International Shake Shack Taste Test

Today we're trying Shake Shack from around the world. Let's talk about that. ((Intro Music)). Good Mythical Morning! You probably know by now, we're Shake Shack boys. We've been known to dabble in the way of the Shack. It's a good burger, and what better celebration. of that than to taste their different offerings. from around the world. Yes, Shake Shack is around the world.

Yes it is, Link. - I can think. - I'm throwing darts. I can think of no better way if that was. what you were asking. I was asking that. It's time for Where in the World Do. These International Shake Shack Dishes Come From? ((Music)). - [Stevie] Okay. Shack snackers. You're gonna be tasting an international Shake Shack. dish and throwing your darts at the map to guess where you. think it came from and Chase, The Shake It Cartographer is going to measure how close. you are to the correct answer. - [Rhett] He's really shaking it.

I saw you wearing stuff and I was like, I'll find out later. And now what I'm finding out is that you're just shaking. Yeah. Like. Those are your shaking pants. Those, like, Saved by the Bell pants are, tell. me how that's shaking. While continue to shake, of course. Cause I'm shaking, you know? - [Rhett] Yeah, yeah. You don't have to tell me. I'm just watching. Baby, Shake Shack. It's like that song. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - [Chase] Something to jazz up your day. You ever heard that? You ever heard that song? Give you something to rave about. - [Stevie] Okay, the loser today, who is not Chase, clearly.

I'm the winner. - [Stevie] Will get a big ol' whiff of a Shake Shart. Come on, guys. - [Stevie] So, you don't want to lose today, and Link, you've lost. The last five times. It's alright, man. - [Stevie] So, you'll have an advantage dart to use in the round. of your choosing, as well as a disadvantage. for Rhett that you can deploy whenever you want. Good lord. What? Okay. Advantage and disadvantage? Okay. That's what we do now, yeah. We're trying to get me to win something.

Well, it seems that we have a shake of shorts in. here, and look at that. There's like, what is that? I gotta suck that up with my straw and see. I can't even tell you, man. I don't know what I just had. It's kind of good, though. - [Link] It's angular boba. It's boba trapezoidal, you might even say. I'm trying to get one into my hand. Oh, it's cubed.

I got one into my hand. Look at that. See? What I said. It's angular, gelatinous. It's very tasty. Tasty. Okay, could of died. Could of died. Then you'd feel bad about taunting me. I haven't taunted you. For losing 5 times in a row. But I am going first. I don't need to win often, I just need to, when I. win, I win big, you know? Right, exactly, that's what you're trying to do.

What is his, What is the disadvantage. that he can employ? - [Stevie] Link, would you like me to share that with you. and Rhett right now? It's your choice. I'm gonna give him a shake shart, right? No. That's if I lose. I don't want your sharts, man. - [Stevie] The disadvantage you can use is the put your head. on my shoulder, which is just basically, you just. put your head on Rhett's shoulder while he's throwing. Okay. Yeah, that won't be distracting. Alright.

So, you can do that now. I'm not gonna do it yet. Boba, you know, this comes from the. eastern part of our map. It has made it here, but you know the thing that. hasn't made it here is the angular boba that. you just talked about. Never seen that. That is fun. So, Chase, are you gonna shake the whole time? - [Chase] Oh yeah, but I'm gonna come over here and shake. I'm getting into it, sorry. So I think that Thailand is the country of origin for. this type of thing, right?

I think it could be several of those countries over there, but I'm going for Thailand. Thailand. - [Rhett] Oh! A little bit low, a little bit low. Well, Thailand is a good choice. I am feeling the "peens". Oh man, you're just all over it. I mean, you could definitely get closer. to Thailand than that. Yeah, I'm gonna do that. For the record, I don't think it's boba.

I think it's something different. In Thailand! Oh gosh. I wonder, I wonder why that happened. Yeah. That was interesting. - [Stevie] You just had a sticky rice shake. Vanilla ice cream blended with palm sugar and rice. milk on top of pandan jelly. Both mango sticky rice and pandan jelly are popular. desserts in this shake's country of origin, Thailand.

You're right, it wasn't boba, it was, what'd you call it? Pandan jelly. - [Stevie] They're jellies. It's very nice. Rhett, you had 8, and Link, 17. Oh, God. ((Music)). Now, we're talking. - Can I? - Burger! Cut our burger? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh. Oh, it's toasty bun. Now I wouldn't do that at an actual Shake Shack. You know, I wouldn't be doing that. You know, it's like when you get like a Smashburger, you. don't want to cut it in half. You wanna start on the sides. because that's the best part.

Now this one's got. There's a lot going on here, Link. Oh, it's so juicy. - [Link] Oh my goodness. So. That's a pickle? It looks like relish, but there's seeds. Like, I wonder. It's a salsa. Is it hot? - [Rhett] Oh, that's spicy. Oh, goodness. Oh, I like that. Man! You got to warn a man. I got a little nervous with those seeds I saw.

I can't even taste the burger, it's so hot. It's hot. I'm gonna go. Oh, good gracious. I'm ready for a second bite. I like that. Oh, that feels good. Alright, you're winning. You gotta go first. And I gotta get more accurate with my throws. Did they decide to do this in Chile? Did they put Chile on the map because they thought that. maybe we would be drawn to it because of this taste?

Because of this. spicy. And also, is this something they just did at the, in the. U.S. of A, like a special edition of a fiery thing? They all take all kinds of chances. Could be, cause. In this quadrant of Japan, South Korea, Philippines, et cetera. Link, I'm taking a big, big chance, oh, this is not, this is not smart because there's literally five. countries over there. It would not be smart at all to go to the United States.

But I don't taste any other flavors in that. I'm not going to overthink it, I'm going U.S. U.S. And I'm not going to slow you down. Because I like you going over there. It could happen, but I was trying to look at the. type of pepper it was. Like a South American type pepper, you know? What makes you say that? Cause it's, it's just green and seedy and it's not, it. doesn't taste, it doesn't taste, it tastes like.

something that can make its way up into like Mexican food. So, that's why I'm thinking Chile. It's just not the type of spice that I associate. with, Asian cuisine. Well, the door is open, Link. I know the door is open, but it's the wrong door. What door is it? It's the Chile door. But do I, I need to hedge my bets a little bit, in terms of my location.

Okay. So, let's see, instead of going north from Chile, I'm gonna go to the right. And I went, see, why? Spain is my answer now. Okay, let's see. It might be Spain. Oh, gosh. - [Stevie] You just had Benny's Nacho Burger, a cheeseburger. topped with queso, Shack Ranch sauce, crumbled Cool. Ranch Doritos, scallions, and charred serrano salsa verde. Serrano.

- [Stevie] This burger was offered as a one day collaboration with. musical artist Benny Blanco, served throughout Shake. Shack stores in Los Angeles. Los Angeles is in what country? - [Stevie] The U.S. of A. Hey, you were actually surprisingly close, Link. I was right about the serrano thing, and kinda. It's so good. Rhett, you had 10. Link, 21. Alright. I got lucky, actually. ((Music)).

Hey, y'all. We have created a daily game as a companion to. Good Mythical Morning that gives you the opportunity to make. predictions and answer trivia related to that day's episode. It's a freaking app game companion to this show? Freaking. That is such a fun idea, Rhett. Oh. And I bet it has a really fun name, too. It does. I bet it's called Think It and Sink It. It is called that. I'm so excited about this. I want you to experience it.

And it's completely free on the Mythical Society app. It's also free on iPhone and Android. Yeah, no matter which phone you got. There are special prizes at the end of the season, so you gotta, you know, keep that score up. You gotta play every day, keep that score up. So why don't you just pause the video right now. We don't have to pause. And go and download the Mythical Society. app and then play it. Yeah! Trivia related to the episode. Predictions about what's gonna happen.

It's gonna be great. Okay, this is, a dessert, some sort of. - [Rhett] There are so many things going on. They have custard. So this thing here. We got little white balls, we got. purple cake, we got ice cream. We have like a slab of jiggly custard. Let me try that first. That's a bit, that's a bit much. This? - [Link] Yeah. Why is that you shaking?

I don't. - [Chase] I think step aerobics is like a dance thing that you do. Let the man shake! - [Chase] I'm not that good at it yet, so. When you're really good at it, it's like you're shaking. Hey, when a man's shaking it, just let him shake it. The, the gelatinous cube is good, I just don't. know exactly what that is. The consistency of this is nuts! And then, purple, purple hard stuff. There's some gummy stuff.

You slowing down over there yet? ((Laughing)). There's like little clear caviar looking eggs. Let me try those. They're not caviar. They do look like caviar though. I tasted them. Okay. Alright. It's all over the place. Shaking, man, I'm still up. You're still up. Link, you have a. I think you need a disadvantage. Okay. So I am going to gently rest my head upon your shoulder. Okay. Let me see how that feels.

I don't want you to know how it feels. Where are you going? I am going to South Korea. - [Link] Okay. I was recently in, I was recently in Koreatown, Link. Can you hear me? Yes. You need to get closer? I was recently in Koreatown and I had some, is it ube ice cream? Purple. I see the purple. I think Korea. Okay. Alright. Let me see how this is gonna work.

Oh, you gonna hit me? Don't hit me in the face, now. This is not gonna be easy because. ((Laughing)). I tried my hardest. Did I, did I alter you any? Yeah, quite a bit. Because I wasn't going for Singapore. - [Link] You went a little low. - [Rhett] Went a little bit low. Okay. Maybe if you put your head on my shoulder, I'll do better. Like my aim has been so bad today. Oh, it hurt my chin a little bit actually.

Well, at least you got one to hurt. You said it, man. That's right. I mean, it's gotta be Korea. - [Rhett] You said it, man. - [Link] It's gotta be. Should I blow both of my helps on this? Should I go advantage? You could. I don't know what it is. I get to shart on the board, I think. No, I'm going for South Korea. I don't think that leaves a residue. All right. I'm not gonna use it yet. I do think this is Korea. Could be Japan.

I hope it's not Singapore. Here we go. Oh, well, I hit the writing. Okay, I'm getting better. - [Stevie] You just had an Ube Baby Concrete. You did it. - [Stevie] It's like Ube Baby or Ube-y Baby. Ube Baby. - [Stevie] Both those words are in it. Concrete, of course, being Shake Shack's name for. a custard with mix ins. It's their vanilla frozen custard with ube, coconut, marshmallows, ube cookie, toasted coconut,

sago pearls and crispy penny pig topped with leche flan. Ube is an incredibly common ingredient in this. concrete's cuisine of origin, which is the Philippines. Oh! Shooky! Dang, I got. You're closer to Philippines! I got luckier than I wanted to. Rhett, you had 6. Link, 11. It sounded like he said, Rhett, you had sex. ((Laughing)). - [Chase] I'm assuming. You also had 6.

I have had sex, yes I have. ((Music)). - [Stevie] Okay, this is the final round, and Link, just to let you. know, your advantage dart is called the shake it up dart. Okay. - [Stevie] And, you know, that little shake next to you, you. basically get to launch the entire thing at the board. Okay, great. - [Stevie] But, it's a mystery round. I'm 25 centimeters down. Boy, it's a chicken sandwich, Link. And what is, it looks like it could be spicy.

It's got cucumbers and then on the bottom, some sort. of, I guess, lettuce and mayo. I can't tell you what it is, but I can tell you. that it is dang good. It's a bit greasy. Yeah, that oil is sending me to a certain part of the world. I think. Okay, well.

Ooh, that's spicy. I'm up. Oily. Cucumber-y. You want my head on your shoulder just. to help you again? No, I prefer it if you didn't do that. Here's the thing, man. I know I've only got 24, but, you've only got 49. And it's any man's game, I think, in some ways. I'm about to just spew a shake all over that board. Right, you're gonna get close to the answer. Well, I'll just talk out loud at this point.

Yeah, speak freely. I don't know what spice that is, but it tastes. like curry to me. It tastes like something that I would have. had in Indian food. Do they have Shake Shack in India? Why not? I don't know, I mean, Shake Shack feels like it's pretty. new, and I don't know how many places it's gotten to. - [Link] Ooh, that's spicy. It's a spice. Well, I'm gonna go with my instinct. You think it's India?

I'm saying India. - [Rhett] Well. In spite of yourself, I still think you did the right thing. I think this is, this is more east Asian. than Indian cuisine. Even though there's so many that are already. taken, I feel like this could be like an Indonesia. Or something. Crap. I don't know how you don't just eat it. It's just so good. I'm gonna try to get some spread on it.

Now there's no rule in how I throw it. Right? Cause I'm gonna, I'm gonna put it all in my hand. Whoop. Okay. And throw it. And then. No rules, man. Right. Ooh, it's cold cause I don't wanna hold. it in there too long. And then I'm gonna. Smush it around. Smush it around. And, yeah, if you're standing here, don't. I just gotta hope, oh crap, I don't, I mean.

- [Rhett] If it's over, if it's in the eastern part of the map, it's. gonna be hard for you to win. I know, but it's, but just the oil, the oil in this thing, there's no, I just don't understand how it can be that. Okay, I'm gonna go all of the right side of the map. There we go. And a lot of the left and then the filing cabinet. You got Greenland. I think I did good. I mean, like, Chase, that's all the way over there.

- [Rhett] If it's Greenland, you win. This is the best coverage I've ever got. And then like a little bit down here. - [Rhett] It might be Greenland. - [Link] Sorry about that. Sorry about this. And sorry about all of this. - [Chase] You ruined my dance floor. - [Link] Sorry about this. And a little bit on the chair here. Crap. Don't worry, we'll power wash it all. All right. - [Stevie] You just had Chili Crisp Chicken, which was part. of a Shake Shack collab with Fly By Jing, a L.A. based pantry brand.

It's got crispy chicken breast glazed with Fly By Jing's. spicy Sichuan chili crisp, topped with pickles, lettuce, and spring onion mayo, all between a toasted potato bun. The dish pays homage to the founder's hometown in China. But it was released to celebrate the launch of. Fly By Jing in The U.K. Oh! Chili oil. That's what I was trying to say. Really close, Link.

Crap. For my last dance, I give you, swing. Shaking it. - [Rhett] He's tired now. - [Chase] Yeah. Yeah, in more ways than one. Alright, Rhett. 32. - [Rhett] Oh, dang it. Link, 5. Did I, I think I did it. I think you pulled it off. Did I do it? Yes. - [Stevie] You did. Yes. You did. I did it. I did it.

((Applause)). It wasn't pretty. It wasn't pretty. It was actually rather messy and in spite of myself. But I just want to thank all the advantages. and disadvantages. Yeah. Couldn't have done it without you. It feels good to break a losing streak in any way. And I gotta smell a? - [Stevie] Shake shart. Yes you do. - [Stevie] In Good Mythical More.
