Canadians that we have this great. relationship, we're working together, long-standing friendship, allies, blah, blah. But you don't do that. No, you've. been going on Canadian media and you've. been spreading disinformation, you've. been gaslighting us and you've been. whining like a baby that somehow you and. the United States and the MAGA regime.

have been picked upon by Canada. So, here's the thing, Pete. Let's. you and me talk. Come on Midas Canada. I'll be absolutely fair. I did a great. interview recently with the Cuban. Ambassador. You can watch it, very. respectful. I'll be respectful with you. But the fact that I'm calling you lying, Pete Hoekstra, is because we have to. address the fact that you have a toxic. problem with lying. And once we get. through that, then maybe we can have a. conversation about how we fix the broken. relationship between the United States.

So, what happened was is after. the murder of Charlie Kirk, I spoke up. about the danger of political violence. and how we had to tone down the. rhetoric. And you wrote back and said.

that we had shared values and I thought, "Well, that's great." But what I was. talking about, Pete, was the rising. level of toxic extremism in the MAGA. movement, the movement that you're part. of and how dangerous that is for. democracy and that once violence starts. coming out of that, then democracy is. threatened. That's the conversation about values. that I'd like to have. So, I reached out. to you a number of times to sort of try. and correct the impression that you had. of me, that it wasn't just about Charlie. Kirk. This was about the larger problem.

But, you know, of course, you never. responded. Heck, I even invited to take. you out for a beer. He said, "History doesn't become fiction. because you say it on television.". That's his way of saying you're a liar. I prefer Andrew MacDougall, who was the. chief of communications for. Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who said. that your statement was a punch in the. face. He said that the United States. with Donald Trump and MAGA has shown. time and time again that it will punch. its friends in the face. Wow. And I think the fact is is that. Canadians are getting a sense that we. aren't friends with the United States. anymore. We're adversaries and we are.

considered even possible enemies. There's a hundred and thirty billion. dollars of trade every year that crosses. at Detroit-Windsor. And right now it's. all under the control of the Moroun. oligarch family. Uh trucks and people. are paying through the nose to use the. Ambassador Bridge. So, Canada built the. Gordie Howe Bridge as a way of getting. more efficient travel between the United. States and Canada. And one of the. reasons you say that the it's being held.

up is it You claim that there's a US. Coast Guard permit. uh that was used for allowing. construction. Well, yeah, Pete. There. was thousands of permits required on. both sides of the border to get a. project of that magnitude built. But, you said the permit is the. administrative thing that gives. leverage. Wow, that's what you're. bringing to the table? Oh, I've found a. permit from the Coast Guard. That's why. I'm holding up a hundred and thirty. billion dollars worth of trade. Um could. it actually have anything to do with the. fact that the maroon oligarchs really do.

not want that bridge open and they've. been pumping money into Maga to try and. stop it like the million dollars they. gave to the super PACs of Donald Trump? Or, wait a minute. The fact that you. received fifteen separate donations from. the. maroon to the uh tune of thirty-five. thousand dollars. So, who are you. working for, Pete? Are you working for. the American people? Are you working for. the workers in Michigan and Ohio and. other states who will be using uh the.

Gordie Howe Bridge, a very important. bridge of infrastructure for trade? Or. you helping out your pals, the maroons? Because, you know, again, what we see is. this klepto-state uh in Washington right. now is it's who you know and what kind. of money do you put on the table? Let's. talk about another one of your open lies. uh in a recent statement with the. Canadian media. You said that. the United States didn't target Canada, that we're all somehow taking this. personally, and that we're being too.

emotional about it, and the facts are. that the United States was just being. fair to everyone. Well, that's too, Pete. And. everybody knows that one's You. said, "We put tariffs on every country. in the world. We did not take aim at. Canada." Well, yes, you did take aim at. Canada. We remember February 2025 when. Donald Trump stated he would put the 25%. across-the-board tariffs on Canada and. Mexico while only giving 10% to China. And he said he would do this in order to.

break our nation economically. And he. said it. that he wanted to be able to move the. border arbitrarily. And that's when he. started insulting us as the 51st state. And you, as ambassador, have repeated. those lies uh undermining the notion. that we even have a right to our own. sovereignty here, Pete. But when you go. on TV and lie about not being mean to. Canada, you're trying to turn yourself. into the victim here. And this is. another thing that predators do. Trying. to make it seem somehow that we're being.

mean to you, that we're picking on you, that you throw on unilateral 50% tariffs. on steel and aluminum. Then you whine. that we won't drink your crappy bourbon. uh as though we are the problem. This is. the gaslighting thing. This is why, Pete, you know, you could go on Canadian. media and they're going to be respectful. and and nice. And and you know, they're. very professional. wanted to go and hang at the US. ambassador's. uh residence on the 4th of July. And. man, you're not getting people coming. out, are you? Cuz they don't want to be. seen anywhere near you. So, who's coming. out? Well, you've got extremist media. and we've got Tamara Lich who said, "I. had the opportunity to speak with. Ambassador Hoogstra and thank him, the. president and the American people for. their heartfelt support throughout the. freedom convoy and ever since.". It's the ever since thing, Pete, that I. want to know about. That's foreign.

interference. That's something that you. got to start talking about because, you. know, we're not the only ones in Canada. who think that you're a liar. Your. tenure as ambassador in Netherlands was. a freaking disaster. And one of the. things that you got accused of was using. your ambassador's residence to promote. far-right events.
