This refers to the Real World Office of. Strategic Services or OSS. During World. War II, they had a division known as the. Dirty Tricks Department that would. devise unique and inventive ways for. American spies to conceal weapons to. complete their missions, like baseball. grenades and umbrella guns. It could. also be a nod to Richard Nixon in the.

book covering his 68 presidential. election titled Dirty Tricks, which. covers how news outlets and key figures. in the Republican party secured him a. seat at the White House like we're doing. right now with Victoria Newman and. Homelander. We open with a thorough. recap of what has happened in the last. three seasons, reminding us of last. season's revelation, that Homelander. soldier boy son, Ryan's looking for a. new father figure, and Starlight can. fly, and Victoria Newman is still on. top. Moving to the tunes of God Save the. Queen by the Sex Pistols, originally. released in 1977. The song came out. during a time of great turmoil in the UK. due to recessions and high inflation and. unemployment and continuing labor union.

strikes. In the year 2000, though, the. lead singer, Johnny Rotten, said, "You. don't write God Save the Queen because. you hate the English race. You write a. song like that because you love them and. you're fed up with them being. mistreated. And those feelings are. echoed here in The Boys America as we. kick off season 4. Tensions are at an. all-time high with Victoria Newman as a. secret suit poised to enter the White. House as the song starts with the. lyrics. [Music]. As we'll see in the first three episodes. of the season, the soups are planning a. government takeover, setting up their.

own form of fascism. Currently in. America, we're going through our own. little 2024 presidential campaign and. elections. I sometimes forget that folks. are watching us from like all over the. world. So, you just might not know our. current situation, which is usually. always, more often than not, adopted. fire. Though, the boys are known to take. satirical approaches to America's values. and scheming. It's no surprise this. mimics our current political affairs. They even have a campaign website for. Newman and Singer with a countdown to. the premiere and links to register and. check your real voter registration. status. So, it's election night, the. first Tuesday in November. This is.

fairly close to GenV. Ashley mentions. the debacle at Godoken. So the two shows. overlap in time. The Singer and Newman. poster, usually where the E's are in. both Singer and Newman, have the US. flag. It's only in Singer's name now. This is more reassurance that Newman. isn't really here for America, but for. her own agenda. Colorado Nevada just. went to Robert Singer, and we don't. really know whom they're running against. yet. In season 3, Lamar Bishop was. trying to be the VP running mate for Bob. Singer before Victoria Newman, and most. of the news outlets then only covered. Dantis being weird or Ted Cruz being a.

freak. Later in episode 3, they show the. state representatives, but it's for the. House and Senate. It never really. mentioned other political figures up. against Singer andor Newman. There's a. ton of people on camera like filming. Victoria Newman's speech when in reality. it's a video with a filter that makes. you look like an object, like the lemon. from Tik Tok. I just think this seems. really funny that I caught that. We see. our first glimpse at Kimo this season. She's undercover as a server and she. walks past these Homelander posters that. say, "Save America." We've seen these. posters lining the walls for a while. now. Throughout the show, they're. performing their oceanstyled scheme. within a Mr. Marathon catering truck.

Mr. Marathon was the original speedster. on the seven that Adre replaced after he. retired. Though we never see him on the. show, he's mentioned every season. He's. on the Dawn of the Seven, even movie. poster. Mother's Milk has now started. rocking this mustache that has thrown me. off continuously. It is uh I'm always. jarred when I see it. He also continues. his tradition of wearing hip-hop shirts. This one's for Gangstar. Kimo brings him. catering food and says he's been working. too much and he needs to eat more. She. offers him these Grurier puffs. Funny. enough, the same snacks D Stan Edgar. asked Mario, the chef had bought to make.

when Butcher arrives in season 2. Would you ask Mario if he could whip up. some of those guru puffs? Would you like. an order? They're worth a cheat day. I just think this is interesting to. capture because if they have bot or. Mario's guru puffs being served at. Newman's election night party, this. could imply it's her favorite food by. proxy her dad Stan Edgar. It's his. favorite snack and she's still missing. her dad, which Homelander alludes to. later like an I just like that. she kind of still remembers him. His. qualities are still there with her. We. see Frenchie in this very comic accurate. depiction with his goggles. Witcher is.

puking his guts out to remind us he's. sick and talking to a hallucination that. will later be revealed to be Becca. Just. so you know, TempV has numerous side. effects, including but not limited to. migraines, muscle spasms, nausea, and. projectile vomiting. As you can see. here, further testing of the drug has. also recently revealed the adverse. effect of causing brain lesions. Organic. brain lesions can also lead to. depression, anxiety, and schizophrenic. like psychosis. And that's just. temporary V. Permanent compound V should. be more concentrated and aggressive. So, the results for that should have a much. worse side effect. Side effects that.

we've seen in Homelander the past two. seasons. I'm not saying that all soups. are affected like Homelander will be. because genetically we're all different. So, this may just affect him and may not. affect others. Kimo and Frenchie stop. Butcher from entering the elevator. And. when the elevator is finally about to. close, it says, "Please remove. obstruction from door." And as we know, Butcher will be the biggest obstruction. in the next three episodes. To the boys, to Keysler, to Homelander, to everybody. I love how in this scene, it's staged to. look like Homelander is just outside. being heroic underneath the sun, but. he's actually just taking a like a.

normal person, and he's like lit by the. bathroom lights. He's also aging as. evidenced by the white pube. And he is a. mess. Look at that mini breakdown he has. before he leaves the bathroom. Ryan is. older. He's like a teenager. Now, this. is of course in the actor aging, but. also a reminder he's absolutely in his. developing years now and easily. influenced. So, his constant flip-fpping. between wanting to be with Homelander. and turning away is understandable. We. then get this scene. Would you be scared. of a bunch of cockroaches? Huh? Yeah. And Homelander has no idea how to deal.

with kids. He has never even socialized. with Ryan. We're introduced formally to. Zoe, post Compound V, given to her by. her mother in season 3 to protect her. reminder that Homelander helped Victoria. get Compound V so she could give it to. her daughter and it was their little. deal in secret. Homelander is currently. on trial for killing the protester in. the finale of season 3. Something that. still seemed up in the air during Genvy, though some children wanted to see him. still being held accountable. Butcher. offers to take Ryan back to Mallerie. He. tries to have this like one-on-one. conversation, but it's just not going. well because the dude, like Homelander,

doesn't know how to be a good dad. They're like two two heads of the same. coin. I don't I think that's the quote. Homelander makes this comment. This. isn't the Neverland Ranch. And this is a reference to Michael. Jackson's estate known as the Neverland. Ranch. And you know what he's alluding. to. Homelander reminds us that he has. X-ray vision by seeing Butcher's tumor. caused by the Temp V that last season he. got. Then promptly leaves announcing, "I do not want to miss Smashmouth.". Unfortunately, Smashmouth lead singer. Steve Harwell passed away on September. 4th, 2023. But maybe he still lives on. in the boys universe. The van Mother's.

Milk is spying in has tags for 2023, and. Sage's license expires in May of 2023. So, this takes place in 2023 and the. lead singer of Smashmouth very well. could still be alive. And then right on. Q, we get the intro for Smashmouth's. Walking on the Sun. As Kamiko and. Frenchie break into Newman's hotel room. to swap the eye drops, Zoe gets a good. look at Frenchie and Kimiko, which is. interesting simply because she. immediately reveals her powers to them. as well. So, Zoe knows their faces and. they know Zoe's a suit. Both sides of. information feel highly dangerous and. collateral somewhere down the line in.

the series. Zoe in self-defense. unleashes her four tentacles out of her. mouth. These might have replaced her. wisdom or molar teeth. You can see how. far they go from the outline of her. cheek. She gets shot three times, but my. girl is still standing. Her little. tentacles also have teeth. They're just. gross. I don't like it. After scuffling. with Kimiko, she rips off her arm, which. is crazy. Her tentacles are strong. enough to rip a human limb off. In the. trailer, we see an amputated leg as. well. And at this moment, I believe Zoe. ripped that leg off, too. Once Kimo. jumps out the window, the lights begin. to flicker, and this is Starlight in the. area using her powers to fly in and save.

the day. Kimiko's regrowing arm is too. short to grab Starlight's hand. Also, we. get this like ET like the Systeine. Chapel finger touching moment here. And. I just like it. Newman confronts Huie. and they're close friends or you know so. she thinks they are. Newman used to be. the head of the FBSA, the Federal Bureau. of Superhuman Affairs, which basically. just stops Soups and holds them. accountable for their actions. And. that's when she worked alongside with. Huie and they became very very close. She brings up Huie's use of TV last. season which gave him teleporting powers. and yes, he did it when he was naked.

Huie tries the Azon Newman, which is now. the reveal moment where we realize. that's what he wanted to put in the eye. drops. It doesn't work on her though, not even a burn mark. All suits are. slightly stronger than normal people and. can hear better than normal people, but. seems like this is a big expansion of. Newman's powers. Like, is she impervious. to damage? Her hair isn't even burned by. the acid. It's just the suit. Why is. this woman so strong? And later, Butcher's bullet to the brain does. nothing. This shows that the boys have. no idea how Victoria's powers work. Even. if you blinded her, could she still. manipulate blood? Like there's a lot of. questions here for this. Newman has a.

real moment with Hueie here and I don't. think she's manipulating him. I think. part of her does long for the life she. had before getting too deep into her own. current mess. And I don't think Hueie is. really hearing her out here because he's. focused on trying to blind her. Newman. references War Games. This is a film. from 1983 with a very young Matthew. Brick that taught an entire generation. about mutually assured destruction. See. what we're doing here? Butcher shoots. Newman in the head, but you can hear the. bullet ricochet around the van and. almost hit Huey. And honestly, she's. kind of cool as hell for that. That's a. That's a real badass move. Then we're.

taken to the CIA building and there's a. placer that reads, "In memory of Susan. Rener, deputy director, who gave her. life in the service of her country, we. are in debt." This is Jennifer. Espazito's character whose head got. popped by Victoria Newman. Mother's Milk. is here to see Grace as the new leader. for the team, and Butcher is about to. meet with Joe Keiesler. Clearly, Grace. and Butcher aren't on good terms because. he let Homelander get away with Ryan. That's like if a gun could hang out with. a bomb. This is when we learn that. Robert Singer is trying to get rid of. Victoria Newman. And that dude better be. careful because she's just going to kill. him and become president herself. It. just seems like a stupid idea to get a.

bunch of humans to kill a soup who can. just kill you all. He points out that. eliminating Newman is mother milk and. the boy's top job. So he's very. much aware that she's a soup. Not many. people know that she's a soup, but the. boys, Grace Mallerie, Homelander, and. Marie Maro from Gen V. And I'm sure. others have spoken about it with Marie. at this point, but as of right now, her. being a soup is still kind of secret. Ser says this. God damn it. Everyone told me to pick. Budajage Edge instead. Didn't know, sir. And this is a reference to our current. US Secretary of Transportation, who ran. for president in 2020 and was considered. a potential VP pick for Joe Biden.

Mallerie confirms that the CIA is still. bankrolling the boys. She also floats. the idea of Starlight, aka Annie, using. her powers to blow out Newman's eyes, but Mother Milk doesn't know if that. would work. And again, no one knows how. to take her down. This is when Mother's. phone goes off, and his ringtone for. Mo'Nique is Never Going to Give You Up. by Rick Ashley, which is an oddly. specific song for right now. But he also. is very much still in love with. Mo'Nique. We all knew that. Jeffrey Dean. Morgan appears as Joe Keiesler. In the. comics, this guy whose first name was. Howard was nicknamed monkey. He had an.

amputee fetish because the comics are. rough. They are gross and weird. He got. his nickname for a monkey having sex. with his ear. It's it's just a lot and. I'm glad they they're not including. this. Anyway, he's a CIA analyst and. provided the boys with help and intel. As some of you may know, Jeffrey Dean. Morgan Keesler played Jensen Eckles, Soldier Boy's father in Supernatural, another crypt show. Now he's talking. about Soulja Boy killing Homelander and. Soulja Boy is Homelander's father. So. it's a lot of father-son crossovers with. the same actors for the same kind of. show. Coincidence? No, cuz Kryky wants.

Padki now. Cry is just making. supernatural and making them very weird. Keesler also mentions Butcher having a. clear shot. And my first question was. how does he know that? The same way. information spread about how he let. Homelander take Ryan because as Keiesler. mentions, Butcher is kind of the talk of. the office. Everyone knows and is. gossiping about him. The two talk about. being in Pangier Valley and Afghanistan. Then we jump over to Mother's Milk. Motherm milk apartment number is 42. Not. that it matters, but that number shows. up everywhere. It's the Jackie Robinson. number. I presume black people love. Jackie Robinson. I mean, what's not to. love? We all love Jackie Robinson. He. also has a Richard Prior poster below.

Obama's presidential portrait in his. house. Homelander is asleep and clearly. having nightmares. We see a bunch of. different traumatic scenes, some new and. some old. Homelander hears voices in his. dream. Stillwell saying, "You have to be. good." We hear Jonah Vogabomb, Stan. Edgar, maybe even Stormfront. And then. we get to see these flashbacks, and. these are what I really want to get. into. lasering Stillwell from the finale. of season 1, Stormfront from season 2, episode 5, and May from the finale of. season 3. What's interesting here is. Stillwell and Stormfront promised and. betrayed Homelander's trust. It may have. never loved him, used him, and she never. really told him to trust her, and she's.

able to block his beams. That's like how. she's actually the most trustworthy. person. Him killing Black Noir from. season 3, episode 8. I assume this is. Young Homelander. Before season 2's. premiere, Prime Video released a snippet. of Young Homelander learning to be. American, and this looks to be around. the same age. This scene we also kind of. got a glimpse of in the trailer. A. toddler being watched by scientist from. season 1 episode 6. Stormfront feeling. him up from the premiere episode of. season 3 when she was still touching. him. Gross. Crushing the guy's head with. Stormfront from season 2 episode 6. Threatening Starlight in the elevator.

from season 2 episode 4. The reveal to. Starlight that Homelander had killed. Supersonic from season 3 to episode 4. Destroying Blind Spots eardrums from. season 2 episode 1. The red door again. Homelander laying in Stormfront's empty. bed after she died. destroying the. private plane carrying the mayor of. Baltimore and his son and staff in. season one. Making the suicidal girl. jump off the building during the annual. birthday save after finding out. Stormfront committed suicide, the man he. killed last season who threw the bottle. The vision of him lasering a crowd. killing of Black Noir, killing.

Doppelganger, crying into the mirror, finding his white pube, the red door. again, but in a close-up in the quickest. shot, we see this young boy screaming. This which I don't recognize, but I. think is a young homelander being tested. possibly in this red room. The long hair. matches the same shot of the boy we saw. earlier being guided into it. We're at. his trial and this dry look was the. photo of Vault International posted on. Twitter on May 3rd. This was a court. drawing of a very unenthused Homelander. They're trying to defend him, saying. that this is a mere chalk drawing that. could never capture his alert and laser. focus, which was being mimicked by the.

courtroom sketch artist during Trump's. trial, who his supporters have said is. purposefully making him look upset. This. episode really focuses on Homelander's. mental health and his battles. internally, which are very interesting. ways to go about it because they're not. trying to give him a redemption arc. He's just like freaking tired and they. want us to see that. The shots change. and so do these locations, but. Homelander staying the same with the. same face, the same pose. He's just done. and every day is the same. Ashley says. they're behind on the tower. reconstruction due to the damage from. last season and they were still. renovating this during Gen V. Then we. see the news. NNC, which is CNN.

backwards, is the news station within. The Boys. The news crawl reads, "Reprett. Favre, childhood obesity, justifies. diverted food bank funds. A reminder. that in our world, Favre was charged. with diverting funds that were set aside. in Mississippi for needy families to pay. for speeches he never gave. And building. a new volleyball facility at his. daughter's university that is also his. alma mater." Web Weaver discharged from. Global Wellness Center in Malibu. This. time it's different. Webw Weaver is the. boy's version of Spider-Man, who's. rumored to appear this season. The Deep. is on one-on-one with Haley Miller. Haley Miller reappeared in season 3 of.

The Boy. She's also the one that. interviews Marie and Jenv. Haley. speaking on Cassandra's newest tell- all. autobiography. Cassandra the Deep's ex. wrote a book and spoke on it in the. finale of the third season. It's called. Into Deep: My Journey to Freedom. He. also makes a clear joke about the Amber. Heard and Johnny Deb trial about pooping. in the bed. Just a racist rumor and a ridiculous lie. perpetuated by a jilted and uh. emotionally unstable hysterical woman. who, let's be clear, pooped in my bed. We got our first look at Black Noir. after Homelander killed him. The deep.

greets him and I guess there's a world. in which people just don't know he's. dead. Though once he talks I'm sure. everyone has figured it out. This season. Nathan Mitchell who played Black Noir. before is playing a new version of the. character for this current season which. I assume is a black noir that just can't. stop talking. Ashley mentions the. debacle of Gdokulken saying she's. thankful for Homelander coming in and. saving her life. As we remember this was. the event in Genvy where Kate and Sam. terrorized Gdulkin and the press made it. look like Marie, Andre, Emma, and Jordan. did it. So, like I mentioned earlier, this takes place a couple months, maybe.

even just one month between the events. of Gen V and season 4. On the board, we. see a list of 25 choices, and we're. going to go through them all. Number one. is Talon. In the comics, Talon was kind. of like Catwoman character with long. claws who did petty crimes and ended up. having a threesome with Tech Knight, the. guy who, you know, holes that we saw in. GenV, and his sidekick. And I don't. think she's been mentioned in the show. yet at all. Number two is Europo. Europo. is mentioned in season 3 of The Boys. He's wanted for murder and went MIA, hence why his status here is unknown. In. the comics, he was a German teleporter, obviously a parody of Nightcrawler.

Number three is Hyperion. Okay, so. Teenage Kicks was the junior superhero. team that Atram came from and his dead. exgirlfriend Popclaw as well. They're. like a parody of like the Teen Titans. And according to the show Wiki, Mesmer. was also a member and wore the name of. the t-shirt once. In the comics, they. were always having orgies and doing. awful things like stealing cancer kids. meds and And as far as I know, there's no boys comic character named. Hyperion. But there is a Marvel. superhero with that name. Number four is. The Standard. The Standard was mentioned. on the show before. He was a member of. the teenage superhero group Young.

Americans, a religious version of. Teenage Kick and the team Starlight and. Drummer Boy came from. I think he was. also an original character, not from the. comics. Number five is Lady Arkite. Lady. Archite was a character from the comics. on the team, the Parallactics. They were. all cybernetically enhanced. Number six. is Dog Knot. In the comics, he was. another member of Teenage Kicks and kind. of looked like a dog and wore a dog. collar. He's a parody of Beast from. X-Men. I don't think he's been mentioned. in the show yet. Number seven is Malch. Chemical. Mentioned on the show before, Frenchie took him out. He was later. hired to DJ a party for the Seven. In. the comics, he was a shape shifter who. shapeshifted and tricked Starlight into.

banging. Number eight is Big Game. We. saw him briefly in season 1, another. teenage kicks member from the comics. Number nine is Tech Knight. We saw him. in Jen V, the TV host who likes to, you. know, bang holes. Number 10 is Sister. Sage. We know from the trailers that. she's going to be one of the new members. of the Seven, as played by Susan. Hayward. She's the original for the. show. Number 11 is The Divine. In the. comics, all the Gmen were kids kidnapped. and brainwashed by a pedophile. So, the. show mostly stayed away from that plot. line. The Divine was gay and a parody of. Angel from X-Men. It has been mentioned. before in the show. Number 12 is Incin.

Incinerron. H. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He's mentioned briefly. in the comics, but no real details about. him. Number 13 is Dr. Pecul from the. comics. An obvious parody of Doctor. Strange. He's a pimp who provides sex. workers for soups. Got to hate him. Number 14 is Shout Owl. He was a member. of Teenage Kicks from the comics and he. hasn't been mentioned in the show. either. Number 15 is Stacker. He's a. parody of Colossus, also mentioned in. the comics as a member of GeForce. Number 16 is Airbus. He's a minor. character from the comics as well. Number 17, Luckless. She's a minor comic. character, and I don't think we've seen. him on the show yet. Number 18 is Jet.

Streak, another character from the. comics. Number 19 is Pit Stop, a minor. character from the comics. Number 20 is. Black Helmet, and I can't find any. character with this name in the comics. or mentioned on the show before, but it. may be a variation of the comic. character named 5. Number 21 is Holy. Mary from the Young Americans. A. character from the comics as well who. dressed like a nun. Number 22 is Lord. Horus. Was briefly mentioned in the. comics and was briefly mentioned on the. show before. Number 23 is Wrangler. And. we couldn't find anything on this. character. This is new. Number 24 is. Pinwheel. A character from the comics. with gray skin and a pin wheel image on.

his forehead. And number 25 is Groundhog. A feral soup. with sledgehammers for hands. A parody. of Wolverine. He was in the animated. series as well. And weirdly, two numbers. recur at the bottom here. We got number. 24 again, Invisalaz, a comic character. and a parody of Invisible Woman. And. number 25, we got Jimmy the One who's a. comic character and the leader of the. team Titanic. And yes, there is a team. called Team Titanic. And then we get. closer looks at some of their more. specific bios like Talon, Hyperion, Dognot, Sister Sage, who was a member of.

Teenage Kicks with A Train, Wrangler, and then we jump to some quick clips of. ads on the TV. And clearly this is a. spoof of Trump asking for money for his. legal defenses. We get some VOTE news. Stormchasers are now entering local. elections across the country. So, you. know, that seems scary. A commercial for. VA on ICE that we will see later in. episode 3. It's at Vacoin Arena. VA. announced Va coins back in 2022 that you. could use to buy Homelander NFTts. NCC. news crawl reads Homelander murder. trial. Rumors of a rift between.

President-elect Singer and his VP begin. to swirl after Newman says she's ready. And will and will what? We can't read. the rest. And then we're on the truth. bomb with Firecracker. She has a Dantis. bumper sticker in the background, so you. know she kind of sucks. Firecracker. points out that an eye for an eye comes. from the Jew section of the Bible. And I. hate that I have to break this down. Leviticus 24:20, fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, whatever. injury he has given a person shall be. given to him. Leviticus is one of the. five books of the Old Testament that.

make up the Torah. So that that's what. she means here. Luckily, we switch to a. picture of Butcher and Becca with their. dog, Terror, the English bulldog. Starlight is practicing her flying. Clearly, she's gotten better than the. last season's finale, and Hueie is. timing her like a little coach. Then, we. see Mother's Milk reading a book, and. this is a reminder that Mother's Milk. deals with OCD. As he reads a book. called Conquering OCD, we can see that. the boy's headquarters is still in the. old office space that we saw last season. for a company that was called Grey Wall. This is a tribute to a production. designer in season 1 and two of the boys. who passed away in 2020. Season 3, episode one, was dedicated to him. We.

get this little exchange. Amazing. I can fly 100 ft away from all. my cares. and a power grid at the same time. What. will Gret say? This is a reference to climate activist. Greta Thunderberg. Huie ignores a call. from his father and this is a reminder. that Huie's dad is played by Simon Peg. whom we will see sleeping later. And. another reminder of Mother's Milk's. classic shirts. It's a 50cent one now. cuz my boy's always styling. We're now. at the rundown bot video. Clearly a. spoof of Blockbuster down to even the. color scheme and font. Those girls. fighting other girls sleeping while. handcuffed and all that, but also it's. so sad for Kimo. And I actually really. like her arc in the series, but I do. need to see more of Shining Light. And I. know it's a horrible organization, but. like I want to see her kill more of them. or just bring them to the forefront for.

the next season. Kimiko mentions looking. into the mirror and hating what she. sees. Which makes me believe every time. Homelander, Firecracker, or any soup is. looking in a mirror, they also hate. themselves. There's just a great. foreshadowing when looking into mirrors. and having a look back at your own. reflection and seeing who you are. And. these soups do it constantly. The Deep. is eating his favorite snack from. Guyatti's flavor town. The fried pickles. he mentioned in episode 4, which means. he's definitely coming back from. debraining and banging Sage. Then give us a good. classic w. They all start tussling. Butcher vers.

black noir, Starlight versus the Deep. The deep at Annie Bean soups are really. just destroying this place, being flung. all over through the fridge and the. doors and the walls. It's destroying it. like they did last season at VA. Butcher. is truly holding it down using a gun and. being half dead, which honestly respect. The impact of the shotgun blast into. Black Noir can push him back, but he's. able to bounce them off his cuffs like. Wonder Woman. Insane. Then Black passes. out. And as a reminder, this one is. narcoleptic. This is when Noir and. the Deep find out that A Train is indeed. the league. Then Black Noir flies. And. as he mentioned in the previous episode. when he threatened to go join Cir Devat, he also has a great line before getting. a body full of lead from Mother's Milk.

Eat a flying mother. And then he falls out the window. When. Annie and the Deep are fighting, I also. think Annie is digging into the Deep's. gills here with this move. And as we saw. back in season 1, his gills are super. sensitive. I think we actually get a. gross scene of him bros just tickling. them. Then Annie starts beating the hell. out of the Deep. When he's finally. dazed, you see a magazine that has a. soldier saluting. and it says hero cuz. Annie is my hero. When the Deep is. knocked out with that weight on his. head, we see papers for Vot's American. hero. We've talked about that before. this season. It's the reality show that.

was finding a new soup for the seven. Once they know a train is the leak, he. makes his escape and Ashley reminds him. to take out his chip. We saw in previous. seasons that the seven all have chips. implanted in them so he can be tracked. We see a picture of a young rebellious. I can't wait to learn what's in that. notebook and how she's saving Cindy for. last. I'm sure they're not going to give. us Cindy. I wish they would give us. Cindy. Maybe Soulja Boy. Maybe that's. the icing on the cake here. I don't. know. But I feel like there is a secret. person that we haven't met yet that's. not the shape shifter that is going to. be revealed. She does tell Homelander.

Then Sage announces how. she was fired. And we learned that she's. also been Black Noir. Though she ain't. loizing herself to be with Black Noir, which is hilarious. Back with Kimo and. Frenchie. Samir shoots Kimo with the. virus, then hops off. The dude who got.

his own leg cut off being responsible. for someone else getting theirs cut off. is just some sweet poetic justice. Also, you got to admire how quickly Frenchie. springs into action here. I hate him and. I love him at the same time. As I. mentioned in one of my last breakdowns, Frenchie uses his belt like a tourniquet. to stop the virus from spreading, but. it's moving very quickly. Another bad. '9s song plays during all of this, and. it's Steal My Sunshine by Len. I hate. this song. When we. zoom out, we can see a lot more of the. little New York City and a billboard. with Jesus and big letters. We see the. same deep puppet we saw from Gen V is. also there. And then they start singing. the song again and there's clearly a lot. of conspiracy alt-right talking points. in this song. We cut to Ashley in the.

Bot Studios television room where. they're switching cameras. So, this must. be live. Then we cut to Butcher and. Kesler getting drunk at a bar on. Christmas. Then Ryan stops the scene and. The. shape shifter also just bangs Huie, which is unnecessary. Why would it need. to do that? So, the shape shifter has. Annie's memory since she specifically. mentioned their earlier conversation. before they switched. Plus, the fact.

that she knows the code to the safe. Doppelganger could only look like. people, but he said it was like flexing. a muscle and he couldn't do it for very. long. He also never had the people's. memories. Dupe Annie takes Huie's. computer and what I think is the drive. that has Newman's information all on it. And we close the episode with the real. Annie chained in a basement, loose skin. all over the place. She's also looking. at a shirt that says snows out, hose. out. Hell yeah, girl. And the skin of a. naked woman with gray hair. the woman. who asked for a goddamn photo. So, it's. right after this moment that Annie's. taken away. Not a single person saw her.

Whether we see that, we don't know. as there's only one season left, but. there's potential for it to end with.

It's. also common for some high functioning. sociopaths like shape shifter to. actually learn to become more charming. and magnetic by studying human behavior. And it's been said that they enjoy. studying human emotions and behavior. The shifter says later that they're. sociopaths, so maybe this proposal is. all part of just studying that behavior. Hilariously, the. nurse gives Butcher his low blood. pressure reading and then immediately. quickly gets the out of there. because he doesn't want to deal with. this grumpy foul-mouthed British dude. getting snarky with him all the time. He. mentions Singer being as good as dead in.

Homelander basically winning and the. soup's plan is to kill Singer and the. boy's plan is to take out Victoria. So, right now nothing is going according to. anybody. Kesler calls Butcher's. affection super cancer. He says it this. way. It's not the way I'm saying it. And. he's basically the manifestation of it. Of the episodes of the animated show The. Boys Diabolical, there are three. episodes of the creator Krypkkey has. confirmed his cannon. One of those. episodes titled Jon and Sunhee about a. man giving his sick wife who is dying. from pancreatic cancer a dose of. compound B to try and save her. The. compound B winds up turning the cancer.

into a sentient tentacle monster. And. doesn't that sound a little familiar? Me. thinks Kryky knew what he was going to. do with Butcher when he approved this. episode. Grace Mallerie is back. Unfortunately, it's not for long. As we. look into the hallway and Grace opens. the door, we can already see this isn't. a normal hospital. Look at those exposed. cinder block walls. But also, they're. willing to let Butcher smoke here. So, it absolutely isn't a normal hospital. Mallerie is still mad at Butcher for. letting Homelander take Ryan. And we. learn later in the episode that Grace. really loved Ryan, which I don't think. was properly shown at all throughout the. series, which made her death less.

impactful and felt a little weird to me. Just personally, this is how I feel. It. felt like seeing Brianna Tarth cry over. Jaime again in Game of Thrones. Like, girl, you're Brianna of Tarth. like. Mallalerie. You are Grace Mallerie. And. Mallerie doesn't make huge mistakes. And. her thinking she could just lock and. seal Ryan in this room with Butcher. isn't really a smart idea. Back at. Homelander's crib, you can see his pube. jar is getting pretty full. With. Homelander on the verge of seeing his. plan of soup dominance come to a pass. He's disgusted by his own weaknesses, keeping the manifestation of his. mortality in a secret jar. I touched on. this a little bit, but I want to.

highlight Gina's theory that Sage's. threat that there was one person. Homelander could never defeat. She met. him himself. He's his own worst enemy. and he'll never defeat that negative. voice inside of his own head. I think. Gina's on to something here because I. mentioned it might be Homelander and it. might just be a metaphorical thing, but. I also think it could be Ryan. This me. and Gina going back at it. Homelander. upset with Ryan's mess goes to pick it. up begrudgingly like a real dad. And I. also like this entire season people are. drinking and eating bot-based products. And here's Ryan with a normal Mountain. Dew. It looks like Ryan has a lot of. school work. And I haven't seen this. child go to school once in this entire.

Homelander has torn. up his penthouse and I'm honestly. getting irritated by his back and forth. attitude. He also demands Ryan like a. soldier rather than his son. Homelander.

even burned up part of the American. flag. And contrary to popular belief, it. is not illegal to burn the American. flag. That act is protected under the. First Amendment. The more you know, Ryan. chooses not to obey Homelander here and. won't necessarily obey his other. parental figures, Mallerie or Butcher, later either. Wherever he does choose to. go after this episode, it seems like he. might be gearing up to chart his own. path. They cut away here, but I guess. shifter needs a recharge to maintain. their form and maybe alter their. memories. This is similar to. doppelganger who had to strain to. maintain a form like flexing a muscle. The shape shifter then reads Annie's. thoughts. One about the shape shifter. possibly killing her mom to which they. say, "Oh, why the would I kill your. mother? That requires going to Sedona. and no one should have to go to Sedona.". So, this shape shifter has literally. been all over the world just fake. pretending to be people and just. existing. What's filthy to me here is. the shape shifter is constantly saying. it's like a furnace in here and it's.

referring to wearing someone else's. skin. They said it in the closet in the. last episode and they'll say it again. later in the bunker. The shifter. corrects Annie when she calls them a. psychopath. The shifter is very clear. that they are a sociopath. These are. both very distinct antisocial. personality disorders. Both exhibit a. disregard for other people's rights. Still, while psychopaths can be cold and. calculating, often feeling no remorse or. empathy for the actions, a sociopath is. capable of feeling the guilt and empathy. of others. Sociopaths are also capable. of feeling some emotions. However, these. feelings may be shallow or fleeting. Maybe that's why the shifter loves.

proposing to people. Ultimately, a. psychopath is generally more cold and. calculating, which tends to lead them to. successful lives. The sociopath is more. reckless and impulsive, so at least the. shifter really knows what their. problems. You all think you're the heroes of your. own story. The writers don't want you to see the. boys as bad guys. Just remember, they're. not all super. They all have a bad past. and as regular civilians, we shouldn't. make anyone be superheroes because they. can't help everybody all the time. And. also, they have a lot of work on. themselves to work out for their own. self. So maybe heroes don't really. exist. They were trying to be deep, forcing Annie to tell Annie about. herself like Homelander in the mirror or. firecracker in the mirror or the deep in. the mirror. We're forcing Annie to look. in the mirror and everyone's got to face. themselves, their past, and their own.

Since Singer has an anti-sup. stance, it would make the most sense to. have him killed by a soup. It also makes. sense to frame someone that's already.

hated by the community, a mutually hated. enemy. Maybe Vot PR overseen by Sage. makes up a little lie that the kids got. out and on their first plan out was to. kill Singer. Butcher as he lies dying. tells Huie a story about him and his. brother Lenny dreaming about going to a. topless steakhouse in Nevada. Now there. are a ton of places you can have a steak. and see boobs in Nevada and it's called. a strip club. So I don't know which one. he's specifically talking about. Regardless, later Huey will try to use. Lenny to connect with Butcher again, but. by this point Butcher is long gone and. Kesler is in control. Butcher says to. Huey, "Tell the boys I'm sorry, would you?".

But later when face to face with the. boys again, all Butcher could say is, "You're alling welcome.". Firecracker sounds rough here. News, and the Weather Network. So, we. learn that Hueie had all information on. Victoria, including her ties to Stan. Edgar, that the freaking shape shifter. deleted in the last episode. So, they. have no virus, no evidence, no nothing. We're back with Kimo, who's just. standing here. So, I guess her leg has. grown back fully by now. We get Singer. now clowning like we didn't already know. that he already knew that Victoria was a. soup. Back with Butcher and Mallalerie, Ryan arrives and their plan is to get. Ryan to stay here and help but. voluntarily. Butcher doesn't want to. force him to do this. Connect four is on. the table next to Butcher and Ryan.

offers to play and we should remember. that Ryan used to play Connect 4 in. happier times. Ryan hesitates to stay. with Grace and Butcher, worried that. The Deep. says to Homelander, "Oh, Captain, my. captain," which is the same thing Tech. Knight said to Homelander at the party. in episode 6. Now, Deep wasn't invited. to that party, so I don't know where he. picked up this little line of poetry.

stress from working at VO. It's the last. time that we see Ashley in this episode, but can't wait to see where she is next. season. Maybe she'll be the big brain. villain like the leader. Or maybe she'll. grow superpowered hair like the inhuman. Medusa to replace her hair that she. pulled out. I don't know. But I'm. genuinely very excited to see her. powers. And then she'll also be another. member of the boy. She'll probably work. alongside Starlight. And boy, that. reunion will be weird. We're then taken. to the New Jersey Department of Public. Works, which manages city construction. and operations, including buildings, roads, and other infrastructure. They. appear to be hiding the president here.

yellow lighting. Kimo and her are. perfectly under the fluorescent lights, illuminated like champions. Annie stares. at her lifeless self on the ground, and. she's just killed a person, but she's. also killed Starlight. Now we finally. have our Annie January. Back with. Homelander at his penthouse, Newman. discovers Singer is still alive after. killing the shifter. She wants to pull. out, but Homelander won't let her. He. tells her that she'll have to go with. every word he says, as if his hand was. jammed up her butt and puppeting her, which has got to be a call back to all. the puppets we saw last episode. Back. with Frenchie and they have the real. Annie again. Hooray. Frenchie has. finally finished the virus. And I like.

all their tired faces compared to how we. saw them earlier in the season where. they were worried then. Now they're just. like freaking tired. But Kimo is. excited. Mother's milk bandages up Annie. and now Annie is in the Bronx t-shirt. Then Hueie and Starlight have the talk. which Annie like come on. He didn't know. at first, but then again, I would also. be mad because I was starve pottying on. myself, hoping Hueie could know it was. me and it wasn't. Also, Huey was. assaulted at least twice this season. I. mean, like, we got to cut him a little. bit of slack. But this moment is sweet, saying she did things too well while. Annie messes up so often, and that's how.

he knew it wasn't her, but just had to. be for certain. Vicki then calls Huie. and tells him she wants out. In this. immediate telephone fight, Vicki. mentions Samir knowing he was kidnapped. and they cut his leg to create the. virus. Where is he now? maybe with Stan. Edgar, but I think Stan Edgar went back. to prison. We don't know where Samir is. And I'm sure Victoria sent him away and. is trying to meet up with Zoe and him. again soon someday, which will never. happen now. She also reminds Huie of war. games from the first episode of the. season, the 1983 film starring young. Matthew Brick that taught an entire. generation about mutually assured. destruction. She looks at a box of Zoe's.

artwork. These boxes are also pack and. go, which we saw in a surveillance truck. with lamp lighter on it in season 3. She. then quotes the movie War Games. The only way to win is not to play. Newman doesn't want Zoe to end up like. her. But ironically, that's exactly. where she ends up in the end at the Red. River Institute. Then we're back at VA. Tower. The seven are currently killing. everyone inside. We get Firecracker.

chasing down Doug Friedman, who was at. the top of the list after Ashley. We saw. this scene in the trailer, and it's. crazy to see her so sluggish and tired. after running as a soup. She's getting. weaker fast and will sooner or later be. a useless member of the seven. Then the. deep runs into Evan Lambert and the Deep. is loving this weird gross power. He. loved putting fear in everyone's eyes to. hear what he wants to hear like. Homelander how he loves his power and. attention. He then punches a hole. through Evan's face. Then Black Noir. kills also Ashley and it's all a little. bit between the two of them. Black Noir. even gets a murder boner. Back in.

episode 6, the Deep told new Black Noir. that old Black Noir used to get murder. boner. So our new Black Noir has finally. become the true Black Noir. So now Black. Noir and the Deep will probably be. murderous psychopaths next season. Back. with the boys, Huie convinces the gang. to protect Victoria and Zoe for now. because they're tired of being monsters. This coincides with the theme of this. season because everyone is basically. trying to repent for their past sins and. now they're finally being the heroes. they wanted to be and less damaging. Then Kimo and Frenchie kiss and fall in. love. And I guess after Colin, he. finally realized he did love Kimo. And.

the episodes where she just mourned. their love were just baloney. This came. off weird to me. And maybe it was just. me. It was personally just me. It was. sudden and it felt like it was going. backwards in the show. I think we should. have just moved on from them having a. romantic relationship, but I guess we're. with this now. Brandon does say to play. devil's advocate, he thinks that the. show is just trying to show that they. always had feelings for each other, but. each thought the other deserve someone. better because both Frenchie and Kimo. saw themselves as monsters who had. committed unforgivable actions. But. again, it was kind of a sloppy and rush. execution and it felt a little odd. So,

you can be on both sides clearly. I I. personally that's just how I felt. Back. with Butcher, Grace, and Ryan, Mallerie. deduces she needs to tell Ryan the harsh. reality of the world and his dad, Homelander's horrible essence he left in. this world. Even now, Butcher wants to. spare Ryan from the reality, and it. would be so easy to win Ryan over to. their side if he knew what the actual. monster Homelander was. But this is the. only thing Grace has left to try to win. him over, but Butcher still resists. Grace reveals the plan for the. assassination of Singer, as well as some. of the past transgressions, like the. crash of Flight 37 with Mave. But she. also tells Ryan how Homelander assaulted.

his mother, and he's the product of. that. Now he's angry and this anger is. all over the place. Riss tells Ryan he's. going to have to stop Homelander or he's. going to have to be locked in this room. Mallerie says this room is a CIA safe. house designed to force people like Ryan. to stay here. Who else is in these CIA. safe houses? Then Mallerie tries to. level with Ryan about how important he. was to her in her life, which we didn't. really see, but Grace did watch over. Ryan for some time. So all this anger at. Butcher letting Homelander take Ryan. isn't completely because he's building a. mini version of himself, the mini. Homelander. It's because Ryan was a good. boy and she really really loved him. and.

Ryan kills Grace Mallerie. Then finally, Butcher lets Kesler take the wheel. because enough is truly enough. But does. that mean the real Butcher is now dead? Back at the Vault Warehouse, Newman. arrives at the Secret Service and Zoe. And I love this way that Zoe and Kimo. look at each other because in the first. episode, she ripped off Kimiko's arm. Then Butcher arrives looking great. He. looks fresh. It's clearly not him right. now. His eyes look kind of black. He. pushes Huie out of the way and out comes. the tentacles. Just like we saw with the. rabbit, his tentacles resemble the old.

twisted tree limbs. They look like they. have piercing thorns or blades on them. He's basically like Venom. He even. channels a different character when he's. using his Venom powers, sort of like. Venom and Eddie did at the beginning. He. then rips Newman completely in half, covering her eyes so her powers won't. work. Luckily, the Keesler Butcher knows. only to hurt Newman as the original plan. was. So, the next step is to take out. Homelander. It looks like Butcher has. the same tentacle-like power as the. woman from Diabolical. Krypkkey did. mention in an interview with EW that V. juiced cancer, however, was much more. aggressive than Butcher. So, we haven't. really seen the worst of it yet. So, is.

Victoria Newman dead? I assume so, as. her eyes are now sort of lifeless and. powerless. Kimo has the ability to. regenerate and so does Victoria Newman. as we saw in Gen V after she split her. hand open. However, we don't know to. what degree. So, she could randomly. appear in a healing tank next season, but I think it's best to keep her dead. She might have been a little too frriged. in my opinion uh with her and Grace. Mallerie being murdered, but I think a. little bit more for Grace, not for. Victoria Newman. Victoria Newman has. been around for the entire season. She. was meant to die. Back at Homelanders, he's holding Ryan's backpack, saddening.

that he's gone. The news covers Victoria. Newman's passing, and I'm sure the. Secret Service told everyone after. escaping. Sage is back with her Detroit. shirt, the outfit she was wearing when. she first arrived. So, it turns out that. this was all Sage's plan. Every little. thing. The only thing that irritates me. now about the fact is that any mistake. can be saved by Sage saying, "It was my. plan. I accounted for y'all messing up.". Like, it's not fair to us as the. audience. I feel like if Ryan dies, she. could just swoop in and be like, "Yep, that was exactly how it was supposed to. go." Like, no, it wasn't. He wasn't. supposed to die. But, you know, you can. do whatever you want. Regardless, the. news is now covering the assassination.

of Newman that was given by Singer to. the boys, including Starlight. Homelander now. decrees we're in a new age of. superheroes, and they're hunting down. the Starlighters. That's when we get. cameos from a lot of old soups. Not only. Kate and Sam stopping Kamiko and. Frenchie, Frenchie looks at a ship that.

says this, which is where Hueie spent. most of his life in the comics in. Scotland. Mother's Milk gets a rude. awakening from Love Sausage, which I'm. sure I cannot show you. His best old. friend. We love Love Sausage. Then. Starlight and Huie are stopped by Cindy, who I mentioned last episode. We have. not seen Cindy since season 2 at Sage. Grove. She's the telekinetic soup who. made people explode. She's basically. Magneto. Also, they kept her in the same. clothes. A piece of me believes they. forced her into this because Love. Sausage isn't a good soup either. In the. comics, Love Sausage was actually.

working with the boys. So, we'll see if. this guy eventually teams up with them. or they just changed his character. completely. This is all narrated over by. Firecracker on the Truth Bomb podcast. As she mentions children sleeping. peacefully knowing Starlight is gone, we. watch Newman's child Zoe unfortunately. wind up at the Red River Institute just. like she did. And where the hell is. Samir when you need him? So, with. Homelander's guidance, every team of. cops or authorities will be accompanied. by soups. This is such a bad idea. And. an even crazier reveal, Kimiko finally. speaks, screaming, "No, at Frenchie. being separated and taken away from.

her." In the comics, she spoke one line, which was, "I hate mean people." She was. actually selectively mute in the comics. instead of the show where it's. psychological. All the boys were shocked. when she spoke that one line in the. comics, though. Starlight shoots up into. the sky, flying away. Her powers are. back with a vengeance, almost like. they've upgraded. So, now Starlight and. Butcher are the only free ones, and. Butcher's on his way to murder some. soups. We close with butcher driving. into the darkness of winter. This is. also very supernaturally. A ton of these. episodes ended with Sam and Dean, the. character played by Jensen Eckles aka. Soldier Boy, and sometimes Jon, the. character played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan,

driving away into the night music plays. Birds flee behind him. You can see them. at the bottom left of the screen. When I. was a child, my mom would always say, "If you see a bunch of birds fly away. from one area, you probably shouldn't go. there." And I'm assuming that in that. area, the goon sent to capture Butcher. failed and were murdered, and he's back. on his way to kill Homelander. And then. when you think the episode is over, Calhoun reveals to Homelander that. Soulja Boy is still alive and Calhoun. just found out about it. And this was. just a kept secret underneath. Homelander's nose. Homelander walked. into this room looking pretty smug. But. as soon as he sees Soulja Boy, his own.

face reflected in the glass. We see. doubt and anxiety creep across. Homelander's face again before we cut to. black. Even though his plan worked, he's. still a mess. Now, is Soulja Boy the one. that can stop Homelander, the one that. Sage was referring to? I don't think so. because Homelander didn't even know. Soulja Boy was still alive and Sage. implied Homelander knew who that one. person was. Could it be Butcher, Ryan, Barbara who left alive in the red room? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
