All right. [laughter]. >> [music]. [music].
[music]. [laughter]. >> for real. Oh no. [screaming and groaning]. Let's go.
>> [ __ ]. State of Obama.
in Berkeley, California. >> You got it. It's.
one for three. AJ Hawk, $5,000. Heat. Heat. Hey, hey, [music].
hey. [music]. You make me want to put my hands up. My. hands up all again now. [music]. >> [music]. [music].
>> USA. USA. USA.
Come on in. Oh my god. >> [music]. >> a. [music]. Heat. Heat. N.
[music]. >> [cheering]. [music].
>> The following program is a collection of. students talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic, informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss, or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans is the real. world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further.
>> Hey, what? >> Let's go. >> This show sticks. And the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. you. >> McAfee on the line with a gorgeous. assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers, you. stop. >> Damn it. >> Be a friend. Tell a friend something. nice could change their life. Hello beautiful people and welcome to.
our humble abode. The draft kings. thunderdome on this feelgood [music]. Friday July 17th 2026. This program. begins now. >> Sports are the absolute greatest and. we're so incredibly lucky that we get a. chance to chat about them every single. day. This morning has been crazy here at. the Thunderdome and that's because magic. is happening everywhere. And not only do. we have a major taking place overseas. where wo wo wo, don't look now, low. scores coming in. Is that because the.
weather is the way it is? Is it because. the wind's not as bad as it is? Is it. because the boys are used to the heat? Is it because the course is running for. them? Is it because they've mastered. golf potentially? But we've had some. low, low scores this morning. Will that. continue to continue throughout the. weekend? We shall see. We also have a. lot of magic happening around football. Don't look now. First teams, first. players have reported for training camp. >> Now we go. >> Seahawks rookies in the building. Good. luck to them. Obviously enjoying their.
off season now into a full football. season. Remember the rookies in NFL have. to go through their college season. Okay. Whatever whether juniors, seniors, whatever the hell it is, uh whenever. they come out whole entire Oh, sorry. Let's go back. training camp into their. last college football season into their. college football season into college. football postseason directly into uh. combine prep right into the combine then. into their proday then you get drafted. then you got rookie mini camp then you.
have OTAAS then you have three days off. and then you have boom rookies report in. a mini camp and then or training camp. and then oh yeah longest football season. you've ever had in your entire life on. the other side. The Seahawks rookies are. going to experience it longer than. anybody. Congrats. [applause]. >> Congratulations. >> Good luck to us. >> They took they talk about that rookie. wall about week eight, week nine into. about week 13, week 14 where there's. literally you're in this. >> uh kind of a what's that called? Not. heaven, not hell.
>> The beginning of your work, which was. the beginning of your last college. football season, is so far behind you. You have no idea. >> And then the light at the end of the. tunnel for the end of season. Nowhere. near. >> You might have to travel to three. different countries until that thing's. there. So from like week nine to about. week 14ish, week 15ish, those rookies. are just surviving. I mean, it is just. like, how do I find motivation? How's my. body hold up? How do I not continue to. just get pummeled? And oh yeah, the most. important football is happening right.
now. So what rookies have to do in the. NFL is rude. What rookies have to do in. the NFL is difficult. But there's only. so many spots, kid. Go ahead. We all had. to do it. Good luck. the Indiana Hooser. team that we got a chance to sit behind. at the ESPs. Those kids 16-0, longest. college football season of all time. Oh, congratulations. You make it in the NFL. Longest NFL season happening of all time. with the most amount of travel. And if. you're on a team that's good, that Super. Bowl isn't for another two years, buddy. So, good luck out there, you young. Bucks. You can handle it. Excited that.
we're already at training camp. Can't. wait to cover the rookies in Seattle as. if they are Patrick Mahomes and Travis. Kelce at training camp next week. Uh the. talks of tables here at Boss Connor at. Tai Schmidt. How many days, con man? >> 54 days and we'll be uh what 53 days, 23. hours, and about 59 minutes at 8:21. tonight. Very, very excited for it all. And you know what? It's probably hard to. see the light at the end of the tunnel. for those guys. For us, we can now see. the light at the end of the title. You. know, we're saying sports in in the.
intro. We're we're very close to saying. football once again. Hall of Fame game, I believe, is 20 days away, less than 3. weeks. That is unbelievable just to. think about seeing people playing. We. also have to remember, hey, after Hall. of Fame game, although it is awesome, seeing kickoff, seeing kick returns, that football does not kind of reflect. the football that we're about to see. very, very soon. >> You guys ball this weekend. Obviously, the World Cup has been holding up its. end of the bargain for all of us. And we. appreciate soccer for that. [applause].
>> Absolutely. >> It was a bummer whenever those games. stop being every single night. I'm being. serious. Whenever we're just sitting. through a night with nothing. >> Yeah. >> It's like, man, you know what? I kind of. wish some of these foreign little. bastards would run around on a football. right now playing soccer. Okay, that. that is what I was thinking this. weekend. Saturday, Fed Place game for. France and England. >> Good luck live match. >> And then World Cup championship on. Sunday obviously over there in New York, New Jersey, Metife Stadium in the. shadows of New York City. Spain vers. Argentina. Spain obviously favored. number one team in the country if you do.
or in the world if you do recall. Spain, Argentina, France, and England are the. top four teams in the world world. rankings going into the World Cup. They. obviously become the final four. >> Is there enough parody? >> Huh? That's a great question. Doesn't. seem like it. >> Maybe soccer needs to look into its. parody issues. May maybe we need a. little drafting thing to be changed. Maybe we do need the guys that are. playing in the countries in which they. play in and place that they call. residency play for those teams. Yes. >> For instance, that guy on the right side. of the picture right there, >> he should be playing for American. I.
hope he I hope he has a good time here. with Argentina. I hope he goes back to. back because I don't really like. watching the Spain team play soccer. I. know they're very talented. Congrats to. you guys for being a world power and. being number one team in the world. I'm. pulling for Messi. But I also I hope he. goes back to back with Argentina. That'd. be sweet cuz he might become the first. guy to ever win three World Cups in a. row with two different countries when he. plays for America four years from now. That's what we're hoping for this. weekend. Huge for football. But also I. mean we don't need to call Jim Canour.
Our eyes on the internet Tai have been. seeing something that might be a bit. alarming and might make us go. is the under. the play here for this World Cup final. tie. >> Well, yeah. Is the under the play uh is. the game going to even be played on. Sunday is is the question. Cuz listen, we've had this type of thing happen. before with the wildfires up in Canada. and then we get the notifications on our. phone like hey air quality is not good. in India and it's kind of like okay yeah. whatever sounds good. We were just in.
New York and I think it was what Monday. like blue skies looked unbelievable. Tuesday when we were going to the ESPs. it was like what the hell's going on? >> Starting to get a little Gotham City. >> Yeah. Almost it was like smoggy almost. And now we're seeing videos come out. from Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and. other places on the east coast and like. they're basically saying like I think I. think it in New York it was they're. advising people to stay inside. They. said hey if you are you know walking. around the city today that will the air. quality is the equivalent of smoking. like 10 cigarettes. So don't do that.
We've already had a bunch of baseball. games either they're stacking them to. play double headers to get them done. earlier. There's a chance that like the. Dodgers are in New York to play the. Yankees. So we'll see. I mean that. game's supposed to be on Sunday in New. York. I hope the air quality is good. enough for them to play. >> New York, New Jersey. >> Well, that game's in New York, New. Jersey obviously, which. >> is very fascinating the way they title. it just from the beginning. And also now. with the World Cup, lots and air, not a. big deal for soccer or. >> I would assume that it is a huge deal.
>> That really does cuz America has had. such a good run here with the World Cup. Not that Canada and Mexico have not. Let's say we have absolutely crushed it. But now the combination of the Canadian. fires with the uh air quality which. we've experienced over the last couple. years. Canada by the way this. >> if this is what we're getting I don't. even know what it is out there. Obviously scary scary scary scary scary. stuff. Plus with the flooding that. happened I mean. >> scary stuff whenever the earth just has. this [ __ ] I don't know how it's. possible for these things to take place.
But I do appreciate the fact that our. planet just continues to pump through. and just kind of filter it out and. inevitably we'll be back to being clear. skies. But this is a long time. It was. like weeks and weeks and weeks of us. having shitty air. This just hitting now. Sunday having a World Cup final. I don't. want this to dilute the America World. Cup experience. >> But there's a chance two best teams in. the world can't breathe for [ __ ] in a. game in which you need to. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. You'll be sucking air the whole. time. >> Which team smokes more sigs on the on. the regular? >> Yeah. Who's built for this? was born in.
the dark, you know, like if Maradona was. playing right now, we'd be like, "That. guy is going to be skipping through this. entire smunk." But that is something. that's going to be really talked about. And obviously, we here in America are. going to be dealing with this because of. the Canadian virus. Couldn't even. imagine what it's like up in Canada. TBS. to everybody, but definitely something. we should think about with soccer. Now, let's talk about the major that's taking. place throughout this weekend as well. Huge over in Royal Burkedale. Let's go. one half of the hammer down. Cowboys AP. tone. Huge morning over there in. England, pal. >> Yeah, it was. You opened the show with.
the the low scoring. There are now six. men all time who have shot a 62 in a. major championship round. Two of those. men being today. On the left, you have. Lucas Herbert there who came out and. shot a 62. He shot a 28 on the front. nine, Pat, which is absolutely insane. Believe he birdied eight of his first 11. holes. Uh he is your current leader. right now for the golf tournament at. minus 8. And then Sam Burns, the other. man on that graphic, he also shot a 62.
today. He chipped in out of the sand to. shoot that 62 on 18. They are they had. unbelievable rounds, historic rounds. today. And then also at the top of the. leaderboard, Cam Young has shot. backto-back 67s. He's minus 6. That's. what we got going on right now. Royal. Beck down. >> shooting a 62 in a major round has. happened seven times. Two times by. Xander Schoffley in 2024 and 2023. Sam. Burns, Lucas, Shane Lowry has done it in. 2024. 2023, Ricky Fowler did it. 2017,
>> the great Brandon Grace. >> Yes. >> Oh, yeah. South Africa. >> Shout out. >> I mean, you shoot a 62 in a major. >> Let's imagine the conversations you're. having with yourself. >> Well, you're playing some golf. >> No, but yeah, but then whenever you're. Brandon Grace and never heard from. again, it's like I can. >> Yeah, >> I definitely can. I definitely can, but. why? You know, so hopefully these guys. will continue to do this. Obviously a. historic morning. A lot of people. talking about he could have broke the. record of all time, missed a putt. I. hate that that's conversation. Guy just.
put together one of the most historic. rounds of all time and all anybody's. talking about is, "Well, if he could. just putt a ball, baby, on the 18th.". >> Oh boy. >> Get off. Get off. Let's not talk about. He was bummed out. You got to make that. putt. >> Let's get it off. >> You got to make that He shot a 62. It's. only happened seven times, everybody. I. I opened the internet obviously after. this happened. All anybody's saying is. what a loser this guy [laughter] misses. a three-foot putt to have the alltime. record in a major. It's like okay there.
was. >> there's 61 other shots here. You know 28. of them were in the front. I mean it is. >> in the lead and he has to sleep on that. Tomorrow is going to be tough. >> Foxy doesn't have him in his little. thingy that. he does. >> Okay. Shout out to golf pulling for uh. pulling through for us. Shout out to. soccer pulling through for us. Shout out. the NFL having teams and let's talk. college football now. Um, obviously we. are only I think six Saturdays or seven. Saturdays away from college game day. >> Yes, >> everybody tighten up. >> We're tight, kid.
>> Ready. >> Hey, fight camp's six, seven weeks. I. think that's what we got. >> Yeah. >> So, maybe we do start trimming a little. bit of the extra uh energy that maybe is. sitting around some of us in here. Okay. >> Maybe let's try to fit in our chair. still after getting married in a. courthouse. Coming back off [laughter]. of break, we got a long football season. coming up. Foxy, that's in your. department. >> Yeah, Foxy, your department. Multiple. people in there have seemingly decided. that their bodies can handle everything. and they're going to put that to the.
test. >> I will have them in the Hulk house at. 8:00 a.m. every morning with me if you. want to. >> But I would like us all to remember. football season's close. We need to We. need to understand during football. season, we are all be going to become. fats. >> Without a doubt. >> Part of it. Not this year. >> Well, no. I don't care what you do when. it happens. I'm just saying we can't be. doing mid-season fatso. >> before season even starts cuz then. mid-season becomes Goliath heart. problems. >> Yeah, you're right. >> So, I'm just talking to us strictly and. at home you might be on the same page. We got about six, seven weeks here to.
really get into fighting shape so we can. handle a football season of beating the. hell out of ourselves because that's. what we're going to do while we watch. these incredible athletes and these. magical teams try to become the next. great story. Last year, Indiana Hooers. won the national championship. They in. any other year could potentially win the. SB for the best team of all time because. just a few years back they were worst. team in the history of ball. Now they're. national champions. When you talk about. the college football landscape, Ohio. State, >> they didn't win it all last year.
Everybody saying they're soft. Crystal. Ball, obviously he's going to have to. reload after a magical run. How about. Oregon? What are they doing? Well, Dante. Moore comes back, but are they ever. going to be able to really go on a true. run? Who's the kings of the Big 12 now. after everything that just happened down. there in Texas Tech? Is that going to. move up to the Mormon land? And then how. about the power of 65 or whatever? Are. they still getting automatic two bids to. get into the tournament? Hopefully not. >> College football is so much magic that's. about to take place 6 weeks from now. Let's make sure we're in the proper. mindset. >> Ladies and gentlemen,
what we get to do every once in a while. on this particular program is be a part. of history. This year we get a chance to. be a part of something that is not only. good for sport, good for world, good for. country, but also good for our. neighborhood. >> Yeah. >> Every once in a while there's some elite. superstars that have a little bit of. motion. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time. for another big time commitment. [music].
Mhm. [singing]. M. [music]. It's a big day for some big names. >> Locking in the [music] playing some big. games. Some big day for some big games. Locking in [music] the playing some big. games. >> Where you going next? Recruiting is like. chess. Got a 4 D. If you want to be the. best, announce it on the show. Where. [music] you going to go? Oh, everybody.
waiting. They all want to know. This is a big [music] day for some big. names. Locking in and playing some big. [singing] games. For some big day, locking in and playing some big games. >> Ladies and gentlemen, the man who's. about to make his decision, I would like. to say, has the most motion out of any. person that has ever come on our show to. announce where they are headed. Over the. last couple weeks, I've been around. town, whether I'm stopping at CVS to try.
to get some milk. >> Sure. Sure. >> Maybe go down to the grocery store to. pick something up for my daughter or. baby boy. And the only thing that. anybody has been asking me about, not. hey, congratulations on everything. How. you doing? No. Hey Pat, I hate you. Which is good to not hear that. >> Sure. All anybody wants to know is what. the Lawrence North Wildcat, number one. wide receiver in the country from our. neighborhood right here. The hell is he. going to do? Where is he going to go? Is.
he going to make some dreams come true. or is he headed out of state to go on. and continue his future Hall of Fame. career? Ladies and gentlemen, joining us. now to make his commitment is a 6 foot. five stud [snorts]. Lawrence North Wildcat. Ladies and. gentlemen, Munchan. Showtime. [cheering]. >> Yeah, this that long walk. This that. long walk. It's that long walk.
>> Whole family, whole team, whole. neighborhood. How are you everybody? We. appreciate you guys coming through here. We are very lucky and thankful. >> Of course, he's huge. >> Hi everybody. >> Hi. How you guys doing? >> Thank you for. >> all. [laughter].
How you doing? >> How you doing. >> here? Here, if you want to sit in my. seat, you can or stand, whatever the. hell you want. Follow Drew Bre. >> Okay. Okay. You stand. >> Hey, how you doing, Randy? Great to see. you, Randy. You're doing a great job, Randy. [laughter]. You're. >> doing a great job, man. Okay. Uh, thank. you all for coming, by the way. We. appreciate you guys. Hell yeah. This the. Thunderdome, by the way. I don't know if. you guys driven by it. This is what the. inside looks like. Uh, Munchan, thank. you so much for letting us be a part of. this. Can you tell us who's uh around. you here so we can make sure we. represent the entire crew that has. gotten us to this beautiful day here?
Uh, first off, I want to start off by. saying thank you for having us, you. know, me and my family. It's a great. great to be here. >> You think I would have locked your ass. up though when you came in here? [laughter]. >> It's my mom, Chenica. It's my god mom, Chenise. It's my sister, Tiara. It's my. pops, Ray. It's my little sister, Angel. Agent Dewan. Agent. >> Randy. [laughter]. Ry's getting on the sh this morning. Ry's getting on the sh this morning. Randy, we love you, brother. Um, uh, I. I've known your other agent. I don't.
want to get the Dan. >> Dewan. Sorry, that's on me. >> You I've known him a long time. You. know, he's legend around here as well. >> Worked for the Patriots for like 19. years. Went to Las Vegas. Now you're. doing uh Yeah. Now he's back in town. representing trying to take care of the. next future. We appreciate the hell out. of you, man. And thank you for your. service to actually like Yeah. Yeah. I. really do appreciate that. Now, on that. note, we can't wait to see what you end. up going on to do. We've been hearing. about you forever, man. you've taken the. state by storm obviously and obviously. the entire college football recruiting.
world by storm. Let's talk about how we. got to this day. When did you start. getting recruited and how has this. entire process been for you and. obviously your team around you? Uh. >> I really started getting recruited my. freshman year for like towards the the. winter. I got an offer from Louisville. and ever since then it just kind of. picked up. I know I kind of always had. the size. I just have to work on, you. know, the, you know, my craft and, you. know, my team around me, my coach, my. head coach, Coach Mal, Coach Ray, Coach. Wilson. You know, they they they with me. every day. They be on me hard. They.
don't let me take no days off. And it's. been great, really. Um, I kind of never. thought it was going to be like this, but it's a blessing. >> Yeah, there's no way you could ever. expect to be this. And I want to let you. know, I never expected a high school kid. to be the topic of conversation while. I'm going to CVS. [laughter]. It's not It's not supposed to be like. that. which means you are an abnormal. person, man. Which is a good thing. All. the greats are abnormal. How's the work. ethic? How's the love of ball? We. appreciate the hell out of football. We. enjoy it. What is uh what's your. favorite thing about the sport and about. your craft?
>> Uh ball, I mean ball is really life. Um. I mean I wake up read football every day. sleep every day. Everything is football. really. Uh my craft was really most. important thing about my craft is the. the little details. Um, not even just. what I do, just like, you know, everybody really looking at me because I. know everybody watching to see what. I'mma do. Just just picking up on my. effort, you know, every little thing. >> Well, it's a big day for a big name. >> Locking in the play in a big game.
>> Family, you guys look amazing. How's the. process been? I I the all black air. forces on this day. I mean, that is. >> that that is a that is a message and I. appreciate [laughter] that. >> Straight like that. >> Yeah. Uh I assume this process has been crazy. for you all though. A whirlwind I would. assume. Could you just kind of describe. it as we hit this point in the road. that's very pivotal but also the end I. assume of a lot of chaos for you guys. but it's a good thing not a bad thing. >> Yeah. I mean it just a stressful moment. for everybody man. We everybody put a.
lot of stuff into this and to him and. the process man. I mean this that's just. pretty much it man. >> Well we appreciate it genuinely and our. state loves you man. As you know, everybody is proud as hell that you are. in the state of Indiana. Now, we do know. that IU is one of the final five. Obviously, that is a crazy thing to. think that Indiana University is one of. the final five for the number one wide. receiver in the world. We're all kind of. living in this world now. Texas, >> Sarkc Arch, >> they're building obviously. Roll Tide,
Kaylin Deborah in the world. Ohio State. >> wide receiver you. >> just three three hours away. Yeah, but. coach. >> Yeah, he's not there. Okay. Okay. I. don't want to I don't want to sway. anything. Okay. I don't want to sway. anything right now. Uh LSU rounding out. the five obviously Lane Kein down there. What he's building is special. Five. schools. Well, four schools that would. always be in this conversation. An added. school obviously in Indiana that's going. to be in this conversation forever. Uh, if you just want to kind of let the. world know where you're headed next, I.
think there's a lot of fan bases that. are eagerly awaiting the fact if they. can get Munch Sean Showtime sales into. their building. And uh, congrats to all. of you before you do this. And good. luck, brother, if you want to let the. world know where you're headed. >> Uh, first I want to thank God. Um, this. whole process it's it's been kind of. hard, but every night I just talk to God. about it and he just helped me come up. with this, you know, he's I talk to him. every day. He's he's been the biggest, you know, part of my life. He's helped. me come this way. He going to help me in.
the future, too, with whatever I decide. to go. Hell. >> yeah. >> I would like to thank my head coach, Coach M. >> Thank you, coach. >> Hey, Coach M. [applause]. >> Thank. go get you one of these. >> I like to thank Coach Ray, Coach Wilson. All three of those guys, they they be on. me every day. They they they on me more. than anybody I can. They they the best. role models, father figures I can I can. ever ask for. Uh, I like to thank my. teammates too back home. My brother. Carter, Noah, Justin, Dez,
>> boys. Boys, boys, >> JT, um, the whole township really. Uh, y'all, y'all kind of put a lot into us. Y'all feed us every day. Y'all take care. of us every day. Y'all just be on us. every day. Y'all make sure we got our. education, everything. I want to say. thank you to the whole Lawrence Township. and everybody that's been a part of this. journey. Uh, with that being said, for. the next three to four years, [laughter]. I'll be taking my talents to. >> Oh, I like that. [laughter].
>> I like that. I like [applause] that. >> Indiana University. [cheering]. [applause]. >> Wow. >> [applause]. >> I I just got chills, man. I Hey, I just. got actual chills. I I just got actual. chills thinking about that, man. Just as. uh I moved here in 2009. >> Yes, sir.
>> Okay. In this state, obviously, the. Colts, Pton Manning comes in here and. makes football a thing. You know, you. you know, basketball, racing, I assume. people that have been around a lot. longer, football wasn't really a thing. What signetti and the boys have been. able to do down there has ignited, I. think, a fan base of basketball fans, of. Hooser fans all around. I think the. largest active alumni in the United. States of America and everything like. that. The fact that the Indiana I'm. seriously I got chills. Who knows where. he's going? You know, whenever he comes. up here, the fact that you're staying in. Indiana, the amount of pride that this.
state is going to have while following. you and the amount of everything uh. forever is incredible. Can you tell me. why you picked Indiana other than the. fact that you just wanted the state, the. township, the coach? Who's in the red. hoodie there? That one of your teammates. who had offensive lineman right there. You're the best cameraman in the city. [laughter]. >> Yeah, that's right. >> But can you tell me why Indiana? And uh. thank you for doing that for our state, bro. Actually, >> sir, um you know, Indiana was like my. second offer and since then they just.
been pouring into me. I go up there a. lot and I talk with coach um coach. Sheny, coach Eddie, and coach Sig. They're my guys. I probably them. probably the best relationship I have. with coaches. It just feel like home. since day one and I'm just ready to. work. >> We love to hear that. You know, coach. Sig and them obviously any team that's. good. All the teams you put up there, they work their asses off, but also very. much attention to detail. I think if. coach Signetti is interested in you, not. not that you're the number one wide. receiver. [laughter]. You're obviously interested in.
everybody, but coach Sig likes a. specific type of player. He likes. somebody that's a badass that works. their ass off, loves ball, but also is. elite at what he's been able to do. I. think it's a huge nod of like respect if. coach Sig loves you. Can you tell me. about your conversations with him and. then obviously Shanahan as you were. talking about coach Shanny that offense. and what you like most about it. >> Uh coach Sig is is a straightup guy. He's going to keep it real with you. He's not going to sit there and tell you. what you want to hear. And you know. coming from Coach Mal, you know that's. just what he built into me in high. school. So it just kind of clicked e.
instantly. You know I don't want no guy. that's going to sit there and tell me. what I want to hear and just give me. [ __ ] I want to I want to work for. everything. I just want it. >> How do you feel about this? You feel. good? Brother's only going to be about. [laughter] an hour south, hour 15 south. You're going to have to go down there. and have a good time. Sound good? You. yawning in the middle of that was. awesome. [laughter] Not nervous at all. Not at all. What is this? What are we. going to done with this thing? Uh well, we're so incredibly thankful that you, your team, your family are staying in.
the state. We can't wait to watch you. Thank you for letting us be a part of. it. I think some of the boys might have. some questions for you. Go ahead, Con. Man. Yeah, aside from football, I mean, I was talking to you earlier and I read. about it. Track. Like, was there ever a. thought like, hey, I should just go. represent America and run track at the. Olympics, or was that kind of like, hey, this is going to feed into my football? >> To be honest, I mean, if you go to. Lawrence North, you got to run track to. play football. So, it was no if, ends, or buts about that. But nah, I'm not. running track. >> No, [laughter]. it's different.
>> Speaking of Lawrence North, Olympic. bronze medalist, 4x4, Ashley Spencer. went to school there. Mike Connley Jr. went to school there. Greg Odin went to. school there. And in about I don't know. what, two years, they're gonna say, ladies and gentlemen, from Lawrence. North, Wildcat, Indiana who's your. legend, potentially national champ. >> Mhm. So, >> let's go get another one of those. The. state had a good time. >> That was a great time. >> Fun following that. >> Yeah, you you're going to have to work. your ass off for that. We're going to. have a good time. Okay. So, we're going. to need that. Uh congratulations and.
we're so incredibly pumped to watch your. journey and thanks for letting us be a. part of it. man, you've done this state. very proud already. Everybody in this. state holds you in high regards, especially in this new world that we're. in because of uh the amount of. spotlight, the amount of tension, the. amount of pressure, money, you name it. Everybody would expect you to. potentially not act the way you've. acted. You've been a gentleman. You work. your ass off and everybody loves you. This state loves you, man. So, good luck. down there in Indiana. And thank you for. letting us be a part of it. And let's uh. let's have some good days down. Got it. >> You're the man. Congratulations.
>> Congratulations. Congratulations. [laughter]. >> Hey, congrats, man. >> Good to have you, too. >> Good jacket. >> Ladies and gentlemen, future Indiana. man Showtime. Sad. [cheering]. [applause].
This is unbelievable. >> Yeah. Unbel So, >> I know. >> You know what he told me earlier? It's. time to go get a state championship, too. He's ready for that, too. >> Float around. >> Oh, yeah. >> How are you this year? Are you good? >> It's on the way. >> It's on the way. >> On the way. Like that. >> Throw it up. >> Coach knows. >> Yeah. >> The QB coach. >> Been seen. >> Chuck that thing.
It's a good picture. [applause]. Hold on. Hold on. Great to meet you, man. >> Nice to meet you. >> Congratulations. >> Congrats. >> Congratulations. >> One of those. >> Congrats, man. >> Oh, I like [laughter] that. >> Congrats. >> See you later. >> Congrats. Thank you. >> Hey, go pass. >> She was yawning [clears throat] out. there. >> She got me. >> Yeah. I knew it was coming. >> Yeah, me too. >> You got slid. >> Yeah, I got too slow. >> That's my daughter all the time. She got. me got my ass big time.
>> I got a clean high five. >> I know. She was She was going to say, "Am I going to get this guy?" [laughter]. >> Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. See you team. See. you team. Thank you guys. Unbelievable. >> I mean, that's a squad, huh? >> Yeah. Squad. >> Let's do one of these. >> I mean, that's a whole town. >> Yeah. Whole township. >> That's number one recruit. >> Thank the whole township. >> Hey, congratulations team. Thank you. guys. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, guys. See you later. Hell yeah, coach.
>> I like that. >> Yeah. >> Go get coach. Go get you one of these, coach. >> Coach, let's go win one of these. >> Let's go get you one of these. >> Let's go win one of these this year. Let's go get one of these. State title. >> I like that. I like that. I believe you, by the way. I. >> can't throw the football. >> Yeah. And also heat. >> Smack. >> Fills the gap. >> Play the wood. >> That's the first thing I talked to him. about. >> Yeah. He plays safety, too. So, I mean, let's not He's 6'5. Uh what's the 190? >> He might be playing DN by the time he's.
a junior. >> I mean he loves ball. He plays he'll. stick his nose literally in there at 651. 190 as the number one wide receiver in. the country. Very rare are you going to. be able to see him play on the defensive. side. Very rare would anybody let him. You know they Yeah. We don't need you. We don't need you to do that. He loves. ball. His team loves ball. And I'll say. this, this city, >> this is literally right it's like right. there. This city like four miles away. >> This city loves this guy. and uh he's. done it all right. If he wouldn't have. went to IU, there would have been some. real heartbreak. There have been some.
real real heartbreak out there. >> Like you talked about CVS. I got so many. texts when uh cuz obviously, you know, we're we're so close to IU. My wife went. to IU. Like I got so many texts when. they found out they were come he was. coming on the show. Like they they're. very excited. >> Yeah. Very excited. And a lot. [clears throat] of the people seemingly. knew that he was going to come on the. show and do this before I did. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. Yeah. Me too. I mean, it was like. three two three weeks ago uh before we. even go on break. Hey, heard Munchin's. going on your show to uh commit. I'm. like, "Really? Is that real? Is that.
happening?" They're like, "Yeah, he's. going to Indiana, right?" And I'm like, "I didn't even know he's coming on my. show or whatever." And they're like, "Yeah, yeah, it's happening." So, I. would like to say just as a person that. lives in this state, that's cool. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, IU. And for some reason it makes sense. at this stage. >> But if you were to go in a time thing. and go back six years, five years, four. [snorts and clears throat] years,
>> three. Yeah. Yeah. >> Whatever it is, that would be the most. insane thought. Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now just as we continue to. talk about college football, not about. what just happened, just college. football as a whole. National champion, head coach for the Indiana University. Hooser football team, Paisano. Yinszer, icon Curt Signetti. >> What's happening, >> coach? Um, obviously nothing specific.
just happened, but how do you feel about. the culture and the team in which you're. building? Obviously, national. championship is uh something that the. entire world sees, but there's a lot of. work that goes behind that, and there's. a lot of traits that you look for in. players that end up coming to your. particular program down there in. beautiful Bloomington. What type of guys. do you think you always look for? And. what do you think you have going on in. the future, coach? Yeah, you know that natty 16-0 hadn't. happened in 136 years. Now how that team.
doesn't win a certain award as the team. of the year, >> you know, but some networks. [clears throat] are consistent and. getting it wrong. >> No, it's not that [laughter] network. Now, it was fan poll. I want to let you. know, coach. I want to let you know. We. were talking to Team USA's Kachchuck and. Charlie Makavoy. Team USA hockey, both. women and men, obviously did some. magical stuff as well. First time long. time and changed the world. I found out. day of ESP that that was online fan. polling and I'll tell you if New York's. involved I I don't know if anybody's.
going to beat that. >> if you were there coach. But on that. note, coach, we were talking to your. team. >> You're not beat you're not beating them. and and there's a lot of deserving teams. in that. >> but your team came from me. >> We mentioned this though. Your team. though, >> what has happened and transformed and 16. and0 let alone 136 years in all college. ball. But for it to be Indiana is. absurd. But it's because you and your. team and your staff, which I know you. have a lot of uh want to deflect for, but you guys bring in the right people. It seems like you very rarely get it. wrong. Why do you think that is? And who.
are the type and what are the type of. people that you're looking for to be. hooers under you? >> Uh, you know, coaches and players, but. players specific guys that love ball, love the process, want to be coached, uh, have high standards. Uh, you know, they're tough. Uh, you know, they can. handle the grind and they want to be. great and, uh, that do the things to be. great. Uh, and you know, the difference. between good and great is just a special. discipline, focus, relentlessness, and.
keeping your eye on the bullseye. And, uh, you know, smart guys also, not only. talented guys, but smart guys, cuz uh, you know, you got a lot of good players. that are smart guys, they can do a lot. of good things between white lines. >> Yeah. And your defense and offense last. year were special to watch. We were very. lucky to be a part of that entire run. And obviously we had seen it a little. bit earlier than everybody else because. we live an hour north of you. So we had. been seeing it on local news what you. were building and we were seeing the. highlights and we're seeing the work. ethic and we're seeing the buyin before.
everybody else. I would like to say. thank you cuz you guys made me look very. smart. Okay. Now I have eyes and I saw. what you guys were early and I was uh a. believer not only in the team but a. believer in you. Okay. I was a believer. in you at JMU. If I would have known you. were at IUP, I would have been betting. on their ass too whenever you were. coaching them. But you have turned. Indiana into just a common household. college football brand. We looked at. there was a number one wide receiver. that was going to commit. And uh who his. teams were were ob all the obvious.
Texas, Ohio State, LSU, Alabama, and. then Indiana University is on there. And. as somebody who got drafted here in 2009. is has called this place home for the. last 17 18 years, whatever the math is. I don't know how to figure that out cuz. do I count that first year? Do you not. count that first year? I've been here. for almost two decades. >> That seems like a pipe dream. Can you. tell me about the state of IU right now. as a football program versus maybe the. first day you walked in and how much. more can we grow? What are the future.
look like for you? >> Well, we we've taken it to the top of. the mountain. So, we've proven that we. can get there. Uh you got to start over. completely. I think we have a lot of. work to do in fall camp. uh playing a 16. game season. You know, we had a lot of. uh guys out in spring ball, so we're. anxious to get guys working together for. the first time. Uh newcomers, portal. guys, returners, and uh you know, I. think every team you find out a lot. about every day in fall camp and every.
game. So, I think we got a lot of nice. pieces and that's why you play the. games. And uh but that's every single. year regardless of what your record is. And uh we've got good people. Uh coaches. have been together a long time. Uh I. like the guys we got in the locker room. and uh you know we've been successful. every year in the past and I I don't see. any reason why we can't be successful. every year in the future. >> Well, I Googled it and you know said all. right I'm not put that one to bed in the.
past. You coming in there though and. being so transparent with all of us uh. after it all happens and it end up. working. I mean this is Babe Ruth. calling a shot. This is the founding. fathers on uh July 4th, 1776 saying, "We're going to end up getting you.". Calling your shot is fun if it hits, >> but Yeah. Yeah. [laughter]. >> But if it's done, if it doesn't work. out, you're basically cast aside as the. biggest doofus of all time. I've. appreciated the fact that you've come. out and you said when I walked through.
that place, man, everything I was. saying, it wasn't just like for me it. was like we need a mindset change around. you. What do we We're not just. participating. We are trying to win this. thing. The buyin from the school, president, >> ad everybody has been magnificent. You. signing a deal there to stay there when. you could have went. >> any NFL. >> Yeah. >> College [ __ ] If you wanted to coach. Aussie rules football down there in. Australia, I think they would hire you. They Ted Lasso your ass over in the.
Premier League. >> England now. >> Yeah. Yeah. maybe even a why why did you. decide to go ahead and say this is my. home and you did a deal I think that. activates something if somebody else. signs a deal. Tell me why you think this. is the place you can call home forever. as opposed to what some coaches would do. which is like okay now we head somewhere. else. >> I don't know maybe I'm a little old. school. The grass isn't always greener. on the other side. I I really appreciate. and respect the people that I report to. and like them. I like the people uh in.
Bloomington. Uh I think we have. everything you need to be successful. My. wife loves it here. >> and which is important and uh this is. sort of my creation at the end of the. day. Uh even though it's not all about. me at all. I get uh too much credit and. if we stumble I'll get too much blame, but I'll take the blame. Um but uh you. know why go somewhere else? And we're. happy as hell we didn't. And we still. need to get down there and get the. potting green tennis court. >> Absolutely. And the swimming pool now. I.
mean, the wife was working on the pool. all summer long. You got to see it. And. and that's the other. How could I leave. the state of Indiana with a great fan. and asset like you guys up there in. Indie? Huh? >> Well, you tell me. Actually, because. there's a lot of people that kind of. just cast us. You should ask Marcelo's. publicist and the host of Never mind. Let's move along. We shall. >> You're number one. No, actually. >> you are. >> You're number one coach. >> Yeah, you are. >> That that's over.
>> No, I think it you're still. >> Yeah, you still got you got a couple of. months here. >> Yeah, you're still the guy. I [laughter]. think until the next national. championship, actually. >> Don't let the boys think that, though. >> You can kind of walk around. We were. telling your team and we've been uh. DMing all your players that boys, everything was accomplished last year. Don't even worry about this year. Take. it easy. >> Go ahead and move along. You know, I. know you're on them. I can't wait to. watch your team this year. Tone has a. question for you, coach. Yeah, coach. Third straight year at IU. You're going. to have a transfer uh starting. quarterback. Obviously, what you did. with Fernando and what Fernando did.
going from Cal to IU to win the Heisman. was unbelievable. Now, you bring in Josh. Hoover from TCU, has almost 10,000. career passing yards, over,00 snaps. How. important was it to bring in someone. again with experience and experience. running a similar offense uh for you and. this team? And and why do you think you. have so much success with transfer. quarterbacks? Well, that's been our recipe really. since 2019. Every guy that's been kind. of a one-year guy uh transfer. They've. all been player of the year in the. league. >> So, uh since 19 uh with the exception of.
one um who was an incumbent, but uh or a. second teamer. But anyway, uh I'm not. saying that will always be the formula. Uh, but I'm not ready to like uh if we. find the right young guy one day that we. think can help us win a national. championship as a sophomore, uh, let's. do it cuz then you you got him three. more years, right? No, wrong. You know, he's probably off to the NFL then. Um, but Josh Hoover uh has won a lot of.
football games, thrown a lot of yards, a. lot of touchdowns. Uh, was asked to do a lot of things down. there. Uh, you know, we run the ball. uh. even with Fernando 6040 uh and uh play. great defense, great special teams. So. what we'll ask him to do a little. different than what he was asked to do. before and I'm anxious to see the kind. of improvement he's made in fall camp. >> He can spin it. I watched him against. UNCC down there week one when we thought. North Carolina Tarheelss were. potentially going to this uh national. championship [laughter] after one drive.
You know, we're down there for that. first drive which is what Lombardi and. Bellich are going to be trying to catch. Yeah, >> that's going to be what they're chasing. for however long until they get there. But we watch Hoover spin it. That thing. comes out real nice. That comes out real. nice. And uh now that we've seen. Fernando, that thing comes out real. nice. Is that a huge piece of your. evaluation? Because I said this earlier, but I mean it. >> I think you. I can say it. You're the greatest talent. evaluator. And I know you're going to. say you have a team of it. You're the.
greatest talent evaluator that we have. seen in this modern college football. You got a lot of places that spend a lot. of money on a lot of players and they. don't all work out. Feels like whenever. you have gotten money from your IU. alumni, which everybody talks about now. like IU alumni is in there. Yeah, but if. you waste that money, that shit's not. coming back. You have been able to kind. of pinpoint what you're looking for, why. you're looking for it. At the. quarterback position, >> Hoover has a lot of similar qualities to. Fernando that we have seen, including. pretty ball. Normally, if you throw a. very pretty ball, it's going to be. accurate normally. That that is kind of. what it is. What else are you looking.
for in the quarterback position, you. think? And why do you think your talent. evaluation is what it is? Is it just cuz. you're from Pittsburgh and you know ball. and went to West Virginia? >> Well, they all have to have arm talent, be able to extend play, see the field, be a great competitor, and be tough. Uh. and uh you know, we develop them, I. think, only because we're smart. We. don't have a magic wand. Uh we try to. give them a good run game, a good. defense, and uh let them know every once. in a while a punt of positive play. and. uh you know they all build off early.
season success and I expect Josh to do. the same thing. Uh talent evaluation uh. can't really say much about that. Um you. know sometimes it's just a gut feeling. I've been around a lot of good people. Uh you know my dad was a good recruiter. known as good recruiter. So I guess at a. young age maybe I was looking at a. little bit. [snorts] Uh but a lot of. coaches that are great talent evaluators. uh in our building. you know, it's team. effort and um.
you know, it's kind of like you're as. good as your last game, you're as good. as your last recruit, right? The first. big bust I bring in, right? I won't be. such a great talent evaluator anymore. [laughter]. >> I can't wait. We can't wait to be like. cuz obviously you'll be getting killed. Sick. Made a mistake here. And I'll go, whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's go back. >> Yeah. >> A lot of hits. >> Yeah. >> A lot of hits. You said there's a lot of. good talent evaluators in your building. and a lot of good town evaluators around. league. There's a lot of ass talent. evaluators, too. There'll be some. buildings with College Game to walk in. and I'll meet somebody and as soon as I.
shake their hand, I think that's a turd. for sure. How much did they pay that guy. Max? It's like, >> all right, make some interesting. decisions here. And I immediately go, I. think this place is in a bad spot. Whenever I meet your guys, even at the. ESPs, >> yeah, >> it was all they were sitting right in. front of us. >> They were sitting right in front of us. Literally, now I was supposed to sit at. the end. Some seat guy was telling me. sit down right behind Fernando all by. myself. I'm sitting with the boys. I'm. not sitting by myself over here. Okay. Can't be doing that. Should have. probably sat behind Fernando though. Would have given him a big one of these. Couple,
you know, that entire game. But all your. guys, you need to know this. >> gentlemen. Yeah. And also good time. Not. like. >> tight. >> Yeah. Not a bunch of very tight group. And obviously you'll have that national. championship forever. I can't wait to. see you guys celebrate that. And let's. get another one. Last question for us. Obviously at the top of the mountain has. some perks and for us it's good, too. Go. ahead, Ty. >> Yeah, and I was actually shocked by this. coach, seeing as how we kind of know you. a little bit. uh you did the voice over. for the NCAA football uh the the new. football g like the college football. game and um you know seeing as you're.
kind of a nononsense no [ __ ] kind of. guy I I thought it was maybe a joke but. then you know you listen to it and I. thought you did an excellent job. What. you were saying in it though was kind of. talking about how in this day and age of. college football like every every kid. you bring in is looking for something. different. How aware were you when you. were doing that? Like, oh, there's. actually a chance me doing the voice. over to this video game could have like. a massive impact or implication on. whether or not some recruits or transfer.
kids want to come to Indiana because. you're kind of a a forward- facing. person on that game. >> Yeah. Well, I mean, that's the reason we. agreed to it. We thought it would be. really good for the program, our brand, and recruiting because a lot of the guys. play that game. So, uh, it was fun. It. turned out well and uh so I'm glad we. did it. >> It was good co. Hey, you nailed it. Actually, you nailed [clears throat] it. Voiceovers aren't easy cuz you're you're. in a studio. I assume you're in a studio. on a microphone or maybe down at IU and.
you don't see what's running behind it. and you're not talking to a team which. you would normally be talking to. So, it's literally like you're penning a a. journal or something like that. So, bringing the juice and the delivery not. easy at all. And uh I want to let you. know. >> get crushed. >> You nailed it. You were the only thing. really a part of that game that. everybody was like good. [laughter]. >> So coach, we appreciate that. We'll be. down to see you soon hopefully. Tell the. family we said hello and grati for what. you're doing in Indiana and potentially.
keeping Indiana's best players of all. time in the state of Indiana. You're the. man for that. >> Goyougo. Ladies and gentlemen, Coach Signetti. [cheering]. I wonder if he knew. >> No, I don't think so. >> He'll he'll get informed, I'm sure, at. some point today. >> Yeah, because NCAA rules, he's not. allowed to say names of anybody that. does anything. Now, he can give him $10. million. >> Sure. >> Sure. >> Of course. >> But can't say the name though.
>> Not yet. >> What type of players you like him? I. like guys that like ball guys. Okay, perfect. >> What about Munchan Sales? Can you tell. us? Whoa. Whoa. I don't know who. >> Who? >> I don't know who you're talking about. What are you talking about? >> Well, the answer, so you're you're not. allowed to say his name, but you can. give him u I don't know, a whole. building if you want. Can't say his. name, though. See, that's the [ __ ]. >> Why don't they change that right now? >> Well, there's just so many things that.
are so stupid. But the NCAA, from our. understanding, both talking to Charlie. Baker and listening to them testify and. doing other things, they're like, "We. can't do anything really." But the. cheeseburger that does fall into our. thing. >> Saying a name before actual sign, that. is our thing. All the new [ __ ] we can't. do anything because we'll just get sued. So I think the NCAA is like, can we get. some assistance in like having some. power where we can't get sued, which I. think is this. >> act that they're trying to put through. Yeah. So the NCAA can be a governing.
body. Cuz now all the NCAA can really. govern is all the [ __ ] that like we. all think is so stupid. But if they do. anything for any of the other stuff, they get sued and they can't do. anything. So that's why I think all of. us that and we're saying us, but we do. it because we're on Daily Show and we. pay attention to everything. All of us. that are kind of in it every single day. are like, "Hey, there has to be. >> got to do something. >> We got to get something going. We got I. know every every not it's not going to. be perfect for both sides. Like even the. people that are trying to make all the. the guardrails like, hey, you're not.
going to get everything you want here.". And then for the people that don't want. it, agents. >> Uh-huh. >> mostly. Mhm. >> And the players through the agents don't. want and everything like that. Like what. they want to restrict how much money. we're going to make? Like what's that? It's like I don't think that's what. they're looking to do. Will that be a. ripple effect? Potentially. Will there. be better contracts and more money for. more people? Potentially. But that's. every CBA negotiation that takes place. for everything. But it's like when. you're in it every day, there's just so. many stupid things that happen where. it's like, "Hey, can we just can we.
figure out something to take care of the. stupidity?" because that that would be. >> about 75% of the [ __ ] that needs to be. handled and then all the other stuff. needs to take place on the outside. But. the NCAA is looking at us like, >> "Okay, yeah, we'll do that. We make a. ruling on this. This can't happen. anymore." And then. six lawsuits come. They sit in front of. a judge. The judge says, "Actually, NCAA, you have no grounds to say. anything." Like, "Sweet. >> What? >> This burger though is fuck." Yeah. >> Yeah. Suspended for the season. >> Yep. You can definitely do that. NCAA,
you can definitely showcase that you. have some sort of power in that world. But in this whole new world that is much. bigger, grander, more important, and. potentially more devastating to the. sport, you have nothing. So, we just. showcased one more thing that's like so. stupid, but we need some sort of. something so we can get to the next. step. But I think we're on our way. there. >> Yeah, we are. And it's also wild. Um, but with all this, I'm so excited to see. Sig play in these waters now, cuz he's. been playing in the uh under not. undertalented, but guys that were.
overlooked. Yes. Overlooked and then. quote unquote overperformed. And he he. did a lot with guys that, you know, had. the stats and everything in college. versus, you know, maybe the potential. That was kind of his route. Now that. he's he's getting five stars. I can't. And it's it's weird. He's he's bringing. in like obviously with with MCON out of. high school, but Nick Marsh was a the. the wide out for Michigan State who's. come in and was very very highly. recruited. He's doing it at certain. positions mostly wide out and DN and I. think those are probably the mo the most.
important positions to have just. absolute freaks at. But I'm excited to. see Sig start playing in in these waters. and they're going to continue to be. good. Like they did lose some talent. last year. a lot of it on on the. offensive side of the ball, specifically. with Mendoza, but they have like seven. starters coming back on defense for with. Brian Haynes who that defense was absurd. last year. They're going to continue to. be very very good. >> Yeah, that defense with Hany, they were. on a string actually and we saw some of. them at IU or at the SPS and they all. had blockheads, too. That is something I think Sig does look. for on defensive side.
>> What's shape of his head? >> Yeah. >> Does that face look like a [ __ ] home. plate or not? It does. All right. Now, how does he play? How much does he cost? Does coaches like him or No, coaches. like him. He's got the blockhead. Yeah. He's like football. Yeah. >> Who who who. I think that's what he's looking for on. defensive side. But they all had to be. smart, too. >> Yes. Very. Spagnola of the Chiefs a. couple years back whenever the Chiefs. defense was leading the charge. Spagnola.
did an interview Super Bowl press. conference I think where he said uh. normally on a defense you have like. three guys three four guys that are. really smart and have to like kind of. guide the other guys. If you have a good. defense you have three four guys that. are kind of guiding everybody. You have. them all different levels. He said our. defense has 11 of those guys. All 11. guys. Seattle Seahawks defense legion of. boom 11 guys. All defensive quarterbacks. basically they're all superstar. very. rare that you find that Patriots for a. long time they'd have three different. game plans on defensive side. You need. super geniuses all 11 positions. Sigs.
defense, Hannes's defense, very much so. >> very similar to that. Matt Patricia over. there at Ohio State very similar to. that. So a lot of people say like uh are. the schemes they were asking Matt. Patricia the schemes you were doing. different than in the NFL in college and. college? He's like not really. Well then. why does it look like such a different. thing for? He's like, "Well, I'm given a. lot more freedom, but we need the. geniuses out there so we can disguise. and cover." And in college, it's very. abnormal to have 11 because you're still. learning ball. That defense last year. was on a string. They're making checks. without talking to each other. They were.
seeing they look like an NFL defense. Now, granted, they were a little bit. older. Not that everybody that were. playing wasn't older, but that is a huge. deal that seven of the 11 are back there. because you four if you have seven on. the same page, four not, that's still. better than most other folks. Nowhere. near what they were last year though. We're all 11. We're dancing at the same. time. Everybody talks about Fernando as. we should. More people should talk about. Fernando and Danovski. How's that all. going, Dan? >> How how's that whole pre-draft thing. going that we were talking about? >> Took his lap. >> Just how how does that kind of taking a.
knee on stage? Holy fudge, man. How how. are we sitting right there? The offense. was certainly awesome. Omar Cooper, Elijah Serat, I mean, we saw the boys. literally the other night. Fernando, they all looked amazing. Offensive line. won player of the game. Kugan won player. of the game for the Rose Bowl. It's like. they had people two running backs that. were just out. I don't want to miss. anybody. Everybody you hear what I'm. saying? >> No. >> Riley Noki. >> The defense though. >> was the reason why. >> they gave up like 10 points a game. >> Yeah. The defense was the reason why. they won a national championship. It's. also the reason why we.
people that knew Indiana from early in. the season were like. >> remember the Ohio State game that was. just the that was one of the best. defensive games both sides of the ball. that we've ever seen. >> Yeah. Obviously, Ohio State's defense. has 11 guys or whatever go 10 guys go. This Indiana defense when it's all said. and done, the number of people that were. drafted as well, there's seven of them. left. Who knows? We'll continue to keep. track of it. They were the reason why I. was such a believer like, hey, yes, Oregon, should they beat Indiana? Maybe. in theory they should, but from what.
I've seen, Fernando doesn't miss. Uh, signetti is going to have a good plan. And the defense is real. First play. >> as long as they can. Exactly. And that. becomes a big that becomes the entire. story. >> And then third third possession down in. the they forced a fumble. Like their. defense their defense won the Peach Bowl. 10 minutes into the game. >> Yes. It was over it. It's just it was. cool to watch them. It especially. because we're in the state, you know, and obviously have a lot of ties to the. Hooers. My wife obviously her family. He. was talking about your wife. It's like.
Hoosiers are everywhere around here and. they they kind of weren't allowed to be. loud other than Little Five. We got a. Good Little Five. Uh what's the Midnight. Madness thing they have? They have like. a Midnight Madness thing. That's cool. >> Maybe there'd be like an old school. Bobby Knight trailer that'll come out. Good stuff. That's awesome. They didn't. really have a lot to get loud about, you. know. They didn't have a lot to get loud. about. Basketball team hadn't been there. in a long time, even though they were. certainly investing in basketball a lot. more. Basketball coaches were just. coming and going. team never really. represented what the state wanted it to.
represent as. So IU fans were. everywhere. Good boozers, good vibes, good businesses and everything like. that. This football team has ignited. them all to be like, >> "Yeah, we are here." And that certainly. helps in the NIO era. >> Certainly helped. >> And you brought up a good point there, being a part of that game. >> That's a great idea. >> You want me to be the the person that. kicks this entire thing off? Who plays. this game? >> He's on the cover. >> Who plays this game? Oh, every high. school football player. >> I guess I could. >> Connor asked uh Munchon before the show.
He said, "You game or anything?" He. goes, "Yeah, I I play I see I play. NCAA." He's like, "That's all I do." So, yeah. >> Yeah. I think it's a pretty good little. thing. And also the speech he gave, he. wrote clearly. >> Yeah. >> And it was it was very good. All right, let's talk about some other things. happening around the sports world. Um, during the break, we all watched Michael. Strahan talk to Chris Johnson, CJ2K, and. I think we all. I I was kind of blindsided by it. I I.
think I didn't I didn't even hear the. rumors. I guess there was rumors. happening and we we Chris been on the. show. >> Chris East Carolina saw him through. there. Saw him at the Titans obviously. in the AFC South. Chris and I for some. reason we tal like we dab each other up. four games and I was such a huge fan. with everything he was doing and uh. you're talking about one of the greatest. athletes of all like they to ever exist. he just like super explosive super tough. took a lot of hits got the ball a lot. was rolling so whenever I turn on that.
interview whenever I hear Chris Johnson. I was like very I was intrigued like. what is Chris Johnson up there like I. had no idea we're on vacation too kind. of checked out when I turn it on and I. see him I'm like oh my man. Like I think. we're all very devastated. I I think. we're all kind of dumbfounded by it, but. we're also reminded about ALS in that. moment about how. long ago was the first big one? Um I. think like in the 50s 40s. >> Yeah. Lou Garri was in like Yeah. the.
early 40s. >> 40s. There it is. Very public. Everybody. talks about it. So from then until now, we still don't have any and they're. saying it's sporadic. 90% of the time. it's just sporadic and like B. So, we. don't have a lot of information. I there. I guess there's probably been a bunch of. research. We don't have a lot of still. don't have a lot of anything. And I. heard Chris's wife, I believe, say, "We're still praying for a breakthrough. or whatever." So, I think that led all. of us to be like, "All right, well, how. do we, >> you know, kind of I think a lot of XNFL. guys like, hey, how do we kind of help. this entire thing?" So, obviously, the.
ice bucket challenge comes back. I said. I was going to donate 250 bucks for the. next thousand people that do it. 250,000. bucks. We're going to donate towards. research. which I hope everybody else. jumps in on the CJ 2K ice bucket. challenge, ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, but. I do appreciate the hell out of the. Tennessee Titans. They're going to be. honoring, put him in the Ring of Honor. Now, obviously, I assume they think that. they were going to do that this later, like Chris Johnson, obviously one of the. greatest of all time. Let's remember. that this is a good storytelling. We. have no idea what's going to happen. tomorrow. Let's try our best to enjoy. the hell out of the moment. Let's try to.
help people out. Let's remind uh. ourselves to tell people that we love. them. And I appreciate the Titans doing. this. Obviously, this was going to be. inevitable. Uh, but I can't wait to. celebrate the hell out of Chris and. hopefully somehow someway we found a. breakthrough in this to help the entire. society. But Chris, we love you, brother. We absolutely love. It was an. honor to watch you play football and uh. we will continue to be allies in the. research towards ALS. All right, hour. one wrapping up here. Manon goes to IU. Sig feels good. What hour two have?
>> They're two of nine on conversions. Here's a hand off to Chris Johnson. Johnson hurdle in. Watch out. [cheering] Johnson. again. Cuts it back. Touchdown Tennessee. [cheering]. Woo. 89 yds.
>> [cheering]. >> does before it gets great. And off. Johnson again. Watch out. Johnson. [cheering]. Speed. Touchdown. 91 yds.
This kid is incredible. >> Hands it off. Johnson trying to bounce. it outside down the line. Uh-oh. Watch. out. See [cheering] you later. Touchdown. 57 yds for the. >> Young in on first down. Chased by Chris. Long. Dumps it out to Chris Johnson.
He's got some space, folks. Cuts back to. the open field. Chris Johnson cuts back. again. He's going to go all the way to. the end zone for a touchdown. [cheering]. >> First down and 10. Johnson [cheering]. gets a square. Watch out. He's got. getting away from the cops. Touchdown. had a tuna sandwich.
>> Hand off to Johnson. See you. >> Johnson's a blur. [screaming]. [cheering]. Touchdown. 28 yd rip. Six. Johnson again. Chris Johnson. There you go. How good is. [cheering] he? Now once he's through that level now.
this is see here there's the strength. and then it's the speed and then for. Marty. >> Chris Johnson now lines up and nobody's. covering him nobody's covering Chris. Johnson. There he [cheering] goes again. speed and he'll jog into the end zone. Touchdown. [cheering]. >> After the 16 yd gain, Johnson trying to. bounce it outside. Has a crease, has an. opening, cuts back.
>> The following program is a collection of. students talking about happenings in the. sports world. It is meant to be comedic, informative. The opinions expressed on. this show do not necessarily reflect the. beliefs of their peers, their boss or. ESPN. There may be some cuss words. because that's how humans in the real. world talk. If you are a young, please. seek permission before watching any. further.
>> Hey, let's go. >> This show sticks and the fact that you. listen, we are very, very thankful for. on the line with a gorgeous assist. >> The alltime leading tackler for the. Green Bay Packers, you. stop. >> Damn it. >> Your friend, tell a friend something. nice could change [music] their life. >> Hello, beautiful people, and welcome.
back to our humble boat, The Trader. Now available [music] in all 50 states. hour or two and it's feelgood Friday. begins right now. >> Sports. They're amazing, aren't they? >> Yeah. >> Mhm. >> This week we got to celebrate sports a. lot. >> Monday we're at one of America's. greatest traditions, the home run derby. down in Philadelphia. get a chance to. talk to the absolute greats and the. marvels of their sport. Watching them. hit big.
dong. >> 75 in that first round was really nice. >> Yes, it was. >> Shout out to Jordan Walker coming on. program day after. He's going to uh get. paid a lot of money. He's on his final. year of his contract. He was making. 799,000 this year. With the amount of. games they have, he was making 1,400. bucks a game. >> pretty much. [laughter] And then he wins. $1 million as he hit six straight home. runs to wrap up Monday night's home run. derby. It was awesome there in. Philadelphia. Then Tuesday, we head.
over, you know, to uh the SP's lines to. kind of celebrate all that is sports for. two days. The amount of people we got to. run into from so many different. backgrounds, so many different sports, so many different eras of sport, you. can't help but think to yourself, man, what a beautiful thing sports are as a. whole. So many great qualities, so many life. lessons, so many unique stories that all. come together around the same thing. Grit, mental toughness, >> a little bit of luck, and inevitability,
legacy. What is your legacy in sport? Are you somebody that gave back to the. game? Did you change the game or were. you the game? Some of the people we saw. at the ESPs, they were the game. That's. right. >> It was time. >> to play the game. whenever they. >> played the game. >> It's time to play the game. >> Yeah, exactly. [snorts]. >> Sorry for my brain not to do that. >> I know [laughter]. as I saying that. What I'm saying is on.
this feelgood Friday heading into a. major weekend with the World Cup deeming. its world's best this weekend. Let's. remember that although American. Foothball, the best sport to ever be. created, is certainly around the corner. and not happening right now. >> Felt so good talking about it. Sports. will continue to contribute greatness. for everybody and we will continue to. celebrate and enjoy it all. We are so. incredibly lucky that we get to do this. for a living. In the first hour, we got. to see the number one wide receiver in. the country come in here with his entire. school.
>> Yes. Yeah. >> Unreal. >> His entire neighborhood and community. were here and watch him announce that. he's staying in Indiana and going to IU. And then you just immediately I got. chills thinking about it whenever he. said it. I'm like, "Holy hell, this. guy's going to Indiana University to. play football. He's from here. This. state loved him so much." Think about. the amount of pride this state is going. to have for the next three months. And. then when the season starts, we're the. national champs go and do that. Sports. do that. The thought of sports do that. It's our job to celebrate. Talks tables. here at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt. One half of the hammer cowboys AP. Tone.
is here. Tone, the uh open is taking. place over there. Royal Burkedale. They. got no air conditioning, but they. seemingly have some low rounds. Got some. good golfers. What's the story of the. day and what should we be looking at. this weekend? Especially if you want to. dabble a little bit on DraftKings now. available in all 50 states. >> Yeah. The story of the day uh was uh in. the early round, the morning round as. the as the guys went off. Lucas Herbert. and Sam Burns both shot 62s. Uh there's. only been seven 62s in major. championship history. That is the record.
for lowest major rounds. Six guys in. total. And those po those two both did. it uh this morning. Herbert shot a 28 on. the front nine was just which is just. absurd. uh on pace for 56. Uh and it was. an unbelievable round. He's out of live. Um not one of those guys that you would. expect to do that. Sam Burns is more of. the guy who you would expect to do it. He's top 15 in the world. He's placed. high in majors, things like that. He. actually hit his 62. He chipped out of. the sand here of a pop bunka next to the. green on 18 to shoot his 62. People were.
very mad cuz they only showed about. three shots of his uh all morning long. Uh Herbert is now your leader at 8. under. And you talked about these guys. going low at 62. Yes, they did. But they. didn't play well yesterday. So the the. leader Herbert is still only minus 8. behind him. Cam Young is at minus six. He shot backto back 67s. Scotty [ __ ]. or Scotty Scott [ __ ] on his. >> Scotty is [ __ ] uh at three under uh. today. He's off now. Rory had a nice. little round to probably make the cut. this morning. Uh there's still some big.
names up there. Scotty, I would assume. as I was looking right now, is probably. still your uh odds on favorite. He is. He's plus 400. Followed by Cam Young and. Lucas Herbert and then Bryson at plus. 900 right now are your live odds. If. Scotty's anywhere within five shots, uh, six shots, maybe even seven shots, he's. going to still be your odds on favorite. So, that's where they're sitting at. right now. >> Okay. We will always bet on Scotty and. hope that we see Scotty of last year uh, show up, which is just absolutely take. over Saturday and Sunday. And it's like. a Tiger Woods type chase in the weekend.
Not that Scotty hasn't done that. Let's. remember he's got like 15 top fives, a. couple of second places. Uh he's won. already, but everybody's saying he's. kind of lost same Scotty. It's like he. also had a baby right earlier. >> Yeah, he did another baby. >> Yeah. So, there's a chance, you know, that Scotty is all the way back to being. Scotty after missing a cut last week and. getting a chance to get over Royal Burke. early and get a chance to prepare a. little bit for this. He's never got a. chance to do that. So, I will bet on. Scotty until further notice. Couple 62s. in a more special cuz these tournaments,
you're supposed to shoot ass, right? The. rough supposed to beat the hell out of. you. The bonkas are supposed to be. impossible to get out of. The wind is. supposed to be uh not easy to deal with. And it seems like other than the heat. and the dryness, the other factors kind. of not there. Might see some showcase. rounds of golf this week. >> Yeah, they always talk about like, you. know, uh the US Open is going to be hard. because of the rough and the tiny. fairways. The Augusta is what it is. Uh. but the open the these courses are. normally defended by the weather. They're defended by the wind and the. rain and the and the and the fescue. But.
the fescue, we've talked, we yeah, the. we talked about it earlier uh in the. week that the fescue is so dry and the. course is so dry and the wind is not. very bad right now. You can see it, but. it's not like typical open wind that the. course is getable even though eight. under through two rounds isn't too bad. >> No, it's not too bad at all. That's what. the leader is. >> But if the boys are starting to get the. course a little bit more and they don't. have a weekend defense system, >> look out. >> Look out. I mean I mean the boys are. only going to get better and better over. there, especially as it gets closer and. closer to crunch time. That's when the.
great show up and that's also whenever. the nolan great. >> fall. >> Joining us now is a college football. national champion, Super Bowl champion, Rder Cup winner, ladies and gentlemen, a. man who could win the open this weekend. Fresh off of his great rounds over there. at the American Century Championship. Ladies and gentlemen, AJ. >> Hawer. Ohio State didn't get the number one. wide receiver in the country again. >> Uh, sorry. How do you feel about. >> shocker? Real shocker. I mean, if he. would have came in there with his crew.
and everybody and not gone to Indiana, that would have been a bit of a. situation, I believe. So, I had a hunch. I'm thinking I'm guessing he's going to. Indiana. But, hey, unbelievable player. I love the fact that he's playing. safety. Is he going to play safety his. senior year, too? >> Uh, okay. A, this is Big 10 Ohio State. Buckeye. Uh, asking if the number one. wide receiver in the country who just. committed to Indiana over Ohio State is. thinking about dabbling maybe on the. defensive side of the ball. Hey, man, why don't you go play a little Mike. linebacker, bro? No, no, not like I'm. saying in high school, his senior year, like I love and respect when a dude is. the number one player in the country and.
he's playing safety and coming down the. box and laying dudes out like I respect. it. I think it's awesome. >> He said 6'5 hitting like that. >> Yeah, he said hold on just even a. defensive player 65 190 not going to see. him helmet down like going in. This. dude's an absolute duck. This is what. Signetti said about players he likes, not him directly. He was like, "Got to. love ball, man. Got to love ball." And I. asked him about ball and he's like, "Football is life, man. That I wake up. and do it. And then you saw um dad coach.
uh behind him. I I forget exactly called. him coach also said uh father figure. So. I don't know the exact title. Black air. forces. Okay. So. >> we all know at this stage of life what. that means. >> Coach over there. >> blockhead round body. Yeah. >> Just high school football. >> Exactly. You know, like that guy is they. all love ball. And Sig looks into all. that. Like, hey, does this kid love. ball? Well, let's put on one clip of him. playing defense. Oh, yeah. He's going. helmet. He's trying to thump guys. And.
he's not bigger, stouter than them. And. he doesn't have a lower center of. gravity than them because he's 6'5. He. is built up to not tackle well, right? >> He's He's built to not tackle well. unless he's an edge. Yeah. >> Trying to get to a quarterback where. he's like blindsiding. >> Any straight on stuff. A 6'5 skinny guy. bad spot. He He is in a bad bad. position. Punters find themselves in a. spot where they're very tall and thin. and every returner could run them right. over if they wanted to. So, the fact.
that he signs up to do that and goes. head down into it just tells you about. his mentality. But, I'm thinking he's. not playing defense this year, but he. also said he's not leaving the field. without a state championship. This guy. might be kicking for them as well. We. have no idea. >> Yeah. and might need him play every. single position. But he and he said in. there too like, "Hey, I don't want to. have a coach that doesn't like shoot me. straight." Like, I don't want to hear. what I want to hear. >> No, he wants a coach that shoots him. straight. Not doesn't shoot him. straight. >> Sorry. Yeah. Exactly. And that's kind of. what Sig's entire thing is. And it felt. like from the fists that were being.
thrown in the air from his high school. coach, he's probably the exact same way. Like that type of player is maybe a. little more rare than than what we're, you know, back in the day it was. But. yeah, I'm excited to see what he does. >> AJ. Oh, oh, no. [laughter] You know, because. Indiana right here, you know, hey, that's a three-hour drive to Columbus. And obviously, this kid's from Lawrence. He is an Indiana hero and everything. like that. Any other time of college.
football, that kid's going to Ohio State. right there. Mhan, >> without a doubt. >> He's going to Ohio. Watch a block here. Oh, he's not getting the ball. He's. probably patting, especially in high. school. Uh, boom. Baking. >> Yeah. Yeah. I I don't think so. >> I'd say he's going to get some time. early when he he joins the Hoosiers. He'll he'll be on the field pretty early. on, I would imagine. >> For the next three to four years. Okay. I love that line just becoming. synonymous with the decision. But any. other time of life, I would assume he is.
headed directly to Ohio State or. potentially Miami depending upon it. The. fact that he's staying in Indiana is. just absurd. And it is a little bit of a. message to Big 10 football about how. Indiana's staying. >> Yeah, that Diggs alluded to it earlier. Like we we talked about this a bunch. after they won the national. championship, but like it it was no. joke. Like when I was in college, when I. was at Iowa, I mean, same deal with AJ. He was playing against him. It was a. little bit different, but like you would. sell like I would sell my tickets to the. Indiana game before the year because it. was just like I was going to beat the.
[ __ ] out of these guys. Like so we'll. just go tailgate. Like I'm not going to. do all that. And like Dig said, like. they've been killing it through the. transfer portal, but like this is kind. of the broken seal. Like this dude's the. number one receiver in the country and I. understand he's from here, but when. you're, you know, like he probably. didn't grow up an Indiana football fan. cuz they never been worth the [ __ ] You. know what I mean? So it's that like that. part of the equation is completely out. of it. So the fact that he wants to go. there to play football, not just because. like I'm from Indiana, it's close to.
home. you know, that might be part of. it, but like if they're starting to get. guys like this, like you said, like. Indiana's not going anywhere. So, they'll they'll continue to do what they. do in the transfer portal because Sig is. such a good talent evaluator, but now if. they start getting these fivestar guys. to take visits and look up to, you know, a guy like him and be like, "Hey, the. number one receiver in the in the. country went there. Like, why can't I go. there?" Like, this this could kind of. start that. >> Uh-oh. Oh, oh no. I don't think they have anything. to worry about, but I think it's some of.
these other kind of. >> a couple good receivers on on on the. roster already. >> Yeah, now you do. Okay. >> Oh, you're saying the future? Yeah. I. mean, it's it's a real thing. Yeah. >> This is what I'm talking about. The. future of [ __ ] Big 10 football is. what I'm mentioning right now. Yes. That's why I'm saying Oh, no. Not. because you missed out on Munch Sean. Who? >> This guy's the one. I I think this is a. Are you okay over there? >> I don't. >> I don't think so. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. Got it. I mean, Tone. has almost died over there a couple. different times. >> I hope you survive. Welcome back. I'm.
talking about this is like a real and. then Signetti's on the video game. It's. I think Indiana has now all of a sudden. become a superpower in Big I know big. Indiana's become a superpower in the Big. 10, but so many easy come easy goes like. you know Clemson was on top of the. world. Florida State was on top of the. like there is a lot of that feels like. Indiana has real staying power for the. future. I think that's good for the Big. 10 inevitably, honestly, for a strength. of conference and everything, AJ, but. that does have to be a little bit. alarming potentially for those in the.
Big 10 who are used to a circle check. circle check. >> I don't think that's a real thing. And. who knows who's next? And who's the next. Indiana? Is there? I don't know, >> man. I mean, it's possible for it to. happen, I guess, but I don't Let's see. Like I could see his team jumping out. maybe for a year or so, but like the. fact that like Indian has been able to. do it in a follow-up the way they did. and 160, all of that, that's the most. impressive to me. >> Yeah. And it feels like they're only. just getting started in this. It's. >> not another sig. That's the thing. Like. the the money part of it. Sure you.
could. Cuz I I think we talked about. this with like Virginia like uh the the. dude who started Reddit, you know, he he. he decided he wanted their women's. basketball team to be good, so he gave a. bunch of money and guess what? They were. good the next year. But like the other. part of that is like they have Curt. Signetti and no one else does. >> Yeah. Cuz I can already see it. Can't we. all? College Game Day one somebody went. through Syracuse or Northwestern. This. is how you do school TV thing. Who's. this year's Indiana University? Who's. this year's team that was the worst in.
the history of football that will go on. to be the first. >> undefeated football team since. some years ago? Who's it going to be? And it's gonna be hard not to just be. like nobody nobody's going to be able to. do that ever again. Football is such a. game of so many key pieces coming. together and being able to operate and. the fact that they have s I think that's. a big deal. Sig will deflect but you. need the right one at the top. I'm not. saying other schools don't have it but. to accomplish what they accomplish you.
need a unique unicorn and I think uh. just acting like. >> you need to pick right though. Sorry I. hate to cut you off. You got to continue. to recruit the right quarterback as. well. That is a huge part. And that's. why Sig is very, very good at that. And. when that quarterback's playing a high. level, you always have a chance to win. it all. >> Which is why I I will kind of put a pin. on this particular point. Just saying. who's the next one, I I think is a. pretty crazy expectation for anybody. because talent evaluation is also part. of it. Sig is the best. Motivation. Sig.
seemingly one of the best. like people. are talking about hiring him to go. operate businesses because the way he. speaks, his leadership style where he. delegates and doesn't really get. involved too much. The drama, the. expectation, the accountability, it's. like, okay, who's the next one of those? Uh, >> I don't know. Who's the ne who's the. next [ __ ] Michael? Who do you who's. the next Serena William? Is there is it. fair to just assume that there's going. to be a next whenever you're watching. something that's never been done before? I have no idea. And it feels like that's.
what they did last year going into the. year because it was like, "Hey, Indiana, they made the playoff." Like they're not. going to do it again. Who's going to be. this year's Indiana? And now to to all. your guys' points like Indiana has. staying power. Like they're not going to. compare. There's not going to be like. who's the next Indiana. It's going to be. like who's the team that could possibly. make a run because that run that they've. had the last two years is it it damn. near is kind of unre repeatable. >> Joining us now. I think I don't know how. you there's so many things you have to. get right. >> And you mentioned it earlier. What are. the odds if someone who does do that. decides to stay at the school and.
doesn't just say, "Okay, [ __ ] this. As. soon as an SEC job opens, like I just. prove this here. I'm going to get the. hell out of here and go coach there.". >> Joining us now might be the guy that. could do it somewhere. >> Yeah, maybe. >> I don't know if he's going to get. offered the job or if the current job. that he has is going to let him go. The. most prolific writer ESPN has. Ladies. and gentlemen, he's good. A damn good. dog. >> And he's currently sitting in England in. no air conditioning. And to break it all. down for us, ladies and gentlemen, Mark. Schlaba. Schlab, >> international schlab hair. It looks the. exact same as it did three days ago. Uh,
good to see you, pal. How is it over. there? Early rounds going real low over. there in Royal Burkeale. >> Yeah, pretty benign conditions this. morning. Uh, Lucas Herbert of the Ripper. GC live golf league. >> Thank you. >> Shoots a 62 8 under. Uh and then 10. minutes later, Sam Burns, who wasn't. even supposed to be here, throws up a. 62. Wind's blowing a little bit harder. this afternoon and the temperatures are. supposed to break, but uh the struggle. is definitely still real.
>> Okay. So, you talked about brown course. potentially turning purple this weekend. A lot of heat, a lot of dryness, and you. also did talk about how I don't think. we're going to see a big swing in the. wind. You talked about the early rounds, maybe in the morning. People in the past. have taken advantage of the weather. Uh. we saw it who went wire to wire there. just uh last William Clark. >> William Clark who did he had a Friday. afternoon with no weather took advantage. of it and then just kind of carried it. all the way through the weekend and a. lot of people were talking about that. It feels like it's not going to be crazy. weather this weekend, right? We were.
chitchatting earlier. The way Tone. described it is you normally these Lynx. courses have the weather defending it to. make it harder. Feels like the weather. not bad at all for them this weekend. Should we see some people go very very. low throughout the rest of this. tournament? Yeah, it's blowing a little bit harder. They called from Gusle like 20 miles off. the IRC, but but they haven't come. Um. I'm looking Bryson is birdie two out of. the last three. He's hit it halfway to. Scotland off the team, but managed to to. somehow, you know, get it to the green.
Um and it's, you know, you got you got a. bunch of you got a bunch of names up. there that won't be around on Sunday, but you've also got some guys like Cam. Young, Sam Burns, Dambo. If Scotty can. get some putts to fall, he could be. right there in it. JJ Spawn won last. year's US Open. So, you got some guys. who've got it done, but you got a ton of. guys who haven't been in this position. >> Okay. Should we see an electrifying. weekend? I mean, regardless, it's a. major. We should think that. But, uh, 60. back-to-back 62s here, and there's only. been seven of them done twice by Xander. Schoffley. That sounds like somebody who.
wants to get a, you know, a major on a. Saturday or Sunday waking up and going. like, are we going to see a 61 in this. weekend after we've already seen two 62s. here? >> We should have saw a 61 today. I mean, Herbert said he just it was a. five-footer. He had a great look at it. He said he. >> had it going inside left and and just. misread it a little bit, but um. >> yeah, we'll see. I mean, I there's. there's some guys up there capable of. doing it. Uh Burns, he didn't even.
decide to come until on Friday. He g his. wife gave birth July 3rd and his his. agent just threw him in the field for. the hell of it and said if he shows up, he shows up. If the guy gets off the. plane on Monday and throws up a 62 and. shots 73 in the opening round. So a lot. of SEC up there, too. Pat Bernie from. LSU, Bud Collie, Roll Tide, uh Cudy's upcom Molinari's up there. I. legitimately thought the guy was dead. I.
thought he was dead. [laughter] I didn't. even know he was still playing. >> He's playing. >> Yeah. No, I mean, he's like an assistant. captain on the Ryder Cup, the European. Rder Cup team. But it was like 2019 that. was the first big major I ever covered. for ESPN. Tiger wins the Masters coming. off the back surgery. And Molinari was. like a ball striking machine that entire. week and had been all season. And he. hits one in Ray Creek on 12, hits a pine. tree on number 15, blows up. And I'm.
serious. The dude just vanished. Like he. he never he was never that great again. But here he is tied. >> Still doing. >> 6769. >> Yeah. >> Machine 7 years ago. >> I hope you get a chance to go chat with. him, man. Just say, "Wow, what a what an. awesome surprise this. It's good to see. you.". >> Yeah. You're still alive. >> Yeah, exactly. And doing it. And uh you. know what? I assume he might have a. little bit of a journey that he's been. on to get back to this point. That might. be a good story for you to write at some. point actually. And you can even start.
it with I got on TV as the expert. Okay. The one that everybody's supposed to. take serious and say I thought a guy was. dead. Turns out he's in a tournament. playing well. And then you get into the. entire story cuz I assume if he did blow. up and vanish and now he's back. There's. been some deep conversations with self. standing over golf ball over the last. few years that you could certainly. describe better than anybody else. Schluba. Yeah. Another guy to cheer for on the. weekend. Um Marcus Plunkett. Okay. >> Uh went to the went to West Point. Uh.
went and gave up golf for five years. while he was serving in the army. Picked. it back up during CO because he couldn't. do anything else. I think he said he. shot 65 first time out with his dad and. then uh played on the cornfairy tour. last year. Lost his car. Is playing over. in Asia right now, but he's a one over. which was right on the projected cut. line. so he could be here on the weekend. which is a really cool story. >> Whoa. I'm Marcus Plunkett. Hope you have. a good one out there. I hope you'll win. it over there actually. >> West Point guy winning in England.
>> That'd be sweet. >> Yeah, we'd like that. We'd like Tell. them we'd like that Schluba. And I do. like seeing a lot of SEC at the top of. that golf thing cuz it's not on top of. football. [laughter]. >> No dogs up there, man. A lot of dogs. going to be like eight over. >> Yeah, it was tough when you got dogs. Not going away. Yeah, >> I do think you guys should think about. just locking in on golf down there in. the south. A bad move, >> you know, especially with number one. wide receiver in the country. They'd. have LSU and Texas up there. That's why. and Alabama was up there.
>> He's like, "Let me go to you know what? >> Give me Bloomington, Indiana. That's. where I want to go." And you know that. >> Kir Kirby took a receiver out of Indiana. a few years ago and unfortunately he. drove like his first name Nitro and I. think he I think he. >> in the water down there, Mark. No, [laughter]. >> let's stay off of that. >> That's everybody. >> But they do need to chill out down there. on those roads. Big time. >> I'm about sick of reading about it. And. I'm about sick of like, how are we. supposed to talk about you all doing the. same? >> We have to cover this at some point. We.
do cover it. Slow the [ __ ] down, please. Can they please that? We need that. >> Just uh I just commend the Athens Clark. County Police Department, which seems to. find everyone up. >> They do. >> They do got great eyes. >> They do a good job. >> They got great eyes down here. They yeah. they pick and choose on where to hang. and they these are the guy but we all. need to be safer down there. Definitely. I'm sick of reading about it. Now let's. get back to the major shall we? Go ahead. Tone. >> Yeah Mark the 62s were the story of the. day but uh Cam Young backto-back 67s uh.
maybe playing the best overall golf. tournament so far to get to six under. He obviously has not won a major uh. championship yet. How do we feel about. Cam Young going into the weekend? I. believe he's finished second at this uh. major before, maybe twice actually. Uh. but how do we feel about Cam Young going. into the weekend and can he finally get. his first major? >> Yeah, definitely finished second uh. behind Cam Smith at St. Andrews in the. 150th Open a couple years ago. He's had. a great year, won the players early, picked up another win. I think he and uh.
Sam Burns and and a couple other guys. are probably the most talented golfers. that haven't won yet haven't yet won a. major. Uh he knocks it a mile. Like I. talked about when I was on earlier in. the week, you know, uh Rory talked about. that double-edged sword and the rough. being so dry and so wispy. It's it's. allowed some of these big hitters to. really cut corners and take advantage of. it. I mean, we've seen Rory drive number. nine twice now. I think he had a 377. yard drive today and he didn't even.
think he was going to be able to hit. drive around that hole. But but yeah, if. Cam can can can make some putts, he's. definitely going to be in it on Sunday. Um, >> no, go ahead. I I wanted to pivot to. another American golfer that could. potentially be in it that we uh haven't. seen in forever. AJ Hawk has a question. for you. >> Yeah, I don't know if he's going to be. in. I know you said the projected cut. line is plus one. So, Jordan Speed, last. I checked he was four over. I know he's. he struggled with the putter for sure. I. saw earlier like where is he at? Is he.
good? What's what's going Yeah. What's. going on? You think Schlab? Yeah, you know, he he had a press. conference earlier this week and he said. he didn't think like his game was that. far away and I I don't know. I mean, it's. >> Dude, they're saying he three putted. from 3' 11 in. >> Yeah, it was bad. It was like from 4. feet. Yeah. Uh and one here in 2017. I. mean, he's he's super talented. you. know, the talk and and I'm not smart. enough to to figure this stuff out, but. you know, apparently he was one of the. greatest field players of all time is is.
what people say before I was around. And. then now they're saying he's he's too. analytical that everything's about the. Trackman and everything's about numbers. and statistics and he's become more of a. robot. Whether or not that's true, I. don't know. But, uh, whatever's. happening right now is not working. >> Of course, >> he probably needs he probably needs to. get rid of the blade putter, too. >> Okay. Yeah. moved to a spider two wide. banana x uh putter. It's very good. But. you talk about somebody that's a feel. person. So I was in the kicking punting. world and there are some guys that are.
just feel guys like Janikowski is maybe. the most notable feel guy. He just kind. of backs up a couple steps, feels and. goes. And that works for nor most people. for a while. Great. It works for a. while, but inevitably there's going to. come a moment where your feel is a. little tight where something happens. where it's like a big moment and you. fall back on your fundamentals. I was a. big feel guy. Big feel. I'm [ __ ] feel. drop this thing wherever the hell I need. to drop it. Then you get into a big. moment and it's all of a sudden like all. right, what am I trying to do here? Uh,
okay. I think if I do this, so you got. to go to work on the fundamentals. I. assume there was a moment where he was. feel where the grip started getting a. little tight and he's like, I got to get. into something that has like a basis. behind it. So in a big moment, I can. have something that is a reasoning for. why it works. And if you get too far. that So hopefully he'll be able to come, you know, you gotta be able to you gotta. come back. You gotta be in the middle. there, Slaw. You gotta meet him over. You gotta meet that in the middle. So. why don't you go tell them easy fix. would be, hey, >> let's get back to feeling a little bit. better. >> Yeah. >> Let's get a little feel out there. Let's.
have some empathy. Let's have some. emotion. Let's have some touch. Let's go. ahead and let's go ahead and let them. hips kind of work. Why don't you do that. for him? Why don't you tell them we need. to get a little bit more feel in with. those analytics. And in those big. moments, if we want to go, well, stance. 11.2 too. If I left, you can have both. That's what we're looking for. SL ball. That's what we're looking for. >> I I think I'm neither, Pat. >> I think you're a field guy. Just by the. way I look at you, I think you're a. pretty big field guy. I I'd assume you. get to a wedding on that dance floor,
[laughter] I I assume there's a little. bit of schllo ball all over there. You. know what I'm talking about. [laughter]. >> I got two left feet. The dance. instructor threw me out of my uh my my. dance recital my dance lessons before my. wedding. I'm gonna have to get I'm my. daughter got engaged a couple weeks ago, so I'm gonna have to get better here. soon. >> I mean, you could just keep that thing. right here. >> Easy box here. >> Yeah. And then Exactly. I mean, you need. info. Conor's got it. Actually, Conor's.
been a part of like 14 dance recital for. the last last couple week. He can kind. of help you out there a little bit. And. I can tell schlaba just by looking at. you and I mean you said your daughter. there. I don't know how many kids you. got. You got hips bro. You got hips. there. We know you got a little action. in there. You talked about uh you talked. about talking to the press and doing. that. >> There's another guy that you said could. uh potentially win this thing. Also one. of the odds on favorites to win this. thing at plus 900 I believe is what he. is to win the entirety of the major.
which would be very abnormal for the. modern times. Go ahead Ty. >> Yeah Mark you mentioned Bryson there. He's uh currently I think four under T5. right now. Um. >> 620 plus 620 now. >> Plus 620 now. There you go. So odds are. moving a little bit. Uh what have you. noticed from him? Whether it's his body. language, his demeanor cuz I know we we. talked about earlier in the week, you. know, he's got all new printed clubs. right now, but I mean this does look. like a different guy than we've seen in. the last three majors. So, uh what have. you noticed from him? Do you think he is. going to talk to the media now? And uh. what realistically kind of shot do you.
give him to to go out and win this. weekend? I mean, he's a five under right. now. Um, he's tied for fourth. I walked. seven holes with him, seven or eight. holes with him on Tuesday. Tried to talk. to him. He wouldn't talk to me. We broke. up. It's him, not me. Um, >> I think it was you. I think I think it. was me. >> I think you forced him. >> He's not How does that go? Do you yell. at him from behind the ropes or how does. it go where he doesn't talk back? >> But I mean, he was signing autographs. for kids and I give him credit. He does.
that a lot. more so than probably. anybody out here. But I walked up and. said, "Hey, can I ask you a couple. questions while you're signing?" He. said, "I'm done talking to you guys.". So, so I waited. I waited. We had. another conversation. I'll keep that. between us, but um we'll see where it. goes. [laughter]. >> Um. >> I like that. >> But look, he doesn't he doesn't. >> Yeah. He doesn't have an obligation to. talk to the media. And if he's pissed. off at Brandle Shambbley or Nick Fer or. whoever, and he wants to lump everyone. together, that's that's his prerogative. Um, but going back to his question, he.
has a brand new full set of 3D printed. irons and iron play had been holding him. back in the first three majors. His. short game was terrible at Augusta, but. he's hit the irons really well. Everything on Tuesday, he hit close when. I was watching him. Um, he's attacking. this course like we talked about. earlier. He's cutting corners. His. angles and um you know. loft it's it's nuts how high he's.
hitting it and the angles he's taken and. he's taking uh. but he hit one probably deep waist high. rough earlier today and you know could. barely find it. So I think he's playing. with fire a little bit but but he's. right there in it. >> I uh. >> it'd be nice to it'd be nice to know. what his irons are called. He could. probably sell a few million sets, but. >> yeah, he definitely needs it. He. certainly needs it. Um, and maybe if he. wins with this, we will find out. immediately afterwards that the Dsham.
Bro ones are the club of choice for any. future major champion. Maybe though, and. he talked about him saying, "I'm done. talking to you guys." Maybe this is just. what he's decided is his mindset to. become a better golfer. Maybe he does. need enemies. Maybe he does want to, you. know, be a little bit of a heel with you. guys. Maybe he does want a little bit of. the juice love like IH. I think people. go back and tell our story that we. certainly needed enemies throughout. moments of it. You go back to uh other. athletes at high-end thing. They're. looking for reasons. So, this might just. be his decision on what his mindset is.
going in and you just so happen to be uh. the motivator for him. You and uh all. the media people are the enemy that he's. maybe needed to play his best golf. >> Yeah. I mean, he's not talking to the. media. He's five under. He's missed the. cut in the first three majors. So, it's. obviously. >> So, why don't you I know you journalists. love getting credit for stuff. You guys. should maybe start angling that. >> I'll tell you what, he's decided that he. wants to go to war against us and now. all of a sudden he's playing golf better. than he's ever played. So, maybe this is. our championship alongside his.
championship. >> I'll claim it. I'll [laughter] claim it. I fired his I fired his ass up on. Tuesday. Um, but you know, he uh. you know, I look, the dude's got a he's. got to have a lot on his mind. And I. mean, Liv's, you know, looking for money. and may have to fold. He's looking at a. lengthy suspension from the PGA tour if. and when he wants to come back. He, like. we talked about before, he may just go. do YouTube golf and be fine with it. >> Um, >> see, this is you doing was Grant Woods.
or Redwoods or something was where he. was at. >> Yeah, Redwood. Those big trees huge. trees out in California somewhere. >> But, uh, no, I like I I'll say it again. I said it when I was here earlier this. week. I like the guy. I think he's. fascinating. Um, a lot of the people in. this room don't, but I've he moves the. needle. He's a He's He's a good quote. and he's got a weird personality. So, I. I like. >> Is Mike Trico in that room? >> I don't I haven't seen Mike over here.
>> Okay. So, I would assume I don't like a. lot of the people in that room either. So, you know, [laughter]. >> other than you, Schllo, but that is the. way it goes. Okay. Connor has a last. question for you. International Slav. >> Yeah, International Slaw. Uh, obviously. the wind isn't seeming to be a factor. The course is playing real easy. Are. these Greens keepers just going to step. it up and be like, you know what, we're. going to put a pin right next to a. sandbox and see what happens or what's. the deal here with this weekend? Should. we expect like 20 under to win it?
>> No, I don't think it's going to be 20. under. They've been tucking them, but I. think they're right on the razor's edge. of of losing them is the problem. And I. guess they say there's some combination. of fescue and bermuda or bent, but um. they look more like coana to me. >> Yeah. >> So I mean they're dry. They're dry. I. mean there's there's splace already. Um. I mean one of the marshals earlier this. week, I don't know if I told you this. the other day, but one of the marshals. told me that they're about out of damn. water from the well and then they have.
to start paying the city and apparently. the city water's expensive as hell. So, they're just going to spray the tea. boxes and the greens. Whether or not. that's true or not, I don't know. But I. just said it on your show, so hopefully. it is. [laughter]. >> Well, you thought a guy was dead. He's. currently in contention. >> Yeah. >> Now, we don't know if there's enough. water to water the course over there for. a major, but uh whatever the case, no. air conditioning, no water. Sounds just. right for the best golfer in the world. to find their way to the top of the open.
at Royal Burkedale, also known as. International Schlaw's home for the last. week. We appreciate you, brother. Safe. travels back to America and we'll be. following along all weekend. >> You will. >> have a great weekend, guys. Thanks for. having me. >> Hey, watch that coming down the track. >> And he's out. >> That was awesome. [laughter]. >> Still plugged in. >> Yeah, >> could definitely hear that. >> Yeah, [ __ ] that. Whatever. >> Not sure. >> Schlava is the best dude. >> Yeah. D Shambo, I guess cuz he hates a.
couple other guys. We all get lumped in. there. I wanted to follow up. You've. been really nice to him on a year. >> I say he's fascinated just yesterday. I. said just yesterday the guy's. fascinating. I like him out. >> They did kind of break it down on the. broadcast today. Uh his he did give an. answer yesterday after the round. He. used the word strategic like 17 times. Uh and Nick Fo had said potentially that. he wasn't uh his his strategy wasn't. great. So, it did feel like he was. taking a specific shot, >> but also AJ, this is like um you know, different athletes use different.
motivations. Like this is obviously he's. coming in, he's coming in this week. One. of the mindsets was [ __ ] these people. And that was just like his way of. getting himself ready and now he's. playing his best golf right now. So I. don't love whenever, you know, like obviously the journalists. are not going to be happy that he's not. talking to him, but it's like this is. what he's doing. So why don't you talk. about this being maybe a part of why. like there's a reasoning also on the. course for why he's doing this. This is.
like in press conferences when a. journalist asks a question and they. don't like the answer that they give. So. they like try to do it a hundred. different times. It's like, hey, that's. the answer they gave you. Run off of. that answer. Is you know what? like uh I. think there's always just like an upset. about it as opposed to like covering. what is actually happening, you know? It's like I think Schlobo will end up. doing that. But I think this was. definitely Dshambo's mindset going in is. it's us versus literally everybody out. here except for the fans. Fans like us. We'll talk to the fans, but everybody.
else out here it is us versus the world. That was probably strategy. coming into the tournament to to play. his best golf. And I think that kind of. gets lost in like the we feel. disrespected thing. It's like yeah, he. would like you to feel that is what he. is. >> Yeah. It's driving him right now. Like. it's giving him a lot of motivation. There's a lot of motivation in that. Now, you can't I don't think you can. live at that at all times, but I think. there's definitely times when it will. absolutely drive you and make you do the. things you don't want to do with the. fact that you just are super pissed and.
frustrated at a certain group or. whatever. And right now, it's the media. for Bryson it sounds like. >> Hey, you just got to wondering what's. going on with the burn bags. All right. enjoying this now. That was crazy. That. was crazy to listen to. >> Yeah. >> I couldn't imagine the anxiety. >> What? They're still. >> Fairbacks. >> What does that even mean? Have we ever. heard that before from a situation? Good. luck to all parties out there. >> Hope hope to find out everything. I'm. sure that'll happen in our world. Uh.
joining Joining us now, ladies and. gentlemen, is a man who is. >> That would be crazy to hear. That would. be crazy to hear if if you had. specifically. put things into something called burn. bags. >> Hit it very well. >> We need to get these you. It's in the. title. What needs to happen? And then. all of a sudden you hear what years. later. So yeah, still got him. The amount of oh. my god that m must have been happen. And.
what does this mean to that was a crazy. that was a mind-blowing evening. I must. say I I there's no there was nothing on. you know so I'm just sitting out there. >> I don't think that was on the main. channels either right. >> which has happened in the past I looked. that up there has been other decisions. that have been made in the past to do. certain things okay now granted what. being talked about being tal it was a. last night was a fascinating evening and. what we would like to say we hope all. the people much smarter than us which. actually I don't think they actually are. but the people put in positions to do. these we hope you guys get through the.
bomb ball event that's right for the. good of our tree. >> We're kind of We're kind of all forced. to kind of deal with whatever you guys. do. So, >> yeah, >> let's. go ahead and do that. You know, I hope. everybody comes together one time. >> I think so. >> They will. They will. >> That's my first time hearing the title. burn bags, though. >> We'll burn bags. >> Yeah. Bury the ball. You know what guys. need to do? If you have bad game, you. burn that [ __ ]. >> Yeah. >> We got a burn ball right over here with. with a burn pit right over here going. on. >> Put that thing in the burn bag, actually. and let's let's make sure we.
burn. >> actually burn that one. >> That'd be crazy. Joining us now, ladies. and gentlemen, is a man who doesn't need. any burn bags because all he does is. send burns to different countries. whenever he's talking about the World's. Game. Ladies and gentlemen, from CBS. Sports Galazo, our World Cup pundit, ladies and gentlemen, Michael Gorilla. >> Hey boys. What's going on? Good to. thanks for having me. How long was your. break? You guys are back already. Okay, thank you already. It felt like the.
break was very long. Had a great time. Couple weeks we are back in the. Thunderdome. It is an honor to be here. And I'll tell you, Gilla, a lot of us. are saying something that we never. thought we would say. We're missing. World Cup games whenever they're not on. at night. I don't love not being able to. just see two countries I didn't know. exist play against each other in a sport. that I very rarely watch and actually. being invested in it. This World Cup has. been spectacular for the sport. We. talked to Reamer yesterday. Obviously, he wishes it would have went well. We. all wish it would have went well, but.
now we're down to, you know, a third. place game, which. >> the big deal. >> That sucks that they have to play in. that. Okay, they have to care, too, because there's a lot on Reamer told us, you know, world rankings on the line. here. Obviously, a lot of pride on the. line. A lot of these guys potentially, who knows how, not Harry and Mbappe and. Jude and the stars, but who knows how. many more international games, some of. the World Cup games are going to happen. So, obviously want to win as opposed to. lose. And then the all eyes on Sunday. whenever we have Argentina and Spain and.
that baby photo obviously from Yamal and. Messi from the UNICEF thing 19 years ago. is absolutely absurd. It is uh it makes. you question a lot of things actually. whenever you go forward but we don't. need to do all that. What are you. looking forward to this weekend? How we. uh should we be viewing both games and. uh World Cup as a whole? How's it been. for you? So, just kind of open canvas. here for you to kind of paint the. picture for us on what we should be. looking forward to here this weekend. >> Pat, you started out playing soccer. So.
did I. And basically, we tried to make. it to the World Cup and obviously we did. it. But like seeing that picture doesn't. make me feel so bad cuz I was not bathed. by, you know, Ronaldo or or Maradona. when I was when I was three. >> Or McBride or Alexi Lawless, Tony Miola, Kobe Jones, you know, >> I mean, it makes you wonder. There's so. many questions here with what why and. how and what's going on in in in this. picture. But I guess I guess it's true. I mean, that's what they're telling me. that it's true. So, we'll see. It's the. It's the greatest of all time. I've. upgraded Messi in my, you know, lifetime.
standings to the greatest of all time. Above Maradona, above Ple, above R9 for. sure. I mean, R9, and definitely above. Cristiano Ronaldo if he even makes the. top five these days anymore. So, >> the third place match I'm not even. watching. I got better things to do. It's going to be a kick around waste of. time. Um and and the final though will. be one of the greatest games we've seen. in a long time. And it will also um be. probably the most watched sport uh in. this country and all over the world that.
day in well into the billions. So. ultimately this country, America has. done a great job putting uh FIFA and. putting this tournament on a very high. platform and they delivered in a high. way. Um, so really proud of that. obviously because there's a lot of. murmurss that we're not going to do a. great job, but we did do a great job at. it. Um, and and now just looking forward. to this unbelievable matchup in Spain, Argentina. >> Tell me a little bit about this matchup. Um, obviously if England was to get in. there, that's bigger, you know, a little. bit bigger lads naturally. I think from.
just where they come from, that's kind. of how it's going to be. A little bit. more physical game. Should we expect. that from here? Uh, obviously Argentina. was with the shits too with England. They they weren't just like uh you know. scared. They were actually hitting. England a little bit. Kind of big tree. fall hard kind of chipping away at them. Spain not really like that, right? Spain. is we're passing, we're flopping, we're. dancing, we're doing that type of stuff. How should we expect this game to go? And if you're AJ Hawk, football. meatthead, who is start to really like. soccer going through this World Cup, is.
he going to hate what he's going to see. on Sunday? Because like people that. aren't super soccer purists maybe don't. love that style of play. What style of. play should we expect you think? >> Let's start at England since you, you. know, we started the conversation with. England. Let's start there. I came out. and said England are not going to be. very good. I don't know how they got to. the semi-final just like Australia. caught a bunch of heat from that. You. know, it's a shame because I think as an. American speaking about soccer and they. don't really know that, you know, I grew. up very Italian in my household. They. they just right away write you off. But. but uh I called the England from a long.
long way away. And you know, in this. game when you analyze it, you got to. have a good nose and and good eyes. You. know, you got to see well and you got to. smell good. And I knew England were. never up to the task of stopping. Argentina. Argentina, by the way, are a. bunch of paans. Bat, there's 20 million. of them down there. Uh, half of the. team's Italian. Leo Messi's got some. Italian blood in him as well. >> Leonardo, >> nice clay. Mela, >> I didn't know. Hold on there. How many? Well, the Italians didn't make. tournament. Cape Verde has got 10,000.
people. >> Cabo Verde. That's what I'm telling you, Pat. Half of us are in the We're in the. final. Actually, we did make the. tournament. >> Well done, G. Well, cuz we're taking. we're taking Lou Messi as an American, too, cuz he's on Inner Miami. So, if the. Italians are claiming them and the. Americans are claiming them, it sounds. like we're normally on the right side of. winning, right? Isn't that kind of what? No, actually, actually, the Italians got. a good big history. >> Yeah, they kind of had their hands tied. all of those. >> Yeah, nobody talks about it. Anyways, let's move on to the Italian American.
Argentinian team. Okay, that's coming. along. >> Yeah. So the So the Argentines, they're. like brawlers, man. They're tough guys. They're dogs. They're Would you compare. them to the Ravens, like back when the. Ravens were really good under Ray Lewis, like just like really physical, powerful, really street smarts. Um, with. the football, they're not great. They. don't have a lot of pace. They don't. have a lot of big names. The biggest. name and the wild card, which is so. makes it really hard to analyze, is. Lionel Messi. At 39 years old, I had him. downgraded coming into this tournament.
What he's done now is just blowing. everyone's minds. I mean, the details. and what he does when he sticks his ass. out and knocks Kane over, it's it's like. top level stuff. So, he kind of puts. them in the conversation. Everything's. gone through him. All the assists, all. the goals. I think he's got uh eight. goals and and 11 assists in the. tournament. So, directly, you know, uh. or four assists in the tournament. So, directly impacts the game. Spain, you. may not like the way they play if you're. a neutral. There's a lot of intricacies. There's a lot of comp complexities in.
the way that they play. Um they they. kind of a suffocating team. They take. their time with you. You know, it's kind. of like a death by a thousand paper cuts. where, you know, Argentina will be more. rock and roll. I have Spain as the. overwhelming favorite in this one, unfortunately. But then again, then. there's Leo Messi and this guy's an. alien. He's from another place. Um we. haven't seen anything like him. We'll. never we won't see someone like him for. a very long time. And you know, compare. him to Yamal who's on the other side of. this. like he's supposed to be his. predecessor. He's supposed to be the.
next best thing in the world. He's got. one goal this tournament, right? So. that's sort of the comparison, you know, eight goals versus one. He's sort of. been a piece in the Spain team where. Messi has been the entire Argentina. side. So this is going to be really. interesting. You see the odds there. really really close, but Spain are a. little bit more polished. Argentina a. little bit more the back alley brawlers. you just uh talked about a guy who I. think if you're not a regular soccer. watcher or whatever, you're not going to. know because he's so young. And. obviously I think we saw him in the. Euros maybe when he was 17 we watched.
him and he kind of came onto the scene. was like holy hell this is the guy and. then now you know coming into America. there was a couple different streets. down in Tennessee or whatever they shut. down to see him now he could walk. through Walmart nobody had a clue who he. was. >> You're right. >> Okay. So all these soccer fans doing the. the biggest city. Okay, I understand. that they are very famous. They come. through Indiana. They could walk right. down Broadway, which we don't have. Could walk right down uh.
>> Meridian. >> Yeah, Meridian, >> the canal. >> Whatever. What's the Broadway? That. place is dead. We need to bring that. place back. >> Not not safe. Okay, that doesn't need to. be broadcast. to walk right through there with a name. thing above them and it people would be. like, "Oh, hey, welcome to America must. be like a foreign exchange student or. something like that, you know." So, there is a lot of that. But I do think. even those people have been tuning in to. watch these games cuz how spectacular. they you talk about the amount of people. watching it. Soccer has done really good.
stuff here in America during this World. Cup. Obviously, Team USA having. successes, but all the stars playing. well, seemingly huge for any sport. And. the 19-year-old has become a sensation. But what have we been seeing, Ty? >> Yeah, girl. Listen, I mean, I've heard. all the the song and dance about you. You mean Lamal, and I've se I've seen. him, you know, courtesy of Gump, I've. seen so many of these highlights. Like, he is unbelievable. But I I I've come. away from a lot of these games feeling. like we've been sold a false bill of.
goods because he just doesn't do a. goddamn thing. He's not. He's not. putting the ball in the back of the net. On the other side, you got Lou Messi. That son of a [ __ ] is either going to. score multiple times or he's going to. have multiple assists in every game. >> And let's not even get into how long. like. >> Yeah, exactly. >> Listen, if you're going to walk around, that's okay, right? I didn't know this. many people walked around. And by the. way, >> you know me as a kid playing, I should. have been doing that a long time ago. Probably. >> my knees would be much better if I was I. mean, I was 200 some pounds in high. school, you know, so that's a heavy. soccer player. I should have been.
walking everywhere. I didn't know that. was an option, you know. I didn't I had. no The best players in the world walking. all over the place, but Holland walking. his ass all over the yard, scoring. >> and then they finish. >> Messi walking all over the place. >> doing everything. >> And then he finishes. >> Yam, I'm watching this guy walk. I'm. like, he's 19. He's just walking around. everywhere. And then it's like, well, we. haven't seen him really put together. maybe. >> Exactly. because Gumpy has been saying. that he has been hurt and now it's. coming out that he hasn't been in.
training the last two days. How big of. an impact will that be if he's I mean I. who knows what percent he is in terms of. playing on Sunday, but if he's not full. go uh how much can that kind of turn the. tables maybe in Argentina's favor. >> It it does a lot because and I agree. with you for for starters, he's been. underwhelming. He's come into the. tournament with a little bit of an. injury, but no excuses. He's here. Spain. is undefeated with him in the lineup. I. think it's like 37 games or something. like that. So, think about that. They're. undef.
>> So, he does affect the team. He although. he has been underwhelming with one goal. >> Hey. >> Yo, >> this is the greatest player of all time, guys. [laughter]. >> He was in he was in a little a little. bathtub with Messi 19 years ago. >> Yeah, they do. >> What do you think of him as a player, Greta? He's so we cover him all year in the. Champions League. Um and I he's blown my. mind with some of the stuff he does. And. Pat, and you guys all know this, even in.
football, the most um the biggest. superstars are the most efficient. players, right? The ones that don't run, the ones that understand the spaces, the. ones that like don't turn over the ball. a lot. They understand riskreward. Yamas, he turns it over a lot, especially this tournament. So, he tries. things and it doesn't work. And he's. been he hasn't had that extra step that. he usually has. So he's looked like a. he's looked like a regular player a lot. of the time where like if you watch. Messi there's no fat on the bone like. there's nothing left on the bone like he. he's it's so clean and it's so smart. So.
he's not at that level yet but you know. when he burst on the scene and won the. Euro I think we were chatting actually. on the program like two years ago and we. were talking about Yaman he was 16 years. old and he blew our mind. So he is. coming in with a little injury. It's. been underwhelming. Um but without him. Spain are not as good. I'm sure I'm 100%. sure he'll be there cuz there's a lot of. money on the in the on the line. Even if. they have to shoot him up with some. stuff for the weekend, FIFA themselves. would shoot him up. So, [laughter] he'll. be there. Messi will be there and it's. going to be going to be fireworks. >> You know, FIFA, from our understanding,
fair and square. in the middle with everything. >> Guy gets a red card, let's talk about. it. No, he didn't actually. No, he did. He's playing. That's a big We like that. >> Yeah. England guy gets a red card. He's. out two [ __ ] games. We don't want to. hear anything else about it. >> We like that. See, the these are things. >> debated. >> V just 10 minutes later says, "Actually, you did dive. Yellow card, red, you're. actually out of here." That's how that's. >> Egypt goal. >> No, never happened. We kind of like the.
way soccer's doing it. You know, like if. we were on the uh if we were on the. wrong side of it, boy, we would have. been allowed. Could you imagine if some. Belgium [ __ ] would have got a red card. and then they would have overturned it. and then he's playing against playing. against us? Oh, Trump might actually. shut down the stadium. >> We're not playing. [laughter]. >> You guys know Trump and Infantino are. like are like this. >> No, we don't. Hey, no, we don't know. that one. >> Giving out the trophy. >> He's got a lot of world leaders. He said. that he's friends with, you know, in. this particular way. I heard I heard the. response. I heard the response there.
But if Belgium would have had one of. those overturned here in America, that. there's no way that game's taking place. >> I would have never watched soccer again. >> We would have been so mad. I'm watching. some of the [ __ ] that's happening in V. Them just going back in time. It's like. actually. >> the Egypt one was insane. >> And the person, >> how about what? >> How about the one with the chip in the. ball that knocked out Croatia? It they. said the the they said that the chip in. the ball detected that touch of the hair. >> and then the other night it hit the line. of the sky cable of the sky cam and.
they're like, "No, it didn't detect. anything." What a load of [ __ ]. >> No. [laughter]. No. Remember, we we benefited from this. stuff, so we like it right now. But if I. was anybody else. >> in the world that got screwed over by. the way this whole soccer thing works, I. could see there's some pissed-off people. around the globe. Maybe million of them. >> Hey Pat, what did you think of the US. game? >> Okay, so the Tone actually has last. question for you here and then you can. kind of lead into that. >> Yeah, it was awesome. It was a great.
game, girl. Thanks. Um, no. But if if. Poch does not come back, if he leaves, are we dead? Like, how far does that set. US Soccer back? Especially the the men's. national team, the one that's going to. be competing uh year in and year out for. Conca titles obviously and then the. World Cup in four years. But on it, like. how far does that set us back if he. leaves? >> It doesn't set us back at all. I mean, we've got we've got money, right? And. we're if we're willing to invest, we can. always bring in a world-class coach. I. mean, for me, Pochettino's brought in to.
move the needle for us, and I don't. think he did in the end. And and you. know, cuz Pat mentioned What's that? >> You don't think he moved the needle? >> I didn't know you were a PCH hater. >> Abs. I mean, with all due respect, I. think I could have went in there and did. what he did. Like, [laughter] like. >> guys, let's guys, let's put this. >> he was he was brought in to move the. needle and we lost like eight out of. nine to European teams. And the shame. is, and Pat, you mentioned this before, is. >> so many neutrals, AJ, and so many guys,
guys wanted to buy into this. This. country wants to buy into this game so. bad. And we need a buy in if we're going. to be any good in the future in the next. 10, 15, 20 years. And that game was the. biggest buyin of all time. And we [ __ ]. the bed in a bad way, man. Because I'll. tell you what, you can lose a football. game, but you can't be scared. Americans. don't have that spirit. Americans are. brave. Americans play, you know, you. know, with everything they have. And. that performance was not good enough. That was a scared performance. That. falls in the players, that falls in the. manager. And for me, that's not.
acceptable enough. And listen, as long. as we're willing to invest in the game, we could always bring in top class. managers. >> Pep's available, right? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Peps out there. >> A lot. >> Yeah. >> Why not? >> Sir Alex Ferguson. >> Sure. >> He's available. >> Sure. >> Available. >> Benjamin Franklin gets the job done. You. know that. >> Sig. >> Yeah. Coach Signetti could potentially. pick up the World Cup team or the United. States men's national team just on his. side. >> Yeah, you never know. Possibly.
said, I could have [ __ ] lost in the. first round. >> What are we even talking about? We beat. Australia. You remember my thoughts on. Australia? Okay, Paraguay was a good win. though. Can I have respect for that? >> Paraguay was amazing. And that's the one. that blew our mind. That's the one that. like made us go, "Hey, listen. What do. we got here? We we got something here.". And then all of a sudden they played. against Belgium. And we were like, "Wait, I know I know these guys. I I. know this.". >> All right, ladies and gentlemen, this is. CBS Sports Galazo, legend, boys. >> Thank you, ladies and gentlemen.
>> God damn, he was [laughter] caught. >> Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now as. we uh wrap this up with our we Okay, never mind. He's not on. >> Oh, >> I thought he was like kind of. >> smoking meats. Smoking. meats. >> Someone's. >> breaking news. [laughter]. Rap sheet. What it do? Yeah, we'll have. him join us for the digital version of. the show. Obviously, that'll continue on.
YouTube, ESPN Plus, Disney Plus. Uh, we. can't thank you all enough for allowing. us to do this for a living. We'll. obviously be back on Monday. There'll be. a new major winner or will there be a. repeat major winner? Who will be the. World Cup champ? Who get third place? And oh yeah, more NFL teams will have. people in buildings doing things that. matter. Sports are the greatest. We're. so incredibly lucky. AJ, anything to say. to the people before we get out of here. >> No, I hope everybody has a great. weekend. >> Be your friend. Tell a friend something. nice. Might change your life. Goodbye.
>> That was Hey, >> was pretty good. >> Got it. >> Was about to put it. >> Yeah, he was. >> Yeah. You thought. >> I did put I did. I was, you know, I'm. always I'm always I like being on the. team. >> Team. Yeah, I know. And we like that. You like being on team. We just. >> team guy. >> Big team guy, I'd say. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. Is it. >> you remember when you just got that. grilled turkey burger at that place? >> At McGee. >> I'm going which is the inspiration for. the How I Met Your Mother bar? >> That's correct. >> Which we saw. >> also in Ryan McGee's family, I believe. >> Really? I did not know. Don't tell me.
>> Yeah. [laughter]. >> About my heritage. Exactly. I saw that. on a placard downstairs behind the bar. >> We're a little booed up though. We could. have missed it. You're right. >> That place promptly told us to get the. [ __ ] out of here soon as that soccer. game was over. That was an incredible. place. How I met your mother. photos. everywhere in that place. I I didn't. know I I've not watched How I Met Your. Mother. I assume it's great. >> I like old buddy that was on Back Left. What's his name? >> Jason. I like him a lot. >> Yep. NPH. >> I like him as well. He was on this side. Doogie Hower was on this side. And then. the guy that was in that vampire movie, uh.
>> Jason Seagull. >> Jason Seagull was Yeah, that one. He was. all the way over here. Dracula. >> movie. >> Yeah, he wrote a vampire. >> Yeah, Dracula's Lament. >> Awesome. Awesome. It was a musical. actually. >> Yeah, he he's a phenomenal writer, that. guy. And then also the one with the. doctor uh. >> yeah Doogie House or MPH Neil Patrick. Harris. >> no Jason Seagull the one with the uh. psychiatrist um. >> oh shrieking great show. >> oh got unbelievable. >> yes TV show ever there it is everything. that guy is a part of I think he's good.
I think he's very very good so I saw him. as a younger version of him I guess now. I all over the place. >> and I showed up a little bit later what. they're like this is the bar that. inspired the bar We Googled it. Yep. >> Congrats, McGee. >> Yeah. >> Thanks for having us. Anyways, there a. pub bar. There's chef who knows what. he's cooked before and how great he is. >> It was good food. >> Yeah, but it's a lot of. >> Yeah, classic barf fair. >> What's the dest worst thing you guys go.
out here? >> Oh, I got to go off menu. Actually, we'll give you a uh turkey slab. >> Done deal. >> Sounds good. took it off the bud. >> Then we took it to off they get this. buns [ __ ] surprise ketchup on there. Hey, every I played for the Bengals for. one year. Every day I went in there. I. said, "Give me four of your turkey. burgers." And the guy would make them. beautifully on the plate and I would. just throw a little ketchup on there and. eat them. It was the best. >> A little You had a little turkey steak. You know, a little turkey. >> I'm not using a knife. You don't need a. knife to cut a turkey burger. Come on.
now. >> Yeah, but I'm pretty tall. Four of them. You're You're probably I mean, one at a. time. One at a time. One at a time. >> Oh, you're not stacking those things up. like flapjacks? Mhm. >> Like a lasagna. >> Yeah, you should have. >> Trying to enjoy it, you know. >> Like a loaf. It is enjoyable. >> Yeah. >> Maybe if I have like 45 seconds to eat. four of them, then I would. >> Oh, you're saying that's a little. militant while you're doing it. Whatever. >> He took his time. He took his time. >> Cuz in my head, those things were. stacked up on top of each other and then.
you like syrup on pancakes with the. catch. >> the catch ball over it. >> Yeah. You know what I mean? >> That's what it sounds like. Yeah. >> No, that's Red Gold you guys are using. >> Yeah. >> No, no chance. >> Joining us now is a man who loves Red. Gold somehow over Hines. >> Red Gold is a great Indiana company, by. the way. I would like to let that be. known. >> Are they? >> I do appreciate them chasing the dream. The dream hinds ketchup. No doubt. >> Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is.
a man who uh has a new title at the. worldwide leader. He's junior NFL. insider for ESPN, senior NFL insider for. NFL Network, friend of the program with. the weekly wrap-up with rap sheet and. friends, us being a friends, he being. rapey. Ladies and gentlemen, Ian rap. she. >> What's up? What's going on? >> Turkey burgers. You stacking those. things four high. Putting that ketchup. right on top of that thing, cutting it. like it's a lasagna or a cheesecake or. something with different levels and. diving right in. What would your move be.
there? >> I'm out on turkey burgers. They kind of. tell you like it's like this just like. hamburgers but much more healthy. First. of all, not that healthy. Second of all, not good. If you want turkey, you get. like a club or something like a turkey. sandwich. Little roll, little tomato, maybe some bacon. If you want a. hamburger, be a regular person and get a. hamburger or a bison burger, which is. actually a great and a little bit leaner. alternative. >> Yeah. But certainly if you want to be a. normal person, get a cheeseburger, not a. hamburger. But I do like us going back. in time for those who are allergic to.
milk. Are you allergic to milk? >> No, I'm not. >> You're gluten-free? I'm looking at you. You got to have one of those things. You. >> No, I eat it [laughter] all. I I'm eat. the whole thing. >> Here's another thing. I'm not saying. >> uh here's another thing I want to. mention. You mentioned Jason Seagull's. uh incredible uh resume shrinking. Yeah. The best, >> which I know you mentioned is so. freaking funny. I never laugh out loud. at anything. There are some laugh out. loud moments. That is an You should You. should invest in that show. It's. excellent.
>> Yeah, I I agree. It's a good show. If I. think if that guy's writing it and doing. it, I think it's going to be good. I. think we can probably just bang it until. it's not and everybody's going to say, "This guy stinks. He's never done. anything.". >> Um, what's his name? Who is. >> Roy Goldstein? >> Yeah, he is. He's in it and also wrote. it. Unbelievable. >> He writes a lot of stuff. >> Yeah. >> Hey, thank you people that do that. stuff. >> I appreciate it. >> We appreciate it. Obviously team stuff. All right, Junior. Um, let's talk about. a weekly wrap-up of the rap sheet and. friends. You being raped, us being.
friends. You're in a car. Thank you for. wearing your seatelt. Thank you for. >> No problem. You got to keep it safe. Big. day. You know what's happening right. now, right? >> Nope. >> Visiting day is tomorrow. >> Whoa. See the kids. >> Let me go see my kids quarterly. >> Not going to bring them home. Just go. see them for an hour. >> Not going to bring them home, but four. hours. It's going to be great. Cannot. wait. >> Taller than you. >> Yeah. So, so uh probably some growth, maybe some beard puberty situation. Uh. what are we expecting? How long has it. been since you've seen them?
>> Uh, it's been 3 weeks. We've gotten some. pictures, so we know they are having fun. >> based on the pictures. >> And there's Max right there. >> Crushing it. >> Dang. >> Wow. That's a. >> Okay. I like Hey, good base right there, too. He looks pretty comfortable. Looks. confident, too. >> He's crushing it. >> I like him saying, "Let me get out of my. dad's house and let me go learn how to. do some. >> Yeah. >> Get out of here. Let me go go absolutely. kill it." I appreciate Wow. What are we. doing here? >> That's the other one. >> The dude doesn't look cool.
>> What is. >> wearing his Bass Pro hat? >> He's getting ready to check his watch. right there. I can already see he's. about to check his watch. Okay, so it's. been 3 weeks. Do they get normally. excited to see you or is it kind of a. drag that the parents have come through? >> Uh, I think they're excited. The weird. thing is is like you haven't seen them. in a while and then it gets back to. normal so quick and then you chitchat. and then it's like, "All right, parents, get out of here." And then they you just. see him again in 4 weeks. So for me, when I go home, if I have to leave, so. let's say um come home, go to work, but.
I have to leave that night for somewhere. and I'm only gonna be I'm only going to. see McKenzie for 45 minutes. Obviously. love doing it, but boy, that it it. >> Yeah. Like what you're going to do right. now, I think, is probably a pretty. >> hey, good to see you. Super excited. And. then all well actually I don't know with. how it goes in your but I think. >> in our world there'll be a little bit of. a that now you get a second time of. letting them go you know as like uh. >> yeah but a bunch of kids my kids don't.
generally don't but some kids like they. cry it's hard they always plan something. like really awesome after the parents. leave they needed a [laughter] fresh. fresh load of tube socks coming in and. then you guys can get out of. All right. [laughter]. >> Good luck to everybody out there. Good. luck. Have fun. Tell Max and Jude we. said we miss them. We hope they're. enjoying themselves. This is the annual. 14week camp that the rap sheet in their.
kids to. And uh we I never heard of that. growing up, but I guess it is something. that is normal in places. And uh we hope. you enjoy it. We hope they get great. connections. We hope they have a great. offseason. and we hope you get a chance. to have a great summer. Let's talk about. the weekly wrap-up with Rap Sheet. Uh. Camaro gets a deal done in New Orleans. Felt like he was very persistent about. never leaving. They bring in obviously. running back a Chan. Yeah. >> Uh what's the name? >> Travis Achan from the Jaguars. >> Yeah. I just did we say his name right?
>> It was at the end. He changed it to. Achan. >> Okay. Yes. Okay. So I was right there. Thank you. That was months ago. He he. comes into New Orleans as running back. Great running back. And we all go, "Oo, what does this mean for Kamar?". Everybody gets excited for the. opportunities for Kamar because of how. dynamic he is as a player. And Kamar. came out many times was like, "Nah, I I. want to be here. I want to be here.". They get the deal done. Why do you think. this was so important, Alvin? And what. does this mean for the Saints? >> All right. So, two things here. One, I. thought it was a pretty good deal for. for both sides, right? Like you sort of.
wonder, is one side going to be really. dug in? Are the Saints going to say. like, you know, we want to kind of hold. you over the barrel and not pay you very. much? which is Camra going to be like I. want 10 good compromise you know he's. obviously an older running back going to. be 31 the market for these guys has. really come back and it's actually been. cool to see like people are willing to. pay for running backs now because they. sort of realize they can be difference. makers and like if you're a veteran like. him you could do two things you could. say like all right I want to be on a.
playoff team a lot of guys do that or. you could say I want to stick with my. team and win and like where the Saints. we'll But where the Saints are now, they. could be good. And so he could be sort. of like the final piece to a really good. team and would be an awesome awesome way. to end a really really good career. >> All right, Rap. Uh what about there's a. lot of other like, you know, veteran. free agents who have still yet to sign, notably uh Stefan Diggs, Debo Samuel. There's there's a lot of other ones at. other positions, but those two wide.
receivers, maybe the biggest names out. there left, Joey Bosley, if he's going. to play football or not. Um, when do we. expect are we waiting for camp for these. guys to sign? Is there any indication. that one of these guys are going to sign. before camp's open in the next week? How. do we feel about some of the guys that. are still left on these lists? Diggs. could I I I I mean, look, if you're a. veteran like Stfan Diggs, and actually a. lot of the guys on the list are sort of. in the same boat where it's like you've. been through camps, Diggs is going to be. in great shape. This year instead of. like as opposed to like last year, he's.
come back from the ACL. Didn't really. get to do the like speed in uh sort of. explosion training that he usually does. Is doing it this off season. Sounds like. he's doing really really well. Um, but. he doesn't need camp, so he could wait. if he doesn't get the right deal. But. like certainly seems like he's talking. to four teams. Certainly seems like he's. got enough interest to sign. And you. know, you would think of like the good. sort of playoff caliber teams that he. would, you know, potentially sign with. Um, but for a lot of the other guys,
it's like, you know what, you've waited. this long, like the what's a good. example? Naji Harris. >> Sure. >> Right. Like he, you know, visited a. couple teams. I think it was what, uh, Seattle and the Raiders, right? if I. remember correctly. Um, you know, got. some potential numbers there, but he. could also say, you know what, I'm going. to wait for a running back injury and. maybe get a little more. Like, that's. kind of the time of year, um, where it. is where free agents want to sign, but. like sometimes waiting, getting a few. extra dollars can help.
>> All right. Anything we missed that we. did not bring up that needs to be talked. about from the NFL world this week? >> You know, the Aaron Donald stuff is. really interesting. Like my sort of in. inclination at the beginning of this was. like nothing, not a big deal. But like. it sounds like he's really training to. see like he's been, you know, >> I don't know if you guys follow him on. Instagram, but he is pretty jacked. >> Um, but to get in football shape is a.
little different. So it sounds like he's. going to get in football shape and then. see and like this is this is a really. intriguing possibility. I mean, adding. Aaron Donald at 35, I know, but still. incredible. Like, the Rams are Rams are. on it. Um, this is an interesting one to. keep watching. >> Yeah, I would think so. And I I hate. bringing this up because, um, we love. him. Senior, we assume,
actually, forget that. I know that if. Aaron Donnell comes back, he's playing. 50 snaps a game. Th this is uh this is. not a this is not a farewell tour. rotation tour. This is Aaron Donald. football. In any miked up I've ever seen. or any film I've ever seen of Aaron. Donald. A part of Aaron Donald is not. just the plays where he's getting a. pressure. It's also the check 99 plays. that are coming from every offensive. line. And you know Miles Garrett, everybody's like Miles Garrett will get.
the double team. Miles Garrett will get. the double team. Yeah. Okay. I agree. Miles G would if Aaron Donald's anywhere. near Aaron Donald they're going to be. sending two to Aaron Donald as well. I. mean this is not a and that's been. happening for what eight nine years or. whatever. So I I mean this is uh I think. Aaron Donald me personally I do not talk. to him on a regular basis. >> I believe he's coming back. Okay. I believe that from the first text where. he didn't shut it down immediately. It's. like oh if he's even thinking about it. that means he's probably doing it. what.
he's trying to figure out. He's trying. to eliminate all self-doubt that he. can't come back and absolutely murder. right now. I need to see what a workout. looks like at the facility. I need to go. hit some of this. I need to do this. Training camp's going to probably be. big. Uh if he comes back for him. mentally, like, hey, I got to make sure. I'm still the one, you know, cuz it. would probably my guess would be. probably in the middle or late into. training camp. Like that's what it. sounds like to me. like, but if he does. come back because like he's gonna want. to spend this time by himself doing what.
he needs to do. The football stuff he. can kind of get as we get a little. closer. That's my guess. >> I would assume that he's going to be a. [ __ ] monster when he comes back. there. There is going to be I I'm. thinking there's not going to be a. single like maybe two games, but then as. soon as he gets back into it, cuz. remember he's I think smelling salt. Every time he's miked up, there's like. him either talking to himself or. somebody. Like he is a killer. The guy. The guy is an absolute His engine is.
never ending. I don't even know what he. would do if they were to be rotating him. out like on the sideline. What would he. be doing? I I don't even know. >> He probably just wouldn't. >> Yeah, exactly. >> Like I'm good. I'm good. >> So I think he is just trying to figure. it. AJ, is that what you think too? As a. person who's a freak AJ Hawk also freak. athlete. We we have to remember that. And I'm not saying he's in a. conversation for greatest defensive. player of all time, but certainly. nominated for college football hall of. fame, but white dude running 45 44 at. 240 40 like AJ one of the greatest freak.
athletes of all time. Aaron Donald still. going to have that in there, right AJ? You just think he's trying to figure out. whether or not how much it like what do. you think he's trying to gauge right now. in this whole thing? >> I I think he's just trying to get in. like in football shape. If you're going. if he feels healthy enough to say, "Yeah, you know what? I think I might. come back. Let me go see how I feel. put. myself through some rigorous workouts. I. I absolutely think he's coming back. If. he's not hurt, if he doesn't have some. like weird lingering injury, feels like. that would slow him down. Why would he. not come back? If you're going to at. least take the steps he already has yet, I expect him to be on the field and it's.
going to be if he come think about if he. comes back like two weeks into camp or. something. Think of the juice it's going. to bring camp too for everybody. Coaching staff, players, everybody is. going to be like rejuvenated, I feel. like. But all Aaron Donald's thinking is. about a new offensive lineman that. hasn't faced what he's going to do with. him in the first play. You know, like. everybody else gonna be juiced up, but. all Aaron Donald's gonna be thinking. about I think until then is like, >> am I the same guy? And then he's going. to be doing things. And I wonder how. quickly it's going to be like, >> yep,
still got I think he I don't think it'll. take him too long just hit the hit the. sled a few times and say, "Yep, I still. got it.". >> All right. And McVey here coaching wise, motivationwise, you know, it's not just. X's and O's. It's like reaching, you. know, Jim Easy and Joe's. >> Yeah. >> Like um him showcasing to Aaron how he's. better than he was before actually will. be fun. Like hey, we actually got a read. on the sled [laughter] and this is you. from three years ago. This is you like. those moments are all huge. I think like. literally.
Aaron doesn't want to come back and be. seen as anything less than what he's. already known as, which is one of the. greatest of all time. That's a tough. like Aeron's not telling us this. I'm. just trying to like think for him or as. he was like as he's going through this. It's like that's something too. That's a. constant pressure of like, hey, you're. considered greatest football player of. all time in some circles. You know, that's a lot of pride in that. You've. had an incredible career. Now you're. coming out here. It's like the people. want to see it. You you got to deliver. no matter what your age is, no matter. how long you've been out there. The.
expectation of Aaron Donald is that he. takes over games. That's the Aaron. Donald [ __ ] way. Basically, >> I bet you if they weren't going to. Australia week one, it'd already be. signed. >> Oh, that's fascinating. >> That is that is a very that is an. interesting little. >> real it's a real kick in the dick to. come back to. >> Yeah, but what if he wants to play. there? You know, >> may maybe, but why would you? >> How many years he got left? I'll go [ __ ]. it. I played a game in Australia. A. couple of those. So, wrapping it up rap. sheet. Your thoughts on Aaron Donald. He. comes back mid training camp. It sound. like you said he plays fulltime and it's.
inevitable that Miles Garrett and Aaron. Donald are going to be doing this at. some point to some. Yeah. some offense aligned on Monday. Night Football and then you just see a. little AQ Shipley going [laughter]. >> I don't think so. you know, >> I mean, I I don't I'm sort of like you. and I I hear what I hear, but I'm not. talking to Aaron directly and I don't. know for sure, but I I liked kind of. what you said a little bit ago when. you're like if he's, you know, it's sort.
of like when a guy's thinking about. retirement, I'm always like, he's going. to retire. This is sort of like he's. thinking about coming back. It's like. what would make him go, okay, no, like. I'm not like is he not going to be. physically good? Like I'm just trying to. understand going through all this, ramping up the training, what would. actually make him say no. And then the. other thing is like we've had super. teams or whatever you want to I hate. that stupid term, but like in the past, >> the Rams would be a little bit of that.
and they're like everyone's going to be. gunning for them. Expectations are as. high as you could get. They're already. really good. Like that their team is. going to be so interesting to watch. every game this year. >> Okay. Uh, we appreciate the hell out of. you, man. Thank you for joining us. Have. an incredible weekend. Tell the boys we. said hello. And, uh, I guess Ty would. say good luck with the delivery. >> Yeah. Yeah. Full full suitcase of tube. socks for each of them. So, I know that. they've probably requested that. >> All right. You're the man. Tell Miss. Leia. We said hello. Let's rap.
>> Haze Faucet here has some uh breaking. news. He says, "Uh, fivestar plus wide. receiver Man Sales has committed to. Indiana." He tells him, he tells Hayes, "Fay, >> let's go." A. >> little late to the party there, Hayes. The [ __ ] you doing? >> He does that every time. >> We appreciate it, Hayes. >> We put him on here, right? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> It's all right. Hayes, do your thing, bro. Do your thing. That was a big deal. for our program, bro.
>> I know. It doesn't matter because now we. have an audience. That's a big [ __ ]. deal for us. >> Sick. their journalistic integrity a. little bit. >> Yeah. Well, Hayes ain't no [ __ ]. journalist. >> He is though. They are. They are the. considered that of that, you know. >> Yeah. >> We like Hayes. We like his hustle. >> He's a good guy. >> Can we get some [ __ ] credit? You We. did it. >> Agreed. >> We had 150 people in here. >> Pete Nos would never. >> We had a whole high school in here. >> He did. >> Pat 40 wouldn't do that.
>> He wouldn't. >> Shout out. Unbelievable. All right, Hayes, congrats to you. getting the big break. >> Nope. Not going to say it. Kind of like. AC work. Was I just going to. automatically just ban him for life? But. I'm not going to do that. >> He does do it every single time we have. someone on. >> I know he's a young guy. He works his. ass off. >> Figuring it out. >> Easy. It's all good. But just for the. for the sake of journalism, which I've. been questioned for before, you know, my.
journalistic I think Suz what was what. was the how they. >> integrity? >> Is that how they phrased it at the. thing? >> What's going on with that place? >> Journalistic standards. >> Yeah, something like that. What are. those? >> Which one was it? >> We don't need to get into that game. AJ, >> keep an eye out for your burn bags. >> Yeah, >> I will. How are the He was uh I can't. remember if you were there or not. He uh. hadn't seen his bees in a while. He's.
very worried about him. >> Still haven't. I gota I'm going to. probably hopefully get in there this. afternoon. Yeah. Been been away for a. little bit. >> What do you mean you got to build a. relationship with them? They'll [ __ ]. leave you, pal. They'll go somewhere. else. >> I got I know. Well, I got to go I got to. give them their time, too. But yeah, like I've been been gone. It's been been. a little while [laughter]. letting them build, man. >> I got to give them their space, too. >> Are you Have you still not f the queen? I haven't got back in there since it's. been 10 days at least since I've been in. checked out on this hobby. >> Those things were feral, dude. >> You guys are You guys are ridiculous.
Like, why do I even mention I shouldn't. have never mentioned it to you guys. >> No, cuz we've been following this. relationship between you and. >> Hawk Hives box over there, dude. >> Yeah, we got sent an entire beehive over. here. But. >> that's cool. >> I was excited to learn about this, but. instead, what's happening? >> Yeah, he's. >> the only thing I'm learning is that. you've given up. >> There's no dayto day. There's no. dayto-day checking on like anything and. talk to anybody. Talk to David Burns, one of the greatest YouTube beekeepers. there is. You got to give them time. [laughter] to build, man. >> The guy invented a he has a he has a.
full hood that usually has mesh hooding. If you find this guy, he built a. plexiglass view shield into his hood. So, I'm looking to make one of those my. own, too. >> Okay. So, we're still in interested. >> Oh, what? Come on. More than interested. This is what this. is what they you know we absolutely are. interested. That's what we do. >> All right. Um David, >> we got two things we have to do cuz it's. Friday, but we got a lot of people I'm. looking at that have to pee and poop as. [laughter] well.
>> Um. let's just uh. yeah, let's just do uh one of each. Let's do one of each. Ladies and. gentlemen, it's for time. Uh-huh. >> Do the right one. >> Do the right one. >> for each one. >> Yeah. >> See, I don't know the answer to that. right now. >> Foxy's making that decision. >> I know the right one for the the Oh, no. Is easy. Everybody knows that one. Something that happened that we never. could have imagined. >> Actually, there was another one.
>> Actually, >> what? >> The the animal one or the. >> Let me show you some. >> I was thinking the animal one. >> Okay, there's another one. >> And then there's another one I saw at. Goofball Fest from last night. >> Oh, that. >> No, that. >> I want to see that one. I don't know. what it is, but I'd like to see. There's. a poop one, too. Oh, the poop one. Good. >> What's the goofball fest? >> All right, let's do all of that one. Let's do all of those ones. Let's go to. the other one now. Let's go to the other. one now. >> Um I think. >> I don't know any of the ones that. >> I think we'll just do one. >> These ones aren't as good. >> Actually, we'll just do two. Um.
[laughter]. we'll do two here and uh just kind of. ride with me here. Ladies and gentlemen, each Friday we try to uh celebrate all. the amazing things of sport. It's time. for five things that aren't asked. >> Here we go. [cheering] Here we go. >> Today it will just be two because. obviously it's an offseason week. First, let's head to the American Century. Classic out there in Lake Tahoe. Ladies. and gentlemen, there is a man who is a. all-time leading tackler for the Green. Bay Packers. College Football National.
Champion, Super Bowl champ winner, AJ. Hawk, who is a how many time participant. in this celebrity golf tournament now? >> 17 maybe something like that. >> Nice. And for the first time in his 17. years, he stepped up to the Travis. Matthew. >> Boom. [screaming]. >> Wow. >> Boom. Shot for Hawker. So incredibly. uncomfortable and awkward with them. Celebrating him and a camera on him. Doesn't know what to do. Just try tries. to walk it off. Keep it cool. You were. certainly excited in that moment. AJ,
that's a big time shot. And we know. that. >> Yeah, I was glad I made it. I didn't I I. forget. I don't know who. Oh, it's my. brother obviously was the one filming. me. Yeah, he probably didn't expect me. to make it so soon, but yeah, had to get. out there, get up to the 18th TE and tee. off and hit the next one out of bounds. >> Had you ever made it? Had you ever made. it before? >> Yeah, I made it a couple years ago when. I went by. >> Have I played with somebody who played. with some people that were awesome and. he they were different people were. firing shots. I said, "Hey, did you make. it?" And he said, "I'm actually 0 for. the tournament." And this was Sunday. time. So, yeah, I was glad to make one. >> Yeah, it's good to get one to see uh see.
one fall through there. Vince Carter hit. one. >> Mhm. Easy. Obviously Steph Curry just. crazy. It's crazy how easy all the. basketball players, no matter how old. they are, walk up to this and just kind. of let it fall. Yeah. All of them drop. it. It's a far it's a far ass shot and. there's wind and it's a weird setting. And by that moment, you are very. intoxicated normally. So way to go. there, AJ. We're proud of you. Let's uh. let's move away from the golf. Let's. head to a basketball court. more. specifically a uh NFL player on a.
basketball court, Ashton Genty out of. Boise State. Obviously, the guy did. magical things in college. He goes to. the Raiders and is a stunt. Yeah, I'd. say he's a bit explosive. >> Yeah, I'd say that type of explosivity. is good uh when it comes to being an. athlete. And Ashen Genti is everything. they say he is, I guess, out there in. Las Vegas. That team's loaded. That. team's stacked. I think the world, the. NFL world is going to be introduced to. this guy this year. here in a much. bigger way. AJ, >> yeah, he is. I mean, that how explosive.
It's so impressive to see him do that, but it just makes me think of all the. defenders that have to try to attempt to. tackle this guy with his low center of. gravity and how jacked and ripped you. like these guys are nightmares to. tackle. I'm just letting you know right. now, >> boys. That's certainly not ass. >> Not ass at all. Buy stocking the Raiders. now while you still can. >> I'm telling you, there's not a lot of. respect for the Raiders on the sports. books or really anywhere. And that's I. guess because they're in the Chiefs and. the AFC is what it is or whatever, but. it's you start looking at their roster, you look at what they did in the. offseason and you look at the Ravens.
taking Max Crosby who has bangers out. Raider way of goal today. Congrats to. him by the way, pursuing that particular. dream. But the Ravens go like this to. them. Boom. Kick them back to the. Raiders and this might be their best. team. And we all know how we feel about. Fernando. >> Like I am a believer in Fernando. They're in a competition obviously out. there, him and Kirk Cousins. good person. for Fernando to learn from if Kirk is a. starter. And if Fernando is a starter, Kirk has already had to go through this. entire thing. And I think Kirk and. Fernando much more similar than maybe. anybody else that could possibly be.
there with Tom Brady also doing the hey, this is how you're a leader. This is how. you do this. >> I'm a I'm a firm believer in the Las. Vegas Raiders this year. Now, what does. that mean? >> They'll be much better than how many. wins. >> Yeah, exactly. What does that mean? >> Nine. >> Whoa. Get nine wins. I would not be surprised. they get a playoff win. Wild card. >> Wow. >> That's how I feel about the Raiders when. I'm looking at their roster right now. and how I believe in Fernando. But they. spent a lot of money in a lot of good. places and it's like are they that ass.
that they can't overcome having good. players as well. We shall see. Good luck. to them. >> Five and a half is their overunder for. the win total. So. >> I'm I'm on their over. >> I am on their way over. And then uh. Genty had the O line was so bad last. year and he was getting hit three yards. in the back field almost every time. But. he had over 1300 total yards and just. with a horrendous O line as a rookie. season. >> And Brock Bowers, was he good or no? >> Uh always. >> Was he was he good tight end for the. Raiders or No. Did it work out? Is he. going to be okay in the NFL?
>> Yeah. Uh yeah, >> be just fine. >> I think he was they basically like. wouldn't let him play last year. He got. hurt like week one and he was like, "Hey, I don't want to play." And Pete. Carol was kind of just like we suck like. so we don't want you to get hurt so. you're not going to play. >> I like five and a half. >> Five and a half. >> Yeah. >> Hammer. Let's do that before everybody. gets on their wages. Oh no. Sorry. If. you're 21 plus in a legal state and. agree to gamble responsibly and not like. a [ __ ] [ __ ]. >> Come join us, please. I'm I'm literally. getting this in before it changes. It's. going to change as we talk about this. I.
think especially if an influx of money. comes in on them. Three. Let me uh if everybody maybe slow. it down a little bit. >> They spent some money. >> Five. >> Yeah, a lot of you. >> Oh yeah, I can see him getting six. There's six. Definitely there's six win. >> There's a tough schedule. >> There's six wins. >> Okay, but six six and a half over under. over six and a half is plus 125. >> No thanks. I'll take the five and a. half. >> I'm taking six and a half. I feel very. good about them. >> All right, we'll see how long I let that. bet stay in my thing.
>> Yeah, >> it's hard to do the bet. I'm be honest. It's hard to do the future, >> especially when you got to when you're. when you go to zero and you're like, should I reload or just cash out this. futures? >> Yeah, [ __ ] this thing. I'll do I'll do. this again later. >> Responsibly. >> Yeah, >> responsibly. >> If you're DraftKing's available in all. 50 states, okay, need to need to. remember that. Predictive marketing in. places in which sports gambling is not. available. In sports gambling, they got the best. It it is so many. options. You know, first time you're in.
there, it might get a little scared, okay, because there's a lot of [ __ ] But. as you get more and more and more and. more comfortable, it's like by far easy. to use. Uh, also they will check your. ass. Had to watch a video the other day. >> The video basically popped up as soon as. you log in. They say, "Hey, you should. stop betting on soccer." Okay, you want. to look at your stats, bro? Do you want. to look at your stats right now? View. statue right now. It's a button right. here. You should [ __ ] look. >> Is that true? >> Yeah. Popped up. I think it's one of. their newest thing. view. I I found out. after I uh I thought I knew it in.
soccer. I had it figured out. I had a I. had like [snorts]. >> a lot of lot of a lot of lines out. there. >> And I just thought, man, when they when. it has to come and it didn't and none of. them, >> no bites. >> There was zero goals. [clears throat]. Yeah. In a couple games. So, it it. really went and I log in. soon as I get in there. It's a video. Got to watch this. All right. Let me. skip the video. No, you Hey, >> no, you suck at doing this particular.
sport. >> You have to watch this video. And then. it's like, do you want to view your stat. sheet right here? Oh, yeah. Actually, you are going to view your stat sheet. >> in soccer. This is started out good, bud. This is kind of what's happening. And then they're like, uh, we can't wait. to get to college basketball with you, too, for March [laughter] M. We're going. to have we're going to have some of. that. So, I do believe that if you make. an agreement to gamble responsibly, DraftKings will also remind you of that. that this is supposed to be fun. This is. not a try to get rich thing that is. happening. Only like three people in the.
history have been able to do just. history. I'm not talking like this. There's a very small group of people. that have been able to do this for a. living cuz sports are unpredictable. So. don't be an [ __ ] Just utilize it to. make uh the game a little bit better. And uh we appreciate the hell out of. DraftKings as we go forward. And we. would like to be people that remind. people that we know sports gambling is. going to be a part of sports in a much. bigger way. Not that it hasn't forever, but also do it responsibly. So come on, this is what it's supposed to be. Like. 10 years from now, I think we'll all.
kind of understand like drink in. moderation. You know, there's some. people who drink like I think it will be. something, but we are honored that we. are part of the time in which it is kind. of all taking place and we will continue. to echo the sentiment that is a true. one. >> Don't be an [ __ ] gamble responsibly. >> That's right. >> It's actually not a bad tagline. >> I like it a lot. >> cuz anybody that sports gambling is not. going to get offended by being called an. [ __ ] photo shirt. >> Don't be an [ __ ] Gamble responsibly. >> Boom. >> That's not bad.
>> Yeah. >> I a see a billboard of that. >> No. >> You don't think they'll put it up, bro? >> I don't know. I don't know how they. feel. Young impressionable eyes. >> Starole. >> Yeah. Maybe. >> Don't be an ahole. >> But usually it's actually the hole part. that they uh blur out. Yeah. And not the. ass because it's visual. >> Cuz ass Okay. Yeah. >> Hole. Okay. Can't do it. >> What about like a picture of a hole? Not. a butthole, but like a hole like Shia.
above holes. >> Yeah. And you just do one of these. You. have somebody like this. Like a uh blank. person doing this with a hole. >> Yeah. >> See through on a billboard so you like. see the. >> That'd be cool. >> That'd be cool. >> I like that. >> Innovative. Yeah. >> See the blue sky on the other side. >> So we're just kind of cutting a hole. through the entire billboard. big ass hole in the middle. >> I think that'll certainly it would. definitely be worth whatever that would. cost, especially to put it back. afterwards once we're done. >> Yeah, you're right. Well, yeah, we're. done. >> Yeah, you'd have to knock down the whole.
billboard after that, but it could be. part of it as well. >> They sell those by the amount of eyes. I've told you guys this before, right? >> Mhm. >> Get an odd number. You [ __ ] You guys. real attention to the details. You're. counting exactly how many one odd [ __ ]. are walking the room. >> Yeah. >> Not they're all [ __ ] but you. >> sure majority though? >> No. Good folks. everyone I've met. >> Dude, I uh. I watched that Abbott piece again. >> Great. >> Just kind of got caught in it. I was. just scrolling, stopped, did something.
It was running on the video. I was like, did I hear did I remember went through. it again? That third grade teacher. >> Yeah. Yeah. Dog. >> taking time out of life away from school. to figure out how to tie shoes. >> I got it. Get out of here. >> That's crazy. Like I a like, hey, I. figured it out. That's like a [ __ ]. cool thing, you know? like all listening. to all that was like uh that was. beautiful. That that was beautiful. storytelling. >> It was. >> and a beautiful inspiration and. beautiful story as a whole. >> Now on that note, let's go the complete. opposite direction. It's Friday.
>> Okay, >> it's time to wrap up some things that. maybe didn't go so good. >> Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to hop. on the train that nobody wants to be on, but inevitably if you're doing anything. in life, you could potentially end up. here. It's time for Oh [screaming]. no. >> Let's go out to Yellowstone. Everybody's. seen it. Have no idea how this is real. and not out of a movie. Old man with. suspenders running from bison. [laughter].
Gone. I've seen a lot of breakdown of. people saying this guy just staying. directly in front of a bison and. continuing do as such is obviously the. only thing you can't do whenever you're. with a bison. I guess side lateral. movement not as great. This bison. hitting him so purely and throwing him. so high is obviously out of a movie. Guy's good. Guy understands. Everybody. laughing at his fate and also. understands that this is a scenario that. we never thought we could see. Now you.
look at that bison, you think to. yourself, that fucker's gigantic. >> Yeah. >> Did we know they were that big in real. life? I don't think so. I I I think I. thought maybe a little smaller, you. know, because I'll go through like a. mall or I'll see one on the side of the. street. That [ __ ] is gigantic and. Foxy, you're good throwing it, man. We're good. I think we just ran 45. straight. >> Well, we didn't talk about how it stands. over and taunts him, too. >> Not only does it taunt him and he gets I. mean, you just took a photo. So, this. how it started. >> with the fins jersey next to Jacobe. Brassette.
>> This how it started. You take a photo of. him. He's rolling around and I wish we. had the full video cuz at the beginning. he's like rolling around sleeping the. bison like kind of having a good time. waking up and yeah here we go. having a little bit of a time might just. took their food, you know, right back. here. Might have just went in that truck. driving. >> That [ __ ] is gigantic, dude. Just. absolutely gigantic. And then somehow. his eyes just kind of catch these two. >> Look at you. >> Is [ __ ] sweet? What are you guys doing? >> Is that guy got binoculars? I'm way too.
big for you to be this close. >> All right, I'm getting up. >> All right. >> And. you want to show? Is that what you want? You want your You got your cameras out. >> Come here. >> Let me go ahead and [ __ ] give you a. show. >> That thing running right at you. You. have to be thinking, "No way this is. real. No way this real." Turn the. corner. A little bit of fish tail. Little bit of a fish tail around there. Then stalk spray stops. Let me get a. little better angle at this thing. Runs. through a tree. Obviously. Get this tree. out of my [ __ ] way. Hey, Trey, you're.
you're in my [ __ ] yellow stunt. And. where's this prick at? He's back here. Huh? Hey, where you at, pal? Oh, let me. smoke you out of here and then let me. I mean, that's a lot of thinking that. Bison did. >> Oh, yeah. >> Do we know that they had that much. forward thought? Do we know that they. had that much like pettiness? Do we know. that they had that much athletic. ability? The fist tail around the right. end turn two there. That that was. >> I learned so much about these [ __ ] in. this video other than the fact. incredibly durable. That's his olds. >> Yeah, >> that's cool to hear that he didn't work.
>> Yeah, very happy that. [ __ ] was gigantic. >> Huge. Yeah. >> Which takes us where AJ? The new stadium in Buffalo. >> Mhm. >> We were calling before seeing this. thing. Okay. I didn't know this is what. a Bison's fast ball was. I had no idea. [snorts] that this is the [ __ ] one. Is this Is this the [ __ ]. >> Is this the goat of bison? Is Is this. the might? >> Is this the biggest, fastest, strongest. one that we got? Is this what they all. have been? I don't think we know enough.
Maybe. I I saw them in. >> in history books. They were like this. mostly, but the [ __ ] Native Americans. were like, "Oh, >> I haven't seen one like that since. America's Wildest uh nature videos back. in the day. You buy the VHS, get sent to. your house. That was sick.". >> Yeah, it was work. Sweet. There was. another one somebody. multiple people do those. I think they. pick and choose to do the the nature. ones. >> Yeah. >> For me, I never seen a bison that big. That [ __ ]. >> was big. >> Is that a modified one? Like what do we.
got going on? Is that a crossbreed of. something? >> Could be. >> Is that what a [ __ ] bison has always. looked like? >> I think so. I don't know how old that. thing is. I I didn't know they were that. that I didn't know they're that. aggressive, but I think Connor might. have been on something. I think that. pickup truck rode by and was like, "Fuck. you, dickhead." And then, you know, he. was like, "What? What did you say to me? >> Who said [laughter] that?". >> And then that old bastard just sitting. right there with binoculars. >> Yeah, exactly. >> Soon as he saw binoculars, >> so that Ram truck, I believe it was. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> The first one or the second one?
>> The first one. Yeah. >> The the coming left to right. >> Yes. Agreed. >> That's the one that you're saying. >> Yeah. [ __ ] Might have honked actually. >> Yeah. We I don't don't know what audio. is available out there, but I think. those guys might be to blame. >> Can we go back to the be That's a Ram. truck right there. >> Then the windows rolled down, isn't it? >> Yeah. >> Definitely said something. >> Press play. Press play. What do you. think happens here? >> What's up, guys? >> You What do you think the truck says. >> right here? No big deal. Whatever. This.
guy that they're just like, he's like, "Check this [ __ ] out. This is going to. be awesome." You know, whip it around. the trees. >> Okay. come back around. >> Okay. And you think when do you think is. the moment that. >> you know. >> that was the moment I think whenever it. was yell was that truck right there? >> No, cuz I think he's getting up right. there and just. >> Okay. You think he's doing right here? Hey, [ __ ] you, [ __ ] [laughter]. >> That's a different truck. I think I. think that's a different Those are two. different trucks. >> that those guys are in cahoots.
>> Oh, you think one woke him up? >> I'll I'll wake him up. We'll yell at him. and hopefully maybe he'll [ __ ] kill. this guy over here. Who knows? We steal. their campsite. >> Guess he's hunting that guy. He even. pushes him out. You know, like the. second lap around when he takes the. tractor another round right here. He. pushes him to go right where he wants. him to go. I mean, you know, he's like. baiting him to get Yep. Please. Thank. you. >> Oh, uh Zo Zto did some uh digging. The. truck did honk its horde. >> Which one?
>> Had to be the first one. >> The first one. >> The first one. Had to be the first one. Then they looked like it was someone. working there. >> How about them hitting the gas a little. bit faster on the way. Hey, good luck. >> Yeah, exactly. Those [clears throat]. two, >> but good on that buffalo, too, cuz I. assume if he was really pissed, like. after he launches him up like that, like. he could have went and stomped on his. head and killed him and he decided not. to. >> I thought about it. He was talking he. was standing over. >> The only thing. >> was blows. going through it over there, bro. Did. you hear him earlier? I mean, there was. a seven cough run. I thought he was dead. after each one. I like that city, but.
every time I go there, it's dirty. It's a dirty city. >> What city? >> Well, we were in two very dirty cities. >> Okay. I didn't know which one. >> Evil there. Weak immune systems. You. know, it is a dangerous place to be. >> Bruce Brown attacking the immune system. >> Yeah. If you weren't born and raised. there from birth, he had tough. >> Well, born in dark. Well, I I'll tell. you the hotel um air conditioning. >> that too. If you got one shooting right.
on your face. >> and you happen to maybe fall asleep in a. different place, but then roll into. that, >> that certainly will get you that'll get. you pretty dry. >> Yeah. >> In the morning and then a lot of what. was that? Oh, I was just huffing. >> the neighbor in this hotel's. somehow cold air that Europe hasn't. figured out yet. >> Directly into your face for 3, four. hours with. >> at least. Actually, I'm not going to. blame it on New York cuz it did start in. Philly, but there was human poop that.
Foxy and I had to stop step over in New. York. >> Really? I thought that was done. I. didn't see any human poop day one. They. saw diarrhea. >> So runny. >> I never actually see human poop when. we're in New York. And then I did this. time. It was awesome. >> Really? It's the first time. >> Yeah. And it was disgusting. >> Cuz I'll say like the last three times. I've been there in recent history, I. haven't seen it. And that'd be the first. three times that I hadn't seen. [laughter] So that's what I I guess just. I was a different mindset. >> Yeah. That was early in the morning, too. That person's unhealthy. >> Yeah, we saw a couple people sharing a.
queen cardboard, so it did seem as. though they were probably using the. dumper. >> Yeah, but it could have been the horses, too. I saw um. >> Oh, we smell stuff, too. That's. >> Park horses. Yeah, that's a bummer. >> Big time bummer. >> Ban them now. Yeah, like legit there. There is a movement to ban them and they. should. It is massive. >> I'll sign that. >> And where do they go? Where do they go? Don't ban those [ __ ] things. That's. part of New York. >> Those things were about to die in every. single one of them. the small city. slickers coming in, especially people. from, you know, overseas, they want to.
take a horse ride [laughter]. around Central Park. Now, if you want to. ban a couple falafel stands, cuz I could. have sworn I saw one of those guys just. taking a [ __ ] dump on a semolina roll. and then selling it to someone, now. that's a different story. But [laughter]. >> that's neither here nor there. >> You're not going to get the egg right. there. >> We couldn't find pizza. >> Crazy. >> No piping hot pizza. >> Unbelievable. >> Yeah. Nothing open after 10 p.m. >> That was crazy. We couldn't find pizza. after the ESPs. We were walking back. >> You were there, [ __ ] What do you. mean, really?
>> Not after the ESPs. I wasn't there. >> No, but we were talking about it the two. previous nights as well. You can't find. pizza anywhere. >> How do you feel, AJ about missing the. ESPs now that it's happened? >> I mean, I did, you know, I did miss out. I was watching it on TV and I I was. like, man, I wish I was there, but I was. unable to be there. So, I made the best. of it. >> Thought they did a great job. Marcelo, beautiful job hosted. >> I did think he did a good job. >> Not an easy gig. >> No, tough room.
>> Yeah, >> tough room. >> Music's tough, too. Like if you're not. the crowd, that's always awkward. >> Awkward. >> They do stuff in between, too. You know, like during the break, that stuff's. always awkward, too. They should just. play some music just like, "Hey, you. guys probably all want to talk to each. other right now." Even though I. >> very The MC guy, I like him. He's good. The other [ __ ] that they try to put in. there though, it's like there's like a. thousand people in this room that I'd. much rather have them talking. And. actually, I'm trying to go talk to them. actually because well, we got three and.
a half minutes right now. No, actually, you guys sit down. We got a little mid. break show going on. It's like, well, I'd like to [ __ ] go talk to them. >> Most of the seat fillers are like. robots, too. Like, you know, there's a. lot of movement, people going out there. and you get so like every once in a. while just be like some random person. sitting next to you and they're just. [ __ ] sitting looking straight ahead. like won't engage. >> It wasn't the senior fellers we talked. to though. Uh I had a couple like that. next. >> No, they weren't robots though because. we told them not to be robots. We told. them we need big ha. Then. >> there's some guys down at the end uh at.
some point. But there was a couple. people I was sitting next to like the. first like 30 minutes we were in there. [ __ ] robots. >> That had that couldn't have been in the. group we saw going in. >> Probably not. >> AJ, I saw a group of these seat fillers. whenever we walked in and uh felt. obligated to go give him a speech, you. know. I felt obligated to give him a. speech about, hey, we need action. >> Oh, that's what that group was. >> Yeah. >> I thought it was like high school. athletes for sure. >> Oh, okay. No, I'm not talking about. them. >> They were they were. >> Oh, but they were also se. >> high school and co like freshman and.
college. I think it was that era area. era of uh human athletes that were. selected to be seat fillers. >> Okay. >> So, got a chance to see them. We're. already late. Let's be later. Let's go. talk to these people. Yep. [laughter]. >> Go and uh talk to them. They tell them. their story and uh yeah, they had great. energy. Great vibes, man. They. understood the importance of being in. there. Like, hey, whoever's on the stage. need you. >> Mhm. >> We need big H. I told them. ah. Those things.
clapping. We need big dramatic clapping. Standing O's. Let's be excited to get. up. I forgot about how many of those. happened. Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. A few too many this year. >> Yeah. But it stopped at one point on. somebody and then it just kind of slowed. down as it was. >> Yeah. It was It was everyone for a. while. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. I think early people felt excited. to potentially do it. >> Yeah. >> And then it was like, >> are we doing it? >> Here we go again. Are we doing it? Okay, here we go. >> That was a decision that was made by. >> Who is that normally in in the back? I.
think. >> probably. >> there was someone front left who kept. doing it who was [snorts] really pissing. me off. >> Oh, come on, dude. >> Peter Shreger. >> No, no, >> I know you're talking. >> Peter Shreger was right behind us though. with the Miz. >> I saw a great little video of him. very. excited. He was very. >> He was juiced. >> You said I think Shre showed up at 4:30. to the red carpet. >> I think I don't think so. I I know he. did. >> Really? >> Yeah. He went right from our show. directly over to the red carpet. [laughter]. >> and I think got delayed because of the. rain.
>> Oh, yeah. I did. >> Yeah. So, he was just kind of holding. down. I think he actually had an. umbrella out for the [ __ ]. >> people arriving. >> Let's go to the last uh. All right, that's the show. No. Okay, [laughter] come on. >> That's it. That's. >> That guy earned it. He was in there for. eight hours. Just covered in [laughter]. >> Ladies and gentlemen, let's go to Kansas. City. Okay. A man got stuck in the.
shitty part [laughter] of a Porter John. for eight hours. This man somehow found. his way into where. >> you poop and pee. Obviously, security. cops and fire department were all very. confused by the situation. Sir, how do. you find your way in there? And I'll. tell you, for 8 hours, he was sitting in. there and it we still don't know the. exact way he got in there. A lot of. people saying drugs probably in play. here. Maybe he dropped his phone, trying. to get down in there, accidentally. >> It was Mountain Dew. I believe he.
dropped the Mountain Dew. >> Okay. Maybe it was a liquid. I guess. that he was trying down there and scoop. it back up. Whatever the case, eight. hours this man was in the wrong end of a. portagon. So, fire department had to. come, saw him out, eat their own amount. of [ __ ] and this guy gets out. Tone, you were really the driver behind this. one. Um, what most um satisfies you. about this particular clip? >> Um, just the ability to get down in. there and then. >> there was multiple moments where he had. to.
>> like do one of these. >> Yeah. And then he wouldn't come out. So, the this was uh on July 14th. It was. after the KC watch party for the World. Cup. So, a lot of pissing [ __ ] in there. >> Yeah. A lot of staying power. >> A lot of steamy pissing [laughter] [ __ ]. in there. This guy decided to live in. there for 8 hours. And then they came to. pick up the portage John. It was locked. and they said, "Hey, you got 10 minutes. to come out." He said, "All right, I'll. be right out." He never never came out. So, they started thinking this might be. something going on. They found him in. there. Then he was bad mouthing the fire. department. And they were like, "Listen,
[ __ ] you were the guy that got in. here. Don't yell at us." Uh, yeah. Uh, he never really gave the full story. after that. He didn't want to. I guess. the fire department said, but it was. it's a good it's good. It's a good. story. >> The amount of different the amount of. different times the portagon was telling. him, no. >> Yeah, this isn't going to work. Don't. worry about it. >> His head and shoulder stuck not being. able to get in there. Porter John the. Portagon is saying can't do it. He's. like, when there's a will, there's a. [ __ ] way. Forces his head down in. there, gets in there, brings his legs.
in. >> Yep. >> And then once he gets in there, so. accomplished of himself, I guess, was he. just gonna live there? Like what? We. need an interview. >> That was. >> I would guess certain death if you were. to sit there. >> That guy's dead for sure. >> You think he was trying to. >> He probably inhaled 15 different. people's pieces of poop. Like no matter. what, I think the mortality rate on that. >> 1500. >> Yeah. Bingo. >> Was he trying to creep on people and. trying to get people to come dump on him. while he was sitting in there? >> Wow. >> No, cuz it was locked.
>> Yeah, it was locked. >> Yeah, he was the one that was dumping. He was just hungry and he was like, "Need a [ __ ] [laughter]. need a board a body buffet. This thing. is loaded." After the US men's national. fire department did wash him off. afterwards with their fire hoses. >> from a very far distance doing nothing. That guy's going to smell like poop for. the next [ __ ] six years. >> Forever. >> I mean, anytime you do get kind of. marinated in [ __ ] and piss in a poor. John, you have to assume that's going to.
do something to you long term. Nonetheless, whenever you see something. like that, you can't help but just say, "Oh, no.". >> And ladies and gentlemen, that was Oh. [screaming]. no. >> All right. What a week. It's great to be. back. >> Long week. What a short week. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> Great one. >> It was a great week. >> It was. >> talks to the table. Great work, boys. >> You too, man. [applause]. One has a hammer.
>> Dad, >> Cowboys AP Tone. Good work. >> You. >> the other. >> What's that? >> You. Good work. >> Thank you. >> to you too, Tom. >> Thank you. >> Show the other half of the hammer. Dad, Cowboys, Bubble Gump, great work this. week, Gumpy. >> Good boy. Good work. >> Good luck to England this weekend, G. Oh, >> what' you say? >> It's a good luck to his England squad. >> Thank you. I'm actually going to take it. in because it'll probably be the last. game Thomas Tuc's on the touchline for. >> You guys are certainly trying to run him.
out of the country. >> Absolutely. Pep Guardiola's at the. wheel. Euros 2028. It's coming home. >> Well, sounds like Team USA might need a. coach as well. We'll see if Guardiola. decides to go home to England or. >> maybe become the father of a sport in an. entire country. >> Could. >> I don't know. You tell me which one you. choose. >> What if Lou decides to hang him up and. he just becomes the US men's national. team coach? I don't People say he's a. big time talker. >> So. >> yeah, but he carries a big stick.
>> Huge. >> stick. >> I want L to play. [ __ ] him being. >> No, I'm saying like let's. >> player coach. So [ __ ] if that's what it. takes for him. >> Let's say he doesn't play. That's all I. was. >> No, but I'm saying if it it's going to. take him to be considered an American, you know, because he's already played. for entertain a couple times and. technically he is from there. >> Yeah. And I think everybody says he's. from there, including him, would say. that. And he's won a World Cup for them. >> If we know the FIFA have very strict.
rules on a lot of things. >> Uhhuh. >> And the way they they're always by the. book. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> If we can get him in somehow by coach. like foreign coach. >> Yeah. >> And then he also Jackie Moons. >> I'm with that. I think we'd all be with. it. >> Yeah. I'd be with that for sure. >> We'd say Bonch. Yeah. >> Or Posh could be like, you know, assistant co bench coach or something. >> O' Greer kind of changed my mind. Like. >> he did. >> Yeah. He made some good points. Salient. points. >> Yeah. He said he could actually probably. have done what Ponch did when you think.
about. >> I mean they did win the group in all. fairness. They weren't favored to win. the group. If Bur Halter was at the. wheel, I doubt they would have done. anything at all. >> And our biggest worry was Turk, right? And they [ __ ] sucked. >> They did suck. But I don't know if GLA. has given us an answer for the grass. that is greener than Ponchettino. >> No. >> And maybe it's coach Miolo. >> Mhm. >> Could be coach Molo. [laughter]. >> Could be coach if I've been saying it. wrong this whole time. >> You're right. Tony Tony could be the.
answer. >> Dumpy, congrats on uh another five years. in America. >> Glad to be here. USA, USA, USA. >> When does the studying start for the uh. the test that you're definitely going to. do good on? >> I tell you what, if uh once I'm here for. 5 years, I can get the green card. So, you know, we we get that and then, you. know, after 10 years, we get the. citizenship. So, we we got a lot of.
time. >> We don't just get the citizenship. But. uh. >> well the green card we do get and the. green card is kind of the one that you. know you don't have to deal with any of. the other [ __ ] anymore which would. be really cool. >> which we're very thankful to deal with. Obviously this entire process has been. filled with incredible people and thank. you to everybody for being a part of. this over there in Washington DC. Uh we. we certainly do appreciate the hell out. of that. Uh but there's a test isn't. there at some point coming around Bend. or around Riverbend. >> about seven years from now. Yep. >> All right. Here's a couple qu here's.
sample here's sample for that. Okay. >> Oh, >> principles of American government. Question one. Gumpy. No phon of friends. happening here. Remember this is Gumpy. in the room. >> Okay. Tough subject too. >> His future with us depends on him. getting these right. What is the form of. government of the United States? Is it a. republic? Is somebody playing drums with their. microphone? >> Car's glasses. >> My glasses just fell off.
>> Are you okay? No, I've had a piss since. 130. So bad. [laughter]. But we're we're holding strong. >> What is the form of our government? [laughter]. >> Which is kind of a trick question, but. >> now we'll see. Is it a republic? [laughter]. Is it a constitution-based federal. republic or is it a representative. democracy? >> He's googling back here. >> Smart, isn't it? It's all four. >> It is all. Yeah. What is the supreme law.
of the land? >> Well, yeah, it's multiple choice. You. kind of get to see the questions before. this though. You get all the. >> What is the supreme law of the land? >> I don't know. You know, we got seven. years to figure that out. >> Jesus Christ. We We got to learn that. one. >> Yeah. Faith, liberty, the pursuit of. happiness. >> No, that is No, that is not the. principles of our country. >> Depending on where you go, you might. just be able to say like it's the right. to bear arms, [ __ ] And then. they might say, >> I think that's a part of it. Write that. in. >> What's the supreme law of the land,
Gumpy? >> How many What are the options? It's. multiple choice. [laughter]. >> H the questions, every question on the. citizenship test is multiple choice. >> All right. Constitution. A. B. Right to bear arms. >> That's a I like that one. I don't think. that's it, though. >> C. >> Faith, liberty, the pursuit of. happiness. >> That one's wrong. Said it already. >> D. None of the above. >> None of the above. >> Oh my god. We used. >> the Constitution gave it to you. Constitution. >> Who gave it? [laughter].
>> Do one more. At least one more. >> All right. Go down there. Go down. Keep. going. >> Geography. >> Uh, >> what year was Jay Feedler, the starting. quarterback of Miami? >> Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. [laughter]. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. How. many amendments does the US Constitution. have now that we learned about this. existing. >> multiple choices, please? Okay. A. 14, B 32,
C. 27, D. 25. >> I go with C 27. Good answer. >> What do How many of those do you have to. get right? How many of those do you. have? >> One. That's it. I got it. I'm in. >> No. In real life, what is the number you. >> I think there's 10 questions you get. asked, I believe. >> And you got to get what? Eight. >> Seven or eight. Oh, >> I think you're good. >> Uh, can you go down? Can you go down? >> I mean, we got one, bro. Please.
>> No. Here we go. Here we go. Here's up. Actually, uh, stop. Stop. Stop. What. founding document said the American. colonies were free from Britain? July 4th, 1776. >> A, >> you don't need the just know it. You You. don't need multiple choice for this one. >> You're [ __ ] killing me, Gumpy. Just. Just say the answer. You know this. >> There's a movie about the day.
>> he said it today. >> Confident. >> July 4th, also known as. >> 4th of July. >> Also, we got seven years. Will Smith. movie, >> also known as. >> Jeff Gold movie, >> Declaration of Independence. >> Hey, we got time.
>> The worry. There's no worries. We got. time. >> We got time. >> Mhm. >> We need to start now, though. >> I mean, green card, you know. >> How long can he green card it? >> Forever. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah. >> But don't we like to be a citizen? We. want that little flag. Don't they give. you like the little flag? I want to get. that picture for sure. >> Yeah. >> But like I said, the green card is a. good start. >> Okay. So, let's aim for that, I guess. Let's try to avoid any other 10-year. bans. >> cuz I think they they could you could do. something where they take that away.
They can't take away your citizenship. >> Uh they can they can just hang you from. a doororknob and then it's [laughter]. just kind of whatever. >> Fine spot. >> Well, it's interesting. I mean, certainly have to dive into that at a. later date. AJ, great work. All right, we'll be back next week. Have an. incredible weekend. We got a Major Foxy. We got to pay attention to that. Great. work this week back. Yes, sir. >> Bruce, great to see you back. Fresh from. Croatia. Uh Nick, great to see you, pal. To all the lads in the Thunderdome, let's continue to crush it. We. appreciate that. And uh yeah, this is a.
dream of a lifetime to be able to do. this for a living. And we can't thank. all of you enough. We appreciate you. And we will see you on Monday. Be a. friend. Tell a friend something nice. might change your life. Team on me. Team. on three. 1 2 3. Goodbye.
