good morning beautiful people it is. Friday February 7th 2020 a monumental. day in the history of radio it is a. feel-good Friday we'd like to hear from. you. 183 three six two two three three three. one what was your favorite thing that. happened in the week that was what do. you want to talk about for the weekend. what's a storyline that's intriguing to. you we want you to be a part of this. feel-good Friday one eighty three three. six two two three three three one back.
from the YouTube world. Boston Connor is joining us on the couch. he will be breaking down all the NBA. news he said yesterday that him coming. out of the room and out of the radio and. watching from behind the scenes and. cutting up the clips and such and. listening to the show from afar like a. player watching film he's gonna make him. a better radio person I'm excited to see. how he does with the NBA talked with. trade deadline happening at Nick.
Marauders on the ones and twos. congratulations to a man who's Italian. who might be the first person to ever. defeat the corona virus at tone Diggs is. back very very happy for you rocking a. SARS mask that's missed you yesterday. pal I lost like seven to eight pounds in. two days pretty awesome you were at the. diet at Ty Schmitt Jason McAfee Cubans. eats back there Evan foxy and bubblegum. Pinos on the phones we want to hear from.
you it's gonna be a great Friday lot. going on in the world a lot going on. there's questions being asked he's Tom. Brady gonna be a patriot if he isn't who. will be the quarterback for the New. England Patriots going into the future. Jimmy G has reportedly secured another. year as a 49er quarterback so everything. we talked about the hypothetical. yeah yeah technology everything we.
talked about with Jimmy G potentially. going back to New England seems like it. was all fraudulent which by the way a. lot of people told us in the comment. section when we posted that video I was. actually told what is this first take or. just a pat mcafee show Oh Pat's become a. hack looking for clicks well just. something for us to talk about the XFL. is this weekend we'll chat about that. ESPN reported that there was a hard. dough a rough deadline for the NFLPA in. the NFL to make an agreement on this new.
CBA which is by the way involving. billions of dollars and turns out that. was completely false the NFLPA came out. and said hey listen there is no deadline. when negotiating billions of dollars. ESPN had to retract that I would assume. that two sources or three sources told. whoever reported that because in the. ESPN source world they have to get. everything double-checked and then. whenever it got released somebody who. was in the negotiating party said excuse. me this it can't be accurate I don't. know who said this they had to then.
backpedal it's an interesting world that. insider game old Tony scoops will get to. the bottom of it for us Oscars are this. Sunday we'll talk about that we got Ike. Taylor and a Jayhawk joining us I mean. we're set up for a good Friday thank you. for joining us evan foxy please play. some chase rice. [Music].
you're damn right news chase rice I. appreciate you if you're new to the show. we can't thank you enough for spending. time either watching or listening to us. you're the absolute greatest on this. Friday February 7th now I think we got. picked up in a couple new syndicates or.
whatever a couple new radio stations. because there's normally an influx of 2. to 3 old White's that come to the. Twitter mentions they got like 2. followers their kids won't even follow. them and they go what do you say sports. show I'm like listen just turn the dial. just go ahead your old ass is still in. your beat-up truck just turn the dial to. the next place we're gonna have a good. one here we're gonna talk about all. things happening in the sports world. let's lead off the last two days we let. off with baseball okay big baseball news.
nobody knows what the hell is gonna. happen with that I like the fact that. the MLB is just stirring the pot today. we start out with the NBA news for to do. that lets go to our obnoxious friend. from Boston a Masshole through and. through Connor Campbell okay Pat here we. go this is what you gotta start off you. gotta have an intro the Los Angeles. Clippers yesterday ok probably made the. biggest trade of the trade deadline and. they got Marcus Morris from the New York. Knicks ok that's a big move because of. New York Knicks think it basketball.
they've always thunk at basketball and. good for Marcus Morris getting out of. the hellhole is that accurate. exactly but also a big move because. that's who the Lakers were going after. to the Clippers Burton Lakers were going. after the same guy just like they were. with Qui and the Clippers won again and. PG by the way correct ya know I mean. this seems like he's a return of the. tide between the Clippers and the Lakers. is the Bron James becoming the problem. for the Lakers or does LeBron and ad not. need anybody else and they're gonna run. the table we will find out stay tuned. after the all-star break oh they. definitely need someone else the Lakers.
yesterday lost to the Houston Rockets. who played a game without a player above. 6 6 and they still lost how does that. happen is that like is that the changing. a basketball like is basketball going. that direction and small ball is. becoming much more popular yeah. but Anthony Davis you think time. starting for the Lakers formerly of the. New Orleans pelicans the big unibrow. fella who's like 7 foot tall but he's a. great athlete you would think that would. be a weapon for you and a team not. playing anybody above 6 6 yep but I. guess not and they could not get the job. done.
what else another wash bomb the Miami. Heat wash wash bomb yeah no it's Louis. but it's wash another wash bomb the. Miami Heat got much better they got. Andre Iguodala and Jae Crowder from the. Memphis Grizzlies I think we touched. upon the drama between it with Allah and. the Memphis Grizzlies so the heat now. much better to Audrey with Dolloff. perennial all-star for the Sixers world. champion with the Golden State Warriors. runner-up for sixth man of the year I. was yelled at by MBA Twitter yesterday. for saying he wanted a Sixth Man of the.
Year he did not want to play for the. Memphis Grizzlies demanded to be moved. he's now with the Miami Heat and he. signs for a two-year thirty million. dollar deal 15 million of that. guaranteed gilfer on Jake would that. look good for Jae Crowder can't wait for. the Memphis Grizzlies to take on the. Miami Heat and seeing if he Bo's get. thrown because Jimmy Butler's down there. and that guy is not scared to fight. anybody that could make basketball. immediately interesting I'm here for the. Memphis Grizzlies Miami Heat battle. absolutely Pat in laughs thanks Connor. and probably the last big trade we had.
was DeAngelo Russell going to the. Minnesota Timberwolves and Andrew. Wiggins going to the Golden State. Warriors Oh Andrew Wiggins great. basketball player back in the day is. he's still good I didn't think so but. NBA Twitter reacted like the NBA players. who were tweeting yesterday they all. tweeted that Wiggins was gonna thrive in. Golden State well they stink sure they. do they think Wiggins is gonna be like a. second coming of Iguodala okay kind of a. rebirth of a career which is what. happened for Andre up there do they. still have Kevin Durant up there no he's.
at Brooklyn okay remember they didn't. like him they didn't like him at all and. everybody said he was a snake cuz he. went to the champion or whatever and now. he's gone that team stinks they might. get the number one pick though with clay. Steph and Wiggins and dream on next year. they're gonna be back very quickly well. I am Steve Kerr let's not talk about. Steve Kerr is just so you know. unbelievable coach you've got to sit. back there change basketball completely. say we're gonna get a bunch of shooters. let's go ahead and change the world and. now having foxy who has finally made a.
shot with a camera on has a chance to. potentially be an NBA Sunday because he. can shoot a three and that's all you. really need all right thanks for that. NBA news carnita great they're a. was okay and also Detroit got much. better by the way much worse. sorry they blew it up Detroit basketball. got worse than it was. it's the whole city whole team hey it's. alright map Patricia's gonna ride on a. nice pony through that town I can bring. winning football back to the Motor City. that's all we need they sent that on our.
best center Andre Drummond to Cleveland. so he went from Detroit Cleveland that's. tough for a bag of balls basically for. nothing somehow by the way I think I. think many people would argue that's a. little bit of a how close is Michigan. State to Detroit that's a good question. our guys are kind of spilling into the. Detroit problems too you know what I. mean well they had the problems first. and then they carry them over to East. Lansing Oh Detroit did yes the Red Wings. you guys used to be called hockey town.
now it's Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. oh the red ones stink right yeah yeah. they're terrible worst team in the. league the Pistons just traded their. best player no quarterback for your. football team has a broken back you know. Michigan State's falling apart yellow. Ford how are they doing. oh not great for verse 4 about their. stock for Tigers are the worst team in. baseball to portatree you guys don't. deserve it that's right I don't deserve. it but it's my duty as a national sports.
broadcaster to make sure everybody knows. just how rock-bottom it is for the. Detroit sports fans every team stinks. Michigan State stinks there engulfed in. drama and controversy on a regular basis. the only good thing that people are. gonna say ever came out of Detroit when. I was probably Eminem and gene Simmons. and Kid Rock yeah kiss and kissing that. that kid nf is a rapper nowadays he's. from Detroit as always exactly like.
Eminem he does and then it was Evan foxy. but now he's an alumni of a school that. was just selling terrible things yeah. we're in a bad spot also it's Matthew. Stafford's birthday today. I would like to gift Matthew Stafford a. healthy back so we can watch him throw. the rock all the round the yard yet. again next year I like Matt watching. Matty staff can I drop some stats for. you on his birthday sure among all-time. NFL cubies through age 31 Stafford. ranked 1st in past attempts 1st.
incompletions 2nd in passing yards third. in passing touchdowns tied for third in. games started that's my quarterback and. that was a shot on me the entire time. because before you chose to read off. those incredible stats yeah I'm not. gonna multitasking that's really good. let's get to Erin in Texas Erin what's. up pal feel good Friday how you feeling. are you doing Pat first time calls for. time Lester I love you boys downer.
Darlington is that so well I mean. Arrington still wears the way from our. past oh but you know I I'll be thinking. about you we've been a Texas 14 times. this fall not a bad state by the way. good people down there every time we've. been there and the Brazos River treated. me very well. baptize me in a lot of cash I think Erin. what would you like to talk about. brother I want to talk to you guys about.
a be publicly apologizing recently for. pretty much everything he's done in the. recent months he's back with his baby. mama he's possibly fighting Logan Paul. do you think with his public apology in. hand with possible popularity coming. with that fight does the NFL take a. second look at him do teams with new. coaches and new staffs with something to.
prove wanna sign a B please great. question there I mean we're getting a. little rambley at the end but yeah. that's a great question Antonio Brown. has been on a very much apology tour a. hopefully a Redemption tour for his. entire name sake basically now I am. wondering with the turn of the tide here. and this all happening this is also. happening directly after we talked to. juju by the way I don't know if anybody. has recognized this. than me and us and this everything has. kind of happened after we talked to juju. where I had to ask him the question.
about Antonio Brown because that is a. big time thing if you understand juju. and Antonio Brown their beef became a. real one and it came out of nowhere. dumpy who runs the Pat McAfee show. quotes account on Twitter quoted my. question is saying a bee is a known. hater of yours did that come out of. nowhere in any added a bee and he added. juju juju 'he's answer was he didn't. know was coming because whenever we were. teammates together Pittsburgh we were. talking about being great together we. both had a thousand yards whenever her. teammates gather blah blah blah a bee. liked that tweet then a bee unfollowed.
me. okay so dumpy is directly the reason why. I'm talking about it stop following me. on Twitter which is understandable but. since then it feels as if he has gone. out. on a mission to make sure people know. like hey I understand that the last year. of my life has been a bit chaotic from a. PR front I understand that I've made a. lot of mistakes he apologized not only. do the teams that he played for and got. traded from her left he apologized to. the whole NFL he was just saying I would. like to let the entire NFL know I.
apologize for everything that's. happening and I wonder as somebody my. mom worked for a psychiatrist for a bit. as a secretary and obviously I've had. some friends or some mental health stuff. there is a thing too whenever you find. the right medicine right and your. chemicals get balanced it is something. that can legitimately happen I don't say. overnight you can't but if you're about. if your chemicals get balanced there is. a massive step that gets made. I wonder if Antonio Brown went to a. psychiatrist or psychologist figured out.
something was wrong God his brain right. and this is gonna be the Antonio Brown. of the future or is this just 1,000%. Antonio Brown understanding that he's in. a very bad spot right now he's still on. house arrest he still has no teams. interested there's still an NFL. investigation pending and he just. finally like was like oh I gotta really. try to fix this or is this something. like the new and turning around is gonna. be I honestly don't know I do think if. this is the continues to be the Antonio. Brown the apology tour continues and he.
continues to be humble and all this. stuff I am betting a lot of money that. an NFL team will sign Antonio Brown. there is not. better for the NFL that acting as if not. acting as if actually giving Antonio. Brown a second chance after Antonio. Brown has had a problem that would be. something they would be proud of I think. by the way now granted the allegations. against him from the former strength. coach I think he had to condition the. conditioning coach to chef whatever lady. was those are gonna have to be very much. investigated by the NFL and by.
authorities if those are accurate he. won't but let's let's let's not assume. anything but if those become things that. aren't real. I think Antonio Browns back in the NFL. for sure yes I listen the whole. interview yesterday he is seeing a. mental specialist a mental health. professional so if he very well could. have figured out something of some sort. of medication or something like that he. it does seem like he is in just a better. place and realized what he died already. did I think if he stays on this course. there's no chance that the NFL does not.
someone does not bring him back he does. still hate you you very much yeah that's. what it sounded like he apologized to. Ben he apologized to the Rooneys he. apologized to the Steelers apologized to. every human that has ever worked in the. NFL except for me from following me and. he did not he did not apologize to juju. at all it didn't seem well no he was. very upset like he was very upset. because juju posted a picture of him. scoring a touchdown against the Raiders. like right after a bee went there he. took that as a shot seems like so well. hopefully they'll Center the differences. to and hopefully a bee this will be.
continued to be a bee because in the. world of professional sports it's be who. you can afford to be Antonio Brown is an. incredible wide receiver and if he can. get this humble tour this apology tour. and it's real and it's genuine he'll be. back in a league next season for sure. now the question is if he was on the. Patriots this year do they win the. Superbowl easily what you say that I. think they do I think if he was on the. Patriots each year they would witness it. for sure not for a couple different.
reasons Bill Belichick uses his weapons. as punt returners. Antonio Brown was a punt returner he. would have set Tom Brady up for great. field position regardless because how. good their defense was right then do I. have to move a couple times to get a. field goal depending upon who's kicking. your field goals but Antonio Brown takes. a lot of attention away from Julian. Edelman that like it just becomes a. whole new situation as opposed to. Grunk eating up a lot of attention open. up other people now you get in Tonio. Brown doing it because the respect. around defenses around lead for Antonio. Brown is a massive one I think they.
actually would have had a chance to win. a Super Bowl if Antonio Brown was on. their team and we hang on to Josh Gordon. if a B stays I mean that whole offense. is so much different well Jeff Gordon. end up being suspended never I think. once he left New England if he stayed in. New England it's a whole different story. [Laughter]. speculation that wherever Tom goes he's. gonna try and build a quote unquote NFL. super team and that he's been staying in. touch with a B through social media he's. been very supportive of a B throughout. this whole thing Tom's gonna go be a GM.
somewhere as well as the starting QB you. know how everybody would take pay cuts. to chase the ring like at the end of. your career you take a pay cut it's. called chasing the ring or whatever. right just trying to get one trying to. get one Tom's gonna be like hey I need. you to take a massive pay cut because I. finally got paid alright everybody knows. that but I mean we can if you want to. call a couple your friends to like we. can recruit this thing and just become. like a retirement home almost and we. just go ahead and cut and slice and dice. the entire NFL that'd be awesome. what if you did that in Tennessee. Tennessee has 28 free agents that means.
they probably have a lot of salary cap. opening up and a lot of positions. opening up what if Tom's just around. there scout and everybody down in Music. City hey your love - for Tony you want. to be a musician everywhere we got to. get to a break it would be insane if Tom. Brady brought in Tony O'Brien where. everyone Colts have enough money to do. it a lot of money and we need another. weapon if that's the case you can count. out Oakland. there's Las Vegas because there's no way. in hell mike Mayock bringing him back.
he's never released me my rap songs I'll. be intrigued to see if the rapping. continued oh he could not fight that. fight if you want to get back in ya know. ya can't do cuz that's just suspected. yeah you can do it but if he needs money. and he's about to get Y like 3 million I. think for it is what the number has been. up to which is interesting. yeah they're paying the money we'll see. it was four point one and it could earn.
up to eight point two escalators. people off over there yeah good for them. every night local police departments. across America receive hundreds of calls. from burglar alarms the vast majority of. the time they have no idea whether the. alarm is real they often ask is there. really a crime going on or not all the. alarm company can tell them is the. motion sensor went off simply say if. home security is different if there's a. break-in simply say fuses real video. evidence to give police an eyewitness. account of the crime that means police.

welcome back to the I shoulda be welcome. back to the Batman G show here Friday. February 7th 26 minutes after the first. hour a jet pack was just created I guess. which by the way is probably gonna. change my life forever if you know. anything about me. I've been tweeting Elon Musk under every. single tweet that he puts out asking him. begging him pleading for him to make a.
jetpack so that we could just you know. hop into the future like we're supposed. to be in already I would be the first. one to buy it there's no questions about. it in Elon Musk has refused to get back. to me he's created a Tesla that is a car. that's faster than the Lombardi Barney's. fashion the Lombardi to faster than. Ferraris faster than Porsches that and. it's all electric and you just plug it. into your house right nobody thought. that could happen he's because he's an. alien right he's from another planet he. usual eise's what they do comes to a.
back to planet Earth utilizes their. incredible technology and in process. creates it here makes a billion dollars. then it gives away how to do it to. everybody else then he hops in his. little SpaceX rocket goes back to his. planet gets a new idea comes back does. it again and again and if their planet. hasn't created a jetpack yet I'll be. very surprised all I'm asking is the. next time you long must goes is he goes. and gets the jetpack cheat code and. comes back to Planet Earth with it that.
would be very nice of him it seems like. another company has created a jetpack I. don't know if that's a part of group or. not but I am all about turning my. allegiances to them if they are willing. to make a jetpack for me so we know the. technologies there so now he just needs. to come up with a sleek design because I. don't know if I like thrusters on the. hand. I'm slightly worried about blowing your. arms off I mean there's a lot of things. to worry about with it there's a lot of. things to worry about I mean how about. it stopping mid-flight and me just. crashing to earth that is something he.
could be very worried about a jet engine. being strapped to your back there's. another thing he could be worried about. but boy I'm willing to give it a go and. I honor percent trust Elon Musk would be. able to put it together I mean he'd. build a truck with such a durable glass. shatter but glasses and windows and a. little tiny little rock pebble but that. became a marketing move I bought the. cyber truck as well as did Zito I mean. anything you I must does I'm all-in just. strictly because he is an alien that has. come to our planet with future. technology have you ever heard his.
parents speak have you ever heard of a. member of his family speak have you ever. seen him try to smoke weed the guy who's. been on from our planet no childhood. photos either not never gonna meet never. seen him eat or drink either no and now. he's negotiating deals with cities to. build these tunnels in like four days. like it took like 75 years to build. tunnels in these places and he's just. getting to plow down there it's like a. little drill he's a girl here you go LA. to Las Vegas I don't need any money from. the city I'll just collect the tickets. for the rest of all time he did it in. Chicago he set up that mayor and Manuel.
what guy like I've never seen before. mayor mania is like we're getting a. tunnel system from the from the city to. the airport which I guess like a. 30-minute drive for people is that right. Z you're from Chicago. yeah so Elon Musk goes to the mayor you. go say listen I'll build a tunnel to get. people from the city to the airport you. don't have to you don't have to pay me. anything I'm not expecting anything I. would just like two tickets forever the. mayor was like deal so 25 bucks for. every single human that hops on that.
thing for the rest of time it's going. right into Elon Musk's pocket all. because he went to his planet found a. way to build tunnels quicker and he's. off and running. Elon Musk is an alien and you'll never. be able to convince me otherwise and I. wish he would utilize his unidentified. brain to make a jetpack so this world. could be a lot better how about the. hoverboard that was in Back to the. Future we don't even really have that. yet at some point we need to really. start advancing things because we're. starting to embarrass our humans you. know what I mean. all right like our ancestors would be. very embarrassed.
the lack of technology that we've got -. I think so - especially when you look at. me he's he's self landing-rockets. so maybe let's let's move the jet pack a. little higher on the agenda flamethrower. thank you other people have made. flamethrowers I appreciate you just. having fun and making that I very much. appreciate it. let's get to a damn jetpack Elon Musk. I'm sick about this let's get the Nick. in Kentucky Nick what's up pal that's a.
shame cuz he had the thing I want to. talk about was feel good Friday he kind. of got it everybody else has their own. thing they want to talk about Nick. really got it he just has no idea how to. speak into a damn phone that's a shame. let's get to Kenan in New York Kenan. what's up pal hey how's it going hey. there pal how's it going downer and it's.
pretty snowy up here thanks Serena stylo. with those labors I just want to ask a. ask a question real quick what do you. think about the XSL being a sufficient. feeder system to the the NFL like the. AHL or triple-a baseball to the MLB I. respect that I think everybody's always. wanted the minor league for the NFL the. minor league for the NFL's college. football everybody knows that the minor. league for the NFL is college football. and they're the only profession that the.
the minor league doesn't get paid to be. the minor league they just get. opportunities be presented in front of. the national broadcast they get chances. to basically try out an audition in. front of a lot of people and they get. guaranteed a lot of money if they do. well and all that stuff I get the. benefits of the minor league system. being college football and if XFL wants. to help with that with guys who maybe. couldn't make it maybe they get cut from. a couple of teams they go there and then. they get a chance to kind of put on. again I thought that's what the AFL was. gonna be I thought the AFL was gonna be.
a chance for guys who maybe aren't. coming fresh out of college to have a. combine to have a Senior Bowl type. moment where coaches can watch see what. they need see who's doing well and pluck. them the AFL was just riddled with so. many. problems that that never really came to. fruition I'd assume that that is what. the XFL becomes guys who maybe been in. the league two years on practice squads. three years on practice squads but could. never really make the cut and maybe. people forgot about them because they. were hidden on somebody's practice squad. for so long in that particular team. either got a new GM a new coach they cut.
them nobody even knows about him or. forgets about them. I think the XFL could be a chance for. those guys to potentially make a play or. it could just become this gladiator fast. new style of football that people just. love for its own being which I am very. excited to see how this goes this. weekend I think it benefits those. practice squad guys or the kids who come. out of college and think they're gonna. get drafted and then don't get drafted. and then don't make a roster then maybe. they retool and focus on the XFL and. then get back in the NFL yeah I think it. I think it's gonna serve a purpose I.
think it is good I think another good. league in America is good now the CFL. III enjoy the CFL right like in the. summer going in the training camp the. CFL is on I enjoy it a couple of my old. teammates ended up up in the CFL but I. think there's rules about how many. Americans you get have on the team and. everything like that so I think another. league in America is good I think that's. why everybody is excited for the XFL I'm. just excited to see how it works out I. assume players will end up there if they. can't make it in the NFL though yeah I. mean I don't know they reported how much.
guys are making cuz isn't that the. ultimate thing where it's like idea at a. certain points like well I can't keep. doing this if I could go beyond a. practice squad and you know me making a. lot more money practice about guys I. think make like the hundred grand or. something we got a year really yeah I. think so they got to go ham on. Wednesdays and Thursdays and Fridays. then they uh they get stay at home team. yeah I think it's like a hundred grand. if you say the whole year I think I. don't know but you normally not they're. the entire year right normally you're. there for a couple weeks you get let go. they come back what's up Zito uh I said. maximum salaries go up to $27,000 yeah.
but I think they paid the quarterbacks. more than that too right cuz. quarterbacks weren't allowed to go to. the NFL they were like locked in. quarterbacks for the franchise's were. locked in I assume they got paid more. and I assume it's slotted by position. like they did the first time around. NFL practice squad players make a. minimum of eight thousand a week if. they're on the practice squad all year. they make a hundred thirty six thousand. there we go I love my brain let's get to. Nathan in Ohio. what's up Nathan what's up how you doing. hey not too shabby. talking to a guy from Ohio I don't know. what part of Ohio he's in but I can't.
wait to find out what he wants to talk. about all right so I was just wondering. who you currently think is playing in. the NFL that could coach are you in. class were you at work where are you. right now Nathan we had a snow day today. oh so you're at home what grade are you. in eat. you're an eighth grade you listen to. this show mm-hmm Oh No. do you watch everyday or like when. you're at school you can't watch I tried.
to watch everyday I'm like very. conflicted here because I would like to. say thank you I appreciate you for. watching and we're probably teaching you. more about actual life than those. classes are but if you fail out and be a. buffoon and a dummy I don't want to be a. part of that Nathan you have to make. sure you get good grades while you're. doing this two things at the same time. type thing you know what I mean oh I am. [Applause]. the show what are you gonna be when you. grow up do you have any idea at eighth.
grade I don't think you should know but. what are you thinking is potentially I. want to be just like you and be a. podcast and have my own podcast okay. well alright I like that a lot what are. we gonna are you gonna go to the NFL. first and say you do that next week you. start podcast right now oh I'm more of a. baseball guy oh do you play baseball are. you just kind of a fan I play baseball. what position do you think right now.
future head coach Nathan I appreciate. you pal. um I don't know like for instance one of. my old teammates Colt Anderson whose. nickname was them I like that. conversation with him by the way eighth. grade honorable students listen this. show no big deal Tim McAfee parents have. a bumper sticker yeah absolutely my kid. yeah on Wall Street should think about.
cheating more if you want to play. baseball. Oh truly I mean it's eighth grade his. role model is all right now bang on. trash. and they look at Apple watches and they. wear buzzers on their chest that's what. his role models do that's why this show. is not like that no no no we want him to. actually get better not we hate Nathan. I'm as what professional baseball player. which is what you're looking to be an is. a podcaster I would I want you to get. your eyes right. the better your eyes are the better you.
are at baseball very true since I held. four field goals with Venna Terry which. is a lot to do with laces and stuff like. that and it's all happening in like one. point two five seconds from snap to kick. I honestly believe that that helped me. with baseball I when I stepped in the. batter's box for the first time in my. life I faced off against again he was. drafted by the Brewers the Brewers okay. throwing 92 mile an hour fastball had. never stepped into a batter's box before. I could see it though like I could see. the ball the entire time and everybody.
said oh you won't be if you can see it. you're in a good spot you won't be able. to see it where I could see the entire. damn I could even see the laces coming. up grant that curveball almost knocked. me but I think you got to get your eyes. right first Nathan then also we need a. little base in that voice okay I thought. you were hiding from somebody the way. you were speaking you have a good brain. Nathan okay you listen to the show. you're an honor-roll student when you. speak people should hear it put a little. bass in that thing Nathan and if people. don't like it you tell them to go. fornicate themselves and let them know. that you don't like them either if they.
don't like you you probably don't like. them either. to hell with them put a little bass in. that voice Nathan let's have a good time. now I don't know if you have bass your. voice an eighth grade I don't think I've. ever spoken to a human in eighth grade. in a long time if he doesn't just start. smoking nope don't do that that's bad. advice for Nathan. stupid so stupid dump that Donna I mean. we can't have a show just promoting very. very very very for God's the kid just. had SARS I mean I guess we should get. past it brains no but don't work for. camel. [Laughter].
I think though I think the the coaching. thing that is so a lot of backup. quarterbacks probably gonna be good. coaches because that's pretty much what. they do for a lot of the time right. they're coaching they're looking at film. they're picking up towels they're. spending a lot of hours doing something. without playing right that's what backup. quarterbacks do they spend a lot hours. in the film room they spend a lot of. hours strategically setting up the. offense they spend a lot of hours. helping out the quarterback whether it's.
with a step or something like that they. do homework and they don't play. ultimately I think the big thing for. whether or not a player becomes a good. cook like I think I'd be a good coach if. I wanted to be but there's no way in. hell I want to spend my life doing that. they are in there for 18 hours a day 19. hours a day during the season that's. like six months and then they get like. three weeks off and then they're right. back in the combines scouting it's a. real lifestyle so I think the people you. got to look for are the people that. obviously are in a position of doing. that in the past I think backup. quarterbacks for that my guy cold. Anderson who is my punt protector.
whenever I was at the Indianapolis Colts. he's the worst quarterback in documented. history of the NFL he's the one who took. the snap from Griff Whelan the ball. wasn't supposed to get snapped he. obviously got sacks by the New England. Patriots and will live on for him for me. forever in the worst fake punt of all. time he's becoming a special teams coach. for the Cincinnati Bengals. like there's a lot of guys that have a. lot of football knowledge it's just. whether or not they want to commit their. time to coaching so I think it's hard to. tell who would want to do that but in my. eyes you look at the backup quarterbacks. I think those are people drew Stanton's. gonna be a great coach in the NFL he was.
with the Arizona Cardinals with Carson. Palmer for a long time he's anyone over. that Browns over there the last couple. years he'll be a coach in the NFL if I. had to guess or a scout or something. along those lines like look for those. guys the backup quarterback doc Hodges. couldn't be a great coach then Alex. Smith at Castle Alex Smith all these be. these are the guys that are gonna be. good coaches because they already spend. the amount of time that coaches spend. looking at film and they don't play in. anything like that I think those are. more like it Matt Matt Schaub is still. in the NFL I think it's as 39th year. possibly Ryan Fitzpatrick Fox he just.
dropped in there that is Harvard guy. he's - there's only gonna coach for five. years cuz he played so he's 85 buddy but. if you have a good backup quarterback. you have another coach on the roster. that's basically why you bring in. backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was. brought in for Andrew Luck like I think. Matt Hasselbeck would be a great coach. but I don't know if he wants to spend. his life coaching you don't I mean. Orlovsky another guy that people have. already asked to be a coach would be a. great coach does he want to spend his. life coaching hey that's just it's a. massive commitment coaches don't get. enough respect coaches don't get enough.
respect for their work ethic although. some of them make very very stupid. decisions I think that is something very. much so the fact that the enemy didn't. get a head coaching gig is wild to me. Michelle to this day next year II well. maybe if the right situation pops up we. gotta get to a break and we got Ike. Taylor on we missed it yeah well that. will calm them see the answers yeah. we'll call it we're back on the other. side it's a tie back for sure Ike Taylor. joining us on the other side.

street you're a late hey hey keep it 100. will you please keep it 100 with us we. all the way late over here. turnt as well hey is there any way you. can stick around to into the next hour. with us cuz we got you leo. okay that's cool I got a couple. questions for you like alright cool when. you're in your contract negotiations did. you ever think about holding out or.
anything like that like dak Prescott. right now allegedly now Steven Jones. said it's fixing to heat up with him so. who knows what that means then there was. a reporter who's gonna get franchise tag. then there was talks about whether or. not he should hold out is that something. that ever happened with you around you. and what how do you feel about that. entire situation as you I don't know if. you know but you know they called me I. crony I was real cool with the Ronnie. family and papad and Mr Dan Rooney are I. be so holding out one devil issue with. me um as a matter of fact.
Omar Connor he's the contract guy for. the Pittsburgh Steelers so yeah I'll. give you a few stories on it was a. cut-off limit for me and I went up to. mr. Rooney in his office and I'm like. pop oh man we can't set out a quote for. extra five hundred five hundred thousand. and walk back downstairs and he told the. contract guy after he told him no more. money for a tailor good I'll get a young. man x5 way to cut out that middleman by.
the way those hey every team has a guy. it's a lawyer he's you're their lead. counsel he's the guy who is basically. sent out right from either the GM or the. owner this is how much you're allowed to. give this one that position is it. terrible that guy is in a terrible. position you just completely. undercutting that guy's entire. livelihood known straight to the owners. maybe one of my favorite negotiation. stories in the history of the NFL. yes stuck in the pic I kinda I kind of. put Omar in a pickle because I've been. oh my for a minute but he was just going.
off with mr. Rooney his. most man told them but I'm like you know. what man I figure I'm a little bit more. let me see if I can squeeze a little. more juice out that let me so I wound up. squeezing a little more juice on their. living I got my extra filing for you. like now for dak Prescott 27 million. guaranteed if he signs that franchise. tag if he gets franchise tag Stephen. Jones says it's fiction to heat up for. him nice little Texas Southern Talk. right what do you think happens with Dec.
how do you think it goes and if you get. franchise tag your deck Prescott after. all you've earned and deserved do you. hold out or do you sign that thing and. just move forward with more money. hopefully in the future people I mean. people don't really I I get it you want. to learn long-term contracts but at the. same time 27 guaranteed is fully that's. fully guarantee so that might be looking. at a guaranteed one over three years. over three years span you know so that's. that's how NFL contracts the NFL owners.
like to do it they like to spread the. money over three years or two between 18. and 24 months you gonna get your money. but 27 million man I'm just going back. to how Julius Peppers how they kept. franchise tagging him a Charles Woodson. all know if you remember like boom boys. getting 15 15 15 I think drew. juniors problems getting like 18 21 then. you got another 18 all that's fully. guaranteed of course I know these guys. want their money and AK 1 is money but.
at the end of the day for that one year. that's fully guaranteed regardless on. what happens that's so much money man I. mean it is so much I understand and now. granted let's say he balls out again. with Mike McCarthy's offense let's. assume that Mike McCarthy will be able. to drop some route concepts that'll. probably help out deck a little bit more. knee has his best career yet and then. he's up for that patch bombs types money. if he gives them any type of run at all. next year cuz there's a Cowboys they're. America's team is Jerry's team that's. what Revis was doing who's basically. franchising himself yeah and you know.
like one your contracts you know exactly. so you can't nothing but at the same. time I get why Jack wants his money man. I mean no disrespect to Jared golf and. carson wentz like that like come on man. like these guys getting paid and i'm. looking at these guys then got paid. and they didn't got a hundred million. guarantee so no I'm not I'm not by to. take a hometown discount because the two. guys between Jared golf and Carson Wentz. data take a hometown discount then he's.
looking at what Patrick my homes might. get PMAC fresh from the homes might get. 200 million he might get a hundred fifty. guarantee hey did you see did you see. the clip of Patrick mahomes calling the. play call on that third and 15 he called. it a wasp I guess it's a route technique. that makes the safety flip his hips. especially with Tyree kill Patrick was. called to play the enemy and Andy Reid. made it happen and that was the turning. point on NFL I mean Patrick mahomes is. the guy though I mean that is the guy. right now we and I was talking to my oh. jeez that cigar boy yesterday and what I.
was trying to tell him was like I was. good. Casey Hampton was elite who played for. us the defensive tackle. Troy was special like Patrick mahomes. like Jerry golfing Jerry golf was good. dak is good to some standpoint carson. wentz he can play on an elite level. Patrick my home's a special doll like. you you just you just gotta acknowledge.
that you see it you see it if someone is. trying walked into the building even as. a rookie as soon as he stepped on a. field everybody knew oh damn by the play. with a Hall of Fame like that's that's. this idea so and no special guys come. every they don't come around too often. Coby special Jordan special every. special on Steve Atwater special Ronnie. like special Troy special like they.
don't come around like I was good but. you know I'm just gonna be honest like. but yeah keep Matt gonna get paid but. with that ones from what do you want. from the Cowboys it's gonna be that. Jerry golf that Carson Wentz and he just. he's looking at what Patrick knows by. the defense applause 150 guarantee I. I think maybe even more but I think.
Roger Goodell is currently in. conversations with the hunt family. telling them hey listen whatever Patrick. mahomes asked for you go ahead and know. that the rest of the NFL is ready to. bring all of our Brinks trucks to you to. make sure you're Patrick mahomes remains. the face of Kansas City remains the face. of the NFL and licious keep him happy I. we got to get to a break in a little bit. you're gonna stick around in the second. hour I want to talk to you about Troy. Polamalu though okay come on Troy. Polamalu ruin my life he ruined a lot of. quarterbacks life but you said a lot of.
people dude and he was a cool guy from. what I heard why quiet assassin I was. like I will think he was it just you can. cut off assassin and just keep that. beginning he was a quiet ass to me you. know what I mean ruin my life someone. finished it off with a sassy yeah we'll. talk about him on the other side we'll. talk about more with Ike Taylor two-time. Super Bowl champ feelgood Friday. February 7th 2020 I don't know where. you're listening or watching but we.

you're damn right it is chase rice from. bachelor Fame the album part one is out. the album part two is coming I. appreciate him singing that song for. free that's good news joining us at. Boston Connors here out of the u-tube. hole he was in filling in for Billy. Edna called us on the ones and twos tone. Diggs is here refresh office ours in the. coronavirus Tosh met Jason McAfee they. call him Cubans eat he still here with.
smelly feet oh my god he hasn't showered. in a week or two I haven't foxy in. puzzle comfy no in joining us via. FaceTime as a man as two-time Super Bowl. champ friend of the show mr. Ike Taylor. mr. Taylor welcome back thank you for. sticking around okay. in the first hour we start a. conversation and you talked about how in. the NFL there are some players that are. good you classified yourself as that I. would argue that there are some people. that are great and elite and then.
there's some players that are just. special now granted normally those. special players are the ones that end up. in the Hall of Fame but we were talking. about Patrick mahomes and you said that. you could tell from day one when Troy. Polamalu walked into the Pittsburgh. Steelers facility that you knew you were. playing alongside a hall-of-famer what. was it about Troy that just made them so. different and as a follow-up question. maybe help spark your mind a little bit. Pro Football Focus ready to be the. punter of the decade no big deal thank. you so much it's great to be here the.
Pro Football Focus always has people. question it right because they score. every single play for every single. player four kickers and punters it's. very easy to see if we did we're. supposed to do but for other positions. like in the secondary you have no idea. what one person supposed to do a safety. might supposed to be covering for a. corner there am I supposed to blitz oh. maybe somebody gets a bad rating from. them when it's not what they're supposed. to do pro Football Focus can't tell. what's going on there so that's kind of. the knock on it well Troy Polamalu. did you guys have any clue what he was. doing or was he just kind of in his own.
world and he was like that was he like. that since day one in the jump so. everybody knows Troy is strong in his. faith right so about two or three ball. once a quarter and we used to say to our. guard told you to be right here because. you. this was gonna happen why he don't talk. to us like you feel me you feel me P max. hello Troy just had his thing his.
nickname for for some part was baby. Jesus we used to call the baby Jesus. you know Troy Troy just knew things was. gonna happen before even happening. he didn't shares information well nobody. shares information when nobody was he. didn't want anybody else to get out of. character so if he did message though he. can just say it was all on him he didn't. he don't wanna bring nobody down from. with him but Troy was that and think. whatever he saw whatever he saw him tape. whatever you saw in the field you didn't.
hesitate on on saying that believing it. in making that play but it was just a. lot of instinctive things god-given. abilities like I had the ability to be. fast jump I couldn't catch what I could. tackle and talk to him like but but then.
it was all about we you know Troy Troy. really made the locker room as a guy. being that special you can just. genuinely say like George is a good soul. man what we don't like it was never. about I like we had to get Troy from. star weighing a to strap our tennis. shoes you know the 2-stroke tennis shoes. the grumpy bro you got too much money. but you gotta come to some conference. okay.
so when you're watching film the next. day though right and the film's breaking. down and some teams I don't know if this. sounds steel is worth but the good plays. from the game before they would. highlight it from each particular like. offense here's a couple good plays that. we think really sparked the difference. because a lot of coaches his messages. are like hey a lot of the game is just. sparring and then there's a couple plays. that are the big hits and you have no. idea when the play is coming the play. doesn't care who makes it but these are. the plays we feel like really busted. open right so they were like we'd play. an offensive play and then they would. ask the person like hey why'd you do.
this why'd you do this I felt this I. feel like if there was ever to be a. tape of a lot of what Troy Polamalu does. it'll be a lot of the D coordinator. which was the legendary what's-his-name. Dick LeBeau both Dick LeBeau turning to. him and going like so how did we know. how did we know that this was going to. happen he'd you just decided to jump. over the offensive line like was there. ever that conversation was everybody. like oh yeah that's just what TP does. like that's just how it does yeah he was. just that creative just like off the. script like a spur of the moment like TP.
like how do you how do you play in a. secondary and know a cadence of a. quarterback for 60 snaps and they still. jumping outside so how do you on the fly. off of emotion notre caters to the. quarterback and get the quarterback for. a sack or tackle for loss oh you've been. talking to Jesus agony how you get to do.
that but roll which is very instinctive. he was different he was this unique and. no plays like you say just time in a. snap count not getting off size and. making a play on floor from one when he. needed to that's what they see they'll. find that interview that he just did. with that guy for head and shoulders. where he talked about why he ruined my. life I think it's like four minutes into. that a lot of people enjoy the story of. me I had a chance to score a touchdown. in Pittsburgh it was a prime-time game. we had a fake field goal set up right it. was a hundred percent or Ike you know in.
the world of football and film they. don't say anything's 100 percent but. whenever something's a hundred percent. okay listen to someone it's hey this is. it we got a walk-in we didn't even have. a check out we didn't even have like a. black out of the call was like hey we. are doing this if we're in this. situation if we're inside like the six. yard line on the left hash we have a we. have a guarantee walk-in touchdown and I. was like awesome I'm gonna score a. touchdown in Pittsburgh if this happens. we end up in that situation I'm like oh. my god like I am gonna score a touchdown. in Troy just like - what you said had a.
little conversation with the Jesus man. he was like hey by the way I just wanna. let you know for the last like 13 years. of your career you've only lined up on. this side but tonight in this particular. situation you should just go over to the. other side and ruin that kid from the. East Hill of Pittsburgh's life. right over there but if an off balance. to the short side of the field like are. you looking at the shot right now young. looking man have you ever seen that line. up in a field goal formation to the to. the short side of the field and. unbalanced formation over there it's. just that's what gave it away.
no it was the defense look at where. Troy's line of Troy was normally always. on the left side over there he just. wrecked wait he's looking at the short. he's looking at the short side he's. looking at the short side unbalanced. eyes so only I'm seeing it now but Troy. saw it cuz the good man above had talked. you were good I okay you weren't special.
you're seeing that right now. yeah you're right now I can see it on. the field. no the only choice on it only turns on. that because the good man talked to him. was like listen to this he just finally. answered what happened he literally just. answered in the last couple days I don't. know what this kid's name is but he's on. the youtube and he got a chance. interviewing for head and shoulders and. this is this the whole interviewers this. for minutes and when he finally. addresses it for some ads right now oh. my god see those remind Ike welcome back.
pal we'll talk about you anyways Troy. ball them although address ruining my. life and Ikes gone good I can hear y'all. okay here we go. we've been doing all year long as we've. been doing there you know we need to. find a time to throw it into the foundry. and we had talked about this before they. didn't have the sports game. I'm on the sidelines we discussed I came.
in you know they're probably gonna make. this bill goal or extra point whatever. it was it's like let's just throw it in. right now. what do you know what do you know where. do you know right you know here's a know. Peter Parker aka baby-making he'll know.
see if y'all tell free mega secret just. make sure it might go wow oh my god. that was Troy Polamalu addressing the.
infamous fake for the first time ever. and he said that they lined up on the. field side every single time they wanted. to show a boundary block and he said. well since it's an easy field goal let's. just show this on film or whatever. that's what he literally just said and. it just so happens though I'm gonna run. it for a touchdown they said Peter. Parker his spider said I was too excited. coming on the field I don't need a Troy. okay now that I know that it was him and. Jesus all along I mean we're in a bad.
spot see that's that's that guilt that's. that's that gift man uh he differ many. special he's special as are you like. every time I get a chance to talk to you. I appreciate you I can't wait to have. you back Diggs has a question for you hi. do you remember when Osho had a. checklist of D B's in his locker and. yeah only D be a wooden cross off to. remember who that was yeah Lozano but my. career was real good yeah every time. every time we play like oh so really I.
started off also. Coach Cal went Dick LeBeau day that was. my first assignment Oh Cho like you got. him you got him I was like what yeah you. got. today Oh Jojo play back your football. NFL okay let me see what wound up. handling my business. it kind of just took off from there but. oh man. it used to be farm arrow trees the same. pepto-bismol to the facility about the.
I'm about to own you for the next game. do some crazy stuff but it was all funny. gameplay hey nobody really took it too. serious I cannot believe I didn't send. anything to the other punt returners. from other teams service facility yeah. also you should do some crazy send a lot. of stuff to the facility man and it was. all fun and games when you meet he was. confident and how he played from I was.
confident in how I played but it's just. dumb the memories I love it can't get. back when you play guys in that kind of. area you know P back man we played man. it was very super competitive super. competitive legit but it was it was a. lot of love Brotherhood and it was a lot. of we you know what I'm saying like it. really was a wee error what we don't. like as towards the end of my career now. I'm not saying the younger players were. bad people you know they just came from.
a different generation. I watched the locker room change like I. literally watched the locker rooms I was. very lucky to be a part of like the old. school back whenever we literally I. think we had three a days like my first. time my first year right yeah and then. that the end of it I literally got to. watch the generational change which. became the social media the branding the. whole thing changed it really it did it. did change team sports I think not just. football I think it's changed team. sports completely that that social media. is a game changer and it changed the.
dish generation of mindset it is it's. not really an i it's my brain yeah you. know what I'm saying is be more worried. about the brand and with what I'm what. I'm trying to get the young kids because. I coached my son team to understand is. the more we say me and a walk the more. we went everybody eats like I didn't. play 12 years because I caught. interceptions I played 12 years because. we only. the playoffs one year helped my 12 year. it's been to the Super Bowl you know.
three times in six years like so but it. was it was more of a wheat thing so. everybody got paid that's why I run to. hell the dirt the third receiver coming. up he went to the Washington Redskins it. got paid Chris Hope got paid but. everybody wanted a winner hey when you. win there's enough to go around so. everybody says and I think that'll. remain true forever. that's why Patrick mom's about to get. the cake and if that Prescott would have. got the Cowboys in the playoffs I don't. think we're having any conversation with. him ladies and gentlemen I enjoy every.
time we talk the electric 2-time Super. Bowl champ Mike Taylor I appreciate. o'problem see you man talk to you soon. all right yes sir. look around you okay it's a white he's. really good yeah great incredible I mean. we just talked about Ochocinco Troy. Polamalu then we get that led into a. head and shoulders add race. I'm Patrick mahomes dak Prescott I like. where his brain I like I like the way he. operates I like Ike Taylor a lot he's. the man that's Roy Polamalu thing that's. my first time listening to it by the way.
right there a lot of people sent me the. video I didn't want to I didn't want to. so we did alive they're hearing him say. that we had lined up for a field block. every single time yeah you did Oh cuz I. often wonder you know deep down a half a. question like was the film study wrong. like did we not watch every single clip. were we wrong I was like now we had to. admit something now. we worked it's just that Peter Parker. little Jesus guy talking to toy Polamalu.
made him one of the most instinctive. players to ever play the game and he. just so happened to get one of those. conversations with the Lord himself and. said let's ruin that kid's life over. there in front of his family and it's. also so so interesting that the teens. were countered watching tape on. themselves in like hey we need to lease. line up over there once I put it on tape. well that's that's that's a lot of NFL. right that's like you got you got to put. things in for people three weeks down. the road like you have to show things on. tape like you'll see a lot of people go.
into bunch sets and emotion out of it. it's just so on tape that they see that. much that they that you have to prepare. for it. we used to have a guy you have a field. side and then a boundary set boundary. side is normally the starters that are. still in because they're not going to. get blown up so normally the field side. is like the backup guys who can take big. shots because that's where the blocks. coming so then as soon as you show up a. boundary side block then it's like the. other teams in the next couple weeks are. like God we could potentially get our. good guys steamrolled here we gotta.

so there's this guy in Philadelphia that. I've been my headphones are lower than. yours just put it back on there's this. guy in Philadelphia that I've been. hearing about for years and we've been. telling you all about his diamonds if. you've ever been to Philadelphia seen on. the billboards you've heard on the radio. I hate Steven singer he's been making it.
too easy to buy gifts for over four. decades Valentine's Day is here you're. probably thinking I'll just get her. flowers again the flowers die and end up. in a trash can within a week give her a. gift that lasts as long as you love a. real 24 karat gold dipped Rose from. Steven singer Jewelers picture it a real. long Center is preserved and dipped in. 24 karat pure gold this real rose will. last forever and comes with a lifetime. guarantee ship for free in a beautiful. gift box with your own personalized. message of love these roses won't wilt. or die they don't even need water and. will remind her each and every day of. your love if this your first Steven. signature red rose is a classic the only.
59 bucks go online to I eat Steven. singing calm click on the roses and. become a hero this Valentine's Day. that's I hate Steven singer calm Steven. singer drillers one place one price. Steven with a be welcome back to the fat. magnet show Friday February 7th had a. little remix on the music had to. introduce Steven singer before we. introduced this next guy Super Bowl. champion Ohio State legend it says it on. his license plate the handsome the. famous the incomparable a J ha hey J.
yeah it is February 7th 2020 you're. joining us from a barn I would like to. know who's gonna win the Super Bowl next. year AJ please tell me who and why yep I. think the Chiefs are gonna win Pat you. know what I actually got my wife a gold. dipped rose from Stephen C still alive. still looks good looks just as good now. as it did a year ago it's a beautiful. gift it's a smart idea jewelry and.
flowers your it's a win-win yeah it was. it's a great gift you're right it still. looks now like it did a year ago and so. and she hasn't really taken it out of. the box yet but she she likes to take. that how many kids do you love for for. children it's that type of romance that. have gotten you to this incredible place. in your family life AJ everybody knows. you've made an absurd amount of cash. playing football. an absolutely obscene amount of money. playing football you have playing.
football you've made an obscene amount. of cash it's googler bull it's all. public knowledge we know that there's a. couple guys that are up for contracts. right now that are about to make. ridiculously more money than you. Patrick mahomes is gonna sign for 200. million dollars I think with this new. CBA do you think there's a chance that. the NFL gets a chance into like the big. money moves like MLB and the NBA and. stuff like that or would just be for. quarterbacks you think no I think it's. just gonna be for quarterbacks I mean. you'll see giant contracts for outside.
rushers maybe a lock down corner that's. young make it one of those crazy deals. but no I think it's these are gonna be. specifically for quarterbacks I mean. what other position are you gonna pay. 200 million dollars it helps everybody. obviously when the quarterback gets that. much if a punter you know what do you. think what's the highest-paid punter in. the league right now ah it's a great. question I have no idea probably like. four million bucks if I had to guess at. four million bucks a year pretty good. stuff I assume that's good living by the. way when I got freeze tag for 2.7. million dollars I couldn't sign it.
quicker I was like I'm gonna become a. millionaire when I sign this let's do it. have you ever got franchise tag did you. ever get franchise that with Green Bay I. never got franchise tag they didn't do. it a whole lot but I played Charles. Woodson I think he was franchised in. Oakland a couple years before he came to. Green Bay no Jewish peppers was. franchise before I don't think in Green. Bay though it's not a bad deal I. wouldn't be upset if I got franchise if. the NFL was to go to 17 games would your. would your body and brain been able to. handle it you're a guy who has zero. documented concussions here somehow that.
massive head of yours. was able to ram into other humans for. how many years reunion FL 11 11 years in. the NFL in a position of banging your. head into people zero documented. concussions which is good I'm very happy. for your jaw line and everything like. that but if the season was to go to 17. games do you think that would be quite a. problem no I don't think it would have. been a giant problem for me when I was. playing and I understand players not. wanting to do it because I just want to.
know how you're gonna get paid like you. got to get paid for an extra game so. much if I'm in the middle of a five-year. deal how you gonna give me this extra. money I don't get it you can't just. spread out mind. sixteen was one two seventeen so we're. just gonna spread it out my checks gonna. be a little smaller like how were they. gonna work that part out I think they. would have by the way I think you have. to add an extra by week in there too so. I think it's two more weeks and I think. they have to just I think they have to. just match your salary I think it just. has to be. I think everybody's payment goes up what. one seven two two seventeen or whatever.
it would be okay I mean sure if they. want to do it it sounds like it'll. probably get done they'll make the 17. games happen but I don't like having to. buy weeks like I didn't really love. having one by a week I like to just keep. it rolling I don't know why you need. that buy week really you did not like. the bye week I liked it when coach. McCarthy started to give us a great. schedule actually and if we won the week. before sometimes in the locker room on. Sunday say see you next week and it was. legit it's a huge buy week but if you're.
practicing until Wednesday or Thursday. even though you might not be banging to. much in practice it's not much of a buy. week you can maybe get out of town for a. few days but when you get the whole week. off that's that's really really nice and. I guess if you had that twice during. this season it would help but I just. feel like it's prolonging the season. well I think they would have to do that. strictly to make the players feel happy. about the health if the automatic. thought is that an extra buy week is. more healthy for the player and be. honest as somebody that went to a beach. immediately upon bye week starting.
except for that one time I stayed in. Indianapolis and I probably should have. left that week I should have left. Tuesday afternoon instead of the plan. Thursday I think that would have been. good no mug shot nor anything like that. but I always thought everybody loved to. buy with to hear you say that you. wouldn't want another buy week was very. it's very wild to me no I just didn't I. wouldn't need a second one the one by. week was enough for me and let's be. honest if you're truly hurt having five. or six days off is not going to get you. healthy if you're nursing something. along it'll help a little bit but I.
always felt like coming back from the. bye week it was that much harder to get. back into it and I was working out. during the bye week every day to doing. stuff but it's not like all of a sudden. we're here we go I'm refreshed I feel so. happy to be back like that's not how it. works I like staying in the rhythm I was. so over fresh fresh off a beach how's it. going how's the tan don't look at the. first six punts here they're going to be. let's get past it and keep it moving AJ. you're hosting this show all week next. week because I'm gonna be on a beach. somewhere what are you looking forward.
to what should the fans expect you to. talk about with some of the boys here. what will the a Jayhawk version of the. Pat Mac if your show look like next week. have you thought about it yeah well I've. already been been laying out Monday's. show and what we're gonna do probably. right off the top we're gonna have to. recap how you do in your XFL debut. Sunday night 5 p.m. yeah yeah smart. smart move yeah that's good so I'm sure. we will have some audio from that game. hopefully we can pull it up and the guys. will help me pull up some of your audio.
of you running down the sideline winded. trying to grab guys for interviews and I. just think the chaos of it all is gonna. be fun we'll start with that and then. there's always breaking news and. different things coming up so I'm. excited there's not a lot of breaking is. what we've been learning look at this. first league app of the season there's. not a lot to talk about we broke this. massive mo beam I'm excited for you and. I'm very thankful for you next week by. the way let me get that out of the way. so everybody it's documented on record. that I'm very thankful for what you're. doing this week the MLB we broke a bunch. of news about this big trade and then it.
all got it all went to hell in a. handbasket and then with there's the. rough deadline was given up by ESPN. that's all a lie. it just seems like right now you can. just talk about anything it's break we. broke the news that Jimmy ji was gonna. get traded back to the Patriots and then. it turns out that's a lie there's a lot. of this businesses just talking about. things that are never gonna happen I've. learned yeah I guess and yeah I guess. this is kind of a dead time isn't it I. mean obviously that's why you asked me. to host the show you're thinking all. right it's a time of year when nothing's. happening I don't want to be there in.
studio I need a break I've had a crazy. schedule hey AJ you mind coming over. here and doing this for free for a week. tell you what AJ you're an instinctive. player you know what I mean that was. your instincts led you definitely a. hundred percent accurate there we were. talking Ike Taylor about he said the. first day Troy Polamalu came into the. building they knew they're playing with. a Hall of Famer and he said the reason. why he was so instinctive is literally.
because he thought that he was so. religious Jesus was talking to him. because there were some things he would. do that made no sense not. the rest of the defense had any idea. what he was doing and then it would just. work out and he had no entire career of. doing that basically right who's. somebody who played alongside that you'd. like thought to yourself like this guy. plays football at a different level than. I could ever fathom charles woodson. hands down Chavez came from Oakland as a. free agent my rookie year so I got job. two better Charles had signed maybe a. month or two before the draft and. Charles came in year one.
he was really good a year too I believe. he was Defensive Player of the Year in. the league in this - dude there was a. couple years where Charles wasn't. practicing for a big chunk of the season. he had a bad turf toe I think and he. would just lay in the training table and. watch film of our upcoming opponent and. then all of a sudden come out and get. two picks and four PB use and three TFLs. in a game like he was just me that's. what he did and from when he got there. until the woman he left Green Bay and.
then he went back to Oakland and still. dominated there in this last couple. years so Charles was absolutely one of. those guys that's he lives and plays on. another planet from the rest of us it. makes no sense why does that happen you. think why are there because the NFL is. filled with great players obviously like. the point oh-o-oh 1% of the humans that. play football play in the NFL then. there's these people that are just on a. complete different stratosphere it. doesn't make any sense to me because. like for instance see a lot of humans. that are walking around on the streets. that are probably really good at. football right you got a lot of people.
that have great bodies are very fast. they're probably gonna football but in. between years they just couldn't figure. out how to play football then you got. these guys are making NFL and then. there's just these humans that are just. at this whole nother speed if none of it. makes sense to me I don't get it. yes some guys are obviously blessed with. the physical genetics to do things that. others aren't but then when you couple. that like you talked about like Troy. Charles all these guys they're born with. their genetic freaks to begin with him. and they may not look like it but how.
they can move how agile they are. whatever either can stop and Starks. crazy but then you couple that with. everything else their work ethic their. their instincts I think football. instincts when you're talking about Troy. and Charles those guys are off the. charts like we always talked about. Charles ball skills I won the Heisman. Trophy is the defensive player because. he returned punts and played a little. bit of receiver so he use a special. I that you don't see come around very. often I think that's why he's gonna be a. first-ballot hall-of-famer who's. somebody that you think plays like that. in the lead right now.
like a lot of people think tire and. Matthew a lot of people are saying tire. and Matthew is a guy who has incredible. instincts he even put out a tweet a. couple weeks ago about how the Patriots. ran a play against them earlier in the. year and he locked it in he was I called. that play we're gonna see that again lo. and behold I think the Titans ran. against him for like a two-yard loss he. like blew up the thing it was like those. types of things I think the the great. players do it's like not only just the. instincts in the preparation and the. athleticism it's also like willing to. outwork people in the film room that I. don't think gets talked about enough. yeah it's no secret why guys are that.
good and I love tired Matthew what's. awesome about him is his story I got a. lot of people that watch him now. probably don't know about the the. craziness that happened in his life. going from LSU and was the end out of. jail or something I don't even remember. exactly what happened to him was it like. what was it what were his issues because. now I'll just mute dude I they act like. he was the the catalyst for that whole. team because of his leadership like the. energy he brought and kind of the. culture they create that's a big reason. why the defense was much better the.
second half of the season well I think. by the way he would I don't know if he. did when the Heisman Rafi he's a. finalist he should have won not he was. the best player on the field every time. he was only using college just like. Charles Woodson a great elite special. defensive player can change games even. in this world of offensive football in. elite defensive player can absolutely. change the game and could be an absolute. terror but what add to his story a lot. of people probably don't even remember. that he played for the Texans last year. for one year. like the Texans had him for one year and. just let him go and then he goes the. Chiefs in one super well that's general.
manager Bill O'Brien and repeal O'Brien. not just a head coach he's also general. manager Bill O'Brien if you were would. you ever get into coaching ever in your. entire life. now I'm not very good at it I think I've. told you that why I don't like telling. people what to do and I just don't I. don't know something about it the little. bit I have coach that kids camps and my. little kids teams I've been the. assistant on coach pitch baseball last. year and I just stood at first base as. the first base coach and just gave the.
kids high-fives they ran past. I say you just don't care enough it. sounds yeah I mean I just want to I. don't know I don't know what it is maybe. I don't have the patience to sit there. and walk through things with with kids. or with people but I don't know. and also the lifestyle I just can't that. can't I have no desire for that to be my. lifestyle build a house in Ohio I don't. plan on moving around I don't plan on. being at the office for 20 hours a day I. just don't think I would handle that.
very well who's a coach I don't wanna. say your best coach because each coach. is different but who's a coach that you. remember being like oh I like the way. this guy does what he's doing right now. like yeah I like the way he coaches what. we got going on there's a lot of him I'd. say there's a guy named Aaron Perry a. great Steeler played in the Steelers. secondary for a while he was in Green. Bay for a long time with me I really. understood him like I would go to him. about with questions when I had. questions about the scheme or what. things what teams are trying to do to. attack us and then another guy have you.
heard of Kevin Green under Kevin Green. oh it's a long another serie great Hall. of Famer I sent him a knife as a gift. for a haul through the hall when he went. to the Hall of Fame with two cobras on. it because he would talk about Cobra. striking his guys outside rushes you got. it it all starts with the bulrush and. he'd say you got a Cobra strike him and. then you can work your moves from there. and Kevin green is an absolute character. like the dude was wrestling at WCW when. he was still playing in the NFL he would. go through pay-per-views because he said. you'd get paid so well and he loved to. do it he's the best I absolutely I mean.
Kevin Green could probably still play in. the XFL if he wanted to from the way it. looks we got to get to a break we'll get. back on the other side with more a. Jayhawk Diggs has a question. he's been yearning to ask you for like a. year I'm excited to hear that. AJ's hosting the show all next week he's. obviously very well prepared for that oh. this is Friday February 7th we'll get a. phone call too if you have a question. for a Jayhawk the lines are filled but. if you're on the line right now think of. a question for a Jayhawk let's put his. feet to the damn fire this is the Pat.

welcome back to the pen Magnum show. Friday February 7 forever known as the. day that I learned why Hoyt Polamalu. ruined my life joining us now is an. absolute legend a Jayhawk all right good. to be here Pat thanks for the. reintroduction there was a lot less cuz. I just watched the video back of Troy. Polamalu can we what was the kid's name. that he interviewed with we should give. that kid credit he's on YouTube. he got an interview with Troy Polamalu. asked him why he decided to ruin my life. and Troy gave answers my first time.
learning of why he chose to do that in. our bTW it's a whole new day our BT. shouted our BT on YouTube but yeah. welcome back it's great to have you man. I had to watch it back Diggs has a big. question for you well you're gonna say. something what do they say yeah well no. I'm just curious why did you guys not. have a check out of that fake because it. was a hundred percent Raj it was 100. percent not obviously not well it. obviously wasn't because Troy Polamalu. we just found out from a teammate of his. literally got whisperings from the Jesus. Christ and told him whenever plays were.
coming that's the only reason why it. didn't work in Troy Polamalu just. admitted to our guy our BT on YouTube. that day all year they had a field rush. field Rushfield rush and he said ah this. feels like the right time to put in a. boundary rush just for film and it just. so happened to be the time that I was. going to score a touchdown and the more. and more that comes out about Troy there. was no chance I was ever gonna score the. guy knew was happening as I was jogging. on the damn field. so did your special teams coach just. have that much faith in your athleticism. that no matter what look they lined up.
in you were gonna score it was a hundred. percent er AJ they they had a field rush. they didn't have enough men to the field. sir I get it I get what you're saying. Pat but it obviously is not a hundred. percent er you didn't score well because. I made a special quarterback audible and. checked out of it to the kick I still. think I could have ran over another. player around another player if Troy. Polamalu gets his hands on me he picks. me up and carries me to the other end. zone as a touchdown for himself I.
understand it because I'm not gonna. fumble the rock I'll hold on dude he'll. carry me God but I chose to check out of. it for the good of the team good for. finitary but on film they didn't have. enough humans over there we had them. outnumbered. it was a walk in touchdown for the. holder if we're inside the six yard line. there was no. to be made I was supposed to catch the. snap stand up and walk into the enzone. there was nothing to be said about Troy. Polamalu coming over to that side and. ruin my life which now I learned just. strictly he was doing it just for film. to ruin other people's lives and he was.
doing it just because he had a little. Peter Parker spidey sense inside and. that's just unfair that that human got. to play on the same field as me I should. have been playing against people that. didn't have Jesus talking to them and. didn't have Peter Parker playing I would. like to potentially petition the NFL. that if any players are getting Jesus. Christ speaking to him directly they are. not allowed in the NFL that should be a. PE D suspension if you have the Jesus. talking to you in your ear telling you. what you do. yeah has it made you rethink your faith. are you gonna dive deeper into your.
faith now because of that play I'm too. far gone I'm too far gone sorry. digs has been wanting to ask you this. question for a long time long long long. time I'm excited to hear what it is he. wouldn't tell us that he actually said. to us if a Jayhawks ever on the show. again. I have a question for him that I need to. know about digs go ahead please AJ. that's probably three four years been. thinking about this question half since. you were first on if you and Pat were. ever to do like a live show together.
like a live radio show every day and you. had to pick a quarterback a retired. quarterback to host the show with you. guys. with like really good hair it has a. that's one of those shows on e reality. reality show who do you think you would. pick as that quarterback to be your live. co-host Joe yeah good question so are. you the right answer here to say Jay. Cutler oh do you think Jay would be up.
for it I mean I that'd be fun but I. don't know if Jay has any desire to do. that by the way Jay Cutler did like six. commentated six NFL games and they. became the quarterback of the Dolphins. right and then he like disappeared. became a reality TV superstar took over. the world he just automatically jumped. me in the ESPN NFL commentators but if. you've seen it yeah all of the. Internet's like Jay Cutler is back in. the NFL commentary conversation with the. es. and potentially CBS and Fox I don't.
think that's fair oh is that right. well I by the way if I was hiring I'd. pick Jay Keller I pick Jay Cutler. immediately who is somebody as a. quarterback that you would like to host. a show with oh man there's a bunch of. them do you think Baker would be fun are. you talking about current or retired uh. current what deal Karen will just do. quarterbacks in general don't matter I. think Baker would be fun he seems like a. fun dude. other than that yeah I mean Aaron of. course Rodgers would be great I know. he's your best friend so it'd be tough. to pry them away from you or maybe we.
could all do it together hmm. but yeah that'd be fun there's a million. of them quarterbacks are a different. breed man they're all just especially to. get to that level to play quarterback in. the NFL you there's something different. about you like type-a driven like. detail-oriented they're just they think. a lot differently than other football. players that play different positions I. feel like and they're nerds normally. normally gotta have like a little bit of. a nerd in you because you got to be. super diligent you have to have a great. memory you have to have an ability to do. things I think you have to have that. super like savant style brain to be a.
quarterback and that's a real thing yeah. you kinda have to be a fixer like say. you're in high school and there's some. party getting busted and you're running. backs gonna get arrested by the cops for. underage drinking like you count on your. starting quarterback to show up and to. slide them out the back door. I agree don't lose your shoes though. while you're hopping out the window cuz. they will track down your shoes the. shoeless man yeah friend of ours hopped. out of a window whenever a party got. busted by police and he both of his. shoes fell off at the window and in the.
police report they said still seeking. man who owns the New Balances hey that. was bad new bounces had a little bit of. a run oh yeah the story college for sure. New Balance is big in baseball they're. baseball players where new bounce cleats. also cheating massive big part of. baseball these days is cheating ones. like are you mad are you mad about that. about the Astros banging on the trash. can this is the only time I know about. baseball is whenever they're an engulfed.
in a massive scandal right like baseball. gets really good like for instance I. probably watched the Red Sox and the. Astros during those runs because they. were hitting the ball better than any. humans had ever hit I'd probably watch. the baseball's like oh this is fun look. at six. happening I like success look at this is. good and then it turns out no they're. just cheating and then back in the day. when Barry Bonds went from a size four. hat to a size 14 hat and he was hitting. them out of the bar I loved watch I'm. like oh this is fun they're succeeding. and then all of a sudden up they're. cheating the government gets involved. they spend like a hundred forty five. million dollars investigating mark. mcgwire lies to them if this I picture.
baseball if quarterbacks who were. completing 35% of their passes made the. Hall of Fame football wouldn't be as fun. to watch that's what baseball is. baseball was made just to pass the time. like how can we make this be as long. just like soccer just like soccer back. in the day not a lot of success 90. minutes long we don't want to go home. and talk to the wife let's just make a. game that's very boring and miserable we. can drink while watching and last. forever in America was like what do the. same damn thing we'll just do this one. with this little tiny back this little. tiny ball and everybody will suck at it.
but we'll have a good time for seven. hours great idea you mention Aaron. Rodgers I didn't guys ever talk about me. or what do you talk about whenever you. talk about Aaron Rodgers yeah we usually. do talk about you know he came on your. show during the season right yeah he was. promoting I know he's promoting. something that's for sure yeah State. Farm I believe he would be a wildfire. yeah for Butte and for a California. wildfire you like you changing the world. good guy that's our friend there we go I. got a buddy in Australia that's an. incentive me pictures of his property.
they've been fighting I don't know a. couple weeks ago fighting fires to try. to keep all of his animals alive and. stuff it's pretty crazy there two. figures you what you might want to send. some money there way to come on you make. more money now than you ever did plane. before you make more in in one year. doing this than you did in your whole. NFL career let's feel good Friday AJ. we're not talking about that we will. take care of Australia teas in peace. Australia will send some money to go. fund me over there we already have I. believes you know Cubans eke got into.
the game there oh yeah. Aaron Rodgers just hit a ball like I. think four feet yesterday in the 18c. pro-am out there yeah why are you. playing in that was it lighted really. yeah real I'm surprised you're not. playing it that's kind of your thing. like rubbing elbows with all the. big-time celebrities I'm a Jayhawk how's. it going spear a fan that's what you do. I feel like I've put my feelers out. there to try to see what it takes to get. into that tournament and I've heard. nothing back. every neither van I didn't put on any. feelers though I just know that I. wouldn't get invited I'm surprised they. don't let you out there though your. superstar.
maybe I should maybe I should really. actually attempt to play in it for those. guys. you get coupled with a tour pro and. everything and they go off handicaps. like I don't play enough golf to have it. with jibt handicap so I don't know if I. could get in I mean either Aaron Rodgers. gonna play another five years so many. years Aaron Rodgers gonna play for you. think and your conversation that you had. with him he made a lot of comments this. year that was like hey we all understand. where I'm at I can see hole 18 we got to. make a good run here that's scared to. death some people agree with backers but. we still got a few years of watching the. greatness that his Aaron Rodgers right. yeah he just turned 36 what he's not.
slowing down anytime soon yeah I think. easily he can play five more years why. would I think it it's not going it's not. like a crazy hot take to say he can play. more than five years. Odell Beckham jr. done with Green Bay. Packers this offseason that'd be sweet. wouldn't that be good put him in the. floor system prepare him up Davante. Adams on the other side those guys will. dominate get rid of Jimmy Graham does. the guy want some lanes he doesn't want. to catch balls and then you got owed BJ. you've got two Vontae you've got Aaron.
Jones you got Aaron Rodgers you got an. offensive line that seemed to be do good. this year just can they stop the run can. they stop the run that's gonna be the. question not against the 49ers the catch. 186 yards before contact ooh that's not. good is it maybe you come out a retire. maybe you go play for the green might. need a middle linebacker yeah I don't. think they want me out there hobbling. along but yeah I'll be alright. I'll just stay working out in my. basement the mornings and and hosting. Pat show for him when he decides to go. to Bali and stay in one of those huts on.
the water. next week guest friend of the show a. Jayhawk thank you brother what a guy. I can't wait to listen to the show so. I'm out in Hawaii oh that's gonna be. nice all right it's a real shame that. I'm getting away from everybody for a. week or so what's your wake up that. early no I'll watch it later I'll watch. it later on the YouTube. I'll watch your playback can't wait to. see what you guys do very thankful for. everybody they spent a hell of a run. this fall I'm gonna go sleep for a. little bit but before I do that I'll be. in Dallas for XFL on Sunday this spring.
