The. big screen show Peter's face with his. mask covering half of it, a recurring. image from the comics and a callback to. Peter seeing his reflection in the. puddle under the rubble in Homecoming. during his battle with Vulture. They. land on the Queensboro Bridge with the. nearby Roosevelt Island Tramway, the. same location as the final showdown. between Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man and. Green Goblin in the Sam Raimi. Spider-Man. And we're going to see in. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Roosevelt.

Island is a very important location to. the D.O.D.C. facility. It's where Cindy. Moon's character is being imprisoned and. where her escape will be accompanied by. a big psychic shockwave that spreads. throughout the city. They drop past. Flash, the shot that in years since. everyone has kind of made fun of as the. flat lighting and sometimes bad green. screen VFX of this movie. To be fair to. the film, it was shot during COVID and. if they weren't able to get this. miraculous movie done, the whole film. exhibition industry at the end of 2021. going into 2022 would have been far. worse off. On Flash's phone is the TikTok. feed of the Daily Bugle official, the. account hosted by Betty Brant leading up. to the film's release. They pop out in. front of Delmar's Deli, now labeled. And it. seems to be part of a recurring gag that. we're going to see in Brand New Day as. it sounds like we're going to see Yelena.

Actually, in a recent video we. talked about how Ned uncovered one of. these Czech news articles that talks. about the Mysterio events in Prague. And. then this ticker headline, "Political. turmoil continues in New Asgard." So we. learn in Thor: Love and Thunder that. King Valkyrie did find ruling tedious. and boring at times, but she became. chummy with Jane Foster after she became. Mighty Thor. Valkyrie battled Gorr the. God Butcher to help get back the kids of. New Asgard, and then offered refuge for. the Skrulls that Captain Marvel saved in. The Marvels. The same Skrulls that.

President Ritson declared he would kill, but he got replaced by President Ross, who's now on the raft. Who knows who the. president of the MCU is now. The DDC winds up taking tech from Stark. Industries, the same tech that they'll. continue to use in Ms. Marvel, Wonder. Man, and Brand New Day as they look to. identify monsters and contain enhanced. individuals, especially mutants. At this. point, the DDC has all sorts of goodies. including tech from Stark Industries, the Chitauri, Rocket Raccoon, Dark. Elves, Ultron, Thanos's ship, the.

Sanctuary 2, Sakarians, and of course. the stuff that the team were made for. Adrian Toomes. We know that's going to. include Shocker's gauntlet that we see. Spider-Man fighting the Hulk with in. Brand New Day and the full Scorpion suit. that they built for Mac Gargan. Matt. Murdock enters the movie. >> What is happening? >> [snorts]. [clears throat]. >> That's great. Thank you. >> This, honestly, was the biggest cheer in. all the screenings I saw. The dialogue. was a total meta commentary on the. insanity of this cameo at the time. This. one slam of the cane immediately.

confirmed as MCU canon over 100 episodes. of these Netflix shows and made possible. the full Daredevil Born Again era we're. now in. Peter says, "What is happening?". Because at the time audiences were just. unsure of the canonicity of the Netflix. era Daredevil in the MCU. Matt Murdock, who outed. himself to the public as Daredevil, is. now behind bars in the current MCU. continuity. Some speculate that's the. reason Spider-Man is fighting the Hand. in the prison. Those ninjas in the. trailer were confirmed to be the Hand. thanks to the fan event that recreates. Peter Parker's apartment. On his. computer, there's a text from Detective. Gene DeWolff, played by Liza. Colon-Zayas, that says, "I still cannot. figure out what the Hand is after. Let. me know if you have any leads." Charlie. Cox has not been confirmed to appear in. will still be in prison at the start of. season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again, I. don't know if we're going to get a. Daredevil and Spider-Man reunion in. Brand New Day. You can actually hear. the person who threw the brick shouting, "Mysterio forever!". >> Mysterio forever! >> Damn, Talos' fury really should have let. someone know that Mysterio was a fraud. And again, since Matt Murdock outed. himself publicly as Daredevil in the. Daredevil warning in season 2 finale, we. now have to wonder if Peter was watching. that news report and remembered this. moment of his attorney catching the. brick with his Daredevil reflexes. They. move into Happy Hogan's condo. >> Oh. Ah!

Quest, played by Henry Lewis, along with. his pal You, played by Jonathan Sayre. We last saw Dummy and You helping Happy. move everything out of Avengers Tower in. Homecoming. There's also his boxing mask. and gloves on the table, a call back to. his boxing days in Iron Man 2. On the. fridge is a drawing that Morgan Stark. made of her and Happy. There's another. one later by the laundry area. We later. hear this news report.

>> You'll put the Captain America shield on. the Statue of Liberty? Nah, that's ridiculous. The shield falling is. what almost causes MJ to fall to her. death and it's literally on that shield. where Peter almost makes his worst. choice. So really of New York were right. from the get-go. While Peter. doesn't have hypnosis powers, this does. foreshadow how the spell memory wipes. MJ. As Peter leans over to kiss MJ, his. textbook reads chemistry. Saw what you. did there. As Peter gets college. rejection letters, Dummy reassembles the. LEGO Death Star set that Peter and Ned. worked on in Homecoming, but at the end, Dummy breaks it like Ned did. So, I guess the bots. retracted around his pinched fingers. When he lands, there are Mysterio decals. on the lamp post and walls. There's also. a banner for the Statue of Liberty. remodeling referring to Lady Liberty as. NYC's newest Avenger. Peter discovers.

that both MJ and Ned also got rejected. from MIT, but you know who got in? This. jerk. >> NO SLEEP TILL BOMP BOMP. BOMP. BOMP. BOMP. Spider-Man is of course a reference to. the One More Day comic storyline, which. ends in a similar place with MJ and. Peter's best friend forgetting he's. Spider-Man. The storyline that followed. that comic arc was called Brand New Day, seemingly the inspiration for the title. of the upcoming Brand New Day film. Though Marvel has indicated that the. story for the film is inspired by a.

myriad of Spider-Man comics and not. necessarily the brand new day storyline. Doctor Strange takes Peter to the ruins. beneath the Sanctum, mentioning that. they are a thousand years old, and that. they shot an episode of The Equalizer. there in the '80s. The Equalizer was a. TV series that became a movie, and then. became a TV show again. Presumably, The. Ancient One okayed this deal, probably. for the sweet location fee. I love the. almost creepy, trance-like faces Doctor. Strange makes when he casts the spell. A. lot of blame gets thrown on Peter for. messing up the spell, but Doctor Strange. was so eager to do this spell against. the advice of his own Sorcerer Supreme. It really shows how the variant of.

Sinister Strange came to be, or how the. Strange of the 838 universe wasn't. afraid to use a dark hold to defeat. Thanos, because a trait of all Doctor. Stranges is the fearlessness to dabble. in dangerous magic, often to the. detriment of his own universe. After. asking Strange to exclude MJ from the. spell, he remembers Ned. >> Oh my god, Ned. >> What is a Ned? >> Strange pulled out a chunk of the magic. to observe Ned closely, something he. doesn't do for others, maybe an. indicator that Ned has hidden sorcerer. abilities that Strange can see here. When the Sanctum shakes, it knocks over.

the artifact in the lobby. This same. delicate thing that Thor knocks over in. Ragnarok. The Sanctum employee is also. holding the same style coffee cup that. Peter will keep as an MJ momento at the. end of the film, something we know Peter. still has in Spider-Man brand new day, and keeps his letter to MJ inside of, according to the released script pages. Peter screams, >> Basically, everyone that knew that I WAS. SPIDER-MAN BEFORE SHOULD STILL KNOW. >> THE moment Peter gives us our rule by. which the multiverse men cross over, right before Strange spots the purple. silhouette of the Lizard, the villain he. fights in kitchens offscreen later. Over.

Peter's left shoulder is one of the. other people, a Hulk in figure, which. must be Sandman, or maybe based on the. muscle definition, I think it could. actually be Venom, who also crossed over. to the MCU briefly during this event. Behind Lizard, you can start to see. glowing dots for dozens more, a hint. that beyond these nearer crossovers are. even more multiversal threats, like. Morbius, Kraven, and Madame Web. The. villains Spider-Man will have to deal. with in this film include Doc Ock, Green. Goblin, Electro, Sandman, and Lizard. Concept art for the film, though, included Mysterio showing up in the. final battle at the Statue of Liberty.

WHETHER OR NOT that was the 616's. Quentin Beck, we do not know. Other. pieces of concept art showed Peter. enlisting the help of Adrian Toomes'. It's you trying to live two different. lives, and the longer you do that, the. more dangerous it becomes, believe me. >> Words Peter will take to heart in. A deleted scene would have shown. them all the way in the elevator. Aunt May and Doc Ock. briefly connect in the kitchen, a nod to. them getting married at one point in the. comics. Sandman holds up a framed photo. of Morgan Stark reminding him of his. daughter Penny, who would be around the. same age. Peter plugs in the new. inhibitor chip to Doc Ock, and his claw. lights up go from red to white as they. did in the 2004 film to indicate Auto. regaining control. On the fabricator,

Behind and to the left here is actually. the Howard Stark Expo model from Iron. Man 2, and notice how the first person. he passes in his trance is Norman, the. source of the danger. The camera only. pulls away from Peter when May, who's. burning sage, >> What is it, Peter? >> And notice how the shot starts with. Norman and then ends with May. His Peter. tingle is telling him that there's a. connection between these two. Peter's. left hand just lightly begins to wave to.

Norman, but then Sandman asks what's. happening to distract Peter over to his. right, and in that moment of. distraction, Norman moves across the. room to dummy, which even Doc Ock views. as suspicious. And now it's Goblin. talking as he says, >> These are not curses. They're gifts. >> That's a callback to the 2002 film. >> This is my gift. My curse. >> Also, Willem Dafoe now shows the gap in. his teeth, which he didn't really have. when he smiled before. In the 2002 film, he wore veneers as Norman, but he.

shifted back to his normal teeth as. Goblin. As the villains escape, you can. see that Happy's apartment is right near. the old Pepsi Cola neon sign that. currently sits on the East River in. Queens. This sign was also featured in. the amazing final battle of Madame Web. As Peter fights Goblin, we see Happy. also has a painting of Tony's Roadster. hot rod as Peter punches his face. Goblin smiles more and more showing how. each hit is really just making him. stronger and crazier. Goblin hits May. with his glider and bombs the place on. his way out. He slices the Daily Bugle van telecom.

tower which actually does Jameson a. favor because in his shifty broadcast. after the incident he's able to lie and. say that this was all Spider-Man's. doing, not Goblin's. Here May drops the. big line. >> With great power there must also come. great responsibility. >> They actually used the original version. of the quote "There must also come" when. Stan Lee spoke it as exposition in the. comics. This quote is seen on Marisa. Tomei's title card in the closing. credits of the film. In Spider-Man brand. new day Peter will misinterpret this. wisdom to mean that he must remain alone. without his friends in order to protect.

Every time I rewatch this. movie I just forget how freaking sad it. is that Aunt May dies here. The movie. really breaks your heart at this point. But the fact that it does break our. hearts this much makes us so much more. elated and victorious when this next. scene happens. We're in Ned's Nana's. house where they also have that photo of. Ned and MJ from Homecoming. And it's.

even sadder here because Ned and MJ in. the scene are just once again without. Peter. Notice how she also has a sewing. machine but just to be clear this is a. different sewing machine than the one. Peter has at the end of the film. And. then it happens. Ned opens a sling ring. to try to find Peter but they find a. different Peter, ANDREW GARFIELD. SPIDER-MAN. AND AS SPIDER-MAN HE SAYS. >> String theory, multi-dimensional. reality, and matter displacement. All. real? You're uh. >> The piano notes under these lines are. actually James Horner's Amazing.

Spider-Man theme. I love the meta. wordplay between Andrew and MJ. >> Why do I need to crawl around? This leads to. the amazing rooftop scene where both of. the Peters kind of refer to their own. tragic losses and how that was really. the canon event that activated the great. things that came ahead. As Peter fights Norman on the shield, he. leaps up and punches down, denting the. metal, which totally would have been a. kill punch. He picks up the glider to. stab him with it the same way Goblin. died in the 2002 film, also evoking Cap.

bringing the shield down on Tony Stark. in Civil War. A parallel even more. obvious since they're fighting on a. representation of Cap's shield. Toby. jumps in and stops Tom from killing. Goblin, and there are no words. exchanged, just this meaningful look. where he's nearly coming to tears, just. not wanting this kid to grow rageful and. bitter. Goblin stabs him, and Tom. literally turns his body from one side. to another. He was in killing mode, and. now he turns the cheek. Andrew sees this. and assists the kid with the serum.

Homecoming, but we'll see what happens. in Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse. There was some other live-action. universe where Donald Glover played a. live-action Prowler. Maybe we could even. be seeing another different form of. animated Miles in a claymated form or. whatever. Peter tells Strange to just do. the spell, and they say goodbye. >> Thank you, sir. >> Call me Stephen. >> Thank you, Stephen. >> Still feels weird. >> I'll see you around. >> It's like. >> Calling back their banter earlier in the. movie, but also the very first time they. met in Infinity War, they bantered about. their real names. >> I'm Peter, by the way. >> Doctor Strange.

Tom Holland to thank the past two eras. of Spider-Man. Now, it is possible that. we could see Peter 2 or Peter 3 again in. either Avengers: Doomsday or Secret. Wars. Tom Holland has not been confirmed. to appear in Doomsday as of this taping. Brand New Day was originally scheduled. to be released between Doomsday and. Secret Wars, similar to how Ant-Man and. the Wasp released between Infinity War. and Endgame. But, with the updated. release schedule for Marvel, we're. likely to see something in a Brand New.

Day mid-credit scene or post-credit. scene that teases something for Doomsday. or Secret Wars since this will be the. last Marvel film before the Doomsday. release. I kind of feel like when we see. Battleworld form at the end of Doomsday, one of the regions of Battleworld will. be Spider-Island where all of these. Spider-Men could come back. Peter says. goodbye to Ned and MJ telling them that. they're going to forget who he is. Peter. tells them that he will come and find. them and explain everything. For one. last time, Peter and Ned do their. handshake, a move that I think might be. the key to jogging Ned's memory in Brand. New Day. Peter makes a promise to Ned. and MJ that he will find them and fix.

this, and that promise is important to. remember for anyone thinking that Peter. should just move on and let MJ and Ned. live their lives. He made a promise to. fix this to his best friend and the. woman he loves. Granted, it's a promise. that he won't deliver on for at least 4. years. But hey, they're in college. On. Peter's promise, MJ says, >> If you don't, I'm just going to figure. it out. I've done it before, I could do it. again. >> We know that Ned and MJ, too, spend time. trying to figure out who Spider-Man is. in Brand New Day, tracking down various. newspapers and clippings from the events. of the past three films, part of Ned's. big conspiracy wall, and his new app,

the Spidey Tracker. MJ says, "I love. you." And when Peter goes to say it. back, she tells him he has to wait until. he sees her again. Perhaps that I love. you will be enough to break the. memory-wiping spell, like the kiss. waking Sleeping Beauty. Peter and MJ. kissed one last time as Doctor Strange. completes the spell, sending everyone. back to their universe. And I guess. Peter just swings away from the Statue. of Liberty before Ned and MJ ask, "Who. the hell is that guy?" Now, there are. all kinds of unanswered questions about. what happened in the realities that. these characters all go back to. We have.

to assume that the multiverse men all. die the way they were going to die, but. those deaths would have different. meaning considering the lessons that. they learned on this journey. And what. do the spider worlds of Tobey Maguire's. Peter and Andrew Garfield's Peter look. like when they go back? Are things. looking a bit brighter for Andrew. Garfield's Peter? Again, these are all. questions that I would love to see. answered on Spider Island in Avengers: Secret Wars. In terms of the memory wipe. spell, though, the spell does not erase. the memory of Spider-Man, but rather. just the knowledge that Peter Parker is. Spider-Man. Physical items like. documents and photographs featuring. Peter are altered as well, similar to. the photograph in Back to the Future, as.

well as any digital record of Peter. Like, it's time to get a new passport, Maynard. A few weeks after this, Peter. returns to the Peter Pan Donut Shop, an. appropriate shop name for a Peter who. has to watch others through a window. living their lives without him. Peter. has written out what he wants to say to. MJ, and according to the small part of. it that we see during the credit. sequences on the graph paper, it says, "Dear MJ, you don't know me, so this is. going to sound pretty crazy." And then. he strike out. "But the truth is" strike. out. "But actually, you do know me, actually." However, we do hear Peter. practicing what he's going to say.

>> Hi. My name is Peter Parker. You don't know. me, but I. uh. >> Peter will keep this letter to MJ and. still have it in Brand New Day. In the. trailer, we can see part of the letter, which says, "Hi, my name is Peter. Parker, and you don't remember me, but I. have something to tell you that's going. to sound crazy, but it's the truth. And. I know you're going to believe me. because you're very good at telling when. I'm lying. We used to know each other. We were together, but something bad was. going to happen to the world, and the. only way to stop it was to make everyone. forget me, including you, because I'm. not just Peter Parker, I'm Spider-Man. And sometimes Spider-Man has to do the.

hard thing, even if it breaks Peter. Parker's heart. Maybe I'll never read. this to you. Maybe I'm just writing this. for me. Maybe that's my responsibility. to live alone with the truth. But the. truth is, I I you. And I hope deep down. something inside you remembers you love. me, too. Yeah, in the letter he says the. I love you that he didn't get to say. before the memory wiping spell was. completed. In this donut shop, MJ. attends to an older patron whom the. script calls a Stan Lee look-alike. I. suppose this was meant to be the film's. Stan Lee cameo, but really just to make. us do a double take to evoke déjà vu the.

way MJ feels in this scene. The script. also states that MJ is meant to watch. Peter go with a lingering sense of. recognition. That plus the fact that. she's still wearing the broken black. dahlia necklace implies that some part. of her still remembers Peter. She will. continue wearing this necklace in Brand. New Day. Technically, Happy Hogan was. the one who physically gave her the. necklace during the final act of Far. From Home. >> Sweaty guy in the towel with us. I think. he like works for you or something. He. gave me this. >> Does she remember that part? May's. gravestone has the birth and death dates. covered by flowers. A nod to Tony. Stark's questioning how young she is in.

Civil War. It's also possible that. Marvel did not want to commit to any. dates at the time of No Way Home's. release since many Phase 4 and Phase 5. projects that had their release dates. shuffled around in the post-pandemic. era. However, in Spider-Man Brand New. Day, we see that the dates on the grave. are 1964 to 2024. The quote reads, "When. you help someone, you help everyone.". which is what's written on her grave in. the Spider-Man PS4 game. Peter moves. into a new apartment. >> Rent is due on the first of the month. Don't be late. >> His squalid apartment evokes Peter's. crappy flat in the Raimi films, and.

while this voice is not Mr. Ditkovich, it definitely is meant to remind us of. that guy. >> You'll get your rent when you FIX THIS. DAMN DOOR. >> BY Brand New Day, it looks like Peter. will have moved into a larger, more. studio-style apartment. We see that. Peter is studying for the GED, meaning. that his academic records must have also. been wiped since so much of his Midtown. High identity was wrapped up in his. Spider-Man identity. On his shelf is the. We Are Happy to Serve You cup that MJ. gave Peter. The coffee cup that, by the. way, is really just a generic New York. area coffee cup that appears in. productions of literally every.

production shop in the city. He also has. the LEGO Palpatine figurine, which was. the first line we heard spoken by Ned in. this trilogy. Peter's suit is made of. brighter fabric now, clearly inspired by. the designs of the other two Spider-Men. The closing credits show his sketches of. a new logo. In the final sequence, Peter. slides through the snow on the rooftops. This actually, timeline-wise, would be. around the time of the big 30 Rock. Christmas tree battle in the Hawkeye. series. And also, we should acknowledge. that Peter no longer has the warmers. that the Tony Stark era of the suit had, so our buddy's cold right now. And then, if you look closely, our closing frame.

shows him diving right into camera, an. extreme close-up of his new mask, which. we can see is textured and porous. fabric. Yes, gone are the mechanical eye. pieces. This is just a cloth mask, a new. beginning. Peter will make a further new. homemade suit in Brand New Day using a. more elaborate custom-built fabricator. But, the suit will keep trying that red. and blue design reminiscent of Peter 2. and Peter 3. The spider emblem even. evokes the lanky legs of the Peter 2. design. It will not be the skin-tight. Stark-built suit that we're used to the. MCU Spider-Man wearing. The suit will. now ripple in the wind and wrinkle as he.

swings through New York City, similar to. Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man suit. So. much reminiscent of the Andrew Garfield. era that the production team includes. Jerome Chen, who is the VFX supervisor. on both The Amazing Spider-Man films. The mid-credit scene shows Eddie Brock. and Venom at a bar in Mexico since the. Venom: Let There Be Carnage mid-credit. scene saw them get sucked into the MCU. in what looks like a Mexican resort. Eddie talks to the bartender, played by. Cristo Fernández, who plays Danny Rojas. in Ted Lasso, all about the many heroes. of the MCU, including Hulk, who will. appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

They also talk about Iron Man and. Thanos, but Eddie and Venom end up. getting sent back to their universe to. wrap up their story in Venom: The Last. Dance. There's actually a crazy detail. in Venom: The Last Dance that Sony has. never answered as to why this Mexican. resort town in the 616 universe looks. different than in Venom's universe. It. looks slightly more futuristic and. advanced in the 616 universe. What was. Sony trying to say by that? We don't. know. All I really remember about that. movie is that Area 51 was featured and. it featured Here's to the ones that we. got. But, left behind, still in the 616. universe, is a tiny bit of the black.

Venom symbiote goo. And here is where we. finally deliver on our opening teaser. theory. You may have seen this discussed. online in other places, but in this. interview for Brand New Day, Tom Holland. confirmed that only one person remembers. that Spider-Man is Peter Parker in the. 616 universe. >> I think no one remembers that I'm. Spider-Man apart from one. >> Nobody remembers that you're Peter. Parker. >> They know they know who Spider-Man is. Peter Parker. >> Yeah, they know Spider-Man. They just. don't know. >> one person. >> Okay. >> And in that Venom let there be carnage. post-credit scene, there was this line.

from Venom that suggested that all Venom. variants across the multiverse share a. multiversal hive mind. >> 80 billion light years of hive knowledge. across universes would explode your tiny. little brain. >> Yep, and that scene ended with Venom. arriving to the 616 universe seeming to. somehow already know and recognize Peter. Parker licking at the TV screen. And. that's because in the Raimi-verse, that. Venom attached to the Eddie Brock played. by Topher Grace knew that Spider-Man was. Peter Parker. So, it would follow.

logically that all Venoms know that. link. And so, therefore, that would. leave this tiny bit of Venom goo in the. 616 universe as the one being left in. this universe that would remember that. Peter Parker is Spider-Man. It's one of. many reasons people really want Venom to. come back in some way in Spider-Man. Brand New Day. Now, when this released. theatrically, the post-credit scene was. the first trailer for Doctor Strange in. the Multiverse of Madness featuring a. crow that was cut from the final film. But, when this movie came out on. digital, at that point Multiverse of. Madness had already come out. So, they. included the more fun stuff version of.

the film, which actually added a new. post-credit scene called Betty's Corner. with Betty Brant. In this sequence, outgoing senior Betty Brant recaps her. time at Midtown as graduation. approaches. And since this vignette. takes place after Doctor Strange's. spell, you can see just how Peter Parker. was removed from photos and memories. First, we see the Academic Decathlon. team getting ready to board the bus to. DC in Spider-Man Homecoming with no. Peter there. Because in Spider-Man. Homecoming, Peter runs up and Flash. Thompson confronts him. But now, as. Peter doesn't appear in this scenario, you can see Flash just remains leaning.

against the bus in the background behind. Liz. There's footage of Mr. Harrington. and Mr. Dell at the hotel in Prague in. Spider-Man Far From Home, likely shot by. Flash, who is always vlogging during. that trip. Actually, at this moment in. Far From Home, Peter stepped away to. take a phone call from Soren and Maria. Hill, one of many moments in his life. where Peter was actually away from his. friends due to his Spider-Man duties, making the memory wiping spell even more. effective because he really missed out. on a lot of the hangs with his friends. and classmates. There's a photo from. that same Europe trip at the Piazza San. Marco in Venice, but a pigeon is flying. in front of Peter's face. Then Ned and.

Betty riding on a gondola. They would. actually get saved by Peter from that. gondola when the water elemental. attacked, but of course, they don't. remember him now. More footage shot by. Flash of Mysterio's attack in London on. the Tower Bridge. You can see the red. double-decker bus that they were on. behind them, plus some footage from. inside the Tower of London when the. drone attacked. Betty points out how. they traveled the world and almost died. multiple times. There's Ned and MJ's. photo from the Homecoming dance. At this. point, Peter was off fighting Vulture, which is why he isn't in that photo. already. But, we see the moment Betty. and her Midtown News co-host, Jason.

Ionello, dusted live on air, which is. pretty dark, but they blipped back on. set to their replacement. And I guess. the fact that they hosted it after the. blip means that they just 86'd that. replacement, which is very funny. Ned. and Flash talked to Peter during the. Homecoming era, as indicated by the. banner above the lockers, but Peter's. back is to the camera. Betty, Flash, Liz, and Ned and MJ all lean on the. lockers with Peter's arm just poking in. from offscreen. There's more footage. from Tower had already slipped away to. fight Mysterio in Far From Home at this. point, and Betty and Jason on the. Midtown News again, the same report they.

were doing on the Decathlon team. surviving their DC attack thanks to. Spider-Man. I love all the little. details they had to have Peter just. slightly out of focus or off frame or. covered by something or just erased from. the photo. Really, really cool the. intricate ways that Doctor Strange's. physical reality-warping spell ends up. working. And Betty ends the segment by. saying, "What's important is that we. made it. And as you look out onto an. exciting and uncertain future, just. remember the memories that we've made. here at Midtown High are the ones we'll. cherish forever. Not realizing that her. cherished memories have been altered by. a memory wiping spell. And as the final.

film of the Jon Watts Spider trilogy, No. Way Home has set the biggest stage. leading into Brand New Day. And it's. clear that Destin Daniel Cretton is. taking so much from these three films, particularly the last one, to inform who. Peter Parker is at this point in his. life. Fully on his own without the. support structure. Thinking that Aunt. May's words on great power and great. responsibility mean he has to be alone. Focusing on being the best Spider-Man. for New York City at the expense of the. happiness of Peter Parker. It almost. sounds like the dual identities of Bruce. Banner and the Hulk, someone he will try. to turn to for help in Brand New Day. Looking back at these three films, I'm.
