on your first tank of gas. Okay, so we. have all this new audio that we want to. go through in the Duggar case. And as. you may know, if you've been following. us here on Sidebar, Joseph Duggar, one. of the members of the Duggar clan, who. rose to fame with the TLC show 19 Kids. and Counting, has been charged in. Florida with felony counts of lewd and. lascivious molestation of a victim less. than 12 years old, and lewd and. lascivious behavior conducted by a. person 18 years or older for allegedly. sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl.

during a family vacation back in 2020. Now, at the same time, he and his wife, 27-year-old Kendra, are also facing. charges in Arkansas. Apparently, as part. of the ongoing investigation, authorities there charged them with. misdemeanor counts of four counts of. endangering the welfare of a minor and. four counts of false imprisonment. Now, these are both second-degree charges. Now, it is possible This is based on a. source that told I believe People. magazine that these charges could be. related to allegedly there being locks.

on the kids' doors in their house on the. exterior of the doors. We can't 100%. confirm that. Authorities haven't said. that. And authorities have been kind of. tight-lipped about this because these. are charges that seemingly are related. to minors. But, we do know the couple. shares four children together. So, before I even get into the new audio, we. actually have a big update for you. I. mentioned this before on our prior. sidebar. Do you remember when I said. that Joseph was arrested in Arkansas and. then he waived extradition to be sent. back to Florida to face those charges,

maybe in an effort to streamline the. process, right? Why fight it? Just go. there, hear the charges, possibly make bail, possibly get released. Well, that. seemingly just happened. People magazine. is reporting that after his first court. appearance in Bay County Court in. Florida, which we covered on yesterday's. sidebar, he was hit with a $600,000 bond. by the court. But, apparently, he's no. longer listed as an inmate there. And. even go to reporting from the AP, they.

indicate that he posted the $600,000. bond and that he's now on his way back. to Arkansas. And I'll tell you what's. interesting about that. So, we looked at. the court docket and it appears that. Joseph filed an application for indigent. status and that he wasn't seeking a. public defender, that his income was. listed as $0. So, it does become a money. issue how he was able to put up or. seemingly put up the $600,000 bond. unless somebody posted it on his behalf.

I will tell you, and we're going to get. into this in a little bit, he and his. wife talk about finances or seemingly. talk about finances and how to raise. money in their calls. But, I will let. you know, as part of his pre-trial. release, he can have no contact with the. alleged victim in the Florida case who. is 14 years old right now. He also can't. have any unsupervised contact with any. children under the age of 18. So, by all. accounts, that would appear to be his. children as well. And people also note. that there was no condition set for like. a GPS monitor, like an ankle monitor, or. anything like that. But, I do want to.

get to the jailhouse phone calls, okay? So, first context here, Joseph was. arrested March 18th. Reportedly, it was. on March 19th that he called Kendra, but. apparently she didn't respond or pick. up. Kind of heard through the phone. calls that maybe she was sleeping, she. didn't hear it. Uh by the way, he also. reportedly called a management. consultant that same day. Don't really. have more information on that at this. time. Now, he reportedly calls Kendra. again March 20th. They speak. This was. reportedly, by the way, 2 hours after. Kendra was booked and released on bond. for her Arkansas charges. There were. calls again on March 21st, March 22nd,

March 23rd. You have calls 20 March 24th. to 26th. This is all based on reporting. uh from Page Six. So, I want to get into. some of this new audio that we haven't. heard before. Take a listen to this. >> Uh yeah, Travis came last night, yeah. So, we got to talk over a bunch of stuff. and. um. So, and then I they served me those. papers that that he got an email. with uh. stuff. So, anyway, they served those to.

me last night. So, I have those after he. after he came, like 30 minutes later or 40 minutes. later, they they uh gave me the they. served them to me, I guess is what you. call it. So, but. he just pretty much tells what the. report is saying from people. So, anyway, you can look over it. Um. Anyway, it was kind of cute what Addy. said.

So. Yeah. It It just says, yeah, they have like. just a written statement from. a few of them, you know. So. And they have your statements of like um. the. you know, the stuff with the. with the allegations there. Um your conversations with the officers, that kind of thing.

So. But it is. Well, you just said that you're going to. you're going to you're. change stuff, but. So, but yeah, it wasn't. not a big deal. It's all stuff that we. already know. We already talked about. Um. Yeah, there's like. There's almost like there's like three. copies of the same thing. They all seem. alike to me, but maybe they're. different, I don't know. Uh but anyway,

the sergeants came in. talked to me last night. Um. Anyway. >> Now, that's interesting, right? Because. it seems like they may be talking about. the Arkansas charges, references to what. the kids said. I mentioned before that. it's possible the Arkansas charges could. be related to their children. We don't. know for sure. And also the idea of. change stuff. And the idea of change,

right? Change stuff. This is just my personal opinion. First. thing I thought about is that a. recognition that, let's say there was a. problem in the house and she agreed to. fix it. Maybe Are we talking negotiating. a deal of some kind, fixing the. situation, not going to do it again. I. don't know. I may be reading too much. into it, but I did think it was. interesting. And you have these. statements that Kendra apparently made. to law enforcement, too. No clue what. she said. No clue what she was asked. But Kendra also talks one point about. retaining counsel. >> Hi. >> Hey, I know that we just just know that.

we can't talk about law. here. Did Travis get a hold of you? >> Yeah, I've been talking to Travis. >> Oh, good. Good. >> I've I've got him as my attorney right. now. >> Okay. >> Um I don't know if you know that. I I. asked him to be my attorney. >> Yeah, I didn't I didn't know who exactly. we'd settle with, but that's good. >> Well, it's not for you. It's only for. me. I mean I mean he can he can work. with you, but it's just I I said I. needed somebody um for the case that.

we've got going um with the kids and. stuff. >> And I talked about this on a previous. sidebar, you know, it'll be very. difficult for an attorney to represent. uh two defendants in the same case, conflicting interests, particularly if. he's facing, you know, heightened. charges uh in Florida that may or may. not be connected to the investigation in. Arkansas. So, I wouldn't be surprised if. you can't have the same attorney. representing both clients there. But. here, let me move on to again, new. audio. They acknowledge the shock of the. situation. They recognize seemingly that. their calls are being recorded.

just. embrace where God has me um and just. start. where I am, you know, like Joseph. I the story of Joseph how he just. he had to be where he was and embrace. the situation and serve God. >> Yeah, that's true. Yeah, I want you to. stay encouraged cuz I don't. >> Yeah. >> I'm. I I know and I feel like I can't be. there for as much for you right now. >> No, it's fine. >> Um so I know the Lord I okay, because.

I'm I have my. my own battles that I'm dealing with and. so. >> You have a you have a lot of things. you're you have a lot of things you're. doing, sweetie. >> And this is interesting, too, how it's. all about the kids. But in another call, you kind of hear about where they might. be. >> Yeah, so I'm just like I just don't know. I feel like I had to put you on the I. was telling I was trying to sort this. out last night in my head. And I was. like I have my, you know, um my prayer warriors are the kids.

>> Yes. >> And that's the only thing that I'm able. to focus on. And then I'm trying to keep. this all. but I'm just I have to do it anything. and everything for the kids right now. and for myself. Cuz I'm not I'm not. well. I did actually I got 7 hours a. night people No, 6 hours 6 hours the. night before. And I got a little food in. at the end of the day. I went on an ATV. drive. with um you know who um and um it was.

wonderful and we just blasted music, worshiping and. we didn't sing our hearts out and then I. wasn't able to eat when I got home a. little bit of food even though it's the. most I've been able to eat probably all. week. And I got a little bit of strength. back where I was able to walk not like. cuz I was I mean I was. >> Yeah, you were struggling you said. Yeah. >> Yeah, um. and so I and I can't So anyways, I'm. trying to focus my goal is everybody. here.

know, know, people are like coaches here. are saying. make sure you take care of yourself so. that you can make good decisions for. you know, the kids and stuff. I'm doing that and. and so I just I don't know how to be. there for you and the baby and all this. and so. >> No, that's totally fine, honey. I'm. >> Yeah. >> I'll be fine. The kids just need you. So, I'm. >> Okay, I know. I know. >> And what I I do appreciate you taking my. calls cuz that's very encouraging to me.

just to hear your voice and and uh. I I uh. I want you to know I think about your. your sweet laugh all the time. Now, are the the kids doing well? >> Um from what I hear, they are doing. good. >> That's good. Well, >> Yeah, I. I Yeah, I don't know. >> Yeah, no, >> what you know, but. >> I I uh. Yeah, I've I've not talked to Travis. yet, but I will. >> See, I called that up because I had.

previously been a little bit confused. It seemed It seemed based on the charges. that Kendra was facing, it maybe. wouldn't make sense that the kids would. be allowed with her, right? And yet. based on some of the conversations in. the jailhouse tapes and I don't know, I've seen reporting about this I've kind. of heard it myself that arguably you. could hear the kids in the background. during the calls, I thought maybe maybe. the kids were with her, but here, maybe. that's not the case, right? Talking. about where the kids are. So, maybe. they're with family, but you see either. way, the emphasis is on them, being.

there for them. Oh, and talking about. the family, talking about the Duggar. family, despite the wave of responses that we. have heard from family members in the. wake of their arrest, particularly. Joseph's arrest and the charges, I I. covered this on previous sidebars, very. harsh pointed language at Joseph. To. give you an idea, Joseph's sister, Joy-Anna Duggar, wrote on her Instagram. story, "What has come out about my. brother is heartbreaking and deeply. disturbing. My heart is with the victim. and I am grieved by the pain and harm.

caused. I have been a wreck this week. and in taking time to process, I have a. few pre-film commitments that I have to. post, but I'll be taking some. much-needed time with my family. Thank. you for your prayers and I should note, he is innocent until proven guilty, okay? But you're hearing this language. But based on his conversation in these. calls with Kendra, doesn't it seem the family has really. been there for them? >> And it's just. >> They're going to have. >> Tell Joy. Um thank you for me and I love her so. much. Um.

she's she's just an amazing. Sounds like for you through all this. Um. >> Mhm. >> Just I want to I want to be sure that. you tell her specifically and mama. Those two especially. I don't I don't. know who all else is involved. I know. that I'm. >> Oh, the entire. Oh, the entire family. They all have. their departments basically that they're. taking the case and helping with. I mean. They It's like this these these ones are. working on the case, these ones are. working on me, these ones are working on.

this attorney. These these ones are. working on business. These ones I mean. it's just I mean, the whole family I. think they just generally are like, we. love you guys and we're here for you. But they told me they said, we don't. want to make any decisions for you. They. just said, we're here to support you cuz. and I've been struggling cuz I was like, I just need to know, you know, what's. going on in some regard. Um but I I. can't carry the load at all in such a.

way that yeah, we're She's like, if. you're ever feeling comfortable and you. don't want something Everyone's like, you know, what is your take on this? These are my So I've just been trying to. cuz I want to be able to take everything. over and I want advice, but I don't. Yeah. But I've been. And I've been struggling. with Yeah, like how much of. >> Oh, it's hard to It's hard to receive. help, I know. Yeah. >> Yeah, it's like, >> No, but you need it. You need it.

>> I know. I know. Well, I. Uh yeah, I was I was going to say that I. feel like that I. um. uh. I can't be uh you know, alone for too. long, either. >> Yeah, and I think that's that's what we. were realizing actually right before all. this broke out was that, hey, we. actually need need to be around people. because we've been away from people for. so long. people, and so, I think that's good that. you're doing that still. >> Yeah. >> Again, I'm assuming this is all in. reference to Joseph's family. God is going to be trying to help us. because he's in control. I mean, okay, I. don't mind calls. lot of people want to talk to you. >> So, I think an interpretation would be. the family is still there for him. Family still loves him, praying for him. Not entirely sure. Um I'll also say. this, a lot of their conversations are. about what life has been like since. their arrest, like, being detained, especially for Joseph, who was inside. the uh Washington County Detention. Center in Arkansas, what it was like when he was staying. there. >> I guess they keep you have a clock 2:00. >> No, no, there's no clock.

>> Oh. I think your room might have been. similar to the one that I was in, but. I don't think. >> Well, so the the the room that you were. in was probably their their main holding. room when they bring people in. It's. about this big, I think. >> Oh, it's bigger than yours? >> I think so, unless. >> Oh, or it was deep. Huh? >> Yeah, it was pretty deep. Yeah. So, that. was um. that's what Yeah, that's where I was. I. I was I was in one of those. I was just.

sitting on that you know, concrete bench. thing. >> Yeah. >> And then um. they moved me to a room that's about. half the size. Um. and so, like there's there's still like. the the toilet sink thing there, but. then. this one at least has a little sliver. You can see if it's light or dark, which. is actually nice. So. >> Oh. >> But you can't see anything out the. window or anything like that. You don't. see any details of anything out the win-. out that little window, but um.

>> Yeah. >> you can just see if it's dark or light. outside pretty much. >> Do they give you a mat to sleep on? >> Yeah, it's like a mat on like it's like. a concrete bench is what it was. >> Yeah. >> And then they put a mat that's like a. 3-in 4-in thick. >> Yeah. Wow. >> So, as long as I sleep on my back, I'm. pretty okay, but if I try to sleep on my. side too long, it I my ribs. >> Oh, yeah. >> stuff, so I'm I'm I think I'm back to. where I get used to it, though.

Aw. >> Yeah, it's it's funny cuz all day. yesterday there was one guy having this. whole tantrum thing, and then he I was. kind of waiting till he went to sleep. He got all processed through. Um and then. I I went to sleep for just a little. while. I mean, I don't know how long, really, but it was. >> Yeah. >> a little while, but then this other guy.

was doing a fit for 2 plus 2 or 3 hours. throughout the night. Just. Well, he was just. talking really loud and. and. giving them. >> Wow. >> They were having to de-escalate him the. whole time and. like every other word was the F-word. type thing. >> Wow. >> Anyways, so. >> Yeah. So, and. >> And I will also say this, in these phone. calls, you get a sense of the actual. real-time emotional, psychological,

financial impact of the arrest. I mean, you think about it, we cover cases all. the time what it's like for somebody to. be arrested and charged. You're getting. the real-world implications of this. Listen to Kendra talking about the. difficulties that she's having. >> And just if you could pray for my house. cuz I I don't know if I'm I'm just been. really really fatigued in the last 2. days, I think. It's been the all of the. of the discouraged cuz I thought, you. know, yesterday was the first day it hit.

me like I couldn't move after moving the. stuff downstairs. I just was completely. thought like my entire body was just. turning off. Oh, I was saying to you. that I had we should have sent this. anxiety. I was reading over the. papers. You know, I was kind of getting. discouraged a bit. >> Mhm. Everyone just Everyone I've. heard from or whatever says that you've. just been. doing amazing, so. >> Oh. >> Yeah. >> It's a little miracle. Anyone that says.

that, I know it's not me because, like I. said, I don't know how I'm standing on. two feet after everything. I've been through. And I it's by and. large just saying, "This is just the. grace of God being poured out on you.". And she's like, "You You're so strong. and you're going to make it." And. so it's just. it's been crazy. >> Mhm. >> I I do think that I'm going to look back. and I I I've already looked back on. Friday and I've looked back on Wednesday. and I've been like,

"I don't know how I did that." You know, cuz and and I'm just. I just have to say it's it must be God. pouring out his grace on me. And it's. just enough grace for each day is what. they told me. And I mean cuz sometimes I. start looking into the future and I get. so. overwhelmed. and I just don't know what it holds. But. I'm like, everyone keeps telling me, "You just taking one step right now. You're just doing one day.". >> That's right. >> And. >> That's what I'm doing. I'm just I'm just.

>> Yeah. >> you know, I'm not. not thinking about what the future could. be or or any of that. I'm just I'm just. focusing on, you know what? I'm supposed to be here today. So. >> Yeah. >> If this is where God has me today, I'm. just going to make the best of it and. I'm going to. >> Yeah. >> be faithful with what I have right in. front of me. >> Yeah. >> That's That's my attitude. whole situation, too. Cuz I think that. God can work with people who. are in the moment, you know, whenever. whenever you're willing to be present.

where you are, God can use that. And he. >> Yeah. >> He can He can work. for us or in us, you know, in greater. ways if we're if we're not trying to. think and like for me, I mean obviously. I can't think ahead very far. cuz I don't know what the future is. anyway. So I'm just like, "No, I'll just. be I'll just be present where I am." Cuz. if I think about the future, I it can. make it worse for me and all that. >> Oh, yeah. >> And so anyway, it's just.

that's where I I am on everything. >> So. >> I know, and I think that's just what we. have to do. And it I still have the. emotions, like the ups and the downs. It's just. it's it's crazy. Like yesterday I was. like. I woke up and just was not feeling good. at all. When you talked to me yesterday, you knew. Um but and and I just was like shaking. like I was shaking, rattling, and. tapping, and just I just couldn't handle. it. >> I was kind of. for the first few days. Um.

>> Yeah. >> randomly, you know. >> Uh-huh. And some of it was shock. But then some of it was just the. anxiety. >> Mhm. >> It depends on what it is, but yesterday. it was just in fact I had to squeeze. them and. listen to music and you know, all the. things. And then waiting time for. that for a meeting, I I just felt like. I was scared out of my mind, but it was. like God went what for me.

And it was just. Um and then I was able to eat. afterwards, thank goodness. I was able. to eat one sandwich. That's why. that it's just really. Mama keeps trying to get me to eat. She's like "You really need to eat. something." And I'm like, "I will try.". But unless it's liquid, it doesn't. really go down. So it's like. it's a. it's been a battle. >> Listen to Mama. Try to. >> Yeah. They said they said I got to be. well to to to take care of all these.

decisions and everything and so. Anyways, we got we got a. All I know is good to hear you you sound. really good and so that makes me happy. >> Oh. >> I I didn't feel good after our last. conversation. I had a lot of because I. was like it felt really weird and tense. and like we didn't really talk about. anything and I was like. I. I was like I don't feel good. So after. it, you know, but it's fine. Like you. know, I I I knew I I didn't know what. happened and so, anyways. >> Yeah. >> Ooh, sorry. I'm walking.

>> Oh. >> I can hardly walk. I get really winded. cuz I'm so weak. >> Oh. >> And my legs and my body. I lost my. laugh, too. Like it's a silent laugh. >> And again, she's innocent until proven. guilty, too. But you even hear the real world. decisions of how to financially survive. this and maybe raise money and pay for. expenses. Maybe it was the bond that I. mentioned before. >> But it's I'll just relay stuff to them, but. >> Yeah. >> Uh anyways, I I think I got off the.

phone and it was I was saying I think he. said something about the trailer. He was. saying what do you think about that? With all the tools in there. >> of tools in it, so I mean, I'm okay with. selling it, you know, cuz. Um I just don't think they'll fit in. that um. tool shed thing. >> The ranch. Oh. >> Yeah. I like I like. built-in. >> That's true. I feel like what I don't know if they'd. really bring that much. Really?

>> Well, I mean, it'd bring something. um but. um. Yeah, I mean, sell the other ones, though. I would say. Sell all of our other trailers for now. >> He was really on it and remembering some. of that stuff. >> and um. fixing the other house then. >> Yeah. >> we'll be getting the income from both of. those and that would be a good. >> Yeah, that's what they're wanting to do. Yeah, they want us to get And do you. think we'll make. um.

>> It'll be. >> I guess you don't know. >> You know, it'll be it'll be tight, I. think, but I think you can I think you. make it on that. >> Okay. >> Um. >> Okay. >> And then, yeah. >> But yeah, I might get. either add more or get sell and just go. put it into houses. >> But I. >> But. I don't know what they think I think. everyone thinks it's more advantageous. that I have the money right now cuz I'm. getting money right now from those. >> so you're getting a consistent stream. That's really important for you. You. could even. >> Yes, the most important. >> You could just sell, you know, part of.

it. You know, you could sell. maybe the house or something, you know, the bigger one. And then, you know, you could. I don't know. >> Yeah. Or maybe I can pay the HELOC down, and I. could take another loan out and build. another one or something. >> Yeah, because you don't have to you. don't have to do a secure new HELOC. All. you have to do is just get it down. to. Well, yeah, you just get it close like. down to 15,000 or something like that. >> And in these conversations, they also.

talk about scripture a lot. They talk. about religion. They talk about God. Trying to stay strong. >> The chapters that have spoken out to me, I just kind of like get them on the side. of a Styrofoam cup. But. >> Aw. >> It was interesting, though. I was like I was reading through Exodus. Um something that was really. interesting. Uh it was talking about. boundaries. Um. the the devotional side of it. It. actually said that the the conversation. that Jethro had with Moses, you know,

which Jethro was was a follower of. Moses. >> Mhm. >> It said that he it was a very. well-boundaried. conversation. It was It was interesting. that they brought that out. And it was. like Jethro came to him adult to adult. kind of conversation. >> Mhm. >> And he was like, "Hey, this might help. you." And he's like, "But it's your He. like He's like, "But it's your choice, you know, in the end." And then Moses. took that advice, and it helped him, you. know, significantly.

But then it said that Aaron. another time it mentioned the boundaries. was when Aaron um. built the golden calf. Um when he was up on the mountain. Yeah, I was just, you know, just thinking. about her. Praying for her, because I. know that this weighs on her heavily, too. Um. >> Yeah. >> You can you can let her know that. um I'm very. very thankful for her support for you. Um. >> Yeah. >> And I know she's. she's done a lot um probably in this.

whole journey of stuff. And so. just make that make sure she knows that. I love her. I was I was praying in Psalm. 54 over her too. Cuz I feel like. >> Oh. >> the attacks that are coming to our. family are also coming probably to her. Or she feels the pressure of it. >> Now look, they seemingly deliberately. didn't want to say too much on a. recorded line, right? After all that can. be used as evidence at trial. We've seen. that happen before. I will tell you I. didn't see anything standing out uh from.

these calls as far as I could tell that. would really be probative evidence, relevant evidence at trial. But look, I. think the bigger takeaway is it's hard. to know exactly how they feel about the. charges, how they feel about the. allegations. But at the very least, what. you're hearing is a very. personal series of conversations, a very. personal account of what they're going. through. And we'll see what happens next.
