Workout Techniques for People Who Don't Work Out
We've invented some revolutionary new. exercises. Let's talk about that. [Music]. Good mythical morning. You probably. can't tell, but I don't work out. And uh the reason I don't work out is. because it's boring. Bench press, pushup, situps. Come on, come up with. something new.
We ask you to ask us for uh physical. exertion related aka Exercise of Ice. And we are responding to you people. specifically to Meline. Rogers. Go ahead. Yeah, you go. I was going to say I'm so. glad you asked this question because it. ties perfectly into the fact that I'm. totally bored with exercise. Meline asks, "If there was a workout. move or routine named after each of you, what would it consist of?" This is. great. Our previous workout scheme, two. guys, two weights.
Keep your back arched. Can you say tumbler gy? It didn't work out. No pun intended, but. pun intended. So, now is our opportunity. to develop our own individual workout. regimes. Rhett, you first. I've got two. I'm not going to limit myself to one new. exercise when I can come up with two. The first one is called jumping rats. You've heard of jumping jacks. Why does. Jack get all the credit? Huh? What did. Jack do?
All he did was jump up in the air and. hit his hands over his head. Any. could do that. Well, it's simple. It's elegant. But not everybody can do a jumping rat. A jumping r is very simple. All you have. to do is jump and get to my height. That's it. I mean, you could probably do. it pretty easily. A little kid, that's. quite a workout. Okay. No trampolines, kids. You can't use. trampolines. All you got to do is jump. up to 6'7. Do you have to be present? Uh, no. You can you can get a mannequin. You can get a mannequin of me. And you sell that.
I sell that. Okay. I get it. I get it. See how it works? Yeah. Okay. You got another one? Uh, yeah. This is where I meet. stretching. Wretching. It's pretty much just stretching. Named. after me. It also sounds like vomiting. You can stretch until you throw up, though. I I highly recommend that. And. then you're. Is that Is that even possible? Oh yeah, I've done it. It's not desirable. Okay, get your. hamstrings going. I'm calling mine the link system because. it's got it's got three steps. Step one,
uh lowweight, high rep, the glasses. pushup. You didn't know that every time I did. this in an episode, I was I'm working. out. Wow. Now, what about the left? At first, sometimes that sometimes both. And listen, a few Oh, that's easy. Oh, that's easy. do 400 and you'll be like, you know how like you're you're just. like bench pressing a bar and you look. like an idiot cuz but you burn it. What if you don't have glasses? You You sell those.
I sell those. You're a genius. I should sell those. All right. The next. one is called the good mythical squat. What you may not realize is that I'm. constantly air chair squatting here. while doing this show. 10 minutes of. just air chairing. Look, you think you. think I'm sitting in this chair? Look, I'm not sitting in this chair. Look, put. a chair. See? See? Look. Whoa. I don't need the chair. It's a prop. You look a Your posture changed a little. bit. I I And I do sell the chair, by the way. I sell the chair. That's part of But. yeah, I'm just You can push it back, but.
you don't have to. All right. Just push it back. I'm not I don't use. it, but go ahead and push it back. Okay. Go ahead and push it. Yeah, there you. go. I'm not going to use it, but. it looked like you just sat down. I got. I got to be honest with you. It looks. like you adjusted a little bit. All right. And then lastly, as I. continue to to do that and do this 400. times, the wheel spin. This is. highweight, low wrap. What you don't. realize, guys, is that this thing right. here weighs 1,500 lb. And I'm just very strong. I can even I.
can even stop it. Rhett, give it a shot. Come on. I can do this. Holy moly. Sorry about that. I hit your guitar. See? See how heavy it is? All right, let me adjust the tension. Harder than I anticipated. Adjust it. I'm playing along with him. I want him to feel good about himself. The tension down now. Give it a shot. Oh lord. 1500 lb worth of uh worth of tension.
There you go. The link system. You sell that wheel. I go 50/50 though. cuz I mean this is our show. I mean you. can sell the glasses cuz I don't wear. them. I'll sell the mannequin of me 100%. but 50/50 I will. Alex Catz Merrick asks, "How do I. exercise my jaw so I can eat more?". I thought this was a great question and. it seemed to me the kind of thing that. was probably already answered on the. internet. Don't want to reanswer something. Uh so I actually found from a post uh. 2006 post on forum.bodybuilding.com.
yesterday has been asked. The question. was phrased in this way and it was. answered many times. Uh, I know this. must sound random as beep, but I want to. increase my jaw muscle size to achieve a. tougher, more manly looking face. There. are muscles there, so obviously they can. be made bigger. All I need to know is. how. First guy responds, Smeaggle. Now, is this the point where I admit that. I've also thought about this seriously? You don't need to increase that jaw any. really. If anybody know does that, it's.
me. I need to be doing these exercises. Attach some weights to some tough. string. Find a groove in your teeth and. do some reps. That's an answer. Offered up. That's an. answer. Pick it up. Offered. Chew lots. They all talk the same way. Chew lots of. gum and other tough things to increase. jaw muscle strength, but opening the. mouth uses different muscles. I think. you should try to develop a way of doing. reverse chew by adding resistance to the. opening of the mouth. Wow. People are trying to be helpful.
So, think about that. Just just I and. you can do I tried this. Try to open. your mouth. Yeah, don't let yourself open your mouth. That's a TMJ disorder exercise. Seriously. And Rock Huy said, "All jokes aside, this will do it. I've chewed gum for. most of the day, almost every day for. the last few years, and I got some. decent jaw musculature." I don't know. that it's a huge deal, but I guess it. does square out the jaw some. So, get. chewing. Oh, and if you really want to. go for it, add more gum. Chewing five.
pieces better than chewing one piece. So. there you go. We don't have to reanswer questions that. have been answered on bodybuilding. forums which we all frequent. You know what day it is? It's Thursday. Sorry. And Thursday. means mail. [Music]. I forgot the chord to the song we play. every Thursday. Dear Rhett and Link, I.
drew Link. Sorry about that. And was encouraged by deviant art users. Look at that. Rhett. And. you want me to hold it like this? She. She drew it sideways. That's. Oh, it's portrait. Oh, you scared me. there for a second. Thought that was a. new thing. Destiny. That is utterly amazing. I'm going to get it to be the real photo. realistic size. I'm going to the same. size as your head. Lange Canada. Now, can you make that face? No. It's It's more subtle. More face.
towards the camera. A little more interested than that. It's not really me, is it? Yeah, it's not you. It's much better than the real me. And I. appreciate that. Destiny, that is great. Destiny, listen to this. Your destiny was to draw Link. Also, Rhett, I would have loved to draw. you, too, but the beard would have been. the death of me. So, instead of drawing. you, I drew a cat. What? And that is that's an amazing cat. That's not a cat. That's a that's a.
demon. It's a demon cat. It's a hairless demon. cat. Well, hold on, Destiny. Which is which is a which ironically. enough is a nice rendering of you? That's what I want to know now. I think. it's it's one thing to just draw. something else out of the blue. But did. am I the inspiration for this demon cat? Do the voice. No, I need to do a side by. side. I think Oh, side by side. Make it photo realistic size. look more this this direction.
Yeah. Yeah, does look like me, doesn't it? And I got a I got another great letter. we're going to have to get to in G. mythical more. So, what suspicious that Link has. rigged the wheel? Now I'm even more. suspicious. Think about it. Okay. Did you rig this wheel? You're telling me.
How did you know it was going to land. on? Tell me I spun the wheel and I made it. land on. red suspicious that Link has rigged the. wheel. It's like self-fulfilling prophecy is. all. Come on. Don't start talking about. prophecy here. Just come clean, brother. You're in here. You I you come down here. sometimes. I think you're in there using. the the John. You're down here doing. something to this thing. I would never. Is that what the wrench is for? I No, I wouldn't I wouldn't rig the. wheel. I got to admit, I'm kind of impressed.
Do it again. Of course I do. Do it again. Do it again. Do it again. [Applause]. [Laughter]. Oh my goodness. Wasn't me. Did you ring the wheel? Dr. Mr. McL Oh, I just. I don't know. Dr. and Mrs. Mclofflin. Well, that might. be a lot of people see us that way.
