International Subway Taste Test

What's the most popular Subway sandwich in other countries? Let's talk about that. Good Mythical Morning. We are no stranger to Subway sandwiches around the world. I mean, we did a whole international Subway episode six years ago, and it's still. what I put on to fall asleep every night. Huh? But, we have uncovered a whole new area of Subway intrigue. Mm-hmm. What are the most popular, AKA bestselling, AKA most eaten, AKA most ubiquitously.

ordered Subway sandwiches in every country. It's time for, Where In The World Do These International Most Popular. Subway Sandwiches Come From? Okay, boys. In order to identify the most commonly ordered Subway sandwich per country, we use. the most recent data available from 2018.

Huh. So put your minds in 2018, I guess. Okay. Do it. To guess where each sandwich is from, you'll throw your darts at the map and. Chase the fresh cartographer will measure your darts to determine your points. Oh dang. Look how fresh. He's so fresh, dude. Oh yeah. I'm about get real fresh with you guys. I was told I could be as fresh as I want with you without consequences, so. Who told you this? Uh, Maureen. I don't know if Maureen has that authority. I know that Maureen works here, but it also sounded like he just made up a name.

So Rhett won last time, he'll throw first, and that means Link gets an. advantage, which you can call in during a round of your choosing, and I'll. tell you about it when you pick it. No tomato. We have a. Shrimp. A sesame bun, guacamole. Guacamole and shrimp. Shrimp. Huh. Huh. Huh. Huh? Guacamole and shrimp.

I like the idea. Hmm? I dropped this shrimp. Shrimp came out. I like onions and guac. I like all of this. Hmm. This is not something I would order. I don't mind it, but. But in some countries. I like a hot sub, man. In some country, everybody orders this. Shrimp. This is the most ordered. And guac.

Okay, I guess I'll go first. When I saw shrimp, I thought Indonesia. When I tasted guac, I thought, huh, what? Maybe not. Is that when you said, huh? Huh. Huh. So, this, I have to put myself in two different places. A, 2018, easy to do that 'cause I was there. B. Second thing. Falkland Islands. A Subway. Yeah. Well it smells like Subway so bad in here, so that should be easy to do.

We're there. Actually three different places and then in a country. So when you're at a Subway, you've got the available ingredients, and. they might not necessarily represent the cuisine of said location. Right. They present how the Subway matrix maps onto the flavor matrix of that. particular location, and so they're like, we like shrimp, we like guacamole. Guacamole obviously comes from Mexican food, but it's spread. I think he's gotten all the way to Japan, shrimp and guac.

Japan. Hmm. Well, okay. Japan could be anything. Oh, I hit it. And that is a. I hit it. I actually hit the country of Japan. That is a, that's a country bullseye, but not a bullseye, bullseye. But, but it doesn't matter if it's Japan. So fresh and so clean. Dude. I don't know if it's Japan. I mean, I just, it was a guess, but. I hope it's not, I don't think it is. Okay.

Yeah, I don't know. But I don't know what it is, but boy, your throw. Whoa. So accurate. I think it's the reinforced, uh, sleeves. I gotta go. On these hoodies. I gotta go somewhere else. Where are you gonna go? Uh, it's definitely a place that is seafood first. Then eat food. And then I think because I think. That was was fresh. I think it's seafood, and then they're, they're bringing the guacamole over to it.

Right. So I'm, I'm in agreement with your logic. But also think about the way that this is a spread out map. Like that's not actually what the world looks like. No, I'm not gonna think about that. The world is a globe. So Japan is actually closer to Mexico in some ways, right? You recently went. Yeah. I'm thinking Indonesia though, for the same reasons. Okay. Alright, well let's see what you got because I can't go for Japan. You've nailed it.

Oh yeah, I got close too. Oh, I thought you had. But not as close as you. You just had the shrimp avocado sandwich featuring a sesame seed bread bun. stuffed with shrimp, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green peppers. The sandwich is beloved by the people of Japan. Man, you nailed it. Yes. Oh, what a, what a day. You have bullseye'd.

What, what a fresh day for me. I'm gonna start calling you Jared. Please don't. Okay. Okay. That's a mantle I don't want to carry. Alright. Rhett, you had zero. For the history books. Oh my goodness. For the history books, sure. And Link. Hey, he's getting fresh with you. You had 15. 15. Still not bad. Wow. What do we have here.

That looks like some kind of. It's a sandwich. I was hoping you'd be fresh, like, like flirty fresh. Oh. Well maybe he's playing hard to get, you don't know. This is. It's, it's a beef. Flirty. Some sort of a, is that a gyro? Hmm. Or, mm-hmm. Mm hmm. Wow. That's better than anything I've ever had at Subway.

Do you not agree? No, I mean, I don't think it's that great. If this is what I think it is, I've had a lot better than this version. Well, I didn't say that's not true. We can both be right. Um, I just like that gyro meat and that tzatziki sauce. I'm losing, you go first. Okay. How could this not be Turkiye?

Well, it could be the UAE. Mm-hmm. And if you're so accurate today, you don't need to hedge your bets. Well, I don't know. Maybe I got lucky. I'm gonna try again. Maybe I just go for Turkiye because it's bigger and it gives me a. chance to continue my streak. Let me look at this while you're doing that. Oh, okay. Okay. Did I hit it? You did. Oh no. Did I hit it? You did. I hit it. Chase. What is happening? Chase? Did he hit it? Chase did I hit it?

He hit it. Oh dang. Dang, that was fresh. Dude. What is going on? Don't, you're so accurate. I haven't been practicing. I haven't been practicing. Haven't been practicing. So accurate. I don't know. It's this, it's the hoodie, which we will promote at some point. This is just a. Uh. It's that elbow right there. It's not gyro meat, it's. What is it then? It's just a complete piece of steak, but it's tzatziki sauce.

And then all the other things that you might think you would get. That tzatziki can't be anything but Turkiye or UAE. So now he's pushed me to UAE. I'm sorry. I mean. I'm sorry. Hey, my guy here is so accurate today. What is. What if I get zero? That is wild. What if my score is zero? I mean. I'll quit. It could happen. Don't quit.

I'll quit. I'll quit. Don't quit. I'll quit. Alright. Just for the day. We'll go see a matinee. Oh, I get to quit too? Yeah. Oh, cool. I'll celebrate. We'll go see a matinee. Alright, I'm pulling for it. We used to do that every once in a while. Alright. UAE. Nobody at the matinee. So small. Oh, by the way. That's the best. These are good throws. This is the best I've ever thrown. No, you've. And no one, no one. You bullseye'd it before. I have, but. You just had the. You did today.

Greek lamb with tzatziki sandwich. Lamb. This sub contains the titular Greek lamb, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, and is topped with zesty tzatziki sauce. It's a top seller in. New Zealand. Whoa. Cause all of the lamb. They have so many lambs, you've been there. Should have figured that out. That it was lamb. Oh. I pulled it out and it, it, it didn't have that lamby taste.

No matinee for us. Can't go to the Laemmle. Hey, hey. Link, you had 38. Rhett, you had zero if it was Turkiye, but instead you got a clean 50. Oh, wow. Okay. It's almost evened up. Yeah, did I just take the lead? I think not. I did. Not. Not. You, you almost did. If you wanna throw darts like me, uh, you should get one of these hoodies.

It apparently helps with that. Also, it reminds you to be nicer to people. This is one of the things that we believe in here at Mythical. Yeah. We put that message out into the world and we do it in a stylish way. with these two color block hoodies. We got purple, we got green. Now I wanna be clear, this isn't really reinforced. It's just a, it's just a different color on the elbow. Yeah. We don't wanna false advertise here. Grape and sage is what we call these two colors. Super soft and thick, and, I endorse the feel of this.

Yes. I'm not wearing an undershirt. And it helps, it makes your shoulders look good. I'm not trying to get fresh. See what it does to your shoulders? It makes you look good. You need a hoodie that makes your shoulders look good. Oh, yeah, powerful shoulders, powerful bicep and elbow areas. Yes. Yeah. Mythical.com. Subway is so ubiquitous around the world. We got a. That smells good. We got a, a chicken with some sort of, um.

Hmm. Uh, rub on it. Oh man. Speaking of rub on it, I talked to Maureen. She said I could get fresh the other way too. Oh, okay. Well we're expecting to see that. Hmm. Okay, you're still going first 'cause I'm losing. I'm learning some things. That is good chicken. It's distinctively spiced chicken. I think that's a curry. Hmm. Hmm. But it's like.

Get some of that cheese on it. A type of, a type of curry. I eat all the meat and sometimes cheese. Is there a curry that's not a type of curry? Yep. That's not what I meant to say. That's what we're all asking. You know, like it is not a soupy curry. It's like when you just take the curry seasoning and put it on dry. I think sometimes you talk too much. Which is what you would do, it's what you would do in a Subway situation. Okay. More of a rub. It's more of a rub.

And they love this flavor in the UK because of the influence of Indian food. Hoo. And so I think that they, it may have gotten up there. Can I get there? No, you've lost it. You've lost your mojo. I think you're wrong. I just can't see, even though you're right about the logic, I just can't. see that this is the most popular sandwich in the United Kingdom. There's only one way to find out. When Chase tells us. I mean, could it also be Ethiopia?

Uh, is it it might not be a curry. It might not be a curry. It might be misinterpreting. It's just occurring to me that it might not be a curry. Yeah, it might be more of like, um, oh crap. You know what it might be? Uh, what's that? Uh, chicken huli huli. Peri peri. Peri peri. Peri peri.

This might be peri peri, and then that would be Argentina. This is when I surge into the lead because I, I'm feeling it. Okay. Thank you for that energy. Get it right. And it might be Falkland Islands. It might be. Argentina, here we go. Almost, uh, hit it. Oh, my knee hit too. Careful, careful, careful. You just had the chicken tika sandwich.

Tender chicken breasts are coated in a tika spice served with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, all in a freshly baked choice of bread. The sandwich is the number one choice for the people of the United Kingdom. All the stuff that y'all could eat up there. Yeah. You're definitely not gonna order a sandwich that represents your own cuisine. Right? I mean, and listen, as much as we talk crap about British food, every time. this happens, it's just confirmed. How come you don't have like Sunday roast on a, on a piece of bread?

Huh? If it's so good, why is it not the number one sub in Subway? It's not. Right. Sorry. Is it my turn? But peri peri chicken. Y'all, y'all probably like that too. Link, you had 33. That's quite a few. Rhett, 12. Okay boys, this is the mystery round. The country is not labeled on the map and, Link, you do have your advantage this round.

It is the sandwich dartist. Uh, so you get to dip your bread. Wow. Paint brush in the mustard and smack it. Look, that's a. Look at that mustard. Is a thick mustard. First of all, who's painting with that? A seven inch brush. You think your dad ever uses that kind of brush? No. He's, he's a roller guy. No, he's a brush guy, but he's. But if you go and he's going that big, he's going roller. Yeah. Why would it, I don't know why you'd use a brush.

I think this is pre-roller technology. I'd have to ask him. I would also like to say that peri peri chicken, I was wrong about that. It's um. It's Southern Africa is where Peri peri chicken comes from, but it's used. at Nando's, which is all over the UK. So I was doubly wrong except Huli Huli Chicken. Yep. Which is what I was really thinking about. Is from Argentina. It's from Argentina. That's also not true. Okay.

Looks like we've got a crab sub. A crab salad sub. Yeah, that feels good. Is that boar hair or horse hair? It's boar. I could. I could have told you, and now I'm telling you, it's a huli holi boar. Okay, this looks f, this looks fresh. Hmm? You got a little crab on your lap? Hmm.

Crabs up, huh? Oof. Is it though? Yeah, it is. Hmm. The, it's the most popular. We keep going back to that. A cold crab salad. Not on the board. A sub. Well, on the board, but not labeled. Hmm. That tastes good. So lemme just say, you are only down by 24. Yeah. And that's not that much, when you're here. I have a chance.

Um, Chase, show us what 24 centimeters looks like. Do have a chance. For the people at home? See that? He's well trained, look at that. He can just pop out 24 centimeters. Look at that. He did it. It's two foot. Well, no it's not. If it were inches, it would be. If it were inches, it would be two foot. Huli huli chicken. I think they're gonna like this, I somewhere in Asia. I think this is like Thailand, which if I'm right about it being over.

there, then I can kind of block you out, which I will try to do. You've hit Indonesia. You started so strong with your aim. Yep. And now. Can't last forever. It's when my advantage pulls me into the lead. Alright. What are you aiming for? I have no clue, dude. My main concern is how to distribute as much of this as possible. Yeah, this could get ugly. Don't get any on your sweatshirt.

Because I we're gonna ship this one to, to someone who orders it. Uhhuh. Uhhuh. So if I pick this up, okay. And I start and I do this and I really wanna, I mean, I'm just trying to get. the whole board, you know, it's like, because the whole board don't mix. This is a big brush. Okay. Uh. Maybe it's America, north or south.

How many times you had this in America? I think this is a European country, and I'm gonna try to, I'm gonna. try to yellow this whole puppy. All right, here we go. Oh, oh yes. And wow, look, you took all, almost all of Africa. I also got like a lot of stuff down here.

I got it on the keyboard, but I didn't get any right there. I mean, I could have gone up and then I'd have it all over the ceiling. Well, if it's Europe, I think you win. If it's South America, you win. And that was my guess. You just had the shrimp and crab salad sandwich. Shrimp crab. Also known as skagenröra. The shrimp and crab salad is tossed with mayo, lemon, herbs, and spices, and is. served with a choice of veggies and it's simply adored by the people of Sweden.

Oh. Think you've done it, link. It'll be scandalous navian. If I win. That's something Chase would say. That's why he liked it. All right, Rhett, you had 37. Ooh. And Link, there is a tiny little glob up here of mustard right there. Yes sir. In Sweden. You got zero. Zero but with a cheat so I'm not gonna celebrate too much.

He got two zeros. You pull off the win. I'm still beating him. Uh, it must hurt. It hurts so bad. It's gonna hurt worse in Good Mythical More because you have to become. a loser sandwich, you big loser. Okay. Thanks for commenting and sharing this video. You know what time is. Hi I'm Nicole.
