Oni which would be a more common surname. onar is a more common name which. technically the mispronunciation was due. in part the Killer's fault they never. clarified how to pronounce his name and. it's not a normal Japanese surname the. Press t the kanji they pronounce it the.

way that they think would be best. pronounced it is what you would. reasonably call an honest. mistake this sent the killer into a. spiral he sent a letter in bright red. ink it resembled blood it wasn't but it. was terrifying he sent a letter to the. newspaper Kobe shim bam now this is. condensed for length and Clarity but it. reads in bright red you know that. mispronouncing someone's name is the. epitome of ridicule don't you recently. while I happen to be watching TV I heard. a news anchor mispronounced my name as.

Oni Bara I could have quietly enjoyed. murder without anyone noticing if I had. wanted to the reason I deliberately. sought attention from society is that I. want to at least be acknowledged as a. real human being in your imaginations as. if if kids were allowed to play at. playgrounds there was like a force field. of parents surrounding them just on pins. and needles you're you come back here. how many times did I tell you to stay in. sight what did I that's enough we're. going home they would grab their kids. hands rush them past all the newspaper. stands and they would read Kobe. residents live in fear as killer remains. unidentified if the police just had a. general idea of of who to look out for a.

Grandma's face he realized this this. right here this is my first touch of. death so as he's having this experience. he is thinking about the last time he. saw his grandma which was when she.

died he thinks long and hard about his. dead grandma and he finds a rhythm and. he said I desperately chased the. illusion of my grandmother her voice her. smell her touch her tears everything I. had tears runny nose and drool all. coming down and mixing. together his Consciousness started. fading in and out this is how he. describes it he said that he felt. happiness that he had never experienced. at this level along with intense. unescapable pain like somebody had.

questions in the Japanese media about if. maybe perhaps the parents were a little. bit too strict compared to others but. Chicho said they were actually pretty. lenient and all the evidence points to. them being pretty lenient he had bad. grades he skipped school they don't give. me crazy tiger parents mhm but growing. up he remembers his dad would let him. chew on his palm when his teeth started. growing in as a baby so you chew on his. dad's Palm Shino said that his mom's. smile was one of the best things you.

could look at so he would always beg her. to watch comedy movies with him he. doesn't even like comedy movies but he. just loves seeing her smile she would be. looking at the TV he would be looking at. her but he never left the house to hang. out with any of his family members. unless it was to go see Grandma you. don't want to come out and eat with us. we're going to eat your favorite thing. like we're all going to go to your. favorite restaurant shinich wouldn't. even respond he would only get excited. when he was told hey we're going to. Grandma's like why would he need to hang.

out with kids and go to the movies when. he could take baths with his grandma. okay it sounds weird now knowing what he. did but the baths were actually very. innocent his grandma would just scrub. the dead skin off of him with a rough. soapy towel and he said she scrubbed my. face so hard each time that I would. close my eyes and hope that it would be. over very very soon even if his face was. completely red and raw after his bath. shinichiro would be grinning from ear to. ear his grandma was the one who gave him. strength he said one day when they went.

to the park he had this sudden urge to. impress his grandma he just wanted to. wow her so he scans his little head. around and he spots the tallest tree in. the park he walks right up to it and. without even feeling an ounce of fear or. hesitation he starts scaling the tree. like a little spider monkey he never. once looked down just climbing higher. higher higher until he's at the very top. he sits down on a thick very shaky. branch and he looks down at the crowd. below him it is massive like it's a park. and he's at the very top he could see.

the bikers you know passing through the. route people walking their dogs the air. felt breezier up here more windy and he. saw his little Grandma standing near the. base of the tree and her hands are like. grabbing at her cheeks her forehead her. mouth and she's self soothing herself. literally at first shichiro was confused. because why aren't you proud of me I. just climbed the tallest tree in the. park but he made his way down and she. burst into tears she was so worried he. would fall or that he would die and he.

tried to comfort her grandma it's okay. everything's okay I'm okay shinichiro. would hug her and she would just SOB in. his arms while he kept apologizing I'm. sorry I I'm never going to do that again. I'll never scare. you that day it really solidified two. things for shinich chido one grandma is. his whole world two he was Grandma's. whole world and three but to the rest of. the world nobody gave a flying Fork. about Chicho like zero and that's not to.

say it harshly it's just the truth like. not everybody is the main character and. everybody story we're all our own main. characters Shino though wasn't even a. side character he wasn't even a. supporting actor he was like a nameless. extra if life were a movie he would be. extra student Shino was the invisible. kid in class they call him ghost. students so if he walks into class. nobody would notice nobody would be like. oh shinos here or they wouldn't even. glance at way it's almost like he has no.

presence if he skipped school because he. was sick nobody would ask him hey why. weren't you here yesterday they wouldn't. even notice he just kind of floated. around and existed people would know if. he was gone that they were missing a. student because they know the number of. students per classroom but nobody could. place who it was they'd be really. thinking they're like man I know we're. missing a student because it's normally. 32 students but now it's 31 students but. I for the life of me can't figure out. who is missing. that was sheno he was a no-face kid a.

ghost player in the classroom then the. natural assumption would be that if. anybody showed Chicho attention and. admiration he would like them back just. like he likes his grandma I mean that's. what logically makes sense right there. was a little boy named Jun hassa shino's. little brother's friend so he's like a. few years younger and June would. excitedly look up at shinichiro asking. him questions about turtles shinichiro. knew a lot about animals and turtles. were June's favorite he would get so.

excited when Chicho would respond to him. his eyes would go wide and then they. would turn into these little half Moons. every time he smiled and June's eyes. were so captivating for Shino they're. like these almond shaped the eyelids. were so thin you could almost see the. veins they were almost always crinkled. in the outer Corners because June had a. permanent smile they were just the. cutest little. eyes Shino hated those eyes. every time he saw this happy little Half.

Moon shaped eyes he would want to. retreat into his Sanctuary he would go. deep into his mind and he would try to. isolate himself in a sanctuary a place. where nobody else could enter where he. could cut off the rest of the world in. the real world he was a slug he said I'm. a slug I have no shell to protect myself. and therefore I cannot be a snail so I. have to build a shell inside of my body. to protect myself as soon as I'm aware. of danger I hide in my. shell June's eyes were dangerous so he.

retreated into his shell his safe space. but something about that day on that. playground he just couldn't do it he. just couldn't do it he had looked into. June's eyes and he felt this. overwhelming urge to destroy June June. is holding shinich chido's hand and. they're going to the climbing rings. together wait it doesn't make sense like. why does he hate him so much oh he'll. tell us soon enough okay he just hates. him though despises him Shino didn't. know why he did it but he wanted to look. into his eyes while he.

Whispers coming through the teacher. pulling his mother to the side shino's. mom trying to explain away another one. of his incidents he was put in a. different class from his close friends. when he entered the sixth grade we. changed middle school so of course maybe. he feels incredibly lonely and isolated.

and perhaps it manifested in him taking. it out on June regardless there is no. excuse and we will handle it at. home it felt like she was always. cleaning up after him but this time the. teacher is not having it she lowers her. voice ma'am this isn't normal behavior. there's no reason for something like. this at all he admitted to one of the. other teachers that he enjoys killing. insects it just um we're concerned this. this could easily lead to something more. more it was okay though because sheno.

would take care of it this time he would. not need his mom to clean up after him.
