Spider-Man AFTER Brand New Day: Next Movie In 2029?

So, we're pretty sure Miles Morales will. be in the next Spider-Man movie in 2029, but there is an equally important. must-have for this movie that's going to. piss off a lot of you after you watch. this video. Welcome back to New. Rockstars. I'm Eric Boss. And. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is breaking. all kinds of box office records on track. to be the highest-grossing domestic. movie of all time, currently sitting at. $929 million domestic and $2.4 billion. worldwide, easily the most profitable. Spider-Man movie of all time. So, you. know that Sony, Marvel Studios, and the.

full casting crew are going to be eager. to make another one of these films. We. are probably looking at 2029 at the. earliest. And in this video, I'm going. to break down the full timeline, everything we know about this fifth. movie, the broader Spider-Man plan at. Marvel Studios and Sony, and at the end. of this video, what I think could be the. biggest mistake they could make with the. fifth one. So, here's the deal. We know. that after Spider-Man: No Way Home came. out, Tom Holland went to YouTube and. other social accounts to see what the. fans like us most wanted to see from the. next Spider-Man movie. And doing that. resulted in the most profitable.

Spider-Man movie of all time. So, here. we are, a month after Spider-Man: Brand. New Day came out. So, Tom, if you're. watching on those breaks between dance. training for that Fred Astaire movie. you're making, here's where we think. Spider-Man needs to go next. Day was fully released and started. breaking all of its box office records. throughout August, director Destin. Daniel Cretton indicated that he would. love to come back to direct the next. film, and executive producer Amy Pascal. supported the idea. Deadline asked. Destin Daniel Cretton, "Considering the. success of this film and the way you've. embedded your pathos into Spider-Man, is. it safe to say that you're interested in. returning to do the next movie?" And. Cretton said, "Sure, are you offering me. a job, Destiny?" And then Amy Pascal. told SFX Magazine, referring to Destin. Daniel Cretton, "Destin has really blown. all our minds, and we hope that he will. continue to make Spider-Man movies with. us. The thing about Destin is he's an.

incredibly gifted action director, but. there is not one thing in this movie. that doesn't come from emotion and heart. and character. As much as we loved. working with Jon and he made a certain. kind of movie, Destin has made something. really special, too. And then just this. week, Ravi Ahuja, chairman and CEO of. Sony Pictures Entertainment, he's. actually who Tom Rothman, the chair of. the studio's motion pictures group and. the effective studio head, Ravi is the. one he reports to. Ravi spoke to Variety. about brand new day's success and when. Tom Holland movie might come. He said, "There's so much appeal to the character. of Peter Parker, so much appeal to the. character, but you got to execute it.

right." And this movie really did. And. when asked when the next one's coming. out, he said, "We don't have a date for. it yet, a couple years usually, but. there's a Spider-Verse movie coming next. year." Now, as part of the development. timeline uncertainty is Destin Daniel. Cretton is next working on the Naruto. movie for Lionsgate, which will be. filming in the first half of 2027. This. according to The Hollywood Reporter's. Heat Vision newsletter on August 7th. Comicbook.com reported that Naruto will. be making an appearance at New York. Comic Con on October 10th and we expect. them to learn more about this movie. including its possible release date. We're assuming in 2028. While it.

generally only takes two to three months. to shoot a movie on that kind of scale, Cretton would then have to spend the. back half of 2027 and maybe even the. first few months of 2028 overseeing. post-production on that film. I would. say that the soonest he could start. working on the next Spider-Man movie. would be 2028. And if Sony sticks with. him for a fifth Spider-Man movie, that. would keep things open for a 2029. release date for Spider-Man 5. Tom. Holland's known upcoming projects that. would conflict with anything would. include rumored appearances in the next. two Avengers movies and of course the. Fred Astaire biopic he's working on. But.

yes, Sony is next focused on Spider-Man. Beyond the Spider-Verse which is coming. June 13th, 2027. That's going to be the. conclusion to the animated Miles Morales. trilogy and it will not be until after. that that Sony or Marvel Studios. announce any plans for a live-action. Miles Morales. Just a reminder, here's. the Marvel film slate as we know it so. far. Avengers: Doomsday is coming. December 18th, 2026. Spider-Man: Beyond. the Spider-Verse coming June 18th, 2027. Avengers: Secret Wars coming December. 17th, 2027. Marvel Studios X-Men coming. May 5th, 2028. Ghost Rider coming July.

28th, 2028. And Black Panther 3 coming. December 15th, 2028. And then, Disney. has put placeholders on three 2029 dates. for to be announced Marvel Studios. films. May 4th, 2029, July 13th, 2029, and November 9th, 2029. A recent Sneak. Peek podcast speculated what those could. be. But, it is totally possible that. Marvel could change or release those. dates. Similarly, they penciled in. December 21st, 2029 for Avatar 4, but we. still don't know yet if James Cameron is. coming back to do a fourth movie of that.

series. If I had to put money on it. right now, Marvel and Sony have their. eyes on July 2029 for a fifth Spider-Man. movie. I also have a hunch that. Christopher Nolan might be eyeing. specifically July 13th, 2029 for his. next movie. Nolan is this industry's. most efficient filmmaker who has proven. that he can turn his movies around every. 3 years without any production delays, and he specifically loves two weekends. after the 4th of July for every one of. his movies to release. And when he wants. to do something, everyone just kind of. gets out of his way. But still, Universal, Sony, and Disney, and really.

every cinema in the world would love to. recreate the perfect storm of conditions. that we've had in summer 2026 in summer. 2029 to break the records that we've. seen this summer. On July 22nd, Kevin. Feige spoke to China's Watching. Hollywood news outlet about the future. of Miles Morales, and really the future. of several Spider-Man movies that are in. the works. He was asked, "With. Spider-Man: Brand New Day about to be. released, I have a question about. Spider-Man, and I'll get straight to the. point. Will there be a Spider-Man 5 in. the Peter Parker series? And what's the. current status of Miles Morales, my. personal favorite Spider-Man? I recall. you saying that a live-action Miles. Morales project would have to wait until.

the Spider-Verse animated films ended.". And Kevin Feige said, "One of the fun. things about this business is that we're. always dreaming and coming up with. ideas. There's a line in Spider-Man: No. Way Home where Electro says, 'Somewhere. there's bound to be a black. Spider-Man.'" Audiences around the world. were thrilled because they knew it might. be a hint at a Spider-Man Miles. The. good news is Sony has the Spider-Man. Into the Spider-Verse series, which are. very popular and excellent, and Beyond. the Spider-Verse is coming out next. year. But yes, we definitely have plans. for a live-action Miles, and I think a. live-action Spider-Man movie has this. destiny to add Miles sometime after the.

Spider-Verse series ends. We've been. thinking and discussing more Spider-Man. adventures, regardless of agreements or. contracts. My production partner, Amy. Pascal, is already working on it, and. we've had in-depth discussions about. what the next two, three, four, and five. Spider-Man movies might be about. >> Woah. So, when it comes to Peter. Parker's future with Miles Morales, Tom. Holland around this time told outlet. Hobby Consolas before Brand New Day came. out this. >> I think at this point in time, we're. being really open-minded about what the. future looks like. I know that I have.

aspirations to bring Miles Morales into. the universe, however that works out, you know, we've got a lot of work to do. to bring that to life. I feel incredibly. grateful for the way I was introduced. into this world, and that I was. shepherded by. >> [music]. >> RDJ, and I would love to kind of return. that favor to the next generation of. people that get the luxury of making. these movies. Um so, that is definitely something that. I'm really working towards. [music]. >> And after Spider-Man Brand New Day came. out, Tom Holland touched on the subject. again with Josh Horowitz on a Happy Sad.

Confused podcast. >> You've talked before about like we all. want to see Miles at some point, Miles. Morales. Like in your in your head, will. you know when it's time to kind of pass. the baton, and like have you imagined. how you want that to go down? >> There's a whole plan that we have been. working on for I would say since we. finished Spider-Man No Way Home. And. it's like laid out, it's going to change. for sure, but I have a really clear. vision to the passing on of the baton. And I think it's really exciting. I know. I get really excited when we have these.

meetings and chat about it. But that is. the thing that I want to do most in this. character. >> Yeah. >> For sure. >> Do you think there's room for. concurrent, like for you know, there was. talk after No Way Home, a lot of. different talk. Andrew could do it thing. in his multiverse, etc. From a fan. perspective, cuz you were a fan first. >> Yeah, yeah. >> to see that? Like do you. >> Of course I do. Are you kidding? I think. what's been so fun over these last few. years is that there are so many. different Spider-Man mediums. You know, we have Spider-Man: Into the. Spider-Verse that came out a few weeks. ago. We have my version. We have, you. know, the stuff that Sony's been doing.

We have the animated movies that Sony. make, which are just like the best. Spider-Man movies that have ever been. made. >> Yeah, unfortunately, I think Josh was. asking about the possibility of. concurrent Spider-Man to see if Tom. Holland's Peter Parker could live on at. the same time as the future Miles. Morales, so that Peter wouldn't have to. necessarily die for Miles to become. Spider-Man. But, Tom Holland just ended. up taking the question in an Elseworlds. direction. In the past, Kevin Feige has. said that they needed to wait until. after Beyond the Spider-Verse came out. in June 2027 before they could do. anything with a live-action Miles. Morales. But, he has also teased other. characters who could team up with.

Spider-Man. In July 2025, he told CBR. that a Spider-Man Human Torch team-up. was on the table, saying, "One of the. key relationships in Marvel Comics, Johnny Storm and Peter Parker, and we've. never been able to come close to it. before, and now it is in the realm of. possibility. That's exciting." Many of. us have also been pushing for a. live-action Spider-Man movie where. Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk Kingpin. could be the villain. D'Onofrio has said. that there are some legal rights issues. that prohibit Kingpin from being in a. Spider-Man movie. But, when asked about. that by Josh Horowitz, Kevin Feige and. Amy Pascal said that that was not. necessarily true, and that a deal for.

Kingpin could actually get worked out. >> go to so-called street level, a lot of. characters were talked about. Was there. ever Did you ever go down the road of. Daredevil, Kingpin? From what like. Vincent has said, there are some rights. issues on the on the Kingpin side. >> Right. >> They're not. They're not. I mean, they're they're things to navigate like. everything else, but but we did. So, what street-level world does. Peter Parker continue to occupy at the. end of Brand New Day that could be. explored in a fifth film? Well,

Spider-Man: Brand New Day set director. Will Dickson shared the complete Peter. Parker villain board from the movie, filled with Easter eggs. Now, before you. get on this guy, he did confirm that no. AI was used in these drawings, that. these were done by human artists. And it. is true that certain human-drawn concept. art styles just look like what AI tends. to spin out because those AI models were. trained on this style of art. And maybe. we should just cool it with dog-piling. on creatives when they come out and say. that AI was not used in what they made. Anyway, I already broke down a lot of. what's on this board in our more Easter. eggs video, but now looking at it, we.

can see all the other villains in Peter. Parker's New York. That includes Yes, the mug shot of Mac Gargan with a. specific comic book origin on the card. he's holding, and on his paperwork, Michael Mando's actual birthday. But we. also see a nod to Hammerhead, and we. learn that Tombstone and Hammerhead's. respective gangs had a turf war in this. New York. We see nods to Screwball, Frank Oliver aka Kangaroo, Human Fly, Hypno-Hustler, the Enforcers, Man-Mountain Marko, who's potentially. dead, Black Fox, Bullseye, and Dr. Jonas. Harrow. Also on this board, we see that.

Peter suspected that Mac Gargan's. scorpion was being funded by J. Jonah. Jameson and Peter thinking that all. these villains would travel by subway. train line. We also see sightings for. the New Avengers Tower of the MCU, the. offices of Murdock and McDuffie from. Daredevil Born Again, Romita's bar, and. the bar with no name, the neutral ground. hangout bar for the low-level. supervillains from Spider-Man comics. And while Will Dixon was just a set. decorator and Destin Daniel Cretton. doesn't have to use this exact world for. a fifth Spider-Man movie, it shows that. the overall intention of Brand New Day. was to establish a busy city of.

Spider-Man villains that Peter spent. these past four years dealing with. Now, Spider-Man Brand New Day left us with. enough questions for now. What should we. make of Ned's Spidey Tracker app in the. post-credit scene and what it tells us. about Spider-Man in Avengers: Doomsday? Well, my thinking for now is that this. tracker is pointing to a different. Spider-Man arriving from another Earth. and an incursion in Doomsday and that. Tom Holland's Peter Parker will appear. in Battleworld in Secret Wars in 2027. And maybe in that movie we will finally. see Tom Holland in a Venom-sourced black. suit because this is going to be. Marvel's one-shot proper Secret Wars.

crossover event. But beyond Secret Wars, there are still our other questions for. Peter Parker in his community. Does Ned. remember Peter Parker at the end of. Brand New Day? Does MJ still love Peter? What will be Peter's relationship with. Jean Grey and the other mutants that. she's about to meet? Will Peter bear any. responsibility for inventing mutant. inhibitor technology? Will Peter ever. connect with Miles Morales or for that. matter Gwen Stacy, Cindy Moon, and other. spider characters in this universe? Where did Hulk go and will Peter ever. help him escape? Will we continue to see. Peter Parker develop a partnership with.

Yelena Belova in the New Avengers lineup. of the MCU after Secret Wars? Well, to. begin to answer these questions, let's. end this video with five pitches for. Spider-Man 5 coming we think in July. 2029. One, we need Miles Morales. I. mean, he's the most famous Marvel. character that we've never seen in live. action and we have waited long enough. And I think we need at least one movie. where Peter and Miles are working. together. Two, we need a proper Spidey. villain hierarchy. Since it sounds like. Kingpin isn't really the legal rights. no-go that he's been made out to be. We. need to see Peter face the iconic.

Spider-Man villains from his world and. his tradition, including Kingpin, Norman. Osborn, and yes, Mr. Negative. I'm not. saying we need all these characters in. one movie. We don't need a full Sinister. Six anytime soon. We really just need. one villain who is scary to both Peter. Parker and to Miles Morales. Three, in. the mutant saga, we need some more X-Men. tie-ins. No, not every Spider-Man movie. needs to be an X-Men movie, but since. Spider-Man Brand New Day, the most. profitable Spider-Man movie of all time, introduced Jean Grey to the MCU, that. established a standard and an.

expectation that future Spider-Man movie. going audiences will have. And the movie. established Peter Parker as really the. Oppenheimer of the mutant saga, the one. who invented mutant inhibitor. technology. And I think we need to see. how Peter at least exists in an MCU. where other mutants also exist. Four, we. need Peter with the Fantastic Four. Kevin Feige has a Peter-Johnny Storm. collab on his vision board, and he. should. But also, Marvel Studios needs. Spider-Man to elevate the status of the. Fantastic Four in this universe. And Tom. Holland and Joseph Quinn just have such. matching humor and vibes that I think. fans will go nuts if we see them.

together. And five, buckle up, folks. We. need the real New York City. This is a. personal plea from Eric Voss to New. Rockstars to anyone who works at these. studios making these decisions. Bring. Spider-Man back to New York City. Nothing against our friends in Glasgow. and London where they shot the wonderful. Spider-Man Brand New Day, and the locals. in those towns were so supportive, and. we're grateful to you. And Tom Holland, we know that you're English, and we love. the effort that you're putting into this. character to embrace Peter's Queens. roots. But times are changing, folks.

And if you're bringing Miles Morales. into this movie, and if you're doing it. right, and casting an actor. representative of the black and Puerto. Rican community in Brooklyn, Disney and. Sony also need to bring these friendly. neighborhood Spider-Man back to the. neighborhood. American audiences know. when you shoot in a different city and. say it's New York. Even if you've never. been to New York, you know when it's the. streets of another city. This is in the. tradition of the Spider-Man character. Toby Maguire's era of Spider-Man shot in. New York. Andrew Garfield's era of. Spider-Man shot in New York. Marvel. Television's Daredevil Born Again is.

currently shooting in New York. The. talent is in New York. The history is in. New York. The culture is in New York. And if you don't support the industry. here in America, that industry will. suffer, and it might not last forever. And at that point, there will be no. Hollywood export to outsource to our. friends across the pond. Look, I get it. Disney has outsourced much of its. production to the UK to take advantage. of generous tax incentives. But, in. recent weeks, one rare unifying cause. that America's broken political system. seems to be able to get behind is a.

proposed federal tax incentive to bring. these productions and working-class jobs. back to America. And not just LA and New. York, all 50 states. Unfortunately, I'm. guessing any tax incentives that our. Congress passes will not include. above-the-line subsidies for the. top-level talent, the director, the. cast, the screenwriters, because I just. don't think American voters are going to. like the idea of giving tax relief to. celebrities. Whereas, the UK culturally. sees actors and directors as artists, that they're more willing to support. with their incentives that they're. currently offering. But, Sony and.

Disney, maybe use some of that $929. million that North American audiences. just gave you to make up the difference. there. So, I'm calling on these studios. and every fan of Spider-Man, every fan. of Miles, all of the American film. industry, and every New York area. political leader, take up this cause. I'm pleading this even as an LA resident. whose hometown is going to get nothing. from doing this. I love New York City. that much. Remember, there was a time. >> You mess with Spidey, you mess with New. York. You mess with one of us, you mess. with all of us. >> I mean, come on, you know if they shoot.

YouTube is now just trying to compete. really with Meta and with TikTok and.
