No One’s Talking About This from the Avengers Doomsday Trailer And It’s Driving Me Insane

Wait a minute. What the hell is that red. thing? Welcome back to New Rockstars. I'm Eric Voss, and there's been one. thing bugging me about Dr. Doom's armor. from the recent Avengers: Doomsday. trailer that I have not been able to. resolve. And it's this glint of red on. the left clasp of Dr. Doom's armor. This. little dash of red has actually been. right under our noses for a while. And. based on what we've learned about Dr. Doom and what Marvel Studios really. wants us to focus on for Avengers: Endgame Encore, the re-release coming. September 25th, I think I might have.

connected some dots. Not just on what. this is, but how Dr. Doom is so. powerful, what happened to his dead. family, and how Doomsday really is a. direct sequel to Endgame. Let's break it. all down. Now, we love it when our fans wear our. gear out in the world and post a selfie. and tag us like Original Nacho and your. best friend Stevo. Okay, so this little. glint of red on Dr. Doom's armor was not. visible in the July 20th trailer. And it. was not seen in any of the banner prints. of the armor that we've seen throughout. the past year. Actually, the first time. we saw it was at San Diego Comic-Con in. the Dr. Doom armor that was put on. display on the convention floor. We just. didn't notice it cuz we were all so. focused on whatever that ribbon was tied. around his other arm. That was probably. a reference to the family that he lost. But then that evening in the Doomsday.

trailer that was shown in Hall H, we did. see it. And we definitely noticed it. when it was released on YouTube during. D23 on August 14th. You can see it quite. clearly in the shot of the camera. craning down on Doom from the overhead. shot down over his hood to see his mask. This is a shot with at least two. Latverian witches standing beside him. and behind him in the background. You. can also see this red crystal or gem on. the clasp in the Iron Studios Dr. Doom. figurine where people think he's holding. the Ultimate Nullifier. Now, whenever we. see a red crystal or gem, the first. thought of any Marvel theorist is that. this could be the reality stone, one of.

the six Infinity Stones. Well, yes, that's exactly what I think it is. But, hear me out. It's not just the one. stone, but all of the stones that I. think makes Doctor Doom so savage in. this movie. In the two trailers that. we've seen, when Thor swings. Stormbreaker at Doctor Doom and Doom. simply stops it with two fingers, that. already told us that the sorcery that. Doctor Doom enchants his armor with must. be equal to or greater than the full. power of Stormbreaker, a weapon that we. know was stronger than the combined. strength of the six Infinity Stones. bound together by the Infinity Gauntlet.

If in that critical moment of Avengers: Infinity War, that weapon was able to. cut through the full blast of those six. stones together and then wedged in. Thanos's chest and would have cut off. Thanos's head if Thor's aim was better, then whatever power Doctor Doom has now. must be greater than Thanos with all the. stones. And while I am completely okay. attributing that power fully to Doctor. Doom's sorcery, I think there's room in. that interpretation for the possibility. that Doom's sorcery also helped him. obtain the six Infinity Stones in his. past within his timeline. The MCU has. already confirmed for us that each.

reality contains its own set of Infinity. Stones. In the first episode of the Loki. series, the TVA has a whole junk drawer. full of Infinity Stones gathered from. pruned timelines that were completely. powerless paperweights in the TVA due to. the agency's anti-magic barriers. And in. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of. Madness, the 838 universe had its own. Infinity Stones and its own Thanos that. we saw defeated in a past Infinity War. conflict where that universe's Doctor. Strange used the Darkhold and created an. incursion to defeat that Thanos. So, if. the 838 universe had its own stones that.

were deadly enough to lead that. Illuminati to feel that they had to do. what they did, it stands to reason that. the 828 universe of the Fantastic Four, a universe that we now know Victor Von. Doom comes from, also has its own. Infinity Stones. The Avengers: Endgame. On Core trailer that released last week, which I broke down the enhanced visuals. of in this video, included some odd. selections from the Endgame footage to. sell this On Core re-release event with. and its bonus few minutes of doomsday. teaser footage odd shots that include. one shot of Steve Rogers at the end of. the movie with the suitcase full of. Infinity Stones to return them in the.

timeline and this line from Tony Stark. >> You mess with time, time it tends to mess back. >> Which I pointed out was actually a new. altered line from what the original. version of the line was in the 2019. Endgame film. >> You mess with time, it tends to mess. back. >> So from these choices, Marvel clearly. wants us to focus on the temporal. consequences of the Avengers' actions in. that movie and who in the multiverse. might have been impacted by those. choices and specifically what Steve. Rogers did or didn't do on that return. journey that unfolded off screen. In. other videos I brought up this warning.

from the Ancient One from Avengers: Endgame that I think will be. retroactively redefined to set up Doom's. rise and doomsday. >> The Infinity Stones create what you. experience as the flow of time. Remove. one of the stones. and that flow splits. Now this may. benefit your reality, but my new one not. so much. In this new branch reality, without our chief weapon against the. forces of darkness, our world would be. overrun. Millions will suffer. >> But what I haven't talked enough about. is what the Ancient One says right.

before this. >> Please. Please. >> I can't help you, Bruce. If I give up the Time Stone to help your. reality, I'm dooming my own. >> Dooming my own? She knew. She knew the. whole time. What did the Ancient One. know? >> I don't know why, but the month of. September always feels like a major. transition for me. Like I haven't been. in high school since high school, but. because I spend so many of my formative. years treating September like the start. of some big new adventure, it's just. hard to flip that switch off. And it's. not just the residual inertia of going.

But I think when you look closely at. all the shots we've seen of Doctor Doom. in Avengers Doomsday, an argument can.

certainly be made that he already has. most of, if not all of the Infinity. Stones. If this red crystal in his. armored clasp is the reality stone, that. might explain why he can transfigure his. suit midair, as we see him doing in the. second trailer, into a suit that also. has a clasp, just the one that's. normally on the other side of his armor. that has this little rectangle shape in. the middle. Maybe this clasp has another. Infinity Stone because now this single. clasp looks like it has a little dark. notch at the top of the rectangle on it. Maybe we're looking at the purple power. stone there, folks. Whether or not the.

power stone is right here, we know. Doctor Doom packs a kind of whammy that. the power stone has by the way that he. launches the god of thunder off of his. feet and flings his flimsy battle axe. aside. But what about the space stone? The power of teleportation to anywhere. in the known universe. Well, we do have. to remember that Doctor Doom suddenly. appeared somehow in the Baxter Building. penthouse to be beside Franklin Richards. in that Fantastic Four for steps. post-credit scene with an immediacy that. caught Sue Storm off guard and didn't. set off any security alerts. Actually, we might have already seen what that. tech looks like in the MCU. In. Multiverse of Madness, when Reed.

Richards from the 838 universe appears. on the Illuminati dais, he teleports. into the room from this blue square. Multiverse of Madness producer Richie. Palmer said in the film's commentary. that Marvel artist Ryan Meinerding based. it on Doctor Doom's time platform in the. comics. Now, Doctor Doom's time. platform, which appeared with him in his. first comic appearance in 1962's. Fantastic Four number five, has the. ability to change history. It's a time. travel device. Actually, anyone who. stands on this platform can be sent back. into the past. Doom kind of uses it as a.

sneaky trap where Reed, Johnny, and Ben. were just kind of idiotically standing. on the wrong spot. But, producer Palmer. made it clear in his quote that this. tech in the movie was only used for. teleportation, not time travel. And its. blue color and pulsating energy makes it. look like something powered by the. Tesseract space stone technology. I. think Doctor Doom and Doomsday will get. around using a square like this. Does. Doctor Doom have the time stone? Well, if he did, couldn't he just invert. whatever bad things happened to him, like the loss of his wife and child and. the scarring upon his face? Sure, unless.

those things were caused by other. Infinity Stones or cosmic forces too. powerful or too complex to be undone by. the time stone alone. Or if they were in. some way caused by the time stone. themselves or some other stone. More on. that theory in a bit. But, I do think. there's something to the Ancient One. using the time stone in her example with. Bruce Banner in Infinity War and the. importance of Tony Stark's line in. Endgame that they put it in the encore. trailer. >> You mess with. time tends to mess back. >> And maybe the green glow that we're. seeing emit from Doctor Doom's sorcery. to resurrect and control the Sentinels.

is in fact his use of the green time. stone to revert the broken Sentinels to. their previous operational status and. mutant hunting function that they had. before they were broken. Does Doctor. Doom have the mind stone? Well, there. have been some rumors that Doctor Doom. might be mind controlling certain people. in this movie, people who might even be. under the masks of the Latverian. witches. I won't go into it in this. video, but if you know, you know. But, part of the mind stone's powers are also. allowing people to see illusions and. false realities and really just to. possess the divine cosmic wisdom of.

what's to come, like foretelling Wanda. Maximoff's destiny as the Scarlet Witch. or just being the greatest source of. intelligence in the universe. And. everything these trailers and the. directors have told us is that Doom is. impossibly smart. >> Victor was always the smartest guy in. every room. >> And lastly, does Victor von Doom have. the Soul Stone? Here's where things get. tricky. Of the six stones, we have the. least understanding of what the Soul. Stone actually does. What we know the. most about is the sacrifice of what's. required to obtain it. There were. specific moments during the Battle of. Titan in Avengers: Infinity War where we.

saw the orange stone illuminated on. Thanos's gauntlet if you look closely. In one instance, it was right after. Thanos sent a power stone shockwave to. take out a few of the Guardians of the. Galaxy. In another instance, it was when. Thanos was trying to identify which of. the duplicate Doctor Stranges contained. Strange's actual soul. But we do know. that the Soul Stone was required to link. with the souls of the billions of lives. that Thanos dusted, which is why when. someone snaps, they are transported to. this orange tinted soul realm to meet. with the soul sacrificed to obtain the. gem. If we go back to the assumption. that Doctor Doom would have all six.

stones in possession to be able to. resist Thor's Stormbreaker hit, how. would he have gotten the Soul Stone? Would Doom have sacrificed his wife or. child to get that stone? Did these loved. ones die in separate events? Like maybe. the child died as a result of the. incursion caused by Steve Rogers'. actions and Victor sacrificed his wife. on Vormir in the 838 universe to get the. Soul Stone to counteract all of these. tragic events? Or perhaps the wife died. first and like Thanos, Victor threw his. daughter over a cliff on Vormir with the. hope of one day restoring them both with.

the Soul Stone and the other five. stones. One of those awful choices could. be why Reed Richards is so outraged in. these lines. >> Did you do this? >> ANSWER ME, VICTOR. DID YOU DO THIS? >> ALTERNATIVELY, maybe specifically the. Soul Stone that Victor has is the Soul. Stone that Steve brought back with him, a stone that Steve was unable to return. Or maybe when Steve did return it, Red. Skull forced a crueler price of other. innocents throughout the multiverse who. would now have to die in order to. complete this transaction. Either way, I. do think the specific question of the. Soul Stone could be part of the answer.

of what happened to Victor's family. It. would be one explanation for why having. the Time Stone wouldn't make a. difference there, because he obtained. this Infinity Stone by making that. sacrifice, and he needs this Infinity. Stone to fully remake the universe. So. then perhaps Doctor Doom's past goal was. to gather those six Infinity Stones of. his universe, the 828 universe, as a. precursor steps to create a new universe. where his family was alive, one immune. to the incursion crisis that his world. is currently facing. And if he has all. six Infinity Stones, it certainly. changes the calculus over what he's. aiming to do with these three Earths on. their collision course in Doomsday.

Someone with all six Infinity Stones. could simply rewrite reality however. they want. I mean, that's what mad Titan. Thanos planned to do in the final battle. of Endgame. >> I will. shred this universe down to its last. atom, with the stones you've collected. for me, create a new one teeming with. life. that knows not what it has lost, but. only what it has been given. A grateful. universe. born out of blood. They'll never know. it. >> Wait a minute, a new world teeming with. life, a grateful universe born out of.

blood that they never knew about? Doesn't that sound exactly like what God. Emperor Doom creates with Battleworld? A. new society with grateful souls who see. Doom as a god, who remember nothing of. their earlier existence? So maybe the. big idea for Doomsday is, what if that. most threatening form of Thanos was. actually successful in his mission, but. instead of a mad tyrant, what if he were. instead a more calculating scientist? And he wanted to do what he did not with. a violent snap, but by carefully. gathering the best candidates from three. or more worlds that he hopes to spare,

and then using the power that he always. had from those stones, create the new. world that he desires. Basically, the. pitch would be, what if there was a. scientist who had the power that Thanos. actually sought in Infinity War and. Endgame, but was able to dream bigger?
