If you take the example of you know the mantra of  President Trump which was no war, we disengage, we stay at home, we work for America, America  is first. Well, a lot of what has happened in. the last few months is a complete betrayal of of  that position. So where does it take this great. nation which has been regarded for decades as the  beacon of democracy, the beacon of respect for. the rule of law. I think it's a huge question  mark and I think it's part of the uncertainty.

and the anxiety that abounds around the world  because you don't have a certainty about that. and this role model rightly or wrongly that the  United States uh constituted number one is not. holding because of what we just discussed and  number two has not been replaced either. Well, some some countries are thinking about what might  replace it. What do you make of Prime Minister.

Carney's suggestion that the answer is the middle  powers working together? Are you a Carney-ist in. this in this view? Yes and no. So I think that  uh when he says the old world order is is gone, I think he's right. When he goes as far as to  say uh that we need to reinvent everything, that's where I would have a different approach.  And I think that institutions that have proven. they their virtue and their capacity to respond  to crisis times such as the IMF, such as the World.

Bank, uh such as the the WTO, such as the health  um world organizations, such as the United Nation. to a lesser extent. I don't think that the these  ones are broken. I think they can be fixed. I. think they should be fixed. And I think that some  of the principles on which they've operated which. was based on the dominance and the prevalence of  the United States has to be significantly changed.
