Laugh Attack Workout
we have quite the checkered past when it. comes to. [Music]. exercising let's talk about. [Music]. [Applause]. that. good morning this episode is brought to. you by SMU makers of amazing musical. applications for the iPhone and iPad. including the. acarina.
[Music]. there's a recent phenomenon that is. exploding around the country link. possibly the world okay Uber. exercising and there's an article about. people in New York City of all places. that's where they make past pcan sauce. uh and they exercise with a dude named. Uber no it's that's a stupid name person.
yeah it is people who actually it's not. the more I think about it Uber mlin. that's my my next kid um is people who. exercise a lot and there are these. people who exercise two to three times a. day in in you know in the midst of. balancing family and work life we're. talking about people who have families. people who have jobs and they exercise. two to three times a day they go work. out two to three times a day like these. little exercise boutiques where they're. paying crazy high membership fees to go. to these really nice gyms.
they're essentially addicted to exercise. and that got me to thinking about your. past as a exerciser in my past and our. present really yeah we spent a lot of. time to time together so I know about. your exercise habits or lack thereof and. I know of yours so I kind of know where. you're going with this and we also. talked about it before we started. rolling what we were going to talk about. oh really yeah about the fact that we're. not addicted to exercising actually it's. quite the opposite I think we're I I. think I can safely say we addicted to.
not exercising yes I'm I'm really hooked. on that I'm pretty sedentary but let's. you know let's take you guys on a. journey come with us on a journey into. the past up until present time our. experiences with exercise now. um what really I'm thinking about. working out one of my first experiences. with working out was a summer where I. didn't have a summer job I remember we. would we would meet on our bikes in the. middle of in the middle of the town like.
we talked about before but you said hey. there's a bench that you can do. weightlifting like it's you sit down and. you bench press I wasn't even I didn't. even know what that was really yeah well. cuz what this is like sixth grade you're. like it's a bench we're going to go sit. and talk what are you talking about. seventh grade I think was where we were. and it was a bench in the law school. where your dad had his occupation yeah. and Tom laner had one of the other. professors there had basically put a. bench in some weights in a little closet.
in the men's bathroom so you would you. would go up the elevator you go in the. men's restroom which is a pretty nice. restroom because this it it was newly. constructed yeah and I wouldn't say it. was a secret room but it was a room on. the other side of the bathroom it's like. well is that the really private toilet. if you if you really want to have. privacy and the door's locked we had but. we had key key and we would go in there. and and there wasn't a toilet in there. it was just a bench and a bench some. weights and so we would bench and and so. I think about the perspective of a.
person just coming in there to drop a. deuce or just to use the Ural just a guy. a law student coming in there yeah he. goes to use the bathroom and then under. this secret door in the corner of the. bathroom he hears two teenagers. going hold on and that's not actually. the sound we would make because what we. would do is that's the sound we would. make very quickly we realized that the. most hilarious thing on Earth was. watching your friend try to bench press. wait so you know their first of all.
their their head is upside down you know. you're like this and oh I can't do it. I'm almost exercising right now don't. exercise but when you're spotting. somebody you look down and their faces. upside down hey that's funny to look at. your face upside down is funny and then. to see me. go of course the guy in the stall out in. the stall the law student is thinking. somebody is really having a tough time. in there get that man some metam. musil he's going to have hemorrhoids and.
we thought it was so funny that I would. start laughing at you and then you as. your straining would start laughing and. all the air would escape from your lungs. and You' be. like and then I and I couldn't lift it. but you would be freaking out and. laughing so much that you lost all your. strength and so it would be two idiots. sitting there I would have like 135 you. know like a w a wagon wheel on each side. and it would be stuck on me and we would. be having a laugh attack and first of. all it was dangerous I remember we. mastered the technique because we could. not stop laughing in of Boom it would.
hit and then you'd do this and you'd. roll the weight off of this side and. then you'd roll the weight off the other. side which you know that's working out. people well but you know the progression. I guess the way I see it is when you're. in uh high school and then in college. and then a little bit after college and. you're a guy a lot of the times you're. like I got to work out because I got to. get more muscles because muscles are. cool buffness and I got to look buff so. the ladies will like me I got to look.
Cut I don't I don't want to get big I. just want to get cut yeah right you know. I'm not trying to get big I'm just. trying to get cut and so it's all about. the muscles you know and getting the. muscles as big as the muscles can get. and get tight and the ABS and all this. stuff but then as you a you kind of age. out of that let me just tell you I'm 34. I've been married for quite some time. now and at some point probably in your. mid to late 20s is when you start you. kind of lose sight of the muscles. getting to the right proportion if if.
they're not there yet yeah yeah you're. like that's not going to happen in fact. once you hit 30 years old you know that. you lose 10% of your muscle mass every. single year for the rest of your life. not not if you don't that's already. happened to me I'm not admitting to that. just naturally but what happens is you. make this transition into the just why. you're talking just keep going you going. to am I distracting you you going to. flex for us I just kind of wanted to I. still got that look look at the yeah I'm. sure the ladies will be impressed by. that the you know the twins the tween. girls will really like that that um. that's nothing I mean that's no no.
working out no nothing you don't need to. work out I'm being. factious okay I think but what ends up. happening is you make this move from the. building the muscles to and by the way. I'm being sarcastic I don't think that's. how you pronounce muscles so please. don't leave that comment please please. don't do it it's pronounced muscle do. you know that you're pronouncing muscles. wrong it's my it's my fault it's muscles. to see is Silent. People.
your your your your focus shifts to. cardio and you're like I don't want to. die when I'm 48 I want to be living when. I'm 48 so you get on the elliptical. that's what I do I get on the. elliptical and and so you hold on you. you don't you buy an elliptical is what. you did I did buy ellip then for the. next two weeks you get on the elliptical. but all you and you also don't. go I think you did that the first time. you got on you get excited when you get. on there you think about what you look. like what a man looks like when you you. just take the elliptical away just put.
him on a green screen he's making that. motion he looks like a dork he looks. like a you should be embarrassed by the. motion of an elliptical he he looks kind. of like a cross country skier but you're. dork you you've you've get you've gotten. rid of going for the muscles and you. just want to get rid of the fat and you. want to get the heart nice so you can. keep living and you're but I can't even. do that anymore all we do is sit there. at these two computers and look at each. other and come up with things and make. this show make some other videos but you. at least you sit on a medicine ball well.
no it's an exercise ball it's not a. medicine ball oh that's a heavy thing. that you toss back and forth let's start. doing that the medicine ball over the. desk yeah it you know whenever you have. an idea toss the ball only the person. with the medicine ball can get can give. an idea and back and forth lots of ideas. would that get the muscles yeah you so. you sit on an exercise ball that's as. close as you get to exercise that's for. my back using a exercise ball as an. office chair I guess technically I. exercise about 50 60 hours a week to.
come to think of it I'm constantly. exercising now see here's the thing now. there's some people who just they're. addicted to exercise they love it or. they have some sort of a problem they. need to deal with but for me I just I. just can't I can't enjoy exercise for. the sake of exercise I've got to have. some sort of goal now first of all I. relate to people who say I signed up for. a 5k or I signed up for a marathon or a. half marathon and then you have a goal. that you're training for but I just I. can't even get up for that for me it's. got to.
be exercise has to be enjoyable in the. moment you got to be doing something. that you enjoy right like like water. skiing which you do constantly if I. could water ski if I could walk out of. my door and water ski I I'd be I'd be in. shape I think you can't though there's. no Lake and it requires a boat i' be. really good at water. skiing if it was right outside of the. door but are you tracking with me no I'm. not are you catching my vision for I'm. why I'm digging the hole outside of my. no I'm not digging a hole outside I'm. not bu in a water ski park outside of my.
house but I have started mountain biking. again I've told you about this for the. past couple of weeks I've you know I've. taken my mountain bike and gone up into. the the the hills where Hollywood ends. but I think you're also doing that to. get away from me because you haven't. asked me to to go with you well you. don't have a bike I I didn't mean to. offend you but it's it's fun and I I'd. like to think that I'm getting in better. shape but if it's not fun in the moment. I just can't do it I mean share in the. comments how do you exercise.
is it is it an end of itself or is it. for a goal or you know what motivates. you to continue to do it I have these. weights back here you know Red's bought. so many different things he's bought an. elliptical machine he's bought he's. bought these weights did he put you know. they're going to look like you can dial. in the weights though you dial this. thing and the weights are added to it. this is that's an expensive thing to. never use it was a birthday gift and by. the way there are no weights on it right. now this is just a 10 Pounders my mom is.
much like you I never buy any exercise. equipment but my mom she'll buy some. exercise equipment I think she saw this. thing called The Bean you know what. that's getting on QVC the Del and it's. an inflatable thing that you sit on in. order order to do situps what I don't. understand is why do you need to inflate. something in order to do situps you. don't need anything to do sit-ups and. then the grand kids come over my kids go. over to Granny's house they get on this. bean and within 5 minutes it's totally. different inflated and the exercise ball.
that I bought gety I was going to use as. an office chair my kids deflated that. too so. sorry I don't recommend the bean I don't. recommend those and I don't recommend an. eliptical machine feel it right there. muscle is going to just blow up my and. when I flexed earlier like my bicep is. actually still. hurting I feel like I need to flex this. one some all right how are we going to. end this episode speech to Warriors so.
this is kind of like a we're motivating. a group of Warriors the two of us to go. out into. battle soldiers of our. land. listen we usually we usually call them. you take over from here uh you need to. say I'm I'm going to help you you need. to say something. inspirational you need to talk about. death kkin here is going to help with is. my warrior speech tell them that they.
can take our land but you can they can. take our land but they can't take our. freedom but they can't take our freedom. tell them to put some blue paint on. their put some blue paint on your faces. left or right doesn't matter just pick a. side just left or right it doesn't. matter which side you're probably going. to die you I shouldn't tell them going. to going to die you will live or you. will die. valiantly you you bleed the love of. people who need you everyone who lives.
everyone who lives gets ice cre get ice. cream when this is. [Music]. over.
