AS MUCH SOUP AS YOU WANT (Ft. Taylor Tomlinson)

God, I hate it when you're in a photo. shoot and they go do like confident like. like I'm exact like I'm the boss and. it's always a male photographer and I'm. in charge. >> and like maybe do to the side a little. bit and then put your hands on your hips. kind of like attitude. >> Give me let's do an attitude one. Hey everyone and welcome back to another. episode of the comment section show. Sorry me your fave. Everybody knows me. who cares about me. On to the guest.

today. We have an iconic all-star, one. of your guys' faves, and one of mine, the one, the only Taylor. >> Oh, that's so nice. Thanks for clapping. That was really lovely. I'm not on tour. right now. Needed that. Needed that so. bad. >> Thanks for showing up now. You're a. little late. Oh my god, I'm so happy to. have you back. >> I'm so excited to be back. >> I'm so glad you could see my amazing. figure outside of the Teletubbies. I. truly I almost came in costume because I. felt so bad last time. I was on the.

Halloween episode and I showed up and. you like really did it. You were. fullblown. Was it Tinky Winky? >> Yes. >> F-blown Tinky Winky. And I was like, "Fuck, I really should have done. something." And you gave me some [ __ ]. for it rightfully. I did. >> And I felt bad about it. I still do. No. worries. I still feel bad about it. >> It's okay. I think it was a bonding. moment for us. >> It was. I should have come dressed as La. La L though here or you're just wearing. the exact same but then you come in. I'm. dressed like you. >> and then who's flying the plane. But I'm.

so happy to have you back. I've missed. you. >> I've missed you. >> What have you been up to? >> You know what's so funny is I I because. of social media I just always feel like. I'm like well I saw you yesterday. >> Same. Same. >> This is my second time ever seeing you. in person and I'm like well we were. talking yesterday. Yes. >> One-sided conversation just you talking. to me cuz I've been listening to your. audio book which is great. >> Oh my god. Thank you. I'm honored. >> Here's how I know your book's. successful. It's at every airport. You. know that. >> Yes, I did. Every every layover I'm. like, there's true. >> That's true. Hudson. That is true. Thank.

you. >> It's a really good cover. >> Real like uh what do you call it? Showstoppping. >> It is. It is. Did you have a lot of say. in the cover? >> Yes, I did. They sent me like different. mock-ups cuz I like was very particular. about the design of it because at first. I was trying to do just my middle finger. on the cover with my tattoos, which I. thought would be funny. >> That would have been cool. But then they. said like it could prevent it from being. sold in stores because that's considered. vulgar. >> So they really wanted my face on it, but. I didn't want to do like a kind of. picture, right? So I thought, oh,

covering my mouth would be cool cuz it's. like tongue and cheek cuz it's called. loud blah blah blah. >> It was really cool. And with the. tattoos, like if you have cool tattoos, you got to like I want tattoos so bad, but I don't feel that I have the vibe. for it. >> Really? >> I feel like if I got tattoos, everyone. would be like, >> "Really, [ __ ] you. Now you want to. start. >> Now you want to start. And also all of. my ideas are always stupid and bad, right? >> Like I thought it would be funny because. I was talking to my friend Sophie and we. were like gh we need to when we're on.

planes, we're on so many flights, we. need to read. We need to stop like. watching Netflix and just like unless. it's my special Prodigal Daughter out. February. >> 24th in case it's unless it's that. >> Unless it's that. But I'm like we got to. stop watching TV shows. We got to. remember to just like read on the plane. And we had been talking about like, "Oh, we should get matching tattoos." And I. was like, "What if we got just like read. on the plane on our wrist to remind us?". And she was like, "No." She's like, "Let's keep workshopping.". >> She's like, "That's not great." And I'm. like, "But it would be so funny.".

>> Yeah. You're like, "It would be such a. good bit.". >> That's perfect. Let's get the bad ideas. out of the way. >> Yeah. You first. >> and then we'll work on mine. >> And whatever you say, no, and then we'll. move on to a good idea. >> Exactly. I always want matching tattoos. Also, I'm like too scared to do one by. myself. So, I'm like there's like four. people in my life that I'm like. matching. >> Honestly, I'm a fan. My siblings and I. have sibling tattoos. All three of us. And and I will say too, not to foster. your whimsy a little too hard, but we. also tattooed a bit on our on ourselves.

Me and my siblings. >> You did? What's a bit. >> technically it is a bit, but like my. dad's very first tattoo was like a. little stick and poke in someone. and it. says 100% suin and it's really small and. it's on his big ass shoulder and it's. literally like half an inch long. He. hates it. It's like the worst tattoo. He. hates it. He's so embarrassed by it. >> And that's what you guys got? >> Yeah. Well, we got 75% because my dad is. 100, my mom my mom is 50. So, we got 75%. suin tattooed on us. >> I mean, that's amazing, >> right? I think so. >> That's kind of the point of a tattoo, right? Is you want there to be a good.

story behind it cuz people are going to. ask you about it and so you don't want. to be like, "Oh, I just liked this.". >> Yeah. Exactly. And we got it like all my. siblings like me, my brother, and my. sister. We got that for our dad. And. then we got like a moon for our mom. >> Oh, that's nice. >> So, like hers is sweet. My dad's is. stupid. Like on purpose. Like we're. like, well, obviously. >> Were you like, "We have to get one for. mom, too. You can't just get one. parent.". >> We actually came up with hers first. >> Okay. >> So, then we had hers locked and loaded. And then my sister was like, "You know. what would be hilarious?" And it was. funny cuz we were [ __ ] up. We were.

drunk at the time we came up with it. So, she was like, "You know what would. be so funny, dude, if we did that?" And. I was like, "That's hilarious." And then. when our tattoo artist like was going to. do our tattoos, we did the moon first. and then we were like, "Fuck it. Let's. just do it." Now it's tattooed on our. bodies forever. So, I mean, that is a. good one. And it's small. >> Yeah, it's small. Me and my sister have. it on the back of our neck and my. brother has it on his back, like on his. shoulder. I will say though, my brother. wanted it big as [ __ ] so it isn't like. 72 point font, which like kind of funny.

>> I mean, super funny. Bold choice for a. first tattoo, but kind of funny. >> Oh, was his first one. >> I love that. I love that so much. The. size of pangia on his back. It just says. 75% someone. >> Absolutely incredible. I mean, yeah, my. sibling Brin has a bunch of cool. tattoos. And then my one of my best. friends, Ariel, has a bunch of cool. tattoos. So, I get really intimidated. I'm inspired and intimidated by theirs. because I'm like, [ __ ] Well, it's not. going to come out that cool. >> Paralysis. >> Yeah. And also, I sort of feel like you.

can't just have one. You have to have. like four. >> So, I feel like I would just go in and. be like, "Can I have four?" And they. would be like, "No, >> start with one.". >> But I'll look stupid with one. >> Well, I guess four. If you did four, you. could do like four little ones. >> and then you could put them all in one. place or around your body and then. you'll I'm telling you, when you get. one, you're going to be like, "I love. it. I need more. I love it.". >> Everyone says, "But I have such like I. don't know. I've just have kind of like. a baby face and always have and it. doesn't seem to be getting better and I.

just don't feel that that's gonna every. when I was younger they're like you'll. love it later it'll don't worry it'll. all pan out and I'm like I don't think. it's going to I think this is it forever. but I don't feel that it um it it. supports uh cool edgy tattoos my whole. vibe. >> That's true. But you could get little. like patchwork ones like dainty little. ones. I think those are real cute. >> I'm just scared that. >> this was my first tattoo ever. This one. See, that's awesome. But I got it when I. was like in my mid20s. So, like I was.

older, like old enough to know because. I'm also a Virgo. So, I really wanted. all of them to match or have similar. vibes. Yeah. Some people don't like. that. That's totally fine for me and my. body. I needed them to match or there. needs to be balance in my head, whatever. that looks like to me. But, I waited to. get this one and I love it. This is my. favorite one. But then once I got this, I was like, now I got to get more. Now, I have four total, but. >> my two biggest ones are this one and the. one on my back. I have one down my spine. >> that's so cool. >> that goes like that all the way down to. the my lower back. >> That one was is one of my favorite ones,

but I never see it really unless I'm. like looking in the mirror. >> But that was so painful. I almost. regretted it. Yeah. >> It felt like I was being tased. Like it. literally felt like I was going. >> Well, on your spine. That does make. sense. >> There were parts where I wanted to tell. him. I'm like, I think you got it. >> Yeah. >> I think you got that spot. I don't. >> just halfway down the spine. >> You know what? I only want it on half. >> I only want it on half. I think it's. cool. >> Tribal it you need like uh shading like. a lot of gray shading. >> So you do like the outline first then.

the shading then gray shading which. gives it dimension. >> and that hurts. >> So yeah, it's just scraping like and. filling in like a coloring book. And so. like for the second session, the first. one I did like eight hours and then he. was going to finish it in the second one. the next day. I did the numbing cream. >> the second time because I was like, man, [ __ ] it. I don't I don't care. Like I. felt like I was being electrocuted and I. need help. We didn't do numbing cream. the first time. >> No, I I cuz I didn't do them for my. other ones. So, I was like, "Oh, it'll. be fine.". >> What? >> Yeah, it hurts. It hurts, but it's like. >> Who says no to the numbing cream if it's.

>> a lot of people do? >> What? >> Yeah. I think that's misogynist. >> People have natural child birth. It's. like, what are you trying to prove? Who. gives a [ __ ]. >> It's going to hurt. Take what you can. for to help it. I'm just scared that if. I get tattoos, I I look so wholesome. Like if I get words or something, I'm. going to look like a live, laugh, love. pillow from HomeGoods, you know, where. I'm like, they're like, "What's this?". I'm like, "It's a little Women quote.". Like, "Of course it is. Of course it is, you lame lame bitch.". >> You know what's funny is like if you do.

have that very um I've seen on TikTok. they call it a cutie patootie disease. That's what you have. >> I've seen that. You're a cutie patootie. >> That sucks. >> That doesn't That's not cool. >> That's not cool. >> You don't want to be a cutie patootie. You want to be like a bad [ __ ] and it's. [ __ ] sucks. >> You're I'm suffering from cutie patootie. disease. >> Whatever. >> It's a beautiful thing though cuz it. means you're never going to age. >> I. >> You're going to look young forever. >> I don't even think I look That's the. thing is now I think I'm aging. I was. like I thought the whole point of this. is that I look young forever and yet we.

are deteriorating. >> I'm pacing. For some reason I'm pacing. That's strange. I don't like that. >> Yeah. I'm like I'm supposed to look 21. and yet you can see the wear and tear. I I made a joke once on here. I think I. was talking to Katya, but I told her. like sometimes, and this is true, like. people think I'm younger than I am. >> Yeah. >> So, I was like, "Sometimes I think I'm. like in the clip I say 1920. What I. actually meant was like 21 22, early. 20s, I guess, is my point.". >> Yeah. >> Girl, you should have seen the amount of.

comments that were like, "You do not. look.". >> Yeah. >> 19 you hag. the amount of people that. were like, "You're a hundred years old, you [ __ ] cry keeper." And you're. like, "I'm out in the world." People are. telling me this. I'm quoting everyone. else. >> Yeah. And that's so fun. There is a big. difference between 19 and 22, though. There is. >> When I look at photos of me like 19 to. 22, right? >> I'm like, "Oh, >> there is quite the difference. You age. rapidly in those early 20s." I But then. when I did that 26, I'm 30.

>> You're 30. Okay. >> Yeah. I just turned 30 last year. >> Okay. Gotcha. Welcome. >> Thank you. Did you feel the shift? >> I did. Honestly, I felt it at 28. >> I told my sister, "I wish I skipped 29.". Cuz it felt like when I was telling. everyone, "Oh, I'm 29." I felt like I. was hanging on to my 20s. >> It was embarrassing. >> Yeah. It was humiliating. >> You weren't lying, but you feel like. you're lying. >> Yeah. You're like, "I'm 29." You're. like, you made up that number to stay in. your 20s longer. No one's 29. It's like. the 13th floor in a building. We skip. it. It's bad luck to be 29. I was like,

I'd rather just skip. Also, I've been. like mentally I feel like an old man. forever. >> Yeah. >> So 30 just made more sense to me. And. then I was like and then when I'm in my. 30s I get to say I'm in my 30s. Like. someone asked me in like a Q&A they were. like what's your favorite part about. being 30 or being in your 30s now? And I. was like saying I'm in my 30s to justify. anything I say. So like if I say dinner. starts at 11, I can't go I'll be in my. 30s. >> Yes. I'll be in my 30s. >> I'll be in my 30s at that point. >> I'll still be in my 30s. Or I'm like or.

like I'm like I can't eat that. It's too. late. I'm in my 30s. >> Like I was like it just punctuates every. it justifies my actions. Gives me an. excuse. >> That's such a good point. >> All of it. And also I'm a baby in my. 30s. Now I'm 30. >> I know. 30 feels good. 31 I didn't like. 32 feels good again. >> Oh nice. >> Yeah. It's been a roller coaster. >> I'm I'm grateful for the warnings. The. pitfalls that are ahead of me. >> But 30 felts so good. Yeah. 30 felt. great. And I did feel a shift where I. was like I always felt older as well.

when I was younger. So now I'm like okay. we finally caught up. >> Matches. >> Yes. But now I'm like cool I'm gonna. feel like I'm the age I always should. have been for like 5 years and then I'm. probably going to start panicking about. my mortality. >> So that's a nice little. >> fiveyear window between like the. insanity of your 20s and like. pmenopause. I guess. >> can't wait. Can't wait. That's what's on. my for you page. I like I joked about this with my sister. cuz like me and all my friends are.

pretty much in our 30s. I think like. >> young our youngest friends are like 28. >> Yeah. And you're like and you're hanging. out with us. So to be clear, you're in. your 30s now by association, >> right? And I think honestly some of our. friends who are in their 20s still, they've started saying, "Well, I'm in my. [ __ ] 30s. I'm not doing that." I'm. like, "Exactly." Yep. Condition the. brain now. And I think it's like uh it. there is a vast difference. Like we were. talking about look from 19 to 22 from 30. to like 25 there's like it feels like a. huge difference. >> Did you do the 2016 trend? >> Yes, I did.

>> You did. You did hard post. >> Yeah, I did. >> Okay. You're younger than me. >> I held out for a while though cuz I was. like I don't know if I like what I look. like back then. Let me let me look. >> Oh, interesting. Let me browse. I was. going to do it cuz I'm like this is so. funny. And then I put it in my stories. and I'm naturally brunette and I was. like haha, should I go back to brunette? And everyone said yes. And I was like, does it actually look better or am I. just younger? Because to be clear, this. was me 10 years ago. So yeah, of course.

you're like, you'd look 22 with brown. hair. NO, I WAS 22 with brown hair. >> And then I was like, we're not hard. You. guys have only ever known me as a. blonde, by the way. So that's kind of. [ __ ] up. >> Yeah. I was like, we're not I was like, we're not posting these to Maine. Forget. it. There's no way. I know. I follow one. of my friends is Emily Ratikowski. Mhm. >> I'm sure you're familiar with her. >> Yeah. >> She was like, "Who?". >> She posted a 2016 thing and I go, "What. the fuck?". >> Yeah. >> What's her problem? >> Yeah. Yeah. You look the same, [ __ ]. Yeah. Get out of Get out of here. Get. the [ __ ] out of my face. Yeah. You look.

stunning and gorgeous. Get the [ __ ] out. of here. That trend's not for you. >> Yeah. I saw that 2016. I said, "Get this. [ __ ] off my T.". >> I thought it was more to like see like. the trends and like how bad like your. iPhone camera was then. Yeah, that's. what it should have been. >> Yeah. No, hers. No. Stunning. Drop. deadad gorgeous. >> Be like, "Look how stupid my outfit. was.". >> Yeah. It's like, "Look at this dog. filter I used in all my pictures." I. literally told them like, "All my. pictures are blown out by filters." Like. Snapchat filters, regular Instagram.

filters, just ruined. >> Yeah. Back when we were like, "Anyone. can be a photographer now with the help. of filters." And it looks so bad. >> with sepia tone. Yeah. >> No, for real. It was like it it was I. think fun to post about it, but also to. >> hard awakening for the for the way some. people were talking to me. I was like, "All right.". >> Yeah. >> Relax a little bit. I was still bad then. and I'm still bad now. Okay. But you. could tell I think I was a big choker. girl back in 2016. >> I lived and died by the choker.

>> Yeah. >> And then one of the pictures I used was. me wearing a choker in the pool, >> which like should you be wearing a. choice in the pool? >> No. I mean, I I was so excited when the. chokers came back. >> and they weren't back for that long. No, really. >> It was just a moment. >> And I still want to wear one. >> and it's [ __ ] up that we can't. >> I know. It's just not the same anymore. >> Yeah. I feel like if I wear a choker. online, everyone's going to be like, >> "What are you okay?" Like, that will age. me. Like that's what's hard about. getting dressed in your 30s is you're.

like, is this the right balance of I. know a lot of people talk about this. about like I'm 30, what jeans do I wear. now? Like cuz you just don't want to. look like you're trying to look too. young, but also do you you don't want to. age yourself? You just like want to look. exactly your age. That's so. >> for the first and only time in your life. and I can't figure it out. No, that's. real as [ __ ] because I've told sometimes. when I've worn outfits, I'll like show. my my man and I'll I'll be like, "What. do you think?" And he goes, "Well, what.

don't you like about it?" I'm like, "I. just feel like I'm trying to dress like. I'm 22." Yeah. >> I've said that before. Like, literally. speaking, I'm like, "I want to dress my. own age.". >> Yeah. >> And also to this is like in the same. topic, I guess, as like dressing, but. >> I'm sure you could tell by my fit now. I'm a big fan of like huge t-shirts and. huge jeans. Like, like unironically, I. just love that look. I just think it's. [ __ ] awesome. Unironically, that's. how I dress. And then one time, like I. want to say about a month ago, there. were people online like making videos.

about me like basically going like, "Do. you guys think Drew got married or that. do you think she broke up with her man?". Which is weird because I'm not involving. them in the planning of my wedding. They. somehow think it's not happening. Um, which I was like, I just told you I was. getting married. I didn't I didn't say I. was going to involve you in the [ __ ]. I'm not a I'm not a lifestyle girl, so. you you shouldn't be checking in with me. about that. You're not invited to the. wedding. You're not hearing about the. wedding. That's how it works for me. >> But then they started saying like this. one girl made a video about me and she. was like I think she might be pregnant. because she's wearing big t-shirts all.

the time. And I was like THAT'S JUST HOW. I dress [ __ ]. >> Oh my god. >> They're so desperate to know anything. about you. >> They're like she's wearing these. disgusting fat Albert clothes and I. think she might be hiding something. >> Are you serious? >> Yeah. They literally were like oh my god. she's wearing You're right. She does. wear huge t-sh wears huge pants too. I. said, "Hey, what the fuck?" Like, >> that's so. >> This is a fan video. I can't tell. What. the [ __ ]. >> They're like, "We're so happy for Drew.". >> Yeah. And I was like, "Oh, I'm sorry I'm. not wearing my two-piece aloe yoga set. all the [ __ ] time. My [ __ ] bad.".

>> Oh my god. Honestly, that's 2016. I was. just like in activew wear all the time. like a [ __ ] loser. >> And a choker. >> And a choker. Oh my god. >> Had a choker on silly. I was also a big. like winged liner, fake lash, but I. wasn't. >> I didn't believe in blush or lip liner. So, I was giving spooky like my makeup. was giving spooky. >> Are you not wearing lashes right now? >> No, I am. >> Okay. Yeah, I have but they're. individuals. >> Okay. So, they're so good. >> Yeah. Thank you. I had lash blindness.

for a while. I'll say it. Sure. Yeah, I. did. And when I started doing this, I. still had it cuz I loved lash. extensions. Like, I loved getting them. put on. >> and then they get kind of crazy. >> Right. Right. After a while that you. could just see like you can even look at. my videos. Don't go do that. But if you. do look like my lashes get bigger and. bigger and bigger over time and then all. of a sudden they're all gone because I. started glamming all the time to the. point where like they weren't making any. sense to get them anymore because every. time I glammed like all the makeup, all.

the liner and he would still put lashes. on me sometimes. It just was ripping. them all out like. >> Oh yeah. >> It was just a waste of money. Sorry. >> Is this your real hair? All this hair. >> No, I have extensions. >> You do? >> Yeah. If you can believe it. it. They. look really good. >> Thank you. I know they're real blended. I And don't go back and look, but I I. have I used to be blonde, too, when I. first started. >> Uhuh. >> Uh making videos and stuff. So, sometimes when I look at old things, I'm. blonde and have crazy lashes. It looks. nothing. >> You're like, "Who is that?". >> Yeah. I was like, "Who is this woman?" I. did something recently, too, where I.

can't say what it is yet, but it's like. a project thing I'm working on, but they. were. >> Everyone's like, "She's pregnant.". >> I know. I can tell. >> She said it. SHE SAID SHE'S WORKING ON A. PROJECT. tell by the big t-shirt. And uh. they went back to look they were just. looking for like reaction pictures of me. >> and so I when they sent me. >> they always are so mean. >> They're bad. >> They're so mean reaction. >> What is that? >> It's like when they try to get a photo. of you on stage doing standup and it's. always just like. >> come on. >> Or me laughing for real in photo.

Horrifying. >> Don't do that. >> Yeah. I got a fake like catalog laugh in. order for it to photograph well because. my real laugh does not procure a good. result. >> Yeah. >> But I remember they sent me the deck of. like all the reaction pics and they were. like, "Oh, I just want to get your. thoughts on them." And I told my team, I. was like, "Yeah, get rid of all of them. They're hideous and ugly." And it's cuz. they went back like three years like. looking at my old videos and like my. lashes look insane. I'm blonde in a lot. of them. My hair is like insane in some. of them. I was like, "Hey, I look like. shit." So no. And you're like, I put out.

so much content. >> I was like, hey, can you look in 2025 or. does it have to be 2022? >> Why did they look so early? >> I have no clue. And they they went and. redid it and they sent it back to me and. I was like, that looks way better. Perfect. Also, you can go on my. Instagram. You don't have to. >> Yeah, we don't have to. >> You don't have to c capture me in. motion. You could go on Instagram, get a. static photo. >> Yeah, it's okay. >> I cut my hair like six months ago, and I. love it, by the way. >> Thank you so much. >> Do you like the bob? >> I I do like it. I think now I'm kind of.

like maybe we grow it out a little. I'm. not really sure because I just hit a. point where I felt. >> like weird having long hair. It I think. it was the age thing. I was like, >> you're right. >> Am I do I is everyone like. >> what are you trying the ponytail? Like I. don't know. I just felt it got like it. got like over stimulating. It just. started to feel crazy and now like I do. miss throwing it in a ponytail now. It's. long enough where I can kind of like. throw it back still. Yeah. >> Um, but yeah, it was so weird. It was. just like one day I woke up and I was.

like, who who is that? And my hair had. always been always been like that. And. it hadn't been short since I was in like. seventh grade, but I was just like, it's. not me. That's not her song. >> No, that's actually so real. Cuz my my. sister cut her hair into a bob, too. And. it unlocked something for her. It does, right? >> She was like And she was 31 32 when you. cut it. >> 31. Well, in the time you get back, >> it's just No, she said that to two. because her hair is curly like. naturally. And so I remember because.

I've been getting extensions for like a. couple years, but I used to get really. even longer ones. Like I'm a real go big. or go home girl. So like I'll go all the. way and then work my way back. Like. that's typically how I do. Did it with. lashes. >> Now I did it with hair. >> all the way and then I worked my way. back. And then she she was going through. a breakup. So she was like, "I think I'm. going to get extensions." And I was. like, "You're going to hate them, dude.". cuz she like. >> is this a lot of upkeep? >> Yeah, it's it is a lot. Like it's a lot. of upkeep. And she was like, "No, it'll. be fine." And then she got like long. extensions put in and she was like, "I.

[ __ ] hate them." And then she went. the three months, got them taken out, and then cut her hair into a bomb. And. then when she cut it in the bob, she's. like, "This is perfect.". >> Yeah. There's something there's still. something inside me that like wants hair. down to my waist. And I think it's I. think the something inside me is like. Miley Cyrus at her peak. >> Yeah. when I was like in middle school. or whatever. Like there's just something. that's extensions. Insane, by the way. >> Insane. She had way too much hair on her. head. But I love But they were so good. >> They were so good. It was when it was.

like that honey blonde like kind of. reddish color, too. Oh my god. It's so. >> And she had textured ones, too. So, they. looked even better along. >> I never feel like more of a millennial. than when someone brings up like Miley. Cyrus, Demi Lovado, like any of that. like class of Disney. And I don't even. think I'm like that. I'm like a normal. millennial where I'm like, "Yeah, I. liked them. That was they were great.". And then if someone's like, "Well, Miley. Cyrus isn't a good singer." I'M LIKE, "HOW [ __ ] DARE YOU?" You know, "You. know what? Put your clothes back on.

We're going to talk about it.". >> And you knew it was a man. You knew it. was a man. >> Yeah, of course I did. >> Cuz a woman would never. >> Exactly. >> But yeah, I get very like that's my. friend. >> You don't talk about my friend. >> I DARE YOU. SHE WENT THROUGH A LOT. LIKE. >> AND that's true. Holy [ __ ] That's so. true. I know. I loved them, too, when I. was younger. When they used to be on. YouTube. >> Oh my god. >> Did you know that when they were on. YouTube? >> When they when the girls were fighting. on YouTube? >> Yes. That one video that was like, was. it Selena and Demi and then like Miley. and they were like talking.

>> and Miley and her 50,000year-old friend. obviously cuz they were all 14 and her. friend was 22 or something and then they. made a video copying them. >> Yes. Loved it. >> A moment. I wish they could be flagged. that still. >> I know. Nobody's really like fighting. anymore publicly. Not anymore. Well, see, I It's funny cuz like I was just. telling my friend the other day, I was. like, "That's what the internet used to. be.". >> Yeah. >> Used to be nothing but funnies and. giggles. Now it's horrifying. >> Yeah. Now, >> and I'm on there. It's terrible. It's so. bad.

>> We can start a fight after this. >> Oh, perfect. >> Maybe when when this comes out, >> we'll start fake beef. We'll start fake. beef. >> and then we'll we'll promote your. special which. >> perfect segue. Tell me about the. special. Miss I have 20,000 specials. Tell me about the newest one. >> It's only four. >> It's a beautiful thing though. I'm so. happy for you. >> Thank you so much. I feel when you see. someone promoting something and you're. like, "Oh, I want to watch that." And. then it's not out yet. Are you furious? >> Cuz that's how I feel. I'm always like, "What the [ __ ]. >> Why would you edge me like that?". >> Yeah. They put out a Bridgetgerton.

trailer like six months ahead. I'm like, "Who the [ __ ] is this for? We What are. you doing? I do like Bridgetgerton. >> Okay. >> Wait, tell me about Tell me about your. special first and then we'll get. >> I'm just here to promote Bridgetgerton. >> Perfect. >> I don't like I do have a special, but. it's like who cares? Um, no. If you run. out of Bridgetgerton, I do have a. special. >> Yes. >> Uh, it's called Prodigal Daughter, and. it's uh it's the hour I was doing on the. Save Me Tour. >> And uh yeah, it's like it's a lot of. >> it's really it's really only like three.

subjects. It's religious trauma, death, and I'm gay now. >> Perfect. That's kind of the outline. >> Oh, my dream date. Cute. Love that. Amazing. Truly, my dream date is. >> ending up gay. >> Yeah. Ending up gay. Um, but yeah, it's. like I would say like half the special. warning is about like religious trauma. and like I mean I think it's I could not. have done this hour any sooner than I. did cuz like my 20s I've spent like a.

decade untangling. >> uh myself from Christianity and like all. the damage that it did. >> And then I got to like a better place. with it. And I've like, you know, I have. extended family that are nice Christians. and uh more progressive Christians and I. have friends who have Yeah. Exactly. So, for a long time though, for a long time, I was very like. >> if you're a Christian, you're a bad. person cuz like that's. >> which is fair. >> Which is fair. Look,

>> if you have the trauma, it's fair. >> Yeah. If you have the trauma, and I. think a lot of people feel that way. And. then I like worked through a lot of. that. And I think this hour is the. result of all that work because I. hopefully. it it came out very like I think. balanced and like more of a nuanced. take. And it's like I I am poking fun at. uh growing up Christian and and the. church, but it's it's not as malicious. as my like younger bits about it were. Um and then yeah, it's like me talking.

about death and. >> preparing for that. I think that's. really interesting. And I also think. that's very indicative of your ability. to grow as a comic, too. Like, you've. been able to like look back and see your. other stuff and be like, there's. probably something funnier in there. that's less antagonistic and driving. from a different place. >> Yeah. >> Where I can be a little bit more. understanding, but also still make jokes. and talk about what it is, the very real. things I experience. >> Yeah. Well, and when you're like more of.

a personal comic like I am, Yeah. you. you change your mind about stuff. So, like there's younger versions of me that. did all these jokes that I still think. are funny, but I don't feel that way. anymore, you know, and I know where it. comes from now, and I know why I was mad. about that or, you know, why that. affected me so much. And so, and it's. it's not just the religious stuff. It's. also like dating and uh. >> which is all so closely intertwined too. into religion when you were raised. religious. >> It really [ __ ] is. And look, there's.

some things that I'm like, oh, that's still definitely the result. of being raised in like abstinence only. culture. It's like, look, I'm not going. to be able to sleep with you right away. I would like to, but it's just going to. take me a little longer and I've done as. much work as I can. >> on that part of me, but yeah, it's, you. know, I need to like know you pretty. well. And it is what it is, >> right? And that's and that is something. that you unpack with time. Yeah. Like. the more you are able to sit with it and.

process it. >> Yeah. But you're like I started in a. place of you have to marry me to have. sex with me pretty good now that maybe. it takes 6 to 8 weeks. >> Progress. >> Progress. >> Look at us. >> Yeah. >> Well, I I'm curious like when you were. on the Save Me Tour, did you feel. yourself developing it even more? So, did you kind of stick to what you. already planned like going into it? >> Oh, I mean that's what I love so much. about standup is it's like never done. I. mean, I added lines the night of the. special. Like, I was editing it up until.

the very last second and then you get. into the edit room after it's filmed and. then you're still cutting stuff. So, that's what's so fun about touring is I. mean, I'm so spoiled as a comedian. because I can do whatever I want up. there. Like, there are nights I get up. on stage and I'm like, there are 2,000. people here and I can do whatever I. want. I can say whatever the [ __ ] I. want. That's insane. >> You guys have to do what I say. have no. idea. This is crazy. Like I was really. sick one night on stage and I just. talked about it for like 8 minutes and I.

was like you got like. >> I have a cold. >> I have a cold and you're here. >> and you got to hear about it. >> and you got to hear about it. Uh but. yeah, I mean you're just always. constantly like adjusting and reworking. and adding jokes that you forgot you. used to do and cutting jokes that don't. work in the hour. And like sometimes. you'll have a joke you really like, but. it doesn't fit like thematically in this. hour. So then you might save it or you. might just cut it all together and then. it goes nowhere, but it was like fun to.

do for a year on the road. It's really. interesting. I mean, by the way, are you. still dabbling in standup at all? Cuz. last time. >> No. And I was going to tell you that. I. was actually going to because I'm not. even kidding. That conversation sits. with me a lot when I told you about that. and then you were like, "Don't do that.". >> Well, I was like, "You're so Yeah. I was. like, you're so successful.". >> Yeah. You're like, "You skipped the. line. You don't need to don't do that.". I'm not kidding. That sits with me. I I. have thought about it. I've talked about. it in meetings with my team. I'm like, "Well, Taylor, a very established and. successful stand-up comedian, told me.

not to do that.". >> Well, you should if you want to. >> Well, that's the thing is I didn't I was. on the fence and I think you could tell. That's why you said that to me because. if it's not a hell yes, it's probably a. no. >> Yeah. >> Because it's that hard. Like that's like. it is that hard. But I was going to. bring that up to you because. >> when I was still kind of on the fence. like when I talked to you about it. >> Yeah. I wasn't like my mind wasn't super. made up but I was kind of like I mean I. did it once and I didn't love but also. like it was my very first time so like. if I keep going I'll pro maybe I'll like. it more like that's kind of what I was. thinking and then I got hired.

>> um basically I was sought out by a brand. I'll tell you who it was after. >> to do standup but like they wanted me to. be like the face of something like a. like a new thing they were trying to. make and I think they were trying to. mirror Netflix as a joke right they were. trying to like mirror that but with. women and and the first thing I said was. I'm not a stand-up. So if this is about. standup I wouldn't pick me because I. think you should pick established. standup comedians or people at least. pursuing that. >> because I'm not like it and it feels and.

you know me like it feels disingenuous. right to like take that gig. Plus, they. were going to put other people on the. lineup. So, I was like, "Well, if you're. with other stand-ups, like, I don't want. to be above them on on a marquee like. that, >> right? >> That's disrespectful to them. And it's. also stupid because I am not a standup.". And they were like, "It's not going to. be that. It's going to be like stand up, but yes, but also like live podcast and. also just like live this." And I was. like, "Okay." So, when they pitched it. to me that way, I was like, "Okay, sure.". >> Then I signed the deal and I'm in the.

deal and part of the deal is doing two. shows and they wanted me to do 20. minutes. Mind you, I've only ever done. the five. Yeah. >> So, I was like, "Oh, I gotta work up to. And normally you go 5, 10, 15, 20, but. okay, sure, I'll jump to 20." Like, because I was like, I could [ __ ] for. 20, but like I didn't want to [ __ ]. And I didn't want to just do crowd work. I wanted to like actually write jokes. Yeah. >> So, then. >> they tell me the 20. I'm like, okay, that's fine. And they're going to put. like five other people on the lineup. All of them. When the lineups came out, standups. All of them. Some of them.

Huge ones. And I'll tell you after. >> Oh, no. Like, and I was like, and when I. got those, I was like, why would you. [ __ ] do that? Like, I was pissed off. cuz I was like, I told you not to do. that to me. Like, and it's And then it. just makes me look like a dick. Like, I. look like a [ __ ] influencer that cut. the line like that. Like, >> well, and I really I It's so nice to. hear someone like respect the art form. of standup cuz sometimes I'm like, does. does everyone think this is stupid? Like, there's like do people think like. this is just silly? Like it's hard to be.

good at it. >> Hello. I know. And I know that because. I'm friends with a lot of standups and. I've tried it one singular time and I. was like that [ __ ] is hard and I only. did 5 minutes. I literally remember. after I got off I was like how the [ __ ]. do people memorize an hour, >> right? >> How on earth do you do an hour? I was. like I couldn't believe it. I was like. And none of it's crowd work by the way. the full hour. >> Slowly you do it. And if you do do it. sometimes it's just spur of the moment. It's not even planned in the hour. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, I was like, >> and those first 20 minutes are like the.

hardest to get. Like, I just finished a. special, so I have like no new jokes. I. If you asked me to do 20 right now, I. would be like, I can't do that. That's. literally what Caleb told me. He was. like, you're because your first 20, it. dictates the pace of the rest of it. Yeah. >> Right. So, like I was like, and the. success of it also because you could. lose them in the first 20. >> So, I was already annoyed about that. Then, when I saw the other stand-ups, I. was like, why would you do that? Some of. them I I love and I adore their comedy. And I was like, why would you do that? And then I was pissed off, but there's.

nothing I can do. I'm already in it. So. then I did the first show which was in. New York. So I did the 20. And so. because of the brand it was with this. was another reason I was annoyed because. in a lot of the marketing, it was. centered around me making fun of men, which like. >> yeah, like can I do that? Am I good at. it? Yes. Is that the only thing I can. do? No. But I knew that's what they. wanted because that's how they marketed. me in everything. Everything was themed. around me being a dick to men, like. making fun of them, blah blah blah, which I think are cheap and easy jokes,

but fine. Right. So, for this the set I. wrote for the 20. >> was centered on that. Like, I was like. using that as my my focal point because. that's what you hired me for. >> It's a corporate gig, >> right? Exactly. I was like, this is and. it was like sponsored and all of that. So, I was like, this is what I'm going. to focus on. This is what they want to. see clearly, right? Because they asked. they asked me to do all this other [ __ ]. involving that theme. And so, then I did. the 20. It did really well. Honestly, I. killed like I did a good job. >> No, that was the move. >> And I did a little bit of And I was like. telling Caleb about it, too. And I was. like, I also feel comfortable there.

Like I can I can pivot there really. easily because that's what I've been. joking about. So, it's easy, but it's. still annoying to me, but I'm going to. do it. So, I did it. I killed I did a. little bit of crowd work, too. That did. well, also. And then it was kind of it. And then after that, they were like, "Wow, THAT WAS INCREDIBLE. WOW, that was. amazing. Oh my god, that was so. amazing." Blah, blah, blah. Then a. couple weeks pass and then I go back. home because I was in New York and I was. supposed to do another show in LA and so. that was my last one. And then they had. a meeting with my team and they told my.

team um we had some notes about the set. >> Like. >> I want to know what brand it was so bad. >> I don't even know if you know who they. are really, but like I'll tell you. obviously after, but it was actually. I'll tell you now. It was. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, girl. It was them. >> But I hate them. >> That's okay. That's not what I I thought. you were going to say like Lollipop or. something. >> No, see, and that's that's the annoying. part is because the other brand was.

>> and so was the sponsor of that event. >> Got it. So they. >> That's why there were no other like live. podcasters. >> That's what I said. >> That doesn't make any sense. >> Yeah. And also who they put on the LA. lineup was which I already knew was a. terrible. Are you serious? >> Joy is so so bad. >> Okay, that's absolutely insane. >> So bad. So bad. Anyways, so they said we. have notes on the set. Um, which is. insane to tell me at all ever. And then. they said, um, we feel like she was too.

mean to men and we would like for the. next set to be more uplifting. >> What? >> And encouraging to women. I said, I'm. not [ __ ] Tony Robbins, so I don't. know what the [ __ ] you're talking about. Are you guys Did you guys mean to hire. Mel Robbins? Did you guys mean to get. her? The [ __ ] are you talking about? >> You come out with a wireless mic. >> I was like, >> you know what's great about the boys? >> I was like, "Put your hands together. Rub them together. We're going to create. the life we've always wanted." That's. what the [ __ ] I they wanted me to do up. there. And I was like, I cannot believe. I was shaking with rage when my my team.

called me after. >> That's insane. Yeah. And they were like, "We're uplifting to women. >> They want me to be more. >> and nicer to men.". >> Yeah. And they said nicer to men. >> Why don't I just lead everyone in making. vision boards? >> Yeah. Why don't we How about Not that. I'm hating on vision boards. I did make. a vision board this year and it's. [ __ ] working. Okay. >> Period. >> Beginning of February. It's already. working. >> I know. They want me to go up there and. open the room in prayer. >> Can I open this up in prayer? Do you. guys. >> Which would Hey, would be easier than. doing 20 minutes of standup. >> Hello. I was like, and I know I don't. know what Christian comedians make. So,

if I really wanted to pivot and make a. bag, I would go that way. Yep. >> And they literally were like, "Yeah, no, she it was just like a little too. negative.". >> A standup set. >> Too negative. >> Yeah. I killed. What the. >> I don't know a lot of like comedians I. would describe as positive and. uplifting. >> Yeah. Like what did you leave? >> Pull the room. Like they were like I. wasn't feeling very inspired when I. >> No, that's one guy. One guy high up, >> right? You're right. Which depend based. on who you told me it is. I'm very.

confused. >> Yeah. It's it's actually you're actually. dead on because my team was pissed, right? I wasn't even in the conversation. at this time. So. >> And you shouldn't have to be. >> Yeah. Exactly. mad and they said, "Is this coming from. someone or is this something you guys. just came up with?" And then they said, "There was an older gentleman that was. uh in charge." He was the higher up and. it always is. >> Yeah. Um that was with the brand that. sponsored it, >> right? And he was in the audience, which. I knew because there was one old guy. sitting in the center like arms crossed.

the whole time going like just annoyed. Yeah. The whole set. So I knew exactly. who it was. I could see him the whole. night. and they said that he complained. and like since he was uh his brand was. sponsoring the second one, he demanded. that I change my set and make it better. because it was too antagonistic and. [ __ ] up to men, which I was like. >> I want to know what he thought about all. the other comedians, >> right? Cuz another comedian that night. said a slur on stage. So, you know, um I. would say if we were. >> cut to him standing ovation, >> he's like.

>> he's so excited. He's like finally. >> need more of that. Need more of that. Well, and then I was like, the fact that. you would even ask me Yeah. >> is disrespectful. You You guys are. telling me an old white dude came to you. and said, "That loud [ __ ] is [ __ ]. annoying and rude, and I want you to. make her change it, and you're going to. seriously bring it to me and ask me.". >> No, that's absolutely insane. >> Yeah. And then I literally told my my. team, I was like, "I'll make it real. easy. I quit. I'm not doing that next. one. >> I'm out." And then they were like, "Do. you want to like," because then they. said, on top of needing me to change.

everything, they also said they bumped. me two down and uh cut my set down to 10. minutes. And then they were like, "So. there's going to be two more acts after. you, bigger ones, more popular ones, like in the standup world, obviously.". And. >> you're like, "Oh, you're going to do. what I told you to do?". >> And they're like, "Well, I mean, if it's. about the time, like she could have the. full 20." Like I was like, "And so. perform even more for free?". >> Yeah. No, I'm not doing that. I was. like, no, actually, no, I'm not doing. that. And go [ __ ] yourself. And then I. told them, I quit. I'm not doing it.

That's so disrespectful and [ __ ] the. literal thing I'm talking about that I'm. working against. >> Yeah. >> Which is men controlling what we do and. what we say. Isn't that so ironic? And. this and this whole event supposed to be. centered on women, right? Okay. >> So, I was like, I'll make it really. easy. I quit. And so, they were like. scrambling to save me to do it. And I. was like, no, the answer is no, I'm not. doing it. They still had to pay me which. is even funnier. >> Oh, that's great. >> Uh and then at the end too they were. saying um you know like I just really.

don't want like you know we we didn't. want her to like not do it. It was just. like that's just the notes we got and. blah blah blah. I was like no yeah you. guys want to couch out a men you do. that. I'm not [ __ ] doing it. Uh cuz I. don't work for him or you [ __ ]. >> No that's so crazy. >> I was like you guys hired me. >> That's absolutely insane. And I sent. Caleb a voice note the day I found out. and he was like, "A brand or anyone. really higher up at all asking a. comedian to edit their set to be more up. uplifting and empowering is actually.

hilarious.". >> No, it's so crazy. >> He's like, "That's actually a real joke. right there." No, Netflix doesn't even. give me notes on my specials. >> Hello. >> Yeah. No, >> that's crazy. That's so Wow. Interesting. >> And that's not just like a me brag. thing. I think that like I'm saying they. let comedians like do their thing. >> clearly. I've seen terrible ones. I've. seen terrible uh like Yeah. I can think. of one in particular I saw on Netflix. >> Which one? >> That was really bad. >> Oh, okay. I was going to say someone. else. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> I know who you're talking. >> Yeah. >> Are you talking about? >> No. >> No. Were you talking about Well, I'm.

talking about. >> Oh, yes. Yes. Yes. Bad. He's a real. comic all around. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. He's a bad comic generally. speaking. >> But I was I was so put off by that [ __ ]. I was like, "Yeah, I don't know if. that's for me after all." Like, and then. as I like, you know, that was like last. year, I would say last spring. So, like. up until now, I've done a few more live. performances like just with my sister. when we do our podcast live, >> which is great. >> And that's just my vibe. I was like with. the standup [ __ ] I was like, I think. that was another sign this is not for.

me. Like, >> this is not something I'm meant to do. I. will say though, the person they. replaced me with, I love her dearly and. I hope she killed. >> It was. >> Oh, yeah. She definitely kills. >> and she is so funny. So I was like. perfecting you're lucky to have her. >> Yeah. >> Also you're lucky to have her. She's. amazing. >> The way that you talk to your team about. doing standup is like how I talk to my. team about doing a podcast. >> Really? >> Yes. Where I'm like I just I don't know. And they honestly they talk to me the. same way where they're like, "Do you.

really have time to do that?" Well, and. I'm like actually you're right. And I. feel the same way where I'm like I mean. we were talking about it when I came in. I'm like, "Your lighting's incredible. Your setup's incredible. Your clips look. great. Clips are great." And it's like, it would have to be like a whole. production like this for real. >> to feel good about it. But there are. people who do podcasts that are look. like [ __ ] and are not good. And it's. like, well, anyone can do that. It's. like, no, to do it right, it's like a. lot of work in production. And that's. why.

>> And the same thing on on your side with. standup. It's the same thing. And that's. why when when I've told my standup. friends of that story, they've been like. um what you said earlier, which was. like, I'm really glad that you like have. the respect for the craft because it. does feel like a joke sometimes. And. when you were saying that earlier, it's. like it's because people I think it's. like the access to seeing it online all. the time makes people think they can do. it. Like they're like, "Yes, >> oh, if I just had the time, I could be. Taylor Tomlinson. If I just had the. time.". >> I'm not saying that's not true, by the.

way. If you had 16 years, >> you could be Taylor. >> spare. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. That's. >> you had 16 years lying around. >> That's literally what I'm [ __ ]. saying. Well, and it's also like you. could have all the time. That doesn't. mean you can do it. Yes. >> And it's the same thing with podcasting, too. I think podcasting is the new. thing, right? Like standup was that. thing for a long time. And then because. of Tik Tok and everything now, >> I think now podcasts are the new thing. where they're like, >> "All I need is the mic and the time.

That's all I need. >> Which I always tell people when they ask. me about podcasts, I'm always telling. them like, I mean, before you worry. about buying anything, >> set up your phone to look at you and. record yourself talking by yourself for. 40 minutes. >> Hard. Just see if you can do it. >> Yeah. Yeah, like cuz most often times. like even if the show or the podcast is. kind of like this one where it's like um. interview based or it's like guest. driven. >> um even then sometimes you're going to. have guests that don't want to [ __ ]. talk or don't know how to. So you have.

to like fill the space like you have to. be able to fill it and carry it. >> Well, that's why I was so impressed with. you the first time I did your podcast is. I was coming from set. was really tired. and I left and I was like Drew's an. incredible podcaster and interviewer and. carried that [ __ ]. >> cuz I was very sleepy and I hadn't met. you and I was. >> I thought you killed I don't know what. you're talking about. >> No, I was just like I felt like the. whole time I was just asking you. questions like about like not in a funny. way just like how did you meet your. fiance? >> Well, to be fair that was our first time. meeting. >> It was our first time meeting.

>> So that was like to be fair it is kind. of like a first date where like you're. like well what's your favorite color? Like you kind of have to go over the. early steps. That's why sometimes when. people watch my show and they've been. longtime fans of my show, sometimes. they'll say [ __ ] like sometimes Drew. repeats herself. I'm like, "Well, no. [ __ ] [ __ ] I Every time I meet. someone, you try talking by yourself for. 52 weeks a year, girl.". >> Truly. >> And also, I forget. >> Yeah. Who and you probably did, too. And. [ __ ] off. But also, thank you for. listening so intently. Love you. >> But love you and thank you so much for. your support. >> But like Yeah. I mean, all the research.

you have to do as well on people like. it's just Did you see the clip of uh. Charlie XCX on Smartless? No. >> Where I don't remember which guy it was, but one of them was asking her if she. wanted kids and she was like, "I don't. think so." And one of them goes, "Well, when you meet the right person, you. might want kids." And she goes, "Well, I'm married.". >> She's married. She's like, "I'm married, so hopefully.". >> 20 seconds of silence. Just.

>> Oh, like don't know that Charlie XCX is. married. Like, >> girl, >> crazy. >> I know. Especially since her wedding was. like all over the [ __ ] place. Like, everybody was seeing pictures of it, even from afar. >> Dumis was on the phone constantly that. day. They were [ __ ] posting thousands. of pictures of her wedding. And it does. make you feel better like doing press. because sometimes you do press and you. can tell people do not care, don't know. who you are, what you've done, right?

>> Couldn't care less. It's and whatever. It's another day at work for them and I. get it. But when you see that happen. even to like one of the biggest stars in. the whole world, you're like, "Okay, so. it happens to everyone.". >> Okay. So, everyone Okay. All right. Got. it. >> Perfect. That does make Yeah, a little. bit. That does make me feel a little. better. Yeah, >> that is cuz I that's how I felt about. the the girl saying I was pregnant. >> because um in my book I explicitly talk. about not wanting children and why. >> So I'm like you should read my book. You. should familiarize yourself a little bit. more with me.

>> I will say cuz I like I said I'm writing. my book right now and it's hard and uh I. I the only thing that's helped me get. through it is I go most people aren't. going to read this. It's long. >> Don't say like there, but you know, there's a little bit. It's Hey, it's a. long. >> commitment. It is. >> to read a book. It is. >> And so I go, even if it's bad, most. people aren't going to know it's bad. Like anyone has can watch a stand-up. special for an hour and be like, "This.

sucks.". >> But a whole book, >> right? I mean, so that's really helped. me a lot actually. It's just going, it. can be bad. >> It's okay. >> Don't do that [ __ ] I'm sure it's going. to be wonderful and amazing. >> And writing. How do you find the bookw. writing process? How are you finding it? >> You know what's funny is I actually. really enjoy it. It's nice. >> and that's making me nervous. >> cuz I'm like you might have to get into. it or what? >> No, I just am like you're enjoying it. too much which means this is probably. garbage. >> What are you talking?

>> I look I don't know. I can turn anything. into a negative but like I wanted to be. like a young adult novelist before I did. standup when I was like 14, you know? So, I'm kind of like, "Oh, shit." Like, I I actually do like this. Because I. wasn't ever sure. I got into standup and. I was like, "This is my whole thing. forever." And so, to finally be in a. place where I'm like. >> writing a book and kind of living the. life that my 14-year-old self wanted to. live, right? >> It was nice to be like, "Oh, I wake up.

every day and I have a routine and I. have a word count to hit, right? I. really enjoy. like I feel very fulfilled by the end of. the day after writing alone. >> You're like in my house. >> You're literally in my head, [ __ ]. >> Because when I wrote my book, it was the. same thing. Like I was like, I'm loving. this. Lowkey, I'm loving this. But like. we'll see. >> But that because I um was writing my own. book, I have a photographic memory. >> Not a flex, just a flex. >> That is a flex.

>> Yeah. I was like, I have a photographic. memory, so I can read very fast and I. remember almost everything I read I've. ever read ever. Which is why I'm like. filled with with facts about things that. I shouldn't really know. Like my sister. once was like, "You know so many things, but you never [ __ ] read." And I was. like, "Okay." Like, and she means like. historically accurate thing. I just. remember a lot of things I've ever. whatever. So things imprint in my brain. really. So, when I was writing my own. book, I stopped reading um non-fiction.

Like, I stopped reading any sort of. feminist theory, any sort of like. self-help, empowerment, anything like. that. I stopped reading all of it as I. was writing because I didn't want. anything to like imprint in my brain and. then I write it and then I'm like, >> I came up with that, of course. >> But then really, it's just something I. remembered from somewhere. Even some of. the quotes like like things that I've. said many times in interviews that I. wrote into my book, I literally Googled. them to make sure nobody else said them. because I was like, "Let me just make. sure." Okay, cool. >> I know. I do that with jokes, too. Or. you'll write certain jokes and you're.

like, >> certain persons like I went I've gone to. certain people and been like, did you. write this already? And they're like, no. And I'm like, okay, well, it seems. like something you would have talked. about. >> Exactly. scary. >> I was a little worried and I before I. wrote I wrote my own book, I like had. read a lot of self-help empowerment. stuff. So, I was like just in case I'm. going to cut myself off, no reading. So, I didn't read anything like that. So, I. I read fiction instead. >> Uhhuh. >> Which I loved because I haven't read. fiction since I was like a teenager in.

high school. So, I was like, "Oh my god, I should read more fiction books." So, I. started reading more fiction. That's how. I get got into like romanty books. >> That's when you started reading Acatar. >> Yes. because that was me like venturing. into that world of adult fiction. And. then I was like after I finished my book. and it went well, thank God for you. Um, then I told my publisher when they're. like, "Let's do another book." And I was. like, "I'm only 30, so I have no more. advice to give. I got nothing else on. me, bitch." Like, and I told them, "What. do you guys think about fiction because.

I've read so many, so that's my next. book.". >> I [ __ ] love that. Well, and that's. kind of how I feel exactly about this. I'm like, I know everyone just wants me. to write the comedian memoir essays book. and I can do that and I will. >> and then I want to write. >> the young adult fantasy novel. >> Let's do it. >> And it's like once they know I can. finish a book, >> maybe they'll be more open to other. ideas. Is that what you found? Or once. you wrote a bestseller, they were like, >> "Yes.". >> I was like, and I didn't even know.

really at the time that I wanted, like. you were saying, I like am enjoying. myself, but I didn't know like that's. what I really wanted to write until I. started writing. So then once I wrote my. first one like cuz my first book. obviously it's about me. >> which like yeah it was awesome. This one. I'm like having a blast. >> That's every meeting I get on I'm like. oh my god I love this project. >> Did you when they were like you have to. be on the cover of your book. Were you. like. >> Yeah. Yeah. Cuz I was Is that how you. feel too? >> Yeah. Yeah. I said to my editor I was. like well I don't she goes you should.

start thinking about the cover. And I. said well yeah I have some I go but it. doesn't have to be me right. And she. goes are you kidding me? That's. literally what I said. I said, "It. doesn't have to be a picture of me, right?" And they were like, "No, are you. dumb?". >> Yeah. They were like, "You're an idiot.". Respectfully, girl thought I was. kidding. I was like, "No, I thought it. was actually pretty cool and humble." I. thought you'd be like I thought you'd be. like, "Thank you so much." You know, most people insist on being on the cover. of. >> You know what? You're not like other. authors. >> Yeah, that's what. I was being a pickme. I did the same thing. I said the same.

[ __ ] and I was like, I just feel like. it's corny. I feel like it's super. corny. I know. I felt like and then like. they one of the things we made peace. with was me covering my face. That was. one of them because they will tell you. this. It sells books when you're on the. cover cuz most people can't even read. There's a media literacy crisis going on. right now. So people who don't know her. >> and the people who don't even. necessarily know your name will be like. I've seen them. >> Exactly. >> And it's enough to make them just pick. it up. >> Exactly. Yeah. >> So, like I I literally shot test covers. like with my hair makeup artist cuz the.

one that's actually on the cover of my. book, I shot in my house in my kitchen. >> Really? >> Yeah. My my cousin who does my hair and. makeup, he took the pictures of me like. glammed me and then took the pictures of. me. >> So, like we shot those pictures, but we. did test ones before cuz I was trying to. do just my middle finger or something. like that. I was trying to meet in the. middle and I did mockups like. >> like once they see this. >> Oh, girl. Canva Pro. I was like once I. get Canva Pro involved. Don't even get. me started. Brin knows. I have been on. camera pro like crazy for the special.

for the book. I'm like, I just threw. this together. Is this anything? How. about this? How about this direction? And they're like, we're going to get. some professional. >> When I'm like I'm like when I'm like. pitching it to them and then they're not. listening. They're like I'm like, "Let. me get on Canva. I'm going to make. something on Canva. >> I'm going to make something on Canva. >> and I'm going to text it to you and you. tell me." I looked at one of the. earliest uh like mock-ups I did for the. special and I was like I was so proud of. this. Looked at it. Literally the. Disneyland font. Literally the.

Disneyland font. >> No one's ever used this. >> Yeah. I'm like why is this so good? It. was called like pirate something and I'm. such a [ __ ] basic ass bisexual. I'm. like the pirate one. >> The pirate one is good. Done. No, for. real. I I did the same thing. I I did. the mockup and everything and they were. like. >> they did they do the thing where they go. it's helpful to know what you like. >> Yeah. They're like this is good like. this is good for us. >> It's helpful to know what you gravitate. towards. >> Yeah. So we know where where to go. >> Thank you so much. >> Yeah. Thank you for your I appreciate.

your contributions. And I was like. perfect. >> You're like so we'll just I feel like. it's done. You were like so print it. And I was like let's get to print. I. know. I told them the same thing about. like because of me on the cover. I was. also cringing about that too. >> and I was like I just don't want to be. like on the cover. >> Of course. Yeah. You don't want one of. these. >> Yeah. Exactly. I was like and I don't. want one where I look like pensive like. you know the with authors they always do. this one like head in the hand like. >> Well, you know they would have had you. do like hands on the hips wide stance.

for real where they're like Yeah. EXACTLY. OH MY GOD. I HATE IT WHEN. YOU'RE IN A PHOTO SHOOT AND THEY GO do. like confident what like like I'm exact. like I'm the boss like I'm you know like. and it's always a male photographer and. I'm in charge and like maybe do to the. side a little bit and then put your. hands on your hips kind of like attitude. >> give me let's do an attitude one. >> right when they and they'd tell me to. cross my arms I was like that's why like.

my author photo is like my full face and. my arms crossed to the side like they. wanted but also head on. You're a. bouncer. >> No, literally. And when I did this, >> inside you're kind of like a smart girl. >> I might solve a crime later. Like, you. never know. >> You never know. >> Well, and even when I took it, we were. laughing cuz it looks like Adriiana's. insurance. Have you seen those. billboards all around LA? That's. literally what I look like in it. Adriana's insurance. I'm like, >> and then I was like, "Yes, he put that. on the inside cover, [ __ ] so nobody. has to look at it. It's [ __ ]. humiliating. Every time you see it, I'm. like, and literally, we joke about it.

all the time. They're like, I look like. I'm going to fight for you." That's what. my like my author photos look like. And. it's so tough, too, cuz you're like, I'm. on the cover already. Do I need an. author photo, too? Yeah, that's what I. told them. I was like, well, if I'm on. the cover, they don't need an author. photo. I'm like, they're like, well, you're you're covering your face. Everyone's going to be like, where's her. mouth? Well, I'm like, what am I, dead. mouth? Like, what the [ __ ] Nobody. thinks I'm Marshmallow. Like, it's fine. You can tell it's me and my name is on. there. What the [ __ ] Like, nobody looks. like me. It's okay. So, we met in. somewhat in the middle. >> Yeah. But I get you. It's big cringe.

Big cringe. >> It looks great, though. Yours isn't. cringey. That's why I was like, >> thank you. It worked out. Adriiana's. insurance on the inside cover, but. that's okay. >> Yeah, >> I'm will. I was willing. I made peace. with it. Not a big deal. But I'm excited. for your book. >> We'll see. >> And for you to eventually start writing. a young adult fiction. >> I want to so bad. >> It's so fun. >> It's Oh my god, it's a blast. >> Well, and you just you get to go to like. the fun part of your brain as opposed to. the part of your brain that houses all. of your childhood trauma. >> That's where I've been. I've just been. in like the deep suppressed parts of me.

crying every day reading my journals. from like seventh grade. Like, how did I. feel about my body? Oh, bad. That's. right. It's like the worst process. Just. wanted to check in real quick. >> Check in real quick. I'm like, let me. write about a fictional 19-year-old in a. world with no phones whose whose parents. are dead and she finds a [ __ ] portal. in a tree. YEAH, LIKE LET ME take a. break from the selfanalysis. That's so. tea cuz my my family too. >> hasn't read my book.

>> Um like my mom and sister haven't read. my book. Like other people in my family. >> says really nice stuff about you guys. >> Thank what I said. >> It's very flattering. >> But the reason why is because it's like. u really emotional. Like there are two. parts like one of them is like what I. told you when I found out I didn't want. to have kids. I talk about having a. pregnancy scare. That was one one of the. most traumatic things to ever [ __ ]. happen to me. So yeah, writing about. that was terrible. Yeah. >> And then also when my sister came out to. me, that story is also very hard. >> So it was like, like you said, revisiting and reopening these wounds to.

write something in a way that's not like. >> too much information where it's kind of. freaky a little bit, like it scares you. away a little, but also enough to get. you to want to like commit to the book. and read the rest of it. >> Oh, it's it's been really hard to decide. like what's too much, what's too far, right? I agree. What's like my real. feelings but not all of them. >> Yes. Exactly. >> You just want to do just enough of the. truth but you can't like give. everything. >> Yeah. Exactly. Cuz we already give so.

much of ourselves. >> Oh my god. >> Which is why I struggled to write that. book. That's why the fiction book. doesn't feel like that at all because I. was like I hate the parts about me that. I have to share because I already share. so much and I already have a problem. with people overstepping with me. Yeah. And getting two in my life. So that's. why I've said no to like reality TV, like reality show about my family. Like. I've gotten those many times, which I. always say I'm like I really think you. guys will be bored. Like my family's not. that crazy. Yeah. >> Like my family's like loud and annoying,

but I think a lot of families are like. generally speaking. But like my everyday. life is very boring. So that's why I'm. like it's not nearly as. >> ooh amazing. >> They'd be creating drama. >> Exactly. I was like, you'd have to. orchestrate it and then that just. invites more people into my world and I. [ __ ] hate that. So that's what I with. the book that is what I felt better. about though cuz like you were saying I. can decide like the amount that's shared. to what degree to what detail and then. after that it felt like.

>> you know smooth sailing once I got past. that first like initial writing of it. and putting it through. >> then I felt better but the fiction book. >> is like imagining it's like uh just like. what you would love like cuz I've read. so many fiction books like. >> hey y'all guess What? Your favorite. friend group is back. FX's adults. follows five roommates living in New. York leaning on each other to navigate. love, work, friendship, and family while. tackling pressing questions of your 20s.

Like, what if the person who inherited. your fake ID is cooler than you ever. were? Ever heard of it? Why does being. around your family make you regress into. your worst self? Uh, hate when that. happens. And how do you tell your. roommates that you have other friends? FX's adults. All episodes now streaming. on Hulu. Have you read? Do you do you. like reading them? >> Yeah, the romantic ones. Do you have any. faves? >> Yeah. >> Um, what did I just. Well, I did read all of the I read all.

the fairy ones. >> The Acitar ones? >> Yeah. Yeah, I did read all of those. >> I read those ones, too. >> Um, I couldn't get into but then I. couldn't get into Fourth Wing. Is that. romantic, though? >> Yeah, it is. That's the one with the. dragons. >> Okay. I just read one that's I don't. think. I think it's technically young adult cuz. there's not like a bunch of like smut in. it or anything, but it was really good. I think it's called The Ember in the. Ashes. >> Have you read that one? It's really. good. Okay. >> And I read the first one cuz my writing. partner got it for me and then I was.

like, "Oh my god, there's like. >> I think there's two or three more of. them." And so I like went to the. bookstore to get the rest of them and I. go to the fantasy section and I can't. find them and I'm like, "Oh, these are. for kids." And so I had to go I had to. go to the routine section and I was like. it's fine. It's whatever. >> It's the part where the Winnie the Pooh. corner like you're like. >> it's right before that. It's right. before that. And I just got the box set. and I was like these are coming home. with me. And then the one I'm reading. right now um which is like lesbian. vampires is the I always get the title.

wrong. It's the VE Schwab one. Um Bury. Bury my bones in the soil at midnight. Is that right? We always get. >> Holy [ __ ] That's the whole title. >> It's Well, someone Google it. Someone. look it up cuz I want TO GET IT RIGHT. >> THE WRONG THING. YEAH. BREN and I was. like, "Are you still reading bury bury. the soil at the midnight bones? >> Are you Are you also reading the and. bury me slowly quietly at night? Where. are you? What are you doing?" We always. get bury. >> Yeah.

>> Bury in the midnight. >> Oh my god. I did not get it right. Bury. our bones in the midnight soil. That's. the whole title by V. E. Schwab. Yes. Great. Okay. Thank god. Lesbian. vampires. >> And it's good. >> And this thing. >> Yeah. Look, my sister's literally. downloading. >> downloading. It's really good. It's. really good. I know. She hasn't gone. She loves reading fiction and lesbian. ones, but she doesn't like romanty cuz. there isn't a lot of lesbian ones that. she's been able to find. >> that one. >> cuz the straight ones she can't get.

into. >> Awesome. It's also like jumping between. times. >> between like two characters so far. Oh, I love that. >> Yeah, it's really good. >> Oh my god. I've read quite a few good. ones that I. >> Yeah. What have you read that's good? >> I've. >> Cuz Acatar I was like, I'll probably. never read this again. >> No, never. I I'm never going to read. that one again. It was fun though. It. was a good like there were certain books. though in that series where I was like. like the fourth one and Acatar I was. like hey kill this thing. What what the. [ __ ] is the point? Like. >> I don't even remember which one was the. fourth one. >> It was the orange one. I know the colors.

of the book. >> The orange one's the last one. It's the. one right. >> No, that's five. Is the fourth one the. tiny one? >> Tiny. There's like a Christmas book. >> Yes, Christmas book. Yeah, the Christmas. special. That's what they call it. >> Yeah, because the [ __ ] is shopping for. presents. The whole goddamn book. Oh my. god. Kill me. >> Well, there are. >> GET BACK TO THE WAR, HO. What the [ __ ]. We have a war on our hands. >> Is going DOWN RIGHT NOW. >> OH MY GOD. I'M SICK. >> That's the thing. That's the thing about. the war in those books. They're kind of. like Hollywood over the holidays. They. just shut down. They're like, "No one's. no one's going to war. Check in with me.

in January." Right. Second week of. January. I mean, there are books where. like the whole point is just like Brin's. told me about these books. Binn, I'm. going to keep referring to my sibling. I'm sorry. This is good. Brin's here. But they have books that are apparently. just like about bakeries and the whole. book is like describing things in the. bakery. What the hell? >> Interested when I told. >> I wasn't interested when I told you. >> I like it as a concept. I'm not going to. read about You were like, "They describe. cinnamon rolls, but they don't call it a. cinnamon roll.".

>> What on earth is that? >> It sounds relaxing. Did you listen to. it? >> I listened to. >> Yeah, it sounds very relaxing. >> Oh, that was nice. Yeah. And I mean in. the audio, sure. >> Yeah, in the audio. Sure. >> Yeah. When I I do find it strange when. people listen to Smutty Books via audio. Do you do that? >> No. >> It's a little bitive for me. But I do. listen to audio porn cuz like don't. let's not pretend. >> I know. I'm like I can't do a book, but. pornography I will. That's actually. that's the only porn I can handle is. audio porn. Really? >> Yeah. Because I feel like I'm sort of.

like u you know I'm like well you're. working on your imagination. >> I was gonna say I was like when are YOU. EXERCISING THAT MUSCLE? >> YEAH. You're like it's about creativity. for me. >> I gotta get I gotta get creative. >> Yeah. No, it's not I'm not even horny. I'm just inspired. >> as a writer. That's how I came up with. the title of my special. >> Yeah. There you go. >> That's actually So I Yeah, you're you're. weirdo for that. But that is too I DO. GET IT. >> NO, IT IS WEIRD. YOU ARE WEIRD. But that. is cool. >> But I didn't watch any porn before that. So I'm to me That's true. You had to. make.

>> again to go from porn is evil. You're. going to hell if you even think about it. to now I listen to audio porn. That's. growth. >> I really That is true. You're right. That is growth. I do think that is a. little bit more of a commitment than. watching it physically. >> Probably. >> because listening feels a little more. like sensual like they're like. whispering in your ear. Like do you [ __ ]. with like Quinn or anything like that? Like audio erotica. >> Uhhuh. >> T. >> Yeah. You're not not into that. >> I mean it's the same thing as reading. is a romantic. Yeah. >> Honestly, if you think about it, it's.

the same thing as reading. You're just. >> brag about reading books, >> right? >> And you can't brag about this. >> They look down. Oh, they look down on. air porn. Yeah, >> they shouldn't. It's all the same. >> Let's have some open minds, please. But. you can say it about Although sometimes. you say that you read a certain book and. people are like, "Isn't that just all. sex in that book? Isn't that just like. >> Yeah, like the Fifty Shades of Gray. books.". >> Oh, yeah. Well, that is really just. >> that is. And I've read those books. I. read them in college. They're terrible. Yeah, >> they're really really bad. Like they're. bad. They're poorly written.

>> and poorly structured. Like the the the. >> I remember explaining Carrie like is one. of my best friends. She's here. She's my. assistant. I forget she reads a lot of. the same books I do. >> Yeah. >> Um so she's the only one in my friend. group that can pace with me. Everybody. else reads too slow. >> So she she reads alongside me and I was. telling her I was like, "Have you ever. read the Fifty Shades of Gray books?". And she was like, "No, I've never read. those." Which I was like, "Don't. They're terrible." But I told her the. whole plot. It's insane. Like when you. say what in the last book, you're like, "What the fuck?" It just felt like.

what's another horrible thing I could. just throw in here. >> Oh my god. >> Like she has like And also I hate like. when you talk about tropes in like. fiction books. >> The one if I could kill a trope with my. bare hands, it would be a pregnancy one. >> Oh, she gets pregnant. >> Yeah. She ends up getting pregnant. >> and what's funny is like the dude in the. book, >> Has she been through enough, >> right? She's already dealing with BDSM. Now on top of that, now she has life. inside growing inside her. And it's. because she wasn't getting her shots, which is, you know, I would say a poster.

for contraception. Yeah. Make sure you. check in. >> But she like gets pregnant and then like. is kind of worried and then is like. >> actually I think I'm really excited. about this. Which makes sense cuz she's. 22. >> And then 22 the whole time. >> Yeah. Like she's like. >> in all the books she's 22. >> Yeah. And I think he's like I hate that. 30. I think he's like 30ish and she's. like 22. >> I can't read books about 22 year olds. anymore. I can't read books about. college. I'm over. Unless there are. dragons, then you can be like 20. >> Right. Exactly. >> Of course. That's why that's why I think. I like the romanty ones because every.

time I read the other ones or try to, they're like, "And I just graduated from. high school.". >> Yeah. >> Close the book. I'm not reading that. [ __ ]. >> I'm not reading that [ __ ] I'm not. reading about children. I even in, and. this is like kind of funny, but when I. sold my fiction book, one of the. meetings I had with with a potential. publisher, this is not my publisher, they asked me in earnest, they were. like, are you interested in making the. character 23 because she's 30 in my. books. And then I literally. >> And you're like, "Fuck you. It's me.". >> Yeah. >> I'm the I'm the main character.

>> I literally said that. I was like I told. her in the meeting, I go, "No.". >> Yeah. And she goes, "No." I go, "No, not. even a little. Um, she's gonna be 30 and. everybody else is gonna be 30. And also, it's okay because she's a fairy. So, she's actually immortal. It actually. doesn't matter. Time is actually a. construct to her if we're being honest. >> There's no there's no romanty books. where they're 30. I'm so excited. You. are filling a hole in the market. >> I'm telling you, >> I'm so excited. Do you read normal. fantasy or normal romance books as well? >> I can't do that. >> I'm trying. No, I haven't. >> It's hard. >> They're all fantasy ones. I've never.

read the like I know there's. >> like Emily Henry. >> No. Yeah. the people we meet on. vacation. They made that on Netflix. That's also an Emily Henry book, I. think. >> Yeah, I think so. >> I watched the movie. I was kind of like. the movie was cute. It was fun, but I. was really I hate a a trope when one. person like someone is stringing along. someone else for a long period of time. >> I'm just I always have a hard time with. just be together, >> right? >> Is most romance movies, books, whatever. Now, I'm like just be together. Who. cares? That's why I like Bridgetton.

because it's like I understand why you. can't. I understand why you can't. There's. >> there's outside pieces in place. I know. I've heard I haven't gotten into. Bridgetgerton. I tried I tried the first. season. >> three times and I just like couldn't get. >> just go to the next one. >> That's what everybody tells me. Everyone's like, "Man, [ __ ] that one. Just or watch Queen Charlotte.". >> Oh, yeah. Queen's only if I don't watch. season is that the one with Jonathan. Bailey? Yeah. >> Season two. Yeah. They said if not that. one, then watch Queen Charlotte because. that's the good one. That's with King. George, right? >> Yeah, that one's really good. >> I do remember that one. I've I watched I.

think the first few episodes on Tik Tok. You know, you can watch them in like 72. parts. >> Do you know what I just saw on TikTok in. like 72 parts? I didn't watch the whole. thing, but I saw that it was in 72. parts. High School Musical. And I think. Disney put it out. It wasn't like it. wasn't just someone going, "Let's share. my favorite movie from childhood." It. was like Disney official. >> and there part one. >> Yes. >> That's crazy. >> Yeah. And also I was never the same when. High School Musical came out. I loved. that movie. was so. >> like you wouldn't believe it. >> It changed everything.

>> It did. I It shifted my paradigm. I. loved that [ __ ] movie. >> And then did you like Glee? >> I loved Glee. >> cuz Glee wasn't that far behind. >> My sister and I were big Gleeeks. Like. in. >> We forget We forget about Glee. >> That's true. We We're losing the ancient. texts. >> Yeah. This is actually perfect, too, cuz. I was recently telling my friend group. I like text them in our group chat. I. was like, "Guys, I think it's time we. pick a show to all watch together, but. it has to be an older one." like one. that's not but it has to be finished and. a little bit older but not too old. So.

like. >> so Glee. >> Yeah, I suggested I said here are my. thought starters. Let us know what you. think. I was like Teen Wolf Vampire. Diaries Glee. >> Vampire Diaries really holds up. >> I said that too, Taylor. Really holds. up. >> My friends are haters. None of them want. to watch it with me. I was like I'm. telling it's so good. >> They are missing out. I had I had Bin. watch some of it and Bin was like confus. and I said this is how I felt when I. watched it cuz I didn't watch it when I. was younger. I watched it as an adult. Me too. >> And I was like why is this so good?

>> Why is this so good? It didn't need to. be this good. If you muscle through the. like the diary part Yeah. the first half. of season 1 if you muscle through and. you get to like two to four. >> perfect television. >> Prime television prime. It was so I was. gagged every week watching. >> and the needle drops on the show really. just takes you back to that time. >> It's like it's so nostalgic if you're a. millennial like it's so good. >> and the the acting is good. >> Like even the lines that are bad we were.

like that's a great read. >> That's a great read. They're so get that. girl in my office. >> If I had read it in a script I would. have been like this is going to be dog. [ __ ] and they kill it. >> I know. It's so good. And I literally. have told them I was like, "We have to. watch Vampire Diaries. It's so good." I. was watching it religiously when I was. in college, like when it was still. going. And I remember when I stopped. watching. >> Was it when they went to college? >> No, it was when um Steph Not even then. I could have I could have cut out then. cuz then it started getting crazy and I.

was like, "This is ridiculous." And. that's when I stopped. >> towards Me too. Like I was like, "I'm. over it." It was when Stephan and Elena. >> officially decided that they were never. going to be together ever again. It was. literally I'm not kidding. There was. probably about 10 minutes left in the. episode, but there's a part where. they're sitting across from each other. and then he goes, she goes, "Friends. Forever." And then he goes, "Yeah, close. my laptop." I never watched it again. I. was like, "Fuck this show.". >> Do you know what happens after that? You. know, spoilers. I know like a couple. >> I know. I know like the majority of it, but again, like I said, it gets insane.

And then Stephan and Caroline end up. together. >> What? >> Yeah. They end up together. They end up. having children. He ends up dying. Goes. into the afterlife. Then Damon ends up. switching places with him. Bonnie starts. dating another guy who also. >> Bonnie and Stefan dated. >> Yeah. Yeah, they date for a little too. But no, >> everyone dates. It's just that's what. happened with Glee, too, is they just. started going, "What about these two. people? What if they hooked up for an. episode and a half. >> like let's just throw darts at a wall. and let's see.".

>> Truly though, that is how it felt. >> It just felt like they were hopping. online going what does Tumblr want to. see? >> Let's do that. >> And they're not going to the right. sources. They're not cuz I and I I. literally every time I pick up a like. I'm like this is my guy. Like if there's. like a love triangle of sorts. Yeah. >> Which is what I'm like writing into my. book because I think love triangles are. fun. >> They're the best. >> if they sustain like I rewatched the. Twilight movies. >> They're bad obviously. >> But they're so perfect. >> The first one's kind of good, >> right? But they're so perfect though. Like they're bad but they're perfect. And like I rewatched Eclipse last year.

But the scene when they're in the tent. and like he's lowkey cucking Edward like. Edward's in the cuck chair and he's in. the in the sleeping bag with her. >> That was crazy. >> I watched that whole scene. I was like, "God, this is so good. OH, I LOVE IT. OH. MY GOD, IT'S SO GOOD." LIKE, it's it's. so good. >> It's so crazy. >> It's terrible. >> We We watched Heated Rivalry also. Have. you seen Heated Ralph? >> I haven't watched it yet. >> You haven't watched it yet? >> I am very familiar though. >> Okay. I mean, of course, >> I know like pretty much everything that. happens. >> You're busy. What's going on? >> I don't I'm sorry. You don't want to be.

part of the world. I I literally told. someone this. Yeah, cuz I watched this. other show on Netflix called um what is. Finding Her Edge. Ever heard of it? >> You watched that before Heated Rival? >> THAT'S WHAT EVERYBODY TOLD ME. EVERYBODY. was like, "Why would you watch that. before Heated Rivalry?". >> I haven't seen it. I don't know if it's. good or not. I'm not commenting. >> It's not. And I know it's doesn't. compare to Heated Revival. I know it's. bad compared to Heated Rival. >> Are you scared to watch Heated Rivalry. now because of all the hype? >> No, it's more so like this is what I. explained. I literally explained this. last night, too, cuz a lot of people. were like, "What the [ __ ] You watched. this [ __ ] before?". >> And I said, "Here's why. It's like a.

perfect scrolling show. I can still rot. my brain and watch and not. >> heated rivalry is not a second. >> No. And I was like, when I have things. that I love dearly like that, I need to. clear my calendar. >> Oh yeah. >> I don't have time. I have to board up. the windows. Like I have to make sure I. have bottled water in my house. I have. too many things. I was like, I I have to. be in the right space. >> Okay, good. I'm. >> in order to unlock it. >> That's a good excuse for not watching. >> That's why I'm like, you got to give me. time. I will make my way back to it. Someone said, "You're so me because uh.

that's why I feel so nervous when people. are so excited about something that I. have to watch when the glitter fades.". >> That's okay. Okay. Look, I watched it I. watched it like on Christmas and that. was late. Like I watched it when like. everything had come out and I was. nervous. I was like there's no way this. is going to be as good as everyone's. saying. And then it was even better than. everyone. >> It was so good. And now I've seen a. bunch of but I had I made one of my best. friends watch Heated Rivalry and she was. like, "Oh my god, this is so good.".

She's like texting me throughout and we. were like, "When was the last time we. felt like this?" And we realized it was. when Kurt and Blaine kissed. >> Yep. >> That's when it Do you remember? He sang. Black and then they kissed. I can still. remember. >> where I was. That was everything. Okay. Darren Chris on Glee when he was still a. warbler. That was a problem for me. >> Oh, you want to hear something so funny? Hold on. I'll literally show you right. now because on my Spotify, I literally.

looked up I'm not going to teach your. boyfriend how to dance with you. Darren. Chris's version. >> The only version that matters. >> The only version that should exist. >> And we were on my sister and I were on a. Glee podcast with Jenna Ushkowitz. >> Oh, right. They do like a rewatch one. >> Yeah. What's his and Kevin McCale? were. on their podcast cuz we were big Glee. fans and we talked about like that was. one of our favorite covers from the show. was I'm not going to teach your wife how. to dance with you and then they were. both like that is so funny you say that. because that is a lot of people's. favorite cover and I don't know why that.

one and I was like you know why for me. my theory other than the fact that it. bangs other than that my theory is. because that was the first time I was. when I was a huge glee and I watched. Darren Chris and I said hold on now why. he a little. it took you that a little bit like hold. on like I was like he's why is he fine. low key like when I was. >> we didn't feel like that during teenage. dream I felt like because it felt like I. was like oh so cute like that's so sweet. and then with that it felt like.

>> h interesting I was like I feel like a. woman watching this. >> I feel like a woman. >> I was like he's a gay man by the way. playing a gay man and he was nothing but. gay man not in real life. >> not in real life. >> but in the show he is. >> Yeah. Yeah. In the show he is. What if I. didn't know. >> his what. >> are what what. >> what. >> no they were like an OTP for sure. >> Yeah, >> they were like. >> it was important man. >> It was really important. >> and I loved like Santana was like one of. our favorite characters. >> Santana and Britney.

>> Yes. >> Everything about their whole. relationship. >> I rewatched Glee I think like during the. pandemic. I rewatched it. I showed it to. my man cuz he had never watched it and I. actually had never seen the very last. season. I still haven't. >> It's honestly good. >> Really? >> They did a great job. Like it was a. little annoying in certain parts, but. for the most part, I was like, I feel. like they ended it well. >> Oh, wow. >> They did a good job with as long as that. show was on the [ __ ] air. >> It was on for a long time. >> And but it was like it watching Santana, I was like a beautiful, mean, hilarious.

[ __ ]. >> Yeah. >> It's nice to see myself represented on. TV. I'll be honest. It's nice to see. myself represented. >> Her version of Valerie. >> Oh my god. her version of all like even. the mine by Taylor Swift when she when. she's breaking up with Britney. >> I mean. >> and the writing on that show was very. funny. >> Yeah, >> there were a lot of a lot of really good. jokes on that show. >> Yeah. This is now a ugly rewatch podcast. >> now. I was like now next what we missed. on Glee. >> But we're not watching the episodes. We're just going to remember random. moments that resonated with us and go.

and do you remember that one part? We're. going to jump around a lot. I remember. when I watched them do the mashup of. Let's Have a Kiki and Turkey lurking. time. >> They started doing mashups. Oh, they didn't have to do that. >> The Let's Have a Kiki. >> above and beyond. >> Yeah, they had the most famous people in. the world going on that show too. That. in Let's Have a Kiki. That was like. Sarah Jessica Parker opens up the number. >> and I I listened to that till my ears. bled. I was like, "This is the greatest. mashup I've ever heard.".

>> It's genuinely so good. >> Oh my god. >> Well, we're so alike. You and me, we're. so like which speaking of, now we're. going to move on to your fun facts. I. don't think we did fun facts last time. >> We didn't do fun facts last time. This. is a new. >> segment, right? >> Yeah, we got real bored with the TikTok, so I was like, let's do fun facts. >> And now Amanda's my scared. >> in-house nardwire. >> I'm so scared about my fun facts and. what they could. >> So, this first one, I mean, you did talk. about this the first time you're here, but your comedy career started when you. were 16 and your dad signed both of them.

up for a stand-up class in a church. basement. Yeah, it wasn't in a basement. I don't know why. Like, we live in. Southern California. There's no. basements here. But. >> unless something bad's happening. >> It just sounded good, I guess, to. someone a long time ago and they wrote. basement. It's not important enough for. me to ever correct anybody, but I. respect you. So, it was just a room. It. was sort of like a It was probably like. a kids uh you know, classroom. >> or like the nursery at a church. >> Yeah, exactly. >> Yeah, the nursery room. So there's like.

Noah's arc on the wall. >> Yeah. Something like that. >> The big like pictures of the lions. >> Yeah. We were at like desks, I think. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Learning the art of standup. >> Yeah. But that's why like this new. special, Prodigal Daughter, February 24. It's out. It's out. Sorry. Forgetting. Don't need to say the date. Uh but. that's why this new special is like it's. a lot about how I started in churches. And quite frankly, the fact that I'm. sitting on a gold mine. I could totally. turn the ship around anytime I wanted. And the narrative is you got me back,

>> right? >> You got I lost my way for a bit, but. here I am. >> But guess what? The Lord always finds. me. The Lord. >> I walk in the light of the Lord. >> Can we do that? >> Yes. >> A little bit red. >> My ear's red. Probably cuz it's hot. >> Okay. >> But that's it. >> But if you think I should put my hair. over it, I will. >> Is it really red? >> It's a little bit red. >> Okay. Can't wait to see the comments on this. Can't wait to see the comments on this. What's wrong with Taylor's [ __ ] ear?

>> Why is it so. >> Someone will find it. Someone will find. it. >> Like Taylor is allergic to that earcuff. >> Yeah. >> No, you're one of one of my specials. >> That's your sister, right? >> That's my sibling. >> Yeah. Literally just like Yeah. >> My hair my hands in one of my specials. bright red, so dry. It's like the dead. of winter in Boston. It's They look. radioactive. They It looks so bad. And. I'm like, "Is there anything we can do. about that?" And they're like, "Not. really. No. No, your siblings real as. [ __ ] Because my sister, before I walked. to the carpet at the Oscars for the.

first time, I wore a wig and she went, "You wanted it to look like that, right?" And then I went, "Look what?". And she goes, "Never mind." And then I. walked out, "It looks good." And she. goes, "No, it doesn't look it doesn't. look bad. I just was making sure.". Making sure what friends literally said. that exact thing to me, I think, is. like, "Is this what you want? Is this. who you want to be?" Okay. The stillest. face you've ever seen. No expression. >> Making sure you wanted it to look. >> trying to look neutral. Just is that so. this is good for you? Do you feel that's. my like if we're being honest when you.

go do you feel good that hurts my. FEELINGS. >> when you go the place we unpack that. >> dead eyes do you feel good. >> it's genuine I know it is but it the way. I interpret it in my brain is. >> should I not. >> yeah literally. >> look. >> that's so true you're right wisdom. >> literally. >> you are you're wiser than me It's like. very literal and very alike. My like my.

sister my sister literally tells me what. does she say? She goes, >> "No, it doesn't look bad.". >> Does she ever go, "It doesn't look bad. It doesn't look like you.". >> No. Yeah. Yeah. Or she'll be like, "I. mean like I just I don't know if you. wanted it to look that way." Yes. That's. what she'll say to me. And I go, "Look. like what way?". >> Yeah. >> And she goes, "Nothing. >> Is this what you're going for?". >> Yeah. >> And you're like, "I thought it was.". >> And then she'll just go again. It. doesn't look bad. But it's something in. the eyes of I'm like, "What do you. >> So it doesn't look good. It just doesn't. look bad." What do you mean?

>> We're over analyzing. >> We are over analyzing. But I don't think. we're wrong. >> No, not at all. I And I think both of. our siblings are are being real ones and. trying to help us. >> Um, but a little hurting my feelings. >> Yeah. Love that. >> Just a little teeny tiny bit. >> I did want to also say about your Golden. Globes carpet, the fact that you brought. a little case of snacks. >> Oh my god. >> Genius. Thank you. >> So smart. And when you were like, I even. have lactade. I was so impressed. >> Thank you. >> I was so impressed.

>> I have like a little uh pharmacy, like a. little pharmacy. My mom actually made it. for me. Um but in it, like when I do. genuinely just carry lactade because I. am like a lactose person and I will [ __ ]. myself. So like I have to keep it on my. person. >> And you don't want to stop having it, >> right? Exactly. I'm like, well, sometimes I have to enjoy life's little. pleasures and if I don't have lactade, what am I going to do? Yeah. >> Run the risk. Of course not. So when I. opened that, I was like, "This is. literally just mine." Like that I just. have in my bag. And when I uh showed it. to Liza, like on the thing my mom wrote.

in there, cuz my anxiety meds are in. there, too. So one of them says Adavan. and one says beta blockers. >> Oh my god. >> I showed it and she was like, "Oh my. god, can I have some of those, too?" And. we laughed and she goes, "Let me take a. picture. Oh my god, I have to show. some.". >> She's like, "Actually, though, can I. have that?". >> I was like, "I give you one if you. want." Just kidding. I'm kidding. I'm. kidding. globes if you see that. I was. kidding. >> We're kidding. >> It's literally. >> And that's why you hired her because. she's kidding. >> Because I'm kidding. And hilarious. >> Golden globes. Calm down.

>> Calm down. Oh my god. But yeah, the. snacks thing. I used to have a tote bag. and I used to flip it inside out so. there was no branding because I just had. no time to get anything else. And then. everybody made fun of my tote bag. Everybody was like, "Get that ugly ass. bag out of here.". >> No, the case was really good. >> Yeah. And so I was like, I'm thinking of. like a kaboodleoodle of sorts to like. unveil like this. And it worked out. great. It was [ __ ] a Willy Wonka. move. >> Yeah. And then they're like, "Ooh." When. stars see it, they're like, "Ooh, I love. that.". >> All about presentation.

>> It really is. >> I am but a tap dancing monkey on those. carpets. Otherwise, they're going to. shoot me. >> so hard. By the way, I would I would. ship my pants if I had to do that. It. looks so scary. What's worse is like. sometimes I tell people like they don't. I don't always have what they call a. wrangler which are people who can stand. because they make me stand behind. something always whether it's a gate. >> someone to grab the. >> people to wrangle famous people. >> but they don't have to stop if they. don't want to obviously so like a lot of. times I have to lean on being recognized.

by them which does tend to work in my. favor a lot of times like the K-pop. right I have to be I have to be posed. like Adriiana's insurance in order for. them to see. And sometimes I'll be like, "If you just. get them to look at me, like they'll. they'll recognize me.". >> Um cuz even the K-pop Demon Hunter. girls, you're doing your book cover, >> right? For real. The K-pop Demon Hunter. girls like um they were so busy. Obviously, everybody wanted to talk to. them and they were they're so sweet and. they stopped so many times and then I. was at the very end of carpet so they.

were like walking past me and one of. them saw me and she was like, "I love. you." That's the best. >> And I go, "Period." And she goes, "Look, look, look, look. It's Drew from Tik. Tok. And then they were like, "Oh my. god, I love your stuff." I was like, "You guys love me?" And they're like, "Yeah, I'm enough to come over here. Come on over here. >> Prove it. Come here." And then they. always come over. That's nice. Or if. daughters, like sometimes they'll have. wives or daughters that are walking with. their spouses or their parents or. whatever and they're like, "Oh my god, I. [ __ ] love you." I go, "Really? Who's. your dad? Is he famous? Can he come over.

here?" I'll ask. I will. I don't give a. [ __ ] I'll ask every time. But sometimes. like they just walk right by you. It's a. real hit or miss. >> Oh my gosh. >> It just depends. A lot of people. >> Does it bug you or are you just like, "All right.". >> No, I never get offended. Like I've. never I've had very few carpet. interviews where people were rude or. like dismissive, >> but sometimes like the snacks are a huge. pull. So like at SAG last year when I. went to the SAG awards last year, I told. them I have snacks and liquor. Like they. they love the little shooters, right?

>> And I bring those too. So like um Eban. from The Bear, his cousin, >> he hates interviews, hates doing carpet. stuff. So he stopped like once and then. he was walking and one of the people. that was with me, they were like, "She. has snacks and alcohol." And he was. like, "Did you say alcohol?" And she. said, "Yeah." And he walked right to me. And then I was like, "I'll give it to. you after you answer a couple. questions." And then they're always. really cool about it. They're always. very, very nice, but like it's very rare. that they're not fired up about the.

snacks. And a lot of times they're [ __ ]. starving. Like they're like, "Oh my god, I'm so hungry. Can I take a couple?" I'm. like, "Yeah, take whatever you want.". >> And they're like, "They laced up the. corset. I can eat now. >> It's fine.". >> Literally, I was like, "No, go ahead. Suck on it so it lasts longer.". >> Okay, more fun facts about you. Uh, this. one says, "You were once fired from a. comedy gig at a church over a tweet.". >> Yep. >> What was the tweet in question? >> The tweet was, "Uh, I'm like a wild. animal in bed. way more afraid of you.

than you are of me. Ended up on Conan. No regrets. >> That's good joke. Yeah, it's a good. joke. It's a oneliner. It's really good. And they were like, you can't. We have. homeschoolers. >> They said, "Listen here, Jezebel." They. did. >> You're not going to come here and spread. that sin. I'll tell you that. >> Damn. Over a fire tweed. >> Yeah. >> Well, you win some, you lose some. >> You win some, you lose some. And I was. like, that was the moment that I was. like, I never want to feel cuz I'd never. been fired from anything. I was like, I'm a good kid. like I've done. everything right. And so I was like, I'm.

never going to feel this way again. I'm. never doing a church again. And you know. what? That worked out for the best. >> It did. And look, thank God because if I. hadn't made it in the secular world, that would have been tough. I'd still be. on cruise ships right now. >> Yeah. Or or you'd have a private jet and. you'd be the most famous. >> Well, I would have had to go back. I. would have had to go. I would Oh my god, Drew. I'm not even I would have been the. biggest church comedian. >> in the world. >> working. I would have been I was getting.

paid more like you had no business. paying me as much as I was making when I. was like 21. >> and I was the only person that that was. that young doing it. Everyone else is. like a guy in their 40s 50s whatever. with a full family. >> His wife was like well just like. completely completely different and I. was like I. >> if I stay here I'm going to make it. >> and we can't do that. >> No we can't. >> we can't do that. >> Don't make me do that. Yeah, >> you would kill though. It's nice to have. it in your back pocket. >> Of course, >> in case you ever need to pivot.

>> It's my escape plan. It's my retirement. plan. >> Exactly. >> If I get canceled, I know where I'm. going. >> That's That's what's happening. And I. have I have the whole pitch in my head. >> Yeah, you're doing a real Nicki Minaj. pivot. Oh god. >> I have some debts I have to settle. Sorry. I got to be transphobic and I. have to be racist. >> I have to settle. >> Yeah, I got some sharks after me, [ __ ]. I got to do something about it. >> I got to do something about it. I got to. hit a a faright pipeline immediately. >> I don't think I'd be able to do that. I. don't think I'd be able to do like the. the transphobic and all that stuff, but. I think I would I would just have to do.

the thing where like anytime someone's. like and you don't want them to use our. bathrooms, right? I'd be like, I am so. sorry. I have to pee so bad. I will be. right back to finish the meet and greet. I'm going to go just like avoid. >> Yeah, avoid it. >> I'm so sorry. I have diarrhea. I have to. go. But. >> or you can say like, uh, I'm an artist. I don't get political. >> Oh my god, I know. To be honest, just. say that, >> dude. I was like that for years. I was. like, we're all idiots. No one should. think answered like I was like that dumb. for a long time for too long. I was like.

we no one wants to hear what we think. we're stupid and it's like no only. you're stupid other people are reading. >> Yeah. >> What a dumbass thing to say. I'm an. artist. I don't get political mate. on me. >> That is how people say I'm conservative. >> Yeah. >> Publicly. Yeah. >> But unfortunately I think gay people I. need them lowkey to like me online. I do. think that's like one of those when they. say like I don't know just. >> I don't know anything. I can't say. anything. I just don't know. >> I know. You don't know what. Truly me.

when I was younger I'm like I'm too. [ __ ] dumb. I can't do anything. And. everyone's like but you that's your. fault though for being stupid. >> That's fully on you though, >> right? No. Yeah. That's called. ignorance. >> I'm like there's nothing I could. possibly do except maybe read one thing. >> There's nothing I could do. I'm my hands. are tied here. I don't paying attention. I don't have access to the internet. >> So stupid. And you know what I'll say? I've made this joke for a while. Um. because I thought Sydney Sweeney years. ago when her when they found out her.

family was MAGA because they were. wearing MAGA things and her mom's. birthday. >> And weren't they weren't they like it. was a [ __ ]. >> No, she literally responded herself and. said, "Guys, it's my mom's birthday.". >> Which I think. >> I thought she said they were wearing. them as a joke or something. Which I was. like, what? Weird joke to make. It's. not. I was like, that's like. >> in at an Aryan only party. It's a very. weird joke to me. >> What publicist was like, just say it's a. bit. Everyone knows you're hilarious. >> Everyone knows you're a jokester.

>> Just tell them YOU'RE DOING ANOTHER. mega hat bit. >> Yeah, you're silly. >> Everyone loves the MAGA hat. >> And they know you love hats. >> And they know you love hats. >> Everyone's pretending they voted for. Trump. It's hilarious. They know that. But she literally went, "Guys, it's my. mom's birthday." Which has been a. running joke in my repertoire since. before I started doing this. Like, I was. literally like, "Guys, it's my mom's. birthday. >> This is what we do on mom's birthday.". >> Yeah. And like, "What are you doing on.

your mom's birthday?" Someone tells me, "Yeah, they're like, "You're being. offensive. This is offensive. Why would. you do this?" I go, "Guys, it's my mom's. birthday.". >> That's so funny. >> And I said, "She's low-key hilarious for. doing that." Like, that's low-key so. funny. Like, she is not meaning to be. funny at all, but that is hilarious. And. it's it's similar to the people are. going to die. Do you remember that? Like. people and Yeah. I mean I guess people. are going to die like about Coachella. being cancelled. Funny. >> Was that about Coachella? >> Yes, [ __ ]. >> Oh my god. I didn't know. >> that was her on live pissed off. That.

was Vanessa Hudins obviously pissed off. that they canled Coachella. >> I didn't know that was about Coachella. open which is like could you be any more. unplugged? Like that's the funniest. part. >> She's like what do you mean I don't get. to run around in fringe in the desert? the [ __ ] are you talking about? >> You know what's funny, too? I will see. people on Tik Tok like defending it now. They'll go, "She was right." I'm like, "What? >> Are you serious?". >> No. Yeah. Just millions of people had to. die cuz none of you wanted. >> There's kids on TikTok going, "People. did die. >> It was inevitable." And you're like,

"What? Okay, let's just watched High. School Musical in 72 parts on. like I'm a new fan." Like, >> that's exactly what I'm talking about. when I said the media literacy crisis is. in the toilet. A lot of people don't. have it anymore. But I just want to say. I made that joke about guys it's my. mom's birthday. Like I said that I've. said that publicly many times because I. thought it was funny. >> Yeah. >> Because it's ignorant and that is funny. to me. And a lot of people were like, "Oh, that's [ __ ] up to say about her.". Like basically saying like if I'm not. endlessly complimenting women,

>> then that means I must not love all. women, right? Like if I if I think women. do [ __ ] up things for some reason that. means I'm not a real feminist, right? And I and when I was on Trixie Mattel's. YouTube channel, I made a joke to her. that like this is a running bed that I. do on carpets. I've done this many times. even with guests in in on the show where. I've been like, "Well, I mean, we're. about the same size. Where do you shop?". Like, I make that joke intentionally. I've made it to men. I've made it to. women. I've made it to other people, too. Like, it's a funny joke and and. when they laugh like they and they throw. it back to me, it's fun. And I said when.

I meet if I ever meet her because this. is before anything else. I said you bet. your ass I'm going to make that joke. because it's going to offend her. I can. tell. Which ca which then makes me laugh. like it makes me laugh that it would. hurt your feelings to look like me. Low. key that's oh my god. I mean I would I. don't know. I shouldn't say that. I. guess I guess I'm like I honestly don't. even know if she would get it. Not because like I feel like she might. just be like, >> "Well, that's where I'm saying like. literally speaking, she'd be like, "No, we don't look alike and no, we're not.

the same size." Oh my god. Which then. like it jokes like that like force you. to confront your biases in front of me. >> Yeah. You said her career. >> I find that hilarious. When I made that. joke on Trixie's channel, obviously that. made her laugh, but a lot of people in. the comments cuz they clipped it and put. it on YouTube. A lot of people were. like, "That's so like, you know, that's. [ __ ] up." Like, that's really [ __ ]. up. I go, "Why is Because I'm a big. hairy ogre. The [ __ ] [ __ ] you." I was. like, "It's funny. It's a joke and who. cares." And then all this [ __ ] happened. and I said, "So when I make another joke. about, guys, it's my mom's birthday.

You're all going to be cool about it. >> Don't want to [ __ ] hear it. Don't. want to [ __ ] hear it because I made. that joke already." And I have made. little jokes like that to people in the. past that have been kind of rude or. dismissive on carpets. And you're right, they don't get them. They don't get them. at all. Like they have no sense of humor. at all. >> One guy on a carpet doesn't tired and. >> Right. And I made it. He was I asked him. a very simple question. He was giving me. some [ __ ] ass answer. I think he was. trying to be funny or I don't know. But. I asked him a question and he was like, "Oh, like at my like I throw all these.

big parties. I throw these huge parties. at my house." He kept saying that over. and over again. I throw these huge. parties and we make ice cream sandwiches. at my house. And I and he said, "I throw. these huge parties at least three times. in the time I was talking to him." And I. go, "Okay, all these parties and I. haven't been to one. That's [ __ ] up.". And then he goes, "I don't even know. you. I just met you." Like, I'm [ __ ]. stupid. And he says that to me and I go, "And what does that mean? I can't come. to your house. What does that mean?" And.

then he goes, >> "Anyways." And he like finished his. answer. >> Wasn't like trying to do a bit back. No. >> Cuz I think he thought I was being very. literal. So that's why and even some. people in the comments caught it a. little bit in some of my things where. they were like why would he. >> why was he so like offended when she. made that joke and I was like it's tough. when you see like celebrities. trying like they're not making a joke or. even saying anything that makes sense. but they're saying it in the cadence of. a joke and that is really hard to watch.

when they're like well you know and. you're like. yeah well that was Okay. Like you have. the rhythm of a joke, right? You're kind. of smiling. >> Like when kids babble and then you're. like, "Oh, that was so funny.". >> Yes. >> You're just pretending with them. >> Yeah. >> You got to step into the to the. delusion, >> right? >> Step into. >> That's what seems like the hardest part. about doing those carpet interviews is. the the the fake laughing you probably.

have to do. >> Oh, girl. The amount of fake laughing. Also, the way that um right before I. talk to them, especially if they're. really famous, >> Yeah. I'll have someone come to me and. go, "YOU GET ONE. >> ONE QUESTION. THAT'S IT.". >> The celebrity will say that or. publicist. Oh, okay. They'll they'll. yell in my FACE LIKE THAT, ONE, >> OH MY GOD. >> And then they turn around and then their. backs hurt to me and I'm like, >> AND OH MY GOD, HOW ARE YOU FEELING? >> And your first question is, "Can I ask. more questions?" Like with a genie and. it says, "Three wishes.

>> Can I ask you five questions?" And. they're like, "Yes." If I ask you Yeah. And sometimes like I'll say to them like. they said I only got one so I got to be. quick. And then I'll ask them the best. question and then when they giggle. sometimes they'll be like ask me another. one. Ask me another one. So the whole. point is to get them to like me but. sometimes their their teams are yelling. at me and they do this thing too where. like if you're talking for too long. they'll walk up behind you in your frame. and then they'll just hold your back.

like this. >> I don't like that. Or they'll touch your. elbow like this and they're like letting. you know like wrap it up [ __ ] otherwise. I'm taking them. >> Yeah. Like and what's works out. sometimes though is like even like when. I met Timothy Shalamé like his his. publicist loves me. Like she's like on. TikTok. >> That's so cool. >> So she came up and she was like I love. you and I was like you do? She goes. yeah. I go can I talk to him? and she. went, "Yeah, that's and why I also think you're a. great fit for it is like your energy and.

a lot of comedians have this too, which. I think is really good. >> for famous people, >> is. like you're kind of like I don't care. how hot and famous you are.". >> And a lot of people, most people treat. you really well and gently because you. look like this. >> But I don't give a [ __ ]. >> right? And you don't have the things. that I'm looking for. Yeah. >> When I am like intimidated by people, like I want people to be like really. funny and interesting and you don't have.

that. You're just symmetrical. >> And I think that throws famous people. for a loop when you're kind of like, "Hey, how are you?" And they're like, "Why didn't the temperature in the room. change when I walked in?". >> Usually usually I float in and everyone. kind of. >> and you didn't you didn't really snap to. attention there. panties aren't soaked. Yeah, that's interesting. I find that. interesting about you. >> Your boobs didn't perk up. >> And I just Is my manager here? Cuz. >> Yeah, they they You're so right.

Especially with men like men like really. famous men cuz like. >> Yeah. You're like I'm already engaged to. a Hawkeye. I'm fine. >> I'm here for a check and a check only. Yeah. Let's lock in you and I. Yeah. Even when I met Chris Evans, I did a. carpet for A24 and I met Chris Evans and. Dakota Johnson who I loved and she loved. me. But Chris Evans, like when he was. really nice and when we were chatting, he was very like prepared, right? So. he's been answering the same [ __ ]. questions. That's another thing too when. they do press tours, you know this, you. answer the same questions like over and.

over and over again. So they get kind of. bored. >> after a while. And he gave me this like. he was giving me very normal, well. thoughtout answers that you I could tell. he had rehearsed at least once or twice. Like he'd send them already. Yeah. Yeah. >> And then one of them was I asked him. something and then he was like gave me. this really really long poignant answer. And then he was like, "So yeah." And. then at the end I was like looking at. him and I was like, "You [ __ ] nailed. that, dude." And then he's like, "I did, didn't I?" I was like, "Up top, bro.". And then he like he he was like, "Hit me. up top." And then we high five.

>> And then he was like, "I [ __ ] like. you. That was that was nice. That was. fun.". >> Period. >> I mean, it's really treat. Yeah. >> Yeah. It is probably it's either. humbling, uh, hurtful, or really. refreshing. >> Yeah. >> And I think they enjoy it. And you're. right, comics are all like that, which. is why I think I get along with so many. comics. >> Yeah. >> Because you guys are not phased by it. either. >> No. >> Even like I saw I went to one of Quest. Love's game night parties in LA. I saw. there. We both love.

>> Love. >> I saw her there. The way that [ __ ] was. moving around the room like she was. moving and there's so many famous people. at that party. And she came up to me at. one point and we were playing I think. Bananagrams and she was like, "Whatever. you do, do not go to that table over. there." And I was like, "Why?" She goes, "They're playing Scrabble." And I was. like, "Oh, you don't like Scrabble?" She. goes, "Oh my god, no. I felt like they. were holding me hostage." I was like, "I. don't know any more words." Uh, and I. was like, "What did you do?" She goes, "I just stood up. I walked away." I was. like, "I'm not playing anymore. Fill it.

in. I'm not doing it." She's like, "I. flipped the [ __ ] board.". >> Yeah. She was like, "We're all done.". She's like, "I literally told them you. guys are being racist cuz you know. English is not my first language." And. then I stood up and I laughed. I was. like, "Okay.". She didn't give a [ __ ] though. Like. that's why I was like, "Nothing but. famous people at that party." And she. doesn't care. >> So funny. So y'all are real. Yeah. No, we only get nervous around like other. comedians that we think are good. >> And then you see famous people and. you're kind of like, >> you're you're smaller than I thought. >> you would be. They're all so small. >> They're everyone's so little. >> Bitty. It's and you know me [ __ ] I am.

literally Yao Ming in every room. I am. O'Neal. >> Everyone I thought was my size. >> No, >> so little itty bitty teeny tiny. >> When I was doing After Minute and people. would come on, I would go, "Oh my god.". >> Okay. >> I'm going to stand over here. >> Well, and then somewhating over you. >> Oh my god, Drew looks huge next to her. That's what they write on my videos. When I'm standing next to like like. women especially, THEY'RE LIKE, "OH MY. GOD, >> what an inormous.".

>> That's Jesus Christ. I will say I have. like a really big head and it's not and. there's nothing we can do. Yeah. Nothing. you can do about a big head. It's just. kind of is what it is. I'm sure. someone's doing something about it in. LA. I'm sure there's some there's some. young aspiring starlet right now in an. office going, "Can you just shave it. down? >> You got like shrink it. >> just on the back." But I Is there a. waist trainer for your head though? I. like I did the Drew Barrymore show and. they took a picture of us like hugging. Don't look it up. My head is three times.

the size. It looks like even friends of. mine I'm like we can't take another. picture where we're doing this cuz it. looks like someone took my head and went. and then sent it back to me. I thought. someone was pranking me once cuz I was. like what did you facetune this? I look. like I'm going to swallow your head like. a mint. It is so big Pac-Man. >> Well, there's nothing I can do. And. apparently you look better on camera if. you have a big head. Have you have you. heard about that? >> No, but that is good to know. >> Something someone you people used. someone told me that once and I'm going.

to hold on to it. >> and I'm holding on to it for the whole. dear life. I did Drew Barrymore, too, but I did not the real one where you get. to sit on the couch. I did the one where. I was behind the desk. >> But when I did that with her, the. pictures I took with her, >> I look about 9 and 1/2 ft tall. Like. she's about up to my nipples. Like she's. real right here. Yeah. >> And she was all up on me, too. So I look. even bigger, which didn't help. I was. like, "Drew on you like a koala.". >> Yeah. I'm like, "Drew, please, please, Drew, please." They already say I'm. enormous. They already do that. >> She's so sweet. I also like She said the. show I was like, "Oh, you what is it.

like to be this charming?". >> Like, I can't even imagine. >> Andable and likable. Like so much so. that you're like, I can touch anyone, >> right? >> I can hug and I've every time I've gone. in for a hug, I've been like, hope this. is okay. >> I've never had the personality to just. be hugging whoever. No, me either. >> She's so charming and sweet. >> She is. And even after I finished, my. segment with her was really short. So. after I finished with her, she was like, "We should get dinner.". >> And then I go, I mean, I was like,

"Honestly, Drew, very more you tell me. when and I'll be there. I think you're. more busy than me, so you kind of just. let me know.". >> Yeah. >> But like if I said, "You can't take it. back. You already said it to me. So you. >> already said it to me and I'm going to. tell.". >> And she was like, "Oh my god, no. I. would love to. I would love to get. dinner with you." And also like now or. cuz I even made that joke to Dakota. Johnson because she liked my tooth gems. and she kept saying like I love those. Like I want to get them but I can't. because I'm acting. I go well I can't. book anything so that's why I have them. but when I do best believe I'll rip them.

off. And then she was like well I'd love. oh I really want to get some. And I was. like let's go right now. What are you. busy? >> Thank you. Yeah. >> Are you busy? Let's go right now. And. she laughed and she was like oh. >> are you nominated? Let's go. >> if you're not we'll have you back in. time for this thing. Yeah. I was like, "What are you [ __ ] busy promoting. your A24 film?" Okay, whatever. Okay, let me I'm being told to hurry up. Let. me let me push through these. Me calling. out Amanda. Um, okay. This one says, >> "I'm also I feel so boring that my fun. facts are the same. They're like, by the. way, these are the same because you've. done nothing interesting.".

>> No, that's not true. You just. >> in the time you've been gone or you've. just been consistently successful, so. you're not as fun to pull from. So, that's kind of on it. >> Sure. Okay, I'll take that. >> Okay. This one says, "You weren't. allowed to watch Rugrats growing up. because quote, "Angelica was mean to the. babies.". >> Uhhuh. Yeah. Bad example. >> I wasn't allowed to watch anything. I. couldn't watch Rugrats. I couldn't watch. like I couldn't watch Cat Dog. >> Oh. >> Cuz cat was mean to dog or dog was mean. No, cat was mean to dog. >> Oh, >> I thought it was going to be because. they're conjoin conjoined. >> Well, what I was You'd think I'd be.

allowed to watch that in a Christian. household cuz no one has genitals. >> That's a wholesome piece of content. about animals that aren't going to [ __ ]. cuz they can't. They can't literally. >> You're just upset that Cat's like, "You're being stupid." Like any any show. that said stupid, they were like, "You. can't." Like, we'd learn that word from. that show and not from school. >> Yeah. And you're like, "I'm just going. to use that on anyone.". >> Like, I don't know what it was. They. were Yeah. Anything where someone was. like too mean. >> That's so funny. Angelica was mean to. the baby. That's true. >> Yeah. >> But I felt very Angelica adjacent as a.

child, >> right? >> I was more so her than I was any of. those other babies. I'll tell you that. much. Uh, this one says, "In 2014, you. posted this photo with the caption, >> oh no, >> bathroom selfie at my old restaurant job. in my new RECEPTIONIST JOB. BUTTON UP. because never forget where YOU CAME. FROM.". >> [ __ ]. >> That was the whole caption, by the way. >> I literally I'm going to go to I'm going. to spend all night archiving [ __ ] It. says, "Do you remember what those jobs. were?". >> I do remember those jobs. Yeah. >> And here's the pick if you want to see.

>> I Oh, you know what? Not even the one I. was thinking of. I did. I archived. another one. >> Okay. 5 53 likes. >> I missed that one. 53 likes. >> It says # making it # bigtime #. humility. >> Oh, # humility, not # humility. And I'm. bragging about being a receptionist. You're wearing You're wearing Okay. You're bragging about your receptionist. job buttonup. You're wearing it at your. old restaurant job. >> Recept. And you know what's crazy is I.

was doing standup at that time and I'm. still proud. >> to not be wearing. >> I worked at Sue Plantation when I was a. teenager. >> We are a plantation loving house. >> This is a safe space. We were obsess. We. all worked at S Plantation. All my. siblings. >> [ __ ] way. I loved Sup. And it's gone. >> I loved that. And it's gone now. >> It is. They killed it off. He killed it. off. >> And it was, was it only for old people?

Of course it was. >> Um, and us. >> And us. I convinced all my friends to go. there for dinner before homecoming one. year. I was like, why would we go. anywhere else? We can all get up. We're. there in like full just like homecoming. dresses. And I'm like, so does anyone. else want more mac and cheese? I'm going. up there. >> Unlimited salad. >> I'm going up there and they're not. checking to see how many times I've been. up here. No. And those pizzas that they. cut into the little squares. >> I And the brownies. True. The cookies. there in the bag and then when they'd.

have fresh ones and they'd come around. with the basket. >> Oh, [ __ ]. >> Oh my god. >> I took my man there one time right. before they closed them all cuz we. started dating in 2017 and I took him I. think that Christmas. That was like God. >> And he was like, "This is one of the. best restaurants I've ever been to." And. I was like, "So, right.". >> Yes. >> And it's funny because, you know, you. could get as much soup as you want. Like. my sister was a big clam chowder fan. there. you. >> just the way you're talking about and. you know you can get as much soup as you. want. >> You know that.

>> and you know and you know you. >> have you heard the whole it's so it's as. much soup as you as much. >> You know how you go to a lot of. restaurants and they're like you get one. bowl of soup maybe two as much soup as. you want. >> I tell you unlimited I mean unlimited. and they always have clam chowder and. maybe two or three others. And for. anyone listening in case you missed it, it's as much soup AS. >> the most soup soup ever. And I my man.

was like going back and getting a. million [ __ ] bowls of it. >> Oh my god. >> But then he started stacking them like. we were at conveyor belt sushi and I was. like, "Hey, they they don't clear them. like that, so this is humiliating. Go. ahead and clear your own.". >> You put it on a on an empty table. >> Yeah. And all their bowls have the. handles so you can carry so you don't. have to carry hot soup in your hands. Like they all they thought of everything. in that. >> they thought of everything. The. blueberry muffins. >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> Oh my god. I loved the blueberry muffins. there. >> So upset. >> And their soft serve. You can make your. own little soft serve. >> It was so [ __ ].

>> good. I wish we could go there. >> They need to revive it. You and I, our. retirement plan should be reviving Sue. Plantation. Let's go in on it. >> Don't [ __ ] with me. Don't Drew Barrymore. me right now. Don't say we're going to. get dinner and we don't. Okay. She. didn't mean it. But I don't. I do. Don't. threaten me with restarting a chain of. restaurants. That was important to me as. a child. Don't [ __ ] with me right now. >> I'm so I love Slantation. We should. >> get matching Supplation. tattoos. That's what we should do.

>> Oh, the tattoos. We do the little. tomatoes. >> The little tomatoes. Yeah. >> Not even kidding. Not even kidding. That's hilarious. That would be hilar. This is what I'm talking about. All my. tattoo ideas are so lame. They're all. like spurof the moment. You're like, "I'm feeling inspired in this moment. I'm gonna go get the soup.". >> Telling the tattoo artist that's what. you want. I want a little tomato. Oh, what's the tomato for? Do you remember. failed buffet style restaurant but. healthy soup plantation? No. It was.

sweet tomatoes for a while. Do you. remember sweet tomatoes? >> Yes, of course I do. >> Okay, listen. Listen to me. As. >> as much soup as you want. >> And get this, as much soup. >> As much soup. Cuz you know when you're. eating soup, you're always like, I wish. I had an unlimited amount of soup. >> You always want more. You're kidding, but I'm not. >> Because every time I eat soup, I'm like, well, that was like nothing. I felt like. I just sat there and opened my mouth and. closed it a million times. >> And I go, why can't I have five other. flavors of soup immediately? And then.

obviously I pivot to a brownie. Then I. pivot back to my salad. Then I pivot. back to my second soup. >> It's a palette cleanser. It's like a a. restaurant of all my favorite things. Like it's salads, soups, carbs. Yep. No. meat. No protein at all. >> No protein. >> No protein at all. >> Not one. Me choking cuz I'm getting like. choked up thinking about plantation and. how much I miss it. >> I can smell it. I can smell it. And the. trays, the little food trays they had. I. can't believe you're a Supplantation. stand. That's why I said you go in the.

tattoo shop. What if they all gasp like. they did in here? That was so. validating. That was one of the greatest. moments of my life. That was community. That was amazing. >> That's what it's all about at the end of. the day. >> A Sue Plantation gasp. >> That was a gasp akin to like me watching. Heated Rivalry with my friends. >> and we didn't even kiss. It was that was. really nice. >> That is it. That That was so nice. I'm. so We're literally the same person. I. think we were born in the same egg. >> I think so, too.

>> Can we actually be friends, though? Like, I know we all do podcasts and. we're like we're all hanging out on. camera, but like for real, let's be. friends. >> Yes. And I'm being for real. like Drew. was to me. >> I'm in Orange County normally like. regularly. My sister lives there. Like. we'll. >> t. >> Yeah, >> you let me know. I'll be there. >> Who has more Instagram followers? Cuz. that's who has to reach out. >> That's how it is. It's You're Drew. Barrymore. Who's Drew Barrymore? >> My guess is honestly on you. I think you. have more. >> Do I have more? I don't know if. >> I do. I feel like you have more of a. world appeal than I do. >> I don't know.

>> Because obviously you're way more. famous. >> Here's what we're going to do. We're. going to walk around a mall and we're. going to see who gets stopped more. We're going to take we're going to take. a lap separately separately. >> alone and we're going to come back and. we're go what have you got and I got for. more selfies and I guarantee you your. number's higher than mine. >> I disagree honestly. >> I really I promise. >> Maybe it depends. Maybe it depends on. the demographic. >> like what mall we go to. >> Yeah. Or the age because like when I go. to like. >> you get younger you think. >> is people's moms will bring them to my. shows now and it hurts my feelings.

>> I when moms come with their daughters. and the daughter is like 20. I go, "Whose idea was it to come?" Guess. who's. >> I go I go, "Have you ever heard of me. before?"
