Trump gets RUDE AWAKENING in Pennsylvania by SHOCK RESULTS

Donald Trump had a rude awakening on. election night in the great commonwealth. of Pennsylvania. We know that there is a. lot of attention being paid to Virginia. and New Jersey and California and. rightfully so. But if you take a look at. Pennsylvania, there are the three. bellweather counties that Donald Trump. won in 2024. all of the races there and I'm talking. county executives, DAS, judges, they all. went blue and there was significant.

shifts there. So, if you are looking. towards the midterms or if you're. saying, well, you know, New Jersey is. usually a blue state, take a look at a. swing state like Pennsylvania in these. bellweather counties and I think you'll. see some important data emerging. I. mean, again, as Paul Kaine says, to. understand how deep anti-Trump. repudiation went, look to local Bucks. County races, for example, there an. incumbent proTrump sheriff and DA lost.

by 10 points each. It wasn't even close. to Democrats who talked about the ICE. raids and disappearing people. I mean, this is one of the most important swing. counties in the most important swing. states, and you're seeing it right. there. a Republican, a former Mike Fitz. Patrick staffer, called the results a. complete bloodbath for the GOP. You look. to the Supreme Court races. The.

Democrats running there. The justices. held very steady. Democrats are. maintaining a 5 to2 majority lead there. And the Democratic governor of. Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, posted about. the big wins. He talked about how last. night in Pennsylvania and across the. country, folks came together to reject. the chaos, higher prices, and attacks on. our foundational rights coming from. Washington and chose a better path. forward, including in counties and. communities. Trump won just last year. Just look at Lazern County. Democrats. flipped four seats to regain control of.

the county council there. or Bucks. County where Democrats swept all five. contested row offices, including. flipping the county sheriff and DA. seats. Also, big school board victories. as well by Democrats. Or Erie County, where voters elected a Democrat and. flipped the county executives office. In. a moment where our fundamental freedoms. are under attack, it couldn't be more. clear Pennians are rejecting the chaos. We're rejecting the extremism. And here. in the birthplace of democracy, we're.

choosing freedom and a path to get stuff. done. And now, let's bring in the get. stuff done governor, Governor Shapiro. I. think more attention needs to be spent. on what took place in Pennsylvania, don't you? >> Yeah, man. Of course. Look, we held our. three Supreme Court uh justices, which. shows here in the birthplace of. democracy. We value that democracy and. we love our freedom. and they were. overwhelmingly kept on the bench. But I. I think what hasn't gotten attention, I.

appreciate you raising it, is in the. bellweather counties of Pennsylvania, Lern and Erie and Bucks. These are all. counties that a year ago Donald Trump. won. We won nearly every single race on. the ballot from county executive to DA. to local judges to sheriffs to county. council. We won all of them. We flipped. seats. And I think what we saw was a. resounding rejection of Donald Trump's. chaos and extremism and an invitation to. join people that actually want to get.

stuff done for them, who actually want. to bring down costs and make their lives. better and address housing and so much. more. All the stuff Donald Trump is not. doing every day. >> It seems that's what was on display. during these elections. It was a message. from Democrats and a different approach. by different Democrats, which I think is. good. different approach, but let's get. stuff done. Let's deal with. affordability and let's focus on the. issues that matter. And then on the MAGA. side, it was like what's Trump telling. us to do and let's break things or let's.

fight with each other over culture war. issues. And it just seemed like America. was like enough like like we're hurting. Like we we we need real serious people. during serious times. >> Yeah. Yeah, we do. And listen, I got to. tell you, Ben, I am sick and tired of. hearing Democrats kind of fight with one. another and say that, "Oh, it's got to. be this approach or that approach." I. think what we saw, and you correctly. pointed this out in your question, is we. had a whole bunch of people running for. office who kind of had different.

ideological approaches or might have a. different approach to solving a problem. But all of them, the common thread. throughout was they want to lower costs, protect our freedom, and end the chaos. and actually get done for people. And so you saw that in Virginia, New. Jersey, New York, and of course here in. Pennsylvania and with voters in. California with the Proposition 50. So. you saw a common thread throughout. The. candidates might look a little bit. different. They reflect the communities. that they're running in, but they had a. common theme. We're going to reject the.

chaos and extremism, and we're going to. get stuff done for you and actually. solve problems. That's the Democratic. Party. That's our way and that's what we. need to focus on as we go forward now. into the midterms. Continuing to take. that energy about solving people's. problems, rejecting the chaos, protecting our democracy, and I think we. could do just that. You know, there was. so much gaslighting going on by Trump. and these MAGA Republicans within. Pennsylvania and across the country. where they were saying, "We're in a. golden age right now. Inflation's been.

fixed and everybody's living their best. lives." Now, Donald Trump may be richer. than ever, and his oligarch right-wing. buds may be richer than ever, but the. American people are not living in this. golden age, and American people know. that inflation is surging. So, when. they're out there saying things are. great, feels like the people of. Pennsylvania and throughout are saying. it's not. Stop this crap. Stop it. >> I think another lesson of last night is. um the American people have pretty good. meters and and they know that. Donald Trump's bullshitting them. Look,

I I think you know two million Pennians. don't have access to SNAP right now, don't have access to food right now. Literally yesterday, as I was driving to. a polling place in Philadelphia, I saw lines stretched three to four. blocks long and then around the block of. people waiting in line for a popup food. pantry just to be able to eat. A number. of them had stickers on that they had. just voted. you know, the I voted.

stickers. Think about that. In Donald. Trump's America, people are going hungry. because he shut down the government. And. by the way, they're going hungry in a. country where we produce more than. enough food for people to be able to. eat. And so, to your point before, I. mean, you've got a president of the. United States who's gotten richer, and. you've got a whole bunch of people who. are worse off because of the chaos that. he's inflicted. I want you to think. about that again. go into a polling. place yesterday where people were. showing up to vote against chaos and.

extremism. You had to drive past a popup. food pantry that people were lined up. around the block for because Donald. Trump took away their food stamps. This. is the America we're in. And thankfully. voters showed up here in Pennsylvania. and many other states and rejected that. and chose a better way. as Donald Trump. goes around at his Great Gatsby's. roaring 20s themed party with the. slogan, "A little party never killed. nobody." And he says, "We've never been.

richer." He goes, "Because of the. tariffs, we've brought in $22 trillion,". which is the largest Ponzi scheme in. American history. Because he's making up. that number. If you really have it, then. why don't the American people have it? We know it's all a lie. But we know the. tariffs have been crushing people and. especially Pennsylvania farmers. Can you. speak to that, Governor? >> Yeah, look, I I think tariffs are. impacting every American whether they. kind of see it and realize it yet or. not. Think about this. When you go to. the grocery store and you're buying.

stuff, it costs more because of Donald. Trump's tariffs. when you go just try. and buy something on Amazon that you. need for you or your family or any any. store because Donald Trump did away with. that dimminimous exception, you're. paying more for those kind of everyday. goods that people were buying. And then. the people it's really crushing are. farmers in Pennsylvania, farmers across. the United States who have seen markets. shut down because of these barriers. Donald Trump's erected and cost rise for.

the feed and the and the and the ser and. the the um the the goods that farmers. need in order to feed their uh livestock. and and you know and and meet the needs. of their farm. And so what you're seeing. is rising costs on farmers, markets. being shut down, the average consumer. paying more at the grocery store, the. average consumer paying more for regular. consumer goods, and it's all because of. Donald Trump. And he pushed a button. He. started a trade war with our allies. And. he made things cost more for the. American people. And by the way, he's.

not being successful at bringing. manufacturing back to the United States. is is his stated goal with these. tariffs. Instead, what he's doing is. he's driving people, especially small. businesses, out of business because of. his approach on tariffs. So, in Donald. Trump's America, more chaos, less. freedom, higher costs. That is not what. people want. And you saw yesterday in. Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, elsewhere, you saw them reject that, >> right? and less jobs, jobless claims the.

first three quarters alone without the. fourth quarter yet where there was a lot. of layoffs by Amazon and others. 950,000. jobs that were lost. That's more than. any time other than uh COVID with Donald. Trump and the great recession and we. just are talking about the first three. quarters right there. And so you have. data like that. By the way, the Bureau. of Labor Statistics isn't even sending a. lot of no data at this point because of. the government shutdown. But you, as you.

said, it's basically a construction and. manufacturing recession caused by Donald. Trump after a manufacturing boom. And it. seems that the only people who are. enjoying this are the people at Club. Rose Garden or this new freaking Golden. Ballroom where they rip on the East. Wing. >> Yeah. I mean, I I want you to think. about this for a second and look, I'm a. Homer. I'm going to come back to a. Pennsylvania example, but I think you. can extrapolate it out to other states. as well. Here in Pennsylvania, we have. the the only growing economy in the. northeastern part of the United States.

Moody's found that. Axios, others have. have found that. But now, think about. this. We're creating jobs. We're. creating economic opportunity. And at. the same time, I'm creating jobs. Donald. Trump ripped away tax credits for. renewable energy construction jobs and. took away 26,000 building trades jobs, union trades jobs here in in. Pennsylvania. So, while we're making. progress in the states, we've got a. president of the United States who is. working against us, who is making. people's lives harder, who's making.

things cost more, who's limiting the. jobs. Even when we're making progress in. the States, he's undermining that. progress with his failed economic. policies. And we learned yesterday when. voters had a chance to go to the polls. in numerous states. And by the way, really different kind of communities. politically, they all rejected Donald. Trump's approach, they rejected his. chaos, they rejected his economic. policies. And this last question, Gov, I. want to talk about health care because. people are getting these letters right.

now uh from the open enrollment period. and they're seeing that their monthly. premiums. I I heard something like in. Pennsylvania on average it could be 103%. or numbers like that if some of these. affordable care act subsidies are not. extended. We've heard of people $85,000. a couple making $85,000. We're talking. about 20 $30,000 a year in annual. premiums. Like who who can pay this. stuff? And then Trump's like, I don't I.

don't have a plan. I don't need a plan. Who cares? It's like people care. People. want healthare. >> Yeah. Just think about the cruelty. there. He doesn't he doesn't care that. people aren't eating, right? He'll leave. the government shut down and people. won't get the food that they need. He. doesn't care that they're going to lose. health care because on his watch. premiums are going to double. I mean, he. just he doesn't care about the very. people who elected him to be their. president, who voted for him. Let let me. give you a concrete example of that. About a million Pennians.

are going to see their health care. premiums double. So, on average, it's. going to go from 180 bucks a month to a. little over $360 a month. That's your. 103%. increase. More than 50% of those people. live in counties that voted for Donald. Trump. I mean, he's screwing over the. very people that put him in the White. House. The White House that he's now. knocking down to build up a ballroom for. people, by the way, who aren't from. those communities that voted for him,

who are paying more for their groceries. and about to lose their healthcare, who. are never going to be invited to that. ballroom. I think what what he's doing. here is just cruel. And the if you can. find a silver lining in all this, he's. waking people up and they showed up to. the polls yesterday. And it wasn't just. Democrats who came out uh and voted. You. saw a whole bunch of like-minded. independents and Republicans who said, "I'm done with the extremism. I'm done. with the chaos. This ain't what I voted.

for." And you saw that in Pennsylvania. You saw it in Virginia, New Jersey, New. York, and elsewhere and California, pardon me. And what you're seeing are. people who are saying enough's enough. We're rejecting Trump. We're embracing. our democracy, and we are not going to. let him continue to undermine our. freedoms. Governor Josh Shapiro, we. appreciate your time.
