We Tried EVERY Pretzel

Today we're tasting every flavor of Snyder's pretzels. Let's talk about that. ((Intro Music)). Good Mythical Morning. When you think of pretzels. you might be thinking big, soft, and twisty. But, hard pretzel snacks have come a long way. Oh yeah, a long, long way. There are dozens of shapes, sizes, flavors, and all. types of stuff out there. And Snyder's. Snyder's. Surprisingly has a crazy amount of them.

Who knew? Well, you know what we do when we discover something. has a surprisingly crazy amount of flavors. We have them fed to us like the man. babies that we are, and score them from 1 to 100? That's right. It's time for Gut Check, Snyder's Edition. - [Stevie] Okay, kings. Today you'll try 27 Snyder's varieties and give them. a score of 1 to 100 based on your gut reactions. to decide which is best. In case you need a palate cleanser, you have soda. water because pretzels are made with baking soda.

Oh, cool. ((Laughing)). Okay, and I see that I have a scoring aid, thank you. for thinking of me again, but don't get it twisted. I think this might be the most unhelpful scoring aid so far. Yeah. The circuitous path is confusing me. You're gonna tie. He's going to tie himself in a knot. Let's see what I've got. You know, I will say that I'm kind of excited about this. because it's not cardboard. It's not an abacus though. What is it? It is. Oh.

Is it a window shade? What is that? There's rings? What are you? 19, 21, 5, 24, 1, 13. Is it for everybody's keys? ((Laughing)). The numbers aren't in order. - [Stevie] It's an advent calendar. ((Laughing)). For everybody's keys. Okay. Lay it out. But it doesn't go to 100, it just goes to 24.

Your score's gonna be off today, homie. Okay, alright. - [Stevie] Alright, we're gonna kick it off with our traditional. pretzels category, starting with Butter Snaps. Butter Snaps. Okay. It's a square. Very buttery. Wow. I sort of like it. I'm pretty surprised at how buttery it is. Never had that before. 70! I'm gonna go to, uh, 60. - [Stevie] Sourdough. Oh, sourdough.

It's a big! Whoa! Oh. Hey. We're gonna get a dry mouth, man. - [Link] Oh, yeah. - [Rhett] You're gonna have trouble. That's not good. You're gonna be waking up. That's bad. Dry mouth. It's too hard. Why is it so bad? - [Rhett] It's too hard. And it tastes kind of just burnt. Tastes like a fossil. I'm gonna give that one, a 12. - [Rhett] Are you sure that's not just a fossil? - [Stevie] Well, the next one's called, Olde Tyme. Okay, well I'm gonna, I gotta give that one a 50.

- [Stevie] Oh, oh sorry. Olde Tyme? This is better. This one looks burnt, just by the looks. It tastes a little burnt, but like in a good, like, burnt popcorn way. I actually really like it. It's much less fossily than the other one. It's much better than the other one, you're right. Oh, that's unexpected, 72! 25 for me. - [Stevie] Also say that olde has an E on the end, and tyme, has a Y instead of an I. Kinda like you could put the word ye in front of it.

Yeah. - [Stevie] Yes. Like ye Old Spaghetti Factory? - [Stevie] Thins. are next. Look at that. It's barely there. - [Link] It is impressively thin. It's barely there. That's just a little pretzel. Makes me feel like I'm eating fish hooks. It's hard to come to a conclusion about that. It was so small. Yeah, there's nothing notable about the taste. It's just so thin. It's too thin. 49. ((Laughing)). I'm gonna give it a 20. - [Stevie] Dipping Sticks. I'm gonna turn my phone off so I can concentrate.

A Dipping Stick without something to dip. - [Link] An undipped Dipping Stick. That's a sad. - [Rhett] It's actually really bland. Like, it's made to dip. They're asking for it. It's unsalted, almost. I mean, that's not great, guys. That's a 38. 10. - [Stevie] Mini. This looks just like a normal little. That's just a, that's a, a small pretzel. Not too thin.

All this is, is a small pretzel. That's decent. Can you tell that we're searching? 40, 45. It's, I mean, I like it, but I don't love it. 58. - [Stevie] Itty Bitty Mini. Oh, gosh. These are smaller. You see where this is going? - [Link] Look at that. Look how small it is. Whistle through it. ((Attempting To Whistle)). It's like it couldn't hold the salt. Can you taste the smallness? Yeah, it's underwhelming. I think you can. Like, yeah, I completely agree.

It's a little too bland. 15. Not enough surface area. 37. - [Stevie] Unsalted Mini. This'll be great. High blood pressure. Okay. That's solid. Oh, you want to salt it yourself? Did I say that? No, or you want to salt it, you know those pizza places that. you used to have to take home and make the pizza yourself? - [Link] Yeah. I'm glad they all shut down. But you know what I'm talking about. They did shut down, didn't they?

They should have. That's a 9 for me. You want me to salt my own pretzel? 8. - [Stevie] Sticks. You feel like you really gave it to them? - [Rhett] That was part of something else. You know, if it was like I made a, a special little like. food kind of like decoration and I used these sticks to. like create a spiky hair. Okay. - [Rhett] In that situation it would be good, but by itself? You could build, you could build a, a cabin.

Like a pretzel. Pretzel cabin. A log pretzel cabin. Like a boy scout kind of thing? Yeah, I mean that definitely sends me to 12. 44. Dang son. - [Stevie] Snaps. I got to be wowed. - [Rhett] What'd you call it? Snacks? - [Stevie] Snaps. Snaps. Oh, so this is like the Butter Snap without the butter. - [Stevie] Yeah. It needs the butter. The butter was so good. I do like the consistency of this, though. I'll give it a 59. I think more than any other Gut Check, and I.

know that it's hard for you to make sense of how. I rate things, and I know. But this is, this is the one that's the. most polarizing for me. It's either really good or really bad. There's not a lot in the middle. I'm at. I'm still at 15 for this. - [Stevie] Sourdough Nibblers. Oh, this is like one that popped open. You see that? Uh huh. Got like a. You supposed to nibble it, or is it. supposed to look like somebody else already did? Somebody been nibbling on my Nibbler.

This feels like a stretch. You know, like, you didn't need to do this one. I'm okay with it, though. It just tastes like every other pretzel that's. been burst open, though. I like that. I like it more than I don't like it, so. I'm giving it a 57. But I'm just saying, I didn't think y'all needed to make it. I'm definitely, I'm actually back at a 50 for this. - [Stevie] Rods. Goodness. Okay. ((Laughing)). How long you think that is? Does it taste like fish?

((Laughing)). Does it taste like fish? Is that what you said? I don't know what it is, but it tastes fish. It's kinda like an untwisted pretzel. It tastes bad to me. There's a taste on it. The first rod was a, was an accident. So, it was somebody's first day and they were doing all. the pretzel knots and then they got a phone call and they. were like, oh, I don't know. I don't know what to do. And they took the call and they made a. bunch of rods. Snyder? Snyder stepped away? It was like the Snyder grandson. First day on the pretzel line.

Are Snyder kids, grandkids, are they all like just. knotting up pretzel dough? They probably got a yacht, I would think. They're doing it on a yacht? The Snyder yacht. Yeah, but they're still doing it. A knot yacht. - [Stevie] That's not the name of the next pretzel. I'm giving it a 30. Those feel like they could be a little dangerous. I'm gonna go with a 47. - [Stevie] Home Style Pretzel Rings. It's just a, it's just a O, It's just a ring.

Here's a little hot tip. Now that kind of has an old time kind of taste to it. A lot of these taste exactly the same. I don't know. Yeah, that's why I'm going to keep it in the 50s. Like, 53, really. You can put a napkin through it. Oh, that's a great idea. And put it, put it on your place same. What was the napkin ring? 52. - [Stevie] And that concludes the traditional pretzels category.

Okay. - [Stevie] Next category is Twisted Pretzel Sticks and Rounds. When are we gonna get to some flavor? Yeah, I know they make flavors. - [Stevie] Starting with Seasoned. Oh, seasoned with what? Let's find out. Oh, man. Okay. Oh, this is what we've been needing. Flavor. Whoa, I mean, my whole scale is moving. I don't even know what the flavor is, but it's great. It's seasoned. 84. That's a good pretzel.

I mean, that's good. What is happening? It's super salty, tangy, is it? It's sour cream, almost. - [Link] Yeah. - [Rhett] It's great. Uh, yeah, I'm gonna give that a, see, I don't, because. we've come out of the dark ages of. I might go above 100, I don't know. I don't think that I should go, I should get too excited. I'm still going with a 70. 70. 70. I already gave something a 70. I have to keep my scale consistent. - [Stevie] Nacho Cheese. Oh.

It's good, it's not as good as that Seasoned one though. It's not. It doesn't have as much tang to it. 71. 65. Now we're talking! Yeah, Stevie! - [Stevie] Jalapeño Ranch. Oh, I like both of those things. I want to like it, but this feels like one you. keep going back to and not realizing why you were. Because it's not great, but you feel like. you want more of it. 66. - [Link] I don't know what just the normal seasoning.

is, but it was great. 69. - [Stevie] Sour Cream and Onion. There it is. I took that whole one from you. It's not as good as Seasoned. No, it's not. What do they do with Seasoned? Seasoned is so secretive. It's like knowing what you're expecting is not a good thing. 65 again. Like, you could've done better on this one. It's got a fakey taste to it. It's very strong, but I'm going all the way.

I still wanna keep eating it, but I'm going to 59. - [Stevie] So we just looked up Seasoned, and it says buttery. blend of spices including onion, garlic, and pepper. Well, it works. It's the best. It works. So far. - [Stevie] Sea Salt Rounds. Okay. Okay. Oh, it's not a round, it's one. It's a ball. That's an interesting way to eat a pretzel. Yeah, it's like, it's like sucking on the end. of an old timey gun.

How do you think, how do you think they got that one? What did, what did the Snyder grandkids do. to screw up to make that one? - [Link] I don't know. Maybe they're trying to hunt birds with it. No, I don't. Let's hunt birds with pretzels. I think they, I think they got a call while. they were trying to. You know, they were over the vat. Okay? And it was just like, and it just kind of like, things. just came out in all kinds of shapes, and some of them. were little, little balls. Little turds. And then the other grandkid was like, we should. try that on the yacht. Next time we're on the yacht, we should try those.

The salt is different on this. I'd say it's from the sea. 51. I like it more than I don't. 61. Butter Rounds. Oh, I got two. The butter flavor y'all are getting is working. I like the butter and the other thing better though. But where'd you get the butter flavor? It's popcorny. It's like, if I didn't know better, I would. have thought I was just eating a thing of popcorn.

Like a half popped popcorn. - [Link] Yep. With no kernel. I quite like it. 74. 54. - [Stevie] That concludes the Twisted and Rounds category. Your final category is Flavored Pretzel Pieces. Thank, God. These are, I've gotten lost in the bag of these before. I think this is where we're gonna really start. to just go off the page. - [Stevie] Starting with Nashville Hot. Okay. Very crunchy. There's something about the texture of these.

Pickley. Whoa! Hot. That's so good! Ca ca ca ca cayenne! That's. That is great. The pickle, the spice, the texture, 90! 81. Oh! - [Stevie] Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't hear your. 81. - [Rhett] 81. Oh! I said 90. Did you hear him say that? - [Stevie] Oh. 90! - [Stevie] Alright. I was, we were trying to find if, uh, Snyder had a yacht. So far we cannot find a yacht. There's no Snyder yacht?

Knot yacht. - [Stevie] That doesn't, it just, it might not be, it might be. private information. I'd like to go on the Snyder yacht. - [Stevie] Parmesan Garlic. Okay. This usually works. Spot on. Exactly what you would expect on a wing. Not as good as the Hot Chicken, though. I want more, I want more tang, you know? Yeah, I'm in. It's still a great pretzel. 64. I'm still at 75. I mean, I'm gonna, I'm gonna recommend it. Honey Mustard and Onion.

Danger. And onion? Sweet. - [Rhett] I think this is the one that we had in that bag one time. Remember when we got in that bag? Yeah, when we got out, it was empty. Oh man. This is so, these are so good. This is a, no, this is special. Is it better than Nashville Hot? I don't know. I don't think so. Because I like spicy and I love pickles. It's a little more mild. I think it's got more staying power. Yeah. You could really get lost in a bag. 88. 88. It's great. Um, 88. It's great.

Whoa. Double 88s. Yep. Cha cha ching. - [Stevie] Hot Buffalo Wing. Okay. Yeah. They're doing a lot of like, chicken wing flavor. I'd like a bag with all these mixed up. It makes me think that it's like hard chicken pieces. Okay, well, it's not. It's pretzels. Well, I know that. - [Rhett] Well, don't ruin it for me. I don't love this one. I do. 54. I think it's a solid 83.

It ain't hot chicken. It's not hot chicken. - [Stevie] Cheddar Cheese. Okay, gotta, gotta keep everybody happy. Can you go wrong? It's good. You'd eat a lot of those if I had them. Took them on a camping trip. You'd be asking for more, I'm telling you right now. But a lot of the burnt of a pretzel comes through. I'm really surprised that it. - [Rhett] The burnt? It doesn't come harder. 81. 68. - [Stevie] Peanut Butter Filled. Whoa, hold on, let's get ready for this.

What? What? Gotta get all that spice out of our mouth. You know the peanut butter boys about to go ham. Peanut butter boys didn't know this was gonna happen. I didn't know this was here. Oh, they're filled. I'm sorry. This is like that thing, remember that time we. were working on something? Was it Buddy System? And they had these in the crafty. Every day. - [Rhett] Oh, man. And it's the only one that has anything close to, if you consider, I guess you can consider peanut.

butter sweet, right? It's definitely, you can, because it is. It's got sugar in it. It definitely gotta make the top three. I don't know if it's the best one I've had yet. I'm gonna give it an 88. I'm gonna give it an 88 as well! Yeah! Double 88s, double time! - [Stevie] Jalapeño Pieces. Smells exactly right. I love a straight jalapeño flavor. When you get it right, you get it right. It's better than the other jalapeño. It is!

87. It leaves me wanting something. Oh, what would you want? Another flavor. Those are good. Like the cheese with the jalapeño. I love that straight jalapeño. 70. I already said. ((Laughing)). I don't know what I said, but I said it. - [Stevie] Okay. I said, uh. - [Stevie] No one else. I said 87. I said 87. - [Stevie] All right. ((Laughing)). She was right there, now she's shopping for yachts.

Hold on, am I throwing my voice again? Am I, I've been training to be a ventriloquist and maybe. that's what's happening. She's looking at yachts and trying to get Snyder. - [Stevie] No, everyone shook their head. They looked at me. Nick knew I said it. Everybody's looking for yachts. He was like 87. Come on guys, we gotta get through this. Roll the tape. - [Stevie] Buttermilk Ranch. That's good. This whole line is good. That's good. I love them all. This one's got a little hint of pickle too.

And this ranch works way better than the ranch you. put on the regular pretzels. 87. 86! Ooh. - [Stevie] That concludes the flavored Pretzel Pieces category. You've now tasted every Snyder's flavor and your. scores will now be tabulated. Yes! ((Upbeat Music)). You know, I'm going to say, I'm very. impressed with Snyder's. Very. Before we reveal the finals, I want to say that Sporked. has shared the pretzels they are most impressed with.

Rhett, yours was Nashville Hot. And Link, yours, it was a tie between Honey. Mustard and Onion and Peanut Butter Filled.

Okay. - [Stevie] And, your collective least favorite was. the Unsalted Mini. But here are your top four favorites. Nashville Hot, Peanut Butter Filled, Buttermilk Ranch. Oh, Buttermilk Ranch. - [Stevie] And Honey Mustard and Onion. Okay, wow, so, this is not unexpected, right? We got both of our favorites are in here. Three of them are obviously, like, in this Pieces category. The peanut butter is the outlier, right? - [Link] Let's start with that one. We know how much we love it. It's great on a crafty table.

Can it usurp a savory one? - I guess it. - So good. There's no more filled pieces. What are you gonna fill it with? I don't know, icing? Chicken? Chicken. It's good, it's like a little peanut butter. sandwich experience. My vote is we move. Salty crunchy. From ranch to honey mustard to Nashville. Hot, because the hot is spicy. Yep, yep. And I'm pleased to see that these say big flavor, because. I love it when you're pleased.

This time around I'm really tasting the dill. That's it, it's not pickle, it's dill, you're right. And I love that. It's really tasty. They didn't have to go so hard with the dill. But they made a strong choice. And that makes it a worthy investment. Man, these are so good. You get the oniony part. I feel a little bit lost. - [Link] It doesn't hit as hard as the rest. - [Rhett] It doesn't hit as hard, but it's so unique. But you find yourself wanting to go back. You want more because you're like, I want to.

taste it a little bit more. It's a trick. The old Snyder's pulled a trick on you. I'm gonna go back to this one though. Okay. I like the Honey Mustard a little better. There's just more of a robust experience. It's a broader spectrum. Complex. Complex. Yep. And now we can go to the, you took the biggest one. - [Rhett] Yeah, I did. I'll take this one. Very pickley at first, and then it's hot. And if you don't watch out, that hot will crawl down.

the back of your throat and then not let you speak! Huh! It's still so good. - [Link] It's good. It's good. I don't know if it's as good as I wanted it to be. Coming back to it. As good as I thought it would be. I don't know if it's as good as ranch. - [Link] It packs the biggest punch. The dill on those is so good. But you're right, these are so good. Alright. I think I want to put these up there. Can't make them first place. We can't make them first place because.

I mean, these are the best sweet thing you can get. You can't make it to number one. You can't do that. But, oh man, now what are we gonna do? I think, I know which one I think is number one, but I don't know which one I think is number three. Because, I thought that I was gonna kick ranch. to the curb, but now I'm almost feeling like kicking. Nashville to the curb. I know, it's growing on me. One final chance. You're not gonna be displeased with any of them. Link's pleased today.

((Laughing)). I'm on the fence. about that. I think we got to go with this one. It's just so unique and specific. And that means Honey Mustard and Onion. Hold it. Let's put, let's put, let's put his pants on. Clip it in. And then we're going to put it's, we're going. to put it's tiara on. Cause it's the. Gosh. ((Laughing)). Oh, don't look. Edit this out. Hold it up. Cause it's the Pretzel Princess.

Put it together. There we go. And then here. Ladies and gentlemen, we have crowned the Pretzel Princess. Oh, goodness gracious. That was loud. Honey Mustard and Onion. It's the best flavor you can get, Snyder's. Hold on, they got, hold on. Hold on, y'all got some new ones of these. That's bigger than it was before. Unnecessary. What? Gratuitous. I'm not pleased. I am unpleased.
