tell us how. people in our country choose their. political leaders. or what are they propagating why we. believe why are we loyal to certain. parties and why we not. i think there are two or three reasons. so i was telling you like how i found. the book okay. so i went on amazon books on indian. society. and randomly two or three books popped. up right i was just like looking up to. it so i was like nation of idiots.

so because my mindset was i want to. understand. how broken the society is or the norms. we're following i'm already in that. mindset okay. then. and i was a little unsure whether i. should buy it or no. yeah. like i've never heard of it right right. and then back my mana pada. so. at the back there's this uh you say. there's one thing i think i've added.

we we build things to prove a point or. something like that and break things to. prove our worth yeah yeah yeah or the. other way. so the line was wait i'll read it i. don't know this was uh yeah so. we built things to prove our worth and. break things to prove a point yeah. dude this just. like i mean. it would it just. resonated so much right like i want to. read this book now it's strange that you. say that because when i came up with the. idea for the book i i was taking a.

flight and i told my wife that i've got. an idea uh it's uh it's a book that's. going to be called the nation of idiots. and she's like no one's going to read it. if you name it that no one's going to. read it and then what's at the back i. wrote that um on the flight and it's as. is i've never changed it i've never. modified it that's that's what went. that's the whole thing yeah that's the. whole thing like we yeah we won't we. don't stop at zebra crossing where we'll. stop on it. it's like a right to do that yeah.

so that that fascinated me a lot and. then i knew that i want to order because. i have this thing i don't know why i've. believed this but i feel that if you're. reading what everyone else is reading. you'll start thinking like what everyone. is thinking oh my god that that's so. true because if you think about it uh. the mainstream machine what it turns out. uh. it's like we all having the same folder. and then if you find something that is a. bit different right um.

you can change a lot of people and turn. them towards that so like you posted. about it yeah i mean. i'm and i'm really grateful that you did. that that was awesome uh we had uh we. had quite the bump in sales because of. uh what you posted so thank you yeah oh. thanks no i have a dude like i genuinely. believe that. the best authors. are the ones who observe. the society or the people in a way which. not many mainstream people are able to. do. right and that's why they need to be.

heard out more. right i think there has to be a space. for independent art otherwise uh you. know we are all. getting the same information and we are. running out of things to talk about yeah. this is the same thing again and again. you look out and you know i was actually. searching so after this i try to find. out the genre of the book. what genre does it come like does it. come in economics does come to indian. society does it come in like what is. this right and i couldn't define it like. what how would you define a genre for it. um i think it's just um it's funny and.

uh so it's a it's a comedy of sorts but. it's also society and culture um it goes. across different genres you're right. it's offensive not funny. it's offensive as hell okay let me. redefine that it's funny to me. i get it so now that you're talking. about me and offensive okay. i found something very interesting and. you talked about. the news okay right you talked about how.

the australia racism and all of that. yeah so we were talking about it and uh. i told her that. you know what. that australia major racism attacks over. there that is not true right okay. because that year and all of that which. happened and the movie came out. everything happened on that thing it's. it's a different story that we then the. reality yeah so can you can you. elaborate more on this because there are. lots of students just like them right. who are now afraid to go to australia.

because they feel that there's racism. you know the. media plays uh tricks on us it's as. simple as that um. what we watch on tv and. you know read about we think it's all. true um when i was going to australia it. was a different world i thought the. entire country is going to be like the. australian team it was not. it's a really nice country um but. during this particular time i remember. that the people in india like my.

relatives and friends here were more of. uh more uh concerned about what was. going on over there because it was. running on our news 24 7. yeah. it was a classic case of isolating facts. and then exaggerating them. so because 2008 was a tricky time. global financial crisis had hit and the. crime rates were on the rise. all throughout the world i would say. um you know australian students were. also attacked during the time whether. they're students or they were working.

it sort of. it was across society but what they did. was they found just. the numbers that related to us. and then they propagated it 24 7. so the result of that was that there was. this hysteria created i was completely. safe over there i started to feel unsafe. just because people kept asking me are. you okay you know it was it was a it was. a really weird time and then there was. this whole protest that happened.

in melbourne. all the students went there and in the. end it came to nothing but a few. journalists coming to australia and. experiencing melbourne. and reporting about it that it was. it's a really great place because they. were given five-star treatment and you. know how all students get five-star. treatments yeah. german made tanks to take them to school. so yeah that was a weird time. but like what was the reality of it like.

because i remember i remember in my. house we were watching this and there's. something called black cats or some. like that i don't even remember that. like was it some something. close to this like there were like a. group of people who were attacking. indians per se because they were like. racial attacks so we read this in news. we saw that in news and my family was. nuts like in my there's nobody in my. entire family has been to australia okay. let's let's just say that. but still. they were very scared.

so what was happening because you were. there. now see here's the here's the irony of. the situation. you know more than i do i don't know. what you're talking about. i have no clue i was there and nothing. like this was happening yeah there were. incidents of. like i think there was a student who got. attacked and. you know his uh. wallet was stolen and watch was stolen. but i don't think i don't think it was a. hate crime uh it could have been but it.

was certainly not big enough to be at a. national level. uh. that we create such hysteria that. everyone gets worried yeah you know if. i'm going back home now and i get robbed. right the whole country is not going to. go up in arms. that's what i'm talking about it's about. what has happened and how it has been. portrayed. portrayed and also how the word has been. spread how quickly uh so.

portraying someone or something in a. negative light is one thing but how. quickly now you can do it. you would think like something as big as. the news that can influence like. millions of people. could be a little bit more responsible. with. how quickly they come to judgment. so you mean to say that. it. it happened with the student right who. coincidentally happened to be an indian. i think and then it was shown in a way. that it was a racial attack which.

might be possible that it was not and. this is my feeling that after those. reports the racial attacks might have. started because it was reactionary as. well. you know then you don't know what came. first. so that's my feeling anyway so. now i understand that people stage it in. a way that we believe it right okay. but why do we believe certain people or. certain news channels and why don't we. believe other channels because you're. believing the person if the other day i.

saw a couple of ads in the newspaper. they were trumping up these two news. anchors obviously they looked angry and. we go only after the real news and. things like that. this whole propaganda is based to just. do one thing that when the news anchor. tells you something you don't question. it you take it as it is so from another. source you might go this is fake. i have seen. news anchors say some of the weirdest. stuff.

even weirder than what you would get on. whatsapp and people go is there truth to. it. they're not saying oh this is false like. you would with a forward. because it's been. it's been. almost. hammered into your head that. you need to believe this guy because. this guy is a crusader he's not a. crusader he can just read well you know. you have to understand the skill set and. he can yell it out that's the other. thing as well. so.

what happens is just you. don't question the source and it's far. easier for news channels. to. make you trust a person rather than an. organization okay so they won't make you. trust them. they'll do a bit of that they will say. we got it first number one news channel. etc but they will not trump themselves. up as much as they would a person yeah. because in a person you can find trust. and i think it's such a great point. because we need to understand that.

the person who's reading out the news is. not the actual one who's going out and. finding out whether it's the right news. or the wrong news yeah but we're. trusting the person who can read well. and i would go as far as to say even the. person who's reading out the news does. not know if it's true or not. because they're looking at and looking. at it in real time. if it's breaking news first of all when. did this happen it's no longer breaking. news it's burning breaking news breaking. news is not enough.

we need to come up with more. more stuff to define what's going on how. quickly do we need this news i mean some. politicians say some stupid stuff and we. we got to know it right now because it's. a burning question. exactly but. but that's like just because we all have. become impatient or maybe the media has. made us believe that you know if you get. it first you are right or like. if you get it first you're the. intelligent one or you we are telling. you the first time and there's this.

there's this so. how would i tell you. this is need like an unknown unknown. need in indian people that we've got to. be first. like we we need to know this first like. my dad knows that okay so i was talking. to my dad and my dad sees specifically. one channel and he's like because he is.

because then he feels. maybe he's not even sharing it with. other people maybe he's not the one. who's actually getting a fame out of it. nothing he's just consuming it and even. consumption even like he needs to get it. first like he needs to get it before all. of us. and that's what i've seen him everywhere. it's like my uncles my relatives my. friends parents they all want to be. first right why is there why do you feel.

because you've studied so much why do. you feel there's an unman like there's. this need for indian men to be first and. can you give other examples where i've. been. you feel like they want to come first. again and again i think. what i've said at the book is. somewhat to that effect what happens is. we have grown up in a country of over a. billion people now and uh if you're not. there first we might not be there at all. that has been conditioned into our head.

from a very early age right yeah so. i've seen so many people rushing through. the airport as if the flight is going to. leave without them. even if they're first and they might. actually leave the guys who are coming. late. uh behind. the security at the airport is basically. an obstacle course for. passengers to get through yeah run and. inside even after when the flight lands. yeah the moment it lands everybody. stands up and they want to rush it to. the gate toward like they just want to. be there the first. i think.

i think there should be a system. installed in planes in our country where. the seat belt opens in 30 second. intervals as you go further back in the. row. that will solve everything so now you. said very interesting thing okay we. don't question anything right okay and. that's i think that's the first chapter. yeah like people don't question right. everything which we feel. whatever we have been doing if it's. wrong or right we just follow it right. whether it's the culture religion the.

way we treat our people men women. everything we just we don't question it. why don't we question. i think because we're scared like we all. are scared no. in fact when i started writing a nation. of idiots i had a single idea. that uh. how do you make sense of a society as. complex as ours yeah you know we have. over 200 languages over 5000 plus. communities and with. age-old traditions and. with the social and moral problems uh.

very unique to us. it's almost too easy to follow blindly. what you don't understand. so. now i'm not a historian yeah uh although. i have fallen asleep during the lectures. and i'm not a reporter. you know i avoid what they think is. important. but i am someone who looks at society. with a keen eye. and what i found out was that it's not. that we don't want to question but i. think somewhere see no society knows.

whether they're heading in the right. direction and no person does either. but when a society doesn't allow a. person to question. that society is heading in the wrong. direction. so it's been conditioned into us that. asking questions is dumb. i think. uh but also i believe that there are no. dumb questions only dumb answers and as. long as you ask. ask questions. and if no one can give you the right. answer to it.

then i think. you should. stop and measure. whether what you're doing is right it's. just as simple as that is there any. incident where you were questioned and. you felt like. you're sure i'm not allowed to ask. questions as well yeah uh. there was this one time where i was uh. with my sister and we were at a friend's. house and the friend's mother was. talking about how my sister would go to. another would belong to another house. soon and i just questioned why would she.

belong to another house. you know okay i i have a same story okay. that's what resonated with you oh wow. okay. exactly same you tell me and then i'll. tell you my version of it yeah so i i. questioned why would she belong to. another house and they said because. that's the way it is and i said but is. that part of our culture. and she asked me to shut up basically uh. because they. she thought. culture was the. um end all of all arguments as such but.

that that kind of struck with me because. i i don't understand why uh there are. different rules for women and men and i. remember asking her that uh. you know is that part of our culture. that you know a woman goes from one. house to another. and she says. yes and i ask her that why isn't it the. same for men. and she says uh you know you don't just. leave your home and go out you live with. your parents and i told her unless. you're a woman and.

that just i was never invited into that. household again you know. yeah i'm not doing justice to it but. it's way funnier in the book. okay so i tell you i had a similar thing. okay and i used to always feel. that. life is unfair to me but to my sisters. it's like very fair okay like they are. like just born it's just good right. because they were toppers so they would. like always score good marks they were. like angels of the house they were very. well pampered and i was like why is it.

like me i mean i'm not born with this. brain which works as you get like 94. doesn't mean like life has to be unfair. to me right i have to do extra hours of. learning and reading i mean the fact. that i don't like studying that's why. i'm not getting good marks why you. making me study. and then they would get they would take. out anything from their mouth they would. get it right okay so i thought like it's. very unfair for me. until one day i heard my. one of my relatives. tell my sister i think we were i think.

16 17 okay and my sister's like my same. age she's a cousin but we live in the. same house right so. she said like one of her relatives said. like. okay it's like of course you're not you. don't belong to like you're you're. someone else's asset you have to be in. someone else's house and i'm like why is. she and she's she was being very as a. kid we all restrained right she was like. i won't even marry i don't want to go. right and. i be like a brother and as a 17 year old.

i'm like. and then that thing stuck with me so as. my dad later i think two three days. later i went to my dad and was like that. why is she like she has to leave the. house and go somewhere else right and my. dad said because that's how it is your. mom left house and she came here. so. i said that was mom's choice. right but my sister doesn't have a. choice why is she being forced to go to. someone else's house right so that's. like say yo. they're like why can't we get that guy. to our house.

right right and then he said the same. thing like the guy like you can't leave. your family and go right and i was like. like my sister can leave her parents and. go somewhere else. why can't that guy leave their parents. and go to somewhere else yeah or maybe. let's make it fair for both of them they. both leave their house and start their. own house so that that can be their. house nobody's shifting from one house. to another house that's what it's. supposed to be the problem is that we. are not a very rich country so what. happens is that uh.

when a couple gets married they end up. living with a set of parents let's say. right but we confused proximity with. belonging. what we don't understand is that the. girl still belongs first of all she does. not belong to anyone yeah but she still. is connected with her family and she is. connected with the guy's family. but. i can't understand why people don't see. it like that anymore. things are changing but there is there. is this problem of where you live.

is with whom you are that's not true. when it comes to family. so i have heard this statement quite a. bit that. people. who have daughters who are married they. keep telling them okay you've stayed too. long at our house now now go back to. your house now that is your house yeah. those are your parents. and i always want to tell them you know. that's not true you're buying into the. same thing that you will you will. probably realize.

20 years later that what we were doing. was wrong yeah so why is it wrong to. question it right now. you know we always question in hindsight. if you look at any society anything they. always question oh what were we doing. back in the 80s why were we like this. right why can't we do that. in the moment yeah and people take. offense if you do it in the moment which. is weird because they are the ones. practicing it but it's okay if you're. practicing it you're not everyone can. learn at their own time. you know if you're practicing something. like that let's say for example you say.

that it is our culture that the girl. goes away why i i don't agree a girl. should not be married away she's just. getting married yeah that's it remove. the away it's okay but no need to take. offense over it if i question that you. know yeah yeah and more than offense. they don't have an answer and they'd be. like you know what shut up offense is. the absence of answers. yeah oh that's a great one. so i i'll continue that okay so i asked. my dad and dad like. um so okay like this is not so are you.

telling me that you're gonna leave the. house. when you get married i was like i'm not. saying that but what if that girl. doesn't want to come to this house and. wants me to move with her somewhere else. then if i really love her should i be. like a good husband and follow her and. like build her own house or should i. should i be here what should i do when. you know the answer to that tell me also. and then my dad said something which. stuck with me he said. we don't even want a girl who's going to.

split our families. okay and that's that's and that was like. it's so deep i'm not trying to demonize. my dad okay he's like a really cool guy. a really nice person. that moment and i was like. the rules for girls are different and. guys are different. girls a first they have to live in their. parents their spirit and house and they. have to follow certain rules. all of those rules in india right then. she has to go to someone else's house.

and then there also she has to follow. someone else's rule because now if she. said something the guy cannot do. anything because the guy would be. demonized and the girl will also be. demonized right so it just it just. flipped my mind and then two days later. my dad comes out and my mom also got to. know about this conversation my mom's. like you know what you're right. so that's amazing and my dad that said. like you know what it makes sense. i would love like love from the bottom. of my heart that if we all stay together.

but if the girl has some problem what we. can do is we can have two houses one you. live like nearby you just live i don't. want my kids or my. grandkids to be away from us so either. we can have like if we are not that. wealthy we can have different floors. right if we are wealthy then we can have. like two different houses and you can. live there and i love that like how that. one questioning of one thing changed the. thinking of my dad and it's like now. okay with the idea of living with. someone else somewhere else yes see. that's amazing because your dad tried to.

answer the question and then he thought. about it and then he said. maybe he doesn't know the answer but the. question was valid. that makes all the difference right so. but okay so why do you feel i want to. understand the reason like. why. when did this happen. when did this happen where we started. putting men above women and why is it. the reason why we are on. like. we're not treating everybody equally now. we talk about it now things are changing. definitely doesn't change the thing but. still deep down somewhere right we're.

still treating women not the same way. indirectly or directly right right so. when did this happen because. when we read like books right the. evolution of human beings then women. used to control. right it was it was women who would. control and let a man sleep inside the. cave or no right like she would control. the house she would control everything. okay when did this happen. see i don't i don't know when it. happened but i know that. each generation thinks that.

things are changing. but at the core things are not changing. because there is always a section of. society that believes in the core values. that are flawed. that's the problem. uh. and things have gotten exploited so. everything had a reason for. why things were the way they were before. well whether it's uh first of all. marriage uh i'm i'm a married man and. uh you know when we were getting married. uh i like i questioned everything i was.

questioning a lot of the stuff that was. going on. and uh my wife told me something. interesting she was uh she said that. you know. i said. you know modern marriages they don't. modern weddings they don't need all this. and she's like. marriage is an archaic thing. you're talking about something archaic. and you just want to do it in your. fashion that's why you're calling it. modern so. we don't have we don't have the. understanding of why things are the way. they are but we we don't question why.

certain things have been exploited. whether it is. a woman moving to the guy's house right. uh. that could be exploited to make you. believe that you no longer are connected. with your original family. right so that's the exploitation yeah so. do we address the exploitation or the. system. right. our core values have been exploited to. follow. if we start questioning it we will get. to the root of it so anyways what do you. think have. is our generation doing much better than.

the last one. it's a tough spot you're putting me on a. tough spot right should i be brutal. honest i i really feel what you said was. really it is true that we are very quick. to decide right i know that there are a. far majority of people who. never. thought of certain things they are now. changing and they're accepting it that's. there right but we're very quick to. judge right it's very easy for someone. like for us to offend someone and give.

give get them back to the site which. they originally believed in right yeah. right so. it's just our generation is. i would say. more than more than they're very easily. they're very sensitive. right yeah so we're always trying to. protect ourselves yeah so we're. sensitive we get offended by every. little thing right because we know like. 10 things now out of 10 things we don't. know which one to react on so that's why. we react on every tending that's very.

true right so we don't know like what is. that one thing which matters a lot to us. we don't know that we don't have a back. something substantial to back our. decision we don't know the reality of it. we don't know where are we coming from. where the other person's coming from but. there are ten things right and. then just because there are ten things. we'll react to everything right. yeah. that's actually a very good answer i'm. not i didn't put you on the spot at all. oh you had that prepared. well done. no i but i feel it certain way it's not.

because okay so i have a group okay. and we are very tight like six seven. people okay right. two of them. are very open right we are open with the. idea of lgbtq we are open with the idea. of. moving out and having your own freedom. we're open with the idea of like. everything modern or everything which. you say which requires questioning okay. in the same group same right we have. born and brought up together we have.

friends in the last 10 years we. literally hang out more than we hang out. with our families right right there are. two other people who feel that. women are supposed to be treated in. certain way. even though we hang out together right. right. why they don't know. why are we like this why are we open we. don't know right so we have never. questioned. we have never thought of a reason of why. we are backing this. yeah we are very intolerant towards. certain religion we are very like there.

are a few people who are intolerant. towards the idea of women working they. feel the man feels like even today i'm. talking my friends they feel like if. women works yeah it's gonna hurt their. ego. right right so. all of this i'm saying that in the same. group there are 10 different people. because 10 of them are consuming. different kind of media right and. because they're consuming certain kind. of media they see that okay let's say. raj. maybe he has certain backing towards. something raj is let's say raj is a male.

feminist because he believes in certain. things so because i am very adamant. the other person feels that he also. needs to be adamant right on something. that he stands on right regardless. whether he he doesn't he wouldn't see. that okay raj. backs this idea because of certain. incidents in his life. raj backs his idea because of certain. studies in his life they won't care. they're like raj is adamant about this. so i need to be adamant about my state. as well and that's why everybody is like. because this ego battle yeah everybody's.

quickly judging and they're adamant. about certain things which is making. them sensitive towards everything else. that is what i feel yeah that's. that's very well put in fact i i would. agree with most of what you've said. and. i think right now. you know with each generation i think. you can just solve. one or two major problems. with our generation the problem is we. don't know what the problem is. we have so many small fires to put out. at least we believe.

uh that we are not able to get to and i. don't know either i'm not trying to be. someone who knows it all they don't know. anything. but. i feel like we haven't found that core. problem that we can actually fix. if you look at the generations before us. whether it's the generation that felt uh. that you know a woman should be treated. like one way or another or majority of. the generation felt like that. you know you have to understand like you. said you have to understand their.

experiences their experiences society. makes a man right yeah and it's very. hard for a man to make the society. or a woman sorry. but there was a generation that was. that was fighting for our freedom. and they penned down a constitution when. they had never worked in public office. the way. we do today. you know they never understood what it's. like to be in our own country and they. still got it right. so that was a generation that solved a.

very core problem on how. the rest of us would live. but i don't think our generation has yet. found that. and the pressure to take sides is a lot. but i'm really happy with what you said. because it is okay to hang out with. people who come from different. backgrounds who have different. experiences who might even think. something that you think is incorrect. yeah that makes you more tolerant. i don't like an echo chamber i don't. like when people four people sitting.

across. a table all say the same thing and they. feel like they are in majority that. and that's how we've started to operate. when it comes to. our politics you know most of us have. started to operate like bond villains. like if you're not with me you are. against me i mean i'm just trying to. have a coffee you know. it's weird so yeah i mean you're right. there. there's a so there was a rule i read. rule of magnetism right okay so every. influential person or every political.

leader every leader. needs to have an influence okay and the. easiest way to have an influence is to. put everything in extreme yes or no. there's no middle. okay so that's why the leaders of the. world they are trained specifically and. their campaign makers are trained. specifically that you portray the. situation in a way. where people should feel themselves that. either i'm with them or not with them. the moment you feel so that's why you'll. see every political campaign.

every politic would make you believe. that okay. i either like this politician or i hate. it. you wouldn't be like let me see what. he's working on. let me see what he's about let me see. his background no the political campaign. is designed in his way that. if you are if you like us. like if you're with us then you love us. if you're not with us you hate us and. you belong to somewhere else. the easiest way to make people follow. you is tell them that if you're not. following you then they're against you.

and most of the people want to be liked. that's why they feel like okay if i'm. against them i'll be hated so let me. like them yeah and i'll give you an. example of that when we vote for a party. i have never understood why we are. already loyal to it if you vote for. someone you should be their biggest. critic yeah i don't understand why. before they've done their job that's the. right choice it's not the right choice. it's the majority choice. there are two questions okay. first is. tell us how. people in our country choose their.

political leaders. or what are they propagating why we. believe why are we loyal to certain. parties and why we not i think there are. two or three reasons one is religion one. is community and the third is family. okay what your family votes for usually. you vote for. if there are two candidates one is of a. different religion chances are you might. not vote for them. that's the truth that's why religious. politics and. commun community politics plays out at. such a mass level.

the other reason. is who has joked about more on social. media is the person i'm not going to. vote for simple as that the funnier. person i will not vote for i will vote. for the person who's making who's who. has this like i.t cell who can get all. the jokes out so whoever gets out the. jokes faster i was reading this article. which was very interesting it said one. national party has nine hundred thousand. it. uh warriors and the other uh party has.

some seven hundred thousand part uh id. warriors and their whole job is just to. send whatsapp forwards and we have what. a million. polling booths. that's almost one per polling booth. think about that like think about how. porous. this false campaign is where you if you. laugh at a candidate if someone does. something funny i'm not voting for him. that's the mentality he can't lead the. country. well there have been enough jokers. leading most countries in the world and.

they've done. they've done okay. so that's how we choose our candidates. we. uh. we put them into comedian or serious guy. and the serious guy wins serious guy. always wins but okay so. what should they do what should we do if. we don't want to belong to this category. let's say i want a question. what are the questions i should ask. before choosing like the right guy. so one of the things that i've always. thought about is that in most living.

rooms. you can't. praise two candidates from different. parties that's almost like cheating i. mean cheating would be forgiven. here. you have to look into individuals but. not get obsessed with individuals i feel. like right now names guide our choices. names should not guide our choices. issues and the work they're doing should. guide our choices yeah and it's okay to. be part of the majority or the minority. there's no point getting angry over it. over a dinner party because.

you're not changing anyone anything. but the way to look at it is. i always find. one good way to look at which candidate. is doing better is with who is the most. silent one. but doing. a better job that i can see out there. and i don't mean roads i don't mean. roads all those things i mean. have they taken on new initiatives that. were not part of their mandate. you know a mandate is constructed. according to what the masters want.

okay but someone who's doing something. that they did not. list out that they would do. means they are thinking outside the box. and i would vote for that candidate i. would always vote for that candidate. because of that reason and i don't think. you need to vote to criticize a. candidate as well this whole myth i mean. i might get backlash for it but this. whole myth that you've got to vote only. then you can criticize someone i mean i. didn't vote for. people in the indian team i still.

criticize their selection it's okay. anyway. it's. it's kind of true maybe. because when you question even whether. you. whether you chose them or you didn't. choose them. if you just question what are they doing. you kind of. enticing or igniting a conversation with. hundreds of people who one of them might. start questioning their decision as well.

yeah that's a good thing yeah that's a. good thing. but i'm not seeing those. voices anymore that would vote for one. person and two years down the line say i. made a mistake. i shouldn't have would have you have you. heard someone say that i say that you. say that. okay it's only you then because i. haven't heard anyone else say it and i. i'm surprised that how can your choice. be so right every time yeah we're. constantly picking the wrong uh phone. plan the wrong uh cable connection you. know we pick the wrong flight we get the.

wrong coffee but political candidate we. got our choice spot on because. that's how our mind works yeah and. nobody's ready to take so again coming. back to the same point which we started. right accountability nobody is ready to. take an accountability oh you know what. we were wrong because the media has been. feeding that if there's something wrong. you shift the spotlight yeah true you. shift the spotlight and so spotlight. effect is. i think media has taught all of a.

spotlight effect yeah true yeah so like. it's so spotlight effect what i mean is. if there's some issue you don't solve it. you just shift your spotlight to a. bigger issue right and then the bigger. issue so you like let the old thing die. forget it and that's what we all are. doing instead of being accountable of. whether to make the right thing or the. wrong thing. we are like it and we are also uh. strangely it is the waters also doing it. it's not just politicians and newsmakers. it's. voters are talking about.

us. they talk about something that the other. party did wrong five years ago. if you bring up something that one party. did wrong they always have a rebuttal. and it has nothing to do with what you. brought up yeah which is a dangerous way. to play the game because you can always. have an answer there. [Laughter]. it's. wow i'm just thinking about all the. conversations i've had with people who. believe in certain different political. parties or different issues right it's. true. when you start talking to them.

instead of solving the current problem. or backing their current. up they are trying to come up with. some bad thing which the party i. supported it five years ago right or. something which i did two years ago. like now from party to me now they're. attacking me like oh. okay dude so this is one of the posts. that i had. written for a nation of idiots. on instagram i i wrote if you're easily.

offended uh you you are easily. distracted. and that is that comes down to. accountability. people. want you to get offended. so that now you start talking about. something else something less material. because till now if you were talking. about substance all it takes is for me. to. get to your core and say something about. you that you don't like like i don't. like that shirt right and you get. offended and you start talking to me. about something that i've done wrong and.

whatever the topic was is now sailing. away slowly and the conversation is just. useless after that that's a great one if. you're easily offended you're easily. distracted. my question is now that we know that. we. we are a nation filled with idiots okay. right so i say idiots because we don't. question anything we just keep we follow. we follow whatever we have been told. whatever we've been showed we follow it. blindly without even asking is it the. right thing for me or no based on our.

last name based on the place where we. born we just follow everything most of. us most. yeah so. now. how do we make sure that people are. watching this okay right they try to. stay away from these kind of idiots so. that. their opinions right do not hamper our. opinions okay uh so you can't do that. there are too many idiots around uh. they're not everywhere but they're. louder than. uh.

most people. and what happens is you. get into if you get into a conversation. with an idiot. uh you hear them out because sometimes. they will. so there is a chance they will hear. themselves. and if they hear themselves they might. think about it for a day or two except. i've listed four kinds of idiots in the. book uh there is one kind of idiot you. cannot defuse like that and i will just. leave it to how you can defuse it. because otherwise you won't buy the book.

but. the thing to remember is that. there is an idiot in us i mean i. am an idiot uh a recovering one but. still an idiot because there are things. that come across uh. my path and i realized what i was doing. was wrong like one of the things that. i've been thinking about lately is. when i was a kid i was i was in the car. with my uncle and we were going i don't. know we were going somewhere and we. stopped at the traffic signal and there. was a beggar.

about my age who came and asked for. money. and uh my uncle shoot him away and then. later he. told me that uh this is all a syndicate. it's a syndicate they earn a lot of. money and things like that now whether. it was true or not true. what happens is as a kid i have been. desensitized to poverty. now i'm growing up thinking about. poverty a certain way and i'm not. getting as affected by it so then i have. to unlearn that to be able to.

look at society in a different way and. help people a bit more yeah than what. i'm currently doing. my minuscule efforts are not enough. and maybe actively i can change so. that's what i've been thinking about so. i've been an idiot thinking about it a. certain way and then i. that because i've been questioning the. things that i do. i can change so that's how you defuse an. idiot in you that's the most important. thing that's that's so good like i love. the answer as well and in fact i love.

the example because we all have been. grown up like while growing up there has. been certain incidents. which has made us. very insensitive towards certain issues. right true and they are real issues. which we should be thinking about and. caring about but because we have that. certain analogy which our parents gave. us or someone else in our society gave. us we feel oh this is the way it is yeah. thanks man thanks a lot i love this. conversation i'm. i'm hoping that everyone else loved it. too well. you know.

rarely this happened in fact this is. happening for the first time that we. have gotten somebody okay who i didn't. know about. until i did some research on amazon and. found out a book i didn't know about. this guy and i found out this book and i. loved so much that i actually put. constant effort to find this man and. call him here to just talk about it. because there's a reason. the book he has written. it's not like just like every other book.

it's gonna give you an understanding of. indians. at heart okay like why are we following. certain things why are we doing certain. things if you want to become a marketer. you need to need you need to learn this. book and you need to find this and read. it okay if you are a business person an. entrepreneur you need to buy this book. right now because you will understand. certain religions you'll understand how. tolerant or intolerant all of us are why. are certain people tagged as idiots and. who are these idiots how can you avoid.
