Maga witness just lost it and Ro Khanna. was like, "You seem like one of the most.

racist people I have ever met." And the. person who was the witness was like, "Are you accusing me?" He's like, "I'm. not even accusing you. I'm just telling. you what you are." I want to show you. what went down. Even the Republican. chair of this Homeland Security. Subcommittee, Congressman Amo Houghton. had to step in and tell Mark Wayne. Mullin, like, "You need to chill out or. we're going to shut this hearing down. because you're behaving so immature and. you're behaving in a way that's so. unbecoming of this uh legislative.

enough attention. The Trump. administration just announced it's. spending another $765. million in taxpayer money to cancel four. offshore wind projects. Under this deal, Chicago-based energy developer Invenergy. will surrender its offshore wind leases. in the New York Bight, off California's. Central Coast, and in the Gulf of Maine. And in return, the federal government. will reimburse the company $765 million. with Invenergy saying that it plans to. redirect much of that money into. building new natural gas power plants in.

states like Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri, along with some. geothermal projects. This is now the. third major lease buyout by the Trump. administration, bringing the total. taxpayer cost to roughly $2.5 billion, billion with a B, to get companies to. abandon offshore wind development, all. because of Trump's bizarre crusade. against wind energy. This announcement. comes just after the administration. dropped its appeal in a lawsuit brought. by 17 states after a federal court ruled.

its attempt to broadly halt wind. development offshore was unlawful. And. rather than continuing that legal fight, the administration is now pursuing this. different strategy, paying more. companies to walk away from clean energy. projects instead. So, now taxpayers are. being forced to bankroll the. cancellation of renewable energy. projects that were expected to provide. electricity to millions and millions of. people as other countries like China. continue to expand their investments in.

Mullin, since Donald Trump took office, DHS's immigration detention system has. been plagued by medical neglect, abuse, overcrowding, and a historically high. death rate. I saw these dangerous. conditions with my own eyes when I. visited the Miami Correctional Facility. in Bunker Hill, Indiana, where I met. with individuals who told me that it. takes months to receive medication. refills, including for life-threatening. illnesses like diabetes. Others reported.

being left unattended with infected. boils and other serious conditions. So. it's no surprise that a detainee at that. facility died shortly after my visit or. that more detainees died in ICE custody. in 2025 than ever before. Secretary Mullin, does DHS have any. official, specific, internal goals or. policies to reduce deaths in custody? >> Ma'am, your numbers just aren't. accurate. We've had 0.009%. You're asking about this. It's 0.009%.

of deaths. And and we've had 54 total in. the president's This is time you Those. are dangerous accusations you're making. Which. Those are dangerous accusations that. she's making because in the state of. Illinois they're twice as. likely twice as likely to die in a state. penitentiary in Illinois than they are. in a detention. >> You're not to this committee. Escobar, and she told. about how she met a detainee's whose arm. was so badly broken, as Rupa puts it, that it was visible to the naked eye. an example, um with and that medical contractor's. still on site, by the way, at Camp. Eastep Montana. Just one glaring. example. I spoke with a detainee, and. I've spoken with dozens and dozens of. detainees, but he expressed to me he had been at. Camp Eastep Montana for weeks, and he expressed to me the pain that he. had been living with with his arm. And I asked him what happened. Well, his. arm had been broken during an arrest in. Minneapolis, and he had been complaining.

for weeks to the medical about the arm. He had a brace, he took off the brace, I. could see like a letter S, his bone was. so broken, and medical had only given him aspirin. And so, these are the things that I'm. sounding the alarm about, um that I will. continue to share with you because I. know we want to hold these contractors. to federal standards. So, I wanted to. share that with you. >> Then you had Markwayne Mullin again. having this meltdown. Looked like he was.

going to cry during the testimony. He. was being cross-examined by. Congresswoman DeLauro, and she's like, "Do you support FEMA or not? Do you want. to abolish FEMA?" He's like, "Uh. uh uh like, "Do you want to abolish. FEMA? Yes or no? Basic question, Mullin. Answer the question, Mullin." Here, play. this clip. >> This has to do with FEMA. Simple. question. And I want to start where I. left off with Secretary Noem last year. FEMA. Simple yes or no, do you support. eliminating FEMA?

Secretary Gnome said yes, she and the. president wanted to eliminate FEMA. The. gentleman said that he said it should be. reformed and the next day he was fired. Let it show that the secretary believes. that we should shut FEMA down. >> I never said that to the committee. >> the administration. >> I never said that. >> prematurely unlawfully ended FEMA's BRIC.

program. He intentionally halted roughly. 2,000 active infrastructure and disaster. mitigation projects across the country. >> And then I think the best part of. yesterday was Ro Khanna. No one's doing. it better than Ro Khanna right now. Watch as he cross-examines. this MAGA Republican witness right here. and he just annihilated this guy. This. is a guy.

named Lucci and he is MAGA Republican. witness. and Ro Khanna was like, "So I'm just. trying to understand your position. If. you were born here but you have family. in China and you're saying you returned. to China, then you get denaturalized. Is that what. your opinion is, Lucci?" Here, watch. this cross-examination. But. the reality is that you're basically. saying that if you're Chinese American. and you're born under US law in a. territory you. you should be denaturalized and I'm. asking you is that just apply to China. or are you saying anyone who's born in a. US territory if they then go to live in. another country and are there raised to. late teens that they should be.

denaturalized? >> Congressman, let me restate. My. household has eight people in it. >> I don't really care about your. household. That's like saying I'm. friends with someone who's black but I'm. still a racist. I want to know what your. actual policy is. >> Congressman, you you accused me of. racism again. >> Yes, I do. What I said was that when. folks are born in a territory therefore. a week or two, they go back to communist. China, they have no real nexus to the. United States of America, that we should. consider that. I think that that's it. creates a clear. >> And are you saying that just for Chinese. Americans or for anyone born in the. United States who goes and is raised in. a foreign country should be.

denaturalized? >> I would consider it for foreign. adversary nations as defined by the. federal government. That's where the. federal. >> You want to denaturalize Iranian. Americans? You want to denaturalize. Russian Americans? You want to. denaturalize Korean Americans? North. Korea? I mean, where does this end? >> When when folks have no my point was in. the number of 1.5 obviously there were. way more people of Chinese descent born. in the United States of America. birthright through that. 1.5 is the estimated number of people. born just in a territory they're there.

for a very short amount of time and then. they're raised in China loyal to the. Chinese Communist Party. I think that. that's a clear security risk. Well, repeat I take you know direct offense. You're saying I'm racist against my own. family. My family is largely Chinese. American. Yes, I do. I Congressman with all due respect.
