of good mythical morning this is also. the behind-the-scenes video for our. latest music video my hair goes up my. hair goes down. this episode is really about showing you. some things that you may have not seen. or you may want to know more about from. watching the video so this is the first. music video that we've shot since we've. been out here in California you know. going back to Fuquay Varina North. Carolina where we shot our music videos. in the past it was like we're the only. guys in town shooting a music video you. know but all of a sudden we're in this. town where everybody's trying to shoot.

everywhere you got to get a permit if. you go out to a park you're supposed to. have a permit because you might get shut. down so we kind of moved into this with. a little trepidation well so we decided. to shoot in the park and I don't think. you're even now supposed to say what you. just said which is acknowledge that we. know we need a permit you know cuz we. are you talking about a permit you need. a permit right we actually practice this. you know if somebody comes up to me you. have a permit good that's much better. that's that's what we practice nobody. tried to shut us down so we were I mean.

it's just it's just me you and Jason and. I and a camera and sometimes a like a. solar bounce yes I call it uh well the. first thing that we had to do is there's. a couple of scenes where we needed some. other people so we we actually we went. out to the Balboa Park is that where we. were yeah. Balboa Park which is kind of in between. our two houses because we knew that. there was some good scenery out there. and we needed two people to be in the. video the first person that we needed. was we just needed somebody to look at. link while he was on the bench with his.

pointy ears and there just happened to. be this girl walking through the park at. the time that we needed this scene and. so we said excuse me ma'am. it's a little creepy probably to have. three guys come up to you and just start. talking to you it's but she actually had. a child with her too we uh you know. enhances the probably the protective. instinct of someone who's being. approached by a stranger but we pressed. on. excuse me ma'am would you like to be in. a video for the Internet and of course. she was like what so we we were like.

just sit over here just roll with it. just go with it it'll be fine all you. got to do is sit here and look at this. guy so yes he has pointy ears you're not. going to explain why we knew we could. get anybody to look at my elf ears but. we wanted this shot of you as the giant. you know technically a giant and we so. we knew it had to be somebody short and. we we'd shot all the shots we needed. the park and we hadn't found anybody who. would short it up and where we go back. to the car and we're packing up. everything said well we'll just go. somewhere else and then I didn't notice.

it but there was a car parallel parked. right behind us at the park as we were. packing stuff up in the trunk there's. like the only other people left in the. part when we were leaving Rhett leans. over to me and he says look in the front. seat of that car there's two women and. they both look really short yeah I mean. like really short and it turns out that. uh they were and we you know we only use. one because they were holding a newborn. baby and we we already had a newborn. child so we didn't ask can we use you in. your newborn. there was definitely a language barrier. but she was happy to uh you know to.

follow our hand gestures and to smile. and well and there was a language. barrier but I think her boyfriend or her. husband spoke both Spanish and English. and so that she was it was being. translated that's right he showed up but. what they kept saying was because Jason. understands a little bit of Spanish but. he said what they were saying repeatedly. was who is this tall man who is this. tall man that's what they were saying in. Spanish because they thought well this. guy must be somebody he's going around. getting pictures with short people maybe. for the world record book or something. so that worked out at the last minute.

and not only do we use other people but. of course we're operating on the cheap. cheap here so we used our own children. in a particular part we I've got two you. have three it's hard to keep up with. sometimes yeah you trying to take credit. for one of my kids no no no definitely. not you want to take over the that would. get very automated with that you're more. but we used my too and then your oldest. too and the scene we're gonna show you a. little bit more what happened during. that scene of our kids right so the so. the ship is taken away and then there we.

wanted to get some safety shots of them. being sad so the direction was be sad. Lily Locke Lincoln and Shepard Lily look. right here when you look good I think. about when you broke you you're sadder. move aside her Lincoln you got to get. out of shot buddy how bad. everything you know zag you are. every lock I got a lot probably skinning. me look even sadder.

no not closing your eyes okay linking. links it your head you sad Lincoln. all right Shepard you look at that spot. link shake your head Shepard you're sad. be sad I want you to make a really sad. face like pretend that somebody just. stole your Beyblade can you cry a little. bit look up a little bit and cry.

don't smile one more. don't smile one more Shepard and you can. you can save your head like it said in. the industry since we're on the fringes. of it we hear murmurs that you know you. shouldn't work with kids and you. shouldn't work with animals so I guess. technically we didn't work with animals. we wanted it to appear that we were. working with both now first of all the. birds I am full because this is YouTube. and we know a lot about YouTube and. we've been on YouTube for six years now.

we know the type of comment we know that. we're gonna get this comment you could. totally see the string special effects. fail I can see the fishing line you guys. suck a special facts and you know what. you're right and we're sorry um what. hopefully if you're not if you're a. mythical beast and you've been a. mythical beast for quite some time. you understand our sense of humor and. you know that you see the fake birds and. the string on purpose hopefully I didn't.

even need to explain that so just. pretend that I didn't even say that and. you got the joke anyway or maybe we. should just put an annotation that says. watch you know people say watching high. quality we should bow and says watching. really low quality and you will see the. finishing line you won't see the fishing. line pulling the ship or any of the. birds there was a lot of utilization of. fishing line in this one we all hit the. boat with a fishing line and we held up. all the birdies we totally blew our. budget on fishing line talking. seventy-nine cents they're a lot harder. to gather I like the fact that they all. flew in a formation but they're a lot.

harder to gather than you would. anticipate so you took to grab four. birdies and bring them into your hands. and then kiss them as I did and it's. tough to film that without laughing it. is shaking a lot and we didn't just work. with our kids. fake birds link had an opportunity to. work with someone else's baby I'm an. official baby handler now I'm like a. baby whisperer I know I've had three of. my own give me a give me a break here I. was actually encouraged because the mom. these are friends of our family you know.

we knew that they had a baby that was. just a few months olds we like let's use. that baby Lucius is his name and we were. really encouraged when Leah just brought. the baby out gave him to us and then. waited about 20 minutes and then kind of. thought everything's okay then she's. like when. back inside and that's when I start. putting the baby behind my head you were. you were good with the baby. maybe we should include more babies at. our music but let's not I it is I would. rather clear include real babies than. robotic babies they're the ones that are. tough there was a there was a rope swing. there in their yard so we decided we get.

some shots for the end of me swinging. the baby and the head would fall off and. that would be funny but it quickly. dawned on us that something about this. rope was not appropriate to put a baby. in and swing in the music video so this. didn't make the cut it looked like a. noose I think at some point maybe it had. a tire on it or something that would've. been more appropriate there was a tire. but I think the tire has fallen off so. we definitely recommend if you're. getting into this to use your own kids. to use fake birds and animals in general.
