STAR WARS SKELETON CREW FINALE BREAKDOWN: Easter Eggs You Missed!

Mandalorian helmet and oneeyed sm33 and. starting with R2D2 does set up what. ended up being the big reveal of this. episode that the supervisor was a 360°. spinning conical top much like an. Astromech droid we open back in the. Vault of the mint of adaton but over. black we hear the igniting of J's. lightsaber and its deadly hum.

we cut among each of the four kids. betrayed faces while their parents. Express relief to J since they think he. is a republic Emissary safely returning. their children to him the kids know. better the blue glow of the lightsaber. reflects in Neil's eyes like teardrops. and in the visor of KB's headgear J. flips the lightsaber hilt in his hand. like a fencing foil before he retracts. it making the weapon look almost like a. decorative baton or a staff he's. counting on these adults knowing hardly. anything about the Jedi and how unlikely. a Jedi would be as a funds transferring. Emissary of the the Republic in the past.

30 years JN says Aton and its safety. should be your top top priority the. repetition here cracks me up at Aton top. top J N nowood like everyone is. stuttering like sm33 and a reminder that. this vault is one of. 1,139 meaning there are 1138 other ones. which they put in there as a nod to. George Lucas's THX 11138 John puts the. kids under house arrest with safety. droids but John brings Fern and farra. with him to see the supervisor wle Heats. a frozen dinner using a warming try.

which reminds me of the Back to the. Future 2 future Home Technology the. Black and Decker hydrator oh boy oh boy. mom you sure can hydrate a pizza which. is also referenced an Ant-Man the watan. these places basically amounted to a. variety of Star Wars experiences with a. mix of moral alignments of people living. there to help these sheltered suburb. kids learn that there is a richer life. out there beyond the C AAC that safety. Droid overheard whim radioing to Neil. and whim pretends it was just him doing. voices for his action figures that. safety Droid focuses Iris a little bit. almost have to say hm wait Fern was the. name of that other girl you were with. are you saying that one of your action. figures that you smos against the other. ones is named after that girl should I. be reporting this Fern and Farah.

ascended the supervisor's Tower which. points aggressively into the green. gaseous barrier Sky ultimately I think. that barrier is the big bad of this show. inside the supervisor's level was meant. to evoke The Wizard of Oz feeling with. the voice of a reclusive old man coming. from a giant mechanism but also. according to the Star Wars website that. revolving conle shape was designed as an. homage to the spinning Dome top of R2-D2. and of course the Sinister glowing red. light of the eyepiece is a natu how 9000. in 2001 A Space Odyssey Steven Fry's. voice returns as a supervisor is that.

under secretary Farah I see I have been. watching over you and your daughter with. great interest with great interest a. call back to the phrasing Chancellor. Palpatine used when he spoke to Anakin. Skywalker at the end of the Phantom Min. we will watch your career with great. interest J asks you're ruled by a Droid. we never learn in the series who. originally devised this Creed for adaton. and the great work but even though at. Aton likely goes back to the days of the. high Republic maybe even older to the. Old Republic I think in more recent.

times sometime around the Clone Wars it. was set up as a side slush fund pipeline. for Palpatine using Droid resources from. his separatist contacts as Darth cidus. to keep this Old Mint from the Old. Republic era printing gold to fund his. projects during the Galactic Civil War. and that's why the supervisor is. programmed to see all Jedi as enemies. you see the last message from the. Republic stated that all Jedi were. traitors if that was the last message. that the supervisor received from the. Republic it would suggest that the. message arrived sometime around 19 BBY.

at the time of Order 66 of course. Palpatine would continue preaching that. the Jedi were Traders for years after. that but 19 BBY would also be the last. time it would be called The Republic. because shortly after that Palpatine. rebranded it as the Empire so really. that tells us that at Aton has been. operating siloed like this for hundreds. of years and then has had complete radio. silence for about 30 years or roughly. the length of a single generation and. since wendle and Farah's generation. didn't learn the truth about at aten. until they were 18 they would have spent. their whole lives not only within this.

gaseous bubble but also hearing no. further instructions from any outside. contact by the end of the show of course. the barrier is dropped and they have a. view of the outside world but that also. makes them more vulnerable to other evil. things in the Galaxy like the shadow. Council or the first order using the. riches there to fund whatever evil. things they're going to be doing a. subject that could get explored in the. Mandalorian grou movie or in the thraw. air to the Empire movie or in any other. future Star Wars title the supervisor. catches J in his lie sees the impul I.

love how Steven Fry's voice drops from a. cheery Timber to a deep intimidation. mode the safety droids fire stuns at J. and I love how they move in the same. lowf frame rate widening ring that they. had in the 1977 film and J shows that. you can just use a lightsaber to Parry. stun blasts they disintegrate like water. balloons J uses the saber to stab the. supervisor Droid in its red eyee and it. wrenches out Droid arms and appendages. that we did not see before and while. it's hard to hear it croaks this as its. final words.

another unanswered question what exactly. the spherical mint mechanism was down. below who built that what powers it I. think it's some technology that dates. back to the Old Republic maybe some. technology that was lost to the present. era I love this detail When J pulls the. lightsaber out some of the metal has. melted down in a kind of teardrop Trail. but it also reminds me of the molten. effect of Quon jyn sticking his. lightsaber into the blast door on the. Trade Federation ship we see an overhead. shot of at Aton as the power goes out. across the grid I love how you can see. much of a planned city this was in.

addition to the outer rings of suburb. streets at the city center on the upper. right corner of it you can see what. looks like an Amphitheater or Sports. Arena this blackout includes all safety. droids deep into the suburbs and as. we'll see later the landing pad with onx. cinder J tries to override the barrier. to allow his frigate to get through. claiming he just wants to take home some. credits to leave but Fern warrants that. J really wants to stay and basically. rule the mint and all these workers and. control the rates of inflation for the. whole Republic J ignites his saber so. that it ends between the mother and her.

daughter and I like the sound design on. the hum of the blade as it es and pulses. like an animalistic. growl like I'm not sure we've ever heard. a lightsaber sound so threatening and. maybe it's just because it's the one. lightsaber in this title and it's used. in the presence of children and. civilians to stop him from bringing down. the whole barrier Farah shows J how to. hack the satellites to contact the frot. to only let the frig through Gunter we. should note looks like he was getting. pretty cozy on that captain's chair When. J calls in these Pirates always eager to.

Mutiny and stab each other in the back. whim realizes the safety droids have. lost power and shoves over the one in. the living room like jar jar and the. other gungin tipping the battle droids. and The Phantom Menace the giant frig. looms out of the clouds over the. neighborhood looking like the alien. battleships in Independence Day but then. with the immense pillar and the lights. over the town kind of a mix of the ship. from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. and the Martian tripods and Spielberg's. War the worlds the ithorian neighbor Mrs. ick and her frog dog return from the. very first episode we saw Frog Dogs.

originally in jabas Palace in Return of. the Jedi and I love how one of Neil's. first things to do since he got home was. to take another bubble bath but when. that frot search light comes directly. through the Skylight it's got to be. pretty unsettling for a kid to have that. light on him when he's in a tub like the. tripods and War of the Worlds there's a. silence followed by the Invaders opening. fire on the civilians the first thing we. see is this depowered car behind it in. the background on the left is that Mel's. Drive-In structure that we saw in. episode one as a reference to George. lucas' American Graffiti Neil's family. reacts but the twins in the grass sh out. pow pow excitedly while wendle and whim.

try to start their car KB and Neil ride. up I love that KB on ferns hover bike. has a badass engine purr while Neil's. bike gives us a little bike Bell ding. ding also He's Got The Handlebar tassels. I love these I also just appreciate KB. being in the driver's seat now of this. hover bike after Fern previously had to. drive it while KB was in the side car. window passes bonge falfa that was. Fern's hover bike rival from episode one. his name Bon falfa is a reference to Bob. falfa Harrison Ford's character from.

American Graffiti wle catches up to them. on Bon's hover bike which we never saw. him actually take from Bon so who knows. what he did but I love this cut too also. a grown man stealing a kid's bike is a. reference to Josh broland as brand. stealing the little girl's bike in The. Goonies to catch up to the kids the. Pirates raid the adaton town and. suddenly it's like the Pirate Invasion. of the town of Port Royale and the. Pirates of the Caribbean ride vay's drop. ship tries to cut off the four bikes. which leads to a really fun Chase. through the yards of the neighborhood I. love how the camera turns to follow Neil. and the others through the grass and the.

fences this whole bike Chase obviously a. nod to ET that's part of the reason it's. so thrilling to be on this ride KB leads. them over that same ramp over the. barrier fence that she and fern used in. episode one and whim and Neil didn't. think to use at the time whim shifts. gears to take his hover bike into full. throttle and the sound effect I think. was taken directly from The Phantom. Menace pod. [Music]. race they all jumped the Ravine full. which the Star Wars site confirmed is a.

nod to the bike flight in ET though I. guess a recreation of the iconic shot of. passing the moon or even passing the sun. might have been two on the nose but hey. this guy is also completely covered in. green gas clouds so there's really no. Celestial orb to use to recreate it. anyway but that's why I appreciate the. the final shot of this is an illuminated. full moon that they might not have even. known was there so now they can recreate. their ET flight whenever they want I. don't think I'm going out on a limb. saying that we all like to be. comfortable when we sleep nobody wants. to to wake up sweating bullets or with.

when they were fighting Wars with the. Sith and with the mandalorians but that. would not be anywhere around the time. now they don't realize that John. personally saw part of the Jedi Purge in. the years after Order 66 whim slips away. and they manag to restore the power to. The Landing Pad allowing the Onyx cender. to break free Neil covers her by using. the turbo laser to take out the frig's. Cannons KB manages to Pilot the Onyx. cender using SM 33's disembodied head. that build drat crawls out of s 33's eye. hole onto KB's head like Remy and. Ratatouille KB calls Kim a Leah shot. cat's character from episode 3 it is is. so funny to watch the build drat on the.

dashboard there not understand that Kim. is a hologram because he tries to like. paw at her Kim calls the new Republic. Fleet saying they're real pirate Busters. now at this point in Star Wars history. the new Republic Fleet would be under. the command of General Leia Orana with. commanders like Harrison dullah also in. key leadership positions we saw Hera in. Ahsoka and actually General Leia was. mentioned and it might actually be Leia. or Hera on that cr90 Corvette that shows. up the onx cinder gets hit by the. Pirates and it crashes back to that Aton. surface the kids watch a terror as they.

think KB is dead but if you'll notice at. the last second it steers into a more. controlled swoop and we don't see any. Fireball from behind the building so it. wasn't a full crash just falling with. style knowing the x-wings will need the. barrier down to engage the FR they go. for the barrier override lever each time. it seems like J is actually aiming for. the lever itself and not for the kids. because at the end of the day he doesn't. want to kill these kids instead he just. threatens wendle J finally reveals his. backstory I was living in a hole in the. ground and a Jed I found me she may have.

been desperate and ragged like me but. she told me I had potential she only. taught me a little before they hunted. her down and they made me watch whil. they killed her so J was an orphan who. was found by a female Jedi who was on. the Run herself and she trained him for. a time but was ultimately found by the. Empire and killed while the young jot. had to watch that would suggest that. that happened after Order 66 a female. Jedi who survived and was in hiding from. the inquisitors from Darth B Vader and. then ultimately the inquisitors or Vader.

or just Stormtroopers found her and. killed her so who was this probably not. someone we know like it wasn't gattle. Gatt had an earlier different death. before Order 66 that was shown in Tales. of the Jedi it wasn't luminara unduli. she was caught by the Empire and used as. a trap for Canan and Ezra she had been. killed while in custody it wasn't Shakti. who died a different death and was not. accompanied by any orphan kid at the. time some people are wondering Baris. offie from Clone Wars but her fate was. explored in Tales of the empire no j or. any orphan kid there some are also.

wondering about jokasta new the Jedi. Temple librarian well her fate was. explored in the 2017 Darth Vader comics. and while she did have some time after. The Purge we did see her death in those. comics and there was no orphan kid with. her then reportedly before the series. some are saying that there might have. been an actress named Haley Web cast for. the show as a Jedi character named nina. na wood maybe there was a scene that was. removed that was never confirm though I. just think they wanted this Jedi to be. one of the many Jedi out there who. survived but were eventually hunted down. my theory is that it might have been.

Lena the Jedi from whims story pad John. says this of the Galaxy it's dark with a. few pin Pricks of light he's not wrong. most of the Galaxy out there is empty. space it's the darkness he focuses on. but for the people of AD Aton they've. never even got to see those pin Pricks. of light so to them every bit of that. light means hope for them window punches. jaw and whim grabs the lightsaber notice. he turns it over in his hands this time. he has learned from his mistakes as J.

uses the force to pull Wendell's hand. back from the handle you can actually. see his bones start to. crack but Farah helps him pull it and. light like they have never seen looking. to us like natural sunlight fills the. room as the barrier gas dissipates now. since adaton receives a normal balance. of sunlight enough to sustain its. current plant life and ecology would. this not fry adaton from solar radiation. maybe but again it's Star Wars we got to. let it go like the kids saw in episode. one The Adult of this planet now see.

real stars for the first time in their. lives and it's followed by a site that. always gives us joy a squadron of. x-wings followed by two b-wings more on. those in a second first we see X-Wing. third pilot we see is an abanet race a. species created for the force awakens it. might actually be ELO ay from po damar's. black Squadron all the Abed netos in. Star Wars ever since have been named. after beasty boy songs because J.J. Abrams is a fan of the band so ELO ay. was named after Hello Nasty the other. abetos and the force awakens include. Crusher rud down which I think is based. off of root down there's ilco Muna which. I think is a reference to Ill. communication breson key reference to. Brass Monkey there's so Chu from so what. you want there's ADI mua from body.

moving there's all's outique based on. Paul's Boutique there's Slow and Low. from The Last Jedi based on Slow and Low. and then in the acolyte we met Senator. is Da Chu based on so Chu want so these. new Republic x-wings light up the. Pirates and then the b-wings oh my God. they do the composite beam attack yeah. we saw this in Rebels season 2 episode 7. wings of the master that era of the. bwing fighter was the Prototype B6 also. known as the blade Wing or the bevel.

Wing which is a prototype bwing heavy. assault star fighter designed and built. by the mon calamari engineer Quarry as. part of the project chantile what we see. here is a b-wing e star fighter or. b-wing expanded it's a modification of. the original slain and Corp Hill b-wing. Design the mark 2 model incorporates the. composite beam laser that the original. blade Wing prototype was designed with. in the role playing game this attack is. arguably what bwings are really best. made for and it's the first time we've. got to see them do this in live action. it is the ultimate kill move against the. frigate and I love it J doesn't join the.

others and sadly watches the frig. crashing and exploding non-verbally we. just get the slightest jot to J's future. he looks down and lament and then as of. sensing A New Path forward he just looks. upward and that's the last time we see. him kind of like Captain Jack Sparrow. this guy is always going to get away. there's always going to be some other. ship out there for him to Commander they. find the Onyx sender crashed in an. Atrium gold spilling out with KB she is. the ultimate treasure she's okay thanks. to SM 33's Landing she wakes up asking. did we win we heard this spoken early on.

in the show when J activated one of the. original battle droids when he was. looking for sm33 did we win but this. time they finally get to answer yes you. did win Neil takes the bill drat as his. new pet and our final image shows whim. seeing a few x-wings flying past. followed by a cr90 Corvette Blockade. Runner yes the same type of ship is a. tented for from the new Republic and. this kid is clearly excited to join the. resistance someday I'm going to assume. that on this ship is General Leia Orana. and the only reason we don't see who. inside is that well we don't need to see.

another CGI Leia do we we can just. imagine that she's inside saying hope. and I love that we end with a shot of. the Moon while we don't get the classic. amblin image that formed the amblin logo. of a kid on a bike steering across the. moon just the fact that we have a moon. in the sky now tells us that it's. possible I love the credits of the show. it show various Tableau from whim story. pad starting with that female Jedi Lena. I think that might be the female Jedi. who was the one who saved J we see the. shot of the Jedi Temple and the Jedi. facing that large monster that we saw in. the first episode then that looks like.

the Onyx Cinder flying over a valley. next we see a Jedi riding what looks. like a kadu and that Jedi is about to be. ambushed by TR oceans then a Jedi. meditating by floating rocks then I. think that same Jedi Lena fighting a. Sith then another Master healing a. Padawan maybe on daaba it looks like a. swamp planet and then the last Tableau. is the Skeleton Crew as the Onyx Center. takes off from mat Aton in episode 1 and. then we realized this story pad is. switching off when we're on whims bed. with its two action figures beside it. the very first shot that we got on the. adaton planet making this all a meta.

statement that this entire series The. Story of this skeleton crew of whim and. Fern and Neil and KB and sm33 on the onx. center is just another Legend meant to. inspire some other kids looking in at. this from another screen and those kids. are us and our kids and what a great.
