International Meatballs Taste Test

We're trying meatballs from around the world. Let's talk about that. Good Mythical Morning. Pop quiz, what's the best shape for meat to be in? Ball. That's right. And where's the best place to find them? A round the globe, which is technically a ball! Yeah! It's time for Where in the world do these international.

meatball dishes come from? Okay boys, you're about to try meatballs from around the. world and throw your darts at where you think they come. from, but per Rhett's request last time we played this game, today you'll both be throwing with french fries as darts. - Of course, Chase... - Pretty great idea. The having-a-ball cartographer will be measuring dart distances. I got a bunch. I'm having many balls, more than you can count.

I'm not gonna count. Do you wanna have a ball? Sure. Sorry, I'm still the one having a ball. I think you got about 22 balls. And whoever loses today. with the highest score will become a human basketball. basket for the winner. Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! I've done that before. Are we gonna be able to do that? These are some big meatballs from somewhere on the world. Oh, look at that. Cut it right in half.

You want half of that? You would be so surprised. Maybe you wouldn't be. At what happens... So, we have a lot of crew in here as we shoot, but then there's. a lot of people that work at Mythical, and they're. right outside the door. And, uh, I don't know what they're doing, actually, but I know they're waiting for this food. And it's like one of those zombie movies when. you just throw, like... Sometimes, Chase will stick. his hand out the door. He'll come back missing a fingernail.

I've had my pinky reattached three times. Oh, wow. But I'm still having a ball. Yeah, you are. Yeah. Throw me another ball. Oh, man. Those were good. They were too good. Too good for us. We don't deserve it. Hey, you won last time. You go first. I'm a little jealous now that you're a fry boy, cause... Is it even international darts anymore? You're discovering my secret. Well, might I also remind you that we still have.

our updated map technology. So, there's an intricate system of highly sensitive. sensors that feel exactly where the darts go. And, you know, we don't have darts, uh, just fries. So, it'll probably, it'll probably be a, It's a very. relieved map, you know. Yeah, and my task at hand is to figure out where. these Asian inspired meatballs are coming from. That big green thing, like this, this thing, I can't.

remember what that's called right now, but... Wait until it's my turn and I'll tell you. Yeah, um, that's, um, maybe that's a bok choy. That's right, you're right. Um, it actually came to me, as I was saying. So you knew. No. See, I think that's what people say about you, is. that you do know things, but you're acting like. you don't know things. I didn't. But then you held it up and you knew that it was bok choy. It came to me right before I said it. And it's baby bok choy, to be specific. Cause I thought it, I thought it was gonna be onion. But then I remembered. It's a superfood. Bok choy. It's a superfood, I hear.

You know what, I think this is, I think this is Indonesia. I don't think it's China. So, here I am, I'm gonna go for Indonesia, cause. I'm not being shy about it. Oh! Yeah. My thought's exact. Man, up there in northern Northern Russia really. Really felt that. It just... I think it was the bok choy. I'm second guess... I've never thrown a fry, I don't think.

I was so good last time with the fry. But you were so good, that's why I felt like you... But now you've committed. Now you gotta use the fry. Well, I definitely think it is China, which you actually. got closer to China than anything else, because Any. time I'm looking up Chinese recipes, bok choy is so. common in these recipes. Now that could be Cambodia, it could be Indonesia, but I see it when I'm cooking Chinese food. So do you go with a, how? I bite the tip off. To make it what? The length that you want? Mushy.

What if I get one that's already, there are. none of them are mushy. But make it mushy, Rhett. There you go. All right, I wouldn't have eaten that much of. the fry, but go ahead. And I would dip it in, uh, ketchup. That's too much ketchup. I actually don't do that. That's cheating. Okay. So much comedy comes from these fries. It's a really good bit. I really love the fries. No one would complain about it. Just bite the tip off and then put a little.

bit of fry on the end. - I mean, a little bit of... - Fry what? Ketchup. That's good. That's fine. Nope! Not twice. Go. Throw. So you're going for China, too. Be careful, they tend to fly. Oh! - So, I see it's really easy to throw the... - They got the map reaction, we got the Chase reaction. fry where you want it to be. As in, like, right on the bullseye. Okay.

Okay. Okay. Okay. I get what's been going on. Okay. Okay. You got lucky. You just had Shi-Zi Tou, aka Lion's Head Meatballs, a. dish named for their size? There are two versions of the dish, but today you had the. version that was red cooked, aka braised in soy sauce. It's a classic dish, and it's country of. origin, which is China. Ah, and you've hit China. You might have gotten a bullseye. It might be my first ever bullseye, but you know.

I've never thrown a fry. All right, link. You had a 16. Rhett, bullseye. - That's a zero. - Fries eye. I'll clap for myself. Have you got the fries eye? - Ooh, we got a big bowl of some... - It's a soup! Oh, and that's not, uh that's not beef. And there's some whiteness. There's some... Is there some sour cream or something?

There's carrots in there. Wow. This is when you gotta put your fork down. and grab your spoon. Is it sour cream or is it yogurt? It's very good. I don't know. Why is it so good? Tell me to stop. Don't stop. You deserve it. You got a bullseye in the last round. So I'm up again. Yes, you are. That's good. When I saw the cilantro, when I saw the color, I was.

like, oh, this is Colombia. Argentina, maybe. But it's not spicy. And then there's carrots and celery. And that does feel more like a yogurt. So then I'm... I don't think it is a yogurt. I think it's sour cream. There's too much going on for a Romanian dish. Cause in Romania they have like, would that be a goulash? Yeah, you're right. You're right. That would be a goulash. It would be a goulash? Judges? Um, so I'm gonna go with Columbia.

You did really well with that fry, but was that a fluke? Let's find out. Nice little, that's, that's plenty. What you going for? Columbia. That was a little high. I can't help but make a noise along with the map. It projected. I do it every single time. You do. That was off the walls. It's okay though. I'm sorry, map, for stealing your thunder.

Because I love the sounds that you make, I think. Even though, honestly, I don't like the sound you make. I was looking at the user manual for the map earlier, and. when you press the N on the north, it makes the last. sound that it made again. Just so we can hear it, yeah. I'll try it. Ooh. It's a little delayed and not quite the same sound. It was almost the same sound. Rhett, Rhett, Rhett, poor Rhett. Going over there. To the west of Columbia. I've opened up the window, they say.

This is Romania. Because it's... There's almost a little Greek meatball. thing happening here. I agree. I'm seeing some rice in the meatball. I agree. But I think Middle East. I know Romania's close to the Middle East, but... It's as close as you can get. Ah, yeah. If Turkey was up there, I'd be on it. Here we go. Let me get my aim down better. Uh. Hold on. What happened? There's no ketchup up there. Where did the ketchup go?

Here. Oh. All of that? Do you want to hear that sound again? Yeah. No. No. I heard it. Don't want to hear it again. You're in India, friend. I don't know what happened. You just had Chirba de Pedishware. A sour soup full of tart lemon erbity erbity... Herbity herbity meatballs and a rich tomato broth topped with sour cream,

and it hails from Romania. Oh, dang. If only my aim wasn't worth a crap. But I'm so far off though. I mean, I just, you just really opened. up the game again. Mm hmm. All right. Link, you got another 16. Wow. Wow, indeed. And Rhett, you got 42. Ooh! Ha ha. Ooh, ooh, ooh. Yeah.

I'm back in this. Hey, today is the last day to get 30 percent off of. everything at mythical.com. Yes, everything's on sale. Go for it. Including this new super soft Mythical Sherpa pullover. How's it feel? It is the softest thing that I've ever worn. I mean, I've worn a lot of Sherpas, but this. one is the softest on the inside and the out. Well, if you get it today at mythical.com. You can get 30 percent off. You better suck that thing off the internet.

Uh, while the, while the getting's good. Yup. Yeah. I would recommend ordering a size up. Huh. I'm wearing, I'm six foot and I'm wearing an extra large. Yep. Alright, this is beautiful. These are balls. They seem to be fried. And I bet you there's meat in there. Oh, you got the different dip. Uh huh. Now look at that. That is a pasty white meat.

Is that a chicken? It smells like chicken, but it feels like a pancake. Very mushy, very bready in there. Link, you've retaken the lead in one fell swoop. Smells like chicken, feels like a pancake. Or is it one fell swoop? Well, I'm about to give you a foul swoop. Did the foul fall, fell, or fail when it swooped? I'm just trying to think what this is. I'm not listening to you at all. Huh.

So who is doing this? I think it's, I don't know if it's a way to stretch. the meat out or just to make it more mushy. I mean, could this be in Guinea? And how far is Guinea from New Guinea? Not close. Not close at all? Not close. I don't know where this is from, but I feel like... - The closest thing... - It's bland. It could be... The closest new to the old version. Canada could go bland. I believe it's New Mexico and Mexico.

Name a closer new to the old than New Mexico and Mexico. I'll give you a second. Uh, Hampshire? Nope. It's probably in England. No, it's probably in England. I'm not close. Along with York. You know what? And probably Jersey. I'm feeling like it might be Canada, but I don't. know, it's so specific. New Canada. Is this a Colombian ball? When are they gonna come up with that? Oh, I totally forgot about this sauce. that I didn't taste. Yeah, I was hoping you wouldn't taste it. This sweet and sour sauce. Yeah, why did you have to see that?

What on Earth was I thinking? I was trying to get you to think about New Canada. And you know what this is? This is a fish chicken ball. It has the consistency of a fish ball, but. it's chicken instead. And this right here is from Cambodia. Seems like you're disappointed. Well, because that's what I wanted to say. Okay, let me get my aim right. Oh, yeah. Uh, yeah, Link.

Okay, hold on, hold on. I haven't been uncomfortable until now. That was strangely personal. Yeah, it seemed like it was directed at one of us. Like, I didn't know that the map technology allowed. it to speak English. Is it becoming Sentient? Uh, can I have darts? And hornier. Can I have darts, please? Oh, you're going back. I don't want to please the map. But hold on, but hold on. I don't want to please the map. But the, but the, but everybody loves the fries.

I know how much you love the fries. Everybody's talking about how much they love the fries. I know you never want the fries to go away and you want. the fries to be the thing that we do from now on and. that you love it when we keep doing something over and over. again and over and over again. I know that's what you want. But you don't always get what you want. Speaking of which, can you hit the N? Yeah, I can hit the N. Yeah, I wanna hear what that map said again. Okay, ready? Here I go. Just to remind myself why I'm going with dart. Link.

I'm going with darts, too. I actually don't like that I was a part of that. Okay, yeah, yeah, Chase, you're complicit. I'm going back to darts. And I am sorry for all of the fry throwing lovers. Fry loving throwers. Loving a fry throwing. Fry throwing lovers. I've gotta go back to the darts, too. And just like that, they went back to darts. Mm hmm. I haven't even thrown my dart yet. Throw it.

I'm throwing it at Cambodia as well, because you're close, but maybe I can get closer. It could be Indonesia, but I also think it's Cambodia. Okay. Those fries were, I was pretty good with the fries. The dart is so much. heavier than the fries. The adjustment theory. Hurt the map again though. Yeah, that's, that's all that really counts.

You just had bakso goreng, which literally translates. to deep fried meatball. It's one of my beloved dishes in my home country. It can be made with all sorts of variety. You guys had chicken today, and they can be served. with chili sauce or tomato ketchup, and they're from, say it with me, Indonesia. I don't see any ketchup that hit Indonesia. Ah, nuts. I mean, sorry. Balls. Ah, balls.

Sorry, sorry. - I was trying to be... - No, no, no, no need to apologize. No need to apologize. You did it. It was funny, yeah, but, uh, you got four, Link. And Rhett, you had ten. Oh, dang. Dang. You can't use the fries anymore. I need them. We got yellow meatballs. Well, the, the sauce has something in it. It has your favorite vegetable. Onions.

Is that an onion? Mm, smells good. That's hot! Very sweet. I don't think it's too spicy. Um I'm in the lead now. Mm. So I'm gonna defer to you. Before I share all of my wisdom. I'm not gonna say anything. Oh, you're not?

No, I'm gonna let you go and then I'm gonna say all. the things I want to say. Okay. Alright, well, in order to not be, um, called. by name, you know, I am going back to the darts. Oh gosh, it could be anywhere, huh? Well, I know that that yellow gravy is, um, I. mean, you can get just as much curry in freakin. England, as you can in India.

You can also get curry in Japan. This could be a freakin Japanese curry. It's not as spicy as I thought it would be if it were Indian. So I think, I think this is a Japanese curry. I'm goin out on a limb here. Wow. Yep, and I know about this because Lando makes. Japanese curry stuff. Oh, this is okay, now that your son is actually.

cooking, I feel like you're getting culinary. - Knowledge that might... - And I know it's way over there. threaten my domination of this game. So, let's see. Hm. What am I gonna do? I reserve the right to hit China. You do whatever you want to. Ow! Huh. That was a good aim. Back with a dart, so I'm feeling good about my choice. Okay. I hedged my bet. I'm down by 16, and my guess is within 16 of. - Yours because... - India? I was actually thinking more specific to Nepal.

Okay. But, you know, very close. Well, I am wearing a Sherpa. Maybe that was what was influencing me. So, here's the thing. Here's the thing. My official guess is Nepal. However, you're closer than 16 centimeters to that. So I'm actually gonna go on, uh, one of the options that. you presented, which was, maybe this is from the UK. because curry has taken such a hold of that country.

Have you seen the hold curry has on that country? Yes. And so I'm gonna try to hit up. And hope To Zeus that I'm right. To Zeus? That's my new god, I haven't told you. Okay. He's an old god, but he's now my new god. You worship Zeus now? Yeah, he has lightning bolts that come out of his hands. Okay. You don't find that impressive? Are, are you, are you, where did you see this happen?

In a picture. Alright, he's going for UK. Woo! Ow! Link! It wasn't me, man. It wasn't me. Ugh. Wow. You just had baler i kaire, which translates to meatballs. in curry sauce, a traditional recipe in this dish's country.

of origin, despite the fact. That curry sauce and rice are both ingredients. originating very far away. It's from Denmark. Oh shoot. I'm almost in Denmark. Denmark! Oh my goodness! Denmark?! You going first hurt you. It hurt you man. It hurt you. so bad, but I don't know. I don't know. All right, Link you had 27. Oh that hurts.

Rhett, three. Ooh, that's so soft. You've done it. Which means that Rhett pulled off the win, and. Link, your mouth, will be a human basketball net for. him in Good Mythical More. Oh, and that's not in celebration of anyone winning. It's in celebration of you not really making. any testicle references throughout this whole episode.
