International Costco Taste Test

Today we're trying Costco food court menu items. from around the world. Let's talk about that. ((Intro Music)). Good Mythical Morning. In my mind, Costco is a very American experience. because, you buy more than you need because it's sold. in bulk, and then you kick back with a sweet and salty. combo of hot dog and soda from the beloved food court. Well, actually, us Costco heads know that Costco.

is a worldwide phenomenon with over 800 locations. in over a dozen countries. Well, I've never called myself a Costco head. And at this rate, you never will. We also know that Costco food courts around the. world actually serve a wide variety of different foods. Well, that must mean it's time for Where in the World. Do These International Costco Menu Items Come From? ((Upbeat Music)). - [Stevie] Okay, my Cost-hoes. You're about to taste an international Costco food.

court menu item and throw your darts at the map to guess. where you think it came from. Chase, the in bulk cartographer. - [Rhett] In bulk! I've been bulking up. You guys have your membership cards? Cause I got some free samples. ((Laughing)). - [Stevie] God. That was as good as I was wanting it to be. - [Stevie] He's going to measure how close you are to the. correct answer and also be doing that the whole episode. - [Link] Great! - [Stevie] And Link, you actually won last time, so, Rhett, that.

means you get a surprise advantage this time. As I do. You have to go first, Link. Well, I see here we have a big ol' pizza. It's got shrimp, it's got. - Pork? - Is that pork? It's got crab, it's. got peas, it's got corn, it's got carrots, it's got cheese, it's got cheese on the crust. They could have done a better job of cutting it! Good gosh, come on!

This is what they wanted though. They wanted an entertaining cut beat. Like this. Okay, I'm gonna eat it now. Thanks for telling me. I like shrimp on my pizza. I like shrimp on lots of things. Matter of fact, I haven't found shrimp on anything. that I didn't like. Including this. This is good. - [Rhett] That's a good pizza. Sorry. But where's it from, friend?

I'm gonna indicate my answer on this map, but I'm not gonna. tell you because, that would give you an advantage. And because my, my darts are so wild, you can't interpret. my throw as an actual answer. Strategy. Now that I'm a winner again, I gotta think strong. How's it feel? Maybe I'll try to get a little bit closer to South Korea. in case that's the answer. Oh! Maybe I'll just be in the middle of China. My answer was South Korea. I'm just gonna say it. Oh. - [Stevie] You just had a seafood pizza, and you basically named every. single thing that's on it.

There were no Costcos in this country until 2019, and now. there are a whopping six. I'm speaking, of course, about China. - Yes! - And we both got zero. - [Link] We both nailed it! - [Rhett] That's never happened before! This has never happened before! Never happened before! 2024, two zeros from your boys! Two zeros from your boys! - [Stevie] Seems like you both need to put your. hazard lights on then. Yeah, that's right. My arms are akimbo. This is a potato with shredded cheese that doesn't. seem like it was melted. - [Link] Yeah, it looks like an accident happened. Do you think that this is? Whoops! I mean, the Mythical Kitchen, they do. everything intentionally. So, this is like, this is what this is. Oh! Look under there! That's tuna! Tuna and shredded cheese that's not melted. So, it's a tuna, tuna unmelt? I mean, I like these ingredients.

I've never had it on a baked potato. I've never had tuna on a baked potato, but. Link, you're still up, because neither of us got. anything on that first one. Let's do that all day today. Zeros? - Let's just both. - Across the board. Pinpoint it, and we can just, we can remain. friends, you know? You think this, this game is going to tear. apart our friendship? With those muscles, Chase, I don't think you need to. walk away from the board. Yeah, yeah. I think you can stand right there. Also, I just had to, like, tuck the tag into my muscle.

- [Link] Just stay there. I'm writing my answer down on this with a knife. Because my answer is Mexico. Don't move. So, people don't think I'm cheating. You're writing it with a knife? - [Rhett] Yeah. Potatoes and tuna in. It's kind of hard to see. So it's, this is strange. This is strange. There's no sauce on it. There's no nothing else. So, it's a little, it's a bit bland.

I don't know. Canada maybe? Sweden perhaps? - [Rhett] A lot of cheese. A lot of cheese. Yeah, I'm gonna go with Sweden. I just think that they would do that. Oh! Well, Link, as I wrote down on my napkin, can you see?

Sweden. - [Rhett] Sweden. ((Laughing)). I knew you would say Sweden, and that's also my answer. Okay. It's right there. No getting around it. Now, if you can hit it, that's going to do better than me, because as you can see, I did. Why, why? What's the point of that? I was just, making my sleeve go up. We're both swinging wide of Sweden.

Swinging wide of Sweden! - [Stevie] One particular Costco food court will sell. you a tuna jacket potato for just under $3. You can also get a jacket potato with baked beans, beef chili, cheese, or coleslaw at Costco's in. The United Kingdom. Oh, yes. - [Stevie] And we have a little TikTok reveal here. This is what it looks like in all of its glory. - [TikToker] That is a bargain, and fair play, this is one of the biggest jacket. potatoes I've ever seen. If you were buying this in a little cafe or something, it'd be seven, eight quid.

But 2.99. is a pure banger. I can't lie, for the price, this was absolutely amazing. 2.99, it's half ten at night, and I'm thinking of excuses as to. why I can go to Costco just so I can have a jacket potato. I didn't, I've never used the word jacket potato. Have you ever said fair play? No. Or wanker. You should start. Link, you had five. Rhett, thirteen. Oh! Beep boop! Beep boop! Beep boop! But I can put my finger in it. Okay. I'm just gonna stop eating it. - [Stevie] You know guys, that shirt just doesn't have a. bunch of giraffes on it. Did you know that? You know who that is? - [Stevie] This is one of my favorite ones that we've put out. I just think it's so cute. - [Link] It's a pile of giraffes. - [Stevie] Look at your spots. You have personalized spots. But it's not spicy. Maybe you, you know, people like soup in. places that are cold. So maybe this is Sweden again.

((Sneeze)). Bless you. Maybe this is Canada. It gets cold up there. My initial instinct was Spain. But then I started thinking about like, heat and stuff. It's fancy. It's almost, you know, it's almost French. Almost French? What's almost France up there, Spain? - [Link] Almost France is Canada. Uh huh. There's entire provinces that just speak French.

Boy, if you're right about that, I'm gonna. be really impressed. Here we go. Oh, gosh. I wanted to hit the east coast, I wanted to Quebec it, but. That's actually what I would consider to. be incredibly strategic. Because you're very close to Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Sweden, and Spain. Which are all the five places that I think. that this could be from. I'm destined to win today. But you know what? I have a lifeline that I am sure is gonna be.

Sweden, Spain, South Africa, and South Korea. Do some of the work for her. And, it kind of tastes like it might. have sweet potato, maybe some pumpkin in it. It's a hearty soup, and it has cilantro on top. Do you know which country's food court this comes from? Hey, Julia, I'm here too. Ignore him, I'm trying to beat him. What are you up to this weekend? Hold on, she's got ten seconds. What do you think it's from? - [Julia] I'm so sorry you cut out, I couldn't hear anything you just said.

I'm going to, I'm going to, I'm going a little. bit to the right of you thinking maybe it's closer. to Spain, or Sweden. Okay.

- [Stevie] You just had a sweet pumpkin soup made from kabocha squash. This is a dish commonly enjoyed throughout this. country and it will cost you approximately. 4,000 won in Costco food courts in South Korea. Oh! Won. I want to rethrow, you know what I mean? Yeah, Link. You had 46. - [Link] Okay. And.

And Rhett, you had 33. Oh, wow. That hurts. ((Upbeat Music)). Good gracious. Now as far as score goes, it's exactly what. I wanted to happen. I wanted you to take the lead by just a few centimeters. That's a big. What do we got here? We got jalapeños, we've got, maybe some serrano. We've got. What, what kind of meat is this?

- [Stevie] And this is the mystery round. So the country that you're looking for is not highlighted. on the map necessarily. That's a sweet stringy meat right there. Almost like a meatball. - [Link] Marinated. - [Rhett] Cilantro. Why is it so huge? And then look at this kind of meat. Two men just picking at a sandwich. Roast beef. Boy, there's a lot of good flavors in there.

Gracious. Okay, you gotta go first. - [Stevie] Wait, neither of you is actually going to take. a bite of the sandwich? Well, cut it in half or something. - [Stevie] Just a nibble at it. I mean. Well, you want to deconstruct it. This way we can give it back to the Mythical. Kitchen and Josh eats it. That's what happens. Anytime we put things back, Josh just eats it for lunch. - [Stevie] You're not wrong. This is the best meat in the thing. You don't like the spongy meat? I like the spongy meat. It's pretty good too. Okay.

I'm going to think out loud here, Link. Oh. All these ingredients. Typically go in pho. A lot of them do, right? That's right. These meats, the jalapeños, and I know. that there was a French occupation of Vietnam at. one point, in which they incorporated the baguette. into their culinary history. - [Link] You knew all of that, and then you're, why. are you telling me this? Because it makes the show entertaining.

You're taking one for the team? I like that. That doesn't mean that this is from Vietnam. Of course, now I need to know where Vietnam is. - [Rhett] Well, it's. - [Link] It's wherever you throw. I've heard of it, yeah. - [Stevie] I'm just shocked that you didn't, I mean, you. were like, this is all the stuff you find in Vietnamese. cuisine, which is correct, but it's called a bánh mì, it's. delicious, especially if you eat the bread around it. Yep. What? Man! Australia steals everything. I should have gone for Australia. So, we just rederived bánh mì without. realizing it was bánh mì. - [Stevie] I didn't know if it was like a strategy of yours.
