🚨 Canada PM JUST DID IT…

A standing ovation for Canada's Prime. Minister Mark Carney before the European. Union Parliament. Unprecedented history. making. The first time ever a foreign. leader addressed the European Parliament. like that. It comes a day after the. European Union state of the union as. Canada and the European Union are in. discussions about Canada becoming an. associate member of the European Union.

I want to show you an incredible speech. Prime Minister Carney gave addressing. the full European Union Parliament. Indeed, it was incredibly inspiring. about the newly forming world dynamic as. you have midpowers uniting, Canada, the. European Union protecting their. sovereignty, becoming stable, reliable, predictable partners in a multilateral. world. The clear message here also is.

that the United States with the Trump. regime in charge is not a reliable uh. entity to interact with would be putting. it lightly. So let's take a look at. Prime Minister Carney's history making. speech right here. He says we are not. fair weather allies. We do not pursue. zero someum deals and we are committed. to the rule of law. Let's play it. We. are not fair weather allies. We do not.

pursue zero sum deals. Our commitment to the rule of law and. our unyielding defense of human dignity, individual freedom and democracy share. the same deep roots, the same unwavering. dedication. We hold common values for which we have. always fought and in whose defense we. must always remain vigilant.

It. now requires secure access to AI, semiconductors, critical minerals, payment systems, clean energy. technologies, vaccines, space-based.

communications. And we all have important gaps in these. strategic capabilities, and we each must. rely on individual nations or individual. companies to fill them. And that creates vulnerabilities. particularly when supposedly global. companies prove national in the breach. Closing these gaps is not possible. alone, but it's very achievable collectively.

Canada and Europe are each strong. Europe and Canada are stronger together. [applause]. He then talks about the mutual advantage. at the core of the case for a deeper. partnership between Europe and Canada. Play this clip. And it's this mutual. advantage that's at the core of the case.

Europe brings so many things. market. power, research depth, advanced. manufacturing, the ability and the will. to set standards that the world. frequently adopts. A defense industrial. base that's being rebuilt at speed. Canada brings energy at huge scale and. in every form that the transition. requires.

We have one of the world's largest. endowments of critical minerals, deep. capabilities in space, AI and quantum. amongst the strongest banking systems. and the most expert pension capital. We. have unique Arctic geography and. privileged access to both Atlantic and. Pacific networks. And where our strengths differ, they. complement. Where they overlap, they. create scale. We should build on each other's. strengths deliberately, systematically. and rapidly.

We've already begun and I thank this. parliament. We've already begun with. Sitta, one of the world's most. successful trade agreements. provide the world and the Trump regime. wants to say they don't need Canada okay. well we let's let's do this together and. just think about from the perspective of. the United States how deeply damaging. what Donald Trump has done is. That's an. understatement. Let's play this clip. Yesterday, President Vanderline. announced, and I quote, a new European. corporation on critical raw materials to. obtain and stockpile the material needed.

for electric cars, for chips and. batteries, clean tech and defense. I'll observe that Canada has deposits of. over 34 critical minerals and we are. among the top producers of the 10 most. essential for the energy transition. Our alliance can help fill Europe's need. for reliable supply, Canada's desire for. advanced processing capabilities and our.

common objective to complete value. chains in the transition and our. defense. [applause]. >> Prime Minister Carney further talks. about deepening and widening our. relationship to strengthen the. sovereignty even more to improve. affordability. Let's play it. These are. some of the opportunities. But the fundamental point is that the. opportunities that can be created by an. alliance for the future are the product. of our common values, our compatible.

systems, our complimentary strengths. And deepening and widening our. relationship will strengthen. our sovereignty, improve affordability. and opportunity and security for our. citizens while safeguarding our. abilities to live our lives as we. choose. He talks about how an alliance. for the future is a unique positive. approach that we will define together.

But let me take this opportunity. to say plainly what Canada proposes. Canada and Europe should secure our. strategic autonomy through deep. cooperation in the full range of. strategic capabilities including.

We should move towards seamless digital. trade and non-aggricultural goods and a. wide range of services. We should deepen our people-to-people. ties, allowing our youth to work, study, and live where they want on either side. of the Atlantic. [applause].

And this was, I think, a very powerful. moment as well. I want to share with you. where you had the uh European Parliament. uh President Robera Metsola talk about. how deep the friendship uh goes between. Canada and Europe. And she goes back and. explains how Canada played a hugely. important role in World War I, in World. War II, in defending freedom across the.

world. We talk about this a lot on Midas. Canada. Obviously, Canadians know this. and have a very proud tradition and. deeply rooted history in the defense of. democracy. And so the elbows up uh. statement that we talk a lot about, right, is, you know, and Canadians will. always say this to you, and I've been. just so honored to um be. shoulder-to-shoulder with Canadians, you. know, and in and the international. pro-democracy, pro- freedom, pro-mpathy,

pro- love, anti-war uh community, though, is okay, you know, at some point. we're going to go elbows up. You know, we we don't want to. Our instinct isn't. to, you know, do that. But once we go. elbows up, then we take the gloves down. We'll go over the boards and then we. fight. And when you see that side of us, you don't want to see that side of us, right? It was always speak soft and.

carry a big stick. That's what we used. to value in the US also in theory, but. that was mutated to talk a bunch of. trash and then not back it up as well. And we see that that's Donald Trump's. life ethos. In Canada, though, it's. like, okay, we're going to we're we we. don't want to go there, but you made us. go there and now it's a wrap. You don't. want to see this side of us, but this is. a side of us that exists and we're. seeing it play out now. So, I want you. to watch of what uh EP president uh.

In. 1914, when war shattered our continent, Canadians fought shoulderto-shoulder.

with us through the muddy trenches of. RA, the Som and Passendal. On Vimei. bridge, where your national memorial. keeps watch, a corner of Europe will. remain forever Canadian. Generation. later in 1944, your boys came to our aid. again, storming Normandy beaches. alongside British and Americans to help. liberate Europe from fascism. On that.

day, Canadian forces pushed farther. inland than any other and in some of the. bloodiest fighting of the war sustained. heavy losses but soldiered on. This sums. up so much about the courageous Canadian. spirits and Europe will always be. grateful for the sacrifice of so many. who stood with us and defended freedom. and democracy.
