apologize to all of Bama for.
picking Georgia. Just felt like they. were probably going to win that one. And. then SAVE IT. BOOM. BIG RIGHT HAND. I get tag team down there BY THE ALABAMA. BASH Brothers and Bryce Young and Nick. Sabin. And then uh while I'm laying down. here, I realize we still got 20 seconds. left television. Okay. Maybe came down. here a little bit early. Did not find. that out, but just wanted to bark and. let him know how I felt. And to be. clear, to be clear, had a wonderful. morning. Pretty happy Mason missed here.
Shout out to Brantley Gilbert and Gavin. Adcock putting a little pressure on the. kid who was trying to get it up and. instead he pushed it right. Sam, his. friend, had all the faith in the world. They had talked about this for a year. It was a wonderful time. We appreciate. everybody that hung out and I think the. decision to go in the Coleman Coliseum. was a good one. It It was electrifying. in there and we're very very grateful. I've also been seeing it pretty good. whenever I go to a place called. >> Mhm. Okay. I see a lot of people that. used to say, "Well, he's just picking a. home team because he's trying to get,
you know, benefits." That's that's. certainly the case uh some of the time, you know, and uh some of these places. are very kind, but it does feel like um. in these games at this point, I don't. know what the rest of the year is going. to be like, you can kind of sense how. everybody feels. And it felt like. everybody was a little bit worried about. this Georgia team. It did feel like. that. And I I didn't sense that from. Kirby, you know, and if you heard his. pregame speech, I don't think he was. sensing any of that as well. And that. game could have gone either way. All.
these games that we go to could go. either way. I just try to get a sense. for how everybody feels. Felt like. everybody was thinking Georgia had a. real football team. >> How much did you waffle on this? Did you. waffle at all or you just knew from the. jump? wanted to pick Bama. because they came out in the middle of. like hurricane conditions uh or what. what were calling for hurricane. conditions in the state and everybody. showed up the way it did. The Sabbin. documentary was fantastic. Had dinner at. the Sabin house. I I mean wanted to pick. Bama back. Wanted to pick Bama. Whenever.
Dez goes Bama, Sabin goes Bama, Bryce. goes Bama, and I thought Georgia. It just it was I. waffled a lot. I wanted for the good of. the Bama people cuz how how well they. were taken care and how nice of us they. were. But that quarterback right there. is playing like a quarterback. Like. Gunner's playing like a very good. quarterback. He's a great athlete. He's. tough. Their run game was powerful, which they have been all season, but. like Gunner is the differencemaker. I. think he's he's making real throws right.
now. And uh Kirby's always going to have. the boys barking. And if he's gonna. continue to give these speeches and let. us hear them, I have a 100% faith that. this dogs team can continue to go. But I. waffled a lot, Dut. Thank you for. asking. I I I thank you for asking that. >> Yeah. Why Why do these speeches keep. getting out? I mean, I I like hearing. them, you know, especially when Kirby. was like, "Hey, let's turn this. in inside." I I love. hearing how what's going on with this. >> I don't know. That guy's had a hand over.
it, too, as they did the prayer, I. think. really hiding that he didn't want. to take it out there. >> Uh, >> good for recruiting. >> It is good for recruiting and also it's. good for us to know what Kirby actually. is when he when he sits on this show and. he has his little glasses on.
