dominates the topic of conversation in. this particular show on a regular basis. but today more so than any in about 15. minutes or so we'll be joined by Aaron. Rodgers Aaron Rogers is obviously the. four-time NFL's MVP the former Super. Bowl champion the current quarterback. for the New York Jets who just so happen. to have fired their coach yesterday at. 10:08 a.m. via an Adam schfer tweet is. how we found out Salah learned of his. fate via Woody Johnson conversation if. you read the te Le that have been.

brewing on the internet since this tweet. was put out there's been so many. different dynamics that have been. reported by multiple people who have. Source inside the building and around. the building Robert Salah allegedly. going on vacation now will not be back. coaching in the 2024 season even though. everybody seemingly wants him to be the. ners defensive coordinator and I think. Colts fans want him to be the Colts. defensive coordinator and I don't know. if that's going to take place at all but. I do know he's going to have a job back. in the NFL whenever he wants it and. that's because Robert solah whenever he. got hired as the coach for the New York.

Jets was a guy everybody was in love. with he had energy he he had it all. we're flexing we're going crazy we're. celebrating with the boys we're chest. bumping we're doing it all then we. become the head coach of the New York. Jets and we lost it seemingly lost his. happiness lost his Joy then he has Aon. Rogers come over to be his quarterback. it lasts four plays and here where they. are five weeks into the season after. losing in London sitting at two and. three with a lot of season left and he. gets fired out of nowhere on a Tuesday. morning since the firing obvious viously. there's been a lot of different reports.

like allegedly Robert Salo was going to. fire Nathaniel Hackett as the offensive. coordinator and then a lot of people on. the internet immediately started saying. well as soon as Aaron heard about that. he called Woody Johnson and said hackets. fired I don't think so I think you fire. Bob Salah instead everybody has run with. that theory everybody has run with that. narrative everybody has cided that that. is how things go I'm excited to see what. is said about 13 minutes from the man.

that everybody on the internet not. everybody a majority of people on the. internet assume was the one that did the. firing after 5 weeks of football a guy. that's been in the NFL for like 20 years. has had three head coaches okay that's. it three three head coaches wow didn't. know that if you read the internet. yesterday obviously he gu a Coach K. three head coaches 20 years throughout. this entire thing when has it ever. worked for any team to go win a Super. Bowl which is obviously what Aaron. Rogers is in this thing to continue to. do with the New York Jets when has it.

ever worked when you fire a coach five. weeks I don't I don't know it doesn't. make sense uh that Aaron would want to. fire the head coach at this standpoint. with the history of football what. they're trying to do and what does it do. good for the team in the coming weeks or. for the rest of the season I'll be. excited to hear what Aaron has to say. though yeah everybody's had their chance. to have their theories and their. thoughts he'll tell us in about 12 13. minutes I assume coach Salah will get. his side out eventually I assume there's. another side that's going to come out. from it maybe the Jets this is a massive. happening around Sports media hopefully.

we learn a little bit more today Adam. schfer will join us afterwards I'll be. excited to hear what Adam shefer knows. maybe from a different side different. standpoint maybe the history of things. and how it's got to this point yesterday. did this come out of nowhere or was this. potentially building up into a moment. where they lose in England where Woody. Johnson the owner former ambassador of. United Kingdom has his Lads with him. over there wait you see my team come. over here we've done business we've done. this and then they lose and then he's. flying back was that the cherry on top.

was there other reasons inside of it I'm. excited to hear what sher's opinions on. it and then we'll have JJ Watt join us. and JJ is going to be an electrified. conversation about this and everything. else happening around the NFL obviously. the NHL dropped Puck last night huge. celebration in Utah to cap off a three-. Game launch into a fantastic NHL season. you can already sense the buzz around. the NHL is very real last night that was. certainly the case you got baseball. happening still the NBA's taking place. sham shirana makes his debut as the. senior NBA Insider for ESPN tomorrow on.

basically every single Studio show it is. a wonderful time to be alive we can't. thank you enough for allowing us to do. this for a living that's nine-year NFL. vet Darius J Butler one half of the. hammer Cowboys AP ton is here then the. toxic table is here sitting in for Tai. Schmid is 12year NFL vet Jackie Moon of. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers player coach. Super Bowl champ AQ Shipley and Boston. Connor Conor obviously the AFC East has. uh been dominating the conversation in. the news Cy Co oh yeah you mind me.

dolphins Tu when he comes back if he. wants to play football obviously. everybody everybody disagrees. potentially with what Tu wants to do. that has a microphone in front of their. face he should never play football again. but maybe he wants to play football. again true oh we will find out if that's. the case that's convo and you know uh. Buffalo Bills what's going on good Lord. Josh all was definitely can cuss no. doubt about definitely can cuss he goes. back in there he plays football bad are. the Buffalo Bills done they haven't. really beat any good teams oh my God are. the Buffalo what are the Buffalo Bills. is that window still open conversation. that's happening New York Jets say fired.

their head coach whoa fired fired their. head coach five games trying to win a. Super Bowl that's the entire head coach. gone see you later and then in the New. England Patriots organization it is the. dawning of a new day MH Drake Bay. officially named starter Connor hell. yeah congratulations pal I know you're. jacked up about it yeah very pumped up I. know Monday I said look this season's. over looking forward to the draft and lo. and behold that was not true that was an. overreaction we are not looking forward. to the draft the season starts on Sunday. day against the Texans this is.

incredible news uh this will be the. first time the Patriots are going backto. back weeks with the same starting 50. line yeah that's how bad it's been up. front but they didn't play terribly I I. know AQ also kind of echoed those. sentiments there were a few spots on the. offensive line that are questionable. missing you know starting center for the. last 10 years Super Bowl champion David. Andrews is going to be huge that really. stinks but Drake May going in I couldn't. be more pumped I I don't have high high. expectations in in this game.

expectations overall Hall of Famer MVP. Super Bowls all those things very much. on the table but just looking for Sunday. look I need like a a 10 yard run for a. first down okay need need one of those. him high stepping maybe a little bit. show him that speed that he has that he. showed in preseason I need like a third. and 10 Dart across the middle maybe even. a sideline Dart for a first down to pop. Douglas or Kendrick Bourne that would be. fantastic to see and then of course I. need an On The Run 60 to 70 yard bomb I.

don't care if it gets caught I don't. give a [ __ ] this is all happen against. the Texans I I I just need one of each. of these individual plays now I I don't. know this one four quarters one game. overtime if needed Bingo may maybe. overtime now I I expect us to be up 10. 15 points in the fourth quarter but but. again just throughout the game that's. all we're really looking for uh coach. Mayo talked about it kind of earlier. today at a press conference and he said. like hey this is my decision he actually. got a followup there. like you say this is just your decision.

did you talk to any of the offensive. coaches like hey are we sure this guy's. good to go he said he talked to Alex Vel. the offensive coordinator he actually. mentioned how at the end of preseason. you know when the conversation was so. loud how are you going to wheel out. jacobe brasset when Drake may clearly. won the job here anybody watching the. games could tell Drake May was better. and he said like hey that progression. has continued like he has continued to. get better someone also asked did the. plan that we've been referencing here. with Drake Made did this get expedited. they they they push this up because of.

the play and because they one for he. said no so it does seem as though the. plan is still on everything that they. were talking about doing when we get. back toback weeks to the same offensive. line B we'll put Drake in we're going to. throw him out there what if coach Mayo. did say that I'm not putting him out. there until we at least have two weeks. of continuity can we that would be an. interesting conversation behind the. scenes now you're saying the expectation. is or all you want from him is just we. need five highlights against this. Houston Texans uh defense rookie. quarterback seemingly debut and uh we.

saw this graphic uh on the Internet it's. um might take a little bit might take a. couple weeks to kind of learn it now. Jaden Daniels different story obviously. he came out of the gate playing. fantastic football but it seems like. these rookie quarterbacks that were. drafted High all of a sudden maybe. starting to find their way is it more. the team is it more the player what are. your thoughts on that uh some of it is. is definitely bad opponents but some of. it is definitely building that. continuity with the play callers um with. the players around him I know Caleb. Williams situ ation Swift in that in.

that run game has gotten going a little. bit more he's been a weapon out of the. back fields a receiver as well and we're. seeing Caleb make those plays that we. expected him to make on this level the. things that he was doing at USC breaking. the pocket making big time throws they. won a couple games Jon Daniels we know. how unbelievable he's been pretty much. from the start he should be right the. top of the MVP conversation his. offensive line his Run game is also. helping him and also his weapons on the. outside B Knicks offensively still not. looking great but he's taking care of. the football and on the other side of. the football defense is flying around.

one of the best defenses in the league. right now so he's doing his job I think. they will continue to get better as well. with Shawn pton and then we have Drake. may you know he's coming in and we can. expect him I expect him at least to to. struggle early you know kind of get his. footing figure things out not a great. offensive line we saw jacobe brette. running for his life hopefully the. weapons get going young weapons out. there poke Javon Baker once he gets in. there doing some pop Douglas so there. are potential weapons and Drake May is. dynamic coming into the draft he was. probably the biggest I say wild card cuz.

he had when did you say Drake May should. get drafted uh one overall but that was. very you know I I get caught in the. moment he also said the Browns were. going to win the Super Bowl I didn't say. I was leaning I said Jerry Judy moved. the needle for me but you know off. season takes that's not that's not right. right draft takes though we haven't seen. him play I hey I still love I'm still. very very high on on Drake may he has. all the intangibles if you're building a. quarterback you know on Madden he's kind. of like that Justin Herbert Mo he he's. big has a strong arm athletic so that's.

the thing with all these quarterbacks. you know B Knicks Jaden Daniels Caleb. Williams they all have athleticism so if. things break down they can break a. pocket make a play with their legs or. their arms so I definitely have high. expectations for Drake may I feel like. jacobe you know deal with he could do. what was given to him and the reason you. draft the guy number three overall is. kind of to bring everybody up so. hopefully we get that from Drake may may. not start week one but maybe week four. to six we'll see PARTA of that growth in. him in this offense that's what I'm. saying with the stat that we showed. there I I think you Drake May might it.

might take a few weeks here you know it. might take the rest of the season who. knows you know because the conversation. about Drake May was he needs to sit out. a year he needs to learn how to play. football he needs to get his. fundamentals better he needs to get his. feet set he needs to get his eyes right. too often he was the most athletic. person on the field and he was just. doing his thing in North Carolina that's. what people said not us I'm just telling. you that is what people said at North. Carolina he led North Carolina in. rushing and passing one season I mean. you're talking freak Show athlete comes. from a family of freak athletes for sure. we are worried. yeah very much so we are a little bit.

worried with Drake Drake's big first. start here for the New England Patriots. will his uncle make it to kickoff oh boy. he's he's maybe I I don't we don't know. much about him I've only seen him in a. Lobby of a hotel uh before the draft uh. debut saw him on a golf course for an. entire day guy has a good time he's. going to win the tailgate May family is. going to win the tailgate it's going to. come from said Uncle does he make it to. kickoff and if he does how pumped is. that family for their boy I mean that's. that's a tight family I'm very pumped.

for all of them and uh I'm excited for. Patriots fans to have a little bit of. Hope yeah absolutely that that's what's. so exciting now is cu you know it really. was Doom and Gloom on Monday I was not. done with the season but basically done. and now it's a whole new whole new era. beginning on Sunday hey C what do you. think is the hardest thing for those. rookie quarterbacks why do you think. weeks one and two they're in a bad spot. just because the speed everything what. do you think no there's so much more on. their plate from protections from the. week from the process from the game plan. from everything and that's why I wish he.

would have had David Andrews right like. David Andrews their longtime great. Center goes out last week Nick lever. moves in Nick's AET Nick was down in. Tampa Bay my last year playing so he's. been in the league a little bit learned. got to see Tom Brady a little bit so now. all of that is going to be on him you. would think right like you don't you. want to take a little bit off of a. rookie quarterback from a protection. standpoint from flipping the protection. from fixing protections from all that. stuff and just kind of let him play ball. when you have David Andrews you can do. that yeah David Andrews obviously around. long time uh bum we're not going to see. him very excited for Drake May and I.

think coach Mayo probably is excited. what the future is going to look like. over there as well future down in the. Saints is obviously something Derek Carr. has been ruled out basically uh with an. oblique injury uh and they're saying. Spencer Rattler is probably going to be. the starter down there Spencer Rattler. is a guy whose College story is Infamous. you know and uh he became a great leader. I think down in South Carolina great. player down in South Carolina he gets an. opportunity now with this New Orleans. Saints te to do their thing he was he he.

wasn't the quarterback that came in at. the end of the game no that was ha no I. would say ha hey Hanner can spin it now. when I saw Rattler's name on the graphic. I'm like okay I like Spencer Rattler. this is his moment Spencer rattet. Spencer Rattler has been through a lot. of moments he'll be able to handle this. excited to see how the rookie does or. whatever. ha hang he put that in the bucket to ol. did you the olve won obviously Dart. we're talking s run submarine mhm Kamar. just right behind you know if that goes.

right in front of him we go oh [ __ ] you. know we really go crazy but just the The. Moxy to be like you know what [ __ ] yeah. I'm doing this thing side had that sweet. head shot too and modeling he was doing. I thought that guy was that was him yeah. yeah he had a different number he was I. thought he was 14 so he must to switch. his okay wow yeah those worth something. get in second I what's going on d That's. front man personality trait that guy.

that guy ready to be franchised uh Blake. rupy having a a great year down there. for the New Orleans Saints happy to see. that team seems to be together Derek. Carr gonna be out that's no fun Derek. Carr do enjoy it hopefully he gets back. healthy joining us now ladies and. gentlemen is the all-time leading. tackler for the Green Bay Packers. college football national champion Super. Bowl champion Rider Cup winner AJ. Hawk AJ as we await the conversation. with Aaron Rogers about uh him. firing his head coach uh once again very.

serious situation okay family got fired. they got they're going to have to move a. lot of kids I get it's part of the gig. definitely sucks anytime you're firing. somebody it's massive move but just the. automatic response of people on the. internet not all people but all going. this is Aaron doing it is wild so that's. why I'm excited for Aaron to come on. here and chitchat and be like you know. maybe he does say yeah I thought the. time was now to fire the head coach. maybe he maybe maybe that is think. you think that's what he's goingon to do.

think he's come on here and say oh it's. about time I walked into you know. Woody's office and said hey get this. dude out of here you think that's what's. happening well that's what I'm saying. like logistically how's it all go you. know like so they I I believe what. Warren sharp put out there and Warren. sharp does a lot of football coverage. NFL coverage a lot of people follow him. he has a massive platform he doesn't. have a book about football a lot of. people think he acts like he created. football but he is a great addition to. football I think personally he puts out. a lot of [ __ ] we appreciate him but he. put out a tweet that was basically like. it's evident with what's happening and. what we're hearing that Aaron called on.

the on the phone to Woody a red phone or. something like that to Woody Johnson and. said you got to fire this guy cuz he's. going to fire hacking it's like Warren I. know you know a lot about football but. like that would be a wild in an NFL. building move to H like and then what's. the Ripple effects after that because. coach Salah hired all those coaches yeah. so you know and all those player like I. don't that' be a wild thing to happen in. reality but I guess in movies and in. theory on the internet could be a good. idea so that's why I'm so thankful that. he's coming on because that narrative.

got real loud real quick AJ wow I mean. so he I didn't know Warr I see most all. of what Warren puts out I didn't know. he's actually was he saying he has. sources in that or is that just kind of. his opinion what you think he said it's. it's becoming more and more evident with. the more information that we're learning. that this is what went down and it's. like that's a pretty big statement just. to to say with how big of his platform. is too you know we get caught up in that. [ __ ] listen we say dumb things we got a. big platform feel terrible about it. would' like to get better going forward. with that being said just assuming and. then just I don't want to say uh Fanning.

a flame that is currently happening with. opposition being like this is definitely. what is like let's not forget he created. The Hip drop tle hip drop tackle he also. um made the game better by the way I I. would like to say I do follow along. Michael Parson's first game he said he. was going to be terrible because he was. lost in the sauce even though he came up. read the Run flipped his hips got okay. all right so tone is not the biggest fan. but I I will say I am uh speaking of. being a fan of I am a fan of people that. are great at their profession because it. means that a lot of work has gone into. it a lot of passion a lot of dedication.

and uh we are so incredibly lucky that. once a week for the last five seasons we. had a chance to chat with this man. joining us now quarterback for the New. York Jets four-time NFL MVP Super Bowl. champion Aaron. [Music]. Rogers how are you man good afternoon. boys I'm very thankful that you wore the. wired headphones uh for this particular. conversation so there's no chance of. breaking the Bluetooth connection I see. wear them into every single stadium that.

you walk into your old school still are. I appreciate that you got to protect the. brain oh see I didn't even think about. that because the radi electromagnetic. they're all just going in there all. right anyways let's not talk about the. wired headphones even though those are. artifacts at this standpoint of life. let's talk about the massive news are. they really I feel like they're coming. back I see like three or four guys in. the squad that got them so there's a. small really tight-nit group on the team. that has them you're an influencer bro. it seems like smart guy yeah everybody's. worried about the brain it's a good idea.

putting the guardian cap on go back to. the wired headphones let's make sure. we're keeping this brain as safe as. possible uh okay here we go this is a. big deal Aaron I just kind of laid it. all out the narrative that has been. built quickly and I think this is what. happens with your life for everything. you do there is a narrative that is. built and then you either decided for a. long time to kill them with indifference. and not answer a narrative or whenever. you came on our program and started. doing as such and started opening up. more to everybody it was like you. started like kind of nipping things in.

the bud that have been growing for a. long time right now the narrative that's. growing around you is that you got coach. Salah fired because you hate coach Salah. you didn't give him a hug okay you went. to Egypt and you hate the guy now I. would love to offer you the floor to. kind of explain how yesterday went down. your thoughts on it all and how you. think we got to this point that we're at. with the New York Jets organization in. 2024 yeah I mean yesterday was uh a day. that reminds you of the simple fact that.

all of us whove played know all too well. and that's that it's a tough business. it's a beautiful profession it's. incredible it's done so much for our. lives but it's also uh a really tough. business um I love coach Salah uh we. have a a very solid relationship we have. since uh you know I met him in. 2021 uh and had a nice conversation when. they came and and visited us for uh. joint practice is uh he was a big reason.

why I came to the Jets you know I felt. like the team you know was a solid team. uh had a relationship with Coach Hackett. obviously and I really liked coach Salah. everything that Matt laflor said about. him the few interactions I've had the. times that we went against him um I just. had a lot of respect for him and so uh. you know was just a reminder yesterday. how tough the business is I think what. what people uh can forget in this is not. only is is Robert a fantastic human.

being and a damn good football coach. he's also a family man he's got seven. kids he's got an incredible wife and uh. the business of football can be hard not. just on those of us who are playing and. coaching uh and doing Personnel things. uh and ownership obviously but it's. tough on the families and uh I've got to. know Robert's family uh over the last. couple years and especially one of his. kids Adam Adam's my little throwing. buddy from training camp uh love Adam.

he's an incredible incredible kid and. you know so I'm I'm thinking there's. obviously a lot of emotions uh but you. think about the the family and the kids. as much as you know uh the people you. love your own family who is the coaching. staff and the players and what uh what. they're all going through so you know. anybody who's kind of championing this. decision I would just uh appeal to the. humanity of the situation and and and. remind you there's other people involved.

and Adam has to go to school today you. know possibly or this week and uh. hopefully there's no you know uh kids. with poor parents who are making. schneide side comments to him um it's. just a reminder there's a lot of there's. a lot of things involved in this as far. as any of the ridiculous allegations out. there I'm not going to spend more than. uh one sentence uh in response to it and. that is that I I resent any of those.

accusations because they're patently. false and and uh it's interesting the. amount of power that people think that I. have. um uh which I don't but um I love Robert. and uh it was um you know one of those. days yesterday so yesterday OB thank you. for saying all that and uh obviously. they'll take something you said there. and chop it up and then say oh yeah you. know to kind of that's the world we're. in journalistic standards I don't yeah I. don't care respect um yesterday there.

was a lot of things that came out little. tidbits from insiders uh one of them was. that you know uh coach solah was. blindsided by it and everybody in the. building was is that an accurate. depiction of how it all went down. because then there was a report that you. talked to the owner on Monday you see so. you talk to the owner on Monday then you. know firing happens on Tuesday and. everybody that's why they started. linking those things how many of the. reports have you heard about. and yesterday was everybody in the.

building blindsided by this decision. week five firing a head coach is a wild. decision I think everybody but has. everybody feel that way in the. building yeah I did talk to Woody Woody. called me on Monday night we had a short. conversation uh I appreciated the call. it was a genuine uh call and he just. asked me how I was doing um you know. obviously I got rolled up on in the game. and uh you know my my ankle got pretty. banged up um so he just called and was. asking how I was doing and um you know.

we talked about the game and and how you. disappointed I was in my performance and. that I'm going to play better and we're. going to get this thing turned around. and then we hung up um to that point you. know Woody has no obligation to let me. know of what his plans are whether or. not he knew what he was doing in that. moment is. inconsequential um I just appreciated. the call that he was checking on me it. was just like a a friend call like he. would do hey man I saw that hit in the. game you you doing okay and and we had a.

nice short five-minute conversation and. then that was that okay so everybody. blindsided Tuesday by this decision. seemingly. then well I was I mean I was in the. training room doing rehab and it's one. of those things uh like in a John Wick. movie is the best way to equate it where. John Wick becomes ex communicado and. then everybody at the continental's. phone starts vibrating yeah it was it. was it was kind of like that just. through the building holy [ __ ] holy [ __ ].

holy [ __ ] A lot of that type of. reaction I mean there was you know there. was a lot of uh you know conversations. that happened after that I mean listen. football is is a is a family atmosphere. uh you spend more time you know for many. of us with these people than than our. own loved ones um so it's a tight-nit. community and um. you know I think everybody was was.

feeling for for Robert and uh and. worried about him go ahead AJ so you. said Woody called you is that normal. like is it normal for Woody to call you. at you know random times after games or. is that a specific uh like onetime. Affair did you get any kind of feeling. like oh that was that was something more. than him just checking on. me no I mean I felt it was a nice call. man I was appreciative that he checked. on me um we've talked on the phone uh. number of times over the last couple. years he checked on me after my surgery.

uh he checked on me during the rehab. process uh Christopher Johnson uh his. brother you know and and I have a good. relationship you know he'll he did the. same thing he checked on me as well made. sure I was okay um so it it didn't seem. nothing was abnormal I was actually. really thankful you for the call Coach. Hackett have you talked to him cuz his. name obviously has been thrown into all. of this quickly and how do you feel. about his position and how do you feel. about everybody in the building with him.

and all the drama that is seemingly. surrounding you two's. relationship raw relationship's great uh. it it uh always has been and and always. will be I think um you know that there. was going to be uh some things that. needed to change regardless of uh you. know what happened to Robert and um you. know we just haven't been playing. consistent football on offense and as we. know the definition of insanity is doing.

the same thing over and over and. expecting different results so um you. know there was there's when you when you. have a couple games and and obviously I. didn't play well in either of them but. where you just don't uh play very. efficiently um you you got to adjust. some things so um it's a part of our. game change is part of our Sport and uh. you know I know there's a lot of things. that were swirling out there but um at. this point you know brick and I have. talked uh a couple times and um you know.

I'm on board with whatever he uh decides. as far as the offense goes and um I want. to do his best for the team and and uh. we're throwing our support behind uh. coach or Brook and. um uh whatever he believes is best for. the team is is what we're going to go. with uh you just called him brick that's. a sweet nickname so let's talk about. Coach brick real quick what changes yeah. I mean I want to be respectful I it's. brick I guess when he's DC and maybe. it's coach or brick Oh full name okay. you know to start here yeah maybe just.

coach Jeffy yeah big Jeff yeah big Jeff. maybe that'll be the thing and obviously. you know he's Salah hired him so you. know like that their relationship I. couldn't even fathom how close they are. that is the football business that is. how coaching trees happen uh because of. how close people are and staying in. touch and everything like that firing a. coach after week five you love the game. of football more than anybody I've I've. talked to the history of it the story. like the tradition of it you're still. wearing that stupid you need to wear a.

different chin strip you know all that. stuff you need to evolve a little bit. but I respect it because your old school. nness has you break an ankle and then. not even miss a play and come back out. all of that thing but firing a coach. after week five normally doesn't end up. like you know great long term what do. you think coach brick is going to do. with the opportunity here and what do. you think change is kind of going. forward yeah that's a good question um. I'm not sure I mean I think uh out of. deference and respect uh to Robert you.

know it's not it's not going to be. wholesale changes I don't think um but. Brick's going to add his own style uh to. it you know he does a great job with the. defense I've gone against him over the. years in different coaching capacities. um believe that we were both playing at. the same time too um so we have a lot of. uh a lot of stories that overlap and um. yeah I really enjoyed getting to know. him uh last year year especially in the. offseason spending time with him and.

he's got a Incredible family as well so. I expect uh you know Steady Hand from. him and and great leadership he's a. former player knows knows what it's like. to be in the locker room and I think. he's going to do a a great job but the. most important thing is that uh there. has to be some change you know uh even. just the smallest change to. um we need a we need as players to take. accountability for what's happened I. think that's the thing that hits you too. in the moment is if I'd played better on.

Sunday this doesn't happen and as. somebody who who takes a lot of pride in. their performance uh that was the main. sentiment for me yesterday uh obviously. heart going out to Robert because how. much I respect him and care about him um. and then the just disappointment of poor. play uh that could have uh avoided a. situation uh like we had so um I think. it's good perspective moment for all of. us to reset mentally uh a lot of a lot.

of stuff is right in front of us you. know starting with this week a division. opponent a chance to get to three and. three and be tied for the division lead. um we have 12 games left it's a long. season there's been years where we. started slowly and finished really. strong 2016 we're four- six and won our. last eight to get into the NC. Championship 2012 we were one and two. and went on a big run um there's always. that run in the season where you you you. hit it you want to be playing the best. in the winter months and I think there's.

a lot that's that's in front of us and. and I'm excited uh excited about uh. about getting back to it tomorrow yeah. coach Salah said in his uh statement. yesterday that he was disappointed with. the fact he didn't get the opportunity. to make it right with what he feels is a. very good locker room or very good. roster or something like that you still. feel that way uh and jets fans should. still feel that way with everything. that's happen happen like everything. that you guys dreamed of whenever this.

Jets Aaron Rogers thing came together. last season and then going into this. season still very much reality for these. Jets fans when you look around in there. well you know how the league goes. narratives can change very quickly in in. a matter of a few days or a week uh. things can can get flipped upside down. so um you know we're it's just on us. right now I think as players to really. take accountability um player cuts are. less more drama ized than uh firing of a. coach um I would say that's is probably.

a true statement for the most part. obviously there's been a few over the. years that get National headlines but um. the players are the ones out there. playing and you know we need to be. accountable for our performances all of. us myself first and foremost and we got. to fix that part um uh great coaches. have great players you know that's. that's part of it obviously they add. their own personality to it the had. their own flare and style leadership. qualities and and uh and vision for the.

team and saying the right thing at the. right moment and creating a a player-led. team that has the the freedom to hold. people accountable but the restrictions. and boundaries to keep uh uh some of the. stragglers in line that's an important. part of it but first and foremost at the. core of every great team is. accountability so we got to be. accountable to each other about our. performances and and and be better let's. talk about that let's talk about that a. little bit more has a question for you. yeah as a as a quarterback you know.

you're always under the microscope so. how did you how do you I guess what. helped you or who helped you what. process was it a person that helped you. kind of block out those narratives and. now you're older quarterback older. veteran quarterback but there's a young. young quarterbacks dealing with as well. and it's much harder for them I feel. like to block out those narratives so. who or what process helped you to kind. of block those things out and just lock. in on. play well I think part of it had to be. DB the uh the insulation of playing in. Green Bay um. you know it's it's a a blessing and also.

a strain in its own ways because uh it. is a small town at the same time it's. the only show in town so you learn a lot. of really good lessons as a young player. about how to uh keep your focus and. perspective or it needs to be um there's. always going to be narratives outside. the building um but you have to hold. yourself to a certain standard and let. that standard be your guiding uh. principle your North Star not what. everybody else thinks or says about you. um easier said than done especially as a.

young player I think you got to go. through some of the the aches and pains. and bumps and bruises and ups and downs. of uh of the early part and try and keep. your confidence intact um a lot of that. has to do with the process you talk. about the process of preparation and and. your week and you have to figure out. what works best for you obviously having. sustained success kind of makes that a. foundational part of what you're doing. doing but uh it's important to to stick.

to that and not to uh deviate uh based. on a win maybe I do a little bit less I. don't have to study that much or a loss. oh I got to do way more I got to just. get in there and grind in there at 5 in. the morning I don't I've just never uh. never subscribed to that way of doing. things I think you can figure out what. works for you and then stick to the. process obviously F tune and find little. tiny uh ways to uh to reset uh after a. win or a loss um but but it starts with.

being self-critical and being. accountable to yourself and your. teammates after a win or loss just go. ahead and slam some iasa and then just. move the next one keep moving all right. T butt okay that's just what funny it's. funny I used I used to talk a lot about. drinking Scotch um you know I'd always. say oh you know tough game what are you. gonna do tonight you know like probably. have three or four fingers you know. Scot now now it's now three or four. fingers Scot Scot.

Scot that's what I said I don't know. what yall talking about talking about. the fingers in the scotch come on. unbelievable this guy never ends mine's. in the gutter anyways yeah now you just. do iwka we get it it's just kind of lay. around hit depend life. changes I mean can I just set that. narrative straight as well I'm not a. recreational iasa user okay what all. right all right put it on the put on. Shaman a shaman has to be Pres. okay we got it okay that is a narrative.

that a straight Enthusiast yeah okay. that's fine but not a recreational user. please I want that that out is anybody. on Earth you know the world better than. me is anybody just a recreational iall. you know what yeah I want to go to 10th. Dimension today and then the next day. and then the next day and then the next. day is anybody doing. that it's possible I would say do you. might need to do some field research and. go to Burning Man next year to to kind. of test that theory okay I think so uh. I'm 37 where's that that sounds fun it's.

in the desert it's in the Amazon jungle. no no no it's in America that's where. bman is no it's over there I think it's. left in the desert Nevada right it's. Nevada anyways AJ has a question for you. Aaron you mentioned obviously being. insulated in Green Bay what's that New. York media market like is it what you. thought coming in like what kind of. challenges does like do head coaches. have coaching there I feel like there. it's obviously magnified compared to. maybe other. franchises yes it should be it should be.

you know it's New York it's one of the. biggest cities in the world it um you. know has iconic uh sports franchises. that play iconic players who've played. for those franchises so it's it's part. of it it's what you sign up for um I. think it's a you know it can be a a big. positive um it's a great learning. experience for all of our players young. and old um we have a lot of coverage on. our team uh a lot of uh sources um. source and I think it's important that. we uh you know try and tune out some of.

the outside narrative as much as. possible is how we we're going to give. ourselves a chance to to turn this thing. around and and make a run I hope you. guys are able to do that would be a wild. story and I hope if you guys go on win. Super Bowl they give Salah a Super Bowl. yeah you know the entirety of it all. let's talk about the game that happened. in England shout out to England by the. way love when those games happen one's. happening this weekend uh I believe 9:30. yet again in England and if you get NFL. plus you can stream NFL Network on NFL.

plus so it's like boom you got it on. there they got it all did you enjo. obviously you didn't uh AQ has a. question for you that's on me that's. 100% on me nothing good happened that. [ __ ] that is on me AQ has a question. though about you know your trip over. there yeah Aon you saw Brian Flores and. he's getting a lot of hype and what he's. been able to do this year question is. what was he doing on third down that was. actually what is he doing period that is. really good and second his third down. package with the seven up I mean. dropping guys out and bringing four to a.

side whatever you know you see it on. tape and it just seemed like they bring. something different every time what did. you see that he does. differently well they definitely had a. couple wrinkles on third down um uh you. know for the most part they were. dropping interior guys coming in the in. the plan and they dropped van gko right. into the throwing Lane and he had a pick. six on me which was a great play by him. and disappointing play obviously giving. him seven there because our defense. played so well but um I think it's more. than just the seven up stuff obviously.

that's going to get the attention uh. it's how you get to the seven up stuff. and that's winning on first and second. down because a lot of that shows up in. the third and I would say five six plus. you know which you know third and four. to six those are manageable third Downs. third and seven uh extended are a little. more difficult uh but it always comes. down as you know a Q2 uh protection on. those downs and if you're bring in an. extra guy then we can block based on the. pre- snap look uh it forces you some s. to make some adjustments whether in. protection or routes to get the ball out.

um and I think the what's lost maybe in. the conversation around B flow which he. deserves a lot of credit uh he's done a. really nice job is how good they've been. on first second down and that's to me. what they're doing on first second down. is a lot of movement up front and uh. some different types of fronts um. they're uh in three down personnel and. running uh four down spacing uh in in. some of these fronts uh which uh is. obviously uh different now there's been. some teams that have done that whether. it's playing an overr as the Rams have.

done at times with Aaron Donald and. trying and find singles for him uh they. were in more of a what I call a g front. and even even G front where there's a. three Tech backside and a two eye front. side and out of that what they can do. because most teams uh will if it's a. pass play will put as you know AQ will. put five on five in that situation now. I've created different types of Leverage. points now you have a center slide into. a two ey you have a guard slide into a. five and a tackle slide into a nine.

backside you have a three and a whatever. you want to call the open end but what. they do out of that is they'll fire the. wheel at times so they're taking the. back out of. the uh the route concept and and so. you're eliminating checkdowns and doing. what we call I like to call replacement. uh fire zones where they're still in. bringing four or five guys five in this. case and Bas so they have athletic guys. on the edge like vano who can drop in. the coverage and so you've eaten up the. back based on being in a 345g front or.

even a 325 front and now youve. eliminated the checkdown and also not. eliminated a player in the coverage. scheme so um very uh a very good scheme. by him and uh and the execution though. obviously is the most important thing. because like you said they have all the. different looks with different guys. different spots and they can play two. sky from it they can play straight up. Tampa two they can play where the. corners are the the half field players. they can bring everybody they can play. one height out of that they can play 44.

man out of that they can do a lot of. different things it's a credit to. obviously how they practice and uh and. the flexibility they have with those. with those players in those positions. have to have like super intelligent. defense right like the players have to. this is kind of like what was happening. with the Chiefs last year right at the. end where spag said I have 11 guys that. know everybody's job you have to be able. to do that with the Vikings defense and. I looked at your guys' schedule here I. just got reminded you guys have played. the Vikings defense Broncos defense and. Niners defense here in the first five. weeks that's welcome to 2024 football.

baby let's go ahead and get that thing. sorted now against the Vikings there was. a moment had us all worried Aaron go. ahead con yeah Aaron when you got bent. back there it was looked very very bad. and then obviously you came right back. out on the field when it did happen was. there any worry or PTSD going back to. last year I assume a lot of jets fans. were feeling that right away and then if. you haven't yet there were some great. memes from that photo and that play and. all funny now since you didn't get hurt.

seriously back to the meme so I'm just a. walk you're M. machine there's a bunch coming out today. too yeah you're a me machine there's. already yeah I don't know if it great. yeah it was very very painful as I was. going down my foot was caught I I've. been rolled up on before but maybe not. with my foot being caught in this way. usually it's you know maybe ankle is. caught or you know your knee is going. but a lot of times you you can kind of. like wiggle out of that or something. happens where the pressure gets Allied.

alleviated but that didn't happen so uh. for me there was a it's interesting. really good question by UBC because uh. there was a split second where I. remembered what happened last year when. I got up uh because every player's worst. fearure I think is being carded off the. field and for me having been hurt you. know a handful of times I always want to. just get off the field let me get off. the field if I got to take a cart I just. don't want to take it from the field.

just give me off the field and when I. stood up last year and my heel hit the. ground the the the dread that filled my. mind. was damn that's bad you know and so as. bad as I was feeling in that moment I. just wanted to stand up and in that. moment there was there was the the the. memory of that feeling and when my foot. hit the ground there was a total relief. that came over me as I realized okay I. don't think anything's broken let me.

just walk off here and then I was just. teasing one of our equipment guys Jim. there was a interesting moment where I'm. walking around the back of the bench to. go to the blue. tent and I hear the crowd do something. so I'm like oh is that like a partial. block punt bad punt good punt whatever. and I realized that Teemo just got. roughed but a lot of times as you know. Pat there's not a lot of protection for. the punters and it's very rare actually. you get the 15 yard most of the time. it's just a five Y and so I kind of.

waited and when I saw him do the. personal foul signal then I was thinking. to my right is the blue tint to my left. is Jimmy from the equipment staff. holding my helmet he doesn't quite. realize what's going on and I looked. over him I actually told him this just a. little bit ago and I saw him I said I. said I want to thank you because you. gave me that 1% extra that took it over. the 50/50 Mark where I was thinking. maybe I should probably get this taped. up right now and just checked real quick. but when I saw Jimmy hold my helmet I.

I think you know we all get reminded. quickly like this is a guy who's what. year is this for. you 20 three head coaches you're a coach. killer you heard. that I have not heard that yeah there. was a couple I'm telling you I wouldn't. worry about it Aon you just in his gums. well I mean I don't know who said it.

exactly it started I. do I'm done with it okay all right Gumpy. not the biggest fan of who ever started. that entire thing but three coaches 20. years is this the first time this type. of situation happened here week five for. you week five yeah I mean Mike was let. go in. 2018 um and I mean just like this one I. you know had no uh four knowled know of. any of it um that was you know after a.

real bad loss to Arizona and we honestly. weren't that good in 2018 I think we. were four six and one at the time uh if. Ty was here you could probably fact. check me but um congrats Ty yeah. congrats TY but that was that was hard. in its own way because Mike and I had. been together for 13. years and you know he had uh believed in. me and and stood by me in. 2008.

um and that was a very strange strange. time for sure and every Situation's. different um like I said I came to New. York part of the reason was because how. much I believe in Robert Salah so every. situation is is different um but again. like I said before it's a reminder uh. we're so fortunate to play this game and. it's a beautiful incredible profession. that had given all us all of you guys as. well everybody in the back yeah such an.

incredible opportunity and Life to Live. you know I think about the late great. Bill Walton and every time I saw Bill. whether to me or someone else and I. never understood why you saying it to me. but he he would say one of his favorite. sayings was thank you for my. life and I always thought that was so. cool like he just he lived his life with. a gratitude for all the amazing things. that happened and talk about a guy with. stories everything from playing for Jack. Ramsay and and and uh playing for the. Celtics to you winning championships.

UCLA and John Wooden uh being a Grateful. Dead you know uh Super Fan best friends. with with all those guys and all he he. lived his life with such gratitude and I. think that's the other reminder is you. know is just gratitude for the. time uh to be in the league gratitude. for my time with Robert for the. conversations for the Les for the golf. for the fun times for the jokes um for.

the hugs which there were quite a few no. not quite a few there was there was a. few could have been one more for sure. could one more for sure one right on the. sideline could have been one more after. a cool play yeah but this this game has. given all of us a lot but it's also a. tough it's a tough business AJ what do. you got bub you mentioned Aon that you. you uh were in the training room when. you found out like whatever time it was. in the morning what how long do you stay. at the facility like there's no protocol. on how you handle something like that.

what do you do especially as a guy in. your situation like do you feel like hey. I got to walk around and rally the. troops like what what. happened well my first priority starting. in the day was rehab you know I'm trying. to trying to uh get my my leg to feel a. little bit better uh so I was in there. uh early doing rehab and um then that. obviously uh you know changed the. direction of the day for all of us um I. knew that the schedule was going to. change and that something you know there.

was going to be uh you know there wasn't. going to be a 1250 uh special teams. meeting and quarterbacks at the same. time um so I just I think my message was. just you. know just get to the facility and and be. ready for uh you know a different type. of day uh the Leadership Council met. with the ownership uh to start and then. we were informed brick was going to take. over and then there was a team meeting.

and then we had some individual meetings. so again it was a different uh different. schedule for the day but uh yeah I was. in there doing rehab and and that's why. I found out so Leadership Council meets. with ownership after the announcement. before the coach Orrick announcement and. then does ownership address team as no. no at the same at the same time yeah oh. same time we met we met uh it was you. know it was after the announcement. I don't I can't remember exactly how. much time uh it passed but then you know.

there was a text about the leadership. council meeting with the uh management. and uh and Woody and Chris uh Johnson. and then uh brick was in there and he. addressed us and then we had a team. meeting and it was very similar just. with the rest of the team got it okay. well hey thank you for joining us. clarifying your side of the entire. situation because your side was being. given uh to the internet there for a. while you're a me machine and uh we wish.

you in the New York Jets luck the rest. of the season this week big one on. Monday Night Football obviously today is. your Tuesday off day we appreciate you. chitchatting here in between treatment. sessions and uh good luck on Monday. night. brother yeah I appreciate it guys thanks. for being flexible obviously yesterday's. schedule got kind of thrown all around. and this was better because we would. have only had a few minutes yesterday. but um you know just to finish this uh. uh you know I think I just want to say. um first of all like thank you to Robert.

like thanks for bringing me in and. getting on board with that um you know. just publicly obviously there's you know. words that we share privately but you. know I'm thankful for for Robert I'm. thankful for uh his leadership for our. team I'm thankful for the conversations. that we were able to have and and uh you. know him trusting me and and the way he. cared about his players and um and a big. big uh love out to his family wife their.

kids especially Adam sending you a big. hug buddy and uh just remember this. there's a there's a human side to this. there's the there's the humanity in all. this and there's there's a family an. extended family that's really hurting um. so when you're out there as the internet. does and as people do celebrating this. in whatever way you do just remember. there's there's a human aspect to it. when it comes to me I don't feel like I. need to defend myself or say anything.

there's always going to be narratives. out there and conversations around what. I think and how much power I have and. how much influence I have it's not. something I worry about it's it's it's. really not I care about my teammates. care about winning I'm accountable to. myself my organization my teammates I. got to play better I will and we're. getting behind brick and there'll be you. know there'll be some changes with it. and that's the direction we're going to. go but we're going to stand behind brick.

and we have a lot to play. for and yesterday was about uh. remembering uh how tough how tough this. game is and today is about moving. forward and embracing the changes that. are coming the changes that have already. been made and sticking together and it's. a time for us as players to lock arms. with each other and find that belief. inside of us because that's the only way. that we can Inspire the belief in our.

fan base to uh to get behind us uh in. the right way so I appreciate you guys. and uh I'm going to go home and uh relax. a little bit and hell yeah look forward. to tomorrow hell yeah hey we appreciate. you that was a good speech brother that. was a good speech Let's go run through a. wall for the New York Jets you're the. man ladies and gentlemen Aaron. stance on it all AJ yeah I mean I if you. think about like I don't know how many. people other than Woody knew of the. decision or if it was just Woody yeah I. to think now okay what are we what. what's the plan going forward Brick's. got to find a way to bring everybody. together like it's a that's a big task. man I'm looking forward to see how they. handle it they're putting out some stats. about Woody Johnson's uh time as the. owner of the Jets you know it seems like. there is you lose you make this decision. this thing happens you know it's going. to get loud and the thought of ownership.

potentially you know like seeing. headlines and hearing from Friends. remember Mara the owner of the Giants. went on the record and said an interview. he was sick of telling his friends and. explaining to his friends why the Giants. suck at football so they spend money. that when Aaron says there's a human. aspect to the coach other side there's a. human aspect to these bazillion that own. teams too and a lot of pride a lot of. ego a lot of convos potentially maybe he. did wake up and say I'm done with it. fired maybe we don't know first time.

he's ever done it in the middle but we. will learn I assume inevitably this. story will continue to evolve and grow. and I hope we get a chance to hear it to. coach Salah and his large family yes. very large Adam and Aaron had handshake. actually training kid remember had like. their own handshake in that entire thing. people don't talk about that or forget. about that it's like uh I think you all. are going to have a much happier life. wherever you go to next and he's de. coordinator for sure that's right thank. some places some places he can end up. but in in that Jets building it is still.

Rogers about the situation happening. around the New York Jets that's former. teammate of Aaron Rogers and best friend. of Aaron Rogers and alltime leading. tackler for the Green Bay Packers AJ. Hawk AJ just the reaction seems like. everybody uh like uh isn't sticking with. their original opinion that doesn't seem. like really no that is happening that is. happening presented new facts don't care. don't want to read him don't want to. hear him that's not how I believed. yesterday and for the good of how I feel.

about my take yesterday I'm sticking by. it so you can eat [ __ ] that is what a. lot of people I think are saying others. I think are pumped especially in the. Jets fan base saying you know what okay. here we go seems like brick is a guy. that people like his coach who still got. a belief in the roster and we pointed. out I pointed out to him they played the. ners the Broncos and the Vikings defense. in the first five weeks they're two and. three so coach even get fired after that. that Onslaught you know that could be a. tough defense play against but they got.

to feel good about the future on the. field with how they've played and Aaron. even alluded to it seems like once a. year there's a run that we go on and he. said we and I think he was talking about. himself the offense he runs hacket. seemingly the team that he's on and I. think this defense is better than a lot. of defenses he ever had for the Green. Bay Packers it's like sounds like he. still has belief that a season can be. had here AJ yeah and for greeny and the. rest of the Jets fans like dbut said. like everything's out in front of them. it's true usually when a coach is. getting fired all right here we go pack. it in season is over this is one of.

those rare situations where no like it's. it's actually not especially with the. schedule and the roster they they could. make some noise let's go to the toxic. table always levelheaded uh at Boston. Conor in AQ Shipley sitting in for Tai. congrats Tai con man what you hear there. of the AFC still wide open yeah I mean. if I'm a Jets fan I feel good about it. honestly and we just popped up the. schedule there like there aren't many. games on that schedule where you look at. and you say oh there's no way the Jets. are going to win that football game. maybe you could argue the Texans but.

Ravens I me he was 0 and four and yeah. that's a great Point actually when you. playing for the Jets it probably it. probably wasn't too hot either but no it. is it's crazy that uh defensive head. coach who's had a great defense through. the first five weeks hasn't has been. fired which is still nuts but no if I'm. a Jets fan I'm thinking hey division. title still still very much on the board. and going to the playoffs and Mak it a. run still very much on the we talked. about this yesterday and we'll have Adam. shefer joining us here in a matter of. moments I believe uh yep okay I can't.

Aaron comes on tells the way his day. went yesterday he said he was in the. training room whenever he found out he.

did talk to Woody on Monday but it was a. quick conversation about his ankle and. how he was feeling which Woody Johnson. just wanted to see how it was going uh. from your standpoint I don't know if you. heard the entire conversation with Aaron. but is there any information that you. have learned of the situation that maybe. we didn't hear or didn't cover or from a. different angle out of the entire. situation yesterday of Salah getting. fired look I might be naive but I. thought Aaron came off as very. believable I really like Wood arey. Johnson calling to check in on his ankle. that sounds plausible short conversation.

sounds plausible he's in the training. room when he hears I believe all that. now I believe also that this had been. coming for a long time there were. conversations at the end of last season. about whether they're not they should. make a change they didn't make the. change they obviously were thinking. about at least Woody Johnson was. thinking about it all along and if we go. back I know it's Woody's. organization and he is the final say on. everything but the fact of the matter is. that when Robert Salah was hired he also.

was serving as the ambassador to for the. United States and the United Kingdom and. I still think that Christopher Johnson. was the guy that made the call he. doesn't make the call without what he's. blessing but Christopher Johnson hires. him and I don't know that Robert Salo is. ever Woody's guy so you had that in the. background the entire time what's. interesting is the margin in this league. is so small right if they win that game. on Sunday does Robert salid get fired. yesterday and I would say the answer to. that would be no that they would keep.

rolling with him but they had two bad. back-to-back losses the last one comes. in England where wood he was an. ambassador where he's got lots of. friends and in my mind that probably was. the last draw and he decided to make the. change for something that had been on. his mind that he had thought about and I. would imagine that we'll hear more and. more about this particular situation. there'll be more and more storylines. that emerge oh did you hear this happen. did you hear that happen but I don't. believe that Aaron ordered that firing. or was in on the firing or anything like.

that after listening to Aon Rogers I. don't okay so knowing Woody a lot better. than us to uh I would assume as well and. you said you know he potentially felt as. if Robert Salah was never his guy did. Robert Salah know that from wood doy. like and you said you this is. potentially long time coming and maybe. just a cherry on top uh being in England. in front of the lads that you had built. up your Ambassador friend ship with. around town and losing and flying home. with that entire thing do you think. coach Salah knew there was a possibility.

of this happening during the season well. I I think when anybody Works anywhere. you know the relationships you have with. certain people you know who you feel. like is in your corner and who's not in. your corner and I don't think it was any. different with Robert Salah I'm sure he. knew that there were feelings that. existed between he and Woody whatever. those were um and again I'm sure he felt. support but I'm sure he felt the. situation being tenuous as well both so.

in the end ultimately he loses his job. he has a year left in his contract after. the season and the one thing I could say. is even yesterday I heard from a number. of coaches across the league they're. like Robert Salah great coach he's gonna. have zero zero problem getting another. head coaching or defensive coordinator. job defensive coordinator job like all. his friends would be interested I think. in bringing him back to their staffs San. Francisco Matt laflor is his good friend. Adam Peters in Washington's his good. friend he's got so many good friends.

across the league and he's so respected. Robert Sol is gonna have options next. year about where he wants to work in my. mind you think next year right because. that was immediate thought by some fan. base who's like all right let him go on. a vacation here get past it two three. weeks four weeks and then boom drop him. in as defensive coordinator for the. playoff stretch down the road you think. definitely no coaching this year for. Coach Salah you know that's hard. question to answer because I think. Robert has to take some time I I I will. say this I do think that working in this.

market affected him I think he got a. little bit beat up mentally I think that. it wore him down a little bit I think it. drained some of the enthusiasm that he. had for the game I think that. unfortunately he let all the outside. noise get to him at times and to do that. job in any Market requires you to put on. the blinders and block out the noise as. best as you can and inevitably you can't.

tune out all that noise and if you're a. human being it's hard not to let it. affect you in some type of way and in. this particular case I think coaching. New York got him a little bit and it's. not an easy job to be a head coach in. the NFL anywhere but it's especially. difficult doing it in New York and it's. especially difficult when you're losing. games and it's especially difficult when. you're in the New York Market you're. losing games and you have the owner that.

didn't hire you to begin with you put. all that together and wears you out so. yeah so in my mind he's got to take a. little bit of time decompress in another. month or two he might want to come back. and Coach the playoffs in all. probability there's no rush to get back. into anything it's more important for. him to be with his family and his. children and there will be a job waiting. for him after the season a job of his. choosing waiting somewhere and he can go. do that at that point in time there's no.

need to rush back in to go do something. right now when you've been through the. mental ordeal that you've been through. the last four or so years so my guess. would be that he's going to be sidelined. for the remainder of the Season he'll be. back next season but let's see how he. feels in another month or two I'm just. learning of the aspect in the thought of. him knowing that the owner doesn't think. he's his guy either and then every time. the media says anything he like that. might that might be the owner literally. yeah that might be the owner feeding. like the just the mental games that that.

could play to your point about being. exhausting like I would assume that does. get a bit exhausting and I actually led. the show talking about the situation. about when Salah leaves the Niners he's. like. charismatic jovial array of energy. literally on the field right you you. could see the highlights of him on the. sideline jumping around running with it. did you see that with the Jets. subdued right what am I here for can't. act like myself yeah and with the ners. they were dominating everybody that was.

so much fun for him just going after and. then start losing then owner whatever. the case hopefully he does get back into. the game sooner than later for us but. for himself hopefully he does find that. football Joy again not saying he lost. his passion but the joy is what we. really enjoyed over there in San. Francisco go ahead AJ cheffy where does. uh the Jets GM Joe Douglas fall in all. of this I don't hear him getting brought. up a lot is are he and Woody on the same. page like was he aware of this have you. heard anything about. that I'm sure Joe had to be aware of it.

in advance and I'm sure that Woody told. Joe because I can't imagine an owner. just firing a head coach in the gym. getting an alert that your head coach. has just been fired like that that's not. practical in today's day and age I don't. know when he knew but obviously he had. to know and Joe Douglas is in his own. challenging situation with his contract. being up after this year so if I could. probably go inside the M of Woody for a. moment he probably says okay you know.

what we have in my mind the best roster. that we've had during my ownership as. the New York Jets including teams that. under Rex Ryan and Mike tanon bound went. to back-to-back AFC championship games. he believes right or wrong that this. roster is better and more talented so. now I'm going to pick a guy that I think. is very well respected in this locker. room a guy that I think is going to. bring some energy let's see what Jeff. Alber does with this opportunity we got.

a GM who's on the last year of his deal. and if they have the type of run that. Woody is hoping maybe he runs it back. with everybody and if he doesn't then. he's got no obligations to anybody to do. anything and he can start over so. literally he's got all the options out. in front of him and it'll be up to this. team to determine how he handles the. organization going forward the interim. coaching success rate not great if you. go through the history and then getting. the job back and having success in the.

future and everything they're bringing. that up with the Raiders right now with. Antonio Pierce not that it's fair I'm. just saying that is what brings up these. stats the Jets are going to be added to. that from what you're saying though it. sounds like Woody Johnson obviously. let's try to go on a run I like The. Talented uh uh Talent of the roster I. asked you on Monday after that Jets game. where Garrett Wilson was targeted like. 23 times or 22 times and Alan Lazar got. the ball a little bit but nobody else. really did this expedite did Devonte. Adam trade talk to the Jets because they. need another weapon maybe CU if they. score a touchdown there they just beat. The Undefeated Vikings maybe Devonte.

opens that up for them to do that you. said you didn't think that experti it. now fire coach head coach that is are. jets off the table for Devonte Adams in. trade talks or are they going all in. here for this what what uh how do you. think they they view the situation for. Devonte well here's where it stands in. my mind we are now at Wednesday. afternoon 1:15 Eastern and the fact that. there has been no Devonte Adams trade. this week would tell you that any.

Devonte Adams trade is going to wait. another week now because in the NFL most. every big move transactionally if it's a. trade is going to occur Monday and. Tuesday while teams are coming up with. their game plans getting ready to be on. the practice field. Wednesday I think if we went back and. looked at all the big trades that were. made in season very few of them are made. once you get past Tuesday in season so. we are at a spot now where it looks like. the Raiders are going to be paying.

Devonte Adams another $970,000 this week. not to play another game Hampshire got. Hampshire and another situation where. last week we thought the Jets and the. Saints were the most logical Landing. spots well the Jets lost another game. owner's not happy owner fires head coach. I don't know what they're thinking about. trading for a wide receiver certainly. not with what the Raiders are asking for. which is a round draic the Saints lose. their quarterback to an oblique injury. he's going to miss it sounds like. multiple games right now we'll see when.

Derek Carr can make it back so by the. time he gets back are they still in the. thick of the playoff race can their new. quarterback whoever it is keep them. afloat until they want to get back there. is Devonte is enthused about train being. traded to New Orleans today Bo so the. Jets and the Saints both have taken some. hits in the last week here that you. wouldn't have imagined and I do think. that that's opened the window for some. other teams to just kind of s around and. see what it might be and just kind of. lurk on the outside in the event that.

Things fall through with the two teams. that Devonte initially wanted to play. for which were the Jets and the Saints. all right well he's probably coming to. the Colts which is good news for us Alec. Pierce Josh gos Michael Pitman and. Devonte Adams with Joey. fla okay Anthony Richardson yeah and Jo. yeah Joey Flack Anthony Richardson. Aaron talked about how the how the. offense hasn't been great and there was. the rumors about Hackett uh and what he. was he was going to be as a play caller. or not he's going to respect whatever. coach orri decides to do on the. offensive side of the ball I saw the. report that potentially Todd Downing who. used to be the Titans OC could take over. play calling there have you heard. anything uh situationally about the OC. situation yeah in New York good question. tone and I would say this that Aaron. Aaron and his answer there to me were.

quite revealing that that was very. interesting because that certainly. sounded like somebody who had an idea. that Todd Downey might be the play. caller and obviously that had been an. issue that had come up this past week. and the fact that he said that leads me. to believe did you you just you just. broke news through Aaron's mouth you. knew that was the is that what just. happened there that's no no no I'm I'm. reading between the lines he's saying. I'm good with however this is going to. go right decision that that has to be.

made and if he's bringing that up that. he's good with what however it's gonna. go yeah then and and there's a new look. here's the bottom line here's bottom. line I was told this Aaron confirmed it. we move. forward is that what you're gonna. say you know Pat I think you should give. up this gig and become an Insider and. get right to the the. news no way I couldn't fathom your life. coach Jeff Al gets to decide who's going. to be calling plays Monday night against. Buffalo and for the remainder of the. season with him being a head coach that. is his first big decision the fact that. it's even up as a decision to me it's. sort of like a coach who says well we're. thinking about making a quarterback. change why don't you start having that. out there that you're thinking about it. to me it's in the process of happening. it's it's in motion so we'll wait to see.

what Jeff alri decides maybe he sticks. with the Daniel Hackett as the offensive. coordinator or maybe he decides to go. with some new ideas here and go with. Todd Downey got it we see okay new head. coach uh new situation does it change. anything with a Defender they have on. the roster Chef have you heard anything. about Hassan reck and is there any. status of him eventually showing up to. this team or is this just a lost cause. of Woody what was recruiting what he or. Woody was openly recruiting yesterday he. like you know what now that I got a. microphone drive on fire the coach on R.

you come on back on on 95 come on up. when is the last time that you've heard. like an owner making a public plea to a. player to come in right yeah legit. that's why yesterday was big day for old. Woody he's uh he's out there swinging. the wood around the do we think this. getting settled or money right well well. here's what I would say on hisan reck. there there there have been a lot of ups. and downs in this situation a lot that's. gone on behind the scenes and ultimately.

until he's in there in the facility. which who knows if it'll ever happen. he's not there like there have been a. handful of times where I think people. thought it was getting close where he. would come in and he didn't so got it we. could we could think he might be coming. in today and he doesn't we could think. he might be coming in and he doesn't. again. there have been a lot of false alarms in. this Assan reic situation more than. probably people realize and it hasn't.

happened and Hassan obviously is. bothered by a lot of different things. that have gone on he's disappointed by. the fact that he hasn't got the contract. he's not there he's still not there now. you know what with all du respect to. Woody rather than making a public play. wasn't Woody getting his own escort and. drive and go visit with a son and make. that same person helicopter maybe just. Mak it a quicker trip so you don't have. isn't it better to do that face to face. than through the media like that's what. I would if I owned the team and it was.

that important to me I would get in. front of that guy and explain my to my. to him how important you are to our team. and how much it would mean for you to. come in and what a difference you can. make and say whatever is that you can do. for him let him hear from you in person. rather than on a conference call to the. reporters so we're assuming that didn't. that hasn't happened yet behind closed. doors it sounds like not that I know of. maybe it has but not that I know of why. isn't he just take take one of those ice. do necklaces down there and say Hey. listen you want 30 million worth of. these every single year you got it okay.

NL um again I've already had people call. me you know the funny thing is this is. true I had an own called me on Monday. and he's like how many openings are we. expecting this year and I thought it was. it was an interesting question and it.

was the first time it had come up until. you now have asked me a second time and. we kind of went over teams and we. counted on Monday one two three four. five six seven eight eight potential. potential spots now again I don't think. it'll be that many I don't think it'll. be that many but there are like eight. places that you're looking at you're. saying. here's a spot I'm watching including the. Jets we have that listed and he was.

asking about that and then sure enough. on Tuesday like 12 hours later the Jets. fire Robert Salah and the fact of the. matter is there are 678 changes every. year in the NFL and the chances are that. there'll be 678 more after this season. it just out things go it's it's become. part of the sport Rao's available bich. che's available there's uh you know. numerous slowick Johnson Pete Carroll I. mean there's a lot of names out there.

team I finally got my Super Bowl run I'm. picked in the preseason to be first and. then it doesn't go exactly how you want. to go at the beginning of the season and. you feel like it's slipping away and you. want to make that change now to try and. Salvage this season as opposed to. waiting to do it later but I mean at. just defense is second in the NFL in. points per in yards per game 255 yards. per game they're fourth in sacks they're. seventh in point points per game like. that defense is playing strong yes the. offense is struggling right now they. need to put up some more points but if.

you're just looking at a situation where. coach gets fired and I understand over. the course of the whole thing but that's. a tough tough thing and then a question. that I had which obviously you guys just. had him on for a while but I'm very. curious I saw that Robert wasn't able to. talk to the team on his way out or any. of that like that's a tough one man like. not to be able to especially in this. situation at least see some of the guys. and like say appreciate it and I know he. calls them afterwards but man that's a. it's a tough situation it's business at. the end of the day it's business and. these you get to do whatever you want to. do when you're the owner but it's still. tough yeah you and Sher and Tyler from.

du perfect are suddenly doing that with. range and had to punt it so both of. those at the end of that game it was a. very interesting situation but I mean. I'm sure it's been talked to death but. that bill bill situation was truly. baffling yeah and Josh misses that throw. he would never because he was knocked. out on the field yeah yeah he couldn't. see also baffling also very very very. baffling I don't know how I legitimately. don't know how that works cuz the. I saw the traffic going out of a bridge. out of Tampa yeah out of Tampa it was. like one bridge in one bridge out it. looked like Independence Day that's that. it's crazy how quick [ __ ] can kind of.

turn to like almost like a third world. country because everybody's gasing up. you're not only gasing up your vehicles. you got [ __ ] 10 cans of uh you know gas. tanks power generators and other things. so you know on every corner gas station. out of gas so now imagine you got to. evacuate you got a quarter tank of gas. you got to sit on the highway for an. hour two hours you can run out gas on. the so it's it's a definitely a. situation down there that traffic looked. like four five six seven hours I mean it. was they they had a a helicopter which.

I've been. seeing helicopters on videos in North. Carolina I don't know what's going on. with that that that whole thing there's. a lot of [ __ ] I'm seeing I don't. understand completely and I saw you know. whatever but this stuff looks very scary. uh this is obviously one of the highways. on the way out of there of Tampa there's. some bridged areas a Tamp obviously to. get out I mean it's uh Positive Vibes. for everybody down there but I don't. know I don't know anything about storms. or the storm but everything I've read. and heard is this is this is this is a.

big one fourth biggest ever ever that. that's what I saw yeah and it followed. if it if it's as big as they think right. or but so hopefully yeah hopefully it. doesn't get there right don't sometimes. they get taken away out out to sea and. stuff yeah sometimes they slow down I. think the reason why the one that ended. up hitting Nashville and Georgia and was. so devastating there is because it. remember uh it hit it met another storm. and they kind of combined St situation. thrown towards Atlanta allegedly off the. shore so I guess with the way this one.

is cooking with the the wings and what. is potentially going to happen with jet. streams and I guess they're saying this. one is going to go yeah where it was. coming from is like you know when the. waters are like super warm that's when. it gets more and more powerful and. obviously it once it hits land that's. when it starts to lose the power but the. storm surges on that West Coast I think. they're saying like up to 15 ft crazy. like Tamp in like you know Pensacola are. so obviously that's very very very scary. did you see that uh hit the group text. that guy was in a green screen room yeah. the yeah yeah yeah exactly the man CGI. first of all.

technology phenomenal I don't know how. they're but the to like get. a a grasp of what's about to happen this. video who was this can we give credit to. the Weather Channel look at this it's s. of green screen I'd assume is where this. guy's standing but the way they're able. to get like 3D depth on top of this too. he goes from 3 feet and then I think he. goes to six feet then he goes to 9 ft. and it you know kind of like engulfs. everything and talks about what life is. like with the storm surge which is just. the ocean showing up right yeah it's. just the ocean showing up on land and.

allegedly everything south of where this. one's going to go is potentially going. to get hit with storm surge but they're. saying 15 feet potential storm surge. that's six feet there obviously I think. he's lying about how tall he is that's. probably about five no I'm not might. there's no reason for me to do that no. reason for me to do that at this time. right here but nonetheless that thing. gets up there all the way to 9 feet 10. feet it's like. I mean that's what that's what it. becomes houses getting taken into the. ocean then whole buildings and houses. going yeah not like just you know. sitting still water like it's it's going. obviously got hurricane wind look at.

that wind yeah and then look at the. angle it gets it gets up on top of this. this is why I think this is so. impressive I don't know if it's just a. green screen because then you have the. depth of this all the way down there but. it's like you can see how with this. Devastation what ends up happening like. the other side of those Ash those North. Carolina things we're seeing roads gone. like buildings wiped out it's like. this is scary [ __ ] nature and uh hey. we're pulling for all for all you down. here stay safe and if we could be the. doofus is on a screen that can make you.

be distracted a little bit from it all. because it's not just when it happens. obviously then it's the months and years. afterwards that's the worst part imagine. having no power trying to rebuild like. everything's gone soaked like yeah Debo. have you ever had to evacuate down there. uh no we've never evacuated um yeah I. can't think of any and and I've been. since 18 I've been pretty much gone for. a lot of them cuz it's football season. you know hurricane season football. season so went off to college to. Connecticut so it's you know it's a. shitty situation you can't be home and. sometimes but uh I haven't Irene was bad.

uh Hurricane Andrew was really really. bad I remember being that when when you. young and as when you're a kid it's kind. of like almost it sounds crazy but it's. almost like fun it's like we're in the. house you see the crazy winds the. lightning then you get you get in the. eye of the storm and it's literally just. quiet just calm cool nothing going on. then 30 45 hour later here's the other. side coming through so it it is scary. man uh I think 2000 if House was built. after like 2004 there were different you. know different regulations you had to. pass you got to impact windows on most. homes you put shutters up you know to.

kind of protect your homes you losing. power is always the thing especially if. you you know have medicine that you have. in refrigerator and older people that. have to have things plugged up so. getting the generator is important they. aren't easy obviously they aren't cheap. uh definitely important at least to. power certain parts of your home uh but. yeah it's it's scary man it's it's. intense um especially they talking about. like 15 ft of just yeah that that that. is that is bad like I said it was I want. to say a meteorologist been on TV for. like 30 years in Florida and he was like. like emotional like hard to keep it.

together saying like that devast and and. then on the other flip side of it we've. seen this before and then it hits and. it's not that bad so a lot of people. like oh yeah whatever you know I've been. here for however long but I I'm person. you know you take everyone serious you. don't know you know obviously only takes. one I do appreciate the fact though that. Florida people that's like a badge of. honor almost like I'm. I'm leing yeah Florida man Florida woman. like I'm not I heard about this 30 years. ago too the big one was coming we'll see. guess what I did I sat right here the. whole time what did Ned do smoked the.
