Can We Find The Hidden Fast Food?
- Is there a hot dog hiding in my burger? (upbeat music). - "Good Mythical Morning.". - Taco Bell is the king of taking the same basic ingredients. and rearranging them to make inspired new dishes. - Yeah, it's like shuffling a deck of cards. and ending up with a Crunch Wrap Supreme no matter what. - But what if we took all of the ingredients from a dish, from any fast food restaurant. and instead we made a meatloaf or a grilled cheese.
or a wedding cake. Would we be able to sus out the original fast food. just by taste? We're gonna try just that. - Yeah, let's do. (upbeat music). - [Megan] Hi there. - What up, Megan. - Hey. - [Megan] Hey, today the Mythical Kitchen. hid every ingredient from a specific. fast food menu item in this pizza. They were allowed to use additional ingredients. as long as they used the entirety of the fast food item. - [Rhett] Okay. - [Megan] You have four bites to guess.
what the hidden food is. - Uh huh. - [Megan] The more bites you take the fewer points you get. So be careful. You only get one guess per bite. - Mine was falling apart a little bit. so I'm going in for the fork bite. - I mean, it smells like Digiorno. - It certainly smells like a pizza. - Getting rid of those. So, every single thing from the hidden item is in here, not just a part of it. - [Megan] Yep. - It tastes exactly like a pizza. (everyone laughing). Do you taste anything else?
- Tomatoes. - Well yeah. - The thing, I don't like these diced tomatoes. Green peppers, I don't know, what is that sauce under there? All right, we can't take another bite. We just have to guess but we can keep touching it I guess. - [Megan] Ready to take your first guess? - No. - I'm taking all, these, if I ate tomatoes on things I think I would have it. 'Cause I mean, what has tomatoes. that are diced like that? Am I giving you a hint?
- Well, it doesn't taste like it would be. something from Taco Bell. They have diced tomatoes but I don't taste any... - That's a big diced tomato. - [Rhett] It's also a big diced tomato. So I think it's literally just. the tomato from this thing diced. - Oh, you think that that's a big slice of tomato. on the orig? Or it might, the tomato might not be in the original at all. - It might not be. Okay, I got a guess. - [Megan] Link, you ready? - Yes. - [Megan] Okay make your guess in three, two, one.
- In-N-Out Double Double. - Tomato salad. - [Megan] Link, did you say tomato salad? - Yeah, I don't know why. - [Megan] Okay. - I didn't really have a guess. - You know the famous tomato salad from Arby's. - [Megan] Of course. - I guess the tomatoes are that big. on a Double Double. - [Megan] You are both incorrect. so you may take another bite. (fork clanging). - [Link] Oh, we don't get a hint yet? - [Megan] No hint yet. - Oh gosh, I don't, I mean maybe, I'm trying to get some of this sauce under there. because I don't think there's any tomato sauce.
- Is it just pizza from a different place. that's put into pizza? - [Megan] You got us. - Oh hold on. - It's not a good pizza, no offense. - [Nicole] None taken. - It's just... - Okay, I got something spicy on that one. I got something spicy. Diced tomatoes, something a little bit spicy... - There's some sort of meat right there that I didn't get. and that is super thin. It's like a super thin prosciutto.
- It's like a Canadian bacon. - It's not a pepperoni, that thing right there. I should have eaten that but I didn't get it. - I ate it and it didn't help. - Okay, um all right, I'm ready. - [Megan] Ready? - Uh uh uh. - [Megan] Three, two, one. - Subway sandwich. - Sbarro. - [Megan] I'm gonna need more specific, Link. - This is a tomato, Italian, an Italian sub from Subway.
- [Megan] Uh not exactly. - Oh, sounds like we're at Subway then. - Okay yeah, that... - [Megan] Let's give you the hint. and see if you can get it on the next one. - All right. Not this type of hint. - Oh yeah yeah. - Stamina tubby wail? - [Megan] It's an anagram. - Subway... - Stamina tubby wail, that's all I see. - [Megan] That is what you're reading. - Okay, Subway... - Is wail a word like that?
That's not how you spell wail. Is that when you scream a lot? Oh. - [Megan] Yeah. - So it's not like the mammal in the sea. - It's not the cold cut trio, I can tell that. because it doesn't have any of those letters in it. Uh. - Yeah, what from Subway has stamina tubby wail? It's a lot of letters. Oh god, it's just a non starter for me. - Um, there's two T's in it. - Two B's. - Well it's...
- [Megan] You can also take another bite. while you're figuring this out. - Subway Barata sub. - It is the word Subway, right? My bite is just of that little, it is pepperoni. - Oh yeah, it's... - I mean, I would have thought it was an Italian. - No, they have another one that is uh... - Subway... - They have another sub... - Subway lapara, lama lama lamanay laminate.
- It's got an L, it's got T's. - Laminate sandwich. - It's got a B, Balatta. - Subway... - Subway Balatta. - Subway stamina itch. - Mufalatta. Subway Mufalatta. - See, I knew subway. - I'm impressed. - [Megan] All right, we took a look at the menu. and because this is the only Italian sub. we're gonna give it to Link. It's the Italian BMT. - BMT. - BMT, okay oh yeah, he said Italian sub. Yeah, you should have given it to him at that point. - Is this bread from...
- [Megan] We, we just really wanted to. see him struggle with the anagram. - Where's the bread from the BMT? - [Nicole] So, I took the Subway loaf of bread. and I made it into a pizza crust. - How? - [Nicole] 'Cause I'm a genius. - I don't understand. - [Nicole] Well, I took the bread, I dehydrated it and kind of made a Subway bread flour. and I used that to make a dough. - That sounds horrible. - [Nicole] Well yeah. - It's amazing how good you made it taste. - [Nicole] Get a good whiff. - Having done that. - [Nicole] Get a good sniff of it. It smells like that yeasty bready Subway smell.
- [Link] Yeah, yeah. - Yeah. - [Link] Yep yep. - Okay. - Yeah, that's why this is horrible. Not because of you of course. - And the anagram didn't help you at all. - Of course not. - You already got it. - But I don't want anymore of those. - This portion of today's episode is sponsored by Zocdoc. (upbeat music). - Woo, now we got a meatball stroganoff? - [Megan] Swedish meatballs, in fact. - [Link] Swedish meatballs. - [Rhett] Swedish meatballs. - [Link] But these meatballs are sus.
- [Rhett] You know, I need to get a full bite here. - I wanna look at the half of the meatball. - It just looks like brown. - It kind of looks bready. There's definitely something hidden in this meatball. Whoops. I will pick that up and eat it. 'cause I only have one bite. - Whatever it is it's coming through. - The gravy's okay. - And it is very bready. - I've saved the ball for now.
- Oh. This did not translate. Yeah, that meatball is hurting. - [Megan] You guys ready? - Uh. What is that in the meatball? - What could that have been? - I think I have a genre. All right, so I'm in a genre of foods. - Something hits me and I feel like I am too. You have a, oo I got it. - Oh, thank you. - It was fluffy.
- You know what, keep it. Keep it. - [Megan] Ready? - I want you to have it. - Okay. - [Megan] Three, two, one. - Egg McMuffin. - Falafel. (everyone laughing). - [Megan] Nope. - The meatball is like a falafel ball. - Well, yeah. You just said what it tasted like. and falafel is not an item in a fast food place. - No, it's not. I didn't even say that. All right, we get another bite? - [Rhett] I said Egg McMuffin.
I thought that was a good guess. - [Link] Why did you think that though? - I don't know, just something in my soul. - So, the gravy... - Oh, I got something different this time. - The gravy itself is not just like from KFC or something. This is not a signature gravy. You made gravy. - [Nicole] I made gravy. - Yep. - [Nicole] Yes, I did. - See. But that meatball is...
- What is happening? - It's like if you put flooring. in your house that's just like, you can get vinyl flooring that looks like wood. but then you taste it and you know it ain't wood. - I follow. I'm trying to do that thing where I already ate it. and now I'm tasting it having eaten it. and imagining it could have been something else. So it's like getting my mind to like, oh you, yeah you know what you just ate. You ate something that tastes like trash,
really is what it tastes like. - It doesn't taste bad to me. It's just like, there's, there's a lot of grain. There's grains in this meatball. There's not a lot of meat. There may not be any meat. - All right, I got one. - [Megan] All right, guessing what's in the grain ball. in three, two, one. - Wetzel's Pretzels. - Hardee's Gyro. - [Megan] What was, Hardee's? - Hardee's or Carl's Junior Hero or Gyro. - [Megan] Both are incorrect. - Okay. - [Megan] That means you get a hint.
- Don't you do those word things. - [Megan] Link, we knew you were gonna get mad. We knew you were gonna get mad. so we put together a word search with the correct answer. - A word search? - Oh, oh. - [Megan] A word search. You have 10 seconds to look at it starting now. - This is crazy. - Oh, good god, I hope it's not backwards. Slow, slowsdoer. - [Megan] Take it away. - Jubulcontinator. - I see fries, I see meal. - Oh, I see fries. - Crunch Wrap Supreme. - [Megan] Take it away, take it away. - So you think this is a Taco Bell item?
I did not see it on there. - [Rhett] I say Crunch Wrap Supreme. - Did you see Crunch Wrap Supreme? - I saw Crunch Wrap. - You did? - Yeah. - [Megan] You can have another bite. before guessing if you want. - I don't want anymore. - You think this, you think this is, I mean, he said he saw it. So, it feels like he's right. Let me see if I taste Crunch Wrap. So, I'm tasting every part of a crunch wrap. inside of this ball. - But I also saw the word meal. and I saw the word fries. Did you put other words in there. that may not be in there? Oh, I see yes, okay. - So, yeah Crunch Wrap before I get delusional.
- I got it, I got it. - [Megan] Three, two, one. - Fries. - Crunch Wrap Supreme. - [Megan] Nope. Yeah, we did put a lot of other words in there. You saw Crunch Warp. - Oh. - Crunch Warp. - Well. - [Megan] We were being silly. - I'm taking a Crunch Warp zone. - [Megan] Okay, since you're still struggling... - This is tough. - [Megan] You get the restaurant. The hidden food is from Arby's. - Oh, you did say Arby's at one point, or you said Hardee's. - I said Hardee's. - Hardee's, okay.
- Arby's... - All right, so can we guess now? - [Megan] Link's taking another bite. - It kinda makes sense now, doesn't it? - Not really, all right I'm a guess then. - Okay. - [Megan] Three, two, one. - Big Beef. - Arby's Meat Mountain. - [Megan] What did, what did you say, Link? - Big Beef. - [Megan] Big beef. Uh, both are incorrect. It was the Classic Beef N Cheddar. - Oh, the Beef N Cheddar which is the best thing there. - Classic Beef N Cheddar.
- Oh I see Crunch Warp, where is... - Oh, Beef N Cheddar. - Oh. So, Nicole, what is in the gravy? - [Nicole] So the gravy takes the cheese sauce. that's on the Arby Beef N Cheddar. and a little bit of Horsey Sauce... - Oh okay. - [Nicole] Which comes on the side. - What? - Yeah. - [Nicole] In those little saches and then I... - That's all the gravy is is cheese... - [Nicole] No, there's more. There's also some beef stock, there's salt, there's pepper, MSG. - Yeah. - So I was right to not like this.
- [Nicole] Oh totally yeah, also the meatballs, there's no ground beef in there whatsoever. It's literally just bun and ground up shaved roast beef. - And you were saying, it's not that I don't like it, it tastes bad, dude. I can't trust you if you thought that tasted good. - Well, you did trust me? That's nice to know. (upbeat music). Oh, it's soup. - A soup.
- I mean, as hard as it's been, this is gonna get difficult. - [Rhett] Right. - [Megan] This is a clam chowder. - It is? - Oh gosh, you added clams? - Well clams may be part of it. What kind of fast food places have clams? - Long John Silvers. - Yeah, uncross your eyes when you say that. - Long John Silvers. (everyone laughing). I wanna be the mascot for Long John Silvers. ♪ Long John Silvers ♪. (everyone laughing). We're never gonna get them to sponsor us now.
(everyone laughing). - Can you say it without crossing your eyes? - No, let me try, Long John Silvers. I can't, I can't do it. I can't do it. - That's like granddad humor. - No, that was dumb. I'm sorry. - I'm trying to figure out, I don't think I want clams in my bite. but I do want that piece of bacon. because I should be able to tell where this bacon's from.
So once this goes in my mouth the bacon's going to one side. and the chowder's going to the other. - Hm. Hm. - Oo that's real clammy. - I think I got it. - Potatoes. - Well that's from, potatoes are you know, already there. - I got a little bit of clam, gotta get rid of that.
I'm basing this soully on the taste. of the isolated bacon now. - [Megan] Would you like to make a guess? - Yes. - No, 'cause I'm baconing. - Baconeating. He's baconeating. - All right, I think I know which restaurant. this is from just based on the bacon. - [Rhett] Okay. - But I don't know what the dish is yet. with all the other pieces that are in there. All right. - [Megan] Three, two, one. - Bacon McGriddles. - Big Mac. Oo we're both at McDonalds?
- Yes. - Is it because of the bacon? - I just tasted McGriddles. - [Megan] Incorrect. That means you get another bite? - We get another bite. - Yummy. - [Megan] You get another bite. - See, I'm trying to figure out like, I see so much clam, that's, get out of here, clam. - [Megan] It is a clam chowder. - And then that's a celery?
This is decent. - It's not horrible. - [Link] If I ordered clam chowder. and this is what I got I wouldn't complain, would you? I'd be like, yeah that's it, it's clam chowder. - Yeah, it doesn't have anything particularly. off putting about it. - It's not like those balls in the last round. This right here, this is legit. - [Nicole] Can you look at me and say balls again? (everyone laughing). - Balls. - [Nicole] Thank you. - Um, what, wherever you got this from,
clam chowder can now be on the menu there. That's how decent this is. I wanna take a third bite, that would be illegal. - So, you thought it was from McDonalds as well. I don't know if we're right about that. - I'm just trying to think, like where could the other things be hiding? I think you can hide all the bread, maybe there's no bread. Like, how could she hide all of that bread... - She could figure it out. - In this creamy stuff? - There's a way.
There is a way. - I mean, it's thick. I think bread can be a chowder thickener. So I am gonna stick with a sandwich. - A sandwich? - Sandwich. - Okay. - And of course, I think bacon is part of it. - [Megan] You ready? - Um, yeah. - [Megan] Three, two, one. - McChicken. - Whopper. - [Megan] Nope. But that means you get a hint. - Okay. - [Megan] An anagram, just kidding.
- See, you went to Burger King all of a sudden. - [Megan] We drew a picture of the food for you. Take a look. (everyone laughing). - [Link] It looks like a deviled egg. You gotta cross your eyes. - Long John Silver it. - I don't even know if I can, are my, I know your eyes are crossed. That one or that one? Or that one? Long John Silvers. (everyone laughing). - Hey, are my, are my eyes... - I just wanna say it in a commercial. - Are my eyes even crossed? Like, is that, are they crossing? - [Megan] No, not at all. - [Rhett] I mean, a little bit. - Not at all? - [Rhett] A little bit. I mean a teeny bit. - I can't, I can't do it. I can't Long John Silvers it. - Yeah, this is gonna be a solo project. - Go on without me. - Okay, that isn't anything, y'all.

Doritos Locos Taco. - Why are you, why are you just guessing? - There is no bacon in a Doritos Locos Taco. - They added the bacon, it's too obvious. - You think they added the bacon? - They added the clams. - Yeah, they added, I'm not seeing anything in here. that would tell me this isn't, what is that? If I squint my eyes it looks like a...

- This tastes like I imagine that was gonna taste. - I'm not tasting... - Asian fusion with a burger. - No, I think that's probably chicken in there. - [Megan] Guys wanna take a guess? - My next bite is not gonna have, it's just gonna be that meat in there. I'm not gonna get any of that sauce. But look at how orange the sauce is. - [Rhett] Yeah, 'cause it's ketchup and mustard. - All right. - [Megan] Three, two, one. - Whopper. - BK Chicken Sandwich. - [Megan] Incorrect. - All right, I'm gonna take another bite.
I mean the Won Ton wrapper could be part of it. I don't think so, though. Let me just isolate this... Isolate this meat ball. - It's spicy in a good way. - The meatball's good. I'm not getting any burger out of this.
- Well, maybe I'm wrong. - What is that meat? - It tastes exactly the same the second time. It might be pork. - It could be pork. It just tastes like, it actually tastes like it should taste. Ah. This is tough. - But, what's that pork? What's that pork thing? - I mean, good work. - [Nicole] Thank you. - What's that pork thing at a fast food? People got pork things these days? Just like straight like pork sandwich? That don't exist in a fast food.
- I don't know who has that. - It's not that, unless it was sausage. - I'm stick, I'm sticking with chicken. I'm sticking with chicken. - All right, we'll huddle. Why'd you make it spicy? Are you doing that because? - Maybe I should go with my cilantro. Mexican food bit. - [Megan] Cilantro genre. - Mexican chicken, ah, okay.
Right, let's guess. Let's keep it moving. - Okay. - [Megan] Three, two, one. - Quarter Pounder. - Chicken Taco. - Angry Quarter Pounder. Is that something they do with jalapenos? No, that's Burger... - [Megan] Incorrect. I will... - Give us a hint. - [Megan] Okay, ready for a hint? - I just said give us our hint. - [Megan] Are you ready for your hint? - Yes. - [Megan] We have this photo. Uh, the photograph of the food. photoshopped into this historic photo of Woodstock.
- [Link] Somewhere in here is the food? - [Megan] This took me so long... - [Rhett] I see it but I can't tell you what it is. - [Link] You see it? - [Rhett] Yeah. That guy's holding it right there. - Oh yeah, that, it does look like a burger. Is that a cheeseburger? Okay. I mean, I know what that looks like. - [Megan] You wanna guess or you want a bite? - I don't want a bite. - I wanna guess. - I can still taste it.
- [Megan] Three, two, one. - McDonald's cheeseburger. - [Megan] Incorrect, you're on the right path. - So it was a burger. - [Megan] I'll give it to you. It was a burger. - I told you it was a burger. - All right, all right, it's a burger. - [Megan] You gotta be... - I tasted a burger and you made me lose confidence. - See, I'm gonna try to taste this sauce. and nothing but the sauce. What kinda... That's a very sweet and hot sauce. It's super sweet. I almost taste bubble gum.
Yeah, I definitely taste bubble gum. Which burger has bubble gum on it? - All right, got it. - [Megan] I can give you the restaurant. 'cause you skipped your other bite. - What... - [Megan] And went straight into the third. - Wendy's? - [Megan] In-N-Out. - Yeah, I was gonna say, it's the In-N-Out Double Double. That's what I was gonna say. - [Megan] Correct. - Ah. So, what is this orange sauce? - [Nicole] So that is a mix of chili crisp, soy sauce, marin, and In-N-Out sauce.
- Yeah. - In-N-Out sauce. - The burger sauce of it all. is the thing that was in my brain. - But then what is the meat? - [Nicole] So, it's an entire Double Double. pulverized mixed with pork, ginger, scallions... - Ginger. - [Nicole] And garlic, yeah. - I think the ginger tastes like bubble gum. - It's very good. - [Nicole] Oh, interesting. I like that about you. - It's very good. - Huh.
Can we do another one? (upbeat music). Now we have a cheesecake Oreo pie. It might be cheesecakey, I don't know. - [Megan] It is cheesecake. - I'm a little scared of it. (fork scraping). - Ah. - Sorry. To get through that crust there. That's a thick crust. - I think I got this one,
