Kylie & Jen Hamilton’s NSFW Guide to Labor, Messy Divorces & Tight End 101 w/ Cyrus Veyssi | Ep. 84
If you have a bowel movement while. pushing, are they going to give you a. second. to wipe clean? >> My favorite thing to do is to be a poop. ninja. And it's the one thing I will lie. about. If you say, "Am I pooping?" I'll. say, "I am pooping.". >> What makes for the best tight end? Squats and a good. >> Yeah, squats and a good trainer. >> Now, do you know who the best tight end. is in football? >> Not your Not your. >> It's not my husband. He was an offensive. lineman. >> your brother-in-law. >> Yes, it is.
>> Travis. >> I found out about some nefarious things. that the man was doing behind my back. >> How'd you find out? >> I'm not going to be mad that you try to. bite me. >> Have you been bitten? >> After You know they try sometimes. Just. you're you're just in this feral state. >> Not going to lie, four kids sounds like. a great idea. until this time of year comes around. A week and a half ago, someone got a. stuffy nose and a raspy voice.
And now, like dominoes, one [music] after the other. >> [clears throat]. >> They got me, too. It's going great. Sometimes you just got to rally. Let's get this podcast started. >> [music]. >> Welcome back to a brand new episode of. New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, a Wave Original brought to you by. Invisalign. I'm your host, Kylie Kelce. In need of new Eagle superstitions to. try because what I'm doing clearly isn't.
cutting it. Maybe we'll get a new spoon. The best. fall treat is 100% definitely, without a. doubt, a caramel apple. Now, if you ask me in November, I'm going to say cold pumpkin pie in the. morning with your coffee. Cold. And mom. of four, with three more Halloween. costumes to figure out, there is a. chance. that Fin ends up being what she would. refer to as a dog.
Because I have a puppy dog costume that. Wyatt has worn. I think Benny has worn. But maybe I'm wrong. But I feel like Finn it's I mean even. this morning she went up to the sliding. door and was smacking the door going dog. dog because the dogs were outside. standing on the other side of the glass. So I think that feels good. Um am I going to participate in dressing.
up? Probably not. I do kind of want to get one of those. cute little headbands that has little. witches hat on it cuz like my kids. already think I'm a witch. Coming up on today's episode we have a. brand new NFL correspondent stopping by. to tell us everything we could possibly. need to know about football. And absolutely nails it. Flawless beats. Just. stunning. And Broadway. That's right. From a Tik Tok shout out.
to the podcast. It's Cyrus Veasey. I can't wait for you guys to see that. After that I'm going to be joined by one. of the most requested NGL guests of all. time. She's the hilarious and brilliant. labor and delivery nurse. Angels on. earth you already know that. Bestselling. author. and content creator Jen Hamilton. I'm so excited. And most importantly we talked her into. coming to Philadelphia. But first let's. get right into it and start things off.
with doom scroll. Doom scroll of the. week is brought to you today by. Invisalign. First up a new prank trend. just dropped where people are calling. their moms to ask if they were in the. delivery room when they were born. Queen. Emma the clip please. >> Hello. Hello. Hi. >> What are you doing? >> I'm on an exchange. Um I need your help quickly. Um. >> So, I'm filling out a form for uni. >> Yeah. >> But, like it's for my emergency. contacts, but it's a question for you.
>> Um. >> Um. It wants to know if you were in the. delivery room, um, the day I was born. >> [snorts]. >> What? >> Were you in the delivery room the day I. was born? >> No, I wasn't. What do I put now? Was I in the delivery room the day you. were born? >> Yeah. >> What is that is the most stupidest. question I've ever heard. Did I.
just. bend over in the delivery room, >> [laughter]. >> you know, doors, so my feet were out out and my ass was. in? And I just gave birth like. taking a or something? What the. What? >> [laughter]. >> What kind of question is that? >> [laughter]. [crying]. >> Oh God. Oh my God.
Okay. Oh God. Okay, her response to this was perfect. Uh. The fact that her initial answer was. "No." Insane and I love it. I love every. second of this. Queen Emma wants to know if I could see. my daughter is pulling this prank on me. I think my daughters are going to have a. great time pulling pranks on me because. I'm not opposed to it. You want to test out your humor, you.
want to test run it on me, you want to you want to see what works, what lands, and what doesn't, a thousand. percent, bring it. I mean, the you better you better be. careful what you're going to get back. Maybe we hit them with a No, you're. adopted. You know? And they're going to be like, but I. But I'm dad's twin. So, explain that.
Let's flip the script here. Would I do. this to little Elise? No, I would not. No, I wouldn't. You want to know why? That woman's been through enough. She has She has been through enough. First of all, she had to raise me. Poor thing. And I wasn't even that difficult. You know what was difficult? Carrying. around a 12 lb 1 oz baby at 5 ft 2, a. whopping 5 ft 2. She couldn't touch her belly button. How. many times do I have to say it? People.
thought she was having twins and she. couldn't touch her belly button. We're. going to leave that woman alone. And. lastly, this mom just wanted to take a. simple shower. and this is what she gets. Queen of the clip, please. >> I get out of the shower and my daughter, Malia. I said, "Oh, what kind of paper have you. got there, Malia?". >> Scissors. There are scissors and strips. of paper all over the floor. Oh, no. What kind of paper is it?
>> It's definitely not paper. >> I'm so sorry. Okay, excuse me? What? >> Love them. >> For audio listeners and. um. our real ones that are checking in on. our video platforms, these are slatted. shades, it seems. Like those shades that you sort of like. you do the thing to close them up and. they just sort of like shh shh shh. like there's a I can hear it distinctly. in my ears the noise that these shades. made. Um.
This little girl got out of bed, got. herself a pair of scissors. and. cut them. about a third of the way up. I have. approached instances where our home has. been permanently impacted. I. do my best not to freak out. A good. example is the one time. that I believe it was Wyatt was in our.
kitchen. quietly playing under there's this. little jet out where we have three. stools. It's like a little breakfast. bar. And she was quietly playing underneath. and often times the girls will do like. shop underneath and ice cream store and. restaurant and that's their little. storefront. And you just have to scoot the stools. and you know it's happening cuz you're. and the stools are moving in the. kitchen.
Um. she had taken a Sharpie. and drawn. when I tell you. all over the bottom of the cabinet. Not the bottom of the cab not the top, not the bottom of the counter, the. bottom of the cabinet. So, if you sat. down in the kitchen on the little seat. that was in there. it was like you were.
I don't know, at a at an an art museum. Some other instances. of the children wrecking things. permanently. Oh. Mhm. One of our children snapped the end off. of our dining room table. Yeah. Oh, we've busted lamps cuz I told. them not to like you can't hang on a. lamp. Trying to think of what the most. Oh. Oh my god. Let me tell you. Oh god. Oh my god. Oh my god. I feel like I.
repressed this so that Do you see the. the react I'm having a physical. reaction? You know who hates to see my kids. coming? A screen door. Oh my god. Oh my god. We were getting a door. replaced. It is one of our most. frequently accessed doors in our house. The girls use it to go in and out. The. dogs use it to go in and out. It is a. door that we were like, this is a great. investment to switch out this door.
Um. So of course the door is a sliding door. It comes with this beautiful new screen. door. I'm so excited cuz it's in the. kitchen and I'm going to get a cross. breeze and fresh air and it's amazing. The day before two days before this door. is in or two days after this door is. installed, the girls were painting. um these little clay unicorns. The next. morning.
they picked them up to play with them, which I explained is not the purpose of. art. And as I am making breakfast. one of them, who will not be named, puts the unicorn horn into the screen. door. and drags it down. like a box cutter. I mean that sliced like butter.
And naturally. our Irish Wolfhound thought. a dog door. So then our screen door that was sliced. about I don't know, two feet from a. unicorn horn, just a clean split. I. still could have used it. I still could. have used it. I could have patched that. sucker. I could have. But when a Wolfhound shoves their head.
through it and then realizes that if. they just get a foot in. then maybe it'll open more and then. they're right. Our three-day-old screen door. was no longer viable. Screen doors are. now. I believe it is 0 for 3 against the. Kelsey girls. All right, that's it for. Doom Scroll brought to you by. Invisalign. Next up, it's happening. Oh. my god, I'm so excited for this. But you. guys don't even know we already started. cuz we couldn't help ourselves. The real.
ones will remember. I recently got. possibly the best shout-out ever from a. very funny TikTok creator. They somehow knew who I was but not my. husband or my brother-in-law. >> No. >> I. >> No shade. >> I saw that. >> No shade. Genuinely, I am I am it's like. the blind leading the blind right now. for me and I'm learning and I'm. committed, but I have so many questions. >> Please welcome our new NFL. correspondent, Cyrus Spencer. >> [laughter]. >> Hi everyone. I'm so excited to be here.
>> Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to have you. Our NGL NFL correspondent segment is. brought to you today by Visa, the most. trusted way to pay for football fans. everywhere. >> Guys, I wore I wore this. >> Yes, you did. Sacrilegious, but I like. it. >> Which I didn't know that. >> But we can agree. But I don't even know what we can agree. on. >> on? I agree. >> What can we agree on? >> We don't. >> We don't like. >> the Cowboys. >> Yeah, we don't.
>> They're so uh those those Cowboys ride. off into off a cliff. >> Yes. >> Which Which country? Which city are. they? >> Dallas. They're the Dallas Cowboys. >> Oh, well, that makes sense. That makes sense. Why Sometimes it's. like the the like Minneapolis like. >> Yeah. >> ice cream cup Like I. that the the the Dallas Wait, does that. Do they have two teams? >> No, you're thinking of the Houston. Texans. Two teams in Texas. Here's the. Texans. >> Texans. Sorry, was their copywriter just.
lazy that day? >> Correct. I mean, to be fair, the Cowboys are labeled America's Team. That was literally a marketing It was a. marketing effort that they put out. >> Yuck. >> Right? >> Okay, so we're on the same page there. >> Yes. Um for those of you who are our. audio listeners, um Sirius is wearing a. Giants shirt. >> I'm wearing a Giants. This is also. >> From your boyfriend. >> Smells like boy. Yeah, no, it not like.
it like I think he's worn this quite a. bit every Sunday. It's it's I we have. So, we've got the Patriots on my. brother's side. We've got the Giants. And now my favorite team, the Eagles. The Philadelphia Eagles. Don't tell my folks. >> Mhm. No, we're not going to tell him. until you show up. >> Is it because the players don't like. each other? Like, what's the tea? >> Um we are in the same division. So, we. are in the NFC East.
And so that is comprised of four teams. That is the Philadelphia Eagles, the. Giants, the Cowboys, and the Commanders, the Washington Commanders. >> So, it's like the Ivy League for. football. >> Yes. And because we all play each other. twice a year, home and away, it makes it. for significantly more um concentrated. competition. >> So, I would not go to. a match, um a game with this on in.
Philly. >> That is correct. >> Got it. >> Yeah. It'd be a diva down situation. >> Very much so. >> Okay, got it, got it. I'm aligned. Okay. >> That's the whole Remember when I said if. you come to Philly and you don't think. that you felt welcome, that it's because. you were undeserving. >> We're a Giants You're wearing a Ralph. Lauren Giants vintage sweater. >> of our kindness. >> [clears throat]. >> Oh, interesting. Okay. And vice versa. >> Correct. Absolutely.
>> Totally. But then why would you want to. go to Jersey anyway, you know? I'm. kidding. Love Jersey. Is MetLife in. Jersey? Is that where they play? >> It is in Jersey. >> Okay. Okay, got it. Okay, got it. >> the Giants and the Jets play at the same. stadium. They both play at MetLife. >> Which one is the Jets? >> The Jets is the green ones. >> Okay, but Kylie, I'm not crazy. There is. so much to learn. >> So much. And I really think that maybe you should. come back on a regular basis and ask all. of the questions that you come up with.
so that we can dive in cuz again, like I. said when we first signed on, I'm. concerned about the fact that if you. have all these questions, someone else. also has these questions. >> But nobody gives me an answer I. understand. Like you are giving me an. answer that I understand. Like I I'm not. even I was like how when you audition. for a position if you're like quarter. whatever and then defense, where do you. have like how do you have to study that. in college? And it's recently been WWE. I feel like I'm watching lioness on the.
field. Everyone's just getting injured. I'm like what is going Is that no Is. that normally what's happening? >> No. I feel like there's been an absurd. number of injuries this year. >> And to like the big players. Like the. really like the. the. big player. >> Barkley is week to week. Tell Mike that. >> Totally. >> Tell Mike that. >> Saquon Barkley. >> He's He's. He's probably very upset about Saquon. He should be cuz we took him. >> Oh, he's on this one. Oh, he got traded.
He they traded? This happened this week? >> No, no, no. Two years ago, but then we. took him and then won a Super Bowl. >> Got it. Got it. Got it. >> another thing about Philadelphia. We'll never let you live it down. Every. single time I see anyone who's like a. Giants fan or they say to me like go. Giants I will look them dead in the eyes. and be like thank you so much for Saquon. Barkley. And it still hurts them to their core. >> I should tell Michael that. So this is. what we've decided to do. You're We're.
going to get Eagles outfits. >> Yes, we are. >> Maybe you get Kylie you know what we. should do? We should call. um. >> Kristen U check. >> I was going to say Schiaparelli Daniel. Roseberry and have them create like a. like a collection of like Eagles maybe. like a sculpted Eagles corset I could. wear. >> Can I say this one thing? >> Mhm. >> Cuz there's like I'll coach you up for. football. But then I'm going to need your help. >> Oh mama I'll take you to whatever. showrooms you want.
Schiaparelli is Daniel Roseberry at. Schiaparelli is probably one of the. brilliant designers. Really creates art. even in ready-to-wear, right? Cuz. there's couture There's very few couture. houses. Like ready-to-wear is what we. wear it's like what you see when you. walk into like let's say Chanel store. >> this. >> You know right? Yes, you know. Versus. like couture which is specifically made. for the one item it's made for the. client. So there's the couture shows. Schiaparelli Daniel Roseberry is so. brilliant that he creates ready-to-wear. that mimics couture. I'm thinking like a. corset with the Eagles logo embellished.
with some of the beautiful like. embroidery and some of the like. accessories that he does and then we. both wear that. >> [sighs and gasps]. >> Do you know cuz I'm a little bit jaded. with this this kind of you know? I feel. like we can do a little bit better. It would. >> it would people up if I showed up. to the stadium in like that cool of a. game day fit? >> Well you know Michael's a stylist and. this is what he does. He's a private. stylist. My boyfriend. He will He will.
work it out. He will put together. something and something that you feel. comfortable in. You know what I mean? >> Can it match a pair of Chuck Taylors? >> Who? >> A pair of Chucks? >> Is he a designer? What's what's a week Kyle, what's a. >> Converse. Like a Converse Chuck Taylor. >> oh oh, not my lore. Okay, I love. Converses. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we. can do that. >> Okay, so you're going to coach me up on. fashion. >> Yeah. >> I'm going to coach you up on football. >> Yeah, and then we're going to do also a.
get ready with me for a. Phillies for an Eagles game. I'm sorry. >> Thank you. >> Yeah. >> I mean, you can come to a Phillies game, too. >> I Here's the thing. >> that's baseball? >> Okay. They're called the Phillies? >> That's our baseball team. >> You are joking. >> I'm not. >> See, like guys, I'm not making this up. Like it is confusing. Okay, okay. No, but I would love to do that. And I will. come to an I will It'll be my first time. in Philadelphia. And what better way to. like,
you know, lose my. Philly virginity than to go to an Yeah. Oh, yeah, that's better. Than to go to a. an Eagles game. I would love nothing. more. >> I. Okay, so we talked about the team names. >> Yeah. >> earlier about the football teams. But I. do think we should get into just some. rules of the game for any new NFL fans. watching this. >> Okay, do you want to test me or what are. we What are we going to discuss? >> [clears throat]. >> I'm going to start simple. I am going to. test you a little bit. >> Okay.
>> Okay. Can you explain the following? And you can ask me to jump in wherever. you need me. How do you score a touchdown? >> You just You just run your little booty. off to the other side of the. field. >> Correct. I'll actually take that. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah, you have control of the ball. in the end zone. Cross it You have to. cross the plane of the end zone. >> You can't drop it. >> What are the goal posts for? >> The kickers.
For the end when you hit a touchdown, you can you so that the kicker. does their. >> Correct. >> effing job. >> And gets it in through the. 100-mi radius goal post. Like, Mary, I'm. sorry. I feel like I could also maybe do. that. >> Let's try. We should try. >> We should do that. If there was a player. you know who would. help coach me and then I would try. >> Our kicker, Jake Elliott, he's a. delight. >> Love. >> good at his job.
>> Jake. We love Elliott. We're in. >> Let's get Jake. Let's get Jake in on. this. Can you explain what happens when. there's a pick six? >> Kylie, jump in. >> Perfect. >> We need you We need you to jump in. If I. had to If I had to guess, a pick six would be. in my mind, if they're not doing well, the coach will pick six of the best. players and have them take over. >> That would be honestly, maybe that's the. move. When we need a coach shift, it's. it's not that.
>> at all that. >> Do you know what a pick is? Maybe. Okay. >> A pick. >> Pick my favorite eyeliner. >> No. Mhm. No. >> No. Kylie, jump in. >> A pick. A pick is when. there is an interception or the other. team catches the ball when they are on. defense or. uh obtains possession of the ball on. defense. That's a pick. >> So, Kylie, >> So a pick six. >> they just call it an interception? I. would like Pick six. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. >> Pick six is cute. Pick six is like a.
little bit cuter. >> Oh, I can get on board with that then. >> Um what makes for the best tight end? >> [laughter]. >> If I had it my way, um. >> [clears throat]. >> No, it's a best tight end. >> Squats in a good. >> Yeah, squats in a good trainer. I do. think it has to do a bit with like. the physique of it of a of the. man. and perhaps he's hitting his macros and.
I think that it makes him. um in the end. zone be able to. just play well. >> Okay. Kindly jump in. The tight end is a. position on the field. We Now, they want to be able to do two. things really well. >> Okay. >> a person. I mean, it is a person, but. like it's a person on the field. They want to be able to do two things. really well. They want to be able to. catch the ball really well,
and they want to be able to block really. well. Those are the two things that they. want to be able to do really well. I. mean, there's other components of their. job, but that's really boiling it down. to like the bare minimum. >> But they have the most amount of res-. They're like the dance captain for the. team. Like they have the most. responsibility. >> They're very versatile in their. responsibilities. >> Oh. >> Mhm. >> Nothing wrong with being verse. That's. all I'll say. >> We kind of love it. >> that. Okay. >> Now, do you know who the best tight end. is in football?
This is a little bit of a trick. Nope, this is a. >> George. >> a little bit of a trick question. >> There is no best tight end. >> Wrong. Sorry, I have to be direct about this. >> You're. You know this person. This person's. in your. family. Not your Not your. >> It's not my husband. He was an offensive. lineman. >> your brother-in-law. >> Yes, it is.
>> Travis. >> It is Travis. >> He's the best tight end. >> I mean, I'm a little biased, but. honestly, his stats say that we're. correct. >> So he does So he has to catch really. well. >> Yes. >> And he has to. And which one does he like to do better? Do you know? >> Um I would assume that he likes to catch. it, because catching it means that he. ran a really good route, that he was. able to gain possession of the ball, and. typically, what he just was able to hit. a new milestone on is yards after the. catch, which means after he catches the.
ball, he then runs like a bulldozer, like those run clubs, and just I mean it takes a couple people. to take him down. >> How tall is he? >> He is 6'5. How tall is he? Uh 6'5. >> And how tall is your husband? >> 6'3. >> They're not twins. >> They're not twins. My husband is 2 years. older than my brother-in-law. >> Aw, Cal is 2 years older than me. >> It's very sweet. >> It's a great distance. Did he audition. for that role? Like for that play? Like. did he do did he or did they put because.
he was so good, they were like you are. now our tight end. >> So he. uh came into college as a quarterback. And they moved him to tight end because. of his. personal skill set. >> Yes, because he's he's very good. at what he does. And they were right. >> Wow. >> Mhm. >> Travis. >> Travis. >> Trav- I know Travis. I know Travis. And. then in the off season, they can just. kind of like live their best life and.
just do whatever. >> Yes. >> Oh, wow. >> Now, they still train almost I would say. probably minimum 4 days a week. >> Yeah, I feel that. I'm kind of in that. world right now, which is a lot, but for. theater, which is very different, but. also really intense. Like I'm doing. eight shows a week, like it's a lot. >> And a team sport. It really is. It. really is. Um if you guys come to New. York, you should come to the show. >> Done. >> Please. My first my opening night is on.
the 13th, and then my run is through. December 6th. >> Done. >> Have you seen & Juliet on Broadway? >> I have not. I have not. I have a a very. good friend of mine who is my Broadway. cheat. Like she will tell me all the. things. For her bachelorette party, we. went to Six. >> Such a fun one. So fun. This is very similar to that show. So I play and I basically like play. myself in the show. It's lovely. I play.
May who's Juliet's best friend and I'm. like this non-binary beautiful human. discovering life. Maybe 22. I'm 25 now. You never know. I'm 32. So a 22-year-old. I'm like. >> Perfect. I know. We can celebrate 25. together. So I that's the role that I play. It's. amazing. It's really fun. It's very. similar I say if you like Six and you. enjoyed Six it's a very similar type of. like an energy. It's a musical. It's. fun. It's also very kids like it's it's. kid-friendly. There's. It's like Michael's nieces are like 12. and 9 and they're going to come see the.
show again. They've already seen it and. they loved it. So maybe your young'uns. are a little too young but I feel like. you would really love it. It's a great. show. >> I'm there. >> Okay. You just let me know. >> there. Um. I cannot thank you enough for stopping. by. >> Thank you so much for having me. This is. my See this is my safe space. I love. your platform. I think it's a very. I think you also. when we talk about it but I just think. you very unequivocally stand by what you. say and that is very it's just doing a.
lot of good. Like there's like I cannot. tell you even in that one interaction. that we've had I had had I got thousands. of messages from people about us about. that moment and being like this is. exactly what we need. This is the bridge. that we need to cross. Like it's really. wonderful. It really is. >> I just know that you are. >> Well, I just love that your content. like is light-hearted but is like making. a statement and and and fun and funny.
and you are you're really like it's a. joy to watch. >> Oh, thank you. >> your dad is hilarious. >> He's the best. He's the star. >> Well, your NFL takes are unmatched and. the real ones can check you out on. Broadway like you were saying on October. 13th through December 6th and Juliet. >> Yeah. >> [snorts]. >> Come see me. I'm going to go see it, so. you guys should, too. >> We love that. >> Thank you so much for having me. >> That was our first ever NFL. correspondent drop-in brought to you. today by Visa. Jen Hamilton is coming. up. This football season, whether you're.
buying tickets, booking travel, or. shopping for team gear, protect your. pocket with Visa. Tapping to pay without. checking which card? Not a pro move. Tapping to pay with Visa? That's a pro move. Visa runs more than. 500 security checks to help identify. fraud before transactions are approved, so you can focus your defensive energy. on other things, like defending Philly. at a New York sports bar. >> [snorts]. >> Cheese. For my audio listeners, I'm. currently smiling my biggest possible. smile right now. because thanks to Invisalign aligners, I. actually enjoy seeing her. Look at her. She's a solid smile, and I use. Invisalign to get her. I had braces, and. after I finished my treatment, I may or. may not have been irresponsible and did. not wear my retainers properly, and. might have gotten them eaten by the dog, and might have thrown them out a couple. times, and might have just forgotten about.
them. And you know what that means? Yeah, that's right. My teeth shifted. because I wasn't ready to be. held responsible. But in college, I. decided to do something about it, aka. get Invisalign aligners because they're. the number one doctor-recommended clear. aligner brand for teeth straightening. And I wanted to actually look in the. mirror and feel confident. I think it's. one of the most beautiful things that. you can possibly do is show a full teeth. smile. And now I get to do that and feel. confident in my smile. If you're where I. was and ready to do something for.
yourself and your smile, Invisalign. treatment could be the start of your own. confidence journey. And you can bet your. bottom dollar I wear my retainers now. every night. My kids actually call of in. teeth, and they say, "Did you put your. teeth in? Are your teeth in there?" So, there's that. You can get your dream. smile, too, in as little as 6 months. Don't wait, invest in you, and find your. local Invisalign doctor today. She's a. literal Earth Angel, otherwise known as. a labor and delivery nurse. She's the. hilarious New York Times best-selling. author of Birth Vibes, one of the.
Rolling Stones top 25 most influential. creators of 2026, a fellow mom, the. embodiment of women supporting women, and now she's officially, not going to. lie, Jen Hamilton. Welcome to the show. >> Hi, Kylie. How's it going? >> Oh my gosh, this is so exciting. I have. been a fan of you for a very long time, for many reasons. Let's see, the labor. and delivery aspect of it, the chickens, the statements that you make that don't. need a whole lot of words. >> Yeah. >> I love it. I love all of it. This is.
incredible, and also, you are just. having. dare I say, like, a. I don't want to say glow cuz I think you. were a hot as. >> when I found you. But, you are just you're I'll say. thriving. >> Well, thank you. >> Do you think? >> Like, I've lost 200 lb. I didn't know. that if you knew that. 200 lb of man. >> Yeah. >> of man, and then you just feel so. liberated you know? >> pounds. The worst kind of pounds.
>> Yeah, for sure. Yeah. So, I feel I feel. liberated. I feel. I feel so much better. I did cry for. like a month straight, and then I woke. up, and I was like, "Maybe I should not do that anymore.". And then I just was like, "I'm going to. live my life, because now I get to have. my life, you know?". >> Yes. >> Which is wonderful. >> Uninterrupted. >> Uninterrupted, by noise. >> Ugh, yikes. Ew. Oh, apparently the rest of the world. couldn't wait for us to meet, either. You are one of our most requested guests.
since we started Not Going to Lie. Literally, episode 1 to now, this is a. real comment on last week's episode. Could we please get a Jen Hamilton and. Kylie collaboration? Um, we have birth story These are all. the comments on it. This, I fear the. internet would break. That would be. amazing, so much fun. I love it. I can. hear Kylie on tits in the wind. >> [laughter]. >> Yes, of course. Yes. >> Now, can you please explain tits in the. wind? >> Yeah, so Okay, so I wrote a book about. birth. And when I started writing it, I.
think that. you know, like publishers and editors. and stuff are expecting this. professional book, obviously, right? We're professional. Not. So, I uh. started writing the book, and I wrote it. how I talk, how I talk to my patients, how I talk in real life. And I have this. book coach. So, what I would do is like. I would write a chapter, and I would. send it to her, and she would like edit. it for grammar and stuff. And so, in the. first chapter, I say, instead of my. patient getting naked, I say tits in the. wind, you know? Cuz I feel like it gives.
a new, you know, it's like a good. visual, you know, they're just swaying. They're just swaying in the wind. >> [laughter]. >> Okay? And uh so, I sent it to her, and. then I got back her uh editing, and it. was she crossed it out and put naked. And I was like, no, no, no, I don't. think you understand. I don't think I. don't think you understand. This is how. we're saying it. So, they let me be. awesome in my own voice in Birth Vibes. So, uh that's where it came from, and. then I was on the Kelly Clarkson Show, and then I did say nipples in the wind.
>> I didn't see that. I didn't know if tits. was a good thing to say on. >> Sure, but nipples is allowed. >> Nipples. >> Anatomically, [clears throat] that is a. part of your body. >> Yeah. Yes. >> And and my agent Noah made me promise. that I would not say blow your load. early. That's what I'd always say, too. When Okay, you think about preparing for. maybe an unmedicated birth, okay? You. learn all of your all of the things you. need to know about how to cope in labor, okay? People get into labor, and they. get excited to use those coping. strategies, and I say, don't blow your.
load early, you know? You don't want to. use your load of strategies before you. really need them. And then your load's. done. >> God, what were you thinking? Crazy. Wow, you sickos. Get your minds. out of the gutter. >> I couldn't say that on Kelly Clarkson, but I feel like I could say it to you. >> A thousand percent you can say that. >> I can say it to Kylie Jenner and not. >> [laughter]. >> Oh, we are. an open book over here. >> We are. >> An open book. Um well, as one of my.
favorite TikTok follows, I figured we'd. start with a special Jen Hamilton. version of our segment doom scroll of. the week to educate anyone who hasn't. had the joy of your TikToks in their. feed yet. >> Okay. >> First up, you posted a video from an. airplane recently that has 62 million. views. >> Yeah. >> I'm going to let the clip do the rest. >> Okay. >> The man sitting behind my sister. accidentally pulled her hair and said, "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for pulling. your hair." I said, "Oh, don't worry.
She likes that.". Can you confirm? >> [laughter]. >> Julie, you like that? She said, "Sure." Have you been. embarrassing Julie her whole life? >> Um once we. >> She looked away. >> She looked away. >> I do like to say crazy stuff in front of. people, you know? >> Why? >> Anyway, um. >> the video hit his for you page before we. even landed. [laughter]. >> Can you see how devastated she is? >> No. >> Yeah. >> No.
Oh, no. Okay. Okay, break this story down for me. >> Yeah. >> You post a TikTok of a funny interaction. you have with a random man on an. airplane. >> Yes. >> And before you land, he sees the TikTok. >> Yes. >> What does he say? >> What did he say? I feel like he just. reached around. >> Oh, he just showed you. >> He just showed us. >> it speak for itself. >> Yes, cuz he knew what he knew what we. knew when Yeah. And so Yeah, I thought.
it was freaking hilarious. But I know. that is probably embarrassing for my. sister. >> Julie Julie. >> She doesn't care now. >> She's your sister. So she knew what was. coming. Is she older or younger? >> Younger, 5 years younger. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Well, I mean, what a fun time. Um next up, something else we have in. common. We both use the phrase raw. dogging. >> Mhm. >> Perhaps sometimes in socially. inappropriate situations, but. >> need to make it like a thing. Cuz I. think it's it can be used in so many. different contexts. >> Thank you for acknowledging that because.
we jokingly around here, and by jokingly. I mean seriously, tell people that we. are not professional. >> Right. >> unprofessional in this podcast space. And um so much so that whenever we start. a record, if we have not gone through. the rundown ahead of time, Emma will say. to me, "We raw dogging it?" And I'll. say, "Yep, we're raw dogging it." And. then we just wing it. >> Yeah, and I think that's I think that. that's when you get your best your best. stuff, you know? >> I mean, sometimes it makes for more fun.
>> Let's see the clip of you talking about. raw dogging it. >> See, to me, raw dogging is is. multifaceted, you know? It can mean many. things. And in that context, I just mean. like taking the day as it comes, you. know? Taking everything. natu- naturally. Needing no protection. from what. is is to come. Is. needing.
Nothing wrong with it. Nothing wrong. with either context. I just wanted to. say, "I'm not Okay. >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> This is an outstanding explanation. >> Yeah. And I think it also, you know, everyone should use protection when. they're use when we're talking about raw. dogging in a different way. You know, maybe maybe we don't. >> intention of the term raw dogging. >> Probably not the best. >> No. >> We unless you know. >> Unless unless. you're trying to create new life.
>> Yeah. Raw dog. >> Yeah. >> is so raw dog the out of it. And. then marinate. I don't know. >> Marinate legs up. >> Terms. >> Food terms. >> I also agree with that in the context of. like labor and delivery cuz you could. get a you could get a story about a. patient saying like oh my gosh she's so. mean. Well. >> Oh yeah. >> It could also be that she's scared. You. know what I'm saying? >> Yeah. >> sometimes going in with like. not even just like raw dogging, like not. knowing what's happening ahead of time, but like letting it go. You know,
whatever people say to you, let those. preconceived notions go and then you can. have your own experience. >> Yeah. You got a lot of mean. >> I mean unintentionally mean. Like I'm. not going to I'm not going to be mad. that you try to bite me, you know? >> Um have you been bitten? >> I You know they try sometimes. Just. you're you're just in this feral state. You're like I need to try something. else. Maybe biting would work, you know? The craziest one that I had was this. poor sweet girl had no time to get an. epidural. And that was her plan, okay?
She just rolled in ready to ready to. birth. >> Mhm. >> And uh. to cope she had her friend over here. one headlock. She had her nurse over here, other. headlock. >> Oh. >> And then just like, you know, >> Yeah. >> It's a little. >> It's a little different than the comb. technique. >> Yeah, it it was different, but it. helped, you know? >> Uh last clip is a throwback here, a. topic I really want to ask you about. >> Oh. >> Hi, I'm a labor and delivery nurse and I.
want to tell you the most embarrassing. thing that I did today. My sweet patient. was pushing out her baby and I asked if. I could help her by accommodating any of. her musical needs. Like what do you want. to listen to, girlfriend? Let's have. some hype music. And she requested that. I [music] find spy music. >> Oh. >> I mean a little quirky, but okay. I can. definitely help you out, girlfriend. So, I get out my Amazon music and I'm like, Mission Impossible, like James Bond. What are we going with?
Yeah. >> No, she said um she said spa music. >> Oh. >> The thing about me is like whatever you. want to do, I want to do. I'm going to. match your energy and we're going to do. it together and I'm going to be so cool. with it, right? Like there were I had a. girl that played Twinkle Twinkle Little. Star for 12 hours and I was like, I love this song. so much. You know, like I. Did I? No, but I want you to feel. comfortable. Yeah, and supported and.
like. I can't wait to hear it again. That's. what I would say. You know, that's the only song she. played for 12 hours of my shift. together. It was just on a loop. Just like and not not even like an. orchestral version, but like. like like little kids. >> Oh, no. >> You know, like it was played on one of. those little the little. You know. Yeah. >> No. >> Yeah, but you know what? That's what she. needed and. and everyone was healthy. Everyone was. healthy and great and so I say play.
more. >> So, Twinkle Twinkle That Star, huh? >> As someone who didn't have birth. playlists, is there any birth playlist. that you've heard where you thought to. yourself, you nailed this and what are the songs. that did that? >> Yeah, I see the ones that work the best. are like the. really hardcore. either like uh screamo rock or um. like bad like Beyoncé Lemonade or.
Meg the Stallion. >> Mhm. >> uh. or like really cussy rap. >> Yeah. >> You know? Because so many people bring. in a playlist that's like Kumbaya, you. know, the the the rain the rain sticks, you know? Do you listen to rain sticks on a normal. day? No. Don't like I need. I understand you want to relax, but also. you need to be a you need to be a bad. >> You need to like game face it. >> Yes, exactly. Like like locker room,
like let's you know, like that's what we. need. And so I find the people who, you. know, you can have that playlist for if. you feel like you need to chill the F. out, but. >> Maybe for your epidural nap. >> Yes, epidural nap, nice white noise or. whatever, but when we get down into it, we need we need Meg. >> We need game time. >> Yeah, exactly. >> That makes so much sense. Okay. Well, since we're talking about birth. playlist, I figured we might as well get. into everything else about birth as if. we haven't already. with a segment we call what to expect. when you've already expected.
>> Perfect. >> You've technically done this thousands. of times, right? You've given advice on. >> Given it you know, given advice, talked. people through it, but done it only two. times, you know? >> You say only. >> Yeah. >> I think as soon as you've done it once, it's like holy. >> into the club. >> Yeah. For this special edition, I'm going to. ask you all the labor and delivery. questions sent in by the NGL real ones. >> Can't wait. >> Uh but first I have a couple of my own. >> Okay, perfect. >> Okay. Uh first, have you ever seen a dad. bring a full-size commercial fan into.
the maternity ward. for himself? >> This This sounds personal. >> It is. I have not. I've seen interesting. >> Interesting. >> Yeah, I've seen a dad bring a 55-in. TV. >> No, you didn't. >> from Best Buy. >> No, you didn't. >> No, you didn't. >> Because his gaming system would not hook. up to the earth. >> No, you didn't. >> So went to Best Buy. >> Jen. >> and. >> No. And then Jen. >> He got it out, it was cracked down the. middle.
>> And that is that. >> Yes. >> That is the universe and the Lord. working overtime. >> Yes. >> Wow. >> I haven't seen a fan. That's. >> New? >> Yeah. How did Jason sleep at the hospital? Like, how did he. >> Um, not comfortably. He made it a point. to tell me. >> Oh, I bet he did. I bet he was real. uncomfortable for baby. >> he. I always like joke around, like I always. bust his balls. He is such a great.
support person, and the problem is is. that I I like mess with him so often and. like kind of like take jabs so often. that I think he still is not sure. whether or not I'm telling the truth. every time. I'm like, "He's the best. support person.". You know, this brings me to another. point. How do you feel about what I call. the cooking demo. mirror or the Home Ec mirror? >> The one where we where we have it at the. end of the thing and you can like look? >> Yeah. >> I love it. I love it. But, when I ask.
people, "Do you want a mirror?" It's. either a hell yes or a hell no. And. mostly hell no. Like, offended that I. even would ask that. That would be me. That would be me. >> [laughter]. >> A thousand percent. Yeah. When they. showed me that there was what I call the. Home Ec mirror, cuz it was always like. the cooking demonstrations in Home Ec, where like the mirror is above the table. and I'm like. Got Guys, I don't I don't want to see. >> Right. >> the destruction of my undercarriage, okay? My lady bits.
>> Yeah. >> between. I don't want to watch it happen. No. >> Yeah. >> [clears throat]. >> The other thing that I I get a lot of is. like people don't want to see. uh also like their their grooming or. lack thereof. People are so embarrassed. of their pubes and stuff. There would. There was one time that I I got so. excited cuz I could start to see the. baby's head. I was like, "There's so. much hair." And she's like, "So sorry. I forgot to shave.". [laughter]. I was like, "NO, NO, NO. NOT YOUR HAIR. YOUR BABY'S HAIR." YEAH, I got excited.
>> Like, let's be real. >> Yeah. >> When you are 9 months pregnant, you have. this big old belly. I was able to prep because I was induced. all four times. Everyone had to be. evicted. >> Uh-huh. >> I have explained it to my husband what's. it what was. the most the most. death-defying act I've ever had to. partake in. Taking a razor uh-huh. blindly.
upside down. >> Feeling. >> Yeah. Keep that in. >> Feeling with one hand and shaving with. the. >> Yes. >> I wrote in my book that I look like Joe. Dirt down there. Business in the front, party in the back. Okay? Because. >> [laughter]. >> cuz I could I could only reach a certain. amount without. >> want us to do? >> I know. >> Now, the best part is. >> Whatever my butt hole look like is none. of my business. >> I will tell I will tell you. as someone who has now given birth four.
times, it very much feels to me like all. bets are off. >> Yeah. >> If I walked in to an office and they. were like. head to toe. this is what's you need to get tits in. the wind. >> Tits in the wind. >> And we're doing this, I'd be like. my fate is now in your hands. >> Mhm. >> You are responsible for me. >> Yeah. >> And I trust you. >> Mhm. >> And then I do it. >> Yeah. >> And I wouldn't ask any questions and I. wouldn't be embarrassed cuz they got to.
come out somehow. >> That's exactly right. >> They got to come out. >> I do love the moment when people get rid. of that like uh, you know? I feel like. that's when the power comes out. Yeah. I. had a girl one time who. she had like five visitors in there and. they were all like her husband's family. which I. I. am always like going to get them to. leave, you know? Like I can kick them. out. Um but she was so like modest and. didn't want to you know show anything. >> that can be like really like impeding.
your progress too cuz you're not feeling. relaxed. >> But there was a moment where she just. took it all off. >> Yeah, she did. Titties in the wind. >> swinging, >> Yes. >> And that was the moment that she needed. to be able And then her father-in-law. was like, "They leave themselves." You. know what I'm saying? Like they. >> They show themselves out. >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> I feel like everyone should have that. moment. Make Make other people. uncomfortable and then they will, you. know, leave you alone. >> I don't really. I don't I'm going to say it cuz I don't.
I don't know that you can technically. say it because you're uh the best of the. best support people. >> Your husband's family should not be in. there. >> No, I 100% agree. >> no reason that your husband's family. should be looking at your hidden temple. I'm out. I don't I don't want it. I. don't want I know. You're not going to I. always say like that's staring into my. soul. >> Yeah. >> want you to stare into my soul. I barely. wanted my husband to stare into my soul. when I was giving birth. Do you think I.
want you Do you think I want to look at. you every time I look at you now from. now until the end of time to think to. myself, "You've seen my cooter.". >> directly at you. >> you seen my cooter, you've seen it. stretched. >> Yeah. >> to fit out a human being. >> Yeah. >> I've seen when the when the NASCAR pit. crew. fills into the room. >> Yes. >> because it's go time. I mean, you're. like teeth chattering. You're like. >> Uh-huh. >> the pressure in my rectum. I can't stop. >> 2 L in your. >> Yeah, I can't stop what's coming. The.
train is coming. The train has left the. station. >> Yeah, it's coming. >> Um when that moment hits, >> Mhm. >> you need all the room They need all the. room that they can get. I mean, >> Yeah. >> I got three people down. in the in the. >> in the splash zone. >> I [laughter] got I got at least two. nurses. You got the nurses who are over. to receive baby, >> Yeah. I mean. >> It's a lot going on. >> There's a lot going on. Next question, the first thing I said when my youngest. was born was.
um. that's another Kelsey. What's the funniest thing you can. remember a mom and dad saying when they. first saw their child? >> Um let's see. Oh. [laughter]. I had a dad say, "My lord, a snapping. turtle.". >> [laughter]. >> It was like. >> I'm sorry, what? >> It was so quiet the whole time and. >> [laughter]. >> and that's what he said and I was like.
Alan, I don't know. >> [laughter]. >> Yeah. >> What? >> I also had a dad that like was trying to. be um. encouraging while his lady was pushing. and he ran out of things to say. >> Of course he did. >> And he said "Kachow.". >> [laughter]. >> Like Lightning McQueen? >> I was like, "I like it. I like it.". >> Yeah. >> [laughter]. >> Oh god, I will say during during my. first labor we had not decided on a. middle name and my husband was like, "I'm going to go down there." Our OB was. like, "You want to come down here? You.
can help like get her out." And I was. like, "No, you're not. You're not doing. that. You're staying right where you're. staying at my shoulder. That's this is. where you stay." And he was like, "Nah, I think I'm going down there." And I was. like, "I think the you are not.". [laughter]. >> Did you let him? >> And I said, "If you want to go down. there, you have to tell me right now. what's her middle name?" And he said, "What's it between?" And I said, I think. it was like Anne and Elizabeth or. something. My mom's name is Elizabeth so. he was like, "Elizabeth." And I was like. "I can't save you now. Go take a peek.
Like do what you got to do." Yeah. >> Yeah, I also tell people after you have. your baby. don't look down there. Like for a very. long time. I remember taking a hand. mirror down there like. >> you do that? >> just was curiosity. >> No. >> Curiosity killed the cat. >> [laughter]. >> Ooh. >> Yeah. Because. All right, have you seen the show. Stranger Things? >> Yes, I have. >> Okay, it was like that. Like the upside. down. Like a little dark, a little.
mysterious, a little gooby looking, and. then like unfamiliar, you know? Like. familiar but not, you know? >> Yeah, she looked She looked cute. >> She didn't look cute. >> You know what? Sometimes. she's not cute. >> Yeah. >> I would say it's after pushing. >> She comes back. >> She does. >> You know, she bounces back. >> She does. Okay, now these next ones are. from the real ones. >> Okay, I can't wait. >> From our listeners. So, let's rapid to. medium this. First question was a very, very common ask. If you have a bowel. movement while pushing, are they going.
to give you a second. to wipe clean? >> My favorite thing to do is to be a poop. ninja, okay? >> I want you to not even know, okay? So, if you And it's the one thing I will lie. about. If you say, "Am I pooping?" I'll. say, "I am pooping.". >> [laughter]. >> It is me. Okay? >> That's. me. >> Yeah. I'm so excited for your baby that I'm. literally [laughter] my pants. right now.
So, [laughter and gasps]. excuse me for a moment, you know? >> [laughter]. >> So, what I'll do is I will We have like. baby wipes in there. >> Yeah. >> And I'll just so quick you don't even. see it. [laughter] I just. you know? And I also get a Ziploc bag. I. have I keep a Ziploc bag of turds, okay? So, I will put it in the Ziploc bag. >> your face.
>> seal it up so. >> no smell. There's There's no evidence. >> But like if somebody is watching on the. mirror and they literally see. >> Yeah. >> that they're taking a. >> Maybe that's why I didn't Yeah. Maybe. that's why I don't like the home birth. experience. >> they get embarrassed and I'll say, "You. can drop a hot load into my bare hands. Like I want I want it. Please. I want. it. I want that, too.". >> See, this to me I the. Here's the thing. Again, another reason why I love my.
birth team. >> Mhm. >> I have no idea if I. I have no idea. Now, do I assume that I. didn't because nobody said anything, I. didn't smell anything, and there was no. like weird things? >> Mhm. >> Yes, that's my assumption. Do I know for sure? >> like that. I want you to that. >> Do I know for I want to Ignorance is. bliss. >> For sure. >> If you saw it and I didn't, that never. happened. >> Exactly. >> That's. >> That's none of my business. >> That's literally none of my. Whatever's happening down there, none of. my business. If it's numb, none of my.
business. >> Yep. >> And I was numb from my nipples down. >> I love it. >> Glorious. >> Oh, so wonderful. Number two, next up. from Tammy Katherine. What are some of. the best comfort items for moms to have. um that you've seen or would recommend? >> Well, go to Walmart and get pillows that. you are fine leaving. Yeah, not. sponsored. >> No. >> But. >> But we. >> Just like cheapy, but nicer than what we. have pillows. >> Right. >> also covered in like a tarp, basically.
>> They they can be sanitized, right? >> Yeah. So, they're not very cozy. Also, our towels um are really good for like. this If you needed to wrap your calves. Like if that's all you needed to wash, then the towels that we have are fine. Um that that uh chargers. Oh my gosh, people forget chargers all the time. Got. to bring your chargers. Uh People. sometimes bring one, right? >> ones, yeah. >> Mhm. >> People sometimes bring Galaxy lights. I. think those are cool. Like the. >> Yes, set the mood. >> the lights down and then set the mood.
Love that. Sometimes people bring like. aromatherapy stuff. But try out your own. before you come because you can fill the. room with something that you think. smells like You know, and then. you're you're kind of stuck with it. Yeah. >> Ooh. >> Um. But people bring too much. I'll say. that. Mhm. Very rarely are people like. getting into all the stuff that they. brought, you know? >> Oh, I was not that person. Yeah. I. brought I I mean, I didn't even bring a. pillow. I didn't even bring a blanket. >> Yeah, blanket. That's a that's a big.
one. >> I think in the in. the birth experience, I think people think yes, of course I. will know if I got something. >> Mhm. >> on myself, on my blanket, on my pillow. No, the you won't. >> No, it's it's everywhere. >> No, you will not. >> Mhm. >> The number of times where I stood up. after birth and turned around and looked. at the bed and was like, I didn't even. know I was leaking. >> Yeah. Mhm. >> You know? Like just I mean the I will. say after birth the one time,
um the nurse came in and she was like, "We're going to change your gown." And I. was like, "Why?". >> Yeah. >> She said, "I think you got some stuff on. you." And I looked down. and I said, "Oh, that's not birth. That's tomato pie.". >> That's tomato. >> Mhm. That's Carlino's. >> you had like a blood clot sitting on. you. >> Literally. I was like, "No, girl, that's. Let me get that. >> That's it. >> [laughter]. >> That's Carlino's tomato pie. That's what. that was. Um every single time I eat. that after birth, but I got it on me. that time and she was concerned that I.
had gotten birth on my gown. I didn't. Uh next one, longest labor time that. you've experienced and the shortest. labor time that you've experienced. >> Longest one They have to be inductions. because you're talking your body into. doing something that it's not doing yet. So, longest induction I ever took care. of was 5 days. And still ended in a C-section. We tried. so hard to get her a vaginal birth, but. it did not work out. Um and then. shortest 5. >> 5 like. >> Like the the five. 1 2 3 4 5. It was.
wild. >> Days. Days. Mhm. >> She wanted a vaginal delivery. We wanted. a vaginal delivery. As long as. everybody's healthy, like we keep. pushing for that. But it just got to a. point where it was like, this is not. going to happen. >> Pitocin can you get? >> So, it depends on the hospital. Like, the upper echelon of that is to be on. like 40. You should really never not uh. hardly ever get to that high. >> That threshold. >> That's got to be like a rare rare rare. rare thing, and you've got to try other.
stuff. But, um we like to stay way way. lower than that. >> Wow. >> But, bless her heart. Yeah, it was wild. And then, shortest. uh. They're They're what I call drive-bys. >> Yeah. >> Which I love. >> Yeah. >> Which is somebody rolling in on one. buttock. Okay? >> Yes. >> In the In the bed like this. >> Yes. >> Coming down the hallway. Um where you. just, you know, you just make sure it. doesn't hit the floor. >> You catch. >> Yeah, you just catch. >> Okay. >> people I think overestimate all the. things you need to catch a baby.
>> So, all you need. >> You need hands. >> I've. >> no gloved so many babies. >> Have you? >> Yeah. Cuz they're They're coming. >> They're coming. They're wet. They're. slippery. >> just got to You can't cross your legs. and Like, you're not going to cross your. legs and stop them. >> If it's coming, it's coming. You know? So, I. >> You're caught. >> I'm not going to Yeah, I'm not going to. let it. bounce. >> You caught him. >> That's crazy. >> Exactly. >> That has to No. Mhm. No. Though, my. first labor I still remember I was.
gripping the sides of the bed, and Jason. is getting behind my back, and I'm. gripping and I'm gripping it. And my. lovely angel of a labor and delivery. nurse goes, "She's crowning." And I was like, "Okay, great.". And she's like, "Give me your hand.". I know what's going. She puts my hand. down, and I touched Wyatt's head. >> Uh-huh. >> And then, she gave me I was like, "Oh, yeah, there she is." And I took my hand. back and went, >> So, when you wipe it on him. >> I I literally was like, do I touch the. And then I was like, you know what,
it. >> Okay. >> And now like I'm just I couldn't help. myself, but I was like, what do I do. with it now? I have pee on me. >> Right. >> Yeah, I made it though. Like I made it, so it's a little less weird. I think. The next question, which I couldn't have. phrased better myself, doesn't it hurt. to piss after they stitch you up if you. tear? How do you pee? I have an answer for. this. >> Yeah, tell us what your answer is. >> Dermoplast. >> Isn't it the best? >> Oh my gosh. Jus-. >> So amazing.
>> someone say like, oh, you spray it after. you go. Every single time I sit down on. the toilet after I give birth, I. dermoplast tip to tail. I mean, the. whole thing. >> Yes. >> And then. >> That's a hot That's a hot tip. >> I need to do. >> I like that, cuz I only did it. afterwards, but you're so right. >> It's glorious. >> it, too? Like you know the smell. >> Yes. >> If I smelled that anywhere, I would know. what that is. It's like. a mix between Vicks Vapor Rub and.
Febreze. >> Yes. [laughter] It's horrific. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, Dermoplast is my recommendation. for peeing after. >> Mine is the um. the water bottle that we give you. >> Mhm. >> to do it with your stream. So it's kind. of diluting your stream of pee. >> That makes so much sense. >> water, so it's not as stingy. >> Yeah. >> You know? But make sure it's like kind. of warm. cool, not spicy hot or anything. >> Yeah. >> You know, to where it's not shocking. you, but. >> is the key. Warm feels like almost like.
it matches the temperature. >> Yes. >> It's like it provides a lot of relief. Now, from VT Honey, how can those of us. not directly involved help improve black. maternal mortality? >> I love this question. >> I saw you did a recent video discussing. this. >> I feel like this. in the situation that we are in, being. white women, is really important to. discuss. as much as we possibly can. >> For sure. And I think that for me specifically, I.
have the honor of being able to like go. talk at conferences and stuff, and I. really want to and now this person. asking for them that I'm going to talk. about nurses and I'll talk about them. So, um as I'm teaching like the new. uh generation of nurses coming up, it's. one of the first things that I teach. them as they are orienting with me, because it took me going through like. all of orientation and then also caring. for black women who were the ones to. tell me about the history of gynecology. and like all of this stuff. So,
I think for nurses it's twofold. It's. learning about um the history of. gynecology and how that still affects us. today, which by the way, there was an. evil man named James Marion Sims who. would uh use black women's bodies to. against their will, obviously, uh to. advance his scientific whatever. So, so. much we know about gynecology is because. of those women who had no choice.
And like the effects that that has to. have on our on our medical system today, and then also, listen to black women. Listen to black women. Listen Listen. when they You think it's that simple? >> Right. Did you know that 80% of all of. the. uh like maternal mortality deaths are. preventable? Isn't that so devastating? But also it's. devastating but also hopeful, because if. we can really get into the prevention. part, then we have a chance of making it.
better. >> Right. >> Um but listening to black women, learning, and then for for nurses. specifically or anyone who works in. healthcare, the biggest thing that I. tell them is to stop getting defensive. if a patient doesn't trust you, you. know? I am not a trustworthy person to them. right off the bat, you know? And I don't. want them to trust me right off the bat. I want them to be suspicious of me. I. want them to. question what I'm doing cuz I always. want to make sure that I'm explaining. everything the way that I should. I want.
to make sure that um. that they understand. what is happening to their bodies and. you know, how I how can I be that person. for them? And then also, if you are. around a black woman who. >> who you feel is not being heard, that. you intervene in that situation and help. them be heard. >> Sure. I do think that it is so interesting. that this is the the the statistics are. as egregious as they are and that it is.
not discussed more. And it really is as. simple as like even if you want to boil. it down to as women, women's intuition. is a real thing. That's why that's why. we like it's a term. >> Yeah. >> Mother's intuition is a real thing. And. so for you to hear a black woman trying. to advocate for herself or express pain. or discomfort or a problem. and not only are you not hearing her, but you're not listening and you're not. believing. That is like you are part of the.
problem. >> Yep. >> And you your suggestion of like don't. get defensive. let's just believe her. >> Right. >> Let's believe her and see if we can. solve the problem. >> Yeah, it's absolutely not about you. >> Yeah. >> And one of the things that I do for. every single patient that I take care of. is I give them promises. So like I. promise to be your advocate. I promise. to listen and believe you. That's the. second one. So I'm glad that you said. listen and believe. Um I promise to. never keep secrets from you cuz a lot of. nurses don't want to scare people, you. know, like hey, if I'm worried about. something. But if I'm worried about.
something, you should know. >> Yes. >> what the situation is. Like it's your. body, your baby. Um but all of the. promises that I give my patients came. from me taking care of somebody who. needed that promise. And so many of. those patients were black women who. needed me to advocate for them in those. situations. >> Yes. Well, thank you for having those. conversations. I will. and can would love to and will continue. to amplify those messages because if. you're going to say it, I'm happy to.
reshare and make sure that someone who. is a medical professional who has the. knowledge to be able to advocate for. women in the way that they need to that. I can help spread that message as best. as I can. So thank you for talking about. it today. >> Um that's it for What to Expect When. You've Already Expected. Thank you for. being our expert today. If you want even. more of your questions answered, I. highly recommend Jen's book Birth Vibes. Um if there's one takeaway that you hope. people get from the book, what would it. be? >> That.
it's going to be a little bit. complicated, but you can prepare your. entire pregnancy for a birth that you. hope to have. And then something goes. different. So there are so many things. that you can plan for that are not. likely to change. You know, you may come. in and you wanted to have intermittent. fetal monitoring. Like you didn't want. your baby to be you didn't want to have. the straps on you all the time. What if. you come in and your baby's not really. moving that much? Like you may need that. that extra monitoring. So how can we.
hold tight to your values about why. maybe you didn't want that? Maybe it's. cuz you wanted to move around. If I if I. know that you're now having to have. continuous monitoring and you want to. move around, girl, we going to be. moving. We going to be moving and. grooving, okay? So it's about holding. tight to the values that are important. to you throughout your birthing process. so that you're not losing the essence of. who you are in that process cuz it can. be super. uh. like not very personalized sometimes and. you can kind of feel like you're just. another another person have a baby, you.
know? >> Right. >> But I want it to be a beautiful. transformative experience even if things. go different than you thought. >> The place you call home is important to. you, so it's important to Allstate. because home is where you make all your. memories. Like when you sit down to. relax for 1 minute, and that's exactly. when the dogs and at least one toddler. want to sit on your lap. At home, personal space is definitely a luxury. In fact, a lot of my memories in this. house involve a lap pile-up. If it's. important to you, it's important to. Allstate. Switch to Allstate and you.
could save hundreds on home insurance. today. Not available in every state. Potential savings vary subject to terms. and qualifications. Allstate North. American Insurance Company and. Affiliates, Northbrook, Illinois. >> As a mom of four kids six and under, I've been deep in the potty training. trenches, but luckily, I've actually. learned a thing or two over the years. because sometimes a turd on your kitchen. floor really puts things into. perspective. And it does get easier with. every kid because they see the older. kids doing it, and they want to be like. their sisters. It's a potty party. And.
I've also learned my go-to when my. daughter's got to go is Pull-Ups. training pants. We've been using them. since Wyatt started potty training. And. now Pull-Ups has another reason I will. always be a fan. They just introduced. the new learning layer, and I'm all. about this. It's designed to help kids. learn the difference between feeling wet. and dry. I use the learning layer. Pull-Ups overnight with Bennett. She's. the first one that I feel fairly. confident that as a 3-year-old, she's. staying dry all night long. That's.
really exciting. But if there's ever an. accident again, Pull-Ups is there to. save the day cuz I don't want to do a. full bed change in the middle of the. night. Plus, it's progress without the. stress of the mess. It gives my tiny. humans big kid confidence while I get. the peace of mind of up to 100%. leak-free protection. You can buy the. new Pull-Ups with learning layer now, designed to help kids learn wet from. dry. >> Now, switching gears here, um there is. one more clip of yours I wanted to play. today. both because I, too, talk about having a.
fat ass. Um. Yeah, talk about a pivot. >> Yeah. >> Uh I also want to get into something. you've been outspoken about. Let's see. at Queen Emma. >> The text on screen says, "Me crying for. weeks about a man I was loyal to for 15. years who wanted everyone but me. And. then you remember I'm a number one New. York Times best-selling author with the. fattest [music]. ass.". Three peach emojis. >> truer words. >> have ever been spoken. Um before we get. into it. >> Mhm. >> a moment for the fat ass.
>> A moment. >> I figured. I knew it. I knew What a team. player, honestly. Okay, the search on. this Tik Tok being. Jen Hamilton. big old truck. >> [laughter]. >> is taking me out. Now. >> Yeah. >> in all seriousness, you have talked a. lot about your separation on social. media. >> Yes. >> and turned your story into so much good. >> Thank you. >> Um for anyone who's listening who. doesn't [clears throat] know, would you. be comfortable.
>> You want the TLDR? >> Let's get into it. >> it. >> Okay. So, uh I have. own I had only ever been with one person. my whole life, which is this guy. And uh. we were together since 2012. Um and a little bit complicated because. I was a Virginia. >> Yes. >> Okay? You understand what I'm saying? >> Mhm. >> And uh then got pregnant. So, like. virgin pregnant, okay? >> Yes. >> So, that was hard. And then got married.
at 5 months pregnant and then was with. him ever since. I found out about some nefarious things. that the man was doing behind my back. >> Extracurricular activities. >> Extracurricular activities with a woman. uh 21 years older than me. And so, that was confusing. >> Yes. >> Did I just black out? I'm so sorry. >> Yeah, and it was like. uh-huh. >> 21 years. older.
>> Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Like. had grandchildren. Which. >> really think I just blacked out. >> Yeah, you can black out. >> Okay, go ahead. >> Um and so that was a That was a surprise. to your girl. Your girl was bamboozled. The bam was boozled, okay? >> You There you uh. >> But see, I was working. Like I I was. I was busy. >> I actually couldn't be bothered with. your. >> Right. So, I. uh.
>> Okay, go ahead. >> I found all this out and then. um. Yeah, so. I had this. these moments of like. "What's wrong with me? Like why me?" And. I did that for like a month. >> May I remind you. of your fat ass? What are you talking. about? >> You can always remind me of that. >> [gasps]. >> What are you talking about? >> Yeah, so I cried for like a month. And. then there was a day that I woke up and. I really think it had to do with Okay, I. was I know I can't really get into this.
position. I was face down ass up and not. in a good way. On my bed, okay? >> Just being sad girl. You know, just cry, cry, cry. And my my. my olfactory nerve in my nose was like. "This smells like him." You know, like. his ass was here, you know? >> And I called my mom. I was like, "I need. new sheets right this second." So, my. mom and dad came and picked me and my. kids up and we went up and we found some.
pink sheets. And then I invited all of. my friends from work over and we burned. my bed sheets, which I feel like was. such a. >> Cathartic. >> Yeah, it was such a good time. And it was it was the moment that I. needed to be like, "Okay, this. has not happened to me, right? I'm not. going to I'm not going to be the victim. in this. This is happening for me, right? It needed to be as bad as it was. in order for me to leave cuz I forgave. so freaking much in the marriage. So um. it was like the push that I needed to be.
free. >> Mhm. >> And so since then life has life has. opened up, you know? >> Yes. >> So I I think that. every every girl needs to find that like. their self-worth within themselves and. not have to tie it to. whether or not their husband is not. cheating on them with a with a. grandmother, you know? No offense to. grandmothers, by the way. I want to make. sure that that is very clear. >> Offense to that grandmother. >> That one in just.
in particular. >> to her. >> Yes. Cuz she said she knew all about me. >> Of course she did. >> She said she. >> You didn't have to tell me that. I. already knew that. >> She did not know that I had so many. followers. That was the quote that I. got. Yeah. >> So how'd you find out How'd you find. out? >> Um I found out. >> Did you find out? Did you see it? >> You know we were talking about the. intuition thing, you know? >> Yes, because it's real. >> Yeah, we broke up because I'd found like. a secret Tik Tok account where he was. like, you know, doing what normal people.
do like buying nudes and stuff. So. >> Naturally. >> Naturally. Um and so I was like, nope, not doing this anymore. Kicked him out. and then. um. in the time afterwards it was just like. some he would like be weird about. talking about stuff or telling me stuff. And I was like, if you don't tell me. right second what I'm what I don't know, I know people. I did I did get a little. a little thready, but not thready in. like I'm going to you up, but like. thready is like I will find out. So you.
might as well just tell me. >> Yeah. >> And uh he told me. And it was. >> Straight up. >> Mhm. >> And then she called me. No, she didn't. >> Swear to god. Yes. >> What did you say? >> me. Um. it was a long conversation. I did get a. little snarky, but I I feel like I kept. my composure pretty good. >> that you just said I did get a little. snarky. >> Yeah. >> So, you did or did not tell her to go. herself? >> No, I didn't say that. Uh but there were.
there were words. So, you know and you. know what? I wish him all the best. I I hope he finds what he's looking for. >> I feel sad that you had someone in your. life, someone who was supposed to be. your life partner. >> Yeah. >> Who made you feel like you were anything. less than. >> Yeah. >> when you are. >> Yeah. >> a whole ass meal. >> And since we're being real. >> I'll be real. Like. I I told you I was a Virginia, got. pregnant. >> Yes.
>> I was not How do I put this? Pursued in. any physical way really. You know what. I'm saying? So, like. >> By your spouse. >> Yeah. Like I would initiate and then be. turned down. But you can only be turned. down so much before you're like. >> I'll stop asking. >> Yeah. So, that part of my life I kind of. just felt like. this is my this is my my lot in life. Like as a. as a good wife I'm just, you know, I. will I will tamper down my own very.
human needs, you know, that we all have. >> Yeah. >> uh in order to make sure that he didn't. feel bad. Which is hilarious. now. >> Hindsight. >> You know, hindsight. Because he had he. had all those feelings, just not for me. You know, which makes it very clear that. like I'm excited for the second part of. my life where I. Do you know that boys like me? Like that. is wild. >> Hey Jen, I hate to break it to you. I. think it's going to be like a men, women, everybody.
>> offers for to be gay, and I would love. that. I just don't have the I just. >> We weren't lucky enough to be dealt. those cards, guys. >> love to have a software update. I think. that's what I. need. Because it's just not it's not in there. and I wish it was. >> I love that you know. >> Yeah. I want a wife. >> [laughter]. >> I I love that you know now. >> Yeah. >> That men would look at you. Like bare. like bare minimum we're talking.
completely vain here. Would look at you. and be like. god damn. >> Oh, well, thanks. >> But then on top of that like for someone. to learn your personality, to get to. know you to hear your wit, to hear your. humor, to hear your intelligence. Like. all of those things, you're. right men are attracted to you. Cut that. out. >> Yeah. >> You ever feel down on yourself, you give. me a call. >> Okay, I will. >> Okay, I'll talk you up. >> I'll get your number after this and. we'll. >> Absolutely. Now, you've turned this. whole thing into a positive for women. everywhere. You did not stop it pulling. yourself out of the trenches, you're.
pulling everybody out of the trenches. >> by raising a lot of money for women. going through difficult transitions and. rebuilding their lives. >> Mhm. >> How much money did you end up raising? >> Over $200,000. >> you did. >> And it's going to go straight to. like nonprofits that help women do that. >> Amazing. >> Some men. >> Right? Cuz. >> Yes. >> But it it's overwhelmingly women. So. whenever I say women, I mean. you know, the girls girls, the you know. >> Yes. >> like sometimes guys can be girls too, like one of the girls, you know? >> Absolutely.
>> be a part of a club where we go through. hard stuff together, you know? Um and. I'm also trying to get North Carolina. divorce law changed cuz it's. >> Okay, yeah. Can you explain this to me. cuz I did see you talking about this. Um. you must be separate legally separated. for 1 year before you can file for. divorce in the state of North Carolina. >> Yes. >> Mhm. So. you can be totally not even with your. person for a full year. And then that other person can say when.
you when it's time to file for divorce, they can say like, oh, I actually spent. the night with her 2 weeks ago. Starts. the timer over. >> I'm sorry, what? >> Mhm. Yeah. I have a friend, Woodson Bradley, who's the senator who's trying to push. this through. Um. it took her divorce 6 years. Took 6. years to divorce from her person. I also. have another friend who uh separated. from her husband. >> I can't close my mouth. I just realized.
how wide it was open. >> Separated from her husband. Um naturally. started like dating, you know, on her. own. Her husband got video footage that she. went on a date. Her public adultery. trial is next year. >> Okay. >> Isn't that crazy? >> Okay. >> You want to know another crazy thing? >> I don't know, do I? >> Let's say. >> Is there smoke coming off my head?
>> Let's say that hypothetically. >> This would never happen because I have. an IUD and I don't want this. >> But let's say that hypothetically in the. next year I fall in love with somebody. and get pregnant. I am very fertile. So. it is a chance, you know. But um. guess who's the dad on the birth. certificate automatically. The ex. >> You're kidding. >> Mhm. As long as you are still legally. married, the it's the law of assumption.
that even if you haven't seen him in the. full year, that your ex is the is the. legal father. >> What you guys got going on down there? >> Isn't that crazy? >> What's happening down there? >> It hasn't been changed since 1931. And the divorce law, whenever they were. uh arguing to have this 1-year. separation or whatever, the argument on the floor. when they were talking about this was to. give her time to come to her senses. >> Mhm. >> Uh-huh.
>> So you're you're telling me that if a. woman needs out of a marriage because. she is being. like experiencing domestic violence. >> Mhm. >> they don't have exceptions. >> exceptions for domestic violence. >> is not. >> Mhm. They have to stay in a time when a. woman is leaving is the most dangerous. of her life. And so to. >> The expectation is that the lash out. will happen at its worst. That's. >> why would we keep women I'm saying women. but you know what I mean. Why would we. keep them tied to somebody who is a.
danger to them? That doesn't make any. sense. Like let them let them leave. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Let me let me know. >> Okay. >> [laughter]. >> So let me know. >> Thanks. >> Um last thing like I mentioned earlier. that I love to ask all of my fellow mom. guests. what is. the best piece of motherhood advice that. you have ever received? >> Mhm. I'm going to bring it to. breastfeeding because man, I thought.
that the baby just knows. >> figured it out. >> that we both have some universal. knowledge that is downloaded in the time. that it's needed. No, girl. >> No. >> That's wild. It's a wild experience. Cuz. y'all both don't know what you're doing, you know? And you just got to figure it. out. So. >> And you just met. by the way. >> And there are going to be so many people. who have opinions about your boobs that. didn't before. >> Yeah. >> And they'll tell you. So I tell people a. few things. Number one, only take in the.
advice that makes sense to you. If it. doesn't make sense to you let it go. Number two, let. yourself have if if breastfeeding is. important to you, okay? If it's like. super important, give yourself like 2. weeks which I know sounds like a long. time. But usually within that time frame. you kind of get it together if you're if. you're going to get it together. Um seek. out lactation consultants that are going. to help you. Um not you know your Aunt Martha or. whatever. >> Cuz it's been a minute since Aunt Aunt.
Martha did that. >> And maybe Aunt Martha had real hungry. babies that just like latched on. Cool, you know? >> That is crazy. >> Yeah. >> How the difference in babies alone. >> Oh, yeah. I had two very different. babies, you know? And then when your. milk comes in, that's wild. >> Yeah. >> I was I was over a popcorn bowl just and. you know. >> Yeah, and you have like all these. >> different like streams. >> is the stream is crazy. The stream For. those of you who don't know, when milk.
comes out of your boobs, it is not one. hole. There's a couple different streams and. they're all crossing paths. >> Yes. >> And you can sometimes you can't catch it. fast enough. >> I just milk myself into a popcorn bowl, you know? >> Mhm. Just until like cuz the. engorgement's crazy. >> See, I'm a bare minimum lady. >> Yeah? >> I'm a I'm a bare minimum. >> A little bit. >> Just as much as they need. >> Well, that was nice. That was nice of. your babies to do that to you. >> then they then I can't pump any I don't.
have any extra storage. It's you and me. every 3 hours. >> Right. After my last baby, he's 10 years. old now, so this was a long time ago, but he was 7 months old and I had to go. to like a conference. This is the first. time that I was going to be away from. him, okay? So, have you heard this story? Do you. know where this is going? >> No. >> [laughter]. >> I'm worried. >> to get wild. Buckle up. So, I was at. this conference and I didn't want to. travel with breast milk. Like I knew I. was going to have to pump. So, like I. found a mom down there. I was like. who needed breast milk. I was like,
"Please let me just give you this milk.". Um. So, the second day there. I'm feeling a little something hot. on my boob, like the line. And I was. like, "Oh, no, I'm getting a clogged. duct.". And I didn't want to. tell my other friends that I was with. but I ended up having to. I was like, "Hey, I got to go back to the room. I. got to milk myself, you know?". And so go back to the room and I'm I'm. pumping, pumping, pumping and I'm. letting down so many times that like. weird burning sensation, right?
>> The pins and fiery pins and needles to. your nipples, yeah. Mhm. >> I keep letting down, but it's just. backing up further and further and. further. I'm just like this is so awful. I'm in the shower, I'm massaging, I'm. doing all the things. And at one point. I had said to myself. if there was just someone here. with a mouth, you know? Cuz pumping is. different than a mouth, you know? >> Very much. Not as efficient. >> I'm in the shower. and I'm looking down and you can get. there. >> You could get there. You could get.
there. >> where I was going. >> that right out. >> I did. See, I don't have big boobs. They were It's It's. Let me be clear. Let me be clear. >> I had long titties. Okay? Roll them up. into a sports bra, okay? Like like a. half a cup of Jell-O in the bottom of a. Walmart bag. >> Okay. >> Okay? Okay. >> Like. >> Now, when you were when you were done. breastfeeding, was there still Jell-O in. the bottom of the bag? >> Just small. Just small.
>> Okay. >> There's a picture that. >> a skin pancake. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like way further down. >> No, no. >> Just like flat. >> weren't. There was one point between children. where I literally was of course on. FaceTime with my sister, duh. And I lifted up my shirt and I was like, you will not believe this. And I lifted. up my shirt and I put two fingers over. my nipple and literally just went, look. at it. And she goes, at what? And I. said, exactly. >> Where is it? >> There's nothing there. >> Yeah, I took a picture of myself to see.
if I needed like a breast lift or. something. And nobody needs a breast. lift, by the way. But I wanted one. I. took a picture of myself and you could. see like all this. and there was no nipple. No nipple. So I went to go get like a consultation. at like a breast surgeon. >> Yes. >> And. um. I you know they have like the gown or. whatever and he gets he opens a drawer. and he gets out his tape measure and. he's like okay you can open your drawer. you can open your gown and so I open my.
gown. He puts the tape measure back and closes. the drawer. >> Oh no. >> I was like you're not even going to. humor me. You're not it's not even. close. He's like you qualify. >> [laughter]. >> I have. some long ass titties. Kylie. It was. but now you don't. >> long. I got them I got them got them. suckers jacked up to heaven. >> One day. >> Oh. >> One day. >> nice. >> [laughter]. >> They're so nice.
>> One day. >> Yeah. >> I've said it and then I got all these. weird DMs of people doctors offices. being like we'll do it and I was like. >> I want to do Kylie Kelce's boobs. >> on the ban list. Like I literally. literally have a list of doctors that. reached out after I said something about. it on the podcast because like. I just I want just I just want them put. back. >> Right. Just enough. >> Where you where they were. >> Yeah. >> I cannot thank you enough. Jen for coming to Philadelphia. >> Thank you.
>> for chatting. >> Yeah. >> for finally getting to meet in person. You can go get her New York Times best. selling book Birth Vibes right here.
