The Pat McAfee Show Live From Philadelphia | Monday October 26th 2026
USA. USA. USA.
Ted. up a feel. Heat.
Heat. The following program is a collection of. stooges talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic,
informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans is the real. world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further. >> Hey, what. >> this show stinks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for.
>> McAfee on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers, you can. Damn it. >> Your friend, tell a friend something. nice could change their life. >> Hello, beautiful people and welcome to. another magnificent, magical. overreaction Monday, October 26, 2026. This sports program begins right now.
FOOTBALL. >> TODAY IS THE GREATEST, WHICH is why I'm. in this suite here at the link. And uh. Monday Night Football will wrap up a. magical NFL slate that had the weekend a. buzz as the Cowboys travel here to. Philadelphia. These two franchises, one. and seven since week two. Not certainly. a great run by any means. Dak has four. picks in the last two games. The boys. that they have outside for weapons. haven't been able to eat that much. On. the other side, Tanner McKe is looking.
to step into a place that nobody would. want to do, which is Philadelphia Eagles. team that has certainly had a lot of. question marks and transitions as the. day rolls on. Now, the Jaylen Herz blood. clot story is only beginning to really. heat up about the investigation and how. the whole process went. Watching local. news here last night, they did an entire. breakdown of like, hey, what the hell. happened here? This guy's Super Bowl. MVP. That story line will continue to. build until there is a full. investigation. and everybody releases. every decision that was made. All of our.
thoughts and prayers are still with. Jaylen Herz as he hopefully comes back. fully healthy in the end. But for now, the Philadelphia Eagles, they have to. play a season. Coach Serriani has to. rally the boys. They have to get. something done. Or will the Dallas. Cowboys find a game that can get them. back on track to be everything that we. thought they were going to be in the. offseason, which is maybe a Super Bowl. contending team? The NFC East has become. the NFC lease unless you see the Giants. with JJ McCarthy. It's a crazy time for. the NFL and we're going to cover it all.
Also, college football had a magnificent. weekend. A lot of game-winning kicks and. then you go to the Sunday slate. It. started in Paris. It ended in Seattle. Exhilaration galore. Life is good for a. football fan. It's not just me chit. chatting today. I'm very lucky to do it. We also have Gumpy sitting up here in. this suite. Gumpy, how you doing over. there, pal? Looks like you're in uh in a. perfect spot to watch a little football. Maybe a little pond hockey over the. shoulder as well, pal. Yeah, a little. fly eagles fly in the broadcast booth. here. Beautiful overreaction Monday, everybody. >> We would like to say thank you to.
everybody that set this up. We'd like to. say thank you to the Philadelphia Eagles. organization. We assume big bomb had to. sign off on this. So, obviously, Gratzi. Paison, it's not just us here at the. link. The boys are back in the. Thunderdome. Let's go to college. football national champion, Super Bowl. champion, Ryder Cup winner, AJ Hawk. What up, Hawk? >> I like Gum's little uh situation up. there while he's facing kind of away. from the camera. It looks perfect. >> Yeah. Yeah, him. It's a little tight in. here, you know. It's a little tight. here. We got program feed. If if I want. to look at you, you're down over here. Okay, you're down over here.
Everything's kind of in there. Got some. cameras wedged in here. The the setup. crew for uh ESPN did a great job putting. us in here. We're very grateful. It's a. little tight. It's Philadelphia, big. time city. You know, a lot of history. here. I was uh the room I was in was. overlooking the Philadelphia capital uh. downtown. It is the tallest building in. the world without any steel structure in. it, strictly done by masonry. 1901 has a. William Penn statue on top of it. And. I'll tell you, you start thinking about. the history of Philadelphia and. everything that's happened here, let. alone Rocky and Sylvester Stallone. But.
this was the nation's first capital. I'll have you remember that Liberty Bell. was cracking for some reason. Now, when. tonight happens, maybe they give more. history. Maybe this is when Tanner McKe. becomes a franchise quarterback. Maybe. this is when the Philadelphia Eagles and. Nick Serriani continue to do what. they've always done here, which is win. games other than this year and the end. of a couple last year. Goddard is back. AJ, your thoughts on the Philadelphia. Eagles where they are right now and it's. almost like not great to have to host a. Monday night football game when your. team is potentially in a bit of shambles.
because all eyes are now focused. directly on them. Not that they weren't. in the past, but now all eyes are. learning. Philadelphia Eagles, a little. bit of a slide, obviously a lot going. on. Dallas Cowboys, a little bit of a. slide, always a lot going on. Now we're. focusing on it all day. AJ, your. thoughts on who can maybe turn their. season around or what's a win tonight. for both these teams? Man, I think it's. an awesome like situation now where both. teams are at leading up to this. Especially like you said, we have all. day to talk about it. Everyone like. everyone is going to be watching tonight. because we know like let's say Philly. comes out and they go three and out for.
two series in a row and they fall behind. two scores. This place is going to be. it's going to be wild what those fans. are going to do. And on the flip side. though, if Philadelphia comes out and. they get out to a hot start, I think. those fans will get behind them and try. to uh you know encourage them and to. find a way to get a win. But both teams. a very pivotal game. Both teams. obviously need a win, but I think being. at home for Philly, more is kind of on. the line for them tonight. >> Yeah, here's some ESPN insights on good. for Philly, not great for Dallas. Uh. Shotti is uh the Cowboys 17 and one in.
prime time now. They have a lot of prime. time games, so we're seeing a lot of. this loss uh for Shotti. He's getting. questioned for a lot of things. They. haven't scored a lot of points. Uh Jerry. Jones has invested a lot of energy and. capital into, you know, building this. roster out on the offensive side. Haven't really seen it. He's lost some. games. He's getting questioned all over. the place. And the Eagles, they're just. looking to avoid losing five straight. weeks 11 to 15 in 2006. It is a crazy. time for both these franchises and.
obviously we had hopes for both of them. Speaking of crazy, football was awesome. this weekend. Let's go to the toxic. table at Boston Connor and at Ty. Schmidt. Con man, what a weekend of. ball, brother. I I mean ball is. delivering college spectacular. We had a. couple game-winning kicks, had a couple. misses, and then Sunday follows up from. Paris to Seattle. Ball's throwing. absolute heat right now, Con man. >> Yeah, and for the most part, there. hasn't been too much drama going on with. the ball itself. You know, it feels like. every single weekend there is a game or. two that kind of you would think get.
ruined by referees. Feel like that. didn't happen as a whole. The one main. one I think would be the Lions Packers. everyone was really talking about which. did have a couple questionable calls. especially when Tom Brady's even in the. booth saying like hey what are we doing. here but I mean it's just great top to. bottom going from you know Saturday game. day which was uh experience you could. say and then going to you know miss. Texas on Saturday night then all the. games Paris seemingly uh went over. smoothly not so sure but yeah football.
swinging a hot hot bat expecting the. same thing tonight. >> Yeah. And today's a sports equinox. Okay. So, we got all the sports. participating in today. Shout out to. this overreaction Monday. We got NFL. Monday Night Football. We got MLB World. Series. We got WNBA finals, right? >> What? >> We're NHL's playing. Uh I think they. figured it out. Holly Row pitched uh. Mercedes-Benz Stadium. >> Good idea. >> And it should be available. If it was. available, it'd be cool to see that. I.
think building up the court and. everything on the field with the seats. takes a little bit because Indianapolis. does it a lot. But I I that was crazy. that they were trying to find a place. for them to play. But shout out to. sports here today. >> Oh yeah. >> Sports go sports. >> Shout out to sports doing it. We'll. continue to get a chance to enjoy it. all. Let's go to one half of the hammer. Cowboys AP Tone. Tone, what are the. trends coming out of week seven NFL. Sunday? So the favorites were seven and. six this weekend uh for NFL and then the. over was eight and five. Um and then as.
far as you know looking at everything. you know a couple big dogs one the. Giants one is 10point dogs which is. absurd. Teams that are getting there are. teams that are um heavy favorites this. year. Six plus points have been just. horrendous against the spread. So it's. it's kind of that thing where we talk. about we don't know what's going to. happen ever and teams that are favored. by a ton have been terrible this year in. that situation. And so it's more of the. same where it's like, hey, you know, you. think we you think you know what you. think you know, and you don't. And the. NFL proves that every single Sunday as.
far as gambling is concerned as well. >> Yeah. I like that we don't know a damn. thing. Agree. You know, I hate it. I put. in some. >> I thought they looked tasty. You know, I. thought they look Kenneth Walker, he's. definitely going to score a touchdown in. his return to Seattle. No questions. asked. Kansas City Chiefs are going to. force Kenneth Walker to get in the paint. because they want to remind Seattle of. what they don't have. Instead, it's the. complete opposite. Last night, what a. showcase of the Seattle Seahawks team. They had what, a 100 running backs all.
going crazy. And then on the defensive. side, all I watched was Patrick Mahomes. sitting on a sideline. They were absurd. with how they performed. They have a. nickname. I I think I heard Rex Ryan. yesterday on the pregame show say uh. anytime you're playing a defense that. has a nickname, you're probably going to. be in for it. Let's go to nine-year NFL. vet, one of the greatest uh minds in the. history of defense, especially on. television. Darius J. Butler, Debb uh I. think that's a good statement. Like if.
uh you had Legion of Boom, you had Steel. Curtain. Uh I think there's a couple. others in the past. Um, no fly zone. The. Denver Broncos defense they won a Super. Bowl 15. >> Yeah, >> I think that was a hilarious line, but. it's very real in the Seattle Seahawks. last night put on another show. defensively that obviously Mike. McDonald, their head coach, is an. incredible leader. We forget that he's a. defensive mastermind, but what did we. see from the Seattle Seahawks defense. that made you go hold the phone, they. might have another Super Bowl title in.
them? >> I mean, they just do everything right. And AJ knows this as well. Whenever. you're talking about defense, it starts. with setting the edge. So setting the. edge in the run game, setting the edge. in the pass game, keeping kind of a. quarterback in that box. And then the. other thing they do well is swarm and. fly to the ball. The critical downs, the. money downs, three for 11. So you talk. about Patrick Mahomes being on the. sideline. A lot of that has to do with. the complimentary football of the. offense. I think Brian Flurry is an OC. He called a great game. JSN went off. like he always does. Start starts with. stopping that run as well. Kenneth. Walker 14 carries for 36 yards. Came.
into this game averaging I think over a. buck 30. This Seattle defense hasn't. given up a hundred yard rush in 36. consecutive games, which is incredible. So, they hunt, man. They play well. They. got each other's back on all levels. And. I just love I just love the attitude. they play with. So, yeah, they've earned. this nickname. I believe it's the dark. side is what it's called. So, yeah, they. fly around. These jerseys is absolutely. beautiful. But yeah, they made this the. worst. I know I've seen Patrick Mahomes. look at least in a regular season game. I know he had the bad game against the. Eagles in the Super Bowl, but for him.
not to have a snap in the red zone, like. Patrick Mahomes, the greatest. quarterback of his generation, to not. even get into the red zone and have a. snap, it was unbelievable. So, hats off. to this defense. And yeah, absolutely. This defense can carry this team to. another Super Bowl. >> And they're not the only one. We'll. definitely dive into that. There's a. defense of Minnesota doing its thing as. well with Flores. NFL researcher account. says the Seahawks held the Chiefs to. their fewest points, three tied. Total. yards 213 first downs only 11 and zero. red zone drives. Obviously the internet.
is talking about that now in any game. started by Patrick Mahomes. Wow. What a. performance. Especially with what we've. been talking about with this particular. offense reminding us of the glory days. of the Patrick Mahomes Showtime offenses. because Kenneth Walker could beat down a. defense. You have to have a light box or. a heavy box. Whenever you have a heavy. box, everybody else can kind of eat. around it. So, with what they were able. to do, with what was being talked about. and who was showing up, I love the way. McDonald's got the boys eating out. there. Now, on the flip side, they were.
able to run The Rock, too. Which goes to. our top five headlines. AJ Hawk, I don't. know if you know this, but back in the. NFC North when you were playing, you had. to have that gigantic head cuz you were. running in running backs. You're running. backs. Let's start our top five. Top. five, top five headlines driven by Ram. If you want a truck that can pull. anything and get you to where you need. to be comfortably and have all the. luxuries and grit that you could ever. imagine, you get yourself a Ram truck. Now, top five headlines of the NFL. Sunday. Let's start with number five.
Hey, the pound the rock era continues. >> Mhm. >> Seahawks did it. They outrushed the. Chiefs by 100 yards. Rams outrush by 99. Oh, sorry. These are leading rushers. Let's get to the Can you get to the. amount of yards, please? Can you get to. the amount of yards that that were. separated? I think that's a much more. important stat here. Uh the stat that. teams are out rushing other teams by. like a 100 plus yards now. They're. winning the games. Buccaneers lead by. plus 170 rush yards. Rams 151 more rush. yards. Steelers 130 more rush yards.
Giants 104 more rush yards. We saw. Singleary take that thing in after the. long scaboo run in the overtime. I can't. believe the Texans defense is allowing. that to happen at this stage. Seahawks. 103 more rush yards. And then the Lions. a measly 59 more yards than the Green. Bay Packers. That's six first downs. That's who knows how much time off the. clock. The run game is continuing to. dominate the formations, the 13. personnel, the power players. Not only. you keeping the like Seattle Seahawks, they were running the ball. So they kept. Patrick Mahomes off the field, then.
Patrick Mahomes get on the field and. that defense would kill them. It's like. the pound the rock era is real, AJ. We. saw glimpses of it uh in the first. couple weeks. We didn't know if it was. going to remain, but it has been proven. now week in week out, if you can move. the ball on the ground, you're going to. win these games, AJ. And if you can't, you're dunzo. Steelers outrush the. Saints by however many it was. At one. point, there was a graphic on the screen. and it was like the Saints had 16 yards. rushing and the Steelers had like 200. something. It's like such an indicator.
of 2026 football if you can run the. ball. Running back's more important now. than they have been in what, decades, AJ? Is that what it feels like? I would. say almost two decades. Yeah. Because I. think that's something that we kind of. had complained about in the past with. football becoming smaller guys. Hey, basketball on grass as they say, spread. them out, get guys in space, which they. definitely still do. You obviously want. to get your athletes the ball in space, but when you can consistently run the. ball, like it is uh it's heartbreaking. for a defense and a defensive. coordinator. If you can, let's say you.
get a couple a couple stops early and. then all of a sudden they get a third. and eight, you're like, "Okay, here we. go. let's heat them up or they run a. little draw or say they have 13. personnel or something and they get 12. 13 yards on you another first down and. another first down. When they keep doing. that to you, I think it just it does. something not only physically to your. defense, but mentally to your whole team. when another team is able to. consistently run. We watch guys like. Scataboo just breaking tackles left and. right. I thought it was a questionable. penalty. No question, no no doubt on him. for lowering his head. Maybe he's just a. little bit lower than every other.
defender. Uh I I kind of have a problem. with this call. I'm sure we will get. into that, but it was absolutely nasty. I'm glad I'm not the guy trying to bring. him down. That's for sure. >> Yeah. And Scataboo says afterwards, you. know, the NFL wants to promote the way I. play in the runs that I have and then. they're going to give me a flag for it. and probably find me for it. It is. against the rules what he did. Crown of. his head through somebody's sternum. It's usually called on the defense. A. lot of defenders normally say, "Well, why isn't it called on an offense?" And. then as soon as it gets called, everybody's like, "That's why." Cuz it. looks soft calling it on a guy who has a.
ball. Debbut, your thoughts on DBs gonna. have to be able to tackle for the rest. of the foreseeable future now because. the run game is the game it feels like. in the NFL this year. >> Absolutely. You got to have corners. You. got to have DBs that can show up and. tackle. You saw it last night with the. Seahawks. Like their DBs almost want to. tackle too. It's one thing to be a guy. that can tackle and then it's another. thing to be a willing tackler. like. you're actually getting there filling. gaps because a lot of these offenses, they're going to design their runs so. that so that they leave a free guy and. that's going to be a corner or maybe a. free safety that doesn't typically want.
to get down there and get dirty. But. yeah, like AJ said, if a team can just. line up and run the ball down your. throat, that is absolutely demoralizing. >> We have to wonder what these games are. going to look like in December. We might. have some 97 games, and I'm talking. three field goals and a touchdown. You. just saw the Chiefs not be able to get. into the red zone because the other team. was running the ball so well, so they. didn't have the ball that much. and then. defenses were able to get stops. I think. we're going to have a grimy, gritty end. of the year. The teams that can run and. stop the run are going to be the ones. that are going to go on. Not that that's. ever been different, but it feels like. it's being spotlighted and highlighted.
even more. Now, let's go to number four. headline. This is a big one. It's a big. one. It is for the older generation. It's history making weekend for the old. fern. Congratulations to Aaron Rogers. all the time. Regular season touchdown. passing list. Does it in France? Tone. Diggs. This guy looks young. I put out. his little scamper cuz I felt obligated. to pay my respects to a 42-year-old. He's running all over the place. He's. seemingly happy. He's throwing it all. over the place. He's coming out. afterwards saying, "We should have been. here all week. We should have got to.
experience this. They should do an. international week. You know, the owners. got a little greedy. They wanted 17. games. Could have done 16 with an. international week with an extra by. week. We could have celebrated." He has. thoughts on a lot of things. He wanted. to go out to Paris earlier. I think he's. enjoyed his international games. And the. Pittsburgh Steelers look a lot different. this year than they have in years past. offensively. I'm excited to see what. Aaron can continue to do. He makes. history. Tone, how do the Steelers fans. feel, especially after a big bonjour. morning for the Lads? >> Yeah, it was awesome. It was an. incredible way to start a Sunday and.
this is like the third or fourth week in. a row that we've been watching Aaron and. everyone's like he'll make a play or two. a game in the pocket where he's moving. around the pocket and he's looking very. spry and he's looking good and people. were saying he's looking more mobile. than he has in like the last four or. five years. Um, was it he throwing the. ball a ton down the field yesterday? No. But he's always making the right. decision. You know, he's going to get. you into the right play. And it's just. another situation where they obviously, as we just talked about, ran the ball a. ton. Jaylen Warren is awesome. The. Saints only ran for 18 yards. So, you. were correct in seeing that start in. that stat. This is the best the Steelers.
have been in the trenches at least in. five years. So, just an incredible way. to start your day yesterday and punt for. Aaron set in history again. We would. have liked Jaylen Warren maybe to get. the first time uh touchdown or any. touchdown, but did you see any vintage. Rajie there, Ty, as you've been watching. Aaron here with this Pittsburgh Steelers. team? And do you think it's because it. is his final year, so he's leaving it. all out there? Or is he in better shape. than ever, it appears, Tai? >> Uh, I think it's a little bit of both. There was a a play early on where he he. had thrown a couple deep balls and. missed on him and then he had a.
beautifully placed deep ball bomb to uh. DK to get them down into the red zone. and just like came out quick, evaded the. rush uh and kind of you know got out of. the pocket like it that that looked like. 2013 Aaron Rogers and then again the uh. the the scramble he had to kind of put. the game away like that was that was Raj. from early in his career and I think I I. think it is he he's just kind of. enjoying everything taking everything in. because it really does feel like this. actually is the last year uh of his.
career and he's comfortable with Mike. He likes a lot of his teammates. So. yeah, Raj does look like he's kind of. turning the page back uh quite a bit and. it's awesome to watch. >> So it's not just old ass Aaron. There's. another man that made history this. weekend. Congratulations to Matthew. Stafford becoming the all-time leader in. passing touchdowns for two franchises. Two franchises. Obviously, the Detroit. Lions, remember, throwing all over the. place. Now, for the Los Angeles Rams, for the Rams organization, he's the. all-time leader in passing touchdowns. You go back, greatest show on turf. Was.
that the Rams? >> Mhm. >> Yep. >> Mhm. >> They they threw a bunch of Then there. was another name that came up uh last. night that actually held the record. He. blows through it. The Rams era of. Matthew Stafford's career, obviously. gets an MVP, gets a Super Bowl. I had no. idea it had been long enough for him to. become the franchise leader in passing. touchdowns. dude is special. He was. drafted number one overall in the same. draft class that I was in. I was picked. 222 and he's still spinning it as if it.
was the day he came out of Georgia. I. have no idea how he's been able to. accomplish it. His grittness and. toughness exemplifies what a NFL. quarterback should be. We've seen him. play through broken shoulders, broken. ribs. He. literally as he's running down the field. in a miked up thing, still getting the. job done. Dut, you were drafted in the. same draft class. This dude's. outrageous. Did we know the Rams era had. been long enough for him to become the. franchise leader? I did not. I was uh. mightily surprised by this. >> I absolutely did not. And we watched him. play for a long, long time in Detroit.
We expected him to have all the passing. records there, the yards, the. touchdowns. He was always doing his. thing just about, hey, the team, the. team around him, can he ever get in the. playoffs and make something happen? Then. you got the team around him in LA. He's. been driving that ship. He's been. unbelievable. Yeah, I'm I'm with you. I. was actually surprised that he jumped up. to number one that quick. I guess I. shouldn't be, but he's been tremendous. And and as you get older, you know, usually your body slows down a little. bit. He looks like he can still throw. the ball the same way he did 10 years. ago. So, I don't know if it was that. damn chamber. I don't know if it's some.
other stuff going on in LA. He's looked. incredible. I mean, >> the sun is nice out there. The sun is. really nice out there. We were out there. for a week last week. The Ricks didn't. have power for 24 hours. I have no idea. that happens, but we did get a chance to. experience the sun. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is the number one. overall pick from the 2009 draft. Now. the all-time leader in passing. touchdowns in two different franchises. What a stallion. Ladies and gentlemen, Super Bowl champion, MVP Matthew. Stafford. Matthew, >> fellas, how we doing,
>> dude? Thank you for joining us. So. thankful that you made time. I. understand uh you're fresh out of. breaking some franchise records and. there's a lot going on. So we. appreciate. We were surprised. Okay. I. was I just mentioned I think you heard. me talk about that, but how has this era. of being an LA Ram? I I think a lot of. people whenever you go out there with. what your age was naturally, you win a. Super Bowl, then there was like he's. going to retire, he's going to retire, and then how would we recall it now? You're the all-time leader for the Rams. Does that carry any more weight for you. as like the face of two franchises? Like.
how do you kind of view your experience. in Los Angeles now? >> Yeah, I I kind of look back at the kind. of the same way you guys do. I sit there. and go, man, I have been here for a. little bit. And uh I do have so much. respect for the guys that played the. position before me. Obviously, passing. Roman Gabriel is a really cool thing for. me being a kid. Uh just loving the. history of this game and being able to. be in the same breath as guys like that. means a lot to me. Uh I think about it. and I think about all the teammates I. got to throw to. You guys obviously. remember launching touchdowns to Calvin. Johnson and Pedigrew and all the boys in. uh in Detroit. Uh you know, when we were.
all still playing and and now I sit. there and think, you know, I'm throwing. them to Dvonte Adams and and Puka. It's. it's a special thing to be a part of. Um, a lot of people had their hand in. it. I don't catch them, I just throw. them, but uh there's a lot of people out. there that that make those things. happen. So, just appreciative to be able. to have played this long and and loving. my time here for sure. >> Tell me a little bit about McVeyy's. offense and why you have loved it so. much since day one. It does feel like. you two are a great tag team. I know. contract there was some stuff, but on.
the field and I believe as friends, you. two work magic together. Why is that? What what is it about the way McVey. operates that you love so much? >> Yeah, you know, I think we challenge. each other. Um, you know, he's obviously. challenged me in, you know, on the. field. Uh, asked me to do things that I. was never asked to really do in Detroit, whether that's moving the pocket or. doing some of the things we do within. the offense. And then I think in the. same breath, I bring things that I'm. used to doing when I was in Detroit. Um, you know, to where, hey, let's let's. mold these two things together. Let's. try to find a way to be the best that we. can. And we're all ultimately out there.
just trying to be problem solvers, right? uh week in and week out there's. injuries, things that happen throughout. the game. How are we going to find a way. to win the ball game? And and I've just. love being in the foxhole with him. He's. been in my ear since I've been here and. uh love going to battle with him. >> I don't know what the percentage is, but. it feels like every other throw you. have. You don't see who you're throwing. it to. AJ has a question about that. actually. Matty, >> Matthew, obviously your your no look. stuff gets a lot of attention, which it. should because it's it's an absolute. weapon. I know we've had Aaron Rogers on. here complimenting you on your no look.
passes. Like, how did that come about? Is that something that just started as a. joke? You're messing around playing with. your buddies. Like, is it something you. can work on in practice? And and I guess. did you expect to be doing it this. often? >> Yeah. No, I don't I don't think I really. ever expected to be doing it this often. I think it really started uh to be. honest with you, AJ, back when we were. battling against each other and. everybody in the building knew I was. trying to throw it to Calvin. So, okay, how do I, you know, not look at Calvin. and still throw it to Calvin. Um, you. know, that was kind of how it started. And then, you know, I think uh with the. way that coach um allows me to have some.
freedom here, um just try to know what. the defense is doing. Hey, I know what. we're doing on offense. I'm trying to. find ways to make a good play better or. a play that might be a little bit. uphill, make it work. And so, uh it's. it's a natural thing. It doesn't I don't. think about it before the snap. I catch. the ball. Um I I understand what the. defense is in. I try to move guys if I. need to move guys. Sometimes you don't, but um you know, one one yesterday tried. to peel a corner off of a flat route for. us and and it ended up working and uh we. score a touchdown on it. So, uh I'm. happy to do them when they work. When. they don't, uh that's a tough feeling,
but uh they work most of the time. >> Yeah. I'm trying to get a guy off a guy, you know, just got I'm letting the eyes. dance. You see him whenever he can move. and then do it. And that do you work how. often are you working that like in. practice? Are you working that every day. or is this just a natural ability? And. do you think future quarterbacks should. be forced to learn how to do this? >> No, I think you should only do it if. you're going, you know, Aaron's been. doing them more now. I'll tell you what, he does some uh you know, a lot of times. looking straight, throwing out to his. right. I see him checking them down, doing some of those throws down there,
giving his guys a little bit more room, which is an impressive impressive deal, too. But no, it comes up in practice for. sure. Um I don't think about it, like I. said, and it comes over it comes up. organically in practice as well. It's. not like, hey, here's the play. I'm. going to no look it. Let's go do it. Um. it just happens and um it's a fun little. right of passage for the linebackers. that we're practicing against if we get. a new guy in. Uh try to get him moving. one way throw behind him one day and. just tip of the cap to him. He looks. back to me like what the hell is that? But uh it's it's a lot of fun.
>> Yeah, he Oh, the. >> poor kid getting cut. Poor kid's getting. cut cuz he's jumping the crosser every. time. >> Hey, welcome to the Rams, bud. You don't. know who Matthew Stafford is, you. idiot. You think he's going to. look where he's throwing it? Yeah, right. That is a player's realization in. real time I would assume for him. Debbut. has a question for you. You guys are. supposed to be undefeated and you're. supposed to win an MVP again. Go ahead, Debbut. >> Yeah, obviously it's a playtoplay week. toe league, you know, inside the locker. room with outside noise coming in that. those were the expectations with you. coming back as a reigning MVP, Miles. Garrett coming over defensive player of.
the year and obviously Shawn McVey being. who he is. How has it been managing the. expectations in that locker room even. from the preseason now where you sit. going forward? Yeah, I think it's been a. big challenge. Obviously, um the biggest. thing is is trying to be as steady as I. possibly can when when things, you know, aren't going your way. We've played a. couple games this year where we feel. like we've played well enough to win. them for one reason or another. We. haven't uh you know, come away with. those victories and that's a tough pill. to swallow as you guys know when you. feel like you got a game uh you know, and it doesn't go your way at the end. Um, that's difficult, but at the same.
time, how steady can I be? So the guys. that haven't been through some of the. storms that an NFL season inevitably. bring, hey, how can I be steady for. those guys? So they look at me and go, "Oh, okay. We're going to be all right. Look how staff's acting. Let's go." And. and I'm really proud of the work of the. week of work that we had last week that. led to a great game. Um, we got to go. kill keep doing that. You know, we got. to stack uh stack those weeks on top of. each other so that we can uh get where. we want to be. I don't know if you've. heard all of us talk about your team uh. last week on Monday Night Counc on this. show. I think on NFL, I think everybody.
that speaks about your team, are we. worried about the Rams? You know, because the way records are in math and. like how often teams have been able to. go on, all of us have a like an. unwavering and unflapable belief in you. guys just because the amount of talent. you have. I assume same for you guys. I. assume the same for you guys. >> Yeah, but I would say less so because of. our talent. Probably a little bit more. so because of our resilience. You know, I think uh a couple years ago, 2023, I. believe it was, we were 1-4 to start the. season, made the playoffs, we were 3-6. the next year, made the playoffs. Um,
you know, we'd love to come out and and. start like we did in 2021 and be 7-1 or. whatever it was to start the season. But, you know, you go through storms in. NFL season. Sometimes that's, you know, right out the gate. And so, uh, we got. to find a way to come out of that thing, find our identity, make sure that we're. playing good football and and yesterday. was a step in the right in the right. direction. still some plays out there. that we wish we had back and and if we. can clean those up, it look even better. So, uh just happy to get a win as we. move forward, continue to try to get. better um as the season goes. >> We love watching your team and we feel.
like the uh story of this NFL season, 13. personnel, which we're going to ask you. about here in a bit because you have a. triple tower type situation, but the run. game seemingly more important now in. ball than it has been for the last. couple of decades. Connor has a question. for you about that staff. Yeah, Matthew, having played Cororm and Kairen Williams. back there, seemingly huge for for the. offense and something that maybe you've. never had before when it comes to kind. of a two-headed monster back there. How. awesome is it to have those two guys? And how often now do you go up there. with a run play called or a pass play.
called and you're like, you know what, I'm just going to check it cuz both my. running backs are unbelievable. >> Yeah, they are. It's it's a whole lot of. fun. Um, and you're right, I haven't had. a a tandem like this where they both can. do everything, right? You usually have. one big guy, one small guy, a big slow. guy that can run over people and a small. fast guy that can run around people and. and this is a really unique instance in. which we can call our entire offense. with both those guys in the game and not. not bad nice. Sometimes I get in the. huddle. I don't know which one of them. is in the damn game. They look so much. alike anyways. So, hey, we just go out. there and play ball and and those guys.
do what they do. But it is fun and I. know our guys up front love blocking in. the run game for those guys because. they're making big plays and and uh you. know that's that's when football's fun. when everybody's getting involved. Both. backs are touching it. Um the old. linemen are getting after it. Um. yesterday was a fun experience. >> Yeah. So when the run game gets going. obviously you can, you know, we can. start cooking a little bit and then that. sucks up the linebackers. You know, we're trying to suck them up. Trying to. get them sucked up. You know who eats? They had a holiday yesterday. Hey, Diggs.
has a question for you, staff. >> Yeah, I do. And there was a lot made. last year about I don't know halfway. through the season, you guys went to a. ton of 12, 13 personnel. And Pat was out. there for Monday night and he's like, "You guys need to see these tight ends. in person." They're like all 68. They're. all like 250 and they could all run. So, how do you choose each week who which. tight end's going to get two touchdowns. in each week? And. >> how fun is it having those guys. available for you? >> It's a it's a blast. We pick straws. Um. and uh you know, I was happy for DA. We. call him the general. Uh that's why.
everybody was saluting him afterwards, but uh uh he uh he he drew the the straw. this week. So, you know, I just tried to. beat him down there in the red zone. Next week, it'll be somebody else. No, it is it's so much fun to play with. those guys. You know, like you said, they're all big, tall, strong, fast, can. do it all. Complete football players. Uh. but great teammates, too, man. They all. celebrate each other, which is a whole. hell of a lot of fun to be around when. guys can be happy for other people's. success. you've been on teams like that. where you know a guy scores and. everybody's juice for him no matter what. even if they play the same position. So.
happy to have those guys and and they. definitely make it go for us. >> That's great to hear especially with the. rocky start rocky start you guys had you. know cuz people can turn on each other. instead it sounds like you guys have. only hunkered down and started. celebrating each other more. Here's a. stat from Sarah Barsha per ESPN. research. You guys ran a season high 34. plays with three tight ends on the. field. Also had a season high 38 rushes. I kind of said this earlier. It was our. top five headline number five. The pound. the rock era. Does it feel like it's. more bigger bodies again? Like maybe at. the beginning of your career in the NFL.
as opposed to what it became on the. field at all times? >> Yeah, absolutely. I I definitely think. so. This feels uh you know around the. league when you look at it. Um fullbacks. are back. Um you know, tight ends are. back. This is what it felt like when I. came into the league, like you said, in. 2009. Um you know, it's cyclical. everything kind of goes in a circle and. then it became a huge 11 personnel. nickel defense league for a long long. time. Um and and now it feels like we're. kind of coming back to it. So, uh got to. ride the wave, got to figure out what. works and and obviously whatever.
personnel group you got out there, you. got to go out there and execute and get. it done. But, uh it was nice to get the. big fellas on the field yesterday, pound. the rock a little bit. And, uh usually. when you have 38 rushes means you're. leading the game. You're doing things. the right way. So, happy to happy to be. doing that. >> Yeah. And you got wide receivers that'll. run through somebody's face, too. And I. know you're happy to get us back. Ty has. a question for you. >> Yeah, Matthew, how has your relationship. with Puka evolved since he got there? like I think it was the Monday night. game where he had you know 17 catches. set a whole bunch of records and I.
assume you know yes you guys ran the. ball a bunch but with Devonte being out. for a little bit here. Have you pulled. Puka aside and been like hey I don't. know how much you watched when I was in. Detroit but I'm going to be throwing you. the ball 30 to 35 times a game. So I'm. going to need you, you know, really. locked in for these next several weeks. >> No, I didn't have to say anything to. him. That guy knows he's getting the. rock. He's he's a heck of a football. player. Another guy on our team that. everybody loves. Um, love to be around. him. What he brings to our team. energy-wise on game day is incredible. Uh, like you said, running through.
people's face. He's the physical player. at the, you know, receiver position that. I've ever been around. And that's that's. when he catches it and runs it. But, I. mean, I bet people miss blocks where. he's going through the hole and he. really has the safety, but the. linebacker shows up and he just goes. ahead and knocks that guy down, too. So, I mean, he's he's a special player. Uh, we're happy to have him. But I think all. those guys know when Devonte, a player. like that, a Hall of Famer, uh, future. Hall of Famer, um, you know, goes down, it's going to be all hands on deck. And. those guys stepped up in a big way. yesterday.
>> You're the man. We appreciate you. joining us. Congrats on all the success. Good luck the rest of the way. Uh, we. can't wait to watch you continue to do. your thing. And congrats on another. record, dude. You're going to It means. you're old, but congrats on another. record. >> Yeah. >> Appreciate it, fellas. Always fun to. come on with you guys. >> You're the man, ladies and gentlemen. That's NFL MVP Matthew Stafford. >> Hey, Matthew. >> That's the only way you get those. records. You got to be old. You know, you got to be around a long time. I like. that he was just as surprised as us. Man, I could have the old time lead over. here. It feels like I just got here.
yesterday. It does feel like it was. yesterday, but I guess he's been very. prolific since the day he arrived as a. Los Angeles Ram. AJ playing against. Matthew Stafford. His arm talent always. there. Just a ridiculous. toughness about him. >> Yeah. Competitor. Yeah, exactly. I think. that is his big thing. Don't you think, AJ? >> Yeah. It's the the combination of the. relentless competitor that wants to win. at all costs, like we'll will play. through anything, but also the physical. tools. I mean, that's why he's a number. one overall pick. When you have a guy.
that can have both, like we know a lot. of guys, Pat, like that are physical. freaks, like they have all the tools, but they just can't seem to put it. together. They don't have the drive or. the competitiveness, whatever it. whatever it is. Matthew's one of those. guys, I think, that has both. He's the. combo that will compete to the death, but he also has the physical tools and. wants to win more than anybody. So, yeah, I was, I guess, unlucky enough to. see that firsthand for a long time when. I was in Green Bay playing against him, but also like had so much respect for. the dude, watching him do it. Now, when. you see him doing it now, though, he's. not the dude's not slowing down at all.
Like, his arm strength is off the. charts. All the different arm angles and. the platforms like he throws from like. he's still doing it all. I don't think. he should uh he should not stop anytime. soon. I don't like that photo right. there for Matthew Stafford. You know, he's in camp there. He's got bad tan. line there, but he still looks. unbelievable. But the D, but I want to. ask you about this. A lot of these older. quarterbacks, their arms become noodles. I mean, it's happened. We we Drew Brees. said he wasn't strong enough to come. back when everybody wanted him to come. back. Matt Ryan at the end of his.
career, like his arm just couldn't do it. anymore. Philip Rivers, I think he was. like, I can't get it. At some point you. aren't just like kickers or punters. It. happens where you just don't have enough. explosiveness to be able to do what you. do. Matthew Stafford and Aaron the old. guard as we wrap up uh headline number. four here. They're still throwing it. just as good as they did 10 years ago. It doesn't make sense. It kind of defies. what's supposed to happen. Deb. >> Yeah. Some of these guys they'll be able. to throw the ball forever. Like Aaron. Rodgers whether Dan Marino could. probably still throw the ball 60 yards. in the air. Joe Flacco, he's a guy who.
just has a gun for an arm. So Matt. Stafford is one of those guys. And then. once he got to the Rams, he mentioned it. like it was just a different evolution. that he had to take with the run game, with the play action game, with moving. the pocket. So you have a guy that can. drop back and throw it 60 times and. you're in trouble as a defense. Now when. you give them a run game and a play. action game that you have to worry. about, it can become uh unstoppable. Now. injuries have have been a part of some. of the things that got in their way, but. uh the efficiency from them like they. were five for five in the red area, I. believe, uh against the Raiders. He's.
just he's unbelievable. And as his mind. is kind of sped up, his body and his arm. haven't slowed down. So yeah, that's a. great great combination for a. quarterback. >> combination. Good for Matthew Stafford. Combination of two all-time leading. passers for two different franchises. Super Bowl champ and an MVP. That's. first ballot. We think. >> Could be. >> Got to be. >> We think. We don't know now. >> Should be. >> We don't know now. We think. All right, let's go to number three headline. Maybe. a future Hall of Famer. Hey, a small step for man, a giant leap for.
JJ McCarthy, who was just a meme. Okay, if you got nined, it means things were. going real bad for you cuz his look in. the locker room and all the stuff that. he thought he was supposed to be or was. portraying as he was. If you don't win, everybody's going to mock you for it. We. watch it with Russell Wilson when he was. in Seattle and he was winning everything. he was doing. Cool. Goes to Denver, they. don't win. Everybody calls him corny. It's kind of an interesting dynamic or. dilemma. Whenever you win games, everything's okay. Whenever you lose.
games, people are going to kill you. So, whenever JJ didn't become like a. allgenerational type franchise player. for the Minnesota Vikings when he got. drafted there, everything he was doing. before that was being praised is now. embarrassing and uh disgusting and a. little bit of cringe. And how can you do. that? This guy sucks. This guy stinks. Now, jury's still out on whether or not. he's going to be a great NFL. quarterback, but his first game starting. for the New York Football Giants, he. goes into overtime in Houston and gets a. win. Now, Malik Neighbors has uh he's. gone over a 100 yards with five.
different uh quarterbacks. I think. that's the most since 2024. This guy. doesn't care who's throwing him the. ball. He's like Justin Jefferson. He's. like what uh new uh DeAndre Hopkins was. for a while. Doesn't matter who's his. quarterback. He's going to perform. He's. going to do his thing. JJ McCarthy. Yep. Boom. nailed it. Happy that's still in. there. Good for my brain. I like that. we're still cooking at that type of in. that type of fashion. But JJ McCarthy. could have a whole new world here in the. Giants organization. Jackson Dart. obviously injured is their guy for the.
future. But if JJ McCarthy can win games. like he did in Houston, there's going to. be some chatter about this JJ guy. becoming a guy somewhere. Let's go to. New York Giants fan Bruce Brown. Bruce, he didn't nine himself after the game. He actually gave a great postgame speech. that sounded a lot like Jameus Winston. So, we got a Jameus Winston, JJ McCarthy. duo that's maybe going to create the. greatest JJ possible. He's back with a. hard ball. Is this the future for the. Giants? JJ McCarthy, Bruce Brown. How's.
that conversation going amongst you. Giants fans today? >> Uh, yeah. I mean, it is crazy to. envision that we might have a. quarterback controversy brewing for next. season with JJ McCarthy and uh and. Jackson Dart, but I'll be honest, as. 10-point dogs going into Houston, Will. Anderson, Denil Hunter, I thought we. were cooked. I thought we had a nice fun. fourth quarter almost comeback against. the Saints and that uh JJ was going to. let us down here. Um but he was. unbelievable. Four for four on tight. window throws. I I guess we always knew.
that he had a bit of arm talent, but. just seeing it um over the course of a. full game where he's just humming it in. there uh to to Malik to Malachi Fields. there um unbelievable. And then the. growth and maturity. He was a little bit. like Jackson Dart his rookie year where. he was he was putting his head in there. He was diving for the end zone. Uh. getting banged up, knocked out of games. He took three sacks, but largely he was. composed um in the pocket getting rid of. the football uh and and didn't make any.
stupid decisions. There wasn't a almost. interception. He took care of the ball. He took care of the program. Um and he. opened up the run game with uh big motor. there, Scataboo, trucking everybody. Uh. and Tyrone Tracy scoring as well. So, it. was probably the best regular season. Giants win um that I can remember in the. in the last few years. I Wow. >> I cannot believe it. >> Huge. >> It massive. Now we're going into the. bye-week. We have the the Wounded Eagles.
on the other side of the buy in the. driver's seat of the NFC East. Uh it. feels like we're having the first home. playoff game at Metife and it's all out. there in front of us thanks to young JJ. stepping up. >> Yeah, JJ McCarthy was nine. Now he's. just fine for the Giants. AJ, the NFC. East is the NFC least. So, there's a. chance this Giants team can actually. host a home playoff game. And once you. get in a dance, especially if you have a. run game, we've learned who knows, AJ. Is John Harbaugh the answer in New York. from his style of play? Or is JJ.
McCarthy the answer for the New York. Giants success this year, AJ? That is on. you to decide right now on this every. >> right now. That is tough to say. And for. Bruce saying he's four for four on tight. window passes. I'm not sure exactly what. constitutes a tight windowight. That's. definitely tight window. What? What's. the like what's not what's not a tight. window? Okay, here we go. >> Is that a tight window? >> That's a contestant. >> Tight window. >> Tight window right here. >> Either way, four for four has got to BE. GOOD. >> WINDOWIGHT WINDOWIGHT WINDOW.
>> So tight. >> Second and 17. You're going to have to. hit a tight window. SECOND AND 17 WITH. THE BOOM. THAT WINDOW WAS BIG AND THEN. IT GOT REAL TIGHT. >> Oh yeah. >> Two for two on those things. Yeah, it's. a great. >> bet. I bet you this next one's three for. three on this tight small. >> Here we go. What's this one? Here we go. We got tight window here. No question. >> That was extending the plate. >> It's like porn. If you see it, you know. what it is. >> Okay. >> What?
>> What's that? >> I don't know if there's a saying. There's a saying like that. It's like if. you if you see it, you know what it is. If it walks like a duck, it talks like a. duck. If you know a tight window, you. know a tight window. >> Yeah. But I don't think that's what you. said. I don't I don't think that's what. you said. This might be it. >> Is this a. defense? That was good play action. Good. fake boot leg. He throws it back across. his body. Maybe a blowing coverage there. actually, but he still was able to hit. it. Extended and extended plays. He was. 100% in tight window throwsight.
The tightest tightest window you can. find right there. >> That window is ALMOST CLOSED OVER. THAT'S AGAINST THE That's against the. Texans. This isn't just nobody's. >> pretty tight. >> You know what I like seeing? We We. showed that clip of John Hall like. hugging everybody, falling on the. ground. How often do we get that during. regular season football games? You know, if you're a team that is like say you're. think of like the Patriots when they. were just going on the run, they're. winning. Like if they felt like they. weren't enjoying any of the wins, like.
yeah, it's fun to win. That was the. thing. out. Like I I think it's cool. when you get to actually celebrate. regular season wins because we don't. really see this a whole lot in the NFL. except for teams that are like on the. rise or say they're terrible and they. finally win a game and look at these. guys sitting at top the NFC East. >> Well, especially, you know, cuz John. Harbaugh is trying to put in a culture. there and celebrating a regular season. win is a big deal. He might be scared to. do that cuz he doesn't want these guys. to think like, hey, this is Super Bowl. for us. I like that he acknowledged the. situation. I like that. Hey, we're. 10-point dogs. We're not supposed to win.
this. We got JJ McCarthy. We just traded. for him two weeks ago. He's starting at. quarterback as the boys watch him give. his speech there in the back. I. appreciate he g I love you guys there. And John Harbaugh. I don't think he was. scared to let the boys know, hey, we. should be enjoying the hell out of this. And Bruce got the marching orders. You. heard Bruce. This is the biggest regular. season win we've had in years. He said. debut. What a time to be a Giants fan. And it is crazy. You bring in a fresh, you know, fresh set of folks. Arb comes. in there, fresh building. You bring in a. mindset. We're going to run the hell out.
of the ball. We're going to be great on. defense. We're going to be a hard-nosed. culture. We're going to be an. accountability driven culture. Things. start going well. Then injuries take. place. Injuries take place. Next man, how do you go ahead and do that? How do. you continue to be great even though the. NFC East is Then JJ McCarthy comes. in and he picks up right where I think. John Harbaugh wanted him to be. No. excuses. Let's go win this game. Let's. execute. Let's be safe. It feels like. the Harbaugh culture is really something. that the Giants are benefiting from. mightily. very very quick and very very. early here. >> Absolutely love Harball showing that.
emotion on the sideline too. We know the. hard balls are football guys. That's why. when his brother came on his dober was. down like whoa that's not what we're. used to seeing from these guys. So now. we see the dobbers all the way up on. that New York Giants sideline and yeah. JJ, you know, stepped into somewhat of a. tough spot. You get into a team, you're. kind of brand new and then you thrust. into the starting position, but these. are the expectations you have when. you're a first round quarterback. And. like Bruce said, for him, you want you. want to make him to have to make a tough. decision when it comes when Jackson Dart. is back healthy and you get into the. offseason. So, you got a fresh start. You got a fresh play. Shout out to these.
coaching staffs, too, putting him in a. good situation. This game, this kind of. game script couldn't have gone any. better for them. He took care of the. ball. He made throws, taking three. sacks. That's much better than making. terrible throws and creating turnovers. And then the the running game, the we. talked about that was our, you know, number five headline, the running game. You know, almost 200 yards rushing, you. know, kind of a three-headed monster. back there. So, it was a perfect storm. And then the defense, their defense was. an absolute disaster last year. So, bringing over Dinard Wilson being their. new DC, Deontay Banks, Abdul Carter's a.
game wreck. Like, it's just studs up and. down this roster. So, to see it actually. turn into wins and to be four two and. one I think right now sitting on top of. the NFC East. I mean, what what a. turnaround for the New York Football. Giants. >> Yeah, they got a bye-week coming up. Scataboo is going to have to rest that. hamstring. We saw him open it up there. Uh, I appreciated him saying, "I'll be. back by then." And I appreciate. Singleary taking it home. The Houston. Texans have a lot of questions now. They. roll to two and five. That is not good. Never expected that out of them, especially with how good CJ Strad is. playing. And the New York Giants 42 and.
one. What an absolutely absurd run. Congrats to JJ McCarthy potentially. rewriting his entire football life. Let's go to the number two headline. And. I'll tell you, it's a tale of two. different halves here. Burrow berries. Baltimore Ravens second half. Disaster. Disease. We're saying disease because. it's not just this week that this. happened. Now, there was a 35 point. swing uh from the first half to the. second half in this particular game. Joe. Burrow comes alive, but if you go just. in general, just in general from the. season, number one team in the NFL with.
point differential, the Ravens in the. first half, last worst team in the NFL, minus 70 second half point differential. What the hell happens, AJ Debbut? You. guys know better than me. They're going. into the locker room at halftime and. saying, "Boys, let's play like ass in. the second half." What happens, AJ? Why. do you think this is in out of Joe. Burrow? Uh, in the Bengals side, Jamar. Chase allegedly at halftime went in. there and got after people's ass. They. come out, they execute in the second. half and play the best ball they've. played all season, but the Ravens second.
half disaster disease seems to be a real. thing. If you could just be close. against the Ravens going into halftime, allegedly second half you can get the. win against them. That's a terrible. thing to be known for, AJ. Yeah, it. really is. And I think coaches are. always trying to figure out what the. answer is. Like what do you do? Like we. talk a lot of times about, you know, hey, you need to get off to a fast. start. You want to come out and coaches. say, "Okay, well, how do we do that? What you want us to go full go? Let's do. goal line in warm-ups." Like what what. can you do to try to spur that on? As. far as for the Ravens, I I don't know. what you're going to have to do like at.
halftime, what you're going to try to do. to rally the troops so this doesn't. continue to happen. But to think about. getting shut out 35 nothing in the. second half, like that would never even. cross your mind. I think in the locker. room of a game that you are leading. So, I'm not sure. I I give I more point to. the the Bengals and give them credit for. turning it on and figuring out a way, but the like it is it's pretty drastic. when you think about this Ravens team. when they are what they're doing in the. second half. Like what we all know like. there's not huge adjustments going on in. the second half. It's a 12minute. halftime. Like you're not going in there.
and making wholesale changes. Coaches. aren't giving the remember the Titans. pump up speeches. So, I'm not sure what. >> bananas, orange juice. >> Yeah. Now, maybe bananas and orange. juice would help. Maybe that'll uh kind. of benefit for all the boys. No, Lamar. Jackson, multiple weeks. That could be a. big piece of this cuz I think in the. second half, Lamar would wear you down. and probably perform better. But D, but. 135 point swing between the first halves. and the second halfs for this Boltzman. Ravens team. That's crazy. Should we. just be crediting the other teams? Cuz. we watched the Bolts Ravens pound the. Colts.
>> week one. Yep. So, they definitely have. it in there. Should we? >> Yeah. >> So, you know, we're just not a good. football team. Who? Who? Yeah. Who? >> Not at all. Absolute shite. >> Yeah, but you got I mean, you got to. look at you got to look at Joe Burrow. Like you said, how did they adjust? >> Suck. Suck. Go ahead. I wish we had Joe. B. >> I think he was like 16 for 18 for like. 250 yards in the second half. We know he. wants to drop back and throw the ball 50. 60 times a game. So, I like when a. quarterback has that mindset and wants. to, hey, let me put it all on my. shoulders. We paid these two wide.
receivers because I said so, basically. So, let me show you why. So to put up 35. points for them and for the Ravens just. to not have an answer. I feel like this. is every time they play Joe Burrow for. whatever reason. I think Marlon Humphrey. even said it before the game. I wish I. didn't match up with Jamar Chase uh so. much, which is wild to say as a starting. quarterback in the National Football. League, but he said it and I guess Joe. Burrow and the Bengals came out and. showed him why I didn't. It wasn't just. Jamar Chase. T. Higgins had a huge game. But I mean, whoever is open, nine is. going to find him. But yeah, that's. that's very a very very troubling stat.
for the Ravens. And obviously it's not. just Jesse Mentor. This goes back to the. hard ball area as well when it comes. back to uh second half losing these. leads. So it's crazy, man. But shout out. to the Bengals getting hot in that. second half. >> Yeah. Shout out to the Bengals still. very much in it and Joey Burrow is. unbelievable. They get weapons galore. You know, the defense and I think the. Falcons are benefiting from this defense. hasn't really been the same since Jesse. Bates was kind of let out of the. building. If you go back, Jesse Bates. broke a record this weekend of some sort. for the Falcons. He is a weapon. uh he.
leaves the Bengals a few years back. That's when they started kind of, >> you know, it was kind of when it. started. This year's defense has a. little different attitude. Maybe the. Bengals get back to the dance. And let's. go to number one headline because it. involves the Bengals. Every team from. the North divisions above 500. First. time ever. >> Wow. >> Wow. >> First time ever. >> Unbelievable stuff. The North is just. tough physical football. Okay. You go. back to the Big 10. They've won three of. the last three national championships. with three different teams. The North is. built different when you have to open a.
door and there's a little chill in the. air. Not that that's happened for some. of these teams yet, but when you go out. there, so don't let me don't let that. get in the way of a good point, just. makes you tougher and better football. AJ, your thoughts on the North being. dominant this year and maybe this is. just what football is going forward. Big. 10 win national championship or the Big. 12 team from the North and then AFC and. NFC North going to win the Super Bowl. for the foreseeable future. I guess I. mean this is something that you've been. talking about for years if you remember. going back to the college football. playoffs like teams from the north. playing in the cold. That's when they. kind of have their advantage. But if you.
think about it though, are we going to. see the the North and all these. divisions even continue to dominate as. it gets colder, the the weather gets. colder, it gets we got rain, we're wind, all of this stuff when we have to like. kind of rely on old school tough gritty. football, pound the rock, stop the run. Like. >> I don't know. We need to we're going to. keep our eye on this for sure to see if. this is a trend that continues because. right now the North's looking pretty. damn good. We're going to keep two eyes. from you, two eyes from me. I think the. boys are going to have two eyes. If. there's one eye, if there if there's a. one eye person watching in stereo, they'll keep one eye on it cuz it does.
feel like it is the run the rock era. right now. >> In the Northern teams, >> take care of the ball around. Don't beat. yourself. Take care of the ball. Yeah. Let force the other team to make the. mistakes. Yeah, you're right. >> Yeah. So, maybe that's a philosophy that. we need to dive into a little deeper. Congrats to everybody in the North. having successful seasons. The South, different story. Uh we don't have to. talk about it. Let's join uh let's bring. in somebody uh that can tell us a little. bit more about everything that we maybe. we missed or something that needs to be. talked about more. Senior NFL insider. for ESPN and NFL Network. Ladies and.
gentlemen, Adam Chef. >> Chef, what's going on Pat? You're in. Philly, huh? >> Yeah, I'm down here in Philadelphia. It's not just me, it's also Gumpy. Boom. Gumpy's here. >> We're in Philly, huh? Philly, >> we're in Philly, huh? >> Hey, we just thought about having uh. Skinny Joe's cheese steaks. We just. drove right by Skinny Joe. >> Oh yeah, he's. >> Skinny Joe. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. From my understanding, it is that. Skinny Joe who could potentially give it. to you if you need it. But Skinny Joe's.
got some cheese steaks down the road. right next to the highway. We might stop. by there. Big Dom sent a text. Anything. you need paisan, I got you. So we are in. Philadelphia and we are pumped to be. here. Chef, is there going to be some. other people that are going to be in. Philadelphia or other cities than they. are in right now? Yesterday, you. obviously caught the eye of a lot of. Colts fans with your Sunday Countdown. show where you say, "Hey, here's the. players that need to be watched before. the trade deadline." I immediately upon. Chris Ballard getting fired, thought. that we would be a very active bunch at. the trade deadline, but those decisions. are going to have to be made very, very.
quickly by somebody because we don't. have a lot of picks. We're obviously. going to be turning over pretty big. here. We lose to the Vikings. Now, how. much more of that is a conversation. because of our loss to the Vikings? And. what is the reality of what we can get. for some of these guys and who else is. maybe on the move? She as I throw a lot. at you. >> Well, I think look, the NFL trade. deadline is 2 weeks from tomorrow. And. in each of the last two years, there. have been 18 trades from October 1st. through the trade deadline. This year. we've gotten four. So, if we're going to.
apply what has happened the last couple. of years to this year, we should be. looking at about 14 more trades. Now, again, I think double-digit trades from. now until the trade deadline is probably. realistic. So, I don't know, 10 more. trades. And the Colts lost yesterday at. Minnesota. They play at Jacksonville and. then come home from the Dallas Cowboys. Now, if they could find a way to win at. Jacksonville, that might change some of. the conversations. But if they lose on. Sunday and they come home and lose to.
the Cowboys and why are we holding on to. certain players? Quinton Nelson, last. year of his contract, he's a free agent. DeForest Buckner, last year of his. contract, it's going to be a free agent. He's already talked like he would. welcome a change there. There are going. to be interested teams. The Colts. already traded their one to the Jets. >> So, if you want to replenish some draft. capital, there is a easy way to do it. >> Chefy, real quick, I don't want to cut. you off. Is there any way the Colts. could get a one for any of these guys? Start with Jonathan Taylor.
>> Yeah, >> I I look here's what I would go back to. When the Panthers traded Christian. McCaffrey, I think that was to the. Niners. If my memory serves me. correctly, it was a two and a five, a. two and a six, >> something like that. Yeah. Not a first. >> Yeah. I I I look, and by the way, they. don't have to trade him. Jonathan. Taylor's the centerpiece of that team. I. I don't I don't think they get a one. I. just don't think they get a one. >> Is is it worth trading him for a two and. a five? Whatever the Christian McCaffrey. package is, I'd have to look it up. I.
mean, to me, that's the closest comp. that we'd have right now. Who's the last. running back that got traded for a one? It was probably. >> tell us Trent Richardson. >> It was probably Trent Richardson when. the Browns traded him to the Colts for a. one and that didn't work out. Now, it. doesn't mean that this wouldn't work out. for a one. I think there's going to be. enough interested teams in Jonathan. Taylor. The question will be whether the. Colts are willing to make a move, but my. guess is no. >> Okay. So, so Jonathan Taylor's not going. to get us a one when we're in this.
running back heavy of uh NFL season. right now. How about Quinton Nelson? Everybody needs a guard. Now, he's he he. he doesn't have we're not getting a one. for any of these guys. Now, Jonathan. Taylor, it was reported that Carly Ers. Gordon views him as a pillar of the. Indianapolis Colts. We did see Jonathan. Taylor's wife talk about the realities. of being in trade discussions as a full. family and everything like that. It's. very real. It's happening. Jonathan. Taylor said, "Everybody's talking about. it. We are." So, if we keep Jonathan. Taylor, we're not able to get a one, are. we just holding on to everybody and then.
going to hire an older coach like Mike. McCarthy with the Pittsburgh Steelers. situation, just kind of try to ride the. same guys that we've had to a different. outcome? Is that the goal? >> You know, by the way, oh, the the the. Panthers when they traded McCaffrey got. back a two, a three, a four, and a five. >> Cool. >> So, that that was quite a lot actually. >> There you go. >> It's a little different. >> Everything but a one. See was banged up. a lot more than Jonathan Taylor. >> One. Yeah. Jonathan Taylor's in the. middle of leading the NFL in touchdowns. if he was getting the ball couple.
>> John when when they traded McAffrey that. was in 2022. He was younger than how how. old is Jonathan Taylor right now? >> 28. >> 27 looked it up. >> Yeah. >> 27. >> He's young. >> Probably about how how old? Well, again, I I felt like the McAffrey was the comp. That was a that was a that was a two, a. three, a four, >> and a five. Nice. >> That's a lot. That's a lot. That's a. lot. So, you know, maybe sub in there a. one. Now, granted, if we can't get a. one, I don't think you move on from.
Jonathan Taylor. Now, on that note, we. haven't been able to win with Jonathan. Taylor. And that's why the general. manager has gotten fired. So, I think. Jonathan Taylor is one of the best. football players on earth. I think he's. phenomenal. I don't think the Colts give. him up for anything other than a one. At. least a one plus something, probably. >> Maybe they do get a one. By the way, like. I'm just thinking the teams that are out. there right now, uh, you know, the teams. that'll talk about this, like Green Bay, Seattle,
Minnesota, Denver, the Giants, like just. teams that potentially could use another. running back. Would they be willing to. give up a one? Any one of them? I don't think Green Bay has their one. >> They don't. They don't. >> Right. There you go, Ty. And Minnesota. probably does. Um. I don't know. You willing to give up. your one for a running back right now. >> to win the bowl? >> This is running back season. This is. running back season. Would definitely.
rather have a franchise quarterback. But. if not now, I don't know when a running. back would be valued more. But if I'm. the Colts and I'm not getting at least a. one, I'm not even thinking about it with. Jonathan Taylor because how good he's. been. But followup, we do need a lot of. pieces if we're going to do a full. rebuild. I mean, we and we don't have a. lot. So, uh, what what a interesting. couple weeks in Indianapolis. Congratulations, uh, to whoever ends up. with these guys cuz how good a football. players they are. But for whatever.
reason, it has not worked in. Indianapolis. Whether it be injury or. whether. >> by the way, Miami fired Chris Greer last. year and then they wound up trading. before the deadline. They traded Jaylen. Phillips to Philadelphia and then they. held on to Jaylen Wadd and traded him in. the offseason once they had a new GM. So, I mean, there's a lot of different. directions this could go. I think once. the names start coming up and there's Ed. Dodge walking in yesterday. I think once. he went Come on, bro.
>> He's getting the job if he's that comfy. >> Come on, bro. >> Paper bag is like. >> I know he's super cool. I wear tank. tops. I dress like an I'm not. the general manager of an NFL team. Okay. So, I understand you're super. cool. I like this guy. Thank you for. showing up, being comfortable, being. cool. You're super cool. I do like it, >> but. I don't like any of it. Got the orange. slices in the in the brown bag though. >> Yep. Bologoney sandwich. >> All right. >> For the boys. >> Gross. >> Guy shows up in sweats the first Was he.
always in sweats? And if he was always. in sweats and he says, "This is just. what I always do." It's like, "Well, what you always do got the guy you work. for fired, so maybe we change it a. little bit." Nonetheless, I I don't. >> I think he had cargo shorts on at. practice the other day. He looks sick. >> I don't mind those either. A lot of At. practice, it's cool. You got pockets. you know, he needs different pens and. graphs and everything. >> Yeah. I I respect that. I just think. showing up at a game, it's your first G. It's a general manager job. It's like I. try to not dress like an for.
Saturday morning television cuz I'm on. Saturday morning television, so let me. at least pay a little bit of respect to. the people. It's like you're an NFL. general manager right now. You dreamed. that. And you say, "You know what? I'm. I'm wearing sweats into the game." I'm. like, "All right, sweet. Better win.". And we lose. So, I I just uh nothing. seemingly goes right for the Colts. whenever they try it at this point. Maybe a a full turnover will help us. Thank you for the info, Shifty. There's. another turnover potentially happening. in Las Vegas. Go ahead, AJ. >> Shifty. Yeah, Fernando Mendoza. Are we.
going to see him thrust into the lineup. there? I know Coach Kubak has kind of. made some comments like what do you. expect there? >> Yeah, well, he did. He left the door. open there, AJ. And they asked him about. it after the game and he acknowledged. that they're going to talk about all. these things and. >> so that's a yes, right? It's always yes. when we hear this, right? It usually. means you're going. >> that's well that's that's the whole. point right when like. >> they asked Shane Stiking yesterday about. Daniel. No, Daniel's our quarterback. They asked Clint Kubak it's like we're. evaluating everything which usually. tells you here's what I would say change. is coming. We just don't know whether.
it's this week, next week, week after. Now this week they play out the Jets, right? So you say, "Well, this is a. great week to do it. They played the. Jets who lost to the Dolphins who hadn't. held a lead at any point in the season. going into that game and then led the. entire game and won the game against the. Jets. So you say, "Well, this should be. a great week to start Fernando Mendoza, but look at the rest of the schedule. after this week." Whoa. At San.
Francisco, home for Seattle, at Denver, at Cle like that is a brutal schedule. I. and I mean I would think just looking at. that you'd want to get to week 13. And. by the way, the Raiders are still three. and four and Kirk has played well. He's. played well. >> Yeah. >> Now look, they may decide it's time to. get the number one pick some reps. What. I've loved is every time there's a team. that drafts a quarterback number one, they all say, almost all of them, we're. not rushing. You know, we're going to.
take our time. And then each of the last. six quarterbacks picked number one up. until this year started the opener. And. so the Raiders have been like, "We're. not going to rush him along. We're not. going to." But then yesterday, Clint. Kubak left open the door. So to me, that. sounded like a guy who's contemplating. change. That change could be as early as. this week. Certainly sounds like it's. coming at some point in the future, and. we'll see when they decide to make the. actual change. Kirk Cousins has been the. perfect example of what Fernando could.
or should become as a starting. quarterback if Fernando can just. utilize, you know, what he was gifted. with by God, uh, which is size, an. incredible mental, uh, capacity, a great. arm, and some toughness, which he. displayed at Indiana. Not that Kirk. doesn't have those things, but Fernando. number one overall pick for a reason. all the intangibles, but Kurt Cousins. talking about what he's supposed to do. day in and day out for Fernando knowing. that it's on its way after a loss in a. hard situation with what Kubak just said. about opening the door. Perfection. Shout out to Kirk Cousins for that.
Let's stick with the Raiders though. before this trade deadline. Tai has a. question for you, Shy. >> Yeah, Shephy, we talked a little bit. before the season started about. everything with Max Crosby when the. trade with the Ravens fell through. If. they do continue to lose here, do you. think there's a chance that some of. these teams who are really trying to be. aggressive and make a push will call and. kind of kick the tires on him? You know, we've heard about the Bears really. wanting to get a piece for their Dline, maybe the Cowboys. Like, do is there a. world where we could see Max Crosby. potentially get moved before the trade. deadline? >> Well, if we're going to play matchmaker.
here today, just play matchmaker and and. again, it takes two to tango to me. >> True. >> Chicago Khalil Mack makes sense. That's. the one that that I I mean, bring them. back to Chicago. >> The Bears right now are a really good. team. Mack has played there. The Dallas. Cowboys, they they got to win some games. here to bring in some talent. If they. could get a win tonight if they could. find a way to win a couple of these. upcoming games before the deadline, Josh. Sweat would make some sense to me in. Arizona, right? Like that that I could.
see that being in play. Um, so Max. Crosby, the issue there is he means so much to. that franchise. He was the one that was. forcing the forcing the issue in the. offseason. He was the one that wanted to. be traded. Initially, the Raiders balked. and then they found two ones and I just. don't think they're getting that back. now. Like he's an unbelievable player. I. don't think they're getting two ones. And so maybe it just makes sense to hold. on to him. Particularly again, they're. three and four. They're three and four. If they could find a way to win the Jets.
game on Sunday, they're four and four. Like you you don't want to. sell off, you know, the heart and soul. of your team, the face of your. franchise. You don't want to do that. Um, and I don't know that anybody would. give up enough to make it happen. So, I. don't rule out anything in this, but. that the trade talks surrounding Max. Crosby to me have lost a little bit of. steam. >> I would love to have Max Crosby on the. Colts. Yeah, we don't have any ones to. give up, but we would certainly love him. on our team. Raiders also found. themselves with potentially their best. setup for the future and their best. player coming back after one day with.
the Baltimore Ravens. Let's pivot over. to Kansas City. Patrick Mahomes and Andy. Reid. They have a running back even. though he didn't have a great game last. night. Do they have the weapons to be. able to go win a Super Bowl? Debbut has. a question for you, Chef. >> Yeah, they've been at Mount Top multiple. times, but a huge lack of production at. the wide receiver position. I believe. only 39 yards last night. Obviously, they have some injuries there. Are they. in the market for a wide receiver in the. trade? You know, they have been calling. around and I don't think it would be a. surprise to see them continue to attempt.
to add a wide receiver before the trade. deadline two weeks from tomorrow. Whether they can get it done, we'll see. I I think the bigger issue last night, we talked about on Get Up this morning, was the offensive tackle position. They. had two new offensive tackles in last. night. Couldn't uh keep the defense away. from Patrick Mahomes. Couldn't mount the. ground game that they have in other. years. And they kind of feed off each. other, right? if the the protection's. coming, then the run game's thriving, and just none of that worked last night. when they didn't reach the red zone a.
single time for the first time in. Patrick Mahomes NFL career. So, I I. think it was just all out of whack. They're still 5- one. They just got beat. last night. It happens with most. everybody but the 72 Dolphins. And I. would think that this team still is a. favorite in the AFC, but I do think that. they'll be calling around on wide. receivers and they will attempt to look. to upgrade that position. >> Okay, let's talk about a team that could. potentially be looking to improve the. future because of where they sit right. now. Conman has a question about one of.
these Monday night team. Yeah, Chef Gy, Philadelphia feels like they're the next. kind of Colts situation type team where. they got money kind of going places, but. also at the same time they they really. are heading down a bad path where they. might be selling everything. Lyn and. Dickerson one of those players that. already came out and kind of said like, "Hey, I don't know if I'm the long-term. option at guard." You got to ask Howie. or coach Sirriani, what is your kind of. thoughts around Philly? Do you think. they will be sellers? They seemingly. would be a team that could ship Kansas.
City to Debb's point. A wide receiver. like Hollywood Brown maybe. What are. your thoughts around Philadelphia? >> I always look at the Eagles general. manager Harry Roseman. They may be. construed as sellers and I'm sure. they're going to be open to making deals. that work for the franchise. But I also. think that if Howie Roseman saw an. opportunity that he wanted, a player he. liked, and it was a good value, he would. never hesitate to move in that direction. and give up picks, even if the season is.
not working out. So, I know the Eagles. are one of these rare teams. I would. never put them in a category of just. sellers ever. Like, they're always going. to be buyers and sellers. They're. usually not sellers and we don't know. that they will be this year, but I could. see them being both. I could see them. trading a player. I could see them. acquiring a player. It all depends on. what's going to upgrade that roster. >> I just put a Mentos in my mouth. It's. really got me in quite a uh Chinese. finger trap. Did you Did you guys know. that these things were this?
>> What happens? >> Oh, they're potent. They're potent. >> Never had one. You drink Coca-Cola with. it still. >> They're super sticky. They're super. sticky. I mean it it's my my teeth in. the back are sticking together. I'm. sorry for battling over here. I just. wanted to a fresh maker. You know what. Mentos is. Uh anything else about. tonight that we need to know between. these two NFC East uh Goliaths who have. one win in the last eight games between. the two of them. >> It sounds like Saquon Barkley has a real. chance to play tracking to play which. would be good news for the Philadelphia.
Eagles. They need to upgrade an offense. that has six six first downs in the. third quarter in six games played. Not. very good, right? They got to find a way. to get that going. They're without. Devonte Smith. That way, that may be a. multi-week absence on Devonte Smith. No. Dvonte, no Dantavian Wick. So, uh, you're going to have to have Darius. Cooper and Mai Lemon step up tonight. along with Dallas Goddard to beat. Dallas. >> You're the man. That's Adam Shfter, ladies and gentlemen.
We're back on. This has become something that's. spectacular. It started as proof that. kicking is not easy. This is a real. pressure moment every single week. >> that I have been waiting for all off. season. And our first contestant is a. man named. >> Bruce Mel. Bruce. >> Big Bruce. >> Big Bruce. >> Home Depot has said they will match. anything that I put on. >> for you for the rest of the season. >> All year. >> Yeah. Usually Usually companies don't do. >> like blank checks. Home Depot said, "We. will match anything you say." So, on.
that note, wow, 500,000 from me, 500,000. from Home Depot. 1 million. to start the season. Bruce, >> shout out Home Depot. >> You got this. >> Shout out Bruce. Now, Bruce. >> Bruce, look around at your people here. Bruce. >> Bruce, THEY WOULD ALL LOVE TO SEE YOU. TAKE HOME one million dollars this. morning. Hey, just uh just so we can up. the energy so it feels like Death Valley.
a little bit. Can we get a uh. >> I thought we said we weren't going to. say that on TV there. >> 1 million. >> Hold on, boo. Hold on.
We got to It's week one. >> Yeah, >> IT'S WEEK ONE. >> HOME DEPOT. >> IT'S week one. You got. >> All right, Bruce. >> We can't set precedent that like if you. stink it goes up. So, it's not going to. go up. But what I will say is 250,000. from me, 250,000 from Home Depot. This. is your last effort. $500,000, Bruce. How do you make it go end over end? >> I don't think now's the time to learn. that.
>> I don't know how. Explode. Explode. through it. Explode through it. >> Hold on, Bruce. Hold on, Bruce. >> Let's take a thought, Bruce. Let's take. a minute. Stanford Steve, do you think. this guy has a chance to make this or. No, Steve. >> I do. >> You find people that have been waiting. through a lightning storm. Do you think. Bruce is going to be able to make this. or no? They have more faith than I do. 1. MILLION BUCKS BACK ON THE LINE, BRUCE. 500,000 from me. 500,000 from Home.
Depot. Good effort, Bruce. Coast is clear for. the first week. Home Depot, I APPRECIATE. YOU SO MUCH JUMPING ON BOARD, BRUCE. Great effort, brother. I appreciate you. signing up to do that. He. was watching the tape and his opinions. were based on the tape and you can't. fault him for that. Okay, >> now he's. >> Dan, didn't you say didn't he say. something about Mike McCarthy being a. terrible hire or something like that? >> Did you say that? >> Absolutely not. >> Yes, you did. >> You know you cannot do that, dude. I. never said that. >> Kind of like that. >> You said it was stale. Stale choice. >> You remember? Do you remember? >> Is that the phrasing I use? The word.
stale? Yeah. He said, "Why are we hiring. this old. >> fact?". >> What? >> You kind of said that. >> I never said that. >> Good coach. >> Good hire. >> Okay. Great hire. It's working out right. now. Who knows how the season will end. Aaron Rogers uh passes Payton Manning. And then also Matthew Stafford now. becomes the all-time leading passer, touchdowns passer for two different. franchises. Absurd what the old guard is. doing. Let's talk about the younger. guard here, shall we? JJ McCarthy. Tell. me about nine and tell me about his New.
York Giants performance cuz you got. Bruce Brown back there who's a Giants. fan. He's saying. >> I don't want to forecast too far in the. future. I am Joe the Nardo fan but we. might have a quarterback controversy in. the New York Giants organization. Dana, what's say you pow after one dub for JJ. with the Giants. >> Best game JJ's played. I think that the. thing that stood out was he just had. very clear reads. You know, like now. that's partly a Houston problem. I don't. I don't know if I've ever seen a unit go. from so dominant to so bad in one year. This is partly a Houston thing, but JJ. McCarthy had a clear understanding of.
like, okay, ball's going there. Okay, ball's going there. And that's why you. saw like one, two, three, ball came out, some of those out routes to fields that. created big plays, obviously the ball. down the sideline to neighbors on. multiple times. So, it was getting to. the line of scrimmage, the defense just. lining up in a very clear coverage of. what they were going to run and JJ. saying, "It's basically recess, my guy. versus your guy. I know where I'm going. with the football." you saw some. sprinkle of athleticism, one climb up in. the pocket. That clip right there was. nice. Um, down in the red zone, they did.
the zone read that allowed for the. touchdown. And then I think the thing. that became even more evident as an. offense was they said to Houston, "We. don't think your secondary can tackle. our backs." And that's kind of how they. end the game with a couple big runs. So, I thought it was a hallmark win for the. Giants and and a clear thing of like, hey, we know who we are as a football. team. And I think they're the only team. in the division that could say that on. both sides of the ball. >> Giants are the leaders of the NFC East, seemingly on their way to hosting a home. playoff game. And don't look now, who's.
leading the AFC North? Connor has a. question for you, Dan. >> Yeah, Dano, that'd be the Cleveland. Browns and Todd Monsen's boys, as you. would say. Uh, what a win for Cleveland. Deshawn Watson, another game-winning. drive. Kind of unbelievable what has. happened to this Browns offense. What. are you seeing from them? Obviously. Fannon uh Conpion and Denzel Boston, two. rookie wide receivers for them who's. been great. Here's Harold Fannon Jr. secondyear tight end who's kind of been. their bellcow. And then Judkins, he has. two rushing touchdowns yesterday for the.
Cleveland Browns as well. What are you. seeing from their offense that makes you. think, you know, this is sustainable. This isn't just uh you know, early. quarter of the season. Cool story. >> Yeah. One, they got the best young. quadruplets in the AFC cuz you mentioned. all four of them. So, the two rookie. receivers, Boston and Conception, are. awesome, and they're different. You. know, Boston's that big frame, your true. kind of like one-on-one outside. receiver. Conception is so special when. it comes to working in the middle of the. field. The way that they use him to get.
the ball or get different touches. So, that's two out of the four. Then, Fannon's a freak, man. That final catch. that he gets to get them into field goal. range is unreal. advantage just sheer. athleticism like to be running that. short and pluck that ball behind you. catch it at the 50 and I think it gets. down to like the 18 yardd line or. something like that yards after the. catch unbelievable play and then Judkin. so the the young quadruplets that they. have are awesome I think the second. thing is this offensive line's a good.
unit like this is a this is a much. improved offensive line since it was or. in comparison to like two or three years. ago and then Monin just this offensive. scheme that he runs, boys, is like a. little bit of like the Baltimore. sprinkling stuff of um Lamar Jackson, some of the design potential gun. quarterback runs, some of the 4x1 with a. little bit of old school of like here. comes the run game at you. And so um. very impressed by them, very impressed. by them. And on a day when their defense. did not have their fast ball and Deshawn.
has played good football and great. football when it matters the most. I I I. I'm so impressed with them being five. and two. Have you ever been to a party. at Deshaawn Watson's house? >> No. >> They're having another. >> I guess they're having another one. I I. saw photos. He's got food trucks outside. of his castle. I mean, they are they are. looking forward to the party. That's. Todd Monkin the head coach going, "Hey, party at Deshawn's house again." They're. doing that. Feels like the team is. rallying behind closed doors. Whenever. all training camp, the conversation was.
divide this team. Who's going to be the. quarterback? Who's going to be the. quarterback? Todd Monkin has done a. phenomenal job of leading him. And. Deshun Watson, I feel like, is a guy. that they're all rallying around on the. field and off the field, which I don't. think any of us could have predicted. >> Yeah, I I'm on the field play-wise, I. think that's probably one of the bigger. surprises through the first half of the. season is Deshawn's played good football. and he's gotten better and better week. by week and week. And it was shocking. because in the preseason it was not. good. And so, and then the press.
conference happens and you know, I was. like, get rid of him. I I I don't I. don't think you should have him on the. team. Let then. >> that and the play that and the play and. then the play has gotten better and. better. And so I said this like you have. to give credit where it's due. Deshawn's. played good football. Even his. interception yesterday is not on him. It's on his rookie receiver Boston. So. um yeah, it's it's obvious that Monin's. got the team playing in the right way. and uh it's no fluke that they're. sitting at the top. >> There's a party at the Shawn's. That's. what it looks like. Uh his wife pieced. helped piece it together, I guess. And.
the Browns are showing up in a huge way. They are married, I believe. I just saw. from that video. Uh I believe that's. what that finger does. >> That's right. >> That is. Congrats to them. Uh that's. unbelievable. But yeah, becoming a. franchise quarterback is not just on the. field, it's also off the field. It's. your relationships you have with. everybody. How do you build everybody. up? Can they trust you? Feels like in. Cleveland, Todd Monkin's done that very. quickly. Now, let's talk about trust. with two teams that we've absolutely. loved but might be a little bit worried.
about. Debbut has a question for you, Dano. >> Yeah, two teams great play call of the. head coaches. The 49ers and the Chiefs. also great quarterbacks. I guess going. forward, my question would be which. offense are you more concerned about? Obviously Mike Evans banged up, so not a. ton of production wide receiver wise, Kansas City for the Niners and then. Kansas City. Okay, I guess that's your. answer. Why? >> Yeah, because I think it was clear last. night if you're going to run into teams. that can minimize your run game, you're. not good enough good enough on the. perimeter to go to where you believe. you're capable of going. And so you.
watched Seattle last night, awesome run. defense, and it's a rare run defense, but awesome run defense. Your your pass. game's not going to beat us. And you saw. now Patrick I thought look unsettled. more than he has in the past. Absolutely. But this isn't a pass game. at the perimeter that Patrick's a bottom. 10 quarterback when throwing to. receivers right now. That and that's not. a Patrick thing. That's a receiver. thing. And if you think of, okay, you. got to play New England, they're going. to do everything they can to stop your. run. Jacksonville, they're going to do. everything they can to stop your run. Cleveland, they're going to do.
everything they can to stop your run. Uh. when you're going to have to go through. those teams, it's very clear that you're. not good enough on the outside to go. kind of make a playoff run. And so that. would be my bigger kind of concern. San. Francisco is going to get healthy, I. believe. And San Francisco, the. takeaways, that was the the big thing. yesterday was just giving the ball away. and taking points off the board. So way. more concerned about Kansas City. >> Okay. Kansas City last night was a big-. time dud against that Seattle Seahawks. defense. We love them. Speaking about. defenses that are dominant. Minnesota.
Vikings, they are undefeated right now, but the offense is historically bad, I. do believe. AJ has a question for you, Dano. >> Yeah. How do you feel about this Vikings. team, Dano? Obviously 6 and0 defense. playing Austin, but is this a. sustainable way for them to continue to. go and make a run in the playoffs? >> Absolutely not. That offense will get. them beat when it matters. There's no. doubt about it. The defense is. absolutely spectacular. >> Excuse me. But this offense. because Kevin O is such a good offensive. coordinator. We think he can win with. anybody. And then we got five touchdowns. in five weeks. It's like one of the.
worst things we've ever seen. >> And then we watched JJ McCarthy. yesterday and we're like. >> wait a minute but John Harbaugh is like. this where instead of winning Kevin. O'Connell. What's going on over there in. Minnesota? Listen, I would tell you when I watch. Minnesota State and I've said this all. season. BEFORE THE GREAT DEPRESSION. >> JEEZ, >> the roaring and this is an offense with. >> Justin Jefferson Addison. >> Hawinson. >> Aaron Jones was good and got hurt. But. like that's. >> Jordan Mason,
>> dude. It's it's shocking. So I've been. saying this for weeks now with this. offense. It ain't good enough. Okay. All. right. And I would tell you one. offensive line pass protection and run. game not good. >> Not awesome. >> So when you don't have that offensive. line to do that, it's hard to kind of. sync plays together to build concepts. off of each other. I think the second. thing is, and this is probably the most. surprising part is there's a lot of. plays when no one's open. I'm just being.
straight up and honest. There's a lot of. plays when guys aren't open. And I would. love to sit here and tell everybody this. is all on Kyler Murray, but there's a. bunch of clips where there's four or. five guys out. They're getting. >> Why would you like to love that? >> Cuz cuz everyone just say everyone. always blames quarterbacks. Okay. And oh. my gosh, Justin Jefferson open. Not. open. >> Um I think there's three or four clips. when there's a miss by the quarterback. Guys are open and he misses the throw. >> Bet you love that. >> Love those ones. >> Yeah, that's what you're looking for. Right now, the best play that Minnesota.
does offensively is Kyler scrambling. >> That's the best play they do. And so, no, there is not a sustainability to. that because if your best play is your. quarterback running, that eventually. will get you beat. >> Well, the Colts defense hasn't been. necessarily world beaters. So, the fact. that the Vikings weren't able to get. going against them, I think does make. you wonder how the rest of the year. goes. But, they get another win. They. remain undefeated. And Brian Flores. continues to be an absolute animal. Now, let's stay in the NFC North because we.
watch a great battle between two of. their Giants. Go ahead, Ty Schmidt for. Dan O. >> Yeah, Dan O. Unfortunately, that Packers. Lions game, the big takeaway today is. just everyone talking about the refs. But after kind of digesting that entire. game, what do you think about both of. those teams kind of moving forward? Looks like the Lions got back on track a. little bit at least with their defense. And as it stands right now, all four NFC. uh North teams are in the playoffs. >> Yeah, Ty, I'll start with Detroit. Four. playoff caliber teams in the division. Absolutely. Three with great offenses, one with a great defense. Uh Detroit one.
quarterback is playing out of his mind. 14 touchdowns, 12 sacks, no. interceptions. Uh there's no quarterback. in football in the play action pass game. playing better than Jared Goff. And. we've gone for a decade and everyone has. said Shawn McVey, Jared Goff, Ben. Johnson, Jared Goff. Maybe Jared Goff's. just a really freaking good quarterback. Okay, so let's put that out there. They're so talented on the perimeter. Everybody knows that. Gibbs is. sensational. their receiver core. Receiving core has been fantastic.
I think the more impressive part was. yesterday with Kelvin Shepard's. defensive performance. I thought it was. the best defensive performance by. Shepard from a call perspective. So many. different calls, corner pressure, quick. pressure, linebacker blitz, different. cover sixes, so quarters to one side, cover two to the other side. Um, and I. think just their guys made plays on the. football down the field more than Green. Bays did. Having Brian Branch back. completely changed this defense.
Completely changed both in the pass and. the run. He's got a couple plays where. he fills the run, which is great. So, um, you know, very intrigued by Detroit. coming off the defensive performance. And then for Green Bay, Tom, I'm with. you. Like, yes, I think two things can. be true. The officiating stinks and it's. costed them two games in some. questionable calls. But catch the. freaking football, man. I'm so tired. >> And make kicks. >> Yeah, I'm in no way blaming that on the. refs either. Like that contributed to. it. But like Pat said, like Trey Smack. has missed seven kicks. I think the stat. that everyone was showing is there's.
been one other kicker who's missed a. field goal uh 35 and in this year. He. missed two yesterday. He makes both. those. They win the game. >> And isn't it uh Ty, don't they lead in. the last two years the NFL in dropped. passes and field goals missed? So. >> yes, and also this year they lead the. NFL in total penalties. They have 65. flags for 546 yards. Let's blame the. officials. Sure. But like you got a. quarterback that is throwing just. throwing the football. Probably as good. as anybody in the league just as far as.
throws. And your team your team leads. the NFL in drops. So how much are we. actually going to blame the officials? Your team leads the NFL in penalties. So. as much as I love them and I can get. high on them like anybody else, >> catch the freaking ball. >> How many yards, Ty? How many yards is. there as penalty? >> Uh 546. It's a lot of yards. And I think. if you calculated Hembo sent me this, there's no quarterback that has lost. more yardage than Jordan Love off drops. So you're talking about Yeah. So you're. talking about two categories that are in.
somewhat controllable elements and no. one is hurting themselves more than. Green Bay. >> I loved how much Tom Brady hated these. roughing the passer calls cuz he's an. owner, okay, of the of a team. So. obviously his voice carries some weight. He's a lead commentator for Fox, so his. voice carries a lot of weight and he's. the greatest of all time and he plays. quarterback. It's just like whenever JJ. Walk got pissed off about a a cut block. during his game. It's like he's Hall of. Famer Dlineman talking about that. Now. you got the greatest quarterback of all. time talking about the roughing the.
passer calls. I think that's how we can. enact some change. These refs though. starting to become a topic of. conversation for some of these things. and that is not good news. I'm about. sick of hearing Jean's territory have to. come on and explain why the hell these. refs are doing what they're doing. I. love Jean. We all would like more of. Gan, but it does feel like the refs are. starting to become a little bit more of. a topic on these overreaction Mondays. than I appreciate, Dan. >> Yeah, and I think we were on this. morning. I there's something like a. record-breaking amount of offensive. penalties have been accepted so far this.
year. I wanted to say it was somewhere. in the 600 range and there's been over a. thousand flags thrown. I know you guys. have done this on the show in the past, but I watch the games right now, honest. to God, and third down comes. >> and if the third down stop happens, I. automatically expect the yellow flag to. pop up for deep defensive pass. interference. Or if the third down. conversion happens, I'm going here there. here comes a holding call and it kind of. dulls those third down moments just as a. fan right now from the viewership. element of like here comes some stupid. flag that is going to be questioned.
>> Agreed. We all think that that's not how. we want to view it. We love watching. ball. >> Well, and third downs, like those big. moments, you're like, "Oh my gosh, third. down. It's a four-point game in the. fourth quarter." And I'm I'm waiting. like, "Okay, here comes a flag that's. going to get thrown. It's going to dull. like the stop or the conversion. >> It's going to completely change the. game." Third and 10, third quarter, three-point game, NFC North battle, and. we'll do this. I guess he could have. stopped, but that's nowhere near big. enough to extend a drive for a team to. potentially change the outcome of a. game, which I think is what everybody is. talking about.
>> Absolutely. It's like by the letter of. the law, he puts his head down. He does. hit him in the sternum. It is a bit. late, but is is that. >> should that be rewarded with a a drive. extender and maybe changing the entire. outcome of a game. Yeah, just need a. little bit more feel there. I like that. Tom is hammering it. Now, the Detroit. Lions, you talk about that Jared Goff. lack of respect. There's a stat that. just dropped about him about the amount. of touchdowns he's thrown without an. interception. 14 right now, which ties. Russell Wilson. And then it's one more. than Drew Brees of 2018. So, these are. the heydays for Russell Wilson and Drew.
Brees. most touchdowns through the first. six games without an interception. Jared. Goff has 14 of them. Nobody's talking. about Jared Goff right now. Jared Goff. gets a huge win over the Packers and the. running back that they have could have. scored another touchdown. He decides to. go down. Jir Gibbs will join us tomorrow. at 12:30. Cannot wait to talk to him. about what this Lions team is. And if. their defense can play like you just. said, like they played yesterday, this. Lions team could be for real down the. stretch, especially with MCDC. He needs. to figure it out though on when to go. for it, when not to go for I like them.
going for it on fourth and one there. >> The one where what about earlier when it. was fourth and five and they could have. kicked the field goal was 1414 game or. 1714 game. Fourth and five they throw it. to JO in the back. >> Oh yeah yeah yeah. This one this one. right here. >> Yeah. This one. >> take the points. >> Yeah. So he Yes. I think the take the. points thing now if you told me well our. defense was playing so well and if we. don't get it we're going to back them. up. But I. >> 174 game. >> Yeah. You make that a two possession. game or at least a touchdown game. Yeah. I agree with that. >> I I think you kicked a field goal there. So this one I think is smart. >> Okay. So you like this one in your own.
end. 1717. >> Yeah. Because 1717 if I don't get it, I'm giving myself a greater chance to. get the ball back rather than if I punt. the football back to you, I may never. see it again or if I do such a short. period of time. So I I think that's a. smart decision as far as like playing. the long game. >> Coach Tomlin said that last night as. well. So I guess we can this like when. you go put up a shot before the play. clock gets to a certain time at the end. of the half. If we get this ball to. Jordan Love, we assume he's going to be. able to get into field goal range to. make a kick with four minutes late.
Yeah, two for one is what it's called. So, I understand how that can be a take. Okay, Trey Smack makes that kick right. there. Everybody's going to say MCDC's a. doofus for doing this. >> Now, kick gets blocked. Great play by. the defense, but MCDC football has bit. him in the ass and has made him who he. is. So, I guess you live by the sword, die by the sword. Foxy, how do you feel. about that huge Lions win yesterday over. the Packers? >> Yeah, that was the biggest win in the. post. Ben Johnson era. That win proves. to me that this team is different than. last year's team. This team can actually.
make the playoffs first and foremost and. contend in the playoffs. I love what. Jared Goff is doing. And a guy that's. not getting any credit that wasn't a. sexy hire in the offseason is Drew. Petting, the offensive coordinator. He. has been awesome. This offense is. awesome. He's got Pennul running routes. That was sweet. And then also, I'm going. to quietly give a shout out to Calvin. Shepard in the defense. They played so. much better coming off. I always say. that. I think I'm saying it right, but I. always say it. And they just played way. better coming off the bye-week, which we.
all needed to see. So, that was awesome. And then last but not least, as a fan, shout out to the refs, man. It's awesome. being on the right side of a bad. officiated game. AS A LIONS FAN, THIS. NEVER HAPPENS to us, especially against. the Green Bay Packers. Shout out to the. refs. That was awesome. That was great. >> Okay. Yeah. Everybody always talks about. the teams that get screwed. That's. normally the Lions. So, shout out to you. guys getting the benefit from the refs. doing their thing. Was that a Skinny. Joey call that you made up there in. Detroit, huh? A little mob talk up there.
with the refs benefiting the Detroit. Lions. Foxy looking a little bit up. >> Perhaps it was a Skinny Joey call. But. if you own a cheese steak, would you. trust a guy named Skinny Joey or would. you want a guy named Fat Joey? That was. my first. >> It was ironic. >> Goti. >> Oh, he's a big boy, I assume. Yeah, they. call them skinny buddies. I had to clear. it up. >> Hey, no, actually skinny Joey I think. pretty skinny. >> Yeah, I don't think you looking at a. picture. I'm looking at a picture of. him. Uh Dana dress like skinny Jolly.
May. >> Do you eat cheese steaks or you weird. about that? Cuz. >> I love cheese steaks. Um down in Philly. I we always go to Delosandro. >> Yeah. >> Best cheese steak in town. Yes, he certainly gets it. We will be having. a lot of those Monday night football. He. >> loves that one. >> Got him. >> How do you How do you do that, man? Just. instantly the the quick. >> He's from Delo.
>> Ty, will you please tell Dano a little. bit about Delo and how the John's. operate around here? >> Well, you know, guys like Well, Dano. would I believe your wife's a Philly. gal, right, Dano? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, exactly. So, you know, these. tourists come in, you know, Seth. freaking I'll tell you where he's going. to be now. He's going to go down Goss. and Pats like all these other rum dums. I tried to tell him, "No, get out of the. city. Get out. Get away from the. link. Go down to Dallas Sandro and get. yourself an actual Philly cheese steak.". Okay. They just make them better up. there. It must be something in the water.
or something. >> Yeah. Water. What about Skinny Joey's. though, Ty? Have you been to Skinny. Joe's yet, Ty? >> Skinny Joey's not bad, you know. Uh, you. don't know what they're putting in. there. I mean, if you like if you like, you know, someone hawking a lugie in. your cheese steak, maybe. Uh, I I'm I'm. a whiz, not wit guy, you know. So, and I. don't know if they do that. I think they. do like the the provolone with the. chopped peppers and the onions and and. that. So, I mean, I I don't know. You. know, I'm not really a skinny Joey's. guy. Like like these like these boys are. saying, if I'm getting the cheese steak,
I want a big sloppy fat guy giving me my. cheese steak, not some skinny bastard. Okay. I don't trust. >> Well, I I trust skinny John down there. and I like him. So, um, the first time I. ever went to Delisandro with my wife, you ever been there? I would assume you. guys have never. >> We've been to Delisandro. >> So, this is probably 15 years ago. I had. >> I had never been there before. >> And so, my wife was like, "Hey, you got. to go in and order for us.". >> Oh, >> I had never done this before in my life.
So, my stupid rear end walks in. >> and I'm standing like in line. You guys. know it's that like that long thin. >> I think. So, >> like um restaurant and I'm standing. there and this lady from the back looks. me dead in the eye. She goes, "What do. you want?". >> And I'm like, she talking to me. She's. like, "What do you want?" And I'm like, "Fudge, dude." So, I go, "Can I get a. cheese steak with American cheese, dude?". >> Yeah. Right. >> This lady wanted to shoot me in the. face. And my wife is just behind me. laughing cuz she totally set me up. And.
she was I was like, "What do I She's. like, "Wiz out." And I'm like, "Ah.". I totally panicked. >> But now you love it. I love it, but I. only get cheese on it. Yes. >> Are you a vet, though? You walk in there. right now, they say, "Hey, it's all. weird looking.". >> No, no, no, no. I don't I don't do the. ordering. I'm not going to handle those. moments best. >> Good idea. >> Yeah. >> Now, you're a quarterback in the NFL. You should handle those moments well. Communication and such. I don't know if. that's something, >> you know, >> you should be able to handle somebody. asking you what type of cheese. >> I honestly haven't been back there in a. couple years, so. >> I haven't had a car been in a while, so.
obviously I wouldn't do that. Dan, you. look fantastic. We appreciate you. You. know who else looked fantastic for one. half of football? >> Bengals. >> Boom. Diggs has a question for you. >> Yeah, they did. Dan, I saw um Burrow's. sack rate right now is 4.2% which you. said is a huge deal. They're protecting. him this season. They looked really. really good in the second half with T. and Jamar and literally every everyone. getting involved. Their schedule was. very very favorable upcoming. How do you. feel about the Bengals right now and. moving forward? Yeah. One, first time in. forever, at least as long as I've been.
in this business, that the Bengals. dominated Baltimore on both sides of the. line of scrimmage. I thought. Cincinnati's offensive line completely. controlled Baltimore's defensive line. And then vice versa, Cincinnati's. defensive line dominated Baltimore's. offensive line and didn't give up any of. the big runs to Derek for the most part. I think the what happened in the second. half, Tone, was they just decided, hey, we're going to put T and Jamar away from. each other. Mhm. >> They're going to double Jamar or lean to. Jamar or rotate to Jamar and T you're. just going to work. Now the second part.
of that is they went at Wiggins big. time. Now Wiggins is a nice player, but. it was very clear that Joe put Tig and. said go to work. And that was really the. what happened in the second half. No. trying to run, no going underneath. center. We're going to be kind of who we. are as much as I hated at times. And it. just they they went to work in in the. pass game. And that's kind of how they. attacked. T and Jamar opposite each. other and then let's go after Wiggins. And the pass game was clinical. And I. think if their lines continue to play.
that way, this is a team that can. absolutely get hot at the right moment. So it was a dominant performance. certainly in the second half out of. Cincinnati. Um and the protection of Joe. is is the difference. I think you know. the fact that he is getting sacked once. out of every 25 dropbacks. Saying that. about Joe Burrow that he's getting. sacked once out of every 25. >> That's a difference maker, man. Total. difference maker. >> Second in the NFL from 30th in the NFL. Let's go ahead and protect that guy. He. could spin it. We paid for the wide. receivers. We just need a quarterback to.
be able to get to him. They were able to. do that in the second half. >> Right tackle, man. The right tackle is. playing. >> dominant football. >> Okay. So, let's talk about the defense. on the Bengals. >> Yeah. >> They hadn't been great. >> since Jesse Bates left town. >> Correct. >> That's years and years ago. He's still. doing it with the Falcons this year. Defense enough for them to be able to. maybe go on a run here? >> I absolutely think so because the. defensive line, so Maf cames comes over. in free agency. He's been great. Obviously, the Dexter trade, he's been. great. Jonathan Allen's been really good. for this defensive line. And then the.
backers, I think, now people don't think. their backers are good players. I think. Knight and Carter really good players. They're athletic. They're sudden. They. find their ways to the football. They. tackle well. And so this is a group that. their front seven's very good. Their. secondary's always been athletic and. they're not needing to dominate as much. I guess because the rush look at the big. >> Can you do that? Can you do that dance? >> Hey. >> Oh yeah. >> Hey. Hey. >> Awesome. >> Pretty good. Nailed it. LOOKS JUST LIKE.
A. >> WOW. >> Hip movement there, Dano. >> I think you you got to move that forward. though. You see? I think you're doing. that forward and backward. >> Carriage house. I remember those. Pretty. good. >> Dang, Dano. I didn't expect that. Huh. Um, >> oh, he said success four times. You know. what I'm saying? Sexy Danny is what they. call. >> pretty good then. >> Yeah, you're right. So, I guess two. times. Two times we're able to do that. entire thing. You You get a little. dance, a little motion. Shout out to the. >> Great athlete, man.
>> Great athlete. Get rid of Trey. Hendrickson. Don't want to pay him. >> Sure. He goes. >> Maf's been great, man. Maf's been great. Even yet, like Murphy made a couple. plays um in some good pass rush. situations. So, I I think their front. seven is the difference. And yeah, it's. it's definitely a defensive unit that's. good enough. >> And Dano, uh, in a couple weeks, we'll. be on Monday Night Football again. Okay. >> Field Pass was a blast. Nobody watched. it. Nobody watched it from my. understanding. >> Uh, but we will be doing it again. >> You're the best. >> Hell yeah. >> I mean, that's what I was told. I I my.
open my ex. I can't read through my. mentions anymore. It's a little bit of a. new life for me. It's a new life. >> It's an aggressive place. >> I've been created on X. I've created. everything for myself on X and Twitter. Now I can't even really go on there. anymore. It's okay. I appreciate it. I. respect it. The tide has certainly. turned for not fun time, but I go on. there trending news, you know. I can at. least see what's trending, right? One of. the trends nobody watched for. So I can't even look I can't even. look at the search, you know? So it's I. had a blast. I thought.
>> we had a blast. I had so many people. come up and be like that. I even went. back to work um on Tuesday and I had. >> 10 people in the building come up and. been like, "Man, you guys were great." I. was like, "Oh, thank you.". >> So, I heard nobody say that. So, thank. you for. >> I had so many people be like, "Loved. it.". >> Nobody. >> Oh, no. I had a bunch of people come up. and be like, "You guys sounded great.". >> Did you really? That's great. You guys. getting. >> That must have been watch. >> Well, I don't know if anybody watched. though. That was kind of the big thing. Just know next Monday we're going to be. doing. >> Are we going to get more people to. watch? >> I don't think so. I think so. We're.
going to have to change some things. We. will certainly adapt and add to it. I. thought we did really well though. I I. think we did okay. Had a blast. >> Which is why, you know, you know, some. sometimes the movies that win all the. awards, nobody watches. And uh. >> That's right. >> Yep. >> I think that's We're just going to view. our fuel pass as super artisty. You. know, we're going to say we're artists. out there. >> It's not about the number of people that. watch. >> something. >> Exactly. Will live on forever. >> Yeah. >> Well, we would like people to maybe. watch it if they have a chance. Uh but. if not, we understand completely. >> What a great game.
>> Yeah. >> Matchup. Yeah, we're going to be there. Got a lot of friends in those games, too. That should be a lot of fun. You. know that uh that should be a blast. there for us. We're thankful for you. Let's talk about tonight's Monday Night. Football game, shall we? Debut has the. last question for you, Dano. >> Yeah, Sean Mayion got his hands full. trying to put together a game plan for. Tana McKe in this uh Philadelphia. offense. If you were in his helmet. calling the plays, what would be the. game plan for tonight for the Eagles? >> Yeah, so getting Dickerson back, at. least we think Landon Dickerson back. tonight is going to be a big deal. Um, I.
don't believe Devonte's playing. So, I I. would heavy up my personnel usage. I'd. get more two and three tight ends on the. field. I would make sure that I'm doing. everything I can to throw on early. downs. I don't necessarily want to get. him into second and obvious, third and. obvious passing situations. And so, I. would be aggressive throwing the. football and just believe that because. this pass rush in Dallas is not great. that we're going to have some time. So, if we like it down the field, great. If. not, let's find Saquon, get the ball out. of our hand. Let's find Dallas got herd. get the ball overhand for some of these.
checkdowns. And then I would say let's. put some pressure on Dallas's offense. that has not played well in the past. couple weeks. But I'd be aggressive on. early downs in my play action pass game. with multiple tight ends on the field. >> Okay, now let's go to the other side. here. Let's talk about Dak Prescott. A. lot of weapons, a lot of potential, a. lot of hope going into this year. He's. got how many four picks in the last two. weeks. Uh they've scored like 20ome. points in the last couple weeks. They. haven't been able to get going. Is that. great defenses they've been playing or. bad offense? What's going on? A lot of. people calling Shotty in a question. His.
prime time record 17 and one or. something like that. Yeah. Yeah. Not. good. Things are not great right now. Really loud about the Cowboys, especially with how great it was. supposed to be coming into the season. How do you fix what they have going on? >> Well, you got to get your star receiver. to play with better effort. I'm going to. start there. George Pickkins. Too good. of a player. Too important of a year. too important of a year to consistently. put some of the. to put the exclamation point behind the. question mark about you. Okay, so that. that's number one. Uh I I think two,
they they've got to get Dak to be more. consistent in their pass game and not be. so reliant on him. Uh specifically down. in the red zone, I think there's a. predictability with what they want to. do. Like they they get in three by one. and they want to throw the ball down the. middle of the field. Every every. defensive player should know that. That's how you get the pick off of last. week. Um, you know, this a good. challenge because Philly's defense is. really starting to play clean. And I. think like I know this sounds to be a. hot take. It's not meant to be a hot. take, honestly. But with where teams are.
sitting in the league right now, if they. come in here tonight and lose, that. drops them to two and five and then they. play I think Arizona next week, that. that. >> that could be a two and six. you're you're starting to look go from. Super Bowl or bus to like trading. players because they have no draft. capital in the future. None. >> And there's a lot of guys on contract. like uh. >> 20 free agents next year. >> Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's a. huge huge for them. They were kind of. going all in. George Pickkins does the. franchise tag which what you're talking.
about the exclamation behind the. question mark. And on the flip side, let's say Dallas Cowboys able to get a. win tonight. A good win tonight. What do. you think that says? Especially with. wide open seemingly. >> it gets them back into the race, right? because the the the division's a little. bit wide open. I still think the Giants. cuz the Giants have an identity and no. one else in the division on both sides. of the ball does. They come in here and. get a win tonight, then I think. Philadelphia becomes a team that you. would become maybe potential sellers and. say, how does the the team or the win. look? You know, does the defense play. significantly improved? Does the offense.
score 35 on the road? I think that goes. a long way to determining like how much. are we buying are do they win 13-10. because Philly's got a bunch of beat up. players on offense and you're like me. really not that impressive of a. performance. >> Do you give a prediction for this game. on NFL Live? >> Um I think we picked the game. Yes. >> Okay. So you don't have to do it right. now, but I would like to get you all the. information you potentially need for. Monday Night Football. For the first. time this season, but certainly going to. be a mainstay going forward. We like to. go boots on the ground since we're live.
here in person. Let's go to our football. environment expert who's currently on. the field here at the link, Parker. Parker, you can you hear us? >> What up, Parker? >> Boys, what's going on there? >> Hey, just one quick question, Parker. As. we sit about uh 6 hours before game. time, how's it feel down there? How's. the field feel? How's the weather feel? >> Weather's great. Feels field feels. great. >> All right. Thank you, Parker. Parker, thank you, Parker. >> That's football environment expert, right? He knows too. He knows.
>> Everything feels great. Yes, he. definitely does. >> He knows big time. He's been on every. single field in America, whether it's. NFL, college, soccer. He knows how. fields are supposed to feel. He's even. been on NBA courts. >> Yeah. So, he's saying he he was at the. Sabbin premiere next to the Sabin. family. I mean, he he was at a movie. premiere last. >> Can we get him on Field Pass? Maybe. >> Well, I didn't even think about us. having a football environment expert. Yeah, that's kind of what he is here as. our field pass for this particular show. He said it feels good. AJ, does that.
change anything for you that the weather. the the football environment expert says. the weather feels good and the field. feels good there? >> It does change a little bit, but I. wonder does this is this good for the. Eagles? Is this good for the Cowboys? Like, who does this. >> Call him back. Call him back. >> Yeah, we need Parker back in line. I'm. not sure who who has advantage now. >> I mean, it changed my football. environment. >> Changed my pick for sure. Can we get a. >> ladies and gentlemen? Our football. environment expert, uh, Parker. Parker, does it feel good? Weather feel good for. Philly or for Dallas?
>> I think it's Dallas WEATHER HERE. >> Changes my pick. >> Changed my good luck walking outside. that stadium today. That's our football. environment for Park. Wow. Change of pick again. Dumpy, what did you learn there from. Parker down on the field, Paul? >> Uh, just phenomenal work there. It is. It does kind of feel like Dallas weather. a bit by the looks of things. >> All right. Uh, feels like Dumpy and.
Parker are riding with the Dallas. Cowboys. We'll find out who you pick on. NFL Live. Anything we missed that you. wanted to talk about? Take a swing at. out of your notebook. >> Uh, don't worry. >> Daniel Jones, why does this guy suck at. football? What the is going on? Hey, listen. I don't like it. >> I don't like it at all. I was all in. >> Yeah, >> cuz every every quarterback sucks versus. Minnesota though. >> Agreed. Okay, agreed. But how about. sucking against every team whenever. >> whenever we signed him to the deal that. we signed him to. Y. >> I think we were kind of put in a. terrible position.
>> Yeah, >> Daniel Jones led us to the number one. record in the league, number one offense. in the league. Harrison Smith still. doing it. Blo, they're undefeated. because of their defense. It's. outrageous. It's mental warfare is what. Kevin Oonnell called it every single. snap. Daniel Jones said we gave him a. $100 million contract. We can get out of. it after June, there is a little bit of. a dead cap situation if we were to move. on completely. But with what we saw from. him the first nine weeks of the season. last year, we thought in Shane Stiken's. offense with what we're able to do, this. guy is having a rebirth, a resurgence,
this is who Daniel Jones is going to be. going forward. We've seen players be ass. at places in the at at first and then. get to a system that's right for him and. have massive amount of success. I would. have believed in anybody who was our. starting quarterback this year because. I'm a Colts fan. I'm a paying season. ticket holder, but I expected us to be. great and we are not at all and it's. been bad. >> Okay, so two things and I these are my. honest thoughts. One, >> thank you. >> I would tell you right now, Rogers and. Pittsburgh looks so good moving and.
we're three years removed from Achilles. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, he there he's moving around. and he looks 35. Daniel obviously. incredibly fresh off the Achilles and he. still does not look to be nearly as. athletic and sudden as he had in the. past. So that's starting point number. one. Starting point number two, when you. go back to the top first nine games last. year, it's a completely different pass. game. No Michael Pitman Jr., no Alec. Pierce. So our number one and number two. pass catchers off last year, those guys.
aren't there. So any quarterback without. those players is going to struggle. Obviously, there's a lot that's going on. with Daniel from that perspective, his. health and then playing against. Minnesota. >> Okay. So, let's talk about the Colts. situation right now. >> If you you put your GM cap on over that. great hair, you got really good hair. today. >> Let's say you put your GM cap on. >> What are you doing? We don't have a one. next year because of S Gardner. Sgardner. not playing yet again. We hope he gets. healthy. We'd like to see Sauce Gardner.
as an Indianapolis Colt full throttle. That'd be great news. Yeah. Like we. signed. What would you do with these? Quent expiring contract to Forest. Buckner. Jonathan Taylor, we paid him. >> All three of those guys, and I'm saying. this respectfully, would be on the trade. block for me if I was Indie. Out of. admiration, Buckner can absolutely go to. a contender. I've said this, if you're. the Chicago Bears, you have to call the. Indianapolis Colts about um DeForest. Buckner. If you're the San Francisco. 49ers, you have to call about Deorest.
Buckner. I think if you're Minnesota or. Denver, you absolutely should call about. Jonathan Taylor. And then teams that are. looking for a guard, I mean, if you're. the Seattle Seahawks whose guards have. really struggled in the run game, Quinton Nelson would be at the top of my. list. And so, I think all three of those. players can go for a very worthy draft. pick at a contending a playoff caliber, super cal Super Bowl caliber team. >> Yeah, cuz we're going to have to rebuild. that. You're Chicago. How do you not. call for Buckner? That one that that.
that is the easiest like connect the. dots for me of all time. >> And everybody in San Francisco wants. Buckner back, too. So, a lot of Buckner. back to San conversations that are. happening. >> Young guys are playing good. But I agree. with that. Yeah. >> No, but there's a lot of teams and and. Buckner, he has been so good for our. team and our community. >> Great player, man. >> Buckner's been out in our community, too, which we appreciate and uh. obviously we love. We've had success. whenever he's been on the field. We. haven't been able to win anything with. him here, which sucks. But you're right. Out of admiration, those guys can go.
elsewhere. Also, we're going to need. some picks for all these guys. Chef, what was that all about, Ty? Chefty's. like, what does Sheffy say? >> He said, Jonathan Taylor, I I don't any. of these guys are going for a one. It's. like, well, then we're not. trading anybody then. How about that? You know, if we're not getting a one, that's the reason why we'd be doing this. whole thing is to get our ones back. >> Yeah, but in classic Sheffy fashion, he. did kind of piggyback it with But. nothing would ever surprise me. They. could go for a one, they could go for a. two, they could go for a five, they. could go for a six. I mean, he was. talking about the Eagles. He said, you. know, I mean, they they're not really. sellers. They might be buyers, but they.
could be sellers, but they might be. buyers, too. >> So, I mean, we'll see. >> You're right, Ty. I forgot about the. dance. >> Always. I got one more question for Dan. Uh, at what point do we consider going. back to Anthony Richardson to see kick. the tires in that? Maybe see if he can. figure out if he's figured out if Dan. Jones keeps playing like he's playing. >> I would play Anthony Richardson as soon. as possible if I was Indie. We gave. Daniel Jones $100 million. >> Okay. So, but that ship is sailed. >> Burn that money. Burn that money. Burn. the boat. >> Burn the boat.
>> It's done. >> Burn the boat. >> Nothing $100 million matters. >> Nothing Daniel does in the next nine. weeks is going to change anything about. Daniel's future. You're either going to. keep him, whoever the decision maker is, or you're going to move on from him. >> Jesus. >> And nothing in the nine weeks is going. to change that. Anthony, at least you. could maybe he you strike lightning and. that it becomes a piece that you can. trade. I But I would play him. >> or keep or play forever. >> For sure. For sure. I'd play him. >> now.
>> But that Shane's, you know, fighting for. his job, so I get that. >> Well, no, that fight's over. >> Ding ding. >> ding ding ding. >> I think he know. >> they rung that bell. >> We're not calling We're not calling for. jobs either. We're very surprised they. both stuck around. Chris Bard gets. fired. We assume that this is only going. to become, you know, one Pavlov's dogs. here. One leads to the next. Uh, who. would you hire though? We bringing John. Gruden in here. >> Oh, >> I mean that that is we're putting the. cart before the. >> Who would you. >> do it hypothetically though? Who would.
you. >> trade everything for Monkin? Who's. >> cart behind a horse? A chicken and an. egg kind of go together. >> Okay. So, the the coordinators right now. that are uh I think Declan Doyle in. Baltimore is very intriguing, but I. think that there's a place close to. Baltimore that would be number one on my. list for Doyle. >> Um, >> he's too young. >> He is too young. >> It's John Gruden. Thanks. >> Would you Yeah, maybe Gruden. Would you. rather be a year early? How about that. dude from UCLA or you think we. >> Bobzy? Yeah,
>> Bob Chesley goes JMU UCLA to the Colts. I'm with it. I'm I'd get excited. >> What about Luke Fickle? He's doing great. in in uh Wisconsin. >> Finally built it. Gave up some of his. contract. Go back to. >> You know who else? >> Matt Patricia. >> Oh, Raheem getting another opportunity. I like that. >> Morris would be a. >> I don't think Matt Patricia. >> Hey, man. He ain't leaving. >> I think he could do it. >> He ain't leaving that 49ers defense for. this. >> No. >> What do you mean? There's only 32 jobs. Think of who else. >> Brian Bablin. >> Oh, Mike Tomlin would be great. Mcder.
would be great. Mcder Mcder and Tomlin. I'll take everything back. Mcderman and. Tomman one two. >> Yeah. Okay. Sweet. Let's assume that. they have other opportunities as well to. Debbut's point. Um and maybe you know. like New York like uh Jets team maybe. cuz Aaron Glenn said our defense is. going to get the ball back for us. It's. like well you you're allowed to call. timeout and them still do that you know. like that's and Aaron Glenn he might. want life as a DC again anyways. I think. that might be something feels like that.
that New York Jets. >> Hey shout out to Jeff Halfley man. And. how about half getting a win for playing. hard? >> How about half. How about this draft class in Miami? >> How about it, Dano? >> Yeah, Gumpy loves how the young guys are. playing well. They're viewing it as like. a red shirt year almost. That's how. Dumpy's viewing it. I don't know about. all Dolphins fans. Them getting a huge. win, obviously gigantic for Halfley, but. for the other side of it, Jets fans are. like, we lose to this team. That that is. really the reaction. >> Jets fans not happy. Greeny like Greeny. not happy. Greeny wants to trade.
everybody. >> Just fire everybody. Trade everybody. fire everybody. >> Yeah, his daughter's done. His. daughter's really done. But hey, Aaron. Glenn, >> we still think you're a good ball coach. We just think some of the things you. said just isn't what a head coach is. supposed to say, >> right? He's not the only one. >> Fell at the combine. >> Oh, he did. >> Yeah, that cool dance down the sidelines. though. >> I love that. And also, this thing is. incredible. He combined for like we love. >> Hold on. Go back to that stat. >> That stat Gary Vaynerchuk bummed out or. what stat are you talking about?
>> Did that say they've been outscored off? Yeah. Final two minutes. >> Yeah. Worst coach of all time. >> Whoa. Whoa. >> By that stat, >> it's a tough freaking. >> How many games has he been? 20. >> Defense wasn't really good in Detroit. either, if we're being fair. >> We need to know this though. >> Jeez. Eric, >> we're being honest. His defense wasn't. great in Detroit. >> It was. Foxy. >> There was a time Lions fans wanted him. fired, but he picked it up and fixed it.
>> They have four stringers in there. sucked. We'll We'll take Aaron Glenn. with the Colts next year as our DC. We. love you, pal. John. is offensive coordinate. No. >> Give Frank another. >> This shows This shows. >> Andrew Lux the GM. >> We need to stop with all this. >> Okay. >> MIKE MALARKEY. >> NO, HE'S NOT GOING TO BE THE HEAD COACH. FOR THE COLTS. >> Malarkey is the coach for the Colts. It's mov.
>> big day with big shreds breaking down. all of the big plays. >> He's next. We hope Shrekes has a better. show than our show. Obviously, we assume. that'll be an easy task. We're in. trouble with the Colts, but there's some. teams that are heading to the Super. Bowl. Overreactions digitally on the. other side. Be a friend. Sometimes might. change your life. Goodbye. Okay, so we're still live, Dana. You. know that. Yeah, >> we don't want to call for Stiken Shaw, but we assume he's no longer going to be. the head. >> No, it's. >> We assume that's not going to happen.
>> Yo, can I ask you guys a question? >> There's a banana deal. Great shot. I. think that went in. >> Okay. Hand to God. True story. Do you. guys know what percent like the word. percent is derived from? >> Percentile. >> Percentage. >> What? >> But from what? Like how. >> Greek. >> how how come it's percent? uh pizzas. because I think. >> okay so Hambo this morning was like Joe. Burrow his sack rate is 4%. And I said. dumb this down for me. Why? Like no.
human is going to hear me say that I'm. going to make them smarter. And he goes. well what do you mean? I said what does. that actually mean? He goes well out of. every 100 dropbacks he's getting sacked. four times. And I said is that really. what it is? Like it's always out of 100. He's like per. >> cent. All right. Okay. Oh, percent. centile. >> Okay. >> Centennial. mark. >> Cent is 100. Yeah. Per 100. >> You're a jackass, dude. >> I knew 1% was out of a 100. Yeah.
>> Yeah. We all knew it was out of 100. Yeah. >> Yeah. I didn't know 50% was out of 100. >> So, what's 50%? >> Holy Wait, what did he say? >> And I didn't know. >> your whole life you've been playing. >> Did you go to school? Did you have a. grade? >> 25% of a game%. sometime. Holy you, >> AJ. You knew you knew per percent was. per cent like cent meaning 100th century. or. >> No, we didn't. I don't think we knew the. word, but we all knew it was out of 100.
>> Yeah. >> Yeah. I always thought like it could be. a. >> 32. >> 88. >> Yeah. Like like two out of three is. Yeah. 66% but if you if you keep going. there is 100 in there. >> Damn. >> Yeah. >> Come on. I was just I did not I did not. know percent. That's why it was broken. down to me that way. >> I love it to you. I love that you can. get on TV and say that now on NFL Live. said you let me break it down to you. this way. Percentage. >> is out of a hundred. Is that what he. said to you? And you said.
>> yeah. one out of every 25. And that's why I. said that before with Joe. That's how. that came about. >> I appreciate you leaving no stone. unturned B. Uh, but. that's tough, dude. That's a tough one. >> Tough. >> That's a tough one. Especially with like. how much you talk about stuff that. revolves around percentages. >> I'm not a big numbers and percentage. person though, unless they make sense to. me. >> And percents. >> are out of 100.
>> Congratulations, dude. >> That's Dan Rolovski there. 100% of the. time that's out of 100. 100% means out. of a hundred. 100 times. Yeah, it was. more percent like that was more of the. doubt. No doubt. Yeah. Yeah, bro. Yeah, bro. You're the best. >> Danowski, >> a baby, Dan. >> 50% of the time, bro. >> He gets it right, >> which means. >> half. Y. >> because. >> So, he gets it. >> Heads out of 100.
>> Wow. >> He had courage to say that on. >> Yeah. Good on him. You're right. >> Yikes. That is a tough thing to say. >> on your way out. >> Sports person. >> Yeah, he could have. Yeah, the last. thing everyone's going to remember. >> Wow. >> He's coming back. He forgot something. Did you leave a percentage here? Oh, yeah. Sport cut. That'd be about half of. that suit, which would be about. >> 50%. >> Every time. Half is 50%. >> Hey, be great to see you, bud.
>> Dan, Dan, have a good day. >> Dan, we appreciate you, dude. really. don't know how you do life and how. you've gotten this far. Proud of you, man. Way to go, dude. You. defied all odds. >> Let's get to a break, dude. That was. tough. >> Yikes. >> I mean, that is. >> Golly. >> What? How do you even. >> One of the dumber things I've ever. heard. >> Did you know. >> he's a hand to god? >> If he would have just said the per. >> Yeah.
>> scent. >> Exactly. >> That would have. >> Yeah. Like the word. >> Yeah. I would have got that as well. >> I thought that's what he assumed. I. thought he was just talking about the. following origin of the word. >> previously with the hund thing. Yeah, that really killed him. >> Jesus. I mean, I don't know what to do. I honestly don't know how this works. anymore, you know, like how. >> Maybe that explains why he's such a. cheapkate, though. He didn't really. understand the numbers. >> That's a good point. >> I'm tipping what percentage of this. thing? >> 20%. >> Give me Give me that back. Give me that. back. >> Out of what?
>> Two 2%. 2% they get. And they're lucky. they're even getting that. >> How does he break? Oh man, how does he. get an AP vote? I mean, what do we even. >> Yeah, >> percentages are a pretty big deal. Like. red zone percentage or down percentage, completion percentage, touchdown. percentage. >> He probably said that cuz Drake May was. better than Stafford in all of those. categories last year. >> Oh, so you think this is like a look. back, see his vote from last year? >> I think I think that's how I took it.
Like, okay, that makes a little more. sense then. >> Hey, I don't know that. percentages are out of 100. I don't want. the They told me to keep it 105. Dude, what do you want? What does that. >> What the fudge does any of this. mean? >> I'm just telling you what my eyes see. Okay. Matthew Stafford, that's what it. looks like. That's what it's supposed. to. >> Matthew Stafford was great today. >> Yeah, the man. Oh, yeah. >> All right. We got overreactions on the. other side. Um, then we head into the.
greatest Monday Night Football game of. two teams that aren't worth a damn right. now. >> Woo! Woo! >> Monday Night Football. Could we have. flexed out of this? Could it could. >> seriously. >> just like the commies next week, right? >> Maybe that's the one I'm thinking of. >> Yeah, they're thinking about moving. Brown Steelers to Sunday Night Football. uh instead of the Sunday Night game. Thank god they did not. >> I wish more networks would do that. >> I wish they would utilize it. I I think. it's just you turn down.
the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia. Eagles fans. >> Yeah. No, >> you think maybe you piss them off. >> Yeah, I get this. >> Piss off the Philadelphia Eagles and. Dallas Cowboys fans, piss off their. franchises, which you have a good. relationship with. I think there's a lot. of the that type of that goes into. the flexing as opposed to us just being. like, "What are we doing? How's this why. is this game?" Because it's not really a. normal procedure to flex out. I wish. they would normalize flex in games if. that makes sense. >> Just got to do it more. >> so that Yeah, exactly. You do it more.
often. The fans and the teams and the. organizations don't get pissed off about. you doing it's just kind of like the. expected move like hey your teams are. ass. We can't have them on prime time. because it's not good for the league as. a whole. It's also not good for your. teams to spotlight how ass you have. been. So that if we would do it more. often, I think it would become more, you. know, accepted for these people. But. since it's very rarely used, whenever. you do it, it's almost more offensive, if that makes sense. >> I think you're right. And it gives teams. uh give them a little chip on their. shoulder, too. Like, oh, they flexed us. out and then all of a sudden your team. goes on a run like.
>> all that. >> The bad fan base is you do not want to. be on prime time. I don't think they. would be mad at all. >> I mean, it's a lot of people traveling. to these games and made these plans that. planned it like eight weeks in advance. Yeah, we're going to go do this Monday. night. Make a trip out of it. Hey, I'm. not going to work. No school. Like. whatever. So like. >> the other networks can like protect some. of the games too. So it's not always the. best one available gets automatically. gets picked. They can say no, we're not. giving that one up. >> Yeah, that's a lot of negotiating. between networks who really like working. with each other from our understanding. Really like it. They enjoy that. There's.
tailgate line outside. RVs parked. I. don't know what street it was. We drove. by. RVs lined up. John's packed out. already when we. >> Yeah. 9:30 am I think when we came over. here 10 am was lined up boom ready to go. our team ain't worth the damn probably. not gonna win a Super Bowl this year but. we got Monday night football game that's. the reason celebrate let's take off work. and let's go ahead and the boys are just. lined up stacked up so I think it's. going to be a Philadelphia environment. but this is one of those ones uh just. like it was mentioned earlier they're.
they're excited to see what this Eagles. team looks like let's make sure it looks. good because if it doesn't we're going. to let Siri know we don't appreciate. what he's doing to our team. >> could be a hostile environment for the. Eagles tonight but also So, they get a. win like this, you get a win over the. Dallas Cowboys like this, this place. could be alive. All right, uh let's get. to a break on the other side. We got our. overreactions and uh wrapping up. everything else happening in the sports. world. We got a World Series today, AJ, uh Tai. >> Yeah, big time. And I'll tell you what, the Brewers uh two great games over the.
weekend, but the Brewers just they they. they look like they could be a team of. destiny. Uh we'll see what happens. tonight, though. >> Okay. And we got WNBA finals. Have they. found a Where are they playing at? Actually, >> they haven't found a place for game six. in Atlanta yet. They did. Okay. Well, game five tonight is in Ball Hollow, though, right? >> Um. >> tied 22 right now. >> I know the next I know game six is going. to be played at 12:30 on Thursday at the. um the State Farm. >> Yeah. 12:30 p.m. >> 12:30 in the afternoon like during the. show.
>> Oh, so they changed the date. >> or just the time? I like that. >> I think just the time. >> to mine. >> Yeah, 12:30 p.m. Yeah, >> figure it out. It's on Thursday. >> The 29th. Whatever the 29th is. >> Today's only 29th. >> Yes. Thursday. Yes. >> Thursday. Okay. I like a little. afternoon meaningful ball. I also like. Tyrese Hallebertton. He's Halib. And he. looks better than ever, doesn't he? He's. trying to Hey, he won't say it publicly, but it feels like he's trying to really.
I think he wants an MV. I think he wants. I think he wants it all. I I I think. Tyrese has been motivated all rehab, all. recovery by a lot of the talk and then. the NBA putting him on the zone against. Pelicans his first. I think that even. fed him even more. Obviously, we saw him. get emotional. He's been balling a. debut. This might be the best Tyrese we. have seen. He said these ABA jerseys, you know, may maybe feel a little bit. like Dr. J and then immediately goes, "Whoa, whoa, whoa. I am not Dr. J. I am. not Dr. J. Please, please do not quote.
me on that." But nonetheless, Tyrese is. throwing it off the backboard to. himself. He's bouncing oops to himself. He's got a double double every single. time he stepped on the floor. Feels like. this might be Tyrese's year. Debb, >> I love everything I'm seeing from. Tyrese, including that little self alley. right there. That's something I've never. seen Tyrese even pre- Achilles for him. to have the confidence to pull that off. in the game. And then I do like I love. the self-awareness like, hey, hey, now. don't quote me on that. Scratch that. And another thing I like too, I don't. know if you saw this clip, how much his. boys are riding for him. Like he's. talking and the boys behind him are.
ready to run. So, I love what I'm seeing. from Tyrese and the Pacers. Now, once. again, got to keep doing it. >> Earn your way to ESPN cuz I'm not I'm. not going over there. But I love seeing. the highlights. >> You got a big clips. >> We're watching a lot of clips. Uh how is. the East doing right now? I know the. Sixers have been winning after doing uh. big losses early. And then the Knicks, how are the Knicks, Bruce? Are the. Knicks okay? >> Uh 0 and three. Certainly a bit of a uh. championship hangover, but um Brunson. said we needed this. We needed some.
negativity. It was too positive. There. was no adversity. So, I'm sure they'll. get it right back on track. But, you. know, I'm I'm used to it. We sucked for. about 50 years until uh Julius Randle. and then eventually Brunson showed up. So, um you know, hopefully they turn it. around. >> First 0 and3 for a title team since. when? >> I think it was 2012, the Dallas. Mavericks. >> And the the Bulls are the only team that. went 0 and3 and then repeated. So, it. has been done, but only once by Michael.
Jordan. >> We'll see if Jaylen Brunson can do that. I believe in him. I think he's an. absolute assassin. But with the Pacers. back, >> everybody needs a lookout. Luca looks. like he's making every shot all year. >> Yeah. >> Is that what he's doing? >> Yes. >> That's the plan, >> basically. >> Yeah. >> Got a Yeah. 52 points. >> Freak. >> Yeah. And he's he's talking his all. over everywhere. Shout out to the NBA. being back. Shout out to MLB. Shout to. WNBA. Shout out to the NHL having. magical action. And obviously Monday. Night Football here. It's a great day to. be a sports fan. It's also a great day.
for overreactions. Be a friend. Tell a. friend some nice might change your life. We're back on the other side. >> When I was a kid, I get this feeling. I called it white buzz. Everything will go white. and I'd start buzzing.
I get the same feeling when I started. playing football. That white buzz would come pouring into. my brain like a river of fire. It's like I'm not me in that moment. It's like my body is invaded by.
something. >> Sounds like a gas. Eight weeks of training. I don't think. we've had enough time.
Jack, you got anything to say to the. team here? >> Oh, man. You guys keep crushing and. firing everybody up. It's bigger than. you guys and you guys are the freaking. best. >> Boom. >> Thank you, Jack. >> That's amazing. >> YES. >> GOD DAMN, I NEEDED THAT. >> I got back to shape because I shaved my. life and I felt like I just throw people.
through walls. Oh. >> What's happening? What the is this? >> We interrupt your regular programming. with breaking news. >> We have reports of a UAP approaching. Indianapolis. They have messaged to. officials they are coming to take over. the world. >> Government agencies have been alerted. that they plan to land and activate.
Earth's Armageddon switch. This is. literally the scariest situation. imaginable. A true doomsday scenario. Please stay calm, seek shelter. immediately, and pray to whatever god or. higher power you believe in. >> Was that. >> what landed here? >> I think Indianapolis. What? So that. can't be. >> We got to go find these. >> Yeah, >> that's what we need to do. >> I think it sounds like something you. should Jack car. >> I don't know. We need to. >> Let's go. Come on. Let's go.
>> I don't know. Let's go. Yeah. What? these pieces of. >> Oh, there it is. That It's. here. It's here. It's the button. Yeah, it is. Oh,
>> hey. Do you have a rifle? >> No. I got something better. I got. something better. >> Jack, I've been saving this. >> What? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> What is this thing? This ask for a. rifle. What is this? >> Yeah. It uh it kills aliens. Yeah. I. bought it online. Deep web. >> That's certainly convenient for us. All. right. Here we go. >> Hey, you be my spotter. Oh my god. It'd. be my honor. Let's go kill these.
mothers. >> Let's do this. >> Where are they? >> I don't know. I think they're coming. Yeah. Looks like they might be coming. from right over here. >> Yeah. Yeah. It looks like I see the. ship. Let's go. They're not. going to get to that button, Jack. >> Nope. They will not get to that button. >> Is that one of them? >> Yeah. Black helmet, car heart, khaki. He's walking right at you. GO AHEAD AND. PEPP. YEP. YEP. YEP. THAT'S IT. JACK. CAR. THAT'S IT. THAT CAR, YOU KILLED. THAT SON OF A.
>> OH, there's another one. He looks the. exact same. A little taller. A little. bit more awkward. >> Little awkward. >> Yeah. Yeah. He's in the same spot, though. Go ahead and get him. Go ahead. AND GET HIM. YEAH, THERE HE IS. GOOD. HIT, JACK. >> TWO DOWN. TWO DOWN. >> TWO DEAD ALIENS. NOT ON OUR WATCH.
OH, he came down backwards. This one's. showing you his back. No respect. >> No respect. Kind of a disrespectful. alien here as he drags his carcass. around. LOOKS DIFFERENT. OH, ALL THREE. OF THEM STACKED UP. JACK CAR SLAYING. ALIENS. OH, there's one more. >> IT'S A BIG ONE. >> OH, HE LOOKS LIKE AN EATER.
>> HE IS AN EATER. >> OH, MAN. >> THIS MUST BE their supreme commander. Look at the size. HE'S LOOKING AT YOU, JACK. HE'S COMING AT YOU, JACK. HE'S. COMING AT US. GET HIS BIG ASS, JACK. BURP. B. THIS GUY'S TRYING TO TAKE DOWN. OUR PLANET. GO THE OUT. THAT'S IT, JACK.
GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM, YOU SACK. OF. >> HEY, good work, dude. >> Amazing. >> That was awesome day. I mean, they were. gonna come in here. I mean, they. just popped up and they just shot him. right in the head. >> I don't know. Good thing we saw that. newscast when we did. >> Well, that's the that's why they do the. live alert. >> I don't know. Did we know that? But.
that's still. >> I feel like that should have been. disclosed when we bought this place. >> The legit. >> Let's go in and talk to the boys. >> Amazing. Let's do it. >> What a life you live, >> man. I'm just glad you had this rifle. and I had those binos. What are the odds. of that? >> I mean, I could see them. >> Good thing I carry those with me. everywhere I go. The big one at the end. really ate some pain. Yeah. I. feel like he stopped somewhere on the. way in. Yes, he did. Yes, he did. >> Are we Are we good?
>> What do you think, boys? Jack. Cars here. If that's not enough reason to buy his. new book, I don't know what is. just saved the earth and nobody would. have known about it if it didn't just so. happen to happen right here with all. these cameras. Thank you, Jack Carr.
Thank you, Jack Carr. >> Thank you, Jack. >> Thank you, Jack. >> Thanks, guys. >> Thank you, guys. Three-time. world saver Jack Carr has done it again. We're all mind blown that a global. attack always seemingly happens when. Jack Carr comes to the Thunderdome, but. boy, we're thankful he's always there to. save us all. On that note, Jack Carr's. new book, Cry Havoc, is available now. It's a Vietnam era thriller and the.
eighth installment of the multiple time. New York Times bestselling series, Terminal List. Hell yeah, Jack Carr. Hell yeah. Hey, let's go. >> This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. on the line with a gorgeous assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers. You pick. >> stutter. Damn it. >> Your friend tell a friend something nice. could change their life.
sports. >> Hello, beautiful people and welcome back. to this magical overreaction Monday, October 26, 2026. Hour three of the. program begins right now. >> FOOTBALL. IS THE GREATEST. Monday Night Football. will be happening here, right behind me. at the link as the Philadelphia Eagles. of the NFC East will host the Dallas. Cowboys, also of the NFC East. Both.
these teams 1 and seven in their last. eight games. Tanner McKe, backup. quarterback, will be starting for the. Philadelphia Eagles against Dak. Prescott, who's been playing like a. backup quarterback for the last few. weeks. Can the Dallas Cowboys get hot? Can the Philadelphia Eagles win one at. home in front of the boys and the. John's? We shall see. 8:00 is when this. game kicks off. 6 pm Eastern Monday. night countdown. Scott Vampelt, Jay. Mack, myself, Jason Kelsey, and Swagu. alongside Michelle Bisner Buck I believe. Steven A. Smith, who was just a couple.
sweets down earlier today doing his. thing, and maybe even Curt Warner. Should be a celebration of the evening. And somebody might win Super Bowl. tickets as they attempt the impossible. A Super Catch to head to the Super Bowl. A Jugs machine will send a punt into the. sky. And some fan who wins a raffle will. have an opportunity to try to catch it. to win two tickets to the Super Bowl. That'll be right here on ESPN. Should be. a packed night as we celebrate ball. The. boys are back in a thunderdome. A man. who's a college football national. champion, Super Bowl champion, RDER Cup.
winner, AJ Hawk is here. >> How you doing, Hako? >> Great. How far away is that that Jugs. machine going to be from this person? >> So, uh, 40 to 50 yards. >> Oh, good luck catching that one. Are. they going you're going to launch it. like legit? >> Yeah, I think Stanford Steve's going to. be on the Jugs. >> I think he's going to be on the Jugs. Former tight end. Obviously, he will. know how to operate the Jugs machine. Jugs machine is a fickle thing. If. you've never done it before, you have to. like you have to stick your hand in a. little bit of a a sketchy situation. And. the ball can either go or it can.
actually fly. I think Stanford Steve. will be on the Jugs machine. Somebody. wore a raffle and then Yeah, I think. it's 40 to 50 yards in the sky. I think. they're going to have pads on too. I. think we got helmet and shoulder pads. >> Yes. >> Um that that was my last understanding. of the. >> to protect their face and they don't. want to get dongked right in the nose. Blood's everywhere. So you got to wear a. helmet, I guess. >> Exactly. But also more realistic. Hey, can he do it through the helmet? Can he. do it with his shoulder pads? Cuz. catching off that thing could beat you. up. We'll see if we can give away some. Super Bowl tickets. 600 p p.m. Eastern.
on Monday Night Countdown. 9-year NFL. vet Darius Jay Butler's back at Thunder. >> So, how many chances do they get to. catch this punt? >> Okay. So, I'm not 100% sure how it's. going to work. This the first one. Uh. we'll certainly go through. I assume. that I assume there'll be a couple. opportunities if I guess. >> Yeah. Hopefully this person will be. happy whenever instead of saying just. two Super Bowl tickets. Um, you know, that's kind of become a thing with. giveaways these days. The toxic tables. here at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt.
Good to see you, lads. How you doing, Ty. Schmidt? >> Doing damn good. Doing damn good. Uh, good to see you as well. And yeah, you. know what? We'll see cuz I mean the the. cash value on two Super Bowl tickets is. absolutely crazy these days. So yeah, hopefully you know, you don't look a. gift horse in the mouth. >> Yeah, it's not a million dollars. I. don't think those two tickets. >> No. No, it's not. >> I don't I don't think it's 3 million. either, though, you know. But that was. an insane weekend. One half of the. hammer died. >> Cowboys AP Tone is there, Tone. Another.
spectacular weekend of college football. as well. We talked a lot about the NFL. College had a hell of a Saturday. following a historic Saturday last week. >> Dude, it's it's insane. It's just more. and more of the same every week. It's. like which one of these top teams is. going to be able to withstand the season. without kicking themselves in the foot. Obviously, you know, Texas and Arch came. out. You heard me. It was perfect. It. was absolutely perfect. Uh. >> Jason Whitten, shout out Monday Night. Football. >> Yeah. Uh obviously Arch came out and.
looked really good at times. There were. still some things that, you know, Arch. did, but they ended up coming away with. a huge win after they tried to give Miss. every single chance in the end to not uh. BYU. You know, you win a huge game and. then you go on the road and they lose to. UCF in do double overtime in an. incredible game. That's been an a story. of the season. Texas Tech, they go on. the road and get their absolute doors. blown off by Cincinnati, that was a huge. one. Um IU and Michigan, one of the.
worst games of all time potentially to. watch, but an incredible game that went. into overtime. Um you know, Josh Hoover. maybe playing through an injury, maybe. not. Huge overtime touchdown to do it. for the Hooers. And now game day is. going to Indiana who and they'll play. Minnesota who got a huge win uh against. Iowa. Iowa playing not Iowa football. turned the ball over a ton of times. Gave Minnesota the win there in that. situation. Yeah, there was a a ton of. games. Miami the number one team in the. country. They took care of business. against Pit. Um you know they have two.
Heisman front runners in that situation. But another great uh weekend of college. football. >> Yeah. Darien Mensah and Malachi Tony. might not be stoppable. Yeah. I mean. they are phenomenal. Malachi Tony has uh. enough points and yards to feed an. entire f uh program and franchise. He's. a stud. He'll block too. He is a legit. problem. Mario Crystal Ball seemingly. has it yet again with a tough nasty. team. They were celebrating a 2001 team. there. There was no way the Miami.
Hurricanes were going to lose that game. They certainly pound the Pit Panthers. And then game you left out, Utah beats. Houston. Utah remains undefeated. Houston has their second loss of the. season as the Big 12 remains pretty wide. open. Big 12 might be better than the. Big 10 right now, AJ. Nobody wants to. talk about it, but the Big 12 has a. bunch of quarterbacks that are good at. football. Now, do they have a good. enough defense to be able to win games. in a college football playoff against a. Big 10 team in the trenches or an SEC. team in the trenches? We shall see. Are. their defenses good enough? Certainly.
looked like it a couple different times, especially for Morgan Scall's defense. But that's going to be the knock on the. Big 12. Texas Tech has that great year. last year, then they get to the playoff, doesn't work out. This team, these teams. now in the Big 12 look good. They get to. the college football playoff. Will it. work out? I think yes. It feels. different out there. And Utah remains. undefeated. They got a damn good. football team, AJ. >> Yeah, it does feel different. I mean, honestly, right now, especially in. college football, I mean, I feel like. this college and the NFL, we don't know. Like, you really do not know week to. week. I feel like it's anybody's game at.
any point. There's so so much parody as. we hear that word thrown around all the. time. But in college sports, it's real. Like, I. >> Who's get who was going to guess. Cincinnati's going to blow out Texas. week this weekend? Like, I just don't uh. I don't know. Like I said before, it's. tough to tough to predict these things, but I think week to week, we don't know. what teams are yet, really. Yeah, we. have no idea. Shout out to Lenor Sers. He's playing football good again. I I. didn't know that was going to be. happening. Shout out to South Carolina. Cocktober happening for real. Tennessee. gets another huge go. I mean I mean.
there's six to seven teams six to seven. teams down there in the SEC that could. win a national championship, you'd. think, or not even make the playoff. >> Same thing with the Big 10. There's like. is UCLA, Northwestern, are they for. real? Is Indiana going to continue to. go? We assume Ohio State, they get a. huge win over Indiana. Now they have a. brand new quarterback. It's like there's. so many question marks all over the. place and the Big 12. >> quietly really good, bro. They got a lot. of good winning teams. They got a good. winning teams. ACC, Miami is always.
going to be dominant. We will assume. that'll be the case for uh until further. notice. And then Notre Dame, what are. they going to be when it's all said and. done? I uh I've really enjoyed this. college football season. Did not enjoy. University of Utah. >> Did not enjoy. I think everybody came. out a thousand. Yeah, it can't all be. great. >> Yeah, you're right. I I guess that is. true. You know why I didn't like it. mostly? >> Right before I go out there, okay, right. before I go out there, I see the. University of Utah's Instagram page,
okay? The un the universities, this is. this is our un This is how we are. They. put out a do impression of Pat McAfee. and one kid goes, "Ah, he's corny.". Another kid calls me creepy. Okay, if. these kids would have done this on their. own blogs, all good. I mean, everybody's. taking shots of me anyways for. everything. I get it. If the the two. ladies that were hosting that put that. out on their own blog, I'd be okay with. it. Hey, you you're allowed to do what. you the university puts that out. I like. as I'm about to go out and do an. infomercial for the place. And then I'm.
walking in front of thousands of these. people. This is how the university feels. about it. That's an uncomfortable. feeling. I'm like, this is, you know, I'm get I'm getting a lot of shrapnel. from a lot of places. The university is. putting this out. That is that that's. something I just had never experienced. really in my entire life. So I it it. kind of set me off a little bit. It made. me feel a little bit weird. I would say. made me feel a little bit weird. And. then I thought to myself, has anything. like really scary happened at like a. college gathering in the state of Utah. recently? Like do we think we should be.
amplifying reasons for why people hate. my guts as a university? I don't know. So it was just it was a lot of mixed. feelings for me going out there. And. then obviously the kicker goes only $1. million money. Only $1 million. It's. like all right. I hate this place. I I. hate this place. They got a good. football team though. They got a good. football team. But I've never been more. uncomfortable honestly in my life. walking in front of a group of people. after watching their university put out. a post basically dogging me just moments. before. I saw a lot of people say they.
didn't even say anything that bad. It. was like it's the university putting. that out. It's not like a blog. It's the. actual place that we're at. So, I I I'll. hopefully never go to that place. I. think I have uh co or something whenever. game day goes back if I'm still a part. of game day. But I I uh I did not enjoy. the morning there, but they do have an. incredible student section from my. understanding. And they have a good. football team. So, I uh I'm pretty. impressed. Just didn't like the. university taking a shot of me. AJ, every New York Times, do what you got to. do. I guess I guess you kill me. All the.
sports media tabloids people, they quote. me out of context. They build a. narrative about me. But you got people. that really hate my guts out there. Like. really hate my guts. And I understand. it. I guess this is just a part of what. life is. Especially because I have a lot. of things that are very hateable about. me. Uh I could certainly understand. that. But the university gaslighting. some of it right before I go out there. to talk about your school, especially. with what happened 40 mi south of Salt. Lake City a little over a year ago. It's. like I I didn't I didn't I I did not. enjoy that. I I I was very very.
uncomfortable. I was just very very. uncomfortable. So, I think it made me uh. not have the greatest morning, but it. was a phenomenal game day. Thank you to. everybody that showed up. Obviously, Dolan King did a great job. He picked. you. You have to beat BYU only one. He. called Malachi Tony with multiple. touchdowns. They did that. He called. Utah getting a huge win over Houston. They did that. He's big. He's strong. The Buffalo Bills are good. So, there's. a lot of good. Morgan Scally. I think. he's probably good guy and good coach. I. like what they're doing on the football. field, but I just. >> I didn't appreciate the university.
amplifying like that. >> Who has control of that account? You. think like who is that? Like who within. the university? >> I don't know. I don't I don't know. I. don't really I haven't really looked. into it or thought about it. I just. thought to myself, "Oh, this place. You don't like me?" All right. >> You started I mean, still you started. out the show with a bang, though. I. mean, like that was. >> I walked up to that set. I walked up to. that set and uh you know I was I was in. a I I think I hate this place. I think I. hate this place. And Herby's like,
"What? Why?". >> Like right before you guys went on air, you're saying, >> "Yeah, I saw this like moments before we. go up there." I'm like, "The Is this. from the University of Utah?" We're. like, "Yeah, let me check. Is that the. actual university's account?" Yeah. >> Okay. You could have edited out a couple. of those things, you know? I don't think. you needed to go with those two things, did you? Unless you wanted to Okay, you. don't like me. Got it. So, it was just. weird. It was just a weird thing. It was. just a weird thing. And but their. football team, good at football. Really,
really good at football. But I couldn't. wait to get the hell out of there. I. couldn't wait to get the hell out of. there. See you. Goodbye. I'm out of. here. Shout out to the Utah Jazz. They. win their season home opener. Uh, beautiful stadium, beautiful arena. They. redid that in, you know, to make it more. uh mammothable. So they they fix their. seats. So they build an arena for. basketball for the Jazz. Ryan Smith does. builds this arena for the Utah Jazz. >> Perfect for basketball. Then he gets. offered to buy the Phoenix Coyotes NHL.
team. I think he had been in. conversations with the NHL about. possible expansion. We would love to do. that. We'd like to do that. Then the. Coyotes become available and he gets a. call from the NHL. It's like, "Hey, do. you want the Phoenix Coyotes? Need an. answer like pretty quick here." And he's. like, "Sure, let's do it. I have an. arena, I guess." picks up their entire. franchise, even the front office workers. and uh you know, equipment managers, you. name it. Picks them up, moves them into. Utah, buys a mall so they can house. them, and then he has to redo this arena. that he just built four years ago to.
make it much more hockey conducive. It's. like, it's special stuff. What's going. on out Ryan Smith is so good at what he. does. I have so much respect for him. And he got me back, boys. He got me back. pretty good. >> at that BYU game uh or college game day. where Spider-Man was out there kicking. I told Ryan the night before that if he. comes out to the kick and I see him, there's a chance there's a chance that. I'm going to have to do what I have to. do. And uh you know, I offered up a. million of his bucks, a million of. Sweeny's bucks. Then he invites us to.
the game, home opener. Would love to. have you. Come have a blast. Gives us a. bunch of merch. Puts us on the court. Little know, hey, second quarter, guess. what? We got a million-dollar donation. coming. This will be fun from Pat. McAfee. I had no idea that was coming. Cameron goes to me immediately. I just. start laughing. I'm like, Ryan, genius. This is a genius play. And then they. follow up with, "Oh yeah, it'll be Tony. Fen now trying to make a 15t putt into a. hole. Double the size." Double the size. It was a nice little cut. Tony Fen comes.
up from behind me, by the way. I had no. idea that he was doing this. He walks, he slides in here. Okay. Yeah, I'll pay. it. Yep. No problem, Ryan. Hilarious. Hilarious. Okay. Hey, how's this going. to work? They're going to pick a random. person. Gumpy sitting courtside at the. Jazz game loving his life. And she says, "It's not just a putt. Not just a random. fan." Actually, do we have Oh, Tony Fen. now is actually going to do this. And he. brought his own putter. The guy brought. his own putter. I find out afterwards he. sent somebody home to go get his putter. because he didn't want to use the. gimmick one. Double the size hole. Obviously, Phenile is going to make.
that. Very thankful that Ryan Smith. operates that way and lucky to be a part. of the evening. But yeah, it's a million. bucks. I had no idea that was happening, you know. So whenever it's uh I only. offered a million and not 3 million. If. this was swimming, I'd be able to do. better. It's like, okay. All right. >> You would have kicked your ass and flown. >> or killed you. >> That's it. >> Can you imagine if you would have raced. in the pool or in a lake somewhere? >> Boys, bro. >> Boys, >> your ear, you know, you got that eard. drum thing. >> I don't think my head would have to go.
underwater, but. >> Okay. But I am not like a great swimmer. She might have the technique in the. form. >> Yeah. >> But I feel just with the amount of mass. that I take up, you know, and my ability. to move water. >> Okay. I can't float. I can't do the. little sit there and float thing. I got. a fat ass. I will drop to the bottom of. water. I'm the only human that maybe. can't float. They put me in the what's. that thing called? Tone. You want this. with your. >> Oh, the salt the Yeah, the salt the.
floating deprivation tank. >> No, the floatarium or something is what. it's called. It's an air Chicago. It's like so much. salt you can just It's awesome. >> Oh yeah. Fall. >> It's the Dead Sea allegedly. The amount. of salt that it has in there. It's. called the floatarium is what it's. called. >> Okay. >> I sink in it. >> I sink right to the bottom. I I. can't float. Like I'm not a big water. guy. I can't float. But if I was racing. somebody for a million dollars, especially a Miss Morgan boring, I think.
uh I think I'd win that. I think I would. figure out a way to win that. You know. what I mean? I would figure out a way to. win that even if I got a the hole in my. eardrum still. Nonetheless, excited to. never go back to that university. But I. do love the state of Utah still and had. an absolute blast. If it wasn't from the. university as a count, I wouldn't have. taken so much offense. Everybody's. murdering me these days. Calling me. corny and creepy. I mean, every you name. it. Everything. I mean, I've been called. a lot worse actually by a lot bigger. publications. I just didn't like the.
university doing it. AJ, I just didn't. like. >> I get it. Yeah. I mean, especially if. you. >> not a lot of people get it. >> The timing, too, though. I think the. timing if you saw it right before you go. on air and you have all these Yes. Thousands and thousands of people out. there, I can understand you Yeah. being. a bit weird mentally going out to that. show. >> Oh, you don't like me here, huh? Okay. Well, I only know one way. You don't like me? I don't like. you either. How about 60 Minutes reached. out? >> Really? >> They they want to do a piece. Yeah. The.
right. >> Oh, that'd be awesome. sitting down like. in one room like face to face like that. would be dark room with light like a a. spotlight right on you. >> Yeah, I'm sure that'd be fair. I'm sure. they would I'm sure that would be I'm. sure that'd be a-ok. Okay. I'm sure that. would go great. I would just like to let. all media publications I decline. forever. >> Okay. >> Thank you. Cuz I've read what all of you. have had to say and uh I really question. whether or not I I should be allowed to. do anything after reading it. But I'm. just going to continue for forging the.
river of sports. And hopefully one day. looking back on all this, we will have. done something worth living. And that's. literally where I've had to find myself. after a lot of deep thoughts with. everybody murdering my every move. Now, let's talk about murder a little bit. Let's talk about overreacting. Let's. talk about going crazy. Let's talk about. sports being the greatest because fans. can buy in and fans can certainly sell. I put out a tweet this morning saying, "Hey, I can't wait to hear what you're. thinking after an incredible week seven.
NFL Sunday slate." All you got to use is. the hashtag. overreact. >> We got a lot of good ones. A we're at. that time of year where a lot of people. are seeing the trains go off the track. and a lot of teams are potentially. seeing Lombardi in their future. Let's. go around the office a little bit. This. one's from Debb #. I don't want to. overreact. >> Brian Flores should be the odds on. favorite for coach of the year. what. he's doing with this defense is 90% of. the reason they are the lone undefeated. team left in the NFL at 6 and0 hash.
skull debut I don't think you're. overreacting here at all brother. >> yeah you know what I don't think so. either and look I know there is an. assistant coach of the year award and. the coach of the year is typically for. head coaches but I don't know if the. rule book says an assistant coach can't. win this award you look at some of the. things this defense is doing it's. unbelievable we saw the graphic up there. with being a six and0 team with the. offense and it was teams from 1920s. 1930s So, what they're doing right now, I'm going to write it off a couple stats. through six games. 12.3 points per game.
They're allowing 252 yards per game. KOC. said mental warfare only allowed three. points across their six games total in. the fourth quarter. So, that's just. unbelievable what they're doing. And. that's why they're sitting at 6 and 0. right now. All because of well, 90%. because of B flow and that defense. >> Yeah, that 10% you're talking about is. the offense and also Will Reich their. kicker. phenomenal year thus far. Offense, we assume we'll get it figured. out, AJ. We think. >> Yeah, I mean, it doesn't sound like Dano.
is super um you know, confident that. they will get it figured out, but I. would assume they're going to play. they're going to become more explosive. and put up more points offensively as. the season goes. >> They would have to. They're historically. bad. Let's go to Bruce Brown. # I don't. want to overreact, but. 10 and a half point dogs, Don Edmonds, Burns, and Javon Holland pull up to a. hot Houston team and outgain them by 183. yards. Finish it off by running the ball. right down their throat. JJ McCarthy. with some of the best throws you'll see.
all season and zero mistakes. Driver. seat of the NFC East. Harball is the. most impactful hire this century and the. Giants might win the Super Bowl. Bruce. Brown not overreacting at all, brother. greatest hire of the century. I love. that. >> Might be overreacting a little bit, but. it. It's the bye-week, by the way. We're 42 and one. We're We're in the. driver's seat, like I said. And I just. want to give a special shout out to. Germaine Aluminor. He said a few years. ago, I think I'm the best right tackle. in the league. Everyone kind of clowned. him yesterday. He pulls up, banged up,
questionable, didn't know if he was. going to play late into the week, and. just erases Will Anderson uh from from. the game completely. So, shout out to. him. Um, and shout out to JJ and uh, you. know, all all all the boys. Um, keeping. it rolling, man. It's been uh, it's been. awesome. >> You're allowed to overreact all you. want. How about that other team in New. York? >> Let's go to the next overreaction, shall. we? Next one comes from Chris Goldz. # I. don't want to overreact, but. >> no matter the expectations, the Carolina.
Panthers will always make me want to. take a bath with my toaster. >> True. The special glove Baker was wearing may. as well been an oven mitt with the hot. meatball subs Bryce was throwing. The. season is chucking over. Chris, good for. you, buddy. Good for you, Chris. That. was bad. That was bad, bad, bad. Baker. only threw for 68 yards. Didn't matter. Bucky goes absolutely crazy. Carolina. Panthers get absolutely cooked. This is. a team that we've been saying, Tai, is a. good football team. Didn't look like it. on Sunday. >> Yeah. No, they looked like a dog. football team yesterday, unfortunately.
But hey, you know what? That's this is. kind of what happened last year with the. genesis and the birth of a good football. team. A couple weeks in a row we're. saying, "Hey, this team absolutely. stinks. This is a team that, you know, could be a staple of the Shite division. Listen, hey, you know, uh they they they. got to got to get it right. They got a. game on Thursday, so not a whole lot of. time to kind of wallow and want to take. a uh a bath with a toaster. They got to. get back on the horse. I'm sure they. will.". >> Yeah. And, you know, modern toasters. might be waterproof, too. So, we don't.
know what he's probably fig. >> I'm sorry to cut you off. I'm sorry to. cut you off, but they probably did. figure that out to where it's not like. the most dangerous situation ever like. it used to be. >> Yeah. Like they put up nets at high. buildings. Uh I think they've made. toasters, not necessarily react though. We don't We shouldn't be trying that. Like no one should try it, but they're. probably better. >> No, but we appreciate that society has. tried to take care of that problem a. little bit, you know, because obviously. immediate regret from old buddy. Unless. the Panthers continue to play like ass.
We shall see. Chris, we appreciate your. overreaction. Let's go to the next one. This one's from Max Trabolsi. Uh, wolf. of Wall Street photo. # I don't want to. overreact, but Big Mike McCarthy iced. that ankle and went over to France to. conduct business. Aaron Rogers was. throwing Molotov cocktails around the. field like he was protesting. Jaylen. Warren is unstoppable. And Darnell's new. nickname may be the Eiffel Tower. Oh, and guess what? We get to beat up on. some brownies to riddle out any jet lag. Next week, Pittsburgh's going to the.
Super Bowl. Here we go. We got Mike. Ice. in his foot. >> Here we go. >> We're going to Ferris, late as a boy. >> Here we go. >> We got there two days before the game. and Aaron Rogers said that was a damn. shame. There we go. >> Okay, so Aaron said he didn't like that. you guys didn't go over there earlier. Big Mike said we had a plan. You guys.
win. Who cares? Tone, how do the. Steelers fans actually feel? Is it what. old buddy just said there? >> Yeah, it it is. I mean, everything was. awesome. I mean, they they gave up a lot. of yards and third third downs to Tyler. Shuck, which was a bit frustrating, but. I think that was part of the game plan. They only gave up 18 yards rushing on. the ground. The Dline has been playing. unbelievable. They got to Shuck, too. TJ. played unbelievable. had that bad. reverse call. And then the offensive. line and the rushing and Jaylen Warren. is unbelievable. Jaylen Warren is fourth. in the league uh in all purpose yards.
and he has 40 less touches than Bejon. and Gibbs in that category. He's gone. over 125 scrimmage yards. Um or he has. the most games this year with 125 plus. scrimmage yards. He's been unbelievable. and the old line has been great. Yeah, we feel really really good and they did. the exact same thing last year when they. went to Ireland, the exact same travel. schedule. So it worked last year and. they won. So I what? Aaron, this isn't. vacation. This is football, okay? We're. here to win a football game, not go see. the Eiffel Tower. >> Aaron's iced out on the way home. We. appreciate that. He had just gotten.
past, you know, the European border. there. He's still a lot of trip left. I. wonder how iced out he was. If you look. up at the plane on the screen up there, love the connection of this team. I like. that they showed up peaky blinders. AJ, I I I think Aaron, old school football. player, loves those types of things. I. think he feels obligated to teach these. younger guys like, "Hey, you're allowed. to do this. This is what you're supposed. to do. Every team he's been a part of, there's been a lot of this type of. Hasn't there been, AJ? >> Always. Yeah. He always had a thing with. the quarterback room. They would dress. up leading in in Green Bay when we'd. have this like uh I'm sure you guys did.
in Indianapolis. Uh it's not a Boosters. thing, but it's like what you do in. college. You have you have lunch with. the Boosters, a big lunchon before our. last preseason game. Every year the. quarterbacks would have their own They. were the only group, too. No, we just. dressed normal and the quarterbacks had. their own themed situation. So, he's. he's big on that. And also I I was. laughing in my head thinking of Big Mike. on the flight over probably wearing a. compression wrap on his ankle and them. telling him making him get up every once. in a while and walk around, hey Mike, make sure you pump your ankle a little. bit and like just seeing how annoyed he. probably got with the trainers coming up.
to him every like 40 minutes and making. him move his ankle around. I bet was. just a sight to see. >> I would like to play what Aaron said. afterwards. Uh we saw the video from the. Pony Express Andrew Filipony Pittsburgh. media radio guy. Um he t he he clipped. what Aaron said afterwards talking about. the international games as a whole and. where he stands. Pretty enlightening. stuff and once again Aaron Rogers holds. no punches. AJ. >> didn't really a whole lot until the.
second CBA and there was talk about. doing a week an international week where. you had games in 16 different places and. you just added an extra by week. Um so. you'd play 16 regular season you have. two by weeks. One of those weeks would. been an international week. I think it'. been phenomenal for the game now that. the owners wanted to push for 17 games. uh for the uh you know extra revenue and. because uh they care so much about. player safety. But um it would have been. nice. I think there's 16 opportunities. I mean you could do obviously in Canada, you could do in Mexico. There's been.
games in Brazil. You could probably open. up another country in South America. Um. obviously there's a lot of opportunities. in Europe. You know Ireland fantastic. France, Spain, Germany, multiple games. in England. Um, and then who knows, you. know, obviously there's uh, you know, Dubai and that area has really got into. the sporting world in a number of, uh, of ways. You got into boxing and UFC, I. think, was there yesterday, I believe. So, I think there's great opportunities. for expansion in those things. because. it'd be awesome to see them u you know.
have an international week because I. think it's great for the game and the. expansion of the game and and I wish. there was a mandate though from the. league and they would have to open up. their pocketbooks too which you know. maybe a little tight on on money and. stuff but um. >> I think they should mandate every team. coming over Sunday or Monday to really. enjoy the the culture and the the place. you're going and um you can do events in. those cities and and outreach stuff in. community work and but they won't.
because they're a little tight. >> I love it. >> Everything has a little condescending. backhand in there. But a lot of. information and I think he does love the. the opportunity to showcase our sport to. others. I appreciate that from him, especially one of our greats of all. time. And uh I like that he's not a. shrink the game guy like Tone Diggs is. AJ Hawk. >> Yeah, he's kind of the opposite of Tone. Diggs. He's saying like we need to open. this up and do this. We know Aaron's a. huge he loves to travel the world and. see, you know, expand his horizons, all.
that. So, yeah, why not? He loves. football. He wants to bring that to the. masses. I wonder what other kind of. countries we could get to that we. haven't gotten. >> And I'm only a shrink the game guy. because I agree with everything Aaron. just said. They're not they're not. growing the game for the right reasons. It's not for the love of the sport. It's. for their pocket books only. >> Okay. >> Okay. All right. You So, your. quarterback says it and you just remind. yourself, well, you know what? I. actually agree with them. >> Yeah. I got my marching orders and I. will follow them till to to my death. >> Okay. >> Until they start losing some games. Exactly. >> Exactly. Yes. >> That is his death. It was really nice.
It was awesome not having to wait all. day to watch them play. I will say it. was awesome. >> I love the 9:30 games. But I love having. 9:30 games. >> Especially when it's your team and then. you can just relax and watch red zone. the rest of the day. That was really. nice yesterday. >> Now if you win early, good. Those games. have been bangers recent like the last. few weeks. Those games have been. bangers. You lose that game that early. It's tough. It's tough. >> Just want to let you know. So, winning. that game certainly nice by one:00, but. losing that one, you have to just sit. there all day and wallow and are we. going to fire everybody? When are we are.
we doing that? What's the deal here. while other teams are playing? It was a. good setup. I thought 1:00 manageable to. watch all the games. 4:00 manageable to. watch all the games. Had a little. overtime carryover there. And then prime. time game, Chiefs weren't able to do a. damn thing, but Seahawks defense made it. worth watching. I I uh I love yesterday. Let's get to the next overreaction. This. one's from Patrick at CFO Patrick. He's. a chief football officer wherever he is. # I don't want to overreact but. that. I'm overreacting. >> Good start. >> Colts are straight up poop soup, dude.
Ed Dods better have a mandate of trading. everyone up to ain't including the water. boy. The next GM is going to need a. barrel of draft picks and Jesus on his. side to fix this mess. # Daniel Jones. Oh no, Debbot. Oh no, Debbot. >> I like the name. And look, it it's hard. to disagree with him at this point. And. then we had Sheffy on earlier. He's. saying we can't get a first round pick. for anybody. So, I mean, we're. for the forese.
got to figure out the quarterback spot. And uh we don't have it right now. But. yeah, this was this was tough. I'm I'm. I'm with old boy. I'm with the CFO right. there. >> Down six, one time out. Throw a pick on. your own half to Harrison Smith who's. been doing it for a hundred years. Just. tough ending. I don't think it's #. Daniel Jones. I just think it's a little. early in the recovery, old Jones. And uh. I don't love what we're doing at all. And guy showed up in sweatpants. >> Um. >> as somebody who wore a tank top on TV.
for years and years and years, somebody. that dresses out of place a lot of the. uh a lot of the times, >> I just think sweats to game day is the. first time GM. It just. >> the brown during. >> the brown bag accessory and the shirt. hanging out the bottom didn't help. either. >> He didn't know he'd be on camera. >> Cool watch. >> It's a huge walk there in Minnesota. If. you all remember, you got to walk. >> like Houston, you go in on the opposite. side. You got to walk the entire length. of the stadium. It's kind of a part of. their game. I think Minnesota is the.
same. You got to walk two miles to get. to your locker room and everybody's. going to see you. You better walk the. entire length of the field with your. bags on turf. And we're gonna have. cameras the entire way. Somebody should. have given him a heads up like, "Hey, you're gonna be a model here." Yeah. While you're walking through, they're. gonna get a lot of shots first time GM. He says, "I don't care. I'm doing me.". And I like that. Maybe Ed dodge is the. right guy because he doesn't um conform. Let's go to the next one. Or maybe not. at all. Groanish Gambino at dopeit. That. is dope. # I don't want to overreact.
But. >> I never thought I would hear the word. The refs gave the Lions the win in my. lifetime. Entitlement Town and their. fans are in shambles right now. Hash one. pride. Foxy Groanish Gambino sounds a. lot like you with a shot at tie. Entitlement Town. I like that. Absolutely love what Groish Gambino's. got going on. My takeaway from the game. wasn't that Jared Goff is awesome. 14. touchdowns, zero interceptions on the. season. It wasn't that Jir Gibbs had. over 150 total yards or that Aman Ross.
St. Brown also had over 150 total yards. or that JMO had two touchdowns or that. the defense is back. My takeaway from. the game was that the refs were finally. on our side against any team, let alone. the Green Bay Packers. That was awesome. That had me smiling all day today. I. love when you can just take a win like. that because we've taken so many losses. in the past that we blame the refs on. So, you got to enjoy these ones. >> Yeah, you certainly do. Ty, I've never. heard entitlement town. Is that normal.
up there? >> Oh, yeah. he that a decent amount. especially from teams within the. division but uh I didn't love that. everyone you know and this morning. especially like that that was the the. only thing is hey you know the refs. robbed us and yeah they were horseshit. they were bad in a lot of aspects but. again you know it you can't be missing. two kicks within 35 yards you just can't. do it you can't have a bunch of. penalties it is groundhog's day the same. thing happens over and over and you know. Matt Laflur said post game hey we're. going to stick with Trey Mack you know. we uh he'll he'll work his way out out.
of this. I don't know if he will. Uh. he's missed seven kicks already. We're. not even to Halloween yet. And you're. going to need a kicker uh who can make. kicks, especially chip shots. There. might be, who knows? There might be some. local kid down at like a high school. there in Green Bay that could step in. and uh make a couple of those. I just it. this has got bad news written all over. it, and I don't love it. >> I don't want to add insult to injury, but the game day kicks are supposed to. be 33 yards, so. >> they look a lot shorter sometimes. >> They do. Yeah, they certainly do. Shout.
out to, you know, whoever's setting that. up for game day trying to, you know, get. some more. >> We need to walk jersey number. >> Um, smack a tough spot. >> Never seen a good kicker. >> Smack. >> what? 28. >> Never seen a good kid wear 28 or with. his jersey untucked with the shirt. hanging out like DB. It's just too much. going on for a kicker. >> Seven miss kicks is crazy. >> 10 doors for Christ's sake. >> Get in line. >> That'll help Connor. You look. >> Mason had a bad game up there. He did. Yeah. Like a really really.
>> Yeah. Late in his career, he had a. little a weird slide for a couple games, didn't he? Yeah. But that was about it. >> But I think Detroit had like five misses. or something like I I don't want to say. a weird number, but it felt like. >> No, it was it was like he missed like. Yeah. four or five field goals, I think. Yep. >> That ball gets blocked and tipped, which. I think we should give credit to. But. Trey Smack missing a lot of kicks. He's. going to have to start making them, especially if they're going to give him. another shot. He's about one miss away, I think, from going into the kicker. carousel. and maybe another spot will be. good for him to restart. It's hard to. tell if a guy's going to be good in the.
NFL or not. Different ball, different. situation, different settings. For some. reason, some guys are great in college, not great in the NFL until they find the. right spot. Maybe the right spot is next. week. Let's go to Mikey Paige here. Michael Paige # I don't want to. overreact, but. >> it's time we embrace the brand new. Bronze. >> The same team that used to find a way to. lose now finds a way to win. Casey. Conception is the truth. Fannon is a. dog. And the Toddfather has it rolling.
right now. Pittsburgh, you're on the. clock. Whoa. AJ, Cleveland Browns. Now, Kings of the Castle in the AFC North. Tone. The Browns might not just be the. same old shitty Brownies. I I mean, Todd. Mon said it. Browns are going to Browns. that. They haven't since then. This. might be the brand new Browns cuz it. might be BNB. oi oi oi oi. >> BNB the brand new Browns coming to town. How do you feel about it Ton is the AFC.
North might have a new king and that's. Todd Monen. >> Todd Monen has been great for the boys. because in years past they would have. lost every single one of these games. Uh. Deshawn has been making really really. good throws on the final drive of the. game to get them into wins. It was Jerry. Judy a few weeks ago. It was the one the. fan in this week right here that we're. watching right here. They're making all. of their kicks. They are playing really. well, especially away from um away from. Cleveland where yes, they normally play. great defense and they'll get wins. there, but they're playing great away. Um but we'll see. You know, it's still. very very early in the season. They.
still have plenty of time to turn back. into the pumpkin because it's about this. time every single year that they would. do that situation if they were any good. >> Okay, so the Browns are going to. continue to be great. We think uh same. old Schmidt for them this year is. another kick goes through and they get a. dub. They're the number one team in the. AFC North. Let's go to the next. overreaction. This one's from Ben. Johnson at Benny Boy. # I don't want to. overreact, but the Chiefs have seen a. ghost. Seahawks look like the Bucks from. the Super Bowl and expose the same dom.
problems we always have. Horrible O. line, horrible pat, horrible kicking. did not like that Bucker was short from. 58 last night. Lake groupy hit like a 60. yard in Seattle. Bucker has a huge leg. Short from 58. Even um Sunday Night. Football put three points on the board. because it looked like it was down the. middle. Nobody expected Bucker to be. short. Missing kicks. Oh, line's a. problem. Horrible Pat. They're saying. Dut. Is that fair? Is this an. overreaction here? >> I mean, I think it's fair. The Bucker.
thing is wild. You know, rarely do we. see him miss multiple kicks in the game. Super Bowl winning uh kicker. That was. shocking. The offensive line stuff, I. mean, look, I expect Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and the boys to figure it out. and be better down the stretch. I expect. them to get healthy at wide receiver or. maybe even get some help at wide. receiver and things look better. But I. think they got a wakeup call. Sometimes, you know, you say, "Hey, it's a good. thing that a team catches a loss at this. point in the season. They were, you. know, 5-0 coming into this game, maybe. feeling a little better than they had. been playing." Got punched in the mouth.
by the Seattle Seahawks, who are the. defending champs. Huge win for Seattle. and also a wakeup call for Kansas City. >> Uh con man Chiefs five and one. Is the. Chiefs still the Chiefs or are we bummed. out after what we seen last night? >> I mean they started hot, so that's all. you can really kind of look to. I think. the Seahawks are going to make basically. every single quarterback they play look. like this. They're going to shut down. teams typically. I mean, even when they. played the 49ers, we talked about the. 49ers being one of the best offenses in. the league. Their offense struggled. against this Seattle defense. after uh.
the 49ers defense just stepped up and. scored a couple times for him. But no, I. wouldn't be too worried. This is just. one of those things where they got to. get healthy. They got no weapons and. unfortunately right now where with where. Kelsey is as far as age goes, he just. can't be the number one target as far as. the passing game. So once Rashid Rice. comes back, they probably make a move at. the deadline at a receiver. I I would. feel pretty good if I'm a Kansas City. fan still. >> All right. Incredible news to hear from. Con man. I still believe the Chiefs is. still the Chiefs, but I love that.
Seahawks team last night and Sam Darnold. gave a postgame interview. Didn't smile. one time. Looked like he was fighting. every single word. He understands that. they have to keep up with a defensive. championship. And JSN is a magician. This guy is a magician. I have. no idea how he's able to catch some of. these balls. Sam Darnold puts him in a. bucket for him. But this guy's. unguardable. 130 yards in the first half. or something like that with one touchd. What. >> how how do we not guard this? >> Yeah. What is it? it I mean he's a guy. he can move around he can play in the. slot he can play outside sometimes you.
line him up in the back field so. regardless of where he's going to be. he's going to make plays and there were. times where the Chief said hey we're. going to match up our good guy on your. good guy one-on-one bad decision because. JS is going to win that you know time in. and time out year to year it's an. argument about who's the best at what. position I think he's separated himself. from wide receivers I think he's a. clear-cut number one you got Jamar Chase. you got Jefferson in that conversation. but he just does everything good he's. faster than you think He's stronger than. you think and he creates space in these.
uh short windows, man. He's he's just. unbelievable. But the thing about it, you know, they're throwing the ball. I. think he has like 50% of their targets. in the pass game and he's still. productive week in and week out on pace. to break Calvin Johnson's record. He's. just unbelievable. And Sam Darn is doing. a good job putting in the bucket. And I. think Flurry's doing a good job calling. as well. >> 50%. What's that mean? >> That means if they're throwing the ball. 10 times, he's getting five of them. Or. 20, he's going to get 10 of them. or 40. He's going to get 20 of them. So, >> what about 100? >> 50.
>> Oh, okay. Got Dan had to know that. He. had to understand. >> No, he did not know that. >> So, when he heard like 20%, what like. what did he think? >> # I don't want to overreact. >> But. >> Dan had no clue. Dan had no. idea. Can you imagine the last. >> What's that? >> Can you imagine Hembo when Dan asked him. that? Like he What do you What do you. mean? >> Are you serious? People are. going to hear that and be like, "Huh?". >> Hembo, >> "Give me something I can work with.". >> Hembo has fed Orlovski numbers, stats,
percentages for what, five, six years. now. Every day. >> feeding them. Boom, boom, boom. Hey, to. your point, Daniel, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. We. put them up on a screen, Hembo stats. Every stat we get from Hembo, we put. them up on a screen to say like, "Hey, these are coming from Hembo." Everybody. else on ESPN gets all these stats from. me, uh, Hembo, and they just kind of. shoot them out. Think about Dan hearing. these stats, not even computing what a. what a percentage means. Just going, I. like the way that sounds. yeah. 75%. I like that. Let's go ahead roll.
with that. That's what Dan's been doing. He's going to be an absolute weapon. going forward now that he has a little. bit of an understanding of what. >> What about school? What about his kid. comes home? Hey, I I got a 60% on this. test. Oh, congratulations. Great job. Good. >> You could have got a 20. You got 60. >> Unbelievable. How many is this out of? 70 60 out of 70. That's not bad. The. guy's unbelievable. Dan, we love you. You're the best. Let's go to the last. one here. This one's from Tyler Wessle.
at ratboy63. # I don't want to overreact, but. where were these Buccaneers these last. six weeks? I haven't seen a defense that. filthy since the 2002 Super Bowl team. Colliac and VA look like shades of. Booger McFarland and Warren Sap. It's. about time they all bowled out. # We are. the crew. five sacks, a pick, a force. fumble, and a touchdown from the. defensive side of the Tampa Bay. Buccaneers. If you have a quarterback. that only throws for 68 yards in Baker. Mayfield, and you dominate the other.
team, that means your defense was taking. over that game. The Bucks defense. certainly did that. Is this what we. should expect from them going forward. with Todd BS AJ Hawk? >> I mean, I think we should expect. somewhat of an improved defense. I don't. know if you can put this performance out. there every single Sunday. how they took. the ball away. They scored on defense. They scored a what a they got a. two-point conversion that they converted. for points. Like I don't know if they. could do this every week, but this this. can go a long way for real because. imagine when you couple that a defensive. performance like that with some. offensive production, which they didn't.
really need to. They ran the ball very. well, but imagine when Baker starts get. going, his thumb starts to feel even. better. Maybe things are looking up for. these Bucks. >> Ty, how'd we feel about the glove that. they got for Bake? >> Absolutely sick. The thumb was was. really, really big. Uh, which I didn't. know how that would feel, but I mean, hey, listen, you go to the Tampa Bay. Rays who are in the World Series right. now, albeit, you know, they're not doing. the best, but I I would trust, you know, that equipment staff with my life. And. it kind of it doesn't really look like a. receiver glove. It looks like a batting. glove, which I like, which kind of gives.
Bake an extra flare. Uh, hard to miss. him out there. And I I think Bake felt. very protected cuz on one of the, you. know, very very first plays of the game, it was a little RPO. He took that some. himself. never even thought about. handing it off and dove right into the. fray. Uh wasn't worried about his thumb. or his body at all. And you know, he. only he only had a couple completions, but it looked like he was spinning it. pretty good. So, I mean, job well done. to the Tampa Bay Rays equipment staff. Uh that might be that that they might be.
sending that glove to Canton when Tampa. Bay turns this thing around and. potentially goes to the Super Bowl, >> especially if the Rays win the World. Series. I I mean, there's a lot of magic. possible here with the two teams in. Tampa coming together. What a confidence. boost for your team if your quarterback. doesn't even have to throw for 70 yards. for you guys to crush a division rival. in the Carolina Panthers. Congrats to. the Bucks. And I'll tell you what, an. overreaction Monday we've had here. And. there's only one way to wrap it up. And. I don't know if you saw this get. delivered in there, boys. Uh Skinny Joey.
has. >> delivered mush. right here on the top. I think they have. a a little bit of an ad for their. podcast, The Skinny with Joey Merino and. Lil Snuff. >> Okay, nice. >> Lil Little Snuff. You open this thing. up. >> You open this up. Guess what's in there? Newspaper articles about Skinny Joey. >> That's awesome. >> Forget about it. >> What a touch. >> Forget about it. Potential mob. >> Skinny Joey. Potential mob boss is. familiar AC face. Atlantic City. Then.
jury acquits Merino of threatening. detective raider. That's awesome. Does that come with. everyone? Different different article. >> Different article. >> That's a good touch. >> That's great. Great marketing. >> How do you get in there? >> Let's open up the Let's open up the. Philly Times here. Yeah, Skinny Joey. could get wherever he needs to get. >> Big dome. cuz he got acquitted. Thank you very. much. >> But murder. >> He's the best guy around.
>> Shout Skinny Joey looks delight. I mean, it looks delicious. >> Wow. Toasted to perfection. >> I know. Does that sound. >> I'm going to go get some I'm going to go. get some ketchup for sure. I'll take one. bite here just to let people know that I. will dabble. >> Get one. Where's the best one I get. around here, Tom? >> Uh they don't exist in Indiana now. >> All right. Pop belly. >> All right. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Pop belly actually has a great cheese. steak. Firehouse. >> Firehouse Subs does too. >> Yeah. Alen pouring. Penn Station here. >> Oh yeah. Yeah. >> Uh Penn Station has a good cheese. Penn.
Station does have a good cheese steak. Tight little roll in there. >> Yep. Yeah. Any national chain, but. you're not going to. >> Jersey Mike. >> Something actually has a phenomenal. cheese steak. They do. >> Ghost Kitchen Mobile Truck. >> They have a really good Philly cheese. steak. >> We love the Ghost Kitchen Mobile truck. Thank you for coming through the. Thunderdome. Uh Deshawn Watson might. book him at his next party to be clear. >> Mhm. >> But I'm going to say it. Joe Merino's. got damn good cheese steak. Joe, >> I mean, what else would you say? You're.
not going to say it stinks. >> It's a good point. >> Got to wear it earlier. >> Um, >> here's here's a photo of Joey. >> Here's a here's a photo of Joey Skinny. Joey Merino arriving at his mother's. house in South Philadelphia. this afternoon after his release from. Allenwood Federal Prison. Nice. He's. showing up right here. >> That's awesome. >> He's a good businessman. >> Up city. >> Send him to Whiz Mush. >> How about I'm not going to get into. this. There's a lot of headlines in.
here. Skinny Joey, now a budding painter, just. wants to talk about art. Okay, >> Skinny Joey's lived a lot of lives. His. cheese steak life is certainly. delicious. We appreciate him. Shout out. to Philadelphia and uh tonight should be. awesome. 6 o'clock Eastern. >> He did not threaten that judge, right? That's what the newspaper said. >> Picked up paint in the can. >> Oh yeah. right here. Jury acquits Merino.
of threatening detective. >> Okay. >> In court yesterday, Judge Jerome B. Smandal had instructed those in the. audience of the fourth floor courtroom. not to respond to the verdict. So, several rows of mob hierarchy wise guys. and family members smiled and embraced. but made little commotion. Merino's. wife, Deborah, who testified on behalf. of her husband, smiled as well and. hugged a friend as Merino was acquitted. of any threatening activity.
They got it all wrong. They as got it. all wrong. I'll tell you what, he got it. all right here with this cheese. Um, >> if you are, I guess, coast to coast. available, there's a couple states that. don't have the trading availability at. DraftKings, the best sports book and. predictive market on earth. Uh, if you. spend five bucks, you get 200 bucks in. bonus rewards uh, paid over 21 days. Scan the thing. If you only if you agree. to trade or gamble responsibly. We don't. need you being an You're not. going to win. Nothing is predictable. right now. But it is nice to have a.
little scratch, a little bit of chedda, a little bit of investment on a game. As. we do that, let's make our picks for. this evening. AJ, you've been seeing it. very, very well. Debbut, who do you. like? How do you like it tonight, pal? >> Uh, it seems too obvious to go with. Dallas even after Parker said it. So, I'm actually going to go with Philly to. cover. What is it? Four and a half now. >> Yeah. >> All right. Yep. >> Eagles plus four and a half. >> Me Philly plus four and a half. >> at home in front of this environment. Saquan Barkley supposed to be back. AJ, you've been seeing it very, very well. this year. Who do you like? How do you. like it?
>> Uh, I am going to trust my instincts on. this one. Give me the Cowboys on the. road minus four and a half. I think they. win by seven or more. >> Okay, I'll make my pick on Monday Night. Countdown, but with what AJ's been doing. in picks, we should listen to him. And. that is going to change how I feel about. this game mightily. You're the man, AJ, from me and Gumpy out here in uh Philly. Gumpy, anything you say here? >> Uh, let's have a great Monday night. football. Great over reaction Monday, everybody. Beautiful out here. Fly. Eagles. How. >> do you feel about that last.
fly eagles fly guys on that field? >> He's like a coach. He's he's radioing. into the the linebacker, the defense. >> Yeah, it's broadcast booth, AJ. >> I know. It's awesome. What do you think. about Parker's read of the field, Dumpy? You've been looking at it all day. You. think the field looks good? >> The grass does look phenomenal. It. really does. They've been they've been. putting in work over the last few hours. here. It looks great. >> We appreciate the John's doing that. We. appreciate the hospitality. Thank you to. the crew that set this up in this room. Thank you to the Eagles for allowing us. in here. And Monday Night Countdown, 600. p. p.m. Eastern. Let's start the party.
of Monday Night Football as we wrap up. week seven of the NFL season. Boys in. the Thunderdome. Good work. I'll see you. guys tomorrow. >> Sounds good. Safe travels. >> Can't wait to get back home. It's been a. long journey here. Hey, >> that mosquito bowl movie. >> Mhm. >> It's looks sick. >> Sick trailers. >> Yeah, >> I think it's really good. I I I think. it's a really good movie. >> That's what he do. >> I think. >> Peter Berg is a weapon. He's an. incredible talent. His crew around him, Alex Ezra, everybody from his editing. crew, there was a name of the production.
company came up. I should have. remembered that uh cuz I got a chance to. work with them. all the boys. I mean, it. was great seeing Tom and Ray and Scars. Guard and, you know, just getting a. chance to be around Gson who who I've. been following along with uh on the. internet. I didn't know he was such a. massive ordeal. Uh I mean, it was just. Yeah, it was really cool to be there. It. was really cool to experience. And I. think the movie is really good. I think. from my understanding, I think the movie. is really good. After watching it, I had.
tears. I cried at the end. Um, yeah. I I. think we'll talk to Peter Bberg. tomorrow, but I I think Mosquito Bowl is. going to be good. I I I think it's going. to do good. And what an honor it is to. be a part of it. It just an absolute. honor. I'm very very thankful. I'm very. very pumped to see how people feel about. it. And uh yeah, we had a blast. Thank. you for the invite to everybody that had. us there. Samantha got to get dressed. up, do a red carpet. That's cool. First. Sergeant Dartland got a chance to see. everybody. It was like a reunion. You. know, two weeks in Australia felt like.
we were together for so long and then we. don't see each other at all and then we. get to see each other again. It was. cool. It was uh I'm honored to be a part. of that film and the boys crushed it. Absolutely crushed it. I I I think it's. going to be worthy of the watch. 2 hours. and 4 minutes, AJ. It's not too long. It's pretty perfect, actually. >> Perfect time, especially in the theater. And you said October 30th will be the. first time it's available for the. general public, right? In the theater. >> Yes, October 30th in theater and then uh. Netflix November 25th. So, it's got a. long haul on in the theaters, which I. think is abnormal, right, Ty? Isn't that.
kind of an abnormal thing for a Netflix. movie? >> Yeah, big time. Especially if it is if. it does go to the theater, usually like. 2 weeks after that, a very, very limited. run mostly in like, you know, it'd be in. like New York, LA, big cities, but it. looks like this one uh you know, I mean, obviously, if you're giving themselves. at least a month or longer, it's going. to be in more theaters pro presumably. for more people to see it. So yeah, this. is this is is not the common place, not. the norm for movies that are uh produced. by Netflix. >> All right. Well, it's an honor to be a. part of. I think you boys will enjoy it.
And uh thank you boys for all the. assistance, you know, in this entire. process. Actually, I don't know much. about movies. I don't know much about. acting. I don't know much about what I'm. supposed to expect. I don't know much. about what comes when in this entire. world. Ty, you've been a massive. resource for me. I appreciate the hell. out of you, buddy. >> Absolutely, man. And I'm I'm very. excited to uh to you know be able to see. it. And it is cool you know kind of just. being like obviously I'm not involved. but I kind of feel like I have been you. know in the process a little bit with. you here. Um so it's it's been awesome.
I can't wait for it to come out. Can't. wait to see it. >> Running some lines you know you know. running lines as I'm back in. >> They got some Hey, they got some zoom in. shots of my face where I am pissed. I am. not happy with who I'm yelling at. I. mean that there's one of them. I mean. there's a lot of those. That Chinese. theater screen hu Ty, you would know. better than me. I guess that screen is. gigantic. That's why they do everything.
there. Is that right? >> Yeah. Absolutely massive. I I I can't I. mean now with new theaters coming up, but at at one point I think that was. like one of if not the biggest uh. theater screen in the United States, but. I know they they changed the name to the. TCL Theater. It's not tech. I mean, it's. still the Chinese theater, but TCL must. have bought them out. But yeah, that. that's what it's known for, you know, like I mean, the the laundry list of. like massive massive movie premieres. that have been there is is crazy. So, pretty special that you got to do that. Yeah. A lot of them. Yeah.
>> AJ, you like war movies? >> Yes. And especially when I was seen the. trailer for Mosquito Bowl, like I got. some a little bit of uh like Saving. Private Ryan vibes when they're storming. the beaches. like you feel like it's. that I didn't know what to expect but I. felt some of that early on like okay. yeah sign me up. It is definitely a. war movie, but I think it's also like a. hey, we shouldn't be doing war movie, you know? I think there there's a couple. of those messages in there as well. Like, hey, this is reality of what war.
is and what it has been. I think Peter. Berg has taken a lot of pride in that. All the people that are shooting it, like the battle scenes are, man, I mean, it is, it takes you there. It feels like you're in the middle of. it. It's obviously very scary. And then. there's moments where the boys are. having camaraderie. It it's I think it's. really well done. I I my first time. seeing it was at that and and I bowled. my eyes out. I was so proud to be a part. of it and uh yeah, it's cool It's. cool Okay, let's get out of here. We'll be back tomorrow. Monday night.
countdowns tonight. AJ, you're the man. Safe travels back to Columbus. >> Yes, sir. Appreciate it. >> Hey, short flight here. This is great, man. >> Yeah, there you go. >> Good for you being I'm leaving. Yeah, >> California, chief. >> Crazy crazy run. >> Oh, yeah. There's been a lot of West. Coast, bro. It's been a lot of West. Coast. That's so far away. So far away. But everywhere we've been has been. beautiful and we've been very thankful. for all the hospitality except for one. place. All right, I'll see you guys. I'll see you guys tomorrow. Let's have a. great Monday Night Football. I.
appreciate and love you all. If it. wasn't for all of. >> you, >> we wouldn't be able to do this. We're so. incredibly thankful. Thank. >> you. That's about all. Be a friend. Tell a. friend something nice. My change your. life. We're going to sing together. Team. on me. Team on three. Monday Night. Football, baby. 1 2 3. >> Goodbye.
