Blind Biscuit Taste Test

Do fast food biscuits taste different than they did eight years ago? Let's talk about that. Good Mythical Morning. The year was 2018 and two fresh faced young boys named Rhett and Link set. out to prove themselves as the biscuit geniuses they knew they were born to be. First of all, I already know where this biscuit is from. I immediately know where this biscuit is from, too.

Man, I might be a biscuit genius. And I know exactly where it's from. I'm not apologizing for it. I dunno anymore. They make a biscuit. I'm not a genius. So you fell apart there at the end, it seems like. You didn't know anymore, you're not a genius. It's a bit hard to watch. Yeah. We're so young, such hubris, especially from this one. Eight years later, this biscuit genius is ready to redeem himself. It's time for Oops, I Bit It Again, Fast Food Biscuit Taste Test Volume Two.

Okay, boys. Today you'll be tasting biscuits from, in no particular order, McDonald's, Popeye's, kFC, Carls Jr, Wendy's, and Bojangles all served via the still. patent pending chicken finger hand. Okay. Last time Rhett guessed four correctly. What? Link guessed two correctly. So let's see, uh, if.

Even though I knew what all of them were. So confident. Go ahead and put on your blindfolds. As you can see, we can't. And let's bring in those first biscuits. How many biscuits you've been eating lately? You been on the biscuit train? Come here, biscuit. Uh, yeah. I'll, I'll frequent a biscuit. I don't know how I got four of these right. Hmm, hmm hmm.

Buttery. Fluffy. Hmm. Huh. That's a good biscuit. I will say that this one is very buttery. It's a good biscuit. Interesting. It's salty, I like that. It is really salty, isn't it? Is it too salty? You also rated them in 2018, so we can compare what you thought then. I mean. To what you think now. That's a, it feels like a really great start for a biscuit. Uh, I'm, you know what I'm gonna do?

Do it. I'm gonna give it a seven and I reserve the right for seven to become my new 10. But I think that's a good biscuit. I think it might not end up being a great biscuit. That is always the problem with the first biscuit. I feel your biscuit pain right now. Especially because of where I think it's from. Okay. You've given me some kind of hint there, but I don't really know what the hint is. Nothing. Um. Nothing. I'm gonna need some help. Okay.

I'm gonna give it a seven as well. Whoa. 'cause it's very good, but. You gonna copy my answer? It might, I'm copying you. It might be a little strong on the salt, but where is it from? I know beyond the shadow of a doubt, and I'm serious. Hold on. I would bet my life on it. I'm so confident in where this biscuit is from. But how could you do how you were so wrong? I, I just know. I, I do know. Okay. 3, 2, 1. KFC. See, you knew too. Well I thought maybe I did know.

I didn't know it was that salty. But I'm not. But I didn't know it was that. I'm not confident. Soft. I'm not confident. I just think, yeah, kind of KFC. But you know, I'm not like I'm 100% sure. Leave that to me. Okay. Did you think it was KFC 'cause it has a little bit of a Play-Doh taste to it? Yes. It, well, consistency, yeah. Soft in the middle, even soft on the outside. Hmm. Oh, this smells like a pancake.

I'm biting slowly to gain as much information as possible. Okay. Hmm. If I keep taking bites this big, I'm gonna have a belly full of biscuits. Yeah you are, nothing wrong with that. I need to slow my roll. Hmm. Shout out to nannies everywhere, still making biscuits from scratch. And Nanas. My nanny, she'd make biscuits from scratch and this is reminiscent of that. There's a very homemade feel to it.

Mm-hmm. Great taste. It doesn't have that salt. It's not, it's, it's, yeah. I'm missing butteriness and saltiness, but I, consistency, I love. I think it's got the butteriness. What do you, what are you gonna give it? I'm gonna give it a seven as well. Whoa, that's a mistake. This is at least a nine. Okay. You ready to guess? Yes. Yep. 3, 2, 1. Popeyes. Bojangles. Oh, you know what? See, now you feel bad, don't you?

Because that was Bojangles. How do you know that. Hundred percent, a hundred percent. I'm just saying, and. Why are you so confident you're wrong though? I know, I just know. I remember. I'm not. We, we did recently have Bojangles, uh. Yeah. Biscuits. And it was shipped in. The thing I'm trying to keep in mind is the fact that the Bojangles biscuit. was shipped from North Carolina. So I've taken that into account. Well, you know what? Maybe that's what it was. Maybe that's what took it down, because it, it traveled further than every other biscuit. Mm-hmm.

I really am this confident, I'm not, I'm not doing a bit. I, I'm being, I know. Oh, trust me. I know that you're not doing. I'm very confident. You weren't doing a bit then, and you're not doing one now. Oh. Oh. Hmm. I'm starting to get some of that biscuit blur, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, see, you're already losing your confidence. Very bready, not very buttery. There's not even butter in it. There's no butter baked into this biscuit.

I think I might choke trying to eat it. I think everybody's doing a pretty good biscuit now, and I think that. the biscuits have changed across the board in the past eight years. This is tough. Why do I want to just give this a seven as well? I think I'm gonna give this one a six because, it's not quite. as good as the first two I had. I'm gonna give it a five. I'm very underwhelmed by it. Do you think you know where it's from? Oh, I am, I'm not confident in this one.

This is a blind guess. Just being honest, trying to be forthright in my biscuit geniosity. Okay. It's quite a display you're putting on. Three. Two. One. Wendy's. McDonald's. It could have been McDonald's. It could have been McDonald's. I think it was McDonald's. You think it was McDonald's? Could have been Wendy's because. It could've been Wendy's. I was it down to. Suck, right. It was down to Wendy's and McDonald's. Or not suck, but not be great. I think that they both upped their biscuit game. That's, I mean, that's what I'm saying, it's, it was close to the other ones.

I think the issue is that I don't just ever eat straight biscuits. I always have something on 'em, at least butter, maybe a little. butter and jelly, sometimes some sausage, sometimes some chicken. What a sad little biscuit. What's happening here? Hmm. I think that was a rounder biscuit. The other ones are square. Not square, but where there is a place that has square biscuits is that biscuitville?

I don't know, I haven't been in a long time. I missed the boat on Biscuitville. There was like one in Fuquay and I never went to it because. they didn't scramble their eggs. When you said that, I thought what you meant is that in the past there was. a boat in the logo and you missed it. You were like. You, really? I missed the boat on Biscuitville, you remember when they used to have a boat. It never made sense 'cause it was a biscuit place, but boy the good old. It was more like Long John Silver. Five. I'm giving it a five. I'm giving it a four.

I would go to Biscuitville and I would get, ah, crap. Wendy's. A sausage biscuit with mustard on it. Carl's Jr. And it was just that, it was a biscuit, mustard and sausage. I get two of them. 3, 2, 1. Wendy's. Ah, I just canceled you out, big boy, because I doubled up on Wendy's. Wait, don't be so proud of yourself, man. There's nothing to be proud of here. You doubled up on Wendy's. Whatever you just tried to accomplish, I erased.

And so did I to you. That's true. Did my tee happen to catch your eye? What about my hoodie? And what about these stickers? And look at the back of my hoodie. The back, I, this is. Can you see it? We're, we're pretty excited about this design. Uh, we love it. It's also cool. Aesthetically. It's our Tokyo. Oh, it's, uh, sorry, what?

Mythical collection. T-shirt, hoodie, sticker set. Get it. Mythical.com. Next biscuit, please. Hmm. Next biscuit please is like something that would've been, uh, one of those. interstitial tracks in an album, a rap album on the, in the nineties. Next, next biscuit, please. Yeah. Like a third base album. Yeah, man. You know what I'm talking about. Yeah. Got a little Prime Minister Pete Nice saying gimme a little.

bit more of that biscuit, baby. Boy, this is a dry biscuit. Where's the redemptive quality in this biscuit? I don't know, it feels like it was made for a dog or something. It's not really buttery. It's not as buttery as the first one we tasted. Are we just biscuited out? I think we're in the fog. Have we been over biscuited? We've been bombarded with biscuits. We've been over biscuited. It can happen when you, I hadn't even been drinking water.

You know. This. I could have been, but I wasn't. Well, I tried to do that earlier and, and nothing came out of it. You gotta empty water. It's full now, that's the magic of Mythical. Um. Three. Tasted burnt. Three. Yeah. Why? But it, it didn't feel burnt, but it tasted burnt. It just taste burnt. It just tasted bad. It just tasted like it didn't have a lot of flavor. Who do we think has the worst biscuit.

Out of those options? I would've said McDonald's. But I, but they've, I don't know. I just don't, I have reason to believe that it's not McDonald's. Okay. Are you gonna triple Wendy's? Don't tell me you're gonna triple Wendy's. I might have to. Okay. Three, two, one. Carls Jr. Wendy's. It's not Carls Jr. 'cause Carls Jr's got great biscuits, I think. I, I know they do, but here's the thing. McDonald's has everything down to consistency, nothing ever gets burned at. McDonald's because it's all like automated and meticulated, they're not making.

their biscuits from scratchy scratch. Correct me if I'm wrong. Biscuits made from scratch, y'all. Carls Jr. I, I think Carls Jr. Is sitting there and they're like judging how done. a biscuit should be and all that jazz. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that be being judged incorrectly. Say it, say an interstitial. Biscuit, please. Oh, a new one. Or the same one. Hit me with a new biscuit.

Hmm. A little bit crusty. Soft in the middle though. Hmm? Not overwhelmingly buttery. It's a crunchy biscuit on the outside. Not getting a lot of butter. Five. I mean, I think I'm just over biscuited. I'll be honest with you, I think I've lost all perspective. We've been bashed with biscuits. You could just put all the ingredients that make a biscuit, which are in the following order. Flour. Water.

No. Milk. Flour. Milk. Mm. Salt if you're KFC. Salt and it may be a little baking, so, so baking powder. Heat, heat. Love. Uh, Southern charm. Yeah. So if you put all that in my mouth in any order, in any combination, it would be the. exact same experience that I'm having now. I'm, you can make a biscuit in your mouth. Yeah. Five. Mouth biscuit, which is one of the tracks on that third base album, mouth biscuit.

Three, two. Oh, don't, wait. Oh God. I was totally zoned out. You forgot that was part of it. I was thinking about, I was just. Thinking about third base. When this, when, yeah, I was. Yeah. Um, crap, crap, crap, crap. I don't know who that is. Whose biscuit that is. Okay. Ready. One. Carls Jr. Carls Jr. Oh, what? Yes. Yes. What? You copied me. I did that.

No, I didn't copy you. I pulled myself together and I negated you. Okay. So there's a lot to unpack. Um, one, I'll say the majority of the biscuit scores in the year of our. lord 2026 are higher than in 2018. Oh really? So to your point, perhaps biscuits have caught on. Mm-hmm. Okay. You know, there's an evolution in biscuit. Uh, and you by far liked Round Two's biscuit, which is from Wendy's.

That was your favorite biscuit. Is I thought it was Popeye's, and I said it was at seven, you said it was a nine. And then you double Wendyed on a different, two different rounds. That's because I thought that it was Bojangles. And unfortunately, and we're just gonna, you know, didn't I, we can blame the shipping. on this one, but you hated Bojangles. It was the shipping. It was the shipping. I mean. I'm gonna be honest with you, we had fresh Bojangles when we were in North Carolina. a couple weeks ago, and it was just like.

Glorious. Us and the whole crew, they were like, how does it do this? It's crazy. You gotta, a biscuit's gotta be fresh. Now you gotta order a light biscuit if you don't want it to be too dark. That's true. If you're Link. Mm-hmm. Link, you are bringing home a score of one today. Oh God, you've gotten worse. You've gotten worse. Rhett, a score of two. Oh, I got worse too. But the biscuits have gotten better. Yes. Yeah. And you still get the prize that you got from last time, the ultimate fast food.

biscuit, which yes, of course is made up from all the biscuits you just tasted. Smashed together, and then baked again. A twice baked biscuit. No. What y'all, how'd you make it moist? Just completely disintegrated. That's my prize. Oh. Ate my prize.

Not even asking, breaking it apart. Eating it. I, I just, I mean, I'm busy. I'm bashing biscuits man. You got Biscuit Brain. I got Biscuit Brain, bubba. Thanks for commenting and sharing this video. You know what time it is. I'm Joe. I'm Jamie. And I'm Emily. And we're trying Bojangles for the first time. And it's time to spin the Wheel of Mythicality. You're about to have a good time. They're gonna love it because it, you know, it wasn't shipped.

Time for an unfun fact, get your hopes down. There are over four varieties of fruit. Click the top link to watch us taste test two new items from Arby's in Good Mythical More.
