Ice Cream vs Frozen Yogurt

yeah but that's that's pretty much the. the truth of it so just go with it all. right oh it's time to tackle another. groundbreaking issue a debate a topic. you know the deeper questions of Life. today are you ready to answer the. question what is the superior product. frozen yogurt or ice cream I have an. opinion but I will wait I will hold on. to my opinion like I'm holding on to a. bowl of either ice cream or yogurt oh I. don't know what's in the bowl yet right.

all right let's start with some uh brief. history just to wet the pallet and the. appetite for whichever is your choice. history of ice cream link do you know. the ice cream has been around since the. 10th Century which was yes I emailed. that fact to you very surprising to me. but it turns out because I was like what. did they do before Refrigeration do you. know that they used to go out to ponds. and they would cut huge blocks of ice. out of frozen ponds in the winter and. then they would store it either in the. ground or in these like insulated boxes. filled with straw and then the summer. months came and they got and they Shake.

the ice and then they would put some. some cream and some some fruit and then. they made ice cream it sounds like a. luxury yeah if you're more well to do. and I regularly go into frozen ponds and. cut blocks of ice for storage and for. the summer and I never thought about. making ice cream with them well now you. can think about that yogurt is produced. using a culture of lactobacilus Del. brucki bacteria oh that's my favorite. which is named after the famous NBA. basketball player it's then added to. heated milk and allowed to ferment how. milk was first cultured into yogur YT.

remains a mystery but there's evidence. of yogurt being made as early as 2000 BC. really now that's just yogurt frozen. yogurt wasn't invented until the ' 70s. and I'm talking about the. 1970s up in New England it started to. surface and uh it let's see who is this. guy HP Hood called it frogurt that was. smart that was smart but then it didn't. taste that good so no one really used it. or liked it or enjoyed it or bought it. you can also use frozen yogurt like as a.

drug an ointment I regularly rub it on. my face to treat acne they had they had. to make it smoother and they had to make. it more tasty and add a lot of sugar and. stuff like that before people started. buying it took a few years but now it's. it's a burgeoning industry what are your. arguments of what you think is better. frozen yogurt or ice cream dedicated. sleuth type I like ice cream better. because of the texture if I wanted. something soft I would have regular. yogurt now that I mean and now I'm.

talking about it's it's is it scoopable. now you can have soft serve ice cream. but that's like the loser ice cream so. if if you're if you're voting for that. I'm just kind of I'm I'm putting you in. in The Dugout right now so we're talking. about pristine scoopable Ice Cream. versus frozen yogurt that's basically. soft sered you can't ask for scoops of. frozen yogurt the thing has to kind of. poop it out you go up to the thing and. you so if.

if you like to have your food served to. you in a in poop form then you're going. to like frozen yogurt I think I know. where you you land on this one you're. already calling frozen yogurt poop like. you're the one who called it poop like I. was just clarifying sorry uh but ice. cream I guess it could be a it could be. an advantage that it could be soft serve. or scoopable so I I think it could come. in different textures depending on what. you want the marsu guy mhm typed ice. cream because it's much more delicious. ious and every time I get sick I eat ice.

cream I think getting sick and eating. ice cream is sort of just beside the. point but the fact that he thinks ice. creen tastes better seem to be a pretty. common opinion as I looked at some of. the comments yeah and but what if he's. eating so much ice cream that's what's. making him sick has he thought of that. correlation because there there's a. health factor for uh yogurt which we'll. get to uh tahili 421 makes the. counterbalancing point Frozen y yurt is.

better because it can taste like ice. cream if you want that or it can taste. like frozen yogurt now before moving out. here back in North Carolina there. weren't a lot of yogurt places there was. TCBY but nobody ever went there you go. to Baskin Robins and you go to the local. ice cream shop like sunny skies which. was which was famous I mean it was on. Good Morning America because he invented. a hot ice cream habanero ice cream that. you had to sign a waiver before you yes. um but I didn't think that you could.

have a tasty ice yogurt rather until I. moved out here and there's yogurt places. everywhere yeah and I realized that yeah. it is soft serve but it's very very. tasty and there's a kind of a different. vibe in the yogurt places in the ice. cream place you know a trendy Vibe it's. like you the ice cream places where you. take Grandma and then yogurt places. where you like take a girl you're trying. to impress you know what I'm saying so. quaint versus kind of you could like. pink Berry you've got this like hipster. kind of a Vibe where I'm cool because. I'm because I'm frequenting this.

establishment Corsten says ice cream is. better because you have any flavor you. want to choose from there's a lot of. choices but then you know what I've. learned and what. chenel bright said is frozen yogurt is. way better they let you choose all the. different flavors plus as much put as. much in the bowl as you want then. usually you can put toppings on it. that's how the frozen yogurt places work. where I live but you know.

so there's choices but they're different. kinds of choices but it's like a. Mongolian restaurant frozen yogurt is. like a Mongolian restaurant you know. where it's just like pick your meat and. pick the stuff and then and somebody's. going to kind of cook it all up it's up. it's your thing it's up to you yeah it's. empowering that's that's what I like. about the frozen yogurt place you got. Pinkberry does that right I haven't been. in a long time but I've been to fro your. life select a yogurt yogur select the. toppings yeah and then so it it poops. out and you've got like eight anywhere.

from 8 to 15 different flavors that you. poop into your container and then you go. over to the to the topping section you. put anything you want on it and I I. think Coldstone is is you know does the. same thing with ice cream but all yogurt. places have it you're not going to go. into a yogurt place where you can't put. anything on it and then they just charge. you by how much it weighs my kids just. go nuts in this place it's just you know. they go they're just raking everything. in there and just having a ball and then. it's ultimately cheap cheaper than you.

would be if you like went to Ben and. Jerry's and got everybody in ice cream. it would be like 25 bucks but to me it's. there's this I I call it the chef Factor. you know do you want to have it your way. where you can go into a yogurt shop and. totally screw up a nice bowl of. something or go to say the Ben and. Jerry's Baskin Robbins or the sunny Sky. local version and some ice cream Chef. has made this scoopable. recipe creation. that you're just going to trust the chef.

and say I'm going to experience this as. as one thing it's not something with. other stuff on top of it that You'. probably put the wrong thing like Le ly. like Y at yogur place they got this. stuff called ly stuff and and cookie. dough and peaches it's easy to screw up. is what you're saying yeah but with the. chef's Perfection I mean look at Ben and. Jerry's my favorite ice what's your. favorite ice cream um flavor I like that. chunky monkey oh from benad Jerry's yeah.

or just I don't even have to be benad. Jerry's I'm a fan of Rocky Road Rocky. Road be he really labored in your you. wanted you didn't want to commit to. something my favorite is Ben and Jerry's. cinnamon buns you're not going to get an. experience like Ben and Jerry's cinnamon. buns at a yogurt place you're going to. get a concoction that you're creating. unless you're really good you're like a. chef you can't have that stuff the. cinnamon icing and the stuff like that.

and all this though link the one thing. you didn't mention was. U the beaver's anal. gland uh and I I don't want to mention I. didn't spend a lot of time going through. the comments U but I did see from nerdy. nails by Nicole I'm assuming that's. Nicole she said here's a fun fact cheap. ice creams use beaver anal gland for. flavoring the ingredient is called. korium uh so do you want a product that.

looks like poop when it comes out or do. you want a product that doesn't but that. passes passes past something that this. seemed like a has something in it that. poop passes by this seemed like an. outlandish claim to me so I did some. research I put my research hat on I. actually have a hat I sh it to you. before no he don't have a hat no I'm. good okay so I put on a research hat and. I did some research and it turns out. that korium is actually used in in it is. accepted by the FDA as a proved by the. FDA to use in flavoring and it has been.

used used to be used regularly as. vanilla flavoring and this is the. secretion of a beaver's anal gland that. they used to mark their territory with. and somebody back in the day figured out. a way to dry this stuff up and put it in. things to make it taste like vanilla. apparently a beaver's butt tastes like. vanilla that's another thing that I kind. of inferred through all this but it. turns out that there was a guy who. investigated this claim cuz Jamie Oliver. the chef went on to Letterman and he. said that he made that claim on.

Letterman on the show mhm and then this. guy researched it and said he called. like five major ice cream manufacturers. and it turns out that they no longer or. these ones never did use beaver anal. gland in their ice cream but it is. possible that you've had ice cream. flavored with a beaver's butt so are so. you're voting for yogurt no I'm voting. for ice cream because I think that's a. point in its favor really yeah I think. if you can be so creative as to figure. out how to flavor something with an anal. gland. from a beaver you get points for that.

even if it's no longer done but my real. reason is when you make a decision to. choose yogurt or ice cream when you make. a decision to eat either one of those. you're making a decision to say I'm. going to have a treat I'm treating. myself I'm eating something that's. relatively high in calories it doesn't. offer any real benefit to me even if it. has some live cultures in it I think. that that is outweighed by the fact that. it's a high calorie food just go for it. and get the thing that tastes the best. with or without beaver anal gland ice. cream I believe ultimately has a better.

taste I think once you factor in health. price and the experience of empowerment. I'm overriding the the chef factor and. the the beaver gland factor and I'm I'm. going with yogurt on this one as a full. experience and as we spin the wheel to. end the episode I will tell you uh. ladies that Chanel. perfume according to Wikipedia still. uses korium in it so if you're a big fan. of Chanel perfume or at least a certain. kind you might be putting beaver butt on.
