WHAT WAS REMOVED from the Avengers Doomsday Trailer!

We all missed something about this. moment from the Avengers Doomsday. trailer and it ain't what you think. Welcome back to New Rockstars. I'm Eric. Voss and the Avengers Doomsday trailer. is finally here. Actually, thank you all. so much for watching yesterday's. in-depth trailer breakdown video and our. 2-hour trailer live stream reaction and. Q&A. And in that Q&A, the biggest. question we kept getting asked about was. this final shot of Steve Rogers catching. Mjolnir and smiling. And whether or. something was being hidden from us here. After rewatching this trailer at least. 100 times, yes, I now do think something. about this shot is being misrepresented.

We also have. this I heart of iron Doom Iron Man. design, the new mask same task design, and a new Ned themed guy in the chair. shirt. I'm going to be wearing that at. Comic-Con all weekend. Okay, the. critical moment of the Avengers Doomsday. trailer comes right here. >> We're going to need a miracle. Hey, pal. It's not possible. >> [sighs].

>> On the surface, Steve Rogers, bearded. and wearing a black bomber jacket, black. t-shirt, and dark jeans, surprises Thor. on the Fantastic Four ship and proves. it's really him by summoning Mjolnir to. his hand. Of course, recreating the. iconic moment from Avengers Endgame. But. totally, it is a bit odd to splice a. joyous callback between Thor's moment of. abject defeat against Doctor Doom and. the very grim final title reveal. And. why is Thor so mystified upon seeing an. Avenger who went back in time returning.

again? When Thor himself participated in. an even more complex and twisted time. travel adventure. Why would he consider. Steve's return to be miraculous? Like. Steve just showing up again with a beard. is not not possible. It's very possible. compared to the even crazier that. Thor has witnessed in his MCU history. Did someone lie to Thor and tell the god. of thunder that Steve just died because. they couldn't figure out the time travel. logic of his return journey at the end. of Avengers Endgame? Furthermore, some. are saying that Steve just looks off in. this shot. Off in a way that they can't. really put their finger on. Maybe it's. the casual Friday attire. Maybe it's the.

beard and the hair. Maybe it's the. lighting. Maybe it's just been a minute. since we've seen Chris Evans in a Marvel. movie. Or maybe it's just that he's. smiling in a trailer where no one else. seems to be smiling. Like read the room, dude. Like if this were Tony Stark's. funeral and then some creeper was. standing in the background smiling, we'd. all assume that guy is a skin-walker. Actually, ironically, according to. Secret Invasion, there were Skrulls. present for that event. Some theorized. that this is not actually our 616. universe Steve Rogers in this shot, but. rather a variant speculated to be in.

Doomsday named Captain Hydra. Captain. Hydra is an evil variant of Steve Rogers. from the 2016-2017 Secret Empire. storyline where Red Skull had. manipulated a sentient cosmic cube named. Kobik to rewrite reality where Steve. Rogers had been recruited by Hydra at a. young age. Still had the super soldier. serum, but just applied all of that. skill to serving Hydra. I am not going. to rule out Captain Hydra appearing at. the very end of Doomsday when. Battleworld forms or in Battleworld and. Secret Wars. I mean, Battleworld. contains over 40 subdivisions from. different realities. And the live-action. MCU has already shown us a glimpse of a.

universe where Hydra already won in. Multiverse of Madness. Doctor Strange. and America Chavez tumbled past a. reality where there was a Hydra blimp. over New York City in the 1930s. That. would mean World War had not even. happened in that reality. And Steve. Rogers, who was born on July 4th, 1918, would have been a kid or an early. teenager living in a Brooklyn dominated. by Hydra with all those Model Ts. Also, it's a little unsettling that the. manufacturer of the Model T, Henry Ford, had no problem with Hydra running the. show. Also, it's not that surprising. when you start to look into the history. of Henry Ford. But anyway, I don't think. this shot of Chris Evans is Captain.

Hydra because there is no way Mjolnir. would consider Captain Hydra worthy. If. so, it would mean that Mjolnir would. have to respond to a pretty messed up. definition of worthiness. And I don't. think Thor seeing a Hydra-aligned heart. in his old buddy is what is freaking him. out in this moment. But I understand the. thinking that this must be a variant of. Steve Rogers because how else would. Steve go from where he was with Peggy in. the year 1948. And with this baby from. the first Doomsday teaser, perhaps in. the early 50s, to being in the present. day with Thor and the Fantastic Four in. Doomsday. Well, in my trailer breakdown,

I presented one theory that Steve, by. staying in the past with Peggy Carter, created the branch universe of Earth 828. that the Fantastic Four live in. So, the. peaceful, no Cold War 1960s that the. Fantastic Four benefit from was actually. brought about in part by having a Steve. Rogers in this universe who helped rid. it of Hydra throughout the 50s and. encouraged world powers against. developing the super, aka the hydrogen. bomb, from 1948 onward through the 50s. and 60s. So, potentially, by the year. 1969, Steve's son would be a teenager. So, how could Steve have met the. Fantastic Four in this 828 universe?

Well, in this explanation, he's always. been in that universe since that final. scene of Avengers: Endgame. The better. question really is how and why Thor is. with the Fantastic Four in this. dimension. Maybe Thor uses the Bifrost. to travel along all three of these. conjoined universes via their shared. atmospheres to be that initial hero. checking out all of these graces. Or. maybe he got a specific warning from his. adopted brother Loki. Actually, it could. be Loki who answers his prayer to Odin. that we saw in the second teaser. The. way Loki seems to be visiting Steve. Rogers in his home, according to this. trailer. The Russo brothers saying that. all four of those December teasers were.

actually just stories, I think now has. just confirmed that they were all. stories that Loki was observing as the. god of stories holding all of these. timeline stories together. But the. detail we missed centers around who Thor. is really talking to in this scene. Yes, I think this scene was edited in a. deceptive way to recontextualize Thor's. reaction. I don't think Thor is just. reacting to the sight of his old buddy. Steve Rogers, but rather there's. something or someone else that's really. part of the big picture that we are not. seeing. Some have asked about who this. mystery figure is standing behind Steve. as he summons Mjolnir to his hand. Yes,

there is someone standing in the. background there, and I'm 90% sure it's. Johnny Storm. This figure has the same. slender build, the same white. turtleneck, and a glimpse of blond hair. in the shadows that Johnny has. And. also, we brightened up the trailer, and. it really does look like Johnny when you. brighten it up. And they're on the. Fantastic Four ship, so you know, it. being Johnny would make sense. But, many. are also noticing specific empty spaces. in shots throughout the Doomsday. trailer. Like in this big team-up shot. in the Avengers Tower penthouse in. particular. Like a lot of people are. saying that it looks like some. characters might have been removed from. this shot. Indeed, when you zoom into.

the space to the left of Johnny Storm in. that group shot, and you look at the. blue part of the wall behind his leg, doesn't there seem to be some. inconsistency and some slight blurring, specifically on the three planet display. on a screen where something just could. have been removed there? And when you. examine the symmetry of this overall. shot, that we have Bob Reynolds on the. far edge of the frame on the left would. make it natural that someone else would. be on the far edge of the frame on the. right behind Thor. Someone like a second. character who could just be standing on. those steps or sitting on those seats to. the right side of frame. In the shot of. the Fantastic Four and Thor entering. through their ship is followed by this.

shot of Sam, Bucky, and Scott with. someone in the foreground on the far. left that I at first thought was Reed. Richards. But, notice the hair. It is. certainly not Reed Richards' haircut. It's someone with longer hair that would. match the way Steve Rogers' hair is. long, or Robert Downey Jr. if he were to. have floppy hair as an unmasked version. of Victor. Actually, in April 2025 when. they were shooting a lot of scenes for. this, Robert Downey Jr. showed up at a. Doctor Doom themed birthday party where. he had specifically floppy hair looking.

like this. So, yes, I think these three. Infinity Saga era Avengers are reacting. to Steve or to Victor. And we are really. seeing their look of astonishment and. apprehension upon laying eyes on either. Steve or laying eyes on someone who. looks eerily like Tony Stark. So, coming. back to this moment when Thor seems to. tell Steve it's not possible. What. really creeps me out about the shot is. that when we first fade into the shot. from black on the close-up of Mjolnir in. Thor's left hand, in the darkness during. that transition, you do get a look down. the ship toward the cockpit. And Steve.

is not standing there. Actually, we. brightened up the shot and you can see. someone in a white jacket near the. cockpit. I think that's Reed Richards. just way further up near the cockpit. But, then the edit has Thor turn on, "Hey, pal.". >> Hey, pal. >> [panting]. >> It's not possible. >> I might be crazy here, but that Hey Pal. kind of sounds like Robert Downey Jr. as. much as it sounds like Chris Evans. >> Hey Pal. >> And from that Hey Pal, it's implied that. Steve was always standing there, but he. clearly wasn't. So, one of two. possibilities here. One, Thor is seeing.

g-g-ghosts. Steve Rogers isn't on the. ship at all. Thor is hallucinating Steve. under the spell of some kind of sorcerer. trickery and Johnny's really standing in. the background like, "Bro, who are you. talking to?" Also, don't point Mjolnir. at me. The sorcery could come from. Victor von Doom, who is a practiced. magician and duplication caster. Kevin. Feige and the Russo brothers keep. reminding us in every press interview. that this Doctor Doom is a sorcerer. And. I think we should brace ourselves for. some Loki-style sorcery trickery from. him. But, a second possibility that I. think is even more interesting, Thor. isn't saying it's not possible at Steve. Rogers, but rather to the face of Tony.

Stark on the body of another guy named. Victor from the 828 universe. Someone. who presented himself to the Fantastic. Four as an ally. That truly would be. something Thor would consider to be. impossible since he saw Tony Stark die. And this moment on the ship is not a. reunion of just two OG Avengers, but. really the three actors who formed the. trinity of the Infinity Saga. So, I. think the theory we're working with here. is this. There is an armored and masked. sorcerer named Doctor Doom who is. plaguing these Marvel heroes in the. movie, but there's also a friendly.

scientist named Victor, last name. unknown or redacted, who starts off by. helping the Fantastic Four from their. reality, who ends up freaking out Thor. and Steve for how much he looks like. their dead friend, but they can't help. but just trust that face because they. know it as someone who is their friend. Victor in the first half of this movie. will manipulate these heroes by hiding. his dual identity from them, but when. Thor gets a look at the eyes under. Doom's mask at some point, he's going to. make the connection. Think of it as the. difference between Kang the Conqueror. and Victor Timely. If Kang the Conqueror. wore a mask, you would assume that it's. a completely different human being, but.

if you look at someone like Victor. Timely, you're like, "I can trust that. nerd." I think it'll be too late when. Thor makes that connection, and it's. going to happen in the TVA when Doom. steals Loki's reality-warping powers and. becomes God Emperor Doom. We know Chris. Hemsworth shot a scene in the TVA based. on Hemsworth's stunt double posting an. Instagram story on that TVA set. Why. would the stunt double need to be on the. TVA set unless Thor is going to get. wrecked in that scene? So, that is what. I think is being hidden from us in this. part of the Doomsday trailer. More. appearances of Steve Rogers and a ton of.

shots that are going to have Robert. Downey Jr. as Victor unmasked looking. something like this.
