Bizarre Hacking Claim Escalates with 'Unhinged' Meltdown
Emotions get high, man. I I get it. I I. understand. But, you guys got when we. say something she went berserk. >> Crazy, though. >> Yeah. >> This online feud escalated into. real-life consequences for a West. Virginia woman. She claims that another. woman had hacked into her phone, stolen. her nude photos, and opened a Cash App. account in her own name. But, when she. interprets what a police officer has to. say as him refusing to help her, she. apparently loses control. >> Obviously, you don't know the law.
>> It was I just changed your Have a good. day. >> You can't do nothing because they made a. Cash App in my name in my name and. you're telling me you can't do nothing, bro. >> Since you can't Since you can't. >> No, I tried to explain. You screamed at. me wanting to talk. Have a good day. >> I'm trying to show you any proof? I'm not showing YOU MY. I'M SHOWING YOU THE. Snap that they made. I'm trying to show. you all the proof, but you don't want to.
see proof. >> We got our hands on the wild body cam. video. So, strap in. I will tell you. this is a wild one. Welcome to Sidebar, presented by Law & Crime. I'm Jesse. Weber. It's just after midnight on October 9th, 2022, and an officer in Martinsburg, West Virginia is responding to a call in. an apartment just up the street from the. police department. Now, this woman. inside is afraid, afraid that a person. that she's in an online feud with could.
come to her home. So, I want you to. start off. We're going to start here. So, I want you to listen as she does her. best to explain to the officer what's. been going on. >> Hi, hon. >> Hi, how are you doing? >> Good. I just had a cop here. >> Yeah. >> I've already talked to them about the. situation. >> Okay. >> So, I'm good. >> Okay. Yeah, that's what they just said. that you guys called back. >> Yeah, if I'm going to continue to be. harassed by officers because of this. girl, I'm going to file charges. Because. it's wasting your time and it's wasting.
and it's keeping me and my family up. >> Okay. >> Um she is. >> So what do you want to do? >> I'm going to get her for some If you. want to come in, um I'm going to get her for some charges. already. She's got it all. written down out. Um apparently I'm. being accused of. um hacking into her account and using. her name. Um I'm being accused of hacking. I had her Facebook information. Um due to in her Snapchat due to her.
talking. uh basically trying to get my husband. for raping her, which not the case at. all. >> Okay. >> He never did. He never touched her. Um. she's also saying that he tried to do. something when we were sleeping in the. bed together and I was there. Um that. never happened at all. >> Okay. >> Um once her friend figured out that I. was behind the. Snapchat hack and all that stuff, which. I did because you tried to get my. husband for something. I never texted. anyone off of her account. I never did.
nothing. It was. a little like change your name, change. your password, be done. >> Got you. >> There's the There's the the I'm not one. to break the law. >> Okay. >> And then the Facebook situation, I did. that because I'm finding out that she. was trying to come here to and she did. actually come here when the officer was. here. Um the blood test never came. out. Um that she's coming here to beat. my ass because of it. >> Okay. >> And um her friend now I am logged off of.
her account now because I was. >> That's all civil. That's not criminal. >> I took screenshots. Yeah, but I took. screenshots of this because they're. accusing me of having her um her nude. pictures on my phone, which I never had. any pictures of her on my phone. >> Okay. >> Um accusing me of taking money, making. accounts at Cash App, and ordering. things off of Amazon, and so on and so. forth, on her stuff. >> Okay. in her name. That's never been. done. I don't even know how to do that. They're saying that I'm using her social. security number. Never had her social.
security number. Don't have any you. know, like all of these things. And it's. her friend that is telling her all of. this. I guess getting into her head, saying that I have all of this. information. Which I am 22 years old. I. live in a house like this. And. how do I in the right mind have that. sort of power, you know what I mean? Like I'm not techy, like I'm not I don't. have all of this power to do something.
like that. >> Okay. >> Um so now you were the I called the. first cop because I found out she was on. on her way here with her toxic boyfriend. who is 40 years old, she is 23, and he. has put her hand he has put his hands on. her, choked her, beat her, um from. everything that she has told me. >> Okay. >> Um I've met him before. He does he looks. like that type of person. I just had the. fear that when I met him, because I went. and got him because he was holding her.
hostage in a hotel. So my husband and I. went and got him, brought her here so. that way she was okay. >> Okay. >> So now this toxic guy who has who beats. women knows where I live. And that is my. fear, you know what I mean? That's my. worry. >> Yeah. >> That's why I called the cop the other. time. Not because she wanted to beat me. up. Because in all honesty, like I'll. plow her. She's going to put her hand on. me, I'm going to defend myself, and then. I'm going to call the cop and be like, "Listen, like. get me if you want to,
but she put her hands on me, and I. knocked her off her ass." Like you're. not going to do that to me. But the. reason I don't do that is because. you know, she she hasn't put a hand on. me, too. But she's bringing this very. violent guy who is much older than me. He's basically my dad in you know, the. years, you know, and. I'm not going to put me, my husband, or. my father, who has stage five kidney. failure and seizures, in danger. >> Okay. But you you explained it well. >> I sure did. I just don't like I am.
>> You know, you're not going to be held. responsible for anything that happens. I was just coming to make sure that. you're okay. So. >> Oh, no, I'm not okay. I'm completely. paranoid and I'm looking out the window. >> Which I understand, but if anyone comes. or anything like that, just give us a. call. We're literally right there. Just. give us a call, we'll show up, take care. of. But for anything like further, uh Pew's going to be taking care of. whatever. So, if you have screenshots, whatever you need to give to him, did he. give you an email or whatnot? >> No, he did not. Um I after he left, I I. even offered to show him the messages.
when he's here, cuz at the time he was. here, I was still logged into her. Facebook. Um to kind of for my like my safety. purpose. Like that was very important. >> Okay. >> I just don't want to wake up one morning. and see that everything is just. >> I don't. I honestly don't believe that they're. >> I'm not really in the mood to go to jail. for having this girl's picture and. commit and posting her naked pictures on. >> you. And I understood that. >> That's not what I do. >> But that's. >> satisfaction do I get out of that? >> Understandable, but. >> jail.
>> If anything, if anything, if anyone. comes here anything like that, just give. us a call, okay? >> Okay. Yeah, that that's I'm just I'm. tired. I'm. >> I got you. I understand. >> I you know, I just kind of had I had my. fun tonight, you know, that was a. laughing manner, but then now it's well, you know, I deleted her pictures and now. she's very mad. Well, you know, please. don't accuse my husband of. doing something like that while I'm in. the bed, you know, please, you know, know you're know you're lying. >> I got you. Just if it like I said, if. anyone comes here like looking to cause. trouble or anything like that, just give. us a call. We're literally right there.
>> Couple hours later, that same officer is. notified that the two people allegedly. threatening to come by the other woman's. house are now outside the police station. in the parking lot. And they were later. identified as Gary Prebe and Anna Rose. Thompson. So, Thompson tries to explain. her side of things, but she's getting. really worked up and her boyfriend keeps. trying to interject, which by the way. only makes things worse. >> Hi. >> Hi.
>> How's it going? >> Good, I guess. >> So, what's going on? >> I've been waiting 2 hours for somebody. to come talk to me. >> Well, you told us you were on College. Street and that's not. >> No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. >> We said. >> Stop. >> She said talk to him. She said that's. where the people that are doing this. You need to calm down. >> STOP. >> I NEED TO CALM DOWN. >> YES. >> Get in the car. Please don't start your. I know you're pissed off. I know you're pissed off, but shut shut. your mouth for a second. Shut. Just shut up. I can't you you're too.
I know they're ignorant, but it's not my. fault. It's not his fault, either. No, I was calling about the people who. live right there because she's hacked. into my Snapchat. She's hacked into my. Google account. She's made a snap or. she's made a. Cash App with my name asking people for. money. She has taken my personal. pictures. I've taken nudes for myself. because I am obsessed with my own body. and there's nothing wrong with that and. she has taken something on her phone. where she can take stuff from my phone.
and get it on her phone and she made a. Meet Me app and she's trying to send my. inappropriate pictures to other people. and pretending to be me and order stuff. from Amazon under my name. >> She's got something on her phone that. lets her mirror. >> My friend my friend was her boyfriend. used to cheat on her, so I let her do. her thing and she found all this out for. me and she was sending me all the. information. >> Yeah, I'm not sure how any of that. works. I don't know how they would be. able to mirror your phone for anything. other than getting to have your. passwords to everything.
>> She she hacked she hacked my she hacked. my Google. She hacked had email. >> Listen to what I'm saying. >> She had my email hacked. You can. hack somebody through their email with. an email. You're not listening to me. You're listening to what you think is. right, which I I understand. But I have. all this I have and she's she's hacked. into my phone. Into my phone. I can't get her out. She's actually physically on my phone. She can watch everything that I do, whoever the hell I text, and everything.
else. And that's all you can tell me to. do? >> Yeah. >> I changed my She's hacked into my phone. And she's stolen my wallet and she's. sending people my nudes. And she's got a. Cash App. You want to see it? Look, I'll show you. I don't give. >> I don't want to see any. >> No, you're going to see it. No, you're. going to see it. No, your badge your your little camera. can see it. Look, I don't give a. I don't give. >> I'm advising you, do not show me any. pictures. >> So, you don't want proof?
>> I don't want to see any pictures of you. in a program. No, I don't want to. >> I'm not talking about inappropriate. I'm. talking about the Cash App. >> Okay, I'm done. You guys have a good. day. >> Now, at one point the officer tries to. walk away, but Preble is close behind. >> Listen, I was Listen, I was Stop. Stop. Stop. Let me get your name and badge. number. We're allowed to be upset. >> No, I don't give. >> job is to try and calm us down. >> yelling at me and not let me explain. myself. >> Miss. >> Miss. >> I can't explain myself. I tried to. explain myself. I tried TO EXPLAIN.
MYSELF. >> BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT LISTENING. You refuse. to listen. >> Have a good day. I don't have a card. I don't have a. card. >> The officer tries to walk away again and. turns off the audio from his body cam. But when he turns it back on, Thompson. and Preble, they are both screaming at. him. >> It's been on. It's good. You called me a. bastard. Go ahead. >> It's your job. >> Go ahead. >> to try and calm her down. >> No. >> Yes. >> Nope.
>> Obviously, you don't know the law. Go back to school. >> just change your. You can't do nothing because THEY MADE A. CASH APP IN MY NAME. MY NAME and you're telling me you can't. do nothing bro. >> No, I tried to explain. You screaming me. won't let me talk. >> No, YOU THINK I'M TRYING TO SHOW YOU. I'M NOT SHOWING YOU MY. NUDES DUMMY. I'M SHOWING YOU. SNAP they made all I'm trying to show.
you all the proof BUT YOU DON'T WANT TO. SEE PROOF. >> You won't let me talk. >> BECAUSE YOU DON'T CARE. >> Now I'm done. I'm done. >> You don't want to uphold the law and. protect citizens. >> This is a cure park lot. STEP OUT. GOODBYE. GOODBYE. Have a good day. Have a good day. >> You're saying it's okay that they post. my nudes. >> I didn't say anything. You wouldn't let. me talk. You wouldn't let me talk. >> YES, YOU DID. >> YOU wouldn't let me talk.
44 my dude. The caller is being very uncooperative. You can go ahead and clear it out. 10-8. >> He almost makes it all the way back. inside the police station but apparently. changes his mind and that is when things. really fall apart. >> If you continue to yell in our parking. lot, I'll arrest you for disturbing the. peace. Do you understand me?

YOU DON'T NEED TO BE HERE. >> YEAH, that's why you're under arrest. >> You don't need TO BE HERE BECAUSE YOU'RE. A LIAR. BECAUSE YOU'RE A LIAR. CUZ YOU'RE A LIAR TELLING THEM I DID. SOMETHING WHEN I AIN'T DID IT. I TRIED TO TALK TO YOU LIKE AN ADULT AND. YOU LIED.
YOU LIED. LIAR. >> WE'LL TAKE CARE OF IT. >> APPRECIATE IT. THANK YOU, GUYS. >> I KNOW I LIED. >> I'LL not talk to you aggressively. >> I'm good for a minute. Give me a minute. >> So, according to police report, Thompson. spit at two officers. So, she was taken. over to the jail for further processing. Prebe is kept at the police station. where he's calmed down significantly.
>> All right, we're going to go straight. through here. Change. >> Just two dollars. >> Got it. I just did it. >> Yeah, you're good. Go straight through here. Second door on your right there. Are you going to actually What is this? A room key and ten dollars? >> Yeah. >> You can hold on to that. They'll take it from you, but you're not going to get in trouble. for having it. >> Now Now, how does this. >> Step back there for me and have a seat. I'm going to type some stuff up real. quick. >> Now, how the hell does this work? Cuz I.
know. every place is different. >> What do you mean? What are you talking. about? >> Because tomorrow's Sunday. Or. technically today is Sunday. >> Today is Sunday, yes. There should be a magistrate from what I. understand to be coming in. Like they. come in everyday, even on the weekends. I'm pretty I know they do Saturdays. I'm. not 100% don't quote me on it cuz I'm. not 100% on Sundays. But I'm I know they. come in on Saturdays. I would assume. they come in on Sundays as well. And that's and I mean I could tell you. were mad when I got there. That's why I. was like I was trying to just say, "Hey. man, just. call cuz Pew was actually handling it.
He That was the prior shift. He's the. one handling the investigation. So I was trying to explain to you guys. any questions you can contact Pew and. he'll be able to give you more. information. >> Yeah, I was it was just. >> People. >> Cuz I was going to call later. or have her call later. >> Emotions get high, man. I I get it. I I. understand, but you guys got When we say. something she went berserk. >> Crazy though. >> Yeah. When I told you don't touch the phone, just don't touch it.
You know what I mean? Just don't touch. it. >> think picking it up would get. arrested. >> I didn't want to arrest you. I was. arresting her cuz she was wasn't stop. yelling. And I gave her the option. >> so I picked up the phone. cuz I didn't want anything else to. happen to it. Plus it was. I mean you see the screen. >> Well, when we arrest When we arrest. someone their property immediately comes. with us. So that was her phone it comes. with us. That's why I said don't touch. it I'm going to grab it and bring it. >> I mean I'd given it to you. >> Yeah, well I asked you and you said no.
>> Well, yeah because you were dealing with. her. I'm not going to give it to you and. risk you. at that moment dropping it or risk her. or something and. completely breaking it. That was not. thought process. Wasn't no you can't. she needs the phone. >> Yeah, that's She was it was going to go. to jail with her. >> That's what I'm saying. She needs it for. contacts. But my thought process was if I try and. give it to him now she's going to try. and kick it or do something stupid. and get herself in more trouble.
And you got me in trouble. >> Yeah, she definitely got you cuz I was. literally ready to leave. Like I cuz I. understand you guys are mad and I. I tried and she kept yelling and I was. like, "Okay, you've you've done it. It's. >> Even you saw me like I had her. >> And I tried I tried to let her go and I. said, "Just go." And then she came back. and cursed me again. >> said, "What are we obstructing?". >> It's disorderly conduct. >> But that's That's why I was asking. questions. >> Yeah. And that's what I tried to explain and. she she wouldn't I I don't know if it's.
cuz she's young, didn't want to listen. Can you stand up here for me? >> I mean, I got it. >> Yeah, I can't let you someone just sit. there and yell and scream. >> Yeah, no. The whole phone thing is just. what. >> Yeah, pretty much cuz. if you don't. if you had just let her get arrested, it'd have been you'd have been good cuz. I wasn't planning on arresting you at. that time. But. I mean, it's a misdemeanor. Everybody. learns from this, hopefully. Hopefully, she learns. >> Okay. So, according to court records, Thompson faced four charges, obstructing, two counts of battery on a.
law enforcement officer, and disorderly. conduct. As part of a plea deal, the. obstructing charge and one of the. battery on a law enforcement counts, they were dropped. She ended up pleading. guilty to the other battery count, plus. a disorderly conduct charge, and she was. sentenced to 30 days of home. confinement. Preble was charged with. obstructing an officer. He entered a. guilty plea, which went on his record, but no other punishment was levied. against him. This is per the court. document. But then you go just a few. months later and Preble would reportedly. be arrested for the armed robbery of two.
businesses, one of which he was. apparently fired from. Both businesses. were Jackie's restaurant locations. So, one was hit in December of 2022. The. other was robbed in January of 2023. Preble reportedly had a knife on him. when he demanded money, and according to. reporting from West Virginia Metro News, law enforcement caught up to Preble at a. hotel room in Leesburg, Virginia. Turns. out, he also had a warrant for failing. to register as a sex offender for the. second time. This is according to the. outlet. And in July of 2024, according.
to court records, Prew was convicted and. he was sentenced to spend 32 years in. the West Virginia Department of. Corrections. Remember when I said this. is a wild ride? You saw for yourself.
