The running. >> in Berkeley, California. >> YOU GOT IT.
THIS ONE'S for three. AJ Hawk. $5,000. [cheering]. Oh my god.
Hey, hey, hey. [music]. You make me want you. Put my hands up. Keep my hands up all again now.
USA. You.
come on in. Oh my. [cheering].
a [music]. danc [music]. [music]. >> [music]. [music].
[cheering]. >> The following program is a collection of. students talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic, informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss, or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans in the real.
world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further. >> Hey, let's go. This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. the line with a gorgeous assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers. You. stop. Damn it. >> Your friend, tell a friend something. nice could change [music] their life.
>> [music]. >> Hello beautiful people. and welcome. to St. [music]. Football. is here. Uh yeah, we're live from Lro, Pennsylvania, the home of the Pittsburgh. Steelers training camp for 58 seasons.
now. [cheering]. We had no idea how this was going to. turn out. We're talking torrential. downpour in storms yesterday. The fact. that the baseball team here at St. Vincent has allowed us to take up some. spots in their outfield, we are very. grateful. We are going to be chit. cchatting about ball being all the way. back and absolutely beautiful. It's the. first day of pads here in LRO, Pennsylvania for the Pittsburgh. Steelers. Now, [cheering]. there was a lot of question marks. because Mike McCarthy came out and said,
"I'm not tackling." Like, we're not. tackling. So, the injur said, All the injurers said, "Yeah, this guy's. from Pittsburgh. He's got a Yinszer. accent. He loves Pittsburgh. He's living. with his parents back home again, actually. But since he's gone to Green. Bay and Dallas, this guy's gotten a. little bit soft. That's what the. Pittsburgh people say. We're not. tackling. So then Mike McCarthy says, "Hold on." Now, I didn't say this wasn't. going to be a physical football camp. It's going to be a physical camp, but. we're not taking guys down to the. ground. With our roster right now and.
where we're headed, we feel very good. And I think the physicality is going to. show today. I think Mike McCarthy is. about the details, the attention, the. accountability, you name it. And the. boys are going to want to bump and. thump, especially for the lads who have. shown up to watch them. Now, this fan. base is a diehard one. They're invested. in every single second, every single. move, every single decision. Whenever. the Steelers win, this city's happy. Whenever the Steelers lose, this city is. not. It's been winning seasons for the. last 18 years, but it hasn't really felt.
like a Super Bowl was within the grasp. is a first deer Pittsburgh Steeler head. coach Mike McCarthy going to be able to. do it with Aaron Rogers coming back. [cheering]. WITH TJ WATT coming back. [cheering]. with Cam Hayward coming back. [cheering]. you name it there are names that these. Yingzers have known and come to love.
over the years but have they won a Super. Bowl for Pittsburgh? No. Is Mike. McCarthy the guy that can have them do. it? We shall see this season. And it all. starts today. First day of pads as that. horn just blew down on field one. We'll. have a twominute operation happening in. the 1:00 hour. There's good on good. taking place. Not just here, but a lot. of places around the NFL landscape. Football's all the way back. And for. that, we will celebrate the out of. I will tell you that. [cheering]. >> Yeah.
We'll be going around the entire AFC. North today. We'll be uh talking to. reporters in Cincinnati. And. >> that guy's got an orange shirt on. >> Guy's got an orange shirt on. It's for. Bullskin, a 10U baseball team out of. Connellsville. They won the entire. thing. Wearing orange though is tough. cuz not only is that Cincinnati, but. also we'll be visiting with reporters in. Cleveland, Ohio. [screaming]. And then OBVIOUSLY.
>> I WILL SAY now you are taught to think. that since birth here in Pittsburgh and. in Cleveland it's the same for. Pittsburgh but the team that used to be. in Cleveland actually moved and we'll be. live with Ian Rapaort live from. Baltimore Ravens. We don't know. I've heard that guy. Uh.
Pat Frymouth obviously the other day. saved a child from a scrum amongst. yenzers. And I'll tell you it was. indicative of everything that this could. possibly be. Pat Frymouth being a. superhero. Couple Yenszers getting. excited and then one helmeted Yinzer. speaking to both parties very loudly and. clearly through the camera. But this is. not just happening here in Pittsburgh or. in Latroe. It's happening everywhere. And uh today should be fun as we bounce. around. We'll also have coach Mike. McCarthy join us after practice. Aaron. will join us. TJ will join us. Cam will.
join us. Omar Khan, the general manager. will join us. Brett Kiesel will join us. And of course, [screaming]. and of course correspondent for the Pat. McAfee Show for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mark Kaboli will be. >> biggest pop. >> I don't know if they boot him or not. Feel like we're going to learn a lot. The toxic tables here at Boston Conor. and at Ty Schmidt con man. It always. feels good to get back into football. It. feels like this might become an annual. tradition of us starting to feel it for. the first time. Last [cheering] year.
whenever we came here, they had us set. up on a on a on a hill a little bit. It. was it was a dangerous situation. There's people falling. We move over. here to the baseball field. Torrential. downpour yesterday. Shout to the. baseball field. Shout to people coming. hanging out with us. But last year. whenever we watched practice, it was. after our show. Now it's happening. during our show. We were kind of. surprised by the lack of juice that was. kind of out there. It's really hot. It's. training camp. Everything's terrible. Feels like the building though from what. we've heard. New fresh voice in there. Not that it's a knock on Tomlin. But. anytime there's a fresh voice, fresh. ideas, everybody kind of has a little.
fire lit up under their ass. Con man, that's what it feels like here with the. Steelers. >> Yeah. 37 days to NFL football you. mentioned, but we talked to Mike. McCarthy all year last year. I mean, he. might be in there quoting Galileo like. he did. The things that he's probably. saying, the new kind of angle at. everything's fantastic. Pats or pads. It. feels like no matter what there will be. some sort of juice. But I know the fans. brought it. I mean, we're walking down. to the set today and some kid tells me. right away, boom, you don't know ball. Okay, [laughter] you don't know anything. about football. I thought that was. fantastic. Couple people saying, "Take. the hat off." That's never going to.
happen. But it is wonderful cuz you can. feel it. You can almost smell it. I. don't know what it is, but being in the. trobe, a football ton for a football. time, if that makes sense. Of course. Thank you. Uh, it does just feel fresh. It feels new, and I just can't wait for. 2026. >> Shout out to Sharkies last night. And again, Sharkies making an appearance. this morning. Also stopped by Eaten. Park. Got some smiley cookies. Love. everything about that. Got Pittsburgh. Steelers black and gold black and yellow. smiley cookies available now at Eaten.
Park. Shout out to Cheyenne up here in L. Troes Eden Park. That place was closed. at 11:00. We got there 10:56. Okay. Plenty of time. Yeah, Cheyenne. opened her back up for us. We obviously. very appreciative of that. It does feel. like ball is back. You talk about having. a Patriots hat on. I saw a German man. traveled in here with a Green Bay. Packers. >> uh jersey on as well. >> So, you know, football's being. represented well. Uh Ty Schmidt, the. Packers look to win it all this year. Were you surprised to see the German. fellow wearing the Packers jersey out. here or No, I was. I'm'll be honest.
>> Oh, yeah. Definitely. Definitely. Uh you. know, but again, we're trying to grow. the game. You know, we got we got. international football uh more than we. ever have before. And I I don't know. I. think he's kind of just feeling how I. am. Listen, I don't want to put a damper. on anything the Steelers are doing here. because I love coming to LRO. I really. do. And it's crazy how you mentioned it. It feels like we were here like two two. years ago. I mean, it feels so long. It's been right around a year. It's. crazy how much can actually change in a. year. A lot of similar faces, but you. know, I mean, it feels like a completely. new football team. I'll tell you what, I.
really do feel like this is the Packers. year. I'm sorry to Steelers fans. Maybe. we'll see you guys in the Super Bowl. See, but I love what I'm seeing out of. camp so far. I'm sure Steelers fans do. as well, but I I really do feel like. this is the Packers year and I'm sure. that German fellow does as well. >> He said good. I said I'm gross beer bit. and then I told him to go on and uh. fluke zo his way out of here. This. [laughter] is Pittsburgh Steelers uh. training camp. Speaking of that, let's. go to one HALF OF THE HAMMER. >> WELL, they hit it. Cowboys AP Tone.
Tone, great to get back and see the. Steelers. I saw you uh you were kind of. nebnosing all around this morning trying. to get a little bit more information. about what's going on with this team. What have you learned? How do you feel? And uh how exciting is it to be back. here at Steelers training camp for you? >> You know, obviously this is my job. This. is my profession, but at heart I am a. Steelers fan. So yeah, I was noosing. around. I was watching the walkthroughs. earlier. I was watching the offensive. defense. Not a lot of special teams. going on out there. Christian Coons was. being a little bit lackadical. Wasn't. working very hard. >> Uh but other snapper in camp, too.
Pittsburgh legend Shortier Valley, Duke. Kane. I think he's got some records at. Duke. He leads a all-time leader in. sacks at Dukane University. >> And he's a long snapper for the. Pittsburgh Steelers. Dog has a great. accent. Lot of pizzazz. >> Good Moxy. >> A lot of pizzazz on this guy. >> But I was just taking it all in cuz like. and and while I was taking in like the. hair was standing up my arms. It kind of. feels like seven is coming home this. year. And I'm not talking about Ben. Rothberger cuz he decided to make this. his home. I'm talking about the seventh. Lombardi Trophy coming home this year. The detail that Mike or Mike McCarthy is.
is developing in these guys this year. >> Detail. I know you wanted that. >> It is unbelievable. [laughter] Big. Mike's Big Mike came home to bring seven. home and I'm pretty sure that's going to. happen this year. >> It feels like it around the building. There's obviously a lot of good vibes, a. lot of new vibes. And uh if you look at. coaches and quarterbacks who have been. paired together in wins, you know, obviously think Andy Reed, Patrick. Mahomes, that's unbelievable. You know, Mike McCarthy, Aaron Rogers only have. 107 wins to go. >> Pretty good. >> Mike McCarthy comes back to Pittsburgh. Obviously, they don't want to do a full. rebuild, so they don't go with young.
coach. They don't try to fire everybody. They don't have to do that. They like. their team. Mike Tomlin decides to step. away after 18 years. An incredible run. Mike McCarthy comes in here. Aaron. Rogers, is he gonna stay? Is he not. going to stay? Well, he came out and. said his wife said he's allowed to have. another year. And Mike McCarthy. certainly helps the entirety of it all. He knows the offense inside and out. He. loves the offense inside and out. They. got weapons. Darius, I know that we're. obviously very heavy here Steelers at. the beginning and we'll certainly show. highlights from all around the NFL here. in a matter of moments, but why not the.
Pittsburgh Steelers? That really is a. question that I'm starting to ask myself. as I'm here. Whenever I wasn't here, first year coach, I mean, the AFC tough, >> especially with Daniel Jones back. in Indianapolis Steelers fans are scared. to death of the Indianapolis Colts. I. know that. >> that's never come out of any. >> I know that. Yep. I know that you guys. have nightmares of the horseshoe running. wild. They beat us by like 50 60. Yeah,
it was it was a bad matchup for us. Okay. Also, [laughter]. also we don't know what was going on. before. Maybe somebody, you know, some. Yinszer antics were potentially taking. place with our team. Who knows? We all. know that Danny Smith had Antonio Brown. out there to return a punt with four. minutes left up 28-7. So, Steelers may. be unethical ball there for a little bit. against the Indianapolis Colts, but as. we get here and we start remembering. what this Pittsburgh Steelers team can. be, who they can be, nine-year NFL vet, Darius J. Butler, it's hard not to get. excited about this team actually.
defensive side as well. >> Absolutely. You always start with the. quarterback head coach and quarterback. and obviously you got a chance with. Aaron Rogers, but when I think about. Pittsburgh Steelers football, the first. thing I think about is defense. So, you. got Cam Hayward, you got TJ Watt, you. obviously got JPJ who's probably looking. for some money this year, rightfully so. Jaylen R, what does he do this year? Yeah, he's got a back, maybe some. training camp contract back, but uh he's. a baller. He's he's put together a great. season last year. He's put together a. great young career. So, I'm excited to. see his next chapter. But this defense, Patrick Graham coming over, somebody I'm. very familiar with. I'm excited to watch.
the first day in pass cuz we were here. last year and we remember the first day. and the lack of juice. I don't know what. it was. What? >> It was weird, wasn't it? >> It was weird. It was odd. But now being. back, you act we were talking earlier uh. pre-show of like, hey, do you still miss. it at 40? No, I don't miss it much, but. around training camp time, this the time. watching the walkthrough, seeing the. adjustments, seeing all the players, talking to coaches. I'm excited to see. what we see today, especially that. two-minute drill we have later. >> Yeah. One o'clock there'll be a. two-minute drill. Live offense versus.
defense. First day of pads. Mike. McCarthy calling plays into Aaron. Rogers. Who will be the second string. quarterback? Who will be in that. conversation? We [cheering]. >> will hire. a lot of Drews. >> I don't know. Not a lot of. not a lot of. >> Mason. WILL. hire some people over here. >> Willard, baby. >> Now, I will say Mason Rudolph has done a. lot of good for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
as well. Drew Aller gets drafted very. high, high higher than a lot of people. to the Pittsburgh Steelers about the. future. He is a Penn Stater, so you. know, there's a lot of that happening. here in this particular place. But also, I think uh people thought Will was going. to be the next guy. They thought. everybody was going to hand off. Obviously, new head coach, obviously, you know, new ideas, new everything. How. can we make the most out of our picks? They bring in he's looked good from what. we've seen. We've only seen a few clips. Drew's looked good. Will is beloved. I. mean, Will Howard is beloved for good.
reason. By the way, whenever we were. here in the off season, Will Howard was. who they were waiting for outside to go. into the Pittsburgh Penguins game. And I. think it was like TJ and everybody. I. think at the Pittsburgh Penguins game, Will Howard was the one in the middle, like operating almost as if he was. quarterback of the team. I think the. city has seen that. I think the locker. room seen that. But Drew Aller with what. he's potentially could become with Mike. McCarthy, a quarterback whisperer, talking to him with how tall he is and. how talented he could potentially be. Future certainly bright. And then Mason. Rudolph, hey, that old dog can get it.
done. >> Yeah, see he can. Here's a live look at. uh the quarterbacks getting after a. little bit of a warm-up. First day of. pads. Will hired nearest to us there. Obviously, Aaron Rogers got a cool lean, which leads to uh college football. national champion, Super Bowl champion, RDER Cup winner. Ladies and gentlemen, former president of the great state of. Ohio, >> AJ Hall, >> Hakaco, we.
bet. Hey, can you imagine Coach Mike if. he hears that? What are we What we. doing? What we doing [laughter] down. there? >> I didn't know we brought a circus in, Tom. It's an AJ Hawk circus. I know, man. Uh, let's talk about Mike. Let's. talk about Aaron. There's a lot of. photos of Aaron and Mike kind of hugging. up on each other. Obviously, when you. were at the Packers, they were together. That was the beginning of your entire. career. 107 of those wins. You probably. saw all of them if I had to guess. Aaron. and Mike at this stage, what should they. be expecting? And what should everybody. in uh maybe the league be thinking?
because I don't think anybody's like. Aaron Rogers going to win a Super Bowl. with Steelers outside of Pittsburgh. outside of Steelers fans, which. obviously is huge. Do you think that's. uh very wrong? And why do you think Mike. McCarthy and Aaron Rogers potentially at. this time for the Pittsburgh Steelers is. perfect if you feel that way? >> I don't think it's a I don't think it's. out of the uh you know, it's definitely. a possibility for them to go on a run. and find a way to get hot in the. playoffs and do that. I've seen how. special Aaron is and I know what it. means for Coach Mike to be here. We. would joke about it all the time. every. single team meeting, every single. meeting before a game, like the Saturday.
night meeting, McCarthy would mention. something about Pittsburgh, some street. he grew up on, some young kid driving a. dump truck that he used to know. All of. these Pittsburgh stories that I'm sure. he probably continues to tell these guys. now, and Aaron has heard a bunch of. them. But I think there's something. about I don't know, something about. being here, too. This is like its own. country, it own little world. You drive. up here, I would imagine these people in. a good way. I'm saying I think it's. awesome. Pittsburgh alone is, but when. you get to Trove in this college, I. don't know what it is. I've only been. here a couple times now, but I.
understand why they keep coming back. >> I love the people that travel up for. training camp. >> Couple people with full pass up there. >> Different breed. Really different. >> Full pass. >> Training camp crowds are the best. Hey, good to see you guys. >> Hell yeah. [applause]. >> Good to see [cheering] you guys. >> By the way, I had an inside source tell. me that Mike's first meeting, he may. have shown a video of how they make. steel in the city just to make sure the. team knew exactly where they were. coming. I think he showed them the. football taunt. I I think he potentially. did to let them know that what this. place is, what it means to this city. And as their practice continues, I think.
people will be meandering around St. Vincent. Obviously, there's hills. everywhere. And we appreciate the hell. out of the opportunity. Also got two. coppers right up there. If you guys want. to smoke marijuana or something, don't. do it [laughter] cuz they're watching. you. Okay? Those guys right there are. watching you. Now, if you go up behind. that building, from my understanding, I. think there's a couple people that have. been up there. So, just something to. think about. Before we get back to NFL. training camp highlights that have been. happening all around the NFL, and it's a. beautiful thing that this is what my. algo is, we have to cover some stuff. that has happened in other sports as. well. Baseball's dead.
>> Oh, what do you mean? >> Yeah, >> it's done. Trade deadline is. >> No, [cheering]. >> forget about it. >> All the people that know baseball. Okay. >> Make sure the two. >> Okay. So, >> so can sell the team. >> Okay. So, so the sell the team chant. comes from the Pittsburgh Pirates fans. that are here. And as soon as Paul Ske. got drafted to the Pittsburgh Pirates. and then debuted as a young lad and go. on to win the titles. Everybody in.
Pittsburgh was just like this stinks cuz. it's been good to see you dude. Almost. acting like they were the Indianapolis. Indians which is the AAA team for the. Pittsburgh Pirates. That's how the. Pittsburgh Pirates fans were immediately. acting. I know the Indianapolis, >> that's [laughter] their name. That kid's. got a jersey right there. >> Yeah, we're gonna keep it moving. You. >> Indianapolis Commanders. >> Everybody in Pittsburgh's immediate. response to Paul SK being as good as he. is is, "Oh, this guy's never going to be. a Pirate for the rest of his career. He's going somewhere else." And that. leads to a conversation that is.
happening around the broader scope of. baseball. The Pittsburgh Pirates fans. aren't the only fans that feel that way. There's a lot of smaller markets, smaller cap teams that feel as if the. game, the league is completely rigged. against them. Yes, every owner could. spend, but clearly the Pittsburgh. Pirates owner is not going to, you know, he's not going to be doing it. And. there's a lot of other owners that are. like that. So, this new CBA negoti. ones. >> There's a lot of teams fan bases that. feel that way. And allegedly, from what. I was being told, if Scuba was to go to.
the Dodgers and they were to somehow. pick him up, trade, win another time, assign him to a deal, do a deferral. payment, do this entire thing, it. basically guarantees that a lockout's. going to be happening next year because. the fans are going to now say, "Hey, this is even more proving the point that. there needs to be a floor," which I. think everybody in Pittsburgh would love. if there was a floor that the owner had. to pay. And then the cap. Okay, if. that's going to be able to stop the Los. Angeles Dodgers from buying up every. good player in winning, we're suddenly. being with that. Players are saying the.
league's very healthy, the game's. healthy, everybody likes it. Why would. we change anything? This is a. capitalistic society. If they want to. pay us that amount of money, that's what. it is. And this is how it's always been. in baseball. So tell me why, Ty, Scooble. going to the Dodgers is basically a. hammer to a nail into a uh coffin of. baseball for next season. Uh you did a. pretty good job. I think a big part is. that because the the idea is that this. is already the best team. Uh there's a. bunch of stuff that's coming out now.
with when the Dodgers went bankrupt, you. know, like a decade ago that they worked. out some sort of deal with the MLB. So. they get to uh they get tax money that. no other team gets. So they already are. operating with like, you know, around. like a hundred million more dollars than. other teams kind of have access to. But. it's it's really what you mentioned like. they are able to get all these good. players because they're working within. the system. They are deferring all these. contracts. You talked we talked about. like the Brewers and the Rays who are. two small market teams, lower payrolls.
who would have got scubable for a. rental. And then the idea was that. regardless of what happened this season, he was going to go sign with the Dodgers. and he was going to sign a massive. contract and he was going to defer. money. So they can keep kind of just. adding all these allstar players and. they're not paying these guys until or. they're paying them until 2043. I think. an idea is that maybe uh some of these. like general managers and stuff like do. it's not just owners want a salary cap. as well because it's gotten to the point. where it makes their jobs easier. >> Lowest ERA since 2022. You have Scoo.
2.46, >> Blake Snell 2.61, 61. Show Otani 265. Yoshinoba Yamamoto 2.70. Four out of the. top five best pitchers since 2022 are. all now members of the Dodgers cuz. they're spending more money than. everybody else. >> Yep. >> Conor, >> it's linked AGAINST THE PIRATES. >> YEAH, A LITTLE BIT. IT definitely is. Uh. and and I think. >> THE OWNER COULD SPEND THE MONEY THOUGH, so it's kind of on the owner in the end, which is what the players are saying.
probably could have, but I'm sure the. Tigers probably think the same thing as. the Pirates. And I think that's why they. did this. Like no matter whether there. was a deal or not that was better than. the one cuz basically everyone said, "Hey, those three players that the. Dodgers had to trade all stunk anyways,". which is [laughter] kind of crazy when. you think about it. But I I almost think. that the Detroit Tigers said to. themselves, "Hey, we need a salary cap, too. Let's just ship this guy, start the. lockout. Everyone will be pissed at the. Dodgers. They won't be pissed at the. Tigers, and then we can kind of figure. it out from there." But it does feel as. though this inevitably will benefit more.
teams than it hurts because this is. ridiculous. >> Yeah, it is. It does feel a little bit. ridiculous. But to the Dodgers fans, enjoy it, man. Nice. Yeah. >> If your team was just buying up every. good player, this is what the Yankees. used to be. >> Yeah. They didn't defer the contracts, though, I think, which is what a lot of. like. >> Oh, so you guys had to pay that bill. right away. You couldn't just go buy. every single of every single of the best. player in the league, give them a. million bucks, and say, "Don't worry. about it. We're going to pay you through. 2072.". >> Millions of money in future deferred. money. The Dodgers currently have 1.112. billion. >> Jesus.
>> And then the Mets have 181 million. That's second. >> I mean, >> okay. Yeah, little bit of a This lays it. out right here. [laughter]. >> OKAY. GOOD LUCK, BASEBALL. Good luck. Seems like next uh summer. Good. >> We got the Women's World Cup. >> Yeah. >> We got the WNBA. >> Okay. >> Ball league World Series. >> Why is the WNBA even exist, by the way? Why Why does it even I don't know. That's a whole another question. I mean, I love where we're at. league. What do. you mean? >> No, I agree. That's what I'm saying. 30. years in. But why was it ever created?
That should just be. >> great question. >> That should just be a question that's. asked. >> Women need a league. >> Duh. >> Hello. [laughter]. >> Yeah. Yeah. But 30 years in, I don't. know what. But so. >> up and to the right. >> Up and to the right. Good luck out. there. >> Good luck. >> But anyways, THAT'S NEXT off season. strictly because the MLS decided to move. their schedule. Actually, >> they decided to move their schedule. So. we don't even have ML. We don't have. Messi. We're going to have Messi next. summer. That's what's coming. >> Move it back. >> Baseball's done. And I don't like to say.
that because I thought a deal could be. made by these two. But boy, with the. Dodgers just every good player and 1.1. billion in what if for some reason the. Dodgers don't win at all this year. >> They just got swept by the Red Sox. So. >> yeah, they did. >> I'm saying obviously everyone's. penciling them in as chance, but what if. they are not the champs? Does that. somehow save them not having a lockout? It's a good push. >> Tom Digs, you see that sign right behind. you? >> Our Lady of Joy, that one. Hey Pat. McAfee, my mom taught you at Our Lady of. Joy CCD. >> Nice bless you. God bless you. >> You went 76.
>> I thought you were like me where. sometimes your friend brought you to. CCD. >> That's Yeah. >> Yeah. [laughter]. >> Yeah. >> We uh Catholic Church school, district. school. >> Saturday morning, I think, right? >> Soccer on Saturday. >> Saturday morning. >> Yeah. Tough. >> It was all school. It was all Hey, it. was all the elementary schools, though. It was the only place really that all. the elementary schools went. So, you. know, I got a chance to see people from. other schools. You know that was kind. >> guys love ball like that was that was. little league football time. >> The wrong the wrong season, bro. I think. it was in spring, you know. >> Oh, I forgot you went we' wear our. football pants. I'm.
>> from Florida. like noon. >> I'd wear cleats and pants and then go. straight to the game or practice. >> You got to remember up here it's not. 10,000° at noon like you guys have. >> You start dick hockey and like. that, huh? >> That true. >> Yeah. What other sports, D? >> What do you think? >> What other sports you thinking out here? >> Yeah. >> Uh what do they football town? >> Okay. [laughter]. You watch the football. Hey, there's. there's a lot of people in a truck right. now saying Debbut needs to shut. [laughter]. >> I don't know what. that's exactly what it is. Uh, okay. We.
are here at Steelers training camp. Lucky to do as such. But I think we. should go camping. Don't you think we. should go camping? >> Hey, let's go camping, shall we? LET'S. HEAD TO THE CINCINNATI Bengals training. camp. >> SMU alumni man who covers the Bengals. for ESPN. Ladies and gentlemen, please. welcome. >> BEN [screaming] BABY. [cheering]. HELL YEAH. >> I GOT TO I GOT to correct you off jump. though. I teach at SMU went to North. Texas. So a bit of a difference.
professor. Sorry. Yeah, we did have. researchers do that. Uh and research. named Conor and up. Listen, I I don't. need angry calls from the alma mater. saying you ain't repping us properly. So. go mean I understand. >> Home of Joe Mean Green by the way. Home. of Joe. >> Good luck with Neil Brown this year. >> Okay, we like that. Neil Brown's the new. head coach. She was wearing a backpack. for the University of Texas the last 3. years. He should be phenomenal for North. Texas. We like the mean green. We also. appreciate that you're joining us. Uh, okay. You're live from Cincinnati. Bengals training camp. The only thing. we've really seen is multiple fights.
Can you tell me if that is kind of a. difference in the defensive edge coming. into this year or what is the big. storyline for you right now? >> Yeah, I I think that's that defensive. tenacity is something that that they've. been talking about a ton and it's funny. when all this was going down. I mean, Jamar Chase was where I'm sitting last. week and he was talking about I've never. seen that from Jaylen Davis that they. were want to jaw a little bit from DJ. Turner and in talking to these guys and. Brian Cook, their new safety, they. wanted to come out and kind of set that. intensity and they said, "Listen, you. can't be pushed around in this league.
You've got to be a physical defense and. they feel like they've really up the. ante this year." You know, I was just in. the locker room just a few minutes ago. on the other side of that wall talking. to linebacker Barrett Carter and he said. he feels like they're just now hitting. their floor and that floor is quite. high. There's they they feel like. they're making a lot of progress cuz. they know they were not good last year. and they've got to be better if they. want to get back into the playoffs. >> We saw Joe Burrow throw an absolute dot. to Jamar Chase. Feels like they're on. fire. Obviously, the offense is expected. to score 50 60 points a game. Is that.
reality for Cincinnati and is that how. they're viewing it? Are we going to run. the ball a little bit more? Are we going. to be a little bit more balanced team? You think, Ben? >> Listen, Pat, I think we're going to be. start playing maybe a little more. Midwestern football to a degree, potentially a nice balance between the. run and the pass, which as a Texan, I. don't know if I love, but in the AFC. North, you've got to play ball a certain. way and and they've got to try to figure. out a way for to find that harmony. between the run and the pass. Something. that's been talked about a ton. We've. seen a lot of under center stuff in. training camp. It's been a big topic of. conversation. Now, Joe Burrow,
specifically a shotgun guy for for the. bulk of his career. He's preferred that. a good amount. He did say, "Listen, we've we've adapted over the years." And. he's open to doing whatever the offense. needs to be successful. And and as teams. try to take away Jamar Chase, take away. T. Higgins, they've got to find a way to. get Chase Brown those explosive plays on. the ground, those explosive runs, they. feel like that's what this team is. missing. And they want to go out and be. explosive again because when they were. cooking in 2021 and 2022, they were. hitting those big plays. They just. haven't been there. And so this off. season they're trying to manufacture.
those so they can get those playmakers. and get them what they're doing what. they paid them for. >> We're talking about the Cincinnati. Bengals here live from Pittsburgh. Steelers training camp. Ben Baby, North. Texas graduate live with the Bengals. AJ. Hawk, Cincinnati Bengal legend, has a. question for you, Ben. >> Yeah, Ben, we see Dexter Lawrence on the. graphic that we pat on here a little bit. ago. Uh, could you explain like the. impact he has had? We've seen clips of. Ted Carris talking about how tough it is. going up one-on-one against him in. practice, but what's it been? What's. that defense look like with Dexter. Lawrence there in the middle? >> Listen, that that defense has been.
getting after it. I I think the defense. single-handedly probably won today, first day of pads. They were out there. Burrow talked about the other day that. he can feel the pocket collapsing a. little bit more. Talked about that on. Sports Center earlier in the weekend. And you can feel that difference. They. wanted to go out and make that defensive. line of strength, you know, and in. talking to to Barrett Carter, the. linebacker, said, "What's the funniest. thing about having Dex uh on on the. defense?" And he said when Dex makes a. big play, he'll just out here just start. yelling in the middle of the play. I was. like, you mean like he'll just like yell. a boom or something? It's kind of like a. rapper adlib in the middle of a track.
Like they just hear that's how you know. that Dex is cooking and they feel like. that defensive line or and it's not just. him. They got Jonathan Allen. They got. Boy Maf drafted Cashes How. I think. Miles Murphy's going to said, you know, when Jamar Stewart comes back healthy, they've got high expectations for him. They understand that you have to have a. very deep and potent uh defensive line. and and if they're going to do that, they got to have that pass rush from the. interior. Something that I had been. hearing about going back to the end of. last season. So, it was not a shock that.
when Dexter Lawrence was available, they. were willing to trade the 10th overall. pick to make sure this defense is where. it needs to be so it can support all. those playmakers on offense. >> I love, you know, I just love that they. get rid of their best sacker. >> Yeah. and they're like, "We got to get. better on the Dline. [laughter]. Get the sacker out of here." And then. bringing in Dexi, everybody's like, "Yeah, they did that. They actually they. actually accomplished that." Which is. wild. Tone Diggs, Pittsburgh Steelers, AP voter, has a question for you. >> Yeah, man. When everyone talks about the. Bengals, they do talk about the defense. first and foremost. And the next thing.
that they talk about is can Joe Burrow. stay healthy? Are they going to keep him. upright? What's the additions there on. the offensive line? How do they feel. about that and Joe staying healthy for. this for this year again? Yeah, you. know, I I think they feel like on paper, I was just talking to somebody recently. that on paper, this is a much better. offensive line than they had when the. Bengals were really good in 21 and 22. In fact, uh y'all will enjoy this when I. was just in the locker room a few. minutes ago. I was just sitting. eavesdropping on Orlando Brown Jr. and. Daltton Risner and they were just having. a conversation. Dalton was uh munching. on a little light, I believe, black. cherry yogurt that they have on my food.
truck afterwards and he's just munching. and they're having a conversation about. how the defensive line was today. Orlando was talking about his sets and. they were going in and talking about. different techniques, where they need to. win at, where they feel like they can be. better. And I asked Dalton, I'm like, you know, do you mind if I just kind of. hang on and listen in for this. conversation? Like, yeah, of course. Told him I was going to come in here and. talk about it with y'all. And he said, you know, this is just a part of us. being locked in. When you know that we. are, you know, when you know who you're. next to for the entirety of the time, you can go in and work on those little. details. I mean, they spent a good 5 10.
minutes up until I left the room. They. were just sitting there talking ball, talking techniques, and and they feel. like they can do a really good job. And. and I think one thing to to note on. this, I think Burrow also carries a lot. of personal responsibility as well. I. think he's got to be able to pick his. spots on when to extend plays, when to. know to to check it down, and when to. see another down. I think that's going. to be part of his progression. I know. he's entering year seven, but I think. that's an important part of it, too. You. know, like in the fight game, you got to. know when to pick your spots uh to. really absorb contact. I think that's. going to be a big thing for Burrow as he.
tries to find that next level for him uh. as he tries to lead this team forward. >> Year seven's wild. Feels like just. yesterday he was losing his head against. Philadelphia Eagles. >> I saw I saw yesterday like Lamar and. Josh are year nine now. >> That's crazy. We're so old all of a. sudden. And you talk about his. progression. I do think he gets hit less. than he did at the beginning. I mean at. the beginning it was the most reckless. human I've ever seen on a football. field. Maybe like Andrew Luck levels up. trying to run people over. Patch Mahomes. last season kind of actually. If Joey. Bee's protected and able to spin it,
everybody's scared of Cincinnati, including these Steelers fans here. Ben, we appreciate you, brother. >> Appreciate y'all. >> Sick hat, dude. Sick hat. >> It is. >> It's a good hat. >> It's camp season, Pat. You got to have. good shade. You got to have good shade. Otherwise, you know, you're going to get. cooked out here. This ain't AMATEUR. HOUR. >> BEN, BABY. It. >> is Ben [laughter] Baby. You're the best, ladies and gentlemen. Ben Baby. Yay. >> Not a Ben Baby. legend.
>> They love him. >> There's an 80-year-old man blowing him. right here. >> Oh, come on. Makes. >> sense. Yeah, I like that. >> We like that Avetkin sign on fire by any. chance. >> Avetkin is better than God. >> Whoa. Whoa. >> Hey Pat, the champs are here. Bullkin. Love that. Collinsville team. Pat McAfee. and some guys. I do appreciate that. sign. Lot of signs here. Didn't I forgot. about the signs when we have, >> you know, game game day always has. signs. I forget that ours always has. signs as well. Good sign. And this guy. normally shows up. >> Sneaky best part.
>> No, that was the baseball team. Connellsville. They won the States and. then they went up to Long Island. They. beat the hell. >> We're all Mustang sign backer. >> We are all Mustang. >> Mfield return in Avengers Doomsday. Nice. >> Uh. roads. I love that. Let us pick. >> Does game day have somebody take down. inappropriate signs? >> Hi mom. How you doing? >> There's a mom on a FaceTime go rip in. half or something. >> There's a mom on a FaceTime there. If we. could all wave to this lady. >> Hey. Hi mom. Hey, Mom. It's Taco Bell. >> All right, let's move along. We're going. to continue to travel around. You're.
talking about Youngtown Bill. >> Talking about Youngtown Bill. >> We did run into a man. Well, a man kind. of came up to us last night as we. checked into our hotel here in town. He's from Youngtown. He had the biggest. bag of Taco Bell that I've ever seen. [clears throat]. >> He might be in a coma. >> We asked if he was bringing that for. others and he said, "No, actually, my. daughter chose not to come. This is just. for me.". >> Stay that much. >> That's Youngtown Bill football. How much. was the bag? 250. What is this? I would. say he ordered extra. >> He brought like a It was packed. >> extra lettuce. >> It was packed to the gills. I think he. did go with the lettuce cuz he wanted to.
roll the dice. >> Two hands on the bottom. >> Forced them to make him a triple double. >> We'd like to let Youngstown Bill know. from the parking lot yesterday. Some are. calling him Taco Bill. We appreciate his. energy. We needed that as soon as we got. there. We appreciate him just like we. appreciate all these people here in. Pittsburgh. Let's stay in the AFC North, ladies and gentlemen. Let's head to. Cleveland. Yeah. >> Governor Browns for ESPN. Ladies and. gentlemen, joining us now, Daniel. Oousey. >> Yeah, Daniel.
>> They're not talking about you, Mr. Oay. Fousey. Am I saying that right, by the. way? Yes, >> you're getting it. You're getting it. A. little harder than Ben, baby, but you. got it. [laughter]. >> I just want to be respectful. Obviously, my name gets on all the time. Daniel Oay Fousey over there in. Cleveland camp. Story of everything. maybe an NFL national story at this. point is the quarterback situation. We've seen Shadore, obviously ESPN. Cleveland's Twitter account, keeping. upto-date stats, not giving us much. context, but certainly letting us know.
what's happening every single day. We. appreciate that account doing it. We. believe that Shador's obviously has a. spark, brought a lot to Cleveland last. year. Deshun Watson, though, 240 million. guaranteed. If he wants to play, he's. going to play. Is Dylan Gabriel the best. quarterback they got? tell us about. where everything stands at this moment. and kind of how the story is being. talked about amongst you guys there on. the ground. >> Well, I I think we got to preface. everything with saying it's a little. it's a little early. Like we talked to. Tom Monkin not too long ago, a couple. days ago, and he's like, "We're halfway. through the install. They've got 8 days.
of install where they're really still. incorporating the offense, putting that. in. They're not going to be done with. that until Thursday. And then after. that, that's when Monin said like he'll. really start dialing things up and. calling plays to each individual. quarterback strengths and weaknesses. And that's when he's going to get a. sense for really how these quarterbacks. are handling the offense. But there's so. much that's going into this quarterback. competition. You got pre- snap, like. three days into training camp, they had. 10 different cadences that they're. working on with the offensive line. Obviously, post snap. You know, Monin. wants them to execute a certain way for.
Shadore. you know, this coaching staff. wants him to get the ball out a little. bit quicker, work through his. progressions, and they think that he's. doing that really well. We're seeing the. deep ball every day in practice. And. then you got Deshaawn Watson, who's. still kind of getting back into form. after so much time off because of. injuries and whatnot. He's talking about. just letting his instincts take over. He's had a couple interceptions where he. just needs to play with a little more. fluidity and trust what he's seeing. Um, but yeah, I mean, you've got those two. guys competing and then you've got two. other young quarterbacks with Dylan. Gabriel and Taylor Green that are. getting snaps and they're also working.
hard as well. I heard Tayen Green and. Shador getting a little extra work. Love. to hear that. Obviously secondyear. player acting like a vet Deshun Watson. If he wants I still don't understand how. a guy getting paid that much money if he. wants to play he's not going to play but. hey they're going to move on. It's a new. era. It's a new era they are saying. obviously as a whole. Uh the GoPro on. the helmet. [screaming]. >> All right. So the GoPro on the helmet. [laughter] The GoPro on the helmet. I I. love the views that they're probably.
getting. has to be a little bit. uncomfortable. But if Monk could be in. your brain, >> I think we want him in your brain. Debut. has a question for you, Daniel. >> Yeah, we talked a little about offense. and obviously a quarterback competition, so that'll lead every story, but the. defense, bunch, couple veterans got. paid. Denzel Ward, Grant Delpit. How's. that defense looking? Are those guys. been I guess more vocal leaders at this. point in their career? >> Yeah. Well, I'll tell you this. Yes. The. big story of the offseason was the. Browns trading Miles Garrett to the. Rams. you lose the defensive play of the. year, two-time defensive player of the. year, sack champion. But this is a group.
that still thinks this is going to be. one of the better and really one of the. best defenses in the NFL. You get Jared. Burst back, you know, to lead that. defensive front. You got the reigning. defensive rookie of the year and Carson. Swisser and like you said, one of the. best secondaries in the NFL with Denzel. Ward who just got paid, Grant Dela that. just got paid and definitely keep an eye. out for second round pick Emanuel McNeil. Warren. I think this is a defense play a. lot of big nickel, you know, to try try. to combat all these offenses playing two. or three tight ends. He's going to have. a big role. And then you got.
>> What? Hold on, Daniel. Can you tell. these people who you're talking about. there? They're saying who who's should. they keep an eye out for? >> New defensive coordinator Mike. Rutenberg, rookie safety Emanuel McNeel. Warren. >> This is going to be a defense that is. flying to the ball, plays a lot of man. They're going to try to cap him down on. the in the back end. Uh they they think. they're still going to be really really. good despite losing Miles Garrett. >> Okay. Yeah. Obviously move on from Miles. Garrett. Then they start dumping money. into the defense. Verse doing his thing. I can't wait to see what the Cleveland.
Browns are. I don't know if these. Steelers fans have any idea who those. guys are, but they Hey, >> you'll find out. this year. It's. >> not how Brett Michael sings it. >> He sings it wrong. >> I hope Brett Michael's okay, by the way. Last question for you here, Daniel. coming from con man. >> Yeah, Daniel, we've talked about being. here from last year to this year and. just a different vibe overall with big. Mike McCarthy at the helm. How is it. with, you know, the entire thing with.
Stfansky being gone and Monkin taking. taking over? Is it just a better fresher. vibe or people flying around a little. more or what is kind of the biggest. difference that you would say going from. last year to this year with the Monkin. regime? Yeah, it's definitely a. different style and I think the general. manager, Andrew Barry, who we spoke to a. couple days ago, put it best where he. said that Todd Monkin is old school. disciplinarian but new school football. and relationship relationship building. This is a 60-year-old firsttime NFL head.
coach who said it's been a dream come. true to work decades in this sport and. finally get an opportunity to be a head. coach. So, he's a disciplinarian. You. hear him at practice. He lost his voice. one time in mini camp cuz he was yelling. so much. But then he has a new way of. thinking about the game as an offensive. minded head coach. The way that he. interacts, he's 60 years old, but he can. interact with these young 21, 22, 23. year olds that are fresh out of college. Uh so they love that mixture and I think. that the players are definitely. gravitating to to the the way he coaches. them and how hard he is on them.
>> Okay. I like that there's uh you know, a. little different energy, a little. different pace. Maybe the Cleveland. Browns win the AFC North this year. >> I could see it. There's a chance. >> Good value in that bet. There's a. six-year-old girl over there. >> He's going to take the under, take the. over on the win total. So, >> Daniel, Daniel, tell them the last time. they won. I think it was what, 99, maybe? >> Okay, Daniel, we app Yeah, we appreciate. you joining us. Daniel, the man, ladies. and gentlemen, >> broadcasting live from Cleveland Browns. training camp.
>> Daniel Oy. Uh we uh can. >> you just make. >> we we will certainly take a trip over to. uh Baltimore here in a matter of. moments. >> Ian Rapaort's in Baltimore at Ravens. Camp. He's he's going to give us all the. goods. But before we get to Ian, can we. bring up living legend that's just. standing over here? Two time Super Bowl. champ, Pro Bowler, icon, a man who is. beloved in this city in all of sports,
I'd assume. Ladies and gentlemen, make. some noise. Brett Kel here. Peace. [cheering]. >> Thank you so much. >> Good to see you, bro. [cheering]. >> I mean, this is awesome. Here, >> good to see you, Mr. >> Big Son of a Thank [laughter]. you. Just like your beard. >> Yeah, we like that. >> WHAT'S UP, YOU GUYS?
>> YEAH. >> Let's [cheering] go. >> YEAH. >> YEAH. YEAH. >> Is this right? You got this song right. Nailed it. Stellar Nation, let them hear. you. Let's go. [cheering]. >> Y's done. >> Right. A lot better now that you're up. here, man. Uh, okay. So, you just being. a part of the Steelers program is. basically just assume. >> we got Okay, >> here we go. Pittsburgh's gone to the. Super Bowl. You hear that Pittsburgh?
Got Keyasel, a big ass beard, >> fighting folks with no fear. >> There we go. >> We got McCarthy. He's getting sunburned. And maybe it's seven and it's. Pittsburgh's turn. >> There we go. >> Okay. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Thank. you. Album August 14th. Uh. >> there. >> All right. So, uh Keel, thank you for. stopping by. >> My pleasure. It's great to be back here.
in Llay Trobe, baby. >> That's right. Okay, so we're in Lay. Trobe and obviously Mike Tomlin has been. running this team for uh an adult a. human growth amount of time, 18 years, and then car before that and then null. obviously. But whenever you talk about. Mike McCarthy coming in here, what have. you noticed as somebody that's obviously. played here, that has been an alumni. here, that's beloved here, been around. the building, and now there's a new. coach in in the building. What has it. been like and what do you think about. the team thus far? >> Well, he's a Yenszer. You know, he grew. up here. He knows what the team means to.
the town and you know he's he's just. changed things. There's attention to. detail anytime there's anything new. When I came here, Coach Cower was here. You know, he ran a great camp. 6 weeks. of two a days, baby. Like it was a whole. different realm. Our weight room was a. tent. Like, well, this is way nicer than. our weight [laughter] room. >> Uh it was just different. The stadium. wasn't there. The seats weren't there. there was just a hill and and Steeler. fans showing up with their coolers and.
sitting all day. But when Coach T came. in, it's a transition. It's a new thing. Each one of these guys, as you guys. know, has to set their own stamp in, right, and do things their own way. So, just talking to people within the. organization stuff. There's a real. attention to detail. It's far different. There isn't, you know, kids running. around on the field and stuff like that. It's like, get to your job. Let's go. We. got things to do. We got games to win. Aaron Rogers obviously um how old is he. now? 41 42 43 turning he'll be 43 season.
I think he's got a young spirit doesn't. matter how many human years he has. obviously it's all about his spirit in. there what did you see from him last. year and whenever you talk about having. a little of familiarity at least with. being a Pittsburgh Steeler. What do you. think that adds for him this year? >> I think he did great last year. I mean. uh you know there was a lot of moving. pieces. the O line was kind of shaky at. times a little bit, but having his. leadership and, you know, a first ballot. hall of famer in the huddle, it's going. to elevate everybody's game. And I think. having a year under his belt, his. familiarity with coach McCarthy and what.
they've done together, um, I think they, you know, we're going to the Super Bowl, right? >> Here we go. Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl. Here we go. >> That's something else. When you're in. Pittsburgh and you do get into the. playoffs and they start playing those. fight songs that we have and stuff like. on the radio every morning. Yeah. >> It's uh unique. So, we got to get back. to that. We got to get a playoff win in.
>> Amen. >> And back to the big dance. >> Well, I want to let you know I'm from. the town with the great football team. It's burners. >> Okay. Tone has a question for you, Brett. >> Yeah. So, a lot of talk about Patrick. Graham, the new DC. Like when when we. were growing up and we were watching you. was Aaron Smith, Brett Keasel, big. snacks in the middle. You had the dogs. on the outside no matter who it was. Frier and foot in the middle, but. they're talking about moving TJ and. Highmith and Herbig around a lot more. Do you think that's important in in. today's football? How do you feel about. that? Like versus what they haven't been.
doing the last few years? >> Definitely think it's important. I think. he's going to do a great job. Just. talking to Cam, he really likes the. system and things that they're doing. now. And like I said before, anytime. anything new comes in, everyone knows. you got to step your game up. You can't. rely on, oh, I've been with this coach. for 5 years. He knows me. I'm going to. be on the team or whatever. It's like, man, you got to go. >> Like, you got a job to do. And so TJ and. those linebackers are so athletic and. long and if you can get them back in. space and get them moving where not.
they're not rushing the quarterback all. the time and you can bring a blitz from. the side, cornerback blitz, safety bits, like coach Leau. >> was so great at that, right? >> Oh, we love Leau. >> Love Dicki, baby. Oh, love [screaming]. greatest DC of all time. >> Yeah, he is. I I agree. >> Love Dick Leone. >> But so much of it, coach let us as. linemen like myself stand up. You know, most of the time big boys, you're always. got your hand in the dirt, right? >> So being able to stand up, move around, disguise, hide things, that enabled us.
to bring TP off the side or sometimes. Troy would just come on his own, you. know, like it wasn't even part of the. play. But uh I all of it is disguise. now. You know, everybody's trying to. trick everybody. Everyone tries to get a. next step on everybody. So if you can. disguise and have guys moving around, I. think that makes your defense that much. better. >> All right, Brett. >> Over under for the Pittsburgh Steelers. is eight and a half, I think. Right. >> Yeah, >> it's a high number. >> 10 last year.
>> Is it? >> They've gone under that number in 23. years. >> That's right, Brad. I like that. >> I believe, baby. I believe. Come on. >> Brett said I'm not a betting man, but. >> I really don't. >> 17 Why not 17 wins this year? >> Why Why not 15? >> 17 was at Miami, Ohio the last time they. went under that number. >> Yeah. Well, obviously nothing of the. matters that happened. >> Went 15 and one here once. We went 15. and one. Still still a record. Ben's. rookie year. >> Almost. You guys remember that?
>> We almost got there. >> We got there the next year. >> Brandon knew the train. [laughter]. >> That's right. Ladies and gentlemen, make. some noise. Two time Super Bowl champ, absolute icon, Brett Kisho. >> Thank you, guys. [cheering]. >> Thank you. Thank you. You're. >> the best. [applause]. >> Thank you. >> Can I get a photo with you? Oh yeah,
>> we're in it. >> Bro, that was a big transition. >> I don't know if you guys saw or not. Um, first of all, Kilo is beloved in this. city. >> YEAH, HE IS ACTUALLY. >> uh. bitching about it. Um,
>> grow up. >> Okay, so I don't know if uh I mean I. think it was probably caught on camera. there. Boy, I was going fist bump with. Brett right there. >> and then he was coming with a big like. this. >> I want to let you know. >> Oh, boom. I was very scared though that he. was going to swallow my fist right there. on television. >> He slaps the back with the best of them. I'll tell you why. >> He's a big bopper. He's trying you. >> You got to remember that. That's what. these people are doing. >> You know who else is like that? >> These people. Who's that?
>> AJ Hawk. You know who else is like that? >> Who's that? >> Mike Vrabel. >> You know who else is like that? Brett. Keel. >> Legends. >> I would assume Cam Hayward is as well. The big strong guys. >> JJ Wah. >> JJ. Rapaort. Ladies and gentlemen, joining. us now is a man that is complete. oxidist. And whenever the big guys do. this to him, he potentially gets knocked. off track. But he goes right back and. goes right ahead because this man, junior NFL insider for ESPN, senior NFL. insider for NFL Network live from.
Baltimore Ravens training camp. Ian. Raport, how you guys doing, >> Rap? How you doing, pal? There was. terrible weather here the last couple. days. How's the weather at Baltimore and. how are how's training camp going? >> I got uh I'm under a canopy. It started. to drizzle and you guys know I don't. like that. Um are they singing? Is that. singing? I hear things are going great. here with the Ravens. Uh a lot of. optimism. I know the Steelers fans are. going to be happy to hear that. It's a. lot of lot of good vibes, a lot of new.
coach vibes. Lots to like over here. >> Okay, so the Steelers fans here were. chanting wide right obviously because of. a kick. >> that's mean. mean that changed the entire trajectory. of the Baltimore Ravens and also the New. York Giants. I mean, if father uh. McMillion Mc um McMillions. >> Maxillion, Father Maxillion, uh if. Father Maximillion didn't put that holy. water down there on Acer Field and force.
that miss kick, Ravens, stay with hard. ball. There's no chance now. Full change. down in Baltimore. You said the vibes. are high. What does that mean? Everybody's bought in, everybody. believes. Like, what does that exactly. mean? >> You know, it's an interesting dance. because no, like Carba did great things. here, won a Super Bowl, and it's like, >> you know, not everything positive has to. be sort of disparaging to the other guy. I would say same thing with the. Steelers, right? I mean, a new coach. probably is a good thing, but it doesn't. mean that the old coach was a bad thing. You know what I mean? So, um, there's a.
lot of that going on here. a lot of. energy, um, a lot of really good. communication and relationship building. from Jesse Mentor, Zachin Doyle, the new. offensive coordinator, and Lamar. Jackson. And just understanding this. offense, what it's going to be like, why. it can help him and help everyone. Like. there's the relationship building and. communication, I would say, are really. good. Whereas like, you know, by the. end, both of those things probably fell. off a little bit with John Harbaugh. And. I would say particularly Lamar seems.
really invested in this. >> Lamar Jackson, you're talking about. former MVP Lamar Jackson who he's been. at every single workout as well. Twotime. MVP. I apologize. He's been at every. single workout this off seasonason. They're making a big deal of that. Is. that because obviously new culture or is. it because Lamar feels as if maybe he's. going to be judged on this entire. coaching change as well? Well, I think both those things and. because there's a lot to learn, you. know, like look, Lamar had his best. years when Todd Mon came in and kind of.
started new, dug in, dove in, learned. everything and played really well and. really efficient. And that's sort of the. vibe I'm getting here. Like Lamar was. around a lot. He's, you know, it's going. to look a little different. He's going. to be under center a little more, I. think, probably than than he was. previously. Um, so they're going to run. the heck out of the ball. They got Derk. Henry. Um, you know, but I I think the. fact that Eve likes it and is energized. by it will go a long way for this. organization. That stuff, especially. when, you know, the way it was last.
year, battled through injuries, didn't. play great, you know, the buyin is. really meaningful and you can feel it. >> Yeah. Anytime your quarterback's all in, obviously the team is going to be all in. as well, which is why every team wants. to know who their quarterback is. immediately. Lamar Jackson last year on. the ground. We don't think he was able. to be who Lamar Jackson is, which is. still above everybody else, but it. wasn't exactly that because of injuries. and things like that. People forget his. QBR uh is like. >> better than everybody. I mean, the guy. can spin it way, way better than anybody.
gives him credit for. I'll tell you. what, Mter gets that defense back to. being their defense. >> Seeing Lamar Go ahead. >> Sorry. You get used to seeing Lamar. Jackson a certain way and then when it. doesn't look the same, you're like, "What's wrong with him?" Looks like, well, there were some things wrong. He. was he was injured. Fibs weren't great. Like definitely renewed energy here. Healthier long in the. >> Oh, no. The Baltimore Ravens are about. to win the Super Bowl. >> That's crazy. DJ Bonx is here. Whiz. Khalifa is DJ. He's back over there.
Good to see you. Hope you guys had a. great tour. DJ Bonx, obviously love you. >> No, THEY'RE THE ODDS ON FAVORITE. CAN. YOU PUT THE ODDS UP FOR THE AFC North so. these people could see it? >> Please, Foxy, can you put this? Oh, is. that overus? >> Is that on 11 and a half? >> Minus 112. >> Did you know in 9 years with Lamar as a. quarterback, they have three playoff. wins? >> Don't mess up. >> Okay, Tony. >> I'm just wondering if you guys do that. >> Tony, I didn't know if you were speaking. for them. They had some other stuff. I.
think somebody in here. [cheering]. >> All right, there's a cheese head there. actually. Hey, I'll come support that G. here in Pittsburgh. AJ AJ Hawk has a. question for you. Rap sheet. >> Yeah, rap sheet. Uh, what about Trey. Hendendrickson? What's he looked like. early on in camp? All that we've really. seen is a clip of him running the hoops, I guess. >> And what are people saying about that? They're saying he might not. loose. They're killing him. >> What's he look like, Rapshi? We need a. We need a boots on the ground view.
What's he been looking like? >> You know, I would say first of all, really good. He is an intense dude and. he fits in here. He is tough. He is. physical and he wants it very very very. badly. He has wound extremely tight I. think in the right ways. Uh early. returns are really good going to rush. the passer going to contribute on the. edge and this is a team that you know. [cheering] needs it and if they get Nami. Madabuk back if they get Kas out there. and that defensive line itself is going. to be really good and kind of take some.
pressure off him as well. It should be. much improved from last which I think. Trey's [music] going to be a big part of. it and that storyline how they rush the. passer obviously how Max does with the. Las Vegas Raiders and then Vega who was. the first round pick who would have been. traded he has been a baller here I mean. just a baller here um with the Ravens. like that it's going to be interesting. to follow how that trade the fallout and. all that. >> uh yeah because now Max's name is. getting mentioned to be traded again so.
it's almost like the Las Vegas Raiders. kind of hard coming out of your mouth. right there whenever you're talking. about Max. Why is everybody doing that. with Max honestly? Cuz is he coming to. the Colts? We'd love to have him. >> What do you do? >> We'd love to have him at the Colts. >> I mean, I think I think a lot of teams. would love to have him. I do not get the. sense right now that Max Crosby wants to. get traded. I do not get the sense that. he will get traded. If anything could. happen, we've seen that. It's just it. feels to me like he's all in. >> on the Raiders, the Las Vegas Raiders.
current and only team. I believe that's. the way it will stay, especially if they. are, you know, much improved this year, which they should be. >> Okay. He was a Raven there for about a. day, it felt like, and then obviously. that all goes different ways forever. >> Oh, they're not going to spend any money. on a pass rusher then. No, actually, they're going to pay Trey Hendrickson. just kick Max out of the building. Max. goes back to the most talented Raiders. team we have seen. Let's stick with the. Baltimore Ravens in uh where Ian Rapaort. is live from. Debbut has a question for. you. Yeah, rap sheet. The names, the.
people we know, the playmakers we know. on that offensive side of the ball. Lamar Jackson, Dererick Henry, Mark. Andrews, Zay Flowers. Who are some, I. guess, some young names, some new faces. that we can expect to make some plays to. the Raiders this year? >> Yeah, I mean, first of all, some of the. some of the old faces are pretty good. I. watched Save Flowers go face go. one-on-one with Marlon Humphrey, who's. awesome, uh, and just, you know, catch a. 50 yarder at practice to to kind of let. everyone celebrate. you know, they they. uh they still got Rashad Baitman, they. still got Mark Andrews, obviously likely.
is gone. Drafted a couple receivers um. in the draft, couple tight ends. And. what it seems like they're looking at is. will one of those guys in each of the. positions kind of merge kind of like. they did in in Mark Andrew's year. actually. Um it's like [cheering] draft. two guys at the position, see which one. will be good, figure it out. You know, you hope they get a little better. receiver help. I think they probably. need it. Uh but the early returns on. this draft class I would say are pretty. positive. Obviously starting with the.
guard. Um but pretty positive. Uh the. Baltimore Ravens obviously vibing into a. potential. another AFC North title. >> 11 and 12. >> 11 and a half win. Brand new head coach. Two time MVP. I'll tell you what, this. place just went crazy for some grape. jams. Just went out. There's a grape. jam. Yeah, it's okay. August 17th rap, if you want to go ahead. and announce it. Grape jams coming. August 17th. Grape is coming. Yeah.
>> Uh, yeah. I'm obviously excited about. that. That's obviously something I eat. all the time. >> Yeah. Good. I like that. I appreciate. you doing that. >> Yeah, as you should. >> Hey, appreciate that care package that. you sent me. >> Yeah, you're welcome. No problem. Okay. Uh, we appreciate you joining us. >> Maybe you lost my address. >> Oh, boohoo. Shut up. Be quiet. I just. got a new deal. You're the reason. Nobody's talking about it. Well, this. guy's the actual reason. Nobody's really. >> You're the reason. I read it on the.
internet. >> You're the reason. >> Yes, I read it on the internet. No, on. the internet. >> Yeah. Ladies and gentlemen, a man who is. a junior NFL insider for ESPN, senior. NFL insider for NFL Network, front of. the program live from Baltimore Ravage. training camp. That's Ian Rapaort. There's been a jams invasion here which. we certainly appreciate. This is the. first time we've seen these boxes. >> Yeah, they're sweet. Yeah, those are the. first ever. >> We are pretty excited. We got grape jams. coming August 17th. >> Strawberry and berry was great. And then.
you try the grape, you're like, "Oh boy, that's why it's peanut butter jelly.". >> And you know what? Purple is an. incredible color. That's why whenever. you think about the Baltimore Ravens, you think to yourself, >> good union. >> Oh man, are the Ravens about to do it? You completely forget about the NFL. whenever Lamar Jackson is dealing, when. Lamar Jackson is spinning, when Lamar. Jackson is cooking everybody because. last year there was really none of that. It looked bad. The defense looked bad. Lamar had to score like 50 a game and. which he was doing, but it never really. was like uh high optimism. I think even.
Stavi and. >> Oh yeah, >> I think even potentially gave up a. little bit there. They move on from the. coach. They almost win the AFC North. Okay, that kick goes in, whole different. story. >> They get a home playoff game. Instead, it's like rebuild this. Let's go new. Ravens are dangerous, I think, if they. have Lamar. I love Mentor going over. there. >> And it was right from jump. Like you. remember, for me at least, thinking. about the Ravens season, it just started. with Josh Allen coming back down 15 in. the fourth quarter and then beating him. and it felt like that kind of set the. tone for their entire year. We'll see. what happens with that Linder Bomb. That.
feels like the biggest loss for them and. Lamar. >> Yeah, it does cuz like the and the old. line was the biggest thing from for them. last year. They couldn't figure out the. right side of their offensive line. Connor says Linder Bomb is gone. Obviously Rap talked about them. uh. drafting Vega Ione out of Penn State who. is a beast. Uh but yeah, we'll see with. the offensive line cuz that was a big. thing last year and they're going to put. Lamar under center more. So that'll be. interesting to see cuz there's a certain. guy there's a certain GM who's wanted. him to be under center for a long time. >> Okay, speaking of being under center for. a long time, let's come here to. Pittsburgh. Well, sorry, Steelers camp,
LRO, Pennsylvania. I believe we're about. 30 seconds out from a potential. two-minute drill. Okay, live twominut. I. believe they'll be starting on their own. 35. The offense will have two timeouts. The defense will have one timeout. The. offense will be down seven. I I do not. know if this is it. This might be the. last. This is Will Hard. Okay, so this. is the last rep, I believe, of the drill. right before two-minute. >> Willard. Uh, good hand offer. >> Who was that? Caleb Johnson. >> Good run in there out of the lab. They. just had an incredibly long completion.
the play before. We've been keeping tabs. on this. And the reason why we've been. kind of watching is because twominute. live calls. I mean, this they're. breaking up right now. Let's go. They. show the screen there. Uh, Foxy, please. All right, here we go. >> It's my favorite part of practice. >> Now we're getting into it. Okay, so this. is going to be live drills here. Now, now we got McCarthy calling, Aaron. Rogers cooking, defense calling as well. They'll be starting on their own 35. Everybody knows the situation here. And. they're treating this as if it's game. Is that not right, AJ? >> That's what it looks like. Yeah, the. defense looks like they're going off to.
to huddle and they're going to run on. and once you get on there, it'll be. probably muddle huddle here. What' you. say? How much time is left on the clock? >> 146. Offense is down seven. Two timeouts. for the offense, one for the defense. What does that mean, DB Bud? >> That means that the offense has the full. playbook. Basically, plenty of time. You. obviously got a quarterback in the head. coach that's going to be comfortable in. any situations, but the the clock is not. an issue for the offense, at least right. now in the two-minute drill, but you. need a touchdown. So, the defense also. knows that don't give up the big play. >> Official start of this, we've been told, is 102. And obviously, the attention to.
detail that has been talked about around. here, we assume it's not the 35. We. assume 102 will be the exact start time. of this particular two-minute. What. we're saying is look at the crowd. filtering. [laughter] What they're about. to see right now is ones on real. football. And uh this is what we've been. dreaming of. Tone digs. >> Yeah, it is. I mean it's awesome to see. this cuz this is about as good as it. gets when you come to one of these. training practices. The two-minute. everyone going all out. Aaron has been. really really good so far in two-minute. Will hire's been good in two. Drew. Aller's been good at two. I haven't seen. much of Mason yet, but I assume he's.
been great. But no, it'll be fun to. watch this. >> Colin, man, are you going to get scared. if the Pittsburgh Steelers just do some. walking right down this field? Cuz I'll. tell you, I've seen a lot of highlights. coming out of New England. And. obviously, we're talking about the AFC. North right now. The team that reigns. supreme over the AFC for a long time. just might be back. And it feels like. the miked up is telling us Drake May and. Josh McDaniels are more confident than. ever. >> Yeah, more confident than ever. Their. interactions are are much more kind of. level. Last year it was a lot of. McDaniels telling May what to do. Now it. seems to be kind of back and forth. But. yeah, you said it. You don't get nervous.
as a team who just went to the Super. Bowl about other teams. Okay. And we are. the top. We are what people are chasing. after. Of course, you didn't get the job. done last year. But yeah, seeing this. though, seeing the clips of McDaniels in. May, like this is you get chills cuz you. know that it's around the corner and. we're going to be able to bet on. DraftKings on these teams very, very. soon. Well, it'll be interesting to see. who on this drive in the two-minute. catches a pass for those future bets. Travis Hunter is back on offense and. defense for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He. looks absolutely jacked. Um, a lot of.
stories coming around. Jerry Jones is on. a microphone. Love that that that's. taking place. Uh, there is things. brewing around the NFL and it does. appear as if we are seconds away. from ones on here. Now, DK Mechaf length out to the left. Aaron. Rogers in shotgun. Who's the running. back? Tone Digs. >> Uh, I can't see the number. Uh, it's. Rico. Rico D. >> Rico D. TJ Watt fan standing right in. the middle of the snap. We appreciate. him doing that. Lady says hello to her.
family. Aaron Rogers drop back. Check. down. Dout gets it. He's tackled. Inbounds. Clock will continue. Two. timeouts for the offense. Down seven. About 130 left in the first half. AJ. Hawk, what are you looking for here from. the offense? >> I'm looking at is this field position. right? What what do they look like? They're in the 20 yard line going in. now. Where are we? Look at the pylons. down there left. >> Look at the pylons up. Or is that the. first? That was a catch. Oh, deep ball. on the side. >> Zoom out. Let's catch that. >> The first down Pittsburgh Steelers on. the offense there.
>> Aaron Rogers in a Pittsburgh Steelers. offense under Mike McCarthy who is. giving the calls. Now, we were told. specifically do not show the signals. So, we were trying to stay out, but it'd. be a lot easier if we could go in there. and kind of [laughter] see what's going. on after they make the play call. Let's. go ahead and zoom back in. Little kids. saying hello. Good to see you down. there. Obviously, a bunch of lads. Get. some photos. We made it to training. camp. School starting soon. High school. football starting soon. Pittsburgh. Steelers in the red zone. I believe they. still have two timeouts after a long. completion down the left sideline. Aaron.
Rogers in shotgun. Quick fake. Handoff. inside draw. Two timeouts. Rico Dao. >> gets tackled. One timeout. Are they. going to take it? >> Hey, you don't want to score too quick. here. There's 122 when you're on the 15. yd line going 10 yardd line. Like they. need to run the clock a little bit. >> They are down seven. I remember that. No. timeout spent. That means they probably. still have two left. Aaron Rogers is. cooking. Yeah, it is running. >> Mike McCarthy has told us that there's. nobody other than Aaron Rogers he'd like. to have in a two-minute drill. That's. why he thought the Jets and the Steelers. were going to be good whenever they had.
Aaron. >> I'll tell you what, there's a lot of. doubt tackling down to the ground. Mike. McCarthy's not going to be happy about. that. I assume a timeout is called. >> There's Jay Butler. Do you like what's. happening here? Defense seemingly. getting run their ass off the field. >> I mean, look, you're in a good situation. here, though. Just bow up, you know, keep it in front of you. Obviously, don't let them in the end zone. The. clock is running. Once again, the full. playbook is still there, but after. probably the next play, the run game is. probably out of it, I would assume. >> 35 seconds left on the play clock. Aaron. Rogers has been in shotgun this entire. time. Shot to the corner. Overthrow,
stop the clock. 27 seconds left. >> Yeah, this this gets tough, though. >> It's good for the players, too, cuz this. is the first time really uh you know, two minutes live, good on good. Now, as. a player, as the guy with the green dot, as a DB, you know how Patrick Graham is. going to react, how he's going to call. plays, because everything is live. This. isn't scripted for either side. So, I'm. interested to see what they come out. What formation is the offense going to. come out to? Two by two, 3x one, one by. three, and then you can kind of go from. your menu uh there if you're on that. defense. >> Two-minute drill here. Full pads. First.
time for the Pittsburgh Steelers. DK. Mechaf out to the left. >> One DK over here. >> Look like it's going to be one-on-one. Let's go zoom out a little bit. See what. DK has. They got a sha shade over top. Aaron's looking that way. >> Yep. >> Oh, yeah. >> Touchdown Pittsburgh Steelers. >> Boom. Oh, >> they tackle him early. >> Oh, he's down on the line, man. Let's. get some goal line work. Let's get some. goal line work here. >> 25 seconds left on the clock. >> Full pads. Mike McCarthy said, "Let's. not be getting anybody injured." They. certainly took a timeout there.
>> So, no timeouts. >> I think they have none. >> Okay. >> Defense has one timeout. I believe that. was DK on the catch. >> They was. >> DK Mechaf inside. DK Mechaf outside. Pittsburgh Steelers two-minute offenses. looked very efficient. Dao also getting. to rock a lot. He beat the hell out of. the Green Bay Packers last year as a. Carolina Panther, which is a damn good. football. >> Good football team. [laughter]. >> D is a big difference maker. I don't. think anybody's going to talk about like. two months being one of the best parts. of the NFL. >> Now, now you won by three. Now you got. Muth, I believe, out here as the. isolated X. Basically, then you have DK.
as a number three receiver to Aaron's. right. >> Moose saved a kid earlier. Aaron Rogers. takes his shot. >> Hey, what a m. >> That's Roman Wilson. >> He was out of bounds. had to be. >> one foot. >> Roman Wilson. >> Is that Pit? >> No, it was Roman. >> That was Roman. >> 23 seconds. >> 14. >> I can't see. >> Be nice to know what down it is. >> as the Pittsburgh Steelers try to. operate here in a two-minute offense. >> They are down seven currently. >> Clock sitting at 23 seconds.
>> This is a classic Steelers game. Defense. has to hold on the one yardd line. Offense this basically every game. This. is every game for the last 10 years. >> down here. Low red area. defense. You're. you're expecting passes near the goal. line and then near the back line, back. pylon and the goal line. >> We have no idea what down this is. We do. know that Aaron Rogers is down seven. against the Pittsburgh Steelers defense. >> Shotgun downhill. A little confused. Not. going to him. >> Throws throws it out of bounds. >> Okay. >> It's got to be third or I mean.
[laughter]. what I mean what how many is this. Canadian league? How many downs we got. out here? Can we get some sign? It It is. potentially third down as Renegade would. potentially be playing if they went to a. commercial break at this exact moment. >> Oh m. [singing]. of the. three by one isolated.
[singing]. >> Okay. And Rogers, we need someone underneath. that slant for D Rogers can scramble. [laughter] down. >> He didn't throw it. >> He had it. >> He had it. >> Touchdown somewhere else. I'm sure. >> threw it away. >> Incomplete. >> Defense celebrate. >> Looks like that might have been fourth. down. >> That was fourth down. Steelers had to. GET IT. STEELERS DEFENSE WITH A BIG TIME. HOLE. THE MIKE MCCARTHY AARON Rogers. error [laughter] begins with a massive. failure. Oh no. >> Yikes.
>> Oh, it's a win for the D. >> YEAH, IT'S A win for the win. Good. drive, AJ. >> OH NO. >> WE HAVE Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rogers. up here. We'll see what went wrong. >> Take the under on wins now. >> Oh my god. You're 0 and one. >> Oh, your defense. Your defense is one. and0. >> We know they're going to score points. away with points. >> This ain't 20. >> I thought you were on the defense. >> Offensive head coach. >> I'm just going to let you know that's. not good. >> March down the one yard line.
>> Mike McCarthy is going to say it was a. failed two-minute drill. >> Oh, for sure. If it was Tomlin, that'd. be a successful two-minute drill. >> Let's get to a break because he's a. defensive coach. >> Yep. >> Yep. >> Offensive coach. >> That's a shame. >> I'm not saying anything else. Will. Howard now will take his shot at trying. to lead the boys down. That means Will. Howard, number two quarterback, by the. way. >> Yep. >> Number two right now for two minute. right now at this exact moment. He is. the number two quarterback. Congrats to. Will Howard certainly be love. We have. about 40 seconds left. What's Will. Howard going to do? 146 down seven. Two. timeouts. Will Howard comfortable in the. pocket?
>> Tip batted. >> Batted down. >> All right. It's team six. >> Get off. Get off there. >> Holy. >> THIS IS PRACTICE. >> I will speed up A LITTLE BIT. >> UHOH. >> NO. >> SOUND THE ALARM IN PITTSBURGH. >> NO. [laughter]. >> If you're not here, WHAT WE'RE SEEING, IT AIN'T GOOD. >> NO, IT'S [laughter] NOT TRUE. DEFENSE IS. DOING GREAT. >> IT'S UGLIER IN PERSON, FOLKS. >> NO, YOU CAN'T SEE ANYTHING FROM WHERE. WE'RE AT. >> YIKES. >> DK MECHAF HAD A 30-YARD reception down. the left sideline. >> All for that.
>> Please have some respect. We're back on. the other side. Be a friend. offering. something nice. >> You know what? I think there's only one. thing left to do here. I've experienced. cafesito time. I've experienced the. wonderful culture. I've experienced the. beautiful people. AND I THINK WE GOT. SOME CANES OVER HERE. WE GOT SOME CANES OVER HERE. [laughter]. WE GOT SOME CANES OVER HERE.
THIS day in Coral Gables IS GOING TO BE. ONE THAT I WILL REMEMBER FOR THE REST OF. MY LIFE. RAY LEWIS STARTED HIS DANCE. RIGHT HERE AT MIAMI. ED REED STARTED HIS. LEGENDARY RUN HERE AT MIAMI. THE LEGENDS OF FOOTBALL RUN DEEP. THE. MOMENTS ARE SPECIAL. THE NATIONAL. CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE IN ABUNDANCE. JUST. LAST YEAR, A LOVELY UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI.

I hope somebody. got a lifesaver over there.
>> My man's out of breath. [laughter]. >> It is a long way to the top. Jump in. Somebody. >> are you going to jump in there? >> Oh my god. >> Yeah. So, >> I'm tired for you. >> Oh my. Yeah. >> Oh, he's going to take the jacket off. Okay. >> Okay. Oh. Oh, he's taking the shirt off. now. >> All right. >> Looking ripped. Looking ripped. Oh, he's. taking the drawers off. Ladies and. gents, the pants. >> Ladies and gentlemen, >> the [laughter].
ladies and gentlemen, if you come to. this beautiful campus, YOU WILL NOTICE. QUICKLY THAT THE STUDENTS HERE LOVE THIS. UNIVERSITY. THEY love this atmosphere. And I'm WITH EVERYBODY. I THINK the U IS. BACK TO ME. >> [cheering]. [laughter]. >> HE'S GOT THE SPEED ON. OH MY. Give me. the.

with a refreshing punch. Miami and Florida. The following program. is a collection of students talking. about happenings in the sports world. It. is meant to be comedic informative. The. opinions expressed on this show do not. necessarily reflect the beliefs of their. peers, their boss or ESPN. There may be. some cuss words because that's how. humans into the real world talk. If you. are a young, please seek permission.
before watching any further. >> Hey, >> let's go. This show stinks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. you. >> McAfee on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime [music] leading tackler for. the Green Bay Packers. You can. stop. >> Damn it. >> Your friend, tell a friend something. nice could change their life. [music].
sport. >> Hello, beautiful people and welcome back. [music] to Pittsburgh Steelers training. camp here in Lro, Pennsylvania. Hour two of the program begins now. >> FOOTBALL IS AWESOME. SHOUT OUT TO the. Saint Vincent baseball team [music] for. allowing us to take up a chunk of their. outfield. Shout out to everybody that's. hanging out with us. We appreciate you. It's hot as hell out there. Obviously, the lads are out there trying to get. better. First day of full pads. This.
hour will be packed and stacked, I do. believe, with Pittsburgh's Steelers. legends. Coach Mike McCarthy will be. joining us here in a matter of moments. >> Aaron Rogers will be joining us in a. little bit. TJ Watt, Cam Hayward, we'll. also have, I believe, Omar Khan joining. us, the GM. He was up here earlier. We. might have blew that, but we uh we're. very excited and thankful to be here. And I'll tell you what, for the last. couple weeks in Indianapolis, Indiana, there's been a little bit of a chill, you know, and in the weather, you could. kind of sense that football was around. the corner. Then we get up here and. we're hearing these Guardian caps thump.
and. >> we're watching these twominute drills. and we're seeing tackles and majestic. highlights take. We're in football. season and it is an absolute honor to be. here and we are uh incredibly thankful. for uh for ball as a whole, but also for. Pittsburgh for being so damn kind to us. and Lelay Trobe kind of welcoming us in. here. [cheering] It's an honor to be. here. The Steelers have been here for 58. years and uh this is a pilgrimage for. all yers and obviously football is.
happening in real time. The toxic tables. here at Boston Connor and at Tai Schmidt. one half of the hammer Cowboys AP Tone. is here. Nine-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler is here. You look so cool. I s I. heard that that white socks hat maybe. caused a little something in an elevator. here. >> Yeah, usually obviously I ran into a. couple Yenzers getting in the elevator. this morning. All right, you can get in. even though you got that white sack hat. [laughter] on. We're Pirates fans in. here, so I respect it. But I just got a. head on cuz I like the colors. >> A moonshot of Taka Morakami has made me. a little bit of a Chicago White Sox fan.
The Chicago Cubs also, I believe, playing great baseball right now. Baseball is about to be dead though. because the Dodgers got Derek Scubble. So, we need to take everything we have. in right now of baseball and enjoy it. cuz there ain't our season coming. allegedly next year. Uh the college. football national champion, Super Bowl. champion, >> yeah, the Dodgers are getting a little. heat. Probably happening in a lot of. baseball towns. Pittsburgh does have a. baseball team, but this is a football. town. Uh, uh, RDER Cup champion, Super. Bowl champion, college football national. champion, former president of Ohio.
Ladies and gentlemen, AJ Hawk is here. >> Hawker, take away from first hour. We. talked to Ben Baby in Cincinnati. We. talked to Oay Fousey in Cleveland. We. talked to Rapaort in Baltimore. And then. obviously we watch a two-minute drill. here in Pittsburgh. Your big takeaway. from hour one is we're out here in the. heat thanking everybody for getting. sunburned alongside of us. I would say. my big takeaway is positivity all. around. Every single camp we go to, everyone feels very optimistic. They. feel like their team can win it all. And. why not? At this point, this point in. the year, everyone truly does feel like.
you can win it all. But we all know. there's only a handful of teams most. likely that have a chance. But right. now, why not? I think this is the time. for optimism. >> Oh yeah. >> Are the Pittsburgh Steelers one of those. teams? >> I think they are actually are I think. you are you can be one of the teams if. you have an elite an elite quarterback. And guess what? They have an elite. quarterback. On that note, walking off. the field right now is said elite. quarterback who has been very open with, "Hey, yeah, last rodeo here. Let's go. ahead and enjoy the hell out of it." He. mentioned it during his uh Montana trip. with the lads he took a couple weeks. ago. He mentioned it multiple times that. he was done. His wife said, "You can.
have another year obviously if you'd. like it." Mike McCarthy being here feels. like a special time. But to your point, everybody thinks they can win a Super. Bowl right now. >> Mhm. >> Everybody thinks they can win a Super. Bowl. Uh, everybody I don't know if. everybody everybody hopes that I think. some teams only hope, but they know deep. down probably not. >> Well, I'll tell you what, whenever I see. a highlight from a team, I think to. myself, well, maybe they actually will. win the Super Bowl. And, you know, we. get called a lot of things here. >> A lot. >> All the time. >> All the time. But what I always read.
about us is, you know, I wish they would. just go back to what old ESPN. they're wasting on these guys. It's a. lot of that, you know, a lot of that. type of We would like to show. highlights from all 32 teams, from all. 32 camps. And we'd like to let everybody. know that every time I see any of these. highlights, I do think to myself, "Holy. >> is that team going to win the Super. Bowl?" Yes, I'm a livein- the- moment. guy, but how could you not be? Especially when we head to the San. Francisco 49ers electrical substation.
prison that they're practicing in. BROCK. PARTY BACK TO Debo Samuel, the point. slime. God, he's going to eat. We. believe this year the yards after catch. was not great. And then let's go to a. massive free agent signing, Mike Evans, who is now a member of the San Francisco. 49ers doing the things that he has. always done. He's had over a thousand. yards for the last hundred years. The. ners in the middle of that electric. place making highlights all over the. place. Are the ners about to win the. Super Bowl or maybe let's head to the. Bears debug. >> Yeah, if they can get past the Iceman.
Madden cover athlete, I think it's going. to be an MVP conversations. big part of. that Rome Aduni. I think he takes a big. leap this year. Just like a leap right. there, going up and getting it where the. kids can't get it. Another guy, another. young guy, tight end, second year. I. think he'll take a huge jump as well. Coast Lovelin, you know, those tight. ends, they're a problem, especially up. the seam, putting it right between the. eight and the four. I think Caleb. Williams is going to have a huge year. Let's go out to Cincinnati. >> Yeah, we should go out to Cincinnati. I. know we have a clip of Joe Burrow coming.
up and Joe Burrow right there with the. beautiful skyline of Cincinnati outside. of Por Stadium. We have something going. over us right now. Our head. But watch. the late hands here. Deb back. Very late. hands. Deb back does not have a chance. When you have late hands like that, we. know Jamar Chase is going to be rolling. and he and Joe Burrow have seems to be. on the same page this whole time. >> I love everything coming out of Cincy. Let's go to Denver, shall we? Con. >> Yeah, Bo Nicks got his ankle fixed and. they got a new wide receiver, Jaylen. Wadd. Beautiful slow-mo shot. You got to. love that in the Mile High City. But.
seeing Jaylen Wadd the 17 for Denver. going up making a grab. Still looks like. he has his Dolphins gloves but still. looks fantastic. Him Courtland Sutton. should be great. But let's GO TO THE DOG. POUND. >> YEAH. And if the booze are any. indications because potential QB1 Shadur. Sanders is throwing deep balls. Denzel. Boston. is making contested catches. I don't. know. This might be the year for the. Cleveland Browns. Unless Tampa Bay has. something to say about it. Yeah. Yeah, let's go down to T Tampa Bay where the.
things off the field. The vibes have. been great. Baker rolling right. Don't. throw across your body. That's fine. Bucky Irving with the touchdown. Bucky. Irving's been awesome out of the back. field. He's got a touchdown down here in. Tampa Bay. And also in Tampa Bay, one of. the old vets now that Mike Evans has. been gone. Baker checking, making checks. at the line. Makes a nice little throw. down the sideline. Chris Godwin t he's. back off of an injury. Looking great. down in Tampa. Let's head out to. Buffalo. >> Yeah, let's go to raw treasure, shall. we? Uh, who's a wide receiver up there. in Buffalo? Oh, DJ Moore's there. And.
he's caught this pass from Josh Allen 15. times. We've seen this highlight. Joe. Brady, the new head coach, obviously. same OC. Josh Allen and expectations. highs. Bill is about to cook somewhere. that maybe they get cooked cuz the. weather, but also online. Let's go to. the Cardinals, Dar. >> Yeah, if you're taking a running back in. the top five, it's not just going to be. to hand him the ball. It's going to be. to get him out in space. Jeremiah Love. going right up the seam. A great ball. over the top and a great catch. Let's go. out to LA. >> Oh, who's out there? D, but I think we.
know who that is. Justin Herbert Lad. McConi. Deba, what would you say? Don't. sleep on this guy. Don't let this guy. run by you, right? As you break the. huddle, we know he can make catches all. over the place. His yak is also off the. charts. That's why we get a nice ball. here over the middle. Lad's going to. make one cut and get up field and. absolutely dominate. We know he will. But you know what? Let's head out to. Kansas City. >> We're not showing Mahomes throwing the. ball off the helmet, okay? We're showing. him throwing it to Kenneth Walker. You. forget that he's going to be there. Super Bowl MVP to Super Bowl MVP. Look. for the Chiefs to be back. And now,
let's head back to Indianapolis, Indiana. Colts fans, I'll tell you what, if you were fearing that Achilles. surgery, fear not. Okay, Danny Dimes is. slinging absolute rockets. Taylor War. Tyler Warren, excuse me, slamming his. head off the turf like we've seen time. and time again. I like how the Colts are. looking so far. Let's head to the. nation's capital. >> Yeah, nobody's talking about the. Commanders and Jaden Daniels being back. off of an injury to Luke McCaffrey with. the toe tap in the back of the end zone. Can the Commanders do it this year? Maybe they're going to have to beat. someone in Dallas though. >> Yeah, they certainly are. NFC East.
Dallas Cowboys. Dak Prescott. George. Pickkins filthy back shoulder comeback. catch and he's going to celebrate on the. dirt that they got out there. Love the. Cowboys. Do we love the Dolphins deep? >> Now, people accuse me of being a fan of. a lot of teams. I'm a lifetime Dolphin. And we got a new QB at the helm, Malik. Willis. Quarterback run. No pass. So, don't know how I feel about that, but I. love the dance and love the vibes down. there. Let's go out to Philly. >> That's right. >> What about Jaylen Herz? We know he he's. coming to camp looking trim, looking. spry. We know this. Dantavian Wixs goes.
up and gets it. Give me that. We know he. came over from Green Bay. He's looking. for huge things between he and Jaylen. Herz this year. Comment, what's. happening in Atlanta? Michael Pennix. just throwing absolute darts back from. injury to Zachariah Branch, third. rounder who flies. He's been crushing it. at camp all year. Went to Georgia, stayed in Georgia with Atlanta. Looks. fantastic. He's a hell of a player. But. let's go a little further south to. Jacksonville, shall we? >> Yeah, we mentioned in the first hour it. looks like Travis Hunter's put on about. 40 lbs of muscle and we know he could do. it on the offensive end. Give me that.
But is he going to do it on the. defensive again this year? But I don't. think so. I there's I mean there's just. no way. Oh, wait a minute. Is that. Travis Hunter TAGGING [laughter] AN INT? WELL, WOW. Let's go to New York. Are the. Jets going to stink again this year? >> There's a good chance they do have the. quarterback of the worst team in the. league last year. That's Gino Smith, but. they got Garrett Wilson back and that. could be an incredible duo this year. Garrett Wilson with an awesome catch. Said that Gino was unbelievable throw. Let's go out to Detroit though. Haven't. heard much about them, have we? >> Yeah, let's go to the D. Garrett just.
bopped his head off the field. I'm happy. he's okay. Jameson Williams. J Mo can. beat you with speed, but also the. comeback is deadly. JMO's been a stud. back-to-back thousand yard seasons. People forget that. Let's stay in the. NFC North and go to Green Bay. Yeah, it's going to be tough in that division. when you have former first round pick. Matthew Golden going up and getting one. contested catches. Looks like he he. doesn't just run straight down the. field. He looks great [laughter] so far. You know who else looks great? Newly. paid number one receiver Christian.
Watson. Jordan Love throwing a beautiful. ball. And Christian full extension for. the touchdown. Oh yeah. [laughter]. >> You can't see it. There's a couple. defenders on the backside there. is the. only place it could be thrown. Patrick's. look uh pay Packers look unbelievable. Let's go to New England. >> Yeah, another team that looks. unbelievable, the AFC defending. champions. AJ Brown, they only got. better on Christian Gonzalez. This. matchup has been prime time every single. day in training camp. Get used to seeing. this and a lot of touchdowns. But let's.
go to Sin City, Las Vegas. >> Yeah, Sin City, Las Vegas. What do you. think of Kirk Cousins? Here we go. Nice, [laughter] beautiful ball there. Majestic Skyline. Brock Bowers brings it. in. Very very strong hands. Look for. huge things this year. Tbo, what's. happened with the red? >> Something you better look for when you. get in that red area. Devonte Adams from. Matt Stafford. Another red zone. touchdown. Led the league in receiving. touchdowns last year and also set a. record, NFL record, alltime record of. touchdown catches, catches inside the 5. yd line. So see a lot of that, a lot.
more of that this year. Let's go out to. Baltimore, Tony. >> LET'S GO. LET'S GO to Baltimore. Okay, let's see what that Oh, there's Lamar. Okay, he's standing back there. Oh. Oh, that's a horrible throw that his wide. receiver had to horrible throw. >> Talking Baltimore, >> that wide receiver, sorry, wide receiver. Jacobe Lane, the rookie had to come down. with an incredible catch. Terrible throw. though. Uh, let's go to Seattle. >> Yeah, listen. Everyone wants to talk. about the Rams winning the Super Bowl, but what about these guys, huh? Sam. Darnold with a beautiful ball to JSN.
Rain offensive player of the year with a. little Nate Burlsonesque tow drag swag. What a beautiful catch. Beautiful catch. Let's uh let's go down to Texas. >> Yeah, remember Sonic and Knuckles where. Knuckles is down in Texas now. And this. vision. love to see that out in space by 32 and. somebody else is back too. Tank Dell CJ. Stra. It's a big year for him. Big year. for this offense. He adds a level of. electricity to this offense. I cannot. wait to see him. But stay in the AFC. South down there in Tennessee.
>> Yeah, Bob Solid's boys, they look. fantastic. Cam Ward throwing an absolute. seed to Juan Dale Robinson. He came over. with Dave Ball from the Giants. They're. working on their connection. They look. fantastic. Tough times in the AFC South. for the Colts maybe. I don't know. But. let's go up to Minnesota, shall we? >> Shall we? Yeah. Minnesota. Kyler Murray. locked in a QB battle with JJ McCarthy. He completes a nice deep ball here to. Justin Jefferson over the middle. >> We think Kyler Murray won this this job. right. It's a competition. >> I don't know either way, but what's. going on here in Pittsburgh, Pat?
>> Yeah, let's go down to Pittsburgh. I'll. take that one, AJ. Why don't you This is. not from today. This is from This is. from yesterday. Okay, this is another. two-minute drill. Defense won today. Oh, who won yesterday? That's 8 to 88 up the. seam to move for the back shoulder. touchdown. Oh, it looks like both sides. of the ball are good, don't they? Let's. finish this thing off. D in a bayou up. >> Yeah. Were we supposed to end this with. an interview with Chris Ave? Yes, that. has been pushed to tomorrow. Tyler Sh, 26 years old in his second year headed. to the $93 million guarantee wide.
receiver. The Saints all of a sudden. talking about high hopes, high. expectations. Kelly Mo, an absolute dog. Chuck can spin it. Is this it for the. Saints? We shall see. A just got paid. Good for them. And that's a highlight. from every team in the league. >> Oh yeah. Good work, boys. >> Let's talk about two guys that play for. this particular team in this particular. league. And in this particular franchise. in City, these two will be remembered. for absolute ever. One of them obviously. has family associated with the Steelers. The other one has family associated with.
the number one booth for CBS now. >> Number one. >> Number one booth. >> Yeah, he's the number one booth for CBS. >> Yeah. This guy's brother. Ladies and. gentlemen, make some noise for TJ Ward. and Cam Hayward. [applause] Lads, lads. Lads, lads. >> Oh, I like that. He's eating the jams. right now. [cheering]. The lads love you. The lads love you. The lads love you. [cheering].
>> Crazy. >> Hey, congrats on the big two-minute. drill win. >> Is that great? Is that great? >> Yeah, of course. >> Yeah, it's good, isn't it? It's great. Yeah, that's really good. >> Oh, I forgot JJ's an investor, too. >> JJ is an investor. I think there's a. chance TJ is. >> I'm getting in. I'm getting in. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Grapes. Grapes coming August 17th, TJ. August. 17th, TJ. Um, lads, good to see you. Obviously, thank you for everything. you've done for the city of Pittsburgh. how you represent the Steelers and. obviously congrats on another year for. both of you. Okay, let's talk about. that.
>> We're obviously [laughter] very thankful. for that. TJ, can we talk about a. two-minute drill there? Uh 146 left. Uh. I think you guys were up seven. Offense. had two timeouts. Defense had one. timeout. We watched the entirety of it. They get down the goal line, it looks. like. Then you guys get a big time stop. How. >> Okay, Patrick Green makes a play. How. does the defense feel? You know, a lot. of conversation about McCarthy and Aaron. Rogers. You guys, how does it feel. coming into this year with uncertainty. or or how is it kind of? Uh we're trying. to embrace change, man. I think uh PG's. done a good a great job with our. defense. We have a lot of great players. Obviously, we also have some good vets.
in the room. Um it's tough running those. two-minute drills when you have an. offensive coach. You know, some flags. will start getting thrown. [laughter]. >> There's never a sack. >> Yeah, there's never a sack. Not allowed. to do a whole bunch of stuff, but uh. anytime we can win, it's it's huge for. us out there. >> Uh Cam, let's talk about that offensive. minded head coach here. They haven't. been like that long forever, uh. obviously. And you were a huge piece, I. think, to the Tomlin leadership group. We've seen it in miked up. We've seen it. in the Hard Knocks. Having a new coach. come in here, an offensive mind coach. What has it been like for you. personally? Uh, and also professionally,
I guess, should it fall into that? >> Well, I think it's just adjusting. Um, you know, as much as he's an offensive. minded coach, uh, we're still a. defensive-minded team. Um, and we're. trying to embrace that. We're trying to. learn. I got to rely on this guy a. little bit more uh to keep my head. right, but uh, you know, we're growing. through it. >> Yeah. AJ has a question for you. Yeah, TJ, there's obviously a ton of talk. about you standing up, moving around, doing all this with multiple other guys. on the team. I I guess what is that like. for you, especially this deep into your. career, and it has to feel good to be be. a versatile player where they do want to. move you around and give different looks.
to the offense? >> Yeah, I mean, I grew up watching the. Packers. Obviously, Clay Matthews moved. around a whole bunch and uh I'm I'm not. >> really really making you [laughter] feel. good over here. >> No, he was inside, man. He was inside. You're right. Very Yeah, he was rusher. like, you're right. There's there's. actually a story where he uh was healthy. scratch whenever they took on Vic. against Philadelphia. >> Wow. >> Oh, no. I was not healthy scratch. I was. I played kickoff team and I was the last. one down each time. I think. >> you [clears throat] try to dive and. [laughter] talk. The catapult was at an. alltime low.
>> Exactly. Exactly. >> Yeah, man. I'm just trying to be as. versatile as possible and uh I think. it's a lot easier said than done and. I've been stubborn to it for a long. time. Um, but this scheme doesn't allow. me to only go to the left and just fall. back on what I know best. And, uh, sometimes it feels awkward. U, but the. more that I do it, the more reps that I. do it, the more they make me, uh, get in. those uncomfortable positions on the. football field. Uh, the better that I'm. going to get at it and, uh, keep the. offense off edge. >> Tell me about the stubbornness cuz that. has happened, I think. Right. Cuz this. has been a conversation for a few years,
and I think your angle has been like, hey, I'm really good at this. I. [laughter] I I I am like best at this. having to. You said the scheme doesn't. allow you to be stubborn or whatever. You're going to be forced to get up. there. But what has that been like for. workouts? What has that been like for. mental? Like have you talked to others. that have done in the past like Clay? Like how have you kind of attacked that? Because I think you've always said I'm. really good at this. This is what I. should be doing. You I think you've. almost humbly said, why are we going to. be putting me into these positions now? You have to do it. How have you focused.
and attacked it this off season? just. trying to embrace it and in the. individual periods start on the right. side and then do my stuff on the left. side last because I know that that's. more natural to me. Um it's tough. because I never want to waste a rush, you know, like if I'm on the right side. and I have a bad rush, I'm like, damn, if I was on the left side there, I would. have had a sack, you know? So, it's hard. to adapt. Um but as I get older, as we. try to affect the offenses as a whole, um you have to grow and the only way to. grow is to to continue to listen to. where you can get better. And uh. >> can you catch. >> back over this? I cannot catch. Come on.
back over to back over to this side with. Cam. >> But I'll just say this, like as much as. he's on the left, that that makes all of. us step up on the other side, too. Like, it's not just him rushing. It's a it's a. group effort. So, if he's on the left, right, we all got to win our ones. one-on- ones. >> Yeah. And TJ, I just didn't know if you. could catch I didn't know if you were. worried about being out in open space a. little bit. No hands. >> Not at all. >> I believe you're one interception away. from being the second player with like. 110 sacks. So many. Yeah, we have. >> You peppers? Yeah. >> Is that good or no? you. >> pretty good.
>> Is that good? >> Oh, >> that's great. >> It's for you to say. [laughter]. >> It's great. Debo has a question. >> Obviously, we know it's a big change. with Mike McCarthy being the head coach, but what's been the first impressions, I. guess, for both of you guys with Patrick. Graham, the new defensive coordinator. That was with him way way back in New. England, but what's been your guys'. first impression? Obviously, in the. meeting rooms, in front of you guys, then out here on the field. >> Well, he's trying to bring that. Bellichic era back into it. And so, he's. been telling us a little bit what's been. going on in the past. Um, he has a. wealth of knowledge, too. So, you know, it's not like it's anything new for him.
Um, and we're just trying to marry the. two defenses we've had in the past. So, uh, he's been open to it. We've been. honest. Like, every time we're on the. field and off the field, we're just. communicating to get through all of our. different checks, all of our different. looks. Um, but he he's fun with it, too. So, it's been really cool. And, you. know, we're just growing every day. >> He wants us to not be robots, but at the. same time, not mess up for the guys. [laughter] in the back. You know what I. mean? I'm trying to be PG with it, but. uh I think he brings great organic.
energy. You know, he's not trying to be. something that he's not. Uh we clap it. up at the beginning of every meeting and. at first we kind of looked at each other. a little sideways, but that's just who. he is. And he brings that energy. He. wants the best for you. He's going to. let you take those chances if you know. what you're talking about and you do. your film study and uh I think uh we're. going to do some great things as defense. this year. >> TJ, much like me, AJ, and Debbud, it. does feel like you're a big RAR guy. You. [laughter]. love the ra, you know. Oh, you got to. hear his speeches. >> Yeah. Just like vets in the NFL. basically. I think we all kind of get to.
a point and I'm I'm putting myself in. there. You guys have played a lot longer. than me, but it does get to a point. where it's like, "All right, this ain't. youth football anymore." So, the. clapping thing [laughter] I assume that. was a a shock. I assume that was. >> I think he just started clapping this. week. >> Yeah. [laughter]. >> Thank you for coming around, bro. >> Buy it. Hey, let's get Hey, let's act. like What do you guys Are we. right-handed clappers? Left-handed? >> All right. Let's go. >> Yeah. Let's go. [laughter] Let's go. Go. [applause]. >> Here we go. >> That's it. [laughter].
>> Learn it. Cam, >> I like that you're buying in that. >> Hey, old dog new tricks. It's happening. right here in front of us and I can't. wait to watch it on the field. Tone has. a question. >> Cam, there's a this for both of you, but. Cam, there's a highlight. I think it was. like three years ago. You were 80 yards. down the field against the Chargers and. like we never want to see that. We never. want to see that again. And I was. talking to a certain long snapper on. your team. I don't know if there's any. more than one of them, but he was. talking about just how like this is the. biggest defensive line that you guys. have had in a very long time. Maybe the. biggest defensive line that you guys uh. he's ever seen. Does it start like I we.
grew up we grew up here and like it was. like oh the Steelers haven't allowed a. 100 yard rusher in 300 games or whatever. it was. Is that is that where it starts. like is that is does PG come in with. like and remember that about the steel. cart and stuff like it's does start with. stopping the run again or how's it how. has that message been talked about at. all? >> It's got to start there. Um, you know, I. think you look at our last couple years, when we don't stop the run, we give it. up. And so, if we want to be the number. one defense and we want to go far into. the playoffs, it starts with stopping. the run. Um, and we've just been. preaching that day in and day out. You. know, you got big guys like Dearmm, you.
got Keanu Benton, YA Black, you added. Sebastian Joseph Day, um, myself. included. But, uh, you know, we we all. got to stop the run. [laughter] It's not. just the D line, but like they got to. stop the run. Our corners got to be a. part of it. It It's a group effort and. when we when we do that, >> we kick a whole lot of ass. >> TJ, you want to start punching people on. the rush stop like run game? How how has. that kind of changed uh your world now. that you got to play a couple different. positions? >> I just got to get more comfortable with. it. Um but like I said, it allows us to.
make more plays and uh even if I'm not. the one making them, it frees other guys. up to make plays and uh we have so many. guys that are willing and able to throw. their head around in there and uh play. smash football. A lot of change around. the AFC North. We assume it'll be hot in. the kitchen. AFC North football is AFC. North football. Always has been, always. will be. And we appreciate you two and. your sacrifices that you've done, not. only for ball, but for this city through. it all. We appreciate the hell out of. you. Yes. That'll be good. >> Take a lot of protein in there. Yeah. He's an investor. He's an investor.
>> Yeah. Me too. Me too. Me too. Go ahead. and have your jams. Enjoy your life on. the. >> Eat it. [laughter] Eat it on TV. Let's. go. >> No, I can't buy it. I can't talk. >> I like that you're doing the grape. >> This is grape. It's coming out August. 17th. This might be your first time. trying. >> and there's protein in there for. recovery. >> Wow. [laughter]. >> Just for the protein. >> Ah, ladies and gentlemen, >> thank you. >> Hey, let's clap for the. [applause and cheering]. Let's clap, Cam. They're watching you,
Cam. >> Thank you, T. >> Hey, see you, Cam. Hey, Cam. Big ones. beginning [applause] of those meetings. Yeah, >> everybody's following you, Cam. >> I don't like him not clapping in the. front of those meetings. >> I'll tell you what, though. Playing. football for as long as he's played. Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now, general manager and head coach of the. Pittsburgh Steelers, Omar Khan, [cheering]. and coach Mike McCarthy.
[applause]. >> Okay, I like what we're doing here. We. got literally the entire. Great seeing you, coach. >> Great to see you, coach. You probably. have it on that side. Have it on this. side. Have it on this side. No, this. side here. Have it on this side here. >> Yeah, but No, all right. I was going to try to have it on your. left side. So, >> I'm a right side guy. He does it his. way. All right. You do. >> ain't my first headset. >> Yeah, I understand. I understand. [laughter] A lot of headset. We are.
calling plays though yet again. And I. know I had a year off and exciting and. enjoying. Great to see you, Omar. You. look incredible by the I don't know what. you're doing. We'll certainly talk about. that in a matter of moments. Uh, Coach. McCarthy, we watched the two-minute. drill. >> All right. >> What the hell? We had We had. >> Is it your birthday? >> No. >> It was It was Omar's birthday, >> wasn't it? >> No. >> No. >> Eventually, I'll take Omar. At some point this year, it was your birthday. >> Okay, let's let's move along. Let's talk. about the two men drill. We watched it.
>> We had good shot down there. DK Metaf. >> Yeah. >> We get down in there and then all of a. sudden that daunted. >> Steelers defense shuts you guys down. Was it a defensive winning day today? How would you judge practice and what. are your thoughts on the first day of. pads here with the Pittsburgh Steelers. as you as their head coach? >> Uh I would say overall um you know it. looked like our first day in pads. Um. you know you know first team period you. know we didn't have a good start there. offensively with the you know the pre-. snap penalty and the ball on the ground. But I I mean to be honest with you, it.
usually goes something like this or. close to this, you know, it's first time. in pads, you know, the pad level and you. know, just the pace of the practice. Yeah. So, we have work to do and that's. why we have that's why we have video and. I can't wait to get the hell out of. here. Get up on a video. >> As you [laughter] can I don't know if. you caught that little bee. I'm excited. for you to uh continue to make the team. better. Last question for me for you and. then obviously the boys will have some. and the fans certainly will. There's. been a lot of talk about how your camp. is obviously different than the camps. that have been here in the past. For you. though, this is just what you're doing,
right? How have you um acclimated. yourself to being a Pittsburgh Steeler. head coach? And how do you think the. Pittsburgh Steelers have acclimated to. you being the head coach of this team? >> Excellent question. I I think really uh. doing this. >> Yeah. And I think AJ can chime in on. this. I mean, you know, practices were a. lot different, you know, back in ' 06. and, you know, all the way up through. 2011. And then there's, you know, a. shift in how you're able to practice. You know, frankly, the two-minute rule. at the end there, we had to stop it. after a second down cuz we ran out of. time. So, it was a, you know, was. 105minute practice that,
>> you know, so just so you know, technically offense had two more downs. >> Oh, yeah. [laughter]. >> So, let's not get too excited. Uh, but, uh, I had two really good plays. [laughter]. >> I'm sure two touchdowns. >> So, yeah, exactly. So, no, it's um so. you know, I I think it's, you know, you. learn through time and and and really. and you tailor the the practices and you. know, we have menus of drills for every. for every period and you you continue to. work it, but at the end of the day, you. have to tailor the practice of how you.
want to play and and and we're getting. there. You know, like I said, it's the. first first batted practice and you. know, it's uh it was a little bumpy out. there. >> I heard you're not tackling cuz you're. soft. >> Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. >> That's what I didn't say it. I'm just. telling you, you know, [laughter]. >> hey, I don't care what they say about. you. I think you're a good guy, too. >> Yeah, I I kind of like you. [laughter]. It's hard sometimes, but. >> you know the gimmick. You know the. gimmick. No, but you coming out and. saying there's no tackling. There was. obviously a reaction. We saw somebody go. to the ground. We saw some thumping. today. For you, the big deal is we're.
definitely going to be physical. Got a. lot of vets on this team, though. Like, what is kind of the mindset? >> I mean, to be honest with you, it's it's. just trying to lower the risk for. injury, you know. It's uh you don't want. to be on the ground. and it it happens, you know, but um but you know, so we're. not taking the ball carried to the. ground, you know. So that's that's. really the difference. Um you know, everything else as far as the you know, the individual drills, the combo drills, the group drills, I'm I'm sure those. will all be similar. >> I love that you came out and said, "Well, we're going to have a physical football. camp. I mean, what are we even talking. about here? We're just not taking Yeah.
I'm not asking TJ Watt to take Rico Dao. down to the ground." Okay. Sue me in. this entire thing, obviously. >> It's a good business decision, don't you. think? >> Yeah. Yeah. I'd say I' but now if nobody. get if TJ Watford gets out of tackle. it's on your ass. >> That's fair. >> Okay. All right. Sounds good. Omar, last. question for me for you and before the. boys have them. You piece this team. together. A lot of veteran spots. Obviously you draft quarterback this. year goes crazy. You bring in some. people. How did you want to separate. this particular team from maybe Steelers. teams of the past or is it still the. same mantra, same type of guys even.
though coach McCarthy's head coach now? >> Yeah. Another good question Pat. Yes. >> You know the stand [laughter] you're on. fire, dude. the standards been set here. So, for us, it's just really trying to. continue what's what's been done here. before. You know, the six Super Bowl. championships, right? And um we're. trying to get a seventh one and, you. know, just really really trying to stick. to the standard that's been set here. >> Tone has a question for you. >> Yeah, I do. Omar, so like when you come. into a camp like this and are you more. focused on the rookies that you just. drafted? Are you more focused on Rico.
Dattle and Michael Pitman and all the. guys like do you guys do you watch those. guys or do you tend like to notice that. you watch those guys more cuz you just. brought them in. You don't know them as. much when you're watching practice. >> 100%. You know, you I I sit here saying. we're going to watch them all the same, but obviously early on, you try to take. a a closer peek at those young guys and. the new players that are here and the. players we don't know as well, maybe as. the ones we had, but certainly uh. certainly that that uh that happens. Yeah. Then coach, I wanted to ask you, so obviously the last two two years, Fatanu um and um what's it? Right guard.
McCormick. Thank you. McCormack, we're. playing the right side. They played. 3,000 snaps on the left side in college. It looks like they're playing on the. left side now. uh for you guys, what was. the what went into that situation? Because obviously the O line and the. continuity is huge this year. >> I think anytime you come into, you know, a new organization, you have a a. short-term plan and a long-term plan. I. think that's part of it. You you. evaluate the players. Um you want to. give the players an opportunity to be a. starter. >> Um that, you know, those guys were. drafted, you know, that as a left side. players. Uh yeah,
>> I have a belief of what the left side. player should look like versus the right. side player. Um, you know, so your. scheme and which way you go there, that's all factor. But, you know, it's. it's definitely uh two men that we feel. really good about. They're established. and, you know, hopefully they're anchors. over there for quite some time. >> Uh, that was a good question, too, wasn't it? >> Outstanding. Thank you. Thank you. I. love all the questions. >> Yeah. We need a lot a lot of public. stuff about us. Go ahead, [laughter]. dude. You know what? Don't matter what. they say. Go ahead. >> And coach, you said obviously there's a.
lot of work to do. Day one in pass. You've been installing the offense, OTAAS, mini camp, now we're here in. training camp. At what point do you will. you think you'll be up to speed or feel. comfortable? Obviously, you're familiar. with Aaron, but a lot of new pieces. I. would assume a new offense. At what. point do you expect to feel comfortable. going into the season? >> You know, that's a great question. I. mean, that's I mean, that's why we're. here. I mean, another great question. I. just uh that's why you practice and. that's why I try not to get too high or. too low when when you have your first. batted practice and you know you have to.
wear your head coach at you know like. this you got to flip it around sometimes. when we're as an offensive guy. So yeah. it's um you know we got a game here ne. you know right around the corner. So. >> Aaron playing in that one. >> What's that? >> Is Aaron playing in that one? >> I hope so. We'll see what happens. >> Oh what is your belief in preseason. games. >> and has it changed? I it, you know, depends on where I think the team's at. And I think year one is is different, you know. Um, so yeah, I would lean. towards playing everybody in year one. >> Oh, I can't wait to see that. Aaron's.
going to love it. I I've heard him give. a quote where he said, "Obviously, preseason's preseason, but if Big Mike. wants me to play, I'll play." It feels. like he has been like that about. everything with you. He came out and. mentioned how, you know, you being here. is a huge reason why he came back. I. think he was okay being done. I think. it's been like that for a couple years, but he's trying to find reasons to, you. know, uh I think he doesn't want to be. done, could be done, find reasons not to. be done. Wife said he could play another. year. You being here is a huge deal. What has it been like working back with. Aaron? And where are you at now versus.
maybe back whenever you and Aaron were. winning 107 games together? You know. that you guys have the second most. amount of wins between a head coach and. a quarterback together. Patrick Reed, Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, obviously. number one with 112. You you two 107. Sirriani and Herd 62. Has it been like. picking up like the old days offense and. everything or how has it been between. you two? >> Uh definitely. I mean it definitely was. like picking up where you left off. But. you know a lot of it is just you know. nomenclature and terminology change and. just getting in tune with that and but.
you know going back to the you know. first part of it do you play you know. Aaron and you know every quarterback. that I've coached as a head coach they. all they all want to play you know far. Dak I mean they they want to play but. it's really the combination of guys you. know and where do you think you are as a. team but then the flip side of it is you. know those young guys can't play enough. you know we got two young quarterbacks. I mean, we we have to come out of this. preseason with, you know, Will and Drew. playing a lot a lot of football. So, >> they love they love the young lads here. A lot of big pops out of the boys. And I.
think a lot of the highlights coming out. of Drew Aller, people are saying, "Hey, good to see, you know, good to see. that." Obviously with a massive pick. AJ. has a question for you. Yeah, Omar, as. far as you and and coach Mike go, I. guess what is this this camp is another. opportunity, I guess, for you guys to. kind of hang out and see how you see. ball and not only we know the players. all bond through this, but is this. something where you guys get to hang out. and see how you each kind of view the. game and everything? >> Yeah, it's it's uh it's been great, AJ. You know, it's it's funny. If you would. have told me uh was that 2000 that we'd. be sitting here 26 later years later.
here. >> uh you know, doing this together and. talking ball, I'm not sure I would have. believed you. But it it's been awesome. It's been a grind. and him and I since. since day one, right? It's been it's. been a lot of fun, a lot of football, and we share the same vision, same goal, and you know, we're trying to bring a. another Super Bowl to this group right. back here. So, you know, that's that's. [cheering] what we're trying to do. Hell. yeah. >> Historic happening here at St. Vincent. 58 years team's been here. >> Yeah, it's unbelievable. I mean, look at. this setup. This what a beautiful. college. I haven't been up here in.
decades. [laughter] I I just can't. believe it's beautiful. And the fans, >> have you talked to. >> And the great questions. lot of good and great defense. I don't. know if you saw a two-minute drill. Great defense here [laughter] with the. pitchers. >> That's my team. >> It was [laughter] TJ and Cam. TJ was. here. He's like, yeah, it is. interesting. You know, these two-minute. drills, I think we're probably going to. start seeing a little bit more flags. probably for the offense. There's going. to be a little bit, oh, there is a. timeout all of a sudden. He did get out. of bounds. It's interesting because. obviously defensive minded team for a.
long time. Still have to have that. We'll always have that because it's. Pittsburgh. But as a Yinszer running the. team, I think you've always been very. open about the honor and also like what. you're trying to do here. I would like. to say it's been so much fun getting to. know you and I can't wait to watch you. coach this team this year. And I think. they all feel the same way, bro. [cheering]. So, good luck, brother. Um, and uh, thank you so much for joining us. Thank. you for the hospitality. It's very good. clapping over there. And all you got to. do is just win a Super Bowl, dude. >> That's all you got to do. >> That's it. Just as easy as that. Just.
win a Super Bowl. >> That's why we're here. >> Yeah. Amen. Ladies and gentlemen, general manager and head coach of the. Pittsburgh Steelers, Omar Khan, Mike. McCarthy. [cheering]. >> You're going to love it. You're going to. love it. You're going to love it. >> Thank you, Omar. >> Thank you, dude. You look unbelievable. A lot of swimming with the kids. >> Oh, I like that. Any science? I'm on all. the science. If you need anything, let. me know. Appreciate you, dude.
We got McCarthy. >> Hey, we'll see you in a bit, coach. >> We just kind of invited ourselves into. his life. >> Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now is. a four time four time four time MVP, an absolute icon. Yeah. Ladies and. gentlemen, starting quarterback, not. yet. We got uh we got eight minutes. until the internet. >> Ladies and gentlemen, Aaron Rogers is. here. [cheering].
All right, Coach Mike on his way out. I. see a couple of the lads. Uh Pat. Frymouth who saved a baby and DK Mechaf. who. is a physical specimen. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. That's my first time. getting eyes on DK Mechaf in real life. Holy What is that thing? That's an. unbelievable specimen right there. >> Specimen. >> Good for you, dude. Good for you, man. [laughter]. >> All right, let's go. We only got 8. minutes. We got a lot to talk about. >> Yes, we do. Yes, we do. Okay, first of. all, congratulations on another year,
dude. We are very happy that you're. still involved. We're still very happy. that you're doing very happy. Uh, Pittsburgh Steelers fans also pumped. Tone Diggs didn't like that he had to. wait again. He was a little bit mouthy. during that whole part. >> I don't care. >> Do you know why, Aaron? No. >> Because I got to defend you the entire. time you're making a decision because I. took an oath when I was in B when I was. born to defend every player on this. team. So, when I hear people mad that. you're taking your time, I got to defend. them and then they get mad at me. So. yeah, it was very selfish of me, but I'm. glad you're back. >> He didn't miss a single day. Okay. Was.
also here in the offseason. We. appreciate that. Now. >> I missed, you know, some I didn't miss. any OTAAS that I wasn't, you know, excused from. >> Some stuff. >> excused from. >> But we talked about um a couple times. today because you've been very open. about coming back for this year, last. rodeo, and you talked about your wife. saying, "Hey, have another year." Mike. McCarthy being here obviously a big. deal. Can you tell us about the mindset. of coming into your last season? Like. that's a real thing it feels like. Cuz. is everything better? Is everything. funner? Is everything more awesome? Like, how do you kind of view this year. versus maybe the years of the past? >> I'm gonna bleed the fifth.
>> Okay. [laughter]. >> Okay. >> Love that guy. >> Okay. >> Like that. Absolute coward Tony. [laughter] P. >> Absolute coward. There's back. >> Are you kidding me? >> Yeah. 111. >> You got a pardon and you're in and you. pleaded over a hundred times. Yeah. >> At the White House. What are you scared. of, Tony? I thought you were the. science. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> I thought you were I am science. and you. get up there and you can't answer a. question. >> Yeah. >> What are we doing? And how much time did. the network spend to that? How much time. did they spend on my responses every.
week on my vaccination status? On Taylor. and Travis's wedding? >> Yeah. [screaming]. >> Did they do Did they do even a minute? Did they do even a minute on Tony. Fouchy? >> No, I I don't think I've heard. >> No, I bet they didn't. >> But on that note, >> and there was another scandal this off. season, too, involving a voter for MVP, for coach of the year. How much time do. you did your network spend? Where's your. C? Did your network spend on that. >> network? I wish I wish you [laughter].
much. >> This is awesome. Go back to Fouchy. >> Go back to the coward Tony Fouchy and. science. [laughter]. >> Who's spending the entire time writing. in his diary about how fun it is to be. famous? You got to be kidding me. >> Okay, so on that note, >> what are you going to say about me now? >> What are you going to say about me now? >> No, I got no debate here. Uh, you got a. 500. >> No, seriously. What are they going to. say about me now? Now, now they can't. talk about the CO stuff because. obviously it was it was made, you know, in a lab in China. That's like not even. questionable anymore. Tony Fouchy is an.
absolute criminal. >> I'm on I'm on good terms with my family. [laughter] I'm on good terms with my. family. What are you going to say now? >> What are you going to say now? >> I want to let you know it's been a fun. ride for you. I wish the last It's been. a great great life and a great career. And it's nice to be sitting on this side. now, especially after that coward played. the fifth over [laughter] 100 times. >> Okay. I thought you had a pardon there, Tony. Why couldn't you answer one. question the entire time? >> Okay, we got four minutes till the heart. out. >> Yeah, [laughter] I got four more. minutes. We keep this going. Keep. it going. Anything else?
>> I got at least four minutes. >> Okay, I got Okay, [laughter]. >> there's a lot of silence, though. But I. will say this, I got to give I got to. give flowers to Stephen A. Smith, my old. friend Stephen A, cuz he was man enough. to actually admit and apologize to Kyrie. Irving. So, I got to give shout out to. my guy Stephen A. >> You are not a coward. I appreciate you. >> Okay. Can we talk about uh [laughter] we. we'll wrap up that conversation. >> Other than that, there's been a lot of. silence. I feel like, you know, like 19. seconds about one subject. Oh, don't. don't talk about that. You know, we can.
talk about Rex Ryan's foot fetish, but. please don't talk about, you know, uh, you know, anything else right now. Don't. talk about, you know, any scandals. involved. Don't talk about, [laughter]. you know, pop culture. Talk about Taylor. and Travis's wedding. Yeah. What What do. the insiders know about that? But don't. talk about, you know, that actually. has to do with our business or right and. wrong. >> Can we remind people? Can we remind. people a little bit why you're doing all. this? Can we Can we remind people? >> No, I don't care. [laughter]. >> Okay. So, in 2000 20 Okay, we were there. for all of this. >> 2021.
>> Sorry. 2021 went down. >> Okay. There was a 500page report. >> twice. >> that Aaron looked into with many doctors. about his body and said vaccination. Now, that became a talking point of. COVID, I believe, around the entire. globe. And the only reason why I know. that is because I. >> I was coming on the show every I was. called a murderer because I was. platforming Aaron Rogers who was making. the decision that was best for himself. So, as soon as I see all this start.
happening with Fouchy, I knew that boy, you were certainly having a time cuz. your name was slandered. You were called. a murderer. You were called a lot of. things in. >> I was endangering my teammates and this. and that. Now look what happened. We. talked about they suppressed early. treatments. They lied about where it. came from. Tony Fouchi's writing in this. journal about I don't want to you know. like create any vaccine hesitancy if I. tell them what the actual stats are. How. many papers have been written? How many. McCulla and Malones and all the great. doctors out there who actually did you.
treatment on the front end and repurpose. drugs that are the safest profiles in. the world. But no, Tony Fouchy pushing. his medicine just like he did back in. the 80s. And now when you have a you. have an autopin pardon, [laughter]. you know what happened? >> You have an autopinned pardon. >> Two minutes. >> But and and you can't uh you can't. answer one question. Not even your name. >> You I mean, come on. What do we do? And. how much time did the network spend on. that? >> Hey, can we do something for you real. quick? >> How much time?
>> Hey. Hey, can we do something for you. real quick? >> Yeah. >> Hey, way to stand on your truth. throughout the entirety of that thing. I. feel great about it. >> Congratulations. >> Yeah, you should. >> I feel great about it. >> I told you I'd be on the right side of. history when I had that mustache and we. were in New York. [laughter]. >> You had that Halloween party though that. killed a lot of people. Remember you had. that Halloween party. >> Oh yeah. We were a 10,000 square foot. warehouse with 21 people and you know. the I am science has 6T of distancing. You know that'll be a good thing if we. can scare them enough. You know they. probably take this vaccine that's had. zero trials done for it. You have no.
idea what the consequences are. There's. no informed consent. You can't even look. at the insert to know what you're doing. They're not even, you know, pulling the. the plunger back to make sure that they. got in the right spot in the arm. Like, what are we even talking about here? The. insanity. I stood I sat here amongst a. lot of actually brave Americans who. avoided the trillion dollar propaganda. campaign that was hijacked on the. American public. And look at us now. >> Hey, way to go. >> WE HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY. WE HAVE.
ANYTHING to say. We will back tomorrow. on TV live from Indianapolis. That's MVP. Aaron Rogers. Okay, good. And now we're. digital. Now we continue. >> Now you can really let it. [laughter]. >> Now we will continue. I want to let you. know, good for you, man. Just because of. everything that was said about you for. years and years by a lot of people, man. There were some powerful positions. coming out saying you were the worst. person on earth. >> Remember remember uh 8 Mile, right? In. the last the last rap, you remember what. he does. >> against Papa Doc? He basically said, "This is all the you're going to.
say about me, right?" Yeah. >> It's like all these different. narratives. He's this, he's that. Blah. blah blah. His family hates him. He's a. murderer. He's in danger in old people. All the over the years. >> Like, just keep it 100. That's all I'm. saying. Just keep it 100. I'm not taking. this victory lab. It's just like. >> I think we should kind of kind of Yeah, it feels like you kind of should. Now, on that note, >> seriously, come on. >> We're going to worry about ball at some. point. But on that note, I am very. thankful that you are having this. experience that you're having because.
boy, it got real loud. You were a very. terrible person. I mean, it was uh and I. was the reason why I was the network. doing like you have literally an. individual that maybe used to work at. ESPN that covers our league at the. highest level and there's a major. scandal and it's just like nobody can. talk about it. What are we even. doing? >> Personal lives are personal lives. [laughter] like you like you of all. people should know that by. >> I I understand but if it's affecting. certain things if there's leaks going on. if there's tampering going on.
>> if if that person is also an MVP voter. and a coach of the year voter remember. when I won MVP in 2021. >> and that bomb in the in Chicago. >> yeah that that's real life like how are. we allowing these people to have an. >> impact porn hub arush is what. I remember his name okay so on that note. Good for you, man. Hey, actually, >> maybe eight. >> I told I told these boys I was bringing. it today. >> Did you tell Bert that? >> Bert loves it.
>> Yeah, Bert. Bert [laughter] loves it. >> Dude, if you just go back and search. Aaron's name and you should take this. in. You should take this in. >> Yeah. >> Well, there's probably some uh you know. Oh, that's courageous individuals back. there. >> Okay. Okay. I was about to say there's. no need to bury anybody back here. >> No. And I said there's some courageous. individuals. >> That's all you do that because there was. a lot of enemies of yours, man. There's. and once again I would like to say the. only reason why I know that is because. you have the ability to disappear from. the internet and I think you get updated. on everything and you see everything. Man, I'm on there every day. >> I don't see everything. I get updated on.
certain things. Now Bird's my update, you know, tell me, hey, this guy. thrashed you or this guy said this or. beer for this, you know. >> Okay, so can we talk about some of the. things you mentioned there that they. can't you being back with your family? Awesome. Hey, [applause]. >> let's go. >> It's both sides. Obviously, it's both. sides. A lot of people have killed you. for this entire thing. We have always. said like, hey, Aaron also has his side. of this entire story. For the fact that. that's gonna come together and now. >> but you know, honestly, the the the. reason there was a schism and the reason.
we're back together is nobody's. business. >> Agreed. >> And I gave a little glimpse glimpse. that's I'm not going to do like, you. know, I don't even really post anymore. I posted our trip in Idaho. The previous. post I posted before that was from the. Malibu trip the year before. You know, I'm not going to be posting a bunch of. stuff and blowing it up. I just wanted. to give a little shout out there. I. mean, uh, >> and a shout out to little Jack and Eevee. as well watching. They're probably not. watching right now. They're probably. napping right now, let's be honest. But. my little niece and nephew was great to. see him. But yeah, it's good. It's good. to have a full circle and a lot of full.
circles this past year. >> But um, >> yeah, people don't know and they. shouldn't know. It's none of their. business. >> Yeah, but we do know you're back. >> But there's a lot of conjecture because. I'm the darkness guy and I'm the co and. danger guy and I'm this and I'm that. In. the end, all I'm saying is like, >> yeah, there's been a lot of that. Yeah, there's been a lot of that. And on that. note, do you think that's going to make. you play great ball this year? Cuz I. think it feels like you're a pretty free. individual right now. Not you ever. weren't, but it does feel like vibes. pretty immaculate around. >> I just I really I used to not really.
care. I care even less. I'm going out. after this. I'm not going to be I'm not. going to be uh you know out there doing. a podcast chasing down. >> Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. We might someday. >> chasing down weirdass parties in the. East Coast and wearing white. I'm not. going to be doing any. >> I'm not going to be doing anything. >> Yes. >> You know, I'm going to be. >> You're not going to be a goofball fest. >> I'm going to be out of the light. So, I. might as well get a couple in. I don't. get to do this show as much as I would.
like to do, I think, from time to time. So, especially when I get a chance to to. get after that uh [laughter] gutless. organization you have to be connected. with. Oh jeez. So we. >> the government. [laughter]. >> I just don't care anymore. >> Okay, we like that. >> I car it a little bit now. I don't care. at all. >> No, we like that. I think it's going to. be good for the football. >> All I care about is getting out there on. that field and playing my best ball. >> Okay, so say whatever the hell you want. about me. I don't care. >> Okay, so let's talk about that. Mike. McCarthy, obviously, uh, head coach and.
offense coordinator Cohen plays. You. guys have won 107 games. Obviously, it's. spectacular you two together. Feels like. mentally you are at a point where you're. about to go play your best football. Does it feel like you're right back in. to the offense that you had 10 years ago. or how many years ago? >> No, there's been some tweaks for sure. There's been some tweaks. >> Oh, I thought they were talking about. what I just said about Fouchy. >> No, that's our lower third. They. probably are. If I see it, too. >> Yeah, if I if I guess I'd assume that is. the case. But how has it been with Mike? >> I love being back with Mike. I mean, Mike and I have a lot of history.
together. You know, we were different. places when he first came out in '06 to. to Green Bay. But, uh, lots happened. between then and now we're laugh about. because, you know, he was my age when he. took the job, I believe, in Green Bay. And he just had Alex, his oldest. daughter, and now, you know, he's got. the two boys on Jess's side. He's got. two beautiful girls who are like almost. all the way grown up now. It's pretty. wild to see, but it's fun to catch him. at I hope he would say the same catching. me now. Uh, I think I'm a little less uh. intense. Uh, okay. in some of those.
meetings. [laughter]. In some of the meetings, you know, I'm a. little more, >> you know, I don't got, like I said, I. don't care. You know, let's say whatever. I want. What are you going to say? Godless organization. >> Whoa. Jeez. On that note, >> no integrity. >> Mike McCarthy feels the same way about. being with you, I believe. I believe he. is. Uh, >> look at your hair, by the way. That's. nice. >> I know. Long back. >> He's growing back like the old school. Packers did. He actually has a question. for you. >> Yeah. How you doing? >> I'm great. I'm doing great. >> as a human. Like, you're doing great. It. seems seems like you feel good. >> Yeah, I'm doing great. We had a great.
time in Idaho. We had some guys came. out. >> Just some uh some good team bonding. It. was a lot of fun. >> You guys I saw you took pictures smoking. sig. >> A lot of man stuff. You know. >> in your hand lot of man stuff dude. stuff. Like I saw you riding horses. dressed. You had some wardrobe. >> Yeah. We had shot some guns. Did some. fishing. >> We had a good time. >> Really good time. So I'm doing great. >> How do you feel about the vibe of the. team? >> Yeah. >> Vibe is good. Vibe is really good. Yeah. Uh not as not as many uh you know. hangout nights yet. I think guys were a. little tired last week, but uh it's been. some fun uh fun hangs. Somebody pulled.
the fire alarm or something happened. last night. There was something going. on. >> Bennett SC probably. >> Yeah, but it's good time. I love being. up here at Lro. Haven't been to Meadows. yet, but that's on the docket. >> Okay. >> Yeah. What's the ice cream? Meadows is. the ice cream place. >> Yeah, it's like a better Maybe maybe not. healthier. I'd like to think healthier. uh Dairy Queen. >> Okay. >> Where's it at? It's near literally right. there. You haven't had it this year yet. >> You go out the back right over here. Take a left. Right. Boom. Boom. Right. next to Sharks. We were there last. night. >> Right next to Sharks. Exactly. >> Yeah, we're at Sharks last night. >> I bet you were.
>> Well, at Eaten Park. We had a good time. >> Nice. >> Cheyenne over there at Eaten Park will. keep the place open for you if you want. a smiley cookie. Gumpy's as tall as the. smiley cookie mascot. >> So, we saw that last [laughter] night. No, you did not son it. You were on your. tippy hand on his head. >> No, I mean that you that thing certainly. alpha. There it is. Yeah. Yeah. Gumpy. got kind of. >> Where's Gump at? >> Yeah. Gumpy's back in the truck with the. lads. There's lads. Hey, there we go. >> Good to see you. Good to see you. >> Is that Foxy behind the beard? >> Look at you. Are you coloring that. thing?
>> You said yes. >> Oh, no. He's not. Is he? >> He's super alpha, dude. I'm going to say. it. He is uh he's married, having a kid. now. >> Absolute alcoholic. They had to get beer. for him so that after the show he could. have a beer. So, >> see light or what? >> Love that. >> Yeah, we're a little bit worried about. him. Debbot has a question for you. >> Yeah, it's kind of a two-parter. You. obviously we just talked about the off. season with the boys. Uh, but how's it. been on the field with your new weapons. that you have particularly? And then. with the two-minute drill, me and AJ are. watching. You motion it. You got DK in.
the slot. I'm like, "Okay, here we go.". Slant, walk in, touchdown. What happened. there? Why didn't you throw the ball? What was the read? >> There were guy on Rico was 12 yards off. I wanted to just throw it to him. Would. have been a walk-in. >> He wasn't looking. >> Oh, we could see. Is that practice? >> Yeah, >> that's what I call practice. >> The funniest part about practice is the. first period against the defense is a. walkthrough. It's supposed to be an. offense only period. So there's a, you know, douche that. wears number 90 for us who picked. [laughter] he picked me off the other. day. It's a it's a defense doesn't touch. the ball drill.
>> Yes. >> And then he runs around. He's getting. the crowd. I'm like it's a walk through. and it's an offensive period. What are. we doing? [laughter]. >> And then like we're out there. I throw a. ball. DK makes a beautiful catch. They're cheering. It's like. >> no, they're not supposed to. It's not. contested catches. It's a jog through. period the first of the day. So, >> if it means anything, if we would have. seen TJ pick you off and it would have. hit the internet, we would have. certainly been like, "Oh no, is Aaron. Rodgers struggling to get Mike. McCarthy's offense?".
>> JJ TJ Watt in a new role in the defense. dropping out. I'm like, [laughter]. it's a jog through its offensive period. What are we doing that time of year? >> That's football, baby. Yeah. But, uh, but no, I mean, I think DK's got DK had. an amazing spring and he's been killing. people. >> Fman shaved a baby, too, the other day. He did. How about that? >> Yeah. Fri Moose. >> Yeah, baby. >> Pat. >> F Moose. Saving babies. >> So that's Pat in a nutshell. He's got. great awareness. You know, I hit him on. a the same back shoulder the end of. practice a couple days ago.
>> Yeah, we got the clip. It was great. touchdown, especially in the red zone. >> That was actually a live speed drill. >> Oh, it looked like he was wide open. >> How is the uh chirping between offense. and defense? We don't. >> It's not much. Today was the first day. of pads. There's like a couple guys who. you can tell are newer guys. Like I feel. like Dcoin Brisker is going to going to. talk a little bit. 51, you know, he got. paid and I feel like I thought once he. got paid he was going to settle down and. stop all the shenanigans at practice. It. hadn't stopped. >> We love her. We love that man. >> He's a Wisconsin guy, you know.
>> Ste uh Tone has a question for you. >> Yeah, I'm looking at Pat and I'm looking. at DK and you have Darnell and you bring. over Michael Pitman. That's a lot of big. bodies. Uh, how do you like how do you. feel about big body wide receivers? Is. that more contested catches or like how. do you feel cuz Roman obviously is. smaller. He can make he can create. separations, but how do you feel about. the room as a whole? >> I like the room a lot. I like I like the. size of our guys. You know, obviously. Darnell is the most athletic 300 plus. >> Yeah. >> player in the league probably.
>> Yeah. Um, but I think, you know, those. two guys when you're talking to them, they really like uh what we've been. doing in the installs and the offense. and both of them been making a lot of. plays. You know, I just I really love uh. their work ethic and their attitude. I. think that's the most important thing, setting kind of the standard for the. room. Roman's grown a lot. I think he's. done a nice job in the spring and and. he's had some some plays as well. He has. a different skill set. You know, I say. that to stick in a league, you have to. you have to do something uh well and to.
to have a long career, you got to have. an excellent trait. And his is his speed. and he is legitimately one of the. fastest guys on the field at all times. if not the fastest guy. So when he's. using that speed and and and you know. he's he's dangerous. I think a. difference. Last year it felt like he. was kind of like a deer running around, bouncing around and now he's like a very. finely tuned uh fast guy where I feel. like he's playing almost more under. control with that top end speed and he's. had a really nice spring and a nice. start to camp. >> Can you tell me a little bit more about. you and DK's relationship cuz you guys.
were working out of UCLA before you were. a Pittsburgh Steeler I believe before it. was announced last season. Then. obviously last year you guys have some. great connections. This offseason you. guys were riding horses together. Now. he's obviously over here knowing that. you're about to cook the hell out of. Tony Fouchy. You know, he comes over. here. [laughter] That's my first time. getting eyes on this particular I don't. even know what you would say about this. I I mean, what is DK like? >> He is a specimen. I mean, that is that's. a compliment. Obviously, you're an. alien, dude. Uh [laughter] it is an. absurd thing, but what has it been like.
building and developing with DK? Obviously, you've had great wide. receiver connections in the past. This. is a very high-profile, very public, and. a Steelers is very abnormal to have this. type of wide receiver paid the way that. he's paid. What has it been like growing. with DK? And what do you expect from him. this year? >> My body type, he's like nobody I've ever. played with. Uh he weighs 230ish, two. high 220s, and he's like 10 10% body fat. maybe or less. Uh he's he's an absolute. uh animal. But the the thing that uh you.
realize after especially after going to. Idaho is you have a lot of a lot of. closeness with guys on the team. But um. last year compared to this year it felt. like we were teammates last year and. this year we're actually really close. friends. So that's been really cool. And. not that I didn't love him last year. like that. >> Not that I didn't love him last year but. we've been able to really. >> to bondry. Oh no. >> he's crying over there. to bond and. connect uh in a different way and and uh. it makes a difference for sure. He's my.
roommate over here at the uh at the. dorms and uh DK has a big heart. He's. got a really big heart and he really. cares about doing things the right way. And I would say that if you want to know. as you're if you're a young player and. you want to know what it looks like to. be an NFL player and to practice the. right way, you should watch DK McKay. >> Yeah. And and you should know you're. never going to look like. >> Yeah, you definitely definitely try. Definitely try. I want a DK since he. took that picture with uh AJ. >> Yeah. >> Back in college. I'm like, can I get one. of those guys? [laughter].
>> One of those guys. >> Old miss. How about when he walked uh. >> who'd he walk? Uh Buddha. >> Yeah, I was walked Buddha. You remember. that? Obviously. Maybe play some defense. this year. Maybe. Let's get on. >> He played a rep. He played a rep of. Gunner last year. >> Yeah. Let's get you on the punt team. >> I remember that. I knew that. >> I'd hit a fair catch right at that. I. mean, DK's out here. Let's hope the. Gotti doesn't get hurt, but also we just. hit to the right side. That's a fair. catch immediately. Something to think. about. >> I think I think those guys are going to. piggy back on what I said from earlier. too. They got some some.
should have heard Moth earlier. Yeah, Moth got I think I I told him remind him. that Fouch's uh wife is Gain Maxwell's. [clears throat] sister also. Gain. Maxwell. That's true. Alleged. That's a. legend. Jesus Christ. >> That's a legend. >> Okay. Thank you for throwing that word. in there. That's great news for all of. us. Connor has a question for you. >> Yeah, Aaron, this has been awesome. [laughter] It's a real dream. Thank you. so much. Uh, you know, you congratulated. me on my marriage last week. I. appreciate that. And, you know, I saw.
the clip of you and Kyle Brand and kind. of, you know, what you said about the. entire thing, but as from, you know, your perspective, how has marriage. changed your life? Like, how much better. has it been? How, you know, any any. marriage advice for me? I know everyone. says happy wife, happy life, but uh in. particular, is there anything you know. you've kind of drawn from that has. completely changed your perspective and. kind of just your entire life? >> Uh everything. I mean uh the woman's. intuition is a real thing and during. this process of thinking if I want to.
come back or not, you know, obviously. she was my biggest ally uh in you know, helping me to think about all the. different things that goes into it. because it's not just oh I want to play, it's it's the grind of the season is can. you be actually fully invested then what. does it look like? Are you going to go. do a trip? Are you going to how you. going to spend time with the guys? What's your weekend look like? And and. because it's a strain on the on not just. the player, but on the wife and the. family if you have kids and uh you're. you're basically all in together. And I. wanted us to to make a decision. together. Um and you know, she's she's.
incredible. And I you know, I'm excited. about this year being able to uh to do. it one last time and then excited about. the next chapter, which is which is. having kids. I know you. >> come on. You're adding adding to it. This guy's got a bunch. >> Come on. Where we at? >> AJ's got way too many, I'd say. Now, they're all great kids, >> but there's no way that you should. humanly be able to handle that many. children. I I don't know how people do. >> Yeah. No such thing. >> Well, you got a you got a great wife. You don't really do anything. You're.
[laughter] just absentee father of the. year. >> You wish. I actually overcommitted. I'm. helping coach three three uh youth. football teams. [laughter] So, yeah. >> Good for you, man. Good for you. I will. say the kid thing is crazy because. perspective changes, but it sounds like. you're saying the [clears throat] same. thing because you've gotten married to. the person that you think is perfect for. you. >> Yeah. I mean, uh, you know, you make a lot of poor. decisions over the years with the well, me, I've made a lot of poor decisions. with previous partners over the years.
and, um, then you meet the obviously the. the right person for you and you go, "God, I was a idiot.". >> Yeah, I can imagine. [laughter] Now, super private with this though. I mean, we're talking about it right now, obviously, because a lot of big. decisions have been made, but it's super. duper private for you. And I feel like. that's very different than every. relationship you've had in the past. That's on purpose, I'd assume. >> Yeah. I'm not forced to write these, you. know, horrible Instagram posts. And, [laughter] you know, when I'm next to. the person, I got to give him a birthday. shout out on Valentine's Day. >> Hold on. On that note, I'd like to say. happy anniversary to my wife and also.
happy birthday to my wife. Very, very. nice. >> I'm not judging any of that. Anybody. does, but I don't like doing that. and I never have to do that ever again, thankfully. >> Yeah. Well, I'm just saying I I feel. like we're all very happy for you. finding your person. Happy that you're. having this freedom. Happy you have the. mindset of your last year because I know. there's been a lot of questions for like. the last five years, I'd say. Probably. last four years maybe. >> Is that right? >> After 22. Yeah. >> So, probably four years. You've had. >> her. >> But now you have an actual answer. >> I was on that other team. >> I mean, you've had quite a run today. if.
you would like to say anything about it. [laughter]. >> No, we can go back to we can go back to. >> Fouchy. finish where we started. >> Okay, on that note, you have a lot of. teammates that are vaccinated. That's. good. Heading into the season, >> a lot of people had probably fake V. cards back in the day, too. >> Not me. >> They didn't have a problem with that. I. mean, I remember seeing some of the vax. cards. I'm like, it was like written in. crayon. I'm like, all right, so we're. going to pass that off, but we're going. to be second rate citizens over here. I. got to wear a yellow armband. Train in.
the back. Can't be around more than. three people. Oh, you know, you got to. wear a mask when you do your uh your. interview. And all of us are going to be. mashed up the entire time back here. We're 20 ft away from you cuz that's. safety first. >> What a croc of we had to go. through. [laughter]. >> Crazy time. What a time. >> Unbelievable. And we survived it. >> Yes, we all did. We survived it. >> And you won MVP two times. >> Twice. >> That's crazy. You did. That that bum. couldn't stop it the second time. You. know what I mean? >> Arouch. >> Bum arush. Hey, [laughter].
>> we appreciate the hell out of you. I am. so pumped to see how you play football. this year. >> I told you I was going to bring it. >> And you did. And I can't wait to see. what you do on the football field. >> I can't wait to see who ESPN tries to. get me to do a sit down with. >> for what? >> Oh, it's just so much fun just turning. them down every time. [laughter]. >> No, the one time I sent him a list of. like 10 people I want, this was years. ago. So, I had I still get great laughs. about this. I sent him a list of 10. people, their whole roster, me and the I.
won't say who it was, but we we went. through the whole roster at ESPN and 10. people that I do a sit down with and I. pick like Teddy Atlas, >> the ESPN Deport's golf announcer. >> Face just a big like. >> Yes. >> ESPN Caddy. >> Yeah. Mike Collins. He Mike Collins. would be good. >> Shout out to. Marty McGee would love you. >> Marty McGee. >> Marty McGee. You'd be good with Marty. Smith. >> Yeah. Yeah. There we go. >> Ryan McGee. >> Ryan McGee. >> You got something on that? Did they say. something about co you disagree with? We.
don't know. I [laughter] don't know. >> Marty Smith and the sweet hair. >> Marty. Okay. Good. Okay. >> Well, you didn't [laughter]. name. >> You said Marty McGee. I. >> McGee. >> Ryan McGee. >> They're two southerns. >> One of the four horsemen. >> Two southerns. >> Okay. >> Not in wrestling, but just at his. college. He has three friends. >> Yeah. He probably had a fake batscard. Did he even get? >> No, I don't think so. Don't [laughter]. talk to him about. >> Aaron. We're proud of you. We're. thankful for you. We. >> Great to see you, man. I thought I'd. bring it. If this is my last time, I.
thought I'd bring it. You know. what I mean? >> I don't I said if. >> Okay, sick. >> Just like I said alleged about that. guy's wife. >> Yeah, >> that was good. That was a big word. >> Yeah, Mark. >> One more year. >> No, it won't be one more year. Thank. you, though. We'll make a good. >> Yeah, this is the year. This is the. year. This is the year. >> Can I go now? These guys are. >> Yeah. Ladies and gentlemen, four time. MVP Aaron Rogers. >> Eric, can we get a photo?
>> Aaron, I didn't expect that at all. >> That was awesome. >> I mean, that that had been cooking. I. mean, that had been cooking. I mean, everything, just to be 100% transparent, as I was watching the entire uh. situation unfold, thank you, Aaron. >> That guy was called a murderer a lot.
>> Jeez Louise, >> I mean, jeez louise. >> I love that man. >> I'll tell you what, I thought maybe. there was a chance that he was just. going to let it slide. >> Ladies and gentlemen, DK Mcaffer here. >> Holy I didn't know he's got those. >> Hey, did we know you had those? I didn't. know you had those. >> Yeah, I did not know that, >> Mr. DK. It's an honor,
>> sir. >> Mr. Metaf. >> Yeah, follow that up. >> Very nice to meet you. >> Yes, sir. You as well. >> Good to see you. We're big fans. >> Did you know Footh had those quads and. hamstrings like that? >> Oh, jeez. >> I did not know he had that. You look. like a young stallion, ain't it? >> Yeah. Well, I mean, takes one to no one. there from you, but I did not know you. had two kegs hanging off your hips. there, Footh. >> Yeah. >> We need to have a little bit more. respect. The tailored pants, too. Want. to showcase those quads. I like that.
Get up high and tight in there. Yeah. Okay, Fry Mouth. Let's talk about it. You saved the baby yesterday or today. Thank you, Fry. Thank you for that, Fry. Obviously, you go to Penn State. You're. a Pittsburgh Steeler through and. through. understand everything about. this fan base and this team. Aside from. saving a baby amongst two Yenszers. getting after it with one Yenszer doing. incredible killer commentary, what do. you think about this year versus maybe. years past with new Mike McCarthy in. charge? >> Uh, I think it's been great. Um, coach. McCarthy is really big on situational. football and um practicing those.
situations and um it's been cool to to. be a part of that and it's definitely. been different but it's uh it's been. fun. >> You can't. So, what size pants? It's It's tough cuz my legs aren't that. long, >> but my my quads are so big. So, I have. to get like some special. >> 38. You go 38 30 like 42s just be way. [laughter] too big in the waist. Are you. wearing 30? You're wearing 38 long. >> 38? No, 38 weighs 32 length. But I have. to get a boat. >> Take the waist. >> Yeah, cuz then it's. >> Yeah, I've been there before. Not like.
that though. It doesn't look Hey, DK. You are built like a uh Greek god. Uh we. are very thankful that we get a chance. to see you here in real life. It is real. what you see on the internet with this. thing. Uh it's unbelievable. [laughter]. It's it's unbelievable, dude. You're. It's outrageous how athletic you. are. How does it feel having Aaron. Rogers as your quarterback yet another. year? Because I feel like last year. there were some special moments maybe. just getting started. Does it feel like. it's going to take another step? And why. do you think it'll take another step? >> Yeah, I mean number one from the reasons. that he spoke on earlier, uh we.
definitely got a chance to get to know. each other on a more intimate level. Um. you know, this offseason last year we. were still like teammates. I ain't want. to mess up. He ain't want to mess up. We. were just like not on the same page a. couple times, but it's going to be. special this year. >> So, you're on one horse. >> He was on another one. >> Benny Sco is falling off his horse back. here. >> Pit was on on the one. >> Okay. Cuz he's actual farmer, by the. way. Pitman actual farmer. We will. definitely get into that. The. conversations you're having about life. out there in the middle of Idaho is kind. of what happened. And do you wish you.
guys would have done that maybe earlier? No, I think it happened at the perfect. time right before training camp so we. can all go in with on the same accord. We know we uh what we came to do. Um we. spoke on goals, spoke on family, spoke. on, you know, what we got to get better. at. Spoke on life and That's all I. need to hear from somebody. >> Were you smoking sigs out there? >> No. Huh? >> Were you smoking sigs out there? >> Yeah. It's just a picture, brother. [laughter]. >> I was about to say if you sm. it. AJ has a question. >> Yeah. Moose, I guess for you. We hear. all this talk about uh coach McCarthy's.
level of detail now. What does that. mean? Like what does that mean for you. as an offense? >> Just the the route depth. Um you know, what kind of angle you're taking on your. release? Um what uh leverage you're. attacking. If the defense does certain. thing, what are you going to do to. >> heightened under coach Mike like in his. staff? >> Yeah, it's it's it's uh it's awesome. It's really cool. >> AJ, do you know he had these? >> No. This is actually scary to see how. big your legs are. You guys are both. complete freaks, but like you guys you. guys aren't even humans. >> Yeah. Yeah. This is disgusting. What's.
going on? >> I played I played in the right time. I. couldn't play [laughter] anymore. I. couldn't play this. >> I don't know if I could block you. I. don't think I could block. >> I wouldn't let I would run away from. you. Trust me, I'm not taking you on. Darnell Washington exist as well. >> No, that's like big. You guys are coming. off these dudes. Come on. >> Big team. Everybody Pitman's a giant, too. >> It feels like you guys got studs all. over the place. Most amount of talent. I. mean, your Seattle team's had some. absolute. Feels like you guys got a lot. of talent on this offense. Feel good. going into the year with what's. possible? >> Yes, sir. For sure. >> What are the goals? Hey, we'll be the. best offense in the NFL or we just do.
whatever the hell we got to do to win. >> I mean, whatever we put out there on the. field, I think it's going to be the. best. So, >> great answer. >> Yeah. >> Hey, that was a good answer. Sweet. teeth, too. Are those Is that in your. tooth? >> Yes, sir. >> How So, that's there forever. >> Yeah. >> God, I need one of [laughter] those. I. need one of those. Duds got a question. for you. Recently we uh watched Adam. Thelen I think he was on ESPN or NFL. live I believe talking about kind of the. anxiety. [laughter]. You already know what's coming. The. anxiety comes playing with the. quarterback or playing like Aaron Rogers. specifically with the signals and all.
those type of things. I know that takes. time but now going into year two for. both of you guys with him. How much has. that changed? How much more comfortable. are you now with eight back there. calling signals, you know, pre-play? >> I mean. >> a year under our belt, we know what to. expect. like we know he's going to look. at the defense, give a hard count, you. know, go through his progressions and. everything, but main thing is we we. ready for it now. Last year it was just. like, all right, he may give us. something that's going to line up and. trying to play, but no, it's it's all. eyes on eight right now. >> Gotcha. >> How does it feel with Mike McCarthy in. there? Does it feel different a little.
bit? Uh, how different does it feel with. him? Because there's been some off. offensive coordinator conversation. around Pittsburgh for. since Todd Haley, maybe. >> Since Todd, yeah, >> I' I'd say probably since Todd Haley, there's been convos. How does it feel. with Mike McCarthy leading the team for. our Moose? >> It's uh it's fun. He uh he definitely. him and Aaron are always on the same. page and and seeing eye to eye and it's. uh definitely a lot different offense. than Pittsburgh has seen in the past. which is exciting. >> It's great. >> What does that mean? >> Since seven was here. >> It's going to be good. >> Yeah, since seven was here actually.
>> It's going to be good. Somebody said. back here you [laughter] It's. unbelievable. I don't like that they did. that. Tone has a question. >> Uh one of my favorite things from last. year, probably not your guys' favorite. thing. Aaron would get so visually mad. on the field all the time. But like I. kind of love that because there was a. lot of younger quarterbacks before that, so there wasn't like um. >> a lot of responsibility that was being. taken account for. Like how like do you. take that personally when he's young on. the field or is it just something you go. to sideline and fix really quickly? How's that work? >> I know you want to you want to be. perfect especially for you know somebody.
like that of his caliber, one of the. best to ever play this game. You want to. be perfect out there on the field to. where you know he trusts you to come. back to you again and again and again. again to where you know that like I said. man you you want to be perfect for him. so you can get the ball. >> It did feel like it was directed at 88. quite a bit. >> Most of the time a lot of the time. [laughter]. >> you ain't here for me but I'm joking. >> What year is this for you DK? >> Eight. >> Wow. Old man though. >> Oh hell no. I'm a fried chicken right. now. [laughter].
>> Uh how does body feel? Is there. anything? I mean, we look at you and we. see a specimen. We have since we first. saw you. I mean, the who was it? Pete. Carol took his shirt off, right? Was. that the entire Was that with you? Right. That's how that's how we got. introduced to you on a national level. and it's like, holy hell, what's going. on there now? You're eight years into. it. How much have you changed with what. you do? Are you the same? Are you. lighter, heavier? What where are you. kind of at as a body? Just so we know. what we need to be aiming for for the. human species. >> No, I'm about the same body weight, but. I have changed up my habits. I know. I I.
messed up a lot of kids diets talking. about I eat three bags of candy. >> I remember that. Yeah, >> that was a while ago. I was young, you. know. >> Yeah. Different guy now. >> Yeah, exactly, man. I'm juicing it up. I'm I'm eating two meals a day now and. drink a lot of water. >> Okay. Very Yeah, cuz you can't be doing. candy with those. >> Exactly. Yeah. I can't mess up. Exactly. >> How long have they been in there? [clears throat]. >> Uh I got these in 21 20 or 21. >> Oh, so I've missed it. >> About 5 years. >> Well, it's the first time seeing you in. real life. I just I just want to let you. know if I would have seen you 5 years. ago, my first thing would have been. like, "Holy you got cool in. your teeth.".
>> That's what I would have said. It looks. awesome. >> Appreciate it, >> Mike McCarthy. You going to get him. working out with you, you think? [laughter]. >> God, what is. going. >> I'm talking to you. >> For what? >> That was obviously going He could look. how he was low. He caught him blaze. >> That was a thick sweatshirt he was. wearing today. >> See, I can [laughter] envision. >> he always wore long sleeves even in. Green Bay back in the day. >> He said he's super Irish. the sun, you. know, quite an enemy. So, he says he. kind of keeps himself covered. That's a. good idea. I like what you said. We used. to pour oil on ourselves, you know, be a.
little tanned up now. He said, "Now I. got to do it differently." You guys. paying attention to your colleges? >> Yeah, for sure. >> Hey, how do we feel about Lane, man? The. week three should be a lot of fun. >> Who? >> Oh. Oh, yeah. >> About who? >> I like that. >> Oh, yeah. [laughter]. >> Yeah. >> We don't speak on nobody that ain't. inside the organization. So, >> we're talking about Old Miss. >> Exactly. >> How do we feel about the team? Winnad. might be the best quarterback we've seen. uh in the college ring. What you call. him? Winned. >> Winnad. Okay. Yeah, that's my boy. Yeah, I was down there. Um I was in Oxford.
this offseason, so I got to spend a lot. of time with with a lot of the guys over. there. >> I've never been down there. We're going. down there. It hasn't been announced. We're going to be down there for that. game week three. What should we expect. out of that place? I've heard nothing. but great things. >> What you want, man? Cuz you know that's. my hometown. So, you want food. recommendations? What a play place to. stay? Um. >> I would like to know how I can look like. you. Yes. Give me the [laughter] food. Give me the whole Give me the whole. thing. >> You blame your mom and dad for that. Sally and Tim, they don't deserve that. Well, kind of. I think actually with the. way it all works, I think they are to. blame. Shout out to you guys though. Uh, it's going to be insane though, right?
That place. >> Yes, sir. >> And then Penn State. Come on now. >> Yeah, I'm hoping for the best. Co. >> Hoping for the best. [laughter]. >> I don't know what to expect. >> For the best. >> I don't know what to expect. I don't uh. He brought in a lot of guys from Iowa. State. Uh, great program over there. And, uh, I'm excited. [laughter]. I'm excited excited to see what goes on. >> Yeah. >> I'll tell you, I don't like the way you. Penn Stator operate. We'll ask AQ the. question and then on air you go I got a.
lot of faith and then off camera you go. these guys. >> and I'm like I like that you guys have. to be supportive because it's the way it. is. But you guys have a lot of questions. going into this season. >> A lot of questions. I don't Yeah, I. don't know what to expect. I was up. there this off season uh for a day or. two and it was cool. They got a lot of. uh new guys, new faces. This is probably. the first offseason I knew no one in the. locker room. >> Is Pat Craft hitting you up for money? >> No. No. >> Not yet. Not yet. >> I don't know how much you wanted to win. I know you're you're certainly paying. for that Old Miss football team.
>> Hold on. My bad. What? You said pay and. I was like, [laughter] "Hey, what the hell no? [laughter]. >> Okay. Uh, we appreciate you joining us. We appreciate what you're doing for the. Steelers." Foo, thank you for. representing Pennsylvania for so damn. long. Yes, sir. >> I like that you're built like that and. representing this state. I do. I I. certainly love that. >> Got married this summer. >> Who? >> I did. I did. >> Congratulations. >> Shout out the wife. Shout out the wife. >> That's smart. That's really smart what. you just did there. >> You guys do you enjoy camp away? What.
did you guys do in Seattle? Did you come. up to like this? >> It was uh at the facility in Seattle. But yeah, this is different. I enjoy it. Yes, sir. >> Yeah. Have you gone to the ice? Do you. eat ice cream? >> Yeah. [laughter]. >> When did I eat ice cream? When have you. seen me eat ice cream? >> I know. >> I know your teammates better than you. It was homemade in Idaho, bro. >> Oh, so you did. >> it homemade. It was like they were. milking the cow in front of us or some. [laughter]. >> Who had the best vibes out there? Who. like carried the party? Or maybe it. wasn't a party. Who had the best vibes.
out in Idaho? >> Skull. >> Skull. Yeah. >> Skull. Big guy. >> He wasn't posted in Michael Pitman's. photo dump Instagram. So, we thought. maybe there was a little drama, you. know, cuz Skull was not. >> Yeah, he was pissed in any of the. photos. Pitman. >> Yeah. They put out like a hell of a. summer IG post and Benny Scott. >> was not a part of it. You were in there. obviously. You were as well. >> Yeah. >> Benny SC. >> Scott definitely would get mad at that. too. >> He [laughter] would He would get mad at. that. >> You guys have a great locker room. It. feels like right. >> Great locker room. >> You guys like each other? >> Yeah. >> Yeah.
>> You're the man. Good luck, boys. Ladies. and gentlemen, >> that's outrageous, dude.
>> I like that. See, boy. Man, what the hell's going on with his. legs? >> Did we know that about Frier Moose's. legs? >> Yes. >> I didn't know you were over here, brother. >> Good to see you, dude. >> Michael Pitman Jr., ladies and. gentlemen. >> I had no idea he was here. >> Great to see you, P. Snuck in there. >> Unbelievable. >> All right. Is a seat for me? >> Yes, it absolutely is. If you're here. on. >> Oh, this is live right now.
>> Yeah. Oh, heck yeah. Let's go. [laughter]. >> Right in it. >> Yes, sir. >> Hey, man. What do you think about. >> I am so bummed, dude. I am so bummed. that you're a Pittsburgh Steeler. I I. don't know if you saw the live reaction. of us. I don't know how on the internet. you are. When I learned that you were. gone, I was I'd say devastated. I was. absolutely devastated because I know. that you would actually die on a. football field for your team. You've. done that for the Colts multiple times. You were already hurt. You tried to.
break your back in between two guys and. when we were already out of the. playoffs, you were everything good about. a football culture, I believe, from what. we've seen in Indianapolis. So, you. coming to Pittsburgh, I hated. it. But now, obviously, I'm very happy. for you and I'm happy for the Steelers. as a whole. How has it been as a Steeler. and when you learn you're going to be. moving on from the Colts, what is that. like? Cuz we will miss you and we. appreciate what you did for. Indianapolis. >> Yep. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, I mean. like it was definitely a tough. situation, but I think that it was time,
right? Um and when it started to uh. happen and I didn't know, hey, like is. it going to be here, here, or here? Like. I just felt like the um Steelers like. was like the best spot um because of. Aaron, because of um coach Mike and just. like their like passing style and just. knowing that, hey, we have um DK, we. have Pat, we got Darnell, and we got a. bunch of. >> like weapons and just like being able to. just jump in and just.
>> get going. So, um, everything's like. been good. You know, family's here. I, uh, got a house. I'm actually selling my. house in, uh, >> uh, Indie. So, if anybody wants a farm, is it? >> If anybody wants 40 acres. >> Jeez. >> Call me up. >> What part of the town? >> I say Zville. >> Okay. So, you got 40 acres in Zansville. >> Yep. Yep. >> Let's hang on to that. You never know. when you're coming back to the Colts. >> Okay. All right. All right. You never. know when you're coming back to the. Colts. Uh, you talked about all those. things with the Pittsburgh Steelers and. the offense. DK Metaf getting paid the.
amount of money that he got paid for. never playing for the Pittsburgh. Steelers at the wide receiver position. Very abnormal. You getting paid the. amount of money that you've gotten paid. without being a Pittsburgh Steeler. follow suit, very abnormal. Whenever you. talk to Khan and we talked to McCarthy, it's very evident that a Super Bowl is. what we're here for. And obviously. that's the entire goal. And on the. offensive side, what should expectations. be? You think? >> Absolutely. I mean, I think that anytime. that you have a um basically like a a um. quarterback who is the caliber of uh. Aaron, I think that's always, you know,
the uh goal and I think that's what he's. thinking and that's really why I came. here. Uh Steelers haven't had a losing. record in I don't know how long, as long. as I can 23 years think of. Yeah, 23. years. So, >> now say with confidence. >> Uh so, I'm here for that. I'm trying to. help them take that next step and just. help in any way that I can. >> I hate that you're not [laughter]. >> AJ has a question for you, coach. >> Yeah, I guess you're kind of all on the. same, you know, this is a new team for. you obviously, but this is the new.
coaching staff that came in here. So, you're all kind of on the same level. playing field, all trying to prove. yourself to this new coaching staff, I. guess. What is that like? I think that. can kind of energize the team as well. and make everybody, some guys that maybe. have been comfortable all of a sudden. realize, hey, I can't be comfortable. anymore. I got to reprove myself again. >> Absolutely. Yeah. I mean, just cuz this. like coaching staff, I mean, nobody. knows. I mean, pe I mean, like guys know. like reps and hey, like this guy has. done this, but you know, like you got to. prove it um every single year and and.
like I guess the guys who have been. comfortable here. I mean, I'm definitely. not comfortable cuz I have to learn a. new playbook. I got to learn all of. Aaron's signs and signals and. everything. So, I'm just trying to get. it all in and um have fun. >> What's that been like trying to learn. all that so far? I heard you got to have. a big brain. >> Yeah, it's got to be like it just has to. be second nature. I can imagine coming. at the line of scrimmage if you're not. sure. How's that work? >> Why don't you say something terrible. about your quarterback right now? >> No. I mean, [laughter] no, no, I mean. like it's like definitely fun. >> Um, there you go.
>> Um, Aaron, I let's just say I thought. that I knew football and [laughter] then. I met Aaron and then I realized that I. have a lot more football to learn. So, so I'll say it like that. a lot of. homework studying. Is that what we're. doing? >> Yeah. Yeah. But I mean like you study. whether you're a seven-year vet or a. first year rook. So. >> yeah. And I think Aaron treats everybody. the exact same and he would hope for the. same the other way. Go ahead, Tone. >> Yeah. Pat, we just had obviously Pat and. DK up here and we talked about Darnell.
and then there's you as between the. tight end room and the wide receiver. room. We talked about like in high. school you had the biggest baddest guys. get off the bus first. Where do you. think you what in what order do you. think you would get off the bus? >> That's a good question. I mean, if we're. going in like weight category, it's. probably got to be Darnell Pat. And then. depending on the day, it could be me or. DK. Um, uh, but yeah. >> What are you? What are your dims? >> Huh? >> Your dims. >> Dims. What dimensions? Height, weight? >> Oh. Oh. Uh, 6'4 right now. I'm I'm.
floating between. 225 to 230. >> Oh, so you're the same as DK. You look. the exact same as DK. >> You guys are absolute giants. >> Yeah. Yeah. But DK's a little more cut. up than me, you know. You know, like. DK's kind of a specimen like some would. say. >> Yeah, we said that to his face a couple. times and he I think he took it as a. compliment and then I said uh we go to. MCreacher and then I took it one step. further and I said this thing, you know, and then he kind of responded there, but. he is I mean it is outrageous what he. has built like you too, but I can't.
believe the Steelers have all of you. Ty. has a question for you, Pam. >> Yeah, listen. know you've probably. played in shitty weather games before. obviously because you've been in the NFL. but you're a USC guy you know and the. division you used to be in you got two. domes and then you got pretty decent. weather in Tennessee most of the year in. Jacksonville you're coming up here and. listen you're going to be you're going. to be playing in some dog weather. cold rainy snowy have you thought about. that at all and how that might you know. kind of change your I mean like Pat said. you're willing to die on the field we. know what kind of style of play you have.
but have you thought about that at all. that just like the conditions on game. day are going to be much different in. this division than they were in the AFC. South. >> Yeah. Um I actually think that some of. my best games have like come in like. monsoon cold. >> Um and I just have that like mindset. that I just want to be out there more. than he wants to be out there. And then. that's kind of what I tell myself. >> Yeah, that's kind of Aaron's thing with. Green Bay. Embrace the suck. You know, AAR is going to be wild.
Cleveland Browns are working their ass. off, right? >> They look good. >> Cincinnati Bengals going to punch you in. the mouth. They're punching each other. in the face right now. I could They. can't wait to punch you in the face. >> I saw that. I did. >> That was cool. I like that. I like a. little bit of action that entire And. then the Baltimore Ravens looks like I. get twisted. They're going to want to. kill you. >> Yeah. Um I seen that uh Derek Henry or. uh Yeah, Derek like was throwing those. those like little. >> sandbags at people. Yeah. Yeah. >> Crazy stuff. >> Any fights here yet? Yes, there.
>> just in the crowd. >> Yes. Yep. Just in the crowd. And uh. shout out Pat for uh saving the kid. >> Yeah. On hero. >> Yep. >> Shout out Pat Mo, baby. >> I'm going be honest. I can't believe he. can get around. >> Yeah. >> With those legs. >> Yeah, >> those things are outrageous. Everybody. talks about Saquon's thighs and. Fernuth with those little daisy dukes. >> I mean, look. >> They might have been doing the same. workouts. >> They might have been. That was obnoxious. what those things were. I mean I mean. you got to get those checks. >> He did get them personalized so he shows.
them off. >> Yeah, of course he him wearing jeans. I. couldn't even imagine the amount of just. the. >> Deb has the last question for you here. >> Yeah. [laughter] Going going to this. point in your career. DK kind of talked. about changing his diet, how he ruined a. bunch of kids diet, talking about three. bags of candy. But you uh being a. farmer, I assume you live off the land a. little more, but how have you changed. with your body in the off season going. into this season? And have you found any. farmland out here yet? Yeah, good. question. >> Yeah, so I have looked at uh farmland.
and there's nothing yet, but you know, coming down cuz I have I have about 16. head of cattle now that um I have a. friend that's like taking care of them. now. >> Um and then back to the um diet question. is I just stopped eating as much carbs. Um I try to cut out um any type of like. dessert and um stuff like that. just. really focus on drinking um water and if. it's something that's not water, it's. like some type of hydration drink um.
with like electrolytes and stuff like. that. So, >> you need to talk to Brett Kasel. He's. got a farm around here somewhere. He's. got cattle on it. >> Why don't you go buy some land and plum? >> I don't even know where that's at. >> Well, learn. [laughter]. >> Okay. All right. Jeez Louise. Okay. Do a. have a little respect for the Mustangs. Okay. This entire city is going to love. you, man. The whole state, the entire. Steelers Nation is going to love you. We. were very lucky to watch you play with. Indianapolis. We are very thankful for. you, man. Honestly, [cheering]. we tried to find the clip of me just.
being so bummed out live on air whenever. I found it. Cuz you said it's you felt. like it was time was over. >> Yeah. >> I didn't know that. >> Yeah. >> I had no idea. I was super bummed. >> You're ready for DJ round two. >> Oh my god. Pit man. >> DJ's a beast. >> Okay. >> DJ's a beast. And. >> go ahead. and and he is probably one of. the toughest guys I've ever been around. Um works super hard and I can't say. enough good things about him. Sweet. >> Um yes,
>> I like to hear that. >> But when but Oh, >> when we play him like we're like not. friends, but after that like we're. friends again. >> Okay. I respect and I'm going to let you. know that when you play against the. Indianapolis Colts, >> you win. >> You win. Yeah, that is how it works. No, no. It's a battle. Okay. It's an. absolute battle. We will definitely. Where's that game at? Do we play you. guys where here. >> week six? >> I was about saying Indie, I think you. would have got a nice on the way in. >> You'll get one here, too. Don't worry.
>> Yeah, we'll see. >> We'll see. No, Indie loves you. regardless. These people, >> these people. >> Yes, sir. >> You're going to have to do appreciate. you guys. >> No. Yeah, we'll see. Okay. Just know. whenever they get mad at you. >> Yeah. >> We love you in Indie. [laughter]. >> Just know that. Okay. This is not. tampering. I don't make any decisions, but we'd love to have you back in. Indianapolis. I know your first season. as a Steeler hasn't started yet. We. would love to get you back in Indie and. you're Grand Park right now. Could you. imagine? Oh, so much fun. >> All right. And good luck with the.
Steelers. You're here, man. Ladies and. gentlemen, Michael P. [applause]. >> Thank you guys. I appreciate you guys. >> Thank you, buddy. >> Good luck. Yeah, there's a legend. See you, Pit. >> Thanks, Pit. >> All right, Pit. Hey, Pit. Have you ever. had a smiley cookie? >> Oh, of course. >> He can't. He doesn't eat sweets. >> Oh, no. It's a sweet. It's a sweet.
>> Okay, he's coming back. >> He's taking it for his family. >> Hey, can I just tell you? >> This from eating park. >> They are famous, but they're So, don't. >> Oh, no. These are good. Just like those. sandwiches we had in the draft. >> So enjoy that. Enjoy that. Enjoy that. Enjoy that. That doesn't come out till. August 17th. Don't tell anybody. >> If you're from Pittsburgh, you know the. Eden Park cookie is very, very famous. But it tastes like dog. >> I will say this. Cheyenne's Latro Eaten. Park is not cardboardy. These ones are. fresh. Fresh. Very fresh. >> Thank you. Dumpy was looking up at the.
cookie and he was saying, "Hey, >> you don't always get the fresh one.". >> After I sun smiley, I have one. >> No, you didn't sun smiley. Smiley was. about to smack you right in the mouth. Now, if you want to go to Oakmont. Bakery, has a different story. >> Couldn't get in. >> Couldn't get into Oakmont Bakery last. time I was in town. They told me to. leave. >> It's very crowded. >> About 20 minutes left. They were closing. up. >> It's unbelievable place. Oakmont Bakery. is the spot, though. >> 20 minutes left, though. >> Well, I think they had a line, so it's. kind of cut off. >> Well, >> at the end of the night, they had a. line. That's what Oakan Bakery is.
>> We need to go back. Maybe we go to see a. pit. Remember, Indianapolis want will. always want you if these people boo you. out of here. Wow. >> Just [laughter] you. >> Yes. Joining us now, ladies and. gentlemen, is our Pittsburgh Steelers. correspondent, uh, man who is obviously. on the beat on X. You need to read it. because if you don't, you don't know. what's going on. He's standing near the. Porter John. And now he'll be making his. way right up here. Ladies and gentlemen,
>> just clue. >> camera on that. >> It was just clue walk. >> Ladies and gentlemen, Mark. [applause] DK. [cheering]. >> Hell yeah. >> Thank you, Kab. >> Good to see you, pal. All right. >> Thank you, sir. >> Good to see you guys. >> Appreciate to see you, brother. >> Good to see you, guys. A little. different build than. >> Marcus. Good to see you. >> How you doing? >> Little different build than moot. A. >> little bit. Did you put your SummerSlam report out. yet, Kabaldi?
>> I listen to the preview. Actually, >> you should have that on your left side. There you go. There you go. Yeah, >> I'm an expert now. How'd you do, dude? >> Are you really? Hey, how'd you do? How. uh. >> first of all, I hope you wrote good. about Summerslam. I think it was a good. show. >> Well, it was a great show. >> You said you're an expert now. The right. side's nowhere near your ear, but I like. you. [laughter]. >> That' be the left side. >> The uh. >> Thanks. [laughter]. >> I can't help. Do you want me to help you. get that right one on your ear there? >> No. You know, I'm a one ear guy. >> Oh, he's like he's like a drummer. I'm a.
one ear guy. DJ. Yeah. Okay. My bad. >> He wants to hear one ear guy. >> I'm a two- ear guy right now. Okay. >> Yeah, we understand. Hey, listen DJ, take that thing out. We need to hear. what the response is for you. Kaboli, it's big pops. Um, we'll speak about the. SummerSlam pops later. Can you tell me. about the Steelers this year versus last. year? You were one of the ones that were. reporting about, hey, it feels. different. It seems different. It looks. different. What is the difference that. you're seeing feeling? And uh how do you. think it ends up working out for the. Steelers? >> Well, the whole thing is different. I. mean, from the way they practice to the. way they prepare. Mike McCarthy and his.
way he just runs practice has just been. different. I mean, it's speed, pace, quickness, everything that you didn't. see. [laughter]. >> Everything that we've not really seen. for uh. >> 20 years right now. Now, I'm watching my. weight. >> Nice. >> I like that. You do look good. >> Although, they're looking pretty good. >> Thank you. Yeah, they're pretty soft, but everything's different. Just feels. different. >> Yeah, it's it's just a different vibe. It's just I mean it's it's it's what is. expected to be. You have a coach who's.
been around for 20 years and you got a. guy who's experienced coming in like. McCarthy has his own way of doing things. and it's very noticeable out there what. he's done. And Mike McCarthy has been. extremely impressive and impressive. >> What did you think? You think he was not. going to be maybe? Did you think coming. in, oh, they hired an old sack? Oh, this. guy, he's a yinszer. Why would we hire. the same guy as Tomlin? Is that natural. instincts like Moi Moers? >> I think a lot of people in the city. thought that right away, but then he had.
>> Wait, wait, maybe a little bit. But. >> the opening press conference, he just. knocked it out of the ballpark. >> Half of the people probably turned, if. not more than half the people turned to. being Mike McCarthy. I like this guy. He's more than just a dumb yenzer, right? Yeah. >> He knows the ball. Then you get to know. him more. You you hang out with him at. the owner's meeting, the combine. you. hear him talk and you're like, "This guy. is very bright offensively." And I think. that's what a lot of people are really. excited about. You got the offensive. mind here. The first time maybe ever.
And it's it's just a different vibe. here. And it's McCarthy is very. impressive. He's very cerebral. He knows. exactly what he's doing at every moment. Everything's to the second. The first. practice, and I mentioned this to him, ended at 12:46 on on the on the sheet, right? 11:30 to 12:46, something like. that. I'm like, Mike, are you really. going to hit 12:46? That exactly went. over by 3 seconds. >> Well, he's got 105 minutes. You know,
he's got an entire practice. He's got to. put 105. Planning for 102 minutes. So, got 105 minutes in here because the new. rules. Now, he Now, all these coaches, modern coaches, complain about these new. rules and lack of time. It's because of. what they used to do. Yeah. >> We had to remind it to him. Hey, 15 days. or two a days is what led us to this. particular point, but developing a team. is a big deal. Feels like McCarthy would. like to do that. The way he goes about. doing things has been the same. He wins. a lot of football games. Do you think. it's good for the Steelers at this exact. time, the way McCarthy operates? >> Yes, absolutely. You know, I was.
>> a lot of old guys on the team. Cam. Awards said that they clap it up at the. beginning of every meeting and he said. it took him a little bit to get on board. with it, but there is a lot of older. dogs here. Brand new tricks coming in. with McCarthy. thoughts on that? >> Yeah, but there's still probably. threequarters of the team that all they. know is Tomlin for a year or two. It. wasn't like he a lot of his teams turned. over over the past couple of years, but. you have to get the old old farts on. board, right? You have to get the. Haywards, the Watts, those guys. Aaron's. always been on board with him. They get. him on board like that, then it just.
trickles down to it, the rest of the. team. But I wasn't a big fan of just. needing a change for a sense of change. until the change came. Mhm. >> The change came, then you're like, "Oh, this is what they needed." So, >> yeah, you're feeling that right now. Feels like everybody Ty has a question. for you, Kabol. >> Yeah, Kaboli. Um, listen, I I would ask. you a Steelers question, but there's one. thing on my mind, and it's it's. SummerSlam. Uh, you know, because we. went through, we made our picks on. Friday for the twoight event. Looking. back on it, I think you said something.
about how Rollins and uh Reigns was. maybe the greatest main event of all. time. It is. >> Does that say toilet in there? >> Yeah. And and I'll tell you what I did. I went and took a huge during Finn. Baylor and Sami Zayn and KO. And. >> but. >> what's wrong with KO? >> No, nothing. I I didn't know he was. going to but you know the card the way. with Sammy. >> Yeah, I said I'm going to go take a. dump. Uh give me just kind of a quick. takeaway here. Summerslam. Um is was.
this the greatest PL of all time? The. greatest one you've covered? Um kind of. walk me through this. How should I be. thinking about this coming from one of. the formost voices in the WWE? >> It was a very solid program from start. to finish. >> I like that. >> And it was really good week too and I. and I or day two. What I really liked. was Roman Reigns and we know that you. have a relationship with him on the. show. But. >> do you talk about this relationship that. the whole world has with him? Thank you. Yeah. >> I mentioned something on on the Twitter. machine yesterday about him being maybe.
part of the Mount Rushmore of WWE. wrestlers. If he's not there, he's darn. close. And he showed last night. >> extremely. >> Who else is up there? Who's he who's he. going on Mount Rushmore with? >> Stone Cold. >> Oh, yeah. Stone Cold. >> I am a holster, dude. >> Rick Flair. >> That's the That's the tough part.
