Prime Minister Carney swiftly responded. with the perfect takedown. Donald Trump. posting while all alone, presumably with. Natalie hiding rotting away in the Oval. He goes, "It is very good for Canadian. politicians like Prime Minister Carney. to make President Donald J. Trump the.

enemy until their economy collapses. Then it will prove to be very bad for. politics, worse than anything that has. ever happened to a Canadian politician. Just watch. Donald J. Trump." And that. followed him making posts like for the. treasonous scum that refuses to. accurately report on our military. operation in Iran. I know, so utterly. embarrassing. It should be noted that. the past month Canada created 75,000.

jobs where the Trump regime lost 23,000. jobs. It should also be noted that Prime. Minister Carney has record high approval. in Canada while Donald Trump has record. low approval, the worst in presidential. history in the United States. But you. know, Prime Minister Carney is not just. going to take that. He's going to go on. the offense against Donald Trump and. Trump's future and regime. So here's. what Prime Minister Carney had to say.

Speaking at a press conference promoting. the Build Canadian agenda, Carney. addressed the people of his country and. the world and said, "Our country is. being tested, but we are making the. right decision to fight back." decision to suspend our trade. negotiations with the United States. We couldn't accept what they'd offered. We wouldn't give what they'd asked. As a result, the US has imposed new. tariffs designed to hurt and divide us. Now, that's a miscalculation. because Canadians will always take care. of each other. >> [applause].

promote the French language, Canadian. culture, uh Quebec culture. Fundamental. We need to maintain uh our ability, uh. our sovereignty to conclude trade deals. with uh with other countries. Uh. there needs to be some stability and. credibility, if you will, to an accord. so uh that we would have uh most favored. nation uh elements to the accords as. well as not clawbacks. I used recidivism. on français, but clawbacks of uh tariff. reductions. Uh there were a few.

instances in the negotiations where. those protections were not going to be. given, and in fact, the opposite was. going to be inserted, which is. unacceptable. Uh and we need to uh. We understand this change that the US. has made, the fundamental change it's. made in its tariff policy and commercial. policy. Uh so it's not a question of going back. to what was past. However, the terms for our automobile sector, our. our steel sector, aluminum sector have. to be competitive.

Uh and that competitiveness includes uh. recognizing Canadian content. And I'll just go back to uh just refer. to my previous answer, which is if you. take the example of Canadian content, one of the things that helps with the. competitiveness, viability of the US auto sector, is the. Canadian auto parts sector, the Canadian. auto sector, the integration. The fact. that Canada buys more cars. than Europe, Japan, Korea.

combined. Okay? The EU. as well, combined. Uh we're by far and. away the US's biggest uh customer for. automobiles. That's an integrated. market. So, recognizing that in the. terms uh is necessary. Uh w-. When will that happen? Uh we'll see at. the appropriate time. Uh. uh. It will the the conversation will. happen, but. the most important thing we can do. is not to spend all our time waiting by.

the phone, waiting for a call, looking at, you. know, refreshing on uh social media to. see what's coming across. No, it's. building. It's building here. It's. building bold. It's building out. It's. moving forward. It's making those. connections, those those trade uh. connections, interconnections. And it is. talking to and concluding agreements. with all of those countries around the. world who want to deal with Canada. And. that is what this government is doing. >> Thank you.

that now they're not. So, all of a sudden, they don't care. about Canadian language or culture and. those elements. Well, those Well, if. they didn't care, they shouldn't have. kept them in the deal up in the last. But, it's good. We We welcome that. We care about those issues. Those are. rights, those are done They're. fundamental to who we are. So, that's. not there. Um. You know, uh. an F-350 pickup, which is going to be. built in the Ford. factory in Oakville, 350s, 450s, 550s. Uh where I grew up in Alberta, those you.

know, those are subcompacts. Um. >> [laughter]. >> and um. same here, right? And they're just. discovering that and they're like, "Oh, of course we weren't going to keep them. out." Well, they were going to keep them. out. Right? Uh core plant. Uh and other. elements. So, some of these um. some of what they're saying now is. different than what they were were. drawing the line on. And we are always. going to stand up for what's in the best. interest of Canada, Canadian workers, Canadian families, not look for an easy.

win, not look for an announcement, but. something that's durable. And that deal. is possible. That's in both of our. benefits. And I'll I'll say one final. thing, which is the deal that's possible. that's in the interest of Canadian. workers, families, uh and businesses is also the deal that. is in the interest of American families, American businesses, American consumers. Um and and you know, we're ready to sit. down and and strike that deal when the. Americans are ready.

We're going to use all our electricity. here. We're going to build new mines, new. processing facilities. We're going to. build new uh LNG export uh. facilities. Uh we're going to uh. uh.

transform our forest product sector with. our new electricity.
